It shouldn't need to be said but I'm seeing a lot of vitriol towards Ashton about their actions and I have to say I don't agree with them.
At the clock tower Fearne brought up the shard, stated that in her opinion Ashton should take the shard because she didn't want it. Ashton decided then as a result they'd take it, but because it was an extreme risk made very aware to them all they knew the other Hells wouldn't allow them to go through with it. Ashton asked Fearne if she was okay with both of them going together alone with the plan, reiterating that they didn't want to put this on Fearne, that if they died Fearne would not be to blame, and that they have no intention of dying, and Fearne said yes.
Fearne having second thoughts at the Ziggurat was just worry, because she cares deeply for Ashton, Ashton kissing her was not manipulation either; it was letting go of fear, having no regret with the person they also care deeply for and taking the risk. And yeah, it was frightening, 10 rounds of perpetual fiery near-death situations and one actual death situation; Laura is fuming, Ashley cannot look, Liam is playing Mad World on loop in his mind, even Matt is completely on edge, but they survived. Accusations that Ashton manipulated Fearne to selfishly take the shard seem to misinterpret the shard saga as well as Fearne and Ashton's characters, they will get a very intense amount of chastising for sure, but it will be out of love, out of the fear that they were going to lose them, not because they thought Ash was manipulative.

I understand that there is absolutely a reason for folks to argue that there are no "good enough" conditions under which religion just disappears, and I agree that it's an incredibly hateful and harmful position to hold in the first place. along with being, y'know, completely fucking nonsensical.
however
if your argument to this is "the thing that makes humans human is religion" respectfully I need you to re-evaluate with people who are not religious in mind & consider what kind of impact that has on a group that is already dehumanized. for not being religious.

"you always beat the level before me, but i had fun anyways!"
AU/prediction for S5. MK goes beserk in his kaiju form and mei shows him a drawing he made of him and mei back in S1
MK runs to mei to knock her out but he stops just a few feet in front of her when he sees what she's holding.
more AU since i don't think this will happen but there's always a chance!

Stolen from Scummy's reblog because I wanted to do it too!
Note that most half-filled squares are ones that are technically true, but it's under specific circumstances and rules, will explain below
So, for now, some Blorbos from me:
-Intense in loves and passions (for Nobunaga, for MC once they get together, for trying to get Mitsuhide to take better care of himself, in his care for others, dude is just passionate for his loved ones!)
-His love for Nobu and his interactions with Mitsuhide can get a little fruity, not gonna lie.
-Technically orphan since we don't really hear much about his family aside from his poor upbringing and having to be a bum to get by until Nobu came into his life. Agas in discord has also told us about RL Hideyoshi and how much his mom loved Kennyo and I think that's funny to think about sometimes.
-Frequently violent but only when it comes to protecting his loved ones. He thinks one of them is in trouble and the man will go feral trying to find a way to help them. Overall speaking, he's not particularly violent, I don't think though.
-----
-Nothing anyone says is gonna make me change my mind about this man being bisexual. Nope, not happening.
-Technically a tragic backstory as he frequently does Team Oda's dirty work of spying and torture, but his tragic backstory is not quite to the extent that some other characters go through, like poverty, figure-headness, and killing a loved one.
-Technically frequently violent, but it's mostly in the pranks he pulls. Not ferally violent, in a sense. He's sneaky about his violent tendencies. You don't want to mess with his wife, after all.
-Divorced? He's a double agent that always goes back to his ex (Team Oda).
------
-Being an immortal vampire means you must have some complexities and that doesn't excuse you being fruity, monsieur.
-Technically an orphan as I don't think we hear much about his birth family as we do Leonardo and Vlad. They're mentioned sometimes but no word on their current status as he tends to focus more on his found family. Until I get confirmed status, he's orphan status to me, thus why the creation of his found one.
-Divorced from Vlad, duh.
------
-Listen. Listen. Devon/batteryrose was onto something with shipping Nokto and Slivio. Plus, been thinking of finding ways of shipping my OC and him with Rio. Just something about Nokto and the Bentonite princes does something to my mind, okay?
-Technically an orphan after what happened to his and Licht's mom, plus the whole reason for the Belle procedure is because his dad died. Maybe it doesn't count because he was an adult when his dad died, but, technically speaking, both his parents are dead, so...
-Murderer by technicality because of Blood-stained Roses Day (all the princes at the time were said to have participated, so, technically speaking). He also tried to poison some merchants for a business deal, so attempted murderer too, technically?
-----
-Have you seen this demon when his family is in danger (actual, perceived, or otherwise)? He will go absolutely bat-shit feral when his family is in danger! Once you're under his wings, nothing will stop him from going to the absolute limit and beyond for you.
-Technically divorced from the Celestial Realm because of Circumstances™️, not from a specific person.
-Also on a technicality, because of that... whole war with the Celestial Realm, so some angels were more than likely killed, right?

luz and hunter as dead kids who came back Literally Perfectly Fine but spend a good year or so worrying that they Came Back Wrong because now hunter can hear his dead bird in his head and luz keeps accidentally making her lip bleed with a leftover snaggletooth and they're like "how do we know that we're still REALLY us. how do we know that the real luz and hunter shouldn't be dead for real." because they're both idiot children with mental illnesses who are prone to passive suicidality. even when the apocalypse dust has settled.
them falling back on their bad habit of only talking to Each Other about their worries because they're like "no one else will understand or validate our super real super rational concerns :( we're both the only dead people in the group so we MUST be objectively right :("
and then eventually - in a way that mysteriously coincides with both of them starting to have fewer daily PTSD symptoms (nightmares, panic attacks, needing to make sure people are Fine, etc) - luz is like, "wait a second. you were technically dead the whole time anyway. and you were totally fine and normal then. like, aside from the horrors. and flapjack wanted you to live. hunter you're fine you should DEFINITELY be here"
and hunter is like "well. you Weren't dead from the beginning BUT god technically loved and died for you specifically like flapjack did for me. and he'd probably be mad that you think you shouldn't be here because you so clearly are fine and the best of all of us and everything's so much better because we have you"
and then they're both like "huh. you may have a point here actually." and both of them are totally 100% all good on the whole being dead thing.

i finally played through the galar chapter of the villain arc in pokémas and it was pretty alright, it at least made me feel kinda vindicated about my stance on rose being a redeemable villain. i will say that i think the chapter would've been stronger if (01) bede was present & played a core role in the plot and (02) oleana switched sides to help rose see that he can't save the future if he keeps going down the same path & tries to do it alone.

I need to have Nikolai encounter a child and be asked to kill it.
I mean...he would, but I could see an internal struggle he has to go through. I mean we're talking about a child, someone who's innocent and happy and not burdened by the world around them.
They have some of the freedom he so craves, a glint in their eye that he lost long ago. So, who is he to take that away from them, to show them how this world is cruel and trap them in a cage.

currently thinking about a lan wangji years and years into his journey of healing
like 7, 10 years after the first siege. a lwj who's mostly moved on from the pain and regret and whose grief has now made a place in a little corner of his heart, and for the most part, he doesn't really think about it. maybe he'll even go months without thinking of wei ying, until he finds someone selling ugly yllz portraits, or a child telling scary stories about the devil wei wuxian. but sometimes it's also in a very specific way that sizhui laughs or enunciates a word that almost sounds like wei ying talking. sometimes it's passing by an abandoned flower spirit garden, or a lotus lake, or watching young cultivators hunt water ghouls.
these moments that can be so few and far between, and they... stir a little, some even sting. but they don't hurt anymore. he carries them with him, and he moves on

chloe must be one of the strangest interns to come to the program. hollis is just sitting her down, going through her paperwork with her mentor (gisu), and asking her why she wants to be an agent.
"oh, well, i would like to contact whatever entity has been communicating with me since i was a kid. i feel like i'm finally close enough to reach them, and this program is the final key."
and hollis stops typing to stare at her because that is not a fucking answer she has ever heard in her life. she looks at gisu, expecting the same uncertainty, but gisu is just nodding like that was as simple as commenting on the weather.
"gisu-"
"yeah, she says she's from space. she's cool. don't worry 'bout it."
"oh, i will worry about it."
chloe insists she's from outer space, and she's an alien, so hollis decides to drop it...for now. they'll have another evaluation, so maybe, chloe will realize otherwise! (hollis is not ready to for chloe's teen life crisis when she's hit with the realization that she isn't an alien, a great majority of her life was spent thinking otherwise, thus distancing herself with her parents (who love her, though there is a distance created by chloe), and discounting her relationships with those who either believed or kept going on for way too long (bobby, lili, gisu, etc - not tala, who really thinks she's an alien when bobby already figured it out years ago but didn't have the heart to tell her).)

tw: suicidal
It's poetic, in its own way, that I have experienced much joy in life, and yet, were I able to just stop existing altogether, without a care to what kind of pain would follow me or stay with those I leave, I would.
