i want wukong to cry in the special i want him to sob i want him to break down i want him to be confronted i want him to be shocked into tears i want him to be so relieved he just shatters i just want wukong to cry

i want him to be confronted by mk, to be forced into realizing where and how he's messed up, to realize why he wasn't fixing anything by sacrificing himself and i just want him to break bc he just feels so helpless and he was trying to do what was right

i want him to be aware of his actions while possessed, to be forced to watch as he attacks the people he cares about. i want him to have tiny moments where he takes control and tells them to "run!" and "leave me here!" and "it's not worth it!" with his voice cracking and tears in his eyes. i want him to have tears running down his face even as his face is blank and his body moves against his will

i want him to be saved by everyone else, to look up at them at them end of it, and break. i want him to fall to his knees, forehead against the ground and hands gripping his hair, and sob out apologies and pleas for forgiveness. i want him to be surprised when they don't leave him behind. i want him to try and fail to put up a strong, happy face

i want wukong to cry like it's the only thing left that he's able to do.

How does Wukomg react to being betrayed by the people he thought he could trust? How did Macaque betray Wukong? What are the consequences of these differences that can be seen to the modern day? Is Nezha in the au? I definitely do not have a favourite

Also, is the Ivory Lady Guanyin? That's what I found online but I'm still not sure.

Anyways, your work is always really interesting and I love reading about the things you come up with

first and foremost: the Ivory Lady is Lady Bone Demon before she went against Heaven to start her "journey" to complete her destiny.

When Wukong realizes people are betraying him — the first time isn't too bad, more or less, because he's sort-of betrayed by the Jade Emperor since he was lied to about his status. Second time is by Azure when he realizes he only used him to start a war against Heaven to try and take the Emperor's throne which cuts him deep enough to attack the Jade Emperor himself (directed blame/hate), third is by Erlang when he prevents Wukong from killing the Jade Emperor and the final one is by Macaque, which... kills a part of Wukong, ngl.

Nezha is involved in the AU and it's actually part of the reason why Wukong goes more berserk in the war against Heaven than he originally did.

Something, something, "you're just a boy... why is there a boy here, Azure, why did you send me to fight a child—"

(as for Macaque betraying Wukong, it involves a very selfish act based off the idea that Wukong was visited by Macaque when he was trapped under the mountain but those interactions were bitter)

Those consequences are... very evident in how people (yaoguai and yaojing included) see Wukong as an anti-hero instead of a normal hero. He's got a reputation of being powerful and praised, sure, but they're also terrified of him

finally finished orv after two years . . . what do i do with my life now

What I want most in the entire world is for Sun Wukong to slowly be more included in the LMK gang

After a life-threatening event (post LBD, after the scroll, etc), MK and his friends usually share a group hug. A family hug! And Sun Wukong stays out of it, either walking away or just standing there and watching them

I want SWK to start hanging out around them a little more, either because they're stuck together due to yet another world ending event or something else, to the point where they start to warm up to him (and he starts to warm up to them) and begin to like him a little more

Honestly if we get more than 5 seasons (which please please please let them be well-done, don't let the sequel curse affect LMK too) then I'd like this to be long. Let's say, in one season he hangs out with them and they begin to at the very least tolerate him, in another season they become a little more closer and pretty much already consider him some kind of friend and then at the end of the next season he's already one of their best friends

And it has to end in yet another group hug scene! One where when Sun Wukong smiles fondly and walks away to let the family have their moments in peace, someone (let it be anyone who isn't MK, just to show how MK isn't SWK's only friend [besides the monkeys in FFM. And not counting any god or being he is friendly with because we know he doesn't see those much] anymore) calls out to him and says, “Where the fuck are you going. This is a group hug, it doesn't work if the whole group isn't in it” and he smiles (let him cry dammit) and joins in

i was working on chapter 5 and almost started crying????

#constellations fic #idk it's after 9 but like #it hit me when i was writing a particular scene in chapter 5 like #how much has happened...not just to these gay monkeys but like to me personally but mostly #just...how hard MK has worked and how he truly wanted them to be friends again #and i just think about how mk is and who he is and how #friendship is so important to him and he knows how powerful it is #how he turns to his friends for help as soon as he can now #and he's learned not to hide things from them anymore #and he just fully embraces that there are things he cannot do on his own #he needs them...and they need him #and i just got emotional and almost started crying because #wukong and macaque talked!! and they wouldn't have if not for MK #and just how far he's come and how far they've come and how much has happened #it's been such a long journey and now that we're at the end i'm just getting emotional #chapter 5 is like wrapping all this stuff up and i just get a little sobby every time i finish a scene im not okay actually #i love this fic a lot. i learned a lot about myself and my limitations #and just how important writing is to me #and im really glad i wrote this...and that i could share it

'Help' au Chapter 3. (part one)

The journey to the heavenly palace was short. Macaquea hope filled his heart. Throughout the journey, he stared at his king. He didn't consider losing him. And when it came, he convinced himself that he would drag Wukong's soul back to the earthly world. Even if he fails, he will find a way. The pain that Monkey King was feeling stopped for a moment. During the journey, he was relaxed in the arms of his beloved. He just realized how tired he is from all this journey west and he wants to rest. Though deep down, he was terrified of death. After all his efforts to become immortal and protect those he loved, would it all be in vain? He couldn't understand himself. Something was telling him to let go, to stop fighting, maybe he would have even done so if it wasn't for the presence of his buddy who gave him the strength to survive. Guain had a sense of responsibility for the golden monkey, she had maternal feelings for him and felt guilty for what had happened, because she was the one who gave the monk the crown and did not foresee the consequences of her choice.

The heavenly palace was huge, full of golden ornaments. He was floating in a sea of pure white clouds. Outside was a single, huge door with golden handles. Guain's lotus landed next to this door. The goddess and the monkeys descended from it and then stood for a short while in front of the huge door. Wukong pulled his staff out of his ear. Macaquea raised an eyebrow at the king.

''Come on? You can't carry me in your arms all the time,' said the blond monkey.

"Would you like" the warrior told him with a sly smirk and "Ready?" Wukong nodded then pushed the door hard which caused the king to fall down but pretended nothing happened. He leaned against the staff. "You know what, maybe I'll do it," said Macaquea and pushed the door hard causing it to swing open. They saw a huge throne room. The ceiling was supported by rows of huge columns. At the very end, the emperor sat on the throne, who initially did not pay attention to the arrivals, because at the same time one of the advisers was rearranging something. The Emperor listened to this with a serious face and concentration. Next to the throne stood Erlang and Nezha. The taller one was visibly irritated, while the child god was more bored with the adviser's entire lecture. As the guests stood before the row of the emperor's advisers, they were noticed by the celestials. The emperor made a gesture with his hand, indicating that the adviser should stop talking. The advisors glided along the side's cavalry and kept a close eye on the newcomers. And Erlang and Nezha perked up for this meeting. The emperor surveyed the guests and then spoke: ''Hello Guain, Sun Wukong and six-eared Macaquea. What brings you here? Has some demon attacked again and you can't deal with it alone?" he said the last sentence mockingly. Erlang smiled jokingly as if mocking Monkey King. If Wukong had had the strength, he would have responded with a riposte, but he could barely stand up, leaning against his staff. Guain stepped forward and said politely, "Forgive us for coming without comment, but we have a very important request for help..." Erlang interrupted her. "What kind of prompt request is this?"

Bc my god all of them have personalities that by the end of the book you just don’t want the journey to end. (Like there’s moments where u can glimpse into their daily life and wonder if they always had done it this way or this just spur of the moment—such as when theyre getting supplies n u see tang sanzang feeling guilty for not helping and wanting to help. ALSO THE TIME WHERE SWK BASICALLY PUT ZHU BAJIE IN TIME OUT WHILE HE N SHA WUJING WENT TO GET SUPPLIES SHHSHSH

At least they end up sticking together tho🥹🥹

ETRHDRGSEAWAFERSGD i think if we can agree to anything it's that the unedited version of Xiyouji really is a masterclass example on how if you genuinely want your characters to be complex then you really need to spare the time and effort to let that complexity shine through.

Because YEAH i've been fully guilty of it myself in describing Tang Sanzang as a weepy whiner who falls off his horse all the time and Zhu Bajie as naught but the massive pervert of the group BUT THEN if you start thinking about the stuff they are explicitly written as having gone through then you have to acknowledge that there's a lot more going on with them than that & all the many many MANY reasons for why they act they way they do besides their personal failings, and yes in the end it does leave you with characters where you can appreciate who they are while still acknowledging their faults & who you want to see in all kinds of extra situations in addition to the +1400 pages that we get.

I mean as it is i've heard that the Chinese side of the Xiyouji fandom regularly gets into debates as to what the pilgrims were eating at specific locations during the journey argetewr.

#though funny story anon one of the reasons why sun wukong is one of my favorite characters is because he DID face many consequences #like i am so gosh dern tired of characters who pull some fuckshit & get an insta-redemption b/c they were sad or whatever #and well that is like the exact opposite of what you get with the monkey king #but yeah i remember being kind of baffled by the sheer extent to which zhu bajie seems to be beloved in china #but it does make sense in a lot of ways #even just in terms of him giving voice to what any one of us would probably think about the journey being too long #& wanting to go back home asfreawrew #and yes as i've said before in regards to tang sanzang #we can make fun of him all we like #but besties you would cry too if it happened to you #anon answered #xiyouji #journey to the west #jttw

I saw on Wikipedia that Lady Yin might have been a reincarnation of one of the Jade Emperor's daughters, making Erlang Shen her cousin. Is that why Erlang is Nezha's uncle in Stolen AU or is it because him and Lady Yin are friends? Also I hope Devaraja Li gets punched in the face :)

Author’s Note: Both of these theories are correct, and then some. He is a distant relative of Lady Yin while also having a friendship despite being apart for a few years now.

What is most important, though, is that the term 'uncle' here is used because he will become Nezha's primary guardian when she can no longer be there for him. This is the heartbreaking truth behind this sweet little interaction.
