🔱 Poseidon never expected this to happen.
🔱 He had thrived his whole life, living perfectly fine without any human's life interfering, until you showed up.
🔱 Hades had called upon his three younger brothers, Adamas, Poseidon, and Zeus about a soul of a young mortal female soul who had somehow, without his knowledge, escaped the river STYX.
🔱 His eldest brother's guards dragged you in per his command, and Zeus immediately looked at you with hearts in his eyes.
🔱 " Damn idiot. " Poseidon thought, watching his youngest brother stare at you, his intentions obviously horrible inside.
" Poseidon! "
🔱 The Tyrant of the Sea may have looked in the opposite direction, but everyone knew he was listening to the ramblings of Adamas.
🔱 His main focus was on the deceased maiden seated at the table's opposite end, glancing around the large room, waiting for one of the male gods to ask her about her escape.
🔱 Hades' gaze shifted from his youngest brother, Zeus, to you, looming before tapping his eye piece and asking you the question you were awaiting.
" How did you escape from the river STYX? "
🔱 You pondered for a moment, your memory was quite limited, the main things flying through your head was your childhood and eventual death, then, the exact things he asked you popped up.
🔱 You shifted as the guards stiffened, probably believing you were gonna try attacking the brothers, which you knew would be fruitless, as one was staring at you with heart-eyes, one glared, another stared with curiosity in his one visible eye, and the last basically looked into your soul.
🔱 Poseidon was the least patient at the moment, and he was close to yelling at you to answer them, but he stopped himself when your mouth opened to answer Hades' question.
" My memory isn't the best as of now, but, by what I can ponder up, I had died and, for some random reason, reached up for breath, as if I was drowning, and pulled myself out of the river,"
🔱 " I guess my body wasn't ready to die yet, huh? " You joked
🔱 The brothers just stared, and at that point, you glanced at Zeus, and he just smiled the creepiest smile you had ever seen in history, way beyond any image someone could use to scare you.
🔱 Adamas just looked at Hades and asked what they were to do with you, in which he answered with a fairly bland and further pondering question.
" We will have to find someone to watch over her for the time being. I would allow her to stay here, but, I am not sure what may happen if another soul sees her as they vanish down here. Adamas, could you take her in? " " Nope. I got quite a bit of stuff happening at the moment, brother. I would if I could, sorry. " " Zeus? " " Glad- " " I will. "
🔱 All heads snapped to the sound of Poseidon's voice ringing through the dining room.
🔱 Had he just said he's take in a human? For real?
" Um, Poseidon, Zeus was just saying- "
🔱 " I will take the human to my castle underneath the ocean's waves, we all know what Zeus would do to the mortal when she arrives at his residence. " He said, glaring in the direction, but not fully looking at the younger, yet elderly appearing, brother.
🔱 Hades smiled faintly before nodding to his guards while Poseidon motioned for his to grab you before nodding to his brother and saying his farewells as he, you, and his guards walked out of the castle of Helheim.
🔱 Once arriving at his castle, your eyes widened and sparkled with admiration for the beautiful building.
🔱 Poseidon stared back at you, seeing the vert obvious awestruck face you had on.
🔱 He motioned for his guards to return to their placements in the castle as he gave you a miniature tour around the building so you'd know your way to certain rooms, like yours, the throne room, dining room, and more.
🔱 " And this, " He said, " Is your new room. I had the maids get it cleaned and ready to befit you from what Hades had mentioned in his letter about you. "
🔱 You smiled at him, thanked him, and before retreating into your room to get ready for dinner that night, you asked him a question just about as interesting as Hades had been.
" Why did you decided to take me in? You could've left me for dead with your brother. "
🔱 Poseidon stood there and held his trident, the blades pointing to the ground, for once in his life, he really had no answer. He had no clue why he did this.
🔱 But maybe, just maybe, over that night, and many years to come, he'd figure it out
🔱 Newsflash, he does.

Let's set the scene:
So it was finally that time again, I will not let you get in the way of my work Shroud. The shroud company, through blessing or curse from Hades. Made it very difficult to find the Isle of woe to be by mortals, or Death itself. Memories from times of old began to resurface.
" Look at this cute little pie. We would like to thank you all for the gifts on behalf of our son," Zeus smiled. " Oh, so precious. How absolutely heart-warming. I haven’t felt this choked up since I got some moussaka stuck in my throat," Hades said, trying to make a joke. "Don’t look so glum, chum. Come and join the celebrations!" Zeus invited. " I’d love to, but unfortunately, I can’t leave my post thanks to the work you graciously “bestowed” upon me. Love to stay, but sadly can’t!" Hades said as he backed away. "Come now, you’ll work yourself to death!NGet it? To death! I could kill myself laughing!" Zeus laughed as the rest of the party joined him. " Ugh, if only…!" Hades scoffed to himself.
As Hades returned to the underworld, his two minions Pain and Panic came running with news.
"BOSS! BOSS!" Panic cried out.
"What! What is it!? I am Not in the mood," Hades scowled.
"T-T-The Boss! The Big Boss is back!" the two screamed.
"After all this time, this could be a great opportunity," Hades smirked.
The God quickly made his way to a simply room that belonged to the one and only, Death. The room was simple, it had one throne that was placed by the window. That over looked the river of Souls.
"Hey, Death! The Big Boss, Head honcho, Top dog! How've yeah been?" Hades greeted his long time boss and friend. "How was the travel, travel good brought souvenir?"
"Hmm, oh. Hello Hades," Death greeted, snapped out of their thoughts. "You needed something?"
"So I have plans for Mayhem, your favorite," Hades smirked as he went on to explain his plans.
But he noticed that something was different about his underworld friend. The bloodthirst chaos loving friend was not present, instead this sad and mellow person sat before him.
"Um Who are you and you know what happened to Death?" Hades asked.
"Just a new perspective I guess. As for your plan. If that's what you really want I won't stop you, though I'm afraid I will not join you," Death said calmly.
"Okay, no seriously what happened to you. What happened to the King/Queen of terror and dread?" Hades asked.
"I guess like you I'm also tired of ruling the dead and this place," Death sighed as they looked back at the underworld.

Death would be confided Hades. The only other high being that would associate with them. Even if they were never Hade's first choice.
But Death told Hades about the many changes to come. Like how they plan to eventually get rid of the underworld. Their symbol and trophy to rub into Life's face of their power over said, god.
Hades did not like this much. But he was confident he would take over Olympus before that would happen. But of course, things didn't go that way.
So as not to lose anything else, using the last of his power to hide the remaining piece of the underworld and a few mortal followers. Becoming the Isle of woe.

Y/n knew that this next series of events might be the only chance to find this isle of Woe. At least for a long time.
So in the middle of the night, Y/n woke Jamil and asked for his assistance.
Y/n informed Jamil what was about to go down in the morning. So they gave Jamil an enchanted necklace to hide him in plain sight. While they took on his form and be captured in his stead.
Jamil agreed to this since he doesn't like the thought of being dragged off to possibly be never seen again.

~~SNAP! SNAP! CRACK! SNAP!!~~
" What are those!? They’re all flying in the sky with their– Wait, are those hoverboards!?"Kalim gasped.
"What in the world…!? Unless there are events, the school is supposed to be protected with a magical ward to keep intruders away," Vil said in a slightly nervous tone.
"No, the Barrior is breaking," 'Jamil' said.
"They’re heading this way. One, two… Incoming! Take cover, everyone!" Rook said to everyone.
"Jamil" quickly raised a shield to protect everyone from the debris and robots falling from a ceiling.
"Are you alright, Y/n?" Deuce asked as he helped "y/n" stand up.
"This is the Hepta Unit. We have visuals on Subjects D and E. Beginning Detainment Maneuvers," The bots said.
" I do not know who you are, but it is absolutely impolite to be barging in through windows! I will acknowledge this as an emergency! On my authority as the Pomefiore Prefect, you are all given permission to use magic against these intruders!" Vil said.
"Wait! Vil, I need you to think carefully," 'Jamil' said quickly. " We are outnumbered, and most of the students here are rookie wizards. You Rook, and maybe myself can last a while, but the first years."
Vil scowled as he realized Jamil's assessment was right, and they would risk a lot if they fight.
"Then what do you recommend we do?" Vil glared but gasped as he watched Jamil raise his arms and surrendered.
" What!?" Everyone gasped.
" They are only after us. If we don't resist no one will get hurt," Jamil said simply, Vil sighed in frustration as he slowly raised his hands.
_______________________________________
As the fiery robotic men loaded the overblot boys into the airship, "Jamil" gave one final look back to the school. Only to see the VDC group running in the distance, trying to reach them in time.
"Jamil" smiled warmly as the airship door began to close. My heart warmed that mortals were trying to save them-... No, save Jamil.
But It was a long Flight, and the most "Jamil" could do was let Riddle rest on their lap. When the boy woke up, he was a bit startled. But "Jamil" Was quick to comfort the boy.
But Azul quickly pointed out that "Jamil" was acting strange. So Y/n decided to let them in on the plan a bit.
So "Jamil " explained how the Isle of Woe is the only place in the world that is hidden from the eyes of Death. It is also the place where many blot monsters are stored.
The boys asked why death would care so much about Blot monsters. With "Jamil" would explain that when a person overblots, for a time they will be joined by a blot phantom.
But eventually, the phantom will consume the victim and store the person's soul deep within it. Leaving the soul in perpetual torment, till the Phantom is destroyed.
-----------------------------------------------
"And you know this how?" Leona glared.
"Cause they told me. So in my plans to get into better standing and redemption. I am willingly being their eyes, and beckon for them to track down," Jamil smirked.
"So that's why you didn't want to fight, Y/n wanted this to happen," Vil sighed in annoyance.
"They also wanted no one to get hurt," Jamil snapped back.
"So how long must we wait for Y/n to rescue us?" Azul asked nervesly.
"Only Time will decide," Jamil said.
"Umm don't you mean 'Only time can tell' ?" Riddle asked.
"No," Jamil said simply.
"So these robots are from the Isle of Woe?" Vil asked.
"They’re S.T.Y.X’s special security unit, Charon. It’s their job to capture magicians who have Overblotted so they could be transported to the Island of Woe," Leona explained, then smirked. " But the fact that not even Y/n can find this place must be a blow to their ego. Score one for mortals."
"I think you mean score one for Hades," Jamil said as he went on to explain the story of Hades, Death, and the Underworld.
Apparently, the story was so Gripping and engaging, the 4-hour flight was over in a flash. They have arrived on the Isle of Woe, with Idia there to greet them. But as soon as Jamil stepped off the airship a wave of cries and howls filled their ears, the sounds that went unheard by everyone else.
"̶w̷҉̧h͘͟y͜͝͏ h͘a͏̵v͢e̸ ̡̀͝y̡o͏u̵͠ ̛̀f̷̨͢o͜r̴̕͜s̷̢a̧͝͏k̷͠en͏̷ ͟u̧̨s̕͡,̡ ͡d͢ea̢͠͡th͟

The voices cried out, it was so overwhelming Y/n almost dropped their disguise. But they composed themselves and held back their tears.
As Idia put the boys through many tests, he noticed something strange about Jamil's vitals. That he didn't have any vitals or basic signs of life. Before Idia could pull Jamil aside for questioning, he was locked in the meeting room with the rest of the NRC boys.
________________________________
Idia began to question Jamil, but he didn't really answer any of the questions. Till ortho pointed out that Jamil had no body heat. So seeing no need to hide, they dropped the illusion.
Revealing Death.
Idia began to panic as he quickly stood, but before calling for hade's level to shut down. His calling device suddenly shut down from low power, and the same with some of Ortho's functions.
Y/n sat down confidently as Idia trembled in his boots, and the others sat in awe and confusion. Vil was just frustrated that he was tricked so easily.
"Y-you can't be here! The Isle of Woe is supposed to be hidden from you?!" Idia panicked.
"You can only hide from death for so long," Y/n said simply as they rested their elbows on the table.
"W-why are you here?" Idia asked slowly.
"I'm here to collect all the souls in Tartarus," Y/n said simply.
"This isn't the underworld, there are no souls to collect," Idia glared.
"That is untrue. Phantoms hold the souls of their victims and those it slaughters. I am here to collect them," Y/n said.
"but that would mean you will destroy the phantoms. But we need them to study and find a way to stop blot," Idia reasoned.
"Those 10,000 and more souls have been suffering for thousands of years. I think it's time to give them an out," Y/n replied as they stood up.
"Demands here, demands there… This isn’t a zoo, damn it. Did you forget what I said earlier? Don’t make me repeat myself again… I!!! AM!!! THE!!! BOSS!!!" Idia shouted as stood in front of Y/n, blocking their path.
"HAHAHAHAHA!!" Y/n laughed, so much so that they had to lean against the table to support themselves. "You almost remind me of Hades. But no Your not my boss, and are you okay with keeping Ortho the first in Tartarus, to suffer till the end of time? You made a machine of him, so why not let the real one go?"
Idia froze as Y/n bore into his soul when suddenly the power went out as the room went dark.
______________________________________________
Things just did not get better, as Y/n learned that Rook and Epel had tracked them down. And the blot phantoms had felt the presence of their doom. So in one last desperate attempt, they manipulated the bot Ortho. To Get Idia down to them.
With this, the isle of woe went into Chaos. The NRC boys went to go collect the thunder staff, but thanks to Y/n there were little to no phantoms standing in their way.
Y/n, in a blink of an eye, was making quick work of the phantom. Ortho was not happy about the lack of challenge to the NRC boys.
But eventually, The boy manages to push the final phantom back to Tartarus. The phantom using Ortho's voice cried out to Idia.
Idia jumped to follow his "brother" to Tartarus, but Y/n in one clean motion slayed the phantom.
______________________________________________
As Idia's memories and regrets flashed in his mind, he slowly opened his eyes to find himself in the void. As he sat up, he heard a familiar voice in the distance, he turned to See Ortho. He was sitting on death's lap as the two were talking when Ortho noticed Idia. Death helped ortho to his feet as Ortho ran to Idia and hugged him tightly.
"Thank you for looking out for me. You’ve made me so happy. But, you can’t be here yet, Big Brother," Ortho said.
"Ortho… Why? I want to go with you. We made a promise, didn’t we? And You," Idia turned to Death. " Why did you save me, I just wanted to follow Ortho."
"Because Ortho and I believe it's not your time yet," Y/n answered.
"You still have comics to read, concerts to watch, and new games to play, don’t you…? You love this world too much to give up on it completely," Ortho added.
"What!? Who said I loved this rotten world!? All that nonsense can just disappear!" Idia said as he began to tremble.
"Not everything has to make sense. You shouldn’t have to give up on anything ever again. You have your future ahead of you, Big Brother.  You see, I want you to fulfill the dreams we talked about that day," Ortho smiled.
"Our Dream?" Idia asked.
"I’m sure it will take a long time. You might feel like giving up along the way, but… I know… I’m sure you can go anywhere, Brother. It may be long and tiring, but you’ll get there someday. It’s okay. I’ll be right there with you always. Please, don’t give up," Ortho said as he gave one last squeeze of a hug. He slowly let go of Idia and turned to Death. "Okay, I'm ready to go now."
"Wait, Ortho! Death Please Don't Take Him?!" Idia begged as he watched Ortho grab Y/n's hand.
"Actually I have something special for you, and I want Idia to be there. But he needs to wake up first," Y/n explained.
"Really, I can't wait. Hurry and wake up big brother," Ortho said.
________________________________________
When Idia came to, standing over him was Y/n and some old man. Who was actually Vil? Idia shyly apologized to everyone and said he would probably never return to school.
But Grim and everyone else was not going to let him off easy, telling him to fix ramshackle at least. But the group was spooked to see the ghost of ortho next to Y/n.
"Well before you do anything else I will need you to come with me Idia," Y/n said as ortho grabbed their hand.
"H-huh W-why?" Idia asked.
"To accompany ortho and me when we go to see someone important. And I think Vil will need to come too," Y/n sighed.
"Why am I needed?" old man vil asked.
"To help with your situation," Y/n said. "And the rest of you are free to go back to the school, we will catch up."
"W-wait where are you going?" Epel asked.
"And where is this important person?" Riddle asked.
"In the void between dimensions and the worlds," Y/n answered simply.
"Who could you possibly be taking them to?" Azul asked.
"Life," Y/n smiled

Good evening, if possible, I have a request for Hades, Poseidon and Thor (each separately). With a wife he always wears her long hair in a braid.
What would be the reaction of each god upon witnessing how his beloved woman's throat was nearly slit?
This is the context, they were both having a nice walk when Göll saw y/n and they were talking calmly, having her husband watching from a little distance so as not to bother the little valkyrie.
And let's say that for some reason they were distracted one second and the next they saw his wife throw herself to the ground, covering the Valkyrie and saving both of them from being sliced by an object or cutting attack at high speed.
And then... in front of y/n and Göll lands a large piece of braided hair belonging to the older woman, something like:
Göll: I'm so sorry miss y/n! For saving me her pretty hair ended up in pieces!
y/n: little sparrow, it's just hair, it could have been my neck, but it would still have been worth the risk to save you.
Well whoever caused the attack did it by accident... but I guess the husband wouldn't say the same. And surely Aphrodite will want to rip off the ears of the guy who destroyed the hair of her favorite client at her beauty salon.
(well I'm leaving... it was a pleasure to send this, you can add another deity if you want, this idea is all yours)
-Y/N, a goddess of beauty and elegance, known for her long flowing hair, that was always kept in the most intricate braids adorned with fresh flowers.
-Undone, your hair was more than eight feet long, which was quite long, compared to your petite, 52 body.
-Your husband adored your long hair, finding it soothing to help you brush out your hair after a long day, much like stroking a cat, it was simple but soothing.
-You had been walking with your darling husband, enjoying the nice weather before the rainy season was going to start, when you heard out a cheerful voice calling out your name and the two of your turned to see Goll, the youngest valkyrie, running towards you.
-You greeted her warmly and your husband gave her at least a nod before he stepped away, to give the two of you a bit of privacy as Goll asked for your advice, woman to woman, which you were happy to provide.
-You spoke for a few minutes, giggling with each other before a loud snapping sound was heard before a voice shouted out, “Look out!!”
-Before Goll could even blink, you had her in your arms, tackling her to the ground, landing hard, but she was unharmed.
-You both quickly sat up and Goll shouts out, “You’re bleeding!” you lift a hand to your cheek, wincing as you felt a cut, one that was bleeding before Goll gasped, eyes wide and you look over to see the majority of your braid laying nearby, sliced clean from your head.
-Hades- Hades, seeing you go down, protecting Goll, seeing your hair falling to the ground, unattached. He froze, seeing this before he felt his rage swell, seeing your bleeding cheek. He immediately was by your side, “Y/N!” your free hand, as the other was holding your bleeding cheek, gripped his arm as he looked at your face, “I’m fine, I’m okay!” you could sense your husband’s anger who instantly turned on the pair of younger gods who had been playing with a bow while Goll was crying, “I’m sorry! Your pretty hair!!” you couldn’t help but smile, rubbing her tears away, “It’s just hair Goll, it’ll grow back. I’m just glad you’re not hurt.” The two gods had sprinted over, seeing that you had gotten hurt before seeing Hades there, realizing who you were and they were both quickly crying, begging for forgiveness. Hades was glaring down at them as Goll helped you stand and she grabbed your braid; your hand met your husband’s arm, “Dear, it was an accident. Please don’t be too harsh on them.” The two gods looked at you as if you were a saint and he inhaled deeply, his eyes closing before he told them to get out of his sight. He turned to you before turning to Goll, “Take us to the med-bay.” She quickly nodded and led the way to get your cheek looked at. You had to stroke the back of his hand with your thumb the whole way, to calm him down, smiling up at him.
-Poseidon- He instantly had the two young gods who had been playing with a bow on their knees before him, like he was going to execute them, once he saw you go down. He didn’t see your injury right away, all he saw was you leaping in front of the child to protect her, which you wouldn’t have needed to do, if these two hadn’t been playing around with weapons. When he heard Goll shout out that you were bleeding, he turned in what felt like slow motion, his eyes instantly widening, seeing your beautiful braid laying nearby, and you holding a bleeding cut on your cheek. He felt so hot, like he was about to burst into flames, he was going to turn back to the two gods before he saw you comforting Goll, brushing her tears away, “My hair will grow back Goll, it was a small price to pay to keep you safe. And I know the valkyries will help with this cut.” Goll helped you stand and you turned to your husband, a soft look in your eye, he was froze in place, he felt like he wanted to give these two idiots behind him even worse. His eyes were locked on your hand that was dripping blood, and you could see the anger, but your other hand came to his cheek, cupping it and pulling him out of his shock, “My love, it was an accident. I think you’ve scared them enough. Will you escort me and Goll to the med-bay?” he turned and glanced at the gods, giving them a glare that made them nearly leap out of their skin, before he growled out, “Get out of my sight.” He picked you up princess style, surprising you and Goll picked up your braid and led the two of you off.
-Thor- His hand was on your cheek before you could blink, cupping your face carefully, seeing the cut and the blood, his face stoic but his eyes full of worry. You were quick to cup one of his cheeks and one of Goll’s, working on calming them both down, “I’m okay- I’m okay, deep breaths.” They should have been the ones calming you down, but you were shushing Goll as she was crying, “It’s just hair Goll, it will grow back.” Thor stroked the back of your neck, just above where your hair had been sliced off. The two young gods quickly ran over, bowing deeply and begging for forgiveness. I could feel the pressure around Thor, as he was furious as they explained they were trying to use a bow that required more strength than what they had and underestimated it. I shocked everyone by smiling at them, “It was an accident, so I’m not upset. Take your time with your training so something like this doesn’t happen again.” Thor was glaring darkly at them, but did nothing as you forgave them and they ran off, not wanting to enrage Thor anymore than they had. Thor swept you into his arms after you stood, your knees a bit shaky and Goll grabbed the braid, “Follow me, I’ll take you to the med-bay.” He nodded, squeezing you to him, slowly calming down, feeling you safe and sound in his arms.
-Aphrodite- While you were fine to lose your hair, the shriek that left Aphrodite and the other ladies of her beauty salon could be heard at even the furthest pantheons. You held the braid over your arm, bandage over your cheek, your hair uneven where it had been cut, and your pissed off husband behind you. Aphrodite was quick to fall back onto her chase lounge, fanning herself as she demanded to know what happened while you were ushered to a chair so you could get immediate help. You couldn’t help but hide your smile behind your hand, seeing them mourning over your gorgeous hair while your new cut was evened out. Your husband did like your new haircut when you came out of the salon about an hour later, most of your time spent consoling Aphrodite. You gave a little twirl, rubbing your neck, “It’s so light now~ I kind of like it! But I want my long hair back soon, I like it when you play with my hair.” Your husband just chuckled, bending to peck your uninjured cheek, a small smile on his lips.

'Til Death
Chapter 8: First Date
Chapter 7: Passing the Time
Chapter 9: The Exes (WIP)
Wake up, babes! We finally got chapter 8 of ‘Til Death! Lmao, but seriously I just wanted to apologize for the long wait. I really struggled trying to write some authentic and in-character dialogue for these two lol. Also life and work got in the way too, so yeah. But now I can really get to the “nitty gritty” parts of the story! I’m very excited to write for those next chapters coming up! Hopefully, those won’t take forever to write like this chapter lol! But anyways, please enjoy!
Tumblr media
Persephone waited for the black smoke that surrounded them to dissipate before taking a look at her surroundings, wondering what this “perfect spot” that Hades was referring to would be like.
When the smoke finally cleared Persephone found herself by a river bank. The grass was a dark green color and the trees that stood nearby the river were sparsely covered with warm colored leaves. You could really tell it was autumn and that Persephone’s mother, Demeter, was busy at work. The rushing water in the river was practically crystal clear as it ran along various rocks and logs. Persephone could see fishes of various sizes swimming along the current to their unknown destination as well as the occasional autumn leaves being swept away by the current.
“Breathtaking, isn’t it? Not bad for the River Styx.” Hades remarked as he surveyed the area as well, his hands planted firmly on his hips.
Persephone looked at Hades with surprise. “Wait, this is the River Styx?” she asked in disbelief.
“Yup, the one and only aqua border and river route to the Underworld.“ Hades answered as he crossed his arms and smiled proudly while looking at the river.
“Huh, I never knew this was part of the River Styx. I thought it only consisted of souls of the dead.” said Persephone.
“It does in the Underworld, but outside the Underworld it’s just a plain old river and a pretty nice one at that if I do say so myself.” Hades replied.
Persephone smiled then looked around at the empty, grassy area they were in. “So, where’s this picnic you were talking about?” she asked as she raised her brow curiously.
Hades grinned as he snapped his fingers and suddenly an entire picnic, blanket included, appeared on the grass before them. The blanket was a dark blue color, contrasting greatly with the green grass around it. An array of delicious looking foods were scattered on one half of the blanket while the other half was empty, leaving room for the two gods to sit on it.
“Voila. A picnic for two.” Hades declared, presenting the set up to Persephone as if it were a work of art.
“Wow, you certainly went all out.” Persephone remarked as she went over to the blanket to sit on it.
Persephone observed the food laid out on the blanket as Hades sat next to her. The picnic looked more like a feast rather than a small lunch. There were lots of Grecian finger foods like tirokroketes, tzatziki with fresh baked pita bread and veggies, and tomatokeftedes. There were even foods she’s never even seen before like little triangle shaped pieces of bread with some sort of tomato sauce and cheese. Of course, Hades didn’t forget that Persephone had a bit of a sweet tooth, as there were many scrumptious desserts on the blanket as well like melomakarona, kourabiedes, and Persephone’s favorite, bougatsa. Sitting on the edge of the blanket were two black colored goblets that looked like they came straight out of the Underworld and a pitcher of nectar (which also looked similar to the goblets).
“What can I say? I like a little variety with my meals.” Hades replied with a cheeky smile and shrug. “Go ahead. Dig in.”
Persephone looked at him and smiled before helping herself to some of the mysterious foods on the blanket. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen some of these foods before. What is this stuff?” Persephone asked, picking up a cream filled treat covered in powdered sugar and chocolate chips.
“I figured you might like some Roman dishes. Those guys stink at naming gods, but they make some great food. Try it. It’s really good.” Hades answered as he poured some nectar from the pitcher into the goblets for each of them.
“Funny, you said the same thing about the worms. I’m surprised you didn’t bring any.” Persephone joked.
Hades smirked as he replied, “Uhh, as I recall you liked the worms, so don’t sound so skeptical. Anyways, I thought I’d be a little more classy by keeping bugs off the menu.”
Persephone giggled softly before taking a bite of the sweet looking pastry. Her eyes widened as her mouth formed a small smile. “Oh my gods, this is the best thing I’ve ever tasted! What’s it called?!” Persephone asked with delight after swallowing.
“Cannoli.” Hades answered with a grin before taking a sip of nectar. He found her excitement and wondrous delight in food to be adorable. The way her face lit up when she found something new to be truly delicious made Hades’ nonexistent heart skip a beat.
“Well, I think cannolis are my new favorite food!” Persephone giggled before taking another bite of the creamy pastry.
Hades chuckled softly as he looked at her with admiration. Gods, how could one goddess be so darn cute? The two sat in comfortable silence for a moment as they both snacked on food, the natural sounds of the nearby flora and fauna putting them at ease as they took in the beautiful view of their surroundings.
“So…we’re here. We’re eating. Didn’t you say you wanted to talk?” Persephone asked as she grabbed another piece of food from the blanket.
Oh, right. This was supposed to be a date. Though, Hades didn’t actually say it was a date, but this is what it was supposed to be and a date is supposed to involve talking and getting to know each other.
“Well, what do you wanna talk about?” Hades asked before taking a bite out of one of the tomatokeftedes.
Persephone paused for a moment, trying to think of a subject to discuss. She then looked at Hades with a sweet smile. “Could you tell me more about your mother? I like hearing you talk about her. It’s nice.”
Hades smiled fondly at the comment before taking a final bite of his food. “Heh, sheesh, where do I even start?”
“Does she have any hobbies besides watching over the cosmos?” Persephone asked.
“Oh, yeah. Believe it or not, my mom’s a total party animal. Seriously, I think she could out-party Bacchus!” Hades answered with a chuckle.
“Really?” asked Persephone in slight disbelief as she chuckled with him.
“Yeah, you’ve never been to a ‘Rhea party’ before?”
Persephone shook her head. “Well, next time my mom throws a party I’m takin’ you with me, babe. Let me tell ya, her parties are wild! I’m not joking, last party she threw she made her grand entrance by riding in on a lion! A lion! Can you believe that?!”
“Wow,” Persephone giggled. “When I asked about your mother’s hobbies, that's the last thing I expected to hear! I think I’d love to meet her one day. I can tell you really admire her by the way you talk about her.”
“What’s not to admire? She’s amazing! Besides, her parties are the only ones I can attend where I’m actually welcome…and invited.” Hades said as he took another sip of his glass of nectar. “So, I told you about my family. What about yours? What’s the deal with your dad? I’ve never heard anybody talk about him.”
“Oh, that’s because I don’t have one.” Persephone replied casually.
“Ah, I get it.” Hades said with a nod. “Deadbeat dad. Left for goat milk and never came back, right?”
“No, it’s nothing like that. I just literally don’t have a father. You really don’t know how my sister and I were born?” Persephone asked, surprised that this god who seemed to know everything about everything didn’t know how she was born.
“We’re both about the same age and we grew up in different parts of Greece, so besides reproduction, no. I have no idea how you were born. What? Did you pop out of your mother’s head or something?” Hades asked with a playful smirk.
Persephone laughed at his silly question. “No. Back when the titans were still running things my mom was busy using her powers trying to make the Earth a better place. More beautiful. Of course, that’s a little difficult when you have titans like Pyros and Lythos running around destroying everything in their path. So, safe to say, my mom had her work cut out for her and she didn’t think she’d have the time to find a husband and maintain a relationship, but she did really want kids, so she found a safe place somewhere in Attica and planted some sort of ‘magical sprout-let’. While it grew she watered it and gave it some sun, y’know, normal gardening stuff. Then, 9 months later, the sprout bloomed into a flower and here I am! Of course, the same process happened with my sister too, so the real reason why mortal parents tell their children babies come from ‘magical gardens’ is because of my mother.”
Hades smiled as she explained the story of her birth, listening to every word. “Huh, and here I thought it was because they didn’t wanna teach their kids about the birds and the bees at such a young age.”
Persephone laughed again at his comment. “Yeah, that too.” she replied.
“But seriously, why does that not surprise me in the slightest? You being born from a flower of all things.” Hades said.
“I know. The flowery spring goddess being born from a magical flower? What a shocker!” Persephone replied sarcastically as she smiled.
A sudden noise from nearby immediately interrupted the gods’ conversation. A mother duck and her ducklings had decided to hop onto dry land after swimming in the river. Persephone smiled as she watched the ducks shake the water off their feathers and waddle near the picnic blanket. She then manifested a bunch of seeds into her hand and offered them to the duck and her babies. The ducks eagerly ate the seeds in Persephone’s hand as Hades watched with a smile. He wasn’t really big on “cutesy stuff” like this (in fact, this sort of stuff kinda disgusted him), but when he looked at Persephone and how sweet she looked feeding those ducks, Hades just couldn’t help but smile. The goddess was so stinkin’ cute that even Hades wasn’t immune to her adorable charm.
One of the ducklings, struggling to find room around Persephone’s arm to eat some of the seeds, then wandered over to Hades after its failed attempts to reach her handful of seeds. Hades looked down to see the fluffy, yellow, little duckling chirping at him, as if it were asking him for some food.
“Uhh, no. Go away. Shoo. Food’s over there. Go on.” Hades said, trying to gently shoo the chirping duckling away from him as he looked at it with slight disgust.
Persephone lightly chuckled and placed some seeds on the blanket near the little duckling. The duckling turned around and saw the seeds, instantly going towards them to eat them as other ducklings started going over to the small pile of seeds.
Hades looked over at Persephone and just couldn’t stop smiling and staring at her. She was just so sweet and beautiful. He couldn’t not look at her. He was so distracted by her, in fact, that he didn’t even notice that some of the ducklings that had gathered nearby were starting to waddle on top of him and into his lap. It wasn’t until he heard the sound of many chirping ducklings that Hades actually looked down to see the baby ducks all spread onto his lap. Some were even trying to hop up to climb up his chiton.
Persephone giggled when she noticed Hades with the baby ducks in his lap and how confused he was by it. Hades looked over at her again when he heard her giggling.
“I think they like you.”
Hades raised his brow and smiled as he looked back down at the ducklings. “Well, it’s no wonder you little things are easy prey. You’re a poor judge of character.”
Persephone laughed at Hades’ witty comment before the mother duck that stood by the spring goddess started quacking at her babies. The ducklings then waddled away from Hades and straight to their mother, one little duck straggling behind the others after clumsily tumbling out of Hades’ lap. The gods then watched the family of ducks waddle off into the forest behind them.
Hades then picked up his goblet of nectar once again and took a sip. “So, there’s something I’ve been dying to ask you since the day you yelled at me.”
Persephone then looked over at Hades and smirked. “Oh? And what would that be?”
“You said you didn’t have a say in what role you’d get as a goddess, so what kind of role would you have picked if you had the chance? I’m genuinely curious.”
Persephone looked down in thought. “Huh, I guess I never really thought about it before. Well, I mean, I have thought about it, but just not…deeply...”
There was a short pause as Persephone thought about her answer. She then chuckled to herself, trying to think of something. “I dunno. There’s a lot of things I’d like to be goddess of.”
“Like?” Hades asked, wanting her to continue her thoughts.
“Like, Goddess of Beauty and Love. Aphrodite has an amazing role. She blesses mortals with beauty and helps them fall in love. I think that’s really sweet, but there’s always a down side to every role, y’know? Like, having to deal with mortals that fall out of love with each other or mortal women begging and pleading to be blessed with beauty.”
“Yeah, I guess you’ve got a point there.” Hades replied.
“But, I hope you don’t think I hate my role as a goddess because of what I said. I really do like being Goddess of Spring. It’s just…sometimes my family makes it hard for me to enjoy what I do…but, I dunno, at the same time I guess it would’ve been nice to have a say in what I get to do for the rest of eternity. Who knows? Maybe I could’ve been Goddess of the Underworld.”
Hades chuckled. “Goddess of the Underworld, huh? Alright, I see how it is. Are you vying for my job now?” he asked with a smirk.
“Nah, I was thinking maybe we could do a partnership. Like a ‘duo deity’ sort of thing.” Persephone replied with a playful smirk.
“Oh, a partnership. Well, you show a lot of promise, babe. I mean, you’re pretty good at organizing scrolls for me, so I could make something work. How about you send me your resume and I’ll beseech you with an offer at my earliest convenience, alright?” Hades jokingly suggested.
Persephone laughed as Hades joined her. “Alright, deal.”
There was another moment of silence as the two just sat there, enjoying each other’s company as they looked at the natural scenery before them.
Hades then turned to Persephone to speak. “Hey, uhh…you wanna…go for a walk along the river for a little bit?” he casually asked.
“Sure.” Persephone replied with a nod before getting up from the picnic blanket, wiping any dirt, grass, or crumbs from her chiton before making her way along the river bank.
Hades stood up as well, brushing himself off before snapping his fingers, causing the picnic to disappear in a cloud of black smoke. He then followed after Persephone to walk along with her.
The two gods spent the rest of their time just walking along the river and talking. They told stories, cracked jokes, shared their likes and dislikes. They had gotten so lost in conversation that it had already reached sunset and were now heading towards the end of the River Styx.
They spotted a wooden bridge across the river, the bridge that crossed the border between the entrance to the Underworld and the entrance to the mortal part of the Earth. They decided to stop on the bridge and watch Apollo slowly pull the sun across the sky.
Hades looked over at Persephone and smiled as he admired her. She was so gorgeous. The way her hot pink hair flowed in the breeze. That adorable little smile she almost always seemed to have on her face and how her amethyst colored eyes always sparkled. Hades was positively stunned by her beauty. Everything about her was truly perfect in every way. That honestly used to annoy him, but now it’s one of the many things he finds so attractive about her. It was so crazy how after getting to know her, his perception of Persephone really changed.
Hades then looked down to the water of the river rushing under the bridge, trying to decide whether he should finally make a move on Persephone. He didn’t want to ruin the moment by making her uncomfortable, but this was such a great opportunity to do something romantic. Anything romantic. But…what if she was getting mixed signals this entire time and thought this was some sort of friendly outing? What if she gets creeped out by his advances and leaves? He’s already come so far with her, especially with this impromptu date. He didn’t want to ruin things now, but…he couldn’t let this beautiful moment go to waste. Who knows when he’ll get another moment like this with her? Decisions, decisions…
Persephone looked over at Hades who seemed to be lost in thought. His face had a focused expression as he watched the water while he leaned on the railing of the bridge. Persephone smiled as she observed him. It amazed her how well she got along with him and how much they had in common with each other. She was honestly really glad she took the chance to actually get to know Hades. Not a lot of gods out there were willing to do that, but she was and it was certainly worth it.
The spring goddess continued to study Hades’ features as he looked at the water below. His gaunt face, his gray-blue skin, his fiery blue hair that always made cute little swirls when he walked around, the surprisingly well toned muscles on his arms. Hades really wasn’t that bad looking of a god. In fact, Persephone oddly found him to be quite handsome. She loved the way he laughed, the way he smiled at her when he gave her a genuine compliment, the way he took in every single word she said when she spoke to him as if it were the most important information he could ever retain.
That fluttery feeling started to come back to Persephone, like that night when Hades talked to her under the stars. It was like a bunch of butterflies were floating around in her tummy. She looked at Hades again and the feeling got stronger and stronger the more she thought about the things she admired about him…and then…it hit her. The sudden realization hit her like a tidal wave from Poseidon that this feeling she had been getting...it was love. She had fallen in love with Hades. She was in love with him this whole time and she never even knew it. Whenever they subtly flirted with each other, when they smiled at each other, when Hades showed genuine appreciation for each and every plant she made for him in Asphodel Meadows, whenever she blushed when he said something sweet to her. The signs were all there and she never saw them until now. This god that she once despised has now stolen her heart and she had no idea what to do.
A million questions and thoughts rushed through Persephone’s mind as she came to this sudden realization. She looked out and the sunset, once more. The sun was nearly gone from the horizon and it wouldn’t be long now before Artemis would shoot her arrow towards the sky to bring out the moon.
The pink goddess turned to Hades and took a shaky breath. She had no idea what she was doing right now. It seemed like she was doing whatever her body told her to do in that moment.
“Um…Hades?”
Persephone’s soft and somewhat shaky voice brought Hades out of his thoughts as he turned to her.
“Yeah?”
He now had her full attention as she nervously stroked a lock of her hot pink hair, looking down to avoid looking at Hades.
“I, um…I just….wanted…to tell you…...”
Persephone truly had no idea what she was doing right now, but for some reason she had this urgent need to tell Hades how she felt. She was terrified and excited all at the same time. She finally looked up at Hades and found him watching her with anticipation, waiting for what she had to say. It wasn’t until she looked into his glowing yellow eyes that the words slipped out of her mouth.
“….I love you.”
For a split second, Hades’ expression turned to one of surprise before Persephone quickly and suddenly placed her hands on his chest and kissed him. Little blue flowers started to bloom out of her hair when her lips met with his.
Hades’ eyes grew wide as his pupils dilated. His blue flame began to flare up as his body tensed. He wasn’t expecting her to kiss him, let alone tell him she loved him.
Persephone could feel Hades tense up and for a moment she considered stopping, worrying that she had just made a huge mistake, but then she felt Hades relax. This was exactly what Hades wanted from all this. He wanted her to fall for him and she obviously did, he just didn’t expect her to admit her feelings to him right then and there.
Hades melted into her kiss as he kissed her back, gently cupping her soft and rosy cheek. They then separated for air as they looked at each other again. Persephone’s face was flushed red like a strawberry and Hades could help, but smile. His sudden flare up was starting to die down as well as he gazed into Persephone’s eyes. He then noticed the little blue flowers in her hair and smirked as he picked one, studying it with a fond expression before looking back at her.
“Y’know, I think blue looks really good on you.”
Persephone smiled back at him and giggled as she then cuddled into the crook of his neck while she wrapped her arms around him. Hades dropped the little flower and wrapped his arms around Persephone as he rested his head atop hers.
Everything just felt so right, like they belonged in each other’s arms. They stood there on the bridge, holding each other close as the sun finally set and the moon appeared in the sky.
Persephone then looked up at him and smiled. Hades looked down at her with a soft smile and brushed a piece of hair away from her face. “How about we call it a night, huh?”
Persephone nodded as they separated before they both disappeared from the bridge in a burst of blue flames. The gods then reappeared in the Underworld, now holding hands as Hades walked Persephone back to her bedroom in comfortable silence. Neither god could stop smiling after that kiss. They were truly happy at that moment and they never wanted that feeling to go away.
When the two gods finally reached the doors to Persephone’s room, Persephone let go of Hades’ hand and walked over to said doors. She turned to him one last time, still feeling flustered from the kiss. “Thank you…for everything today. I had a wonderful time…and I hope we can do that again soon.”
Hades continued to smile as he looked at her with admiration. “Yeah, me too…g’night, Seph.”
Persephone stepped towards Hades and gave him another quick kiss as she cupped his cheek. “Goodnight, Hades.” she said before opening the doors to her room and going inside for the night.
Hades just stood there in front of her room for a moment. Staring at the doors in a lovesick daze before turning around to teleport himself to his throne room. Once there, Hades slowly and calmly took a deep breath.
“WHOOOO!!! YEAH!!! THAT’S WHAT I’M TALKIN’ ABOUT!!! I STILL GOT IT, BABY!!! YEAH!!!”
Meanwhile, as Persephone got herself ready for bed, she just couldn’t wipe the smile off of her face. She just had her first kiss! With Hades! She couldn’t believe it! After hundreds of years of being alone and single, Persephone finally found herself a boyfriend that she truly loved! Persephone went to sleep that night with the biggest smile on her face, knowing that she had finally found love with the one and only God of the Underworld...and oh, gods was her mother gonna flip when she finds out.

Kinktober Gorou -Day Thirteen-
Tumblr media
Tags for the day: Virgin and Dry Humping
Summary: Neither of them suspected they'd have any fun at a club until they met each other and took the time to have some fun. Giving the opportunity for more fun in the future.
Tumblr media
I couldn’t handle the stupid halloween remixes that his bar was blasting. I don't know how many times Monster mash and the Ghostbusters theme song played. While drinking the strongest vodka I could buy I silently prayed to find those girls so I could drag their sorry asses home. I continued my waiting for what seemed like hours but in reality was merely a few minutes. I had zoned out waiting to just vanish when I felt something on my ass. I snapped my head back thinking some drunk got handsy only to see a cute boy who was covering his ears and whimpering.
“I-I’m sorry!” He shouted, the boy was smaller than me but his fluffy features were alluring. I looked around the club before taking the boy and hurrying outside. When I finally felt the piercing autumn wind on my bare arm I took a deep breath.
“Who are you watching?” I asked.
“O-Oh. . .um. . .A few friends.” The boy's voice wavered as he spoke, but I could tell by the slight wag in his fluffy tail he was happy to be outside, “What about you?”
“A horde of Drunkards deemed me the Designated driver.” I said leaning against the club building and looked to the sky, the boy swiftly followed me.
“I-I like your lola bunny costume.” I whipped my head to face him.
“Finally! Someone who knows who I am!  Um. . .what’s your costume?” I asked
“O-Oh um. . . I’m supposed to be Cerberus. . .” I gasped, taking his face into my hands.
“Cerberus?! The Three headed dog from Greek mythology that practically confirms the king of the underworld Hades is a dog lover?! That is single handedly the best costume I’ve ever seen!!” The boy’s ears perked up and he giggled.
“My other heads are passed out in a booth somewhere.” I chuckled, but noticed the pretty blue collar that seemed way too pricey for it to ‘just a costume piece’. But I wasn’t one to judge another’s kink even more so that I wore this lola bunny costume to get fucked easier. But I could tease, couldn’t I?
I hooked my fingers under the collar pulling the boy close, “Do your other heads have a collar?” The fast paced wagging paired with the lowering ears was absolutely adorable. I pulled the boy impossibly closer so my lips ghosted over his.
“I may not be persephone or hades, but will you be a good dog for me?” The man closed his eyes tightly and turned his head in a different direction.
“I-I-I. . .I am very flattered by your interest h-however I am a virgin!” He informed me.
“Should I stop?” The boy’s face was engulfed with red as well as his neck. The boy whimpered and looked back at me and slowly shook his head.
“P-Please don’t.” I smirked, I cupped the boy’s face and planted a kiss on his forehead before latching our lips together. You could tell he was a virgin by the way he kissed but the fact he learned quickly was washing the fact he was a virgin. The boy cupped the back of my neck pulling me even closer as the other hand was pushing my body closer to his.
When our lips finally parted I was breathless, “Such a fast learner.” The boy giggled nuzzled into my chest.
“Mind if we take this to the alley?” The boy shook his head and we hurried to the alley where I saw him about to pull his pants down. I grabbed his wrists and stopped him, “Sorry pup but I am not letting your first time fucking a girl be in an alley.”
I switched our spots, having me against the wall and pulling the boy closer by his hips and making sure one of his legs was between mine. I pulled him into a kiss and pressed my thigh into his hard cock having his hips respond in an instant. As he humped my thigh I was also getting friction.
We continued to make out for what felt like hours but god being with this boy was making me wet my shorts due to my lack of panties. I was too busy moaning into the boy’s mouth to register his hips bucking in over stimulation. My phone was vibrating in my bra as I finally came undone. I rested my head on the boy’s shoulder and planted a sweet kiss on his neck before standing up.
“Phone.” The boy puzzledly handed me his phone and as I input my number and name as well as texted myself. I handed it back to him with a smirk, “Call me when you want to really lose your virginity.” With that I pulled my phone out of my bra seeing the texts from the group chat with an onslaught of ‘where are you?!’  I smirked and took a pic of my car and waited before eventually the night came to and end, hopefully that cutie would call me.

Warnings: No one dies, Female Reader, Mentions of blood, wounds, crying, after battle comfort.
Request: Yes.

≿━━━━༺❀༻━━━━≾
She thought he was going to die.
(Y/n) could still see the blood in the arena from the spot Hades fell, an ugly red blotching up the arena. Right before he fell, Qin saw the heart wrenching, horrified look on your face- and he stopped himself from killing him. Everyone was surprised, suffice to say the least.
"You seem to have someone very important to protect." Qin had said, "While I would normally kill you- I can't take you from her." In the end, Qin won, but you got to keep your lover, and Zeus and Adamantine got to keep their brother.
Your heels clicked against the flooring as you ran down to the infirmary, tears dripping down your pretty cheeks, which where slightly red and patchy in color. You hadn't meant to run straight into Qin, but you did. You, Sasaki, and Qin stared at eachother for a moment the two men shared an awkward look as you bursted into tears for a third time that day.
"A-Aha… Ma'am.." Sasaki started to say, but didn't finish not knowing what to say exactly. Qin was thrown off when your small arms wrapped around him, hugging him tightly- well, as tightly as a girl could.
He gently patted your back, albeit awkwardly at first as you thanked him for sparing your husband's life. His life was precious to you. The little fragments of memories you both shared filled your head, in broken pieces.
"For a Goddess, you're rather nice." Qin admitted, catching your attention. You offered him a smile, wiping your tears with your delicate fingers.
"Not all Gods voted for humankind to be wiped out."
Was all you said, continuing down the hall to see your husband's condition. He was in his bed, all bandaged up and resting. Hades head was propped up on some pillows, and you could already see the blotches and dots of red dirtying the white bandages wrapped around his body.
You hated the color red.
"Darling." Hades snapped you out of your trance, and you looked up, into the soft eyes of your lover, whom had sat up.
"You've been crying."
He notes, looking over at you. (Y/n) gave a small nod, laughing and collecting a tear on her finger. "Yeah." She admitted, "Yeah, I have been."
Her face was cradled in Hades soft hands, his thumbs rubbing against your cheeks gently. Your eyes closed, melting into his touch like the night he had you eating the pomegranate seeds. Hades moved, careful of his wounds and pulled you down into his lap, body's flush together.
"I'm sorry to have been the source of your tears. It was never my intent to make you cry." Hades said, calmly. He let you hide your face in his shoulder, hands smoothing over the soft warm skin of your hips and sides.
"I'm sorry I shouldn't be this weak-"
"Nonsense. Emotions are what makes you strong." Hades said, "Without them you would be a shell of yourself, and I wouldn't like that one bit. Emotional or not, you being you is the reason I love you."
His words were warm against your ear as you held him, the waterworks starting up again in soft, pitiful cries.
"I thought I was going to loose you."
"But you didn't."
He said, fingers brushing through your hair, letting it fall through his fingers like grains of dust. He repeated his words again, as if registering himself that he didn't parish in the battle he fought just minutes ago. The adrenaline still pumping through his veins began to wear down as he held you steady.
He fell back on the bed, pulling you down with him, the blanket being dragged up over the two of you, silence filling the room aside from soft breathing.
He was breathing.
Your reminder for yourself was one that had you calming, shoulders drooping. Enveloped in his arms, his scent filled your nose intoxicatingly, urging your eyes to shut.
"Rest," He told you, hand moving down to curve of your back. "I'll be here when you wake up."
"You promise?"
Hades laughed, a dry laugh that had him winning from his wounds. "Of course. My promises aren't broken easily."

Alright, I'll get on my soapbox again.
In regards to "the kids seem to know everything": this stems from the shorter runtime. There's not enough time to have them hem and haw and be confused for many of their encounters. This may be a detriment to the suspense and the tension, but not enough for me to cry foul. Plus, they're smart! They've prepared or have been prepared for this! It was a quick cut from Santa Monica to Crusty's, implying they took Hermes' cab and he told them about the secret entrance. Hermes probably told them about Procrustes as well. As funny as this scene in the book was, it's okay to gloss over it a little, especially for Disney's ratings. Additionally, all of Percy's confusion on the book, while accurate to the book character, was meant as a teaching moment for the reader to learn about mythology alongside Percy. The viewers here are still learning, but they have less time to do it in. So exposition and expedition is necessary.
It doesn't seem impossible or improbable that Percy would jump to accusing Kronos. Ares had talked about Kronos before, Percy already maybe knew a little bit. Nearly all his dreams take place in those vast sandy dunes around Tartarus, so he made the connection that the voice in his dreams (who is not Hades, he realizes) was coming from there. All the pieces were there, they were shown and not explicitly laid out, and Percy connected the dots. They also "connected the dots" and think Clarisse stole the bolt, so clearly they don't know everything.
In regards to Sally: do you mean to tell me that a single mother of a stubborn, impertinent, ND child who is in mortal danger due to being a demigod would never get frustrated with the situation or with her 8-year-old son who is throwing a stubborn fit in the backseat? Any mother under normal circumstances might. It's clear she has anxiety about Percy's safety, it's clear she's stressed about how best to help him. She has to make hard choices, choices that will upset Percy in the moment because he's 8. He's internalized the guilt about being difficult already (through no fault of either of them), and to a troubled 8-year-old mind it might feel like everyone including your mother is against you. So she snaps a little, has to be a lot more firm because he won't budge and is being an impertinent little shit by locking the door. BUT...what this tells me, what her talk with Poseidon tells me, what her interactions with Percy in episode 1 tell me...is that she made an effort to be more patient and to ensure Percy never felt that way ever again. Percy does not seem mad at her for anything, like he is in the moment in the flashback. He feels so safe with her. She's firmly on his side, makes sure he knows that's he's not broken, he's a miracle, she doesn't want them to be apart but it has to happen. 12-year-old Percy understands, 8-year-old Percy doesn't. They showed us the past and the present to show the development of Sally's parenting, to show us the hard choices she had to make, to show us her humanity, to show us both her and Percy's struggles and how it colors their relationship. In the book, we see Sally through Percy's POV, so she's more idealized. Here, we're taken out of the POV and can see Sally struggle.
I know critical thinking is not as easy for some people. If it's not spelled out obvious, some just don't get it. If so, this is not meant to tell you to just do better. This is directed at those who bitch and moan at these disparities and complain about the lack of "show, don't tell". There is A LOT of exposition by necessity. Some things are glossed over and expedited for brevity's sake. But when the examples above are shown and not told, when there are implications in the subtext, y'all don't pick up on it and claim that it came out of nowhere or it's out of place...and that must mean that this show sucks and is terrible, right? 😑
I'll say it again: judge the show for what it is and what it does, not for what it didn't do or could have done. You're allowed to have your own opinions, but please try to form them based on actual constructive criticism.

“it hurts to say goodbye it always will, but before grief took root, love grew here first.” -v.j.markham
Shadows Withal by Soken
There are no lyrics to this piece but it works for this scene wherein Emet corrects Anthea’s radio, because he has to listen to it too and despite it all really they both care for one another deeply. Find a little written piece below the cut!
Anthea looks out at a barren white landscape beyond the floating image of Zodiark still locked away, and out to the blue planet while their mind wanders and gets immersed in the soft music playing. It had been awhile since they took the time to stand on the balcony and listen to their radio from the days of old. Their companion felt it a bit frivolous to make such a machine with Anthea’s creation magicks, a worry that it would take away from their “limited” supply and at the time the two were helplessly watching the second rejoining, not knowing how it would effect their work. It didn’t, his worry was exaggerated, but Anthea wonders if it was that he just felt saddened he couldn’t contribute, his memory and knowledge lying within the realm of academia. Anthea was just as guilty though, they knew their creation would forever play the same dozen tunes, that not all would be in their complete state, and all the same genre for others were too faded in their memory to warrant a place within it. They sigh, “Maybe you were right my companion, ‘twas too frivolous of a creation.”
Below a man with white hair and golden eyes leans against the blue building taking advantage of the shadows and his dark robe to listen along to songs that take him back to an office, the home of a friend, and his own peaceful nights when he could put down all the responsibilities of Emet-Selch to be Hades for just awhile. Nostalgia kicks in and his shoulders hang as he does his best to ignore the urge that calls for him to reach out to his friend and maybe, just maybe, be able to talk to them like the two used to do. Emet-Selch sighs, it would never be as it once was, too much time had passed and there was no turning back on their choices that they believed to be the right ones. So instead he stays below and listens with eyes closed putting himself back in days long gone when he would do work silently while Anthea sat on the bench between two bookshelves and braided flower stems occasionally humming to what he played.
A fine memory….and one he’s yanked from when the piano chord is out of tune. And then the next one and the one after that, something he wouldn’t have noticed had it not been one of his favorite pieces. He shakes his head, “Still letting your doubts affect your work after all this time my friend.” He pushes himself from the wall, focusing on the object and in his mind’s eye finding the things he needs to alter the tunes. He pulls forth memories of all the songs he’s heard, ones he knows Anthea’s heard, some that they loved, and one that always seemed to play when the two found peace in his office, raises his arm and snaps.
The scratching and static that comes from the radio makes Anthea jump as they stare at the object. It shouldn’t be possible that a signal is lost or interrupted on this barren land and yet the radio acts like when a different researcher would come into the Akademia Anyder and find the music not to their liking. It’s only a few seconds and it settles on a song they hadn’t heard in ages, one they opted to not include when making the radio. A soft tune with a slow baseline and piano that sounded like wings in the air. A small smile replaces the confusion and Anthea listens to their song. The song that still makes their eyes mist over from the memories, but one that also fills their heart with warmth. Anthea looks over the moon once more with a sigh speaking softly, “You’re out there somewhere Emet-Selch, I know you are.”
The man leans against the building once more crossing his arms in satisfaction, mumbling, “There. Isn’t that better, Anthea? Now we can both enjoy some of that peace like we used to….”
“I thank you for the corrections and maybe one day we can sit upon this balcony in silence enjoying the other’s company….”
The two hang their heads and silently say, “For I miss the friendship we once had.”

I keep having dreams where I consume a piece of media that does not exist irl and then explain the plot of it to someone else and I've decided I'm going to keep track of the media my brain invents. the cee dream cinematic universe if you will.
- a horror fiction podcast following a group of siblings (I think there's four of them?) where the eldest slowly goes mad. it's unclear if he's experiencing mental illness or if he's being haunted by ghosts. the climax of the podcast took place in one of those indoor entertainment centers like fuckin fnaf security breach, and the eldest brother snapped and started just attacking people. dream me apparently really liked this podcast lol
- a j.r.r Tolkien length book about a Greek God tormenting some random white woman from America. my dream specified it was zagreus, but Not the zagreus from hades 2018. this was a unique interpretation of the mythological figure. despite this each chapter was bookended by shitty photoshopped art of zag from hades and some random white woman. dream me kept pointing this out to the person they were explaining the plot to and found it fucking hilarious

#19 (A) - Turn a Blind Eye
feat Yrys
so you remember that 5.55 quest cutscene? the one that ended with everyone wanting to punch an elezen in the face? yeah
Yrys, his head full of old memories, is not happy with some things he's saying
(slight cameo by @/starofthemourning's Lahabrea, which was bound to happen at some point lol)
“The ‘Final Days’?” Fourchenault Leveilleur scoffs, his chin raised dismissively, his eyes cold.
Through the anger burning in his veins, Yrys suddenly understands so much about the twins. This man explained so much about the Alphinaud the scions had first met: determined to help, yes, but arrogant and dismissive. Prone to treating others as pieces on a board. Alphinaud had learned better.
It’s apparent his father hasn’t.
“Pray, spare me your hyperbole. This conflict is no more than the latest in a series of petty squabbles between yourselves and Garlemald. One in which Sharlayan will take no part.” Leveilleur pauses, turning to look straight at his children.
He misses the way that Yrys flinches.
“If the Final Days were truly upon us, we would know.” He says, steady and certain, full of so much faith-
Yrys laughs.
His chest aches. He breathes in fire and ash and blood upon the wind, and when he tilts his head back to stare up on sky he is met with a sea of flame and death.
Leveilleur crosses his arms, a fierce scowl upon his face that he can see from the corner of his eye. “If you mean to convince the Forum through this display, you are surely mistaken-”
“We thought that too, once,” he says, watching the stars fall from the sky. The scent of fear heavy in his nose, the taste of despair pungent in the back of his throat, the screams of the dying echoing in his ears.
“What.”
“We would know. We were so certain of that.” He can still hear the discussions in Elpis, in Amaurot. He can remember making those first reports to the Convocation; of those spontaneous, raging concepts.
Fear made manifest.
He can see the bodies of those first children even now. “It was a tragedy and a conundrun and we sent aid. Researchers. But when we found nothing…” Because they had. They searched and searched and searched and still. They had found nothing.
Yrys smiles and it is angry, it is aching, it is ancient. “There was nothing to be found. And so, we turned a blind eye.” The twins heads snap to him and he cannot blame them. His memories are new and old and he hates speaking of them but he- “Amaurot remains untouched, our people cried out, this cannot be the Final Days. We scrambled to find blame, to lay fault.”
“We turned a blind eye to the suffering of our world, because it didn’t affect us,” He says and he feels, more than sees, Leveilleur flinch.
He breathes in.
(Children are screaming and the stars falling; the sickening lurch of aether, spreading like a miasma, a disease of fear, paired with the cracking of bones as blood runs freely in the streets)
He breathes out.
(the bags under Hades’ eyes, Dae smiling as he walks away, Erich begging him to let him go, his Father with claws tipping his fingers and a frown full of fear)
“You think you’ll be safe,” Yrys whispers, meeting blue eyes and he’s tired. He’s angry and he’s grieving and he’s tired. History repeats. “You think you’ll be safe on your little island and you won’t.”
History repeats itself and he-
He’s so fucking tired of watching everyone he loves die.
“You won’t be safe,” he says and he doesn’t know how to make him understand. “You’ll just be the last ones to die.”
You’ll survive to watch the destruction of all you hold dear, Yrys knows. He remembers the death of his world in a way that no one else (not Dae, who was dead. Not Hades, tempered and twisted) does.
I watched my world burn, he thinks and he looks Fourchenault Leveilleur in the eye. Are you prepared to the do the same?
The elezen looks away first.

Ares and Athena through the years - Ch. 24
Chapter Twenty-Four: Declaration of War
.
Everyone had come.
Even the Protogenoi, which caused much murmuring among the other deities and spirits.
Zeus was sitting on his throne with a sombre mien and wearing his full regalia.
Right nex to him sat Hera, Thémis and Ares, behind his throne stood his four attendants, Kratos, Bia, Zelos and Nike; and beside the Scales of Fate in the back sat the Moirai, spinning their threads.
With him being surrounded by that specific group, everyone could tell, that whatever they had been called in for couldn't be good.
It was only after Hermes and Iris had announced everyone's presence, that the King of the Gods rose and addressed everyone: “Deities and spirits of the Hellenic pantheon! I have summoned you, because I have grave news to tell.”
Hades rose from his throne to speak. “What happened, Cloud-Gatherer?”, he demanded to know. “Why have you summoned the entirety of our pantheon? You haven't done that since the Trojan War!”
After making sure, that he had everyone's attention, Zeus cleared his throat and declared: “Alas, I must inform you, that the Persians have declared war on the Hellenes. And one of their panthea has followed suit and declared war on us.”
Moans and outcries went through the crowd, as their expressions ranged all the way from mild nervousness to alarm to downright fear. Only the Protogenoi remained calm and silent.
“Order! Order in the assembly!”, Zeus commanded.
The entire pantheon quieted down almost immediately.
The King of the Skies continued: “As I am sure, many of you want to know why this is happening and what exactly is going on. Those who have questions may stand up. I will answer your questions one at a time.”
There was some hesitation in the crowd, before Athena stood up and several other Olympians, Hades and a few lesser deities followed suit.
Zeus pointed at Hades. “You go first, my brother.”
So Hades asked: “What exactly drove the Persians to declare war on Hellas?”
Zeus frowned: “That is quite a long story. To answer that question, we have to start with the background situation and someone else can explain that in a more comprehensible manner.”
By “comprehensible” he means “idiot-proof”, Athena could tell.
“Ares, if you may do the honours.”
Wait, what???
Ares' face brightened up at being given the privilege.
Then he pulled himself together, went up to the rostrum and with a clear and loud voice began to elaborate: “For several Olympian Years now the Ionian Poleis in Anatolia have been under Persian rule. Compared to other Persian provinces they were given a lot of liberties for reasons I don't know. Even so, the mortals there have grown tired of being ruled by and rebelled against their oppressors. But despite the military assistance of several Poleis, their uprising was squashed by the Persians. Can everyone follow so far?”
Affirmative noises from the crowd.
Only a river god stood up and inquired: “Okay, but what exactly does that have to do with us?”
“I'm gettin' there!”, Ares snapped. “Now, some of you might be aware, that the Persians think they own the world and that to them Hellas is just another province, despite the fact, that they never even conquered us. But they didn't get the hint, so they're plannin' a punitive expedition against Hellas. Not only that, they want to conquer it. They want it to submit, accept Persia's overlordship and pay tributes.”
Agitation rose and Athena could make out inappropriate words of disapproval.
She herself remained silent, too curious where this was going; what did the conflicts of the mortal population have to do with the gods?
Her question was promptly answered, as Ares continued: “The rest is as my father, the King of the Gods, has told you.”
He held up a piece of papyrus and raised his voice: “This is an announcement from one of the Persian panthea, the one around Humban. Or, as you might know them, the Elamite pantheon. They will send a messenger to give us an ultimatum: submit to them or go to war.”
Apollon stood up. “What about the other main pantheon? Ahura Mazda, Angra Mainyu, Mithra and all the divinities around them¹? Do you know anything about their stance yet?”
Ares nodded: “Yeah, their statement came with Humban's war declaration. They have declared absolute neutrality, because they don't care about the conflicts of other panthea. I think this was the only time Ahura Mazda and Angra Mainyu agreed on somethin'. Which is good, because it's one problem less for us to worry about. The Persian Empire's huge and there's a lot of cultures, which makes a lot of panthea. The fewer of them we have to fight, the better. But we haven't gotten any news from the rest yet, so it's possible, that some of them might join their Elamite colleagues, or lend them war deities behind our backs.”
The crowd grew increasingly restless.
Zeus gave Ares a sign to sit back down.
Ares obliged and relinquished the rostrum to his father.
As soon as the King of the Gods stepped up to the speaker, the hall quieted down again, eager to hear what their sovereign would say.
With grim mien and thundering voice, Zeus addressed the assembly: “Deities and spirits! And all of you, who are part of this wonderful, colourful family! Never before have we had any serious problems with any of the other panthea, except for a minor dispute with the Romans a few centuries ago. But that is over. Here come invaders, strangers, who want to rob us and the mortals we're responsible for of our autonomy – for no other reason than their lust for power and their offence at the mortals, who dared to resist! Our freedom is being threatened! Our mortals' freedom is being threatened! Must we put up with this and submit to foreign rule?”
Zeus was talking himself into passion, charging the atmosphere with every word he spoke.
“Must we lie down and let them put the chains of slavery on us? Kiss their feet and call them our overlords? Have we fought Kronos and his followers, fought against Typhon and the Gigantes, just to bow to the Persians? No! I'm telling you that we must not put up with this! We must resist! We and the mortal Hellenes must stand against them! We must fight tooth and nail to defend our freedom and our territory!”
Shouts of agreement resounded from the assembly.
The King of the Skies ended his speech: “The Persians have sent a message: that we are to submit to them or to go to war. You all know my answer. Tell me, fellow deities and spirits: what is your answer? Those of you, who believe that we must face against the Persians in war, rise from your seat!”
Two thirds of the pantheon rose, before sitting back down.
“Those of you, who think that we should accept their rule for the sake of peace and safety, rise!”
No one did.
“Those of you, who wish to remain out of the conflict, rise!”
The Protogenoi, the Chthonic deities (excluding Hades), as well as many of the Titanes, Daimones and Nymphai rose from their seats.
Khronos, the Protogenos of time, stepped forward to explain their stance: “I shall speak for my fellow neutral deities and spirits: that we do not wish to get involved in armed conflict, earthly or divine.”
“As is in the treaty, that I have signed with all of you following the Titanomakhia, which was renewed after the Gigantomakhia”, Zeus assured, “I do remember, venerated forefather.”
“Good”, said Khronos and sat back down, followed by the others.
Zeus turned back to the rest of the assembly: “Those of you, who are indecisive, rise!”
To everyone's surprise, Apollon stood up.
Zeus arched an eyebrow.
Apollon was clearly uncomfortable, but cleared his throat and voiced his concern: “I am unsure about the position I should take on the matter, because I have a few questions that need to be answered, before I can decide.”
“Ask away”, his father consented.
“The Persian Empire has far greater resources than Hellas. It's a more or less united kingdom, as opposed to Hellas, which is comprised of many warring city states. The mortal leaders have far greater armies and wealth and more respect for their sovereign. The Persian pantheon around Humban too has more troops than ours. And should a few deities be indisposed, they can demand support from panthea from subjugated nations.”
“That's true”, Zeus admitted. “But our troops have determination and able commanders. For the mortals, it's very much the same. And against the common enemy, they will unite. As will we. Isn't that so?”
Apollon's discomfort increased: “Well, yes, of course, but what if we-”
“No ifs”, his father cut him off. “Ifs and buts have never got anyone anywhere. Now is no time to overthink. You know that as well as I. Even if we lose, we will still be able to say, that we didn't take it lying down. And that, should we fail, we'd make their victory as costly as possible and try another day. Besides, the only way we could lose in battle is by being unbelievably stupid!”
There was hesitant laughter here and there.
Zeus raised his voice once more: “Deities and spirits of my pantheon! Will you never give up, like I won't? Will you fight with me, until we have chased the Persians out of our land for good?”
There were cheers and affirmative shouting from the crowd, even from the other Olympians.
Zeus waited until they had calmed down, before asking: “And to those, who don't wish to be involved, can I be certain, that you won't hinder us?”
Surprisingly, it was Gaia, who stood up and spoke: “I swear by myself, by Ouranos and the waters that drip from Styx, that I will not hinder you from defending that which dwells on my body from foreign subjugation.”
Impressed by Gaia getting over her grudges for once, the other neutral deities followed suit and swore the Stygian Oath.
The Okeanid Styx, goddess of the sacred oath, confirmed with a nod, that their vows were valid.
Ouranos sighed in relief, when, as a result to Zeus' satisfaction, the extreme weather outside and in his hair and robe calmed considerably.
“I thank you all”, said Zeus. “Does anyone else have questions?”
A Nymphe stood up. “Who will fight?”, she wanted to know.
A stupid question, Athena thought.
Afer all, the answer was obvious.
“Anyone, who is willing and able to.”

@uppermoonkoku -
The demon was in the kitchen helping his eldest brother bake a cake and make some more almond milk. But, a sound catches Ko's attention and he heads outside.
What he didn't expect was to see Hades, who was on the ground grumbling.
The demon notices a skid mark in the dirt and suspects the other had crash landed.
"Are you ok?"
Tumblr media
Not his most.. graceful landing. Sadly, with large wings came a severe lack of control and stopping power. Let alone landing. And well, this was a prime example of that speed, and the power being a detriment.
Landing.
A tree was cleaved in two, the Time Demon's body was torn asunder, the crater left behind in the dirt from the impact was... terrifying.
Even so, Hades shakily pulled himself up, his jaw snapping into place as flesh rapidly mended and limbs either regrew or re-attached.
"Fine! I'm fine!" He grumbled, his shoulder popping back into place after he ripped a branch out of it.
Tumblr media
"Not my most glamorous landing.. but a landing none the less!" One that could have killed any human if they were even hit by the flying demon. Even so, the last pieces on him to heal with his wings, which now lay neatly folded against his back.
"I was testing my speed, and.. admittedly.. tried a quick stop but.. well.." He looked to the trunk of the tree that was partially uprooted, and the demolished rest of it that lay scattered over the ground. He.. winced at that.
"Ah.. so that's what I hit.. a tree. Ow.."

Lucifer Morningstar x Hades Daughter! Reader
Percy Jackson AU x Lucifer AU crossover
Summary: The Goddess of Pain and Suffering herself is trapped in a world that is not hers. She’s in a world of one god. What type of trouble will she get into when she meets Lucifer.
Warnings: Mentions of sex, Mentions of alcohol (not a lot)
Tumblr media
❤🖤❤
I woke up in an ally of some kind stuck in a trash can. The ally was dark, and it had a sense of depressing energy around it. Old homeless people and cats were scattered around the ally. I don’t remember how I got here, but I remember my name. I am Y/N, daughter of Hades, and the goddess of Pain and Suffering.
I try to get out of the trash can, but the struggle was too much. I ended up falling out of the trash can, taking it down with me in the fall. I stand up, letting out an aggravated sigh. I look down, and I see my beautiful dress ruined by pieces of trash and mysterious stains.
Tumblr media
(What you looked like when you woke up) (Not my drawing)
I look back up to see an old homeless man in front of me. His hand was slowly moving towards something on my shoulder. I slowly turn my head to the old man’s hand that was now on my shoulder. He picked up a banana peel and started to eat it. My face cringes at the man before I snap.
“Keep your filthy hands off of me!” I yelled at the man. “If you or any of you dare to even look my way, let alone touch me, I will burn happily burn you to a crisp in a special chamber in the Underworld,” I continued, getting the attention of the other homeless people around me.
I huffed, walking away. I flick my wrist as I walk out of the ally. A wave of fire devours me, changing my dress.
Tumblr media
"(Your new look) (Not my image)
I left the ally to hear loud music coming from a building I believed was called LUX. At least that's what the sign said. I walked towards the building, and I saw a long line wrap around a corner of the building.
I continued to walk towards the door. Behind me, all I could hear were words like "Did that bitch just cut us" and "Hey! There's a line for a reason". I ignore them and continue walking. I get to the door, and I'm stopped by a guard. The guard was buff, and he had shades on. (Who wears shades at night?)
He put his arm in front of me, and said, "Ma'am, you need to wait in line like everyone else."
I turned to the man with a blank stare. I simply put my pointer and middle finger on the man's forehead, causing him to fall down screaming from the excruciating headache I gave him. Everyone in line took a step back as their facial expression changed from mad to scared. I even saw some people cling to others.
I continued to walk into the well-lit building. I walked down the sleek and narrow marble staircase. As soon as I hit the main floor, a swarm of men made their way in my direction. I ignored them and pushed my way through the crowd of swooning men.
"Gentlemen, I think it's best if you give the lovely lady some space," an unfamiliar British voice came behind me.
Lucifer's POV
I was simply having a drink with Maze when I noticed her gaze shift from me to the door. I followed Maze's gaze to see a beautiful woman. The way she was dressed told me she wasn't from here. She carried a blank face but a mighty attitude. I knew by the way she was looking around, she was lost, and LUX was probably not the place she was hoping for.
She descended from the clubs' staircase. Men turned their heads to look at the woman as if she was a god... as if she was me with the ladies. I'm not gonna lie (I never lie), but she is probably one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen.
"I need a shot, Maze," I said, not looking at the demon. I could practically imagine the eye roll she was giving me.
"Please tell me you're not gonna make that lost girl your new plaything?" Maze asked, sliding me my shot. I quickly grab the shot glass, and I swallow all the liquid.
"We'll see, Mazikeen," I told the demon, walking towards the girl.
A crowd of men hoarded around the woman. She just casually walked past them and allowed them to keep following. "Gentlemen, I think it's best if you give the lovely lady some space," I said, getting the attention of the girl.
Y/N's POV
I turned towards the voice to see a well-suited man. He was very handsome. Oh, I can have fun with this one. I smirk, thinking of the things I would do to the attractive man. He held the same smirk I did on his face.
The men around me soon dispersed. I walked towards the man, continuing to hold the smirk on my face. "Thank the gods. I thought they'd never leave," I told the man. The man was slightly confused but just as quick as it changed, his face bounces right on back to that smirk.
"Perhaps I could get you a drink, and you can tell me why an astonishing woman, such as yourself, is walking around L.A. this late at night by yourself," the man said, leading me to the bar.
An Hour Later
"So, you're telling me, you are the daughter of Hades and the goddess of Pain and Misery? You have no idea how you got to this place. And you only come up from the "Underworld" once a year?" the man I learned is named Lucifer asked me. I nod my head at all his answers. "Wooooow! I don't know where you came from, love, but wow. I've never met a Greek Goddess before. How's the sex?" he continued.
"Well, Lucifer Morningstar," I drag out his name. "The sex is the best. I only go for people who are willing to add a little Pain to their life. I don't want to hurt people unless I have to. Speaking of which, we're kinda the same, you and I," Lucifer thinks about what I said. "Think about it. You and I are forced to live in the "Underworld", our dads are both gods, and we're both stylish and sexy," I continued.
"Well darling, I believe you're right, especially with the stylish and sexy-" Lucifer is interrupted by a LUX worker.
"Mr. Morningstar? A group of women over there are requesting a song... on the piano," The man said before leaving.
Lucifer went to get up, but before he could walk away, I grabbed his arm. "I know a couple of songs from my Earth. Maybe we have the same songs, but different religion," Lucifer doesn't seem sure. "Come on! I'm known to carry a tune where I come from," I give Lucifer a begging smile.
"Oh, Okay! What the Hell!" Lucifer said before pulling me to the piano. We sit down at the piano, and we test it out before starting.
Thought I found a way Thought I found a way out (found) But you never go away (never go away) So I guess I gotta stay now
Oh, I hope some day I'll make it out of here Even if it takes all night or a hundred years Need a place to hide, but I can't find one near Wanna feel alive, outside I can't fight my fear
Isn't it lovely, all alone Heart made of glass, my mind of stone Tear me to pieces, skin to bone Hello, welcome home
Lucifer and I exchange glances before continuing to play.
Walkin' out of town Lookin' for a better place (lookin' for a better place) Something's on my mind (mind) Always in my head space
But I know some day I'll make it out of here Even if it takes all night or a hundred years Need a place to hide, but I can't find one near Wanna feel alive, outside I can't fight my fear
Isn't it lovely, all alone Heart made of glass, my mind of stone Tear me to pieces, skin to bone Hello, welcome home
Whoa, yeah Yeah, ah Whoa, whoa Hello, welcome home
"See? What did I tell you? We know a couple of the same so-" Lucifer cuts me off with a deep passionate kiss. Everyone around us could see. Some even took photos.
My hands roamed his body. They soon got high enough for me to pull the hairs on the back of his neck. After a couple of minutes, Lucifer backs out of the kiss, out of breath.
He takes a minute before saying, "Lets take this up to the penthouse." I bite my lip and give a "mmm hmm".
3 Hours Later
"I didn't know it possible to that many bad things in *checks his watch* 3 hours! That was worse than the punishments in Hell... I loved it!" Lucifer rants as he rolls off of me. I give him a devilish smirk.
"I know more things we can do," I say pulling the cover higher, so it completely covers me.
"You know-" Lucifer stutters. "I don't know who you are or where you came from, but you made me sore. You deserve a reward. Do you want to take my place in Hell? Nevermind, that would be a reward." For the first time ever, Lucifer, the devil didn't know what the correct thing to say was.
"What can I say? I love pain. Besides, I learned a lot when I snuck away from Camp Half-Blood for a week. The world is a cruel cruel world, and I love it. I finally got to do something without my father breathing down my neck. Like, I'm over 30,000 years old dad... relax," I roll my eyes.
Lucifer mumbles "I feel you" as he turns to hear more. "You can continue, Love. I want to hear about this Hades and Camp Half-Blood."
Y/N gives Lucifer a slight smirk before going on. "The week before my first day at Camp Half-blood was a nightmare..."

Hello, I really like your work! and i would like to know if you can make yandere killua and yandere illumi fighting each other for the reader. The reader is a friend of Killua and is the same age as him, 18 years old.
Alright! This might be a bit iffy in parts because I never write actual confrontations, but I hope it's enjoyable! I couldn't really slip in some real yandere behavior, so I kinda implied it to keep things short lol.
Killua'd known you for a while now, about two years, from the age of 16 to now, his eighteenth birthday, and he liked you quite a bit. Because of this, the silver-haired man had begun to keep an even stricter eye on you than he had in the past. That's why you were tagging along to Killua's family home with him and Gon to let his family celebrate so that he could keep you safe and close. Besides, he'd rather you met Illumi under his watch than on the roads and by complete chance. So, Alluka was safely in a secure hotel room and you were walking up to the gates to Hades with him and Gon. "You sure you can't just do this over the phone?" You asked, your (e/c) eyes swimming with concern for him, it made his stomach flutter with butterflies. "Nah, my mom would have a fit if I didn't come home for my eighteenth birthday. But, if they try to introduce me to a 'nice girl', we run." That made you and Gon both giggle, but nod. Despite it being silly, the three of you knew it was highly likely. It would be too much to ask that Illumi and Milluki be the favored ones. Killua thought bitterly as he spotted the gates to Hades up ahead, but no. He and Illumi were something akin to the favorites out of his five siblings, the most 'loved' was Killua, he was the heir, so of course he was expected to breed and carry on the line, but Illumi was the eldest, so he too was expected to find a wife and have children. It was an awful fate that some part of Killua, deep down, felt sorry for his brother over, but it was a small portion.
With a firm shake of his head, Killua shooed the thoughts away and huffed at the doors that he now stood in front of, "We'll do our best to get out quickly," Gon chirped, giving the white-haired assassin a confident smile, which he returned, "Yeah! Real quick," he confirmed, before leading them to the testing gates and easily opening them all. "Y'know (y/n), each of those doors is supposed to be 2 tons each? and each bigger one is twice the weight of the corresponding one!" Gon boasted, bringing an astounded look to your face, "Holy shit, really?! Isn't that...128 tons though?" Gon nodded "Yep! Killua can open them all," he boasted, beaming with pride in his friend, ignoring the pink-cheeked glare Killua threw his way as they walked onto the mountain.
As to be expected, the Zoldycks had sent Gotoh, their head butler, with a car, so the trio was spared the miles of walking it took to get to the actual main house. So, instead, they spent the ride talking and joking, which helped to combat the knot of dread in Killua's stomach. Something just told him that this visit wasn't going to end well, but he couldn't say why he felt that way. When he got inside the manor, he got his answer.
It wasn't that he and Illumi were still on bad terms, he'd tentatively begun to mend fences with his eldest brother at sixteen after years of blubbering and pestering from his mother, but the way Illumi's soulless eyes locked onto you when he spotted you did not sit well with the silver-haired Zoldyck. However, his mother tackled him before he could stop his brother from approaching you and striking up a conversation. The only comfort he got was in knowing you were talking to him almost solely out of the need to be polite, you'd been warned enough about the manipulative snake to know to be wary. "you've grown so much! I barely recognize you anymore," Kikyo half squealed and half chided as if Killua could help himself growing to be Illumi's height, maybe a bit more, but the man just rolled his icy blue eyes, staying quiet to avoid his mother shrieking at him about how she was a good mother who loved him or something.
After his mother was done fussing at him, Killua returned to you, sticking close to you and Gon so he didn't lose his cool, doing so would only lengthen how long they'd have to stay. However, he also came over to interrupt Illumi's conversation with you, "Hey, (y/n), ya doing okay?" he asked, not bothering to hide his concern about his brother, which got him a pointed look from said brother, "Oh, yeah, just been chatting with your brother." you hummed, and while he could tell you were still wary, it was far less rigid as it was before. Of fucking course he'd do this bullcrap he thought, scanning over you to ensure his older sibling hadn't stuck you with a needle. Thankfully he hadn't, so that meant Illumi'd just charmed you. Disgusting.
Nonetheless, he bit back the urge to grab you and run and instead just talked to you and slowly led you away from Illumi. After that, things mellowed out for Killua and the day wasn't as much of a nightmare as he'd thought it would be, though that was mostly because he hung out with Gon and you more than his family. That wasn't to say he wasn't polite to his siblings, especially Kalluto, and nice to his parents, but he kept a distance from them. He especially kept a distance from Illumi, and he made sure you did the same so that the assassin couldn't put a needle in you or charm you anymore. However, Illumi approached him around evening, when you'd been drug off by Kikyo to 'have a chat' aka be interrogated for knowing her son so well. "I know why you avoid me nowadays," Illumi hummed in his usual bored, almost-sleepy voice as he watched the tv and acted as if he didn't notice his younger brother's evil look. "but what bugs me right now, is you keeping (y/n) away from me. You know that I need a partner, your friend is a viable option, you're just being rude to stop me from at least trying to date her." He continued, and Killua could almost taste the annoyance in his deadpan brother's aura, but all it did was put a spark of malicious joy in his soul. "First, my friends shouldn't be options for you, second, quit fucking talking about them like they're a piece of meat. (y/n) is a fucking human, not a damned broodmare for you." he pointed out in as cool of a tone as he could manage, both so no malice slips into his aura and affects Gon, who was next to him, and to further annoy Illumi. "Is it because you have a crush on her? No offense, Kill, but that won't stop me from making a move if she's available. they're very cute, and I wouldn't mind having her for myself." the dead-eyed man said coldly, staring down at the younger man.
For a moment or two after that, Killua and Illumi gave each other lethal looks, having a silent argument that was so palpable that Gon finally got up and moved, knowing better than to try and intervene or help his friend with family spats. It turned out the dark haired boy had the right idea, because almost as soon as he'd gotten up, the two went at each other like a pair of hostile dogs.
Killua was swiftly thrown to the ground by his older brother, but since he was no longer twelve, Killua's punch in response did actual damage instead of being ignored. Though he still stood no chance against him, Killua did his best to punch, kick, and bite his brother, managing to roll him over and slam his head into the floor before he retaliated with a punch to the throat. Meanwhile, Gon, Milluki, and the other siblings watched and cheered, either for Illumi or killua, encouraging them or throwing out advice for how to win the fight until Silva and Zeno finally came in and pried the two brothers apart. They ended up having to hold the two apart, because as soon as they were on their feet, Killua kicked his brother in the stomach and was nearly yanked off his feet as a result. "That is enough." Silva snapped, his voice not loud, but still firm enough to clear the wrathful red from Killua's eyes a bit and stop him from initiating another fist fight. "You two are now adults, having squabbles like this is unacceptable." he scolded, the brothers deflating in shame as they were finally released and further chewed out.
Finally, they were returned back to the social setting, and Killua was forced to put on a happy face for the rest of the night. He would've stayed pissed, maybe even attack Illumi a fifth time, but you were there, and he didn't want to worry you with the story. However, through dinner and the onslaught of gifts you and Gon helped him carry out, whenever you weren't looking or he was alone, Zeno and Silva once again would have to stop them from coming to blows before Killua finally left to go to a hotel for the night despite his mother offering his old room.

– God of light, prophecy, inspiration, poetry, the sun, music and arts, medicine and healing
Aelin tried to convince herself that she got up and got ready two hours early for class because of her busy schedule. She kept telling herself it was for the meeting she had with her advisor, about a possible internship at the end of the semester.
She knew that both reasons, while extremely important, were full of shit. She knew she’d showered, blow dried and curled her hair for Rowan. It wasn’t that she was trying to impress him. She’d already done that and the chance she had to be with him had come and gone.
No, now it was about proving to him that even though this class may be a gen ed, she was taking it seriously.
Dropping the class had crossed her mind. She really didn’t need to take it, she could still find a different one to pick up. But she didn’t want to think about the sort of impression it would leave about her.
If there was anything to know about Aelin Galathynius, it was that she was not a quitter, nor did she run from her problems.
Or heartaches.
With one last look in the mirror, and a whistle from Lysandra, Aelin was out the door and hurrying across campus. She grabbed a coffee on the way, but avoided her usual place, knowing full well that Rowan enjoyed the same famous cafe that she did.
He wasn’t there yet when she got to the hall, but she took the same seat she had the class before.
She wondered if Rowan would be looking for her this time.
She quickly shook the thought away.
With her hot coffee on the corner of her fold up desk, she was pulling out her notebook and a pen, waiting anxiously for class to begin.
For him to walk through the door.
Apparently he liked to be right on the dot, though, because students continued to wander in, but he did not.
She was tapping her pen against her notebook, doing her best not to stare at the clock. She was just anxious for her day to start. It wasn’t that she wanted to see Rowan.
Professor Whitethorn, she amended in her head. She had to quit thinking of him as Rowan. She couldn’t think of him like that anymore, his body pressing into hers, lips on her neck, as he—
Shaking her head, Aelin sighed and suddenly realized that the rest of the class had hushed. She was so focused on reprimanding herself for her highly inappropriate thoughts that she hadn’t noticed him come through the door and begin setting up for class. When she dared to glance towards the front, she found his eyes on her. He quickly looked away, going back to his laptop and setting up the PowerPoint on screen.
Maybe he hadn’t been looking at her.
Maybe it had all been in her mind.
But she didn’t think it had been.
He had been watching her.
“Happy Thursday, class,” he began, as the title page of his presentation flashed onto the board. “Glad to see you all showed up again. Must mean my first class didn’t suck.” Quiet laughter thrummed through the room. Aelin couldn’t muster a laugh, though. “On Tuesday, we covered the basics. So, today… Sorry, we’re doing that again.”
More laughter, especially from the pretty, flirty girls up front.
Aelin couldn’t help but roll her eyes.
Which, when she settled her eyes back on Rowan, he definitely saw.
Come on, get your shit together, she chastised herself. With her back straightened, she gave him her full attention.
She took dutiful notes, but his slides didn’t hold much in the way of information. They were mostly headers, with a few bullet points. Most of the important information, information she knew would be critical for homework or exams, came straight from Rowan’s mouth.
It was clear that he loved mythology, that it wasn’t just a class his aunt had tossed his way and told him to figure it out. He was a trove of knowledge and she noticed he had a habit of going on slight tangents when he got going on a topic he was clearly interested in.
After a student asked him to clarify what he meant about Hercules not being Zeus’ only son, he ended up talking for nearly twenty minutes about what the beloved Disney movie had gotten wrong. Aelin had stopped taking notes and was watching him go on and on about how Hades, while god of the underworld, was not necessarily a villain. He just had a job to do. A job that had rules that must be followed, or the consequences could damn not only him, but others involved. His eyes found hers again and the amused smile on her face fell as she made the correlation between their own situation and the story.
They held each other’s gazes for far longer than was appropriate, and Rowan cleared his throat, going back to the PowerPoint, and the  predetermined lesson plans he’d made, which didn’t include children’s movie breakdowns.
She watched him.
She listened.
And she found it all fascinating.
Rowan peeked at the clock after going on and on, and stilled, rubbing the back of his neck. “Well, I guess I’ll end there. There is an assignment due by tomorrow evening. You can find and submit it online. It’s an opinion piece. I want a little insight as to why you were so interested to take this class, or what you’ve found fascinating so far.” He sat on his desk, his legs hanging over the side, his feet nearly touching the ground as he leaned back on his palms. Aelin found it charming. “You’re going to write a short essay telling me of your favorite deity. It could be one I’ve talked about so far, or one I haven’t. It’s your choice. But, tell me why they are your favorite. Give me a little depth. And, remember, this is a college course. Grammar counts.”
The clock struck nine-thirty and everyone began packing up. Aelin had been so captivated by his voice that she had to snap herself back to reality.
She quickly packed up her bag, alongside the other students around her. She noticed then how young they all were, and she was willing to bet that she may be the only senior on the roster. As she was descending the stairs, she found Rowan’s eyes on her again, but he looked away as his attention was taken, thanks to the group of girls who’d been sitting in the front row. She heard vague questions of whether they could all write about Aphrodite, since they all related to her.
The scoff Aelin thought she’d kept to herself had apparently been out loud, since not only Rowan looked at her as she passed, but so did the three girls. With his attention on her again, she decided to give him a little wave.
“See you later, Professor Whitethorn.”
If there was some extra sway to her hips, it wasn’t on purpose.
At least that’s what she told herself.
Two and a half hours later, Aelin was starving. She’d just gotten out of an extremely complicated lab and she could barely focus over the growling of her stomach. Twice, the instructor had looked over at her, half expecting to find a dog stashed under the table she was working at.
So when the class let out, she was hurrying toward the cafeteria ready to get a salad from the salad bar and a big ass slice of pizza.
It was all about balance.
As she was waiting in line to fill her plate with salad, she heard a voice behind her.
“Are you actually getting lettuce or just filling your plate with ham, cheese, and croutons?”
Aelin looked over her shoulder to find Chaol, her ex, suppressing a smile.
Aelin chuckled. “If it’s the same price, you may as well pile up on the good stuff.”
Chaol gave her a small smile. “Fair enough. It’s good to see you, Aelin. You look good.”
Things hadn’t ended the best between her and Chaol, but that had been just after freshman year. At least now when they ran into one another, they could have nice little conversations like this one.
No hard feelings.
“You too,” she said, and he did. He’d been in an accident the year before. They weren’t sure he was going to walk again. In all honesty, it was just good to see him on his feet.
“How long until your class?” He asked, sliding his tray along behind hers.
She glanced down at her watch. “About forty five minutes. You?”
“This is my long break,” he sighed. “I’ve got an hour and a half, but didn’t feel like leaving campus. Want to have lunch with me?”
“Sure.” Her smile wasn’t forced, it was easy and she was glad they could even do this, when three years again, they could barely be in the same room.
“I assume you’re getting a piece of pizza after this,” Chaol said with a smirk, nodding towards her plate. “So I’ll grab us a table while you get the rest of your lunch.”
She scoffed but nodded, and went off to get a slice of pizza. When she ordered her pizza, she also got a slice of cheesecake. It was his favorite, something she hadn’t forgotten, but it didn’t hurt that she liked it, too.
Finding him in the cafeteria, she sat down at the table across from him. “How’s Yrene doing?”
He blushed, and Aelin had to admit it was adorable. After his accident, he’d fallen for his physical therapist, and she was just as smitten with him. It must have been all the one-on-one sessions, because Chaol had never been one to let someone in. Aelin had met Yrene early in her med classes, but Yrene had specialized in PT and graduated in less than three years, taking as many classes as she could manage and even studying through the summers as well.
“It’s going good,” he said, at last. “We, uh, just moved in together, actually.”
Aelin lifted a brow. “That was fast.”
Chaol shot her a look.
Aelin laughed. “I didn’t mean it like that. I meant, good for you. I like Yrene. A lot. You two are good together.”
Chaol cleared his throat before taking a bite of his salad. “Thanks.”
Aelin chuckled, taking a bite of her pizza.
Chaol blinked. “What?”
“You get so uncomfortable when it comes to feelings,” she said. “Always have.”
His eyes narrowed at her. “That’s not true.”
Aelin stopped mid-chew and raised a brow.
Even Chaol couldn’t help but chuckle at the expression. “Yeah, yeah. Whatever. What about you? Seeing anyone?”
Aelin hesitated, then said, “No.”
A slow grin appeared on Chaol’s mouth. “Didn’t sound so sure about what one.”
Aelin shrugged. “Better be nice or I’m not sharing this magnificent cheesecake with you.”
Holding up his hands in placation, Chaol went back to his salad. Rowan was a dangerous topic, one she wouldn’t share with anyone but Lysandra, so she summed it up quickly. “Met someone I thought I hit it off with. Turns out we didn’t work.”
He slowly nodded. Aelin knew he’d had a couple failed relationships between her and Yrene. “I get it, I’m sorry. Still sucks.”
Shrugging again, she turned to her salad. “It happens. Not a big deal. So if you’re living with Yrene, does that mean you and Dorian broke up? Or is he playing house with you, too?”
Chaol leveled her with a look. Chaol and Dorian had been best friends long before they came to the University of Orynth. They were both from Adarlan, both trying to get away from overbearing fathers, and decided college across the country was the way to do it. They’d been roommates every year and Aelin couldn’t even imagine Chaol living with anyone except Dorian. But now he was. “He moved into an apartment with Manon this semester when I moved in with Yrene.”
Aelin blinked. “Blackbeak? He moved in with Manon Blackbeak?”
Nodding, Chaol went on. “Apparently, they’ve been dating for about a year, without anyone noticing.”
Something in the way he said it told Aelin that he had noticed, but when Dorian had his mind set on something, there was no stopping him. And apparently, he’d decided to date one of the most terrifying women on campus.
Aelin’s response was eloquent. “Wow.”
Chaol grinned. “I like it when you’re caught off guard. It’s satisfying.”
With a scoffed she nudged his leg with the toe of her sneaker. “Well, I don’t. Dorian will be getting a very angry phone call this afternoon.”
“I’ll be sure to give him a warning,” Chaol promised.
Aelin chuckled, taking the last bite of her pizza. “It’s good to see you all happy, though. Really.”
Chaol’s eyes softened. “Thanks, Aelin.”
She nodded. “Even if I am terrified that Dorian will get eaten alive.”
Chaol laughed, and she had forgotten how nice Chaol’s rare, hearty laugh was.
She meant it. She was so happy for them, both of them. It was interesting how things changed over the course of a few short years.
Their conversation continued, as did the laughs, and before she knew it, Aelin glanced down at her watch. She had less than fifteen minutes to haul ass back to the nursing building for her next class. Chaol, who had much longer to sit with nothing to do, assured her that he could handle her trash and told her to get to class. With a hug, and a promise that they’d have dinner soon, all of them, even Manon, Aelin was hurrying out of the cafeteria building.
Somehow, the entire time she’d been having lunch with Chaol, she hadn’t noticed the set of pine green eyes watching her.
Rowan’s own break had been at the same time as hers, but the gen ed building was much closer than wherever she was having to run off to, so he had longer to sit and— there was no denying it— brood. They were halfway across the room, so he couldn’t hear any of their conversation. He had no clue who the tall man was she smiled at so often, but clearly they were very familiar with each other with how easily they talked. And he made her laugh. A lot.
Rowan wasn’t sure why that was what grated on his nerves the most, but it unsettled him.
Seeing Aelin with someone else, someone clearly her own age, it all unsettled him. He didn’t like it. Almost as much as her parting words in class had.
See you later, Professor Whitethorn.
It’s like she was mocking him, yet at the same time, she clearly wasn’t. She was doing exactly as he’d asked of her, seeing him as her professor, not as her boyfriend.
No, he reprimanded himself. Not boyfriend. Hookup.
They’d had sex one time, that didn’t give either of them any claim over the other. It was a hookup and nothing more. And she was his gods-damned student.
She was off limits, in every way possible.
Yet he couldn’t figure out why seeing her with someone else, someone she should clearly be interested in instead of him, had him seeing red.

Hypnos/Zagreus, unrequited Thanatos/Zagreus
Warnings:just some kissing and alcohol uses. No beta at all.
Hypnos just wanted to be a good brother.
A/N: This is an au but it will run pretty close along the game, just with some differences.been wanting to write for this pairing for a while but wasn't sure I could get it right. Still don't, to be honest. Oh well hope you enjoy it.
The rumor mill was alive and well, even the underworld.
But this was a new one. And not one that Hypnos really believed.
Hypnos wasn't sure what to say when he heard that Zagreus had politely but firmly rejected Thanatos.
No one had told him really what happened, every worker shade Hypnos asked, he got a different answer.
A mistake surely. Even if Zagreus had rejected Thanatos, maybe he meant as a 'Not right now' while he worked though some family issues. And darkness knows with Hades as a father, there were issues.
Hypnos tapped his quill on his ledger, trying to listen to the shade that was telling him it was a bull shark, not a tiger shark that ate him and it was a common mistake really.
"Okay, just let me cross this out." Hypnos said, not really remembering what the shade told him. He just wrote tiger with a question mark.
His eyes kept going to the pool of Styx, waiting for Zagreus to come out. It took an hour before Hypnos just gave up. He made excuses as he quickly floated to his mother.
"Mom, have you heard?" Hypnos said quietly. He went to touch one of her flowers to fidget with something but she batted his hand away. She had gotten very fond of her purple flowers, and even taken up to watering them.
Hypnos wasn't entirely unconvinced that she didn't talk to them when no one else was around.
"Have I heard of what, my child?" Nyx asked. Her eyes watched him carefully, never leaving his face.
"About Zagreus and Thanatos. I've overheard some stuff." Hypnos leaned forward to whisper, "I doubt it is true but I haven't seen either of them."
Nyx sighed, and gave him a very pointed look. "It would be best not to bother them. This is a very personal matter, my child."
Hypnos crossed his arms, not liking the look she gave him. "I just wanted to know if you knew if Thanatos was okay since he isn't talking to me right now. I mean everyone but Zagreus seemed to know how Thanatos feels about him."
"I haven't heard anything, but even if I did this would be a matter best left alone."
Hypnos pouted, "Boo, you're no fun."
She shooed him away, a slight smile on her face. "Now go back to your work, and I will see you later."
Hypnos waved goodbye, a new plan on his mind already.
💤
It wasn't often that Hypnos traveled the underworld itself. Only when he knew Charon could see him for a chat and maybe buy something.
Thankfully for him, Zagreus left a breadcrumb trail of ruin, upset shades and broken urns everywhere.
Elysium was just as beautiful as Hypnos remembered. The lushness of it made him think of his cave with the soft as a cloud grass and poppies everywhere.
Darkness, he missed his cave. And having Thanatos closer and actually being friends with his own twin.
There was a lot he missed.
However, he didn't missed the sound of Zagreus's screams of rage. He drifted into the field and he ducked when an arrow went sailing past his head.
Zagreus in battle reminded Hypnos of the storms of old, more powerful than gods yet desperate with how little time they had left. Beautiful yet terrible.
Zagreus' sword swung down on an unlucky shade and shattered it. Zagreus stumbled backward, panting and sweating. His mismatched eyes darted around, looking for the next fighter.
Zagreus didn't see the two shades behind him, with their spear at ready. Hypnos bit his cheek for a moment, he didn't want to take the spotlight from Zagreus but he already made the trip and it would be a shame if Hypnos didn't even get to talk to Zagreus.
With a snap of his fingers, Hypnos casted a sleep spell over the shades. Zagreus whirled around, surprise on his face at the sleeping shades. After a moment, they melted away without ever waking up.
"Wow." Hypnos dragged out the word and grinned when Zagreus saw him for the first time. His mismatched eyes blinked, not quite believing what he was seeing. "Just some advice, always check behind you."
For a moment, Hypnos thought he saw a flash of hurt before Zagreus' face hardened. This was new, Hypnos mused but so was his presence.
"Hypnos, has Father sent you?" Zagreus asked quietly, his fingers curled tightly on the helt of his sword.
"Oooh, no. I came on my own will, Zagreus." Hypnos waved his hand. Zagreus didn't relax, his eyes still on Hypnos.
Hypnos rolled his eyes, "I just wanted to talk, really."
Zagreus held his battle stance for another moment, his eyes studying Hypnos' face. Then he relaxed, his lips twitched into a small, tired smile and his sword rested against him. Hypnos sighed, while this wasn't the happy, polite Zagreus he knew; this was better than the battle one he just met
"Hypnos, what could be so important you need to come out here to talk to me?" Zagreus froze, "Is everything alright at the house?"
"Yes, yes everyone is fine." Hypnos held his hands up, "I would have been waiting at the house but lately you've been taking too long to die."
Zagreus scoffed, "Excuse me?"
Hypnos wagged a finger, "You used to come back so quickly, but not anymore! Now I've to go forever without seeing your pretty little face, it's so cruel Zagreus." Hypnos joked.
He didn't see the faint blush on Zagreus' cheeks. "Haha, very funny. Alright, Hypnos what can I do for you?"
Hypnos smiled nervously,"I heard a rumour. Of course, I doubt it's true. But just in case, I heard that Thanatos had… talked with you." Hypnos hoped that Zagreus would get the meaning without Hypnos saying that his twin had hit on Zagreus.
The guilty look on Zagreus' face told Hypnos everything.
"Oh. So it is true." Hypnos said. "I mean you don't mean like forever though right?"
Zagreus ran his hand through his hair, his eyes not willing to meet Hypnos' and for some reason, it made Hypnos think of a little boy who did something he was told not to do.
"Really, I thought-" Hypnos spoke but the sharp look from Zagreus cut him off.
"Yeah, so did everyone else. Everyone but me." Zagreus snapped.
"I didn't… I just…" Zagreus struggled to find the words. "I just can't, not for Thanatos, not like that."
Hypnos didn't know what to say. So he didn't say anything. For once in his life he didn't have a smartass reply.
"I'm sorry." Hypnos said finally, "I didn't realize we put this pressure on you. You know you don't have anything to feel guilty about, right?"
Zagreus shrugged, "Is this the only reason you came out?" His toes curled in the grass, leaving burn marks there. Hypnos crocked a brow, he hadn't seen Zagreus do that since they were children.
"I think I just wanted to make sure everyone was okay. I mean I know Thanatos doesn't want to talk to me anymore but I wanted to make sure he and you, of course, were alright. I just happened to find you first."
"Oh." Zagreus said softly. Almost sadly.
Hypnos frowned, he hated when he knew there was something he was missing and he didn't know what to ask or do to get the missing piece.
"You're a good brother, Hypnos." Zagreus said, trying to sound like himself again. He glanced at the chamber's door, Charon's bag gleamed in the glass. "I have to get back to this but I will let Thanatos know you were looking for him if he even shows up..."
After a moment of just studying Zagreus, Hypnos spoke. "Alrighty, but just one more piece of advice."
Zagreus turned back to look at Hypnos, his brows raised.
"I would suggest trying not to die. Crazy, I know." Hypnos said, not able to stop his lips twitching in amusement.
Zagreus laughed,"Oh fantastic advice, like always." He smiled, a real smile and not the tired, sad one he seems to always have lately. "Even if it means you will have to suffer without seeing my pretty face?"
Hypnos places his chest on his chest in mock agony. "Anything for your happiness, Zagreus."
He grinned at Zagreus' laugh. It has been while he heard Zagreus express some else behide urgency or anger.
"Oh, and here." Hypnos tossed Zagreus a small bag who caught it easily with one hand. The obels rustled noisily and Zagreus stared down at the bag.
"Are you sure? Three hundred is a lot of obels." Zagreus blinked, his face unreadable to Hypnos.
Hypnos waved the question away, "Think of this as a bonus of dealing with me taking up your time."
He yawned loudly, "I've better get back before your father notices I am missing. Good luck!"
And with a wave that Zagreus returned, Hypnos vanished.
💤
Of course, Hades noticed the exact second Hypnos abandoned his job.
After much yelling and banging his fist on the desk, Hades freed Hypnos.
He made his own escape quickly. When Hades got like this, It was best to stay out of sight until he got angry with something else.
Hypnos realized that he had missed Zagreus' return amist Hades' raging. He felt a pang of disappointment but shrugged it off. It's not like Zagreus won't be doing another attempt soon after he had some time to lick his wounded pride.
With a sigh, Hypnos returned to his much hated duty and waved forward the next shade.
💤
It was during Hypnos' napping that Thanatos finally showed up.
Hypnos tugged his sleep mask up, "Thanatos! I haven't seen you in forever. Or weeks since the whole you know what." He beamed until he saw how cold Thanatos looked at Hypnos.
"Is everything alright? I mean I heard what happened. I think everyone did. Um, forget I said that. I tried to find you but couldn't and mom wouldn't tell me where you were-" Hypnos rambled nervously.
Thanatos closed his eyes and took a deep breath. Like Hypnos was an annoyance that he wished he could be rid of. Which hurt but Hypnos would move past the hurt if it meant he could talk to his twin again.
"I need to talk to you. Alone." Thanatos said between gritted teeth.
"Are you going to kill me?" Hypnos eyed him. "Because even though you're our mother's favorite, she would be upset with you."
"Hypnos." Thanatos snapped. "Alone. Now."
"Fine! Fine. At the old hangout?" Hypnos asked.
When Thanatos vanished without another word, Hypnos rolled his eyes and murmured "Drama queen." And without even looking at the long line of shades, he followed his brother.
When Hypnos saw his old cave, he sighed happily. The bedchambers at the house were very luxurious and all but he missed this.
Thanatos stood in the middle of the field inside the cave, his arms crossed and his eyes on the river Lethe, the mist that covered the water drifted slowly, hiding the fast undercurrent under it.
Whenever someone tried to drink from the river, Hypnos had to warn them how easy it was for Lethe to pull someone under. And there were quite a few rescues he had to make. Not all of them were successful.
Hypnos floated next to his twin, he tried to decide what to say but settled on waiting for Thanatos to speak.
"Zagreus is getting closer to the surface." Thanatos said quietly, breaking the almost comfortable silence for the first time.
"So, he is." Hypnos agreed. "Once he gets a handle on the damn Satyrs, I don't think anything will be able to stop him."
Hypnos looked at Thanatos as he talked. "Hades had been leaving his desk more often."
Thanatos just nodded, the weight of the unspoken words, of their knowledge, of what hurt that Zagreus will have to face alone weighed on both brothers.
Hypnos stopped floating and stood, they were of equal height and for some reason, Hypnos felt this would be fair for both of them.
"Is this the only reason why you wanted to talk to me? Not anything else, you know like why don't we talk anymore?" Hypnos asked.
"I just don't understand." Thanatos said.
Hypnos tilted his head in confusion. "We all know why he really wants up there, Mom told us, remember? We would do the same in his place."
Thanatos shook his head, "Maybe not all of us. But that isn't what I'm talking about."
For the first time since coming into the cave, Thanatos looked at him. Hypnos was surprised by how sad he looked. There weren't tears but there didn't need to be.
"I don't understand what I don't have but you do." Thanatos said, his mouth twisted.
"Okay, now I don't understand." Hypnos said, "I don't have anything you don't. Unless you count our powers."
Thanatos rolled his eyes, like Hypnos was being dense on purpose. "Haven't Zagreus talked to you?"
"Sure, you mean about your feelings, right? He felt guilty, brother. He really did." Hypnos tapped his fingers against his belt, just to be able to touch something.
Thanatos didn't say anything for a few minutes then he sighed. "So he hasn't then."
"No we did, I found him in Elysium. We talked some." Hypnos watched Thanatos' face carefully, for any hints of what to say.
"Tell me brother, why did you, upon hearing Zagreus rejected me, seek him out?" Thanatos' eyes narrowed at him.
"I was worried! For the both of you. We all thought you guys were it, you know?" Hypnos pushed away the guilt he felt, he had no reasons for it. He never did anything to wreck Thanatos' chances. Not that he would be able to anyway.
"Oh, is that it? Do you really think I would buy that? I saw how your eyes followed him, you know."
Hypnos closed his mouth with a clink of his teeth, and both brothers stared each other down.
Hypnos crossed his arm to match Thanatos. "I have never said or done anything. I knew you cared for him, Thanatos. I wouldn't hurt you like that."
"Not even if Zagreus wanted you?" Thanatos asked.
"It is not really a problem since I can assure you that is not the case." Hypnos said dryly, not happy that Thanatos brought up the impossible.
Thanatos scoffed a laugh at him,"You're an idiot." And he stepped away, not even looking at Hypnos anymore. "I've been away from my job long enough and so have you. Goodbye, Hypnos."
"Hey-" Hypnos reached for his brother but was already gone.
Hypnos gave a shout of resentment, of hurt and kicked the grass. It didn't help the anger so he kicked again and again.
He sat down next to the river, crossed legged and head in his hands.
He loved his brother, really he did but blood and darkness he wanted to shake him sometimes.
💤
When he made it back, Hades wasn't at his desk. Hypnos' heart sank, and he just hoped Zagreus would be able to push through this escape.
Thankfully it wasn't that attempt or the one after that.
It was during Hypnos dealing with two shades, a pair of sisters, arguing over who was at fault for the cart tipping over when Zagreus' name appeared on his ledger. Next to his name, the word Redacted appeared.
Hades did it. The bastard really killed his own son. Hypnos' mouth twisted, anger burned hot in his chest. He would have to play dumb, the less Hades knew what Hypnos and his family knew, the better.
Hypnos looked over the still arguing sisters and noted down, 'killed by inability to communicate with their sibling.'
Hypnos totally wasn't projecting his own issues.
He saw Zagreus step out of the Styx. Even bloodied, Hypnos could see what his brother liked about Zagreus. Zagreus shook off the blood, and Hypnos' eyes unwillingly followed his movements.
Nope, Hypnos tore his eyes away. He didn't see anything, he told himself. Just his brother's crush, he reminded himself. Even if Zagreus didn't return Thanatos' feelings, Hypnos wouldn't do that to his brother.
"Hypnos." Zagreus greeted him and before Hypnos could respond, Zagreus shoved a bottle of nectar in his face. Hypnos grabbed it before he knew what it was and blinked at it.
"Oh for me? You shouldn't have!" Hypnos grinned. He shook the bottle gently, the liquid glittered in the candle light.
"It's my thanks for the gift you gave me before. It was a huge help." Zagreus said softly.
"Anything for you, Zagreus." Hypnos grinned. He could see a sadness that cling to Zagreus, and wondered if he should say something. His chest twisted with how helpless he felt. He wanted to take away the sadness and make sure he never felt it again.
"Do you want to go see my old hangout?" Hypnos said before he could stop himself. Zagreus perked up a little, "The cave, right?"
Hypnos grabbed Zagreus' shoulder and pulled him along for the ride. The sisters are still loudly arguing in front of the line.
💤
It was nice to return a second time. It was much calmer than the house. The house carried a heaviness to it that made it hard to call it home. And Hypnos had no plans for staying forever in that place.
Inside the cave, it was lit only by the numerous candles that floated about and the river Lethe's own light but it was enough to see most of the field inside.
Zagreus immediately began walking around, his eyes drifting from the river to candles to the little poppies dotted the land to the cottonwood that lined the cave's wall. Hypnos just watched him explore.
"This is much more calming than the house." Zagreus said as he turned back to Hypnos. "Why do you stay at the house? This seems much more like you."
Hypnos floated closer to Zagreus, "It was part of the whole deal, me and everyone else had to stay at the house. Or close to it, so Hades could 'keep an eye on us'. Charon is the only exception because he bonded too close to the Styx to stay long."
At his father's name, Zagreus sighed bitterly. "I swear, that old man causes everyone problems and for no good reasons."
"You telling me." Hypnos agreed. Normally he would try to be nicer but the word Redacted flashed into his mind. And an overwhelming sense of anger for Zagreus who just wanted to see his mother again.
"Come on, I know where the comfortable spots are." Hypnos floated toward the river, waving Zagreus along.
He and Zagreus sat close to the river, where the most plush grass grew. It took Zagreus a few minutes to settle, as if he had forgotten what it was like not to move all the time.
Zagreus's fingers dipped into the mist as Hypnos worked the cork out the bottle.
One loud pop later, and the sweet nectar was his. He took a sip from the bottle and hummed. "Thanks. Do you want some?" Hypnos wiggled the bottle, thinking Zagreus would say no like he normally did.
But Zagreus didn't this time. "Sure, thank you." He took the bottle from Hypnos and hummed at the taste.
Hypnos tried not to think about the fact Zagreus' mouth was where he was a moment ago.
Zagreus grimaced as he handed back the bottle, "I forgot how strong those are."
"Lightweight." Hypnos teased, his tone fond and Zagreus shoved at his shoulder with a laugh. He took a big sip and handed it back to Zagreus.
It's not weird if you don't make it weird, Hypnos told himself.
They passed the drink a few more times, until it was close to being empty. "Want the last bit?" Hypnos asked, feeling a slight buzz. Zagreus shook his head, his cheeks were more flushed than Hypnos.
Zagreus looked good like this, flushed and relaxed, and it took all of Hypnos' willpower to pull his eyes away.
Hydnos tossed the now empty bottle next to him and sighed. He bit his cheek, this was probably a mistake but Thanatos' words had been haunting him.
"Have Thanatos checked up on you?" Hypnos tugged at the grass, trying not to think about how close Zagreus was.
Zagreus shrugged, "Not really. He had been helping in some of the fights but he disappeared before I could talk to him."
"He had a weird conversation with me. First time in months that he talked to me and it was about you." Hypnos grumbled.
Zagreus' shoulders tensed up and he wouldn't look at Hypnos. "I have to apologize, Hypnos. I think I might have made it worse between you and Thanatos."
"Zagreus, whatever is going on with Thanatos and me has been going on for a long while. There was nothing you did to cause this rift." Hypnos leaned back on his hands. "I know he cares for you, always has. It was a weird conversation. He sounded like- like… I don't know. I can't explain it."
Zagreus said nothing to that. Hypnos noticed how Zagreus' toes curled into the grass. He almost said something about it but he didn't want Zagreus to get self conscious and stop so he kept his mouth shut.
Zagreus plucked a nearby poppy, full bloom and a vivid red. He spinned between his fingers before he turned to Hypnos who crooked a brow at him. Zagreus very carefully placed the flower on Hypnos' ear and smiled, "That is a good look for you."
Hypnos snorted, "Your highness, I do believe you're a little drunk right now." He grinned at the pout Zagreus gave him.
Zagreus simply plucked another poppy, and placed it in one of Hypnos' curls. His hand stopped and Zagreus lightly stroked his hair.
"Hypnos, would I upset you if I try something?" Zagreus asked softly.
"Probably not, you are already putting flowers in my hair." Hypnos said, alarm bells were going off in his head but he couldn't be bothered to listen.
Zagreus cupped the back of Hypnos' head, fingers buried in his curls and pulled him into a chaste kiss.
Hypnos' heart stopped for a moment and suddenly the talk he had with Thanatos came back in sharp clarity.
But all Hypnos knew at this second was how nectar tasted on Zagreus' lips and how warm the prince of the underworld felt.
Hypnos knew he was going to hate himself for this. But he did it anyway. May the fates and Thanatos forgive him, but Hypnos knew this would be the first and last time.
Hypnos pressed into the kiss, pleased at the soft gasp Zagreus gave and slowly they both deepened the kiss.
Hypnos wrapped an arm around Zagreus' waist and pulled him closer. They broke the kiss for a moment, for breath but Zagreus quickly returned.
Hypnos felt like he was drowning. Between the sweetness of Zagreus's kisses, the shared heat between them and his guilt of doing this, Hypnos was sure he might be going mad.
After somewhere between an eternity and a few minutes, Hypnos pulled away. He and Zagreus stared at each other, lips full and cheeks equally flushed.
Hypnos stared, trying to remember everything of this moment. His heart felt so full but he already could feel the cracks forming.
Zagreus was so beautiful, so unlike anything or anyone else he ever saw. Hypnos loved him for that reason alone.
"Zagreus-" Hypnos' voice cracked, "I can't, you have to understand. I really can't, not to my brother."
Zagreus shushed him, cupped Hypnos' face in his hands. "I know. You're a good brother."
And Zagreus kissed him again. Hypnos went along almost mindlessly.
"If I could, I would." Hypnos murmured against Zagreus' lips.
Zagreus pressed a quick kiss before pulling away. "You can, I'm willing to deal with whatever happens, are you?"
Hypnos hated how much he wanted to bend to Zagreus, to give in. "My brother will never forgive me.* He said weakly.
"He will, he is your brother and he loves you too. He just has a different way of showing it."
Hypnos mutely shook his head and Zagreus sighed.
"I will wait then. However long it will take." Zagreus said decidedly.
"What? Zagreus, no I can't do that to you." Hypnos looked into Zagreus' eyes as he pressed his forehead against Zagreus'. "Listen, I don't know if he and I will ever be friends again and I don't want you to lose out on something because you are waiting around for me to get my stuff together."
"I already decided. You're not the only with stuff left unfinished. I still need to find my mother and deal with my father. Will you wait for me?" Zagreus asked softly.
"Centuries-" Zagreus kissed him but Hypnos kept talking. "Millenniums. Zagreus, I didn't know this was a possibility. I thought you wouldn't even look at me twice."
"I thought you didn't notice me, Hypnos. I thought you just saw me as someone bothering you with how paperwork I must create."
"How could I not notice you, Zagreus? I just couldn't do anything about it." Hypnos said helplessly.
His and Zagreus' eyes meet, and Hypnos' heart shattered. He knew it was decided the moment they kissed, they would have to deal with the consequences of their actions. With his brother, with Zagreus' own family and everything else he couldn't think about right now.
But at least, it would be together.
This time Hypnos pulled Zagreus into a kiss.
All in due time. For now, Hypnos wanted to enjoy this time for as long as he could.
