As someone who graduated w/ a humanities degree I want to let fellow humanities people know that

you’re not a failure for not having your dream job straight out of college/university

if it takes a long ass time for you to get that job, it’s normal

some of these people will say very unhelpful, un-uplifting things and you gotta ignore them

I don’t want to get too vulnerable, but I don’t have any comments about the light at the end of the tunnel. I just hope we all get through there.

So... Life update

I am currently unemployed

The place where I was working didn't re-hire me, and now I'm looking for a job. The good thing is that I can look for a better place to work... If I can find it

But is NOT easy to get a job being a gender non-conforming person, and in a factory where everything is almost occupied by cis-het men is even harder

I have a lot of anxiety, and I don't know what to do, working in my field but suffering because of the ultra cis-het male environment, or working in other things but wasting my career and maybe not earning the same money

Adding to that, I have almost lost all of my friends because of the work, some of my best friends are doing their own stuff with their own issues and we haven't talked in a while

And my family put me in the closet again, none of them accepted me, and my brother (the one who accepted me the most) now dead names me in purpose and treats me like if I was gay and cis (I'm NOT a cis, nor gay [I'm bi]), forcing me to go back to the closet

Life is getting harder, I still wait for the moment it will get better

I wish I was cis, and I wish there were no gender disparity in the world

(Sorry for the post, but I felt I had to get out my thoughts to understand them better)

I got my first two job rejections, naturally I will take it personally!

I am sure there will be plenty more rejections in the coming months but that’s okay, I’ve looked for jobs before.

I’m still working for another month or two and I do have a plan B. Don’t worry my plan B does NOT involve me moving in with one of my Tumblr friends. Although, I would be very handy around the house! I can cook, clean, and I can fix stuff!

Maybe I should add that to my resume!

I charge an extra $20 USD fee for each extra character added to the piece.
