Dunno if you've done this before, but characters with tall reader!

This is mostly me being sick and having OC obsession brain rot, but the majority of my OCs are 5'9–6'0+ for reference by what I mean for "tall".

✧ aether. - 5'4"

the traveller, the honorary knight, the swordfish II captain, the first sage of buer: just a few of the multitude of titles aether has earned from the many battles he's fought for teyvat. he's always fighting for people, protecting people, blindly jumping head-first into danger; he needs someone to protect him for a change, and that someone is you.

he always feels safe with you, and the way you stand behind him when he's chatting with friends or purchasing items from vendors makes him feel untouchable; evident by the way he practically melts under your touch.

one of the first things people tend to notice about you is your height, and although it doesn't really bother you, aether thinks it's ignorant and unfair. don't get him wrong, he loves your height, but there's so much more to you than that. he wishes people would notice your style, or your personality, maybe even your smile, anything. as long as nobody tries to steal you from him, he doesn't mind.

he'll often find himself being the little spoon while cuddling, and honestly, it's the thing he most looks forward to after a long day of completing commissions and collecting resources.

he loves how tall you are, how gentle you are, how loving you are; he loves all of you, and he hopes you love all of him too...

✧ venti. - 5'5"

venti loves the way you tower over him, and finds your subsequent protectiveness rather endearing.

your height sometimes intimidates people, and discourages them from wanting to strike up conversation with you. venti, however, was never bothered by it, and had no problem shamelessly flirting with you the very second you entered angel's share that fateful day.

the bard struggles to understand how people could possibly be afraid of you. of course, he knows how strong you are, and is aware of the lengths you'd go to in order to protect him, but nothing about your personality was something to be scared of.

the more he got to know you, the quicker he came to the realisation that you're really just a big softie - a gentle giant, if you will.

your impressive stature also means that you can carry him around. venti loves nothing more than being in your arms, face nuzzled into your chest as you take him to bed after a long day, or resting his head on your shoulder and forcing you to lift him up when he 'falls asleep''.

all in all, your boyfriend views your height is anything but negative. he loves you the way you are, and, as cliché as it sounds, wouldn't change anything about you for the world...

✧ itto. - 6'1"

no matter how tall you are, itto will give you piggyback rides. and you will enjoy them. to put it quite frankly, you don't have a choice.

even though you're taller than him, he still loves to have you in his arms, whether that means cuddling, carrying you around, or simply just hugging you from behind. something about having you in his hold makes him feel stronger and more confident than he ever has before.

the members of the arataki gang were shocked when they first met you, genta mistaking you for itto when he caught sight of your silhouette. nonetheless, they have all grown to be quite fond of you, and often leave small gifts on your doorstep which never fail to bring a smile to your face.

your height was something you sometimes felt ashamed of, however, itto always makes sure you feel happy within yourself, and will do everything in his power to wash the insecurities away; showering you in kisses and telling you just how perfect you are...

✧ alhaitham. - 5'10"

at first, alhaitham was slightly embarrassed that you were taller than him, not because of your appearance, but because of how he'd been relentlessly teasing his roommate for his height while having a partner who stands at an impressive 6'5"...

nevertheless, the scribe truly admires everything about you, and will often just stare. even though he wants nothing more than to have you in his arms, he's more than happy to admire you from afar, to watch you go about your day or make idle chit-chat with the local vendors so that he can just take you in; "archons, they're beautiful".

even though he stands shorter than you, he is extremely protective over you; intertwining his fingers with yours whenever he has the chance, and staring down anyone who 'looks at you wrong'. you often tease him for this, poking fun at his pout before kissing it away with a smile, only for it to return as you pinch his rosy cheeks.

the love alhaitham has for you is immeasurable, and the (not so) little things like your height only make him fall harder for you. his heart skips a beat when he feels your arms snake around his waist from behind, being pulled into your chest as you rest your head on his shoulder. yes, you could still do this even if you were shorter, but for him, nothing compares to being able to sink into you; he rather enjoys feeling smaller when he's with you...

✧ diluc. - 6'1"

you and your husband, diluc, stand at a similar height, him just slightly taller than you at 6'1". people often stare when you walk into a room hand-in-hand, but the darknight hero couldn't be more proud.

he never misses the chance to show you off, introducing you to everyone he knows while making sure to subtly flash the wedding ring he oh so gently slides onto your finger every morning. however, as soon as someone dares to make a rude remark about you, your husband has no problem stepping in front of you and handling the situation himself. yes, you're capable of looking out for yourself, but the redhead always feels the need to protect the ones he loves most.

the two of you are a package deal, and are rarely seen apart from each other unless absolutely necessary. diluc can't stand being away from you, and often finds his mind flooded with thoughts of you when he should be focused on the financial papers spread out on the desk before him.

being the taller ragnvindr, diluc often takes it upon himself to hand you items from higher up shelves, knowing full well you can reach them just fine by yourself. "given my stature, wouldn't it be rude not to hand my partner the things they couldn't possibly reach?", he always asks, pressing a loving kiss on your forehead and handing you whatever you were reaching for. such a tease...

i adore your paintings so muchhh would you happen to have any other tips or tutorials for your process? anything from thumbnailing all the way to final render

Thank you 😭♥ I appreciate that a lot!! To start with I've got my advice tag (both new and veeery old stuff lol), & my youtube has a couple of speedpaints on it, one with commentary including process, brushes etc

In terms of general stuff about how I approach painting, I tend to tailor the method to the desired outcome. I talk about it more in depth on this post here, I also link to some references & tutorials that I really enjoy/recommend!

Besides that though, I guess I can do a little walkthrough of the Whisper & Tangle painting I uploaded a few months ago, since I tried something new with it that I pseudo integrated into my workflow & could be fun to talk about? 🤔

SO yes, I do always thumbnail when I'm doing a bigger painting, and they're definitely not pretty LOL. I usually use the colour fill lasso just to block in basic shapes and values with a gradient map slapped on the top -- I ended up swapping the values around in the end because it let me use the fireflies as the sole light source, making it more character focused! Then it's the usual process of resketching it all & flatting in the base colours (I also added Whisper's wisps hehe), then adding shading:

This is how I usually approach it, w/ all the shading layers clipped to the original flats to preserve editing. Multiply, screen & overlay are the most common layer modes I use while doing this, and if I'm ever struggling I'll sometimes add a gradient map too in order to unify awkward colours etc. The new thing I tried for this painting was doing what's often nicknamed as a 'clown pass' -- which is using hard edged shapes to create an easily-accessible selection mask for each part:

It looks Super funny but I actually found it very helpful, and I ended up using it to select & cut out all of their body parts onto seperate layers, which were then alpha locked. It meant I could go ham w/ large or textured brushes, smudges etc without worrying about losing those edges, or accidentally over-rendering and screwing up the anatomy in the process!!

I've kept doing something similar since, though it's a bit more dialed back; mainly using the lasso select to chop it up directly and preserve specific/necessary edges, grouping up similar body parts on a single layer etc.

After doing all that, I sat down and started rendering. The background was all blocked in & detailed with a hard round brush and these amazing brushes from Devin Elle Kurtz. There isn't anything super insightful that I think I could type on how I render, but I do have that speedpaint I mentioned earlier that'll probably shed more light. It's just a lot of eyedropping & painting, rinse and repeat

When rendering is done I usually add a concoction of adjustment layers, as well as an overlay w/ a noise texture on it. I also sharpen it all after doing so! These are the ones that I ended up adding for this painting:

The dupe & blur is a fun thing that doesn't always work, but it looks super neat when the painting itself calls for it, especially when paired w/ that noise texture. It can make stuff look like an old/low quality photograph or recording -- here's another example w/ a shadow and amy doodle I posted a few months ago:

That's about it for this painting, the majority of the time spent on it was honestly me rendering those damn leaves 🥲 Very tedious but worth it & it was a really good learning experience. Gold accented wallpaper kits.

The top two kits are done in the 4 Peacemaker wood tones that I use the most often (pictured under the cut) in 2 different background variations, one uses the background colour of the pattern (image 1, C) the other is just plain white (image 2, W) Did we need this many choices made from the same 10 patterns? Of course not, but I am a sucker for more options, I suspect you are, too, or you wouldn't even be looking at this post! <3

There are 3 additional styles using these patterns, version 1 (image 3) is white paneling without the chair railing, version 2 (image 4) is white paneling with chair railing added and version 3 (images 5-14) is just the pattern slapped on a wall followed by the 3 accent colours that have been colour picked from the main pattern. All 3 of these versions have the same patterns and accent colours, so you're safe to grab just 1 version or all 3 if you wish.

I have made the main swatches a preview picture, so you know what each pattern looks like and what colour options each comes with. I have also colour coded all of the swatch icons to make it easier to find the whole set. I have honestly tried my best to make these kits as simple to use as possible, giving us builders more free time to create more houses or *shock gasp horror* actually get some much needed sleep!

About 15 years ago I flew to New York to do touristy stuff. I hired a local to show me the city. While we were walking through the city I discovered a love of highly detailed things that most people wouldn't care to notice and had to take pictures of it ALL, which made us late to events and reservations. As a New Yorker, he was always in a rush, as a tourist, I was not. I am convinced that by the time I left he was plotting how to make my death look like an accident. 😂 These art pieces are an homage to that trip <3 There are 40 swatches all done on a box canvas so you can use them as is or add a frame of your choosing!

1-3 - mattie sketches :) the last ones are recent and the 1st is one of the first drawings I did of her, back in 2021. idk I just think it’s important y’all know she’s been on her tide mouse shenanigans since the beginning

4 - I think I drew this back in last march and meant to move it to digital and clean it up there but things got busy and I never did :( they’re based on @randomwords247’s wonderful mermaid designs bc I love them

5 - unrelated to the last one, but while I was working on one of my little mermaid au drawings I tried to think how I’d approach the sequel if I got that far & ended up w. this. something something mermaids having human familiars being frowned upon

6 - I think. this is a drawing of @blaithnne’s pony!lauren that I never finished oops

7 - forgot I had this!! year before last me and @bubblekidaesthetics were planning to cosplay these two at comic con, and I got super hyped and doodled this. we did do this cosplay and it was awesome <3

8 - slightly more recent design stuff for freyja, still based on hilda-fanblog/rhombus’ design ofc but figuring out if I wanted my take on her to change anything like how many legs she has lol. also some pony!mountain king doodles on the next page

I'm still hoping to continue that one at some point. Zack is my favourite boi. I'm slowly adding some little scenes for the next VII project (Missing pieces - consisting of the comics, jokes and stuff that couldn't fit into At First Light), but with the fandom mostly quiet and not as many news (I AM EXCITED ABOUT THE NEW TRAILER, THO!), the hype to work on it atm is very weak. But I am absolutely not giving up. I need Zack and Kunsel reunited, okay.

The little bird was right! I have no idea whether I can continue working on it and manage to the end, because it's a lot of work and my neck/back have been killing me for the past few months (and I'd like to work on my own original project between VII and Trigun too orz). I tried to ease off on my standards (less details, while keeping the storytelling, no colours in most of the pages, to speed the process up), so I can get the pages out faster, thus not sitting at the pc as much and not losing the hype. :)

However, the outline is basically finished and there's bunch of scenes scripted already. :D

Hope you guys will still like it when I manage to post some of the first ones. :)

Attacked - Jay Halstead

“Why is Jay working overtime again?” Kim asked. The two of you were having dinner at her apartment.

“Money. He should be home in an hour or so.” You took a sip of your water. “But you and Adam, anything new happening there?”

Kim shook her head. “No. Maybe it’s for the best.”

Before you could answer, you got a text from Jay that he was on his way home already. You couldn’t help but smile.

“He is done, isn’t he?” Kim asked.

“Yeah. He is on his way home, so I should get going.”

“Sure. I’ll see you tomorrow at work!” You said your goodbyes, and you left the apartment.

You opened the door of your car and quickly texted Jay that you were on your way. You put your back on the passenger seat, but before you could get in the car, a sharp pain hit you on the side of your head. Gasping in pain, you fell to the ground. Someone pulled you back up and pulled you around. You fought back and pushed him off. You reached for your gun when they hit you right above your eye. Your vision got blurry as you sank to the ground again. They took that moment to take your gun and point it at you. They kicked you in the stomach. You searched for your car keys.

“You should’ve done me right when you had the chance.” Before they could do anything, your car alarm went off. They quickly ran away.

“Hey, people are trying to sleep!” You heard a man yell.

With the little strength you had left, you crawled to the back of your car, hoping that someone would see you.

“Honey, call 911,” that same voice said. You felt a hand against your shoulder. “are you okay?”

“He’s got my gun,” you mumbled. Black spots were covering your vision.

“What?”

“I’m a cop. He’s got my gun.”

“Call 911! There’s a cop! She’s dying! Hurry!” the man yelled, and that was the last thing you heard before you passed out.

“Maggie, what do we have?” Doctor Connor Rhodes asked when the gurney came into the E.R.

“We’re going to Trauma 2! P.D.’s in the house. Blunt force trauma to the head, initially unresponsive in the field. GCS is now at 10.” They wheeled you into Trauma 2. You saw the bright lights on the ceiling. You closed your eyes again. The people talking sounded like bees.

“Y/N, can you hear me? Y/N?” you heard Connor say. You didn’t respond. Your head was hurting too much.

“Someone get Doctor Halstead down here and call detective Jay Halstead. We have his fiancé.”

When Jay got the call, it felt like his world collapsed beneath him. He just texted with you. How could this happen?

“What’s going on, Halstead?” Trudy asked as she saw the colour on his face disappearing.

“It’s Y/N. She got attacked.”

“Go. I’ll call Voight!”

Jay nodded before he sprinted out of the building and drove to the hospital with the sirens on.

His brother Will was already waiting for him.

“Where is she? How is she doing?” Jay tried to run past Will, but he stopped him.

“She is in surgery with doctor Rhodes. I don’t know for how long. She got some damage to her head, but she is in the best hands, Jay. If anyone can help her, it’s Connor.”

Jay lowered himself on a chair. “I just texted her that I was coming home. Who would do this?”

“I don’t know. But I’ll know your team can figure that out,” Will said as he placed a hand on Jay’s shoulder.

“Jay? What happened?” Kim came rushing into the E.R.

“She got attacked. That’s all I know. She’s in surgery.”

Kim sat down next to him. “She left my apartment to go home. Her car was parked right in front. Was anything stolen?”

Jay shrugged his shoulders. “I don’t know, Kim,” he mumbled.

Hours passed by before Jay finally got to see you. Voight had already talked to you. Nothing was stolen besides your gun. You didn’t see who it was.

Jay sat next to your bed, holding your hand.

“I’m fine,” you said as you saw the worried look on his face.

“You got hit in the head and kicked in the stomach. You’re not fine.”

“I feel fine,” you argued.

“Because they have you on the good stuff.”

“Yeah, it’s pretty good,” you smiled.

Jay rolled his eyes as he shook his head. “You had me worried.”

“I know. I’m sorry. I have no idea what happened. I texted you that I was coming home, put my bag in the car, and then they attacked me.” Then it came back that they said something to you. “The one who attacked me, I think it was a guy, he said something to me. He said: ‘You should’ve done me right when you had the chance.’ I have no idea what it means, but maybe it was someone I put away?”

“I’ll tell that to Voight. You should get some sleep.” Jay kissed your head before he walked out of the room.

The entire night, the whole police department was working on finding who hurt you. After a full night, they got the guy on a security camera running away. They had a clear shot of his face. It turned out to be some guy you arrested for assaulting an underage girl. He got out two days ago, and he went to find you so he could hurt you. He probably wanted to kill you, but you scared him off because of your car alarm.

“Ready to go home?” Jay asked.

You were trying to put your jacket on but couldn’t put your left arm in it. “If I could get this damn jacket on,” you mumbled in frustration.

“I got you,” Jay said as he helped put your jacket on.

“Thanks. Now let’s go home. I want to take a shower and cuddle.”

“We can do that.”

You pressed a quick kiss on his lips before you walked out of the hospital room. You were ready to forget this day and sleep everything off in your fiancé’s arms.

Do you do girls too? If so may I request La Signora or Fischl where you guys do each other's makeup and nails. Then borrow or mix or match each other's clothes. And maybe have some fun and do it in a completely different style(like emo, grunge, dark academia, lolita, or something) or in each other's style.

Love your writing by the wayyyyyy. It's so addicting and in-character.

thank you for the compliment <3 ngl i do this a lot w my other friend and my entire closet revamp during the pandemic was me borrowing her clothes and realising how much i liked how i felt in them so i owe a lot of my current look to her <3

Fischl definitely loves dressing you up! She's got so many fun pieces in her closet and she loves experimenting around with you to see what kinds of things look good on you, and what she might want to try wearing herself.

When she was initially beginning to experiment with heavier looks for makeup, you were definitely her guinea pig. She would spend so much time just playing around with the colours and their combinations to see what she could create to fit her aesthetic.

From all of the effort she puts in when practicing with you, she's really set out her style. She's easily found how she wants to do her makeup and how she wants to wear her clothes, and you've picked up quite a few things too.

Sometimes, if one of you outgrows something you'll offer it to the other person. Most of the time you manage to find a way to incorporate each other's clothes with each other's styles, making your closets a kind mix between the two of you that reminds you guys of each other.

Going out is an absolute event for either of you! The two of you really enjoy spending time getting each other ready and styling the other person. It's a lot easier to get on anything that might be a little too difficult to put on yourself thanks to too many zippers or having to reach behind you. It makes Fischl super proud to hear all the compliments that people give you then happily tell them all that it's thanks to her efforts!

La Signora's routines are not for the weak. When she's getting dressed, even for something casual, it feels like an event. She loves feeling and looking her best and is the definition of doing it all for herself. Thanks to this attitude, she never cares about the looks she gets from looking as extravagant as she does.

When you asked her to borrow something she shook her head. At first, you thought that she was saying no and almost shaming you, making you bow your head as you tried to mutter an apology but then she returned with a giant bag worth of stuff.

Go big or go home is definitely her motto, the woman muttering something about how you ought to have given her more of a heads up than what you actually did. She would have gotten more things prepared for you, things that she felt you would look absolutely flawless in.

Your request ends up devolving into a giant closet revamp, La Signora buying you anything she thinks you could ever need. To her, it's a small price to pay to see you looking so confident in your new clothes. She wants to make you feel as ethereal as she does on a daily basis, and having her at your side will dispel any sort of issues with confidence you could ever have.

She doesn't often try to borrow your own clothes because her clothes are primarily all personally tailored to fit her body. This means she doesn't like wearing anything that she hasn't had fit to herself, but that doesn't mean she won't play with your makeup. She likes to see what you have and try a little on herself just to see what it could look like on her.

those “Meets His Match” colors are stellar. How in the world did you pick them?

tryina answer this without getting really long about it so short answer: i dont really remember ajhsdjklahklj. i basically have been using this to learn how to comic, i had thumbnails drawn out to make this like my crossover stuff but i was like... what if i tried using these comic settings here in csp?

the first panel of the school i did in black and white then did a gradient map to try and make it idk halloween colours? then when i was doing that first panel of raph i put raphs normal colours on a layer on the dark blue background then i did SOMETHING that i dont remember (like some overlay/hard light/multiply WE JUST DONT KNOW) then i think i hand picked some other colours and ended up w his base colours. then i did hard light layer of light orange for the light that shines on him and i remember just being like OOOOOOH. and i just kept doing that same thing with other light colours on top, fucked around w gradient maps for the crowd till i went OOOOH again. added glow layers of circle lights.

this whole thing bit me in the butt when i had to put mona in cuz i didnt remember how i got raphs colours at all, and trying to recreate that effect for her was really hard cuz i made her a dark blue-green and it literally changed her to the bg colour ahsjkdh. when i did the panel of them dancing i literally spent *googles how long avatar 2 is cuz that was on while i did it* 3 hours trying to recreate it with tone curves before just having to hand pick new colours for her. then the more i went on the more i was tryinggggggg really hard to like. not make everything look really dark cuz i think im struggling with values ? and then in this new one i was just like well. oozesquitos are green so lets try and use purple and red to contrast that.

ty for this! the prompt was about feminisation more generally but also mentioned max wearing clear nail polish and it was that that sent me feral - like the idea of daniel noticing something subtle like that, and then the contrast between max's neat shining nails and daniel's ragged ones. and it's only a short fic so that was all i needed to go on lol

Daniel sits on the couch in Max’s motorhome, watching Max paint his fingernails with clear polish, three careful strokes to each nail. neat and careful!

He takes the two bottles of coloured polish out of Max’s wash bag now, weighing them in his hand. He’s never seen Max wear them; the idea of Max carrying them around, unopened, makes something ache in him, tender and fierce. he would Not think of it this way but he wants to show max the kindness he couldn't show himself

“Can I do your nails?” Daniel asks. “Like, with a colour?”

Max snorts. “Good one,” he says, screwing the lid back on the clear bottle.

Max looks up at him; Daniel watches the decision play across his face. Sometimes when he looks at Max he wants to yell, the flicker of every thought and feeling is so obvious.

“Okay,” Max says finally.

Okay, then. “Which colour do you want?”

Daniel holds out his palm, the two bottles clinking together, pink and blue, and Max doesn’t even look, just says, “You can choose.” 🙃

Daniel pulls the little sock off Max’s foot, tosses it backwards over his shoulder for the huff of Max’s laugh. He pushes his thumb against Max’s instep and hears his breath quicken, watches the curl of his toes. little sock 😭 the laugh sliding into intimacy so quickly

He unscrews the lid of the pink bottle, draws out the brush thick with polish.

“You should wipe off some of the colour,” Max says, a little bossy, “so it does not go everywhere.”

“Noted,” Daniel says, hearing the stupid fondness in his voice.

With the first stroke he can see that the pink has a hint of iridescence, like the inside of a shell, something delicate and hidden. Tomorrow Max will be out on track, his pink painted nails beneath his race boots, a secret only the two of them know. i find max pov so much easier than daniel pov bc i can use very little figurative language lol.. idk if the shell imagery really works here but when people get it right with daniel it really hits... @boxboxlewis trapeze imagery you will always be famous 😭

Daniel paints slow stripes, trying to keep the colour neat and smooth. He messes up a couple of times, smears pink on his own thumb in his clumsy attempts to wipe away the excess. this image means that love is making him gay 💅

Max watches him quietly, hugging his knees, feet flat to the couch. being good and quiet... i'm Fine about it As soon as Daniel finishes he asks, “Can you do another coat?” i think transparent attempts to prolong a moment are very romantic actually... just wants to stay in the little bubble where they can paint each other's nails

It’s harder, this time, to keep his hand steady. Daniel can’t look at Max, focuses on his own bony fingers holding the brush, their raw-bitten nails. 😭

“It’s not very tidy,” he says when the second coat is done, and Max says, “I like it.” echoed a bit in the last scene where max offers to clean up his messy nails and daniel says he likes it

“We should wait for it to dry,” Daniel says, “before we –” and Max lets out a shaky breath, nodding.

“Blow,” he tells Daniel, his voice not quite steady.

Daniel smirks and says, “You’d like that, wouldn’t you,” this joke is too obvious but so are They but he does it, leaning forward to blow gently on Max’s pink-tipped toes, one hand on Max’s hairy ankle. Pretty, he thinks. Max’s eyes are wide, watching him. hairy legs are hot and so is the contrast with his dainty nails imo

“I actually don’t think that helped,” Daniel says after a minute, lol I like this beat the polish still tacky to the touch, and Max kicks his hand aside, surges forward to kiss him.

- sonic pretends he’s mad abt having to share his room now but he’s only mildly annoyed when knuckles wakes him up at 2am bc he wants “iced cream”

- MOVIE NIGHTS OF COURSE every movie night begins w a two hour debate bc sonic wants to watch whatever action movie of the week he’s fixated on, tails likes both disney and scifi movies, and knuckles usually digs up a god awful romance movie from the deep crevices of the attic and insists he wants to watch it (he doesn’t he’s just gathered enough information about it to know that he can use it to fuck w sonic)

- tom + maddie also suggest movies but immediately get drowned out by the bickering of their alien kids

- knuckles is on a mission to try every ice cream flavour he can find + has a sunday ritual w maddie where they go to try a new one. when he’s tried all the flavours at their local ice cream place, they go on a drive to find another one. eventually they sit down together and make a list of all the ice cream places in their vicinity and what flavours they sell, and knuckles hangs it over his bed like a little checklist + is super happy whenever he gets to check another flavour or place off

- sometimes the boys go w tom to check car speeds and bc there. aren’t any cars. they race and use the speedometer to see who’s fastest (it’s always sonic and he’s always incredibly annoying about it) (sometimes tom lies + says knuckles beat him just to piss him off)

- THEY GO CLOTHES SHOPPING it’s kinda pointless bc they don’t usually wear clothes but they still like to have some!!! tails gets a sweater vest + little glasses, knuckles gets a hat (he’s VERY happy abt it and wears it all the time after that) and a pyjama top bc he says he wants smth comfy to wear on “the nights of movies” and sonic gets a hoodie and leather jacket and layers them bc he thinks he looks cool

- maddie reads to them!!! knuckles rlly enjoys going to the library + picking out new books for her to read to them, and was very excited when he eventually got a library card

- they also go to annoy wade bc sometimes tom will come into work w his three alien kids in tow and the station will just. instantly be a mess. sonic runs around so fast he creates a whirlwind of paper, tails gets absolutely fascinated by computers (and case files which tom desperately tries to keep him away from), and knuckles appoints himself wade’s personal assistant for the day

- ALSO I THINK SO MUCH ABT SONIC TAKING TOM AND MADDIE BACK TO HIS CAVE POST-FIRST MOVIE. LIKE. THEY LITERALLY MENTION HIS CAVE. SO THEY KNOW ABT IT. i just imagine tom joking like “so you’ve been spying on us for years, were you living in our shed the whole time and we just kept missing you?” and sonic’s like “no i lived in a cave i found in the middle of the woods ^-^” and tom and maddie are just like. what. you what (he takes them there and they’re immensely horrified that this CHILD has been living ALONE in a cold damp CAVE for literal YEARS. they immediately start decorating the attic

- I ALSO LOVE THIS HC where tails and knuckles are still learning about earth and getting used to living there and sonic is absolutely not helping in the slightest (one of these instances is where tom breaks out the “sonic. stop or youre uh. grounded. yeah you’re grounded” and sonic’s like 😟 “i’m WHAT”) (he does, in fact, not get grounded)

- they have a family photo on the wall of them at the baseball field :) it took a while to get a good picture tho bc sonic kept messing w ppl (throwing grass, giving ppl bunny ears), tails got fascinated by the camera, and knuckles didn’t really understand why they were pausing their game of base of ball to stare into a small device. they got there in the end though ^-^

Somehow I hadn't even thought about Joel being a wizard as well but I took that idea to CJ and we both agreed it was an excellent idea so thank you for that Anon! Wizard Joel is canon to the au now!

Iskall was someone that CJ and I had nothing for, but we had a talk and figured some things out for him too. So here you go, have some character info ~

Joel is human, a wizard, who works with Scar in a little magic shop somewhere in the city. The shop is known as 'Magical Mountain' despite not being anywhere near a mountain. They just think it sounds cool. They sell spells and crystals and other magic items and services to the magical folks in the area. The shop itself is enchanted too, hidden so that only people who know it's there can find it. Occasionally people who don't know about the magical things in the world will stumble across the shop though. That's when Scar brings out the fake crystals, cheap rocks and coloured glass to amuse them (and get their money) before gently shooing them out the door, hoping they don't find the place again. Joel has tried to sell real spells to unknowing people more than once, just to see what'll happen. (Nothing good usually, that's what happens).

They're on good terms with the Vampire Court and the Wolf Pack and help them out sometimes!

Iskall is also human, but not of the magical type. Nope. He was raised as a monster hunter, taught about vampires and werewolves and other creatures and told they were evil and violent. He believed it too. Until he met them. When he came to the city and actually encountered these people he realised that they were just- people. Scared people trying to defend themselves from a threat. He couldn't hurt them. He put down his weapon, convinced they'd use that as an excuse to kill him. But they didn't. They definietly didn't trust him at first, but over the years that gradually changed, and nowadays he's a good friend to them.

He puts his skills to good use as well, helping track down loose fledglings and new wolves from time to time. Bringing them to the Court or to Ren so that they can get help if they want it. It's better than letting them wander around and get hurt or hurt other people.

Airell loves most of music genres, he is a bard himself. He loves when the songs tell tales. He doesn't like too repetitive stuff, like Bash the Dragon song. He enjoys the festival, though.

His favourite colours are green and purple/violet. He's not a fan of orange, but he admits that it can look nice sometimes.

Airell likes warmer climates, but chilly weather is also nice. They like snow and think it's a lot of fun, but they don't like being exposed to it for too long. This changes to indifference post HoT.

Airell loves hylek cuisine. Ever since they got a taste of chak, they love adding it to their own dishes. They don't like apples, but might eat them if there is nothing else to eat and they're hungry. Similarly to majority of my characters, Airell has a sweet tooth.

🍊 What is your OC’s favourite meal? Snack? Dessert? Drink? Any reasons behind this besides liking how it tastes?

Airell's favourite is the grub and chak stew! They love the crunchiness of the chitin and the chewiness of the insects themselves! Also they claim that chak goo is perfect for making jelly for desserts and they love baking. Airell always reminds everyone to be careful with chak, because they're quite tricky to work with in the kitchen.

What is your OC’s most hated food? Stuff they can’t stand to eat or drink?

brocolli. Airell absolutely hates the texture he would rather down an expired karka dipped in toxic waste from inquest labs than eat it. He has a similar reaction to brussells but simply because he hates how the name of that vegetable sounds.

🍑 Where is your OC’s favourite place to relax or calm down? Recount a story of their time spent in this place! What makes it so special to them?

Airell's special place would be the Ameyalli temple beneath Jaka Itzel. He was taught that it was a significant place for the Itzel, so he grew to love it too. In there he feels like he belongs and he forgets that he's actually all alone. Faith in the Jungle goddess makes his life easier. He feels the connection to the Jungle itself and he would hate to lose it. He always goes there when he's troubled or needs to relax.

Is there anywhere your OC hates to go to? Anywhere that stresses them out or have negative memories of?

The fallen and rotting tree that we know as the Heart of Thorns, the place where they lost someone they held dear. Airell feels like they've lost a part of themselves and they hate to even think of that place. The world is cruel, though. They have to come back there at some point and face what they've done, even if their actions were unintentional. Airell's reawakened the Tree and made it sprout new plant people. They have to take the responsibility, no matter how painful it is.

🧡 Who is your OC’s favourite person? Why is this person the top of their list and have they actually met them (an idol or rolemodel or celeb can be someone’s favourite after all!).

It's Trahearne. Trahearne taught Airell everything he knew, from necromancy to many unspoken rules of living in central Tyria. Trahearne was also the second person Airell has met that believed them when they said they were from the West. Airell also used to be Trahearne's apprentice for a while before they actually started dating. Even after HoT, when their paths...separated, so to speak... Airell never forgets Trahearne nor their feelings for him.

Who does your OC absolutely hate, the one person who they’d sell to Satan for one corn chip? Why do they loathe this person so?

There is a lot of self-loathing in Airell, but there is also a grudge against Nia. While they are thankful that she took over the Pact, they think she should have tried harder to save Trahearne.

They also hold a grudge against Rytlock because he is blamed for Eyris's death. As Airell is really close with her, knowing that Rytlock is responsible makes them on edge and the only reason they let him breathe is because Eyris asked them to stand down.

📙 What kind of subjects (of conversation, of discussion, in school or whatever) does your OC find interesting or engaging or that they can talk for hours about? What kind of stuff do they just find fun?

Airell loves talking about music and travel, as well as cooking. He also really enjoys listening to others talk about their passions, even if he doesn't know much about them himself.

What things bore your OC to tears and they couldn’t care less about? Why?

He's not a fan of politics. As a commander he had to suffer through it, but ever since he retired he is much happier. Another topic that bores him is golemancy. He thinks minions are much better, but I'd say it's just a necromancer's bias.

Additionally, he really doesn't like listening about human gods. Trahearne used to tell him a lot about them when they were traversing Orr together and ever since their parting Airell can't stand hearing about them even by accident. It's dredging up painful memories.

Prompt #7: Pawn

It’s a little shop not far from where he works, one Amba had run across by chance some weeks back. He’d wandered in to try and find something, a gift, but hadn’t stayed long, uncomfortable with shopping just for the sake of shopping. But he had picked up a stuffed toy in the shape of an animal he’d never come across before for Khai. He didn’t expect he’d ever have come back. But as it turns out, it is one of the few shops in the city where a used item cost nearly the same as new.

A house cost enough money without also being gouged for the items to put in it.

Khai tries out every other piece of furniture there, happily proclaiming whether or not it is comfortable enough to adorn the future house, and Dayir joins him, minus the exaggerated enthusiasm. Amba starts to wander the little shop. He’s not terribly concerned about furniture - the couch they have now is about the only thing he ever sits on, and it’s perfectly fine. 

He finds himself looking at a glass showcase filled with trinkets. Some reading glasses - Dayir already has those. A pair of tinted glasses - hm. Maybe. He glances over a shoulder to where Dayir and Khai are inspecting a footstool. A hollow one, it would seem, as Dayir pulls of the upholstered top, piquing Khai’s interest, who decides he ought to sit in the hollow stool. His ass doesn’t quite fit, and Dayir laughs as he has to help Khai remove himself from it.

“Need something?’ Amba blinks, and turns to the source of the voice. He stares at the shopkeep awkwardly for a moment, then down at the display. “Um.” He points a finger at the tinted glasses, “Do those help you see, or are they just dark?”

The shopkeep looks into the display, “Well, let’s see…” they open up the display, checking the accompanying tags, the pull a pair out to show to Amba, “Looks like these are the only ones that do both -” they offer the glasses for him to inspect. A set with perfectly-round, pink mirrored lenses and brass wire frames. Amba tries to picture Dayir in them, and the image is entirely ridiculous.

“Hm. Perhaps just a regular pair,” he points at a much more normal-looking pair in the display, and the shopkeep pulls them out for Amba to take a look at. They seem fine. He asks the price and pays, slipping the glasses into his satchel before wandering back over to the other two.

Khai is in the middle of inspecting a shelf, standing on the bottom rung to test its strength (presumably). 

“I can put all the stuffed toys on it,” he states, looking at Amba. “It’s a perfect size.”

Amba shrugs, “Buy it then.” 

Khai grins. “I need to find more stuff to put on it.” He starts to browse around the store, poking at random trinkets.

Dayir turns to Amba, “Oh hey, found this.” He pulls a book from under his arm and presents it to Amba. “Now you can know how long to bake your cookies. And how to keep them from doing… whatever the hell that was that they did the last time.”

Amba grimaces at the reminder of the spiky cookies, and considers the cookbook. “I can’t read it.”

“Oh.” Dayir thinks a moment, then shrugs, “I could teach you to read it.”

Amba frowns, “It’s an annoying language.”

“Yeah, written Eorzean is bullshit, but once you learn it, you’ve learned it.”

“Hmmm…” Eventually Amba takes the book and places it on Khai’s shelf. There’s an odd sculpture there that wasn’t there a few moments before, an abstract depiction of what he assumes is meant to be an aldgoat. Or maybe it’s not meant to be anything.

They continue browsing the store, Amba keeping a closer eye on Dayir than any of the merchandise, only paying attention to the things Dayir seems to take an interest in. There’s some floor cushions they pick up, a few dog beds. A pole wrapped in twine that the shopkeep tells them is meant for cats. A few more odd trinkets for Khai. 

Amba stops for a moment to inspect a blanket - rusty orange-red in colour covered in a faded pattern of stars. He takes a mental note of it, and leaves it where it is. He finds a black hat made from wool - likely not well suited to the heat, but the brim is wide. It ends up on the shelf as well.

Eventually they tally up their items and leave, the price burning a somewhat larger hole in their collective pockets than Amba would have like, but it could certainly be worse. 

Dayir winces as they step from the low-lit shop into the sun, hand on his brow to shade his eyes, and Amba remembers his earlier purchase, pulling the glasses from his satchel and offering them over.

“Try these.”

“Oh. I hadn’t thought to look…” Dayir puts them on. “Actually a big help, than - oh.”

The glasses are quickly joined by a wide-brimmed hat that Amba puts unceremoniously on his head. Dayir grabs the brim and adjusts it.

“Okay, well. That also helps. Have to say the sunburnt scalp is one of the reasons I stay inside so much.”

They head back to the apartment, grateful the landlord lets them store the shelf in a basement room until they have their new space.

Amba returns to the shop the next day for the blanket, bringing it back to his workplace for Yuhei to embroider. It’ll be a surprise for the new house, and Amba hopes by the time that it’s ready, they won’t be needing the spare mattress any more.

I feel as if it would enhance the experience.

Thor wears a pink tshirt at least once and Jane gives him a hairclip that survives his magical girl transformation. btw that is an actual magical girl transformations scene w like the colours and glitters and stuff and his armour changes to reflect his new ethics and values, but still keeps the asgardian style and colourscheme through, except for thors hairclip.

Thors new lightning is 50% brighter 50% more sparkly

Asgard has several instances of workers gossip stopping when Loki is percived.

Lokis costume gets progresively more opressive on the neck area to show how he is axfixiating more and more as the movie goes on. From the valut scene onwards he wears mid-forearm lenght gloves that catch the viewers eye bc THEY DONT MATCH THE OUTFIT. They have stark color that brings attention to them, i havent decided if they are bright emerald green w golden odin-based motif (crows, his spear, something like that) or a pair of golden ones w a green snowflake detail that we see odin wear and take off at some point.

We see frigga actively choosing to do nothing about the situation. She kind of does nothing in the og movie, but i want that to be clear.

The w4 do some snooping before going full on treason. Ask around, get the general workers vibe, u know the drill. They maybe even go to the archives 👀. The thing that gets them to tip over is that Heimdal is there researching seidr in the vault. He tells them he didnt see Loki entering the vault, but when Odin collapsed he was there.

They first brush it off but then go to see Loki to free Thor bc it has Been Known™ that Odin is in odinsleep and he is to take charge. Loki, of course refuses and the scene takes the same route as the og, Loki pulling rank on them.

W4 dont believe it. They get to the door of Odins chambers in the healing wing but they get told off bc they dont have the rank to do that. They get pissed.

They plan the treason.

Loki goes to his advisors and they dont believe/want to cooperate w him. He gets most of his war-preventing stratergies shut down on the basis that they are "childish" and he "doesnt know what he is doing". Loki ends up having to go and tell Heimdal to block off the bifrost himself. He is also shown to lose sleep trying to start off the war preparatives. He gets stopped again and again on the basis of... Well... Being Loki. His advisors/generals dont act unless given a direct order. Morale is low bc nobody wants a king constantly pulling rank on them.

He even overhears the rummor that he killed Odin to steal the throne and that is the last straw.

Thor has essentially the same beats and stuff except for the turning point is not him failing at taking his hammer back, but actually giving the chance to try it up for rescuing Janes notebook. He also learns a skill while on earth. To show his progress beyond war. Probably some diy sort of situation. The Loki scene takes place while he is hammering some nails and he gets spooked and hits himself, Loki comments on his weakness.

The destroyer is sent to kill the w4 (it is implied that loki tried to send soldiers but they refused). Thor regains his powers bc he protects some randos that would b caught in the crossfire, bc the destroyer is not even accounting for humans nd neither are w4.

Darcy expresses her approval for the destroyers phisical form (something to the likes of "he can destroy me iykwim")

Frigga is shown to have the ability to kill Laufey but choses not to. Some random healers in the room manage to fucking get the jotuns ass handled to them. Loki maims Laufey, but keeps him alive to show his army how good of a soldier is. Bifrost is set to destroy Jotunheim and Laufey is forced to watch.

Bifrost fight goes as always, the preppy upbeat motifs of the romcom get mixed in w the dramatic of the asgardian plotline. The only difference is that the destroyer is still being kept on bay by the w4 at the same time.

When the bridge colapses we see one of Lokis gloves get lost in the depths of space dramatically.

The destroyer gets destroyed... By Jane taking Darcys taser and electrocuting that bad boi. It explodes.

Back on asgard they sre celebrating after the funeral. Thor gets pissed off bc why are they celebrating his brothers death?

Thor goes to the dungeons and we see that Laufey has mostly recovered from his injuries. He tells Thor the story of how Odin kidnapped his son for diplomacy reasons. Thor does not believe him much, but still comes down to visit bc it seems as if he is the only other person apart from him that is actually mourning Loki. This is, of course, setup for The Dark World when Loki and Laufey are in neighbouring cells.

Odin is not celebrating either. He is caressing the other glove that Loki left behind. He tells Thor his version of the Loki """""""""adoption""""""""". Thor does not believe his version either, and he finds himself bothered by this fact.

W4 are to be retrieved whenever the bifrost is fixed (thor is helping w his newfound diy skills).

Back on earth, we see that w4 and the midgard team are working/living together in some sort of hybrid of frienship and determination, the motifs of the midgard plotline and the asgard one are in harmony.

The post credit scene is Darcy having a shrine made for the Destroyer. A bunch of bolts, some pics etc. In the center there it is.

The destroyers butt survived the explosion.
