currently seeking.

some marauders era harry potter with a focus on their characters and their relationships with socio-political tension as the backdrop. i get really into expanding on the harry potter world both with the fantastical aspects of magic and the more gritty details of the wizarding world like economy and politics and social ideologies like pureblood supremacy. basically looking for a nice cathartic harry potter drama to run parallel with the bullshit we have going on irl with a pinch of lgbt romance thrown in. some feel good hurt-comfort as the characters grapple with their sense of right and wrong, family tension, friends they thought they could trust being seduced by voldemort’s movement and recruiting, et cetera. DRAMA!! LOVE!! ACTION!! adult wizards as the main characters but with flashbacks to their school days thrown in for funsies ( maybe they were friends back then, had a crush on each other, etc ).

i have plenty of other interests as well but that’s what i’m in the mood for at the moment. that being said if you have an idea you’re passionate about, preferably some kind of fantasy (urban, epic, historic, original world, fandom-based, whatever—) and you think we’d be a good fit, hmu anyways and tell me about it because enthusiasm is contagious and if we’re on the same wavelength, the genre doesn’t really matter. having similar preferences when it comes to the general how and what is more important to me than the genre or world.

requirements / rp preferences.

please read all of this section before messaging me. this is what will determine whether or not our interests—and rules—are compatible, thus saving us both a lot of time and trouble.

age requirement.   i’m in my twenties and i prefer other people in the 20-30 range. my characters are 21–36, sometimes older in ongoing rps where the characters have aged. i rarely write teenagers or ‘young adult’ genre rps ( vld is an exception ).

content.   i like to write mature content— and i don’t just mean smut. i love writing about complex social and political dramas, as well as interpersonal tension. other ‘dark’ content which may not appear in the rp itself, but may be mentioned in respect to my character’s pasts, include: crime, illness, loss, trauma, violence, drug use, and human sexuality. i’m also totally capable of writing action, bdsm, horror, gothic/spooky vibes, and gore—just not excessive/fetishy—but these are optional and can be left out if they’re not your cup of tea.

substance.   far more important than the length of a post, i’m looking for an rp partner who can contribute to the story and help keep the roleplaying moving forward— not someone who puts in the bare minimum and expects their partner to do all the work required to keep the rp interesting. i don’t mind taking point now and then, in fact I volunteer—! but i’m not looking to lead every interaction between our characters, come up with every plot twist, et cetera. i want a partner who wants to work together to create a fun rp. if you’re just looking for someone to write you a story and entertain you for free without any engagement or enthusiasm on your part, please spare me.

style.    my writing is character-driven. the way i like to set up roleplays is to have a basic concept for the story, then introduce characters who have their own agendas. the character should be able to exist on their own—as opposed to the types of characters who exist solely as plot devices, with no solid personality or history, changing from post to post to suit the whims of the writer. i’m not looking for someone who will break character just to get a desired result. basically i run my rps like a dungeons and dragons campaign. most of what i write is plot-driven scenarios meant to test the characters and their relationship(s) through a series of challenges and emotionally charged situations.

shipping.   romance isn’t necessary—our characters can be close platonic friends, rivals with a complicated relationship, or whatever else. but i do love romance and have a strong preference for it. i’m a queer man and i like to write mlm. my characters are all queer, whether they’re gay, bisexual, transgender, nonbinary, or something else. plus i love transgender, genderqueer, agender, genderfluid and nonbinary characters. and that’s that on that. i’m also down for the occasional non-heteronormative mxf. give me two flaming bisexuals disgusted at being perceived as ye old straight couple in public. i love that shit. but tbh i lean more towards mlm these days just because i already have plenty of good mxf romance in my life from media and i’m over here craving the kinda wholesome mlm content that doesn’t exist outside of fanfic and rps.

basic rules.   be chill, patient and respectful. my schedule is unpredictable. i’m pretty easy to catch for casual chats about the rp, but replies may only happen a couple times a week, with the occasional off-week when things are busy. on the other hand, there are occasionally days where i have time to do multiple replies—! it depends.
