Everyone's on about Miguel beefing with a 15 yo, which sure it's funny, but y'all are letting the Spot, "I now declare this child that MY INVENTION inflicted this anomalous occurrence on, my lifelong nemesis", the ULTIMATE beef haver, to go unchecked.
#spireverse spoilers#across the spiderverse spoilers#you know at least miguel has the excuse that 15yo or not Miles's actions might cause TWO whole dimensions to collapse#assuming both pavitr's and miles' own dimension have a similar population to ours#thats SIXTEEN BILLION LIVES at stake babes#yah like no i'd also be going kooky crazy in his shoes#ofc his handling of Miles' situation wasn't good but that's not. precisely his job? Breaking the news shouldve fallen on Peter and Gwen#yanno. his actual friends? but they skirted around the subject too much so woops it falls on Miguel now#the most emotionally unsuited for this task guy possible. woopsies.#get ready for the most projection filled fight of your life kid cause it sure is cheaper quicker and easier than therapy!#I jest and the projection part is true but tbh i think too many people in the tags are interpreting Miguel being antagonistic to the rest-#as him having personal beef with children instead of him focusing (too much) on the bigger picture. like..isnt that his entire personality?#the 'fate of the multiverse' guy? cmon now.#the main issue is that miles Does Have To TRY- that's part of the canon event in the first place#trying and failing. if his plan of keeping him trapped until jeff died had worked then his dimension would most likely also collapse#if anything the way things are set up rn is sooo interesting because miles IS precisely on the way to fulfill a canon event#the question is - are they going to play into that- or is there going to be a twist. Gwen's realization that Her dad could in fact Quit -#comes to mind#i for one would find it really funny if the plot of the next movie is trying to convince jeff to quit his job but i doubt it jxnsn#my guess is that since this is basically the variation of the trolley problem where the singular person on the tracks is one you care about#(but said person is simultaneously also on the 5 person rail because if they don't die everyone does)#and miles has decided to just go and stop the fucking trolley itself fnsjsj#the plot's gonna go a bit more all out . /Beyond/ the previous scope- if you will#the only sticking point i have with this movie in general though is pavitr sticking with the group like.#“obviously he would've stuck with miles- he wouldn't want the guy to die!”so you think he prefers the version of events where everyone does#his friends? his aunt - whatever family he has- his girlfriend? EVERYONE?#yeah like nah until he can solidly know that shits gonna be fine in his home world i don't think it makes sense for him to fuck around more#yanno?#not that I dont want to see more of him- on the contrary I fuckin love his design to bits#just saying if miguel drops the bomb that his universe collapsed and my guy switches sides i would not be surprised

okay so:
the year is 2021. the month is june. the new season of hermitcraft, season 8, has just started, and everything is great! the hermits are all messing around, having fun, building insane things within the first week of the server being active, and generally having a good time. everyone's collected themselves into little factions, pranking each other, and it's all the fun, lighthearted, mostly-vanilla content hermitcraft is known for.
and then the split between minecraft versions 1.18 and 1.19 is announced. the delay of new terrain, and especially of new mobs like the warden, considerably disrupt several of the hermits' plans. but it's fine, they'll figure something out, they're professionals, and it mostly goes unnoticed.
about two weeks later, on november 9th, grian turns to mumbo jumbo in one of his episodes, and asks the famous question that would seal hermitcraft season 8's fate:
"mumbo, is the moon... big?"
suddenly, the fans panic. they search back through videos and streams, and realize that the moon had been abnormally large and stuck in a full-moon phase since october 30th. the Moon Big event has begun.
this is where the roleplay really starts. once the moon's size has been brought up, the hermits start a weird combination of scrambling to figure out why the moon's growing, and how to stop it- but also of ignoring it, hoping it won't be a problem, hoping someone else will deal with it. the moon keeps getting bigger, more hermits start realizing it's going on, and a creeping sense of dread starts to grow. but it's fine. it's fine, right? they do little plotlines like this all the time. they'll figure something out, the moon will go back to normal, and we'll laugh about it when this is all over. it's fine.
and then, blocks start flying away. just floating up out of the ground, and falling right back down! like for a moment, a square meter chunk of dirt has decided it's a ballerina and leaped out of the ground! but it's fine, right? the blocks are coming back. no lasting harm is done. they're going to fix it all... right?
the moon gets bigger. it's growing every day- local hermit weirdguy joe hills measures it every stream. the blocks start flying higher. gravity starts getting... weird, with players getting the slow falling effect at random, and being lifted off of the earth themselves. the players form cults and rituals and whatnot to try and appease the moon, convince it to leave them alone, making plans to escape. nothing works. things keep getting worse, and the moon keeps getting bigger. but it'll be fine. these storylines never leave lasting harm, or at least they never have before. they'll be fine.
and then the blocks stop coming back, just floating into the sky forever. the players have the slow falling effect more than they don't now. the moon is now so big it's visible even during the day, and fills the entire sky at night. they start planning their escapes in earnest, and say their goodbyes. some hermits jump into a void hole in the overworld (it was the centerpiece of their village). some flee to the End, some to the nether, some just fly with elytras and hope they can get far enough away in time. one brave hermit, tango, flies himself to the moon in a futile attempt to blow the whole thing up before it can crash.
Tumblr media
but in the end, the moon crashes into the server, and everything they'd built was destroyed. and the whole time, there'd been nothing any of them could've done. season eight was over, a full six months before anyone had expected it to end, and season nine wouldn't start until about three months later. and im still not okay about it.
(here's a cool animatic of the moon's crash! honestly i dont think you need too much hermitcraft knowledge to get the gist)
(also the moon crash happened on the day before my birthday lmao.)
….
holy shit

Hello!! I know some people get squicked out by this subject so don’t worry about answering if you don’t want to, but can I request HSR men (Welt, Sampo, Jing Yuan, Gepard, anyone else you enjoy writing for) accidentally getting their s/o pregnant?
I imagine Natasha would hunt down Sampo and drag him back to the clinic to talk bc s/o came to her crying and doesn’t know how to tell him. The rest of the boys I feel like would roll with the punches and handle it just fine.
✨ may your 5 stars be early :D ✨
Hey there! Yeah I have no problem with this prompt, I’m eager to write it, thank you for sending it in!
And thank you so much hehe, may yours be as well!
Cw! Pregnancy
-Honkai Star Rail men accidentally getting their s/o pregnant-
Welt Yang: Welt Yang I feel would notice the signs that something’s not quite right with you, but I doubt he’d suspect he accidentally got you pregnant. He just assumes your feeling a little sick or something. Until you decide to take a test because…what if? And wouldn’t you know it…pregnant. Oh he feels bad about it. He didn’t mean to. He wanted to sit down and discuss having children with you and now he’s shoved you into this parenting thing without consulting you. The man wanted to have children, but he didn’t want things to happen like this. He’ll ask you if you want to keep the baby, but deep down he’s hoping you’ll say yes, though he’ll respect your decision either way. And when you do say you want to keep the baby, he feels…warm inside. It was an accident, but your family is growing a little bigger, and the Astral Express crew is so excited by your announcement. Welt and the crew eagerly await the arrival of your baby, and you almost forget that things weren’t supposed to happen quite this way. Welt would feel like he has to make it up to you for accidentally getting you pregnant, even if you insist he doesn’t. He does all sorts of things to take care of you during your pregnancy, and he’ll always be there for you. Just call his name.
Sampo Koski:(I’m just gonna use your idea, I loved it, I hope you don’t mind!) You had no idea what to do. You knew Sampo didn’t want kids, but now here you were…pregnant. So you go to Natasha to confirm the results, and while you’re there you can’t help but break down in front of the doctor, crying because you want to have this baby, but you don’t know what Sampo is going to do. Natasha agrees to go find him for you. And when she explains the situation and brings him to you, he’s not happy. You…actually want his accidental baby? Well he doesn’t. He’ll try to encourage you to get rid of it. No need to have a child disrupting what you have, right? What you have is so good. Just you and Sampo against the world. He doesn’t need the responsibility of raising a child. But you’re determined. And you try to tell him he might like fatherhood, though he’s hard to convince. Your pregnancy is one of those rare moments where you get to see Serious Sampo, and it’s a little…bizarre to be honest. To see him so…genuine and sincere about what he wants. And what he wants is to not have a kid. But he’ll take care of you. Even if he disagrees with what you’re doing. He doesn’t stop trying to convince you to get rid of it, but once he realizes your mind really is made up, he’ll drop it and give up. There’s no point fighting with you. Your much more stubborn than he is.
Jing Yuan: Jing Yuan prefers for things to be planned out, but he’s also excellent at improvising. And you’re essentially ordering him to improvise when you announce he accidentally got you pregnant. Well he takes the news very calmly, very properly, like a newly expecting father should. “Ah, my bad…” is what he says, with a charming smile that suggests he isn’t really sorry. I think he would encourage you to keep the baby. He’s wanted to have children with you for a while now, maybe this was fate… And he’s overjoyed when you agree that you’d like to keep the baby. He’ll treat you very well. Yes, this was an accident, but the way he behaves makes it seem like he’s been prepared for this for a long time. Truthfully he’s been wanting to have the kids discussion with you, but this works too. He wants you to know he’s fully on your side and supportive of you during your pregnancy. And he lets you know just how excited he is to meet his child. (Yanqing doesn’t know how to feel about getting a sibling lolol)
Gepard Landau: OH this poor man. He apologizes so, SO profusely, begging for your forgiveness, telling you he didn’t mean to, that it was just an accident and when you reassure him that it’s OK, he asks what you want to do next. Well. You’d like to keep the baby, to be honest. The two of you have only talked about it a bit, but you both agreed you’d like to be parents should the opportunity ever present itself, and here it was. Maybe not how you were expecting it, but it still works, right? Gepard is excited! He’s been wanting to be a father for some time now, and even if this was happening all too suddenly, and because of an accident, at least it was Happening finally! He does his best to take time off work so he can take care of you, but he’s still a busy man. He does his best though, for you, and your future child.
Luocha: doesn’t want kids. But you couldn’t possibly know that. Not from the way he smiled so calmly at you and congratulated you for your pregnancy, even if it was an accident. But inwards he’s screaming at himself. Why did he have to be so careless, and get you pregnant?! But you seemed so happy, so he’ll bite his tongue. He takes great care of you during the pregnancy process. His medical skills means he’s extra prepared for this scenario. He’s always smiling, asking how you’re feeling…he doesn’t even subtly encourage you to not want the baby or anything. But oh, deep down he’s not happy. But you’re happy. You’re more important to him. So he’ll be a father to his child. He’ll take responsibility for his actions. He sees fatherhood more as a duty…a responsibility than anything else. (Now I’m imagining a scene where he gets frustrated at his kid and tells them they were an accident and he never wished for them to exist :0) (I’m just very convinced Luocha doesn’t want to be a father)
Hehe this was a fun one…I’ll do some more guys if requested!

I really enjoyed seeing your last post!!! It reminded me of something else that I noticed when I was younger and not really seeing LO through the eyes I am now- even when I lived LO, I noticed that Minthe’s bust size.. Might’ve changed? (I could be remembering wrong, and I’m sorry if I am!) I didn’t think on it too much back then, but it felt a lot like the “she could never measure up to Persephone”, or the “she’s nothing to worry about when it comes to Persephone”!!
But then, when Minthe was supposed to be more of a “problem,” I noticed she’d get drawn with a larger bust- or at least larger than it had been back in the earliest episodes!
This could all make absolutely no sense, (and I apologize for just rambling in your askbox!), but I watching a character’s “worthiness” be portrayed through something as simple and neutral as their chest size stuck out to me then, and sticks out to me now!! 😓)
Oh don't apologize, you're literally pointing out exactly the things we've even talked about in the ULO community !
Literally here she is in S1:
Tumblr media
And we even get a scene of her smooshing her boobs together in Episode 35 in an effort to make them seem bigger because she legit feels like Hades is pursuing the "new hotness" in the office based around their physical appearances:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But then she conveniently goes up like 3 cup sizes when it's time for her to be cemented as the villain and suffer her fate by getting turned into a plant?
Tumblr media
I've literally seen fans grasp at straws to explain that maybe she got a boob job but then they don't realize that the story at this point has only been going on for like, 3-4 weeks at most. At best you shouldn't have to make those massive leaps to explain the inconsistent character body types. If Minthe really did get a boob job, don't you think that's something that should have been explained in the comic?
And let's be real, we all know what it's really about because it's just more of Rachel pitting women against women:
Tumblr media
What's wild though is that Rachel is vastly misinterpreting a classic image here:
Tumblr media
A lot of people look at that image of Jayne Mansfield and Sophia Loren and just immediately assume that Sophia is giving Jayne the stink eye over her outfit. And of course, we see this misinterpretation in Rachel's drawing that swaps Sophia and Jayne with Minthe and Persephone.
When in FACT what was actually going on was that Sophia spotted Jayne getting dangerously close to a wardrobe malfunction / nip slip and the camera just happened to catch her making a face that could be misinterpreted as slut-shaming.
"Yes, Paramount had organized a party for me. All of cinema was there, it was incredible. And then comes in Jayne Mansfield, the last one to come. For me, that was when it got amazing. She came right for my table. She knew everyone was watching. She sat down. And now, she was barely… Listen. Look at the picture. Where are my eyes? I'm staring at her nipples because I am afraid they are about to come onto my plate. In my face you can see the fear. I'm so frightened that everything in her dress is going to blow—BOOM!—and spill all over the table."
Ans Sophia has actually stated that she doesn't like those misinterpretations and is trying to actively distance herself from it.
"Actually, many, many times I am given this photo to autograph it. And I never do. I don't want to have anything to do with that. And also out of respect for Jayne Mansfield because she's not with us anymore."
Jayne died in 1967, only living for about 30 years, and Sophia herself is actually still around. I can imagine how disheartening it is to see people still misinterpreting a photo of two friends and colleagues especially when it's through the lens of slut-shaming an accomplished actress who is unfortunately no longer with us.
Sooo yeah all that said, I'm less inclined to believe it was Minthe getting a boob job and more inclined to believe it was more of Rachel's weird internalized misogyny picking and choosing which women are "sluts" and which ones are "victims" for dressing or being built a certain way. It's really gross when you start to notice it.
People have also pointed out how odd it is that every single character who gets into a relationship or is in a relationship by S3 seemingly morphs into copies of Hades and Persephone, which is really just more of a testament to how lazy Rachel is in her character designs. In her head she's just trying Hades and Persephone all the time but different colors, I imagine at this point the H x P relationship is the only thing that she's interested in writing/drawing about (and even that's arguably hanging on by a thread because she couldn't even let their long-awaited wedding scene have real room to breathe) so it's almost like she's defaulting to just zoning out and drawing nothing but H x P and then having her assistants color them differently based on who it's actually supposed to be.
But I digress. The body shaming and slut shaming is definitely hard-baked into LO and how it portrays its characters. Despite Rachel having written an actual comic portraying sexism in the past, she still can't seem to express her ideas around sexism, to the point of, again, saying she "didn't know sexism was that bad" until she worked on LO. Like, girl... you drew a comic about sexism before LO, what are you talking about? Is this more of you not wanting to acknowledge ANY of the work you did prior to LO, or are you telling me you didn't intend for those older works to be interpreted as sexism???
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"I feel like female characters in general, people will be a little harsher on them and sometimes way harsher on them, and I used to be like.. before I started writing the story and like making a story I was like yeah, sexism is not that bad, and [now] I was like oh it's bad. It's quite bad [laughs], so like, I don't know, I feel like the female characters in the story don't get so much of a pass. But this isn't consistent across the board, it's not all the time." - Rachel Smythe, Girl Wonder Podcast circa 2022

Ur blog srsly brings us the vees polycule we needed. Do you have any angsty hcs 👀
I am glad to bring it! As a poly person myself I was very upset the Vees aren't canonically poly, I was so excited for the rep
As always your wish is my command but careful what you wish for~
Valentino has hit Vox with the glass cups he throws before, it shattered Vox's screen because of the force and Valentino completely panicked. He vowed to never throw things again but being Val it didn't last very long, he's now hyper aware of when he throws something near Vox so it doesn't hit him. While Vox usually sidesteps to move further away from the impact point he knows if he stayed put it wouldn't have hit him.
Velvette once forgot about the extermination and went out to get something an hour before it started, she got caught up in the extermination and got badly hurt. Thankfully the boys were there to protect her and get her back to the safety of the tower.
Vox had also been hurt badly that night because he stalled for time so Valentino could get Velvette back to the tower, Velvette felt so guilty after that, she knows her stupid mistake could have gotten them all killed.
Vox has serious insecurity issues but he rarely talks about them to his partners despite how much they want him to open up, he's worried if he does they'll realize he's not worth their time.
Velvette has scars on her thighs from a particularly bad ex she had when she first got to hell, the boys asked about them only once but when she quickly shut down all questions about it and practically bolted from the room they mutually understood they were never going to ask her about it again. If she wants to tell them she will.
Vox has a nasty scar that runs down his back, Valentino and Velvette assume it's from Alastor but they have no confirmation or denial, Vox keeps it hidden as often as he can.
Val has several scars across his midsection, he's told the others where they came from and the three of them will take the secret to their second graves.
Vox has a special technician he pays a lot to deal with his electrical components including the bigger shit like having to replace his screen or in rare cases of severe damage his whole TV needs to be replaced (tho sometimes it is replaced for upgrades).
He's scared he has to leave his fate in someones hands like this but he doesn't have any other choice. He refuses to let Velvette and Valentino in while his technician is working on him. He feels vulnerable enough during this without them witnessing it.
Vox doesn't tell the others if he's not feeling well, he usually locks himself up and tries to deal with it himself, if it ends up being a problem for his technician he calls them, but if its not he tries to deal with it himself without the other Vees finding out.
Velvette has deep self hatred issues, she's always trying to dress better, look better, be better, but it's never enough for her. The boys try their best to show her that she's more than enough, sometimes she believes them, most of the time she doesn't.
When one of the others is hurt the other will be by the bedside keeping an eye on them. Vox will usually be trying to keep things in all of their departments running while the other one deals with the one who is hurt, it's easier for him to bury himself in work than to worry himself sick.
If Vox himself is hurt Val and Velvette will shut the whole damn tower down and sit with him.
Vox made Valentino cry once, he can't even remember what he did to accomplish it but it freaked him out so badly, he never thought he'd see the moth cry and it was definitely a "NOPE! NEVER AGAIN!!!" moment for him.
Vox and Velvette both struggle to talk about serious matters when it comes to the relationship, Val is just much more open.
Velvette doesn't usually have an issue asking to be held when she's feeling like she isn't enough, but Vox struggles hard, very often unable to ask even for a simple hug because he doesn't feel like he deserves it.
Valentino has severe abandonment issues. He really hates being alone in the penthouse so if the others are working he's usually down in the studio bothering some of his employees for random reasons just to keep from being alone.
Valentino always worries that he's too clingy and that the others hate it. Actually they love that he's clingy and snuggly, they tell him that often, he doesn't always believe them.
They each have their own way to calm the others down. Vox will calmly talk them down, Velvette will give soft touches and hugs, and Valentino will use his wings as weighted blankets and allow the others to play with the fluff at the edges of his wings until they're calm.
Alrighty that's all I got, hope you like it!
As always if you want more please let me know!

That Tweet, take 2
OK, so my first reaction to That Tweet, by Djenks, was as follows:
My money is on DJenks realizing that he shat the bed & now furiously trying to write himself out of the corner he's in. (My second guess is that he basically already knows there won't be a Season 3, but there's some network or business-related reason for not announcing it yet.)
But now that I've had a bit more time to think about it, I am kind of seeing a scenario where he could've intended it to be a fuckery all along.
Step one is that we imagine him being a bit disappointed by how Lucius's death fooled absolutely no-one. It's likely that he was planning for the reveal that he was alive to be a much bigger moment than it actually was; maybe he even has some Big Reveal ideas that he had to put on ice once it became clear that there was very little actual suspense surrounding Lucius's fate. This is, obviously, since I don't know him personally, a big hairy guess, but it seems like a very plausible reaction for someone to have, when they put a lot of effort into planning a surprise and it falls flat because everyone guessed it.
Step two is him deciding to sell Izzy's "death" a little harder, with the emotional death scene and the funeral (where we do not actually see the body, and a mourner, Wee John, is missing) and all. It's laying it on a little thick, in my opinion, but again, we did all confidently (and correctly) assume that Lucius was alive based on the evidence that "this show wouldn't do that" and "The Stede-Ed reunion won't work if he's really dead," so you can see how a showrunner could, hypothetically, get to--
Step three, is Djenks opening up his socials at the crack of dawn on Thursday morning, expecting to see reams of speculation and analysis about how Izzy could have survived, and being genuinely shocked to instead find seas of angry and devastated fans suggesting that he should perhaps give up television in favor of a career in going and fucking himself.
Step four, realizing that he drastically overshot the mark re: creating genuine suspense over character death, he tweets out a big obvious hint.
I don't love this interpretation--for one thing, there is nothing in the episode we saw that would provide a plausible in-universe reason for faking Izzy's death. It would be pretty easy to create one--have Prince Ricky No-Nose vow personal vengeance against Izzy Hands in specific for calling him a syphilitic cunt/his role in foiling the "end of piracy" scheme--but we did not see anything like that. To make the funeral scene work as a fuckery, it would be necessary to insert a flashback between the "death" and the funeral in which A) this happens, and B) the other characters find out about it. That's a cheap trick that I personally hate--the old, "Haha, I made you feel a thing by deliberately withholding context"--but again, if it's an overcorrection for the complete and abject failure of the effort to create suspense around Lucius's fate, I guess I can live with it.
If Izzy's death is a fuckery, that addresses a lot of the other problems with the finale. First, Ed and Stede's obviously-doomed, harebrained scheme to give up piracy and be innkeepers (in a dilapidated shack, on an island where we see no other people or settlements) is plausibly funny, as long as we aren't thinking that Izzy died for it.
Second, the tonal whiplash of going from the funeral to the wedding is also fine if everyone involved knows perfect well that the guest of honor at the funeral is actually recuperating just offscreen.
(Thirdly, there's Captain Frenchie--I haven't seen much discussion of that, but the only problem I had with it is that I can't think of any moments from the season where he stood out as being a leader for the crew. I might've missed something; he's not one of my particular blorbos, but it wouldn't have taken much, just something you can look back on and see how it was setting up him becoming captain.
And, crucially, we do have those few little moments of setup for Frenchie as First Mate to Captain Izzy. Frenchie was there during the dark days, during which he presumably underwent some skill development, pirate-wise, and definitely bonded with Izzy to some extent. We see him holding Izzy's hand during his breakdown, and he presumably helped hide him and definitely lied to Blackbeard about it, and then how they were sitting in the cell on Zheng's ship--it isn't a whole lot, but you can look back and see why it makes sense for Izzy to pick him.)
Making Izzy's death a fuckery doesn't do anything to fix the way the whole Zheng thing fell flat. (Why give her a massive fleet in the first place, only to take it away? Why did we get those scenes of ships being towed across land? What was she doing selling soup on the Republic of Pirates? For that matter, why did she come to the Caribbean in the first place, after becoming Pirate Queen of the Chinese seas?) It doesn't help with how Ed and Stede keep repeating the same beats of getting closer, then running away, then reuniting without ever talking about their relationship or their issues. It doesn't address why the Kraken Era had to go that dark, if the whole thing was just going to be smoothed over in the space between episodes 4 and 5, and how Ed never really takes responsibility for any of what he did.
However, middle installments of trilogies are notoriously difficult to write, and it isn't particularly fair to judge them before you get to the last part. Most of the weak points could look better in hindsight once we know how it all turns out.
(And, not for nothing, as long as Izzy is alive, we can still get something where Ed reckons with the Kraken Era, and particularly-but-not-exclusively what he did to Izzy. I don't see how that works with a dead Izzy, though--it's too easy for Ed to keep minimizing what he did and offloading blame onto him.)
There isn't a whole lot of evidence for an Izzy Lives scenario. All we have is:
This Show Wouldn't Do That (which, recall, was point 1 in why we didn't believe Lucius was dead. However, it is weakened by the absence of point 2--unlike with Lucius, the person who "killed" Izzy isn't a character we're expected to like or root for.)
No body at the funeral. I initially interpreted the funeral as being intended as proof that Izzy was really dead, a sort of "don't get your hopes up, guys," after what happened with Lucius. But again, if we're thinking about the framing of Izzy's "death" as an overcorrection to how completely non-fooled we all were by Lucius's, maaaaaybe not? I mean, if he really wanted to hammer the nail into the coffin, we would have seen Izzy lying in the grave, or his body being sewn into a shroud of sailcloth (as was the custom), or something. (Also, point 2b, the unicorn did have two legs.)
No Wee John at the funeral. There are certainly Doylist reasons he might've been left out--maybe the way the shooting schedule worked out, it saved money or some other resource to just leave him out of that scene, something like that. But for an in-universe reason, "somebody had to stay back and nurse Izzy" makes a lot of sense. (I mean, if this show operated on real-world logic, someone would have had to stay with the ship, but that's never been a concern before.) Wee John helping Izzy with his makeup for Calypso's birthday was presumably a bonding experience that involved some vulnerability on Izzy's part, so it would be weird for him to just nope out of the funeral, but plausible that Izzy would find him acceptable as a caregiver.
Stede and Ed's conversation over Izzy's grave could, just barely, make sense as a conversation about how Ed and Izzy are now on separate paths, with no particular guarantee that they'll see each other again. It takes a certain amount of massaging to make it fit, but it almost could? (Except Zheng's part really doesn't--unless the grave actually contains someone Ed cares about, or she isn't in on the secret that the funeral is a fuckery.)
I'm not in love with any of this, or even particularly convinced by it--my enthusiasm for any Season 3 is going to be pretty dampened, unless the announcement that it's been picked up includes the information that Con O'Neill has a contract to appear as a major character in all 8/10/whatever episodes--but IDK, I guess it's maybe not outside the realm of possibility? Ish?

Rescue Mission
Will Turner/Fem!Reader
Fictober Day 26 of 31
Words: 1,238
Summary: When your husband is taken, you very bravely (or very stupidly) go alone to rescue him.
Note: today is actually a double feature of will turner fics, since i promised i would write a request for an anon a little bit ago.
there's some canon divergence in here for dead man's chest i suppose? it doesn't ever specifically follow the movie but it has to do with davy jones and i've just kind of wrote with the general vibe of things.

You could hear the sound of Davy Jones’ voice as you crept up the side of the ship, with nothing but a sword at your hip and a wooden lifeboat bobbing behind you in the shallows, an unwavering determined expression on your face.
When Captain Jack Sparrow had returned to shore three weeks ago without your husband with him, you immediately threatened the pirate with certain death if you found out that he had let Will die. Triumphantly, the slightly drunken idiot informed you that Will was not in fact dead, but rather trapped on a ship with a ghost crew and no way out. You kept to your word (and didn’t kill him), but that wasn’t to say that he left the encounter completely unscathed.
So when the Flying Dutchman appeared at the port of Tortuga, you jumped at the chance to fix the mess that Sparrow had created and save your lover from a fate worse than death. You probably had a death wish, to try and go against Jones like this with no backup and no combat experience, but you had to try. You’d been handling a sword since your early teens, so your skill was all you had to rely on.
You climbed through one of the large windows on the lower levels on the ship, thankful for the fact that the rest of the crew was most likely on the deck. It would probably present a bigger problem for you later, but right now it was a good thing.
Keeping your steps as light and gentle as physically possible, you snuck up the stairs and took refuge behind a large pile of crates. You caught a glimpse of Will, with rope around his wrists but otherwise unharmed. You could also see a glimpse of his sword in one corner of the deck, glinting against the old and darkened wood.
But most surprising of all, you didn’t see Davy Jones.
Now, this was not something you were going to question, because you knew that if you could get out of here without ever catching sight of this ship’s captain you had a much higher chance of success. Pulling the sword from its place on your hip, you crept around the ship, keeping yourself out of sight of the two crew members who were standing in the middle of the deck. The rest of the crew must be off somewhere else, you realized, and you definitely didn’t want to still be here when they returned.
As you moved from the crates, you caught Will staring right at you, a completely shocked expression on his face. He seemed to mouth What are you doing here? and you just raised a finger to your lips in response. If even one of the remaining crew members suspected that they weren’t alone on this ship your elaborate rescue mission was toast, and you couldn’t afford to lose right now.
You knew that Will would probably have a lot of questions for you later, and you would answer them in due time, but right now the most important thing was getting him free.
When the crewmen descended to the lower levels of the ship, you knew that was your chance. You immediately began to cut the ropes around your boyfriend’s wrists.
“What are you doing here?” he whispered.
“Rescuing you,” you hissed back. “And we don’t have much time, so you need to listen to me.”
As well as this plan had gone so far, you were not particularly lucky after the ropes fell to the deck of the ship and Will picked up his sword, because the crew of the Dutchman were finally alerted to your presence.
Immediately, one of them lunged at you, and your sword clanged against his. You attempted to stab him in the heart, but he parried and blocked your blow. You could hear what sounded like Will’s voice calling out to you to jump overboard, and you hoped that you heard him correctly.
This crewman (who had what looked like rotting limbs and the head of a shark), made a stab at you, but you managed to dodge it. You were just about to make another move, but the second crew member attacked the first, giving you the chance to pull away.
You looked at the man in confusion, and he nodded at you, his eyes darting to the waters beyond the ship as he parried his crewmate. Not wanting to waste the chance to escape, you quickly sprinted to the edge of the ship, clambering over the edge at the same time as Will, and the two of you reached for each other as you fell into the ocean.
You were worried about slamming into the seafloor as you descended, but thankfully the ship had been anchored in a place where the water was deep enough for you to land without major harm. After a quick breath of air, you ducked back underwater and followed Will to a rocky cave just out of eyesight of the Dutchman. You had thought about swimming for the boat you had taken out here, but it would be too easily seen and generally too risky.
You stepped out of the water, immediately finding yourself wrapped in a hug before Will leaned down to place a kiss on your lips. You hadn’t seen him in so long, and you passionately obliged, wanting to never leave this particular moment. Despite the fact that you were currently sopping wet and were more than likely still in some kind of danger, this fleeting moment was the happiest you’ve felt in a long while.
When you finally had to pull away for air, you looked at Will. “Are you alright?”
He nodded. “We were lucky that Jones was finally using his day on land to hunt down Jack, or we could still be stuck on that boat.”
You nodded. “And we’re also lucky one of the crew let us go.”
His expression changed slightly. “That was my father, Bootstrap Bill,” he said softly, and immediately your heart broke for him. It was in no way his fault and he had no say in the decision, but you knew that he likely felt responsibly for leaving a family member on that ship.
You reached down to take his hand, looking into his eyes as you spoke. “It’s clear that he loves you,” you said. “Do you know if there’s a way to release him from Jones’ crew?”
Will shook his head. “Not without a huge sacrifice on my side,” he said. “And even so, I doubt Jones would be so willing to negotiate now that I’ve run away.”
“Speaking of that,” you said. “Are you still in danger?”
He paused before responding. “Yes. After today, Davy Jones has to wait another ten years before he can set foot on land again, but we would lose that protection on the water.”
You nodded, not sure what to do. “Maybe we can take a few days before going back out there,” you suggested.
Will smiled. “I’ll need to find some kind of crew anyway.”
“Well, you have me for sure,” you said, squeezing his hand.
“I’d never doubt that,” he said, leaning down to steal another kiss from your lips.
You couldn’t help but smile into the kiss. The dangers weren’t over just yet, but at least you had Will by your side once more.

I'm not into cucking/cheating at all, but with how cruel Doflamingo can be, it's definitely on the menu. For more context, see the family pet posts on my One Piece masterlist
tw. dehumanization, weird pet play metaphors, very unreliable narrator, minors dni
Although using the term 'cucking' is a reach, considering that you're just the family pet. You were never brought into this to gain him more than some lukewarm entertainment, weren't meant to do anything more than to waltz around and get trained, to amuse him and learn to love him unconditionally. (Although that part has been rather difficult to achieve, but he has resigned himself to it. Just like an ill-tempered little purse dog, you're cute when you're angry, when you gnash your blunt teeth at him and try to scratch at his chest when you don't want to be carried around anymore. Just a tiny apex predator thinking they have a chance against the other, bigger carnivore.) You're a living decoration, one with a personality. You'll be with him until either one of you dies, that's the commitment a pet requires and he'll gladly provide. But it ends there. How dare you pout when he surrounds himself with women, when he gets to rest on his laurels a little. How dare you scratch at the door when he's trying to fuck one, how dare you chew up their expensive purses when you finally give up and resign yourself to your fate. He'll have to lock you away if this continues, because you're gaining a little bit of a reputation and it doesn't do him any favors. He kicks you off his leg when you try it again, ignores the stunned woman right next to him that you were just interrupting with your yowling and asks you what your problem is. You at least have the decency to duck your head and look ashamed - and it finally clicks when you shuffle right back to that very leg that hauled you across the room. Oh, that's cute. Where did you get that sense of entitlement from, mutt? He says while he picks you up by the scruff of your neck. Do I look like I fuck my dog? Of course he has to train that attitude out of you, and quickly at that. A little time on your own in your crate does the trick. He gets to indulge freely and you get to learn something. Maybe he should consider getting you a companion, after all. Then again, that's also double the work. But really, haste makes waste and it's not like he has to decide right now. He tries to look at it from a brighter side as well: You've finally found some love for him within you, after all these years. It's a little misplaced for someone in your position but he can't help but be pleased with himself when he realizes how far you've come - from flea-ridden stray to spoiled little pet, jealous of him giving his rapt attentions to others.

S, I was musing on another post and realized that of all the Bat Clan, Jason seems to most often be treated as the most malleable by writers.
What I mean is, most other characters personas and histories do not change nearly so much as Jason's has/does. Efforts to do so also tend to be roundly rejected (Like Tim being an acrobat) or just like, steadily drift back to what they used to be (Cass's backstory).
Meanwhile Jason has been an acrobat, a homeless kid, a terrifying super villain, a magic sword guy, a parent/teacher to wayward vigilantes/criminals, an, enemy and ally, with different families and histories all the time.
Why do you think that is/what are your thoughts on it?
see, this is an interesting question because i thought about the very same thing when i saw a recently popular post about how the right to a consistent storyline is a privilege only of the batfam and all other characters else might be subjected to a major retcon that makes them completely unrecognisable at any time (maybe we saw the same post?)... and my first thought was exactly the same: jason does not have this privilege at all.
i think there's plenty reasons for it, starting with the fact that he was introduced in the very... unstable for the dc editorial times, especially when it comes to the (at the time contested) role of robin, which put him at risk of either complete retcon or erasure at the very start. and both in a way happened.
in a consequence of his retconned background and aditf, his character, on a meta level, naturally challenges the idea of batman as a whole. and i don’t mean the red hood era nor the no-kill rule debate. i mean his very status as a victim, a victim not only of the joker, but a victim of the system as it is and a victim of vigilantism, and a victim of the narrative, a sacrifice that brought the comics into its new era. and it has to be said that even pre-crisis jay was on thin ice as at the time dc faced the issue of explaining what the child is doing in the field at all (something that they did not have to worry for a while since dick was an adult!). personally, i think moench rose up to the challenge, but it was still not satisfactory for o'neil who wanted things to get darker (and who wanted it so much that he was unhappy enough even with collins' work and limited his involvement in the title). all of this becomes even bigger problem post-aditf and post-utrh. there's of course the role of victim blaming, as dc was actually criticised quite thoroughly for the voting event and the graphic for the time content (the death of a child was simply not something you were supposed to show in a medium like that in such a way), so jason's personality and circumstances had to be changed to fit the always-doomed narrative. then, the writers started to simply avoid the topic or adjust his character in different ways to explain the tragedy in a way that would not make bruce's decisions re: him seem questionable (this involves for example aging jason up in rebirth!). and now, especially contemporary comics are not interested in the in-universe politics and society, cannot address jason's victimhood nor properly assess his relationship with the major themes of the title. jason’s background and personality cannot be written with care as (and i know i say it all the time. but it's true!) the genre doesn’t take itself seriously anymore and is not interested in any challenges. and he’s not the only character facing this fate; this is also the issue with talia or even kon. tropification, “dynamics” etc.
but there's also another side of it. writers do know (or at least rightly have the intuition) that jason's general themes & history (his incredibly close connection to gotham, for example), no matter how problematic for them, at the same time make him stand at the core of the batman lore. this makes him also a litmus paper for the title. if you want to make a definitive statement about batman, referring to his biggest failure and perhaps even the biggest trauma is the easiest way to do so. if you want to talk about ethics, here's the character who (presumably still...?) is known for killing. if you want to defend the legacy from accusations of promoting reactionary attitudes, here's the guy born into poverty, you can make him into a stereotype and ridicule him so that batman's attitude seems reasonable and progressive in comparison... etc.
and then there are times when the editorial wants to just push him out of the mainstream titles, since he messes with it so much. so we get all the international missions, weird team ups and mystical cults.
but as i said at the beginning: it all boils down to the fact that jay really got the shortest straw in terms of the time when he was introduced, which makes him a character both incredibly salient and inconvenient. and so he is always subject to the whims of the current dc overlords with little regard to his history.

eluzriel | E | essentially pwp but there's some espionage and getting together
There are secrets Elain's lovers have been keeping from the rest of the Night Court, but some truths Elain simply didn't disclose that come to light during her first intercontinental spy mission to Rask - such as reaching a decision about maintaining casual relationships separately, or perhaps committing to something bigger.
When both Azriel and Lucien are sent after Elain to ensure her safety, everything comes out in the open.

“Our dove seems to have fluttered away.”
Azriel startles at the sound of Lucien’s voice. He whips around, hair an even more disheveled mess than he went to sleep with and eyes muzzy with sleep as he squints at his unexpected bedmate. It’s almost cute, how relaxed the spymaster has been, to not automatically note Lucien’s presence.
What’s not as cute is the lethal dagger Lucien knows is clutched in the Illyrian’s hands under his downy soft pillow, watches Azriel’s golden brown and black painted biceps ripple with a choice …
Azriel relaxes his hand and his arm and casually flips his hair from his eyes. “Where?” he asks succinctly, voice thick with sleep.
Lucien’s body melts back into the mattress — he hadn’t realized he’d been tensed for a fight — and he forces himself to look away from the undeniably attractive male before he gets carried away. He’d stirred before dawn to find Elain missing and Azriel still out cold. The bond had been dim, but full, a sure sign she was busy working.
The only one awake in the room, his thoughts quickly turned to the evening. Those thoughts took him to highs of arousals and lows of the uncertainty around the plethora of unanswered questions that still remain.
“Off to solve the world’s problems, I’m sure.”
“Brat,” Azriel huffs. “She didn’t have to lie about going back out.”
“You wouldn’t have been too distracted to enjoy last night’s activities if you were worried about mission prep?” He tries to keep any judgment from his tone, because Cauldron knows Lucien would have been challenged to pay attention knowing his mate could be facing potential danger.
Azriel stretches his wings lazily, uncaring that he cuts into Lucien’s space to do so. If Lucien isn’t confused, Azriel looks damn well relaxed.
“I guess,” he grunts his agreement, and then his cold hazel eyes slide to Lucien.
“You care for her deeply.”
“Of course. I know I was only a distraction to warm her bed at first, but I have tried …” His eyes squint against the vulnerability of what he's saying. To Lucien’s continued surprise, Azriel doesn’t back away from it. “I have tried to earn her affection beyond that.”
One uncomfortable truth for another then. “I can relate. Do you understand what it's like to try to prove yourself to a female who doesn't accept ‘Cauldron blessed fate’ as a good enough reason?”
Lucien laughs to himself, but he's unable to look elsewhere in the room. Unable to be torn from this male’s gaze that seems to be a beacon under the canopy of his stretched wings. It would be easier, to look away, to make the moment feel less exposing … But what they're sharing with each other in words, they’re also sharing by remaining in bed beside each other, as naked as when they'd fallen asleep in it.
Azriel’s shadows tuck and roll and twist atop their master’s wings, happy to have a barrier against Lucien and the power that always radiates around him like a second skin whether others can see it or not. They’re cutting shapes through the filtered morning light in their intimate space.
Outside of the intensity of the emotions running high the night before, Lucien feels a twist in his gut to be under that stare. Not only is Azriel intimidating as hell just from sheer body count, but his otherworldly beauty hadn’t been flattery but a true compliment.
Being naked under the same sheets as this male …
Only practice catching his breath after waking beside Elain has prepared Lucien for this moment.
It helps there isn’t a mating bond tying their instinctual sexual urges together.
“This is weird,” Azriel says, breaking the moment and angling onto his side so he can better assess Lucien. Wings folded back, his shadows eek around them to peer cautiously at Lucien in their wispy states.
Lucien shrugs. “I’ve woken up in odder configurations. This must be rather tame compared to the infamous youth you and your brothers shared?” Elain had told him this would be important, to assure Azriel.
A more detailed note would have been helpful, if Elain had planned to be away for a while though. He’s shooting from the hip when all his mind can focus on is the strain not to get an erection while Azriel continues to casually flex his powerful wings this way and that like a dog’s crooked ear. Morning light shines through the membranes like stained glass windowpanes of magenta and pink hues, some oranges and yellows.
Like his own personal sunrise.

Take the hand of the one reflected in the Mirror
A Yuu!reader fic with my oc Mira about the game Intro
just a small fic while I'm still finishing a bigger one
Tumblr media
Darkness.
Surveying your surroundings, you find youself in a void with nothing more than an old mirror where darkness enfolds most of your vision
"Where am I?" you think to yourself, but the echo of the void leaves you questioning whether you uttered those words aloud.
How did you end up here? You don’t remember exactly—just a carriage, a black carriage with horses. Have you been kidnapped? Perhaps. But for what? As long as you remember, you did nothing wrong.
Or were you dead? This thought seens to stick in you mind. You don't feel like you're alive, but also don't feel like you're dead. Should you let fear or unease envelop you? You really have no idea, but maybe...
"It's not time to think about that!" You try to get your mind back on track and proceed cautiously toward the old mirror, the only thing in the void with you.
Analyzing the mirror, your eyes are drawn to the intricate details of its golden frame. You discern two serpents, wich sinuous forms are entwined in ther own bodies. They appear almost alive, as if ready ready to attack you with their fangs at any second.
On top of the mirror, a crown rests without its rightful owner. The jewels adorned the crown like the most charming art piece in the world.
In this crown, lies the memory of a thorn queen who once ruled a valley with grace and ferocity, but unable to avoid the inevitable threads of fate, ended up passing away. A true tale of life, love and loss.
However, what most attracted your attention was what was inside the old mirror: an empty chamber in which, at the very center, stood a boy—the very manifestation of the thorn queen's sacrifice, now bearing the gulit of existing.
His head was facing the ground, making his face impossible to recognize. His hair, made of pale green flames, made your eyes light up. A black hood covered his head, adorned with the same ornaments of the mirror. Between the large sleeves of his black-shaded robe, his hands—which seemed to be covered in an inky substance—could be seen holding a magical sphere of fire, whose exuberant light enveloped and illuminated the area in a beatiful way.
Getting near to the mirror, you begin to feel the gentle warm of the flames spreading across the chamber. It makes you more comfortable and surprisingly gives you courage to try to approach the boy.
Who he was? Why he was inside a mirror? Maybe he could help you.
Still hesitant, You decide to take the risk and touch the thin—yet resistant— glass of the mirror. Feeling your hand warm up in a pleasant way.
—Hello?
And then, absolute regret fills your whole being.
His fire hair, once light green and subtle, now blazed with an uncontrollable intensity of dark flames. Startled by your sudden voice, the boy swiftly raised his head in surprise, sending a shiver through your whole body.
Somehow, the sense of comfort you experienced vanished within seconds, as if his entire aura had become unsettling... Uncanny.
You could finaly see his entire face—One of the boy's eyes was covered by a unusual white masking, while the other...
Had nothing.
Had nothing but YOUR reflection, exactly like a mirror.
You wish you could have more time to reorganize your thoughts, but as a result of his distraction caused by you, the sphere of magical fire in his hands quickly becomes unstable and starts increasing. In a fast movement he presses his palms against the magic sphere, struggling to restore its stability
You don't quite understand what that means, not until you hear a
Crack
And you realize that the entire void you are in has started to break, forming ruptures in the ground.
A intense light caused by the flames don't help you either, preventing you from seeing what's happening.
Gladly that wasn't a major problem, after all you could still hear the floor splitting up below your feet.
Your survival instinct made you yank yourself away from the rupture. Still scared by the cracking, you curl up like a ball in the ground and shield you head with your hands, worrying for your damn life.
For a brief moment, you begin to remember the things you love most, as if you were witnessing your life unfold before your eyes.
and then everything stops shaking.
Did you died? Again?!?!
You slowly stand up and take a deep breath, your senses still reeling from the shock. Fear grips you as you look around, only to find out that the ruptures have stopped growing, which gives you a feeling of relief...
The mirror!
You quickly turn your head towards the mirror—There he was.
Standing right in front of the mirror glass, with a stoic expression. The fire sphere, once turbulent and chaotic, now is in control, as if nothing had happened at all.
Unwittingly, you let out a shriek after seeing him, which made him react almost instantly.
"There you are. Don't be afraid" his voice sounded oddly deep for his young semblance.
"Your abrupt presence made me lose my focus. Are you, perhaps, a human?"
You shook your head slight, but he didn't answer. The uncertainty gnawed at you—could he not see you? After a minute, you finally to break the silence and dress him directly.
— Yes, I am… But who are you? what is this place?... Are you trapped in this mirr-
"I'm not."
His abrupt interruption caught you off guard. The boy’s demeanor shifted to an annoyed expression, as if you had just unearthed an uncomfortable topic
"You, at this very moment, hover over the abyss, a connection that was NOT supposed to exist between two different worlds" he quickly changes the subject
"My duty is to trace paths throughout all Twisted Wonderland. Sustaining a path that wasn’t forged by me and wasn’t even intended to exist demands additional power to prevent this realm from... falling apart"
"This mirror is the only way I can connect to you."
Confusion takes your mind, you don't understand what he's saying. Twisted Wonderland—a mysterious place you've never heard of before, was this some kind of sick joke?
— . . . Hahaha. . . Is this a prank?
He sighed and shook his head lightly.
"I know you're confused, but I'm here to help you."
— So tell me who you are. You were the one who did this to me? you slightly raised your voice
the boy hesitated a little, thinking what to say, but after a few seconds he finally has his answer
"Adress me as Mira."
"I hate lies, and I would prefer not to be dishonest with you. Therefore, I can only share a limited amount of information."
"So... A truly kind individual—as he refers to himself, told me to look for the anomaly that caused this. I just didn't expect the 'anomaly' to be a human."
— So you say you didn't do it… Well, at least you know how to take me home?
You don't quite believe Mira's words, but you still have hope of getting out of this place.
"To your home, I suppose I don't know how"
It's over, isn't it? You will never wake up from this nightmare.
You will never leave the void.
You will never go back to doing what you love.
This can't be the end.
no no NO NO NO YOU DON'T-
"However…"
Those who are guided by the dark mirror
"If what you truly desire is to escape this realm..."
As long as your heart desires,
Mira slowly removes one of his hands from the sphere of fire, causing the surroundings to tremble once more. In his eyes, you could see your own reflection shining like never before.
Slowly he reached out his hand toward the mirror—no, toward you. Around his arm, you notice a snake-shaped bracelet, its sinuous form as elegant as the golden serpents in the mirror ornament.
And then, his hand finally stops in front of you, waiting for you to take it.
Take the hand that appears in the mirror

Wiat stop omggg i’ve been reading these posts about the anti-Hinata Hyuga stuff and how she is infact privileged and ngl it lowkey hurt but also omfg???? I never realized how bad the Hyuga situation was or how Hinata is unable to pick a side, I just assumed she’d obviously dissolve the slavery practices because I see her as a good person(and i read too much fanfiction)
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA now i definitely need Hiashi to die in the war and for Neji to become leader(yeah no Hinata can’t lead to save her life) because it would be such a good step to take down the old system by replacing it with a Neji as a symbol of change. Media is making me go crazy again but that’s probably my room mold 😭😭😭😭
Also the Naruhina fan in me kinda wishes that Naruto learned sealing from Pervy sage because like imagine if they worked together to make a new Hyuga seal to actually protect the byakugan and then it gets worn as a clan marking, like the red fangs from the inuzuka and oh my god im so sorreybfor rambling all over this asks i just really really want more Hyuga content and for ny faves to be happy, also you are really well omg id love to have ur attention span for politics because i can barely understand my highschool civics like ibshoudl probably stop now-have a nice day!!!!!✨
Hello there,
It's okay to like a problematic character and it's okay to like a ship, the problem starts when people justify such problematic characteristics to make them "acceptable", like justifying Neji's treatment at the hands of the Main Family because he was "mean" to Hinata, despite him warning her about fighting him and asking her to forfeit multiple times.
I never realized how bad the Hyuga situation was or how Hinata is unable to pick a side
I'm sorry to be the one to tell you, but Hinata chose a side. Ignoring the matter or not giving it the relevance that it has even after her cousin's speech during their match or his match vs. Naruto, is to actively support the system in place; she might truly believe that is for the "greater good," as so his Konoha's mantra, but it doesn't change the fact that she agrees with the practice.
I just assumed she’d obviously dissolve the slavery practices because I see her as a good person(and i read too much fanfiction)
I don't see her as a good person for the reasons mentioned above, no good person sees her uncle being tortured and her cousin being enslaved and believes to be the bigger victim in their dynamic. Furthermore, she did pretty much nothing for anyone who wasn't Naruto; being shy and quiet is not the same as being a good person; she never mentioned being kind-spirited and thus, unable to be a shinobi (like Chöji, which was a full small arc of his character when fighting the Sound Four), but rather, weak.
now i definitely need Hiashi to die in the war and for Neji to become leader
I understand your wish for Hiashi to die, but Neji succumbing to his fate put an end to the "Hyuga's conundrum" as that's an issue that involves Konoha in itself and not addressing it in Boruto would've been a major problem; furthermore, the problem wasn't just about stopping the Main Family from creating slaves but also them giving reparations to those they enslaved, like Neji. His death was also used to give Hinata a "moment" with Naruto.
(yeah no Hinata can’t lead to save her life)
She can't, not just because she's weak (Shikamaru doesn't shine because he's particularly strong, he isn't), but also because she often puts her wishes above the safety of those under her command (Koü Hyüga) and can't come up with a basic strategy to fight her opponents. She perhaps modeled her attack pattern following Naruto's (who mostly attacks before coming up with a strategy, as he often relies on overwhelming his enemies), as she often states to look up to him and has spied on him multiple times, but he's far more strong and has much more chakra (plus healing chakra) than her.
Also the Naruhina fan in me kinda wishes that Naruto learned sealing from Pervy sage
I'm not sure Jiraiya knew much about sealing techniques (we only see him erasing Orochimaru's seal), Minato learned from Kushina and not him. Tsunade is likely far more versed on the matter and she never even attempted to take Neji's seal off, so that's where the village stands on the matter.
have a nice day!!!!!✨
Thank you. You too.

Ibara should exist, actually
Hey, another little essay about a book series that hardly anybody even thinks about anymore, but I do!
If you're a fan of the Pendragon Adventures series, you're likely aware of the... Ibara paradox. If you're not, let me explain:
In the book series, it's explained that there are "travelers" from each "territory", which are different times and places in the vastness that is the greater universe, called Halla. The main antagonist, Saint Dane, has the goal of throwing each of these territories into chaos by forcing them to go against their set timeline. Most of the time, he loses and moves on, but sometimes he succeeds and gets stronger. He views his losses as inevitable wins, as each fallen territory is like a domino effect.
Book four brings upon his first win.
He relies on the local traveler's knowledge of the world in order to trick her into programming a computer virus that is supposed to make people realize that the virtual utopia of "Life light" isn't perfect so they'll willingly leave their perfect worlds to keep their real world alive and functioning. However, Saint Dane's trick is that it straight up kills people before they can get out. The world falls and, is implied to have created a separate timeline and whole new territory in the form of Ibara, a distant future version of itself.
Travelers are not of the worlds they inhabit. They are, for all intents and purposes, gods that maintain order without having any personal effect on Halla. Saint Dane, being one of them that broke order and left, wants to watch it all burn so he can become the ultimate god. Aja is a traveler, and thus, by series logic, she's not supposed to have effect. She was never supposed to exist to create the virus (the reality bug).
Hence where people start screaming "PLOT HOLE!". And I have been guilty of that until recently.
Saint Dane has never been the kind of man to create problems. He just exacerbates them. In book three, he messes with the morality of the travelers by forcing them to leave the Hindenburg to its fate. The Hindenberg was supposed to explode. In book two, is one of the few times he gets as close to creating a problem for a while. Poisoning fertilizer that the ship-inhabiting people of Cloral need.
I believe that Saint Dane just pours gasoline on turning points to accelerate things. Like putting nitrous-oxide in a car to make it careen into a wall. It's the speed that makes it hard to turn things the right direction.
Ibara was always going to happen. Veelox was doomed from the get-go. Saint Dane, time and time again, puts down humanity by calling us selfish and self destructive. In The Quillan games he breaks Bobby down by telling him that it's just human nature to refuse change. The people of Veelox wouldn't want to leave Lifelight, why would they? They get to have perfect dreams forever until they die. Reality can be whatever they want.
The Reality Bug was just to speed things up. Forcing a slightly different version of Ibara to exist.
"What about Aja Killian helping with the creation of Rayne? If she removed herself from the equation, how could she have been there to help people build a better future?" I think that, alongside Saint Dane speeding up the inevitable, Aja was never supposed to be the person leading the charge, it was supposed to be someone else much later. She was forced to fill a role that would eventually be taken by someone else under different, but similar circumstances down the road.
The series has, in my opinion, never made itself quiet about its ideas of how important fate is. Even after the travelers are given the chance to either go back to being immortal spirits, or mortals, they just live normal, unexceptional lives. Like a tiny little bug in a much bigger program, a little quirk that in the end, changes pretty much nothing.
Anyway, if you made it this far, damn, I'm sorry you had to put up with my fan theory for a very, very small fandom lmao. But thank you.

Mandatory chapter 150 post, but it felt wrong to do another silly edit like I did for the last two...
So here's my take on this spread!
Tumblr media
After ultimately having achieved his big dream of living a normal life, Denji is now having to realize that it may have not been what he actually wanted. So far we've seen Denji's big dreams be twisted in a monkey's paw sorta way. Perhaps it may be because his dreams were too simple, and the hands of fate were telling him to dream bigger.
Because of the circumstances surrounding Denji's entire life till this point, he was never able to think about more complex topics. After all, he was just trying to survive. And now, after being trust into society head first, Denji's being confronted with problems more burdensome and complex than he ever has before.
Since being brought into civilization by Makima, Denji has had a strict set of rules and guidelines to follow. He was (most likely) taught that things are only black or white, right or wrong. He was taught the easiest and most uncomplicated structure of morality, and now he has to free himself from simple ideals he was taught in part 1.
Being Chainsaw Man provided Denji and escape from the moral confines of society. It was the one part in his life where he was truly free. But as much as Denji may enjoy being Chainsaw Man, it deprives him of his heart, his humanity.
But now, he no longer has Chainsaw Man to fall back onto.
For Denji to move on to bigger, better, and more selfish dreams, he has to learn that black and white cannot exist without the shades of grey in between.
He has to learn that he cannot only be Chainsaw Man, or only have a normal life. What Denji has to realize is that both sides of him can't exist without the other.
Denji has to learn to balance. Not only his normal life and being Chainsaw Man, but also his own self serving desires and those that can benefit nayuta. And ultimately, his own happiness and saving the world.
Balance is probably going to become a big theme in the upcoming arc(s). Not only for Denji but for Asa too. They'll have to learn how to work together, to balance each other out. But also on an individual level, they'll have to learn to balance. Both of their individual arcs, till this point, have been of self discovery and learning to be selfish. Now, they'll have to figure out how to balance all the new thoughts and feelings they have and channel them into defeating the death devil and stopping Nostradamus.

Lucas and Mike arc parallels and how that explains Mike in s4. (Long)
This is gonna be both a Mike analysis, a Lucas one, and a little bit of a Will analysis. But mostly Mike. We have a lot to unpack on Mike.
I’ve always, in a way, have found Lucas and Mike very alike. I would almost say the show is contrasting these two characters to each other in a way that makes the viewer know Mike’s fate because of Lucas’s arc.
Lucas & Mike contrasts
Let’s start in s3. Because this isn’t something new that’s sprouted in ONLY s4. Do we recall that in s3, Lucas is Mike’s romantic guide? And you might say “oh this JUST a silly little detail, it’s not THAT important.” When it’s bigger than that. Mike seeks Lucas and Lucas only when his relationship is in a bad place. He takes his advices even in s4 when Lucas isn’t there w him to guide him. If we recall Lucas’s line in s3 “Girls like pretty things”, and when Mike flew to cali what does he pick up for El? DING DING, Flowers!! Keeping Lucas’s advice true and still following them. Because he is guiding himself from what Lucas does (that works for him and max) and is keeping on these advices even when Lucas isn’t there. And why is that? Because Mike doesn’t have parents to look up to/ask these questions. Because let’s be honest, Karen and Ted wouldn’t answer. Because they ARENT in love, and Mike knows this. But Lucas? He is a DIRECT contrast to Mike in this, because his family isn’t perfect, but the love is THERE. It’s real, so Lucas CAN ask. Thus, Lucas KNOWS about relationships/how to approach these things, and that’s why Mike asks. He is the polar opposite to Lucas in his home life but the show doesn’t let you think about this because he (Mike) is worried on getting El a gift to win her back (letting viewers not think about why Mike relies on Lucas the whole of s3.)
Lucas wanting to fit in FOR society/Mike wanting to fit in FOR El parallels
So anyway, let’s skip to season 4. Lucas’s case is different from Mike’s here. Of course, Mike’s character arc IS about trying to fit in through s2-s3 (*cough* comphet). But he doesn’t mind appearing like a nerd INFRONT of others in s4, he doesn’t care. This is where his differences with Lucas are CLEAR, because Lucas does care! Because appearing a certain way for others will stop him (Lucas) from being bullied. But Mike does not do this, thus his “You forget, we don’t want to be popular.” comment in s4 when Lucas suggested that they be anything (popular) else than nerds in the eyes of others.
But that’s the thing, Mike cares if only El finds him cool. Keep in mind, both of them in their different ways, are doing the same thing. Lucas wants to be different/cool FOR society and Mike wants to be cool FOR el. And are we forgetting about what Lucas said at the end of s4 whilst realizing that wanting to be something your not is useless?
“I thought I wanted to be like you. Popular, normal.”
And that line could very much be used with Mike and Lucas. Mike wanting to be just like Lucas in some aspects (*drum roll* Liking women!! bc that’s where he wants to be like Lucas in!!) and realizing by the end (just like Lucas did) that that’s useless. So what is the end of Lucas’s character arc? Him accepting that being popular and trying to be something he’s not ISNT gonna get him anywhere. And who are we expecting this same character development from? Mike in s5.
Mike’s being apart from El but clinging on for symbolisms of Childhood & Will
But back to Mike, because his character didn’t reach comprehension and self awareness like s4 Lucas did (as it’s reserved for s5.) Anyway, Mike doesn’t care if others don’t find him cool. Because he feels like he ISNT enough as he is for El and ONLY her, no one else (And this isn’t “cute”, this is a deep insecurity problem of thinking the person won’t accept you for who you really are.)
But ever since El is gone, do u think he’ll try to be something that he’s not without the person that makes him feel like he has to in the first place? No. Because with her gone, he doesn’t have to hide anything anymore or suppress who he is in order to seem cool for her (respectfully, how do ppl find this “cute”?).
And the biggest proof for this is that he joins hellfire to seek for that part of him he thinks is LOST since he has kept it hidden for so long (when being w her.) He wants to reconnect w what he threw away in s3 (this is what i call character growth). The people that say that Mike joined hellfire FOR El are crazy. Because not only would that not make sense, but it’s the fact that we have never seen El and DND be associated in any way. So that could be only one or two things. Either be symbolism for Will, or be a symbolism on Mike’s happiness/nerdy side. But I think it’s both. Since as we know, Will’s whole character arc is about embracing being different. Being nerdy, if you may. (Keep in mind, this is exactly what mike’s trying to suppress.) We have been introduced this since s1 with both will and jonathan, just as we got introduced to Mike trying to be cool for El in s1 (him shutting up about his toys just because El seemed uninterested).
Lucas and Mike’s arcs being contrasted and Mike and Will’s being intertwined
Therefore, Mike and Will’s arcs are connected (either take this platonically or romantically, it works both ways) because their arcs are the opposite wholely. They are different through and through. And that’s exactly what makes them be intertwined.
And Lucas and Mike’s arcs are too!! For contrast!! The show is telling us what happened to Lucas when he wasn’t being true to himself, they are making us expect the same for Mike (that is more or less doing the same thing.)
Lucas being a role model for Mike in relationships and to help Mike w the stuff that helps HIM with max clearly is lacking. Obviously, this isn’t working w El, because just as Max isn’t El, El ISNT Max. Lucas told Mike in s3 about gifts, and he has kept on with that advice since forever. But that’s the thing, El doesn’t want acts of service, she wants him to say that he loves her. This contrasts Mike with Lucas AGAIN because Lucas’s advice is Mike’s form of hiding who he is as well.
Anywho, back to Will! He is a person that ommits everything Mike is feigning not to be. And by reconnecting with dnd (which Mike has claimed was childish in the past) I feel like Mike not only finds nostalgia and happiness in it but it reminds him of Will. Because Will isn’t seen suppressing being “childish” or rejecting dnd. He doesn’t take any shame in that. Because Will’s character arc is to be rewarded for this mentality of not sucking up to what people want him to be in s5! (And there is no way of doing this if he’s not ending up with Mike.)
And I would like to add, we know that people that have feigned to be someone/something they’re not in this series typically don’t end up well in this facade. Ex. El to Mike, Nancy to Steve, Dustin in the snowball, Robin to Vickie, and Lucas. <- So would we really expect for Mike, who has been paralleled to Lucas SINCE s3 to end up any different than Lucas did in the end of s4 when he realizes that not being yourself is worse than sucking up to what people want you to be? And how would we get Mike to end well or any different than any of these characters seen as he is following their SAME patterns? And if he is following their same patterns he is gonna have their same resolution : being exposed for who he truly is.
I also want to add that in 4x1 we see him letting go of these expectations and I feel like this explains why he joined the hellfire club, FOR CLOSURE to who he is (to breathe a little from acting a certain way) and for closure to a person (Will) that is the essence of everything he has been trying to suppress (childhood, feelings, growing up, being different etc.)
