I got my first tag game y'all 🥹 hi @reploidbuddy
Last song I Listened to
I am honestly playing lil freak by bbno$ on loop
Currently watching
we cannot pick a single show to watch consistently so we are watching:
avatar the last airbender (original) (rewatch)
avatar the live action
amphibia
sailor moon crystal
yowamushi pedal
flapjack
chowder
kablam
inuyasha
good omens (about to start s2 for the first time!)
I think there are honestly several more lmao. we bounce a Lot
Savoury/sweet/spicy
I'm a weenie about spicy, but savory and sweet both have their places! I love to cook And bake :)
Current Obsessions
I just picked up another five books at the library today, and one at a local bookstore recently! reading a lot, writing a lot, trying to get my life together and move, lots and lots and lots of music. going to start trying to make clothes soon! I've been cooking enough to start experimenting again and now I'm starting to fall back into that obsession (ask me about monte cristo bombs!). also color season typing!
I'm also getting back into working (read: volunteering, both because it's really cool and also because no one hires you with a large gap in your resume after nearly dying), and it's going well! One is a queer library project, and I'm picking up a second volunteer spot soon with a local publishing company :)
Relationship Status
we spent the pandemic together in a studio apartment and still couldn't get enough of each other at the end of it. we make each other late and/or lose sleep almost every day because we stay up half the night talking STILL after over five years. I'm gonna marry her and she's a little slice of sunshine
favorite color
deep purple but also most jewel tones, one very specific shade of matte grey, a variety of greens, every shade of blue that I've seen in the sky, blood red, and most recently, yellow :)
idk who likes tag games 😅 sorry if you don't, but also if you like them and I missed you, pls lmk!

-I have ordered BINDERS and I am EXCITED for my BINDERS.
What do I want binders for? I dunno. I just know that all my creative impulses at the moment involve making living documents, and there's nothing better for that than a good ~aesthetic~ a5 binder.
At least one of them will probably end up being a DnD character journal. But I have other ideas, too. Too many; there's no way I'll get around to even half of them. We'll see what filters out.
-Also have my eye on a pyrography kit but the binders were marginally more practical. For now. I am itching to incorporate pyrography into the bookbinding. I already know EXACTLY what I'm going to make.
-I've been shoulder deep in the Tarot Hyperfixation again today. Had a slight epiphany with regards to what sort of project I want to eventually gear the Hyperfixation towards. So that's exciting! All these years, it's been a rather aimless hobby of mine. Nice to have a Goal.
-I am probably due another Good Omens rewatch. My main engagement with GO this last week or so has been reading fic in the evenings --and that rules. Please recommend fics to me. But I'd like to touch base with canon again and make some contributions of my own, again --meta or fic or otherwise.
-OFMD!!!!!
You get it.
-No 1000 Year Old Vampire these last few days. I should probably correct that. Speaking of living documents... (BINDER? WILL IT GO IN A BINDER???).
(I saw one --didn't buy it, but I have it saved-- that would be perfect for this particular world state. I've been playing with a word processor, but if I convert the games into analog, that's probably what I'll use...) (BINDER BINDER YES BINDER)
-I'm having a very good time. I should probably switch things up a bit soon, but if I've stuck in this particular groove a little too long, I had fun doing it, so it's not really a problem. I'm learning a lot of stuff very quickly, and making bad art about it, and that's when I'm happiest, honestly.

Things I’m noticing on this rewatch, which I’m hoping to take slow and ponder on but we will see how it goes, PART FOUR (obviously major Good Omens season 2 spoilers throughout, specifically for S2E4)
- Lesi?
- Shax really does have creepy down pat.
- Aziraphale not sensing her, though. They really do play Calvinball with the rules of that, it seems.
- “You don’t seem his type at all” mirroring “I am so not your type” between Nina and Maggie last episode ;A; “you have no idea,” Maggie said. Aziraphale thinks. I weep.
- Sometime in the last 18, 19 years…would that have put them square in the “raising the Antichrist” years? Hang on. 4 years past the failed apocalypse…makes it 14…they were working on it for 11 years…no, that would put them before that, wouldn’t it? Wtf is that timing, Shax?
- “This Angel Gabriel, who I’ve never heard of” = “who’s Morales?”
- Shax really is the kind of infernally clever that’s perfect for tripping Aziraphale up when he’s already flustered and panicked. Love to see them interact.
- Opening theme detail today: one of the headstones reads Jane Austen. Wonder if the headstones change every episode too?
- “Here lies the former shell of Beelzebub” reads another, and “here lies Adam” with some text I can’t make out. Went back to the beginning of the graveyard bit now and “Peter Paintball”, and of course, “Every day.” If anyone gets good eyes on the Adam headstone, y’all gotta let me know.
- This episode’s theater feature: Nazi Zombie Flesheaters, with a still of the Nazis from s1 still alive. Nice.
- Seems odd to call the episode “The Hitchhiker” when it seems the literal hitchhiking is done by the time the opening credits roll. Time to refresh myself on why this episode might be called that.
- Did they reuse footage? Or reenact it?
- Yknow…none of the demons are wearing obvious animals this season. I think only Beelzebub, Hastur, and Ligur might have done it tbh.
- I love the details of Hell tbh. The fire cooler. The sheer number of Nazis. The way Shax moves so mechanically but so cool and collected.
- Does Shax actually have any higher demon ears? Or is she baiting Furfur? Hard to tell for her.
- Yknow the teeth aren’t helping in figuring out if Shax has an animal aspect.
- The besotted Aziraphale bit here. I cannot BELIEVE this all happens immediately post church bomb.
- Okay but the Nazis not disputing the fact that they belong in hell, just that they’re dead based on trickery. Nice.
- The tongue bit. Yuck.
- OKAY. Crowley has present day hair color for this adventure. That feels significant. Is this minisode a flashback?
- Okay the signage of Hell. Always a favorite. But the “heaven looks down on you” sign. Hmm. Bit odd.
- Ah. Because I couldn’t see the bottom half of it. “Because you’re…” something. Move it, Furfur XD
- Pathetic. “Heaven looks down on you because you’re pathetic.” …hmm. Still an interesting take, tbh.
- Happy to be in the probable minority that likes the zombies bit XD which is interesting bc I normally hate zombie fiction. They do it the way I like, though. They’re conscious and sentient in their zombieness.
- Also the brain repeating on him XD what a gloriously stupid and delightful detail
- And okay yeah the dead rising from the grave thing from Jimbriel’s prophecy and the Nazi zombies here feels like a big ole clue for s3. I’m Mormon so my upbringing around the Second Coming is probably weirder than other Christians but a big part of it for us is the emphasis on the resurrection of the dead, ALL the dead. Putting a properly macabre spin on it feels like a very Good Omens thing to do tbh.
- There’s the dirty donkey again! It DIDNT move, Crowley LITERALLY planned his heist ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE BOOKSHOP. I WORK IN SOHO I HEAR THINGS INDEED.
- David Tennant what is that voice XD
- Lots of emphasis on sleight of hand this…entire show :P it does make one suspicious of The Final Fifteen Minutes. But also I don’t want to rob them of their power? Because damn. DAMN.
- (The lip reading. It. I. I will wait for the end but GUH)
- He’s so pleased with himself for getting it right XD
- They are SO. IN. LOVE. KILL ME.
- Natural dexterity. Like the magic words, I’m waiting for that one to come true.
- The way Pat tries to have some integrity XD
- THE WAY AZIRAPHALE CASUALLY DROPS THAT HE HAS BOTH A FIREARMS LICENSE AND A DERRINGER. AZIRAPHALE ZIRAPHALE FELL, ARE YOU POSITIVE CROWLEY IS THE JAMES BOND ENTHUSIAST?
- More importantly, does he still have that???
- …does that mean Aziraphale’s fired a gun when Crowley hasn’t? What does this mean for the paintball gun bit? Does your derringer lend weight to a moral argument, Aziraphale??
- Hang on have to squeal for the way Aziraphale just grabs Crowley’s hand in both of his. So excited. So cute.
- HA, the wrong ring XD
- Sad to see Pat get eaten. But the framing of it is really cool actually.
- Fell the Marvelous. That poster. How in the heck.
- Aziraphale having stage fright tho.
- Jiggery pokery indeed XD
- EXPERIENCE USING FIREARMS. AZIRAPHALE THESE ARE SOLDIERS.
- Omg the miracle blocker is a punch card. The worldbuilding implications.
- I wonder at how hell would have taken Aziraphale handing Crowley a rifle tbh.
- “Aim for my mouth, shoot past my ear” WHAT DOES THAT MEAN
- the way they’re both shaking and nervous. The camera itself shaking. CROWLEY shaking
- The feather boa. I WEEP. He’s so happy.
- I know the implication is that Crowley, like Jim, is missing his memories, but. Also. The idea that maybe Crowley is just terrible at remembering people who aren’t Aziraphale. Poor Furfur.
- The sleight of hand is very subtle. Which is the point. But also. Idk man people have said it better and apparently written 16k essays about it, I’m just proud of him for pulling it off.
- Okay but. But they’re zombies. Neil they’re zombies. Aziraphale and Crowley just let three Nazi zombies wander off Neil. NEIL. WHAT IS THE PLAN WITH THEM??
- Dagon is in top form this season tbh
- I CANNOT BELIEVE. THAT THE ONE NAZI REALLY CAN READ LIPS. I CANNOT BELIEVE IT. Peak comedy always.
- I got it right the time that mattered ;A;
- I knew you would come through for me. You always do.
- You said trust me.
- And you did.
- MURDER ME.
- ITS CHATEAUNEUF DU PAPE AGAIN ARE YOU KIDDING ME I AM ALREADY TRYING SO HARD NOT TO QUOTE THIS SCENE WORD FOR HECKING WORD
- “If you were truly as evil as you like to paint yourself” the levels of deep seated misunderstanding and flawed foundational concepts I’m CRY
- Though it’s AZIRAPHALE who brings up shades of grey. A glimmer of hope.
- Can someone who knows accents tell me what is going on with Shax’s
- Beelzebub’s thanks and “good work” as a discordant note, but also their command for Shax to take an army to attack the bookshop knowing full well she isn’t going to get that kind of support…wut.
- THE BENTLEY FOLLOWING AZIRAPHALE AFTER HE PATS IT. CROWLEY FEELS WHAT IT FEELS.
- Peter Anderson’s screen effects are my favorite thing.
- Hate to see the way Nina is so broken down by Lindsey tbh.
- Yeeeah…Crowley seems to be purposely living in his car tbh. Retreating directly to it. I can’t tell if Aziraphale never thought to offer cohabitation or if Crowley turned him down but my money is on they’ve never discussed it despite both of them thinking about it very loudly.
- A night to remember! Never bodes well.
Okay. That’s it for tonight. An episode that seems out of place but has many good tasty morsels and I think more than a smidge of s3 foreshadowing. Why is the episode called The Hitchhiker? Maybe for Furfur trying to climb the greasy pole of bureaucracy? For the Nazis hanging onto life? Literally just for the one part at the beginning that sets the whole climax into motion? Who knows???

I will not be normal for the next month and a half. We got the Red, white, and Royal Blue trailer today, I'm going to rewatch Nimona, Speak Now (TV) comes out tonight, Good omens s2 comes out in less than a month, and then the RWARB movie drops. It's gonna be a wild ride.

3 ships: nope. (Shipping is just not currently a huge part of my fandom engagement. There's the occasional couple I find cute, but I genuinely find it difficult to think of ships I like whenever I'm trying to answer a question like this.)
first ever ship: I would guess Ron/Hermione? If there was anything I was remotely invested in before then, I really can't remember.
last song: I don't remember the last song I listened to deliberately, but the last song I listened to was (perhaps unfortunately) Blümchen's Herz an Herz, which was playing at the local queer centre event I went to today. (I don't even dislike the song, it's just PAINFULLY 90s :P)
last movie: Pearl (the 2022 horror movie, in case there are more movies of that name)
currently reading: Re-reading "Accessing the Future - A Disability-Themed Anthology" to determine whether it stays on my bookshelf
currently watching: I always have like half a dozen shows ongoing at any one time because each combination of our group of four watches different things with each other - just finished Good Omens, Wheel of Time Season 2 and Fiona and Cake, I'm rewatching Steven Universe on my own and one of our ongoing shows is Reservation Dogs, which I very much recommend (I've never seen anyone on tumblr mention it, which surprises me, feels like a show tumblr would be all over, but I suppose I might just be following the "wrong" people)
currently consuming: nothing but currently waiting to consume pumpkin bread
currently craving: some more insight into my brain's needs so my brainworms give me some goddamn rest, tbh; they've been extra exhausting for weeks

Tagged by: Fave of faves @bethanyactually--and usually I save every post I'm tagged in to (at least theoretically) do later, but since I actually have returned to watching and listening to things lately, I'm gonna do this one right now.
Last song: Like You Do by Josh Ramsay. And Christian Kane's cover of Fast Car, both of which were recced to me by Leander, who knew I should hear them. But also, while I haven't listened to any of it since Tuesday, I woke up with the Daisy Jones and The Six soundtrack playing in my head...just like it has been ever since I originally started watching the series. Today it's mostly been The River featuring Simone, Regret Me, and More Fun To Miss. I know enough of the lyrics now for the soundtrack to be my constant mental radio as I go about my day.
Currently watching: Nancy Drew S2 (I'm 4 episodes in and enjoying it a lot), Schmigadoon S2 (I've seen half of it and it's still fantastic and I'm bummed I only have 3 episodes to go) and today I'm about to start my Good Omens rewatch so I can head into the new season full of S1 feels. Because my best friend is literally the best, I'm also partly through a DJATS rewatch with Leander seeing it for the first time--making that my favorite thing I am watching right now.
Currently reading: Nightwork by Nora Roberts (I'm about halfway through it and have been borrowing it from @actuallylukedanes forever and I feel very bad about that! I will finish it! I'm also partly through How to Raise an Antiracist by Ibram X. Kendi, also on loan from Leander. And before that, I was (and remain) partway through literally 20 other ebooks of all kinds--most recently Zero Fail: The Rise and Fall of the Secret Service by Carol Leonnig. There's a ton of great nonfiction that I already have on my tablet and know I'll enjoy cuz I'm that kind of geek...I just rarely read anymore because reading time is time I'm not spending with my millions of other hobbies.
Current obsession: As referenced above, Daisy Jones and The Six, which I am so so happy Leander is watching with me--both helping me get it out of my system a little and letting me indulge even more in my love of it. After we watched it on Wednesday, I was able to listen to something that wasn't the soundtrack for the first time, so I just may be able to dial this obsession down to manageable levels at some point. But GUYS IT'S SO GOOD. I want to gif it as soon as I get back to Photoshop and I kind of want to read the book, when I didn't before. I just want to burrow into the world and live there, and I haven't felt that way in quite a while, about anything. (It's made it harder to engage with other things, which is why I originally was going to add Ted Lasso's completed final season to my week along with Nancy Drew and Schmigadoon, but ended up not doing so because my head and heart are full of DJATS right now. But I missed this feeling, too, so I'm happy to be in love again.)
No-pressure tagging: @actuallylukedanes, @jicklet, @jakeperalta, @beturass, @hondagirll, @mythologicalmango, @dollsome-does-tumblr, @anextrapart, @sentichefuoripiove, @robbiedaymonds and anybody else who wants to do this.

I’ve just realised something amazing.
So at my work at the moment, we rely on volunteers to work Saturdays, it’s a half day and then we get to take a half day off somewhere else in the week. This is all changing by august when there will be a proper rota, and I’ll just be Mon-Fri. But until then, a few months ago I put my name down for a couple of Saturdays, just to show willing.
One of them will be the last Saturday in July. Because I didn’t want to muck up the new rotas from August, I took my half day off the Friday before. Which is to say Friday the 28th.
Now I’d forgotten about this until today, I don’t pay a huge amount of notice to my schedule that far in advance, but checking my calender today I have just realised that well before it was announced, I have secured myself an afternoon off on the day the new season of Good Omens is released.
Now, someone please tell me it’s all coming out at once and it’s not going to be a one a week deal. I mean I’m happy either way, I’ll either be watching the whole series, or I’ll be watching, rewatching and over analysing the first episode. It’s just, I know which I’d prefer…

So, on Monday I learned Good Omens s02 was out. I watched a little bit of the first ep, my heart exploded with joy, and then I decided to savor it.
On Tuesday, I went to watch a single episode, still thinking I wouldn't binge it because then it'd be over too quick. Then that one ep turned into two, and just the third, which ended far too soon so I watch 4 too, and then the same thing so I watched 5, and then again with 6. So then it was half past 4 yesterday and I'd suddenly accidentally binged the whole season and had my heart ripped out.
And now, today, there was obviously nothing more to watch, except I know I will, actually, rewatch s1 and then s2 and probably s2 some more. And maybe die, just a little.

tag game time!
i was tagged by the lovely @contre-qui, with the aim of tagging nine people to learn about their interests - i'm unlikely to find that many people myself but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it! going under the cut because this is a pretty long(ish) one.
music!
fave genre a little bit of everything but right now especially medieval folk & pop rock
fave artist a strange mixture of måneskin, kraftklub, siames, cavetown, and rainbow kitten surprise
fave song hard choice, but probably 'brothers' by siames & eddy capparelli
most listened to song recently either 'coraline' by måneskin or 'king orfeo' from the child ballads
song currently stuck in your head 'happy pills' by weathers
five fave lyrics oh boy, this is gonna take some thought.
"called to the devil and the devil said / hey! why you been calling this late? / it's like 2a.m. and the bars all close at ten in hell, that's a rule i made / anyway, you say you're too busy saving everybody else to save yourself / and you don't want no help, oh well / that's the story to tell" ('it's called: freefall' by rainbow kitten surprise)
"today i coo, today i caw / i have a pistol party and i kill 'em all / i think i might be scared / of the man and the men with their hands inside / and the women, oh, the women all they do is cry / and i, well i lose my mind" ('little pistol' by mother mother)
"so did you pack your bag, or did somebody pack it for you? / take me to the sad, sad party that you're bound to / whether you're a 'have-not' or a 'have', i got a question / are you living dead, or is this some kind of possession?' ('blast doors' by everything everything)
"but what if i run out of fertiliser? / what if the clouds run out of rain? what if lemon boy won't grow no longer? what if beaches dry of sugar cane?" ('lemon boy' by cavetown)
"now they tell you that you're their muse / yeah, they're so inspired / but where were they when they called your name / and they lit the fire? / when the voices came, you cut your hair / but you're stilled confused" ('joan of arc' by arcade fire)
books!
fave book genre fantasy all the way
fave writer bernardine evaristo, leigh bardugo, madeline miller
fave book oh dear, here we go. 'circe' by madeline miller, 'six of crows' and 'crooked kingdom' by leigh bardugo, 'girl, woman, other' by bernardine evaristo, 'good omens' by neil gaiman & terry pratchett, 'the raven cycle' series by maggie stiefvater, 'oranges are not the only fruit' by jeanette winterson, and a whole lot of old norse literature of dubious authorship (but especially 'gisla saga' and 'hrafnkels saga freysgoða', and pretty much all of the eddic poems in the volsung cycle)
fave book series it's a tie between leigh bardugo's grishaverse novels and maggie stiefvater's 'the raven cycle'
comfort book 'the secret kingdom' by jenny nimmo
rainy day book any of my norse books, sagas or poetry
fave characters nina zenik in the grishaverse, ronan lynch in 'the raven cycle', gisli in 'gisla saga' (not sure if that counts as a character or historical figure, dependent on perspective...?), and circe in, y'know, 'circe'
five quotes from your fave books?
"i thought once that gods are the opposite of death, but i see now they are more dead than anything, for they are unchanging, and can hold nothing in their hands" ('circe' by madeline miller)
"'spreader of swords, it is your own sons' / corpse-bloody hearts you've chewed up with honey, / proud man, you've consumed dead men's meat, / eating it as ale-dainties, sending it to the high seat' [...] with the point of a blade she gave the bed a bloody drink, / with a hel-keen hand, and set the dogs free; / she woke the servants, and in front of the hall-door / she flung a burning brand: she paid them back for her brothers. / to the fire she gave everyone who was inside, / who'd come from myrkheim after murdering gunnar and his men; / the ancient timbers fell, the temples smoked, / the buildings burned of budli's kin, and the shield-maids inside; / their lives stemmed, sinking into hot flames." (gudrun avenges her brother in 'atlakviða', a poem in the old norse poetic and elder eddas)
"you aren't a flower, you're every blossom in the wood blooming at once. you are a tidal wave. you're a stampede. you are overwhelming." ('crooked kingdom' by leigh bardugo)
"from the passenger seat, ronan began to swear at adam. it was a long, involved swear, using every forbidden word possible, often in compound-word form. as adam stared at his lap, penitent, he mused that there was something musical about the ronan when he swore, a careful and loving precision to the way he fit the words together, a black-painted poetry. it was far less hateful sounding than when he didn't swear." ('the raven cycle' by maggie stiefvater)
"but where was god now, with heaven full of astronauts, and the lord overthrown? i miss god. i miss the company of someone utterly loyal. i still don't think of god as my betrayer. the servants of god, yes, but servants by their very nature betray. i miss god who was my friend. i don't even know if god exists, but i do know that if god is your emotional role model, very few human relationships will match up to it. i have an idea that one day it might be possible, i thought once it had become possible, and that glimpse has set me wandering, trying to find the balance between earth and sky. if the servants hadn't rushed in and parted us, i might have been disappointed, might have snatched off the white samite to find a bowl of soup." ('oranges are not the only fruit' by jeanette winterson)

Okay, so I haven’t seen a show that I related to legit every character like, ever, and The Owl House hit me like a truck.
As I watched (and rewatched) how each character acts and develops, I look at them and feel a connection.
Luz, the ‘weird’ girl, the outsider, the overly positive, interested, distractible, oblivious, and big hearted character. I utterly love Luz Noceda. Like holy crap. We both find oddly specific things interesting be it a specific topic or the immersion into a fandom. We both make weird jokes and get into pun wars with people (I had one go on for about an hour once...it was glorious). For a person who’s pretty negative about myself, when other people are involved, I lift them up as high as possible, even with weak nerd arms. We both get distracted easily, or are at least oblivious. I didn’t know half of the things happening around me during school, and I honestly still don’t. I’ve watched movies 50 times and realized the actual point/blatantly obvious event during the 51st. I’ve had people like me before and I never noticed until someone told me then I struggled to believe it (”What is it she sees, in this cluster clump of me?”). (Honestly the entirety of ‘Ordinary’ called me out super hard). Luz also does crazy things for her friends with the best of intentions (even if it isn’t well thought out). Her heart is so big and she sees the best in everyone, it’s just amazing. Little things she does and has said, I’ve done too (especially the ‘cool’ scene).
Amity is often misread and quiet, struggling to talk to others. She also doesn’t like others to see her emotions very much, she bottles them up and has a need to be seen in a certain way. She has to be ‘perfect’ (a song which also called me out pretty hard). I feel that deep down in my soul my dudes. I always had to have perfect grades and I still have to be perfect at everything I do on the first try (I’m working on not doing that). I was always quiet, and honestly still am. I definitely bottle up my emotions rather than let others see what’s up and I have a hard time forming coherent sentences around crushes...well...around people in general. I always felt the need to be the straight A student and the rock in my loved one’s lives (which they never expected of me so I don’t know where that came from haha) and I still kinda do. Amity also sacrifices herself for her friends (Grom...sports....must I say more?). And though I may not have sacrificed my body, I’ve protected my friends hard core. No one messes with my buds.
Eda. Oh Eda. The wild witch who ran off to live in the woods because she didn’t like school and didn’t want to commit to one coven in life. The witch who is slow to pick up on things, is chaotic, and completely weird in the best possible way. I always liked school until I was about to graduate, then I realized how it can really mess with people (see Eda running around the school pointing out the strangeness of it all). All I feel that I really learned from school was to take a test. Creativity killer sadly. Eda has a strange sense of humor and is slow to get sarcasm or that it was a joke. Same Eda, same. I also cannot commit to one coven, well, career or job for the rest of my life. I like keeping my options open. Plus I would love to build a house out in the woods nearby and be a witch. I’ve always been weird and chaotic too, but I think Eda’s weird is way more fun than my own.
King is a goofy little dude who usually has weird jokes or points of view, but sometimes is super wise. I know that I have a strange sense of humor that it seems like most of my people don’t understand, and I have been known to be wise when I’m not thinking about it...on the other hand, when I try to be wise, I stumble and say something extremely weird. He struggles with public speaking/putting himself out there (Grom) and is nervous a while before getting comfortable with it. (I hate public speaking says the kid who did musicals for 13 years, writes songs, and thinks she wants to be an author, artist, actress, or musician). I also connect with King with the fact that I freakin’ love rubber ducky stuff. I legit have a rubber ducky bathrobe (of which one of my best friends gave me as a birthday gift...it’s a bit small but it’s sososo soft I love it), I made a ducky pillowcase today to practice sewing (it’s so cute I almost cried), I have a bunch of duckies stashed away throughout the house, and my Grandma made me a ducky baby quilt for the future. Ducks! Am I right? (I’m right.)
Willow is the shy, not-so-confident plant girl. I am too a shy, not-so-confident plant girl. I legit have about 14 or 15 plants (each have a name) that I care about a lot. I don’t really remember being bullied (I know I was at least once), but I’ve definitely had my heart hurt (honestly pretty badly) by people I considered friends at that time (I won’t get into that here). I’m also a shy person who’s been working on being more confident with themselves. Plus: plants!
Gus is fascinated by specific topics and is younger than everyone else, which may make him feel a bit childish. I feel this on a personal level. I’m the youngest child on my Mom’s side and the second youngest on my Dad’s. I was the baby and I don’t think I got to do much with the older kids (you’re too young so we don’t wanna play with you kinda thing, etc. [which is totally fine and I get 100%]) Though I may be older than all of my friends, I still feel like a child compared to nearly all of them. They’re all so smart and put together, and I’m not. I’m also fascinated by specific topics that others may not know or care to know much about (for Gus, it’s humans, for me, it’s a lot of things).
Edric and Emira are pretty similar to my sister and I. We aren’t twins, we didn’t always get along, and we rarely had shenanigans or pranked like these two do, but as we got older, we understood each other better and our relationship is basically being there for one another and really bad puns.
Hooty...well...I suppose we share the fact that we both make up songs and are bored a lot...definitely not that we’re both owl tubes.....*nervous laughter*
Owlbert and I share the quiet helpfulness trait...plus we’re both adorable.
(Some of these go deeper than others but the point is there’s still a connection).
Goodness gracious I love this show.
I haven’t laughed at a show this hard since Good Omens last year.
I love when I can connect with characters. It makes me happy.

Tumblr media
“My object then," replied Darcy, "was to show you, by every civility in my power, that I was not so mean as to resent the past; and I hoped to obtain your forgiveness, to lessen your ill opinion, by letting you see that your reproofs had been attended to. How soon any other wishes introduced themselves I can hardly tell, but I believe in about half an hour after I had seen you.”
Here is my first try on the next ship - Reylo.
Before "Good Omens" took over my world, this cute couple was my strong obsession. I know, I know, It's been over a year since Ben died and our ship was made canon, but after rewatching Pride and Prejudice (I'm also a Jane Austen fan) this idea raised in my mind. I see so many parallels! Well, of course, Mr Darcy didn't kill his father, he he.
The Throne Room scene from TLJ is just like " You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you" moment.
And then Kylo tries to get Rey on his own conditions, he wants to rule with her(he can't imagine doing it without her)he struggles not seeing why is she so reluctant when she should have this desires in her blood. But it was him, who was blind. He finally comes to understand, that IT ALL DOESN'T MATTER. The Universe, the blood, the family name don't matter, Ruling the Galaxy doesn't matter, the power doesn't matter, if he wouldn't have her. Suddenly from RULING with her it's just HER. Her safety, her life, and he sees that it was about it all along, he just couldn't admit it to himself. Why would he be running after her throughout the whole movie, right?
Of course this is not so close to P&P but i can see an alternative TROS ending, when Ben lives, he helps restore balance and republic, he sacrifices everything to say "“You must know, surely you must know, it was all for you."
This one here is just a little game with contexts. Hope you like it.
Sorry for any mistakes, I'm not a native speaker and while writting this I'm fighting with an enormous headache, but I truly wanted to share something today.

A Ponderous Rewatch: Battle for the Planet and Cameos
Tumblr media
You know, I keep trying to be minimal with the amount of images I put in these posts, but I think it’s kind of a losing battle…especially when it comes to episodes animated by TMS like the second one coming later on today. I can’t help it, some of the expressions and poses are just too good to not be shared.
In any case, let’s begin with one very small cameo appearance in “Space Probed”:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Our little duo have apparently found themselves abducted by aliens, only to be kept in lab conditions much like the one on Earth at ACME Labs. This is one of those times where I wish I could know the production order of these episodes and not just the air date order… Why? Well, because this small cameo could potentially line up really well with an upcoming episode. Just keep that in mind for now.
With that out of the way, we move on to our next full skit:
Tumblr media
And we begin with the Brain expositing to Pinky about how he came up with the plan for this episode.
Tumblr media
“Halloween, Pinky: 1938. Mercury Radio Theatre presented an adaptation of H. G. Wells’ ‘War of the Worlds’ that was so realistic, people actually fled the cities believing that creatures from Mars were attacking the Earth. It proved that radio was a powerful tool…and now, Pinky, the advance of technology has brought us an even more powerful tool. Do you know what that is?”
Before we move on, how many of you reading this have heard about this? And how many of you know that this is actually an incident that happened in real life? Yes, people actually fled their homes after hearing this broadcast. Not a lot of people, of course. Not by a long shot. Most just made panicked phone calls to their local police station or to the radio station itself to find out what was really going on. The incident also wasn’t nationwide or anything like that, it was quite local. If anything, the radio play caused much more outrage after the fact than initial panic.
Another amusing anecdote is that Orson Welles was the man who directed, narrated, and played a main character in the broadcast. For those of you who may not be in the know, although Brain was initially based on animator and writer Tom Minton at Warner Brothers, Brain’s voice actor Maurice LaMarche based his voice on Orson Welles. Or, well, as Mr. LaMarche puts it: “The Brain is 70 percent Welles, 20 percent Vincent Price, and I don't know, there's another 10 percent of something else in there. I don't know what. Some people think it's Peter Lorre. I don't know what it is.”.
Strong references aside, I’m betting most of you can see the massive holes in the Brain’s plan already. Hoo boy…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Umm… The rubber band?”
Tumblr media
“The workings of your mind are a mystery to me, Pinky.”
Tumblr media
“Ooo! I love a good mystery, Brain!”
Tumblr media
You know, this little sequence with Brain nonchalantly stretching the rubber band while walking away from Pinky and Pinky determinedly holding on until Brain lets go off camera and sends Pinky flying is… Well, I don’t know what it is about it, but it’s kind of cute in a weird slapstick way? Like, it’s hard to tell if Brain did that on purpose to send Pinky flying for not understanding his plan…or if he actually wanted Pinky to follow him and tried to lead him to where he was walking but Pinky thought it was some kind of tug-o-war game and Brain got exasperated and let go of the rubber band.
Either way, Pinky doesn’t seem to mind.
Tumblr media
“Television, Pinky, is our new tool!”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“We will pirate the airwaves and stage a hoax like ‘War of the Worlds’!”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Brain, you’re very good with that lasso. I’m impressed!
Tumblr media
“Three cameras, Brain?”
“Yes… A technique pioneered by the great Desi Arnaz. And with them we will scare the people of the cities, leaving no resistance behind. We will have taken over the world!”
Well, Brain, that technique first being used by Desi Arnaz is a myth (it was more than likely actually pioneered by Jerry Fairbanks around 1947), but I’m going to give you a pass on this because you likely couldn’t fact check this very well at the time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I do have to give Brain credit for being as dramatic as possible while announcing his plan, though. He really does know how to put on a show.
Tumblr media
“Egad, Brain, brilliant!”
And Pinky is, as usual, full of praise and extremely excited about the plan. Look at him clapping and hopping around, aww… I’m starting to think that half the reason Brain goes through with these long, expository explanations of his plans to Pinky despite Pinky not quite following along a lot of the time is just to impress Pinky. Brain needs reassurance and Pinky always provides.
Tumblr media
“Oh! Oh, wait, no, no…”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Why would they be scared of us? We’re so small and we’re practically the size of mice, Brain.”
Tumblr media
“We are mice, Pinky.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Oh, right! Well, there you are, then. Eh heh heh…”
…Okay, so, Pinky also tends to deflate the praise a bit when pointing out potential flaws in the plan like this, but it’s the initial thought that counts.
Tumblr media
Yeah, I know, Brain. I know. But Pinky really is trying to be helpful.
Tumblr media
“It’s not a question of size, Pinky. It’s a question of scale! Watch the monitor.”
“*gasp* Zounds, Brain! You’re gigantic!”
Tumblr media
“Television, Pinky: The Great Deceptor!”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Narf~…”
No, you aren’t seeing things. Pinky just…just stands there in front of the TV looking at live footage of a close-up of Brain and sighs in awe and affection while clasping his little hands together. I don’t even think I need to make a “Fellas, is it gay to--?” joke here. All that’s missing is little hearts appearing around his head.
Tumblr media
We cut to a little while later, where the duo has everything set up for their broadcast. It looks like Pinky must have done the lettering for their props, since it actually looks decent and nothing like Brain’s scrawlings. Yes, I’m going to continue roasting Brain’s terrible penmanship. It amuses me.
Tumblr media
“How is my disguise, Pinky?”
Tumblr media
“OH! Is that you, Brain?!?”
Tumblr media
“You flatter me, Pinky. Now, throw the switch and let us begin…the Battle for the Planet!”
Title drop! Also, aww. To be fair, Brain, I’m not sure Pinky was intending to be flattering so much as he was actually unsure if that really was you or not. But the fact that you took it as flattery is very telling, I think.
Tumblr media
Pinky throws the switch, and the plan is officially underway!
Tumblr media
According to the Animaniacs wiki, these people bear a striking resemblance to Elmyra’s family. If that’s what was intended, this is quite the early omen for the horrible “Pinky, Elmyra, and the Brain” spin-off that was made after the regular PatB spin-off. I don’t think I’m going to fully cover that show in the far future. It’s not the fun kind of terrible…it’s just terrible.
Tumblr media
Oh hey, they were watching Family Matters! Too bad this is many, many years before they could bear witness to Dark Urkle Tribute.
Tumblr media
And there’s Ralph, enjoying coffee and a doughnut.
Tumblr media
And…some TV station broadcast folks. It kinda bothers me that these two basically have the same model except for different hair colours.
Tumblr media
“We interrupt your regular broadcast to bring you this important news bulletin…”
“What is that?!”
“Someone’s pirated the TV lines!”
Tumblr media
“Scientists have just reported that a large, unidentified flying object seems to be heading towards Earth. There is no cause for alarm…”
Tumblr media
“…But there probably will be.”
Subtle, Brain.
Tumblr media
Oh, hi, Warners! You certainly picked a good time to escape tonight.
Tumblr media
“We take you now to our satellite view of the planet, perhaps to catch a glimpse of this fearful courier of the unknown.”
Tumblr media
Cue Pinky making ridiculous “shoosh” and “shoom” and “weee!~” noises. Very convincing.
Tumblr media
“I’ve just received word that the UFO is about to crash land nearby. There should be a great explosion!”
“I said, THERE SHOULD BE A GREAT EXPLOSION!”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Hmm? Oh! OH, right, Brain! Narf!”
Nice blep, pinky.
Tumblr media
Somehow, people watching the broadcast are still terrified. I’ve gotta admit that I didn’t expect this plan to go this well for this long.
Tumblr media
…Okay, maybe I spoke too soon.
“Sorry, Brain…”
Tumblr media
“…We’ll go live to the crash site momentarily.”
He says before near-instantly cutting to the “crash site”, still in the same disguise. Brain, honey, I know you’re probably trying to reduce broadcast downtime so that the audience doesn’t start to question what they’re seeing, but you do know that quick cuts like this ruin the illusion of this being a live broadcast…right?
Oh, who am I kidding? Of course he doesn’t know that. As usual, Brain has tunnel vision and expects his plans to go one certain way, and any details that don’t fit his internal narrative are discarded or not even thought about.
Tumblr media
Just let me slide on in…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“I’m reporting to you live from the crash site and I…I’m at a loss for words. Can we get a shot of this very frightening scene?”
Tumblr media
He’s right. That’s the most frightening…ly obvious cardboard spaceship I have ever seen.
But okay, I love these tiny prop improvisations they had to do. The bare cardboard wings taped to some kind of spray can for the body of the ship, a stray water cooler cup for the cone, test tubes for the thrusters, random little sewing pins for some kind of antenna, a dirty beige blanket to simulate soil for the crash zone… It’s so hastily cobbled together yet so goddamn cute.
Tumblr media
Ralph still seems convinced that this is real, though that isn’t saying much.
Tumblr media
“I am now positioned close to the…well, I can only assume that this is a vehicle from outer space, its occupants here to destroy the Earth.”
“Oooo!~ OoooOOOooo!~”
“Wait! There is a strange noise emanating from inside. Something seems to be coming out of the ship!”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They made a glove into an alien space suit with a tiny peephole to accommodate Pinky’s face and they fashioned a little belt from something for it, aaaaa! This is so adorable! Look at Pinky trying to be scary! He’s just all >:B throughout this entire scene.
Tumblr media
BUG FOGGER
WARNING
CONTENTS UNDE
EXTREME PRESS
GAS
I’m wondering why they couldn’t label it as “bug spray”. I’ve honestly never heard of it being called “bug fogger”. Is that an American thing? (Also: Tiny sandbag wall!)
Tumblr media
“Oh my! It’s hideous! Ladies and gentlemen, I can hardly describe this terrifying creature before me, except to say: Run for your lives! Go on! Empty the cities! Leave everything behind!”
Tumblr media
“I…I don’t know how long I can stay on the air. I’ll try to get to our aerial view in chopper five!”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okay, it seems even Elmyra’s family and the broadcast folks are still under the impression that this is actually happening. And Brain instantly cuts again to the aerial view. Brain, I think you’ve been watching too many movies.
Tumblr media
“Chopper five, high above the city. The horrible creatures from Mars…invading…destroying everything in their path! Oh, the humanity!”
Since this is a still image the impact is lessened but Brain is rapidly beating his fist against his side to simulate the sound of helicopter blades and it’s actually pretty effective. Well done, lil guy, I never would’ve thought to do something like that. Your foley work is great!
Tumblr media
The milk carton buildings still have straws in them to make chimneys! There’s little Chinese takeout boxes as buildings, too! I’m so charmed by all these quaint ways they’ve made their props.
Also, the Pinky-alien has apparently grown to kaiju size now, somehow. Brain, you’ve got to make your hoax at least a little consistent!
Tumblr media
“This is no hoax, ladies and gentlemen. I urge you to run for your lives while you can! We’re not making this up just so we can take over the world!”
Goddamnit, Brain. You are the worst liar in the history of forever.
Tumblr media
“Oh no! It’s heading this way! Run for your lives! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I just thought these cowering poses Brain did were funny and cute. He is so small and vulnerable…
Tumblr media
So Pinky starts to menace the camera itself and—
Tumblr media Tumblr media
—Oops. This isn’t going to go well.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Poor, poor Pinky.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“We did it, Pinky. Brilliant performance!”
Holy shit, sincere praise from Brain! I’m sure Pinky will treasure it.
Tumblr media
“Undoubtedly, the population has fled in fear from their ‘terrifying enemy’, HA!”
Umm. About that, Brain…
Tumblr media
“Let us make haste…to The White House!”
Tumblr media
Brain, you may want to at least wait a little while so that people can actually—
Tumblr media
Ouch.
Tumblr media
WOW, who needs Twitter in this universe when the press is this fast?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“’Battle for the Planet is a comedy smash… World laughs together. Stay home for this one!’”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Pinky, are you pondering what I’m pondering?”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Well, I think so, Brain…but if we didn’t have ears, we’d look like weasels.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“[sighs] No, Pinky… Our hoax…no one went anywhere! No one fled the cities! They found us…humorous.”
If it helps any, boys, I also found you incredibly adorable.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Where are you going, Brain?”
“Back to our cage, Pinky. We must plan for tomorrow night.”
Tumblr media
“Why? What are we going to do tomorrow night?”
I like how Pinky is at first concerned about Brain’s mood and then we he sees that Brain is just walking home to plan for tomorrow night he’s bouncing on his tip-toes after him.
Tumblr media
“The same thing we do every night, Pinky: Try to take over the world!”
TO BE CONTINUED because apparently Tumblr finds this post too long otherwise,
