Sun and Moon 🌙
Lucifer x bunny!sinner!reader
Tumblr media
No one dares to harm his little bunny
When I pre-read the chapter I accidentally read Sailor Moon instead of "Sun and Moon." Got me confused for a second💀
Soft Lucifer, Violence
Tumblr media
You didn’t know how lucky you got when you started to date Lucifer.
His outgoing nature was so attractive to you. He was a complete contrast to your personality. He is an extrovert, and you are a complete introvert.
He liked meeting new people while you enjoy staying in his garden. He planted your favorite plants in this garden.
You cured his depression with every smile you gifted him. Sometimes Lucifer even spends time with you in the garden. Either on a picnic date or doing gardening.
Even though Lucifer could easily get gardeners to do that job, he couldn't resist how much fun you actually had. When a new flower started to grow you pulled him towards the little sprout.
You're so cute and innocent. How did you even get into hell?
You two loved the peace when you’re alone, no words need to be spoken. Just you two under the red galaxy in pentagram city.
In the winter Lucifer holds you close to his body as his wings cover the areas his body can’t hold.
Lucifer was madly in love with you.
How soft you spoken and how shy you were in other presence. Meanwhile in his presence you were hyperactive.
You showed him all kinds of things you drew and painted for him. Lucifer was so proud of you.
Ever since he found you in some bush, completely hurt and bruises scattered all over your body.
Your little bunny ears dropped in fear when you saw Lucifer approaching you. Your little tail twitched when you saw the juicy red apple in his hand.
You wanted to run off, but the apple smelled so divine and good.
You quickly snatched the Apple out of his hand and ate it in silent, your eyes never left his figure. The juice of the apple is melting on your tastebuds, and you sigh in pleasure.
This Apple taste amazing.
Lucifer chuckled at your antics. A blush creeped on your cheek and your ears covered your face.
How embarrassing the moment was for you, for Lucifer it was the cutest thing alife.

You sat down on his couch and hissed when the alcohol pad touched your open cuts. “Why were you in the bush anyways?” Lucifer giggled at the flashbacks how you sat there in the mud.
“There were some shark guys. They didn’t stop following me and I was so scared… I don’t even know where I am nor why I’m here.” Your ears sunk a bit and Lucifer regrets bringing such a sensitive topic up.
You've changed so much and grown fond of him. And that’s where everything begins.
Lucifer started to make a little bunny that looked just like you. A quick reminder of his cute little bunny girlfriend that awaits him after work.
He lets you stay in his estate to protect you at every cost. You were too adorable to not care about you.
He just loved how your tail wagged when he showed you some of his newer ducks that were inspired by your art.
The walls in his empty and cold mansion started to fill with your paintings. The old pictures of him and Lilith were slowly replaced by your art.
But one day changed everything about your relationship.
Your blood dripped down on the cold surface. The laughs from the shark guys were terrifying. You were scared out of your mind.
Your phone dropped in front of you, Lucifer contacts are complete on display. “Call your little lover boy.” You shook your head desperately. 'No.'
Lucifer was always helping you out no matter what. You don’t want to be a burden for him, but you found yourself always in trouble. You wanted to cry and disappear.
Meanwhile in the Morningstar estate Lucifer was going crazy.
He was having a phenomenal day with his daughter and when he came back.
You were gone.
All that was left was a fur ball of your h/c hair and a little note. The note burned down in his palm as he read through it.
The sharks kidnapped his precious little bunny. His wings sprung free and glides through the air like a knife through butter.
He couldn’t keep himself from punching into the shark men till they were a puddle of bloody meat.
He threw your numb body over his shoulder and flew outside, leaving the burning building behind him.
After that event your social anxiety only grew. Lucifer encouraged you to be more social, but it cost more pain than relief.
So instead he gifted you a high quality camera for a new hobby you wanted to explore a long time ago.
Photography.
How couldn't he give in when you looked so excited talking about stuff you wanted.
He left the whole pentagram knowing that no one would lay a finger on them.
No one dares to touch his precious bunny.

A/n: I couldn't help myself not to share this.

Hello! Could you please write a story where the reader disobeys orders given by Eris, and then she is hurt and Eris is angry? Thank you!
Didn’t Listen
Eris x reader
A/n: over protective scared Eris
Warnings: some angst and blood
The current situation you and your guard, Alfie, are in is your fault. You had talked Alfie into going out to the rock wall just behind the Forest House. Eris had told you a thousand times, ‘stay off the rock wall, it’s dangerous.’
You were currently hanging from a ledge on said rock wall, your foot slipping. Alfie was yelling at you to get down, but you honestly didn’t think you could get down. It also didn’t help that you were hanging over the Deep Lake. Another part of nature in Autumn you were told to never go near.
The myth of the Deep Lake was that the bottom was never ending. Not even the water nymphs came back from exploring the blackness of the bottom.
You were trying to your hardest not to panic and to do that you needed Alfie to shut the hell up. “ALFIE! I need you to be quiet so I can focus!” “Yes my Lady!” You rolled your eyes at the sarcasm lacing his tone. You inched one of your hands over slowly. Feeling the rock crumble you snap your hand back, you let it dangle before putting it back on the ledge.
“I’m getting Eris!” Alfie yelled, sprinting back to the house. You were panicking because now you were alone. And if you fell alone, with no one to potentially pull you from the lake before you drifted into the darkness scared the living hell out of you.
Your heart was thundering. You were doing everything to keep from shaking. If anything, you were disappointed in yourself right now. You knew Eris could climb the wall no problem. But that was because Eris and his brothers climb it when they were younger.
You just wanted to prove to Eris that you weren’t some fragile thing that always needed to be watched over. Lost in thought, you feel your hands sweating causing you to slip. “Oh no, no, no no.” You couldn’t get your grip back. You tried with all your strength to grip the rock, your nails breaking from scratching at the hard surface. You feel blood leaking from your cracked nails.
The mix of blood and sweat coating your hands forced you to let go. A blood curdling scream leaves your lips and your stomach drops. All you can do is close your eyes and try to force your body to a safe space.
As you fall a few more feet you hit a wide ledge. You hear your bones crunch, landing on your side. You let out a whimper. Tears prick your eyes as you roll onto your back, clutching your arm to your chest. The pain was burning your skin.
Your vision was going in and out, your eyes threatening to close. You force them open. If you closed your eyes you were afraid you would die. In your battle for consciousness you didn’t hear Eris and Alife sprinting to the wall.
The last thing you saw before you closed your eyes was Eris’ face.
When you finally opened your eyes you were in bed. Eris was sitting in a chair holding your good hand. His long red hair tousled from the amount of times he ran his hands through it from stress. Tears ran down his cheeks silently. He hadn’t noticed you were up yet. You could tell Eris was zoned out, his eyes had a distant look.
You squeezed his hand, his head snapping to you. His mouth set in a frown as he focused on you. “Hey,” you forced out, your throat dry from screaming, “Eris I’m ok.” He shakes his head slowly. “No. How can you say that? Why? Why did you do that? I’ve told you so many fucking times to stay away from the wall. And you blatantly disobey me.” His words were too calm. You went cold at his tone, the realization finally hitting you of how dangerous the wall truly was.
Eris’ tongue darted out, wetting his lips. He turned his face from you, closing his eyes and squeezing out unshed tears. “Eris, I’m sorry. I just wanted to show you I was strong…b-but it didn’t go how I wanted.” Eris scoffed his eyes opening. “Really?”
You swallowed the lump in your throat. “What did the healer say?” You wanted to change the subject before it turned into another fight. Eris takes a deep breath. Trying his best to stay calm. “You have a few bruised ribs, a broken arm but she fixed it, and a concussion. A few scrapes. Other than that you’re ok.” You nod against the pillow.
“Have I ever told you why I wanted you away from the wall?” Avoiding his gaze you answer, “No.” still clinging to your hand he rests his forearms next to you. “When my brothers and I were younger our father made us climb it. He told us whoever got to the top was the strongest and would be worthy of inheriting his power and title. We knew it was another bullshit competition he had come up with between us, but we couldn’t risk not participating.
He didn’t tell us that the rock was frail in places. It looked like it would hold us but was unnaturally thin. If we didn’t climb fast enough or grab the right places we’d fall, like you did. All seven of us were climbing one afternoon, I was almost ahead when Lucien slipped. I couldn’t let him drop. So when he slipped again I went back down and helped him.
I lost and was punished that night for showing compassion. For not taking what was rightfully mine and letting my heart get in the way.” Now you were crying. You had no idea. There was a lot Eris still hadn’t talked about when it came to Beron. There were decades of trauma he was working on sorting through.
You hated how this was how it came out. You scared him, probably sent him back to that moment when he saw you laying on that ledge. “I -“ His voice cracks, you cut Eris off by bringing his hand to your lips leaving a gentle kiss on the back of his hand.
“I’m sorry I scared you. That wasn’t what I wanted. I was just mad about yesterday and I didn’t know that was why, about the wall. And I’m so sorry he made you do that. But thank you for telling me, I know it’s hard to talk about it. Any of it. It’s just another weight off your chest my love and I’m proud of you.”
Eris gives you a small smile. “And I’m sorry about yesterday. You are strong, I’m just so scared to lose you.” You scoot over patting the spot you were just in. Eris climbs into bed and you rest your head on his chest.
“You’ll never be rid of me my love.” He lets out a breathy chuckle. “Good.”

Batfamily Halloween Special🎃
Bruce was throwing his annual Halloween Costume Party, and let every year all the kids always dress up. Most of kids weren’t in the Manor as they would arrive later to join in the spooky festivities.
Alfred was overseeing the staff with last minute decorations. Fake blood, cobwebs, fake skulls, fog machine. Anything you could find at your local Spirt Halloween Alfred had gotten to first. The DJ was finishing his last few technical checks and the catering company was always done with the last few creative dishes.
Meanwhile, upstairs Damian was fidgeting in his sit,”Are we almost Sister?”
“Hold still or you makeup will get messed up.” Y/n was the only person home that could help Damian finish with his costume. After a few moments she pulled back and smiled,”All done.”
Damian flung out of his seat and into his sister’s bathroom to look at his makeup.
“Wow, you managed to make me look the skeleton from that film Grayson made me watch.”
“Jack, you look like Jack Dames.” She took a comb and finished smoothing out his hair. “What’s your costume?” He inquired taking the combing to fix his own hair.
She went into her closet and came out dressed as cowgirl Barbie from the movie with hat and boots.
“Now go put on your costume Dames Dick said he’s five minutes away with the girls.” She fixed her wig and adjusted her scarf. Damian walked to his room around the corner and changed into the costume his brother had gotten for him a few days ago.
When he emerged from his room, Dick and Y/n were laughing at a his phone and noticed Damian.
“Aww Little D, you look so frightening.”
“Tt. And what are you supposed to be Grayson.”
“Aladdin,Kori’s running late but she’s going to be Jasmine.” The three went downstairs which was now in full effect and Alfred greeted the siblings dressed as Count Dracula.
“Nice fang Alife.” Alfred smiled at the three and offered them red punch in black and purple plastic cups. “Why Thank you Master Richard, I must stay though they do take a lot to get used to.”
Barbara arrived with Cassandra, Stephanie and Duke all dressed for the party.
“Aww Dami you look so adorable.” Steph fussed taking pictures of the youngest. He huffed and walked away into the main ballroom where the music was blasting but only a few people from Wayne Enterprise and Queen Construction had arrived.
———
Y/n snapped a few pictures with Duke and Barbara aka Spider-man and Kim Possible.
Jason arrived with Tim and Bernard not far behind him. “May wanna close that vest up Dickhead your getting cold.” He teased Dick who rolled his eyes.
“IT’s October Jason.”
“My nipples aren’t sharing at everyone entering the house.”
“Jason knock it off.” Y/n huffed, Dick self consciously pulled his vested.
The group had moved to the ballroom mintues ago and more people from Wayne Enterprises and some League members had arrived. Jason stretched standing from the table,” Okay this Skywalker needs food.”
Stephanie and Cass followed dress as the Pink and Yellow Power Rangers.
Selina entered the room dressed as Marylin Monroe and waved,”Why do glum kittens, your parents go trick or treat without you?”
Fred or Tim shook his head,” They’re not here yet, it’s just boring right now.”
Bernard played with the green scarf on his Daphne shirt.
She sighed and saw a several costumed adults and looked back the way she came. “Well looks like the Calvary just arrived. Have fun.” She slipped away into the now bigger crowd.
Members or Young Justice, Titans and Birds of Prey arrived in costumes and soon the kids mingled with their friends and went away from the table only living Y/n and Damian.
“You should ask Uncle Clark why he didn’t come.” She spoke up over the Monster Mash song.
“Tt, if he cared he would have came sister.” He spat.
She stood up from the table and turned to him, “He’s your best friend and he’s been through a lot. Maybe Halloween is just a lot for him, if you tell him how much it would mean to you to show up I’m sure he’d fly here in a heartbeat.”
Damian didn’t answer his sister but did glance across the room to Clark and Lois dressed as Frankinstein and the Bride who chatted with Diana,John and Wally dressed as a Fairy, Boxer and a Race Car Driver.
Damian grab his cup and pondered as he made his way to the refreshment table. He grabbed a few pieces of cheese and felt like his wished the night was over.
The music stopped as DJ announced the arrival of the hosts Bruce and Batmom entered the room dressed as Gomez and Mortica Adams. Once they thanked everyone for coming the party once again went into full swing and Damian slipped away into the gardens.
“Damian?” A voice called to him after what felt like a short while. Bruce sat next to him.
“Are you not having fun?”
He sighed,”Yes father the party is very good.”
Bruce was silent for a few moments and then let out his own deep sigh.”Your sister told me you miss Jon. You should call him, Clark told me the only reason he didn’t come was because he figured you wouldn’t want to participate.”
Damian turned to his father,”Really?”
Bruce smiled at his son and gave his shoulder a squeeze. “He’s your best friend, just call him.” After that Bruce returned inside and Damian remained seated.
He signed before looking at the ground.”Kent,I know listening…I think—I want you come to the party. It’s rather…dull.” He spoke barley in a whisper.
For a while it was just the distance sounds of Gotham noises and the booming sounds from the music inside and then a sudden gust of wind blew a few strands of hair.
“Hi Damian.” Damian’s gaze fell ontop the floating teen before him in full costume.
A grin painted his figured,”And what are you supposed to be Kent?”
“Uh Duh, I’m Danny Phantom.”
Damian laughed and Jon rolled his eyes.
“Come on I’m starving I heard Alfred has jalapeño poppers.” Damian joined Jon as they headed inside.
Y/n elbowed her brother and Jason spilled his punched on himself. He followed his sister’s gaze and they watch from a far.
Dick beamed as he got closer to them,”Aww Little D’s not lonely anymore.”
Jason rolled his eyes. “I don’t know how he can be, you Mother Hen him to death every two seconds.”
Dick shoved Jason and the rushed of his punched spilled on his costume. Dick nervously sprinted away with Jason bolting after him.
“Imbeciles.” Y/n sighed eating a eyeball cheese.

Allah calls Himself Al-Hakeem— The All-Wise, The Judicious— on 33 occasions in the Quran. Al-Hakeem is the One with ultimate wisdom, who did not create and legislate anything in vain. Al-Hakeem carries out His divine will with His perfect wisdom: He judges, decrees, inflicts, and relieves in the most rightful way, place, and time. He is  all-wise in His creating and perfecting, in His commanding, His sayings and actions!
The All-Wise, The Ultimate Ruler and Designer
Hakeem and Haakim come from the root haa-kaaf-meem, which carries three main meanings. The first meaning is to restrict or prevent something or someone. The second main meaning of this root is that of being wise and of knowing the true nature of things. The third is to pass judgement, to decide and put matters in correct places.
This root appears 210 times in the Quran in 13 derived forms. Examples of these forms are yahkumu (will judge), hukman (wisdom, judgement), and al hikmah (the wisdom).
This attribute of Allah shows that He legislates rules to turn mankind from wrongdoing, all His rules are for our own benefit. Al-Hakeem does His work most accurately and perfectly, as He knows how to calculate, measure and design in perfection.
Al-Hakeem Himself says: O Musa! Verily, it is I, Allah, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise. [Quran, 27:9] … Alif Lam Ra: A Book, the Verses thereof are perfected and then elaborated from the Him, Who is All Wise, Well-Acquainted (with all things) [Quran, 11: 1] Falsehood cannot come to it (the Quran) from before it or behind it; (it is) sent down by the All Wise One, the One Worthy of all Praise. [Quran, 41:42]
Knowledge, Power and Wisdom

‘Ilm (knowledge) and hikmah (wisdom) are two separate attributes which have to be linked together for success. Of what benefit is knowledge if you do not use it with wisdom? And how far do you get if you are wise in your ways, but you do not have knowledge? Allah’s name Al-Hakeem is often paired with Al-‘Aleem (The All-Knowing). The other most often repeated couple is Al-Hakeem with Al-‘Azeez (The Most-Powerful). This shows us that Allah ‘azza wajal uses both His knowledge and power in the wisest way to guide us through the life of this world, testing us with tailor-made trials, challenges and opportunities for us to proof our faith in Al-Hakeem.
How Can We Live By This Name?
1.      Trust in Al-Hakeem. If Al-Hakeem decides you should lose or gain something, there is a wisdom behind it. If something happens that displeases you it would be unwise to be unhappy with Al-Hakeem. You lost money, or even a person, or didn’t get what you so badly wanted? How many times in life have you looked back and seen the wisdom behind things that happened to you, things which may have greatly saddened you at the time? Wisdom is to trust the wisdom of Al-Hakeem at all times, no matter how hard it may seem! And Allah is All-Knowing, All Wise. [Quran, 60:10]
2.      Stick to the laws of Al-Hakeem. All the rules of Al-Hakeem (the sharee’ah) are set to reform the creation and not to cause hardship in life. In other words; His rules are best for you. Al-Hakeem made you and thus knows exactly what you need to succeed. If we don’t understand His rulings, we should not blame the rules, but our own understanding. So focus and reflect and know that the ruling only belongs to Al-Hakeem and ask Him to make you of those who value His laws above man-made laws in your daily life.
3. Reflect on the perfection of Al-Hakeem’s work. Remind yourself of Al-Hakeem seeing His wisdom reflected in His creation. The oxygen, the salt levels in your blood are all perfectly measured, if they would be slightly different you would die instantly. Take the time to look around you (and at yourself) and realize the beautiful and perfect wisdom of Al-Hakeem. It is He Who made everything that He has created perfect, and began the creation of man from clay. [Quran, 32:7]
4.      Make the Book of Al-Hakeem your companion. The attribute of hikmah is one you should strive for too. Derive your wisdom from your knowledge of Allah. Where can we find this knowledge? In the Quran and the Sunnah. So make the Quran your close companion, by reciting it, understanding it and acting upon it. Ya Seen. By the Quran, “Al-Hakeem” (i.e. full of wisdom) [Quran, 36: 1] The more you follow the commands of the All-Wise, the wiser you will become!
5 . Have hikmah in your dealings.
Use your blessings with wisdom by using them to gain the pleasure of Al-Hakeem. How many of have wealth but waste it? How many of us have health, but we misuse it? Being wise is using your intelligence, wealth, time, and skills to please Al-Hakeem. The same goes for calling other people to Al-Hakeem— do so with hikmah!

6. Ask Al-Hakeem for understanding.
Of all things you daily ask of Allah, make sure you keep asking Him for understanding of the deen of Islam.
Al-Hakeem says: And whosoever is granted wisdom is indeed granted abundant good. [Quran, 2:269]

Wallahu ta’alaa ‘alem.

O Allah, Al-Hakeem, we know that You are the One who possesses ultimate wisdom. Make us of those who are content with Your decisions. Adorn us with wisdom in dealing with ourselves and others and with spreading Your message. Make us reflect on Your wisdom by looking at creation. Grant us understanding of Your book and guidelines and actions which reflect this understanding. Ameen!

Hi Sam, I finally bought and read Six H. and it has brought me so much joy! It was one of those stories that I tried to pace myself reading because I knew I would miss it when I was done (and I do!). Now, if it isn't too cheeky to ask the author of all people, I wanted to ask if you could think of any 'read alikes'? I was reminded in the best way of Ocean at the End of the Lane, which is one of my favorites! Eery but not scary, magic that does not need to be explained...? But mostly: THANK YOU!!
I'm so glad you enjoyed Six Harvests! As much as I've been enjoying the hell out of writing the Shivadh novels, Six Harvests is probably the book I'm most proud of -- I think it really was a kind of "master piece" in the traditional sense of demonstrating mastery of a craft. At least, in relation to my own work; I don't think I'm like, Master Of All Writing, but I feel that I've developed a mastery relative to where I began that I'm very proud of.
As for read-alikes...hm, that's a difficult one actually. I don't know if it qualifies as "not scary" but the aesthetic of Six Harvests was absolutely informed by Carnivale, the television show -- not for the faint of heart but extremely enjoyable if you like your historical drama with a heavy side of the supernatural (it is quite violent and some aspects haven’t aged wonderfully, but it’s still a great watch). Also if you haven't read my book Nameless, it's very much in the same vein as Six Harvests. And kind of fun to compare the two I think, because Nameless was the first novel I wrote and aside from the romances, Six Harvests is my latest.
I think if you enjoyed the "magic that doesn't need explanation" and eerie without scary, I would look around in general at magical realism. It often gets confused with urban fantasy, but magical realism’s essence is that there are magical or surrealistic aspects to the story that aren’t systemically explained, and generally advance the reader’s understanding of the story without always directly impacting the plot. I love magical realism as a genre and there's so much good writing in it, plus it was originated by latine writers so the majority of it is by nonwhite, often non-American authors so it's very horizon-broadening for a lot of readers.
I raided my old book reading log for some magical realism, so I did come up with some authors and titles! Julio Cortázar's short stories are fantastic and I really enjoyed Blow Up and Other Stories. A very famous one is Like Water For Chocolate by Laura Esquivel, and Chocolat by Joanne Harris is a fun book and a GREAT movie. I don't recall much about them but I recall very much enjoying The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafón and Isabel Allende's The House Of The Spirits. G Willow Wilson's Alif The Unseen is very very intense, but also extremely compelling and "readable", like it's a big book but it reads fast. Gabriel Garcia Marquez is most well known for 100 Years of Solitude but I haven't read that one; I did very much like his Strange Pilgrims.
Hopefully amongst those will be many things you enjoy! Readers, feel free to chime in with your own recommendations either for magical realism or for comps to Six Harvests in comments or reblogs. Good luck and happy reading! :)

MC: Chill, Kat. Maybe it’s just flirting.
②.
MC: You're right. I'm sorry.
MC: You and Alfie are in a couple, and I should have respected that.
MC: I get that what we did could have seemed over the line from your point of view.
③.
MC: If you want to go there, Kat, I’ll go there.
MC: And you don't give a crap about girl-code.
MC: You're acting all aggy about me having a chat with Alfie.
MC: But everyone knows you'd bin him, as soon as, for a bit of Finn.
KAT: You're a sneak!
MC: Are you serious?
MC: In the couples quiz, you said we all need to get to know each other!
{If kissed Alfie E02}
KAT: That doesn't mean kissing him for everyone to see!
{If smiled at Alfie E02}
KAT: That doesn't mean flirting with him for everyone to see!
{If hugged Alfie E02}
KAT: That doesn't mean hugging him for everyone to see!
Alfie slides between you and Kat.
ALFIE: It's calm, it's calm.
ALFIE: Kat, I owe you an explanation. Can we have a chat?
KAT: To be continued then.
ALFIE: Come on, Kat. Let's have a private chat. We'll sort this between us.
Kat reluctantly allows Alfie to escort her to the swing. You exhale. Dana hurries over to you.
DANA: Oh my days of the week! That chat was A LOT.
DANA: Do you think Kat will let it go now she's said her piece?
CHOICE
①. Yeah, it’ll be chill
②. I’m worried she won’t
③. No, but bring it on
①.
MC: I think it’ll blow over.
MC: She’s let it out. I bet she calms down now.
②.
MC: I doubt she’ll drop it, but I wish she would!
MC: Not everyone wants a lot of drama.
③.
MC: No way is she over this. But, bring it on, Kat!
MC: If she’s out to cause drama, I won’t back down.
DANA: She was the one out of line.
{If flirt who I want}
MC: Exactly! I’m entitled to flirt.
{If said sorry}
MC: Even so, I apologised. That’s all I can do.
{If flash claws}
MC: Exactly! And I don’t put up with that.
You see Kat glaring at you from across the garden.
——————————————————————————————
The afternoon sun is hot and heavy. You're on the day beds with Eddie and Finn.
EDDIE: That confrontation with you and Kat was intense!
FINN: Kat was breathing fire, so she was.
He flaps his arms and cries like a dragon. You laugh.
FINN: Day one and the drama is here!
EDDIE: [MC], how are you feeling after that?
CHOICE
①. Whatever. I'm not rattled
②. I feel bad. I hate drama
③. I'm feeling good. No regrets
①.
MC: I’m not bothered.
MC: Kat's all bark, no bite.
MC: She can say what she wants. I’m not gonna let it bother me.
②.
MC: Ugh. I feel kinda bad.
FINN: Why? Kat was the one kicking off.
MC: Yeah, but I hate drama.
MC: I hope this blows over fast.
③.
MC: I’m great! I know I did nothing wrong.
MC: It’s not against the rules to flirt in the villa.
MC: So what if Alfie and I were flirting in front of everyone?
MC: Would she rather we did it behind her back?
FINN: You're a little drama-magnet, aren't you?
MC: Hey! Maybe I think it's healthy to be open and upfront.
MC: If someone has a problem with me, I want to know.
MC: Hey! Maybe I think it's healthy to be open and upfront.
MC: If someone has a problem with me, I want to know.
Finn chuckles.
FINN: No way Kat's gonna let this go.
FINN: I can hear the fireworks already.
He cups his ear and pretends to listen.
EDDIE: Don't stoke the flames, bro.
FINN: Talking of stoking flames…
{If don't remember date E02}
FINN: [MC], you said in the quiz you didn't remember that hot air balloon Suresh took you on.
FINN: Loved seeing you winding him up.
MC: Are you stirring the pot, Finn?
Finn holds up his hands, innocently. But he's smiling.
MC: I see you smiling, Finn.
FINN: A bit of drama keeps life interesting.
{If love adventure dates E02}
FINN: I think you get it, [MC]. You said in the quiz, you're into adventurous dates.
MC: Dates, yeah. Don't know if that always applies to life in general.
EDDIE: There's a difference between adventure and drama.
EDDIE: Gotta keep it chill, keep it calm.
{If prefer chilled dates E02}
EDDIE: [MC], you said in the quiz that you like chilled dates.
EDDIE: Chill is my goal in dates and life.
FINN: Eddie, I can't picture you having a barney.
EDDIE: That's because you've never seen me after losing a rugby match.
They laugh.
MC: Boys and sport.
You roll your eyes.
FINN: Don't hate on sport.
FINN: Sport is one of the ways we let out our feelings.
He and Finn tackle each other in a bear hug.
You laugh. Finn pulls you into the bear hug and the three of you roll on the day bed, laughing loudly.
This draws the watchful eyes of Suresh. You notice him hanging about by the pool, pretending to not be looking in your direction.
FINN: Hey, [MC]!
Your attention is drawn back to Finn and Eddie. Finn stands on the day bed, flexing in ridiculous poses.
Eddie bench-presses pillows. He pretends to strain under their ‘weight'.
EDDIE: This doing it for you, [MC]?
You laugh, entertained by the boys' shenanigans.
FINN: Fancy a private chat with one of us manly specimens?
{If get to know the boys E02}
MC: Finn, we had a private chat on the terrace earlier.
FINN: But there’s so much more Finn to get to know.
{If turn the guys down E02}
FINN: You turned down my offer of a private chat earlier.
FINN: Don’t tell me you’re gonna pie me off again?
FINN: I promise Eddie won't cry when you pick me.
Eddie playfully jabs Finn in the ribs.
EDDIE: As if she'd pick a cocky bro like you.
You laugh but it’s interrupted by Kat calling across the garden from the kitchen.
KAT: Finn? Can you help me move this chair? I need your muscles.
Kat shoots you a mischievous look as Finn stands up.
FINN: I must go where I’m needed.
FINN: Lucky break for you, Eddie boy.
Finn grins and swaggers off to the kitchen to help Kat. You and Eddie are left on the day beds.
EDDIE: The mosquitos are out. I’ve got this great lemongrass oil that you rub on your skin to keep them away.
EDDIE: Shall we go upstairs and get it? I can help you rub it in.
CHOICE
①. Yes, please!
②. Nah, I’m good as is
①.
MC: I’d love that, thanks.
MC: You can do my back for me.
EDDIE: My pleasure.
EDDIE: Lead the way.
②.
MC: I’m happy chilling here and I already put some oil on… But we can chat here.
EDDIE: Wouldn’t you rather get to know each other somewhere we can talk a little more freely?
EDDIE: Away from ol' Hungry Eyes?
He points at Suresh over at the pool. Suresh is still pretending - badly - not to be watching you.
EDDIE: We haven’t had a proper chance to get to know each other yet.
EDDIE: You sure you don’t want to move someplace more private?
CHOICE
❶. You’re right. Let’s go!
❷. Nah, let’s go to the swing seat instead
❶.
MC: To upstairs!
EDDIE: After you.
He gestures for you to lead the way towards the villa.
❷.
MC: I don’t want to go all the way upstairs, but let's move to the swing seat.
MC: We’ll be able to talk more openly there, but it won’t look like we’re sneaking off to do anything too naughty.
MC: Maybe there’s been enough drama already.
Just then, you see Suresh approach Alfie and take him off for a private chat. You wonder what Suresh is up to.
{if chat with Eddie privately}—————————————————
You and Eddie recline next to each other on one of the beds.
MC: How are you finding villa life?
EDDIE: This might be my fave bit so far.
He slowly rubs lemongrass oil on the top of your back.
MC: Of the villa or of my back?
EDDIE: Both.
EDDIE: Thanks for having this chat with me.
MC: Of course. I want to get to know you better.
EDDIE: I’m an open book. Read me!
MC: OK, then. Tell me, in relationships, are you a player or a stayer?
EDDIE: Stayer, a million percent. I was with my last girlfriend for 3 years.
MC: And you never cheated?
EDDIE: I've never, ever cheated! That's not who I am.
MC: A good guy, huh?
EDDIE: I try to be. I love animals. I'm close with my family.
MC: So you're saying you're a catch?
EDDIE: Hopefully you think I’m boyfriend material?
CHOICE
①. You’re a dreamboat
②. Not in my opinion
③. I'm not sure yet
①.
MC: Sounds like you're a dream guy.
EDDIE: Are you saying I'm YOUR dream guy?
MC: Maybe. Although it’s still early days.
EDDIE: True, but you’re seeming pretty dreamy yourself so far.
②.
MC: Maybe I look for something else in a boyfriend?
Eddie pretends to have been stabbed in the heart.
EDDIE: No! You're ruining me.
MC: You'll get over it.
③.
MC: I can't tell yet.
MC: Like you say, this is only our first proper chat.
EDDIE: You'll just have to get to know me more then, won't you?
EDDIE: Whatever I am, at least I'm not like Suresh.
MC: Meaning?
EDDIE: He's a cheater. And he walks around the villa all cocky. Not my vibe.
CHOICE
①. Hey, don't slag off Suresh
②. You’re right about Suresh!
③. Let's change the topic
①.
MC: You don't know Suresh well enough to talk bad about him.
EDDIE: I know I don't trust a cheater.
MC: People are complicated.
EDDIE: Treating people right seems pretty simple to me.
②.
MC: You're so right. Suresh is way too cocky.
MC: He always was.
EDDIE: I can't picture you with someone like him.
③.
MC: Ugh, let's not talk about Suresh.
MC: I can't seem to get away from him in this villa.
EDDIE: Sorry! We defo don't have to talk about him.
MC: Thanks!
EDDIE: Let’s talk about something much more fun: me and you.
MC: You think there’s a potential ‘me and you’?
EDDIE: I have a feeling there could be.
MC: Time to turn the tables. I want to hear what you think of the girls.
EDDIE: You're all stunning, obviously.
EDDIE: You've certainly caught my eye.
CHOICE
①. Flirt back
②. Play it cool
①.
MC: Oh really?
EDDIE: What do you think about that?
MC: I can't imagine nicer eyes to be caught in.
EDDIE: Back at you. I can feel myself melting every time you look at me.
②.
MC: Thought you were cool?
EDDIE: Things heated up when you walked in.
Both of your eyes move to the bottle of lemongrass oil.
CHOICE
①. Offer to rub oil into his back
②. Hold back for now
①.
MC: Want me to return the favour?
EDDIE: If you’re happy to, I’m not complaining.
You spray the oil onto his toned back and gently rub it into his shoulders, feeling his muscles tense and relax as you do.
EDDIE: That feels amazing.
You work your way down his smooth back a little, rubbing in circular motions. You notice how the smell of the oil combines with his own fragrance.
He turns and smiles at you, attraction and affection in his eyes.
②.
You return Eddie’s smile but leave it at that, for now.
MC: You're just saying that as I'm sat here.
EDDIE: I'm not. You really have caught my eye.
MC: Who says I want your eyes – or any of you – on me?
EDDIE: I think you might.
You can't help smiling. Another boy in this villa is after you.
MC: How are you feeling about Dana? I thought I picked up a vibe between you two.
EDDIE: Maybe I was just trying to make you jealous?
MC: That wouldn’t be very nice of you.
MC: I thought you were Mr Nice Guy?
EDDIE: I am! I was just joking.
EDDIE: Luckily, what I lack in jokes, I make up for in honesty.
He gives you a beaming smile with his perfect teeth and gorgeous, sparkling eyes.
{if chat with Eddie on swing}—————————————————
You and Eddie sit on the swing. The other Islanders are in view but out of earshot.
Eddie plucks a flower from a vine on the wall and sticks it behind your ear.
MC: You're loving this, aren't you?
EDDIE: Being here with you? Yes.
MC: I meant being in the villa. You look like you're in your element.
EDDIE: I'm loving villa life. Beautiful place, beautiful girls, not much competition to speak of.
MC: Oh really? So what’s your read on the other boys?
EDDIE: Finn? He's a hunk, but he knows it. Head’s too big.
EDDIE: Alfie's fun… as a mate. He's got bants for days.
EDDIE: And Suresh? He's got a cool spy vibe going. But that's also his problem: too slick, too slippery.
MC: Sounds like you've got everyone figured out.
EDDIE: What? You don't agree?
CHOICE
①. I agree, a million percent
②. You're talking out of your arse
③. A girl never reveals her secrets
④. I guess I agree with some of that
①.
MC: I totally agree.
MC: You might come across as cocky, but you're not wrong about the boys.
EDDIE: Ya see?
He winks.
②.
MC: I think you're way off about the boys.
MC: You're selling them short. There's more to each of them than you think.
EDDIE: Oh really? Interesting.
③.
MC: Wouldn't you like to know?
MC: I'm not letting you in on what I think about the other boys.
EDDIE: Go on. I won't tell them.
MC: My lips are sealed.
④.
MC: I think you’re spot on about some of those things. But off the mark on some stuff too.
EDDIE: Enlighten me, please.
MC: I think I’ll let you figure it out for yourself.
②.
MC: You're just saying that because I'm sat here.
EDDIE: I'm not. You really have caught my eye.
MC: Who says I want your eyes – or any of you – on me?
EDDIE: I think you do.
EDDIE: You’re giving me a lot to think about, [MC].
MC: Like what?
EDDIE: Let’s just say it involves eggs and baskets. And where to put them.
Eddie gives you a playful wink and a chuckle. You can't help smiling. Another boy in the villa is competing for you.
——————————————————————————————
You enter the kitchen to grab a drink. And who's there? Suresh.
MC: Hi.
SURESH: Surprised to see you taking a break from riling me up.
MC: I've barely spoken to you tonight.
SURESH: Exactly. You've been flirting and chatting with all the boys in front of me.
MC: That's what people do in the villa.
SURESH: Except you're doing it to put me off.
SURESH: You're hoping I'll give up on you and move on to another girl.
MC: That's a big assumption.
SURESH: I know your games, babe.
CHOICE
①. I’m not playing games
②. My games are too good for you to spot
③. You don’t know who I am now
①.
MC: How dare you tell me I’m playing games?
MC: If anyone’s playing games, it’s you.
SURESH: That doesn’t sound like me.
②.
MC: Suresh, if I were playing games, you’d never even know.
MC: I’m on another whole level than you.
MC: I could play games around you all day long if I wanted to, and you’d never be the wiser.
SURESH: Now that’d be interesting.
③.
MC: Whoever you thought I was then isn’t who I am now. I’ve changed since our break-up.
SURESH: People don’t change. Not really.
MC: Well, then, I guess you’ll have to wait and see.
SURESH: Games or no games, my head won't be turned, no matter who walks through that door.
SURESH: I'm going to win you back.
{If could want Suresh back E02}
SURESH: I know you said I need to convince you, and I will.
{If don't want Suresh back E02}
SURESH: I know you said you don't want me back, but I'll change your mind.
{If not sure E02}
SURESH: I know you're not sure, but you will be.
SURESH: I’ve changed a lot since you last saw me… I’ll show you.
SURESH: I admit it: In the past, I didn’t treat you as well as you deserved.
SURESH: And I'm not claiming to have turned into an angel now….
SURESH: After all, angels are boring…
SURESH: But I am done cheating.
CHOICE
①. Maybe you’ve learned your lesson
②. I don't buy it, Suresh
①.
MC: I might believe you.
SURESH: Do you?
MC: I’m saying it’s possible you mean it when you say you're not a cheater anymore.
MC: Whether you can follow through is something else.
②.
MC: You can save your breath, ‘cos I'm not buying it.
SURESH: I'm serious.
MC: You can talk the talk, but so far, your actions don’t match what you’re saying.
SURESH: Don’t worry; I'll show you I'm serious.
SURESH: I'll give you some space to get your head sorted. That’s what a good guy would do, right?
MC: Are you saying you’re a good guy now?
Suresh gives you a mysterious smile as he hovers closer to you…
SURESH: Fair. I'll never be good, but that's what turns you on about me.
CHOICE
①. Don’t tell me what I think!
②. I like nice guys
③. Maybe it does
①.
MC: Don’t assume you know my mind! Ugh, that’s so typical of you!
MC: You haven’t changed at all.
You turn to leave.
SURESH: Wait!
SURESH: Hear me out.
②.
MC: What turns me on is a nice boy.
MC: ‘Good’ is what I’m into.
MC: Not that you’d understand that.
SURESH: Actually, I do. I get it now.
③.
MC: Maybe I like the bad boy thing…
MC: Maybe I just don’t like it on YOU anymore?
MC: Or maybe I like a bad boy who’s actually a good guy deep down.
SURESH: Maybe that’s who I am now.
SURESH: I’m different now.
SURESH: Back then, I’d do anything – say anything – to get in your bed.
MC: Now you’ve gotten back into my bed ‘cos we’re a couple. No change there.
SURESH: That’s where you’re wrong.
SURESH: I’m stepping back and giving you the bed.
MC: What?
SURESH: I’ll sleep on the day beds tonight.
MC: Why would you do that?
SURESH: Got to give you a chance to miss me.
SURESH: But seriously. I’ll give you all the space you need. I’m ready to play the long game.
SURESH: Sweet dreams.
He swaggers away with a sexy smirk.
You watch him as he walks out into the garden, sipping gently on his drink.
——————————————————————————————
You and the other girls are in the dressing room, removing the day's make-up. Obvious tension in the air between you and Kat.
MC: Intense day, huh?
KAT: That's one word for it.
DANA: Today was bonkers-tonkers! But I'm having a blast.
DANA: I'm obsessed with those little birdies that keep drinking from the pool!
DANA: Worst case scenario and I don't find love in here? At least I'll have seen some sick wildlife.
DANA: I'll be the girl who leaves the villa with a nightingale!
The mood lightens in the room.
DANA: Girls, what'd you say to a 'no cracking on' pact?
KAT: Babe, cracking on is the whole reason I'm here.
DANA: Just for tonight, I mean.
Kat raises an eyebrow.
DANA: As a way to keep the drama at bay on the first night. Ya know?
KAT: OK, then. I'm all about girl-code.
She shoots you a look.
DANA: You down, [MC]?
CHOICE
①. Yes girl-code! I'm down with the pact
②. Nah, I reserve my right to crack on!
①.
MC: Absolutely.
MC: I'm so down with this pact. Great idea!
MC: The Suresh situation has caused enough drama for one day.
KAT: Let's not forget the Alfie situ, too.
DANA: Yay! Pact!
②.
MC: No cracking on sounds like no fun.
MC: I'm all for girl-code, but this is Love Island, not friend island.
DANA: I just thought maybe after the whole Suresh situ this afternoon, we'd want a drama-free night?
MC: Sometimes you need to step on toes to find love.
MC: Sorry, girls. I vote no on the pact.
DANA: Fair; you do you, girl. But Kat and I are committed to the pact.
DANA: Right, Kat?
KAT: 'No cracking on' doesn't mean no looking.
She smiles mischievously.
KAT: Sharing a bedroom full of hot guys is my kind of paradise.
You and Dana exchange a nervous glance. Kat catches you.
KAT: Don't get moody, babes.
KAT: The pact ain't stopping me from being the hottest girl in the bedroom.
KAT: I've got a banging outfit for tonight.
DANA: Me too. The pact doesn’t mean I’m not going all out to make an impression on the first night.
DANA: Gonna make sure I’m looking and feeling lush!
KAT: Talking a strong game, Dana. Wonder whether {0} will go big or go home?
DANA: I’ve got an idea. Try on this gorgeous bedroom outfit, {0}.
KAT: That's a saucy little outfit.
KAT: Guess you're trying to compete with me.
DANA: Woooooooooo, girl! You look hot!
DANA: I can't get enough.
DANA: So, are you gonna go with that or something else?
CHOICE
①. Yes, I’m wearing this!
②. I’m going to see what else I’ve got
③. Maybe I’ll stick with what I was wearing
① & ②.
You pose confidently in front of the mirror.
MC: I love it.
DANA: You are looking absolutely fire!
KAT: Yep, even I can’t argue with that!
③.
MC: I can just change back…
MC: Is it too blah?
DANA: OK, real talk.
DANA: You know I think you’re hot as heck, but
DANA: You’re selling yourself short in that.
DANA: Plus, the boys might not get your whole… uhrmmm… effortless chic thing.
KAT: Your whole grandma thing, more like.
You study yourself in the mirror. Maybe you do look a little basic.
DANA: If you're not feeling those PJs, change into something else.
CHOICE
❶. You’ve swayed me. I’m going for this fancy outfit!
❷. I’m going to see what else I’ve got
❸. I’m sticking with my original look
❶ & ❷.
DANA: So, you’ve settled on the saucy outfit anyway. Can’t blame you.
KAT: Yeah, you look stunning. I’m not sure I’d have been able to pick anything else.
❸.
MC: I look nice in this.
DANA: You do you, [MC].
KAT: Sometimes it helps to be a little bit more than nice though, babe.
MC: Actually, I do look absolutely stunning in this!
DANA: You sure do.
KAT: I’ve got to give it to you. You look pretty good. Almost as good as me.
DANA: No need to be sour, Kat.
DANA: You look great in that outfit!
KAT: Yeah, it’s a good choice too, you look hot as.
DANA: So, you’re sticking with the basics. Fair enough.
KAT: Well, I guess you’ll be comfortable at least.
Kat and Dana strut out of the dressing room.
You check yourself out in the mirror for a moment before heading towards the bedroom.
As you're stepping out of the dressing room, Alfie catches you.
ALFIE: Can we have a quick chat?
MC: Sure. What's up?
ALFIE: I've been feeling low-key awks about the Kat drama earlier.
MC: Not your fault. Kat is…
ALFIE: She's fiery.
You chuckle.
MC: She’s not shy, that’s for sure.
ALFIE: She knows her mind and doesn't take any crap. I like that.
MC: Oh. Ok.
ALFIE: It's all good.
ALFIE: Listen, I wanted to say I hope that the drama with Kat hasn't jeopardised our friendship.
MC: So we're just friends?
ALFIE: Of course not 'just friends'.
{If kissed Alfie E02}
ALFIE: Who could forget our near-kiss earlier?
MC: Not me. The sparks were flying.
ALFIE: I think I got an electric shock.
{If smiled at Alfie E02}
ALFIE: How could I forget that steamy smile you gave me at the bean bags?
MC: Glad you didn’t forget about it.
ALFIE: A man could never forget getting lost in your beautiful eyes.
{If hugged Alfie E02}
ALFIE: I haven’t forgotten that loooooong hug we had on the bean bags.
MC: Glad I left an impression on you.
{If kissed Alfie's neck while hugging E02}
ALFIE: And don’t think that sexy little neck kiss escaped my notice either.
ALFIE: There's definitely chemistry. Chemistry that could maybe synthesise –
ALFIE: Synthesise? That’s a chemistry word, right? I’m counting it as a pun.
ALFIE: Anyway, we’ve got chemistry that could develop into a romantic connection. I think.
MC: You think? You don't sound too sure.
Alfie shrugs.
ALFIE: Early days, innit? But obviously I'll be sharing a bed with Kat tonight.
ALFIE: But nothing is set in stone yet, ya know?
ALFIE: It's only the first day and I'm not putting all my eggs in any one basket yet.
ALFIE: People in here are still just starting to show their true colours. Like your ex…
MC: I saw he pulled you for a chat earlier.
ALFIE: I like to chat to everyone. See who's who. Social butterfly, innit?
MC: Sure. But it looked like a kinda deep conversation you had with Suresh.
ALFIE: We had a solid chat, yeah.
CHOICE
①. Any goss?
②. Don't trust him
③. I don’t want to pry
①.
MC: Come on, spill the tea
ALFIE: It was just a casual chat.
MC: Why are you so interested in talking to Suresh all of a sudden?
ALFIE: Why is it a problem if I am?
MC: It could be if you're digging for dirt on me.
ALFIE: Whoa, who said anything about digging for dirt?
MC: So you’re saying I didn’t come up?
ALFIE: Well…
②.
MC: You know you can't believe everything Suresh says, right?
ALFIE: Why not?
MC: He's a cheater. Cheaters can't be trusted. Take it from me.
ALFIE: Don't worry. I took anything he said about you with a pinch of salt.
③.
MC: It’s none of my business what you talked about.
MC: I’m not assuming you guys talked about me.
ALFIE: We talked about a bunch of stuff. It wasn’t just about you.
MC: So you and Suresh DID talk about me!
Alfie hesitates.
ALFIE: Yeah, Suresh told me some stuff. Why?
CHOICE
①. None of my business
②. Is Suresh turning you against me?
③. I care about your opinion, not Suresh’s
①.
MC: Whatever. You boys are entitled to your private chats.
MC: It’s not my place to constantly censor people’s opinions of me.
ALFIE: I still think you're a top girl. You've got the bants, the looks, the personality.
ALFIE: But there's still loads we don't know about each other yet.
②.
MC: He better not be feeding you lies about me.
ALFIE: You don't know what he said about you.
MC: I know there are two sides to every story. Suresh could be biased when it comes to our past.
MC: He has no right to try to sabotage whatever connections I might be building here in the villa…
③.
MC: I’m not bothered by what Suresh thinks about me. I care what you think about me.
MC: Suresh is going to say what he feels. But remember he’s my ex.
MC: My past is my past. Anything you've heard, I hope it hasn't ruined any potential here and now.
ALFIE: Don't worry. I form my own opinions on people.
ALFIE: You and me, we've got a connection, for sure.
{If wearing gem outfit}
ALFIE: And you’re looking incredible in that outfit, my days.
ALFIE: But like I said, It's early days.
ALFIE: Who knows what will happen?
{If chose Alfie E01}
ALFIE: Sure, you originally chose to couple with me, but things change fast in here.
{If chose Eddie E01}
ALFIE: Sure, you originally chose to couple with Eddie, but things change fast in here.
{If chose Suresh E01}
ALFIE: Sure, you originally chose to couple with Suresh, but things change fast in here.
ALFIE: A day is like a week in the villa.
ALFIE: We're still all figuring each other out. Don’t you think?
CHOICE
①. Absolutely! Same page
②. I’m neutral
③. I’ve figured out I’m into you
①.
MC: Definitely agree! We’re still the getting-to-know-everyone phase.
MC: In the meantime, it’s good we keep things light and easy.
MC: After all, tomorrow’s a new day.
②.
MC: I want everyone to be open-minded and not write people off too fast.
MC: Do you and I have a clean slate moving forward?
ALFIE: I hope so!
③.
MC: I already know I’m into you.
MC: I know what I like.
MC: If you’re not completely sold on me yet, I’ll just have to get grafting tomorrow, won’t I?
ALFIE: I look forward to it.
ALFIE: Excited to see what’s in store for us in the morning!
——————————————————————————————
You enter the iconic villa bedroom and cosy up in bed, alone. Suresh is outside on the day beds, ‘giving you space’.
You look around the room at the other couples snuggled up in bed together: Kat and Alfie, Dana and Eddie.
Finn stops by the foot of your bed.
FINN: You alright in that big bed all by yourself?
CHOICE
①. Heck yes! Extra space!
②. My mind is racing. I can’t relax
③. Actually, it's kinda lonely without a hot boy in here
①.
MC: I'm loving all this room.
You stretch out, luxuriantly.
FINN: Bet you wish I was taking up some of that room.
MC: Sounds like that’s YOUR wish, Finn…
MC: I'm enjoying having the bed to myself.
②.
MC: Ugh, no. I just can't turn off my brain and get comfy.
FINN: Would be a lot comfier with me in there with you.
MC: If you’re trying to help, thanks…
MC: But I just can't relax.
MC: My brain is whirling.
Finn perches on the edge of the bed.
FINN: Worried about the Alfie/Suresh situation?
MC: I'm not sure where I stand with either of them.
FINN: Try to sleep. Save sorting it for the morning.
③.
MC: All I’m missing is a sexy boy beside me.
FINN: Sounds like you need some company.
MC: Who says I was talking about you?
FINN: Of course you were. I'm VERY good company.
MC: I'm sure you are…
MC: But we're not a couple.
FINN: Yet.
He winks.
Finn wanders off toward his own bed, but continues chatting away to the whole room.
FINN: Don't worry, ladies. I won't be going to bed on my lonesome after tomorrow.
CHOICE
①. I'd love to get in his bed
②. I wish he’d cut the cockiness and let us sleep
①.
You lean across to the neighbouring bed and whisper to Dana.
MC: Imagine what it'd be like to curl up next to Finn?
MC: His shredded, tatted arms spooning you?
You shiver with excitement. Dana giggles.
DANA: That could be you in 24 hours, if he chooses you to couple up with tomorrow.
②.
You lean across to the neighbouring bed and whisper to Dana.
MC: I could use a break from Finn's constant cockiness.
MC: Ugh, I’m trying to sleep.
DANA: Like, we get it, Finn. You're hot and single.
MC: My brain is fried from all the drama today. I just want to sleep and wake up clear-headed tomorrow.
The bedroom lights go out and you settle in for sleep. But some rustling and whispering makes you open your eyes.
You look to your side and you can just make out Alfie and Kat in the next bed. A few tell-tale giggles suggest something more than just snuggling is going on.
KAT: Oh, Alfie.
ALFIE: You’re naughty.
You roll over. In the bed on your other side, you see the shadows of Dana and Eddie. They're spooning!
But Eddie soon nods off. A full day of flexing his pecs must have left him exhausted. He starts snoring, loud enough to drive Dana to the very edge of their bed.
You're distracted by more giggles rising from Kat and Alfie's bed.
Alfie and Kat are completely under the duvet. You see Kat's outstretched arm drop a piece of her nightwear to the floor. You can't be sure exactly what's happening, but it certainly seems like she's abandoned the no-cracking-on code.
CHOICE
①. Hide your head under a pillow
②. Get Dana's attention
③. Cough loudly
①.
You shove your head under your pillow. You don't want to see or hear any more.
②.
You roll over onto your other side. Psstt! You softly get Dana's attention.
When she blinks open an eye, you lean over and whisper.
MC: Are you seeing this?!
You nod toward Alfie and Kat's bed.
Dana sits up, looks over, and whispers back to you.
DANA: Is she breaking the pact already?!
You shrug.
Dana throws a balled-up pair of socks at Alfie and Kat's bed. You giggle.
Dana hisses at Alfie and Kat's duvet.
DANA: Oi! What happened to the pact, Kat?
Kat pops her head over the duvet, shoots you a grin, and then disappears back under it. Dana turns to you.
DANA: We're definitely grilling her about this tomorrow!
③.
You cough, loudly and on purpose. Alfie and Kat's giggles stop for a second.
But as soon as you shut your eyes, the giggles start back up again. You sigh and bury your head in your pillow.
Dana sneaks over to your bed and whispers.
DANA: I have to tell you! I can't sleep on it.
MC: What?
DANA: Earlier, Alfie told me that Suresh was hinting that your flirty behaviour with Alfie was just games.
DANA: Just a way to make Suresh jealous.
Before you can react to this revelation, Suresh walks into the room to get some insect repellent. You and Dana instantly stop talking.
Suresh looks over at you. There's a moment of tension. You hold your breath.
Suresh gives you a smile.
SURESH: I know I said I’d give you space, but good guys say good-night, right?
SURESH: Sleep tight. See you in your dreams.
He winks and leaves for the day beds.
DANA: Seems Suresh wants to play some games after all.
DANA: Question is: What are you going to do about it, [MC]?
NARRATOR: Kat and Alfie have already had more under the sheets action than I’ve had all year.
NARRATOR: Just kidding. I went dressed as a ghost to a fancy dress party. It counts.
NARRATOR: But will Kat and Alfie’s coupling come to a premature Finn-ish tomorrow night?
NARRATOR: Or will our crafty bombshell couple up with [MC] instead?
NARRATOR: Find out next time on Love Island.

Surah Yusuf begins with Huroof e Muqatta’aat, Alif, Laam, and Raa. Nobody knows the meaning behind these letters except Allah. Ustad Nouman said that the story of Yusuf AS had many details; many people were involved, including his family, brothers, kan’yaan, and his journey. A vast amount of information from his life and his past.
But the Quran skipped a lot of information, and Allah shared only some details. Allah withholds some information, and the first thing he holds back is the meaning behind Alif Laam Raa.
And that is Allah’s way of saying that there are some things you need to know for guidance, and then there are things that serve no purpose.
Learning this forced me to think that I keep complaining that nobody knows about the events of my life, my past, and the circumstances I was in, which led me to choose a different path. If people around me knew all those things, they might have understood me better.
But maybe Allah withheld that information because nothing would have changed even if they found out.
Hence, these huroof taught me that not everything is for everyone. Not everyone needs to know your life's past or the complete details.
There are some things meant to be known by Allah alone. Not every piece of information is for everyone. So, we must find solace in the knowledge that Allah knows the ins and outs of our life; he reveals the information necessary for growth and guidance and withholds some that will provide us no benefit in this world, even if that means getting misjudged by people around us because they do not know our story. Because, in the end, if you have Allah by your side, you will come out victorious.

I used to loved bin roye but watching it now omg saba needed to run away from that family. mfs throwing her into another marriage after the misery she went through from her first one when she clearly just needed therapy was so painful to watch. and the day of her nikah when she had a breakdown after that stupid bitch made her come into his and her sister's bedroom??? nobody was questioning and concern about it??? wallahi I hate her family
this is the common thread through most farhat ishtiaq dramas lol.. she will put her female characters through the absolute ringer in the name of developing them into "strong" characters who can withstand anything including the depraved behavior of those around them. not that this isn't a common thread inherent to many pakistani dramas but the combination of intense psychological trauma and eyeroll-worthy melodrama that makes it hard to take any of the issues posited in her dramas seriously has made me really averse to her storytelling over the years. i can't stand humsafar, i can't stand diyar-e-dil, i can't stand yaqeen ka safar, jo bache hain sang samait lo sounds like a nightmare, etc. admittedly i do have fond memories of mata-e-jaan hain tu and haven't rewatched it to decide whether it still holds up, and i never got around to rehaai or udaari. so yknow, maybe there's hope. but for the most part her dramas indulge far too willingly in the "here is this woman i am going to subject to psychological torture and along the way she'll either fall in love with a man who can take care of all of her needs to begin with or he'll be a dickhead and when things really come to blows he'll magically reform and then he can take care of all of her needs" shtick. and the man always has a dark past he has to contend with or something! he broods! he angsts! it's mind-numbingly typical.
with bin roye specifically though i think the thing that pissed me off was the karmic plot structure. woman loves cousin, cousin marries her sister instead, woman wishes her sister dies, her sister does die, woman feels like shit about it so she decides to get married off to a stranger as punishment, she's miserable, cousin saves her from the marriage and marries her himself, woman is still in her self-hating phases so there's tension, they work it out, cousin falls for her, the end. like beeeeeeeeeee for real. there's some lines from the script that are truly gut-wrenching but at some point i simply could not sit through the "woman incites her own suffering bc she's too immature and brash" shit like it felt so ridiculously punishing. i'm a modern day umera ahmed hater now too but there's an iota more respect that she seems to have for her female characters and bc she doesn't normally pander to melodrama the "suffering" inflicted on her characters is usually of a quite pragmatic nature. it's still depressing as hell to watch and i don't like the outcome most of the time but there's at least some reality to what her characters go through (or at least there is in her older scripts. i'm not a fan of what she's put out post-alif and find it to be very thematically and structurally clunky) and the women aren't stronger because they've suffered. they're simply strong because they are, and they suffer bc of how they exist in society

hiiii! i really appreciate everything you do for the j/s fandom and i LOVE reading all your meta! i was wondering if you have an Ultimate Favourite j/s fic? or like a top Five Ultimate Favourite Forever Fics? thanks so much again for everything u do for us j/s obsessed people! <3
hello! thank you so much for your kind words, you are definitely giving me too much credit but i can absolutely give you my most beloved j/s recs <3
three immediately came to mind and they all have in common an incredible trajectory from friendship to romance imo, like the platonic foundations are laid and developed gorgeously. they also have in common a messy james and an intense friendship that is also jagged and spiky in places and i love the unconditionality of the messiness. i kept putting off trying to choose another two, and i will keep doing that for infinity, so here are three for now that i love.
i also made a reclist in 2016 which needs updating because i've read some gorgeous works just this year alone but all of the ones i've marked as formative still stand. apologies for any dead links and also just the weird way i spoke online when i was 20(!)
pioneers by inveracities
I feel like this fic needs no introduction but that's because I've revisited it so much over the years that I just assume most j/s people have also read it. at the time i was very anti reading in-progress fics because of my own impatience but this was soooo worth it. the characterisation just instantly gripped me - it takes a great deep dive into james' psyche, i think that the narration is super clever here, the gap between what james knows and doesn't know, what is said and unsaid. his voice is really strong in this and it really gets the complexity of how the journey from friends to lovers isn't a seamless transition, even though everything is there, but when it matters there's no question of loyalty or love. somehow toxic and also lowkey fluffy at the same time? chef's kiss.
rainbirds by inaspic
this was only published this year but contender for my favourite ever j/s fic??? it just scratches so many of my niche itches and it accomplishes so much in like 10k words. it's kitchen sink, it's got messy james which is underwritten imo (but in all of these fics, go figure), i love james as someone who fucks up and makes mistakes but who tries to be better. i love sirius as james' stability. i LOVE the way that music is an intrinsic part of this fic and the way james and sirius bond, the way james processes alife that he feels out of step with. usually i find it hard to relate to music as a written experience because it feels almost too intimate to replicate but it adds so much hereand it helps that it is music that i LOVE. three of the artists in this fic are in my spotify wrapped top 5 sooo was it written just for me? maybe. i left a comment on this fic so read that for all the things i love about this. also we need more 90s james/sirius
just know by tabbycat
another one that looks at the thin, blurred lines between love and friendship and how they're navigated. i love a james love confession, he's a romantic and i feel like his position of stability for his friends sometimes means that his passion (good and bad) maybe gets overlooked or underwritten. the pacing of this is incredible, sirius' reticence and resolve are written so well and the way that things pass unsaid, or awkwardly said but perfectly understood, between james and sirius signals that strong, underlying bond despite friction on the surface.
hope you enjoy! if you've read them already, they hold up so good on a reread <3

Listen - I believe in the capacity of people to change. So I don't want to old a go in his 30s to tweets he made over 10 years ago...BUT...I feel if he ever became ashamed of these types of statements he could have deleted them? Like when I was a teen and in my early 20s I said some stupid shit. It was a different time (thankfully before social media) and I was stupid as hell and had low self esteem and just wanted people to like me and jumping on every bandwagon imaginable. I came to my senses when I went out into the real world and got exposed to people and just lived alife. But I still let people know I said stupid shit like that so I can then explain why that was wrong and what I have learned. I just didn't forget about it and shrug my shoulders, ya know? What I am trying to say, is that I will never understand why in this day and age, with everything we know about the internet, why people don't delete their old embarrassing tweets if they in fact don't believe what they were saying anymore. They wait till they are exposed, then apologize and claim that is not who they are anymore.
And to add to that - we all say stupid shit when we are young. Yes, even the best of us. The stupid shit I said was not racist or bigoted or anything like that. It was just early 2000's uneducated view of feminism and being told being a feminist meant you hated men and actually believing that. But I feel like I never had to be told referring to someone by the R word was bad, or fatshaming people was bad, or calling other people ugly and judging them based solely on their looks was wrong. Like, if you are raised right, that should be hard wired into your brain. Treat people with respect is what I always thought was the Christian way. Am I out of line on that? If he really has changed he will delete this shit and apologize. And not one of those fake ass apologies. But if he is already indoctrinated into the way of Talor, there will just be silence. I think in general he probably is what American's consider a "nice" guy. But those are a dime a dozen. Just met one myself. Sweet as hell. I was falling hard. Luckily fate intervened and I was able to find out he had been accused of rape in college. Just your average, American, "nice" guy, referring to his accuser as a damaged slut who was out to get him when I confronted him about it. Wash, rinse, repeat. I have had my fill of "nice" guys. Probably will die alone and at this rate, I am fine with that.
Sorry, hella long. But I wanted to get my thoughts out there. People can change and should be allowed to grow. But they need to show that change before forgiveness can happen. I don't see that happening most of the time. And this just looks like another case of the all American boy who is a red flag but spray-painted himself green to cover it up.
I just like…. This man wasn’t a child, he was 22(?) at the time and in the public eye. I get maybe the r slur wasn’t as universally known to be bigoted as it is now, but fat shaming (solely in relation to women) was bad always. And I think that fans being like ‘he’s ken! He’s perfect!’ automatically was weird as hell considering he was shady from the start. And I get the whole ‘it was 10 years ago people change’ and of course they do but like… he called women breeders recently… so it seems some of the mindsets are still there

Ameen!

jannat se aagay i'm on the fence about. i feel like umera ahmed dramas are always hit or miss with me these days and the more i rewatch some of them the more it feels like there's a recurring theme of women being made to feel they're ungrateful to god for reacting to hardships created by societal misogyny. which obv is not surprising and is in fact something highly relevant to the experiences of women in our society, but ig i'm kind of tired of it too and want to see a situation where a woman doesn't have to sacrifice her own happiness for the sake of being patient with others. that might be why i enjoyed alif more in comparison, bc it was less about women humbling themselves for the sake of a man and more about people in general humbling themselves before god. and potentially it seems jannat se aagay may go in that direction as well so i'm not losing too much hope. but then there's also the fact that umera's last drama was hum kahaan kay sachay thay and while that had a good message at the core i feel like the execution was pretty juvenile and hard to take seriously. so idk. my feelings are all over the place lololol
as for mein. truly love ayeza's styling as well! i'm kind of hesitant to invest in any more wahaj ali dramas both on account of oversaturation and also how he's sort of soured for me in the past year but zanjabeel asim did write pyaar ke sadqay and that was amazing so.. who knows! it's ary and taking up the mujhe pyaar hua tha timeslot does not spell great vibes to me but idk maybe i'm being too cynical. i feel like yunhi has risen the standard so high for me recently that i'm starting to be a lot pickier than i used to be! i never thought i'd see a drama possessive of that level of subtlety and romantic old school vibe again that you get from old ptv productions and i miss it dearly! i know yunhi has been a bit underrated compared to some of the bigger hits these days but i really want other script writers to take note that this is how they can do things rather than relying on all of the cheap drama and fanfare they normally promote. ig technically speaking neem has been following that train of thought as well, although i know people are irritated by mawra's preaching in it (i personally am not. i'm willing to let a little overidealized preaching slide if it means we get to see something refreshing and different on screen). but i hope we get more subtle dramas! or maybe i just need to look for them harder
UA is..very staunch in her views about the subject of religion and patriarchy. which, when mixed with her brilliance as a writer, turn out to be quite a sinister view because she manages to subtly and not-so-subtly sneak them in her stories and paint only them as the "right" views. she doesn't try to shake any foundations. what she says about both religion and the position of women is not favoring either the minorities or the women of current times who are trying their best to break free from the shackles of patriarchy. UA might appear to be on their side but she is not. she serves only her own purposes be it being pro-establishment through a show like Sinf e Ahan or pro-a particular sect/interpretation of the religion by the points she makes in her other dramas. which is why I like it when her stories steer clear from these particular agendas and instead focus on the more human emotions. her older shows like Daam, Malaal, Kankar, Doraha..they had far more empowered heroines and nuanced human emotions than her more popular works like Zindagi Gulzar Hai or Shehr-e-Zaat. I am seriously hoping that Jannat Say Aagay will take her back to those roots instead of this being yet another propaganda project for her which she has gotten too comfortable with nowadays. Ramsha's teaser for the show has risen my expectations although of course, I am still gonna remain cautious. filhaal toh mere giggles iss baat pe nahin ruk rahe ke I can so easily interpret the vibes of the teaser to being non-heterosexual so obviously and the fact that it's a UA show making me feel that way is just personally hella amusing to me xD the IRONYYY!
bruh when i say Wahaj didn't even register to me in his teaser for Mein while Ayeza's teaser got tattooed on my brain in the first watch only !!! there's no denying wahaj's brilliance but damn the over saturation of his work IS so clearly evident now. Zain feels like another version of Murtasim. yes yes Wahaj carries the rich guy look well, he has groomed his aura for the screen well, but like...ABHi tou issi mein dekha tha isse. and phir wohi? whereas Mubashira's aggression is completely at contrast with Ayeza's last character (Tara) so the excitement to watch what SHE has in store is so much for me. Zanjabeel Asim is a solid writer so that's sorted. Badar Mehmood is eh but kya hi kar sakte hain. i am not hyped pro max for the DRAMA itself per se but I am very intrigued by Ayeza's character and will mostly be watching for her (if I do end up following it regularly).
Yunhi..I guess I'll binge once its finished. I feel no urgency to watch that show. it's a comfort watch and I'll watch it comfortably. filhal toh Bilal ki shakal nahin bardasht horahi hai mujhse.

Might be a little late to this but anyways it just came into my mind that I promised y'all an "URDU LESSON" for those who need it ofc!
Let's get started with the first letter of urdu which is "ا", read as "Alif" and it's sound is more like "A".
Some letter's starting from alif are:
الزام
Ilzaam (Accusation)
الفاظ
Alfaaz (Words)
اثر
Asr (Effect)
As a practice, y'all can try writing five words starting from "Alif", if you can't think of any, try looking around yourself and name the things and reply to the post.

What's your favorite Alexis Hall book and why? Also - are you excited about Husband Material? I'm really curious to see what he's going to do since we reached a HFN ending in the last book. There is a lot of development that could happen (paticularly with Oliver *fingers crossed*) but I'm not sure what he will think needs development.
As of right now-- Probably Pansies. Pansies is a wild ride from start to finish. The main character, Alfie Bell is a late bloomer on the gay scene. He comes out later in his adult life and has trouble reconciling between his now gay self and the young little homophobe he used to be. To make matters blurse, he has a one night stand with one Fenimore James O'Donaghue... the boy he used to bully religiously for being gay.
Why it's my favorite: Fen and Alfie are... HOT messes. Them together?? an even bigger hot mess. each scene with them is full of knives (usually thrown by Fen, and for good reason) but. both of them are so full of hurt and hope it's always interesting to see which is going to prevail in the moment.
Sometimes it's hurt--- and you get glimpses into the damage that Alfie carries; His homophobia didn't sprout from the ether. It was very much instilled in him by his parents and his community... and sometimes you see Fen's damage; a clearly queer man in a very conservative and fearful North England community.
But then you also get to see their hope-- Alfie falls head over heels for the absolutely venomous and wild Fenimore, while Fen has to reconcile that despite being BULLIED by Alife, he still had a long standing crush on the jerk. Except?? Oh no he's just a damaged human being coated in toxic masculinity and when he's SOFT he's the best and oh no here comes those old feelings again. It's different from his usual works. It feels more like ALFAD than BM. and I absolutely love his like... richer?? exploring the trauma and deep pain kind of works. Husband Material: I've been waxing on this one for awhile. I don't think Alexis had ever planned on Husband Material being a thing when he wrote Boyfriend Material. A lot of his works are one offs; or if they become a serial they tend to shift focus on to other couples. (Winner Bake, Something Something, Spires, ect.) However, Alexis has also had several opportunities to continue on works after they were seemingly "complete"; which is in the case of Kate Kane and now Spires. He mentions that he's always got ideas floating around "Just in case" he gets the opportunity to do more work with one piece or another. So I feel like Husband Material is very much his "oh, this was popular??? I've got a just in case already drafted in my notes LET'S GO I can work on this BECAUSE A) I want to and B) financial incentive." So I have enough faith in him to wholeheartedly believe it's NOT GOING TO suck! So I have that to look forward to. As for the plot... Honestly, I don't think we're going to go back to Luc's perspective. His perspective in this relationship seemed to round itself off nicely in Boyfriend. So I think we might be going into a book from Oliver's perspective. Which?? I really hope for because that would be dope and what the series more or less needs. Luc got a lot of healing in the first novel, so now it's Oliver's turn! I also wouldn't mind a dual perspective on HM either, where we get a bit of Luc and a Bit of Oliver (similar to what he's done in A Lady and A Duke) just. so we can get to see Oliver tick a little more since we're all invested in Oliver's growth. The thing I want to see the most in Husband Materials is Luc's mom going "ah yes I have a SECOND GAY SON LET ME LOVE YOU IN MY WEIRD WAY."
because honestly Oliver deserves that so much. ALSO OH SHIT IT comes out on WEDNESDay holy smokes
