Summary: Y/N has known Noah since he became her brother's best friend. Growing up with him and knowing everything about each other let to them also being close friends. But something changes between them when Y/N is moving in with them due to a water damage in her apartment and it all leads to Nick's 30th birthday party.

November 29, 2022 was the day everything changed…

12:34 PM; November 29, 2022

You woke up in the house where your brother and his friends lived. At the moment you kind of lived there due to water damage at your own apartment.

While the other roommates were momentarily out of the house, it was very empty and quiet around here. So it was no problem for you to get the spare bedroom. When you realised your brother was still sleeping, you tip toed down to the kitchen area where you found Jolly, Noah and Folio preparing a cake with candles.

"I think I've never seen you guys be so cute before." you mocked them while eying the cake. It was shaped like a guitar and coloured in black while being decorated with wonky red letters saying „Happy Birthday, Nick!“

You smiled to yourself before going around the kitchen counter and grabbing a bottle of water from the fridge "So, when do we start tonight?" you ask your friends while sitting down on the kitchen counter.

"It depends on how long Jolly and Folio can distract Nick." Noah answers before walking towards you, stepping in between your legs and than grabbing a cup from the shelf above you while looking at you.

"What do you mean 'Jolly and Folio'? What about us?" you ask your brother's best friend while holding his gaze. It wasn’t unusual for you two to be close to each other since you had known Noah for ages considering his friendship with your brother Nick, but since you were living here something had changed. From sleeping in on the couch together while watching anime and waking up in each others arms to him telling you about song ideas that he didn’t tell anyone else about or those small touches you exchanged whenever no one was watching that seemed so innocent but still left you guessing.

When he finally broke your gaze and stepped back to pour himself a cup of coffee, you took a big sip out of your water bottle to drown out your thoughts before anyone noticed your nervousness.

"You two need to prepare the house while Folio and I go equipment shopping with your brother." Jolly explains before you hear a shuffling upstairs, causing you all to become quite and stare at the stairs while gathering around the cake which candles were quickly lit by Jolly. It didn’t take long before your brother wobbled down the stairs and came to a hold when he saw you four standing in front of his cake smiling.

"Happy Birthday, Nick!" you all shout in union while Nick rubbed his eyes and took a couple of tired steps towards you before blowing his candles. "What are you guys planning? You act like fucking robots." he mumbles while Folio cut the cake into small pieces.

"Can't we just be grateful that mom brought you into this world 30 years ago?" you said before hugging him tightly. "Jesus… You making me sound so old. But yeah… Definitely… Even though Folio looks like you stapled that smile onto his fucking face"

The guys quickly changed the subject to not cause any further suspicion before you ate breakfast together. It didn’t take long until the three boys took of, leaving Noah and you alone to decorated the house.

You talked about anything and everything, before you asked Noah to help him hang a "Happy Birthday" sign on the wall.

You were unsuccessfully trying to reach the height the sign was supposed to go on. Before you could argue you felt arms go around your waist and shortly after that you were being lift up. You felt your pulse rise and your eyes widened. "What the fuck are you doing, Noah?" you protested - "Helping you. Now do your job."

You muttered under your breath and tried to concentrate while Noah's arms were wrapped around you. You would lie if you said you didn’t like how close he was to you but at the same time you tried to push away the way it made you feel.

"You know, I actually can’t believe Nick's thirty already. It feels like time flies by so much faster since we formed the band." Noah almost whispered while you try to concentrate on the banner before you and not how soothing his voice sounded to you. "It feels like yesterday when Nick called us to pick him up from that girl’s house because her dad caught them making out." You slightly chuckle at the memory before you signaled Noah to let you down.

"It also feels like yesterday when you called me in the middle of the night because the exact same thing happened to you and you were too proud to call Nick because you made fun of him because of said story." you reminded him while turning around and looking up into his eyes. You would never get used to the fact how tall Noah was in comparison to you. It wasn’t like you were tiny but he still was more or less a head taller than you.

"It’s not like nothing like that never happened to you, Y/N Ruffilo." he noted in a teasing voice and you exactly knew which story he meant. "Noah, you promised we would never talk about that again." - "I promised to never tell your brother that you slept with that skater jerk Michael back at your senior prom and than almost getting pregnant from it."

You remembered it clear as day how Noah drove you to the pharmacy in the early morning hours to get a Plan B and how you cried about not wanting to be a teen mom and how he comforted you by saying he would be there for the child like it was his own.

You also clearly remember your dumb crush on that Michael guy. There was this boy in your and Noah's year that you had a huge crush on since eighth grade. Michael was a skater and in retrospective he definitely wasn’t a good guy, considering his first love were definitely joints but when Noah left school at 15 to pursue his music career there was no one who stopped you from your stupid little crush, considering the fact you didn’t tell your brother because he would have hunted Michael down.

"You know I would kill you if you would even think about telling Nick." you threatened your friend and pointed a finger to his chest. Noah smirked while looking down at your hand, before grabbing the tape from your other hand and leaning to your ear. "As if you could do anything against me."

Shivers went down your spine and your heart began to beat faster while Noah left you standing there in the middle of the living room to go on with decorating. If that wasn’t enough he looked back at you and said "But at least you didn’t lose your virginity to that jerk."

You felt your cheeks burn while thinking about what he was implying. You and Noah being the same age and having such a close friendship at a phase in your live that was purely controlled by hormones, it wasn’t far off that you did in fact lose your virginity to your brother’s best friend. But you both swore that not a soul in the world would ever find out about that and managed to keep it this way to this day.

You tried to push the thoughts of the past away by biting the inside of your cheek. You didn't know what to do. Slowly but surely he was driving you insane and you didn’t even know if he was doing on purpose.

This was the moment you decided that it was best for your own good to try to avoid Noah's presence at the upcoming party. You didn’t want to risk ruining your friendship with him and therefore ruining the bond your brother had with him since ages.

11:19 PM; November 29 2022

Hours later you found yourself on the couch in the corner of the living room while the party for you brother was at its peak. You didn’t really know how many drinks you consumed, considering the fact that you took at least four shots with your brother, but you definitely started to feel the alcohol in your system while you listened to a story Bryan told you about the last tour.

You couldn’t help but think about what happened early. Noah seemingly consumed your mind. You could only think about his hands around your waist or how comfortable you two slipped into this weird situation in your friendship. When you were younger you often cuddled or were close but it all seemed so different lately and you couldn’t wrap your head around why it suddenly felt so different for you. You feared that you were imagining that change.

"I'm sorry, Bryan, but I'm not doing so well." You quickly excused yourself while standing up and making your way upstairs. You didn’t know what had gotten into you but you knew that you needed to clear your head.

You entered the upstairs bathroom, leaving the door open since no one was on this floor and looked at your self through the small mirror. Your cheeks were flushed because of the alcohol you consumed and your eyes were slightly red.

You bent down and splashed a few drops of water in your face when you suddenly heard a voice behind you. "Are you okay?" Noah asked with furrowed eyebrows while placing a hand on your back, instantly sending a wave of chills down your spine.

"Yeah, yeah… Uh… I'm fine just a bit tipsy" you mumbled, drying your face with a towel before turning to face your friend.

Without even realising it you let your gaze wander and looked at Noah more closely. He wore a black turtleneck and black cargo pants, if you didn’t knew better you would say he was about to go on stage. In comparison to him you seemingly looked naked. Only dressed in a lacey black crop top and a skirt that was to short for your own good. But you were at your brother's, one of the places you felt save with wearing anything and everything.

Suddenly he raised his hand and put a strand of her behind your ear. "Do you maybe wanna watch a movie or something? You seem nervous."

You slightly look up to meet his eyes. The eyes of one of your best friends. The eyes of the boy who knew everything about you except your confusing feelings towards him. You took a deep breath and noticed his eyebrows rose for a second, before you nodded. As confused as you were, Noah was still Noah and knew exactly what he needed to do to calm your nerves. So you decided to sneak away from the party and not even an hour later you found yourself showered and in pyjamas sitting in his bed while searching for something to watch while he got ready for your sleepover.

You could still hear the music blast from outside of his room when he came back wearing sweatpants and a worn out band shirt.

"You know what you wanna watch?" Noah asks you while making himself comfortable next to you.

"You will laugh at me." - "Spirited Away?" Bullseye. Over the years Spirited Away became your comfort movie. You remember it clear as day when you first watched the movie with your brother when you were around ten. So when Noah started playing the movie all the memories you had while watching it filled your body and for a second you forgot about the weird things you've been thinking all day while snuggling into Noah's side like you always used to.

"Do you wanna tell me what has gotten into your mind?" he asked carefully when you were halfway through the movie and your heart automatically started to beat faster while you turned to look at each other.

You thought about a way to get out of this situation. You couldn’t just tell him that you had been thinking about it all day how his hands felt on your body. That would have been stupid considering the fact that you were sure you were imagining that whole atmosphere so you decided to just shake your head and look him in the eyes. Your cheeks started to feel warm and him than brushing a strand of hair behind your ear while signaling you to come closer to him didn't exactly help. You obeyed him, knowing full well he didn’t believe you, and slid closer to him until your head found its place in the crook of his neck while his arms slung around you. One around your back and the other one, to your surprise, slightly under your shirt.

"You know you can tell me everything." he said, his voice becoming a bit deeper and raspier while he started drawing circles on the exposed part of your skin. You had a feeling that you would catch fire any moment. You felt like you didn’t have any control over your body anymore. So much to your own surprise you lifted your head slightly and before you knew you placed a couple of soft kisses on this neck before stopping in your tracks and panicking. He had stopped doodling circles on your skin. Instead now he had grabbed your waist a little harsher than normal and let out a sound you last heard when you two were seventeen, a bit too drunk for you own good and definitely more naked than now.

You paused in your actions and waited for his reaction, trying to guess if you officially ruined your longterm friendship for the sake of your own amusement, but than he whispered in your ear "Why did you stop?"

Before you could think Noah turned on his back, pulling you with him so now you were sitting directly on his crotch and could feel him growing harder.

"Do you even realise what you do to me?" he almost moaned in your ear causing you to lose the last bit of clarity in your head and you kiss his neck again, more firmly than you did before.

He let out that noise again that send heavy shivers down your spine and before you could even process what was happening you grinded your hips against his. A wave of pleasure hit you when Noah began to fiddle with your shirt, silently demanding you to take it off, while slightly buckling his hips upwards. So you sat up on him and did as he demanded.

You never thought that you would every be in the position again that Noah Sebastian was looking at you like that. Pupils dilated and that look on his face that made you want to rip of his clothes.

With easiness he turned you two around so he was on top of you and took his turtleneck off, displaying all his tattoos to you that always made you weak and started kissing down your neck, than along your collarbone and eventually landed between your breasts.

"You are so fucking beautiful" he whispers against your skin causing you to moan quietly. "Fuck… Noah." You stutter while he slowly takes one of your nipples into his mouth while massaging the other with one hand. Your hands quickly found their way into his dark hair and when you pulled on it slightly he moaned against your skin.

"N-Noah.." you mumble causing him to look at you "I-…" - "Take your time, Y/N."

You took a deep breath while he stroked your skin around your waist "I need you to touch me"

Never in a million years you thought that you would say those words ever again to Noah but in this moment you needed nothing more than to feel him closer to you.

You again thought for a moment that you overstep an unspoken line because Noah stared at you for a second to long. In the exact moment you wanted to say something again he began kissing down your belly and stopped at the waistband of your panties, looking at you, searching for any kind of regret in your face but the only thing you could think about was his mouth where you needed it the most. So you buckled your hips up a little, signaling him to go on which he did with anticipation.

Noah slowly let the last bit of clothing on you slip down your legs before spreading them with his hands.

I'm just gonna go on a small rant about how the P5 community treats Shutaba and how it's genuinely kinda dumb in a way. It really tires me how when anyone sees a fan who is playing or just discovering Persona 5 for the very first time and realizes the chemistry behind Futaba and Ren (Joker) and ultimatly starts shipping them, gets bashed on by anyone with saying "omg they're literally brother and sister that's gross ew, nasty ass proshipper" It happened to me, I discovered P5 not that that long ago and I tried joining fandom spaces and it was.. hell. So I'm hoping that this could hopefully help someone and maybe stop those toxic people who literally start crying and labeling stuff with extreme terms. First of all, Ren is NOT Sojiro's adopted son. He's more like his protégé, his student in the coffee, curry, café, womanizing (lol), ect spaces. He only "took him in" because he's the only one who said yes to taking in a guy on probation. And I see many many MANY people try to argument against this with parts of the games where characters mention that she's like a little sister. Wanna know the fun part about Persona? You get to CHOOSE if you want Futaba as your silly sister or gremlin girlfriend, OMG amazing right??? And there's even parts where you yourself can make remarks about being family and she'll just be there like: "Are you fr?? Weirdo" I'm not here to bash on anyone who likes them as the coffee/curry sibs, it's not my cup of tea because the fact that they're so touchy and close disturbs me when thinking of them as sibs, but if you like it, go for it! It's cute tbh But just because you see them as sibs, doesn't mean you have the right to call someone a proshipper for liking them as a couple, Futaba deserves to be with the man who saved her life and fans get to do as they please, that's the magic of having freedom and being able to CHOOSE. It now scares me to interact with the fandom because of how many times I've been attacked to the point I just gotta shut off the pc and let the anxiety flood away, I can't even make friends with ppl with the same interest, in the english P5 fandom because of that. Good thing is the spanish speaking Persona community is chill and knows that drama about said ship is honestly stupid. Basically just, let people do as they please, go touch grass and if you don't like the path someone took in game, then just block or don't interact with that thing. IRL you can't block people but online you can, so you shouldn't rage or seeth about it, especially about a game. Saying someone is a proshipper by shipping Shutaba is like saying someone is a criminal and a violent person for playing Fortnite or that horror artists are sick and twisted people just because of their stories. Instead, actually go after those who are problomatic like those who genuinely ship Kotone/FeMC with Ken.

When this whatever shit started we saw a lot of orgs and fellow celebs pull away from chris a lot less birthday wishises publically one of chris reoccuring costars (not scarjo or A.D.A.) had a very heartwarming and touching birrhday with with a few examples of how nice he is. There are also reports thst he lets people use his houses etc. when hes not in town. Now people ahve pulled away from him publically. We all know chris isnt a golden boy but when companies and charities stop working with someone suddenly (many stopped after the first pap walk) despite other issues it to me sayshe was nice enough to want to be associated with before. I think its a fine line of what people will and wont tolerate and yes theres trolls and clout chasers but when ebolas associations and beliefs came out many broke away when a cetain company recived complaints things were dropped we all know a campaign was fropped and they mostly use OBJ and one of the founders dog whose has very VERY similar collerings to dodger. They also seemed to not get the enagwment they wanted on the cintest as it was like they were shoving it down people's throat. I do believe once things are over (whatever the truth is-theres do dobut its toxic otherwise chris wouldnt be looking like he does) there will magically be another campaign.

Now people turn in seb for what a movie that is supposed to be really good? Because hes friend with someone who doesnt look like a typical movie star.

Leave fans and their looks out of it. Be nice. Little miss nazi on the otherhand we finally saw what her soul looks like and I can actually look at these photos without wanting to puke - have no sympathy for nazis and those who hate others like that

;NSR SAYU - General Headcanons

Compilation of headcanons and analysis about Sayu (+ the "Sayu Team") and other related things.

just a heads up! I don't see sayu as an AI even if the wiki lists her as such (the wiki also lists the sayu team as her creators which isnt. true???). to me, she's literally just tila's vtuber rig, so this post won't focus much on sayu as a "person" like the DJSS post!

I do have some in-depth HCs about it and stuff, but yeah! this was just the warning for ppl who don't like this specific portrayal of sayu

All of the marketing related to Sayu is meant to blur the line between fiction and reality.

Okay, okay bear with me for a second! This is gonna be a long one just to explain a single HC.

Sayu is meant to be an obvious homage to digital idols like Hatsune Miku, but whereas Hatsune Miku can be easily described as a voicebank and a very malleable character to play with when creating songs and different versions of her, Sayu doesn't have this advantage within NSR, since she originates from a videogame instead.

This means that while Miku can be a blank slate for people to do as they wish with her, it's harder to do with Sayu because she has an established, solid lore and personality within the game she comes from.

I like to think that, as rock (not just the music genre, but that specific mindset and all the subcultures and aesthetics that came with rock) began to fade out from Vinyl City, it was inevitably overshadowed by the complete opposite - cutesy, colorful and starry-eyed characters.

Doki Doki Mermaid Club was released during this transitional period within Vinyl City, and because it was brand new and so very different from what people knew, it became a hit. Like Kul Fyra, the citizens of Vinyl City became tired and their passion fizzled out. Instead of rock and its mentality of addressing serious issues, speaking against injustice, being loud, brash and so on, people were now drawn to the more chill, soft and pastel vibe this new genre brought.

And I like to think that NSR, specifically Tatiana, noticed that there was a lot of potential within parasocial relationships between idols and fans. But because Sayu was still tied to a game, they had to slowly force her out of it so she could go from "Sayu, from DDMC" to "Sayu, NSR's Megastar", if that makes sense.

This process would include buying the company behind the game and allowing it to simply disappear from the public's memory while Sayu's fame continued on growing. The rest of the characters were used to prop Sayu, as a way to profit from nostalgia, but once they outlived their usefulness, they were forgotten. The same thing that happened to Ex-Jay and all other rock bands prior EDM.

"But why would NSR go so far as buying a company just to let it die?" They canonically did that with smaller companies - in Akusuka, you can interact with Sayu Snacks and this dialogue confirms the lengths NSR is willing to go for success:

MAYDAY: I remember the day they bought over the tiny Vinyl City factory that made these. The mom-and-pop couple was so happy, but I kinda miss the packaging for Sheriff Bob's Barley Shots. ZUKE: Sayu-brand snacks… does Sayu even eat these? She's completely digital, right?

With this context, it makes sense to me that once Sayu established herself as a popular character, NSR would risk it all and hire a bunch of teenagers to ensure she continues being relevant.

This ensures Sayu's existence as an alleged "AI", she's as real as you and she's promoting your favorite snacks! She's cute and she lives in a huge tower where she hosts her concerts! She's Sayu and she loves you and she's also your internet provider! She's real because you can take pictures with her! She's REAL because her influence bleeds into every aspect of Akusuka.

MAYDAY: Hey! It's one of those picture booths I've heard so much about! This one even lets me pretend to take pictures with Sayu! Wait, why would I want that? ZUKE: I heard these things were once all the rage, but now, they've been relegated to only the Akusuka district...I guess we have Sayu to thank for that.

By allowing people to believe in Sayu as a person, NSR also makes sure to protect the identity of the unseen team behind her. It's two birds one stone, really. It's not unlike the way 1010 operates, with Neon J behind it all as a manager. Both of them profit from the exact same thing: allowing fans to obsess over made-up personas.

That's why implying Sayu isn't real is such a taboo within Akusuka - it destroys everything NSR worked so hard to build. But in the end, Sayu is still four people acting and keeping up with the façade because of their love for the character. That's why her mural in Tatiana's office only pictures her without the Sayu Team, unlike 1010's which has Neon J in the dead center.

The idea of turning Sayu into a proper, independent AI in order make better use of assets and resources hasn't been entirely shelved, however. But given Vinyl City's history with AI - that is to say, the fake background memories given to warbots - I think NSR would want to wait a little more to polish that plan before putting it into action, as a fully conscious and independent Sayu wouldn't be able to properly care for a whole district, and having her team of teenagers take the lead in administration would also be pretty fucked up.

And that leads me to my next headcanon!

Similar to Yinu, the Sayu Team has little to no power when it comes to managing Akusuka. They do, however, have full control over Sayu and how she's portrayed.

The reasons are the same as mentioned above - they're too young, lack knowledge and NSR would prefer to be the ones running the whole thing instead from the shadows, etc, etc. It's the same situation as Yinu.

But! To balance things out, though, the Sayu Team was given full creative control over Sayu - her design, her personality, the types of ads she'll be involved with, etc etc. This ensures that Sayu continues being relevant and "hip" with the newer generations, hence her popularity with younger kids and teens. The only reason she hasn't strayed much from her original conception is because all four members are very careful to respect Sayu's roots, being their favorite character and all.

I like to think Remi is the most protective when it comes to Sayu's image, his designs are always in-character for her and all potential collabs/crossovers with other franchises or whatever must go through him first to ensure she doesn't break too much character. I'd even argue that he could be the leader (or at the very least, the much more organized member) of the group, just based on that little moment of him staying calm and planning how to win against B2J while everyone else was panicking.

Tila and Dodo, while they both trust Remi's judgement, believe that broadening their horizons could be fun and better for them on the long run - Tila, as the heart of the group and the voice of Sayu, loves engaging as much as she can with fans, and Dodo just thinks it would be very cool to have Sayu in different media, like fighting games (though it's more of an excuse to show off his motion capture skills).

Sofa and Remi are also the members who care the most about the other mermaids from Doki Doki Mermaid Club. And while Sofa often insists for them to bring them all back somehow, Remi understands that their contract is most likely against it, so he's content just doing fanart for the group.

Since all of them are young and their designs are meant to represent introverted and geeky students, plus taking into consideration their demographic, I could see them use Sayu to speak a lot about important issues like bullying and mental health!

All four members are very close, obviously. But they're also very close to Yinu and her Mama!

This is partially because all adults agree that Yinu should interact with people her age - the thing is, the closest people to her age are the Sayu Team.

I like to think they've become sibling figures to her, and that they're all often lumped together during NSR events. There is also something to be said about Mama and how she just immediately takes the Sayu Team under her wing, since they don't have their parents around 24/7 to support them like Yinu does. Maternal instincts and all.

It's very surprising for citizens of Vinyl City to see Yinu and Sayu doing collabs together, as Sayu is often paired with 1010 due to their similar status as idols, but because of the team's friendship with Yinu, it never feels out of place. The Sayu Team did attempt to keep the myth of Sayu being a real AI, but Yinu was much too perceptive to even fall for it. Besides, she has much more fun composing and coming up with ideas with them than talking to a hologram.

When it comes to their dynamics with other Megastars, I'd say all of them are intimidated by Eve's strong presence - though Remi really looks up to her from an artist's point of view, and Tila admires her confidence. Dodo is a fan of Neon J and practices his dance moves in secret, something that all the other members tease him for. As for Sofa, I can see him asking DJSS about his creative process. The guy runs a club with sick effects, he wants to know how DJSS does it!

All four of them also like 1010, but are in different levels of denial about it, with Dodo openly gushing about his favorite bias (it's Purl-hew, he LOVES Purl-hew) and Remi seething, screaming and crying whenever someone notices that his drawing tablet has 1010 stickers on the back. Sofa and Tila are more in the middle, being casual fans but getting flustered and a little ashamed whenever someone brings it up face to face - they promise they're not like those deranged fans!

You know, like those teens who are into things that the media has deemed cringe and whatnot, so they feel they have to be a liiittle detached and mean about their tastes to avoid being criticized.

Regarding their backgrounds, I like to think that Remi and Tila didn't meet each other face to face until it was time to sign their NSR contract, while Dodo and Sofa went to the same highschool and are childhood friends who made amateur action movies together. It just clicks very nicely to me!

Aspects of the Sayu Team bleed into Sayu and viceversa.

It's small details, like Sayu's dominant hand perhaps being the same as Remi's, or Sayu's casual speech patterns during streams being somewhat similar to Tila's. Maybe her typical gestures are also things that Dodo is known for, and so on. All of it helps make Sayu feel more real to fans.

In turn, there are times in which the Sayu Team find themselves adding Sayu's popular catchphrases into their vocabulary entirely on accident, their wardrobes now full of clothes she would wear. I can also imagine Sofa and Remi having trouble separating their work screens from reality - you know, like when digital artists try to press ctrl+z when doing traditional art. Dodo's is the funniest by far, since he straight up has an idle animation taken from Sayu, but I'd argue that he's a very physical person and needs to be constantly moving somehow. Another contender for funniest slip up is Remi, who will just end up screaming "Pyun!" really loud when excited.

While fans only see the final product, the NSR staff can see all the love and effort that goes into Sayu just by looking at her team! Even Tatiana respects the way they've turned Sayu into their very own personal project, with that initial giddy energy that every content creator feels when starting out and seeing their work pay off.

Should Sayu ever become her own independent AI, I can see every Megastar come together to design a proper body for her.

The Sayu Team are, at the end of the day, a bunch of kids with a dream - their design is the priority, of course, but Neon J and DJSS would be the ones to tweak and work around it, doing their best to ensure proper mobility - both on land and within her streaming hub - and to add all necessary safety equipment. Neon J specifically would be the one to work on her AI, I'd say.

Yinu and Eve would ensure that the aesthetics aren't lost during the building process, finding ways of allowing Sayu to still be recognized by fans but with enough room for changes, should she require them for concerts or events.

I feel like the Sayu Team would prefer for Sayu to only have a single body, instead of endless ones to be replaced like 1010, and they would keep a back-up of her AI in a little pendrive (a nod to Monika from DDLC!). It just makes her feel more real!

And with Sayu being an actual, sentient AI working as a Megastar, I imagine this would pave the way for all the other robots who are fully sentient in Vinyl City to be acknowledged by everyone. So really, it's a win-win!

The Adepti's harsh response was told in a cold tone, his golden eyes glaring back at the calm green haired man who only smiled. "Xiao, I understand that you are an Adepti, you have your own duties to attend to and I respect that, truly I do."

The dark haired Adepti, sitting on top of a tall rock and peering down at him, scoffed at his final sentence. "Then, why task me with something that is none of my concerns? Do not make me repeat myself once more; My awnser is no."

"Simple. You're one of the very few people I trust little Qiqi with, it just so happens that out of everyone, you're currently the only one who's not occupied." Baizhu explained, his gaze upon the mighty Yaksha never faltering.

"Do you simply assume I do not have my own responsibilities to attend to just because I am sitting here?" Xiao asked, as though he was offended. Truth to be told, with how the traveller has been helping around Liyue after Osial's attack, there was little to no trouble brewing any where. It was as if they were a good luck charm that conveniently stumbled into Liyue, dispelling all the evil and filth within.

He simply decided to wander around the bamboo forest, fending off a few Hilichurls here and there. But other than that, he was just as free as a bird.

"Yes." Baizhu awnsered casually, ignoring how his single word awnser only ticked off the dark haired male more. "Now, I know you're only trying to avoid Qiqi herself by trying to intimidate me, but you should already know by now that the same strategy would never work more than once." The green haired doctor stated, after all, this wasn't the first time he had asked Xiao to take care of the little girl.

"Besides, you wouldn't want Qiqi to simply wander off without anyone to take care of her, would you?" The pure white snake chimed in, it's ruby red eyes glistening under the sun.

Xiao looked away, grumbling under his breath when he thought about the same little girl, who he had accidentally killed and later on resurrected, get injured again. Sure, she may be technically immortal, but she's still a child that can get hurt.

"You mortals shouldn't be taking responsibilities if you're just going to rely on someone else to handle them for you... When will you return from Sumeru?" Xiao asked, looking over at the green haired doctor who would be gone for an entire day. Maybe even longer. Just spending a day with a child who he and the other Yakshas brutally murdered on accident.

He has looked after Qiqi quite a few times before, but only for about an hour or so. Spending the entire day with her? He's not sure if he's even up to that task.

"Ah, so is that a 'yes' i'm hearing?" Baizhu asked, only receiving an annoyed expression from the Adepti. "I'll take that as a yes. You can find Qiqi at Bubu Pharmacy tomorrow at 6 in the morning."

It's not even tomorrow yet and he's already regretting the half-assed decision.

[Time skip]

"Welcome to Bubu Pharmacy. I am Qiqi."

Xiao blinked a couple of times, standing at the entrance in confusion for a few seconds before squinting his eyes at the counter. "How may Qiqi help you?"

"Oh." Xiao muttered as he approached the counter, looking over and down to see the same lifeless pink eyes, still full of innocence, staring right back at him. "...Qiqi." The dark haired male greeted rather awkwardly and in an unintentionally cold tone, from what Baizhu had told him, Qiqi wasn't supposed to be working today.

"Sir." Qiqi greeted back in her soft spoken, yet, monotonous voice.

The Adepti sighed, leaning over the counter to pick up the girl as if she were a stuffed bear. He's held her small hands before, even allowing her to sit in his lap, but he was never used to picking her up. If anyone were to pass by, they would assume the Yaksha was trying to steal the child.

"Baizhu has told me that he will be occupied on some expedition to Sumeru for the rest of the day... I will be looking after you in his absence." Xiao stated as he placed her down on the ground, now on the other side of the counter. "As much as i'd like to leave you in the hands of a more... suitable human, it seems... Iaam the only one who can take care of you for the time being."

"But Qiqi needs to work." Qiqi tries to return to her original spot, only to be stopped by the taller male holding his arm out to block her path.

Xiao clicked his tongue, annoyed when she tried to walk around his arm to reach the counter. "You will have another mortal to serve the Pharmacy in your stead, did Baizhu not tell you today was supposed to be your day off?" The Yaksha tried to reassure, reaching out to grab her. "Will you cease your pathet- Stop. I have some important manners to attend to, but I am not allowed to leave you alone. You will be coming with me."

"Qiqi's orders cannot be ignored or cancelled." The purple haired girl said as he lifted her up, though she did not put up much of a fight to escape his grasp.

Though before Xiao could grumble another remark, a pair of footsteps approaching the pharmacy could be heard by the entrance. Dealing with the girl's stubbornness was already starting to annoy him, having to deal with mortals would only fuel the fire. "Leave. Now—"

"Hey! That's no way to greet your old friends!"

His golden eyes widened in shock, seeing 'The Hero of Liyue' and their floating partner now standing right in front of him with a large box in hand.

It was the traveller. The same traveller whom fought by his side against Osial. But what are were doing here? Last he remembered, they were planning to venture off to Inazuma in search of the Electro Archon. Had the traveller succeeded in their mission? And in less than a month too?

Though, at the same time, he'd have expect it to be a piece of cake for them. He knew the traveller was no ordinary mortal.

"Xiao, Qiqi, long time no see." The traveller greeted with a smile.

There's that feeling he felt again. That abnormal feeling swirling around in his chest when he saw that smile, it was just like the time they attended the Lantern Rite festival together. He had been unknowingly craving to see that smile ever since their departure from Liyue.

"...Traveller. Qiqi remembers you." The purple haired girl smiled and offered a wave, to which they returned with an amused chuckle and a wave of their own.

"Xiao, what are you doing?" Paimon asked, wondering why the Adepti was holding up Qiqi like she was a teddy bear.

Xiao cleared his throat and placed Qiqi down, opening his mouth only to have the said girl wander back behind the counter. A sigh left his lips, turning around to fish her over the counter. "Doctor Baizhu is on some kind of expedition to Sumeru, he has chosen me to look after her... Though, I was not given much a choice anyway."

"Oh, that explains it. But... you? Of all people? Why not Zhongli? Or Xiangling?" The floating companion asked, hovering around Xiao who now refused to let Qiqi down until he was done talking to the traveller.

The dark haired male merely shrugged in response, it was none of his buisness to stick his nose into anyone's affairs. "Are you sure you're up to the task? Paimon didn't know you can take care of children."

"Paimon!" The traveller scolded, gently tugging her small legs downwards.

"Hey! Don't pull on Paimon's leg!" The floating fairy whined, stomping her legs mid air like a child having a tantrum.

"I don't blame you for having that thought process of me. I only accepted because—... I had... nothing better to do." Xiao hesitantly said, thought it was mostly true, anyways. "It's a surprise to see you here back so soon, traveller. What brings you here?"

"Well, I recently returned from a trip to Sumeru's desert." The traveller held up the box in their hand, opening the lid to reveal several bottles inside. "And I found a lot of coconuts! So I made some coconut milk!"

The dark haired boy looked up at them with a confused and unamused expression. They came back from a journey... with an entire box of coconut milk.

However, Qiqi's pink eyes sparkled upon seeing the bottles. "You brought back cocomilk?"

The traveller snickered, every time someone (specifically the zombie child) mentioned anything related to 'Cocomilk', they can't help but remember wasting their time searching for something that didn't exist.

"Yes, Qiqi. A whole box of Cocomilk just for you." The Traveller said as they placed the box down and fetched a bottle, handing it over to the girl who happily took it.

Opening the lid, Qiqi took a sip of the liquid, her smile growing slightly bigger than usual. "Thank you, Traveller. Qiqi loves it."

"Glad you like it, Qiqi. I don't mind getting you more when I return to Sumeru." The traveller stated. For an odd reason, Xiao furrowed his brows in confusion at her last statement.

Return to Sumeru? But didn't they just arrived in Liyue? And now they're leaving so soon after giving Qiqi a box of her favorite drink? Was that the actual reasom why you're back? What about him??

"You're returning to Sumeru so soon?" Xiao blurted out on accident, his golden eyes that were normall cold and unfazed now showing a bit of sorrow. Why was he upset with the thought of them leaving so... upsetting?

He didn't remember being this upset when they left to Inazuma. Sure, the whole time he was wondering if they were safe, debating on whether or not he should check in on them, but he also knows how capable they are in combat.

Still, that dreadful feeling of wondering 'When would they return?' continued to linger in his mind every night.

"Well... Paimon and I still have a few... unfinished buisness. But, ah, if you'd like... We could stay here a little while longer." The traveller stated, rubbing their forearm shyly while averting their gaze away from the Adepti.

'If you'd like.' Does the traveller possess something more powerful than just the ability to control elemental power without a vision? He was feeling something warm grow in his cheeks, his chest tightening as though they created a vine that constricted his heart.

Would they really put their journey on pause just to spend some time with him? Why was he enjoying their company more than anyone else? And why was he desperately craving it?

"Traveller, you're staying?" Qiqi asked, her bottle of cocomilk now empty and her pink eyes suddenly shining in what looks like excitement.

"Uh—" "Qiqi wants to show you something... But, Qiqi still has orders." The purple haired girl looked over at the counter, blinking slowly but still stuck in Xiao's arms.

"Where's the other mortal that was supposed to take her place?" Xiao grumbled in annoyance, glancing at the entrance in hopes of seeing the said person. Unfortunately, they weren't there.

"Is it supposed to be Qiqi's day off or something today? And Paimon's pretty sure you can cancel Qiqi's orders." Paimon reminded.

The traveller chuckled, taking her out of Xiao's arms who didn't even try to take her back. "There is. If I recall, all I have to do is hug you with 'a lot of sincerity', right?" Without waiting for her to awnser, the traveller gave the girl a loving hug.

Qiqi immediately wrapped her small arms around the traveller, happily snuggling into their warm embrace. "There. So, will you listen to what Xiao says, now?" The traveller asked softly, patting the child on the back of her head.

"...Ok, Qiqi will listen to you." The child spoke as the traveller released her from their hug.

"How did you know how to...?" Xiao didn't finish his sentence as Qiqi went up to his side, from your point of view, he looked like a confused father taking care of his innocent daughter.

Meanwhile, Paimon couldn't help but see a pair of parents happily enjoying their time with their daughter.

"It seems you know more about her then I do." Xiao muttered, hesitantly looking at the traveller in their eyes. "Perhaps... that's what I admire the most about you. Your understanding with others."

The Traveller's eyes widened, staring at Xiao who was blatantly unaware of what he had said. The Adepti only stared back with a blank expression, raising an eyebrow when the traveller attempted to open their mouth to say something, only to stumble over their words.

"Qiqi still wants to show you something, traveller." Suddenly, she ran out of the pharmacy without a warning.

"AHH! QIQI!! DON'T JUST RUN OFF LIKE THAT!!" Paimon squeaked, chasing after the surprisingly fast child as fast as she could with both Xiao and the traveller trying to catch up to them.

The location was a little far from Liyue Harbor, leaving Yujing Terrace and entering a forest. Wild boars and squirrels scattered away, allowing Qiqi to continue running without any interruptions.

While Paimon continues to frantically call for the child to stop, the traveller was panting harder than Xiao as their energy slowly began draining. "...Traveller?" Xiao called as the traveller began slowing down, trying their best to not collapse.

"Haha... I haven't... ran this much since that one time in Mondstat." The traveller let out a breathy and weak laugh, their back hunched over with hands on their knees. "...Guess i'm getting out of shape, huh?"

Looking over at Xiao, they notice him staring at them with a blank look on their face. Embarrassed about looking weak in front of him, the traveller sucked in a breath and got back up. "Ahaha... Sorry about that... I've just been travelling non-stop when I got to Sumeru. I'm alright. Come one, let's get going."

"You shouldn't try to push yourself over the limit. If you're tired, allow me to assist you." "Eh?— AHHH!! XIAO!?"

Without even giving them a warning, the unsurprisingly strong Adepti had swooped them off their feet, a hand in between the back of their tighs and knees while the other held their back. The traveller instinctively wrapped their arms around his neck, unintentionally getting closer to his chest.

"What's the matter? Are you not tired?" Xiao asked nonchalantly, to which the traveller only gave him a confused glare.

"I— No– I-I mean, yes!- Uhh... b-but you didn't have to carry me like this!" The traveller reprimanded, though, they weren't flailing around anymore and was now resting in his arms without struggle.

"Don't you mortals like to be carried this way by the ones you admire the most?... Or is it the other way around? To be carried by someone who admires you the most?..." The traveller swore their faces could explode in embarrasment soon, looking away just to avoid his curious and perplexed eyes that held innocence. How could such a dangerous and powerful Adepti like himself seem so oblivious, yet, innocent at the same time?

He has seen several humans carry eachother like this who seemingly adored being held in the same why, so why was the traveller's reaction the complete opposite of what he expected?

Fiddling with the hem of their upper clothing, they mentally tried to form words in their head to complete a proper sentence, but was interrupted when Xiao began moving.

Now, they were somewhat alone together. The traveller resting in Xiao's arms as he slowly continued to follow the faint high-pitched yelling that could still be heard from a large distance.

The atmosphere felt thick, but at the same time, quite comfortable, complete silence between them during the entire walk. It was like a dream for the traveller, being held in his arms as they gazed up to see him being bathed in sunlight from above the trees peering through the leaves. He looked absolutely breathtaking.

Without even realizing, they were now fully staring at him. And he couldn't help but grow flustered from the pair of eyes that held admiration stare at him.

The wind breezed across the traveller's skin, their eyelids growing slightly heavy. Being held like this by Xiao... they've never felt this safe before.

And before they knew it, their eyes ceased to remain opened.

"..."

Hearing the light snores, Xiao stopped moving and looked down at the traveller, sound asleep in his arms. His golden eyes trained on them, admiring how peaceful they looked in their sleep, as if they hadn't had a good rest in decades.

Perhaps their journey has been taking a toll on them without them noticing.

Xiao had completely forgot about why they were in the forest now, his attention and focus entirely on the sleeping traveller. '...I shouldn't wake you up. Not after what you've possibly been through lately.'

Walking over to a nearby tree, the dark haired male sat down underneath the shade that blocked the sunlight, allowing the traveller to rest their head on his chest. He continued to hold them as if they were made out of fragile glass, afraid of letting them go and shattering them into pieces.

"To see you go through such great lengths searching for your kin... I envy you. Your determination, bravery and strength... How you continue onward, without letting anyone stop you, all for someone who you hold dearest to you. Perhaps... that's what drew me towards you in the first place." Xiao raised his hand up, hovering it in the air for a second with hesitation before gently carresing their face.

His chest swirled with the same emotion he felt back at the Lantern Rite festival. The joyous smile they held on their faces as the golden light from the sea of lanterns framed their face perfectly, an absolute masterpiece in his eyes."What do you humans call this?... Romance? Love?... That must be the correct word. I wonder how you would react when you're having that emotion, and would it be directed towards me?"

As if they heard his words, their lips turned upwards, snuggling closer to his chest. Though asleep, they could hear the sound of his heartbeat. The rhythm acting as a lullaby for them to fall into a deep slumber they hadn't experienced in a long time. Perhaps one day... He could tell them the true reason about why his heart beats only for them.

"...One day, I hope I will be held close to your heart too."

William is at the diner A LOT yeah? So say bunny’s last class happens to get canceled. It’s the middle of the week, and they still has a couple days before the weekend. But they miss him! So what else is there to do besides pay the “famous” diner a visit.

It was a surprising slow day, and maybe you even meet henry, who calls willy over. Then henry the unintentional matchmaker has to leave to do something idk, and leaves you and Willy alone together because the next shift worker hadn’t arrived yet. So peepaw shows you the back, and his office. And he just looks so good today, and he smells just so intoxicating, and you just need him! he takes his little bunny, places them on his desk, and has his way with them. How could he resist when you ask him so sweetly?

Idea 2

Maybe this is just me, but I could absolutely see bunny working at like a retro 50s inspired diner thing, where all the waitstaff wear skates, and they have those adorable uniforms. Imagine if Willy found this out, either by eating there or you mentioning it, and he sees his bunny wearing that uniform and it looks DELECTABLE on them. And now he NEEDS a taste.

honestly i think seeing his bunny in like ANY type of uniform would get Will going. I can also see a scenario in which he totally finds out about your little job totally by accident

like because he shares the CEO position with Henry in their businesses, they often get ppl that invite them out to lunch to try and butter them up and sell them something or get them to sell part of the franchise. One day during the middle of the week where will doesn't get to see you normally, missing his lil rabbit like always, he and Henry get invited out to some cheap diner at the other end of town themed like the 50s

Will isnt very impressed by this and neither is Henry, but they decide to go anyway because the other ppl might have smth interesting to offer them. The diner was kinda slow anyway, so why not?

but oh my GOD?? imagine Will's surprise when he sits down with the group of men, and none other than his sweet little bunny comes out in such an adorable little outfit to take everyone's order. William has to try and remain professional, and act like he's never met you before, but damn it's hard. It gets really hot in that diner really quickly, and very uncomfortable to sit down. He can see you trying to save-face too, acting like you don't know him and aren't embarrassed to have your job ousted like this. But it only adds to Will's excitement.

Why would you hide something like this from him, bunny? There's nothing to be embarrassed of.

He can only hope you get the hint when he gives you a look before excusing himself to the bathroom.

(maybe try to convince him to stop his drinking problem)

WHAT'S CATRIONA'S BACKSTORY?? (love her name btw)

so basically Catriona had a pretty normal childhood until she was 11. she grew up with her mother and father (for now unnamed) and her younger sister Francis in idk some city in Scotland (haven’t decided which). she and her sister were pretty close considering their 4 year age gap and even lowkey shared a few friends (Catriona’s friends considering Francis a cute kid they could let play minecraft with them or smthn and Francis’s friends considering Catriona a cool big kid who was really good at hide and seek or smthn). but when Catriona was 11 and Francis was 7 their parents got in a car accident and both died. it was traumatic as hell for both of them (obviously) but what was worse was due to them having no family able to take care of them (their dad was abandoned at birth and bounced around the foster care system until he was 18 + their mother was an only child who’s dad had died some time before this and her mother being unable to care for 2 kids) and none of their friend’s families being able to take the both of them they ended up getting separated. Catriona doesn’t know where Francis ended up, she hoped one of her friends’ parents had adopted her or something but she (Catriona) ended up in foster care. she went around a couple homes until she was placed long term with this one family. they were a man and woman in their late 40s with 3 bio kids of their own (a boy a few years older than Catriona named Jacob, a girl her age named Erin, and a boy a year younger than Francis named Harris) and a few other foster kids. The other foster kids (along with the boys) mostly ignored her, Erin seemed to have some sort of personal thing against her, and the foster parents were pretty abusive (to all of the kids but particularly the foster ones). as well as all that the foster parents clearly weren’t equipped to take care of her, given that whenever she (or the other autistic kid there bcz yes do u rlly except me to make an allistic character?) would get overwhelmed or have a meltdown they’d treat it as a tantrum and punish her for it. they also didn’t know how to deal with her hair type (like 3c i think) and just pressured her into straightening it so it would be “easier to deal with”. they were also quite religious (protestant christian) and didn’t care that Catriona wasn’t raised religious and “didn’t really believe in it” and forced her to go anyway (they were also pretty homophobic bcz those kinda ppl typically are which was kinda a problem cause Catriona’s lesbian and very much didn’t wanna have to deal with the fallout if they found out).

one time when she was 14, Erin ended up destroying one of the last remaining memories of her family, a photo of them the day Francis started primary school, with Erin’s mother saying that “it was an accident” and “just a photo” and got rlly mad at her for “being dramatic” over it. so that night Catriona as quietly as possible packed everything she owned could fit into her school bag and took all the money in the house she could find that didn’t belong to the other foster kids. (couple hundred pounds) and left. taking a train to somewhere. somewhere that wasn’t there.

and yeah i haven’t figured out exactly how she meets everyone else and finds the place they live and the order everything happens in nd allat but i’ll figure it out soon c:

fives x min is definitely the sunshine character x grumpy character trope on the surface where fives is of course sunshine and i am the grump. irl, i come off as very intimidating and grumpy and have resting 'ill murder you face' and i tend to be drawn to people who are outwardly the opposite. HOWEVER, on the inside and around ppl im comfortable with, im much more like how i present myself online. and i believe that fives when he's around someone he's comfortable with would allow himself to be more serious and contemplative in addition to being his goofy, lovable, talkative self

i think that if i met fives, our first interaction wouldn't be amazing. potentially i would come off as cold and i think that fives would take that as a challenge to get me to open up. and eventually it would work bc i am not immune to goofballs. in fact i would say i specifically love goofballs so much that im instantly drawn to them even if i try to hide it. eventually we'd become friends and one thing would lead to another and we'd realize "shit i love this idiot" and since im a firm believer that fives once he knows what he wants will do whatever it takes to get it (im also like that) there wouldnt be any pining or drawn out will they wont they. it would just be 'hey i like you' 'cool me too' 'nice' and that's that

i believe that fives is a really good communicator and is incredibly in touch with his feelings (or at least if he's feeling confused would want to sit down and talk through his feelings) and those are both really incredible traits to find in a partner. communication imo is key for a long lasting relationship. i think we would have arguments of course bc every relationship has those but at the end of the day we would never go to bed angry at each other.

i think fives would be the best partner (i have many thoughts about this like thousands of words of thoughts) and would bring out the best in me. he would help me open up and relax and laugh at life when i feel like i cant. and i think i would ground him and be someone he draws strength and comfort from. im personally an acts of service love language girlie (both giving and receiving love) and i think fives would love to do things for the person he loves but he would personally value physical touch and words of affirmation as ways of receiving love

i think we would be best friends and value our friendship as much as our romantic relationship. i think we'd do so many things together from something as mundane as going to the grocery store to going to concert together to planning trips together so that we can experience the world (galaxy?) together. i think i'd teach him how to cook and he would learn to bake and we'd bond over food. but just as much as we would do things together, i think we would be comfortable and happy having space for ourselves.

if this is irl, i think fives' hobbies would include learning how to play an instrument (personally i think he'd like to learn how to play the guitar) and he'd like to go hiking and take pictures of nature and document things he finds in nature in a journal (like little sketches of plants and animals). i think he and echo would go whitewater rafting and backpacking. and as i already mentioned i think fives would get really into baking.

if this is star wars universe and we're in a post war galaxy where clones have recognized rights and are free to live their life as citizens of the republic (bc i want to be happy this am) i think fives would still love baking, but i think his post war job could be a couple of things. he could go to school and study ecology and either become a teacher ( i think he would be a great teacher sOBS) or would become a scientist that goes to different planets to documents and study different species of flora.

we wouldn't get married in any traditional sense. but we would be together for 50+ years as i said and get sappier and more silly as life goes on aND YEAH

actually another couple things i just wanna Briefly touch on without getting too much into it because it's more nuanced than i have the braincells for rn but

people get so mad about taiv*n not being as popular as other fanon ships and they act like it SHOULD be the most popular because it's canon when.....

although i do think there could be some racism to that in some cases where people don't see it as a viable ship because it's not cute white girls uwu................

i do have to ask if these people know it's like, 2023 right now. it's not 2005. we don't have to just beg for scraps and accept whatever queer rep we're given. we're allowed to have actual choice, we're allowed to get into shows for reasons BESIDES THE QUEER REP and fall for whatever ships actually appeal to us within that regardless of if they're gay or not. i def encourage ppl to challenge why that ship might not apply to them but.... idk, i think in most cases it's not that deep? you're not going to ship every m/f ship in a show if you're someone who likes m/f. you might love the non-canon ones even more, as might the rest of a fandom. we're not really at a point societally where everyone's equal obvs but in terms of media we have enough to choose from now where we can say "this doesn't interest me enough to write fics about actually."

AND if it's canon, there is inherently less to write fics about because you're already being hand-fed their story. stop using ao3 stats as a means to complain about other fans not playing with the characters like you want them to.

secondly!!!! i have seen people get kinda mad that there's more backlash against nat's death than javi's or other characters of color and i actually do agree with that.

tho i do kinda wanna expand on that a bit because i think it's due to two particular reasons, at least on the surface:

in yj so many more mains are white, we're going to get more to latch onto with them unfortunately. so one piece is that nat was an easy fan favorite.

a lot of us would be devastated about nat, but if it weren't for the execution of it being so poor and for the discourse around it to be so toxic, we would've just.... moved on? so the other piece is that there's contention around her death and how it played out.

i hate to say it but i don't think a lot of the non-white characters hit on the first point as an ironic result of embodying the second point, being sidelined by the narrative and treated as so expendable. we barely got to know crystal before her very undignified death to push misty's story forward, javi disappeared and barely spoke before dying for a white girl, and adult travis died to advance the plot right at the start of the show. that's..... not great compared to what's happened to white characters so far. the characters weren't given as much depth for the messy execution to be at the forefront of our minds.

however..... just because we may not have been pushed to love the characters within the show, racist writing outside the show should take priority in our concerns as fans over just... bad writing in nat's case. (i have seen some ableism claims as well, tho i don't know if i agree with those so i'm not really counting it rn).

so while i understand why there's less discussion about the non-white characters' treatment--ie, less care for the character themself as a foundation, therefore we aren't caring about the execution of their death--the fact the show is prioritizing white characters is the whole issue and That is a very clear thing we could be talking about more. instead of it being "i care about this character" as the catalyst for caring about their deaths being done badly, their badly done deaths should be the catalyst for us recognizing how badly they've been treated throughout the show.

with yj in particular it's weird because as white fans we don't need to think about that and if we don't need to think about that then we're not going to because the world is already depressing enough etc etc etc. that's already not great, but why it's so weird with yj is that it kinda presents itself as progressive? so no we shouldn't need a reason to care, but in this case we do have far more reason to hold it accountable than just shrugging it off like "oh well that's the norm!" if that makes sense.

idk i def need to pay more attention to what fans of color are saying about it and reblog those posts etc in addition to what's already on my mind with the show, because i might not really give those issues as much weight. so i'm part of the problem as well--i've just been thinking about it a lot the more i see about nat's death and the less i see about anything else.

watching:

21 days theory - i picked this one up bc it was there and i have time to fill while i’m off work and it was enemies to lovers so… gotta say so far im not hating it and i think the leads are cute, i just don’t care for any of this side character straightness i feel happening, hoping there’s less of that going forwards

even sun - still haven’t finished this bc what even is this show. it’s just such a weird watch and i still am not fully sure what’s going on but hey bounprem are on screen and doing stuff??? i guess???? but if this was to tide me over until between us, it didn’t work

his man - this i didn’t expect to get into bc im not normally a reality tv fan but man am i invested. something about how shy and almost awkward they all are around each other and now slowly becoming more comfortable and getting closer, it’s just so fun to watch and i cant stop my stupid grin the whole time. also changyu supremacy

mama gogo - this is one of the first non-bl gmmtv shows I’ve followed week to week and omg am i glad I have. It’s just so much fun, the characters and their storylines are fun and interesting, the dancing is cheesy but you can tell they’re just having the best time and i have cried at multiple eps. just so much heart in such a fun series, i love it here

merry queer - very behind on this but it’s an interesting watch and i just wanna support what it’s doing. but also hani

minato shouji coin laundry - oh my beloved. this show has wormed its way into my heart and set up shop there. i might just be a little bit obsessed with shin and his bold, forthright flirting and how he can go from so confident and driven to so hurt and in need of love and attention. and i think the story they’re telling is very interesting, esp with minato and how he shows this post-high school queer experience that we rarely ever see, and how those experiences affect you going into adulthood. plus it’s just cute and soft and the vibes are so welcome, it’s a show i wanna snuggle

the eclipse - what else needs to be said. confident rebel gay meets uptight golden-boy gay panic in a enemies to lovers plot shrouded in supernatural mystery and system oppression. sign me the fuck up. can’t wait to see first and khao act their asses off and have their moment to shine.

vice versa - whenever im watching this show im just having the best time and that’s what i love. jimmy and sea are just the most adorable pair to watch and the series has such lovely styling and cinematography and a vibe that’s so considered and adds to the atmosphere and story so much that i can’t not be in love with it. and im so ready to dive deeper into what this story is gonna give us

war of Y - this is kind of messy but it’s too early for me to tell if it’s in a good or bad way yknow?? i didn’t watch scoy nor do i know much about it but the mains seem to have good chemistry, but also we’ve kind of just been thrown in to this world where stuff is happening and it’s kind of hard to understand what everyone’s deal is, esp when you can’t read any of the texts and such

extraordinary attorney woo - back in kdrama land! watched ep 1 a couple of days ago bc my sister wants my mom to watch it and it was cute, so yay for a good family watch

bad buddy - i can’t believe we’ve made it to this point, but both my sisters only have ep 12 to watch now and then the big bad buddy rewatch and experience for them is over. it’s been so much fun sharing this with ppl and reliving everything I felt for those 12 weeks through them again. god i miss it so much and this show will never not impress and move and amaze me, you wonderful creature

my only 12% - this was a cute surprise actually. i have no clue where the story is going bc I’ve gone in blind but santaearth have a fantastic dynamic and act so naturally with each other that it’s just fun to watch even when nothing is really happening.

starting soon:

the only thing i’ll be starting soon is whatever i try to get my sisters to watch after bad buddy. the current candidates are probably blueming, to my star and maybe kinnporsche if i can handle watching that content with someone else (but my sisters are both smut fic writers, it’s water off a fucks back to them) but any recs or votes are welcome lol
