I actually didn't even bother watching the second season of Loki because of the cheap marketing and inconsistent storytelling.

It just felt like the plot was lifted off somewhere it would have made sense, and a character with a similar ego was replaced with Loki and goes through an arc that might have made sense for a blank slate character, but not someone who already has a backstory.

Loki doesn't even feel like Loki after three episodes in S1. The whole point of having a show like that just seems to be about the TVA and Sylvie.

Also the whole genderfluid thing. They 'confirmed' it in the promo and had a line in the script that went completely against anything they just said.

I knew at once that the writers, directors and other parts of production were really just pulling it in different directions and it would probably sound like a jazz trumpeter and a metal guitarist trying to improvise after knowing each other for 15 minutes.

I've been meaning to watch it just so I can have educated opinions on all of it but it's just,, so hard to get into. I definitely agree the marketing was cheap, they did with the 80s McDonald's like they did DB Cooper!Loki and made it centric to the advertising because McDonalds was also getting something out of it which is kinda ass seeing as realistically Loki Laufeyson would burn 6 of them down before he ate in one 😭

I personally don't like either of the major ships in the show but the forced Sylki shit in season 1 really got to me. Like not only did she completely replace him as the main character in HIS show, she's also a variant of him who he wants to make out with and overall it just reads as lazy writing and it's extremely disappointing that Mike Waldron has been put in charge of Multiverse of Madness and The Kang Dynasty since, due to the popularity of the Loki TV show. I was talking to my boyfriend about this last night but it kinda reminds me of the complaints people had ab the last Indiana Jones movie but opposite? Like everyone complained his best friend's daughter was gonna replace him bc she's a Mary Sue and she rlly isnt, she's more reminiscent of Marion in Raiders of the Lost Ark she just doesn't wanna fuck him. But the difference is Indy is a character who's majorly blank for little boys to project themselves onto. Which is great!! It works for those kind of movies, but they're not character development centric like the individual mcu movies tend to be. Loki is characterized in a way that he's drowning in identity issues and family problems and he experiences growth in every installment whether it be positive or negative. It doesn't make sense to take the formula of an Indidna Jones movie where he meets up with a woman who's typically a love interest and has her own issues that are only slightly touched on because that's not the focus, and they go do the plot.

Sylvie is not an Indy Girl, they straight up are trying to replace Loki with Sylvie. And you can tell the character wasn't supposed to have as much importance as she does in the show bc the character was worked on more after the actress they chose was buddies with a producer ( and this is no hate to the actress I'm sure she's delightful everything I've seen her in in terms of interviews has been lovely ).

I also absolutely agree they should've just made a tva mini series to introduce the tva rather than bringing back a dead character who soon will not make much sense anyway because Tom Hiddleston is getting older (and also he deserves to branch out in his career).

The genderfluid thing was a cash grab and it sucks ass, they just want money for acknowledging things already canon in the comics, same with confirming him as bisexual.

My boyfriend is actually writing a fic on ao3 called Find Me that's rlly good if you want Loki content that isn't related to the show.

(YES this is shameless promotion sshhhhshshsh) but fr the loki TV show makes me more confident in my screenwriting bc t h a t got put on disney plus. I'm also working on a Loki show rewrite in my spare time!!

That’s totally ok and multishippers r absolutely welcome here. Even if they don’t ship Enchantricks. You don’t have to read the comics to enjoy them, but I think everyone should anyway (shipper or not they’re good but I’m bias bc I’ve always loved comics)

I understand sometimes comics esp being new can be overwhelming. That’s why I try to share digestible snippets of cartoons or a few panels. They’ve always had tangible energy, and a constantly changing relationship through their millennia of years, knowing each other since a young age. Friend, enemy, ally, lover. They never try to make each other change for the better, each other, or put the relationship before themselves. They have major trust issues so I don’t think they’d have a consistent relationship until they fix that. And maybe they never will. But I think they’re more tortured soulmates. Broken lovers.

Her relationship with Loki is interesting bc Amora has a hard time loving and used it majority as a tool. She always wanted to be loved because for most of her childhood she wasn’t. Her sister was the star child (similar to Loki) Karnilla her mentor cast her out. The reason she was bent on Thor for so long was because unlike everyone else. he never rly loved her. Likely an obsession originating from a teenage jealousy, as Thor liked Sif. I believe it was originally Odin who asked Amora try to seduce Thor and bring him back to Asgard. Something she’s never failed at before. To my knowing Lokis never been enchanted by her before, it’s mentioned his magic and mind too strong. (Which Sylvie attempts in the mcu) though it seems for Amoras magic to work you have to be consensually invested in her prior for her to be able to have hold over u. (Her natural beauty be said to be enough, cliche but I like femme fatales) or for you to initiate in kissing her as her lips are enchanted like a poison lipstick. It depends which writer you ref since everyone has dif interpretations.

TLDR: totally ok to ship both, to ship any multi ship (given its consenting adults) even if u don’t read the comics. They’re a fun couple bc they’re weird and baddies. Casual shipping is great and enjoyable.

You know, as much as I have issues with the writing and decisions made in the one chicago universe, I really really really love and respect the fact that in both cpd and cf when the actress of one half of their main ship left, the writers slowly and realistically built up the guy's next romance.

Like I've mentioned my thoughts on upstead before, but I do really love the producers decision to slow burn them, as it's made their relationship so realistic and well built up. And brettsey, I adore brettsey-- primarily bc my girl Sylvie deserves the world-- and that's because I love how they've been building to them. Like I really love how they developed them naturally from how they saw each other when dawson was around and how their relationship adapted and grew when she left.

I think especially why I love the writing choices with this is because both matt and jay's previous relationship ended in a really bad way so having both develop their next romance so naturally and realistic instead of just, idk, shoving them into a new endgame relationship after one season makes everything just that little bit more real.

And I just really respect these decisions, because it makes the characters much more real and relatable, and it means the audience can truly fall in love with these relationships not because the show tells you that you have to, but because you can see the mutual respect and love between them-- which hits harder after the toxic previous relationships.

all personal feeling/preference aside, I really feel like one of the bigger cruxes of the shipping debates is caused by the confusing tonal switch the show takes around the end of episode 3 (I know this has been talked about to death but this is just my stream of consciousness rn ok). The Loki series starts off establishing the dynamic between Loki and Mobius; apart from Mobius and Ravonna's 'friendship', some interactions with B-15, and some expository moments with other TVA folks (like Casey), there aren't really any other focal characters or dynamics and it stays this way for the first two, rather lengthy episodes. The audience is essentially being told 'these are the two main characters of this story and it will begin and end with them and their dynamic', so this is doubly unfair to people who 1) may not have liked the dynamic bc idk why you'd think after watching the first 2 eps that the show would be about anything else other than this and a character journey for Loki (and time travel), 2) people who did like the dynamic because after the 2nd episode, guess what, it's not really a thing after that. You'd have no way of knowing that from the FIRST TWO EPISODES of a 6-part series.

It's not that Sylvie is inherently a problem- at least not to me, I love the idea of everything she could have been and that's generally how I think of her- it's that the show takes an abrupt turn from not only focusing the heart of the story around a particular dynamic, but it also begins to prioritize Sylvie's pain and struggle at the expense of literally every other character, including the two the show led us to believe were going to be the most important to the narrative. The set up in episodes one and two for this series to be an opportunity for Loki to take a hard look at himself and grow as a character as a result of his new circumstances is just about completely forgotten because it seems enough to the writers that he fall in love with a female version of himself that he met 12 hours prior- character development speedrun!! Once Sylvie shows up, everything in the show seems to readjust to orbit solely around her and the pain only she is justified to have. Which, honestly, would be FINE if they had just established from the first episode that this would be the direction of the show (soidknowtostopwatchinginthefirstfiveseconds). Maybe call it 'Sylvie' instead or make her more clearly the MCU version of Enchantress and give her her own series like Agatha.

anyway it creates endless roundabout arguments of who goes best with whom because...there isn't really a good answer to that in terms of what the show gave us (see: trash). The Loki that later falls head over heels in love with Sylvie and forgets his previous 500 personalities entirely isn't really the same Loki that had scenes with Mobius prior, because Loki was rendered to caricature playdoh that molded around whoever his scene partner happened to be and whatever goals Michael had in mind at the time. There isn't anything very consistent about him in his own namesake show, there is no real arc or linear growth we can track just, 'now he's this' and 'oh but now he's this' when it's not really clear how the character got from point a to point b.

That's not to say I didn't want to know about Sylvie and her pain- of course I did. I would so much rather have heard about and seen flashbacks of Sylvie's time in the palace, what her Thor was like, how deeply she grieves Frigga and how it drives her anger etc etc, I just wanted to see it depicted with the same approach as Loki's was, in that she isn't immune from being criticized by other characters or allowing the audience room to interpret her behavior for themselves rather than manipulating the narrative to frame her as justified in everything. If B-15, Mobius aNd Loki are made to look critically at themselves, so should she so as to be a fully three dimensional part of the ensemble.

This is also why I will maintain for the rest of time the Loki / Sylvie dynamic would have been better served as something platonic / more frenemy sibling-like at least at first...because for as much as the show REALLY WANTS Loki to hate himself, for as many chances as the show takes to make him cringe at his own behavior and that of his variants, they really did nothing in the way of explaining why Sylvie is not only an exception to the Lokis-hate-Lokis rule, she fucking makes one fall in love with her in matter of hours. How? I mean, they had fun banter and there was a suggestion of them eventually getting along better but nothing that would convince me true love happened right there on apocalypse planet, that now suddenly every motive that Loki has is purely, selflessly in favor of Sylvie, a presumed Loki variant that he has already expressed intimidation towards for being more elusive than him. (What happened to him feeling threatened by her...? He just kinda forgot I guess?) The only explanation is that she enchanted him and we'll find that out in season 2, but I'm not holding my breath. It'd be a dope twist tho tbh and would explain so much.

so idk, Loki (tv show) sucked, and that's mostly because it had every opportunity to be something new, refreshing, a show for more marginalized members of the Marvel viewer base, hell maybe even profound, and it took none of them 🙃

So.. I am now going to explain why I have come to realise that I ship Sylki.

I know a lot of people don't like that ship and I totally understand why. In fact, I still prefer a sibling dynamic between them bc I ALWAYS prefer sibling dynamics. For me, those relationships feel much more profound and real, especially in the context of the MCU. That's probably one of the main reasons why I loved Black Widow so much. It had that awesome sisterly love between Yelena and Natasha.

In my opinion, as soon as it comes to romance in the MCU, it's underwhelming. Some relationships like Thor/Jane are there just for the sake of it, develop way too fast and without any good reason and leave me completely cold. Then there is the bad ass/dumb ass dynamic, where a kick ass woman falls in love with a guy who's unable to stay serious for more than 5 minutes; like Hope/Scott and Gamora/Quill. I kinda buy those, bc there is actually a development from "I hate him and his stupidity" to "I can stand him and am kinda fond of his antics". Those ships usually kinda grow on you and in the case of Gamora/Quill I actually buy that they deeply love each other.

Then there is Nat/Bruce...let's not talk about that...what the hell was that even. They never addressed it again after AoU...

And Pepper/Tony....which I know many people ship but I'm really not a fan of. With them it's a friends to lovers story. Cute, but tbh I never felt like they were truly romantically in love or anything. But that's just me.

The notable exception here is Wanda/Vision, which actually had a strong emotional impact on me in WandaVision and made Vision's death in Infinity War more heartbreaking, BUT it developed mainly off-screen and I could not have seen that coming in CA:CW. If it wasn't for their own series showing us Wanda's grief for him I would still be wondering "How did this happen?".

What I want to say is this: Almost every singly one of the canon MCU ships feels inconsequential and/or convenient to me. Like, with the exception of Gamora/Quill and Wanda/Vision I feel like all those couples could break up tomorrow and the characters would more or less easily get over it soon enough. Even if they are together, happy and somehow in love, I always feel like "this love story could have happened with another character as well. This was not his/her soulmate, they just learned to get along and then something started. If they had never met, that character could have ultimately found someone else".

NOW. With Sylki it's the first time that I feel like this is not the case. The series gives me the feeling that Sylvie might just be the only person in existence that Loki could ever truly love bc she accepts and understands him fully. If they had not met, neither of them would have found anyone who they would have loved equally (and I know Mobius/Loki is a dream team, but even with them I don't feel like they were really made for each other. In fan fiction perhaps, but as a canon ship?)

And beyond the plot obviously suggesting that they are fated for each other in some way (the nexus event on Lamentis), Sylvie and Loki seem really cute together. And I mean that as an objective fact. Their interactions in the 5. episode was made to look cute and project teenager awkwardness.

They seem to fit well together on an emotional level and they truly need each other. When I look at them I can actually see how they might be the perfect superhero duo.

So essentially, I feel like Sylki is a much more real and profound love story than what the MCU usually offers us.

On another note (and I don't wanna get too deep into that rn) there is the issue with this so-called self-cest, whether that is a thing or not.

Personally, I feel like Tumblr tends to oversexualize everything. Like, for all I care they will never have sex or even kiss. For me that is so completely unimportant for a love story...idk. like, I feel like the physical aspects is all the fandom thinks about...but guys, look at their emotional bond!!! If they weren't incidentally both born as Lokis they would be PERFECT together in all ways. Like...on an emotional level they ARE!

🔥 something abt the Loki show, anything. Like go insane if u want. I have never seen it but I used to be obsessed w Loki when I was like 14 and u r the only exposure to ANYTHING abt the show I have bc I don't follow anyone else who talks abt it. Which is rly all I need as I don't think I could survive watching it

good lord. right so basically I don't give a shit either I just have a soft spot for loki as the thor movies always make me cry (daddy issues idk) so I thought I'd watch and I've been sucked in again by a cool plot and initially well done character study.

considering I hate marvel idk how im surprised but they started off giving the fans everything they wanted with this mystery sci-fi buddy cop plot and confirmation of genderfluid, bi loki. everyone was on cloud nine with this new female loki and the fun bi chaotic siblings dynamic they had.

but then it turn out the 'genderfluid' representation was actually just this is the only ever shockingly female oki variants in the multiverse!! and therefore loki is in love with her after just meeting. and they keep flip flopping on "it's not incesteous they're completely different people!" to regularly putting in lines like "we are stronger than we think" and constantly being reminded they're the same person with the same family etc so it's just incredibly uncomfortable. I don't like it but im used to disappointment and if they're desperate to do a underdeveloped heterosexual romance as an on the nose metaphor for self love then sure whatever I guess but I wish they'd comit. they keep doing these excruciating romantic building moments but then reminding us how weird it is and holding off from any romantic confirmation it's truly painful to watch rip the bandaid off

also some people are saying it's great representation to have two genderfluid bisexuals in love with each other but that's the same old bs good omens argument where's it's like if they're completely shown as binary genders and heteronomativley portrayed then it literally doesn't matter if tptb have said "you can see them how you like uwu give us credit for nothing" ya know? plus having a bi man and a bi woman in a relationship is really cool, in theory, if the mcu has any history of representation but considering its technically the first ever 'queer relationship' in the whole mcu (I think?) and they're kinda related ? that's erm...

it's got wonderful production design though and the time travel/multiverse aspect is really cool! they've just decided to focus on this universe shattering romance though in the later episodes and it's so unececesary. could've kept them in familial platonic love and mutual respect and literally nothing about their bond or the plot would've changed.

another thing to note: there's another white boy mlm ship which I saw a mile off bc they have great chemistry, instantly care for each other and most importantly aren't related but the writers are getting upset at the fans for "taking things the wrong way" and making every connection romantic which is incredibly ironic considering they did just that but as always queer characters aren't allowed to be demonstrably queer ever it's just a bromance

there's a s2 confirmed so I'm hoping that maybe they either calm down in the self-cest thing (it's unpopular even with normal audience it seems) and we just get back to this central trio vibing through time and space as besties which would be cool. OR. I've seen a decent theory that maybe in the finale loki and sylvie (the female variant) will merge into one being as we then have an actual genderfluid loki going forward.. which id be okay with if they're insistent on making them in love (though pissed off bc she's a really cool female character and that's making her a love interest then fridging but maybe that form would revisit???)

                  Welcome to my independent Sylvie Laufeydottir blog from Marvel’s LOKI!                                            Est. July 2021. 18+ for rps, please.                                           Canon compliant with AUs available.

Basic info: My alias here is Plum. You may have seen this around, but I’m not going to specifically advertise my other blogs just for my own personal peace of mind. I’m almost 35 years old and have been writing in some capacity since 2002. This blog is medium to low activity, as I have other blogs and responsibilities in my life so I won’t be here much. Sylvie is MCU compliant, with other various things thrown in as well as some liberties taken with information we don’t know yet. I will write just about anything, and will tag as necessary.

I plan on including many different verses into this blog and will be open to more, including the main MCU one where she is a Loki variant, and one where she ... is not. They will be open by request and tagged appropriately.

While I will not be too picky and selective with who I follow, I also do not want to overwhelm myself, so please forgive me if I don’t follow back immediately!

I will not be limiting what I can write here. I am not anti any ship, and while I do not promise to give you any ship you ask for, I will not put my foot down and say never, either. Following canon is what will help me keep this muse, which may mean interactions you are not fully comfortable with. Ships will be tagged. 

SYLKIE MENTION: ANY RPS WITH THEM WILL ULTIMATELY END UP PLATONIC. Sylvie does have to explore her feelings at least a little bit (probably with a conversation and lots of will they, won’t they’s thrown in), but that will be properly tagged when it gets to be a grey area. I plan on ultimately not shipping her with really anyone, considering it’s going to be a LONG ROAD of recovery and figuring out how to be a person now that she doesn’t need revenge. 

Absolutely no ship will happen without development and I don’t think Sylvie’s much in a place to love anyone, but feelings are complicated, and that might come up.

Tag anything anti related or I may unfollow for my own sanity. Too much negativity clogging the dash stifles my creativity.

What is frustrating about the whole Loki shipping disc horse is that if you bring up that Sylvie and Loki had little chemistry and mentioned that Sylvie wasn't all that well developed you get called biphobic. I enjoy Lokius myself but I don't mind them just being pals. But that's kinda the thing too.. Like Sylvie and Loki could've just been good friends or heck even better, consider each other siblings. Thor and Loki's relationship was so interesting and important bc they were brothers. And here we have two different Loki's that could help each other to learn how to accept themselves. But no they decide to make it an awkward romance plot. What people seem to fail to acknowledge is that Sylvie was used as a plot device several times. I like Sylvie, a lot. But she wasn't handled well in my opinion. And the romance was just as underdeveloped as the average marvel movie ones. It felt forced. And whether you mind selfcest or not, that does not change the fact that there was little to no chemistry there. We know like nothing about her. And I mean the reason she comes off that way is bc she is so guarded about stuff. She doesn't trust people so she does not share what she has been through all that much. And that's fine under other circumstances but when you have that character partake in a romance plot you don't really set the chars up for a great not that healthy of a relationship. Yes they cared about each other but the show only proved in the end of the season Sylvie never truly learned how to trust, not even Loki. Which again... Not great basis for a romantic relationship. And I often felt like the reason Loki cared was bc he originally just felt bad for her. I know they just kissed and aren't dating but yeah that's just my two cents.

Anyway... listen, like what you like but please for the love of everything stop calling people biphobic for just not being into something or criticizing a disney+ title.

(Honestly both Loki and Sylvie being into mobius would have been the ultimate bi power move but Disney would never)

I just saw your flushed-out character anon and response. I'm happy to see people call that out. It can even spread to the actors that play the love interests and the partners of the men behind the characters.

Like, I'm for queer ships, I have nothing against that. Buddie would be fine, I don't see the chemistry a lot of people claim is there, but if that's where the story goes, then that's where it goes.

But a large many people are hating on Taylor and it needs to stop. They will twist themselves into pretzels to make up reasons to hate her, (like I've seen in other places), even when the answers to some of the things she's done can be pretty obvious if you use two brain cells.

She a good character, very well acted, well written and her actions make a lot of sense to me. It's really a shame people are putting a lot of things on her that she doesn't deserve.

sometimes it definitely feels weird for me. bc i only started watching the show because of the buddie chirstmas moment at the end of s2. if i hadn't seen those sets i'm not sure i would have tuned in. it's also the only time i've enjoyed watching ryan guzman. so part of me will always enjoy their interactions. both in terms of them one day being canon and just for whatever they happen to be.

i'm not one to get into deep fandom meta, but a few weeks ago i started to make a post about how buddie reminds me of other ship dynamics, not really in terms of the way the fandom looks at whole plots of episode to fit inside a buddie long con framework, but more of a if buddie were a heterosexual ship i do think that the excuse for them not to be canon would be greater. bc it gives me major swan queen vibes, a ship i never supported really but it's hard to deny when ouat had all kinds of fuckery going on. or at least hetero buddie would have a shot on literally any other first responder show where partners date. [ i mean chicago fire had every eligible male character date sylvie brett at one time or another ]. but 911 hasn't had an in-house romantic relationship. so i'm not really sure how a hetero buddie would fair.

not that any of that is really the point. to get back to taylor it does annoy me to see so much hate lobbed her way with takes that don't really make sense in the context of what is written. i get people bring headcanon and their own analysis to the text, but what the show has presented is a character that has grown. sure off screen, but in the brief time she's been back we've seen that growth illustrated. but none of that really matters when everyone is ready to tear apart any interaction she has with anyone. and no one does that with any buddie interaction ever. the level of scrutiny is not there, it is always the most generous reading of an interaction.

which again, love that for them. you can do that without throwing a whole character under the bus.

i also think it's wild that a character they hate this much lives in the heads of so many people rent free. they make more content about taylor kelly than literally anyone else.

Maybe your mutuals, who might already be accepting of of ships like thorki, aren't outraged about sylki, but there's a lot of that going on in the wider fandom on Twitter and Tumblr. Apparently it's basically incest (no one tell them about thorki) and also homophobic and can cause a lot of harm to "communities and minorities". It's all fun and games until someone thinks it's morally acceptable to dimension jump and fuck their alternate self. I swear antis can't hear what they sound like lol. 1/2

I don't remember what I posted to prompt this ask, so I'm sorry if my reply feels a little disjointed! But re: Sylkie - I mean, I can't really speak for my mutuals but the general consensus on my dash has nothing to do with any ~problematic~ elements and everything to do with how cliche and unnecessary the ship is. I'm not really sure how the ship is basically incest?? I mean, I know where the show has landed (that she's a Loki) but interpretation-wise in the fandom, either she is a Loki, or she isn't. If she is, then it would be selfcest, not incest, and if she isn't, then she's basically just some woman he met and fell for. They didn't grow up together, they don't share any genes, they aren't siblings.

Calling Loki/Sylvie homophobic is, I'm assuming, stemming from outrage that a confirmed bi character would be interested in someone of the opposite sex - but, I mean, what do they think bisexual means? But, yeah. I'm not super here for the ship, but it has nothing to do with any 'cesty reasons. Insofar as it getting in the way of Mobius/Loki - I mean, if you're gonna boycott and hate a ship on behalf of the oppressed, you gotta at least be consistent about it. Mobius/Loki could be (and is, by some) considered an abusive ship. Not only is Mobius verbally abusive to Loki, but Mobius is - and never stops being - in a position of power over Loki. They're not on an even foundation, and furthermore prisoners can't freely and willingly consent to sex/relationships with those holding them prisoner so, congrats, there's your problematic, abusive, r*pe apologist ship, my purity loving friends. Enjoy sitting with those rainbows and candy canes for awhile.

(^^ I don't necessarily see Mobius as abusive toward Loki, for reasons I can't articulate, and I don't feel it's a problematic ship (though the power dynamic actually is a factor), for the record. But this was a fun exercise in critical thinking.)

Anyway, so yeah, I'm not surprised that the purity culture antis are raging, I'm just glad to not be seeing it. Like I said, in my corner of the fandom, the issue with Sylkie is just the context of it - it being cliche, it coming out of nowhere, and it being a plot at all bc Loki didn't need a love interest and Marvel sucks, consistently, at writing good love stories.

I'll probably expand on this in a separate post, but those are basically my issues with the ship as well. I don't really have a problem with it, in theory. I don't disagree that the characters have chemistry, and that they've trauma bonded, in addition to sharing the variant bond that allows them to skip right over a lot of those 'let me slowly trust you and let my guard down as I reveal more and more of myself to you' steps; they get to skip those steps bc each variant already knows them. They know their own walls and protective layers, and they know what's at the core, just by virtue of being two versions of the same person. And in that sense I don't even really have a problem with how quickly it came about, I guess.

But it's like - yeah, this definitely needs its own post, lmao, but basically I feel like it could make sense in theory but doesn't follow in practice. But maybe it will over the next two episodes, who knows.

On that topic, though, I like your speculations. Somewhere between yesterday and today I gave up on my own speculations, though, bc the showrunners confirmed it was romantic and I don't feel like bothering anymore. It would have been cool to see some kind of magic or a plan or even something a little more surface-level than 'I love you bc of reasons,' but, well. Sometimes you order eggs off of the menu and you meant scrambled and you're expecting some fluffy, hot, cooked to near-perfection scrambled eggs and the waiter comes out with a runny sunny-side-up dish and when you're like the fuck is this? they just shrug and say, I don't know, you ordered eggs? And looking at it on the plate - technically not wrong but unappealing, bland, and not what you expected - just leaves you feeling like, oh. Okay. I can plainly see there are no hidden scrambled eggs here, so I guess I'll just eat these.

I'm not longer sure if the ship or the show or both are the wrong eggs, lmao. This shit is why I really enjoyed Loki's love metaphor, even though later interviews w/ the showrunners and Tom framed it as not really being great or profound. Which adds more credence to the possibility that I might just have shit taste in general, but well, there we are.

x Sona names and their meanings/reasoning behind them

x I was talking to the lovely @gunkyengines about our sonas and she asked me how i came up with my names and I thought I share with you guys as well

x A little info before getting into it. I’m extra and I mean really extra, when I pick a name I try to work it around my first name and or my last name but none of my sonas will ever have my actual name because I keep it rather personal. But if you know me and have ever seen my name it very......very obvious how open and in your face how coded I’ve laid out my names.

x However Sonas that have completely names have a reason behind it.

So to start!

Cev/Cevvy || This is a nickname I’ve pick up from a friend in highschool that I haven’t started using until I came over to tumblr from Deviantart. I normally and naturally go by Taylor on other platforms but I knew that would draw confusion when I was talking about my ships. So I adapted Cev/Cevvy as my online name while here.

C.Taylor (WonkaVerse) || Stepping into my Wonka ship I had the short brain power to actually name her something else other than C.Taylor which was my online name on dA. Eventually her full name became Cev Taylor but she ONLY went by Taylor. I have thought about making her first name Cerverse to give it some ounce of difference from my name but I’m not sure yet.

Charamaine-Tazara or Taz (TMNT) || Her name came along because I'm a history nut and I had the idea of mixing European history with African. Charmaine comes from the name of the first king of Europe, Charlemagne, and Tazara comes from Tanzania the country, for where I based her mythical tribe to be from. Taz is a African wild Nymph who is a part of African mythology. Her name almost became Candake-Nandi, the names of two very powerful African Queens put together but I thought that would be overkill. 

Ceiara (Transformers) || Her name comes from Ciara,Ceira, and or Keira and is Irish meaning black or dark. No I didn’t choose this name because I’m black, though that be funny. I choose it because Ceiara Cybertronian guardian is a shifting Decepticon name ZipRide (we name our cars in my household and that's my cars name and yes he is a decepticon). She had no idea she was affiliated with the bad side for so many years that when she met Bee she was protective over the fact ZipRide hadn’t harmed her. She was apart of the darkside and sometimes she plays devil’s advocate.

Zairla (X-Men) || Her name comes from Czar, she has the power to copy and keep and uses more than one power at a time but she is unstable which leads to her falling apart from the inside just like the Russian empire, also I like the way Zair/Czar sounds. But her name also comes from the bible of tribulation:  a cause of great trouble or suffering. Zairla could be as powerful as Jean Gary if not better if she could just get her power under control and not kill herself. 

Ester (Hazbin Hotel) || I’m aware HH isn’t meant to be deep but I can’t help it! Ester gets her name after the Queen Esther from the bible, Esther (bible) her cousin Mordecai persuade the king to retract an order for the general annihilation of Jews throughout the empire of Persia. I named Ester this because she restores Alastor's more human side when they are once again back together and she is the Mama of the coven that takes in souls of those that were damned to hell but were not bad people. 

Melpomene (Hetalia) || I already knew that this ship wasn’t going to be sunshine and rainbows. Not when history is a core part of it, and due to recent events I need the real world was going to bleed into my fantasy. So I named her after the Muse of  music, song and dance who then become the Muse of  tragedy. Because even when things are good, great, there is still something that can destroy it. In this case the thing that tries to get in the way of Mel and Ivan was the fact he is immortal and she is human. In short years in his time she would only be a memory. A memory he would hold on to dearly.

Zirius (Undertale) || Comes from Sirius which is the brightest star visible from any part of Earth. Zirius is a supernova who is dying a little bit more every time the player resets the game. supernovas take forever to burn out thus making her so bright you not only could see her from the Earth but also in the underground. She has to stay in Hot Lands most of the time so she doesn't hurt anyone on accident. Alphys help create her rings and a veil hat she wears all the time to block out her deadly light rays. 

Rihonna  (BNHA) || Based off of te Fleetwood mac song Rhiannon because for a long time she was a fleeting memory for Yagi because her quirk is Amnesia and used overused her power to make him forget her but instead it backfired and she forgot about him until she came back into his life. And now that she's back she's fell in love with him but also with Taishiro. in the word of Fleetwood Mac: Rhiannon rings like a bell through the night And wouldn't you love to love her? Takes to the sky like a bird in flight And who will be her lover? ((it also means Great Queen in Welsh!!))

Zephyr (Homestuck) || Comes from the Greece Zephyrus the Greek god of the west wind. Zephyr is an major book nerd who works in the High Blood Historical library, but during combat she is a very skilled archer, she is the wind and she commands it to guide her arrows. The highbloods find her to be deadly and choose to keep her under their control incase there happens to be another revolution. She treated with respect more than any other lowblood in high blood court bc she is the the matesprit of GHB and Dualscar but is also their facilitator in the Auspisticism. 

Tayonna (Danny Phantom) || It’s a sister name I created for the name Tituba. As we all know Tituba was a infamous “witch” from the salem trials. Tayonna is a witch poltergeist who hasn’t been laid to rest for almost 400 years due to romantic betrayal. Her name almost became Morgan named after the witch Morgan Le Fay or Sylvie which is French for spirit of the wood.

If you could pair Jay, Kim, Adam, Hailey and Kevin with anyone from the One Chicago Universe apart from their current partners or love interests, who would it be? 🙂🙂🙂

Firstly, THANK YOU. Seriously, thank you for asking me this last night, it became a lifesaver for me. Tumblr kept crashing on me so I couldn't answer but god, it kept my mind so so entertained-- probably would've answered it as soon as I gave up on sleep after waking up after only a short time except adhd has made that I've been unfocused all day.

But finally after a stupid amount of attempts of sitting down to type this out, I'm finally doing it!!!

The number one thing that I'm going to take from this is that apparently I can see Sylvie Brett with basically everyone. Which makes sense since she's a literal angel who's so very lovable. (Honestly, to me, her and Kim are the most shippable characters in the whole OC universe (then, for me, it's Will).

I'm gonna answer this is two parts. My first one I'm only going to name one person each, and not have any overlaps and then the second one I'm gonna allow myself to list everyone I can see with them. Some of these aren't my top person I'd ship them with, because I had to give that person to someone else tho.

Jay: I really tried to think of characters who wasn't in Pd for him but, especially as I'm already using Sylvie, honestly the top person I'd ship him with is Kim! Although to stick with my rules, although I couldn't see this being a lasting relationship, I could see him and April having a shirt thing.

Kim: Kelly Severide. I kinda fell in love with the idea of them after seeing an interview with Marina and Taylor in and adding that in with the headcanon me and @fighterkimburgess have that him, Kim and Sylvie have girls nights (...do not ask how this transpired I don't even think I remember), I just have a lot of Thoughts about the dynamic they could have.

Adam: Sylvie Brett. I could've put Sylvie for all, really, but she is literally the only one (outside Kim) I could actually see Adam with so I just had to.

Hailey: ... Okay so my top answer for this I can't say for *reasons* on the account it spoils a part of a fic idea I have but after my top answer I'd say Will. Like to me Will is just very shippable and honestly there's a lot of reasons I could make it work between them. ALSO like idk why but not as a serious rarepair ship but I'm fairly confident I could make a fic between her and Connor work. Although to be ✨queer✨ for a minute, honestly Natalie, ever since the infection episode.

Kevin: Violet. This is a ship that Cíara got me on to, and honestly is my go-to ship if I need Kevin to be in a relationship with an oc character in my fics.

Now for my lists of everyone I'd consider:

Jay: Kim and Sylvie (I watched the hospital scene in S2 and like. I hadn't met brettsey yet and I was like, so sure I'd like them two together more than their canon ships). Also I think him and Natalie could have a good short fling storyline, especially if it enhanced their endgames. And of course, April.

Kim: Sylvie, Jay, Sarah, Severide, Hailey, Will, Stella, Erin, Matt, Natalie, Cruz, Ethan and Gabby. (This is why I call her Very Shippable 🤣)

Adam: Sylvie and... Yep that's it. Maybe a fling with Erin if the show started differently. AND if we're talking about non long term relationships, obviously Hailey. I cannot stand upzek but y'know. If I'm racking my brain to the point of suggesting a hook up with Erin, I can't not mention upzek bc at least I can see that relationship as like, not just sex.

Hailey: Kim, Will, Natalie, Stella, Erin, Vanessa, Ethan, Connor

Kevin: Violet, Vanessa, Sylvie, Stella, and Hailey.

As you can see, this fandom has turned me into somewhat of a multi shipper 🤣🤣🤣 And as you can see I very very much ADORE my wlw pairings. Honestly I have so many wlw fic to write and i think this gives a glimpse into why!!! Also that if I see Kim interact with ANYWAY my mind goes 👀

This was very enjoyable and I thought up a few more fics last night when thinking about this soooo, that's good!!! 💖
