Oops I found more
@loopyhoopywrites  wrong, tea, and open.
@zmlorenz  choice, future, straight, morning. deny, work, scandal, diamond
and we’re just going to keep using the nano doc bc like. there’s a lot of words in there.
WRONG (Apocalypse AU)
"That's good?" *Dust says cautiously, not quite sounding like herself.* "But I don't need /thanked/ for that, I don't think that's on me."
"If you hadn't got me out, then-"
*Wilder sighs, loudly.* "/Why/ are you /talking/ about me in the wrong language?"
*Dust laughs and ruffles their hair.* "Go check on the bike.*
*Wilder races off.*
*Ashes steps back, releasing Dust.* "I - I will see you again, won't I?"
TEA (Expect to Fly)
“No Mark?” Kari asked
“He’ll meet us for tea later, but then he’s going to a film with his friends.”
“So he figured he’d just skip the whole day. Classy.” Kari grinned.
The exhibit halls were cool and dark. Casey and Jen went haring off looking for interactive displays, and Thornton hurried after them.
“This is... different,” I murmured, reading the first information display. Changed histories.
“I thought you hadn’t been here before?” Katie was beside me, not Kari.
“I - haven’t.” I looked up. “I mean – it's... different from what I expected?”
OPEN (Expect to Fly)
Kari narrowed her eyes as she studied Cooper. “You’re not about to get it.”
“I think I do. Your friend said he brought up your father. Amongst other things.”
I felt Kari tense beside me. “That is none of your business.”
“At the moment it is. Ifernia’s case is still open, and the two of you are related.” Cooper was unruffled. “You’re - sixteen, right?”
“Old enough for juvie.” Kari nodded, and met her gaze with a glare of her own.
“He’s been following me, did he say that?” I jumped in. “Ever since I started at school. In and out of school. And he’s saying things like they’re threats, like he and... someone else have something planned.” It sounded weak. This couldn’t sway anything, but it had to be said.
CHOICE (Expect to Fly)
Thornton took us back up and into the piano room, so yes, it had been her watching. Subtle. But I was probably the only one that had noticed; this world’s people very rarely looked up, and Vechtir... well, e wouldn’t comment if e had seen, but I also didn’t think e was the type to try and see in through windows. Just me that had that reprehensible habit.
Kari poured herself a cup of coffee (“black, like my soul,” she’d said the first time I’d seen her make the choice, all the while adding at least three sugars to it) and settled onto the couch.
“Tea, please,” Vechtir said, gently reminding Thornton as she hesitated over the tray. “No sugar, a splash of milk.”
FUTURE (Dorks ‘n’ Disasters)
“Then we get rid of them,” Badazz says. “We mix everyone in. We make this work and if she comes calling, we will face her as one town.” He offers her a hand.
“Thank you.” Ehild takes his hand quickly, almost like she thinks he’ll pull it back before she can. “I’m sorry I didn’t try harder.”
“Try harder from now on,” Badazz replies.
The party, as Ehild and Badazz start to talk steadily of plans for the future, draw back almost unnoticed to the door and then back out.
STRAIGHT (Dorks ‘n’ Disasters)
Nakai swings his flail at one and misses as it strides past.
Alaric unsheathes his swords and steps up, whipping his swords along its side. One draws a thin line of blood, and the orc growls at him.
Skadi fires an arrow and smacks another straight in the eye, sending it rocking backwards.
Ophi conjures another spell and drapes it over one of the last two orcs, misting its senses over.
It turns to the orc beside it and roars a challenge.
MORNING (Apocalypse AU)
*Aurora laughs.* "Well, when you put it like /that/." *She glances across the square as they reach it, marking the line of motorbikes that belong to the couriers. T's a queue beside them, of people wanting to send packages and messages.*
*The remains of the fire is still there, too, though it's just a mess of soggy ash and mostly-burnt wood.*
"You want more fire, huh? They don't look so good in the morning light." *Aurora laughs, gently.*
"That does not look revivable, in any case."
DENY (Expect to Fly)
I dropped my gaze to my hands, now that she’d let go of me. “I... don’t think he likes me much? Him or Ken. Chaucer’s kinda got ok, but-”
Kari sucked in a breath. “Hn.”
“You... aren’t denying it.”
“Stupid to try. It’s a little bit obvious?”
“Oh.” My shoulders dropped.
“Yeah, I thought they’d at least try.” Kari snorted. “Chaucer’s alright, though?”
WORK (Expect to Fly)
“See, that’s weird.” Kari glanced sideways at me, sticking her hand out for our bus. “He probably won’t try anything during school.”
“What is there to try?”
Kari shrugged again. “I don’t know how he works,” she said, stepping onto the bus. “Thanks man.” She showed the driver our tickets and he waved us on. “But we’ll keep an eye on him or something.”
I nodded. I couldn’t have given anything away, could I? We’d only spoken around it, not of it, not while we were around others.
SCANDAL
DIAMOND
Well, didn’t quite have all of them, but that’s still a lot of words.

You can’t keep away from fate | CH4
Pairing : Percy jackson x demigod!reader
summary : The daughter of destiny- literally, along with inevitability, compulsion and necessity. Being the child of a primordial goddess doesn’t really assure you a quiet calm life but when you return to new york after five years of being shipped off to boarding school, your once mundane life says goodbye.
contents page
Percy was excited for the first game of capture the flag of the spring . School had finally finished and he departed for camp for the week to the north shore of long island - he’d be back in his second home, cabin 2, along with all of his friends and of course- you.
He was scared that you’d change your mind and end up going back to europe whilst he was in the city, and he’d be unable to say goodbye to you- but fortunately you had been persuaded to spend up until the end of spring break training at camp. And of course, during the short time percy spent away you constantly sent iris messages to each other- phones not being a good option, and you had even managed to travel to see him a few times after school.
And now he was pumping with adrenaline, standing at the centre of the forest facing the opposing team - your team. For some reason, he felt the need to win, make you see just how awesome he was in real life, not just from the stories of his past adventures. He was bouncing up and down on the balls of his feet, readjusting his grip on riptide, ecstatic with exhilaration.
He had managed to catch your gaze, you stood side by side with annabeth- which was common now a days, you two were basically inseparable. Your long caramel hair was tied up in a ponytail, percy could see now that your black roots were more obvious now, perhaps an inch longer than when he first saw you. You held no weapons, which wasn’t fooling percy as he saw the two diamond and pearl bracelets you were wearing which you revealed to him would extend into 2 elegant drakon bone swords.
Your eyes locked onto his , which had been on you for a while now, and he raised an eyebrow at you as if to say “ready to lose?”
You grinned back at him and rolled your eyes, “as if”
Then the horn blew and your two teams retreated into their bases.
Percy was leading a small group defending their base- of course his team had opted him to protect the flag, they wanted to see the two of you fight.
It was common knowledge now that you held a lot of power but no one saw anything of it through the few weeks you had spent there so far. Today was the day they were going to see it, by putting you up against the camp’s most powerful demigod.
“It’s too quiet, you think it’s a trap?” Connor asked, shifted around side to side to check for threats.
“Yeah, it’s not like annabeth to attack late into the game, and clarisse would never want to stay away from a fight” Percy wondered out loud as his group made their way swiftly through the trees.
Then out of nowhere, several arrows rained down on them.
A few of the group immediately held up their broad shields, deflecting the arrows, but that only delayed their attack as multiple campers came as if out of nowhere and began to attack.
Percy was glad to finally have something to do, he slashed and parried as if it was second nature and was able to but the held of his sword into an ares kid’s helmet and he fell to the group with a satisfying THUMP.
Then out of the corner of his eye he saw blur dashing through the trees a few feet away. Surely to have been missed if percy wasn’t doing his best to keep his head attached to his neck.
“Percy go! we can hold them off!” Connor shouted over the heads of his attackers with a cunning grin on his face.
Percy gave him a short nod and ran off into the tress before anyone could stop him.
It wasn’t long till he found the place. The blue flag was stood in the centre of a clearing, which percy was glad to see- and around it curved a creek as if it was protecting it. He saw no sign of anyone there standing by it- including the guard. katie gardener was meant to be protecting it with a few of her siblings but he saw no sign of them...
It was oddly silent, he knew there was something wrong.
He stepped into the clearing, and cupped his hands to his mouth and shouted, “Come out then! I’m here!”
And a heard a soft giggle from above.
He cranked his neck and there you stood, arms crossed casually and leaning against the large elm tree you were in, “it isn’t very smart to scream at the top of your lungs when you’re trying to track down an enemy”
Percy smiled up at you.
“The flag’s down here you know, why didn’t you take it?” Percy raised an eyebrow as you pushed yourself off the tree.
You then jumped down, landing with the upmost grace and unfolded your arms, “where’s the fun in that?”
A smirk made it’s way onto percy’s face, “ you sure you know what you’re asking for princess?”
You paused a little then flicked out both hands. The two bracelets extended, unwrapping themselves from your wrists and transforming into two white drakon blades.
You lifted your left sword and beckoned percy forward.
He scoffed, then charged.
He slashed and thrust his sword with all his might but all you did was parried and blocked, not even attempting to hit him. It was almost as if you were putting in no effort, lazily swinging your sword as if your were doing it absentmindedly.
Percy liked to think you hadn’t tried to strike him because he was too fast to give you a chance, but it was more like- you were just making him tired.
As soon as this thought popped into percy’s head, his moves faltered. He’d been so preoccupied with trying to impress you with his excellent swordsmanship that he’d competed forgotten the aim of the game. But as he pondered on this in that millisecond, you crossed both blades over the hilt of his sword and pushed back causing riptide to fly out of percy’s hands and land 20 feet away.
You raised your eyebrows, looked him up and down the jerked your head to the side, trying your best to hide your smile,  “is that the best you can do?”
“You play dirty L/N” Percy shook his head, crossing his arms and stood as if he was scolding you.
“Don’t be a sore loser” you chided.
“Who said i was losing?” and with that percy lifted his left arm and swiped it across him.
You looked to your right and saw a turret of water making its way towards you with high velocity.
You immediately put up your hands, your swords retransforming back to your bracelets and you summons a large gust of wind to shield yourself from the water.
The stream made impact with your wall but it was travelling at such a high speed you were pushed back a few feet, your shoes skidding on the dirt.
During this, percy casually made his way to where his sword was lying, but he never made it to it.
Suddenly he felt the water disappear from his control and he looked back just in time to get a face full of the creek. He was thrown off his feet on impact, getting soaked in the process and he felt his back land firmly on the ground.
Percy sputtered, blinking the water out of his eyes and pushing himself up on his elbows.
he had no idea what had happened or why his water had suddenly committed mutiny, but he had no time to worry about that as you grabbed the blue flag and bounded off into the woods.
crap.
Percy pushed himself up but only succeeded in lifting his torso up as he fell back down, his head colliding with the ground, something was pulling him down.
ignoring the throbbing pain in his skull, he craned his neck to look at his feet. There, encasing both his ankles, were two solid mounds of dirt, they looked like they’d been grown around his ankles- but how did that happen?
He frantically looked around but there was nobody there, and the demeter kids were on his team!
But, who else could have done it?
Percy turned his head to the side to see your retreating form running with his team’s flag flying behind you and as he watched you disappear out of sight the mounds of dirt began to crumble and set percy free.
Just how powerful were you?
As soon as you made it back to your base the fighting that was occurring on your side seized, much to the others team’s dismay, and cheers erupted all around you.
Annabeth who had been standing guard hugged you immediately and then followed after that multiple hands were clapped on you back and before you knew it the ares cabin had lifted you up into the air.
It was amazing, you felt so elated. And sooner or later the ares boys holding you up were chanting, “Y/N! Y/N! Y/N!”
You couldn’t help but laugh.
The flag was still in your hand and you couldn’t believe you had actually achieved it, percy did put up quite a fight- you were very sure if you hadn’t got rid of his sword he would’ve skewered you.
the campers of your team were gathered around you, parading their way out of the forest, carrying you along with them.
Over the crowd you saw the other team clapping- at least they were good sports, you saw chiron laughing and grover who was blowing a conch horn. And then, you saw percy- leaning on a tree with his arms crossed.
He was still drenched- and you laughed at the thought, and laughed even more when you imagined the surprised look on his face when he realised that was your doing.
His eyes were narrowed and a smug smile was plastered on his lips as if to say, well played.
You shot him an apologetic smile but it gradually turned into a grin of pure happiness as he slowly began to clap for you, joining in with the cheering campers around you.
And he slowly drifted out of your view as the ares cabin rallied you down to the pavilions, the blue flag still displayed in you arms.

By Your Side Until My Death(9/?)
Chapter 9: The World We Made
Available on AO3
Princess Artemis, the eldest daughter of the kingdom of Olympus is to be married to her childhood nightmare. In a land where anything remotely magical is banned, Zoë fears for her and Ladon's life but knows that she could never leave the princess's side if she tried. Magical beings, a forbidden romance, family secrets, and safety for magic all wait beyond the kingdom's borders.
- 3rd person, will be completed eventually, teen, not completed, Zartemis
READ PLEASE. Okay, so there was a lot of background going on in this chapter.
Cohorts: These are like the cabins, there are 20 of them for the 20 cabins in the PJO series, I decided to use greek names and move some people around if they are Romans. The only time I used Roman names is if the greek counterpart was part of the royal family.
Praetors: Two people who are elected from any of the twenty cabins and are (presidential system) like the president.
Centurions: These are like the vice presidents, but there are a lot of them. They can make decisions but need the approval of both of the Praetors but if 75% of the Centurions want an action to be taken, they can go forward without Praetor's approval. But Chiron can put a stop to anything he believes is really bad but for the most part, he just guides and observes.
Normal People are just called campers and each Cohort has a cabin that corresponds with gods and their skills. If you want the full list of Cohorts/Cabins and their god/skills, look at the endnotes (There is more explanation in the chapter too)
--------------------------------
Annabeth with the help of Will and commentary from Nico gave the girls a quick tour of the camp. The first stop was the big house where the leaders met to talk. The leaders consisted of one immortal, a centaur named Chiron, and a group of twenty centurions that represented the twenty different cohorts, and two elected praetors from any of the twenty centurions. The centurions were divided based on skill and dominant traits, and in some cases who you were born to.
Percy for example was one of the only members in cohort three, the cohort of water. People that lived in the cabin were closely related to Poseidon, the immortal of seas, or water nymphs, or were incredibly good when it came to any water activity.
Annabeth was a mortal who was incredibly good at changing any form of magic and was in Cohort 6, where the children of Minerva usually went. They were known for Strategic thinking and Leadership, Annabeth was the centurion. Nico is a child of Hades, the immortal Death, The Underground, and Darkness, and is the centurion of Cohort 13. His younger sister Hazle was the only other occupant of Cohort 13.
Will pointed to a solid gold cabin, which seemed to either reflect the sun or was glowing itself. Cohort 7 was for children born to Helios, the immortal of Day. Healing was another large part of Will's Cohort. Will told them that he was a few generations removed but was a descendent of Helios.
"So you have solar powers?" Athena asked after Will finished talking about his Cohort.
"I'm honestly a better healer but I can heal and control light," Will said smiling bright enough to rival the sun itself.
"He also glows," Nico said smirking at the puppy-eyed glare Will sent his way.
"That's not important," Will shoot back at the smaller boy.
"He's the best medic we have," Annabeth said trying to get the conversation back on topic. The two continued to quietly bicker but there was no real heat.
"So how long has Jason been here for?" Thalia asked out of the blue looking away from the two boys over to Annabeth.
"He's been here since he was a toddler, why?" Annabeth asked confused.
"His surname isn't by any chance Grace?" Thalia asked quickly. Nico stopped his conversation and turned to look intensely at Thalia. Artemis, just like Annabeth was confused by the woman's question. She knew that Thalia had a little brother who was said to have died in a wolf attack but besides that had no family that she cared about.
"Why do you want to know?" Nico said before Annabeth could answer.
"I don't see why you need to know?" Thalia said narrowing her eyes at the shorter boy. Before another fight could be started Annabeth jumped in to supply Thalia with her answer.
"Yes, his full name is Jason Grace," Annabeth said still looking confused but trying to stop an oncoming storm.
"Where is he now? Can I see him?" Thalia's voice was shrill and urgent.
"Probably at the arena sparring with Percy, and I guess so?" Will offered to take them while Nico stated that he would be coming with them. Reyna opted to go with Thalia saying that they would meet up later that night. With that, the four hurried off towards the arena.
"What was that about?" Annabeth asked after the group had disappeared from sight.
"I don't know..." Artemis said turning to Zoë who shrugged. Annabeth then continued on with the tour as if nothing had happened. She showed them the climbing wall which was cover in lava. The amphitheater where the campers met at night for a sing-along, campfire, and a variety of other things. The stables held more Asseros' and a few unmagical horses, and pegasi. They then walked past the cabins, each held one Cohort and a number of campers. They ended their trip by walking past the armory then heading to the arena.
They entered the opened roofed area to see Thalia and Jason stabbing at each other. Nico, Will, Percy, and the feather girl sat on the sides watching them spare. Thalia had her long golden spear out, her shield sat on one of the benches next to her brown leather bag. Jason on the other hand was fighting her with a golden gladius.
The three walked over to the group that was already sitting to watch the two dance around each other.
"What did we miss?" Artemis asked sitting down next to Reyna who turned to her with a sarcastic smile.
"Nothing much, except that Jason is Thalia's presumed dead little brother. And they are both the children of Jupiter, the immortal of the sky. But besides that, not much." Artemis and Zoë both gave out shocked reactions before turning to watch the two reunited siblings spar.
The match ended with Thalia disarming her brother and a golden spear pointed at his chest.
"I win," Thalia said grinning at her brother.
"My turn!" Percy yelled grabbing a bronze sword running up to the spot where Thalia had just stood.
"Water first," Jason said grabbing a cantine and drinking the water that poured from it. He then walked over to the blond positioning himself lower to the ground getting ready to go again.
"Bro... what if we had a homoerotic sword fight..." Percy said smiling like an idiot before striking, they exchanged a few blows before backing away giving the other time to think. "jk, jk," Percy said referring back to his earlier comment. The two exchanged a few more swings before Percy spook once again, "...Unless?" The ravenett struck once more causing Jason to get knocked to the floor.
"I am literally the straightest person here," Nico said shaking his head at the Percys comment.
"What do you mean by that?" Artemis asked. The elder princess was confused at their language, straight? homoerotic? And why no one else found it strange that the two boys were acting playfully romantic towards each other.
"By what?" Nico asked looking at her instead of the stone floor.
"Straight?" Artemis asked her cheeks burning as the others looked at her like this was a ridiculous question.
"Straight is another word for someone who likes the opposite gender," Annabeth explained.
"Are you implying that males can love other males? And females other females?" Athena asked astonished at the information.
"While yea, there's nothing wrong with loving who you want to love," Will said softly. "I mean Nico's my boyfriend," He said smiling and gesturing to the boy next to him. A blush covered the pale boy's cheeks as he mumbled something about 'Significant annoyance.'
"Really?" Zoë and Reyna said simultaneously.
"Yea, and don't let anyone ever tell you differently," Nico said his eyes darkening "Because they are  wrong."
Artemis felt a weight lift from her that she never knew she was carrying. She had never been interested in being intimate with any male. The thought of marrying any man and having his children make Artemis sick. The news that this wasn't a bad thing, that she could love a  female, a girl!  It made her happier than she could say. Zoë, Reyna, and Thalia wore a similar expression. Athena just looked thoughtful and happily surprised.
Artemis turned to look at Zoë and smiled at the older girl, for some reason her aunt's words from the day before came back to her,  "So who is it? I also know the face of heartbreak, whether you know it or not. " Artemis remembered telling her aunt that she loved no one, only for her aunt to ask her if she was sure. Then before her aunt could say who she believed her heart belonged to, Hermes had interrupted. Artemis wished now more than anything that she had gotten to hear her aunt's last words before they fleed.

Fandom Quest ch 12
Tumblr media
A Hela Big Pain In My Ass
The fight for Asgard grew more life-threatening by the second. Hela was in the palace fighting Thor, and Katy was helping Heimdall escort all the citizens down the rainbow bridge towards the Bifrost to help them escape, Hela’s undead armor chasing after them. Valkyrie and Bruce were flying above in the Grandmaster’s party ship from Sakkar, following Hela’s undead and oversized dog as it ran down the bridge towards the others.
Valkyrie stopped shooting the space machine gun long enough to call to Bruce who was flying the ship. “This stupid dog won’t die!”
Banner hesitated, looking back at her while she spoke then back to steering, deciding if he should use the Hulk or not, worried he’d lose control like last time. Finally coming to a conclusion.
In the meantime, Heimdall threw his cape off from his shoulders and stood his ground with his sword in hand, preparing to fight the dog. An arm was suddenly in front of him, keeping him back. When he looked over, Katy was the person it belonged to, causing a confused look to take over his face. “Iro?”
“Don’t worry about the dog, Heimdall.” Her eyes were fixated on the bridge in front of her, watching the dog run closer and closer. Any second now...
Bruce stood from his seat at the controls and walked over to Valkyrie. “Everything’s gonna be alright now. I got this.” Valkyrie gave him a confused look, looking to the bridge then back to Bruce as he continued. “You wanted to know who I am?”
“What the hell are you talking about?”
“You’ll see!” he replied, jumping out of the ship and down to the bridge.
After a couple of seconds of Katy holding Heimdall back, Bruce hit the bridge like a pancake being flipped in a pan. The large dog stopped and sniffed at the form. A disappointed look on appeared on Katy’s face, but she held her ground, keeping her arm in front of Heimdall.
“Now?” he sounded worried, shifting his feet to get a better grip on the bridge.
“No,” Katy replied, voice stern as the citizens cried in fear.
The dog got closer, preparing to bite down on them before he suddenly stopped and was drug backward, nails scratching on the bridge and tearing pieces off of it. He was then swung around to the other side and dropped. He staggered back to his paws, looking over his shoulder at just what threw him.
Now standing big and green as the Hulk, Bruce roared in challenge. Valkyrie was now completely and shocked about what was happening, shaking her head at the situation. The dog growled back, charging Bruce. With his Hulk strength, he braced for the impact as the dog’s jaws clamped down on his shoulder and dragged him across the bridge before Bruce flipped himself and the dog over the ledge and into the water.
“Ya know -” Katy chuckled, crossing her arms as she turned to look at Heimdall, “-  what I don’t get, is why you were prepared to fight the dog when you can see the future and knew that was going to happen.”
The man opened his mouth to speak. It was stuck like that for a moment before he closed it. “I thought I had an answer to that, but I don’t.”
Katy chuckled yet again. Turning around she noticed the undead fighting the civilians. She slapped Heimdall’s shoulder to gain his attention. “Time to hero up, Heim,” the woman smirked, pulling her own sword out of its sheath.
Heimdall also prepared to fight, glancing over at her as she spoke. ‘Why does this woman speak when I can’t understand her?’ he thought, shaking his head to make himself focus on the task at hand.
The two charged forward, slashing away at the dead army. While fighting the undead, one cut the man’s leg, making him fall to his knees and he swung his sword around his head, cutting two in the abdomen, killing both, even though they were already dead. One he had missed, and as it brought it’s sword down to strike a finishing blow on Heimdall, it was shot through the chest, revealing two figures standing behind it.
The man-made of rocks rested his blaster over his shoulder, walking up to Heimdall who laid on the ground, moving his arms out of the defensive position they were in so he could see the person in front of him.
“Hey, Man-” Korg began, “- I’m Korg, This is Miek. We’re gonna jump on that spaceship and get out of here. Wanna come?” As if on cue, the sound of spaceship engines rang out through the air. Heimdall looked over his shoulder and at the fog in the direction of where the sound was coming from.
At that moment, Katy sliced down another enemy and kicked another off the side of the bridge, huffing a laugh as a small smile spread across her face. Memories of the day in New York when she got her scar flashing through her head. The roaring engines gained her attention and she spared a glance toward the fog. All the civilians looked to where the sound was coming from as well, Korg and Miek holding off the undead for the time being.
Through the fog, coming closer to the bridge, a figure of a person was slowly revealed. First, the golden horns of their helmet, then slowly the rest of their body, revealing them to be holding their arms out on a heroic pose. “Your savior is here!” The ship got closer and the fog finally cleared to reveal the large vessel.
Katy crossed her arms and her smile widened at the God of Mischief’s words, a strange feeling in her stomach in anticipation of talking to the god. She herded the crowd closer to the ship and urged them aboard.
“Did you miss me?” Loki asked, prancing off the ship and into the crowd of people. “Everyone, on that ship now!” he ordered, gesturing for everyone to go to the platform of the ship he had just stepped off of.
Loki then strode towards Heimdall and Katy, instantly stopping when he saw Katy. “Iro? What are you doing here?” he asked, giving her a once over before settling on her face, the scar he left on her slighting distracting him.
She shrugged and folded her arms over her chest, if only to give some movement to her body.“Your brother called me to come help.”
“How?” He was confused by the answer. Thor didn’t have a phone, did he? Loki wasn’t sure his brother knew how to use one in the first place.
“He prayed, Loki. I’m a god as well, I hear prayers addressed to me.” Katy chuckled half-heartedly, sending him a grin. She frowned and waved her hand. “Stop staring, I’ve grown to like it, no hard feelings.”
Rose snuck onto his cheeks as he coughed, a bit embarrassed by having been caught. To hide his expression, he turned to Heimdall with his usual smirk.
“Welcome home,” Heimdall greeted. “I saw you coming.”
“Of course you did,” Loki replied before the group stood their ground, prepared to fight the horde.
The fighting continued, and Thor had just come rumbling onto the bridge. Katy couldn’t help but smile and let Immigrant Song play in her head, it was too much of a historic moment in her mind. He fought, and fireworks came from the party ship as Valkyrie presented her grand entrance into the fight, a smirk on her face as she strode down the bridge. The display of pops of colors drew the undead’s attention and they raced in her direction.
Stab, duck, parry, jab, swing, block. It continued like that for a while and eventually, both brothers, huffing and puffing from the fighting, found each other. Katy finishing off her own enemies before joining them in the conversation.
“You’re late,” Thor quipped.
“You’re missing an eye,” Loki drawled, glancing to Katy as she walked over. “And why bring her?”
Katy kicked down her last enemy, a sigh of relief escaping her lungs as she looked over to the brothers. Something was off. The two seemed to be standing in different places, and Hela seemed to be closer. Her eyes widened and time seemed slowed down as she looked to Hela, seeing one of her daggers zooming through the air, headed straight towards Loki.
Before Thor had an opportunity to respond, He heard Katy yell Loki’s name and suddenly she had tackled him to the ground, the two flipping a couple of times down the bridge before slowing to a stop with Katy on top. “What the hell?” he mumbled, looking over to Hela, and not noticing anything.
When the pair stopped, they were both breathing heavy, Katy looking Loki over for any wounds. “Are you alright?” she asked in a worried tone, feeling his chest and torso for any wounds, sighing a bit when she didn’t feel any.
“I’m fine. What was that about? Nothing happened,” he responded before realizing he felt something warm and wet soaking through his clothing. “Iro?” he asked, narrowing his eyes a bit.
“Aw shit,” she hissed, holding herself up with one hand on Loki’s chest. Loki sat back and pulled her up with him before he used his free hand to pull the blade out. Katy groaned in the process and holding her hand over the wound in her chest, even though it wasn’t going to do anything for the entry point on the back.
Loki grimaced and quickly shifted to lay her down on the bridge, ripping a piece of his cape off and applying pressure to the wound. “Why in the nine realms did you jump in front of me?” he asked, frantically trying to come up with a solution to save her. “Heimdall!” he called. “Heimdall! Help me, please! Someone!”
She groaned from the pain, coughing a little and causing blood to fall down the side of her mouth. “Because I… I couldn’t let you die, Loki,” she whispered, taking his hand into hers. She began to feel cold and tired, struggling to keep her eyes opened.
Heimdall had rushed out of the spaceship when he was called, sighing a little from the scene happening in front of him. He had seen it, and knew exactly what was going to happen. So he stood by and waited, rolling his eyes at Katy’s actions.
In essence, the goddess was faking it. The wound was real as ever, but both he and Katy knew it could be healed semi-easily. The woman was just taking the chance to prank Loki, the God of Mischief. If anyone was able to pull it off her knew it was her.
“Why, though?” Loki asked, squeezing her hand tightly as he stared at her eyes, praying that they wouldn’t close.
“Because…’cause you’re too… important to... us.” A tear fell from her eye as she gave him a small smile and closed her eyes. Heimdall almost quirked a smile at the theatrics.
“Katy! Don’t close your eyes,” he was panicking now, gently hitting her face to try and make her wake up.
Heimdall stepped forward and knelt down. “Loki, let me take her. You need to help your brother with the fight.” He looked up to Thor and Valkyrie who were currently fighting Hela.
Loki also looked back to his brother and nodding before standing and looking to Heimdall. “Try to save her.” He then ran off to help Thor finish their crazed sister.
Heimdall looked down at the woman in his arms. “That was mean.”
“Shut up, I’m hilarious,” she pouted, not opening her eyes. “But I need a nap to heal this.”
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
“Mother? Where are we going?” A young girl, around twelve, asked as she followed close behind her mom to some mysterious place in the forest for others like her.
“I place for demigods to train in safety. Don’t worry, you already know one person there.” Katy smiled back at her daughter, holding her dress up whenever she stepped over something so it wouldn’t get caught.
Also following them, was Loki. Since this was a scene was all inside Katy’s head, the girl currently dreaming about a memory, Loki wouldn’t be seen as he intruded on her privacy. “She has a daughter?” he mumbled to himself, keeping a good distance just in case. “She looks so different compared to now.”
Alkestis’ eyes lit up with her mother’s words, a small smile spreading across her face as she skipped closer to her mom. “Who do I know?”
“Perseus! He’s here too.” Before Alkestis could cheer with joy about being around her crush, they were greeted at the gates of the camp by Perseus himself. “Hello, Percy.” Katy smiled.
“Hello, Goddess Iro. Hello, Alkestis.” The boy smirked at the two girls, leading them inside the camp.
“Perseus? How long do we actually stay here?” Alkestis asked, trotting up next to him so they could talk, Katy further in the back.
“Until you’re able to go on quests without any assistance. Don’t worry, I have requested that I be your partner in training.” He smirked yet again, elbowing her slightly.
The conversation between the two continued while Perseus gave the tour. Every now and then, Katy would get the feeling that someone was watching her, other than all the other demigods in the camp. Although, when she looked around, no one was to be found, even when Loki was standing right next to her. She furrowed her eyebrows and shook her head once more.
The three then ended back right where they had started, the gate of the camp. “Good luck, Alkestis. Please be safe,” Katy smiled, wrapping her daughter in a tight hug.
“You’ll be watching me, right?”
“When I can, my child. I promise. If you need me, just pray to me.”
Alkestis smiled, nodding as a response, and then he frowned. “I am a little worried, though. About what kind of person I will become with this camp,” she whispered, still held in her mother’s arms. When she finished speaking, the two pulled away, Katy cupping her face.
“Remember what I taught you?” Katy asked, raising an eyebrow as she waited for a response.
The two spoke in unison, each smiling more as they continued to talk. “It is not in the stars that hold our destiny, but in ourselves.”
“I doubt I can forget that, mother,” Alkestis chuckled, letting their foreheads touch.
The woman nodded. “Good. Now stay strong, and live well. I’m being called,” Katy responded, ruffling her daughter's hair before disappearing and the whole scene going dark for a moment.
Loki was a bit confused and also worried that she might have died, but when thunder sounded above him and the sound of rain hitting the ocean and rocks made him relax, a new scene playing through Katy’s head.
A few years had passed and Alkestis and Perseus had now grown to eighteen and were planning on getting married, something Katy and Alkestis were both thrilled about. Recently, the two had gone on a quest that required them to travel by sea, but it hasn’t gone well. The rain continued to wash the blood off of Katy and Alkestis. The goddess’ dress was soaked with rain and blood, blood from her daughter who was being held in her arms.
“Alkestis! Don’t close your eyes, my child. You are going to be just fine, I promise,” Katy’s voice was frantic and shaky as she placed her hands over her daughter's wounds, using a spell to try and heal her.
“Mother… no,” Alkestis whispered, holding onto her mother’s hands. “Do you remember… remember what you had said at camp? That I make my destiny?”
Katy dropped her head, a bolt of lightning flashing above head as she got that same feeling from years ago, but this time she knew what it was.
“How dare you!” She snarled, her voice deeper than usual. Katy stood to her feet, turned on her heels and rushed forward towards where Loki was standing. Without hesitating, she threw a punch at Loki.
The change in scenery from a ship on the sea to a ship in space violently jarred her mind but she focused on the object of her anger.
Loki stumbled back in shock, ignoring the punch in favor of staring at her. “Katy! You’re alri-”
“Shut up, Loki!” she yelled, quickly standing from her bed and pushing him against the wall, pinning him with her forearm to his throat.
Her cheeks were wet from tears, and she looked how she did in the dream. She was a bit shorter, slightly thicker, her hair was a darker blonde and much shorter. It now rested on her upper back, above her bra line, as opposed to her lighter blonde hair down to her tailbone. And lastly, her eyes were more of an ocean blue, instead of the Caribbean green.
The sudden awakening stripped Katy of the illusion she had placed upon herself all those years ago when she first met Chuck.
“My memories are not something for you to invade! Those are private!”
“I’m sorry-” he was cut off once more, the girl groaning in frustration as she barged out of the room to some sort of space viewing area to calm herself.
About twenty minutes after, Loki had also walked out, the room quiet other than the sound of his footsteps as he walked in, sitting down next to her and also looking out at the view. “May I ask...” he hesitated, to finish, looking over to Katy. She looked calmer now, but lost in thought. “May I ask how she died?”
Katy glanced at him through his reflection in the glass window but didn’t bother turning around. She could see that he was focused on her. “Perseus betrayed her. Took orders from his father to kill her while they were out at sea. Really all he did was cut her and throw her in the water to let the sharks finish her. Which is what happened.”
“It must have been hard on you and your husband,” he commented, jumping a little when Katy quickly stood from her spot, looking down at him. Loki fidgeted under her stare.
“What I’m about to say will sound strange, but I need you to take me seriously.” She stood straight, crossing her arms. All Loki did was furrow his eyebrows, waiting for an answer. “I know you have the cube and I don’t care. All I care about is stopping your death.”
That caught his attention. He also stood abruptly, noting how he was much closer than he thought to the woman. “How did you know I have it?” he whispered, not wanting anyone else to hear.
“Because I know things.”
“Why do you want to stop my death? How do you even know I’m going to die? How am I going to die?” he questioned, speaking a bit faster with each question.
Katy took a breath, breathing in his sent, which happened to be amazing. After clearing her throat, she held up one finger. “Because… because I - we care about you. We all do and you don’t deserve to die.” She held up a second finger, “I know things.” A third and final finger was held up. “Thanos will snap your neck. You’re going to die protecting Thor. It’s a brutal death, and isn’t one I would like to see again.”
“Again?”
“Whatever! Yes!” she snapped, taking a breath and looking up at him. Damn, he’s tall.
“Why should I take you seriously? Give me one good reason. After all the things I’ve done,” he scoffed, shaking his head and rolling his eyes.
“Because...” She was quiet for a moment, trying to think of an answer. Then she smiled. “It’s not in the stars that hold our destiny.”
He instantly looked back to her when she started to say the quote, a small grin appearing on his face. “But in ourselves,” he finished the line, Katy returning the smile. “Fine. I’ll go with you. Although, what’s going to happen to Thanos?”
“I have a plan for him later. For now, I need you to make an illusion of yourself that he can grab and kill, and give it the real Tesseract.”
“What?” he exclaimed, eyes wide as he chuckled and shook his head. “You’re insane! Why would we hand him the Stone?”
“Because that’s how it needs to happen. He can’t know that you’re still alive. If the stone was fake, he would know and would come looking for you.” Loki groaned in frustration, pinching the bridge of his nose before finally giving in.
Once everything was set in place, Katy teleported the both of them to her new home in Othos, landing in the living room. When they landed, she groaned in pain and lost her balance, knocking things off of a display which caused them to break. Before she could cause more damage, Loki helped her catch her berings again. “You’re still healing. You should rest, Katy.”
Katy shook her head in an effort to rid herself of the dizzy spell. It only made it worse. “No. I don’t have time for that. I have to-” she collapsed into Loki’s grasp as she passed out again.
Finally healed, she woke up hours later in bed and searched around the house for Loki, finding him in the living room, reading a book about Shakespeare. “Loki?” she questioned. For a moment, she thought he was his actor, but it was her mind playing tricks. Or so she assumed anyway. She did lose a lot of blood playing her little trick. “I have a meeting to go to in preparation for this war. I need you to come as well.”
He didn’t look up from the book. “Well good morning to you too. Yes, I’m fine. You’re welcome for placing you in bed, it wasn’t a problem at all.” He spoke in a mocking tone, making her chuckle in response as she walked to the front door, grabbing her keys.
“My apologies. We really need to go, Loki.”
As they pulled up to the castle, Katy cast an illusion on herself, making her look the same as during the fight with Hela: longer and brighter hair, Caribbean green eyes, skinnier, a bit taller, and clear skin free of every scar except for the one on her eye. Loki raised an eyebrow but didn’t comment on her actions. It wasn’t his business.
At the meeting, Kate and Sam were skeptical about Loki, pretty much keeping their eyes on him the whole time and only turning away when Katy would glare. After the hours at a table, Loki and Katy got back in the car and headed towards her base. As they drove, Katy let down the illusion again as she spoke.
“I apologize for the royals. They know the stories about you so they’re worried. But they kinda had to trust you since I was the one who brought you here.” She chuckled awkwardly, rubbing her neck a bit as she explained their actions.
Loki nodded. “I don’t blame them.” He turned to look out the window but his thoughts didn’t stray from her. Twice now he’d seen her change faces like he often did. It made him wonder who was the real persona.
Once they got to the base and Katy stepped out of the car, Loki following suit, she put the illusion back up again. She needed to conserve her energy for the fight as much as she could, but also didn’t want anyone to see her true looks. It was almost a weak point for her.
Each person they walked by greeted her as she walked down the halls to Kyoya’s lab, her heels clicking with each step. “Kyoya, my boy!” she exclaimed, hearing a quiet ‘oh god’ from said man as she walked in. Trotting up to him, she draped her arm across his shoulders, her joyful face changing to serious. “How’s that big one comin’?”
He rolled his eyes. “It’s coming, ma’am. I’ll have it done next week,” he gave a smile and straightened his back, proud of his progress.
Katy nodded, patting his shoulder as she did so. “Good, good. It’s critical that it’s done by tomorrow. Including testing,” she stated, giving him another grin. “I have other things I need to attend to, so I’ll see you later!” She waved, walking back towards the doors, which was where Loki stood.
“But ma’am! This is much bigger than the other one!” he protested.
Katy stopped in her tracks, took a breath, and spun on her heels. “Wanna say that again?” her tone was darker, which honestly kind of surprised Loki. She didn’t seem to be the aggressive type usually, so this must have been important. Kyoya only shook his head response, looking down at his feet to avoid eye contact with her. “Good! I’ll see you later.” With that, she was gone again, Loki following her still.
“Where to?”
“There’s a training ground I use. I need your help, and Kate’s, with my training,” she explained, the two getting back in the car, her illusion dropping yet again as she drove. For a while, they drove through the forest on a dirt path. Finally they came to a stop, but it didn’t seem to be their location.
They stepped out and Katy began leading him down the smaller path. It was likely used for hiking, but he assumed only she came out here often enough to make the path. She did have teleportation at her disposal.
Earlier, during the drive, Loki had finally connected all the dots when it came to Katy’s illusions and actions from earlier. It gave his stomach a weird feeling. “Well, Katy,” Loki began, getting the girls attention, the two’s speed matched. “I’m pleased to know you trust me enough to show your true self.”
Katy chuckled and raised an eyebrow, glancing at him. “What do you mean?”
“Your true self is vulnerable and I see it. You hide yourself from outside contact and yet not from me.” A grin crept onto his face as he spoke, looking her up and down as the two stopped walking.
She now laughed, shaking her head. “Loki, I don’t know what you mean by ‘vulnerable’. Care to elaborate?” Katy placed her hands in her pockets and stopped walking, waiting for him to continue.
He groaned, a bit frustrated that she wasn’t getting it. “By Odin’s beard, Katy!” He shook his head, looking her in the eyes after. “You feel vulnerable without the illusion, you aren’t on guard when you don’t have it. Which means that you trust me, are comfortable with me, and feel safe around me. I’m also assuming you hold other feelings toward me as well,” Loki explained, crossing his arms once he was done talking.
Katy’s grin faded as he spoke. She looked down at her feet to hide her blush, hoping he didn’t spot it. “Well… maybe. I never thought of that.” She was lying with that statement and he knew it. Before Loki could continue, she had pointed behind him to some vines hanging from a branch, hiding another walkway. “We need to go that way, to the waterfall.” Katy walked past him to go in the direction she was gesturing to.
“Don’t change the subject. Do you, or do you not feel safe with me around?” he asked, gently grabbing her wrist to keep her from walking any further.
The blush instantly came to her cheeks again as she whirled around to look at him, baffled by his actions. So much so that it took her a moment to wrap her head around the question, although she was mainly lost in his eyes.
“Okay! Yes, I do. Satisfied yet?” she huffed, pulling her arm away and taking a breath before continuing the walk.
Her response had surprised Loki. He hadn’t actually expected a confirmation from her, given his reputation. He had answered the mystery as to why she would drop the illusion around him, but why did she feel safe with him? Why would she let her guard down? He still hadn’t figured out the other feelings she was hiding. The woman intrigued him on a level he’d never known. She was… strange. And he wanted to figure her out.
“For now,” he finally answered.

Y’ALL i saw Moulin Rouge in Boston with @eyesclosed-blinktwice, in its pre-broadway run and OH BABY! I’ve waited this long to write about it cause i tried to get tickets to see it again (it was THAT good) but i waited too long/lost the ticket lottery a bunch OH WELL. here’s a semi-coherent recap of this spectacular spectacular!
first things first, AARON FUCKING TVEIT. GOD. WHAT A GODDAMN MAN. *deep breath* so I’ve casually loved Aaron Tveit since…2012?? like its been a while?? this, combined with the fact that he’s Broadway royalty made watching him perform live SO SURREAL. like  a "wow there’s Aaron Tveit, i can see his face and he’s singing is this real life” kinda vibe. and man did he SLAY this role. I REALLY loved his interpretation of Christian. In act 1 he so effortlessly captures the idealistic dreamer, moving through every number with boundless charm. In act 2 he really delves into Christian’s insecurities and jealousy and truly unravels, which was more interesting than the movie where he kinda just turns into a sad loverboy after Satine goes to the Duke? his chemistry with Karen Olivo is palpable, they played off each other so well, every interaction they had was downright swoon worthy. and speaking of swoon worthy…his VOCALS. I mean I think he’s my favorite male voice on broadway. you couldn’t help but be captivated when he started singing. i MELTED when he sang Your Song, it was so smooth and sweet. he slid through every song in the extended Elephant Love Medley with ease, rocked the Green Fairy/Chandelier number and ACTIVELY MURDERED ME with Roxanne (but more on this later)
and if it wasn’t enough to have one Broadway legend up on stage, we also were graced with queen of everything KAREN OLIVO BABY!! HOOOO BOY IS SHE AMAZING Y’ALL. i mean the SECOND she enters on that trapeze/swing, your eyes were glued to her for the rest of the show, and not just cause she’s always in a dazzling costume. I was 1000% starstruck, like she really is the sparkling diamond. she commands the stage, belting like nobody’s business, her voice is JAWDROPPING. she gave me goosebumps singing goddamn Firework by Katy Perry and if anyone can make me like that song…now THAT is talent hahaha. Karen also really shined in the Shut Up and Dance Medley, in the What’s Love Got to Do With It addition to Elephant Love, and….you know what no, she shined in every number. end of story. I also ADORED Karen’s adaptation of Satine. She is way more strong willed and autonomous, less like the movie-version-delicate-flower. She knows what she wants and is not afraid to get it. I think the fact that they made her know that she was dying really helped add to this. She’s fierce and powerful and tender and loving and DOWNRIGHT AMAZING.
the supporting cast was also INCREDIBLE. Sahr Ngaujah played Toulouse-Lautrec SO WELL, i loved that he was less comedic plot device and more nuanced bohemian artist. He was funny and charming but also heartbreaking, like when he told Christian he once loved Satine. His Nature Boy was haunting. He had one line standing up to the Duke along the lines of “I am an artist sir. You should tremble at that” and it was delivered with such unequivocal POWER that the whole theater cheered. Tam Mutu was great as the Duke, scary and honestly downright hot hahaha I’m glad they made him less of an insufferable fool, more of an actual threat. Danny Burr as Zidler kept the crowd’s energy up (as if we needed it, this show is so high energy its practically a concert!) and was super entertaining. Robyn Hurder is an ASTOUNDING dancer and kills it as Nini and Jeigh Madjus really stands out as the heartbreaking Baby Doll.
the musical was faithful to the original songs, with the omission of One Day I’ll Fly Away (which i missed tbh), Like a Virgin, The Show Must Go On (also missed). The standouts were: Lady Marmalade, which was had the audience singing and dancing right from the start, Elephant Love Medley, which had some amazing additions, was grandiose, and ended with that iconic eiffel tower/umbrella dance. the whole stage was transformed into a starry night, stars even projected onto the theatre ceiling! and of COURSE Come What May, which Aaron and Karen sang with such skill, tenderness and love. IT. WAS. BEAUTIFUL. AND ROXANNE HOOOOO BABY. at first i was apprehensive about just Aaron singing it cause i LOVE the movie version and how everyone’s voices overlap at the end and its NUTS but i was DEAD WRONG. he starts out growling “Roxanne” and it is amazinggg. he really shows Christian lose it while absolutely killing the vocals. my jaw LITERALLY hit the floor when he sang “why does my heart cry, feelings I can’t fight” find audio of it y’all, its insane.
the new songs were also incredible! I was prepared to dislike some, since some were like…hits of 2013. BUT I WAS WRONG. they were so good!! most of them were in a mashup style and the audience cheered when they recognized each song which added to the energy of the show. BY FAR the best was the Act 2 opener, a medley of Bad Romance/Tainted Love/Seven Nation Army/Toxic/Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This). it was high energy, intense, technically perfect and downright SEXY. the dancing was incredible, the lifts were cool (at one point they literally throw Aaron). At the end, the audience clapped for legit a full minute (poor Aaron had to hold a half backbend for it hahah). other faves? Chandelier/Green Fairy, Crazy/Rolling in the Deep and the Duke’s Rolling Stones mashup!
THE SET WAS INDESCRIBABLY BEAUTIFUL. SO SO INTRICATE. The red light up sign, the elephant and windmill in the balconies, the elaborate interiors of the elephant and Christian’s home, it was nearly too much to take in. AND THE COSTUMES specifically every single one of Satine’s glittering numbers. perfect, elegant, STUNNING. Ensemble costumes were also amazing, at one point the lights came up on a group of aristocrats in elaborate pastel outfits and the whole crowd gasped a little!
little things i loved: dancers posing in the balconies before the show even started, the sword eaters, Aaron walking on stage, lifting his hand and the Moulin Rouge sign flying out so that Lady Marmalade can begin, the fact that I’ve now been rick rolled by Aaron Tveit, Karen’s entrances on the swing, Satine telling Zidler “let mama go to work” then strutting offstage, Christian dancing in his seat when Satine is signing Diamonds, the fact that they changed the spectacular from the cultural appropriated mess that it was, Zidler: “let me see your ass!” Christian: *turns around and shows his butt in super tight pants to the crowd*, the confetti, the harmonies in Chandelier (specifically Ricky Rojas’ entrance), the fact that after Satine dies they end the show/do bows to a fun song so you’re not too sad.
safe to say I can’t WAIT till this hits Broadway!!

The One That Got Away ( Peter Parker X Reader )
First, before you guys read this piece. Please do not kill me. I was so in the mood to write when I listened to Katy Perry. Forgeve meh my fellow Hollanders. I'll make it up to you guys. For now this all I can offer.
Peter. My best friend and my first love.
We knew each other since grade school. We always had each others back. He was a such a sweet boy. He didn't made it hard for me to fall inlove.
" Your staring at her again. " Ned said as I looked at Peter's direction. He was staring at her again. Ever since he saw her, she was the only thing that came out of his mouth.
" How can I not? She's so perfect. She's beautiful and smart. " Peter mumble as his eyes twinkled. The twinge of pain hit my chest like a bullet. I hate it when this happens. I hate how he could be so blind. But I can't seem to hate him.
" Why can't you just ignore him Y/n? " Michelle said as we sat inside the library. She's been my bestfriend eversince I entered Midtown School of Science and Technology. I started telling her my feelings for Peter for awhile now. She is constantly telling me to just ditch Peter so my feelings can disappear. It wasn't gonna be that easy.
I had been with Peter for a long time, I knew everything about Peter. I know what he eats, what he likes and what he tends to do as a habit.
I even know that his Spiderman.
" Mich, I can't just do that. " I said as I skim through my chemistry book and began highlighting some notes. I heard her sigh in frustration in front of me. " Why are you so nice?!" she grumbled as I just laughed and held her hand as the anger in her face disappeared and tightened her hold on my hand.
" Ok I'll let this slide one more time. But please, can you be selfish for once. Think about yourself. I just don't want to see you hurt. If you really like him just blurt it out already. " she said as she gave me a concerned look. She is right. Maybe I can change Peter's feeling. What he is feeling for Liz is just a crush. I can still change it.
" Ok, I'll tell him. " you said as you pulled away from Michelle's grasp and took your phone out.
To: PeterParkingLot 😂😁
Hey, are you free? Let's go eat out tonight. I got something to tell you. I'll wait for you at the park. See you at 5.
You pressed send as you looked at Michelle with determination.
Class ended and you immidiately dressed up as pretty as possible. Just a typical sleeveless shirt and buttoned down jeans. You look at your self in the mirror as you took a breath.
" You look beautiful sweet heart. " you heard someone said. You turned to see your grandmother. She was the only parent that you have in Queens. Your parents work abroad to provide money for you.
You smiled at her as she walked towards you and handed you a familiar cream colored envelope. Then it came to you. It was the love letter you made for Peter last school year that you failed to give. Your grandmother looked at you and held your hands and said.
" You can do it. This is it. "
You nodded and smiled at her. She was right. He needs to know. It was now or never.
You made your way to the park. You got there earlier than expected which was strange. When you and Peter would eat out, even if you were the one that asked out he would always be the first to arrive at the meeting spot.
" maybe he just want to finish the death star lego construction with Ned it was almost done anyway. " you said positively. You looked at your watch.
4:55 pm.
Five minutes more. He was just late.
An hour had past. It seemed like an eternity. The sky has started to darken. You looked at your watch.
6:56 pm.
His not coming.
" He'll come. His just patrolling Queens right now. " you said. With that you continued to wait.
At 7:30 you decided to make your way to his apartment. Maybe he was just busy doing homework and missed your text.
You looked up at the dark sky. And then you saw a figure swing buy. Two figures.
You followed it. As you got near it revealed more clearly who the two was.
It was Spider man and in his arms was . . . . . Liz.
You saw then drop by an Alley. You made it to the Alley and peaked.
Peter hung upside down as Liz stood infront of him. They were talking and laughing. Needles pierced its way to your heart. Thousand of needles stab its way to your chest. What happened next killed you.
Liz began to lower his mask on the half of Peter's pace. Then she placed a warm kiss on his lips.
Like a sword, it stabbed you from behind and had you in a insane pain. Your eyes watered as your hands covered your mouth. A kiss was enough.
A kiss was enough to tell the Person the word " I Love You. "
A kiss was enough, to say that he loved her.
A kiss was enough, to tell you that you were to late.
You ran away as far as you could. Away from the scene. Away from the pain. Away from him. Away from Peter.
The starry night sky disappeared as it darkened and thundered.
" Pitter, Patter. "
The rain sounded as it fell.
You stood in the middle of a dark side walk. Under the rain. Numb and broken.
Your phone vibrated from your pocket you pulled it out as water hit its screen and on it showed a picture of Peter. You swiped the red icon indicating that you declined the call. Your phone's lockscreen revealed your phone history.
150 messages and 50 calls from Ned, Michelle, and Peter.
You stared at the screen as you pressed the off button, shutting the phone down. You looked at your watch.
12:01 am.
It was past midnight. Yet you didn't care.
The road was barely empty. You did something crazy without even nothing.
You walked towards the middle of the road.
You looked at the sky.
You smiled.
The sky cried with you.
You cried with your head up to the sky making your tears fall like waterfalls. You gripped the letter at your right hand.
You were too numb.
Too broken.
Too sad.
Too pained
To notice what was happening around you.
To notice the pair of headlights on your way.
The lights glowed brighter as it drew near. The rain' made it impossible for the driver to see you. Then. . . . .
Peter held his phone as he stood in front of a corpse covered in a white blanket. His gaze landed on Michelle and your grandmother crying.
Michelle cried as she placed an arm on your grandmothers back and one on the clothed corpse. Your grandmother shouting pleads and begs for the clothed to wake up. Peter's eyes landed on Ned on the other side. Crying. And before him was your father and mother hugging the corpse.
Your mother slowly removed the cloth from the corpse face.
It revealed a cold, lifeless Y/n.
Peter's eyes watered as he gripped his phone and on the screen was your text message.
From: Y/nDaBestie😂😆
Hey, are you free? Let's go eat out tonight. I got something to tell you. I'll wait for you at the park. See you at 5.
Sent by Y/nDaBestie Yesterday.
He was so busy with Liz that he forgot you. He cried as he dropped on the floor as he stared at your dead body.
The days of past as your funeral began. Peter stood infront your coffin for the whole day. His Aunt May would beg him to rest and will comeback tomorrow. He did get rest but at the following day he will do the same routine. Stand infront.
He ignored Liz. He didn't feel anything when she said her condolences. The last day of the funeral came and your burial came. Your grandmother watched Peter stand infront of your tombstone. Unmoving.
She stared at the familiar envelope in hand. She sighed and walked beside Peter who noticed her but didn't turn.
" Here lies Y/n L/n
a Loving daughter and a supportive friend. ( (birth year) - 2017 ) "
Peter stared at the words on the rock.
" Here dear. " he saw your grandma hand him a crippled unopened envelope. She gave him a sad smiled. " She wanted you to have it. " she said as she patted his back and walked away.
Peter watched her leave and spun his attention back at the letter. It was adressed to him from You.
He tore it open and pulled out a crumpled letter. He then began to read its content.
Hey Peter!
I don't know to say this in personal and I would probably faint if I did so I put it in a letter. So it goes like this, You and I have been friends for a very long time. We've had each other's back for a quite a long time now.
You are the best thing that happened to me Peter. You didn't make it hard for me to fall in love with you. Heres the dealio.
I Love You Peter.
I Love you so much. Not because your smart, not because spider man.
But because its you. I love everything about you. Every part and every flaw that you have. I've always loved you. I've always had.
Love
Y/n.
With that, he pressed the letter on his chest hugging it close as he knelt before your stone and his tears dripping down his eyes.

Chapter 10: Technicolor
Pidge was out of options.
“You’re not leaving this ship alive.”
She narrowed her eyes, glaring. “Watch me.”
He raised an eyebrow. “Watch you,” he echoed. His grip on his sword tightened.
Before he could say another word, the far doors opened again, and a soldier entered. “Sir, there’s been a disruption—”
“What is it now?!” Reggar whirled to face the doors, and Pidge took the opportunity to take a step back.
The soldier blanched. Was it the same one as before? Pidge couldn’t tell. “I—I apologize, Sir,” he stammered, “but it seems the Red—”
Pidge gasped lightly, her eyes widening. “Fine!” she shouted, desperate to cut off the soldier’s report. At her outburst, Reggar turned towards her, holding up a hand to silence the soldier. “You win,” Pidge said, and she saw her father jerk forward. “Just…just promise me….”
If she was right about what that one soldier had started to say, then Keith must be somewhere on the ship. Without her helmet, she wasn’t able to hear the rest of her team, wouldn’t be able to receive an auditory signal from Keith. So she kept her eyes peeled, searching for a visual signal.
“Leave us,” Reggar ordered the soldier.
“But, sir—”
“Now.”
There!—a flash of light from the catwalk. Pidge glanced up, taking in the figure poised in the scaffolding. Keith had activated his shield, casting the area around him in a faint cyan glow. When she met his eyes, he nodded.
Setting her jaw, she looked back at Reggar. “How can I be sure you’ll keep your end of the deal?”
“I’m a man of my word.”
Pidge crossed her arms. “Forgive me if I’m having trouble believing that. See, in my experience, the Galra tend to lie a lot. What assurance do I have that you won’t do the same?”
“If you’re trying to get me to drop my guard,” he growled, “it’s not going to work.”
“I’m not trying. I’m succeeding.” Seeing the way his eyes narrowed, the way his shoulders tensed ever-so-slightly, she stood up a bit straighter. “Allow me to let you in on a little secret,” Pidge told him, leaning in towards him. “There’s only one Galra who I trust. And it sure as hell isn’t you.”
The commander sneered. “Oh? And who might that be?”
She smirked. “Why don’t you turn around and see for yourself?”
Then everything seemed to happen at once.
The knife came shooting out of the shadows, and Reggar barely had time to turn and deflect it off the hit of his sword. At the same time, Pidge ducked, rolling to the side in one fluid motion.
The luxite blade clattered to the floor, and Keith dropped down beside it, drawing and activating his bayard. “Surprise.”
Reggar glowered, glancing back over his shoulder to take in both paladins, both standing at the ready. The two sentries who stood guard by Sam and Matt had taken up arms as well, aiming their blasters at her and Keith.
“An ambush,” the commander growled.
“I did mention there may be other paladins on the ship,” Pidge reminded him.
Keith grinned, charging Reggar without another word. Their swords collided, sending off bursts of glowing sparks. But Pidge ignored their fight, focusing instead on the sentries that were guarding her family. She ran towards them, barely pausing as she swiped her bayard back off the floor. Both of the sentries had their blasters pointed at her, and she smirked. “Come and get me.”
They ran towards her, and Pidge launched into action. She slid between the legs of the first sentry, slashing at its knees, then leapt at the second one to drive her bayard through its chest. The robot fell to the floor, and Pidge ran to her brother, taking him by the arm, using her bayard to slice through the handcuffs around his wrists.
“Katie—”
“I’m sorry, I’m so sorry.”
She moved towards her dad next, cutting through his bonds so that the handcuffs fell to the floor.
“Katherine,” her father said, turning to face her.
She took him by the hands, staring into his eyes frantically. “I’m sorry, I know you probably have a million questions, and I promise I’ll get to all that later; but right now, I need to finish taking care of this.”
He smiled at her, briefly leaning down to kiss her forehead. “I’m so proud of you, Katie.”
Tears prickled at her eyes, and she forced them not to fall. “I love you, Dad.”
With that, she turned and ran full-force into the fray.
Keith had Reggar occupied in their sword fight. She came up from behind the Galra commander, striking upwards with her bayard. The glowing green blade hit at a chink in his armor, and arcs of electricity shot through him.
She let her rage charge the blast, letting it all out in one cathartic wave of anger.
Still sparking, Reggar fell unconscious to the floor.
For a moment, there was silence.
Keith straightened, retracting his bayard and moving to collect his Marmora knife from where it had fallen. “That thing really packs a punch.”
She glanced down at her bayard, then quickly deactivated it. “You,” she muttered, glancing back towards the Red Paladin, “are late.”
“Ran into some trouble on the way.”
Pidge barely heard his reply. She breathed deeply, letting herself come down from her adrenaline high. Wordlessly, she spun back to face her family. She broke into a run, throwing herself into her father’s arms.
“Oh my god,” she cried. “I’m sorry, I’m so sorry, this is all my fault, I never…I…I should’ve—”
“Shhh,” her dad soothed. “You’re alright, Katie, it’s okay.”
Matt was hugging her from the other side, and she melted into their embrace. “I’ve missed you so much.”
Distantly, she was aware of Keith’s voice as he filled in the team through the comms. “Reggar’s down,” he reported. “We found the Holts. Preparing for extraction.”
That pulled her back to reality, and she took a deep breath to steel herself. Pull yourself together, Pidge, this isn’t over yet.
Pidge pulled away from the hug, wiping at her eyes. “Okay.” She took a deep breath. “Okay. We need to get out of here. He’s not going to stay unconscious forever,” she added, glancing at Reggar’s prone form.
She glanced at Keith, who was waiting patiently a few yards away, her helmet cradled in his arms. Catching her eye, he held out the helmet. “You alright?” he asked, tossing it towards her.
“Better than ever.” She caught her helmet easily, standing up a bit straighter as she pulled it on. “Alright. Keith, this is my dad and my brother. Guys, this is Keith. He’s cool. Now let’s get the hell out of here.” Already halfway to the door, she brought a hand up to her helmet to make sure the comms mic was switched on. “Lance? It’s Pidge. We’re on our way back.”
“Good,” she heard him reply. “I’ll meet you halfway.”
Keith turned towards the Holts with a tentative smile, saluting. “Commander and Lieutenant Holt,” he greeted, “if you could follow me, please.”
It was too much to hope that they hadn’t tripped any alarms. Even if Reggar wasn’t conscious enough to issue orders, the other soldiers had certainly noticed their saboteurs. If not when Keith fought his way from the hangar to the bridge, then certainly when the bridge went dark, or when Lance made his presence known.
“Pidge, Keith, you’ve got incoming,” Coran said over the comms. “The BLIP-tech scans are showing a large amount of Galra in the next room. Be careful!”
“Thanks for the heads-up, Coran,” Keith replied. He looked towards Pidge, and she nodded. With her confirmation, he pressed his palm to the scanner to open the door.
The four of them found themselves on a catwalk overlooking a lower deck. Below them, about a dozen sentries patrolled. Keith frowned. “That’s our way out,” he murmured, pointing towards a set of doors below them. “We’re gonna need to get past them to get out of here.”
Matt peered over the edge of the catwalk. “How?” he asked. “Both of you have melee weapons. We’d need something long-range.”
Pidge stood up, activating her bayard. “I’m on it.” She fired her bayard at the ceiling, letting the grappling hook secure itself around the scaffolding.
“Pidge,” Keith said, completely deadpan. “What are you doing?”
She climbed over the railing, holding onto it firmly with one hand. “Um, going down there. Obviously.”
Matt blinked. “Are you sure that’s a good idea?”
“Aw, come on; you’ve seen me take out, like, twice as many as this.”
“Yeah, and you nearly gave me a heart attack.”
“I’ll be fine.” With that, she leapt off the catwalk, swinging on her bayard like a vine. With a loud cheer, she bowled into the sentries, sending a number of them falling to the floor.
Keith cursed, activating his own bayard. “I hate it when she does this,” he muttered. He jumped over the railing after her, using his jetpack to slow his fall.
The sentries that hadn’t been caught in her swing turned towards her, opening fire. She dropped to her feet, retracting her bayard and using it as a dagger as she charged into the fray.
She felt the impact in her left shoulder as one of their shots hit home. She hissed in pain, stumbling back. Keith jumped in front of her, swinging his sword in a wide arc, taking out the nearest sentries.
Matt, coming down the stairwell onto the lower level, grabbed a fallen blaster and opened fire on the last few sentries. As they fell, he held up the blaster smugly. “Long-range,” he repeated.
“Yeah, yeah,” Pidge muttered. She rubbed gingerly at her left shoulder. Her armor had taken the brunt of the impact from the laser fire, but she was still sore to the touch. That was definitely going to leave a mark. Keith glanced at her curiously, raising an eyebrow, but she ignored him. “Well that’s done.” She looked up as Matt and Sam came to join them. “Onwards?”
“You,” Keith decided, “are going to be the death of me.”
“Love you too!” she chirped, already backing towards the door.
“Is she always like this?” Sam asked.
“More often than not,” Keith replied.
Pidge rolled her eyes, calling over her shoulder, “You’re an enabler and you know it!”
He shrugged, following her out into the hall. “Never said I wasn’t.”
Pidge rounded the next corner, skidding to a halt as she came face-to-face with a familiar blue-and-white blaster. “Lance!”
“Pidge!” he gasped, lowering the gun.
“Status report?”
“Good news is I’ve pretty much cleared the path from here back to the hangar,” he told her. “Bad news is they now know for sure that there are three paladins on board and they really don’t want us leaving.”
She sighed. “What else is new,” she muttered, rolling her eyes. “Okay, well. Lance, this is my dad and my brother. We can do proper introductions later. Let’s go.”
She gave Lance a push back down the hall, prodding him to lead the way. He gave a little wave towards Pidge’s family, then started back how he’d came, winding through the mostly-empty halls towards the hangar where Green and Red were stowed.
“Pidge.” Again, Coran called through the comms. “Scans are showing a high concentration of Galra in the hangar.”
She set her jaw. “They’re trying to cut us off from our lions.”
Lance tightened his grip on his blaster. “How are we gonna get past them?”
“Well,” Pidge suggested, “there’s the certified Keith method of ‘eject your problems into the void of space’.”
“Bad idea.” The words were said in unison––Lance, Matt, Sam, even Keith, all speaking at the same time.
“Fine,” she relented with an eyeroll as they came up to the doors leading into the hangar. “We’ll do it the blasty way.” They stopped in front of the doors, and Pidge straightened. “Lance, you take point. As soon as the doors are open enough, start firing.”
“You got it.”
“Keith, keep your shield up and skirt around the side until you reach your lion. I’ll tell you when it’s clear to go.”
He nodded decisively.
“I’ll cover defense,” she finished, activating her shield. She turned towards her dad and Matt. “And you,” she added firmly. “Please. Just stay out of the way until we give the all clear.”
“Yeah, not happening,” Matt said. He hefted the blaster he’d taken earlier. “I’m not just gonna stand around and do nothing.”
“Matt, I’m not arguing with you about this.”
“Good.” He took up position beside Lance. “Cuz I’m not either.”
“Matt.”
Sam sighed heavily, pinching the bridge of his nose. “Please, you two, can’t you go just five minutes without trying to strangle each other?”
Lance was smirking insufferably. “Ready?”
“Opening doors,” Keith responded, laying a hand on the scanner.
“I hate you guys,” Pidge crouched a half-step in front of Lance and her brother, using her shield to cover them as the sentries––at least three dozen of them––opened fire. Lance and Matt fired back, and when enough had been knocked down, Pidge yelled, “Now, Keith!”
Keith ran along the right flank, using his sword to take down any sentries who got in his way. Once across the room, he raced inside Red’s mouth. Red’s eyes flashed as her paladin settled into the cockpit, and she roared to life. A few pounces and blasts––and the last of the Galra were down. “All clear,” he called triumphantly.
Lance cheered, stowing his bayard and heading into the hangar. Pidge smiled. “Nice job, Keith,” she congratulated, deactivating her shield. “Now let’s get out of here.”
She held out a hand to her father, and he took it, shaking his head. “You’re going to give me a heart attack from all your reckless abandonment.”
“We’re your kids, Dad,” Matt said with a light smile, dropping his blaster. “That’s kind of our job.”
The three of them followed Lance into the hangar, heading towards where the Green Lion waited, her shields still up.
Matt skidded to a halt as he took in the two lions before him. “Wow.”
Pidge turned to glance at him over her shoulder. “I told you we had giant magic robot lions, didn’t I?”
“Yeah,” Matt squeaked. “You did. I just…it’s a lot to take in.”
“They really are something,” their father agreed.
Pidge smirked, putting her hands on her hips. “You guys ready to see the inside too?” She continued walking towards Green, and the lion dropped her shield. She bowed, opening her mouth to allow Pidge to enter.
Lance stood at the base of the ramp and gestured for Matt and Sam to follow her in. “After you.”
“Giant magic robots,” Sam murmured, repeating what Pidge had said earlier, awestruck as he climbed inside. “Absolutely astounding.”
In the cockpit, Pidge’s hands flew across the controls. She could see Keith through their vidlink, his image projected onto the side of her main display viewscreen. “I’ll go out first and clear a path for you,” he told her. “Follow my lead.”
“Copy. Coran, open the hangar doors for us.”
“You got it, Number Five.”
As soon as the bay doors were open wide enough, the Red Lion blasted out, with Green following a tick later.
“And, we’re out!” Pidge announced as they shot away from the ship. “Light it up.”
Keith grinned. “With pleasure.” He opened fire, sending a blast of superheated fire towards the warship. “I’ve got this covered; you take care of the fighters.”
“On it.”
There weren’t too many of them––Reggar had spread himself too thin what with trying to hold both Vallen and his warship. Pidge took them on easily, despite their efforts to swarm her.
A fighter broke away from the main cluster, coming at them head-on.
“Pidge,” Lance warned.
“I see it.” She pulled Green into a dive.
“Two-o-clock,” Lance continued, staring out of the lion. “Watch the right flank. Ack! Your other right!”
“Lance,” she threatened.
“Do a barrel roll!”
“Lance, I will eject you out of this ship.”
“Gee thanks, Pidge, I love you too.”
Matt gripped the back of the pilot’s chair. “Can’t you form Voltron?”
Pidge shook her head. “Only got four lions in play. Blue is still at the castle.”
“I came in with Pidge,” Lance agreed. “Not to mention Black and Yellow are down on Vallen.”
Pidge punched one of her joysticks forward, firing at the last of the fighters ahead of her. Deep olive-toned vines burst out of them, and Pidge sat back with a smirk. “That’s the last of the fighters. Keith?”
“Could use some backup.”
It was Allura who answered, flying the castle towards the warship. “Just a tick.” The castle opened fire, sending a wide blast of concentrated energy towards the warship. When it hit the engines, the entire ship started to blow.
Sam stared out the cockpit, watching as the spacecraft combusted. “Wow.”
“Bye, Reggar,” Pidge added remorselessly. Without sparing the ship any more than a second glance, she pulled up her comms display. “Shiro? Hunk? What’s your status?”
There was a moment before they heard Shiro’s voice answer. “Just about taken care of. Was that explosion the warship?”
“Yep,” Keith replied. “We’re all clear.”
“Good work,” Shiro told them. “Keith, Pidge, head back to the castle. Meet us down here in a dobosh.”
“Copy that, Shiro,” Pidge answered. “Allura, we’re coming in.”
“I’ll open the doors to your hangars,” the princess responded.
Pidge watched the bay doors, waiting until they closed fully before stating, “Green and Blue secure.”
“Red secure,” Keith echoed.
“Shiro, we’re coming down,” Allura announced.
Pidge barely registered as the castle began its descent. She breathed deep, focusing her thoughts as the adrenaline rush wore off. “That’s it,” she murmured. She pulled up her legs, sitting crisscross in her chair. Tears pricked at her eyes, and she pressed a hand to her face, starting to laugh. “That’s really it.”
Lance propped himself up on the back of her chair, leaning towards her. His mouth quirked in a lopsided smile. “You okay, Pidge?”
“I can’t believe that’s it.”
“Yeah, okay.” He reached over, placing a hand on her arm and helping her gently out of her chair. “Let’s go.”
“I can stand on my own, Lance.”
“I know.” He turned towards Matt and Sam, offering them a tentative smile. “Come on. It’s cramped in here. Proper reunions can happen outside of the lion. Let’s go.”
Pidge giggled weakly as she let him guide her out of the cockpit and into Green’s bay. “You dork.”
They felt the castle touch down on the planet Vallen, listening as the whirr of the engines quieted to a low hum.
Pidge wiped at her lingering tears, looking towards her family (they’re here, they’re actually here!) with a smile. “Shiro will be waiting outside,” she told them. “Let’s…let’s go meet up with the rest of the team.”

Chapter Three: No I in Team
“So this is the training room?” Skylar asks as she peers around it. Hunk nods as he follows in after her. “Yup. It’s pretty neat.” Sky continue to walk around the room, quiet as she looks. She turns to Hunk. “How do you activate it?” he grins and walks over to a wall, causing a panel to pop up. She crosses the room to stand beside him and look around on it.
“Can I try it out?” “Sure! I’d, uh, start at the beginning level though.” he recommends and shows her how to set it up. She sets it to a beginning hand to hand combat level and steps into the arena. She activates the shield that was given to her as the gladiator rises from the floor. She crouches slightly, eyes trained on it. It’s scanner flashes and is immediately running towards her. She tenses up to brace for impact and throws her shield up at the last moment, catching it under the chin and throwing it upwards.
Hunk gaps as she’s quick to grab an arm and swings it into a wall, causing it to shatter and deactivate. She turns to him, eyes bright and shining. “Can we up the level and amount?” she asks excitedly. “U-uh...um, yeah. But...I’m coming in just in case you need help.” she rolls her eyes as he sets up the panel. “I can take them all on my own.” she snorts out as he steps in.
“Yeah well...just to be safe.” he activates his bayard, pulling up his cannon.
Several gladiators rise from the floor and are quick to turn on Sky, attacking her at once. A few have staffs of their own, but she twists and turns to block the objects with her shield, taking a few punches to the gut in the process. Her arm snakes out and grabs one by the leg and, with a spin, manages to knock the group around her down. In the process she breaks its leg off and takes several steps away. She beheads the closest one by bringing her shield down hard and steals its staff. Realizing she brought the shield down too hard and got it stuck in the floor, she abandons it and brings up the staff just in time to block another one from electrocuting her arm.
“Watch out!” Hunk yells as another slams its leg in the back of her knees, causing her to fold over and drop the staff. She rolls over just in time for a staff to miss whapping her in the side. Hunk fires up his cannon, blasting the nearest gladiators to her. They turn on him, seeming to realize she isn’t the only one in the arena. Skylar’s quick to react though and gets up before tackling one, crushing it under her weight. She yanks the staff from it and with a hard swing, beheads the last two. The simulation stops, causing the broken pieces and staffs to disappear through the floor.
Skylar pants hard and slowly looks to Hunk. “Thank...you..” she gives a small smile, which Hunk returns. “You’re welcome...that’s what a team is for, right?” she walks towards him, stretching her arms in the air. “Maybe I should listen to someone who’s been here longer, huh?” she laughs. He chuckles a bit as well. “Yeah, maybe. Though I think you could have started a little higher level. You absolutely destroyed that first gladiator.” he follows her out of the training arena. Skylar beams at him. “You think?”
“Definitely.”
***
“Do you think there’s any way to turn this into a fighter ship?” Pidge asks as they approach the escape pod. Roaron gives a shrug. “Perhaps. I’d have to take a look inside it first and even then I’d need a few parts. Mainly a couple of laser guns to attach and a set of controls for those.” he shows Pidge where the panel is and she cuts through the metal with her bayard. Roaron kneels down, Pidge leaning down beside him to look in it.
“It looks easy to rewire into a more stable and compatible ship.” she comments, pushing her glasses up. Roaron snorts. “Yeah, until you add rewiring to new weapons and a second seat inside.” “A second seat?” she questions, glancing to him.
“Well, yeah. You think I’m fighting without my gun woman then you thought wrong.” he stands up and looks down to her. “Besides, before we can get started I’ll need to make the weapons. Or get them. Just getting them would be nice.”
“Yeah, Allura’s just going to give up some of the castle’s laser weapons for you” she lays the sarcasm on thick. “Maybe there’s a storage somewhere with some old tech. I’ll have to ask Coran at some point.” she stands up beside him. Roaron side eyes her. “You know, I could probably get some really good ideas if I could see the inside of one of the lions.”
“And try to steal it? I don’t think so.” a voice comes from the doorway, causing them both snap their heads in that direction to see the red paladin. Pidge rolls her eyes. “This is almost worse than you and Lance. Do you just keep stalking him everywhere he goes?” Keith shrugs as he leans up against the door. “Until I have a reason to trust him, yes.”
“Oh? And what about the other one, Skylar?”
He laughs. “She doesn’t seem as smart as him. More brawn than brain. Besides, Hunk has been with her practically since she got up.” Roaron chuckles darkly. “I want to see you say that to her face emo boy.”
“What did you just say??” Keith snaps, stepping forward threateningly. Roaron crosses his arms over his chest.
“Yain’t deaf. You heard me.”
“Ladies, ladies, stop fighting, you’re giving me a headache.” Pidge groans, rubbing her temple. “Listen, how about this: you two fight for it. Keith loses, he has to start respecting you and you get to see the lions. Roaron loses, he doesn’t get to see the lions and we figure out how to build a good ship another way.” she holds her hand up as Keith starts to speak. “No, you’re using the training sticks, not real fucking weapons.” he looks offended, but his mouth shuts.
Roaron narrows his eyes at Keith, quiet for a few minutes. “I’ll take you on. But I want some referees so they can tell who gets the kill shot first.” Pidge claps her hands together. “Great! I’ll round up the others.” she starts to walk out as Roaron clears his throat. She stops and looks to him. “What?”
“You’ll need to distract Skylar and keep her away from the training area...she might interfere with the battle if it looks like I’m losing...and she won’t hold back.” she goes quiet for a minute.
“I’ll have Hunk and Lance distract her. Any hobbies she loves?”
“Baking.”
“Perfect.” she walks out the door. Keith glares once more at Roaron before walking away from the door and into the hallway. Roaron lets out a huff and shakes his head before walking out the door himself, it sliding shut behind him.
***
“Do you even know what any of these say?” Skylar questions as she picks up a tube of space goo, looking at the label. “We’re not entirely sure...but Hunk has a knack for creating some good food.” Lance replies, leaning against the counter. He pouts a bit, wishing he could watch Keith get his ass kicked by the newbie but no, he’s stuck here making sure the other one doesn’t ruin everything.
Hunk takes the tube from Sky and adds it to the bowl. She leans over slightly, sniffing the batter. “Mmmm...kinda smells like strawberries.”
“Let’s hope it tastes like them.” he replies, glancing over to her. He dumps the bowl into a square pan and places it into the oven.
Lance groans and sprawls over the table. He squints at Skylar. “Weren’t you shorter before? I swear you were shorter yesterday. Like. Two inches shorter.” she shrugs. “Maybe I’m finally getting my growth spurt I should have gotten back in 6th grade.”
“I’m pretty sure someone doesn’t grow two inches in one night once out of puberty.” Hunk says, resting lightly against the counter.
“Well...I don’t feel any taller. Roaron would be able to tell.” she glances around, her eyebrow dropping into a questioning look. “Which….where is he, by the way? I haven’t gotten to see him all day.”
“Well...um-” “He’s with Pidge, checking out the lions.” Lance interrupts, glancing to Hunk. Sky frowns a bit before tilting her head.
“How about we go meet up with them and lemme look at them too?” she asks, eyes trained on Hunk. He glances away. “We have to wait for the food to bake. I don’t want it to burn.”
Lance sits up and slides off the table. “I can go get him for you, if he’s still there.”
“Great! I’ll go with you.” she stands up straight and starts to follow him. “Wait wait wait...have I...shown you my secret stash of food?” Hunk questions, laying a hand on her shoulder. Lance quickly makes his escape as she looks back to Hunk. “..No?”

“Okay boys, let’s make this fight clean.” Pidge says as she sits back in one of the chairs behind the particle barrier. Shiro sits beside her, having agreed to be referee, with a little bit of convincing. Keith and Roaron are both dressed in their respective suits, Roaron in his Galra one that he landed on the ship with. Instead of real weapons they have two wooden swords so they don’t seriously injure the other. “Begin!” Pidge calls out.
Roaron bends his knees slightly, eyes trained on Keith. He knows the hot headed emo boy will probably be the first to make a strike if he waits long enough. Sure enough, after a few minutes of being motionless, Keith huffs and rushes him, bringing the tool out slightly to the side. Roaron tilts his sword to the side out in front of him and blocks Keith’s attempt at side swiping him, instead kicking out at his shins and just barely skimming them as Keith jumps back.
Roaron is quick to rush him this time as he’s unbalanced and there’s a loud crack! As the weapons strike each other again. Roaron presses hard enough to bring Keith’s own sword to his neck, but he has enough strength to keep it from quite touching it. Keith grits his teeth and shoves Roaron back, causing him to just catch his balance as he’s forced back a few steps. Keith rushes once again, cutting up from underneath but Roaron catches him with his own sword, stopping him long enough to kick out and catch Keith’s knee, causing him to collapse. He’s quick to roll and jump back up before Roaron can pin him with his sword. Both pant a bit, eyeing each other up.
“What’d I miss?” Lance whispers as he kneels beside Pidge, eyeing the arena where both are standing looking at the other. Pidge leans a bit towards Lance. “Both are decently matched: Keith’s quick but Roaron has the strength to block his attacks and sense to guess where he’s going to strike. It’s kinda interesting. It’d be cool to see how he stands up to Shiro but..” she glances towards Shiro, who’s too distracted by watching the fight to pay attention to them. “He doesn’t have a beef with Shiro so I don’t think he’d do it.”
Lance pouts a bit as he watches the two. “Too bad. That’d be so cool to see. Though I wouldn’t doubt Skylar beating up Shiro.” Pidge looks at him in alarm. “Why??” “You have to get the story from Hunk. He’ll tell it better than me.” she eyes him before returning her attention to the battlefield.
Keith is the first to move again, bringing his sword up and clashing once again with Roaron’s. What he doesn’t see coming is Keith’s leg, nailing him in the gut, causing him to cough hard and fall back. He brings his sword up as his back slams into the ground, blocking Keith’s deathblow. He pants and grits his teeth.
“Why don’t you give up, pretty boy?” Keith hisses out, pressing harder against the sword, bringing it dangerously close to Roaron’s neck. Roaron gives a smirk.
“Because I’m too stubborn to.” he launches forward, knocking Keith’s sword away in the process and pins his sword under his neck, causing Keith to lift his chin a bit. Both pant heavily, glaring at each other as the arena shuts down.
“Match set! Roaron wins!” Pidge calls as she stands up from her seat. Both of the wooden swords disappear and Roaron steps back from Keith before sticking out his hand. “Good match. It’s been awhile since I’ve been against someone skilled.” Keith eyes his hand before taking it and shaking it. He drops it first and walks away, heading to the door.
Roaron watches him go before glancing at Shiro, who shrugs. “He’ll come around.” Roaron snickers a bit: imagine the emo boy sulking. He keeps the thought to himself and rubs his stomach lightly, already knowing a pretty big bruise is going to form there. He glances to Pidge and chuckles a bit. “I think we’ll have to save exploring the lions for a couple days. He got me pretty good.” “I bet that knee hurts more than your gut though.” she comments. “Yeah, he was kinda limping out the door.” Lance adds, grinning.
“Do you need a healing pod?” Shiro questions, looking slightly concerned. Roaron waves his hand. “Nah, I’d just like some water.” “I’ll come with you: Hunk’s magic ought to be done by now.” Lance comments, walking out of the door with him in the direction of the kitchen. Pidge and Shiro glance to each other. Pidge glances down before looking back up.
“How long?”
“How long what?” Shiro asks back. She frowns slightly.
“How long were you and Matt together?”
Shiro tenses up a bit and glances away. He swallows hard. “A few months before the Kerberos mission launched. That’s why he never got to telling you. Our minds were focused on the mission and we spent our free time with each other. I...I think he was afraid that I’d leave him so he didn’t bother to announce our relationship to anyone.” he glances down to Pidge.
“He didn’t keep it secret on purpose and...neither did I. I was just respecting his wishes.” she stares at him hard before nodding sharply. “Alright.” she says before heading out the door. Shiro watches her go before sighing and walking after her.
