Naruto Characters with a Clingy/Jealous S/O

I wanna include Kankuro somewhere so don’t mind me squeezing him in frfr. Also ofc, I gotta add Shino.

Sasuke Uchiha

He’s acting cool. He’s acting real cool. Dark and mysterious.

You’re throwing that off, but if you’ve got him wrapped around your finger, he can’t seem to bring himself to shake you off.

You’re like throwing off the dark and mysterious with your energy, so he’s gonna act indifferent, maybe even irritated.

Best believe that he clings onto you right back at home. I don’t take criticism on this take.

If you get jealous easy… good luck.

Now he’s not feeding in to these other girls minds that he could somehow care to look their way, but these girls STILL stare at him with heart eyes.

Cue him just walking away from them, telling you to come on already.

He’s not entertaining their bullshit, so you two can go where they will leave you both alone :)!

Shikamaru Nara

Complains, complains, complains again.

“What a drag” “you’re so troublesome”

He’s blushing though, don’t let him lie. It’s obvious.

He secretly finds comfort in your constant clinging. And the way you like to spend time with him. And be around him constantly. You must really like him. He’s secretly flattered.

He just can’t open up so he’s never gonna tell you that.

He’s not really the type that women are just falling at his feet, so you won’t have to worry about being jealous so much.

If a girl on a mission does get a little too close though, he WILL distance himself from her. Don’t worry.

He’ll complain if you step in for him to help get the girl away, but he’ll be grateful for the help (silently, bc out loud he’s saying he can handle it himself)

Kiba Inuzuka

I don’t know why people think Kiba is some player or fuck boy. So I want to go ahead and clarify, I don’t think he would be. I think he’s actually got nervous teen boy crushing energy, no matter his age.

He’s clinging to you too. Lmfao.

Literally you two are attached at the hip, arm, shoulder, whatever. Attached.

Akamaru is always with you two though, but who doesn’t love Akamaru?!

He gets jealous too.

You two are probably unbearable bc listen, hope for everybody’s sake you aren’t as jealous as he is.

If a man looks in your direction, he will whine for the rest of the night.

That being said, he is not accusing you of entertaining or doing anything, he’s just complaining about the guys audacity to even look in your direction.

Shino Aburame

DO NOT LET THIS MAN LIE TO YOU. He gets jealous.

Like petty kinda jealous. He’s a petty mf.

So you are not alone if you get jealous.

He’s also physically clingy behind closed doors, but ONLY behind closed doors.

He asks that you not hang off him like a koala in front of everybody, but he’ll perhaps hold your hand.

He’s clingy in a less physical way. He needs you to stay close to him most of the time, just be there. So if you like quality time, this the guy for you.

Back to jealously, this is the only reason I could ever foresee him being even a little toxic. He trusts you fully, but give a little bit too much attention to somebody and he’ll convince himself he’s like not your first choice and you forgot him like everybody else did.

So he’s more jealous than you, without a doubt in my mind.

Honestly, he takes time and effort to convince to settle down and get out of his own head.

Neji Hyuga

Not a PDA person. I think he might be willing to like hold hands. Accept a kiss on the cheek or something. But really, he wouldn’t be all TOO found of being literally clinged to.

However, he does like to have you around. So if you are just the clingy type in regards to being around them all the time, he’s okay with that.

He wants to be around you too.

He’s not the jealous type himself, and he probably won’t really notice that you’re jealous.

I don’t think he’d appreciate somebody other than you being all over him though, so you don’t have to worry much. He’ll tell a person straight up, no sugarcoating, to get away from him.

If you complain about somebody’s actions later, he’ll realize you were jealous. He’ll probably ask why if he told them off anyways. After a conversation, he’ll probably just reassure you that he will continue to tell people off.

Nobody touches him but you.

Rock Lee

HES SO MFING CLINGY

PHYSICALLY AND JUST IN GENERAL.

He talks about you all the time to everybody he can. He’s constantly telling people that you’re his partner. Bragging about you.

And since you’re clingy and he’s clingy, you’re probably right there by his side as he does this.

If for some reason, he doesn’t get a chance or remember to introduce you in some flamboyant, glamorous, extra way, and somebody tries to make a pass at him, he won’t notice they’re flirting unless it’s OBVIOUS.

So cue your jealously.

He would be the type to literally push somebody away and say some shit like “I’m flattered, but I have a gorgeous, amazing partner already.”

Sai Yamanaka

(I call him Sai Yamanaka bc it creates a bigger line for the name btw, he’s not married in this case)

He does not mind you constantly clinging to him or following him around. Not in the slightest.

That is because he likes you, so he wants to be around the person he likes, after all. (Sai, yall are dating. That’s obvious, you don’t have to say it)

He probably follows you around a lot because he thinks he’s supposed to. And also, he finds that he likes to be around you.

He might do something a book told him to, get too close to another person, paying no mind to any like reason it could be wrong. He didn’t mean it that way.

And since we’ve established you’re the jealous type, you’d have to explain to Sai that he can’t just get too close to other people like that.

Gaara of the Sand

He doesn’t mind the clinging, but he doesn’t have the time for it :/

When you can cling to him or follow him around without interfering with his focus and work, he’s perfectly okay with it.

And he’ll find himself wishing that when he’s busy, he wasn’t so you could be with him.

A lot of the girls in the village have a crush on him now that he’s kazekage, so you’re bound to be pretty jealous.

But Gaara doesn’t let these girls near him. He’s polite with them, but he’s not entertaining anything at ALL.

You don’t have to worry with him. He’s as loyal as can be.

At home, he’s clinging to you too. He’s touch starved.

And he loves to spend his free time with you.

Kankuro of the Sand

Cling to him in public like a koala. He’s not complaining. He’s BRAGGING.

PLEASE.

He’s the type to tease you about it, but if you break away from him because of it he’ll complain bc WHERE ARE YOU GOINGGG?

He would purposely make you jealous. Within reason. He will not disrespect your relationship to do so. But if he knows something simple could make you jealous, like giving too much attention to a stuffed animal, he will do it on purpose

“You wish this was you, huh?”

He’d like it if you wanted to just come sit in his workshop with him while he works on puppets. He’ll talk when he’s not like SUPER focused.

Naruto - He doesn't really understand why you want to squeeze his chest at first, but he's more than happy to let you! He gets weirdly shy about it when you show his chest a lot of attention, but not in a bad way. I think he would feel very pretty if you ever gave him some lingerie that accentuated his chest.

Kiba - He's more of a 'smack and pinch my butt' guy, but ultimately, at his core, he's a 'grope me anywhere and everywhere 😉' man.

Shino - You may massage his torso, but that is all. If he thinks you're too obsessed with any part of his body, he gets too shy to handle it.

Shikamaru - He will allow it if you ask, but he is judging you, and no he will not keep that to himself XD He kinda lives for the attention though, not that he'll admit that.

Lee - Confused, but supportive. He doesn't really understand why you want to touch him like that, until you do it, and then he gets shyyyy.

Sai - Ambivalent. If you ask for it, he's happy to let you do it while he gets on with other things.

Kakashi - Once he trusts you a lot, casual groping just becomes the norm, both ways. He's more than happy for you to give his chest a squeeze, as long as he's allowed to do the same to you 😉

Gai - Super down for it. He would definitely start an extra bit of training to bulk up his pectoral muscles, if he knew you liked it.

Minato - Bemused, but he considers it one of your quirks and accepts it with no issues. It doesn't really do anything for him, but he's not opposed to it.

Gaara - He's always deeply content when he can provide happiness for his loved ones. He doesn't quite understand what you get out of squeezing his chest, but you clearly get something good from it, so he's very indulgent. He's a caretaker at heart, and this classifies as caring for you in his opinion.

Kisame - Chuckles every time you ask, but waves his hand with a 'go ahead' movement. He ends up smirking, happy to watch you squeeze to your hearts content. He for sure has some immaculate tits, some of the best in the Narutoverse, hands down.

There are lots of others that would be okay with it every now and then, but these are the ones that will say yes more often than not. Apart from Shino, but I added him because I think his thing for massages is very sexy and also cute, lol.

Naruto Men Take Care of You While You're Sick: Gaara, Shino, Shisui, Kiba, Iruka, Lee

Heya friends. <3 I'm still feeling sick right now, so I decided to write some short, unedited drabbles about different Naruto guys taking care of their sick partner.

This is what I was asking for Naruto characters for, btw, so thank you for sending those in. <3

I haven't written for Shisui or Iruka before, so I hope I did them justice for those who asked for them.

Gaara looked around curiously as he walked in the door. Usually, you were at the door in less than thirty seconds, greeting Gaara with a hug and kiss. You helped him pull his Kazekage robes off, then led him to the dinner table while asking about his day.

But today, you were nowhere to be found. Frowning, Gaara stuck his head in the kitchen, then the living room, before finally making his way to your bedroom.

You were lying in bed, mostly hidden beneath a mountain of blankets. Your skin was flushed with fever, beads of sweat running down your head. You cracked open your eyes when you heard the door open, offering Gaara a faint smile. “Hey,” you whispered, your voice cracking.

“Hey,” Gaara said, walking over and pressing his hand against your forehead with a worried expression. “Are you ok?”

You coughed several times before you were able to croak out, “Not really.” You looked away. “I’m sorry I didn’t have dinner ready today.”

Gaara leaned down and gently kissed your forehead. “Don’t worry about it,” he said. “I’ll take care of everything tonight. You just rest and focus on getting better.”

You smiled faintly, closing your eyes as you savored his affection. “What would I do without you?”

He smiled back. “As long as I live, you’ll never have to find out.”

Shino Aburame (suggested by: @nnandmm-archived-hard)

Shino looked up as one of his beetles flew in a lazy circle around him, buzzing a message only he could understand. Immediately, he stopped what he was doing and followed the beetle into the kitchen. There, he found you, swaying in front of the refrigerator, looking at its contents without actually seeing them.

He got behind you just as you fell back, catching you in his strong arms. “Shino?” you asked, tilting your head back. “What are you doing here?”

“Catching you,” Shino replied. “The reason is, my insects told me you weren’t feeling well.”

You sighed. “They’re right. But I just need a little water, and I’ll be good to go.”

Shino wrapped his arm around you, pressing his fingers against your forehead. “You feel feverish,” he said. “Perhaps you should rest, and I will bring you the water.”

You pouted, but when you turned around, Shino’s worried expression made any arguments you would make die in your throat. “Ok,” you agreed.

Shino led you to the couch, covering you with blankets as you laid down. Once you were tucked in, Shino lifted your hand and gently kissed the back of your fingers. “I will be right back,” he promised. “You just rest now.”

You nodded. “Thank you, Shino.”

“Of course, my love.”

Shisui Uchiha (suggested by: @hashira-mal)

Shisui handed you a bowl of your favorite soup, watching you worriedly. You sipped from the spoon, trying to hold back your coughs. “Thanks, Shisui,” you whispered. “This is perfect.”

“I’m glad,” Shisui said, though his expression was still worried. “You really gave me a scare there.”

“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to,” you replied, smiling sheepishly. “I swear, I was feeling ok this morning.”

“All the more reason for you to rest now,” Shisui replied, pulling the blankets tighter around you.

You smiled at the comforting warmth. “You worry about me a lot, don’t you?”

He nodded. “I can’t help it,” he said, brushing stray strands of hair behind your ear. “I love you. I’m always going to worry about you.”

“Shisui…” you started to say. Then it turned into a series of coughs. Shisui immediately wrapped his arm around you, rubbing soothing circles into your back and whispering sweet nothings into your ear.

When they finally subsided, you leaned over, tucking your nose into the crook of his neck. “Thank you for being there for me.”

He smiled and pressed a kiss into your hair. “Of course.”

Kiba Inuzuka (suggested by: @princess-oriana-iantoya)

Kiba could smell you were sick as soon as he entered the house. He and Akamaru made a beeline for the bedroom, where they found you curled up on your side, a cold compress on your head and a glass of water on your nightstand.

“Hey there,” Kiba said, leaning down to look at you. “You doing ok?”

“Working on it,” you replied. “I feel like shit right now though.”

“Aww, poor thing,” Kiba said. He carefully touched your forehead. “Damn, you really are burning up. You need me to get you anything?”

“Can you cure this cold?” you asked. “That would be great.”

“Unfortunately, no, I’m not that good,” Kiba replied, laughing as he picked up your compress. “How about I replace this? It’s almost as hot as you are.”

You couldn’t help but laugh too. “Hot in a good or bad way?”

“You, in a good way,” Kiba said, kissing your cheek. “Akamaru, stay with her for a minute.”

Akamaru barked, wagging his tail. He crawled up on the bed and curled up next to you, resting his head on your chest. You smiled and scratched his ears, making his tail thump the mattress harder.

Kiba returned a minute later, replacing the icy cold compress on your head. Then he crawled in on your other side, holding you close. You sighed, nuzzling against his chest.

“Feeling better?” Kiba asked softly.

You smiled. ��Starting to.”

Iruka Umino (suggested by: anon)

Iruka noticed you weren’t feeling well as soon as you two met up. Your smile was less vibrant, your energy dulled. When he took your hand, your skin was warm, and you had long since stopped blushing in his presence, so the flushing was from another source.

“My dear, are you feeling all right?” Iruka asked.

“Hm? Oh, yeah, I’m fine,” you lied. “Just a little cold.”

Iruka frowned, then turned you both towards your apartment. “Let’s stay in tonight then,” he suggested. “I don’t want you to get worse on my watch.”

You pouted. “Aww, but Iruka…”

“Please,” he said. “I’ll worry about you otherwise.”

“All right,” you sighed. “You’re cleaning up after dinner though.”

Iruka laughed. “I’m fine with that.” He lifted your hand and kissed it. “Anything to make sure you’re well.”

You leaned against him as you returned home. He helped you over to the sofa and covered you with your softest blanket, then tucked a pillow under your head. He started to get up, but you caught his hand. “What is it, my love?” he asked, looking down at you. “Do you need something?”

You nodded. “Could you…hold me? Just for a minute?”

Iruka chuckled. “Of course.”

He carefully slid onto the sofa, pulling you close so you were spooning. You immediately relaxed, pressing back against his chest. “You’re so comfy, you know that?”

Iruka nuzzled into the crook of your neck. “Am I?”

“Mmhmm.”

“I’m glad to hear that.”

Rock Lee (suggested by: me <3)

Lee double checked everything on the tray. A bowl of your favorite soup, water, medicine, and your favorite treat were all presented and accounted for. Nodding to himself, he picked up the tray and brought it to where you were propped up in bed.

You smiled, slightly embarrassed. “Thank you so much, Lee,” you said. “I’m sorry to be so much trouble.”

“No trouble at all, my love,” Lee said as he set the tray down. “My only wish here is to see you get better.”

You blushed. Lee was always a sweetheart, no matter the day or what else was going on.

Lee carefully scooped up a spoonful of soup, then offered the spoon to you. You sipped the salty broth, closing your eyes as the warmth from the soup and his affection warmed you. A drop of soup splashed on your chin, and Lee hastily reached for a napkin. “I am so sorry, my love, it will not happen again!” he said as he wiped it off.

“It’s ok, Lee.” You caught his hand, holding it to your chest. “I appreciate you taking care of me.” You gently squeezed. “I love you.”

Lee relaxed a little, squeezing your hand back. “I love you too, my darling.”

Pocky Game with Konoha Men

Pairing: Naruto, Sasuke, Kiba, Shikamaru, Choji, Rock Lee, Neji, Shino x Reader

Tags: fluff, established relationship, kissing, teasing, cuteness overload

A/N: I'm one day late with this but I thought it would be really cute.

Naruto loves the pocky game and always looks forward to it when he notices you bought some. He's ready with a pocky stick in his mouth before you're even done unpacking the other groceries. His eyes sparkle with glee when you join him and slowly meet in the middle for a kiss.

Sasuke hated it when you started doing it. He didn't see the point of it so he would pull away before it was time and you'd always end up losing a piece of the pocky stick. It took you having to grab him by the shoulders and pull him into the kiss for him to realize why you love it so much. He likes it when your kisses are made even sweeter.

Kiba is always the one to buy the pocky sticks, but he buys them in a lot off different flavors so you two can try a little bit of everything and not get bored. He has to be careful when Akamaru is around though because he doesn't want his friend to get sick. So you batter help him make the pocky disappear.

Shikamaru will indulge you of course but it's nothing that special to him. If you want a kiss just ask him for one, no need to play these games. But at the same time he finds it very hard to say no to you when you're looking so damn cute and excited about it already. Fine, but only one.

Choji really, really likes the pocky game. It's not because of the sweets either despite what others may thing, he loves doing romantic things with you and the pocky game is a great excuse to be cute and romantic whenever the two of you want. He always buys his and yours favorite flavor and makes sure to carry some for date nights.

Rock Lee is always a little to fast and ends up breaking the stick in his haste to kiss you. He likes the game sure, but he'd rather get to the prize first and then enjoy the snack. A lot of pocky sticks have ended up on the floor because of this, you can't fault him when he's being cute about it and looking at you with one half still in his mouth.

Neji would get so flustered about it in the beginning. Especially if you offer him a pocky while you're sitting on a bench in the park or somewhere else where people might see. He would take it very, very slow to try not to break the stick before it was time and always have this overly concentrating look on his face too.

Shino is the one who offers you the pocky but only when you're at home alone. He sometimes teases you with it too, offering to share but then pulling away. He's not much of a tease but he knows how much you love pocky so he tries to prolong it a little when he can. It's not long before your lips are meeting in the middle though.

You’ve always been fascinated in how the most improbable and thrilling adventures happened to you out of all the people. And yes, even today as you were getting ready was no exception

You who were always the master of your destiny, it's as if something happened that day when you met him. Something out of your splendid reach

At this time, you left your village and your family to apply for the Hunter exam ( no joke I wrote Chünin 😂 )

You were peacefully running your first 80km in the first trial when you heard two young voices chuckling. You slightly picks up your pace to join them at their level

Once there you were kinda dumbfounded to see such young boys take part in an exam that is reputed to be so difficult. You watched them for a moment - with no ulterior motive like Hisoka - one dressed in green and carrying a fishing rod, and the other with white hair on a skateboard - ingenious but not flashy enough as running and showing off his stamina in tough times

Then your attention turned to the subject of their laughter. You smiled brightly when you saw your little mice running along. Many disappointing candidates had given up, but they were still as brave as ever

"How do simple smiles manage to run such a distance?" said the boy on the board.

"In any case, they certainly deserve their place" said the cheerful one

"Careful what you say they're not just mice" your voice boomed behind them, making both heads turn while you were still running "They're Shino Buff Mice but you can call them Ninjus" you said proudly. It was Tengen, your brother who insisted that you take the mice who work for him with you, just in case

"It's truly extraordinary !" the black haired boy spoke, sounding fascinated. And you didn't mind, at least someone appreciated the family's magnificence

"And how old are you, anyway ?" spoke to his comrade. You looked at him incredulously before giving him your age, almost equal to your long years of hard training ( let's just say you're an adult because Irumi is 24 😭 )

After that moment, you went on to befriend the two boys and the two others they'd met. You formed a fine team and everyone saw you more or less as a big sister to lean on. Frankly, you really enjoyed showing them what you were capable of and what you could contribute

The two boys were very fond of you, seeing in you a member of their family they hadn't known before

So it was without a second thought that you followed Gon, Leorio and Kurapika towards Kukuroo Mountain to rescue - well it's harsh but it's true - your friend from the clutches of his family

And not to brag, but it was easy enough to accomplish. At first he didn't want to let him go, but when Kirua's mother eventually recognized you, she decided to offer you a deal. It was simple, and from her point of view, it was like being served up to you on a silver platter

The deal was simple we'd let Kirua go with her friends on condition that you sign a promise of marriage with her eldest son, Irumi

Of course, he didn't know about it, and between you and me, he'd seen you during the exam. He liked you, of course, but you were taking up a lot of space with the way you behaved, and well, he was more the discrete type

But his mother was sure he would accept for the greater good of his family. After all, you were an Uzui, descended from a powerful ninja clan. You'd make a wonderful assassin for the Zoldyck family, and you and Irumi's offspring would help keep the family's prestige intact even after your generation

You accepted eagerly, it was a challenge that only the greatest could meet and face. So it was for you and also you found Irumi very handsome, his charm hiding a certain darkness that you enthusiastically wanted to get to know.

Kirua refused but you insisted before slipping into his ear that this way you could really become his big sister, bringing a shy smile on his face as he turned his head on the side "You're just so stupid" he mumbled

So when the big day arrived, you stood there proudly holding your brother's arm as he walked you down the aisle. In front of you stood the man who was to be your future husband. His dark blue suit subtly accentuated his muscular build, while the golden needles finely stitched into his jacket enhanced the look

Looking at you, he couldn't help but feel butterflies in his stomach. The way your white diamond dress with hints of violet gave you a sophisticated look. Like the way your corset hugged your chest perfectly down to your hips to mark your waist. Gosh you were gorgeous and he just wanted to be tonight. For someone who didn't really want to get married, he seemed very eager now

Your brother's manicured hands tightened on your waist as you both approached Irumi, and he gave him a dark look, meaning that if a disappointment were to happen, he would deeply regret it

Irumi looked unimpressed, at his threat

The ceremony went off without a hitch, despite the Tengen women crying their eyes out

Strangely enough, you both got on very quickly. You have more or less similar views of the world and especially of the fact that you are superior to many people

Though in the beginning you cringe him so much when you’re loud in public. He wants to disappear. He is seriously not used to this kind of display

Otherwise, you suited him. You were beautiful, stylish, classy, strong... His mother was right your descendants will have everything going for them

There was just one thing he still couldn't get used to yet... your exuberance

You are always too much. Even if you don't mean to. But you can't help being loud, laughing aloud, talking any way you like at the risk of hurting people's feelings, nit that you cared anyways. Because yes, you spent your time roasting everyone, even him

"No, for the umpteenth time, I'm not going to paint my nails" he sighed, trying to concentrate on his next target's file

"Seriously ?!? How can my husband be so unflamboyant !" you almost shouted, making him grit his teeth

His body language gave nothing away. He was like 🕴🏻 "Your word doesn't make any sense" he answered dryly. But deep down he was a little offended. Look at his long ebony locks and his unique outfit, he was flamboyant

"Yes, it does, look at me. I'm flamboyant. Look at you, you're not" you sassed

"Can you stop already" he grumbled

You two kept arguing. But as odd as it may seem, that's what keeps you going, unblocks complex situations and shows you that against all odds, one will always be there for the other

Shinoten Fankid: Susu Aburame

As promised, here's the Shinoten fankid! Her name is Susu Aburame!

(I'm going to ramble a bit now)

The name Susu (簌簌 - pronounced as Soo-soo) has chinese origins and its literal definition is "a very slight sound" and often means "a quiet person" according to the research I made. I chose it because of its repeating character "簌" (sù) as it follows Tenten's repeating character of 天 (Tian). I also just found it cute! It has an "S" like Shino and his father Shibi do, and it would be cool if they kept following that trend of including the letter S just for fun!

Susu's clothing resembles both of her parents, wearing a green cropped jacket and a traditional chinese pink qipao/cheongsam underneath. Using glasses was not exactly necessary since she's not a full Aburame, but she thinks they look awesome so she doesn't remove them often

Both of her two braids and bows resemble dragonflies, as their body is long and thin and their lower wings are bigger than the upper ones. (A common name I have seen to refer Shinoten as is "Dragonfly" and it makes a lot of sense, so I decided to include that symbolism because of it. It's super cute 🥹)

A bit more about her!

- She is 12 years old and in Boruto's class, meaning that her dad is her teacher!

- Susu is introverted and struggles with showing her emotions, so most of her classmates find her a bit creepy, but she is really trying her best to open up!

- She loves spring rolls and it's one of her favorite foods!

- Her body holds both kikaichu and kidaichu. It's capable of holding much more dangerous insects, but Shino wanted her to be safe and have a normal childhood 🤙

- Susu is great at sealing techniques and weaponry! Tenten taught her a lot about them!

-TenTen clings on to Sakura and Ino like a leech, she just wants friends.

-Lee is super sporty! Too bad he got a really bad injury that made him unable to do what he loves.. Hope this doesn’t make him *too* depressed!

-Does Gaara spare his siblings? We dont know. Will Naruto be able to save Gaara in this timeline? We dont know.

-‘Sensei’s like Kakashi are teachers or workers in shops

-Itachi does his best to keep Sasuke out of the spotlight. He likes when the attention is on him.

Because Amaterasu and Sesshōmaru don't have much further art at the moment, I decided to share another couple who are most dear to my heart. YCH by the lovely Antodonatella on Instagram & DeviantArt.

Keep in mind I will be talking about the FanFiction version of Ayumu in this post! The version of Ayumu I roleplay is her own separate deal! When her bio is done and put up on my Master Post, I won't only RP Ayumu interacting with exclusively Neji writers, lol.

Neji Hyūga is already a very recognizable character, being one of my very first crushes when I started really getting into anime as a thirteen to fourteen-year-old. In fact, he's the reason I later bought and read the manga... all hundred-heccin'-something volumes of it. Much like Sesshōmaru, it was his long hair, elegance, intellect, and stoic demeanor that won me over at first. It also amused me to watch him just be cool; he always felt like the definitive head of his team. Even if Lee wasn't to be sneezed at as a fighter, I saw more leadership qualities in Neji that Lee lacked. I also felt that he had the most interesting plight among the Konoha thirteen as someone from a branch in his clan where he was basically expected to serve and protect the head family deemed "above" him on the social-political totem pole the Hyūga were built on. Despite his innate talent rivaling the daughters of the clan's head at the time, he'd always be considered lesser because of his birth. In ways, he felt like more of an underdog to me than Naruto did—though that also has a lot to do with Naruto's characterization as the "optimistic headstrong protagonist" Kishimoto had going. (I kinda wish Kishi had leaned more into Naruto having some resentment towards the Leaf, but that's a post for another day)

So what'd teenage me do? Tailor an OC to be another half for him because GDI this man deserves happiness, not getting skewered like a redshirt on an overgrown splinter. If they had to have someone, ANYONE, sacrifice themself for Hinata... tbh, I wish it'd been someone on her team like Kiba or Shino, so we didn't have to basically do the thing he was "born to do" according to Clan tradition asfdhjrhyud—

Deep breaths. I'm calm. Suppress the fangirl rage.

So, as a result, I created Ayumu! Who was, by every definition, a Mary Sue at first!! (It was bad... oh god, was it bad...) But after I ditched her for a few years when I lost interest in Naruto, I returned to her when I turned seventeen and completely rehauled her. Leading to the designs she has now.

This is Ayumu's Part 1/Naruto Design. The Settei was done by a friend of mine on IG called Sento.OC, whom I commissioned.

Then, we have Ayumu's Part 2/Shippuden Design, also by Sento.

When designing an OC for Neji, I wanted to go more complimentary than contrary. It just didn't feel like it'd make sense for Neji to ever be romantically interested in someone with bombastic energy like Naruto or Lee—mans doesn't have the patience to live with that on a daily basis, LOL! So I thought, "Hey, Neji's a pretty traditional guy; why not give him a traditional woman?" and Ayumu ended up as a very grounded, calm, and analytical person. A bit more on the conservative side, similar to Neji. All the while having occasional bursts of warm, thoughtful moments where she lights up but doesn't explode. She's very, for lack of a better term off the top of my head, "normal" compared to Naruto's big personality, Sasuke's broodiness, Shikamaru's laziness, or Temari's ferocity. It's why I imagine her getting along very well with people like Tenten or Kakashi, too, who tend to be the metaphorical straight man to the more comedic characters around them. Characters like Gai and Lee and Naruto can only be funny, after all, if they're offset by some typically.

Ayumu is also a close-range fire-style specialist with a Kekkei Genkai related to it, so her style compliments Neji's pretty well imo. They can be in a shoulder-to-shoulder or back-to-back situation and cover one another while knowing the other is nearby and safely under their wing. Both characters have some insecurity and neglect issues but for very different reasons. However, this means they relate to one another over their feelings and traumas, and neither really feels a need to "fix" the other. It's what makes them last, in my opinion. They just quietly comfort each other (also slap whoever tries to put the other down, lol), and that's it. ...They did kinda try to scratch each other's eyes out at first, but that'll be its own post! Once they get over their big hurdle and understand each other, they end up just being a pair of supportive friends to lovers 90% of the time. The other 10% is them getting fucked with by the plot around them because Neji barely gets any screen time in Shippudennnnnnn! ;-;

Shino Aburame Relationship HCs

I love bug boy. I’ve had things in my drafts for him for so long.

If you listened to him when he spoke, instead of interrupting him or speaking over him without noticing, he’d feel appreciated.

However, he is still iffy on things, even then, for a while. Like if you say his name last, he’ll take it to heart even if the order of names wasn’t important.

But overtime, if you treat him like you see him, he’ll notice that.

And eventually, he falls for you. Probably before you really did for him, considering he’s a bit quiet.

If you’re quiet too, that’s okay. Things might just move slower.

But if you’re a bit or way more talkative, he’ll enjoy listening to you. He finds he doesn’t mind constant talking and rambling if it’s from you. He likes to listen to every detail and try to commit things he may need to know later to his memory.

Overtime, you’d find yourself falling for him. After all, once you get to know him you’ll realize he’s committed to protecting his friends and his bugs. And really he’s quite kind hearted.

Now it can be a little hard to be with him if you’re not willing to discuss bugs.

He won’t make you hold them if you don’t like them. In fact, if you’re afraid of them, he figures it may be best if you don’t handle them for their and your safety. Mostly theirs because they’re easy to hurt.

But you at least have to be willing to discuss and learn about bugs. After all, I hc him as autistic (I think he is 100% coded to be autistic. He’s a lot like me so I can totally see it) so that’s his special interest.

And Shino doesn’t easily see a point in engaging in a conversation not about his special interest.

He’ll find he’s willing to listen in about your interests (or special interests or hyperfixations) just because it’s you. And he wants to hear about you, and from you.

I think you’d have to be the one to ask him out.

So you do.

The relationship starts off slow. You’ll slowly get more from him, but he’s slow to open up, or to talk in general.

Most dates will be you talking, and him listening.

But you plan a date purposely centered around him, and at first he doesn’t notice, but soon you’re talking about his bugs and he starts to catch on.

You did a lot for him. And he feels special.

Really, the key to his heart is to see him. Make him feel special. Because he really is ❤️

You two garden together if you’re okay with getting your hands a little dirty.

He remembers your favorite flower from times like those when you tell him, and he’ll plant plenty for you. Even buy you some for the next date and special occasions.

He talks so highly of you.

Quiet dates usually.

Or dates where you both infodump.

He’d be perfectly okay with just existing in the same space quietly if you like that.

Eventually you’ll probably get to see his eyes! Don’t go around telling people what they look like though unless he’s told you that you can. More than likely, that’s more of between you two kind of thing.

If you’re a shinobi, he knows you can protect yourself, but he’d make sure he can cover your back well in anyway you could possibly need so he can protect you.

What would happen if they didn't even when the alpha waited with a broken heart, but what would happen if they returned just to see the alpha courting or being courted by others? A civilian alpha confesses to him just before he goes to war

Accepts the confession, but it's tinged with sadness. He accepts the feelings and gives the alpha a tender kiss, but he knows he might not return and that he can't promise to. He would want them to wait for him, but in the event that he doesn't come back, he makes them promise to move on and be happy: Gaara, Chouji, Haku, Yamato, Minato

He tells them to stop talking because it will only make things harder. He asks them to wait for him to return and then confess, once they both know they both made it out alive. Talking about feelings right now would be too much, it's not the time for that: Shikamaru, Shino, Neji, Itachi (non-massacre), Sai

lucas: benjamin, lucky, daisy, butch, shep, cherry! truthfully i think he loves dogs and would have a whole dog island. the ones listed are his absolute faves and the other spots he kind of just rotates as necessary until he finds a personality combo that he likes!!

So on our first watch of Naruto, Shippuden was already underway, so the husb and I opted to "skip filler episodes" as is the style sometimes. Consequently, I only last night watched the Bikochu arc episodes.

Shino is so badass! He's still awkward, for sure, but he's honestly owning it? Like yes, Naruto, you utter child, I will definitely make you go to bed at sunset, because this mission is about bugs, and I am Captain BugBoi, and we will eat, breathe, and sleep BugLyfe while I have anything to say about it.

I loved Hinata's training montages, though I had assumed the "beautiful naked woman at the waterfall in the moonlight" thing was pure fluff from a fanfic, but NO that made it on the air! I loved that Hinata got to be seen growing and training and develop her own jutsu distinct from Neji.

My recent Fixation™️ on Shino had me thinking about ideal partner traits for him, and I could actually see Hinata checking a lot of those boxes. Relates to terminal shyness. Comfortable enough around bugs. Comfortable with Shino's interpersonal mannerisms. Add in Shino's behavior in this episode wrt Hinata and Naruto...

In that light, his stern manner with Naruto starts to really look like envy of Hinata's attention, but he's not so selfish or dumb to not recognize what Hinata wants. He primarily wants Naruto's respect, for himself AND for Hinata. Like, if this wonderful girl insists on being obsessed with you, the least you can do is support and believe in her, you clueless idiot.

But ahh, the bitter sting of unrequited love. Casts another light on Shino's depressive talk leading up to Hinata's marriage. Still a man who drinks his Respect Women Juice, though.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

for a while i wrote a lot of "missing scene" wangxians where it's just like a moment or a handful of moments in the middle of the action, and i think all of them have implicit angsty endings: because they're just a missing scene, and there's no continuation, you understand that "having that conversation"/"kissing or almost kissing then" changes nothing in the greater arc... wei wuxian still gives jiang cheng his golden core, is still reviled and then killed... etc... but definitely the angstiest fic i've written remains flightless bird which cair read and then immediately blocked out of their mind forever

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

MOST Of my fics that aren't the above missing scene fics are happy endings. some faves include no other waters and to be a good companion, both post-tyk happy endings; at least in this lifetime, my most recent take on mdzs happy ending; a lot's gonna change, a wedding fic which was written in honor of most beloved friends mary + aubrey's actual real life wedding (and actual real life happy ending)

8. Do you get hate on fics?

not really lol probably once a year i'll get a rude comment that i immediately delete and go "? lol" about. i was NOT victimized by shino which >:/ okay... excluding me...

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you have written?

ive really only written one crossover (atlas: wangxian + hualian) which got it all out of my system. crossovers are hard to do well especially when all the things i'm into are in world structures that can't easily overlap

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

no fics "stolen" as in reposted wholesale (TO MY KNOWLEDGE?) but definitely i used to notice some plagiarism here and there when wangxian was really popping! mostly specific turns of phrase/passages but sometimes whole concepts. also one time i tweeted a funny hualian thread about hua cheng purring and then a couple days later i decided i want to whip it up into a fic and then like 3 hours after i posted the fic i went and checked the tag (these were the days that you could check the tag more than once a day) and someone had posted their own fic that was just beat-for-beat my original thread. uncredited obviously. lol

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

YES AND I ACTUALLY KEEP A CHERISHED SPREADSHEET OF ALL THE TRANSLATIONS!!!! like claire, mostly spanish/russian/chinese. most exciting tls for me personally are the persian and turkish ones

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

NO!!!!!!! I'M TOO UNRELIABLE AND OVERPROTECTIVE!!!!!!! every time zoë and miriam or fey and fer talk about how much they love co-writing i'm like omg. wish i were constitutionally capable of doing such an activity. but i'm not

14. What's your all time favorite ship?

THE SCHOONER WINDFALL OF OCRACOKE ISLAND!!!!!!!!! ROLL THE CLIP!!!!!!!!!!!!

no uhh idk passions come and go! once i get Particularly Into a ship i'll come back and read fics for it years later... every ship fills a different niche in my heart...

15. What is a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

(HUGE BOLD LETTERS) pacific rim wangxian au i miss you so bad

also inception au wenzhou fic but that feels more likely to be finished... maybe one day...

precision + beauty of language; i am really funny; i'm good at choreography

18. Thoughts of writing dialogue in another language in fics?

I LOVE IT!!!!!!!! i like it the most when i personally can understand it LMFAO but like really well-written bilingual writing where you DON'T have to speak the second language in order to get the gist of what's being said - either bc of elegant/subtle translation in the narration or bc of context - is sooo good and so hard to do well

OR i love lianzi's approach to translation in her shl chinese restaurant au (ONE OF THE FUNNIEST FICS OF ALL TIME) where some of the text is written in chinese and you hover over it for the english translation

19. First fandom you wrote for?

technically les mis but that doesn't count. jojo's bizarre adventure

20. Favorite fic you have written?

ummmmm mmmm hmmmmm hmmmmm. at any given time i mostly like my most recent fics the best but i do think our eyes on the road is particularly enduring - i love a lot of the landscape writing i did in that one, i think i captured the vibe of "late winter in new england" particularly well!

So it appears I know how to write but I do not know how to read haha. Thank you for letting me know.

I'm gonna copy paste my first answer so we get all five in one post!

It's a fic centred around Shikaku, Ionichi and Chouza's first Chuunin exam as kids. It's been over a year and I still really really wanna write more fics in this universe with them.

There are fic that I am maybe more emotional about, but it's one where I've never been like "okay this isn't optimal, but I'm gonna go with that" while writing. I'm really happy with how I could explore intergenerational relationships in Konoha, both on an interpersonal level, and on a political level with how quick the world has changed and how each generation has lived through extremely different times.

Also I don't often write fights and I had several here and I think they're good? I'm happy about them at least.

I think it's a fic from the moment where I was really starting to fall in love with bittersweet ambiences and mundane daily life (I have not changed since then). It's a KakaGai fic about Kakashi's routine after Gai's death and his state of mourning. I promise it's not that sad. I love it a lot.

It's a Blank Period NaruHina and SasuNaru fic that explores their respective relationships to family, love and home, as they try to figure out if and how they want to be/stay with one another.

I am very soft for Naruto wanting to be a dad.

This one hasn't always been easy to write but it's my biggest worldbuilding baby. Full of headcanons about Konohan legal structure and history, clan politics in Konoha and Suna, Kankurou's relationship to puppetry, Sand Family dynamics, Aburame clan history and traditions... Plus some sweet sweet uncle Kankurou and uncle Shino content and cute babies.

This series has done a lot for how my writing process and style and interests have evolved this past year and I'm very glad it did.

Honnestly it's hard to chose a fic from this series because I love all of them to pieces, and the current WIP might over take this one when it's done, I don't know, but yeah.

KankuShika modern AU, I got to write several scene about their respective relationshipd to gender and sexuality and queerness and coming out and I was very happy to get the space to do so much on that front.

I'm really loving writing the Sand Siblings dynamic in this series too, I think they have a great balance between struggling to make it work between them because they are very different and it's hard, but also genuinely wanting to put in the effort because they care deeply. Love them.

That's 5 this time! Most of my fics belong to series. They can usually be read independently (if not it'll be in the notes), but that means if you like anything you can usually find more to keep going afterwards haha
