Pirate AU!! Thank you @stringofturtles for watching OFMD S1 with me and re-igniting my Pirate Emotions so I had the motivation to finish this. The first sketches have been sitting in my files for months so please forgive the fact that they look different skdfjh.

More fleshed out AU details under the cut !! :D

- The kids are a little older than canon - the third years in their early 20s - but the story still starts with the second and third years as an established crew who then pick up the first years and the coaches.

- Daichi as a Captain is of course very much like he is in canon. He works very hard to take care of his crew and takes on a huge responsibility for providing for them (as well as making sure they don’t die in idiotic ways). Suga is First Mate so it’s his job to make sure DAICHI is okay and not worrying himself to death. He also has a good handle on morale/the emotional state of the crew.

- Asahi is the first line of offence when dealing with other ships. He doesn’t like actually hurting people, but he’s good at breaking ranks and barrelling through defences to get hold of whatever Karasuno needs. He was ‘off the team’ and out of commission for a little while after he lost his hand (not seeing combat while he was in recovery, and needing to build up his courage again). Noya played a huge part in helping him back onto his feet, and has been kind of protective ever since.

- Noya’s job is to make sure the ship isn’t boarded, so he very rarely leaves it.

- Ennoshita and Kiyoko work together as navigators and managing the little money the crew has. Ennoshita is the only crew member in the beginning who can kind-of read (Kiyoko can only read a little), and they work a lot with maps and planning out journeys.

- Tanaka is great at intimidating opponents. His eyepatch is totally for show - he thinks it makes him look cooler and scarier. His parrot doesn’t often co-operate with him.

- Narita and Kinoshita take care of maintenance and supplies and making sure there isn’t gunpowder anywhere there shouldn’t be, as well as things like fraying rigging and rotting boards/canons secure and the like. Of course, things like that are everyone’s responsibility, but these two consider is theirs particularly. It’s thankless work but the boat would definitely have burned down by now if not for them.

- Enter the first years!

- Kageyama is a prodigy swordsman with a huge reputation as a lethal pirate, although most people who spread those rumours don’t realise he’s as young as he is. He was marooned by his previous crew for being a controlling Captain (who should never have been captain in the first place, having only his fighting talent as the real reason).

- Hinata recently ran away from home to “become a pirate” without much of an idea what that actually entailed, and ran into Kageyama without knowing his reputation. All he knew was that this guy was incredible fighter, and he demanded that he teach him to fight! He now won’t leave him alone.

- Tsukishima ran away as a very young child in an attempt to find Akiteru, whose sailing ship was attacked and lost at sea. He fell in with pirates along with Yamaguchi (who was picked up after surviving a shipwreck), and the pair ended up sticking together as they bounced from ship to ship, ready to run whenever it seemed like tensions were getting high. They (read: tsukki) are going to need to break this habit, if they’re going to be a real part of this new crew.

- Tsukishima and Yamaguchi can’t sleep if they’re not in the same hammock. Embarrassing. The reason Yamaguchi was so tiny as a little kid is that he didn’t get enough food. Tsukishima still tries to sneak him extra (and gets in trouble with Daichi).

- Tadashi ends up as a sharpshooter, one of the few kids who’s confident using a pistol

- Hinata and Kageyama spar together all the time. It’s GOING to end in a make-out the first time Hinata successfully beats him.

- Neither of them have noticed that Tanaka’s eyepatch switches sides.

- Yachi is picked up when the crew stop in a bar in her town. She’s a better-off girl, about to be talked into an politically advantageous marriage, and desperately wants to get out of her situation. “Running away with pirates” was admittedly pretty drastic, but anything sounds like a good idea when Hinata suggests it so sincerely!!

- Ukai is a washed up older pirate, without a crew. Takeda is a very unlucky literature teacher who just happened to be on a sea voyage. They both ended up taken as hostages by the same (meaner) pirate crew, who were then stolen by the Karasuno kids. Although, it’s kind of unclear at this point whether they’re actually prisoners… They’re being treated very nicely (especially Sensei) and are in danger of getting attached…

Kanoka/Tanaka/Ennoshita:

Not Canon. I know one of these characters has a canon partner at the end who is not included here. Quite frankly that's just because I'm very neutral on that canon relationship, and I'd rather see those characters as friends. That girl is a lesbian to me. Moving on, it's been a while since I finished the manga, but I do remember shipping Ennoshita and Tanaka first, I think it's the sports anime fandom thing where everyone is gay and these two made sense to me. Closer (ish) to the end of the manga we meet Kanoka, a childhood friend of Tanaka's, who's had a crush on him for years. She's adorable and I think they are cute together. I like that she decided to focus on the tournament, but I wish they would have dated afterwards, it makes more sense to me. I see them as a V rather than a triangle, with Tanaka in the center.

Midna/Zelda/Link:

Not Canon. It's been so long since I played Twilight Princess that I don't remember story details but this was my favorite Zelda polyship for a long time, and Twilight Princess was the first Zelda game I beat, so I had to add them here. If you played the game I assume you either agree with me or you have no ships which is fine. But if you separate them I respectfully think you're incorrect. They are a triangle, but I see Link and Midna as queerplatonic rather than romantic, while Zelda is romantic with both of them.

HAIKYUU SEXUALITY HEADCANONS

🦉 Fukurodani Edition 🦉

Washio Tatsuki: Gay. When I first sat down and decided to give most of these characters a sexuality headcanon, I saw him and my first thought was "yeah there is no way he is into women." So I cannot for the life of me see him as anything other than a functional gay man. He definitely thinks Konoha and Akaashi are very pretty. Also thinks that Inarizaki's #2 middle blocker is very handsome.

Sarukui Yamoto: Bisexual with a female preference. I honestly really ship him with Shirofuku and I have no idea why. I just went "they are totally dating" one day and it's kind of just stuck. But I can also see him getting together with Komi or even just another boy (on his team or not) in general. He's a bit of a bi disaster sometimes but he's mostly functioning. Totally refers to Shirofuku as his wife later in their relationship.

Bokuto Koutarou: Pansexual. Now I know what you're all probably thinking. And I'm not gonna lie and say you aren't right, but you're only half right. I can see Bokuto having the ability to love someone SO much. He loves anyone and everyone. Obviously has a thing for Akaashi but also thinks Konoha is very pretty and handsome. Thought Shirofuku was very beautiful when he saw her for the first time. Total b(romance) with Kuroo.

Akaashi Keiji: Pansexual. I am quite unsure why I think this label fits him so well. Obviously he has an thing for Bokuto, but I can also see him falling in love with Ennoshita or Konoha. Thinks Suzumeda is very pretty as a female and could see himself dating her if he felt any attraction towards her. He's still a bit unsure of his identity, but he likes the label pansexual so he sticks with it despite what anyone else says.

Konoha Akinori: Bisexual with no preference. So I sort of saw him as gay when I first started making headcanon lists. Then I started seeing the potential of him with girls and decided he would be bisexual. Now he has had crushes on every single one of his teammates, cause he just loves easily like that, but Washio, Komi and Akaashi are the only ones still going strong. Thinks the managers are too pretty for this world. Also thinks that Kai is very very handsome and that he wouldn't mind kissing him–

Onaga Wataru: Panromantic Asexual. Now he gives me the vibe of a sex repulsed asexual. He's still a bit nervous about the label though because it's all very new to him. Romantically, I can see him be interested in everyone on the team at least once. Definitely nursed a puppy crush on Bokuto during his first few months as a first year. Thinks Akaashi is very pretty (like everyone else though for real). He thinks Washio is so goddamn handsome it is not even funny, like holy shit please praise his blocks more–

Komi Haruki: Pansexual. Can and will hit on anything that doesn't say no. He's always on the lookout for somebody to love. Has the tiniest little crush on Konoha. Appreciates the fact that both Washio and Bokuto can bench press him with those tree trunks they have for arms. Thinks Onaga is cute but like in a boyish way. Probably had a puppy crush on Suzumeda in their first year after he saw her giggle at something stupid Bokuto did.

Suzumeda Kaori: Straight Asexual. Now contrary to what the rest of the fandom headcanons her as, I just cannot see her crushing on any girls. I also see her as sex repulsed like Onaga, hence her joking with the team about how her and Onaga are the team's "real aces". She's very supportive of her teammates and will punch someone out if they give her team any trouble.

Shirofuku Yukie: Straight. Now I would be lying if I said shipping her with Sarukui had nothing to do with if, but similarly to Suzumeda I just cannot see her being interested in other girls at all. She's very comfortable with herself and her identity and is very supportive of the rest of the team. She does think Bokuto is cute, but in a "not attracted to you" kind of way. Probably dated a boy or two in junior high before Sarukui.

i like it platonically: this goes for most of these ships. i really love that they’re coworkers/friends/Perhaps Lovers all at once, and how far they’ve come, brought together by both the sport itself and the kids. i go crazy over relationship progression and the whole how it started/how it’s going, because they developed as much as the team did! they helped each other grow too! they go out drinking together and they talk and joke and they’re !!!!!!!!!

i’d die for them: yeah.

their impact/their story is more interesting than the ship itself: this also goes for a lot of the ships i enjoy in this fandom; their role as mentors as well as them as characters is such a huge draw for me. it’s their combined efforts that help bring out karasuno’s skills and teamwork abilities; they wouldn’t have been able to do it on their own, and they know it!

i love them!

would/do read fic about it: i don’t read fic for them specifically as much as i do other ships, but they’re cute :)

final verdict: don’t talk to them or any of their 14 children ever again

i like it platonically: i like that outside of a game tendou has a tendency to big-brother the younger players around him, and i like his little moments with hinata during the ball boy arc, especially because they’re still playing the same positions at that point and tendou serves as a bit of a mentor. it’s sweet, and i think they have the potential to be friends further down the line too! tendou has more common sense but they both love volleyball and i think after a little initial adjustment hinata would love tendou’s antics; plus, as a general rule he’s just really good at meeting people and rolling with their oddities—not that they escape him poking fun at it, but i mean. kageyama and tsukishima can both be super abrasive whether they mean to (tsukishima) or not (kageyama), and he’s really close friends with them even years after leaving high school.

not my thing: i can’t really see them as anything else and i don’t see much appeal as a ship :/

i like it platonically: i really like their mentor/student relationship and how kuroo sees this prickly beanpole who’s not reaching his potential and fucking Locks On and immediately appoints himself to be another Obnoxious Big Brother. i also really love their growth together and how both of them inspire one another to do better—The Friendly Rivalries, Man. The Friendly Rivalries. plus they’re both snarky and that delights me.

the impact/their story is more interesting than the ship itself: “each of us is, to the other, a teacher” hey what if i burst into tears. i love these guys.

not my thing: i love their friendship and kuroo’s fondness paired with tsukishima’s resigned-tolerance-turned-genuine-liking, but i see it much more as a brotherly and mentor-and-student situation and those vibes are why this is one of the few ships in this fandom that i actively dislike hfnsnck. no shade to those who enjoy it, of course, and i don’t necessarily…hate it? but it’s really not for me.

fandom ruined/is ruining them: i’ve said it before but i don’t care for either of their fanon interpretations and. yikés. really not liking the fanon dynamics assigned to them.

i like it platonically: i like the second years a lot! they’re cool guys and i like how these two complement each other quite a bit, with ennoshita being much more level-headed and tanaka having the indomitable spirit and motivation. i’m really glad they’re friends in canon and i’d love to see more—they’re so different but they’re so good working together, y’know?

aesthetically it’s GREAT: physically ennoshita is Just Some Guy and tanaka canonically has delinquent vibes, and while ennoshita’s usually the voice of reason the second you get on both their bad sides it’s over for you. also i’m convinced that ennoshita’s 1000% scarier than tanaka when he needs to be.

Who’s teaching who to dance:

Or alternate title: ships in Haikyuu with dancing because that’s basically what this has become

Daisuga: I’ve got a couple of ideas for this. Well, I was thinking perhaps it wouldn’t really be so much of a who taught who to dance rather than Daichi once saw a glimpse of Suga dancing by himself as he did something or something along those lines and he decided to go learn how to dance by himself so that he can surprise Suga by offering to dance with him at their graduation. Or Suga just whisked Daichi onto the dance floor despite him not knowing how to dance and getting an impromptu dance lesson from Suga which was way more vague than it should’ve been but they end up having fun anyway.

Asanoya: Probably Nishinoya but I also like the idea of Asahi shyly asking Noya if he’d like to dance with Suga being a chaotic wingman in the background

Kagehina: ah, yes, good old Kagehina... this would, in a very them way, end in them trying to out dance each other and prove that they’re better at dancing when really, neither of them are that good and the increased blood pressure of all the third years while Noya and Tanaka cheer them on and Ennoshita’s respect for the third years shoot up. But chaos. Just chaos.

Tsukkiyama: Yamaguchi would have to quite literally drag Tsukki to anything dance related until Tsukki sees how happy it makes Yams and decides that he should probably try to be more... I can’t find the right word but he basically ends up asking Yams to teach him and Yams lights up brighter than a Christmas tree and it’s pretty cute too

Kuroken: Oh! For this one, I was thinking, the both of them probably don’t know how to dance and their dancing is based purely off rough estimates and poor imitations of movies and when they do dance together, it’s mostly jokingly and probably making fun of something or someone as they snicker away (they would be so chaotic and in the best way to have at all those fancy rich people parties) right, in other words, neither of them really taught each other how to dance? And I think I’d sorta prefer it this way

Yakulev: Don’t get me wrong, I love my height difference ships and all but regardless of who’s teaching it, I feel like it’d end in chaos either way with them ending up getting ice cream at the nearby McDonald’s instead (I love the vanilla cone they have there)

Bokuaka: This is the couple who dances under moonlight and with Bokuto whisking Akaashi up to dance after he’s stressed and overworking himself. Eh, that aside, I kinda like the idea of Akaashi teaching Bokuto how to dance. Oh and fic idea, imagine Akaashi teaching Bokuto how to dance for the school graduation party because he supposedly wants to dance with this girl and doesn’t want to scare her off with bad dancing and Akaashi’s a little dejected but does so anyway until Bokuto instead, asks Akaashi if he may have this dance (the so called girl he wanted to dance with was not real) the night he graduates with a fancy confession (when I say fancy, what I really mean is a very Bokuto confession because what better type of confession is there?)

Iwaoi: It’s either Oikawa, probably most probable or, and I find this cute and honestly personally prefer it, Iwaizumi somehow learnt how to dance from maybe his parents and ends up teaching Oikawa. Whether Oikawa easily surpasses his teacher, that I haven’t decided. Or they learnt it at the same time, one of them dragging the other to learn dancing (as for which one, I see it going both ways, Oikawa because well, I don’t think it needs much explanation and Iwaizumi probably because he thinks of it as good exercise)

Would it be surprising if I said I’ve never danced before and only like the concept of dancing in theory?

MHA x Haikyuu!! brainrot, Men's VBC edition

@imnotafan-art you asked, I braindump!

1) Bakugo - wing spiker/Ace, because he's literally a cannon. Tremendous offensive abilities, and w while he's a good tactician I don't personally see him as patient enough for the delayed-gratification of setting.

2) Midoriya, on the other hand, is both crazy aware of all his team's capabilities and patient. Prodigy starting setter, sometimes needs work on confidence. (Bonus round for Midoriya and Bakugo having Junior High Issues, inverting Kageyama and Hinata's relationship on the court. No necessary shipper implications there, I am ship agnostic)

3) Todoroki - four words: Heaven Piercing Ice Wall (3 more: Older Sibling Issues, to extend the parallel). Strong with defense, has to be pushed into aggression but once he's there can produce. Middle blocker.

4) Sero - backup setter. Makes connections (hah) with everybody, cheerful trickster energy good for misdirection.

5) Tokoyami - a unique individual with tremendous powers behind the scenes/in the shadows. Libero.

6) Shoji - Probably a middle blocker, man's an Iron Wall all by himself. Could also see him as a wing spiker/outside hitter, he gives me that Asahi gentle-bear kind of awkwardness until he gets fired up.

7) Iida - wing spiker/opposite hitter. this guy's all about teamwork, making sure everybody's OK and good fundamentals. Workhorse/team captain.

a/n: ah yes, so winter (@/wackatoshi) and I planned out this entire mall universe for the hq boys and it’s the funniest thing to think about. y’all know those rude zara employees at the mall who judge you as soon as you walk in and tell you that “everything’s out on the floor already” when you ask for a size up? and all the racks on the floor are in shambles? that’s what inspired this. not sure if another installment will be added to this, but whatever! for reference, the other employees: oikawa, ennoshita, kuroo, hanamaki.

the worst person to work with... ever

he completely fits the stereotype of zara employee

will go on his lunch break, but “accidentally” forget to clock out, so he’s still earning cash for eating his sandwich in the back. also prolongs his breaks by at least 5 minutes

can never be found when there’s a rush. and by the time they DO find him, the store is completely empty

comes in late, but leaves as soon as his shift ends

never comes to the store on his days off and whenever the managers text him asking if he can pick up a shift he says he’s “busy”

everyone knows it’s a lie. one time ennoshita, the manager, went on his break and saw futakuchi buying a pretzel at the auntie anne's from the mall food court even though he texted ennoshita like thirty minutes ago that he already had important plans for the day. futakuchi made direct eye contact with him as he took a bite into his pretzel, not the least bit apologetic about lying

all his coworkers wonder how he still has this job

spends most of his shift complaining about working than actually working

when people ask if there are any other sizes in the back, he’ll go to the storage room, play on his phone for 5 minutes, and then walk out to the customer and tell them that they're out of stock

will say he’s doing go-backs, but in reality he’s just walking around the store in circles to avoid work

when he’s REALLY annoyed he sometimes won’t even wear his name tag on the floor so the customers don’t know if he works there and will leave him alone

doesn’t even try to hide how disgruntled he is with work, will literally say “I hate this job” loud enough for customers to hear when he’s shit talking with oikawa behind the register. does loud audible sighs when a customer comes up to check out if he’s in the middle of telling a story

awful at folding the clothes. he might as well just compress all the shirts into a ball and toss them into the bag instead

DESPISES CLOSING WITH A PASSION. he hates staying back even five minutes to pick clothes off from the ground. will literally curse that the company is so inconsiderate of his time even though he clocked in late to his shift...

if you’re on shift with him be prepared to do all the work... go see a chiropractor cuz you’ll basically be carrying him on your back the whole time!

he also finds the most creative ways to get others to do his work for him. his usual victim is hanamaki. he’ll go up to him and say “hey, do you mind folding up all the shirts in zone B for me? ennoshita asked me to organize the back since we’re doing new promos tomorrow” and hanamaki’s so clueless and goes “yeah! sure dude, I got it!”

futakuchi doesn’t organize in the back, he hides behind all the boxes while crouched down on his phone for about twenty minutes before going out on the floor again

someone save hanamaki he’s literally doing futakuchi’s work for him... poor boy needs a RAISE

you actually don’t work at the store futakuchi works at, you’re a part timer at another nearby store

during the holiday season the zara futakuchi works at gets super busy and you take a few extra shifts there to help out

you and futakuchi have an... interesting relationship

first thing you say when you see him during the holiday season: “you haven’t been fired yet?”

he’s rolling his eyes going “oh haha. very funny. saw you were at the bottom of sales last week. that’s probably why you’re always getting transferred here, huh.”

you two are constantly snapping back at each other, even when you’re ringing other people up at the registers. the customers are standing there awkwardly as you two scan and passive aggressively insult each other

it’s so weird, like you two are so mean to each other, but at the same time you’re both practically attached to the hip during your shifts together

futakuchi is more... punctual during the holiday season and even takes a COUPLE EXTRA SHIFTS which floors ennoshita (he’s so moved, he thinks futakuchi has had a change of heart and is trying to improve his work ethic... buddy that’s not it, I’m so sorry)

every time you clock in, futakuchi is there too and you’re going. oh great. not this guy again. it’s like clockwork, as soon as your shift starts, you’re at each others’ neck

when you diss the way he folds clothes, he’s scrutinizing your high pitched customer service voice

at first the other guys are laughing at what’s going on between you two and they’re thinking you two are Mortal Enemies For Life

but then they start noticing little by little that your relationship with futakuchi isn’t like that at all

when you’re scolding futakuchi with his awful folding, you take the time to show him all the steps to make a clean display free of wrinkles. he’s standing next to you trying to imitate the way your hands work on the fabric. he adds in a few snarky comments here and there, but you hush him as you’re giving instructions

and when you’ve got a huge rack of clothes from the dressing room that need to go back on the floor, futakuchi offers to help you put them away. he’ll say “ennoshita told me to help out” and you brush it off, but he’s actually lying. he’s helping you on his own accord

he has his asshole persona to keep up with, so he’s still sliding in snide remarks, but you’re so used to it and can keep up with him that he’s always on his toes. he likes this back and forth with you

one day, kuroo starts talking about you with futakuchi to get the 411 on what’s going on between you two. futakuchi denies it all until kuroo starts teasing him by saying he’ll ask you on a date. that’s when futakuchi’s going. wait what

“yeah, there’s a nice restaurant about ten minutes from here and I think going there on a date would really—”

futakuchi starts internally freaking out. he’s going “oh. a date. at a nice italian restaurant near here. wow.”

and kuroo’s got a nice lopsided grin because HE KNOWS and he’s still egging him on

that’s when it finally hits futakuchi. he... he likes you. He Likes You A Lot

the tips of his ears start turning red at this sudden revelation

and upon seeing this kuroo’s like "Alright bud, I was just messing with you. But if you don’t ask her out on a date then I sure as hell will!"

futakuchi’s going alright man give me like a week

Bro futakuchi is even MEANER to you than he was before because he Likes you and Doesn’t Know How To Deal With His Feelings since he’s got the emotional capacity of a grade schooler

futakuchi: wow. that blouse you’re wearing. it suits you.

you: really? thank you I think the color—

futakuchi: yeah. it’s ugly. like you.

kuroo’s watching the exchange from the register completely horrified. he’s like. what have I done. futakuchi whips his head over with pleading eyes when you tell him to shove it and kuroo’s shaking his head thinking “I never should have gotten involved”

he’s in too deep already and when you leave the floor to help ennoshita with the stockroom, kuroo has another one-on-one with futakuchi. he tells him the basics like “Don’t call the person you like Ugly”

“well what else am I supposed to say”

truly a lost cause...

it’s like talking to a wall with futakuchi. kuroo’s telling him to be polite and sweet to you and futakuchi’s nodding his head in understanding, but as soon as he’s within a 3ft radius near you his brain is thinking “insult them for attention” kuroo’s like DUDE. WHAT DID I SAY.

this sad exchange goes on for a week and by then kuroo’s like. I give up on you. I can’t deal with this and the holiday rush. he’s waving up the white flag

futakuchi’s been kinda meaner to you than before, so you start ignoring him a bit and he’s getting so frustrated with himself that he doesn’t even know what to do and kuroo notices you two not talking AT ALL during a shift and he’s like. Futakuchi. Just Confess Already. Jesus.

futakuchi wishes he never realized he likes you because he wants to go back to those work days when you two would be Kinda Cheeky towards each other and everything was lax

the confession happens when ennoshita assigns you and futakuchi to work on orders in the back room. at first, futakuchi was trying to find hanamaki to do the work for him, but was promptly dragged by ennoshita to the back. there was no getting out of this

when he saunters on in, he sees you’re already printing out the shipping labels and folding up boxes and it’s silent, your back is facing him and he can definitely feel something is wrong

you saw him searching for hanamaki on the floor and it hurt your feelings because were you that insufferable to work with?

there’s silence between you two and then you break it and tell him that he can go back on the floor if he doesn’t want to work with you

and he can sense the hurt in your voice and he’s like... no, no, no that isn’t it

He had tried to confess multiple times but you were always occupied.

When you and Ennoshita get really close and have to much skin-ship he would send glares and almost break anything close or in his hand, When Ennoshita and Tsukishima have eye to eye contact Ennoshita would smirk and kiss your cheek to taunt tsukii.

You couldn’t help but slam your head against your desk. Ennoshita sighed at your predicament when it came to the crush you had on your upperclassman, Sugawara Koushi. Except, to you he was so much more. Not in just the fact that he was your crush but he’s been someone you’ve known for almost your entire life. 

“What if he doesn’t like me, Ennoshita,” you cried into your arms, not able to take the heartbreak that could come with Sugawara rejecting your feelings and your 10+ year friendship turning to dogshit. 

Ennoshita tapped his fingers against the desk, “I don’t think he’d break off your friendship just like that even if he didn’t. And if he doesn’t like you I personally give you permission to murder myself and-or Tanaka, your choice.” 

In a different class at the time, Tanaka sneezed in the middle of eating his sandwich. 

At this point, Ennoshita, and every other club member, was tired. Even Sugawara would shrug when Daichi asked him in the clubroom what was going on between him and you. Asahi, the one who was possibly the most oblivious when it came to people pining for another, was even frustrated at how the two of you would dance around each other. 

“Why don’t you just ask them out?” Asahi asked Sugawara. In the middle of changing, Sugawara stopped in thought, his shirt barely on. 

“Hmm, I don’t want to ask them before they’re ready,” Sugawara answered simply, sliding his shirt on over his head. 

It was a rough life being friends with both you and Sugawara. 

It was sort of sweet though, no? The fact that Sugawara wanted to wait till you were ready. He knew about your anxieties when it came to relationships. It wasn’t that your past relationships were bad, per se, but rather any time you’d enter one the anxieties just came through. Sometimes it’d be insecurities or suddenly the red flags would pop up. It was as if entering the relationship made you realize how much of a terrible person the other was. 

You didn’t want that for Koushi. So he’d wait, wait till you’re comfortable to talk things out. But he will admit that it is maybe a little frustrating some days. 

Especially, especially, the days when you’re closer than usually. Physically. Emotionally.

Some days you’d find yourself lying in Koushi’s bed after finishing a bit of homework. He’d be sitting on the floor at the table, still working the last few problems. You’d both have a small conversation, something to fill the room while he finished up. Then he’d crawl into bed, next to you. 

“Just like when we were kids, right?” He’d grin at you, and you couldn’t help the way you felt your cheeks heat up. 

“Yeah, just like when we were kids,” you’d reply and reach out for his hands, shifting to lay on your side. Koushi doing the same and inching even closer to you. He’d bring your hands up to chest level, playing with your fingers just like he’d do when the two of you were younger. 

And then the two of you would fall asleep. His arm draped over your waist, pulling you close into his chest with your legs tangled with his. 

You always fell asleep last, always so anxious about the whole ordeal. It’s different sleeping and cuddling together when you’re older compared to when you were both younger. 

When you were younger it was just platonic feelings. And now that you’re both older and know about romantic feelings, well, something bloomed between the two of you. 

Before you’d fall asleep you’d stare up at his soft face, your fingers slightly hovering over his face and especially over the beauty mark that you loved so much. He was no longer embarrassed about it like he used to be (because of you and your adoration for it). Then your hand would return back to resting on his chest and you’d nuzzle your head into him as well. 

Koushi’s breathing always soothed you; it was deep and heavy. Always peaceful as you watched his chest rise and fall. You nuzzled your face into him even deeper if it was possible, your fingers lightly tapping against his sturdy chest. 

He smelled a bit like lavender. It was subtle, sweet and calming. There were a few other scents too but they weren’t overbearing and never quite lingered in your nose like the lavender scent. Yeah, being with him felt like home. Even when—no—especially when your own home didn’t feel like home. You felt comfortable with him, like it was you and him versus the world. This felt natural, normal. 

The lingering glances, the subtle touches. 

I think it was safe to say that you’re in love. You felt stupid for saying so, even thinking so. You are in high school, barely seventeen as a second year. People would always cringe when high schoolers said they were in love. 

But no one can invalidate your feelings. Only you knew what you felt and no one could say otherwise. 

You’re in love with Sugawara Koushi and it didn’t scare you.

You knew him better than you knew yourself and you were sure he felt the same about you, knowing you well, I mean. You still weren’t sure if he returned your feelings. 

That’s how you found yourself outside his house, standing in front of him. Sugawara stared at you, head tilted with confusion since usually the two of you would just head in to get started on homework. 

“What’s wrong?” he asked, his hand reaching for yours. He called out for you again, your name gracing his lips. His thumb rubbed small circles on the back of your hand and you looked down off to the side, scared and unsure. 

“I-uhm,” your heart felt like it was going to leap out of your throat. Speaking was hard, and god you don’t think you could stare up at him while you confessed your feelings.

With closed eyes and your hand clasping around his, you stuttered out, “I-I-uh-I really like you Koushi! It’s-It’s fine if you don’t, y’know, feel the same. I just-I just had to tell you.” 

You pursed your lips and the small caresses on the back of your hand stopped. Good thing you planned to do this before entering into his house. Now you could just book it home. But then he laughed and his hand holding yours tightened back before you could run off; as if he knew you were going to do so. 

You just confessed to Sugawara Koushi and he’s laughing. You felt like crying, honestly. 

But Koushi was laughing because he was relieved. Relieved that he didn’t have to hold back anymore, that he no longer had to wait. Koushi had wanted you to make the first move because he already knew you liked him. He just wanted you to feel comfortable enough with your feelings before anything else happened. 

All of the soft touches, the cuddling, the approaching you from behind and hugging you as you do manager work, Koushi let happen naturally. Because they were natural. It’s not like you didn’t do it back. 

Whenever he’d be on break, drinking water he’d find your arms wrapped around his torso no matter how sweaty he was. Or on bus rides to practice matches or to the Sendai gym for games the two of you would sit next to each other and one of you would always fall asleep with your head resting against the other’s shoulder. 

And you know, maybe Koushi was partially laughing at the fact that you couldn’t tell he likes you back. He thought it was obvious at least. 

“Wh-what are you laughing about Koushi!” You pouted, tears slightly gathering at the corner of your eyes out of anxiety and fear of rejection. 

“No, no, nothing bad, you’re so cute,” he sighed out, a smile apparent on his face as he took a step closer to you. “It’s just that-” he gestures with his free hand back and forth between you and himself “-I thought you knew I liked you. Because I knew you liked me. And with how we’ve been cuddling and—”

“Ah!” You shouted, lightly hitting his chest with your free hand. He let out an ‘oof’ before you placed your head against his chest out of embarrassment. You felt his chest reverberate as he laughed, his other hand coming up to rest on the top of your head, his fingers drawing soothing circles on your scalp. 

“Why didn’t you tell me?” you asked, your voice muffled against his chest. Koushi sighed, the corners of his lips tugging upwards. 

“I thought we already were, y’know, together? I just wasn’t too sure,” Koushi replied. “I didn’t want to make you uncomfortable either. Wanted to wait till you were comfortable.”

“What if I never was?”

“I’d wait forever then.” 

You huffed against his chest, wrapping your other arm around him, the hand holding his tightening. Koushi set his arm around your back, pulling you in closer as he turned to place his cheek against your head. 

“You’re cheesy, Kou.” y

“Only for you.” He turned his head to kiss the crown of yours before laying his cheek against you once more. “Now let’s go inside, get some homework done and cuddle some more.”

“I hate you.” 

Koushi hummed, being the first to pull away, holding your hand tightly to walk towards his house, “Whatever you say. I know you don’t.”

These precious babies are literally the sweetest guys ever and everyone’s ultimate hype men

They can also turn feral at any given moment and revert back to normal in a second

They act like its no big deal but they have legit traumatised people before

I know that Nagisa and Midoriya are ✨ notebook buddies ✨ but I like to think that Hinata keeps a volleyball journal like Kageyama (like the adorable boyfriend he is) and shows it off proudly to them and Nagisa and Mido are so proud of their tangerine bestie and they teach him how to make notes and analyse like they do and are just so pure (ILOVETHEMSOMUCHYOUHAVENOIDEA)
