It hurts me to see so many Tamlin defenders these days it's all so triggering for me.
My parents relationship is exactly like what happened with Feyre but only the fact that she never got the chance to get out and she's still stuck and now it's too late. I see Feyre in my mother everyday but I live in a country and community that doesn't care for women opinion and they're considered as being "dramatic", "over-reacting" and "selfish". Exactly the things they call Feyre.
My mother knew while they were engaged that this wouldn't end well but her parents didn't listen to her and they said you should marry him and fix him, bring him children he will be better... bc my father been through some traumatic stuff as well. (Honestly while I was reading acotar and acomaf, I find it a cruel joke) So that was the way to justify his actions. And bc my mother didn't wants us to hate him, she would say this to us as well that it's not his fault but we grow up and we realised this isn't normal as much as he wants to claim he's traumatised. (Sounds familiar?)
my mother gave and gave and gave but never received anything from him still receives nothing from him. And you know what he does to make her shut up and don't complain? He buys her things or for us. He used to pay for my grandparents treatment. Just like Tamlin who paid for Feyre's family to keep her were she is so she wouldn't leave him.
My mother can't go out without being questioned that where is she going, how long she's out, when will she come back? She doesn't have a job!!! And the fact that he's doing it to me and my sibling as well is also very disheartening... I can't go out with my friends without being questioned bc its dangerous outside and you don't know what's coming for you... (I'm being serious this is exactly his words)
And he never hit us or hurt us in physical way that is visible, he hits with his word how he degrade my mother and sometimes us. So no one really sees what we've been through no one believe us bc there's no evidence of it...
And knowing that ppl don't even consider Tamlin an abuser but just a misunderstood character and deserving better treatment from readers while the ppl around him suffered? Yeah... its feels like people are not seeing us just bc he's hot or have money or is powerful or whatever...
I wonder if someone tells them they're overreacting and being dramatic how they would feel? To not be seen and tell them "you're acting childish suck it up"? How would they feel?
And only bc you did some nice things doesn't make you less of an abuser we need to remind that to ourselves... (just bc tamlin help in a war HE CREATED (bc he thought Feyre was his trophy) and help Rhysand to live doesn't make him less of a shitty person that he is...)
ps: this is just my experience I know for a fact that a lot of ppl experienced worse than us. its okay if you ignore this but I only wanted to get this out somewhere that might some ppl see and rethink what they're saying...
First, I'm honored you shared your story with me and I am so sorry that both you and your mother are still in such a difficult situation. It's easy for someone on the outside looking in to say, "why doesn't she just leave already?" but anyone who has first hand experience of what she's going through (either because they have witnessed a love one going through it or they themselves have) know how difficult it can actually be to walk away. They might be struggling with years of their significant other chipping away at their self esteem to the point that they truly don't think they are worth more than the treatment they've gotten, they might be in a position where they can't set off on their own for financial reasons, they might fear for what the significant other might do if they were to leave. And I do understand why, as you are currently living this, it is triggering for you to see people romanticize Tamlin or explain away his behaviors as "he was struggling so he couldn't help himself." Of course he was struggling however, that never gives someone the right to take their struggles out on others. I don't think we'll ever be able to stop those who are fans of the Justice for Tamlin rhetoric but hopefully you take some comfort in knowing that the author herself has been vocal about how wrong Tamlin's behavior was. Others can interpret the text however they want but at the end of the day, SJM, the creator of his character has told us that he is a toxic male, that the High Lord of Spring is a "douche" and I think that's all that should matter to you. You feel his behaviors were not acceptable and the one who wrote him agrees. I'm not necessarily opposed to seeing Tamlin begin to heal but I personally don't think he's redeemed himself at all at this point and I have no interest in seeing him fall in love again, regardless of his one "heroic" gesture in the war. He still physically assaulted his friend afterwards and threw Lucien's clothes on his front door. A year after the war and he's still making no effort to try and be the High Lord his people need. It's not that someone who was abusive doesn't deserve the opportunity to better themselves but I don't think they deserve forgiveness until there are actual steps being taken to actually better themselves. Since Tamlin still, as of SF, has not made any progress in the right direction, I understand why it's frustrating when excuses are being made for his behavior. Again, I am so sorry that you and your family are going through this. Growing up in that situation often effects our own relationships and self esteem and I hate that you have become a victim in something you never had any say in. Sending you lots of love ❤️

BOOK RANT: What Lies Beyond the Veil. By Harper L. Woods
Let me start by saying everyday my hate for Booktok grows as people continue to wrongfully advertise the most terrible books. I usually have good success in the beginning as most of the books I read last year were recommendations. However, things have gotten overly saturated and often enough I find people marketing books I’m a dishonest way. And that’s where What Lies Beyond The Veil lands. Originally this book was marketed for those who like when the bad guy gets the girl. I believe it was marketed for those who rooted for Farrah and Rhysand from the beginning (for all the ACOTAR fans). Along with the morally gray love interest it was also labeled as a very spicy novel. What else could a girl ask for?
The problem is the book does have the bad guy get the girl…. but not in a way that anyone should want. Here is my warning for those who still want to read the book, there will be spoilers. Now the book does a good job of setting up the rest of the series and the ending would’ve been motivating enough if I hadn’t been lied to. Who knows, I might’ve somewhat enjoyed it.
To start off we are introduced to Estrella and her brother Brann. It’s just them and their mother, as their father was killed years ago. He was sacrificed to the gods by their town. Essentially every year their priest sacrifices someone at the end of the harvesting period in order to keep the veil up.
The Veil separates the human from the Fae.
With the death of their father it left their already poor family even worse off because their mother is unfortunately disabled. Estrella and Brann work in the fields in order to try to make whatever little they can. Their town is run by the Lord Byron who is married to the king's cousin. (I believe, someone related at the minimum.) The problem is the wife is dying, and Byron has his eyes set on Estrella. TRIGGER WARNING FROM HERE ON OUT. Lord Bryon basically AS the crap out of Estrella without ever going the full way as he still wants to preserve her virginity. (She’s not actually a virgin but truthfully that doesn’t matter here. That man lasts just a few chapters and he dies. Sorry) Bryon wants to marry her as soon as possible as she has been picked to be this year's sacrifice. He believes by poisoning his wife and announcing his intent to marry Estrella she would be saved. Truly one of the best things about her is she stands up for herself, she decides she RATHER DIE. On the day of the sacrifice the veil calls out to her, without thinking she reaches out to the veil and it breaks open! Now humans are being marked.
Marked? Yes marked, it’s basically a sign that your soul mate is a fae. Not all humans have a fae mate but the stories that are told say that if you are marked you go a little crazy and become a slave to the Fae. (I think. It’s not worth looking up the lore. Just go with it)
Guys I gotta be honest. This part of the book was soo good. I was hooked. And then it goes absolutely downhill from here.
Brann and Estrella run off into the woods hiding from the humans hunting her because she is marked and the Fae hunters who are also after her. As of course it turns out she’s special.
While on the run, they encounter Fae Guards and unfortunately Brann dies. Estrella is heartbroken but she is rescued by another marked human. Caelum. From the very beginning lays it on thickkk. There’s no denying she has this strong connection to him but his problem is he’s pushy. We are suppose to like Caelum because he keeps telling her he won’t do anything without her permission, and yes that’s such a change of pace in comparison to the R*pists in her town but is it really consensual if it was all under false pretense????
There’s things that happen in the middle but really those details do not matter because the big ending reveals that Caelum is not human at all but the Dark Lord Fae who is her mate.
A few chapters leading up to the end, Caelum is extremely possessive about her and truly sexualizes her from the very beginning. I don’t think they ever had a genuine conversation where he did not bring up the fact that he was gonna do the living crap out of her once she finally let him. The poor woman just lost her entire family, is on the run from literally everyone, and he’s the only person keeping her alive. She thinks she is choosing a human over her Fae mate. She thinks she’s finally making a choice that no one else has control over. She thinks she’s making a stand on her body. And so they do finally have sex. (A lot of times). But don’t you remember??? He’s lying. She made those choices under his lies. That all sounds a lot like sexual coercion… which is R*pe. And yet the trigger warning in the beginning of the book said none of the ass* ults are at the hands of the male lead. The entire last couple chapters is Estrella getting ass*ulted unknowingly.
This was not a story about the bad guy winning her heart in the end. This was a story about a bad guy manipulating and lying his way to link the Fae Bond.
There’s no way I will continue this series. If anyone else read this book what are your thoughts?? Am I crazy for this???
Thanks for reading ❤️

Pinky Promise - Prologue
A/N: Here it is, finally! I know you all have waited literally less than 24 hours for this, but still:) Like I said yesterday, this is mainly Nessian, but considering it’s a multichapter fic it’ll have others couples too, obviously. Some might not be your favorites and the beginning of the fic is kinda tough for this reason, but I hope it’s worth waiting. + I don’t know if any of you read Crescent City, but if you did, expect this first part to be like the first hundred pages of the book, it’s just info-dump. I’ll leave you to the chapter now.
Uh and p.s. thanks to all of you who commented and started following me. I feel loved tbh, I appreciate each and every one of you darlings

Nesta had just stepped outside the classroom when a cramp slightly more painful than the others made her hold her breath. She stopped in the middle of the hallway, apologizing to one of the girls who was attending the course with her when she bumped into Nesta, waiting for the pain to end and for her to continue walking without feeling as if her stomach were opening up from the inside. She took three deep breaths and walked towards the exit.
Cassian should have been out by now and if he wasn't there Nesta would have made him pay for it. He knew she had her period and he knew she hated waiting, so it would be wise of him to be on the street as soon as she reached the gates.
She huffed, rubbing her hand over her face, and squinted when she saw her boyfriend's green military Jeep parked just outside the university gardens. She lowered her head, clutching her jacket and protecting herself from the winter cold of Velaris. She speeded past when lightning struck the sky and found herself in the parking lot.
Azriel and Cassian were talking animatedly about something, probably sport, Nesta thought, seeing how they were both excited and by the gestures they made, but as soon as Cassian saw her, his face lit up and he smiled at her, interrupting whatever he was doing. He went up to her, "Hi sweetheart." He put his hands on her face and pulled her towards him, kissing her before Nesta could return the greeting. She closed her eyes, keeping her hands in her pocket but rejoicing at that touch. When Cassian broke away looking at her with that cocky smile on his face, Nesta had her eyes closed and her forehead wrinkled.
Cassian frowned, "What is it?" he asked her, taking the bag from her shoulder and turning towards the trunk. Normally she wouldn't let him take the bag, she could do it very well on her own, but she was too tired and sore to even bicker over these little things. Cassian must have noticed it too, because looking at Azriel on the other side of the car he made him understand that he wanted to talk to her for a moment. The older waved to Nesta and she barely had time to give him a small smile before he disappeared in the back of the car.
She looked up just in time to see Cassian approaching again as he wrapped her in his arms, holding her to his chest. This time she took her hands out of her pockets to hug him in turn. She heard him take a deep breath, "Rough day?" he murmured in her hair, where he left a kiss a few seconds later. Nesta nodded, muttering something in his chest. "Hmm," he said looking at her with distrustful eyes, "Can you hold on for a few more minutes before I take you home or?"
Nesta broke away, walking toward the passenger seat, Cassian had already got in and was starting the car when she sat down and her feet cried out in relief that she no longer had to stand. "Why? Do you have to pick up Rhysand?"
She heard Azriel snort, "When are you going to start calling him Rhys?"
Nesta turned just enough to show the determined expression on her face. "When those two stupid siblings of ours decide to cut the bullshit and get together."
"Touché."
Cassian turned left. "Yes, his car is at the mechanic's and with the bus strike he doesn't know how to come back." he answered her initial question. He glanced at her sideways when she yawned, resting her head on the window. "But if you're too tired I can drop you off and then go get him."
"Nono, don't worry. It's okay." Nesta murmured, remembering something else, "I should also stop by Elain's store to pick up some things, if you don't mind..." she grunted in pain when another cramp twisted her stomach. Azriel leaned forward between the two seats, "Are you alright?"
Cassian shook his head, "I'm taking you home. We'll stop by Ellie's, don't worry."
"I said it's okay, I can handle it." she gave him a withering look and when he put the blinker on to turn right, towards her apartment, she moved to remove it.
Cassian was about to retaliate and say that she shouldn't touch the steering wheel when he's driving, but Azriel interfered before they could start arguing.
"There's no problem, we can go to Elain's and take everything," he said in a calm and gentle tone. This only made Nesta angrier, who turned to Azriel with a murderous look. "I said I can handle it, stop treating me as if I were on the verge of death".
Her boyfriend puffed, changing gears. "You're not on the verge of death and I'm sure you could survive an extra hour or so, but don't you think going home and taking a hot shower and relaxing is better than having to stay out here in the cold with the three of us?" he gave her a sly smile when he saw Nesta stiffening up to the idea of a hot bath. "Think carefully before you answer."
Nesta whispered a "fine" under her breath and a few minutes later Cassian was approaching the Archeron apartment. She got out and took her things, before leaning into the car and leaving a peck on Cassian's lips.
Her boyfriend gave her a soft smile, before raising his hand and pulling up only his right pinky. Nesta shook her head chuckling, intertwining her pinky with his.
"See you in a little while, sweetheart." Nesta nodded, caressing his arm.
"Bye babe, bye Az." she couldn't stop herself before realizing they had company. She wasn't used to being so numb with pain and it never happened that she called Cassian babe in front of other people, much less their family.
Azriel's eyes opened wide. "Babe? That's new." he got out of the car to get into the front seat and Cassian punched him in the shoulder. "Fuck off Az- take care." he said finally turning to Nesta, before rushing to the elementary school where Rhysand worked.
Opening the door of the building she remembered something important. She cursed under her breath and rumbled in her purse looking for her cell phone as she entered the elevator. She quickly dialed Elain's number and only after two rings did her sister answer:
"Hey Nesta!" she seemed as happy as ever, "What's up?"
"Cassian and Azriel should come by to pick up the package that arrived yesterday, under no circumstances should Cassian see the sender so can you please tear out any evidence on the box?" she heard muffled noises and then Elain said goodbye to a customer. "Sorry to interrupt you while you're working, but it's really important."
"Uh, don't worry, it's pretty calm today." she said cheerfully. "Is it the book?"
Nesta nodded, opening the door to the appartment, realizing later that her sister couldn't see her, "Yes, it's the book and it would be better if he didn't shake the box too much, I have the feeling that that thing is twelve thousand years old and could disintegrate at any moment." Elain giggled.
"Sure, I'll erase every address and name, I've got this."
"Thank you."
They talked a little bit more about what they were going to do that night and after another five minutes on the phone Nesta was finally alone and at peace in the quiet of her room while taking off her skinny jeans and sweaty t-shirt and getting ready for a hot bath.
As soon as she was immersed in the water, with bubbles bursting around her ears and a glass of red wine in one hand, she started thinking about how she was going to ask Cassian to move in together.
They had met in high school, when her family had moved in after her mother's death. It had taken her months before she started talking to anyone at school and one day, because of something that had happened with Feyre, she arrived late and the only free seat had been next to Azriel. She liked him right away, he was quiet and never asked her anything, not even what her name was, but they exchanged that embarrassed smile between friends-not-friends when they met in the hallway. Cassian had never really spoke to her either, but she knew that he was Azriel's friend and he usually joined them when they studied together during the breaks.
I wasn’t long before they all became great friends.
One day, during the second year, Azriel told her that there would be a party and that if she wanted she could come. Nesta had obviously refused.
With the economic condition they were in, it was already a lot if they could buy a new pair of shoes for Feyre every year, who was still growing up, and she certainly wouldn't know what to wear.
Azriel hadn't given up, however, and invited her to whatever party he went to, not as if they were dating, but as a friend would have done. Little by little they began to go out together. Relatively calm things: movies, dinners at the various fast food restaurants Velaris offered and sometimes they went for hikes in the mountains with Rhysand, who had just started high school. Most of the time Cassian would go with them, especially during the study sessions, but instead of studying he acted as a disturber and it took Nesta a long time before she realized how much she really liked that character.
How good he was inside and the things he would do for those he loved. He was to be admired, a boy so young, who had lost as much as she had, if not more, but who faced everyday life with that silly smile on his face.
During the middle of the fourth year, Azriel stood her up at the last minute because something had happened with Rhysand, and he had to run to help. Cassian, who was already with her that day, decided to stay, thinking Azriel was more than capable of helping Rhysand on his own, and invited her to eat something. Nothing serious, a dinner between friends. While they were about to pay, at the end of the evening, Nesta received a call from the hospital.
Her father had had a heart attack and died.
It had been Feyre who had found him coming back from an evening out with Elain, only 13 years old, as she had found their mother's body almost five years earlier. Nesta had panicked and the only thing that hadn't completely driven her insane that night was Cassian's presence.
He took her to the hospital and stayed with her every step of the way, every procedure, every signature and every document.
Both he and Azriel helped the sisters throughout the long custody trial of Elain and Feyre and they were there when Nesta became the legal tutor of the two minors when she turned 18. Even Rhysand, although he was only 16 at the time and couldn't help much, was very close to the Archeron family.
It was only after spending almost a year trying to find a way to continue living with the weight on her shoulders that she realized that without Cassian she would’ve never been able to get through something like this.
Nesta had started working immediately after the death of her father, continuing her studies anyway, and very often Cassian acted as her driver, taking her from one place to another. He also gifted her with many movie nights and occasionally went shopping for her and her sisters.
She knew he was doing this because he understood what it was like to not have enough food in the house to feed the rest of the family.
She had known for a long time that the boy was lost in her: she saw it in the way he looked at her, in the way he protected her every time Tomas passed by, knowing exactly what had happened during the third year, she knew it from the way he presented her to others, as a strong and independent woman, proud to be his friend. And yet, although they both knew about the strong feelings between the two of them, no one ever acted on it.
They danced in this limbo between friendship and love and when one day Cassian brought a girl home, Nesta exploded. For hours, they were at each other's throats, screaming things they didn't really mean, driven by anger towards the other but also towards themselves.
They got together immediately afterwards.
They did not need a trial period to see if it would ruin what they already had. It would never happen and they knew it too well. Nothing could've broken that bubble of theirs. Nothing.
They had been together for six years now and the only reason they still didn't live together was that Nesta didn't want to leave Feyre alone while she was still studying. She was going to let Feyre get her degree and find a steady job to support her before she moved out so that her little sister could focus on studying. But now it was only a few months away, and then they would both be free from college. Feyre would get her painting degree and Nesta would finish her master's degree in aerospace engineering, quit that stupid job as a salesgirl and find a job in one of Prythian Space Agency's research labs.
And above all, Nesta couldn't wait to finally go live with the love of her life.
***
Cassian had just parked in front of Rhysand's school when the sky split apart and the rain started coming down like it was the apocalypse day. He squeezed the steering wheel so tight that his knuckles turned white and leaned his head on the horn, making Azriel jump next to him. He closed his eyes sighing.
"You haven't told her yet, have you?" his brother whispered, as if he were almost afraid to ask.
Cassian laughed, but there was no trace of amusement in that sound. He turned his head toward Azriel just in time to see Rhysand swoop into the back seat, completely soaked from head to toe, with a shocked expression on his face.
Azriel waved and Rhysand sat down better, closing the door with force. "Hello beautiful," he said with his charmer act. "What have you got for me? How were your days?"
Azriel waited to answer, wanting to know first what Cassian was going to do with all the shit he was in. Rhysand must have realized what the atmosphere was because the smile died on his lips and he leaned forward, "What were you talking about before I arrived?" he asked with a hint of concern in his voice. Cassian looked over his shoulder and sighed again, this time more loudly.
"The bigass elephant in mine and Nesta's room."
"Uh-oh." said Rhys.
"Yeah, uh-oh."
"Haven't you told her yet?" asked the youngest.
Cassian shook his head, keeping his eyes fixed on the road and contracting his jaw, "We're still together, or not? So I'd say no, I haven't told her."
Azriel scratched his cheek, avoiding looking directly at him. "When are you going to do it?"
"I was thinking of doing it tonight, after dinner, but seeing that she's not doing so well, I guess I'll have to take a rain check." he turned into the street of Elain's store.
"Don't you think it's risky?" Azriel continued to ask. "I don't say the thing itself, but waiting so long to tell her. We all know Nesta, she’ll need a lot of time to accept it. You can't just drop the bomb and then run away."
In other circumstances he would have laughed at that rough joke, but he wasn't in the mood at all. The fact that he would have left Nesta to enlist and probably go and drop bombs in war territories was not a prospect he particularly liked.
"I'll find a way to do it without breaking her heart and give her time to accept it, don't worry".
"Wait," Rhys stopped him. He turned off the car directly in front of the flower shop and saw Azriel turn toward the entrance with a lost smile on his lips. Cassian scoffed, shifting his gaze in front of him again.
The Archeron sisters and their fucking perfect personalities.
"Are you going to break up with Nesta?" concluded Rhysand looking at him through the rearview mirror with a serious look.
Cassian turned around with a bewildered expression on his face, "God, no! What's wrong with you?" Azriel had also recovered from his short circuit called Elain and looked at the two brothers with his mouth slightly wide open.
Rhys raised his hands in defense, "Sorry, I misunderstood."
Cassian could hardly believe that Rhysand had thought such a thing. They remained silent watching the raindrops hit the glass when someone knocked hard on Azriel's window and all three of them jerked in fear. The figure outside the car moved and opened Rhysand's door as they got in.
“Hey guys.” Elain had a radiant smile on her face and seemed to be illuminated with her own light. Azriel had turned around so quickly on the seat that Cassian wondered how he hadn't broken his neck or pelvis. Rhysand leaned forward to give her a quick hug.
It didn't take Elain more than three seconds to realize that something was wrong, "Are you alright?" she asked worried, putting her hand on Azriel's seat. "You have such long faces," she said.
Rhys burst out laughing, "We're fine, don't worry."
Elain smiled at him, "Okay perfect, because Nesta and I have planned a pretty good night and when, not if, you get drunk I wouldn't want to have to comfort you because you're sad."
Cassian turned around at that point, with a lopsided smile, so that she wouldn't doubt their moods. "I like this idea."
"Good." said Elain with a smile on her face. She pointed to the store behind her and gestured with one hand, "I could use a strong pair of arms to take out some boxes for Feyre and Nesta and some vases. They're not big, but they weigh more than me and it's pouring down, I wouldn't want to trip and die because of the cyclamens."
Before anyone else could answer Azriel was already outside the car and inside the store.
Cassian and Rhysand laughed as Elain blushed. She got out of the car following their brother.
"Holy moly, those two are crushing so bad," whispered Rhys as he looked toward the entrance.
Cassian opened his eyes wide, bursting out laughing. The younger brother turned to him, confused. "What are you laughing at?
"Nothing at all.” Cassian ran his hand over his eyes, actually smiling, "I'm just thinking about how stupid you and Az are."
Rhys looked at him badly in the mirror, "We're not stupid." then he crossed his arms over his chest, leaning against the seat and looking up. "You know very well why neither of us has been able to take a step forward yet," he paused briefly, "At least I, am not going to do anything until she decides to leave Tamlin willingly."
Cassian nodded with a serious expression this time, knowing exactly how the conversation would continue if he answered verbally. They talked about Feyre so often, about her relationship with Tamlin, that Cassian seemed to have learned a script to recite every time.
He looked out the window, watching Azriel laughing with Elain. Probably the brother in the worst situation was him.
Elain and Lucien had been together forever. Cassian had met little Ellie when she was still only 14 years old and they had been together for a year already. It was a special relationship, theirs.
When they had started the second year of high school they had decided to break up after almost four years, considering it the best thing to do. After all, theirs was what you might call a childish love. They had been apart for a few months, but when the girls' father had died, Lucien and Tamlin had been very supportive of the younger sisters. More than everyone in their group liked to admit.
Cassian and Azriel had already met all three sisters when the misfortune happened and it didn't take Rhysand long to build a solid relationship with both of the younger two.
When Elain announced that they were back together, Azriel realized that it affected him far more than necessary. By now he had been stuck in his role as the world's “bestest” friend - as Elain liked to call him - for seven years.
He had had other girlfriends over time, but never anything serious and none of them had ever managed to make him really fall in love. It was also very complicated to describe the kind of relationship those two had. Lucien was always ready to pull him into the middle of their quarrels and Elain systematically went to Azriel crying, telling him that Lucien did not understand that their relationship was much more like that of two siblings.
The first time Azriel had spoken to Cassian about it, almost two years after Mr. Archeron's death, he had burst out laughing. His brother had remained silent for years in the friendzone while Cassian lived his best life with Nesta.
When it came to Rhysand and Feyre it was a whole different story.
When they met, Feyre was already very close to Tamlin. Hanging out only with her older sister and her boyfriend, it seemed natural that she and Tamlin would end up together, but Rhysand was still shocked when one day she came home, during her fourth year of high school, followed by him, and reintroduced him to everyone as her boyfriend.
The thing that no one could understand was how they could still be together after all these years.
Cassian knew from Nesta and Rhysand that the first years of their relationship were all peaches and cream. They seemed like the perfect couple. Tamlin's family had also helped Feyre with her college tuition, getting her into the Academy of Fine Arts supervised by one of his father's many friends.
They had been together for five years now and the only thing everyone was sure of was that when an Archeron sister gave her heart to someone, she would never ask for it back.
Cassian knew how much the overall situation weighed on both his brothers, but you can't control your heart and he couldn't advise anything else but to wait.
Azriel got back in the car alone and when Cassian turned to him to ask him where Elain was, he seemed upset.
"Everything alright?" he asked cautiously.
"I'm not going to talk about it."
Cassian exchanged a confused look with Rhysand through the mirror and when Elain got into the car looking just as upset, they fell silent.
Cassian sighed and held the steering wheel tighter. The evening was going to be interesting.
The ringing of a phone echoed in the cockpit.
"Mor and Amren are already at Nesta's -" said Rhys, "it seems they've already opened the wine."
Elain snorted, looking out the window with a severe glare. "Good, because we're going to need a lot of it tonight."
"A lot." Azriel repeated gritting his teeth, frowning even more.
Definitely interesting.

Feysand Holiday Fluff Fest - Day 29
We’re not ready to tell, yet
Prompt: our friends rent a cabin to go skiing and we’re the only ones who stay inside - 1,1k words
Tumblr media
Why they hadn’t cancelled the trip was beyond her.
Mor, Cassian, Azriel and Amren had decided they would rent a cabin to spend the week between Christmas and the New Year. Go skiing by day, drink a lot of booze by night, all of it in a place with no cell reception and no internet. The perfect vacation, and Rhys and her had agreed to go. Four months ago.
And now they were here, and Feyre was deeply regretting her decision. Of course, they hadn’t known at the time. How could have they known, when the small human being currently growing inside her wasn’t even conceived, then?
They had taken the most important decision of their life a cold September evening, curled up together in bed, talking all night about pregnancy and nurseries and saving money for schools. And they had started trying a few days later, after a doctor appointment assuring them that all was well. She remembered the first night they had made love after that, about Rhys brushing his fingers on her belly, and her telling him to not get his hopes up because it would probably take them months and months of trying before they could get pregnant.
The irony.
Because now she was five weeks pregnant, and she was vomiting her breakfast in the cabin’s toilet, Rhys sitting behind her and rubbing her back gently. And he was considerate enough to not tell her what she knew he was dying to say: “I told you we should have cancelled.”
He had spent the last two weeks trying to convince her, and she had refused to cancel, telling him time and time again that she wouldn’t let this pregnancy affect her life. Of course, her morning sickness had decided to start the first morning of the trip.
“Guys, you okay in there?” Mor’s voice sounded from outside the bathroom, and the only response Feyre could give her was to vomit again. Rhys waited for her to be done before he spoke.
“Mor, Feyre is feeling bad, I don’t think we’ll come out today.”
“Seriously? What do you think it is? Do you need anything?”
“No it’s fine, it’s probably just a bug. I have meds in my bag, don’t worry. We’ll see you guys for dinner?”
“Okay, then. Take care, Feyre.”
“We love you, Feyre!” She heard Cassian shout from afar, and she couldn't restrain a chuckle. Then there was a lot of commotion in the living room, the voice of their family leaving for the day, before they were alone.
Her sickness receded after a while, and she rested her back against Rhysand’s chest, exhausted. She felt his hand delicately bring a cloth to her face to wipe her mouth, and then a different one to pat her forehead and help her freshen up a bit. All the while, she kept her eyes closed. Finally, he was done, and he wrapped his arms around her body.
“You can say it, you know,” she said in a weak voice.
“What?”
“That you were right. That we should’ve stayed home like you told me.”
He chuckled against her back before answering. “Feyre, you couldn’t have known you were gonna feel sick just this week. Do you want to go back to bed?”
She thought for a minute. “No. But I would like to get out of the bathroom.”
“Couch?”
She nodded, and he helped her get up on her feet. A moment later, she was sitting cross-legged on the couch, watching him as he put water in the kettle and started to make some tea. The cabin was gorgeous, cozy with the many blankets that had been laid around by everyone, and the Christmas tree in a corner. Looking at that place, Feyre didn’t regret coming up here. The timing just wasn’t right.
“Rhys.”
“Mmh?”
“How are we going to avoid telling them if I’m sick every day? We can’t make up a lot of excuses, and morning sickness is a pretty obvious sign.”
He turned to her, and seeing his eyes, she knew he’d been thinking the same thing. “I don’t know. I didn’t think you would get symptoms that early. Do you want to go home?”
“Not really. I love this place, and I do want to spend time with everybody. I just… I’m too exhausted to go skiing.”
The kettle boiled and he brought her a cup of tea and sat beside her, looping an arm around her shoulders to bring her closer to him. “Do you want to tell them?”
She looked up at him. “But we’re not ready to tell, yet.”
“I know, I think it’s too early, too. But I hate seeing you miserable.”
She snorted at that. “Telling our friends won’t make the morning sickness less awful, you know.”
“Yeah I know. I just… Nevermind.”
She straightened up in his arms to look at him properly. “You wanna tell them, don’t you?” He bit his lip and shook his head, but she knew him well enough after six years of relationship. “Rhys.”
His lips split into a grin, and he squeezed her against him.
“Oh Feyre, I really do. I know it’s stupid and reckless and way too early for everyone to know. But… We’re gonna have a baby.” Hearing the words coming out of his mouth made her feel as it had done every time since they’d taken the test: giddy and overwhelmed with joy. “You know, it’s like… Our baby is growing inside you, getting bigger and stronger everyday, and I’m so happy I want to cry every time I look at you. And I want our friends to share this amazing joy with us.”
She blinked to push the tears away, and kissed him fully. She passed a leg on top of him until she was straddling him, and laid her head on the crook of his neck, enjoying the warmth of his body against hers.
“Okay.”
“Okay?”
“Okay, we can tell them tonight.”
“You’re sure?”
“I’m sure. I want them to know.”
He pushed her away just enough to look into her eyes. “You know Cassian is gonna cry, right?”
She laughed. “I certainly hope so!”
***
They spent the day together, watching movies on the old TV, cuddling on the couch, and drinking hot chocolate. Then, when the others came back from their day, they gathered them all on the living room, and told them about the little being that was going to join their family. And Cassian did cry.

Nessian prompt (post-acofas): Their first time. Nesta had never let any male be on top or in any vulnerable position for her. But now is different.
Here it is! Thank you so much for this prompt, I absolutely loved writing this OS!
Warning : mature content.
Thefirst time :
Rolling over in her bed, Nesta let out a sigh.
She’d tried to sleep for hours now, and yet here she was, tossingand turning in her bed, the silence deafening in her room. She’dtried to read to calm herself and fall asleep, but it hadn’t work.
Nothing could work. No matter what she could do, nothing could stopthe images to fill her mind, haunting her all night.
Elain crying and begging, being forced into the water despiteeverything she’d tried. Cassian on the floor, crawling in a puddleof blood. The King of Hybern, smiling as she was dragged to thatCauldron. The mortal queens, eyeing them as some strange result of anexperimentation.
And every time one of those images was coming into her mind, herveins were filed with the exact same emotions. Anger, rage, fear, hatred.
It kept burning her every single time, and nothing could stop that.
Well, alcohol and sex had helped her. It had helped to dull theraging fire inside her bones, to make everything disappear for amoment. But it wasn’t viable, not in long-term speaking, and sheknew that, despite everything she’d say to Feyre. But it was easy, and it worked at the time she needed it to, so she had let herselfdrown.
Cutting out sex hadn’t been difficult. Not that she hadn’t enjoyit physically, but it had never meant anything for her, and what shehad lived with strangers had never fully satisfied her. And afterthey had arrived at the Camp with Cassian, there wasn’t a singlemale who dared to approach her, even less touch her. She was seen asan abnormality or a curiosity at best, and she had heard the whispersevery time she had walked through the camp, people staring andcalling her a witch or a monster. She didn’t care.
Replacing males by enjoying herself alone had been easy. Alcohol hadbeen a bit more difficult.
The feeling of slowly going away, not being here anymore, not havingthese images swirling inside her head… But when she was drinking, alcohol was taking more than bad memories. It had taken every bit ofherself with each bottle she had finished, numbing her more than shehad expected it to do, until one day she had woken up without beingable to feel a single emotion.
Two years, it’s what it had taken her to come back from the hellshe had locked herself in. It most certainly not had been easy, andshe still had some rough days, but she was out. Tonight was just abad one, and tomorrow things would be better, all she had to do waswait for the sun to come.
Feeling a strange tug in her stomach, she sat up straight, lookingaround in her room, grabbing her bathrobe before going out of bed, walking to the door without really thinking.
The house she was sharing with Cassian wasn’t big, but it wasperfect. It was quiet, cosy, and they had an office with largebookcases filled through time. Cassian’s room wasn’t far awayfrom hers, she just had to cross over the living room to get to hisdoor.
That’s where her feet took her without her thinking, and Nestafound herself staring at the wooden surface, frowning and trying tounderstand why she had gotten up in the first place. Following herinstinct, she knocked without knowing if he’d be here or outsidefor some mission.
“Come in,” she heard from inside.
Opening the door, Nesta peered at the bed, expecting to find him halfasleep. Moving further in the room when she realized his bed wasempty, she found him seating near the window, looking at the stars, hugging one of his knee with his hands.
“Can’t sleep?” He asked, turning his gaze to her.
Coming toward the male, Nesta sat down in front of him, nodding andsighing.
“The memories are coming at you?”
Another nod. Cassian staid silent for a moment, letting her enjoy thepeaceful sight of the night sky. Living together had been anobligation at first, Cassian being ordered by Feyre to look afterher, to make sure she would be fine at the Camp. She had hated it,hated her sister and hated him even more for doing it. It had feltlike a betrayal from him, and the first year had been even worse thanwhat had happened in Velaris. Every time Cassian had been out forduty, she had found alcohol and drunk until she could barely walk. She’d wasted herself so badly she couldn’t remember some part ofthis year, loosing herself a bit more everyday, becoming a livingghost. At first, Cassian had staid silent, only making sure she wassafe at home every night. She’d tried to find males to sleep with, but they were all too scared either by their Commander or her, so herfrustration had grown even more. That’s when she had started toyell at him, never missing an opportunity to hurt him with words, staring him down when they were in the same room, even when he hadtried to talk to her and proposed his help and support. Cassian hadbeen hurt and had gotten angry more times than she could count, buthe had never yell at her, never laid his hand on her. She had seenhis emotions through his eyes, but he had never acted on it,releasing everything during his training with the other Illyrians.
And when it had become clear for her that nothing would change, thatno matter what she would do, Cassian wouldn’t react on her, she hadstopped. She had spent months just ignoring him, reading books andlearning about Prythian, its history, how the courts had been workingtogether. Reading had helped her a lot, especially when her addictionhad started to become complicated to bear with.
He had been there for her when her hands had trembled, when hertemper had risen. After that, living in the same house hadn’t beenso problematic, and lately, things had settle down. Nesta was stillsilent most of the time, but the tension between her and Cassian haddisappear. Well, it hadn’t disappear, it had turned into something…different.
“I thought I was the only one having trouble to sleep tonight,”Cassian started, his eyes still on the sky.
Nesta didn’t respond, turning her eyes from the stars to his face. The tug inside her became stronger, but she pushed it aside, focusingon Cassian and how the moonlight illuminated his tatoos, how his jawseemed sharper, how the light was reflecting on his hair and wings.
“Thank you for the maps you draw and all the inventory work you’vedone, it’s helping a lot.”
“It’s my job,” She simply responded.
“Not everyone is doing it as well as you, so thank you. Puttingthings in order and clearing it up helps. It gives less excuses togenerals to not train females.”
Nesta nodded, her eyes still on him. He seemed so peaceful, and yetso tired.
Time passed by slowly, Cassian looking by the window, letting thechill air brush his face, gazing at her every now and then, his wingsslightly fluttering every time he caught her eyes on him.
“There’s something I wanted to ask you,” she finally said.
The Illyrian turned his attention toward her, his eyebrows rising, waiting for the question to come.
“What do you know about the mating bond?”
Cassian stilled at that, gauging her. She staid still, looking at himstraight in the eyes without flinching. There was something about himthat she couldn’t place, something going on inside every time shewas near him…
“Haven’t you talked about it with Feyre or Elain?”
“I’m asking it to you.”
“Well,” he let out in a breath, running his hand on the back ofhis neck, “on the lowest level, it’s just some sort of naturalselection, something guiding you toward the person with who you willhave the strongest offspring possible, it’s a way to ensure thenext generation.”
“So it’s just some biological process?”
“The mating bond is the fairy tale you’re talking about to yourchildren when night is coming and they need to sleep. It’s the mostbeautiful thing that can happen to you, the most complete and purestbond that can exist between two people. Having a mate and having thechance to meet them during your life… It’s not something everyoneis gifted.”
The tug kept growing stronger and stronger, pulling her toward himwith every heartbeat passing. Voices were whispering to her, echoingin her head, repeating the same thing again and again.
Mate. Mate. Mate.
“Do you believe in it?” She murmured.
“Before Feyre and Rhysand, I wasn’t convinced of the sentimentalaspect of it. But when your sister accepted the bond with my brother, when I watched them interact, how easy it was for them, the light intheir eyes, their smile, it changed my mind. And…”
Mate. Mate. Mate.
“And?”
Unfolding her arms, she started to approach him, unable to resist themagnetic pull. Cassian’s eyes went from her eyes to her mouth for asecond before he took a deep breath, clenching and unclenching hisfists.
“The pull, the longing, the depth of it, what it could really be ifgiven a chance, I can feel it.”
Nesta’s lips fell on Cassian’s in a gentle kiss, her heartpounding on her chest as she felt his fingers going through her hair, pulling her toward him.
“Nesta…”
The male barely got time to breath before she was kissing him again, letting herself go, following her intuition. When she moved away forthe second time to breath, their eyes connected, and they took amoment to truly look at each other. Something started to resonateinside, and she couldn’t quite explain what it was exactly, but itfelt right.
They moved in perfect synchronization, Nesta putting her hand onCassian’s chest as his hands cupped her cheeks, pulling her inanother kiss. She felt him shiver beneath her palm as she opened hermouth for him, his hand sliding from her face to her neck, then goingon her back.
Her fingers traced every muscle of his chest, encouraged by the moanshe let out every now and then. Their kisses became more fervent, thedesire they had caged for so long pushing them to go farther.
The hands on her back gripped her harder as Cassian stood up, takingher with him. They didn’t stop kissing for a second, Nesta’shands gripping on his neck as they stumbled through the room, blinding searching for the bed. As soon as she felt the mattressagainst her legs, she switched their position and pushed Cassian, making him sit. Unable to kiss her from where he was, the male caughthis breath, his eyes stuck on her, his hands on either side of thebed.
The need to be with him completely burnt her more than ever as shestudied him, his lips swollen, his hair disheveled and his eyesdarken by the same desire that was raging inside her veins.
She let her robe fall on the floor, and Cassian’s wings flared atthe sight of her nightgown, her skin showing through it thanks to themoonlight.
“My mate,” he whispered hoarsely, pulling her gently by the handbetween his legs, “My beautiful, fierce mate.”
He then kissed each of her palm, looking at her at the same time.Keeping his eyes on her face, he put his hands around her waist, histhumbs making small circles against the silky fabric. Nesta didn’tsay a word as she slowly sat on his lap, her head moving forward tocatch his lips with hers as his calloused hands caressed her thighs.
He kissed again and again, her thoughts clouding as he kissed his wayfrom her mouth to her cheek, going lower and lower to her neck.
Her thighs contracted against him when he moved to her collar bone, kissing and licking every inch of exposed skin, and he let out agroan, probably smelling her arousal like she could feel his againsther. Passing her arms around his neck, she rolled her hips againsthim as he kissed that special spot in the corner of her jaw, makingher inhale sharply. Her grip hardened on his hair when he sucked thatsame exact spot, making her dizzy.
Moving a bit, she tried to push him against the bed but he resisted, and she stiffened.
Instantly sensing the change in her attitude, Cassian broke theirkiss and search for her eyes, trying to detect any problem.
“Hey, what’s wrong? Talk to me Nesta,” he let out, his handsfreezing on her skin.
She kept her hand against his chest, breathing deeply, trying tothink properly while looking anywhere but at Cassian.
“Look at me sweetheart, and tell me if I’ve done something Ishouldn’t have.”
“It’s not you, you’ve done nothing wrong,” she finallyanswered, looking at him, tracing a curl of his tattoo to calm down.
“What is it then? Do you want to stop?”
“No, it’s just… I’ve always been on top.”
“You don’t like to be under a male?” He asked softly, running ahand in her hair.
“I’ve never tried. I wanted to have control on everything, so I never let anyone being on top of me.”
Cassian nodded and went forward to kiss her gently, rubbing himself against her involuntarily. The movement made them both moanagainst each other lips, and Nesta’s hands slid from his chest tohis abdomen.
“Do you want to try with me?” He breathed out, an arm around her body.
Nesta chewed on her lip, hesitating. Sensing her doubts, Cassian pressed his forehead against hers, caressing her skin to soothe her.
“You don’t have to say yes if you don’t want to, I want you to be comfortable with me.”
“Okay.”
The smile he gave her made her heart fluttered, and she leaned towardhim, kissing him deeply, nibbling at his bottom lip. The gesture made him groan as he went back to his exploration, stroking every inch of exposed skin, playing with the hem of her clothe.
Feeling him growing a bit more on his pants every second passing, Nesta started to pick up the pace, her kiss becoming harder, hertouch firmer. The Illyrian let her move against him, moaning everytime her hips rolled against his, his desire burning more and more.
Taking her in his arms, Cassian got up, his hands squeezing her bottom before he installed her on the bed, covering her with hisbody. Nesta watched him as he laid down on her, his massive formcovering her just the right way.
The kisses started again as his hands went under her nightgown, her skin burning every way his fingers caressed. Sitting up, he took offher nightgown, letting her lay down as he watched her, admiring herbody. Nesta hold his gaze, even if there was a faint blush on hercheeks.
“You’re so beautiful, I can’t even…”
Unleashing himself on her, Cassian went right for her neck, his teeth grazing her skin, his fingers dinging on her waist, his hips rollingover hers, the fabric of his pants being the only obstacle betweenthem.
The kisses continued down her cleavage, leaving Nesta out of breath. Her body arched toward him when he started to lick her nipple, hishand massaging her other breast. Soft moans escaped her lips, andCassian trailed down, playing with her breasts, caressing it as hismouth moved south to her stomach. Her body tensed up withanticipation when he passed her navel, his smile predatory when helooked up at her before pulling her legs on his shoulders.
Nesta let out a loud moan, her hands tightening in his hair as he parted her folds with his tongue, his thumb working on the bundle ofnerves between her legs. Her heels sank in his back as her bodyarched against his mouth, but Cassian pinned her against themattress.
He drove her insane with every twirl of his tongue, bringing her closer and closer to the edge, making her lose her mind until shecouldn’t form a single thought, overwhelmed by the sensations, herentire being shuddering and tensing until it was too much.
She cried out his name like some prayer, her body moving on its own, Nesta not being able to control anything as Cassian looked up ather, his thumbs gently rubbing her thighs. He staid there until herheartbeat slowed down, kissing her inner thighs, breathing deeply, her scent nourishing is hunger for her.
Detangling her legs around his shoulders, he stood up and got rid of his pants, standing in front of her, offered to her sight. He lookedferal with his wings stretched out, his eyes animated by some primalinstinct that made Nesta’s core twitch.
Crawling between her legs, he positioned himself and pressed his lips against hers, grinding on her. He stared at her one last time, silently asking for permission before entering her with one longthrust when she wrapped her legs around him. They both gasped fromthe sensation, stilling for a moment, and Cassian kissed her foreheadbefore he started to move.
Time didn’t seem to exist anymore as the move in perfect synchronization, performing a dance they had been designated totogether. It was only the two of them, every thrust making the bondsing.
Making love with Cassian was beyond words, it was something shehadn’t dare to imagine, it was everything she had ever wanted andmore. To feel his skin under her fingers, his muscles tightening, smelling his musky scent and hearing his moans…
They picked up the pace, consuming each other with every breath, becoming louder and messier in their moves. Nesta felt herselftightening around him, coming closer to the edge once again, andsensing Cassian was as close as her, she stretched out her hand toone of his wing, running her fingers on the sensitive membrane. TheIllyrian let out a loud cry and after one last thrust, he collapsedon her, panting and sweaty.
Nesta let him catch is breath, their hips still moving slowly until Cassian slid out. He didn’t move much after that, staying on top ofher, his head buried in the crook of her neck. She stroked his backwithout saying a word, kissing his cheek before he moved on the sideof the bed. A lazy smile was plastered on his face as he reached forher hand, intertwining their fingers, bringing them to his mouth tokiss her knuckles.
“You’re okay?” He whispered, his gaze glimmering with joy.
“More than okay.”
And she smiled to him, something she hadn’t done in a very long time. Stealing a kiss from her, he wrapped his arms around her tobring her on his chest, burying his nose on her hair.
“My mate,” he laughed softly, as if he still couldn’t believe it.
Nesta started to trace the curls of his tattoos, placing a kiss onhis chest before looking up to his face, a content smile on her lips.
“My mate,” she responded, kissing him one last time.

Feysand prompt - the jacuzzi
Soooooo @quakeriders, let’s talk. I know you ask for this like more than a month ago, but LISTEN --
No I don’t really have an excuse actually xD I just hope you’ll enjoy it!! It has the Inner Circle and guests, it has the Jacuzzi, and the summer night, and they party, and Feysand “getting busy”... ;) It gets very NSFW, so be warned.
This is part of my Feysand fic “I made you a promise” universe, and is a direct follow-up to this prompt that I wrote for @awesome--username :)
And also… @quakeriders I think I remember you telling me your birthday was around the 21st or 22nd? Sooo Happy Birthday!!
Tumblr media
Feyre moved into the townhouse a week later. Packing her place didn’t take long, seeing as her stuff consisted of maybe four or five boxes of clothes, a few books, and one or two kitchen pots. That didn’t stop their friends from coming to “help.”
This is how they found themselves carrying her boxes through the jam-packed subway on a Saturday afternoon.
“Eight people to carry ten boxes, seriously,” Rhys grumbled under his breath as the subway came to another stop, one of many before they were to make it to the townhouse. “This is ridiculous.”
“You’re just grumpy because you had to take the subway,” Clare said, punching him lightly in the arm. “It won’t kill you.”
“No it won't, but it would have taken a whole of thirty minutes to get everything in my car and bring it over. I can’t believe we’re wasting all this time.”
Sitting across from him, Feyre and Cassian laughed in unisson.
“Come on, you guys moving in together is a big deal, we all wanted to be here,” said Mor, standing beside Rhys. “Plus, we couldn’t miss the opportunity to enjoy free beer and pizza!”
“Oh, because we have to buy you pizzas now?” He asked his cousin, but Elain was the one answering.
“It’s a tradition Rhysand. Moving always comes with pizza and beer for the helpers.”
He rolled his eyes, but Feyre could see a small smile inching its way onto her boyfriend’s lips. She nudged him with her foot, and said:
“Come on, stop being grumpy, we’ll make a party of it. It’s been a while since someone got drunk in the jacuzzi!”
He laughed out loud at that, and they kept on chatting until they reached the right subway stop.
***
Putting away the boxes was over about as quickly as packing them had been. Elain arranged her sister’s books beside Rhysand’s, Mor helped Feyre organized the dresser to fit her clothes, and Cassian and Azriel started a sword fight with wooden spoons while they were putting away her very few kitchen utensils.
Then there was the long process of ordering pizzas who would please everyone, an excruciating thirty minutes during which Rhys had to rewrite the order five times because someone had changed their mind.
But finally, they were all chilling out on his rooftop terrace, pizzas and beers being passed around, the loud clubbing music coming out of his laptop. Mor’s playlist, obviously.
Not his terrace. Their terrace, Rhys thought as he took in his girlfriend lounging in the jacuzzi with Cassian and Alyss, a bottle in her hand, eyes closed as she laughed at one of his brother’s jokes, her neck resting on the edge of the tub. Gods, she was gorgeous. And she was living with him. Starting tonight, they would see each other everyday, he would get to hear her singing off-tune when she was painting, he would get to see her with messy hair before they went to bed.
Asking her to move in had been a spur-of-the-moment impulse, but once she’d said yes, nothing else had made sense. Of course they would live together. He didn’t even know how he had been able to wait more than ten months to ask her.
As if she could feel his eyes on her, Feyre looked at him and gave him a soft smile, one that he knew was intended only to him, one in which he could feel all the love she gave him everyday. He smiled back and got up from the chair he’d been sitting in, walking towards her.
“Rhys! Nice of you to join us!” Cassian shouted, clearly already drunk. “I was having way too much fun by myself with these lovely ladies!”
“I’m not getting into the tub, Cass,” he answered as he approached, putting his drink on the ground to encircle Feyre with his arms. She looked up and grinned at him, and he took a minute to admire her body inside the water, her skin covered only by a black bikini, her long, lovely legs laying down in front of her. She moved a hand to his face and plunged her fingers into his hair, pulling him towards her.
He didn’t know if there would ever come a day when he would get tired of her kisses. Their lips met and started moving slowly against each other. But he could feel what she wanted, and within seconds, her tongue was brushing against his lips, deepening their kiss. He felt a fire building inside him under her touch, and immediately felt the urge to climb beside her inside the water.
“Ahem… Guys, keep it PG, alright? We’re still here with you, remember?” Cassian interrupted, and Rhys felt Feyre chuckle against his mouth and move away from him.
“Sorry, Cass.”
Rhys settled behind her outside the tub, keeping an arm around her in the water as she resumed her conversation with Alyss about some new movie they were going to see. He looked around, from Mor and Clare dancing wildly in front of the stereo, to Azriel and Elain talking quietly in one corner of the rooftop. They didn’t need that many people to move out from Feyre’s old place, but he sure as hell was glad they’d come.
***
Everybody went home eventually. Alyss left first to free her babysitter, and she was followed by Elain around midnight. Azriel offered to escort her home, and they left the others to party until much later. Mor and Clare, who’d been slowly growing closer during the evening, also left together, clearly headed to Mor’s place a couple of blocks down the road. From the terrace, Cassian and Feyre watched them walk away in a very tight embrace, their laughs resonating in the quiet street.
Cassian was the last one to leave, practically pushed out the door by Rhys after a good hour and a half of talking about the new tattoo designs he was creating. Leaning on the frame of the front door, Feyre laughed at the sight of Rhys struggling to get his brother in a taxi, and turned back inside the house, waiting for him.
After a minute, strong arms encircled her from behind, and her boyfriend’s fingers intertwined with hers. She felt the warmth of his breath against her skin as he whispered in her ear.
“Hey roomie.”
She couldn’t stop a grin from forming on her lips at the words. They were living together. Officially. After so many months of spending as much time as they could together, they had finally taken the final step. His house was her new home, and she could feel her heart racing at the thought.
“Hey,” she answered, letting go of his hands to turn around in his arms.
He kissed her lips quickly. “Are you happy?”
She waited for a minute before answering. “I don’t know.” The worried look on his face was worth every second she waited to continue. “I mean, I was expecting getting to spend some time in the hottub with my boyfriend, but instead I had to stay in there all alone, I don’t know what to think about that…”
She gave him a mischievous smile, and he chuckled. “Oh you know, the night doesn’t have to end now. I would hate for you to spend your first night here disappointed.” And with that, he let go of her and started climbing the stairs, losing clothe after clothe on the way.
She followed after him, and soon he was turning the jacuzzi back on and climbing inside in nothing but his underwear. She took off her dress, climbed after him, and innocently sat on the opposite side of the tub, a shy smile on her lips. She wanted to play tonight. Rhys stared at her for a moment, clearly knowing what she wanted but trying to see if she would break first. As if that would happen. And sure enough, after a mere few seconds -
“You’re not coming closer?”
“Why would I?”
“Because you asked me to come here with you.”
“I never said I wanted to cozy up with you, though. We have all this space, might as well enjoy it, don’t you think?”
His smile didn’t falter. He knew what she was doing. “Sure, whatever makes you happy.”
They fell silent, staring at each other relentlessly for a good minute, the night silent except for the noise of the bubbles around them. The bright light coming from the tub mixed with the warmest shade of yellow coming from the other lamps scattered around the terrace, and all of the shadows surrounding them worked perfectly to underline Rhys’ toned chest and muscled arms.
She wanted to win this game they were playing. She wanted him to cave and finally take her in his arms, she wanted him to whisper sweet nothings in her ear about how irresistible she was.
But more than any of this, she wanted to touch him.
Without dropping her gaze, she moved to him, and straddled him. He smirked and let his hands drift underwater to find her hips, steadying her against him. Immediately, she let her fingers roam his chest, all the way up to his shoulders, his neck, his hair. He lowered his mouth on her neck and started scraping his teeth against her skin, not quite touching her, not quite pulling away.
“You lost, Darling,” he whispered in her ear, and the feeling of his breath sent shivers down her spine, all the way to her core.
“I don’t care,” she answered, and she turned his face to capture his lips with hers. Their kiss was instantly passionate and she moaned against him as his hands left her hips to move up to her hair, untying her hairband and tangling his fingers in her hair to keep her against him. She let a hand slide back down to his chest, and slowly grazed his skin until she reached the edge of his underwear, slipping inside it to grab him softly.
He groaned into her mouth, and tightened his grip around her body, massaging her hair and her neck with his fingers. Feyre felt a delicious warmth spread in her belly, and she was thankful for being seated on top of him, because she wasn’t sure her legs would have held her up much longer.
Especially when he let go of her lips to whisper “this is clearly in the way,” as he started working on untying the top of her bikini. She chuckled, but didn’t stop stroking him, and she could feel his hand trembling as he took off her swimsuit. The next second, one of his hand was caressing her breasts, and the other was travelling south to rub the inside of her thighs. She let out a gasp of pleasure as he slipped his fingers under the fabric, and plunged inside her.
“It wouldn’t be nice to let you have all the fun now would it?” He breathed against her skin, at the same second his fingers started moving in her, in the pattern he knew drove her crazy everytime.
“Rhys,” she found herself gasping against him, unable to restrain herself under his touch. Unable to focus on anything other than what he was doing to her, she linked her arms around his neck and let him drive her to the edge of the world, as a rush of pleasure crashed onto her, making her moan and gasp and cry out his name under the starry sky of Velaris.
After what seemed like an eternity, she felt the blissful waves recede, and her breathing started to slow down. She moved her head to the side, and found Rhys looking at her with nothing but love and desire in his eyes. She could still feel the hardness of him brushing between her legs, and immediately felt the need for him inside her. But Rhys seemed to understand her intention, and he talked before she could say anything.
“Maybe we should move this to the bedroom?”
She smiled, and only answered: “To our bedroom.”
His eyes softened at the correction, and he gave her the most tender kiss she could have wanted in that moment.
“Come, my lady, let’s get to our bedroom.”
