Amphibia: Hop 'Til You Drop/Turning Point Details!

OK I know that this aired a week ago but I didn't have time to do it (plus im lazy lol) so here we are! 2 segments about Anne training Plantars to fit in and Sasha beginning her redemption arc! Here's some details I noticed in these episodes!

One more thing, the opening receive some change:

Sound FX is added (ex. andrias sword)

And that's Hop 'Til You Drop! Another fun episode where Plantars tried to fit in human world. I like how the role is reverse and Anne is now the responsible one! Overall a really fun episode!

Holy frog this episode Sasha's redemption has officially begins! What I really like about the episode is Sasha's theme, especially during reverse end of discussion and her promise scene. Maannnn Sasha's episodes are always a blast! Hope we'll see more of her...next year

Diving beetles are cool af and cute af, so let’s have some fun with this guy. Look, I know people are a little...”ew” about bugs, but honestly, a lot of them really deserve a shot at being considered cute. If you want, I can vet some for you, and I’m vetting this one. And if my word doesn’t do it for you, then chew on this: THEY LOVE EATING MOSQUITO LARVAE. Anyone that brings down mosquito populations is a friend in my book, and this guy even comes in an adorable, round, friend shape. What’s there not to love?

I think the theme for AC Fish Explained Posts right now is “shitshitshit September is ending and there are so many things leaving this month I haven’t covered OH NO”. Honestly, just stalk your rivers for a moment and you’ll find this guy if you haven’t in the past few months. They can be a bit annoying when they swim to the other side and you have to actually use your vaulting pole, but it’s easy. Just do it.

Anyway, have I mentioned that beetles are diverse? Because they are. In fact, they are *the* most diverse group of animals on the planet, with thousands of species all over the world in every conceivable habitat, minus the ocean. Beetles, of Order: Coleoptera, encompass some 400,000 species, with new species being discovered all the damn time. That’s 25% of all known animal species. Period. Could explain why most of the Critterpedia on the bug side are beetles, typically the big ones people spend money on to own in some way. Diving beetles are just a small part of that, with today’s beetle in Family: Dytiscidae, the Predaceous Diving Beetles, with some 4,000 species. Today’s diving beetle is Cybister chinensis (a synonymous name is also Cybister japonicus, and if that species name sounds familiar, it’s because it looks like a lot of things native to Japan get “japonicus” slapped on them...just my observation after doing so many of these posts...I’m seeing a pattern lmao) :

Okay, so, how do diving beetles dive? Like dragonflies, their larvae are voracious, aquatic predators (so much so, they’ve earned the nickname “Water Tiger”) and then eventually molt and metamorphose into adults that return to the water to continue being freshwater predators. The diving beetle does this by being a little scuba diver - it can actually trap bubbles under its wing covers and bring air down with it. Insects do not have lungs, but instead breath through spiracles, or openings, in their abdomens, the back end of their bodies. Holding the bubble there allows it to breathe while searching for prey underwater, as seen in this video by DeepLook:

When at rest, the diving beetle hangs upside down in the water, leaving its backside exposed in order to breathe, so explains its behavior in ACNH!

Its back legs have special, feather-like hairs that allow it paddle through the water adorably.

I’m way way WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY behind on that “100 Days to New Horizons” thing, but I still want to do all the questions. so I’ll catch up now, and put everything behind a readmore!

1.Do you prefer making up a new name for your villager, or using your own name?

I’ve never used my own name, I’d rather have my villager/mayor be a character I can make my own little backstory for.

2. Do you use the first map you’re given, or do you reset for layouts?

I reset for layouts!

3. Do you use the face you’re given, or do you wait for guides and choose your favourite?

my first time through, I just used the face I was given, but on subsequent characters I used the guide.

4. Favourite town/island name?/Have you a name picked out for your town/island?

yep, I’m gonna call my island Eventide!

5. Will you be sharing with friends/family, or is your island going to be all your own?

ALL MINE

6. What’s a new feature you’re excited about?

crafting!

apples look so pretty in their perfect form!

8. Least favourite fruit?

orange, I’ve never been able to stick with having orange as a native fruit.

I like the campground in New Leaf, and the shopping district

10. Where do you like to like to put your house? Do you like that level of customization, or do you prefer to have some things decided, like in older entries?

near the ocean, so I can hear the tides in my house! I love that level of customization, and if I can change my mind and move my tent elsewhere in NH, that’ll be even better! (I do look forward to camping right on the beach, though!)

Stinky. he moved into a bad spot in my first town, has a horrible name, and took forever to leave. :x after that it was a long time before I warmed up to Jocks…

I’ve only played a little bit of Wild World and City Folk, but I didn’t mind them. I like having little tasks to accomplish in a game.

Lyle, Pave, Phyllis, and Zipper.

18. Do you use paths? Are you excited about the new path tool?

yes, I do, and YES I AM

19. Favourite feature from an older entry?

Celeste’s observatory! admittedly I haven’t played much of the older games, but I really liked this feature and want to see it brought back. I’d be up to see other older features that people talk fondly about come back too.

20. What was your first Animal Crossing game?

New Leaf!

21. Favourite activity (fishing, bug catching, fossil hunting, other)?

bug catching! also decorating my house

22. Least favourite activity?

probably watering, there’s a reason I use the Beautiful Town ordinance as soon as I’m mayor! hunting fossils can get annoying sometimes too, when a dig spot is hidden and I have to walk all over town multiple times to find it…

23. Favourite bug?

bell crickets and evening cicadas make such soothing noises, and the bell crickets have a unique display too! I also really like the ant farm display, and so many of the butterflies, and I can’t NOT mention all the stag beetles that made me so much money

24. Least favourite bug?

mole cricket. so danged hard to catch…

25. A quarter of the way there! How’s the wait?

IT’S TORTURE, EVEN MORESO SINCE WE’RE ALSO WAITING FOR A DIRECT WITH MORE INFO

goldfish and sea butterfly display so prettily! I also really like all the sharks, and the frog (even though it’s not really a fish)

anything I can turn into a mini fossil, those are neat (and fun to decorate with)

don’t really have one, tbh

Classic is a BIG favorite, I love how it looks customized to be the dark wood! I also really like Mush, Blue, Green, Ice, Mermaid, Gracie, Princess, and Rococo.
