Yknow what's amazing?? The way Kanata is portrayed as being very blunt and "mean" but a very emotional and human at the same time. You see, most mean-coded characters are made to appear emotionless and without empathy. But Kanata... He's different. He's really emotional in every way; He cries pretty often when facing conflict with someone close (nayuta lmao), if he's happy he's very smiley and laughs a lot, but is also irritated easily and isn't afraid of showing it. Keyword being "not afraid of showing (emotions)". It may appear small and silly but it means so much to me. It's like they're telling you emotions don't make you weak, but make you stronger. It's amazing how they make Kanata a very relatable character by making him not feel like a character, but a person. Kanata's humanity can be seen a lot through the fake Nayu, an illusion he himself created. As Phantommetals are linked to the soul, some of Kana's real feelings and thoughts stored in his subconscious materialized in fake Nayu, making him say some stuff Kanata definitely didn't want to hear (like the illusion saying he should move on from actual Nayu). When the illusion confronts Kanata he gets very mad and sad and a mix of everything, basically an emotional mess. This is also a pretty good showcase of how humans deny their real feelings and inner struggles in order to "be happier", but that's just another way of making us miserable when too many problems pile up and come to get us. It's just, taken way too literally with Kanata's subconscious (fake Nayu) literally having arguments with him and trying to convince him to better his life, with Kanata denying it to death cause he's stubborn and doesn't want to let go of his past. A past when he was happier. After some self work and the help of (actual) Nayu, he's slowly getting back on track from those depressive episodes with the illusion. He doesn't have eyebags anymore and seems way happier, thus showcasing a satisfactory growth in him. With some help he's been able to better his life step by step, even if there's still a long way to go, you have to start somewhere. This whole sequence just tells you the writing for Kanata is amazing. For me, he's the most genuine character I've ever found in fiction so far. A guy full of emotions, attitude, regret, stubbornness, trauma and inner struggles trying to be better and learn more day by day, just like us people. It frustrates me how some people overlook this amazing character by reducing him to "a tsundere". Sure, Kanata isn't someone who trusts others easily after a traumatic childhood, and isn't buddy-buddy with most people (allen sugasano) which makes him fit the tsun trope, but some of you are getting too comfortable completely dismissing his incredible writing and genuineness by just calling him the tsundere one. I agree he fits the trope and don't care if you call him whatever, just don't forget he's so, so much more than that. Thanks for coming to my ted talk.

i think when they try to be like "Yknow we r a family lets be Normal right" (said through gritted teeth) and they eat together Once for a holiday or something, maybe mark grills some burgers but theyre overcooked and the lettuce definitely is too chewey but its probably fine and they just sit there.

Mark asks about school maybe once and his voice is a little strained but ashe just says Im passing while REALLY wishing she could grab the musturd and ketchup and make a smiley face with it like in the cartoons, but she doesnt bc shes scared mark will find it immature or something so she keeps it to herself. I think mark keeps getting food stuck on his facial hair and cursing loudly while ashe takes photos from under the table. i think he notices but lets her off the hook.

they dont talk for the rest of the time and they both lose their appetites to silence. mark leaves first for "work" but he doesnt leave the house and ashe waits 5 minutes exactly until she leaves to make sure it wont set him off into an angry ramble he doesnt mean (she doesnt know why itd do that but u can never be too careful. probably)

she deletes the photos off her phone before she goes to bed

he texts her days later and says they arent doing it again

365 days later its the same thing. i think theyre at least reliable enough on their habits to know that

(even if I hardly believe that robots of 40 meters can possibly be eco-friendly, but y’know, it’s the thought that counts)

-see and saw are actually covered by fur. What sparked this is how they look during the high jumps, which also makes me think of another headcanon 

-when they are excited their fur stands up.

Smile was REALLY good

It hit me in a similar way to Sinister, there are so many moments where i can see where things are going, and then i’m just filled with dread and helplessness because all i can do is watch it play out.

The score was wonderful. It reminded me a lot of games like Yume Nikki and WELCOME HOME (and WH 2).

background details and shot composition were very clever. there’s one in particular that i’ll get into under the cut, along with other shit.

SPOILERS AHEAD

ok the shot that really hit me and i loved was with Rose talking to the prisoner (i forgot his name). The perfect symmetry. The visual metaphor was so fucking satisfying. And yknow, a dozen other things. Her smiley-face mug the day after the initial incident. The “last chance” magazine in the foreground when she leaves for the old house!!! It’s so good!!!

and FUCK, the “monstrosity” as it’s called in the credits. That shot where it reveals itself just goes on a fraction of a second TOO long, it lingers just long enough that it really, really sinks in what you’re seeing (THE MULTIPLE ROWS OF TEETH!). In that way, it reminds me of the cave scene in The Taking Of Deborah Logan. It takes you a second to fully process, and it gives you just enough time before cutting away. Just, perfect. I loved it. My face was all twisted up in horror, it was great.

And the not-ending and then the real ending, fuck!!!!!! The second i saw the lantern, I immediately thought “fuck, she’s gonna burn herself.” I figured out exactly how it was going to happen, that Joel would find out where Rose is (probably through Holly, who knew about the house), and he’d arrive just in time to watch her kill herself. I thought the movie was fading to black and ENDING after Joel said “I’ll be with you forever.” And honestly, that would have been a perfectly satisfying, creepy ending all on its own. But I really love the fakeout too!

The whole “is it mental illness or is it real” story type IS starting to get a little old at this point, but I think Smile was a great entry in the genre. And I have to give it credit for actually tackling things like stigma within and around mental healthcare, both the patients and the doctors, the accessibility of care, the cycle of trauma, etc. In the end, it’s not about whether it’s about a monster or not, it’s about whether it’s about a single case of psychosis, or about a physical metaphor for trauma as a whole.

Wonderful movie, really glad I saw it in theaters instead of waiting to watch it on a tiny computer screen like I’ll probably end up doing with Barbarian (unfortunately).

so when I was younger and went into those McDonald's play places that were like kinda big I manged to like. get on the inside inside. sitting on the slide behind the plastic mesh wall inside, and being dumb and tiny I'd get scared as hell and be trapped there for like a good hour until I got noticed,

Sticky Situation

Being adventurous usually never got you into good situations. In fact, it happened to always get you in trouble or spots you didn’t know how to get out of.

As curious as you were about certain spots in the playhouses, you really should’ve listened to advice from the daycare attendant and the kids who have faced the same fate as you did now.

Stuck between a plastic colorful playhouse wall and a mesh walling to keep kids out but not have them hurt themselves. You were in a pretty sticky situation and spot, curled up with your knees to your chest and your chin resting on your knees as you sighed.

The sound of the overhead speakers playing the daycare theme drowning out into a sort of background noise as you hummed along, swaying slightly as you waited. Waited for who? You weren’t quite sure yet.

You could try to get out, but you didn’t want to risk getting stuck again and in a harder area than before, at least you were somewhat comfortable where you sat now. You could only hope someone, anyone would find you.

You traced your fingers over the plastic walling of the playhouse you had actually fallen out of and what got you in this predicament. The big stars and smiley faces painted on the wall were shapes you ran your fingers over to keep yourself from getting any more bored as you waited helplessly, and then your breath hitched in your throat. Tensing up as the sound of the lights going out and generators powering off, the distant sound of bells jingling as he walked around and you could faintly hear a cackle from him.

Did he know you were here? Probably not, he was looking for any other kids who had yet to leave to go home for the day. So you released a breath and relaxed again, tracing where you thought the stars were on the walling but it was too dark to see.

”I can hear you.” He singsonged, giggling as he sprung up on a roof of one of the many play structures, looking around for where the noise came from.

You almost screamed when the structure you were just tracing your fingers along shook with the force of his landing, you could see the faint glow of his red eyes.

Now you didn’t know if it was best to wait it out or call for his help, he liked you but if he knew you were here during night time and not asleep, let alone stuck in a place you shouldn’t have even gone to in the first place, you didn’t know if he’d scold you for an hour or drag you out and make you sleep.

”You’re awful at hiding.” He sighs with annoyance, and you finally look up at the animatronic hanging above you staring down right into your eyes.

”I wasn’t hiding..” “Then what were you doing?” He’s quick to cut you off, hissing out his question before grumbling to himself as he lends a hand out to you.

Hesitantly you look up at his face and then back down at the hand, to which he grows impatient and growls, “Grab my hand. Hurry up, hurry up!”

He pulls you up out of the place you were trapped in, holding you securely against himself as he dropped to the ground in the open area of the daycare, where you should have been instead of some small crack between the structures.

You smile at him even though you can’t see anything but the glow of his red eyes as he mumbles under his breath.

“Thank you, Moony.” You giggle, playing with your fingers as you look up at the animatronic that towers over you.

”You’re welcome, Starlight.” He sighs, metal squeaking as his shoulders relax before he’s grabbing your wrist and dragging you off in a direction.

”Where are we going?“ “To the entrance of the daycare.” He sounds tired, done with your shit as he tugs you behind himself and his bells jingle with each quiet step he takes.

You don’t want to leave though, feeling much more comfortable staying here than going out there. It wouldn’t hurt to stay one night right?

”Moon, I don’t wanna go.” You dig your heels into the plush ground of the daycare but you’re still moving forward, sliding across the floor as he continues walking.

”Well, you’re going. Naughty people aren’t allowed in the daycare.” He pulls you forward and you stumble over your feet, the sound of the door being pushed open as light from outside leaks into the dark daycare.

You squint at the bright open room where the daycare theme plays loudly, benches pushed against walls where parents or guardians would sit while their children are in the daycare.

”Moon, don’t make me go home.” You plead, shoved outside of the dark daycare as he blocks the entrance, arms crossed as he stares down at you.

”And why is that? You were bad, you’re temporarily kicked out of the daycare.” He states, he deals with enough kids that do things to make his job harder, he’s not going to let you get away with it no matter how big of a soft spot he has for you.

“I wanted to stay though. I didn’t mean to fall back there..” You mumble, pouting as you look down at your feet and Moon sighs mentally cursing himself for caving as a hand comes up to his face and he fights back the urge to pull out hair if he had any.

”If you stay, you’re sleeping.” He hisses, leading you back into the room after you cheer for a moment and closing the door behind himself.

He had a feeling you’d find another way to get somewhere you weren’t allowed, especially when you mentioned grabbing blankets yourself in the complete darkness of the daycare.

He wouldn’t be too far behind though. He’s grabbed a pillow and is searching for you in the direction he saw you run down when he hears a thud and metal clinking, followed by a “Moon! Help— ow..”.

He’ll grumble to himself as he stomps over to where you are, but he can’t help the gentle touch he gives you as he lifts you up out of another tough spot again and checks for any injuries.

He cares about you, just don’t push his buttons again with your childish games.

okay so lemme start with how draken acts normal around his crush

so trying to connect that he probably has feelings for you would be a hard sketch (he plans on keeping it that way too)

so that means he doesn't give you any special treatment or that his glances don't linger too long for anyone to get the idea

except maybe for mikey (the bane of draken's existence to having his crush secret)

would settle with only having to interact with you once every schoolday if it means having his crush kept a secret

if you ever do catch him staring he wouldn't mind (??) or like play it off as a coincidence that you both caught each other's gazes

would probably shrug and look away or raise his brow as a form of greeting before looking away

acts nonchalant about it but damn hell was it a close call

has mikey teasing him in the back

boi aint having none of that

draken would probably wrestle out mikey for being too loud and prolly catching your attention again

"Psssst Ken-chin," Mikey poked at the taller blonde with a teasing look on his face, while the latter looked absolutely exasperated

"What do you want Mikey"

Mikey's smile grew bigger when he noticed the taller male glance to the far corner of the cafe before answering. Patting draken's shoulder asking him to lean down so he could whisper in his ear.

The reason for the blonde's odd behavior was because he had seen his taller friend sneak glances at a certain (h/c) girl, a classmate they both shared, who had entered the same cafe they were both in.

"It's (Y/n)," Mikey whispered with his mouth cupped as if disclosing a secret. Draken just rolled his eyes at his leader's behavior before saying a "Yeah so?"

Now looking draken straight in the face with glimmers in his eyes "We should go say hi!"

"Do whatever the hell you want Mikey"

Now that sure as hell wasn't the reply Mikey wanted, pouting ever so slightly.

"But you like her don't you?" Mikey asks innocently while sipping up a milkshake with one of those crazy straws

And there was silence.

'How the hell?' Draken's inner thoughts raced not knowing how to respond cause it sure as hell did take him by surprise. He thought he was being subtle... had he been so obvious this whole time that Mikey, MIKEY, out of all people was able to find out?!

To Mikey however, he didn't need an answer or confirmation since he knew his friends like the back of his hand. Even if Ken-chin had been subtle or not there's just no denying the way he looks at you, to others it might have been hard to tell but to him it was a dead giveaway.

Mikey sighed before poking at his food, "Your hopeless ken-chin, your crush wouldn't like you back if you never go talk to her" Mikey says as he stabs the octopus shapes sausage with his fork before waving it around, "I kinda feel sorry for you. . . yknow, gonna be ending up lonely forever" he continues before plopping the sausage in his mouth

"Why you," A tick mark appears on the taller male's forehead and he's furious enough to pounce at the young Sano which only earned him a laugh.

"Why, you upset cause its true?" Mikey continues to poke the bear adding little taunts every now and then much to draken's annoyance and displeasure, the only reason why he hadn't socked the little turd in the face was because he didn't want to cause a scene and prolly have you see it.

"Your too noisy Mikey" Draken finally says before bringing a hand up to wipe down his face, so done with Mikey's antics

Mikey waved another octo-sausage, "It's not like she'll hear, " Draken sighs once more as Mikey leans out of the booth their in and points in your direction with his fork "(Y/n) is waaaaay too far over there while we're aaaaall the way over here"

"Just," Draken starts before looking towards your direction as well seeing you all smiley with two of your friends taking pictures of what he could make out to be a strawberry shortcake, "whatever" he mutters

"If you're gonna keep staring she'll notice," Mikey teased again which earned him a glare from his taller friend.

Both Mikey and Draken both turn their heads to look at you once more but it seemed that you were glancing in their direction as well before momentarily meeting eyes with Draken to which the tallboy had inwardly gone stiff for being caught

As for Mikey:

"oh never mind, hi (y/n)!" Mikey waves from across the room before slapping Draken's shoulder urging him to say hi to you as well to which he reciprocated with a nod of acknowledgment towards you

Your attention then shifts to both of them before sending a wave of your own before returning back to conversing with your friends

Once everything had cooled down Mikey snorts

“You really don’t know how to act around someone you like, dont you?”

i feel like he isnt loud about his crush contrary to what other people may believe

a private person, keeps his business his business

subtle about it and has actually planned the whole thing if ever things run south

don't get me wrong he knows he might not be smart in certain aspects but he sure as hell knows how to act and play the part

I feel like out of all the tr boys he and draken are prolly the least obvious when staring or glancing

on a good day he'd get to glance at you more than 5 times per subject without getting caught

uses glancing at you as a motivation

hell having you in the same class was a blessing too

but anywayzz

when he does get caught hes sly and pretends to be glancing around the whole room/area

so the moment you tilt your head in his direction he knows its his cue to act like hes looking around

his acting gets you to look around too 🤧🤧

100/10 recommend and he certainly didn't find it in one of chifuyu's romance mangas

Baji Keisuke was an oddball, that was for sure. He knew there had been rumors circulating around him being a poindexter with his get up and he always did try his best to separate his gang life and school life lest he want to make his mom cry again

Though that was back in his first year of middle school, now in his third he could care less about the rumors that circulated around him anymore and he still tried to do his best in school.

So where did you fit in all this? You may ask

Simple you were the only person aside from Chifuyu that didn’t treat him any different from first year up until now and you were kind enough to help him study sometimes too

He didn’t know if you considered him a friend but to him you were that and much more, a crush.

Baji knew he liked you, a lot.

Though he knew he had to keep it in the down low, the last thing he wants is having you end up tangled in his gang business

So for now, he’ll just settle for watching you from afar and keeping you safe.

Now sat in his classroom during English time, a subject he knew you particularly excelled in he would glance at you ever so often. Always admiring that dopey smile you’d have when you nod in understanding or whenever the teacher would praise your intonation.

Baji would think back to all the times when you knocked on his desk before midterms and finals to ask if he needed help with anything and if he needed help with English he knew the person to ask.

You were nice that way

Chifuyu however misinterpret this as quote-on-quote “your way of flirting”

To which Baji thought as utter nonsense since there was no way, he never had any conversation with you outside of school or that didn’t involve schoolwork.

He sighs

As the lecture continued Baji leaned his head a little to where you were seated and his eyes drifted towards your figure once more

His eyes had caught sight of someone tapping you from the back because your pen had dropped and handing over said pen to you

The small smile and nod you gave your classmate had him feeling soft before your head turns and both your eyes meet.

Acting casual Baji offered a tight lip smile before his eyes roamed around your vicinity as if looking for something and that catching your eye was just a result of that.

You slowly turn your head as well to investigate what he might have been looking at and when Baji saw that he inwardly smiled at how cute and naive you were.

When he had turned to face the front again he hadn’t missed the way you looked over towards his direction

Right now you were carrying a brown poodle who refuses to enter the pen with the other dogs, he watches as you struggle to put him down kicking and jumping back on you

You whine at the dog who refuses to cooperate with you until you do the first thing that pops into your mind which was get into the pen with the dog

Kazutora watches from the counter with a soft look as you carry the brown and carefully step over the playpen and sit down.

“Mission success!” He hears you squeal out before standing up only to be tackled by the dogs in the pen, he could see you pout and whine for the doggos to stop but to no avail.

Just then he meets your eyes who look at him with a pleading look and he blinks back twice out of surprise

Your whine causes him to snap back, “Are ya just gonna stare or are ya gonna come help me,” you beg bringing your arms up like a baby wanting to be carried up.

Smiling to himself he makes his way from the counter to the playpen

“Well are you gonna help me?” You ask flailing your arms around still getting licked by the bunch of dogs

“Hmmm,” Kazutora hums before pulling you up by the arms

“There ya go you big baby,” he says before walking off with the tips of his ears burning pink

Izana knew you're dating Mikey and he decide to not tell you about Mikey or his plan. He even forced Kakucho to lie to you about it, he didn't wanted you to hurt. So when you were talking about things you did with Mikey, he stayed silent, listening to you when really his blood was boiling. He felt like he was loosing someone else because of Mikey and he couldn't stand it.

The day before he decide he had to go fight against toman he was extremely clingy, he even refused to let you go to see Mikey. He just needed you to stay with him. Then with Kakucho, he promised you to go eat ice cream, your favorite as soon as what he had to do was finished.

You learned about his death by Ran, he told you that Kakucho also died which you learn later that it wasn't true. You were relieved that you didn't lost both your best friends, but it was still hard for you two to deal with Izana's death. He was the most important person you both had and he wasn't there anymore. Kakucho decide he didn't wanted to lie to you, so he told you everything about Emma's death, about Mikey and Shinichiro.

You immediatly blame Mikey for his death, if it wasn't for him, Izana would still be there and you'd be eating ice cream wiht him and having fun with Kakucho too. You tried to see Mikey that was ignoring you, he couldn't face you.

So instead you called Draken, that told you where they were. You asked Kakucho to bring you there and he didn't wnated at first because he really didn't wanted to have problems with them again, yet he did because he was worried for you.

Mikey was surprised to see you there, he thought you would come and hug him, or maybe get mad but instead you took your knife and tried to stab him. His eyes widden as he saw Draken holding your wrist, your hand shaking. Eveyone look at you as if you became crazy.

So where should I start, oh ye let's start with the begging of when you guys met or where.

It was a regular match , you were against Nightmare , you honestly hated him at first. His attack was so annoying.

The day he fell for you was his first meeting , it was in the waiting room , you were sitting next to the mechanic and weeping clown, and him on hunters chair.

He didn't know what has gotten into him . Maybe it's because of your voice , or your beauty? Or?? He didn't know. There was no answer. You were just pretty.

Honestly he went friendly because of you. He wanted to be with you.

It was in dark woods (ew I hate this map) , your heart started to race meaning that he was near. You were running and him behind you . But after 20 seconds you realized he didn't want to hit you. What if he was faking?

You were embarrassed and said sorry for not realising it sooner and introduced yourself. He really liked you.

When the other three survivors gathered around him too , he didn't really liked that. But still liked the attention , especially from you.

Weeping clown didn't stop stunning him with his rockets , and pallets , he thought the hunter would understand that he needed points but oh hell naw. He got hit , but it wasn't the hunters normal hit. It was more aggressive yknow?

Blood was everywhere, the two other survivors panicked and started running away from him , you started running too but you weren't panicking?

Maybe because Smiley deserved that.

The hunter started to hurt the other two and sending them back to the manor, injuried really badly.

It was only you

You were waiting for the dungeon to open , when it did before you escaped you saw him staring at you from afar , you smiled a little and left.

You thought it was cute (ma'am...😃)

And that's how begun.

You know that survivors and hunters share garden AND a library.

Well he would often stalk you , while you are reading a book or doing something that makes you happy or relaxed.

He even hurts more, survivors if they talk to you, same for hunters but only if they flirt with you. (If he hurts Robbie..👊)

He has stabbed jack two-three times , but you liked how protective he is.

You know how I made my own personal interpretation of Cdreams design that combines that floaty head thing with that thing in nature where animals have a fake head to confuse others?

Yknow. His actual face is on his "chest" (which is actually the head) and his "head" is a magic floaty growth thingy that's supposed to distract prey and predators and shit?

So people look at the fake head when talking because that's just kinda socially polite and respectful and shit. Except Tommy who's never not taken a chance to not be a brat, or rather who isn't gonna just not look at a guys actual face just to look at a decoy because it's considered more polite. Like. That's stupid. You look at a person's face when you look at them to communicate and shit. Who gives a shit if dreams eyes are on a chest if you base it off on more human anatomy. Most people are fucking hybrids so why should they pretend that dream sees out of the volleyball of a head.

And it's good that he does because it means unlike everyone else he's the only one who actually sees where Dream is looking when he speaks.

While everyone looks at the white smiley orb that shifts it's fake face the way a person talking to a crowd would, Tommy can see Dreams actual eyes never leaving him.

It'd be even better if he didn't think it was just Dream messing with him back. To provoke him in a harmless little fight about disks and annoying each other with no serious consequences.

The way it started, like most things, was just as some lighthearted fun.

Tommy had heard that, for some weird reason, it was impolite to look the server admin in his real eyes. This notion was so pervasive throughout the server that most people didn't even know that his decoy floating head wasn't his real head, and yet, not once had Dream spoken up on it.

It was stupid in Tommy's personal opinion, and if it actually made Dream uncomfortable the man would have told him so at some point. So he and he alone started doing it.

When he tried to trade with Dream for his discs back the first time, he was looking Dream straight in the eyes, and the man looked at him right back. Tubbo, next to him seemed nervous as if he thought that Dream was genuinely mad, but looking him in the eyes Tommy could tell that it was just a game. Dream's eyes were crinkled slightly in amusement.

And then it kept escalating.

When Dream killed Tommy the first time in the Final Control Room he forced him to look into his eyes before slitting his throat. There was still nothing but amusement there. That's when Tommy understood that they had a very different idea of fun.

And then again, when they were on the obsidian wall surrounding New L'Manburg and Tubbo signed his fate Dream eyes never left Tommy for a second. Not even when he was speaking directly to Tubbo. His decoy head was turned, politely paying attention to the right people, but not his real eyes.

They were always there, always watching.

They never left after that.

“Babyyyy, come back to bed,” groaned Jungkook, watching you move around in his bathroom.

You loved Jungkook, but you were not ready to risk getting a UTI for him so you left him in bed while you went to clean yourself up. Throwing on one of Jungkook’s shirts (which was basically a dress on you since you were so much shorter than him), you sauntered away from his sink.

“I don’t even know how you’re still awake babe, I definitely thought I tired you out tonight,” you joked as you plopped down next to your boyfriend, stealing some of the covers that were covering his lower half.

Turning over to face you, he gazed adoringly at your smiley self beaming back at him.

“Why would I need to fall asleep when I’ve got the girl of my dreams in front of me?” crooned Jungkook as he put his hands on your waist to pull you closer to him

You groaned at his cheesiness and lightly slapped his chest (you secretly loved it, but there was no way that you were going to admit that anytime soon).

You and Jungkook both led such busy lives, so you truly appreciated the quiet moments like this (which were few and far between). It felt like there was nobody else in the world but the two of you as you looked into each other’s eyes, simply enjoying the other’s presence. You felt like you were a character in a Hallmark movie; it seemed like such a fantasy to be laying in bed across from the man of your dreams, as if none of this could be real.

Instinctively, you brushed your thumb lightly over the scar on Jungkook’s cheek, rubbing circles into the small mark.

“You never told me how you ended up with this scar, Koo,” you said softly as you focused on the scar.

Jungkook chuckled, sticking out his pinky in front of you before beginning to speak.

“I’ll tell you but you have to promise not to laugh too much ok?” he said with his doe eyes staring at you.

You twisted your pinky in his, kissing the top of his finger as a promise.

“I was 10 and my brother and I only had one computer to share. He wouldn’t let me play on the computer before him so we fought until he scratched me on the cheek,” he said bashfully, scratching the back of his neck,

You did promise Jungkook you wouldn’t laugh too much, but you were having a really hard time holding it in.

“Seriously babe? All that just to use a computer? Good to know you were just as computer obsessed then as you are now,” you jeered at him (you were only slightly jealous of how much time he spent playing Overwatch with his hyungs)

You ran a finger over the small diagonal of the scar again, subconsciously smiling after knowing the story behind it.

“It must have hurt so bad - it looks deep” you said now with a frown.

“Well when my mom saw me crying with a bloody cheek she did let me use the computer that day, and she gave me ice cream too - I’d call that an absolute win in my books,” exclaimed Jungkook with a prideful smile.

Placing a chaste kiss right over the scar, you glow to him.

“That’s my boy. I love it - it’s what makes you you, yknow”.

Jungkook grinned and pulled you closer into his chest, rolling over so he was on his back, your head directly over his beating heart.

“Okay, an eye for an eye babe. What’s this scar about?” he inquired as he pointed to the small slice on your kneecap, pulling your leg closer to him at the same time.

“When I was in grade 1 the most popular thing to do during lunch time was skipping rope on the playground, and I couldn’t master the hand eye coordination to do it so I kept tripping.”

It was now Jungkook’s turn to giggle a little.

“Awe, my babygirl couldn’t skip rope?” he said with his voice teetering on a fine line between being sweet and making fun of you.

“So one time I tripped and scraped my knee on the pavement trying to jump rope and that’s when I got this scar. I remember crying on the asphalt for what felt like hours before my best friend at the time, Jangmi, found me. My mom didn’t get me to stop crying that day until she gave me 4 popsicles,” you said with a smile, looking back fondly on the early memory.

The gears kept turning in Jungkook’s head.

“wait… you can jump rope now though Y/N… right?”

You were definitely glad that you had your head on Jungkook’s chest at that moment since you could bury your head even further in his chest so he wouldn’t be able to see your embarrassed expression.

“no” you whispered out meekly, unwilling to say it any louder.

Jungkook gasped and pulled your head away from his chest, holding it now in his hands.

“Babe! that’s like a life skill!!” exclaimed Jungkook with a concerned tone, shouting way louder than anyone should after midnight.

With the way Jungkook was acting, someone would’ve thought that you were telling him that you couldn’t drive or ride a bike (you actually couldn’t do one of those… but Jungkook didn’t need to know that yet).

In the midst of his rant about the importance of knowing how to jump rope , Jungkook proposed a plan. “Tomorrow you and I are heading to the gym and you are learning how to jump rope!”

You mewled at his plan. “Babe, people have tried - I just can’t do it. You’ll have to live with having a  girlfriend who just can’t jump rope.”

Jungkook puffed out his chest and put his best cocky voice on. “It’s your lucky day Y/N. You’ve got Busan Middle School’s jump rope champion as your boyfriend to teach you.”

“Actually, Jungkook, I think it’s your lucky day. Even though I might not be able to jump rope, I do have some other special talents,” you said as you smiled smugly.  

Hauling your legs over his body, Jungkook brought your body so you were straddling him.

“Hmm, I think I might need a refresher babe. Care to show me?”

With the moon as your only witness, you and Jungkook continued to share your favorite memories associated with all the little quirks on your bodies throughout the night.

You got to tell him all about the scar you got on your hamstring from your brief stint in competitive gymnastics, the scar on your ear from the first time you tried to curl your hair, and the scar on your back that you somehow obtained while baking a cake for your grandpa’s 85th birthday.

Despite it being the middle of the night, Jungkook still laughed and cried along with you as he heard your stories, loving the opportunity to get to know you better. Kissing each scar after each story, Jungkook smiled at how beautiful you appeared in the moonlight.

At the same time, you got to learn even more about Jungkook. Alongside the computer story, you learned that Jungkook had scars on his back from the time he swears he saw a shark while swimming in Busan (the rest of his family is 100% he just brushed up against a rock, but you know how stubborn Jungkook can be) and that he has scar on his left Achilles heel from the time he tried on his mom’s heels.

As the sun started to make an appearance in the sky again, your eyelids started to feel heavy. As you were about to drift off into dreamland, you heard Jungkook’s voice.

“you’re so beautiful - you know that right?”

Even in your sleepy haze, you still blushed at Jungkook’s sweet words.

“All these scars, all these things you try to cover up with makeup or hide, they all make you even more beautiful. I promise to never let you forget how beautiful you are to me Y/N,” confessed Jungkook as he ran his fingers softly through your hair.

The last thing you felt that night before you fell asleep was Jungkook placing a sweet kiss on your forehead.

You could only hope that Jungkook was as good at teaching people how to jump rope as he was at being an amazing boyfriend.

Hello! First off thank you so muchmakes me happy to know that my work is intriguing to others :D TW: attempted suicide, gaslighting, unhealthy relationship behaviors, manipulation, and vague wounds In general, when I think of "snapping"mentally, my mind goes to the idea of staring blankly, quietness, and being frozen in place. Yknow when your parents would go quiet after you majorly fucked something up? Yea like that. For Elias, words speak louder than actions for him. You can hit and scratch and try your best to run away, but he'll always convince himself that you're doing it as a part of human nature. No creature wants to be stuck in a cage, he gets that more than anybody. It's just the instinct inside of you, you dont really want to be away from him! It's only when hes told how much hes hated, and unloved. That all of this is his fault, hes the reason you're so miserable and angry. For him, actions can be accidental, reflexes are hard to control. But words have force behind them;meaning. Its difficult to calm him down once his mind is made up about how selfish you've been! I'd say the lightest punishment hes willing to give is a few deep gashes on your back, and a day chained to bed. Itll kill him to be away from you but it kills him even more to remember those hateful words.

Anastasia is more of the "self loathing and pitying" type of lover. She'll wallow in sadness if anything ever happened to you. She doesn't really go feral unless everything has been ripped away. And surprisingly, there is still things to rip away. If you were to be killed, or removed from where she wants you, she'd wreak havoc. It would be mostly her own internal suffering, destroying her home and mutilating herself out of rage and anguish. Anastasia has a history of being seen as a monster, and she'd gladly live up to that reputation if it meant getting revenge.

Lain is very fake; If you talked back, he'd see to make sure you were faced with everything you hate. Not only is he the king of delusion, he's an amazing gaslighter. He's practiced pulling a normal and smiley face even during gut-wrenching situations, so getting him to break easily would be difficult. If you continuously decided to defy him--refusing to eat, hurting yourself or him, and just being generally uncooperative for an extended period of time, he'd be on the brink of madness. He only scares you into the thought of being hurt physically; Lain loves mind games. The boy would subject you to hours of hallucinogenics, causing the worst paranoia possible. He'd break you so far into oblivion, you'd scream at the sound of footsteps.

Adan is... difficult to say the least. He doesn't really get angry. What else do you expect from a millennium old vampire? He's had many subjects who've tested his patience in the past centennial and a tantrum from you won't be enough to shake him up. But if you were to threaten death upon yourself, that's when he'd get serious. He doesn't mind if you desecrate a few towns or splatter blood on the walls-- Hey, everybody's gotta have their fun as an undead newbie. A suicide attempt is the worst situation you could put yourself in. You're a new, shiny subject that has piqued his interest; Adan is really a child at heart: willing to put up with your own tantrums until it affects him. If trapping you underground or tying you against him is the only way you'll behave, he'll do it. Adan is the definition of a "disappointed angry parent," staring down at you like you're nothing, furious at what you're trying to do. He'll be quiet; too quiet. And that's when you know you've fucked up.
