art-related stuff - projects and updates

art fight - i have a few more revenges to complete, and then im checking out. turns out doing a big attack in the middle of the month sapped my art energy and motivation severely. im proud of that big wasp attack, but maybe i should've poked at it at a less ambitious pace. too late to change that, but i'll keep that in mind for next year.

commissions - i need to reevaluate things before i open those up again. in hindsight, i think i priced things oddly last time, and i want to fix that. also, i'm going to limit what i offer and make clearer what happens and what i charge if the character has no ref image.

adoptables - i have some ideas for some fun designs i want to explore which aren't fandom related. and because i find it fun, i'll likely open up hk charm oc adopts again separate from my other designs. i'm going to try to be better and more consistent about pricing my designs, since i've had feedback about undercharging recently.

i got accepted into the bug fables fanzine, so i'm looking forward to starting work on my piece for that! i can't say or share anything else, unfortunately, but given the people contributing, i expect it'll be a very cool and worthwhile project :)

i embroidered something recently and it turned out decently, but it's not something to share. i would like to work on embroidery more, however, so hopefully i will have things to share eventually. i have a few ideas based on drawings or characters, but part of me also just wants to stitch ocean waves or flowers, so we'll see what i end up doing [probably a bit of everything, let's be real]

thanks to the recent bird marker drawings turning out pretty great, i want to ride the momentum and make more art with markers. predictably, i'm thinking about bugs and/or dragons. i'll probably start with bugs~

i have some character concepts that i've either started developing or need to iterate further before im set on them, but i'd like to branch out more, so these will hopefully help with that. would've been nice if i'd started this process before art fight so i could have more to offer during, but oh well, they weren't ready yet and it's not something i want to rush.

Agere What We Do In The Shadows (2014) headcanons? 👀

OKAY I actually have so many of these but quick disclaimer I can't remember which ones I got from the anon's from tinytinybumblebee so

in my hc Anton and Viago are each others cg's and trade off taking care of each other - Viago is much more open to the concept whilst Anton can be quite a bit shy when it comes to being tiny.

Anton:

Regresses from about 0-5, pretty embarrassed about being so small, especially as the alpha of his pack, so he rathers to just curl up next to Clifton or Stu and pretend he doesn't need anything someone that tiny would (of course, the second he finds out, Viago gives him everything someone that teensy tiny could ever want or need).

definitely a pup, loves to chew on things, prefers squeaky chew toys over babydolls or legos (though he still likes them anyway).

definitely likes to play 'Alpha', using baby dolls and teddies to act as his 'pack' as he tucks them into bed or tries to feed them imaginary food.

definitely a cuddly baby. needs cuddles to get through the day. will accept being squished but if you don't give him cuddles you will find a little pup trying to wiggle himself face first behind you on the couch.

when he's big he struggles a bit with his wolf instincts (chasing sticks, howling, barking, etc) but when he's tiny? all that goes out the window. If a car is banging and revving down in the street you know he's at the window barking and howling before Viago can pull him away. Viago has to buy him a harness because every time he sees something 'cool' on a walk he just has to chase it, and Viago can't deal with the stress of a lost pup again.

He chews on literally everything. like everything. shoes, furniture, toys, clothes, anything he can get his sharp little teeth on. The vamps and the pack conspire to get him a mouthguard so his sharp werewolf teeth can't eat the table legs and give him splinters again.

whenever he's too small to be comfortable around the pack Viago scoops him up and flies him to the vampire's 'flat'. Despite both their aversion to werewolves, both Deacon and Vladislav quite like Anton, giving him scratches behind the ears and not minding when he presses up against their legs, asking for a cuddle as they watch pre-recorded daytime tv.

he is still a puppy, so sometimes he 'bites' - or really just kind of mouths with tiny bit of teeth - on people's hands or ankles. Deacon absolutely despises this, tries to scold him until one of the other vampires sees and tells him off for it. Vladislav doesn't mind so much.

must be warm. requires every blanket and beanie and pair of socks and pair of mittens in order to sleep, including the air conditioner set as high as possible and an electric blanket to curl up on. it especially help when he wants a cuddle from Viago, who's essentially a 'living' ice pack.

sleepiest baby alive. most of his time spent small is spent curled up fast asleep

Viago:

regresses less often than Anton but doesn't hide it at all, so even though Anton slips quite often, most people see Viago tiny and assume he's just easier to slip. He's closer to 3-6 but occasionally slips a bit further

Most often regresses with the vampires and clings to Vladislav's side, but love love loves when he can be tiny with Anton over at the pack house.

He's also a biter. With anton it's more just instinctual actions of affection whilst Viago either does it accidentally or on purpose because he's feeling cheeky.

he often pierces the nipples of his bottles - he's enough of a messy eater when he's big, but the second he's small it's a disaster. Deacon insists on feeding him with those guinea pig bottles with the metal mouthpiece, but it hurts viago's fangs the first try and Vladislav bans it from the house.

He likes to play very intricate games, roping in anyone in the vicinity to join in and help his dollies and barbies and action figures fly around

He's very well behaved - he certainly gets into trouble often but he doesn't mean to. he just needs to be supervised and he's the loveliest little boy ever.

he can get spooked easily, and has spent a good few nights curled up in Deacon's arms upside down and wrapped up with Vladislav after he'd sent all those strange women out of his room.

Vamp teeth do eventually wear down, and Viago is always left teething on rubber rings and Vlad's fingers while his new fangs are growing in.

when the time comes, Anton and Viago do regress together and get the fun sleepover/cousin treatment. Vlad and Deacon help Anton make a little nest to sleep in and let Viago join him for his nap, they get to go out on walks and have to take a bath when they inevitable get all muddy. Feeding Anton is a bit of a struggle for the vamps, who haven't eaten proper food in years, but they get most of it in him with little issue.

Viago is the little brother of the pack and Anton is the teensy baby of the vampire household.

also the others and what I see them as:

Deacon: occasionally regresses, mostly just a cg

Vlad: cg

Nick: tiny

Stu: tiny

everyone in the pack regresses to some degree, the lower in the pack hierarchy the more often and vice versa. it's good for the pack to be able to take care of each other, like a weird group exercise.

I actually have no ideas for what they would call each other like idk who would be the papa they all have such different vibes yk
