Hi, I'm here again with a headcanon, scenario, one-shot something. I should really get a name for these things. Anyways, have some modern geraskier content set during the pandemic:

When the pandemic broke out, Jaskier had told himself he would focus on himself. He had put it off for way too long and now was the perfect time to do so, right?

Procrastinating was kind of his thing. And it took him one year into the health crisis, and one burn-out added to his list for him to finally make an official application to get time off work.

Apparently juggling his student job and pursuing a degree in sociology wasn't really the best combination, according to his therapist. When he met up with his physician, she gave him green light to take time off work and even suggested he take a sabbatical.

With no online classes to attend and no longer working in his local bookstore, Jaskier was forced to work on himself.

It was a harder challenge than he had anticipated. A lot harder.

Jaskier found himself lying in his bed more often than he was supposed to and ordering more take-out than his budget allowed. Sleeping in on the weekends turned into ignoring his alarm during the week, and eventually into not setting an alarm at all and waking up around noon.

He found himself ignoring everyone around him. So much to the point that going outside to buy some groceries had become too much. Suddenly, he had become awfully aware of the way he looked, how people perceived him, and the presence of others around him was suffocating.

At least he had found some comfort in creating art.

When he was younger he had always aspired to become a singer or an actor (in theatre specifically), but the wounds of his music teacher embarrassing him in front of the entire class were still too fresh. So he stayed away from music and rather focused on his drawing abilities and paintings.

His therapist told him that working with his hands and simply drawing whatever felt right could be cathartic. So, hey, staying up until the sun started shining outside because he was too focused on his painting was a therapist-approved coping method, right?

He still found it especially hard to put his art out there, but Triss, one of the only people who actually stayed by his side during the entire fiasco, had told him there were some amazing communities out there and suggested posting his Bloodborne fanart online. It was an old fandom and she was sure the bullies had long left the fandom.

And she was right. He was immediately met with loads of compliments and nice people messaging him, inviting him into their discord server for other Bloodborne fanartists.

It was nice. Comforting even to be able to socialize out of the comfort of his own home and have the option to leave whenever he wanted. Triss was a fan too. She told him he looked the best he had in a long time the next time they saw each other in person.

Life was bearable again, and he had made a couple of friends online over the span of the last couple of months. Some of them even invited them to their PlayStation party to engage in jolly cooperation in Bloodborne.

There was never a silent moment amongst them and Jaskier quickly became a regular to their daily gaming meet-ups.

A couple weeks in, Yennefer, the only one who managed to pull off an arcane build in the game, told them she recruited a new member of their party.

Geralt was a quiet person, but his build was flawless and he solo-ed the bosses with ease. Jaskier was amazed by his skill, and decided to message him outside of the party to ask how long he had been playing the game.

What started off as a casual talk, ended in them calling that same evening because they were so engaged in their conversation neither of them wanted to go to bed. Jaskier found himself drawn to the man's voice, and found great comfort in his presence. And he knew he had it bad when the following day he saw his phone light up with a message from Geralt.

They called again, and Geralt admitted he had been snooping through Jaskier's social media when he had gone to sleep. If anyone else had told him that, Jaskier would have been creeped out but instead, he found himself drawn to Geralt even more.

Geralt told him his art was the best he had seen and that it "really captured the bloodborne vibe". Jaskier was flattered already, but found his cheeks tinting pink when Geralt started following his tumblr and he realized that the Geralt he had been talking to was the well-known streamer under the name "thewhitewolf".

He was a fucking legend in the community. He held all the achievements, and records, and was known for being very critical of anything regarding the game. So for Geralt to compliment him, meant a whole lot.

"Are you still there?" Geralt sounded concerned while Jaskier was staring at his computer screen.

"Yeah." Jaskier shook his head. "I'm still here."

How was he supposed to act knowing that not only Geralt was basically a celebrity in nerd world, but he was fucking hot as hell too?

"You don't have to if you don't want to. It was just a suggestion since we've been talking a lot."

"No, no, no," Jaskier spluttered. "I just- fuck. I've been watching your videos a lot and I'm trying to process that, haha."

Turning on his camera had proven to be a challenge, but after Geralt's encouraging words, Jaskier managed to turn the front camera towards him and smiled at Geralt on his screen.

He had expected it to be awkward, and even though his cheeks were flushed the entire time while they talked, he enjoyed looking at Geralt while they talked. He enjoyed watching his stream as well, especially the face he made when he noticed Jaskier had joined the stream.

It was adorable, Jaskier thought.

The pandemic continued, and Jaskier found that the only thing he was looking forward to, was calling Geralt throughout the day. A bit pathetic in his opinion, but Triss thought it was cute. She even encouraged him to ask Geralt where he was from while they were on the phone.

Poland.

Fuck.

Jaskier realized he was crushing hard when he felt his stomach drop when Geralt told him that he was from a different continent. Triss saw it too, saw his face drop and his cheeks go pale.

She rubbed his back softly when tears rolled down his face once he hung up the phone.

He didn't even know if Geralt liked him, didn't even know if Geralt even liked men for that matter, but he had become so used to his presence that he found the idea of losing him because of the distance between them something that he couldn't deal with.

Triss told him he didn't have to worry, they would work it out. Even if it meant they would never meet.

But Jaskier couldn't live with that. So once the borders opened up, he called Geralt. He was in the middle of a stream, he knew that, hell he was watching his stream but he couldn't hold back his excitement.

During the months of spending time online, Geralt had also expressed his interest in meeting up once it was actually possible, but Jaskier still felt like the excitement was probably a bit one-sided.

Jaskier was ready to leave a message on Geralt's voice-mail but almost choked on his spit when he heard Geralt's voice sweetly greet him.

"Hi," Jaskier croaked out. He fidgeted with the hem of his shirt as he looked at the stream again. Geralt hadn't paused it. He was calling him in the middle of his broadcast with thousands of people watching. Fucking hell.

"What's up?" Geralt sounded concerned, he looked worried too as he was rocking back and forth on his gaming chair.

"I uhm- I'm sorry to interrupt your stream," he said.

"It's okay. Is something the matter?"

God, he was fucking perfect, wasn't he?

"Yes. Well... no, but yes," Jaskier laughed, smile stretching wider when he saw Geralt smile on screen. "Uhm. Flights in and outside of America are possible again. They just announced it."

"Really?"

Geralt's voice sounded calm, but Jaskier saw his face lit up on the stream. The chat was wondering what the call was about and even mentioned that he was probably calling his girlfriend. One chatter even mentioned they wished their boyfriend looked at them like that.

Jaskier's cheeks turned crimson and he chewed the inside of his cheek while he waited for Geralt to react.

"That's great," he said, accent thick in his voice. "You should come. If you want."

Jaskier immediately answered. "Yes. Yes, I will. Oh my God, I will."

He caught the first flight that left the country to Europe. It would be the first time he was leaving the States.

Triss told him to be safe, and to immediately call him once he landed. He had given Triss' number to Geralt in case of an emergency and that had definitely eased her nerves.

Jaskier wasn't sure what to expect. Should he hug Geralt when he came to pick him up from the airport? Should he go for a handshake because 'that's what bros do?'

It was too confusing.

He probably should have been honest to Geralt about his undying crush on him before taking the plane, but it was too late now.

"I've landed." Jaskier texts Geralt while he is waiting for his luggage to arrive.

He doesn't get a reply. Instead, he gets a notification on his phone that he doesn't have service here.

Great.

Amazing.

He's in a country where he can barely speak a word except for the few phrases Geralt has taught him over the span of their friendship, and he doesn't have any service.

Grumbling, and slightly nauseous, Jaskier goes through customs and steps outside. Geralt said he would meet him outside because it might be hard to recognize each other with their masks still on.

There is a part of him that is still expecting to be stood up, that Geralt is fake and not even a real person, but once he catches a glimpse of a tall white-haired figure his heart beat accelerates.

Geralt is even prettier in person, and Jaskier finds himself fighting back tears when he realizes it's in fact him. Geralt. The person he has been talking to for months, the one who helped him get through his slump and encouraged him to pursue his art career.

"Hey," Geralt says. His hair was half-up, and his smile would make anyone in a five-mile radius fall in love with him. And God, his scent. Geralt smells amazing, like pine trees.

It brings Jaskier an even bigger sense of comfort and he finds himself launching forward, body moving on its own and practically jumpings in Geralt's arms.

"Hi," he croaks out. Geralt is soft too, and warm. Oh so warm. And his touch is too much to handle. It's so careful when Geralt is stroking the back of Jaskier's neck. "Hi," Jaskier says again.

He's forced to look up when he feels a soft hand caressing his cheek and cupping his jaw.

Geralt doesn't say a word, and he doesn't need to. He simply kisses Jaskier's cheek and hums when Jaskier does the same.

The air is freezing around him, but Jaskier finds himself warmer than he has ever been. His cheeks burn when he connects his lips with Geralt's, and his fingers warm up against Geralt's cheeks.

I don’t know if you’ve already answered this but is there a reason for why you draw Viktor (pre Machine Herald) taller than Jayce? I know you aren’t drawing Arcane’s Viktor and I know Machine Herald is 6’2 while Jayce is 6’0 but I haven’t been able to find anything about his height before he evolved. Am I thinking too much about this and it’s actually just an artistic style? Or like, maybe it’s just the way you like (or are used to) to draw? him

Generally speaking: there is no Hard Canon explanation for it, Its something I've chosen because I think a lanky bodytype suits him (my leaguevik has messed about with hormones way earlier as well) and its cute, like a long flappy stringpuppet!

But on a completely different axis:

I started to get genuinely uncomfortable with the ways fandom would exaggerate arcane's height difference, more often than not babyfying or ukefying viktor (or professing him to be "Inherently More Effeminate" via stature) to make jayvik fit very limiting cishet gender role boxes. This comes paired with the "aggressor cis jayce" tropes and is Very Common and I wasn't vibing with it at all. The other thing it sidesteps is the overwhelming anorexia-chic style of vik fanart; you can draw thin people without making them look like proana adverts and I've seen a fair share of depictions of him that struck me in a *really* weird idolizing the consumption and pain way. Making him into a long rectangle gets rid of that. And tbh it also feels like people take his character more seriously when he's not something that can be easily sorted into the above categories? I dont want my fanwork to feel like it's playing into these tropes, or feeding into the cycle where they are The Only Thing Allowed To Ever Exist.

My league designs are a conscious effort to make things I don't see often. I want to make ship art without it being a determinist "so THIS is the top and THIS is the bottom" sentence. It's not how I interface with my sexuality and I personally don't think its how jayce or viktor would go about it either. Distancing myself from common fanon signifiers and their expected baggage allows my audience to embark in this beautiful wubbyland adventure with me, and also helps me not go completely insane

....okay so Tumblr's gonna crop the pic I put a lot of effort into drawing and coloring and detailing fucking SWEET. Edit: okay so it was just in making the post fucking fabulous thanks for the heart attack Tumblr 🖕

Anywho, I'm a firm believer in Butch Sevika, but then @sevikasleftpussyflap showed me this fanart of Sevika (and Jinx) in an evening gown and I have seen the light.

Gonna throw more close ups under the cut and some rambling about design because I am a fashion and character design nerd!

Also tagging @sxpphicfxiry for what I hope are obvious reasons.

So, while I LOVE the look she's wearing in the fanart I linked above, I wanted to design something that had more call back to her outfit in Arcane -specifically her cape/cloak bc red/maroon is such a gorgeous color on her, and because I thought it'd be a color nod to her original outfit design.

I also changed up her hairstyle because I thought it'd be fun and fitting for presumably what is a formal event.

I also wanted to add some body jewelry -in keeping with the theme from the linked fanart-because I love the contrast of Sevika's overall build and demeanor with the delicate, fragile chains. I went with gold because I thought it'd flatter her skin tone nicely, and because her cloak in the show has gold accents iirc.

I landed on the diamond/rhombus design by accident (which you see in the clasps of the jewelry and the structure of the hair piece and her "rings"). My main goal was having something that looked like a matched set because she deserves something nice -and because I also LIVE for Sugar Baby!Sevika where she has a wealthy Piltover GF to dote on her. If I were to do something like this again, I'd probably try to design something that infers her character more -possibly something gear shaped that would allude to her arm. But, for something I was just trying to whack out quick for my own satisfaction, I'm pleased with the results.

I kept the choker look she has going from Arcane because I think it looks fabulous on her, and the ring piece she's wearing -in my mind-can also function as brass knuckles because I love jewelry that is also functional to the character's role in the story. And also because I think Sevika would like/invest in fancy brass knuckles so that if she has to beat someone up at a ritzy gala, she can.

God I hope that you can click on the picture and it'll show you the whole thing or that the cropping is only in the post creation bc I actually put effort in on the shoes fUCKING DAMMIT.

This is mostly to show detail on the thigh jewelry and also LEG (mady, you're welcome).

All in all, I'm pleased with how this came out! I used markers for most of the piece -the dress, cloak, her body and hair, and the leather bands on the jewelry pieces are all marker. The trim on the dress and cloak, along with the base for the chains are done in colored pencil; I also warmed up her skin with some blended down colored pencil bc the tone of the markers were looking a little gray to my eye. I used a metallic gold gel pen to add some shine to certain parts of the jewelry, but that wasn't flashy enough, so I used some gold acrylic paint and white acrylic paint to add highlights to her jewelry.

I think I need to do this again. I've got an idea for a gear-themed look -in terms of jewelry-that I'd pair a blue dress in bc I think she'd look gorgeous with blue. Also @sevikasleftpussyflap mentioned a look of Sevika wearing a tight, skimpy body con dress and now it lives rent free in my head.

I did this piece over I think about a week? I wanna say it took between 3-5 hours in total.

Hello!! Sorry for the wait, I wanted to get home to access my pc for an old pic I wanted to share.

1.) What canon character(s) do you love to draw the most? (And why?)

Tech (isn't it obvious? 🤓). I cannot articulate why though. I just get a good feeling when I draw him. I think it has to do with the fact that he's my current fictional crush. However, I do enjoy drawing modern au version of him the most. Why? Even when I don't want to, I have a tendency to comply to canon sources as much as possible. In a modern au, that is not an issue and I have a lot more creative freedom, so that's why I like it. And also he's totally not maybe dead there so 🤷‍♀️😅 also why is he such a good looking model?

2.) What do you think makes your art iconic?

Last time I was active on tumblr, I think I was known for my use of very vibrant and saturated choice of colours. Also I used to highlight the lineart with fully saturated CMY colours. I’ve never seen anyone else do that at the time, so I think it was very recognisable. And since I really like you, I wanna share an old piece of art made in 2016 (looking through old art is embarrassing, but this was probably the peak of my fanart career tbh haha) ❤.

As of right now though, I don’t feel like my art is iconic in any way. I don’t think I’ve drawn enough to have something recognisable going for me.

8. Are there artists that inspire you (and maybe shaped the way you draw your art)?

This is a hard one 😅 I completely stepped away from art during 2018, and when I returned I sort of just continued on with what I knew from before. But since it had been such a long time, I don’t remember what artists influenced me or shaped my art to make it like it is today. Rather than specific artists, I think I was more inspired by art styles, if that makes sense? I started with anime and manga, and then I tried to transition to a more semi-realistic style as I grew up. I was really into the art of my favourite games at the time, which were Overwatch and World of Warcraft. Also I think the art style of Arcane is so very lovely, I think I’d like to emulate it more in my current paintings.

9. How many drafts you have right now, be honest-

In recent time, maybe…that time I posted a sketch of Tech with an exposed neck and shoulders and the absolutely feral responses I got from the denizens of this site 😂 It happened on the art blog, and unfortunately I've deleted the post when I cleaned it up 😢
