KIM, KIMHAN THEERAPAYANKUL IS MOST DANGEROUSLY MANIPULATIVE AND VIOLENT CHARACTER IN THE ENTIRE SERIES.
I really don't think it needs to be explained anymore but I just need to get these words out of my mind.
Firstly, in episode 11 we get to see Kimlock Holmes in proper action, when he goes to that ex police officer to take information. The way he had completely known how that person would have and make excuses, and had gone with complete preparations. It took him one sentence to get the information out of someone who has been continuing his act of Alzheimer’s for years now. And mind you, Kim did it in the most non-violent way.
Tumblr media
Also to be noted is his smile while talking to the man, slowly explaining that he knew everything about his daughter and the arrangement. His tone of voice is also something worth a mention: the way it's slow and calculative almost. Now if that’s not master manipulation then I don’t know what is.
Unlike Vegas who usually takes the pretence of love and care to manipulate people into working for him, Kim just simply uses his brain and words. Now some might say “well, he did use love to manipulate Chay into giving information”, NO HE DID NOT! But that’s for later, not relevant in here.
Secondly, and possibly the most important thing about Kim, HE IS NOT FAZED BY EMOTIONS. He is very good in controlling his emotions and brushing them to the side to focus on his main mission. Proof? KIM WITH CHAY. And all the times when he realized his feelings but threw them aside in 0.3 seconds. (Yes, you need to take note of his every expression for that. It’s real quick.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kim, in this aspect or maybe in an overall sense, is very much like his father Korn. Feelings and emotions are not something that they use to lead their lives. Now if we compare to Kinn and Vegas, Kinn of course is very much driven by his emotions while Vegas, if not as much as Kinn, is also driven by emotions in his life (note: he would possibly have been a better person if Gun had not treated his like that since childhood). On the other side of this spectrum is Kim, who feels but never ever lets his feelings take over him. Him pushing Chay away is evidence of that.
Now, coming to the violent part.
KIM WENT STRAIGHT UP SHOOTING VEGAS FOR CHAY. Note it that Vegas is his cousin which is probably why Kinn has never shot Vegas even when he wanted to. But for Kim, he had no care about that because here, by hurting Chay, Vegas messed with him. NO ON MESSES WITH KIM AND GETS AWAY WITH IT.
Also, in the last episode where he comes to take Chay, the way he shuts down that guy with just his eyes and a "don't" possibly explains a lot about him in terms of establishing his authority. (The guy might not be as big as the mafias but he's a drug dealer, he has his fair share of violence and danger and is not extremely easy to back down)
Tumblr media
Kim in no way holds back when he is angry or when his violent side comes out. He doesn't care who's in front of him.
P.S. I just realised the two times Kim had gone feral were both for his love everyone say thank you chay. But the point of him not being driven by feelings still stands. This is him being protective of someone in his life, who matters to him, but in no one is his feelings for this person affects his decisions in that whole murder mystery thing, which is the main focus in his life right now.
I guess that's all I have to say for now. Hope this makes sense.

A few sapphic film recs!
Tumblr media
Just a few recommendations for sapphic films under 2 hours which may or may not have flown under the radar:
Moonlit Winter / 윤희에게 (1hr 45m, 2019, dir. Lim Dae-hyung)
Professor Marston and the Wonder Women (1hr 48m, 2017, dir. Angela Robinson)
Who's the Woman, Who's the Man / 金枝玉葉 2 (1hr 50m, 1996, dir. Peter Ho-Sun Chan)
Sisterhood / 骨妹 (1hr 37m, 2016, dir. Tracy Choi)
DEBS (1hr 31m, 2004, dir. Angela Robinson)
Farewell, My Queen / Les adieux à la reine (1hr 40m, 2012, dir. Benoît Jacquot)
Bonus - short film: Love Does Human / 사람 하는 사랑 (24 mins, 2019, dir. Oh Seon-ju)
Commentary under the cut!
1. Moonlit Winter / 윤희에게 (1hr 45m, 2019, dir. Lim Dae-hyung) - IMDB | MyDramaList
Tumblr media
This movie is about a daughter (Kim So-hye) who finds out about her divorced mother’s (Kim Hee-ae) past with another woman (Katase Jun), and how in encouraging her mother to reconnect, the two finally open up to each other as well. Dry stuff on paper, but there’s more to it: the mother and her former lover didn’t just break up, they were split apart by their families as teenagers and the mother was forced to marry a man against her will. In short, it deals with the aftermath of the typical “bad ending” of older stories featuring WLW characters, wherein schoolgirls in love would be separated and married off to preserve the heteronormative status quo.
Although the queer relationship does not get much screentime at all – the two characters share a single scene, there are no flashbacks, and there’s not even a hug – queerness remains at the heart of the movie. It’s a rare depiction of how the repression of queerness leaves scars on people which affect how they engage with the world, but which also shows that as long as they are alive, there is still hope that those scars can be healed. Also, despite the heavy-sounding subject matter, it’s a very gentle experience: there are no direct depictions of homophobia and no sensationalism, just a little story of human connection unfolding in a snow-cloaked Hokkaido.
2. Professor Marston and the Wonder Women (1hr 48m, 2017, dir. Angela Robinson) - IMDB
Tumblr media
The blurb on IMDB says that this movie is about “psychologist William Moulton Marston (Luke Evans), and his polyamorous relationship with his wife [Elizabeth] (Rebecca Hall) and their mistress [Olive] (Bella Heathcote) who would inspire his creation of the superheroine, Wonder Woman”. As someone who is not particularly drawn to biopics, male protagonists, polyamory, BDSM, or Wonder Woman, I assumed that this movie wouldn’t be my jam and so didn’t watch it until quite a while later – which is when I discovered just how wrong I was.
First, the two women take up just as much of the movie’s focus as Marston. Elizabeth, Marston’s wife and fellow psychologist, is highly intelligent but equally highly-strung; she does not know how to deal with her husband’s attraction to new research assistant Olive, nor Olive’s attraction to both her husband and Elizabeth herself, and this internal conflict (even after the three enter into a polyamorous relationship) features heavily in the story. Second, although it declares itself to be “based on a true story”, the movie is not especially interested in recreating or representing the past. Rather, the historical elements are used as a framework to explore certain ideas: Diana’s Lasso of Truth symbolises how progress and healing must be first founded upon honesty, for example. The polyamory and BDSM is also not at all sordid or sensationalised, but rather presented in a nuanced (though still sexy!) manner. More than anything, this is a movie with a big heart and big ideas, and should be judged on its own merits.
3. Who's the Woman, Who's the Man / 金枝玉葉 2 (1hr 50m, 1996, dir. Peter Ho-Sun Chan) - IMDB | MyDramaList
Tumblr media
All you need to know going into this sequel of 1994 movie He's a Woman, She's a Man (金枝玉葉) is that main character Wing (Anita Yuen) is a woman who has found both fame and (heterosexual) love while disguising herself as a male idol, and that her relationship with record producer Sam (Leslie Cheung) is known to the general public— although it is perceived as being homosexual in nature due to her persona. At this point, you might be wondering why an M/F romantic comedy is on this list, but this movie is a bit odd in that instead of focusing only on problems such Sam’s internalised homophobia and misogyny (both of which are addressed in the story), one of the new obstacles facing the couple is the female lead meeting female pop star Fong Yim Mui (Anita Mui)… and both starting to fall for each other.
I was surprised at how sensitively Wing and Fong Yim Mui’s respective arcs are handled, especially for a mainstream movie from the 90’s starring two of Hong Kong’s most popular performers at the time. Instead of giving the two women a meet-cute and leaving it at that, a lot of care is put into showing them processing and coming to terms with their feelings in their own time. Romantic and sexual attraction is also highlighted separately, which is refreshing given how they are usually depicted as inextricably linked even now… Obviously Wing and Fong Yim Mui don’t end up together, but their feelings aren’t dismissed and – relative to the narrative constraints – the ending is a warm, optimistic one. Also, Anita Mui gives an absolutely award-worthy performance in one of the scenes with her character and Wing, so fans of her should definitely give this movie a try.
Important note: Although there’s much that’s good about it, Who's the Woman, Who's the Man is far from perfect. Early on, there’s a masquerade party where two of the characters are wearing masks which look like racist caricatures, and the masks are crop up in multiple scenes in the film. More serious is the subplot about a male character who keeps trying to win over a lesbian, culminating in her agreeing to sleep with him once while he’s dressed as a woman (CW: transphobia, homophobia) – though this storyline ends with the man accepting that she really is gay and parting on friendly terms. That said, these problems are already mild compared to the actively hateful transphobic and homophobic jokes present in so many of its contemporaries, so if you’ve watched a 90’s Hong Kong comedy before, chances are that your tolerance level is more than high enough.
4. Sisterhood / 骨妹 (1hr 37m, 2016, dir. Tracy Choi) IMDB | MyDramaList
Tumblr media
Sisterhood opens with tragedy. Originally from Macau, main character Sei (Gigi Leung) is living quietly in Taiwan with her husband after the 1999 Handover when her life is overturned by a newspaper personal ad informing her that her long-estranged friend and colleague Ling has passed away. The movie is shot through with flashbacks to earlier times, tracking a young Sei (Fish Liew) as she starts doing sex work and is taken under the wing of the more experienced Ling (Jennifer Yu) and her friends. Memories of togetherness and community are juxtaposed against sequences of present-day Sei struggling to navigate her grief, the tensions of the now-fractured friend group, and a Macau that has changed just as much as she has. The acting and script can be clunky in places but the sentiment shines through, especially after the first third, at which point the movie starts honing in on Sei and Ling’s relationship. It’s not a happy story, but nor is it defined by sadness; instead, it posits that the past is not merely to be mourned, that it is instead something that can shape and provide a foundation for the future. I won't talk too much about how queerness figures into this story, due to spoilers, but rest assured that it is present and important!
5. D.E.B.S. (1hr 31m, 2004, dir. Angela Robinson) - IMDB
Tumblr media
Okay, you've probably heard of this one before if not watched it already, but anyway! This was the first WLW movie I watched, and for a long time, the only one which I actually enjoyed. It’s about an elite spy (well, more like an honours student at spy school) (Sara Foster) and a criminal mastermind (Jordana Brewster) falling for each other, a premise which is just as fun and over-the-top as it sounds. The movie does a great job of mixing action, humor, and romance, and it doesn’t overstay its welcome – it’s got a nice compact runtime and a cracking pace. There’s still nothing quite like it in my opinion, though I’m very welcome to any recommendations in this line (my askbox is open if you have any!).
6. Farewell, My Queen / Les adieux à la reine (1hr 40m, 2012, dir. Benoît Jacquot) - IMDB
Tumblr media
Loosely based on Chantal Thomas’ novel of the same name, Farewell, My Queen is a portrait of French nobility in decline, following maidservant Sidonie Labarde (Léa Seydoux) who is in the service of Marie Antoinette (Diane Kruger). It's a beautiful, lavish production which effectively conveys the perspective of a servant locked in the gilded cage that is Versailles during the French Revolution, and is a rare case of a historical figure as famous as Antoinette being presented as queer in a serious historical drama.
That being said, the queerness is mostly background, coming mainly in the form of Antoinette’s crush on? relationship with? duchess Gabrielle de Polignac (Virginie Ledoyen)— though a case can be made for Sidonie, whose outward opacity belies an unwavering, almost unsettling, devotion to her queen. Also, be warned that the movie has many a dodgy shot of cleavage, and two instances of unnecessary and voyeuristic nudity... but other than that, it really does have gorgeous cinematography.
Fun fact: there really were rumours about Antoinette having a scandalous relationship with the duchess, although these have nearly always been written off as baseless reputation-smearing.
Bonus - short film: Love Does Human / 사람 하는 사랑 (24 mins, 2019, dir. Oh Seon-ju) - MyDramaList
youtube
Some say that the best science fiction puts a spotlight on some part of the human condition, and this short film does just that. Main character Tae Eun's (Kim Min-ju) girlfriend Joo An (Jang Sam-yi) no longer has a human body: after carrying out a medical operation which transferred her consciousness to a computer system, she now has a web-camera for her eyes, a speaker for her mouth, and control over their home's devices for her hands. And although the change was by Joo An's choice and Tae Eun was supportive, the pair struggle to adjust to this new reality, and are confronted with the need to communicate and to consider each other's perspectives. Love Does Human has a bit of a slow start, and there were points where I didn't understand why the characters were reacting in a certain way, but it all comes together beautifully in the end. Through its sci-fi premise, viewers are encouraged to think about real-life problems using a different angle, and the movie never gets too heavy. Also, shoutout to some excellent voice work from the two actors - Joo An is performed nearly entirely through voice but she feels deeply human and present, and Tae Eun's actor also has a standout scene featuring some great voice acting. All in all, it's a short film that's well worth checking out (especially since the director has made it available for free, with English subtitles, on Youtube - embedded above)!

I saw the Reddit drama. Please explain why Drakgo is a more interesting ship than KimRon.
first, thanks for the ask! second, whoaaaaaaa i wouldn't presume to label one ship more interesting than another. some people will find ships interesting, others won't.
i'll give a diff example. in my other current hyperfixation, soul eater, my friend adores Ship A while i'm all about Ship B. her ship IS interesting to me! i think those chars are the most shippable in the show, they're basically canon w/o PDA, and they are deeply complex both as individual chars and as a couple.
they're just... not the ones i'm hyperfixated on. doesn't make them uninteresting.
what makes a person's brain and heart grab onto one ship and not another? who can say.
a lack of personal interest in a ship does not make it objectively uninteresting, or worse... and a ship having way more attention than another in fandom doesn't objectively make that ship more interesting, or better.
CAN a person make canonical objective arguments for or against ships? certainly.
let's just grab characters from KP to use as example. Bonnie and Brick. canonically a couple for more than one episode! we do not get a lot of canon info onscreen for them, so most of the interest in them would have to come from fan creations. compare to Kim and Ron, who have infinitely more screentime together, infinitely more individual character development than Bonnie and Brick both as individuals and as a couple...
one could argue that Kim/Ron is more interesting than Brick/Bonnie. there's more to grab from the canon at least. but if a person wants to draw/write/talk at length about Brick/Bonnie? why not!
no reason to be hating on any ship. if it's not your ship, then just...don't engage?? especially if you're against said ship.
now me, personally, i find Drakgo more interesting than Kim/Ron. (altho recent convo with @creatorping got my Kim/Ron juices flowing again). Drakgo just appeal to me more as characters, with their gritty backgrounds, a lot more unknowns to explore, the challenge of two villains developing a mutual trusting relationship so they can have a happily ever after... that just grabs my mind and heart more than the perfect girl and her adorkable boyfriend. it doesn't mean Kim and Ron aren't interesting, cuz ohhhhh they are! mostly post-canon for me because...who ARE they, after high school?? who is Kim other than the student who saves the world? what's she gonna do with her life? and what is Ron gonna do? he absolutely can't go to the same college as her, and she can't ditch a good opportunity to go to a community college with him... my hang-up has always been that Kim wasn't given enough individual development onscreen to do anything interesting with her post-canon. but aforementioned convo with Ping changed my mind, heheh. 😏
in any case, the point... one ship isn't more or less interesting. one ship isn't better or worse than another. it's us, the viewer, who either will or won't be interested.
so as i've always said.... ship and let ship. don't like? don't interact. don't hate on someone else's ships or headcanons or POVs... (reddit...)
and, that's not the same thing as discourse. discussing characters, discussing points of view, interpretations... sharing various headcanons... with willing parties who want to enter into that conversation! THAT is a major part of fandom! but it's all in how one goes about it. and! should people come to disagree about interpretations of characters, also fine!
i think the issue arises when people start to act like... my interpretation is correct OR, my interpretation is the only valid one. when people get up on that horse, that's where the problems arise... it can be tough if you feel like you're the only person WITH a certain POV, but... again, if the folks you're chatting with aren't into it, then find other people. i'm in that boat with some soul eater headcanons, but, that's okay. i don't need to convince everyone else in the fandom in order rto enjoy my thoughts. i'll still talk about them, but, not with the idea of telling anyone my view is the only view. that's the antithesis of what fandom is about. i'll talk about them because i enjoy talking about them, to like-minded folk, and on my own blog which is what a blog is for.
and, idk why it shows up so often in the KP fandom, especially the Drakgo side, that people can't simply say "hey i have this headcanon!" and someone respond with "oh that's neat!" and just. happily co-exist. everyone creating their things, sharing their things. and people will like what they like, as they always have, in every fandom. and if they don't like someone's idea, that's fine too!
but it's not worth fighting about?? it never is! it's just not that important. it's fandom. it's fun. it's our escape. if one feels SO strongly against a concept, or ship, or whatever.... then you don't interact with it. you don't make it your mission to disprove the other person. you don't actively seek out opportunities to hate on a point of view you dislike. that's not how fandom is supposed to be. find your people, and chill with them.
let's all be positive in the various fandom spaces.
i hadn't intended that to be such a rant, but...well, there you have it. sorry it probably was not what you wanted to hear, but yeah. thanks again for the ask!!

✨ glasses-wearing blorbos tournament ✨
Hello and welcome to the glasses blorbos tournament poll!! Where we will find out which spectacled character reigns supreme over the rest (but not in a mean-spirited way, because we love peace and love) (the losers will all DIE, badly).
We will be determining how the bracket is seeded (randomized or not, etc.) from YOUR guys' opinions! we'll start asking once the submissions close.
Once the poll starts, we encourage asks, replies, tags, posts, etc. with propaganda for your faves!!
you can start submitting your glasses-wearing blorbos NOW here!: link to the google form. but please read the rules below first.
rules:
be nice to your fellow real, living, breathing people.
no terfs no bigots no bitches
submit only via the form linked above; submissions via ask will not be accepted. only use the asks for questions, propaganda, and to be super nice to us
there is no deadline for the submissions yet. we will see when we close them once we start to get submissions, so please submit!
don't submit the same character more than once, but do make several submissions for several different characters if you so wish. you know how it goes.
in principle, we will only be accepting submissions for characters who wear glasses, NOT contacts, for like at least about 50% of their screentime. but it doesn't mean nobody else will be accepted! characters who wear them very rarely, wear a monocle, or have some other weird thing going on that we can't even imagine right now will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
keep in mind we are two people who don't know every piece of media in the world, and we can't spend all of our time doing research!! for this reason, try to provide evidence if it needs to be provided!
the criteria for who the superior glasses-wearer is up to you: do they represent the SPIRIT of glasses-wearing better? are they more iconic for the fact of wearing glasses than the other one? do they wear their glasses BETTER? or are they just your FAVORITE out of the two?!?! doesn't matter. but we're thinking it's mostly about the latter.
There are some characters we will be including by default because at least One of us Likes them (Velma Scooby Doo, Alphys Undertale, Berdly Deltarune, Kim Kitsuragi from Disco Elysium, Teru Mikami from Death Note... maybe more...)
mods:
yo! i'm glitz, i'm also @thesoupisburning and i'm here because i wear glasses and think everyone should know ! i'll be doing most of the mathy stuff and also if you say anythin mean to us, you're saying something mean to rat and i WILL come for you. heart :} use any and all pronouns for me or check my carrd via my main. i am very friendly and love attention so please. please interact. also im opinionated and super sexy trust me bro <3
hi I'm @ratbefriender she/her you can call me Rat and it all started when I was approximately 7 years old and I wore glasses to school for the first time. when my classmates started asking me how many fingers they were holding up, I knew I had to fight the good fight for our brave spectacled blorbos, despite the word blorbos not existing yet. anyway: we're just having fun <3 be nice to us. peace and love.

pit babe ep 5 thoughts
Tumblr media
the priorities are shifting
needless to say, i was at the edge of my seat/swooning/angry throughout the entirety of this week's episode. here we go
ALANJEFF. SCREAM. i'm pretty sure i have side-couple-syndrome judging by how fixated i am on them and every single second of screentime they get. jeff's wet boba eyes...... alan's stern but caring face....... unrelated but i checked the actors' profiles on MDL and a) jeff's my age. hello, fellow 95er. b) who would've fucking thought they only have an age difference of two years c) impeccable casting
wait. the way jeff was fully expecting alan to side with him because he's already grown to trust alan in this unfamiliar place... and his trust is NOT misplaced. as a fellow introverted person, alan's concerns are spot-on. how can you expect other people to understand you and know your motives when you're that closed-off? it was a painful read but mostly justified. and we know (thanks to that wonderful preview) that alan's gonna do his best to get jeff to open up away from the pressure of The Workplace and prying eyes. he's gonna put in the effort. i love them sooooo much
also that toyota product placement was the funniest thing i've ever seen like i wanted to feel sad for jeff so badly but. it was undercut by the effective showcasing of the google maps bluetooth function
I STILL FEEL SO CONFLICTED ABOUT CHARLIE!!!!!!!!!! like i'm 99% sure that he genuinely cares about babe and isn't just pampering him in order to get that racing gig or whatever but. @ the showrunners PLEASE give us more insight into his motives. i can't enjoy half the sweet things he says and does when i don't know whether they're genuine or not.
that being said.............................. babe is SO in love. and who wouldn't be. charlie's little face, his determination to care for him, the attention he gives him. that whole pre-race-nerves scene was the cutest thing in the world. and pavel's In Love look is so fucking heartwarming. HIS ACTING IN THE FLASHBACK TOO. the little "eep" when he first started the motor. i am in love with him. he's so so sweet. i love that his hardened exterior is beginning to melt away more and more, despite the potential for further hurt. pavel's gonna EAT in future emotional scenes.
i want tony to eat dirt. and SOON. the way he treated cutie was abysmal. the scars and despair. wet and pathetic looking at himself in the mirror. i hope he and kim are going to bond soon and take that man DOWN. (i'm rooting for a death here.)
ik we're gonna get peteway but i didn't get anything from that first interaction. here's to hoping way's gonna realise he's gotta start focusing on other people soon because he continues to get on my nerves.
still don't care for sonic and the other guy like. cut their dialogue and give me more jeff. cut winner out too. JEFF. ALAN. JEFFALAN. more charliebabe forehead kisses. give me it.
idk what dean's gonna do but him getting punched by alan of all people........ dude must really, really fuck up in the next episode. can't wait. this is obviously gonna lead to him switching to red racing and colluding (touching tips) with winner, which i'm less excited about, but we'll see.
i love the whole "babe is probably gonna sit out the season we're so done he needs to recover let's get a replacement to support way asap" thing.... and then charlie and dean have to compete against babe. like girl..... isn't he supposed to rest fhskdjf
once again i'm avoiding book spoilers like the plague so i don't fucking know what's going on with babe's powers but uh. if this turns out to be a permanent thing, i doubt it's just from the accident.
on the other hand, i love that babe (with charlie's help) seems to be adjusting quite well. after the initial frustration after the crash, he didn't have another outburst while charlie was caring for him. he, like, accepted his circumstances and put his energy into helping his baby achieve his dream and. that's cute as hell.
that whole "but what are you gonna give me if i win wink wink" moment..... the fucking tension. HIS PUSSY. you're gonna get his pussy, charlie
ik we're not even halfway through the season but. PLEASE. tell me what charlie and jeff's plan is because, aside from the ominous phonecall in ep 1, i really don't get the vibe that they're doing anything malicious. and if their plan is to take down tony, how would they accomplish that when the xhunter team is basically imploding. partially due to their meddling/ unclear communication. WHAT IS THEIR PLAN. if they wanna build a secret society of Tony's Rejected Adopted Sons, they're gonna have to put in some real work. because those bonds are rotting.
ok i'm done. once more: i fucking love this show and it's getting more and more difficult to wait for each next episode. i wanna watch it all NOW. also [foaming at the mouth] alanjeff

watched scott pilgrim takes off. thoughts under the cut
Tumblr media
first off what an amazing feat this was of voice direction and communal understanding of vision from everyone involved. bringing back the cast of the movie to voice the anime was a heartfelt move but one I couldn't help but worry about a little after a long string of movie stars just not being fit for the voice booths that animation and game companies shove them into -- acting and voice acting are two very different talents! they're not mutually exclusive but I can think of a few examples where celebrities don't understand the difference or don't have enough guidance on the studio's part to understand what exactly they're giving voice to.
that isn't the case here. whoever they got as the booth director for the english dub definitely had the passion and familiarity for the role, enough that even little quirks and pauses in the animation are accounted for in the actors' delivery. In hindsight, I feel kind of stupid worrying about otherwise in the first place with how this whole project started with michael cera responding to a 9 year old email, which in itself should've prove that brain o'maileys work had long been on everyone's minds. but such a sentiment being shared in the animation and music as well really does make this feel like way more of a complete package then what you typically get from netflix. especially with how different of a concept this show is.
I don't have much to say in that regard that other people haven't already; it does characters justice, commits to everything the movie didn't, etc. I laughed a lot at the meta jokes but I also can't help but feel upset of the lack of media literacy for scott pilgrim that provoked a lot of them. I still wouldn't call scott's entire thing in this series a fully-fludged 'redemption arc' but its close within runtime confines and only ever almost fully-committed, much like scott himself, so it works -- not that I was ever looking for that. it was much more pleasing to have a story more focused on everybody else for once. always fun bechdel test your characters into not talking about your mainline protagonist. still didn't feel like everybody got the same treatment as the comics (envy, the twins -- & I'm of the opinion that kim is only marginally more fleshed out in this)
scratching my head a bit at the outcome of the last fight scene. got upset at young niel's comical struggle to write cause it hits so close to home. enjoyed wallace. enjoyed yuri. unless its a sequel doing something else with the universe I don't think we need any more scott pilgrim. as per the gif above, I just want to see fanart of knives chau being happy doing other stuff. for some reason stephen was always my favorite and he still got less screentime than the other characters but capturing his hysterical side was good enough for me.
9/10 overall. god I fucking wish future canada suburbs are just as overgrown and tech-less as they are in this anime.

Ok so what would you change about Voyager if you could :eyes:
More time spent on the Maquis-Starfleet divide/integration More arguments amongst the characters (related to above) More screentime/episodes devoted towards non-white characters (especially in later seasons) Harry Kim gets promoted shortly after Tom Paris gets demoted (dramaa....) More Tuvok episodes where he's fully himself and not altered in some way (he already has a suspiciously low amount of screentime for being The Series Vulcan [comparing him to Spock and T'Pol] and a lot of the plots he has hinge on him acting out of character) More time spent actually showing Tuvok and Janeway hanging out together. (I want to see those decades of friendship in action.) Tell me more about Tuvok's family (and as an extent, typical Vulcan family/relationship dynamics) right now. Tom & B'Elanna actually break up in 'Drive' (won the race but lost the girl...) Less time spent on the Borg in later seasons (I have a personal preference for more episodic plots being the norm and I truly do believe this can be achieved while building characters and keeping them consistent+interesting. I just find the borg stuff a bit boring and would like it more as like...a thing Seven has to contend with herself and the people around her, not an enemy that's actively attacking the ship all the time. Plus since they're in a new quadrant I'd personally prefer that the Villains of the show be things/people that Voyager has never encountered before, keeping them fully out of their depth.) Maybe related but I don't think the Borg Kids do much. Seven already has Naomi, she doesn't need to be a more literal mother imo. More horror/mystery episodes bc I just like them and I think Voyager's a perfect series for them given how they're trapped alone in space. The ultimate "I have no cell service!" Q appears in that one episode where Janeway & Tuvok have to argue for or against suicide and that's IT. He does NOT come back again. B'Elanna's call from the alpha quadrant comes from her mom instead of her dad. Generally more character relationships being built in a way that feels distinctly different/closer than in any series bc of their circumstances. I love character interaction. I always want more.

You have had your hands full! Don’t worry I have ENDLESS fanon thoughts so I will do my best to keep your ask box company 😌
Yes the advantage of feeding ourselves is we get to pick the menu!! I am CERTAIN at this point that Garfield and Benz simply pulled this ship out of thin air and made up their own headcanons to fill in for their lack of screentime LMAO. And NO YOU HAVE NOT TOLD ME ABOUT THIS WIP!! HOOKUPS FOLLOWED BY BETRAYAL?? BY TONY’S TOTALLY NORMAL PA?? YES PLEASE. I am basically eagerly awaiting everything you write at this point. AND YES KENTA IS INVESTED! How can his new boyfriend keep his visa if the team’s funding gets cut? Tragic.
This is why Kim is the realest to me. He asked for none of this and just rolled with the punches when most ppl would have either kept their heads down or fucked off. Objectively The Best. (SHFKFKFJJD Try telling Kim that Tony is his new owner—see how that goes down 😆)
(You are so right as always. Kim deserves ppl kneeling at his feet.)
Double offenses against us specifically, I’ll never recover. I’LL NEVER FORGIVE THEM IF WE DON’T EVENTUALLY GET SOME SORT OF FOLLOW-THROUGH! But yes supportive bf Kenta, it’s absolutely canon, he was definitely lurking in the stands somewhere.
Winner is so iconic and I love him… (multiple timelines running in our heads to carry all of the five hundred ships this show has provided)
Please give me ALL of your thoughts about collars, I beg of you, I live for this. Kenta would ABSOLUTELY be wearing his on the regular—he needs that reassuring weight under his shirt (totally normal about it saying “Kim’s” or smth similar on the tag). Like he’s fine with being a dog as long as it means he’s a beloved pet who doesn’t get cast aside! And Winner is ABSOLUTELY the type to bitch about a collar. He prob tried to make fun of Kenta for being collared (gets almost stabbed for it), but also passive aggressively moans about “Where’s MY present?” and then bitches about the collar when he DOES get it. And I’m SCREAMING HE DESERVES TO BE MUZZLED he’d be so cute… And Dean would look SO pretty in his collar (when is he NOT pretty tho lbr). PLEASE feel free to go on about what they look like! Kim can carry the keys to the collars around his neck 😌
I HOPE YOU ENJOY THE FICS! The KentaDean one is basically written just for the two of us. “The system works” LMFAO RESTORATIVE JUSTICE IN ACTION? Dean thinks he’s being SUBTLE but he has the BIGGEST puppydog expression when he wants something, like he emotes SO much in comparison to Kenta and Kim.
“He’s not a narcissist he’s just oblivious” ahdjfjf OUR BELOVED DUMBASS LOSER… I love the way he was as Tony’s henchman, like “I’m gonna be SUCH a good evil henchman my parents told me I was basically overqualified for this job—you want bodyguards? I’ll GET you bodyguards. I let those guys escape but I TOTALLY foiled their little scooby-doo plot because I am the BEST henchman. I’m SOOO much better than Kenta you know like fuck that guy and his stupid handsome eyes-“ Again it’s like… he gives himself so much affirmation he doesn’t need it from others; it’s just attention he wants. He’s SO interesting! And I love the contrast of Kim’s response to Tony being “Absolutely NOT” while Winner’s is “Absolutely YES” they should fuck about it, for our enjoyment.
I’M PLACING MY BETS ON THE MV COMING OUT THIS FRIDAY (prob late evening for you?). I think they’ll save the more emotional ones for after the fanmeet next week (unless they’re only doing one MV drop a month in which case haha catch me lying deceased on the floor!)
HOW COULD YOU BREAK MY POOR LITTLE HEART LIKE THIS?? DEAN HAVING SOMETHING WITH KIM (A FRESH START) ONLY TO END UP FEELING LIKE HE’S BEEN REPLACED… AGAIN… WHY DO WE KEEP PUTTING HIM IN SITUATIONSHIPS AND THEN MAKING HIM FEEL REJECTED. I’M HURTING 😭😭😭 I feel like having Kim’s attention would be so fulfilling? Rewarding? That the slight absence of it is like the sun going out. DEVASTATING (and DELICIOUS for me). But Pete just dropping Kenta off like Kim is running a doggy daycare is hilarious dkfjehshf I have this mental image of Pete carrying Kenta by the scruff of his neck?? And Dean is self-destructing while Kim is just. Unfazed about all of it! Dean wants him to be jealous, meanwhile Kim is like. “It’s physically impossible to be jealous of Winner. But if he hurt you, if he forced you, if you hated it, that’s a different conversation.” I just really need someone going to bat for Dean. There’s something to explore about the difference between possessiveness (what Dean wants or thinks he wants) and protectiveness (what Kim will actually provide).
I will send you five million more words about my ideas once you’ve had a chance to read the fic, since it expounds a lot on what I mentioned before and also just my feelings about our doggies. Also I’ve got like, various heat scenarios to talk about as well!
honestly Garfield and Benz are throwing themselves into this ship with no reservations. I hope they get cast in another show together clearly they deserve to make out on camera like they want 😌
I'm honestly like. mad about that fic lmao I woke up in the middle of the night and wrote a whole bunch of it in my notes app and then when I woke up the next day I CLOSED THE NOTES WITHOUT SAVING. devastated. have to start from scratch. BUT now I'm like. it would probably work better from Kim's POV? but then I'd have to rewrite this which I really like lol :(
When Mr Tony had told Kenta to organise for Kim to be picked up from the airport and taken to the hotel, he definitely hadn't meant for Kenta to do the chauffeuring himself. But finding the loopholes in Tony's orders was how Kenta managed his life these days, so he was waiting in Arrivals in his usual black suit with a printed sign at 6pm the following Tuesday, surrounded by a group of men attired and be-signed much the same. Which was probably why Kim didn't give Kenta a second glance as he walked up. No big deal; Kenta’s used to being overlooked. “K’Kim?” he asks in polite confirmation, although he recognises Kim very well from the photographs he’s studied. Kim gives him a nod. This time he takes a good look at Kenta, sharp eyes sweeping from his carefully styled hair down to his perfectly shined shoes.
anyway then they go to Kim's hotel room and hook up and it starts from there.
Kim in the last few episodes is the BEST. he's just like "time fro breakfast! sure I'll chase down a teenager for a phone. sure I'll come along and beat up Winner in a funky jacket. sure I'll join your racing team and adopt north and sonic as my babies."
I NEED A FOLLOW UP I NEED A SPECIAL EPISODE OR A SEASON TWO. I hope we get something, even tiny crumbs, from the fanmeeting coming up. until it happens I can live in hope lmao.
!!! NOT THE KEYS THAT'S PERFECT!!! oh for sureee Kenta wears his basically all the time. its definitely black leather, right? he has a day collar something like this. or it says return to owner with Kim's details!! and then he has a more substantial collar for when they're at home, with rings for attaching a leash or ties to. yessss Winner. he doesn't care about it but also he should be given presents especially if other people are getting presents! I feel like his collar is red. probably leather as well. spiked!! or maybe something like a martingale collar so it's fine until someone pulls on it. imagine how pretty something like this would be for Dean though! or was thinking like an actual chain necklace/choker so he can wear it all the time and it's all delicate. I'm just imagining them all at the club or whatever, I think Kim deserves to hook his fingers in Kenta's collar while they're sitting drinking and pull him in until he's practically in Kim's lap. or maybe dancing and Kim tugs Dean's shirt down to show off his neck and Kim's claim.
IT WAS SO GOOD as you could probably tell by the insane comment I left. Dean has NO POKER FACE WHATSOEVER he's so easy to read!! how did he get away with any crimes!
the bad guy mv….DELIGHTFUL. even if it was just singing and dancing I love it with every part of my heart.
we keep putting Dean in this situations because he's….so pretty when he cries and is all emotional. BUT LIKE. Kim's not even stopping anything with Dean! in my head he's not even really starting anything with kenta, he's just being supportive and helping the guy integrate into society like a functioning human being. but of course nobody can use their words. Dean alwasy goes from 0-100 INSTANTLY. "It’s physically impossible to be jealous of Winner" LMAOOO. so true. askjfh PAINNNN. Dean definitely thinks he wants possessiveness - I think that's why the polycule works because Kim does offer protectiveness but I think both Winner and Kenat go for possessiveness. Winner because they're HIS things. and Kenta because he's had so little and can't lose any more. Kim is like. "unhealthy! but also…kinda hot." sometimes you just want a dude to go a little bit feral over you. okay.
!!! SEND HEAT RELATED THOUGHTS IMMEDIATELY. we should also talk about designations. I think in the show they're all just. not alphas. but personally I cannot write Winner as anything but an alpha. I tend to go for the other three as betas except for the fics I started early in the show with Kenta as an alpha lol. and I just started messing about with a sci fi au where perhaps Kim's suppressant chip malfunctions and it turns out he's not a beta and now he's about to go into heat in a very cramped ship... but I'm pretty sure I can be convinced any way for these four lol.

LAST TIME ON MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS/TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES II: Krang got jealous of both the Turtles’ and the Rangers’ new fits so he decided to dress himself up in the Megazord to beat out everybody.  But meanwhile Rita got rid of the top of Casey’s helmet and that turned him evil somehow?  idk.  Not everyone can handle fashion.  It’s the finale of MMPR/TMNT II, MMPR/TMNT II #5!
Tumblr media
- As I’ve said before I don’t usually cover preview posts in the main one but it’s important for context: our favorite cash cow, Green Ranger Shredder, is back in business
Tumblr media
- Sorry to both of you but we already know from canon that if Zordon ever dies he will be Frankensteined back to life against the wishes of literally everybody
Tumblr media
- I DON’T KNOW WHAT APRIL WOULD THINK BECAUSE SHE WAS NOT GIVEN ANY SORT OF SCREENTIME DISCUSSING HER FEELINGS ABOUT HER BOYFRIEND BEING EVIL
Tumblr media
- Brainwashed Casey in the last issue of the book was not needed at all (especially when we’re already dealing with Boring Guy Is Brainwashed over on the main series.  I need these writers to stop trying to rip off Green With Evil without really understanding why Green With Evil was so good) but it’s still funny to me how he’s acting more loyal than he did when he wasn’t brainwashed
Tumblr media Tumblr media
- it’s a weak bunch of men who can’t support women’s wrongs!!!!!!!!!
Tumblr media
- WE ARE COMING TO BEAT YOU TO DEATH
Tumblr media
- YEEEEEEAAAAAAAHHHHH THAT’S MY MUTANT POWER COUPLE!!!!!!!!!!
Tumblr media
- Dragon Turtlezord looks good.  Kind of typical for a Dragonzord combination at this point.  But Dan Mora pulls it off because goddamn can he draw a mech blueprint!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tumblr media
- THEY’RE CALLED SPACE DUMPSTERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tumblr media
- that’s right bitches CANON human TMNT designs!!!!!!!!!!!!!  The best thing about this series was giving the Rangers canon fursonas and the TMNT canon humansonas.  god bless
Tumblr media
- i already ranted about this so.  top ten moments that should empower me as a woman but just made me mad instead.  right up there with Red Ranger Amelia
Tumblr media
- I apologize for accusing this series of not giving the MMPRs any exploration as characters because Kim had a clear arc of not being a furry to becoming a furry.  Love that for her
Tumblr media
- CUTE
Tumblr media
- Shredder jumping from Krang to Rita to Zedd, bisexual icon!

So I think in S2 (yes because they need to give us S2) KimChay will be there more because:
Kim's character was in the detective mood the whole time and still, we got nothing about his results. He surely knows the things or at least most of it behind his father's actions.
Barcode finally will be 18, so it gives more space for the directors to work with his character. And yes, we need at least one KimChay kiss so...
Kim was the hottest maffia boi, a protector, a fighter a real killer (just think about it, how many times did u see bodyguards with him?), - and he DESERVES more screentime doin' his business.

WHY IS IN THE BORDERLINE SO LONG IM ACTUALLY SICKKK I DIDNT MEAN FOR RAON TO GET SAVED 100K WORDS IN HOW DID THIS HAPPEN HE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE SAVED 70K WORDS AGO 😭😭😭😭
The four years before the plaza incident arc was supposed to be a ARC it was supposed to be SHORT. WHAT HAPPENED!! WHAT HAPPENED !!!!
It was gonna be like 16k words, time skip, Choi Han joins the party, they save Raon, Choi Han backstory 30k words later after the plaza incident, but than I realized that wouldn’t make sense and if I didn’t explain at least a part of the reason the timeline is so messed up it would feel too sudden…ohhhhhhh this fic is going to be so much longer than I intended ithink I’m cooked//.. what if I’m writing this fic until I graduate school 💔💔💔/lh
I still have so much stuff I need to write, like Kim Roksoo’s focus section on Eartj since he doesn’t have enough screentime… I need to write about the Chois… I need to write about all the other things I have planned and yet my draft is already over 100k words… no one prepared me for how crazy being a fic writer is the most words I’ve written before this was like 40k 😭😭😭😭
At least this gives me more time to reread TCF I guess
The more I read over my draft chapters the more I feel like I’m missing grammar errors and mistakes… one day I’m gonna write something incomprehensible and I won’t even realize until two months later 💀💀 I’m having a good time writing I promise but at the same time I’m so scared I’m writing ooc but the only person who is reading these drafts is me I don’t even know if I can catch myself writing ooc because what if my interpretation of the characters has just been wrong this whole time(I may be overthinking)

14 episodes wasn't enough. I loved everything they managed to put in and I KNOW how hard editing and managing the episode length is. But I'm a greedy hoe so I'm gonna list the things that I wished could have been covered in season 1.
1. Macau and Chay school shenanigans
2. Actual business side of the mafia families. The show only focused on the bodyguards but the actual meat is in the business side. You need managers, secetorial staff, administrators, IT, etc. Civilian staff basically. Would have loved to see some ipad wielding, number crunching nerds.
3. THE MOMS!! KINN'S MOM IN PARTICULAR!! He's more like his mom!! Please I am begging you BOC do this for me I make decent money I will bankroll season 2 for you just hit me up.
4. More Yok, Jom and Tem shenanigans with Kinn. We got a bunch of scenes of Porsche with Kinn's friends but I wanted the reverse as well.
5. More lady Jessica. What's her story. Tell me EVERYTHING.
6. More brotps. Tankhun and Porsche needed more screentime after ep3. Kinn and Pete as well. Vegas and Tankhun?? Hellooo??
7. Kim and Vegas when??
8. Macau and Tankhun please I'm begging
9. Any women. A mafia boss lady, an assassin, a bodyguard I'm am starving for some women.
10. Law enforcement encounters with the Mafia. I think that would be interesting. The families would then need to also involves lawyers in their human resources which is one more excuse to hire more women. Do it Kinn, you coward.
11. Pete's dating history.
12. More hand to hand combat training montages so we can have Porsche spar with Kinn Pacific rim styles.
13. MORE ACTION SCENES!! I love action and this wasn't enough 😭😭😭 more unrealistic cool action scenes please. More kicking and punching. Less guns. That Kim scene in the bar was so well done. More of that.
14. Any public sort of an event where they have to behave around each other. Like the entire Theerapanyakul family and their staffs have to go to a crime wedding and it's awkward and funny as hell. Imagine the chaos.
Feel free to add more.

i would like to hear your honest opinion do you think that since a few seasons (seasons 8, 9 and 10 1/2) PD has become boring in terms of story and writing and in general?
Short Answer: Definitely! They have lost their creativity and intensity. In the past seasons, every episode brought us to the edge of our seats. But now, both the cases are boring, and the personal stuff is getting repetitive.
Long Answer:
You probably didn't ask for a rant, but I'm giving it to you anyways. Sorry in Advance! 😊
To be honest, S8, as a whole, wasn't that bad. The Upstead stuff was amazing. Kim's story with Makayla was really sweet and meaningful for the character. I liked Kevin's storyline at the beginning and how the Doyle shooting was wrapped up. But I didn't like how every Kevin episode was about the blue wall and his race. Vanessa's sudden disappearance is something that still bothers me, but I guess we have to blame COVID for that. The cases were interesting and intense at the same time. And although it was a character-centric format, I really think the balance between personal and case was good. And let's not forget the epic finale they had. In my opinion, the best finale PD has ever done.
For S9, you have to evaluate it as two parts, 9a, and 9b. 9a was really good. The continuation of the Roy storylines was perfect, and the end, even though it felt a little anticlimactic with North's character, was a decent wrap to the storyline. The Upstead angst was worth it. The flow was starting to become choppy, but since the content was so good, I ignored it.
9b, on the other hand, was just a disappointment. Anna was introduced in 9a, and I still don't understand why they couldn't wait till 9b. Her character was so confusing. I liked her sassiness and her boldness, but her relationship with both Voight and Jay was all over the place. I also don't understand what the whole point was of having Jay create "a deal" with Voight in 9x09 if he never actually followed through with it. I liked the whole Kim fighting for Makayla during the adoption, but everything after that felt pointless. Like they needed something to give Burzek a storyline. There was no reason to kidnap and traumatize a young girl who was already previously traumatized. Instead of showing Makayla recovering from her kidnapping, they should have taken those episodes to focus more on Kim and her trauma after losing her baby one season and then being shot and left to die the next. Don't get me started on Kevin and his "relationship" with Celeste. I actually thought Celeste and Kevin had great chemistry and potential, but they literally ruined it in the first episode they introduced Celeste. Kevin deserved better than that. Anna's storyline had way too much focus than it needed. It just dragged on for too long, and the finale was just sad. There was no intensity or drama. Compared to its previous finale, this one was boring. Still bitter that we never got Will and Hailey scenes in 9x13 and never got worried Jay in 9x22. Why spend so much money and time on an explosion if there is no drama afterward.
S10 so far... let's see. The Anna stuff of 10x01 felt weird. We never really saw Voight move on from Anna's death. It just felt incomplete. And somehow, all this mess led to Jay crossing lines and deciding to leave 3 episodes later. The biggest disappointment of this season is how Jay was written out. He deserved better than being given 3 episodes to exit. It was rushed, sudden, and truly unnecessary. I'm glad that Hailey is getting a lot of screentime, but I'm not glad that all her screentime is sad Hailey on repeat. The acting is superb, but come on, stop finding more ways to make her sad. I'm not gonna dig into Burzek's situation, and how I feel about that. All I'll say is I just hope they stay like this. Torres is an interesting character, and I like his partnership with Kevin, but I do wish that they did a Torres episode before Jay's departure. Jay was the one that brought Torres to the unit; it would have been nice to see Jay help Torres fit in and slowly shift to Torres and Kevin. And I feel like it's a season too late to bring up Kim's trauma. My guess is they're gonna use this to bring Kim and Adam together, but why didn't they do it last season. I guess the only good that that's come out of S10 so far is how quiet Voight's character is. He has truly been in the background, even during the Sean/Chief stuff.
I think the big difference for me is that during S8, I was actually interested in every character's episodes. But now, I could care less what happens to everyone else. All I care about is Hailey and hoping that there is a happy ending for Upstead.

boys planet initial pick list
supporting blindly:
uehara ichika
he's just a good guy (and a bit of a gag character tbh) but he's a good singer and a good entertainer. i actually really wanted him to transition to rapping based on this clip - the sing rap style really suits him (he wrote a short rap about being compared to his younger brother, jun, who's a member of the jpop group orbit). do i think he fits kpop or this group at this point? no, but i hope he can grow a fanbase and then transition into acting. fun fact: he's now been the oldest contestant on two survival shows (b. 1992, chuang 2021 & now boys planet). on chuang he often took on the father/caretaker/translator role, and i suspect that if he gets screentime boys planet will be similar.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
zhang shuaibo
he's hu yetao coded. iykyk. through him yetao will be avenged 🙏 he's '02 line which is the youngest i will actually support tbh. linked here is his cover of somi's dumb dumb, which he ate in my humble opinion.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
probably a pick:
kim jiwoong
b 1998. great singer, serving face, popular. was in a bl??? idk but ill be keeping track of him for sure. ex-inx i think? apparently he was in the drama onlyoneof made an ost for. i have no idea what he's singing here but it's a serve.
Tumblr media
chen jianyu
he's attractive, and not a child (b. 1998). the only rapper i expect to be supporting. my new rule is no rappers unless theyre also visuals or actually good enough to carry a whole solo career a la woodz/cho seungyoun. we'll see.
Tumblr media
hui
hui needs no introduction. but i will say based on current response im not expecting him to have a yujin arc. they picked the most terrible photo of him ive ever seen in my life. good luck and godspeed cousin. (b 1993)
will pay attention to:
hiroto
he was on chuang (and pd101 japan which i havent watched). tbh i didnt really care for him on chuang but i actually dont mind him now. he's a good dancer, decent singer, and he'll bring lots of mom fans from china lmfao. im hoping that he's grown a bit in the past year and a half. i'd really like to see him more comfortable socializing and showing his personality. (b 2002)
wumuti
my friend liked him on under19. he's not a bad singer or dancer, plus he was about to be in u19 debut group until he had to leave the show, so im curious about him. (b 1999)
sung hanbin
he's the theme song center, although i still havent watched tbh. he's decent looking, a good singer, and he has a lot of stans already lmfao. apparently his actual strength is dance, which is a plus (this time around im also anti dancers whos only position is dancer. u need to sing and/or be attractive. no dozens in 2023). (b 2001)
seo won
idk. he has a good face, and isnt a child (b 2000). a member of nine.i. i saw some videos of him performing and he seems solid!
lee seunghwan
b 2000. beat the ugly profile photo curse and i love that for him. pretty good vocalist, but from the little i've observed (u19 and 1the9 clips) he makes a lil stank face when performing that doesn't help him. we'll see!
wen yechen
b. 2000. a singer who SINGS!!! he sounds veryy good here but he feels veryyy marked for flopdom tbh. ex jyp trainee, ex-ywy
xuanhao
b 1995. we love hags perfectly reasonably aged young people pursuing their dreams!! (tentatively trying to cut hag out of my speech we'll see if it sticks). idk i just liked him face. not like he's hot more like i like his vibe. seems to be a dancer.........if he's useless at singing i might have to drop him 😭 lso seems destined for flopdom.
min
b 2000. another one who just has good vibes. was on u19 as well.
assorted pics:

l → r: seowon, seunghwan, yechen, and xuanhao

Train to Busan (2016)
Tumblr media
Train to Busan makes great use of the familiar elements of a zombie movie by centering its plot on a single location and injecting societal commentary into its plot. While this 2016 horror film does not reinvent the wheel, what it does, it does well.
Seo Seok-woo (Gong Yoo), the divorced, workaholic absentee father of Su-an (Kim Su-an), agrees to bring his daughter to Busan so she can visit her mother. Onboard the train, a young woman suddenly bites one of the attendants. Soon, an infectious disease has reduced most of the passengers to gnashing ghouls. Those who remain must work together to survive.
After introducing Seok-woo and Su-an at their home, nearly all of the story takes place inside the titular train to Busan. We get a couple of stops along the way but these are at a train station and at a terminal, which are extensions of the train itself. On top of the usual fears of having to face possessed loved ones and rampant infection, we also deal with claustrophobia. The space inside the train is already small and it keeps getting smaller. When someone becomes infected, everyone rushes to the next compartment and blocks the entrance. The safe space has shrunk. Sometimes, people are forced to hide in the tiny bathrooms, holding the door shut as best they can while fingernails scrape the other side. The limited space and ressources requires ingenuity - both from the characters and the filmmakers. This is one of those movies where you can tell writer Park Joo-suk sat down and wrote every aspect of the train he could use. Tunnels, the bathrooms, luggage, doors, passengers, etc. You feel a certain satisfaction whenever he ticks off one of these boxes - you were just wondering how the characters would deal with X. They need to use their wits to survive and you’re glad to see that they’re all pretty sharp.
You can also tell care was put in the writing by the number of well-rounded characters. Not everyone gets equal amounts of screentime but you get to know many passengers. They’re not just bodies waiting to get infected. There’s character development and growth. You understand what makes these people tick. This is also where the movie injects some commentary about our society (or Korea’s, I guess). If there’s an antagonist - besides the zombies - it’s a rich businessman called Yon-suk (Kim Eui-sung). You can see he might represent Seok-woo's future. Both are well-paid tie-wearing men who are all about their jobs, and nothing else. Both are disconnected from the world, as evidenced by their treatment of the other passengers. Unlike the altruistic blue-collar Yoon Sang-hwa (Ma Dong-seok), they hesitate to help anyone. With his relation to his daughter already strained, you can picture Seok-woo becoming exactly like the older man - and you hate that guy. He’s a worm but he’s also got power. The attendants and the train’s captain all turn to him - the rich guy - rather than the common people when a crisis arises. They don't realize he only cares about himself. Everyone is scared but his fear threatens to doom everyone. We’re used to this idea that “the worst monsters are the people” in zombie movies so it doesn’t feel out of place, and it gives you something to think about too.
The picture maintains a steady level of suspense throughout. Whenever you get a reprieve, it’s either to set up somethig even bigger or allow you to get to know the characters. Now that you care about them that much more, the stakes feel bigger than before. The body count grows, the number of people shrinks, those who remain you’re even more determined to see survive. Best of all, you’re not sure who will make will live and who won't.
Train To Busan is one of the better zombie films in recent years. It’s got the right amount of gore and suspense to keep horror fanatics happy and it shows restraint when needed to make it nice and accessible to the rest too. (Original Korean with English subtitles, April 2, 2021)

infodumping about boys planet bc . i (unsurprisingly) started hyperfixating on it n my autistic ass needs to infodump so here r my picks 9 hrs before the 1st elimination
- sung hanbin my love my joy and pride my #1 pick since the first moment i saw him it was love at first sight hes born to be an idol and the center #sunghanbin5thgenitboy
- keita : he is actually the second coming of jesus christ
-zhang hao : the reason is pretty obvious ngl so so so talented he has no flaws
- park gunwook : i am in LOVE with him srs gen idc if ppl think hes arrogant he still has more talent in his left pinky finger than the ppl who hate him have in their whole body sooo,,,,,,, im his number one defender and i'll always be , Fuck mnet for trying to paint him as a bad guy
- osuke : my nugu fav i already know hes getting eliminated but i still somehow have hope that his popularity will inexplicably skyrocket and he'll be saved (im already crying over the fact that hes getting eliminated
- anthonny : my second pick at first sight
- jeong ichan : hes So good but mnet is once again doing him dirty with the screentime n only showing him when he makes mistakes/hes sick (he literally looked like he was abt to faint in his fancam) im getting iland flashbacks he deserves better
- yoo seungeon : during his high note in the aju nice performance he got possessed by the spirit of boo seungkwan himself n honestly ? good for him
