“Why are you so mean to me?” Lucifer froze for a moment when those words left your lips, before quickly brushing them off. He’s a prideful man to a fault obviously. It isn't till hours later that the words start to sink in, he at first assumed you were just being a brat at first but after that, you had refused to talk to him for the rest of the day and it was only now, he was considering if he truly was being a bit to mean to you? No... no...it is the human that is wrong...but his brain continues to nag to him.

How he apologizes:  In a very subtle manner that makes it obvious that he still thinks he’s not fully in the wrong but wants you to stop ignoring him. He gives you a stuffed animal and a letter detailing what had occurred and how he maybe, just maybe...was a bit mean. If you accept that is up to you.

MAMMON:

“Why are you so mean to me?”  This hits Mammon hard, he immediately devolves into stutters and frantically tries to go back on whatever he said. Most likely call you names such as, 'stupid human' honestly. He knows how it feels to be called names all the time and for people mainly his brothers to be mean to him, and he feels really bad especially if you two have a close relationship.

How he apologizes:  Actually does say that he's sorry, and tries to butter you up with gifts he can't afford. He's still a massive tsundere about it tho, "All these gifts don't mean nothin' alright?! I just feel bad is all..."

LEVIATHAN:

“Why are you so mean to me?”  Chokes on his drink and immediately start fumbling with his words. He completely devolves into degrading himself, calling himself worthless and a filthy otaku who ruined his friendship because he's so horrible. He cannot take the fact he might be mean...even if he sorta is.

How he apologizes:  He doesn't. He just degrades himself so badly you eventually kinda just start to feel bad. Though that doesn't mean you have to accept that apology at all. If degrading himself doesn't work he starts trying to just act like nothing is wrong, but then he starts degrading himself again its a cycle...

ASMODEUS:

“Why are you so mean to me?”  Nearly pokes his eye out with eyeliner. He apologizes instantly, but it's not a good one, to be honest. It's something along the lines of, "Oh honey, I meant nothing by it. I'm sorry. Anyways-" Just brushes right past it. He probably doesn't even really think he's being mean. It isn't till you start ignoring him that it gets him...

How he apologizes:  Goes all out, a luxury spa day, gifts galore, praise and everything. He desperately desires attention and for people to like him, but the opinion he ultimately cares about the most is yours.

SATAN:

“Why are you so mean to me?”  Breaks a glass in his hands instantly. Him, mean? Do you have any idea how much meaner he could be? Takes a deep breath and apologize for any actions you may have perceived as rude. That's right, perceived. He does not admit that he may have actually been mean.

How he apologizes:  That's it, that's his apology. It isn't until he considers how prideful and Lucifer-like he's acting that he genuinely reflects and apologizes for his actions. He thinks his words should be enough, so he doesn't shower you with gifts like his brothers as an apology.

BEELZEBUB:

“Why are you so mean to me?”  Does not let this stop him from swallowing a massive burger whole like a snake. Apologizes immediately for making you feel unwelcome and offers you a single fry from his food. Only one. Honestly the sweetest boy tbh, just goes, "Oh my bad. I'm sorry." And goes on with his day.

How he apologizes:  Though he brushed it off at first and apologized, he still feels bad and continues to apologize over the next few days. Ends up giving you bites of his own food even more often than usual because he feels bad.

BELPHEGOR:

“Why are you so mean to me?”  Laughs. He is not as sweet as his twin. He thought you were joking with him at first and brushed it off because he never considered that he may be a little mean. I mean he can be ALOT meaner, and he knows you know that given what happened between you two...He does not apologize until you start withholding cuddles because you're angry with him.

How he apologizes:  Basically says, "I'm sorry. Can I have cuddles back now?" Tries to find out what he did wrong, and ultimately tries to change how he acts to not be mean to you. Though he struggles because he's very sarcastic and sometimes comes off as very mean.

Do you have anymore recs? The chain meeting wild for the fist time is allways fun and mabey add a bit of "wtf is wild doing??" Into the mix, sneeky wild could also be very fun! Like wild plays hide and seek with the koroks so something using those skills might be fun! ^-^

The Ruins series - this series has that chain exploring Wild's hyrule aspect, mixed with a bit of fighting and a bit of angst

The Scenic Route - no fighting, unless you count great fairies accosting Wild as fighting

The Sense of Smell Holds your Strongest Memories - no fighting, sorta. Poor Wild has a horrid memory and angst ensues.

Cautionary Tale - this one feels like a "chain meets Wild" but it's a week later. It glosses over any fighting as it's largely a character study, tis a good one tho

First Meetings - chain meets Wild, honesty this is mostly just fluff. It's one of the few that Wild reacts decently well to being asked to join them, and that's a rarity

a wolf and his boy - chain meets wild (tho it's not the first time for twi) and this is just wholesome

Red Fur and Blue Magic - this is a really new one that you admittedly may have read, but I found it as a sorta refreshing chain meets wild fic. koroks and foxes and yiga oh my!

Blending In - very short, quite funny. Wild could give Time a run for his money with the masks he has

your eyes, they tell a story - less chain meets wild, more wild meets chain. A lot of justified panic and confusion on wild's part

The Cucco Attack Squad - ok here me out, cuccos (this isn't as wild-centric but seriously, cuccos)

Finally watched the entirety of The Monkey King 2023 and I have opinions/thoughts/theories. Spoilers below.

Thoughts:

Voice acting amazing. Jimmy O Yang really gave this Monkey a heart and vunerability. Also loved Bowen Yang as the Dragon King. Did not expect the Buddha to be Dr Henry Wu (BD Wong) but it felt right.

Art amazing, esp the 2d sequence and the fight scenes. Loved Monkey and the Dragon King's designs. Not so much for the gods tho; They looked too much like Illumination characters at times - tho it did give them a little uncanniness you'd expect from a celestial.

This version of Wangmu is def the Jade Emperor's mom or something, and not his wife. The Queen Mother of the West deserves an absolutely show-stoppingly regal design, not a cartoony witch vibe.

From the poisoned peach scene I can confirm; this SWK is a flirty drunk and has the worst pickup lines. "You must be from the Dang Dynasty!" anyone? X3

No Master Subodhi, Stalwart Generals, Brotherhood, Erlang, or the Furnace in this version sadly, but I have my theories below. Monkey does mark/pee on the Buddha's hand tho so they kept that part in. XD

Theories + future character ideas below read more >;3

The four baby monkeys we see at the beginning listening to the Elder are the Stalwart Generals. It was their childhood group name and sometimes they even included Monkey/Shihou (Monkey would die for them for this brief act of kindness). The one that got taken by the Demon of Havoc either got away/was saved, or is tied to the idea that "Marshal Liu = Liu'er Mihou/Six Eared Macaque", potientially giving Netflix Macaque a personal grudge against his Monkey King (he indirectly ruined/ended his life).

Lin is 100% a Golden Cicada incarnation. Girl was personally chosen at the to act as the Buddha's voice to the Monkey King. Plus her being the last face Monkey sees before the mountain is sealed mirroring how Tripitaka is the first to greet him 500 years later?

Hc that Monkey did have a Brotherhood of demons during his 100 Demon slaying binge, but it fell apart badly like a rock band. Hence why he's seen defeating his DBK in the 2d sequence.

The reason why we don't see Master Subodhi, is because this Monkey needs to have his "awakening to nothingness" while on the Journey, and not before. Hence why he's never called Sun Wukong (atleast in the english version), since "Sun Wukong" literally means = "monkey awakened to nothingness". It's likely this Tripitaka will be the one to name Monkey, if Subodhi doesn't appear in any hypothetical sequel that is.

I fear that it might mean that the Furnace and Erlang may play a huge role in Monkey's future character arc if they ever makes an appearance. We do see a similar looking cauldron in Wangmu's lab (I guess they gave her Lao Tzu's job), so hopefully its not a red herring.

Someone pointed out that Netflix Monkey's hair looks like a Prince Rupert Drop (aka an extremely hard tadpole/tear shaped drop of molten glass that distintergrates if the tail is damaged) and thats such a cool character design thing. From this, his LEM counterpart def should have an obsidian (sharp, hard, but brittle quickly cooling lava) theme going on to both contrast and compare to Monkey's glass. I love me the rock imagery in the film.

Bajie's brief appearance looked pretty young/piglet-esque. I hear that there's an upcoming Xiyouji film about Bajie, so maybe this form is still currently a young recently-reincarnated piglet instead of a whole hog.

I would love for a reappearance of Red Girl in the future. Let this baby go Samadhi Fire on a monkey.

I hope for a hypothetical Netflix version of Ao Lie/Bai Longma that is an actual character, and not just a pretty prop. Maybe tie in his connection to the Dragon King (maybe he's Ao Lie's uncle or dad) in the film?

I am obsessing now.

Yeah, snuggling with owl plushies has helped surprisingly much. It‘s an old habit I just recently picked up again, but plushies truly are very nice (and owls simply mean everything to me. I‘m not getting called Owl for no reason xD)

I am also very guilty of quitting something if I'm not immediately good at it. Or as soon as it starts to go wrong. It happens to me a lot with craft projects. But I've gotten better about following through--and trying again if the first time isn't what I want. Perfectionism is super not healthy, and I'm trying to break myself of it. Not everything has to be perfect. Just doing it at all is something to be proud of. I'm glad that talking about it keeps you motivated. You can talk to me about it whenever you want. It's fun to hear your thought processes about it and I'm excited to see it take shape! Today was a better day for me than yesterday (not perfect, but better and that's all I can ask for). I also snuggled with some plushies when I went to bed last night. And when I got home from work the keyboard I thought I'd ruined was back up and running (thanks to my partner cleaning the absolute shit out of it and doing everything he could to salvage it). My keycaps are still a little sticky, but they all work. I really really love casual nudity ghouls. They're so important to me. I'm glad you're including them. It just feels so normal that they wouldn't have any of the same humans have around nudity for so many reasons! I'm glad you're going to include it!! I hope the rest of your day went well and you got some drawing done! I have the next two days off so I am going to try to get some crafting and some writing done. We'll see how successful I am.

I wouldn’t say the ship in itself ruins their complexity, they’re both dark characters and have a pretty toxic relationship (if written by the right people it might even enhance the darkness and realism of both their characters). But the shippers are what ruin it all; they all turned it into some cutesy puppyship. -_-

I was wondering if you could tell me what an ideal/canon/realistic Remus would look like to you?

Well, I pretty much see him exactly the way he is in canon; soft-spoken, patient, very compassionate and kind, is afraid of speaking up about his friends’ wrongdoings (as we see in SWM), can be very emotionally cowardly (as we see with him and Tonks), etc etc. For me, the ideal version of the characters I love is always the canon version, all their flaws, their imperfections, their personality, their darker side.

I despise how soft and angelic Wolfstar shippers make Remus, so I always cherish fanfics that explore his flaws.

Im planning on writing a Marauder's Era Fic and I want things to be as Canon as possible, as I am v green to HP in general. Other ideas/plot points, anything that could help with my fanfic would be super sick

I think I’m gonna need something more specific. When does the fanfic you’re writing take place? Is it going through all 7 years through Hogwarts, after they graduate, their earlier/later years at Hogwarts? (And at each year/point I can tell you Remus’s relationship with each Marauder.)

I think you should know I’m not very well-versed in Marauders fanfics through the Marauders’ eyes.😅 I’m a Snape fan and most Marauders-era fics I read are from his POV throughout his years at Hogwarts (the future DEs welcoming him, the Marauders’ bullying, his and Lily’s friendship, Dumbledore’s bias, etc) and usually aren’t very Marauders-friendly, so you can always ask other HP fans who’re more experienced with these kinda things. Like I said, I think I need something more specific so I can know what to help you with.

And when you publish your fic, could you please inform me? I’d really love to read Remus fanfics without any Wolfstar! (And will your fanfic be anti-snape? I mean, ofc I’m gonna read it anyway but please tell me if it is so I can at least know what to expect XD)

Merry Christmas to you too, thanks for the ask 💕 I took a bit longer than I wanted to answer this, sorry. It's also quite long, so that's partly why. But here it is! Long post ahead~

8. How old were they when they stopped believing in Santa?

Since we don't know how fae age works I'll just use our human years instead klhasklfh

He was 10. A bit later than most kids, since his parents did their absolute best to keep the wonder alive in him for as long as they could.

9. How did they stop believing in Santa?

That was also the age when he started getting bullied at school and having less and less friends and more enemies. And some of the kids that disliked him saw him so happy talking about Santa and wanted to ruin it for him 😢 He was really upset that whole Christmas. But for the next one he had already understood why his parents "had done that" and why it was important. And from then on he firmly decided to keep the ruse around any children he might ever encounter (specially his little siblings).

11. Do they have any special traditions?

Yes, he and his family do~ There's a big spring in the forest next to their home where their ancestors have been going for centuries. They go during all holidays, including during Christmas. It's such a pure fresh water that it helps them replenish their magic and feel stronger (since they're river fae). During summer time visits they do go in the nearby pond to swim, but in the colder months they just put their hands under the sping and let the water flow over them for a little bit~

Nothing too special. His twin sister heard it from someone in class who learned it from their older cousin. And well, she had to tell him too lmao. She was quite ok with it, but Yuuki cried for a while after learning of it. (He calmed down once his parents assured him they'd still get presents anyway).

Not sure if this would count as special tradition? But the few weeks before Christmas day he works really hard to make something handmade for all his family and close friends. Now that he's in NRC he makes something for all his close friends and Grim~ And eventually, his bfs.

He just figured it out himself. After seeing how the adults acted and aplying some basic logic to it. After asking his mom she told him the truth outwardly. He felt a bit betrayed about it and felt like he needed some "compensation". So that year he ruined Santa for all the kids his age that lived in his town lmao. He just went around telling everyone. He calmed down after that and stopped doing it tho the next year XD

11. Do they have any special traditions?

Where he lives it doesn't ever snow, but, as a kid, he really really wanted to make snowmans like he saw in media and books. So his mom had to think of something and created with him a "wood and leaves" snowman that time. It ended up becoming a tradition and they make one each year 😌 Although in the later years, Oriol adds way too much to it and makes it all automated and mobile, it greets people who pass by their house and it spooks them lmao.

Being the youngest of three, her parents and her sisters did their best to hide the truth from her and always make it such a fun enjoyable experience for her. It took a long time for her to discover the truth. Just one day, since almost all her classmates knew the truth already, they just mentioned asking the presents to their parents normally and she was confused. And soon they all explained to her how it worked.

She was a bit disappointed, but she took it quite well and didn't mind much. What she liked most was all the time with her family, so having them also be the ones behind the presents wasn't that bad~

11. Do they have any special traditions?

Yes, so many! They all go together a week before Christmas to buy all the presents (hidding when it's for a family member). They also go together to ice skate a few times during the holidays. They always plan a big Christmas party with all their relatives over at their big house, everything decorated and fancy, with formal dresses and all. They also do play board games every night after dinner, all together. It's just all family time~

Oh no, that's legit what I was going for XD

One thing I do have to give Skyrims skill system credit for is that being able to train any skill you want at any time without having to have a stat threshold just to use it DOES make it easier to roleplay character development.

At the moment Rook DOES have weapons. Mainly a wooden club added by the immersive weapons mod, though recently I gave her a mace. Though I'm not sure whether to keep it? Tbh the idea of her using exclusively lightweight weapons kinda fit with her squishy scholar concept while still giving her some weapon experience.

I don't mean this in a sense of her never using a mace, but more that the metal might be too heavy this early on in her adventures in skyrim? Like, she got from Solitude to Whiterun in two days (might look at mods that make the days shorter. If only to make traveling between cities take longer? Might be a bad idea tho), and then spent several days in Whiterun saving up money to hire Jenessa as her bodyguard. Not a lot of time to build the muscle needed to weild a metal mace. If I stick to one handed weapons maybe a dagger if she has to have metal weapons but who knows.

But no, yeah, Rook is a character designed to rely on followers and companions. I gave her skills in things like smithing, enchanting, and speech specifically because I imagine back in Cyrodil she had to get mercenaries and the like on board with escorting her and her coworkers into ruins all the time and being able to offer them a free chance to have their weapons and armor tempered and maybe even enchanted would mean they'd demand less pay for the job.

This aspect of her character may change over time given how rough Skyrim is, and with her eventual discovery that she is Dragonborn, an explicitly warrior-like legendary figure. The change from just generally needing protection from bandits and wildlife and the like to being targeted by literally DRAGONS may also influence her desire to begin training more in weaponry. Though, gameplay wise, her strongest suit in combat is still going to be her Restoration and Alteration magics and later her training in one handed weapons. (I downloaded the Train and Study mod to make this process more organic).

Her relationship with her companions and hired muscle changes too. Before it was just a professional relationship. A matter of gold and an exchange of services, but traveling skyrim and collecting allies, learning their stories, and knowing that any one of them could die on any of their adventures begins to change her from someone who needed to collect bodyguards and more into a genuine leader of a mercenaries, advneturers, and heroes.

Plus the followers and stuff are kinda essential? I'm playing Legacy of the Dragonborn and in order to successfully roleplay that I'm gonna need a number of mods to adjust existing quests, and justifying serving other factions that dont quite compliment her build and character. So, like, I'll want a follower who could plausibly join up with the companions in order to justifying doing that questline, for example.

I've heard of the protentious mod that lets you play multiple characters but I dunno if that's something i really wanna use to mess with my load order.

Beyond ALL that shes not going to be able to avoid getting beat up a bit. I added the wounds mod, so Rook is walking away from a lot of combat encounters with injuries even if she isn't the one doing a ton of damage.

Okay, now that I have eaten (too much), drank some water and took a big red painkiller its time to go back to playing Reverie.

WOAH! If you thought his Dad-Mood was scary in the spreadsheet-translation then look at this and think again. Not just that here he clearly says “my child” were it was “our child” (as in the SSSs Child) here, but I am pretty sure he wasn’t that aggressive in the fan translation either. Its... scary to admit that him being in overprotective “touch my daughter and you are dead!” - mood makes him oddly attractive... uh... just forget that I said that!

*achem* That aside, I would love to know which translation is closer to the truth because for once, I like NIS adaptation better XD

Ah right. That is were Dr.Seiland was. I forgot about that... I was a bit occupied with other things in this chapter to be honest. Mainly Reans route causing me to scream in Panic like 5 times in a row... but we get there later. (In any case... I do still believe there is something up with that Doctor we yet have to find out about. It seems awfully weird to put a face to a mostly random doctor, even if it is a good one. It could easily be that they will use her as a great doctor again or something like this. But trusting Doctors or Scientist or ANYONE with a Labcoat really proves to be rather hard in Falcom games ^^’ (Erika aside, she is too much of a mother to join the organisation that could have harmed her dear Tita before...)

At this point Erikas desperate tries to get Agate away from Tita by being the bitch she sometimes is, has started to be more amusing then annoying. Agate is there to stay, so... instead of worrying about whatever Erika could do to cause him to run, we should be amused by how hard she is trying even tho I am pretty sure she has secretly long accepted that she has lost that battle.

Did you ever saw the theory that McBurn might actually be Epstein? At first I felt like that it made no sense, but... given that we know that Epstein suddenly vanished and that he was making experiments and stuff far beyond of what our amazing Engineers and even his own disciples are capable of... it doesn’t seem so unlikely that he broke the divergent laws and accidentally or on purpose fused with some sort of otherworldly being? Not to mention that we still haven’t fully figured out what the Genesis were capable off and those were in his position, as far as we know. So... it doesn’t seem totally impossible at this point. Especially since it seems and awfully weird detail that he is wearing glasses...

I am interested to one day find out the truth behind his story and see if the theories at least scratched the surface of what is the real truth.

Beach Days with The Genshin Characters!

A/N: HI IM BACK FROM THE DEAD! These were supposed to be a lot shorter but I got too excited. If you by any chance wanna see some for your fav character lmk! I know it says request are closed in my bio but since it’s just hcs it’s a lot less (and I really enjoyed writing these so ajdhdhdk)

🔥Diluc:

This man cannot swim. Tell me otherwise, I dare you.

Kaeya tried to jokingly push him off a lil diving cliff area when they were kids.

He almost drowned. Kaeya was in a lot of trouble.

So, good luck getting this man to actually get in the water. The most he’ll do is sit on the shore where it’s very shallow.

He usually prefers to just stay under an umbrella on the sand and keep an eye on you.

Calls you every two hours in advance and helps you reapply sunscreen.

He’s very pale so I feel like he burns pretty easily, meaning he needs to reapply super frequently otherwise he will become a tomato. He brings like three bottles of the good shit. Tch, rich boy.

If you ask him to build a sandcastle, he will pretend to be annoyed but do it anyways. Ends up finding it kind of enjoyable.

He has the maids prepare a nice picnic basket for the two of you!! It’s got all your favorite foods plus grape juice cuz y’know.

If any creepy peeps approach you, don’t worry. He brought his vision and his claymore.

Of course, he won’t have to resort to such violent lengths. Everyone in Mondstadt knows who Diluc is and they probably know you’re his s/o, so they’re usually smart enough to mind their own business.

If they don’t, don’t worry. Diluc’s glare is more than enough to scare them away.

All in all I definitely recommend a beach day with him! I’ll give it a solid 8/10 (-2 for not wearing floaties and getting in the water with you or letting you teach him how to swim.

🖌Albedo:

You guys definitely 100% take Klee out with you on a beach day.

You guys bring snacks, beach toys like buckets and shovels for optimal sandcastle building, a picnic blanket, etc.

Jean definitely packs a lot more stuff for you guys to take with you than you actually need.

It’s only cuz she’s worried for Klee and is nervous about not being able to go with you guys though! It’s very sweet really.

Klee tries to bomb the fish and cause havoc at the beach 😭

I think Albedo is a good swimmer and gets in with you and Klee so that he can help her (which is very cute omfg)

He’s set total workaholic, as we know, so it took a lot of convincing to get him to put down his experiments and accompany you to the beach (however, he’s particularly weak to yours and klee’s puppy dog eyes so he caved eventually)

Though, looking at you and Klee happily building sandcastles and decorating them with pretty seashells of all shapes and colors, he can’t really find it in himself to complain.

He, of course, takes this opportunity to take out his sketchbook and draw the waves, seagulls, you… Of course he won’t let you see the sketch book no sir. He’s a bit embarrassed to be honest, but an artist such as himself recognizes beauty when he sees it so he simply had to draw you. (God I love him so much)

If a creepy person approaches you,- well don’t worry. The sight of a small arsonist child blowing up fish is enough to scare them away 🥰

At the end of the day, all three of you are all ticketed out. Albedo has to carry Klee back to Mondstadt because the poor baby fell asleep the moment you started drying her hair with the beach towel. You’re, of course, carrying back Dodoco and your bags. (You also manage to sneak a peak at Albedo’s sketchbook and find some very pretty drawings of you and Klee with your sandcastle)

At the end of the day, you guys tuck Klee in and read her a bedtime story (she woke up and insisted). Afterwards Albedo takes you back home and thanks you for coming with you and Klee (which you ofc say wasn’t a problem because how could you not???)

All in all? I’ll give it a solid 10/10. You’ve got tasty food, fun times, your boyfriend and his cute kid adoptive sister (yes I am very biased idc)

🦋Xiao:

I think it would take a lot of convincing to get Xiao to go out on a beach date with you.

He’ll probably see it as a distraction getting in the way of his slaying of monsters and demons.

However, he also worships the grounds you walk on (hehe, simp XD), so I don’t think it’ll take that much convincing on your part (especially because it’s is self appointed duty to keep you safe so if you insist on going with or without him, he supposes he’ll have to go)

Is definitely a bit tense at first. He doesn’t know how to let loose and chill so while you’re sun tanning on a beach chair he’s like 🧍‍♂️ahdgshjsjd

Eventually calms down a bit though! You get him to relax and eat some almond tofu you brought along with you. It definitely gets him to perk up.

I don’t think he would mind getting into the water but I do think he’d rather walk along the shore and collect pretty seashells and sea glass.

He later gives the ones he deems pretties to you (he hands them over to you with a blush on his face and pretends it’s not a big deal and he definitely gets all pouty and grouchy when you coo at how adorable he is)

As for creeps, Xiao is both intimidating and well known in Liyue. No one is brave enough (or, let’s be honest, dumb enough) to approach you with any bad intentions.

Sure, Xiao has sworn never to harm a human/citizen of Liyue but that doesn’t mean he can’t scare the absolute shit out of them.

I think Xiao would definitely enjoy a beach day 🥺🥺. He’d find it very relaxing to go out with you and just hear the sound of waves and feel the sand under his feet.

He’d definitely hint at wanting to do it again later. Of course, he won’t tell you. No, that’s a foolish mortal activity and he has much better things to do.

Wait no, don't turn around, yes he will go with you next month.

All in all, I give Xiao a 9/10. It’s a very relaxing day (which he deserves 😤). And you get to see a whole new side of him.

💎Ningguang:

OK SO ORIGINALLY I WASN'T GONNA WRITE ONE FOR HER (at least not in this post) BUT THEN I THOUGHT OF LADY NINGGUANG TAKING YOU TO A WHOLE ASS PRIVATE BEACH

She knows you don’t care about how exclusive the beach you go to is (in fact, the fact that you don’t care about where you are or what you do is one of the things that make her fall more and more madly in love with you) but you deserve the best so she’s gonna go all out.

She’s a busy lady so days like this where the two of you get to go somewhere and be together are few and far between.

She knows it’s hard to be in a relationship with someone who is busy 24/7, so she appreciates how you remain by her side despite all hardships. (Y’all are a whole ass power couple istg)

The two of you spend your day relaxing. Sun bathing, drinking piña coladas, maybe taking a dip in the ocean. It’s all very pleasant!

Ningguang doesn’t quite feel like the type of person who would sit in the sand and make sandcastle, however you’re more than welcome to make some yourself. She finds it endearing <3

If you insist on her helping, she’ll eventually comply. She loves you too much to say no. I feel like she’ll either be terrible at it or like a total architect.

Sand is technically like tiny rocks right? So maybe she can use her vision to help her? If that’s the case, she’s making a replica of the Jade chamber out of sand.

If any creepy person comes up to you don’t worry. Ningguang will buy the whole beach and then use her right of admission as owner to permanently ban them from the beach you’re at.

The only downside to a day at the beach with Ningguang might be that there’s a big chance she’ll be called to tend urgent matters, seeing as she is the Tianquan of the Liyue Qixing and all.

If that does happen, she’ll be sure to make it up to you somehow, whether it be rescheduling or taking care of the matter as soon as possible so that the two of you can get back to your day of relaxation and fun.

All in all?? Lady Ningguang will treat you like total royalty and the two of you will have an amazing time! I give her an 11/10 (she would literally buy a whole beach for you to be comfortable I mean c’mon)

🍃Venti:

BEACH DAYS WITH HIM ARE SO FUN!!

Swimming? Yeah, he’d love to! Sunbathing? Sure! He’ll ever conjure up a light breeze for the two of you. Sandcastle building? WELL OF COURSE WHY DO YOU THING HE BROUGHT ALL THESE BUCKETS AND SHOVELS?

No but seriously, he might be the best person out of everyone here to go to the beach with. He’s fun, free spirited, and he’s a traveling bard who’s been alive long enough to know where all the best beaches in Teyvat are. (He also knows a guy- er, well, dragon I suppose- who is willing to fly them to any place).

He’ll play some soft tunes while you doze under the sun.

HE PICKS PRETTY SHELLS AND GIFTS THEM TO YOU!!!

He will bring booze. I’m pretty sure this is a necessity. If you’re a little upset about it, he’ll probably “eheh~” his way out of it. That slick bastard.

If you really insist on him not drinking, he won’t consume much alcohol.

If some creepy person approaches you and tries to ruin you your day of beach time fun, all of their stuff will suddenly be blown away, causing them to scramble back to their spot and (almost embarrassingly) flail around trying to catch everything. What a shame…

At the end of the day, he’d be a little sad to leave. Definitely makes plans about tbe two of you going back soon.

Han Jisung has lost to Lees all his life, he should’ve been used to it by now. But no other loss came close to the one he suffered after the hockey game between Seoul’s top art high schools. 

The score was 1-0 and the entire time they—Jisung and the 2 other boys—were thinking the game would end in an egg. But right as the timer ticked zero, a Hanlim Tiger striked the puck hard enough to score a gino therefore winning the game at the last second.

No, Jisung and the others weren’t a part of the hockey team that suffered the loss. They were just mere audiences rooting for their school. And beside them were the 3 girls who were torn between supporting the team of the school they hailed from and cheering for their childhood friends on the other team.

Hanlim, despite only coming second to the list of top art high schools in Seoul, wasn’t too bad when it came to sports. Specifically, hockey. Though they did admit that hockey was pretty much a dead sport, with only a small number of the population still interested in it, it didn’t stop Hanlim from making an effort to win the interschool sports fest every year for the past five years in a row. 

And the rumored key to their success? The frightening amount of Lees. 

Jisung believed that Lees simply existed to ruin his life. He remembered losing the top spot in the class ranking to a Lee in middle school, losing all the dance offers and opportunities to his own friend Lee Minho in high school and losing the first and only underground rap battle he had in freshman year to a fellow freshman from the rival school named Lee Minhyung. 

He recalled Minhyung’s retreating figure being welcomed by the Hanlim seniors while he stood there frozen and unable to rebut anything. Thankfully, Changbin took over to recover the lost points. But the trauma of losing against such an angel-looking boy he underestimated made him both frustrated and embarrassed.

Seeing the same guy from the traumatic memory embedded in his head—even after all those years—still made his skin crawl. Even more so when he saw Minhyung score the winning goal for Hanlim which made him think, Is that man bad at anything at all?

As soon as the game was over, Jisung wanted to leave immediately. Watching Minhyung march around only made the memory of the most embarrassing experience in his entire rapping career resurface in his mind as if it just happened yesterday. But his luck couldn’t get any worse when Minhyung was called over by the girls he was with.

Minhyung, who went by the name Mark now, walked over with a bright smile on his face. He gave a high five to each of the girls before making small talk. Jisung didn’t get how he had a grudge on someone who probably didn’t mean to embarrass him all those years ago. Mark seemed kind, nice, humble and harmless. In short, a thousand times better than he’ll ever be.

But Jisung caught him as he eyed one girl in the group and all thoughts of befriending Mark were thrown out the window.

“We should catch up some time,” Mark said, tapping your shoulder.

You smiled back before giving him a small nod, “Let’s see. Next week?”

Mark nodded before running off to the other direction where the rest of his team was. And it was the shy smile on your face and the teasing looks on everyone else’s faces that made Jisung think that he’d lost to another Lee again. Scratch that, one Lee but twice. Talk about ego downfall. 

It’s been about a month since it happened and as the talent show at the end of the first semester of junior year neared, Jisung desperately needed to get his shit together but he couldn’t. He’d been writing song after song for his final performance but none of them met his standard and it only left him in a bout of disappointment.

In a fit of pent up frustration, he found himself in Chan’s apartment on a weekday night about three days before the talent show asking for help. 

“So, you’re going solo for the talent show?” Chan spun on his swivel chair to face Jisung who was lying on his bed, staring at the empty ceiling. “Changbin and I are performing together. What if you join us instead?”

Jisung shook his head, “I promised myself I’d go solo this year. I’ll join you in the year-end performance though.” He pushed himself up to hand Chan his pocket notebook filled with scattered, unorganized writing before he lied back down. “I wrote a few lyrics but I don’t feel satisfied with any of them.”

Chan flipped the pocketbook open to the last page with spilled ink. It took him a few moments to read the words written in lazy, rushed hand-writing. But what fazed him more was the lack of correlation from one line to another. “This isn’t like you, ‘Sung. These are half-assed lyrics. Is something bothering you?” 

A sigh left Jisung’s lips as he traced letters in the air over his head, “Is this how it feels like?” 

“How what feels like?” Chan asked, turning around and facing his laptop to set up everything he needed. 

“I don’t know. Having a crush?” Jisung furrowed his eyebrows, struggling to admit the infatuation out loud.

The older boy’s eyes widened, “You have a crush?”

“Shocking, I know,” Jisung rolled his eyes but his heart stuttered at the mention of the topic, a particular person coming to mind. “That’s the thing, it feels so new. But I think I really do have a crush on someone.”

“Since when?”

Jisung counted the months in his fingers but he wasn’t entirely sure when it started at all so he answered unsurely. “A few months ago? More or less.”

“Okay,” Chan nodded, “it’s been a while. Why open up now?”

“Because,” Jisung finally sat up, feeling the weight of having to carry all those new emotions by himself slowly lifting off as he began to vent, “I thought it was just some happy crush but I got to hang out with her a month ago and I can’t stop thinking about it.”

“Oh my god, you’re smitten,” Chan said in astonishment.

“I only started feeling this down when I found out that someone else liked her and I feel like that guy has a bigger advantage because he knew her longer.”

Chan leaned back to think, slowly piecing each fragment of Jisung’s story to figure out who the mystery girl was. There was someone in mind but he wasn’t that sure of his hunch yet. “You’re usually fearless when it comes to taking risks. Why are you chickening out now?”

“I know it’s all in my head and this fear is irrational but it’s because I’m going against a Lee. If that isn’t enough, it’s Minhyung, Mark, whatever. Remember him? The Hanlim guy?”

The older boy nodded slowly, a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips when he found out his guess was right. Before he could tease Jisung about it, the younger boy pushed himself off the bed and paced the bedroom.

“Hyung, do you remember when you left us alone after the hockey game? I’ve never felt so nervous talking to someone my whole life. It was confusing because I was rambling—nonstop—but I couldn’t shut up too. I’m not sure if anything I said made sense to her. Heck, I was more shaken up talking to her than for this upcoming talent show that I have no performance prepared for and it’s 3 days away. Like, when we were talking at the mall, I had no idea what to do with my hands.”

Chan raised a brow, amused at the state he was seeing his friend in.

“I know! How could I get so conscious over something like that? Maybe it’s just these feelings. All these emotions, it’s just so foreign to me.”

Chan cleared his throat, “First of all, as far as I know, Mark and _____ were friends when they were kids. You are her friend, present day. We spend each day with her. Compare that to someone who sees her once every few months. Second, this is the only time you’ve ever called me Hyung ever since I moved here. And third, how can you expect me to help you with this when I’ve never dated anyone my whole life?”

Jisung stared at the boy, “I just wanted to let off some steam and I didn’t know who else to tell this to. You wouldn’t tell her right?”

“‘Course,” Chan replied, no questions asked.

“Bottomline is I just want to ask her out but I don’t want to be as typical as Mark.”

“Then don’t be typical,” Chan suggested, throwing the pocketbook back to the younger boy with a few more scribbles added—excerpts from Jisung’s ramble a few moments ago, “I think you have an idea in mind. Now, about your performance. Let’s work on it, shall we?”

The good thing about SSA was the fact that their written final exams didn’t weigh as much as their talent show performances did. During the last week of each semester, all students were required to present an output of the field they specialized in depending on the criteria set by their coaches.

The juniors were given the third day of talent week to present everything. In the morning, they decided to make an exhibit for all the visual artists. In the afternoon, they planned a program encompassing the film-showing of the film students’ short film, the theater students’ short play and the traditional dancers’ presentation. The most exciting part for their talent day came at night where all the modern performers and aspiring idols were given the chance to present.

You and your friends scored front row seats, partial benefit from being close with the organizers of the event. The night seemed like a concert with some acts matching the energy of the previous, keeping the hype up. But some performances would drastically contrast their predecessors and the vibe change would make everyone laugh. However, Hyunjin did a pretty good job of keeping the transitions as smooth as possible.

Nearing the end of the night, the 11A boys were finally called and the first to be up was Han Jisung.

There was a resounding applause from your batchmates when he finally came on stage. He wore a white unbuttoned polo over a plain white tee tucked into his denim jeans—simple, but it earned the whole crowd. Jisung, along with Chan and Changbin were known to be 3racha. They were known for being one of the few students in SSA to perform original tracks during the talent shows. 

They usually performed as a trio since freshman year, so when Han Jisung appeared alone on the stage that night, it confuses everyone.

“Ah, I see you’re wondering why I’m alone tonight,” Jisung said into the microphone. “No, no. We didn’t fight! Chan even helped me out on this one.”

Like the entertainer he was, Jisung continued to chat with the crowd to pass the time. 

Watching from the front row, you got a good view of Jisung. But you couldn’t help but think back to the day of the hockey game. 

“We’re awkward,” you said to your friends who were all staring at the man performing at the front.

One of them arched an eyebrow in confusion, “Why?”

“Remember when you all left us after the hockey tournament. We hung around the mall for a while and he,” you corrected yourself, “we realized that we didn’t know that much about each other even when we were in the same circle. So we hung out like we never hung out before, introduced ourselves like it was the first time and it was hilarious. I had such a fun time. And I expected that he’d have the same energy when we saw each other at school the week after. But he ended up just snobbing me entirely. Not really, though. Just casual, but not close like we seemed to be that afternoon.”

A sly smirk tugged at the corner of the former’s mouth, “You like him, don’t you? That’s why you’re disappointed.”

Your eyes widened at the confrontation. But before you could admit or deny it, the lights went dim. Finally making it back to the center of the stage, Jisung was finally ready to perform.

“I wanted to try out something different tonight, so I hope you are listening. This song’s called Close.”

And you weren’t dense enough to be oblivious of what he was talking about. 

You figured that you were getting ahead of yourself and that every lyric that seemed to match that afternoon you spent together was nothing but a coincidence. You tried to convince yourself that he only drew inspiration from that day just for the sake of writing a song which contrasted what 3racha normally did. But you knew Jisung didn’t know how to write outside of experience because he’d tried that and failed miserably every time.

But when he did draw on his emotions to conjure up the right mix of words for a song, he did it flawlessly. So when the beat changed right where his rap came, you listened. 

“It’s been over a year now, has it?” you asked Jisung who stood beside you. 

He stared at the empty stage, seemingly recollecting memories of that same night last year. “Yeah, mid-year talent show.”

While the others were busy getting their photos taken behind you, you and Jisung were busy reminiscing memories from that fateful night.

“Imagine that,” you said, “you were shy about asking me out but you seemed pretty confident performing up there.”

Jisung looked at the ground and avoided your gaze, “I was trained to do that. I wasn’t trained to ask someone out.”

“I almost thought the song was for someone else because I didn’t own a sports car,” you remarked, earning a light chuckle from Jisung.

“Chan told me to add it so it wouldn’t be too obvious,” he scratched his head before finally looking at you again.

You smiled at him, “I thought so. It’s still pretty cool though. To have a song written for me.”

“Does it beat the ring Mark bought you when you were in 8th grade?”

Your face contorted in confusion, “Are you kidding me? If Mark really had that much of an impact, I would’ve declined your proposition for a second date—with or without the song.” You shook your head before you turned and walk away.

Jisung tailed behind you, “So, between me and Mark. Who would you choose?”

“Who’s my boyfriend now?” you turned, spinning on your heel so suddenly that Jisung nearly bumped into you. He stared at you, smiling. Mainly, because he knew the answer to your question—which was your answer to his prior question, and if you didn’t make it more complicated the moment would’ve been perfect.

He just wanted to hear you say that you chose him and it would settle the (unnecessary) thought in the back of his mind that had bugged him for years on end. Maybe his losing streak against the Lees was over. Maybe the competition against them never existed at all.

A chuckle left his lips when he stared down at your annoyed face. In his mind, he made a strike on his mental scoreboard against the Lees.

He might’ve only won once but it was the only win that ever mattered.

The Responder- What we know so far

Yes, I am REALLY excited about this show. I can’t wait to see it and January still seems SO. FAR. AWAY. (or even worse: ‘spring’ as a possible release date which I saw being thrown around on Twitter, but Martin said January and I want to believe him. lol)

Anyway, the official(?) synopsis tells us that Chris (Martin Freeman) is “a crisis-stricken, morally compromised, unconventional urgent response officer tackling a series of night shifts on the beat in Liverpool. Whilst trying to keep his head above water both personally and professionally, Chris is forced to take on a new rookie partner Rachel (Adelayo Adedayo). Both soon discover that survival in this high pressure, relentless, night-time world will depend on them either helping or destroying each other. “

With the trailer being released now we can speculate a bit more about Chris as a character and a possible plot.

We know that trailers can be misleading sometimes, so all of this is highly speculative on my part.

Chris seems to take 2 different types of medication. I tried to make out what kind of medication they are, but I couldn’t figure it out. My best guess would be some sort of antidepressant or anti- anxiety meds. Or just caffeine pills to stay awake during the nights, who knows.

Chris has a family: a wife (?) and a daughter. They seem happy here, but appearances are deceptive. More about that later.

Being a police officer has taken a toll on Chris. Too much violence, too much death, too much corruption. And who knows what else.

Rachel: “Look at the state of him. He’s a mess.” Chris: “The job has ruined me.”

He also seems to be in therapy (maybe), talking about how he wants to be “a good bobby” and “normal”.

Chris is/ was involved with some bad people, one of them being ‘Carl Sweeney’ (that’s what the girl calls him) who may have have done  some favors for Chris in the past. (”After all I’ve done for you? You don’t have a choice!”) He now asks Chris to pick someone up, a girl named Casey. Chris really doesn’t want to, but he picks her up anyway because he does not want to piss off the bad guys.

Casey: “You’re working for Carl Sweeney, aren’t ya?” Chris: “Why is he so angry with you?” Casey: “ ‘Cos I robbed his cocaine.” Chris: “You what?”

Chris realises that delivering Casey to Carl will be a possible death sentence for her, because she stole some cocaine from him. He decides to help her and pisses off the bad guys in the process. Oh oh.

And how George keeps the ‘lie’ going for a very short bit before laughing slightly, by god he sounds so.. different? Like when he usually makes little lies to troll or stuff like that, he’s much more extra and keeps the bit going and- idk how to explain it but the tone of his voice is usually way different. Here he seems to, idk, struggle to keep that up. His laugh is also just like, somewhat toneless?

Fruits Basket Manga Review ch (90)- First pages ONLY.

I skimmed thro ch-89 to know the context of ch-90. it was Cinderella’s play. In this chapter, Kyo says early on, that time has passed since the play & that they are NOW starting their third year in high school. cool.

This part will ONLY focus on the 1st few pages of ch 90 abt (kyo & tohru) & stop before kyo’s memories starts, because the early pages contain:

Tons of new unexplored analysis of (kyo & tohru) characters that unfortunately was intentionally cut & worse! “changed” in the anime.

No space to add kyoko’s story in this post.

Kyoko’s story is full psychologically & socially.. I need to take a deeeeeeep breath before I unpack it. very deeeeep breath!

-Glimpses of Tohru (the silent grieving girl) Subtle Writing of Grief:

Right from the beginning, I hate how much insight into tohru’s grief & weakness as a human being is already there in the first few pages of ch-90 than the entire 3 seasons of the anime! From few pages we have:

Tohru’s seemingly delighted watching a video. Subtly, showcasing tohru’s grieve & paving the path for tohru’s trauma exploration later in the story. Grief is not sth you quickly past, that’s the most tragic misunderstanding of grief. Time will pass, so, you’ll be better & healthier. Really?!. Tohru’s inner desire to see her mom alive manifested in her words: “ like a photo comes to life” T_T.

The story/writing/manga is acknowledging tohru’s heartbreaking & NOT cute habit of talking to her mom’s cold dead photo! In the anime, tohru talks to her a lot in se01 & it’s up to you to see as as “ cute” as all the canon characters do or actually feeling it IS wrong. Kyo’s  “ what would she do if there were a video of her mom”! “ drives the point more abt tohru being a sad grieving human~not the “advice-giving, optimistic angel, & rain-stopping sunshine in the anime.

Tohru telling kyo to NOT catch cold connecting it to se01, ep 9 (haru’s ep) when tohru was afraid that yuki might catch cold & kyo noticed that! so now in se03, they’re dropping this plot altogether within the main anime, for what? we dont even know if this part would be included in whatever “ kyoko’s” spinoff content would be. -_-’.

That’s how you write subtle trauma such as (grief) for a main (female) MC. subtlety is the key. Respect the viewers intelligence & do it.

You don’t have to give her the long speeches or the many focused ep that yuki had. he’s the kind who confront himself inwardly constantly.

You don’t have to showcase drama, confrontation & force the emotions out like you did with kyo. he runs from his trauma & punishes himself.

Tohru buries her feelings! she’s different from both kyo & yuki. So, with her subtle & symbolic scenes are enough!!!The viewers will catch it if you show it, but ignoring it, cutting it & hoping the viewers will magically predict what you cut, is weird. But the anime isn’t even into us predicting nor subtly showing her cuz this tohru is NOT the tohru we have in the anime. How?

Simply cuz there is no kyo’s inner thoughts abt small things such as tohru’s photo obsession which subtly shows her grief & trauma. If kyo didn’t monologue abt her, tohru does not exist as she’s meant to be. You loose the subtle insights into tohru if you cut kyo’s inner thoughts. Not everything kyo thinks abt in regards to tohru is romance!!! That’s a very narrow & superficial look into the writing of kyo/’tohru dynamics. Flip the pages, hmm..cut this kyoru scene here & there cuz we dont want the anime to be only their love story.. But the story itself IS NOT only their love story at all. These pages/scenes here are abt tohru as a PERSON. Not tohru the lover...

- Writing Clashes between manga & anime: (Kyo’s Conscious Gradual Psychological Exploration vs Shock Value & Drama)

In ch 90 i really love all the inner self talking that kyo’s doing. It really explains why he ended up rejecting tohru so strongly. Also, going for a trip into kyo’s mind is hella exciting, new, refreshing & full of analysis-worthy exploration! Kyo’s inner psychological argument with himself is a psychologically-informed presentation of a tried guilty mind:

“ Why can’t I stop thinking of (kyoko’s words) lately? Acknowledging that he IS remembering kyoko & never forgot her. This is also supported in the anime itself. When he apologized to a sleeping tohru in se01, ep14 & se02, ep9 , confronting yuki in the stairs & other instances as well. 

“ It’s like a lid been opened & all the memories came pouring”. Acknowledging that kyo DID open his lid since se02, ep9 byt chose to run & not confront it due to his guilt of ruining tohru’s happiness by confessing his connection to her mom. 

“ pretending I didn’t know, pretending I forgot”. Here is a blatant clash in kyo’s writing (1) between the anime & manga (2) between the anime’s episodes themselves!!. In the manga, again kyo chose to ignore & pretended to forget. Death is NOT sth you forgot. Kyo saw kyoko bleeding & dying.  The anime chose to make him totally forget & it could’ve worked if they didn’t included all the canon moments of him actually remembering & pretending to forget. Is that lazy writing? or was the director for se03 different from se 1 &2 &? chose to NOT watch the two previous seasons? Why would you consciously include a contradicting depiction of your character on screen for thousands of confused viewers? Was the scene of kyo’s shocked gave upon seeing kyoko’s photo that artistically appealing that you forgot everything? I really have NO problem of kyo forgetting kyoko if that was written in the anime since se01, but it wasn't. that's why it sucks. 

“Is this payback? maybe I want to blame ME?” augh! i love this line so much! Directly hinting to the viewers that this is kyo’s one-sided guilt before his story with kyoko even started! subtly paving the path for the reason of his rejection of tohru” I dont want forgiveness. I want to blame ME.

-I don’t mind that the anime left kyo’s thoughts of kyoko until the climax in eo8, cuz ep 8 was SO well-done! Se03, ep 8 pacing was very suitable to (1) uncovering dark secrets & death, trauma, & guilt. (2)  for exploring the effects such secrets on kyo’s character, decisions, mentality. Also, the animation of kyo’s face all ep 8 was one of the most expressive facial expressions the anime has ever delivered! The eyebrows, eyes, mouth, tears, body languages, heartache was all 100% perfect. The fact that the following eps didnt have much time to express everything & chapters were cramped is not ep 8′s fault but the decision to have 13 eps. Kyo’s delayed trauma deserved to have its own ep.

-What I DO mind is the added scene of ep 6 where he freaked out upon seeing kyoko’s picture, the concept of shock is perfect & so suitable for an anime but was NEVER properly written into the anime itself from the beginning. On the contrary, the anime itself contradict such usage of such value. Good job ruining an otherwise perfect-depiction of two traumatized characters (kyo & tohru) with ONE scene.. -_-

Side Notes:

I thought tohru is narrating the 1st page in ch-90, turned it out it is kyo!!!! Kyo narrates sth? Kyo monologues? kyo has a POV? Just the setting of kyo doing that feels different! I duno if it cuz when that happens in the anime it’s always clash & drama! lol, or cuz it’s sth original!

Shigure’s “ it’s broadcasted all over the nation” is epic! XD! you know poor stupid kyo would fall for that! XD. kyo, you really are an idiot! XD... man this scene would’ve been epic comedy~ lol.

Tohru not knowing what a “dvd” is is outdated for the anime, but to still keep the sentiment of “her wishing she’d have a video footage of her mom”, they could’ve replaced her words with “ It’d be fun watching this play years from now & remembering all the details”. I know that to some, it feels weird that tohru doesn't have video footage of her mom in this era. but trust me, this is more common than you might think. My late brother, who’s way younger than me, doesn't have much video footage, he always felt awkward & preferred not to be filmed. We got photos for him tho~

Even if you want kyo’s knowledge of kyoko to be in the climax only. You can always include this scene of tohru & kyo in the first pages in the anime somehow. It doesn't even need to be abt the dvd even tho that’s manageable. Cutting this short scene of them talking abt videos, & catching cold is cutting tohru’s trauma from its core. Then, the old grandpa’s narration from se03, ep6 would at least have some backup in the anime’s canon.

Momiji & shigure are perfect as a comedic duo!

Pinning kyo at the beginning is epic~ kyo always gets the BEST romantic lines when he talks to himself. “ burning (tohru’s ) memories into my head or forgetting everything”. The torturing fire inside him is only distinguished by loving her but is also ignited by loving her~ what’s the solution~

An *idea*

Obi and Shirayuki traveling in the north for so long together that like, the lines of what is and isn’t appropriate for people who profess they’re only friends. Obi started it by using the ‘bodyguard’ card - with only the most honest of intentions - so that like, when Shirayuki follows suit, pushing back, testing his boundaries, this pattern of breaking convention and stuff spirals. Spiiiiirals

The way they dance around platonic and intimate is what really drew me in I guess~

Okay before this turns into a brainrot list. Here's the actual hot takes!

-Nerd spongebob is superior sponge. I know later seasons focus more on him being more babyish/childish. But ehh I miss his more nerdier personality.

- I'm okay with the spinoffs. I get so tired always having to clarify on the spinoffs all the time. Jeez do your own research, I ain't magic or working inside with Nick (I wish) I'm tired. I have my concerns and issues otherwise but like if you want to watch it then do it. If you don't then just don't.

- man why did it take so long for Sandy to interact with the other female characters? Why did it take so long for any of the characters to interact? Its random but I was thinking about this a while ago. I get the show is Spongebob Squarepants. Everything is from his POV. But a lot of the female characters could use a little more development. I want an episode focused on Mrs. Puff outside of boating school. She's into metal. She's already cool. Pls let her become a rock star pls. Or just another Sandy/Karen episode because they're so cute together. Its so weird to think about all of them only begun to interact recently.

- I really want them to bring back Pearl being gifted at math!! So much story potential. I'll be honest, I don't like whenever shows got that stereotypical teenage girl character™ no reason but they get a little annoying if you leave it like that. Pearl was apparently supposed to be more apart of the main cast but didn't get used so often. Come on!! I wanna see her hang out with Squidina!! I really like Squidina.

- there's no such thing as a bad episode with The Flying Dutchman. Never. Even the worst ones are still amusing.

- Dutchy probably doesn't pay child support. I just wanted to say that xD

- first episode any episode where Perch is orange, any episode where Perch is purple, 2nd movie, 1st movie.

Not a complete time line but ya kno. There's two timelines tho! Same as the first but kamp koral takes place in the beginning, then the patrick show. Then we start at the first episode. Then after that, the 3rd movie takes place between the 2nd and 1st movie.

- oh yeah! Perch's skin color probably changed with age. Some fishes change color with maturity! I headcanon orange being earlier, and purple being later.

I know you might point out the fish in Ripped Pants. He doesn't look much like Perch. Looks a lot older so I'm just gonna headcanon that it's Perch's dad.

- Kamp koral was kinda boring. The better episodes are when they focus on side characters or new characters. Idk its just not interesting when they focus it on the main cast. Excluding the one where Squidward and Patrick gets lost in the woods together. That was cute. Though my favorite episode is either the one with young Perch or the night cabin.

- season 1 is elite. It's my favorite season of all time. I could go on and on about what I love about this season but everything about it feels so wholesome yo.

- my favorite season amongst the modern era is probably 10? I know that's fan favorite of the modern era. I'd also say season 12 too. Which is an unpopular season due to the expressions but I find myself revisiting season 12 often. Its weird but fun to go back to every so often.

- a lot of spongebob has been ragged on unfairly. I know I always come for the middle seasons but even they are over hated. Its amusing tho how the middle seasons were so hated in the previous years. Nowadays they get more love because the kids who grew up with them has grown to appreciate them. Now its the modern seasons that get a lot of hate. Often times for just being different.

- ehh classic elites kinda ruin the show for me. I wouldn't say this is a be all end all. I still like the classic era and of course nothing can replace how witty and funny it was. But geez these people take it so seriously that it just sucks the fun out of it. Its fun to express your love for spongebob online but they always gotta rag on it and insult people who don't hate everything that came out after the movie. Its ironic considering I used to be a classic elitist. Every so often when I see them raging online, I'm like "jeez was that me?" It gets so exhausting to hate on the show. I also think its a little weird how they've martyred Hillenburg while also acting like the gods of justice by sending death threats to his colleagues and friends. Ehh they get pretty invasive at times. Its kinda uncomfortable.

- on that note. I also find it annoying how people are like "oh kids today will never know how good spongebob was!" Like the classic era doesn't constantly rerun on tv to this day. Jeez I was too young to even remember the classic era when it first began airing. Yet the classic era was what was on tv most of the time. Its like how adults assume kids don't know what vhs tapes/CDs are just because it isn't as popular as it used to. They don't magically disappear the moment something new comes out.

You know that reminds me, when I was a teen, I used to purposely act like I didn't know what some stuff were just to make adults feel like they're out of touch. "Facebook? what is that?" "Britney Spears? Never heard of her" it's so funny.

- mr. Krab's cheapiness went so out of control. Mans due for a spinoff just to rework his character so he can become tolerable again.

- from reading the spongeBob pitchbible and the mussel beach episode. My only thoughts were "spongebob has two hands, one for Sandy, one for Larry"

- the best episodes of Patrick is when he's being sweetly stupid. He's dumb but he knows and loves his friends. That's like the baseline for Patrick. He'd be terribly hurt if he upset them and he cares about them to the end of the earth. If you make patrick a jerk because he's stupid then you've failed to understand him.

- oh also, I'm pretty sure Bunny and Cecil are Pat's adoptive parents. Pat said in Home Sweet Pineapple that his parents kicked him out. I imagine when he did get kicked out, he wasn't prepared so he probably got adopted by the closest Sea Star family around. Thus the Patrick show was born! I already do find Pat's parents questionable. Like letting their daughter get lost like that, or mental training with a bell that managed to even have spongebob say they screwed Patrick up. Bunny and Cecil seem like healthier parents for pat. Plus he got another sister :)

- another thing, ehh Spongebob's parents and family in general are either questionable to outright awful. Man his uncle sherm really kicked out his own son??? captain blue couldn't listen to spange when he desperately needed help? Also spongebob's parents neither taking him seriously and seem to have their own issues too.

- on the note of poor family figures. I'm certain Mr. Krabs father Victor Krabs abandoned his family. Mr krabs grew up dirt poor with only his mother supporting him. I also assume Mr. Krab's other family is also kinda sucky since he didn't really introduce any of them to Pearl. Probably for a reason. Though his mom in the comics seems to have known about Pearl. She's probably the only krab in the family he really cares about.

- Sandy and Karen SHOULD get together. I don't make the rules 😤 😤

- patchy is good. I don't get why is he so hated. I also really like potty :)

- the 2nd movie is a comfort movie for me.

- they really brought the best music for the ScaredyPants episode. Also I find it kinda funny how they found such a hyper specific band for the show. The Ghastly Ones. A horror surf rock band. It fits too well and I like them enough to listen to their other songs just because.

- Ngl its satisfying when spongebob gets angry/frustrated. You dont see those emotions in him. Its either extreme joy or extreme sadness. It adds an interesting bit of nuance to his character.
