you know, there's a lot of art (both as an actual art and fanfiction) in phandom that elaborates and deepens the relationship between danny and ghosts, and not much about ghosts and everybody else. there's some things about vlad and danielle and jazz and surprisingly mr. lancer (?), and that's usually it. and honestly, good for you all, the things i saw were really fascinating, genuinely.
but like. i would DIE to see more about the relationship between sam and dora. the parallels alone are??? ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES, I'M TELLING YOU.
i want them to be friends. i want them to be kindred spirits. i want sam to treat dora's kingdom as a safe heaven, a calm harbor where she can simply be, with no expectations and daunting responsibilities. i want dora to teach sam how to differentiate fabrics by feel alone, how to dance with her eyes closed and all the different messages flowers can tell. i want her to tell sam about that time sir albert made a fool of himself trying to oppose a new economic reform, talk about all the economic, legal and political reforms she's been making in all it's excruciating detail and then to teach her the perfect curtsy.
i want sam to show dora how to tend to a garden. to show her the joy of watching a new life grow and knowing that you did this, that you hands can be gentle and loving, that you were not born to hurt. i want them to recite poetry to each other, to argue and debate and discuss, to find a meaning where the words before were empty, to offer an angle never thought before. i want sam to teach dora how to skate, be it skates, rollerblades or a scateboard, and dora being absolutely terrible at it and yet still doing it everytime they meet because it makes them laugh.
i just think they'd be really good friends, if given a chance.

Grand babbee cardassian has broken me… also more Jocasta content pls we love a quiet queen
GRANPA GARAK! A DISIPLINARIAN!
He gets up early every day to pick fresh fruit from the garden for his grandkids. Elim III is his Little Regnar. Lim thinks he's going to spoil them rotten (the orphanage and the dirt floor gardening shed that they lived in was CHARACTER BUILDING. it made him the MAN HE IS TODAY.)
JOCASTA LOVE.... she's truly an underrated queen.. here maam ms head scrub nurse you dropped your crown 👑
She cares about outward presentation as much as any Cardassian, but especially hair (cardassian hair being much thicker and coarser than human fur.)
also she refers to julian as Dr Bashir at work just out of propriety and respect. most people don't know that they're father and daughter simply because she does not care to tell them. they just think she's his favorite because she's good at her job and gently takes no shit
^ scenes that play before the least pleasant vacation miles has ever been on

It's 100% true that the Roy siblings did not choose to be Logan's children and Tom and Greg and the old guard did choose to work for him so their relationships to Logan are fundamentally different, and the degree of culpability they bear for their own moral degradation is also wildly different. But workplace emotional abuse is also very real and omnipresent in the way Logan treats the people who work for him. And one of the impacts of workplace emotional abuse is creating an extreme attachment to the abuser and becoming less cognizant and even defensive of their abuse towards yourself and others, and in cases where the emotional abuse is institutionalized and systemic it can also create a strong aversion to leaving because your whole sense of personal identity becomes wrapped up in the organization and so being forced to leave can cause an intense psychological crisis. I don't think the situation of working for Logan is at all equivalent to being his child but I also think that it's a bit misguided to imply that Tom and Gerri and Frank and Karl are operating from a place of pure rationality without any undue psychological influences when they make the choice to stay with and support Logan

i think dean is someone who really panics when he the people he cares about aren’t in his line of sight / presence. like watching people leave (not even in the dramatic sense, like. just leaving the house / where he can see them) freaks him out. he’s gotten used to masking it really well at this point so like. no one knows but it manifests in little controlling actions and anger which obvs is annoying to other people like dean NEEDS to know where sam is going when, when he expects to be back, he NEEDS cas to check in when he’s gone for longer than a few hours and it’s yes, deeply rooted in his abandonment issues but also. extremely rooted in his fear as a child that whenever john walked out the door might be the last....like he literally was a little kid waiting anxiously and scared shitless for his dad to come back from hunts, knowing that it was very very possible he might never come back. like kid dean has bobby and pastor jim’s numbers memorized and knows that if john’s not back / doesn’t check in after three weeks (long, long after the grocery money has run out) he’s supposed to call them. anyways. yeah...so dean seeing someone walk out the door. instantly flooded with anxiety and freeze response
