Sky Stained Diamonds

Another flash fiction Friday attempt ^u^ Last week’s one went totally under the radar. I’m not sure if my tags aren’t working or it just wasn’t people’s cup of tea ^u^;; Regardless, I hope you enjoy this one! Feedback is appreciated!

Prompt: Painted Diamonds

Characters: Atlas

There is a fussiness to creativity. When the desire to create dances with a blank canvas while refusing to take the hand of inspiration like a petulant child, it clings, sticky taffy in your chest. Atlas’ hands twitched to start working, but for the life – or perhaps lives if his eyes had a say in it – of him, he couldn’t think of what he wanted to make. Maybe he ought finish that ring left waiting three months for a polished stone? Or he could bind the canary feathers to that broach, he knew they would pair beautifully with the preserved clover. No. Completion wasn’t what he itched for. He needed something fresh. An idea that grabbed him, that sparked his veins with life. He did not sigh, it was not his nature, but he did stop walking. Jacket settling against his back once more, he hadn’t realised how quickly he was walking, He wasn’t going to get anywhere like this – so in his head that he lost sight of the path. Both figuratively and literally as it were. His feet had taken him to a church. It wasn’t surprising, the land was pocked with them. His cat ears twitched as he grinned. They certainly wouldn’t want him galivanting around in there. That was fine. He didn’t consider himself a particularly holy man. He knew he wasn’t. Still, he could appreciate the artistry of the looming stained-glass windows. A thousand tiny fragments creating a kaleidoscope of flowers and death. Tastefully done of course. He was sure it was a beautiful sight when light shone through the scene. The thought tangled into the taffy, failing to dislodge it.

Atlas carried on. What was he in the mood for? Not this town. It had a quaint sweetness, but his mood desired something else. Something… saltier. Well, he may not have been able to quell his mental cravings, but his stomach was another matter entirely. He knew exactly what he wanted. A glance at his compass and he was off. Like milk swirling through coffee, he dissolved into the air.

Leisurely re-collecting himself, he smelled the ocean before he saw it. Wind ruffled his hair, tickling his hood’s fur trim against his jaw, and lifting him gently before he tapped down onto the ground once more. Cliffside Bay produced the best steamed snapper he’d ever had the pleasure to eat. He wasn’t usually fond of lemon, but he could make an exception. Strolling towards the stall, casually dodging the mid-day market crowd, Atlas made no attempt to dampen his enthusiastic hums. It was lost in the bustle anyhow. The seller greeted him happily. He’d become quite the regular. They’d offered a loyalty discount but he had to refuse. How could he pay anything but full price for a quality product? Make no mistake, he was not in the business of flaunting money. He simply couldn’t discount a person’s effort so easily.

He departed the market, Styrofoam container warming his hand and drool pooling at the scent. When a person becomes a regular, they often frequent a favourite place to complete the indulgence. Atlas’ was the top of an old lighthouse that watched over the ocean from its perch on the cliff. An easy teleport when you can see where you’re going. Atlas sprawled across the metal sheeting, coat protecting his skin from the sun fed bite. He was lucky the dusty red colour didn’t transfer to his clothes. Frustrations aside, today was shaping into a lovely one. Steam filtered out of the freshly cracked takeout lid. This time he did sigh. As perfect as ever. Hardly waiting to peel off his fashionable gloves, he dug in.

Like any good meal, it was over much too soon. Nothing left but bones and a single lemon slice. Licking the residue off his fingers, Atlas mulled over potential ideas. He wanted something that would excite him. Something delicious. He could try something fishbone inspired, but he’d done that so many times already. It went well with his theme. All he needed was one idea. He lazed onto his back, holding the lemon to the sky and peering through its translucent flesh. Another taffy twinge. Yawning, he stretched, shifting to a more comfortable position. No point fussing over it now. With his belly pleasantly full, he allowed the soothing ocean symphony to lull him to sleep.

Atlas woke as the sun was setting, painting peach nectar as it went. He watched the colours glow and fade. Watched grey morph to void. His eyes glittered as a million stars stole his breath. His soul jittered. A sight he would never grow accustomed to. The taffy burst. This was it!

A moment later and he was in his work shop, his hideaway, his nest carved into an abandoned train, it didn’t matter what you wanted to call it! He had work to do! Tools clattered as he dove into draws of neatly arranged equipment, pocketing this and that. A scribbled design and he could begin.

He worked well into the night, bending metal slivers into tiny bezels, mixing pigments – no that’s not right, start over – until the pieces were ready. He poured resin, one drop at a time, into the frames, curing it under his UV hexed lamp. The sun was rising once more as he connected the bracelet into a whole. He held the diamonds to the light, illuminating the sky painted within. Colours reflected over his face. One of citrus and stone fruit farewelling the day, one of ink dripping with stars, and one of gold glittering greetings to the sun. Each framed with silver and held together by a delicate chain. He purred in delight. It was Purrfect. He couldn’t wait to show Lady Clara! But first, a nap.

Thoughts TM on the Live Action (hard spoilers ahead. Also, warning: it’s long.):

- Firstly, the casting. The absolute Best casting decision in this whole movie, visuals-and-acting-wise, is Isshin hands down. He LOOKS like Isshin, he ACTS like Isshin-- actually, Movie!Isshin > Manga!Isshin. They toned down the goof a tiny bit, played up his love and concern for the kids, and put him in an APRON for 90% of his screentime and made him the homemaker. (A++++ MOVE, WHY THE HELL WAS YUZU COOKING FOR EVERYBODY AT THE AGE OF NINE. BAD DECISION KUBO).

- Second best casting decision is Kuchiki Rukia. I remember when her stills first came out I wasn’t 100% on this casting because sure she was gorgeous but she looked????? SO YOUNG????? but guys, she nailed it. NAILED IT. Hana Sugisaki based goddess and if u aren’t her fan now you will be by the time the movie ends.

- Sota Fukushi as Ichigo.... hm. Given that my only criteria when drawing Ichigo is to make him as hot as humanly possible, it was 100% guaranteed that any actor they put up for the role would fall short of my visual expectations from an Ichigo. NGL there are more good looking men out there than Sota Fukushi but to quote both Ro and I from our rabb.it chat during the movie...... sota fukushi hard smash

(- ok but a serious dilemma: are we attracted to him because he’s attractive, or because he’s playing ichigo and ichigo’s attractive????

-also, chad’s actor hard smash as well)

- SPEAKING of Chad.... he had. Minimal role in the movie but I love that they showed a bit of his bromance with Ichigo. It was always such a cute friendship and they did it justice with what little they showed! Anyway, I like his casting and Orihime’s too, visually speaking.

- The other casts were fine. Not !!!! worthy but like not terrible casting either. Honestly I feel like Miyavi as Byakuya could have really worked if they hadn’t given him that... AWFUL hair. The hair is even more awful in the movie than it is in the still cuts. Believe it.

- A final note on the casting... I really hated noticing this but Orihime’s actress? Erina Mano? Looks a LOT like the actress they cast for Masaki and i hate noticing it but I did. But it’s not time for the ir tea/ih salt yet that comes later

- Secondly: Characterisation. Overall decent, but you can really tell that like... they spent the most amount of care on getting the central IR dynamic right and sorta just went ‘lol that’s good enough’ for the others. It’s almost like they spent all of their characterisation budget on IR and had minimal left over to spare for minor characters (e.g: Orihime). You’ll see what I mean.

- Once again, hands down best characterisation in the whole movie is Isshin and Rukia. Isshin’s bodily comedy with Ichigo was done SO realistically, in a way that’s funny and not too over-the-top. The way they kept playing off each other as slightly overbearing father and moody teenage son was FANTASTIC. And one of the moments that had me MOST emotional in this movie was when Isshin was shown by Ichigo’s bedside, taking care of him while he’s recovering from injuries. Ichigo, upon waking from a dream of his mum, asks Isshin if he ever dreams of her. Isshin’s answer? ‘Every night’. EVERY NIGHT, MOTHERFUCKER. GOD I was never a hard isshimassa stan but this movie got me FEELING things for them

- Hana’s interpretation of Rukia is FANTASTIC. Unbelievably spot on. The emotional unavailability, her rigid initial adherence to what she believes is the shinigami code, the adorable naivete re: human world customs, the way she steamrollers over Ichigo, the way that, no matter how hard she tries to be aloof, she can’t hide the fact that she cares. She cares so much. And honestly, if there’s one thing this movie does well, it’s how they managed to get those manga-panel comic violence situations to translate so well to reality. Isshin-on-Ichigo violence translated well, and the Rukia-on-Ichigo violence translates excellently as well. Their little bickering scenes play out EXACTLY how I, at least, imagined them to go, and I couldn’t be happier about it. Also, I honestly think her looking really young works to her advantage, because it really gives you a sense of like… how bemused Ichigo must be by this whole situation. My predominant thought every time hana is on screen is SHE’S SO CUTE AND LOVELY I CAN’T DEAL WITH IT, except this tiny girl who you can only think of as ‘cute’ is like…. Bossing you around and beating your ass with a sword and instilling fucking philosophy lessons in you. It’s so surreal? And if it’s surreal for US then just imagine how surreal it must be for Ichigo.

- Sota’s Ichigo.... once again, hmm. His ‘trying to be cool’ acting (i.e. during the fight scenes) was cringey, but I can’t tell if that’s his acting skill or just the fact that what looks ‘cool’ on manga panels inVARIABLY look cringey in real life. Probably the latter. And I think he’s a LITTLE too growly for my taste, but then again, I’m used to post-timeskip Ichigo who’s a bit more... low-key cynical rather than prickly. Initial Ichigo was pretty abrasive, so I guess that’s in-character. Also, his most-said line of dialogue in this movie is ‘HAH??’ which is hilarious and very in-character. Honestly, Hana as Rukia is straight up excellent for the whole duration of the movie but I definitely think Sota shone MOST when he was acting in combination with Isshin or Rukia. Whatever I think about his individual acting skills, he definitely had chemistry with those actors in terms of dynamics.

- Guys, the IR in this is fantastic. Brilliant. Like I said, their bickering plays out to a TEE how I imagined things to go. Literally cannot fault their bickering. Their soft heartfelt moments are SO GOOD too. And they were all shot so…. Intimately? Their softer scenes were shot with such heartbreaking tenderness and I just….. ugh. Hana Sugisaki REALLY brought her acting A-game. ALSO THE WAY LITERALLY EVERYONE THINKS THEY’RE DATING??? RENJI SHOWS UP AND IS LIKE ‘OOPS I THINK I KILLED YOUR BOYFRIEND’ TO RUKIA. RENJI SAYS THAT. BYAKUYA THINKS SHE’S TOO ‘EMOTIONALLY INVOLVED’. Not to even mention Keigo and Tatsuki and Orihime……. God. Absolutely unbelievable.

- Now, if I was being picky and HAD to talk about a few gripes…. Let’s see. It takes Ichigo more time to warm up to Rukia than in canon, and he’s more of an asshole to her in this time period too. But y’know, that’s a very minor gripe. The other teeny tiny gripe I have about the IR is like…. A gripe but also not a gripe at the same time lmfao. OK so at the end when Renji and Byakuya are trying to take Rukia away, Ichigo plants himself in front of Rukia and says ‘I’m going to protect you’ and he repeats this multiple times in the fight, which, yes, extremely shippy, I’m going to die on the pavement et al, but also… this might be a weird gripe for some, because the ir dynamic has always been them protecting and saving each other. But not in so many words? It’s always been a very equal protection dynamic, partly because Rukia won’t LET him be her protector. I subscribe to the meta that this is precisely why she’s good for Ichigo. It’s also what drives him up the wall, because WHY WON’T SHE LET HIM KEEP HER SAFE, but it’s the fact that Rukia REFUSES to be one of his ‘protected people’, the fact that Rukia DEMANDS equal footing to him, that quashes down the more destructive aspects of his will to protect. But yeah, I feel like that line – ‘I’m going to protect you/her’, repeated multiple times—sort of erases the inherent equality in their dynamic and puts Rukia in the ‘protected’ pile. But that’s just because the movie didn’t have enough time for the rest of the arc. Look honestly the ir in the movie is FINE. The only reason I’m even bringing this up is because I have the manga version to compare it to, and it’s an unfair comparison to begin with because obviously the manga has so much more to work with. Overall, if you’re worried about the IR characterisation in this movie—don’t be. They hard carried the whole thing. Sota and Hana are an absolute DELIGHT to watch playing off each other. They have GREAT chemistry supported by well-shot scenes and good dialogue. 11/10 worth watching just for these two alone.

- Yuzu and Karin. Even though they changed their designs to look identical in the movie (I’m guessing for the instant visual cue of ‘oh they’re twins!’), I’m glad they kept their personalities the same. Karin is snarky as ever, Yuzu is sweet. So +1 for that. But then they made Yuzu (Karin?) say ‘Onii-chan, I’m scared’ during the fishbone D attack, rather than the canonical ‘get away, you’ll get hurt’. Which… look, fair, she’s eleven, I think that’s more realistic, but ALSO YOU JUST???? CHANGED HER WHOLE CHARACTERISATION. CAN WE PUT SOME RESPECT ON HER NAME PLEASE

- Uryuu……hmm. They made him a LITTLE more chill than he was in the manga, but he was such a dramatic character in canon already that he still comes off pretty darn dramatic in the movie. I did really like his characterisation, but he had such little screentime that I’m finding it difficult to like… do any substantial comparisons to his manga character. I’m thinking I might need a rewatch to solidify my opinions on Uryuu. But his little scene at the very end with Ichigo after they all lose their memories of Rukia is very sweet and makes me wonder about their dynamic if they hadn’t had all this quincy-shinigami bs to sort through.

- Chad was in the movie even less than Uryuu, but I have no complaints about his characterisation. Pretty accurate to manga canon.

- Guys I LOVE Keigo in this movie. ‘He died on the spot’ Iconic roast. LET KEIGO ROAST ICHIGO 2K18

- Tatsuki was eh. She wasn’t in the movie long enough for me to really have an opinion on her characterisation, and it’s unfortunate that the only part of her character they brought from manga canon was the ‘give Orihime bad advice on how to date Ichigo’ part, but whatever. It’s not technically WRONG characterisation, just not the FULL characterisation.

- Orihime…………… god, Orihime. Look you guys know that even though I have my ‘and NONE FOR ORIHIME BYE’ days, they’re mostly in jest, and I actually do appreciate her as a character. I like her, mostly! I think she’s fascinating to write about and explore! I think she deserved good things, better things than what the ending set her up for!

- But I’d strangle movie Orihime without hesitation. Bye bitch

- OK, you know how you thought anime Orihime with her constant ‘Kurosaki-kun’s was annoying??? Movie orihime was WORSE. Movie Orihime? Straight up yandere. She literally doesn’t have a single appearance where she’s not talking about Ichigo or being weirdly jealous of Ichigo and Rukia’s friendship or worrying about Ichigo in an overbearing, over-the-top way. And I’m actually really frustrated and disappointed about this, because early Karakura Orihime was ACTUALLY A GOOD CHARACTER!!!!!! Orihime, imo, is the most egregious OOC in this movie. Which is a shame, because the rest of the characterisation was actually… ok and decent

- Renji and Byakuya….. ohhhh boy. Renji and Byakuya are characterised as straight up villains for the whole movie with no redemption. There’s no nuance of them being possibly friendly and/or having concern for Rukia at all throughout the whole movie, which could be OOC depending on how you look at it, but honestly it makes sense considering this movie only covers up to chapter 56 Broken Coda and does NONE of the SS arc. Basically, their characterisations are how we would characterise them based on the one time they came to collect Rukia. They’re cold, uncaring, think humans aren’t worth anything, and that emotions are a human weakness. RENJI STRAIGHT UP SWINGS A SWORD AT AN UNARMED CIVILIAN CLOTHED RUKIA (yes I know it happened in the manga too but. It’s a lot more shocking watching it happen real-time) and also STABBED!!!! URYUU!!!!!! IN THE BACK!!! WHILE HE WASN’T DOING ANYTHING THREATENING!!! So, uh, this movie really said ‘fuck renji rights’. God I’m imagining like… if ur introduction to Bleach was through this movie, and you decided to look up how the manga ends and it’s RENRUKI and you’re like ?????????????? THE DUDE SWUNG A SWORD AT HER????? Like FORGET IH, this movie really fucking hated rr. Which… im not mad about lmfao

- Final note on characterisation: as usual, IR fucking hard carries, but what ELSE is new for this franchise. Isshin was a surprising dark horse. Overall, characterisation FINE, not OOC with one glaring exception, but sometimes because of time constraints certain characters didn’t get their FULL RANGE of characterisation.

- THIRDLY: overall technical excellence of the movie in terms of script, camera angles, choreography, CGI, etc etc

- My one line summary for this is…. It’s an anime live action adaptation. I hope ur not expecting much from this department at all

- Like, in terms of is it a GOOD movie? Lmfao. I enjoyed the hell out of it, sure, but I don’t think someone who has no idea what bleach is would a) understand what the heck is going on OR b) find the story to be well-paced and well-told. Like, I KNEW what was coming and what was going on, and even I found the movie to be a bit disjointed, kind of like old metal machinery that needs oiling to get going.

- Honestly this movie is similar to the manga in that… technically speaking it’s not great, but its strengths lie in the character arcs and the overall poetic parallels it tries to pull. It may not have been the most artistically executed, but I could tell that they really tried to put the parallel in between IR protecting each other and Masaki dying to protect Ichigo. Like, an attempt was noted! It was appreciated! Obviously they don’t do it with as much grace as the manga did but y’know, they tried!

- The script was actually really great in this movie. Bleach is a very snarky manga and the script really showcases that. Everyone shows a lot of sass. I like that. The one exception to the script being good was whenever a hollow opened its mouth to speak. They really gave the hollows dialogue like ‘I WANT YOUR SOUL’ and ‘GIVE ME YOUR SOUL’…. Like. Someone got paid for that dialogue and they really shouldn’t have.

- I honestly don’t have an opinion on the CGI. Ro kept saying that the cgi was BAD and like I guess it was, but I’m pretty lenient about CGI in general. I already know it’s going to be CGI so unless it’s BLATANTLY fake I overlook it.

- But there is this ONE SCENE of Renji going into shikai that looks so awfully fake that even I was like ‘ok no that was BAD’ so I guess CGI bad

- The choreo in the fight scenes is messy and disjointed and very cringey. I can’t believe they managed to pull manga-style comical violence in REAL LIFE and make it look believable and funny, but couldn’t choreography a decent fight scene……. Man idk. I guess they really DID spend all their budget on making IR as excellent as possible.

- Overall: technically speaking it’s a terrible movie, but will that hinder your enjoyment of it? Probably not. Watch it just for the excellent banter.

- FINALLY: Miscellaneous yelling about various scenes through 120% Ichiruki-filtered glasses.

- Guys, this movie. This movie. They really sat down and said ‘ok give them literally every single early-karakura ichiruki fanfic trope situation ever’ and that’s it, that’s the movie

- ICHIGO KEEPS LEANING DOWN RIGHT INTO RUKIA’S FACE!!!! THEY HAVE NOOOOO CONCEPT OF PERSONAL SPACE!!!! Which I guess is canon but THEY KEEP!!!!! LEANING!!!!! INTO EACH OTHER!!!! I will DIE

- The sPARRING????????? THE SPARRING?????

- Ichigo smirks while sparring her. She’s kicking his ass and goddammit, he LIKES it

- They legit made Rukia tackle Ichigo and pin him to the ground and then they made Ichigo flip them around

- And then they made ORIHIME WALK IN ON THAT

- UN!!!! BELIEVABLE!!!!!!!

- (Sidenote: they made Orihime act so weirdly jealous of that?? Like… wtf orihime. You’re not his girlfriend like she has no rights to be acting like this…. Look the Orihime characterisation in this movie is A Mess)

- They have conversations through shut closet doors while ichigo’s lying on his bed THIS APPEARS IN EVERY. SINGLE. IR EARLY KARAKURA FIC EVER IM

- Ichigo: CAN YOU GET OUT OF MY CLOSET. NO YOU CAN’T LIVE IN MY HOUSE

- Also Ichigo, the INSTANT he can’t find Rukia in his closet: WHERE IS SHE. LET ME JUST RUN AROUND IN THE DARK OUTSIDE TO FIND HER. HEY URYUU HOW DO I GET TO THE AFTERLIFE. WHAT DO YOU MEAN I CAN’T BRING HER BACK. SO WHAT IF I DO, HUH? WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO ABOUT IT. FIGHT ME

- Also ichigo becomes so much SOFTER towards Rukia after a certain point in this movie and…. God…… I love that you can see that switch in Sota’s acting. I’m going to CRY

- OK THIS IS A VERY SHORT SCENE BUT AT ONE POINT RUKIA LANDS ON A ROOFTOP WITH AN INJURED ICHIGO AND SHE LIT. RUBS HER HANDS ALL OVER THE BARE SKIN ON HIS CHEST BC SHE’S RUBBING MEDICINE INTO HIM!!!!!! WHAT THE FUCK!!!! WHERE’S THE M-15 RATING ON THIS MOVIE BC SHE LEGIT!!! HAD HER HANDS!!!! ALL OVER HIM!!!!! Ro and I shouted abt this so much God

- The final fight is RIDICULOUS in terms of HOW MUCH ICHIGO WON’T STAY DOWN and it’s framed SO dramatically lmfao but y’know, it’s shot in a very IR light, I’ll take it

- Ro and I literally were just like IT’S THE POWER OF LOVE BITCH bc he legit just KEPT getting up it was ridiculous

- Also rukia’s final speech to ichigo after she does her whole broken coda ‘don’t touch my brother lowly human’ spiel is…. Beautiful. Fucking excellent

- ‘you’re rude and brash and I’m sick of all humans especially you’ but like. Why is this literally kate’s ’10 things I hate about you’ speech at the end of that movie

- ICHIGO DOESN’T TAKE HIS EYES OFF RUKIA THE WHOLE TIME SHE’S ERASING HIS MEMORIES. DOESN’T EVEN BLINK. THIS IS SOME EP 342 TEAS ALL OVER AGAIN. FUCK. I’M GOING TO!!!! DIE!!!

- Ok so my opinion on how they changed the end: it was necessary to tie things all up in one movie but that doesn’t mean I don’t hate the fact that ichigo ostensibly forgot rukia when in canon HE’S THE ONLY ONE THAT REMEMBERED

- I guess the final scene where he looks at her writing on his textbook and smiles could be a sort of clue that he’s starting to remember. Man idk I think I’d just feel really cheated as a viewer who isn’t coming from a bleach manga/anime background, that everyone just conveniently ‘forgot’. It’s equivalent to an ‘it was all a dream!’ kind of ending imo. It’s a copout. But at the same time I can see why it was necessary :’/

- Also, this exchange with uryuu at the end where they exchange hellos before pulling up short and going ‘wait- do I know you?’ ‘no. but good to know you’ was SO HEARTBREAKING BUT SO GOOD I REALLY DID LOVE THAT

- Whoo ok I’m SURE I’ve forgotten some details but this is already EXCESSIVELY long so. Final FINAL thoughts:

- The quality of the movie is, obviously, not great, but if you were worried about weird chara interpretations and relationships, don’t be. Unless you’re an IH/RRstan or an Orihime fan. This will not be a fun movie for you. But then again, you managed to work through 686 chapters of a manga that clearly wasn’t fun for you and seemed to be ok with it, so maybe this movie won’t bother you either.

- The script is surprisingly solid and has genuinely good, occasionally touching, snarky, sassy dialogue. Good attempts at poeticism and various parallels and callbacks.

- Ichiruki fucking hard carries, and so does isshin. I love uryuu but that may just be my uryuu bias talking.

- Objectively, maybe a 4, 5/10. Ichiruki-wise? 8/10. Obviously this was written in a high straight after the movie and like, maybe after a few days or like a rewatch or w/e my opinions may change. But rn? God I love stanning legends, viva la ichiruki fuck you

Thieves in Inaba Bonus #5: Puss in Suits

Teddie, Morgana along with Ren and Yosuke are checking out the clothing department in Junes a few days after the crazyness that was that adventure. Yosuke seems a bit reluctant however, knowing how much was taken out of his account by the girls when Teddie needed clothing.

“And you really can’t afford much, you said?” Yosuke sighs, shaking his head in annoyance at the younger Persona user.

“Yeah, all the work I had was back in Tokyo along with whatever money I managed to get in Palaces or Mementos.” Ren places his hands into his pockets.

“And how much was in your account when you had to come back home, then?”

“...700,000 Yen.” The teen shrugs.

“That’s...not a number I was expecting. Wait if you had this much then why am I paying for this?!”

“I had to use a good chunk of it to replace....my old keyboard.” He blushes.

“Keyboard, what is your PC busted?” But when he asks this, Morgana laughs.

“Wrong keyboard, Yosuke. He means the instrument. Our leader is skilled not only in combat, but has some skills with music too. Just another thing Yu probably can’t do, mwehehe!”

Teddie pouts a bit. “Sensei got professionally trained for stage performance, you know! We all saved the day with dance, and it was his idea!”

“Okay okay, let’s not get into a fight you two. Geez I’m starting to sound like a parent...” Yosuke shakes his head. “See anything you like yet, Morgana?”

The former feline looks over a clothing rack, contemplating a few outfits. “It’s summer right now, so most of whats being sold is short sleeves and shorts. This sweater I appeared in is too stuffy for the season so I’d want something lightweight...”

“Well, Mona Mona if you want my suggestion...you’ll probably want something with a ‘cool’ vibe!” Teddie smiles. “I tried to be more approachable with mine, but since you have the cool thing down you should capitalize on it! Maybe you could even finally score with Ann-chan!”

“Cool huh? You might be right, Teddie.” Morgana smiles.

Yosuske sighs. “Well going that route, it might not be too much of a dent in my wallet.”

Morgana turns a corner and comes back with a few t-shirts along with some slightly nicer clothing, shorts and long shorts. “I don’t know too much about clothing sizes, but these looked close enough.”

“Well try them on, we’ll give our opinions.” Ren smiles, giving his friend a thumbs up.

Comming out with the first one, it’s a black t-shirt with some Cats styled after sushi on it. None of the three are surprised he went for that one first. He has a pair of beige long shorts to go with it. Morgana seems happy with himself.

“I think if I went with this, I’d need sunglasses as well.” He chuckles. “What do you three think.”

“It fits your personality and interests, and while cool it’s not standoffish.” Ren states, smirking.

“It’s a cute shirt! Plus, if you’re gonna meet new people it’s perfect!” Teddie smiles.

“It’s good enough. I don’t see it working miracles, clothing isn’t going to instantly get you friends. The other half is your effort after all.” Yosuke shrugs.

“Well as long as it’s not intimidating, that’s what matters.” Morgana smiles. “Onto outfit number two of three!”

He heads back in and changes, coming out in a yellow tank top with a fishbone design in the chest area. Along with it, black shorts. Once again, no surprise from the trio.

“I saw Ryuji wearing one of these, so I figured I’d copy him just to get under his skin.”

“Well, again it fits you. Plus if you start working out more this will be good to show off.” Ren nods.

“More fish themed stuff! You must really love fish, Mona!” Teddie claps.

“You don’t seem to hate any of these when you wear them, so I’d say as long as you feel confident in it, it’d work? I don’t know, I’m not good at this sorta thing.” Yosuke sighs.

“You’re at least trying. As a fellow Magcian I commend that.” Morgana chuckles. “And now for the coup de gras!”

He heads back in, coming out in a nice blue shirt and grey shorts. It looks like something he’d wear to a date. For once, the three are surprised.

“Well, what do you think? When I’m fully ready I’ll ask Lady Ann to a date, and wear this outfit to match her model style. It’ll be a great first date!” He laughs to himself.

“Well I can see it.” Ren nods.

“You’ll score her for sure! Hehe!” Teddie gives him a thumbs up combined with a wink.

“I mean, it does look like something you’d only want for a date so I can’t argue.” Yosuke shrugs again.

“Good! Now to get more outfits like this!” Morgana smiles, going to change back.

“W-Wait, more?!”

“What, did you think we were just stopping at three? I’m not an idiot. I need enough so I don’t constantly wear the same four all over again.”

Yosuke lowers his head. So much for saving his wallet from an early grave.

“Don’t complain now. Remember, this was my requirement for cooperation with the Operatives. Ren’s deals weren’t the only thing keeping us with you.” Morgana laughs, walking a bit ahead.

“He could have asked Sho, or or Mitsuru! Hell even Rise! But no, he asks me...” Yosuke drags his feet as he follows Morgana.

Teddie looks to Ren. “What did the others ask, if you don’t mind me wondering?”

“Theirs were a lot more reasonable. Futaba wanted to learn about Aigis and Labrys. Yusuke wanted to take up another art form to expand his skills, so he asked Kanji if he can learn how to crochet. Haru wasn’t positive on if she wanted to ask for anything, so she insisted that she had to give them something in exchange for her cooperation. Ann wanted to take Yukari somewhere to bond more. Something with crepes I bet. Makoto wanted to sharpen up her skills with Akihiko, and Ryuji? He still hasn’t decided.”

Teddie blinks. “So is the deal off if he doesn’t decide?”

“Na. Morgana was bluffing just to get Yosuke to comply.” Ren laughs.

“That’s mean!” Teddie huffs.

“You get used to it....”

2018 Megaman Summer Fanart Contest Part 1.0 Results!!

Again, thank you everyone for your patience. Too many random things popping up over the last 2 weeks. ^^; Whew, just got this posted before midnight. Sorry for the late night post for those of us in the US, but it’s kinda my thing, isn’t it?

14 total entries between the two categories, but as always, a nice mix of new participants and veterans to this contest. Are the usual players coming away with the goodies, or have the newbies snuck in to wow us with their creative styles? While tumblr will shrink down all the images, I will include the full size uploads (well, almost for all - 2 were way too big) on my imgbox account. Just click on the “(FULL VIEW)” link for each one. Hopefully this way, there won’t be people who have trouble viewing them this time around.

My thanks to @digitallyfanged and @jaybird-c for helping me judge the entries this time around!! We were all sorta on the same page it seems for our individual results, but it’s always harder when there is a smaller total of participants, because everyone is deserving in their own way.

Thanks once again also to all who participated! For all winners [and there are 10 of you, out of 14], I will be contacting you as soon as I can about your prizes. If you didn’t win, there’s always next time...which starts as soon as tomorrow, when I announce Contest Part 1.1 (as in Mega Man 11)!!

CATEGORY 1: Ride Armor Road Trip

*Tabby’s #1 - I felt like out of all of the pieces, this hit the theme the hardest. Definitely showing the back of one of the cards was a really unique touch to the piece as well. And that LaLinde postcard. The CHEEK. “Hey dad, I visited your girlfriend while on vacation.”

*Jay’s #1 - I have got to hand it to Folly Knight, above and beyond doesn't begin to cover this. Eight postcards, each with a unique theme, composition, and aesthetic, and then all presented together? That's fantastic.

Miyabi’s #1 - Even as simple, everyday objects, that book and cup of coffee are painted so well! I appreciate all the various scenes you presented in your postcards, with emotions ranging in each one of them. From the hilarious “Shrimpin’ Ain’t Easy” bib to Blues’ loneliness in Fiji, your entry was varied and unique. I also felt your entry really represented the theme very, very well.

2.) @multiple-sages: (FULL VIEW LINK PIC 1) (FULL VIEW PIC 2)

*Tabby’s #2 - This is very cute. I like that it showed summer activities from sort of a different perspective/culture. Not everything is action and traveling. Sometimes it’s small festivals and quiet cafes with friends. Zero definitely seems like the type to sit around in a cat cafe for hours.

*Jay’s #2 - Man, it was hard to pick -- a lot of these have great composition, but I think the #2 Spot should go to [multiple-sages for] Cinnamon and Zero. It does a great job at setting the scene for the moment and raises a lot of interesting questions as to how exactly we got here. Obon postcard is also very good, but of the two, this is a slightly less evocative piece (that is, there's less story apparent here)

*Miyabi’s #2 - Both cards look super cute, and show different ways the hunters spend their time not battling Mavericks, while experiencing tradition in Japan. The Maverick Hunter logo stamp on Axl’s was a nice touch. The little kitties are all adorable, either sleeping or pawing around with Zero’s luxurious golden teaser toy hair. Like Cinny is trying, it’s hard to hide your smile while looking at that scene!

3.) Steph O’Dell: (FULL VIEW PIC)

*Tabby’s #3 - A very cute image of the ladies at the beach. Everyone needs some sun! I do dig how you made it sort of look like a selfie.

*Miyabi’s #3 - While the hubby is away, the girls will play. Haruka finally gets out of the house and to the beach with some friends. The selfie style was a different take compared to the other entries, while still feeling like a postcard. While the palm trees look like they’re just ‘shopped in, the rest of the background ocean and sand is deceptive enough where I couldn’t tell you had worked on that until I zoomed in closer. So kudos for making that part of your background look photorealisitic! .

*Jay’s #3 (tie) - Very appealing and exceedingly well-composed, but kind of suffers a little from how they handle the text. There's a sizing issue the cuts some of the text short.

*Miyabi says - I didn’t know I needed to see starfish booblight Zero, but I am amused! XD I totally liked where you were going with the curved arc format for the text to match that familiar typefont on so many postcards, but I agree that the ‘from’ getting partially chopped feels like it just needed to be resized down a little more. Otherwise, a fun pic that fit the theme well!

@chaudandfrends *RAFFLE WINNER ~ ZERO ACCESSORY SET*: (FULL VIEW PIC)

*Jay wrote - This drawing is ambitious, but I'm afraid it's more pictures with text over postcards.

*Miyabi says - I don’t care if I need to eat my calcium, I am not touching those fishbones, Captain Beefhead. Good mix of action with Yai, Dingo and Netto jumping into the water, to the rest of the crew reclining and enjoying their refreshing dip. The watercolor look to your sky and sand give a little contrast to the rest of your coloring technique for all the characters. LOL at Enzan ducky on his inner tube.

*Miyabi says - Much like myself, a Shadow vacation involves not really going anywhere, not really doing anything, and just enjoying the simple things outdoors near home, while sipping an ice cold beverage. XD While you won’t see many Polaroids around these days, it feels fitting for these two bots. I felt it was a wonderful composition, and very enjoyable piece.

*Jay wrote - I gotta say, I love Seabyrocks' sunset lighting, but I'm afraid the pose is a little simple and, I hate to break it to you, Rock, but you put your hands on backwards.

*Miyabi says - Nobody should visit Mega City without a commemorative autographed heroic Rock Light postcard! I do think you did wonderful blending those sunset colors in, on the right side of the pic. The purples and oranges are so pretty in the sky. Very cute!

*Jay’s #3 (tie) - Very appealing and exceedingly well-composed, but kind of suffers a little from how they handle the text, as it blends in with the darker parts of the background.

*Miyabi says - This turned out very pretty, and also gave me a laugh with Zero’s pointy helmet tips poking through his straw hat. Having a butterfly land on X’s finger feels so fitting for his peace-loving ways, and I loved the E-Tank being used as a container to hold all those fresh strawberries. Even the little details like the dirt and grass on Zero’s shovel are well done.

*Jay’s #1 - This. This is the picture that caught my eye immediately. The composition, the lighting -- this is one of those iconic series' images that gives you everything a character stands for. Lumine is going to end the world, and every second of it's gonna rock. Goofball Axl and hardcore samurai Zero are also winners.

*Tabby’s #1 - I love this. I love everything about this. I love the extra mile on making the design sheets, and making it look like a horribly ripped off tv shot. The corny dialogue. Clearly Ruby Spears needed to continue and make us an X series.

*Miyabi’s #1 - You get major kudos for using an actual Ruby Spears production sheet as your format, and adding those effects to make it look just like it was a photocopy I scanned. The grainy filter to make the ‘screencaps’ feel like they came from a VHS tape, and punny one-liners are wonderful! Thanks for putting in all the work to make your entry feel like it would fit in perfectly with the original series! (P.S. - those aren’t booblights for Zero anymore. Those are mammoth pec sunglasses, that would blind anyone who dares to stare at his super cool, manly chest!!! LOL)

2.) @kaitlinexe: (FULL VIEW PIC)

*Miyabi’s #2 - Of course this theme was right up your alley, and you certainly didn’t disappoint! I can’t believe how many characters you tried to fit into this collage. While at first glance it might feel like you focused on mostly existing RS-characters, you really did add quite a few updated designs. I just have this feeling that you planned to be even more ambitious than this, but weren’t able to finish it as you hoped. But regardless of the lack of background, the work you put in drawing all of these characters is amazing! Kalinka, Treble Boost Bass, and Time Man are probably my favorites of your redesigns.The more pronounced spikes for Bass’ helmet and claws look so, so good!!

*Jay’s #3 - I gotta love all your new designs, and is your Skull Man taking notes from Hitoshi Ariga or am I just getting my hopes up? Bonus points for all the attention to detail and going out of your way to replicate the original style.

*Tabby’s #3 - You definitely have the style down pat here. It’s super clean. This would make a great poster, with a little bit of background work.

3.) @pstart: (FULL VIEW PIC)

*Tabby’s #2 - Dat Forte. You really changed up his and Gospel’s design quite a bit, and it definitely works within the Ruby Spears theme. Super kudos on the retro graphic design going on here. It almost looks like the back of the old DVD covers too.

*Miyabi’s #3 - Just from the look on his face, I feel like Bass would have the same wisecracks and would sound almost just like Proto Man...only with a deeper voice. And now I’m imagining Proto and Bass both harassing Mega in stereo. XD I like the "super” title twist to your ad, which would have played off the actual game well, if Ruby Spears got another season to coincide with Megaman 7′s release. It does feel like an ad I’d see in old gaming mags.

*Jay wrote - I like your poster design. Good job cleaving to the show's style, good job with the little details like the marketing schlock and copyright, great job with the classy reference to the old school instruction manuals.

*Jay wrote - Block Man is a neat design; the plunging neckline is certainly evocative. This one, too, could've stood to have more personality exhibited.

*Miyabi says - From what little we’ve heard, Block Man’s dialogue in Megaman 11 is like by far the most fitting to be used in Ruby Spears. So he was a good, and relevant choice to try to tackle. Definitely can see his chiseled pecs hiding under his main shell, and feels like he’s at least been working out on leg day, doing squats while lifting his heavy body around everywhere.

@hyperbole1729: (FULL VIEW COMIC) (FULL VIEW BURST)

*Jay wrote - Your Burst Man is something. The explosive nipples are going to haunt me. But as stand-out as your design is, I wish you would've shown off more of Burst Man's personality.

*Miyabi says - Your comic totally has the right tone with the dialogue, from Proto’s complaint not being able to deal the final blow, Wily being Wily, and the obligatory ‘sizzling circuits.’ It flows well, has some drama, and I totally read it all in their Ruby-Spears voices. Burst does seem like he’s bulked up just right, with some minor changes to his classic design.

@3-oclock-blues *RAFFLE WINNER ~ ARCHIE COMIC INKED PAGE*: (FULL VIEW PIC) (FULL VIEW SPLASH)

*Jay’s #2 - Now THIS is promotional material. I love how well Bass is introduced by simply having him rage off into the distance. Everybody else, they're mad because they hate this moment. Bass? Bass just hates everything. Splash Woman is also a neat design, but also shows off more design than personality.

*Miyabi says - BUT I WON’T MISS THIS TIME...With all the rage and fear from everyone around them, it’s quite amusing to see the two brothers smiling as they hold their glowing busters to each other. It’s chaotic, but also nicely almost ties in with the photo theme of the first category, too. Splashy’s side fins and more flowing waves protruding from her helmet are nice touches to her design. Would have been interested to see how she and other Light/Wily bots would have fit into that family photo.

"Sailing with Fire"

Rated M for smut.

Summary: Lucy is in desperate need of a break from the mage life and embarks on a two week cruise alongside her partner, Natsu. What they don't know is that it's a cruise designed specifically for couples. With no other choice than to pretend they are married, the two try to enjoy the cruise the best they can, all the while dealing with uncharted feelings.

Happy breathed a heavy sigh as he lazily flew into the guild that morning. Taking his spot by the other Fairy Tail exceeds, he frowned. Though it was partially his fault- okay, maybe all his fault- that Natsu and Lucy were on a cruise without him, he missed them a lot and wanted them to come home soon.

"What's wrong, Happy?" Pantherlily asked, noticing his glum expression.

"I miss Natsu and Lucy," Happy answered. "Two weeks is a lot longer than I thought it would be."

"Maybe you shouldn't have lied to them about the cruise then," Charle chimed in disapprovingly. If she were in his shoes, she would've told Lucy about her mistake the moment she saw the flyer.

"But I wanted to help them! I'm sick of them playing dumb around each other! They obviously like each other."

Out of nowhere, Mira appeared. Her blue eyes were burning with curiosity as she sat beside them.

"Who likes each other?" she asked in excitement.

"Natsu and Lucy," Happy answered. With that, everyone else in the guild circled around them.

Gray, having already lost his clothes and was standing in nothing but his boxers, scoffed. "Like? More like love. Those idiots are head over heels for each other. It's disgusting, really."

"Juvia thinks it's romantic!" the blue-haired girl gushed. Clasping her hands together and staring at the ice-make mage with hearts in her eyes, she continued, "They sound like Gray-sama and Juvia!"

"As if!"

Everyone rolled their eyes at the two's commentary before turning back towards Happy. It was Cana that spoke next, after taking a swig of alcohol, of course.

"They'll be back tomorrow, don't get your panties in a bunch," she said. "And don't forget, everyone. We get to find out who won the bet! Gray, Gajeel, you two are gonna be handing us your money tomorrow, you better show up!"

Gajeel scoffed and crossed his arms. "Oh, please. Salamander doesn't have the guts to tell Bunny Girl he likes her. They're gonna come back being the same idiots they were when they left."

"Whatever you say! Just make sure you have the money ready, got it?"

"Same goes to you, you drunkard. Seriously, it's like ten in the morning. Who the hell drinks straight out of the barrel at ten in the morning?"

With a wave of Cana's hand to dismiss Gajeel's remark, everyone returned to bickering about Lucy and Natsu's romantic situation. Whether they were just friends or something more, they no longer had to wait long. Tomorrow, they would get the answers they were looking for.

Natsu and Lucy shared a collective sneeze before glancing at each other with raised brows. They had just returned from curing the former's motion sickness for the day.

"That was weird," Lucy said. "You think someone is talking about us right now?"

Natsu shrugged. "You actually believe that stuff?"

"You don't?"

"Nope. Why would anyone be talking about us?"

"I guess you've got a point."

Lucy grabbed her suitcase and opened it beside the drawers. The two had decided they would pack today rather than waiting until the last minute. Well, Lucy decided it. Natsu just went along with it. After complaining, of course.

While the two were sad that their time alone together was coming to an end soon, both were excited to see the guild again. They missed everyone, especially Happy. They hoped their third musketeer was taking care of himself.

"Happy's probably blowing all of our money off on fish right now," Natsu said with a chuckle.

"And probably scratching my walls," Lucy added, smiling fondly at the thought. Well, not the thought of Happy scratching up her walls, but the thought of Happy himself.

"I wonder how many fishbones are lying around now."

"That's disgusting. Seriously. You need to teach that dumb cat how to clean up after himself. And while you're at it, teach yourself how to clean up, too."

"Life is more fun a mess!"

Lucy merely rolled her eyes, focusing on the task at hand.

Natsu allowed his eyes to roam Lucy's body as she folded her clothes neatly before tucking them into her suitcase. She was wearing a loose, white tank-top that revealed most of her breasts. Why she bothered wearing it in the first place, he would never know. To go with the revealing top, the girl also wore gray pajama shorts that were barely longer than what was considered underwear-length. He could even see a touch of her navy-blue panties underneath her shorts. His eyes landed on her neck, which was in view since she tied her hair up in a high pony.

Natsu wanted nothing more than to sink his lips over her neck but knew that Lucy would beat him into oblivion if he even tried it. She had been nagging him to start packing for a while now and all he'd gotten done was unzipping his suitcase.

"It sucks we won't have alone time like this when we go home," Natsu thought.

At the thought of returning home, the boy's stomach churned as the corners of his lips tugged downwards into an uneasy frown. Having fun with Lucy the past couple of days had allowed him to push his worries to the back of his mind. Now that they were leaving the next day, his anxiety was hitting him like a brick.

What were things going to be like when they returned home?

Natsu's fingers slightly trembled as he put away his clothes. Just the mere thought of them going back to just friends made him feel sick. But what if that's what Lucy wanted?

"Lucy did say that she loves me," Natsu reminded himself. His frown deepened, however, with his next thought. "But I don't know if she wants to continue this. Her old man almost married her off. What if she doesn't want to be tied down because of it?"

After all, the two were still young. Natsu would understand if Lucy wanted to experience life for herself before settling down. But that didn't mean he couldn't hope for the opposite. He had had his fair share of adventure- being a part of Fairy Tail, it was impossible not to. And though he wasn't looking on getting married or anything anytime soon, he wouldn't mind committing to only Lucy. He wouldn't mind that at all, actually.

Natsu knew that talking about it was the only way to get answers to his unspoken questions. The thought of pressuring Lucy without meaning to scared him, though. He wanted the decision to be solely hers. Besides, he couldn't find the courage to bring it up in fear that the answer would shatter him.

He dealt with dark guilds, assassins, and even a dragon that nearly killed half of his guild, himself included. During those times, he could muster up courage to defeat his enemies to protect his friends. But talking to Lucy about their relationship? He couldn't find any courage at all for it and his fears were unmatched.

Once dinner time rolled in, the two headed downstairs to the dining hall, which was packed with all of the guests. It was the last dinner of the cruise, so everyone expected something good to be on the menu for the night. And they definitely were not disappointed. The entrée was a smoked salmon with freshly squeezed lemon juice and a secret sauce. For dessert, the crew handed out slices of cheesecake topped with strawberry syrup and white chocolate shavings.

While Lucy and Natsu munched on their dessert, an employee walked to the front of the room, mic in hand. He appeared to be a year younger than them with brunette hair and brown eyes. Clearing his throat, he grabbed the attention of everyone in the vicinity.

"Good evening, everyone," he said with a kind smile. "Since this is our last dinner together, the crew and I put together a show for you all. Take it away, girls!"

A group of girls of all shapes and sizes sauntered to the front of the room. They were all adorned in bejeweled red bikini tops and bottoms and had red sashes draping over their arms. Around their necks were golden chokers with a dangling ruby that bounced with each step. Over their heads were headbands with large red and orange feathers.

The girls got into formation and soon enough began to dance to the music that was playing. Their movements were graceful and poised, timed perfectly to the beat. It reminded Lucy of Juvia when she bended water to her will.

As the music began to pick up in pace, each girl moved to a table in the crowd and twirled around with their sashes like roses blooming during Spring. Then, they handed their sashes to one of the girls at each table.

Lucy's eyes widened as the dancer at their table held the sash to her. Her cheeks tinted pink and she tried to back out of it but before she knew it, the dancer was grabbing her hands and placing the sash into them.

"Go, Luce!" Natsu cheered in excitement.

Lucy nervously stood up, embarrassed that the attention of the people at her table was on her. To make matters worse, she wasn't much of a dancer. Luckily for her, the dancer was instructing her on what to do.

Lucy smiled and placed a hand over his cheek. "Yes, Natsu. I would've had a child with the person I love, someone I know would make a great father. Sure, we'd have trouble financially, but we have the guild to help out. But can we stop worrying about this? I'm telling you, we're fine."

Natsu smiled before leaning towards the girl and capturing her lips in a gentle kiss. Just hearing her say that she loved him and wouldn't mind having a child with him made his heart swell with joy. If one thing was for certain in that moment, it was that she was his just as he was hers.

My new wall

I moved rooms recently so I moved my wall with it. I’ve been planning to make this post since November when I finished Feeling Bonely but well, I think now that I have everything up it’s time.

Moodboard Monday – The Guest Bedroom Starts to Take Shape

Some of this weekend was spent thinking about the guest bedroom at home. I know, I know, it was a glorious weekend and the footy was on, but I did get to enjoy both also. This is the only room (apart from the bathrooms) that I haven’t tackled yet and I’m now itching to get started. Like every room in the house it has it’s limitations, it has more than one function, and I do have to work with the furniture I have. Over the years it’s become the room that redundant furniture goes to to retire. Not that I don’t still love that furniture. It’s just that my tastes and style have moved on a tad. So what I have is a large, quite ornate wardrobe that takes up one whole wall, an iron bedstead, a wood and rattan bedside table, and a piano. Oh, and a spare rattan chair that matches my dining chairs. There’s no room for anything else, so that’s it.

On top of all of this the room is quite small and has absolutely no features at all. And I mean none. The smallish window is centred on one wall and has white plantation shutters, the carpet is beige, and the walls are magnolia. Is it any wonder that I close the door every time I walk past? I owe my guests an apology.

Scheme One

Currently my favourite scheme. I never thought I’d be adding curtains in this house, but the window and surrounding wall needs them. Alternatively, I could have added pattern and colour with wallpaper, but the room is so small and kinda so crammed with furniture that I feel bold wallpaper will be overwhelming. I’m feeling the grey striped wallpaper (and it’s from B&Q so my purse will love it) and the green curtains will add some personality. The rug I already have. The star shaped pendant I already have. and I’ve ordered the brass table lamp. Emerald green and blue accessories will complete the look.

Scheme Two

Working with the same basics I’ve added a more traditional floral curtain treatment but brought it up to date with boho accessories in shades of grey, black, cream and ochre. It has more texture going on, but runs the risk of looking too traditional and maybe a bit bland. The jury is out on this one.

Possible Accessories

Because there is very little opportunity to add accessories in the room (no surface space) except on the walls, I’m thinking of adding a shelf above the bed. One that is chunky and has iron brackets to echo the iron bedstead. I could hang a pendant lamp from it, as I only have one bedside table, and use it for plants, books and accessories. On the one remaining wall I quite like the idea of a group of mirrors.
