CACW brainrot again cus I just rewatched the movie
when Steve dropped that shield, I think it's more than just a fuck you to Tony and CA symbol. put that scene into context: Tony said "you don't deserve that shield. my father made that shield." and they just watched the tape of the Winter Soldier murdering Howard and Maria Stark.
Steve wasn't just choosing Bucky over the Avengers, he was choosing Bucky over the past - a past he used to be unable to expel from his mind. He was a man out of time, he missed his past, his very much dead friends so much he was isolated, didn't make new friends, he visited his own museum just to see his dead old pals.
we often talk about what Peggy's death means and what Steve renouncing the shield means, but the role of Howard is often overlooked. by including HS, Steve in CACW completely cut ties with 'the good old time' that wasn't Bucky (I'd say he still misses the Howlies but they never have any recognition post catfa...). Again I think it reiterates the theme of CACW which is 1. Steve would choose Bucky over anyone (eps. some colleague he never liked) and 2. he has moved on from 'the man out of time' because he's found his home in first and foremost Bucky, and in members of team cap.

unexpected fav house md episodes (the eps i didnt remember appreciating as much as i do now) per season in my rewatch so far:
Season 1: maternity (wilson genuinely pissed, cameron genuinely fucked up. why did wilson call cameron “allison” only when she was new. you’re not subtle)
Season 2: safe (imagine waking up with a hand in a bucket of water, going to work then seeing your fuckass roommate who did it look at you with big desperate eyes and you feel the need to lie for him just to give time for him to do malpractice in the elevator. you do this without a word of prior agreement or prior knowledge of the case. you just do that. For him. right after he made you wet the couch)
Season 3: act your age (cuddy sent me flowers B plot is so [chefs kiss]. the expression all 3 involved make are so fucking funny)
Season 4: you don’t want to know (i think house and that magician would have fucked under different circumstances)
Season 5: unfaithful (sorry im catholic. so)

i think the collective 911 New Season Resolution should be to give the show room to breathe. yes sometimes things happen that don’t make sense, or characters make decisions that are annoying. but in almost 100 episodes of this show, rarely has there been anything done for no reason or something that wasn’t circled back to at one point or another. maybe we can just trust the writers with their own material for like a minute. and maybe if we don’t like it we can just stop watching and stop making how upset we are everyone else’s problem

Tom's line about Shiv being selfish and "find[ing] it very hard to think about me" is actually so telling because while it's absolutely true that she rarely takes his position into consideration, Tom never once thinks about what he can do to help Shiv unless it also benefits him.
Every single time he makes a move or sacrifice that might help her, it's always something that he thinks will give him a leg up. He volunteers to take the fall for cruises, not for Shiv, who is in no way implicated, or even for Waystar, but because he thinks it'll ingratiate him to Logan, and the second it seems like he might have to actually follow through on that, he immediately tries to get out of it and even throws Shiv under the bus. Meanwhile, for all that Shiv disregards his interests, there are a number of things she does that only help him, and she's the one who actually sacrifices something and undermines her position with Logan to beg him not to let Tom go to jail.
It just makes it so clear that no matter how much he might love her (and I think he does, in his own compromised way), for him their relationship was always built on the underlying assumption that it's her job to prop him up, but it's not his job to help her.

hater alert! far too many people say that juri’s character arc ‘isn’t about her being sad about being gay, it’s about being sad about unrequited love that happens to be gay’ and. well. that is not true and by saying that you are completely flattening the brilliance of juri’s character arc which literally culminates in her being able to accept her own lesbianism despite her unrequited love, despite all her shame and self-loathing, despite this pursuit by Some Fucking Guy to try and ‘save’ her from these feelings. like if you think juri’s entire character is just ‘sad about shiori’ how do you appreciate even a modicum of the emotion packed into that final juri duel. it is both about shiori and, even broader, her lesbian identity and what that means to her intrinsically as a person, removed from romantic relationships and just purely as like. you know. Who She Is. the idea that even when juri’s locket is cut from her neck she is still a lesbian that’s still who she is and she cant change that and, crucially, she doesn’t want to even as she is agonised by these feelings. that’s why she forfeits the duel!!!! she’s clocking out she’s quitting she’s saying no!!!!!! this is me and ive got to be ok with that this is me and i can accept that this girl might not love me and i can keep living despite that. like. god im so normal arisugawa juri im so sorry that no one understands you and your intrinsically unapologetically lesbian storyline like i do

ASIANDRAMANET SECRET SANTA 🎁
There is no democracy in any love relation: only mercy. To be at someone’s mercy is dialectical damage: they may be merciful and they may be merciless. (insp.)

do you have favourite Crocodile face?
the one he makes at the end of chapter 540, vol. 55 is seared straight into my soul. he almost went }:3 and I cannot deal with it like a normal human being. I love his facial expressions, those sad eyebrows are *chef's kiss* 💚🐊
Ah yes, this one, right?
It's a hilarious expression and definitely an underrated one kjshdfjgkghf Like we've seen him smiling plenty of times before this, with that classic evil grin we all know and love, so something about this panel is so funny to me, like if it wasn't for the hollow look in his eyes he'd look almost mischievous here and I love that. He's up to no good and he knows it dsjkfhgshdfghkdjf
IDK if I have a favorite expression from Crocodile, typically my favorites are just the really meme'able, funny expressions and this man does not have any of those to offer (which is fine really), and really every panel he appears in during Impel Down + Marineford are fantastic, Oda kept us so well-fed
I think I'll give a shout-out to this panel though, because while I think this man was already irreversibly changing my brain chemistry (while I was falling down the Crocodad Rabbithole and re-reading Marineford obsessively), I think this is the panel that finally kind of broke me
Like I think it was this panel (from chapter 577) that finally made me go "wait, am I losing it or is Crocodile kinda handsome" lmfao

So Iruma ‘defeated’ Asmodeus on the first day of school meaning that Asmodeus became Iruma’s attendant. I can’t remember if it was fanon or canon that said that, if one demon defeats another, the other will become subservient... just long enough to learn their power and defeat them. I absolutely think this was the case for Asmodeus in the early parts of the story.
That’s not to say Asmodeus didn’t like Iruma, I think he found himself surprised had how open and generous his supposed master was. But even as Asmodeus became Azz-kun, loosened up and genuinely began enjoying hanging with Iruma, I don’t think his true devotion cemented until the Royal One. Even with Azz as Iruma’s attendant, I still feel like he probably intended to break off at some or even just focus more on his own growth. But watching Iruma unleash his potential to obtain the Royal One, to unite the disconnected, selfish Misfits for a common goal and overcome the social norms of the demon world. I think that’s when Azz fully decided ‘yeah this is the demon I will devote myself entirely to.’
