Pokemon oc's except it's actually about the pokemon( not an introduction just something fun).
Vivian, Jin's Sceptile, much like her trainer, shares the role of Team Mom/Parent
Though each team is their own found family, though some are less willing to say that( *cough* some Pokemon in Jude's Team*cough*)
There's some pokemon that are considered duo's/ trio's due to their friendship or battle tendencies.
Some examples
Theo, Danica's Infernape and Risa, her Lopunny, are a tag team of their own cause not only because their friendship, but of how they cover each other in battle. Theo is not very confrontational, thus preferring ranged attacks( Timid), where Risa is confrontational, and will get down and dirty.
If it's just the two of them fighting together, they often so for a bait and switch , or their favorite; literally giving the opponent no time to breathe.
Risa would assault her opponents with a fury of blows only to jump out of the way for a very planned flamethrower from Theo. They give no time to make sense of anything.
Another due is Z( Eva/N's Zoroark) and Beatrice, her Jellicent. Now, game wise, Z would disguise himself as Beatrice given she was always last in the party. But out of game, it was kinda him just pulling pranks on her and whatnot. Though soon enough the pranks turn genuine ways of comfort and the two now have a sibling like relationship!( Fun fact: Beatrice is the youngest of the group)
Battle wise, it's very amusing to see enemies to fall for Z's illusions. Even funnier when Eva switches to the real Beatrice and she wipes everyone ( Jellicent is actually really good guys)
Last duo! Kai and Luca! In an old post on my main blog, I mentioned that Luca was Kai's second in command! Also her boyfriend/ husband depending on what I'm talking about. T
Despite Luca's species, he's a VERY good strategist( thanks to his Careful nature). You will often see him and Kai conversing about plans for battle. if Alexis is not their, and even if he was, the two would have some sort of input if theirs time before battle. During battle they two just get each other, and as Red says " words are unnecessary!"
Also their just, like, the parents/ older siblings of the group. And a wonderful couple who may or may not already have a kid👀
I want to get into the rest if their team but that's for later.
Zulu, Eva's Crobat, can not fucking die.
She lived a stab psychic from Caitlin's Reuniclus, and fucking lived on red hp. She took not one, but two fusion flares from Reshiram, who was 12 levels from her. THIS BITCH CANNOT DIE.
Both Remy, Aster's Decidueye, and Neptune, Naomi's Inteleon, both are just a big fan of food. They get all gushy about the flavors they like. It's very ironic given Remy's stoic seriousness, and Neptune's charisma and level-headedness.
Both are also very much babies, as much like their trainers, the are the 'youngest' of the starters.
They very much crave their trainers affection/ praise and get all mushy when they do they're spoiled
Terra, Kenji's Mamoswine,Eggo, his togekiss, and Buddy, his Arcanine are very fluffy and are the often used for warmth when traveling.
Tatum, his Feraligatr, is a big ol softy. She loves battling, yes, but when it comes down to it, she really wouldn't hurt a fly :3
Bubbles and Aura, Jin's Azumarill and Alakazam respectively are opposites on a scale. Bubbles is more than ready to punch a person and nothing is gonna stop her( Adamant), where Aura is more used to using his mind to get things done, and isn't the one to brag( Modest). Both are equally sassy.
Okay that's all for now! Hope you enjoyed this!

Naomi's ( Main) Team
Tumblr media
Naomi has 3 teams, including this one, but this one is the one she caught and raised during her challenge. So without further ado....
Name: Neptune
Gender: " Male. He/ Him pronouns"
Species: Inteleon
Nature and Characteristics: Docile and Loves to Eat
Bio: Naomi's right hand mon. Both going through similar arcs of they're own, the two are inseparable. He's grown up a lot since he was a Sobble, oozing with the cool calm collectiveness as a leader now. It took him a lot to realize how good of a leader he is. He wasn't as energetic or loud as the other two starters, y'know? When he was a Sobble he just...cried and hid. Sometimes he wonders why Naomi chose him, but he's forever grateful. As an Inteleon, again, he's more confident now, no thanks to the support if his trainer and his team. He loves all of them dearly. He hopes that they can have many more battles to come, champion or not!
Name: Eloise
Gender: " Female, governor". she/her
Species: Corviknight
Nature and Characteristics: Brave and has a study body
Bio: ((Note: just wanted to say that ever since watching Chuggaconroys playthrough of Xenoblade Chronicles 2, I fully believe that a human Eloise would sound just like Morag. Okay, on with the bio))
If Neptune is Naomi's right hand mon, then Eloise is Neptune's right hand mon. Woman. Wing? Bird? Whatever, the point is that she's been with with Neptune and Naomi from the start. In the early days of their travels, she was the one who took up the leadership role, due to Neptune's timidness and Naomi's lack of self-confidence. Though she never once hated them for it,and tried her best to encourage the both of them to be the best they can be. Even if it means pecking they're heads every so often. Now, with all of them fully evolved, she couldn't be any more proud. Eloise is often seen as the protector of the group. The big sis. She cares for her team and her trainer. That being said: if any harm comes to her teammates or her trainer or both, she will not hesitate to act. You have been warned.
Name: Xena
Gender: " I'm just a wee lass, love" she/they
Species: Toxtricity
Nature and Characteristics: Calm and mischievous
Bio: Don't be fooled by her unassuming nature, this frog( ?) has a pranking streak and you might be her next victim. Fortunately her pranks aren't harmful, just mild inconveniences, like adding lots of Cheri berries to make the curry way hotter than it needs to be. Xena can be a bit spoiled, given that she was the baby of the group for a while, and thus being used to being babied( which also fueled her desire to become more independent). Other than her harmless pranks, Xena's pretty chill, always going with the flow. She loves hanging Marnie and Piers when they do, getting to rock out now and again. She's totally not trying to set up Naomi and Marnie together. Nope. She would never. Speaking of setting up.
Name: Luna
Gender: ".....female" she/her
Species : Hatterene
Nature and Characteristics: Quiet and Alert to Sounds
Bio: Emotions can be so loud. So negative. It's one of the reasons why Luna prefers Sebby. Yes he's loud, and sometimes annoying, but he's so.....him. So positive. Also because he's her baby brother and she generally prefer him over others. Until they both join Naomi's team. At first, Luna hated Naomi. Not because she was a bad trainer and unworthy of her attention, far from it. Even as a small Hatenna she could see the potential her newfound trainer had. The problem was the large amounts of self-doubt and self-loathing that ticked her off. It was practically oozing out of her! Ugh. She can't deal with that. It's.....too much. But it bothered her. How an obvious strong and kind person would think so low of herself. At the time, Luna thought it was stupid. To feel such a way, and was just planning to run off with Sebby when it was dark. But Sebby, her beloved Sebby, latched on to his trainer and refused to let go. Because of course he would do that. It's Sebby. So Luna stayed. And she watched. And, begrudgingly, warmed up to her trainer. And the rest of the team. And, somehow, engaged in a committed relationship with Xena. How? She doesn't know, but if any harm comes to her girlfriend she will see red. Ahem. Ever since she joined the team, Luna is more .....open to the idea of emotions. They're still loud. Still annoying, but they're.....nice. Even the negative ones. That's just what brings humans and pokemon together, hm?
Name: Sebastian "Sebby"
Gender: " Naomi says I'ma good boi!" He/Him
Species: Grimmsnarl
Nature and Characteristics: Jolly and Alert to Sounds
Bio: A good boi. The goodest boi. What a lad. When he first met Naomi and the gang,he didn't want to leave. Partially because he was just so excited to meet new people and make new friends! And because Naomi was going through some things when he and Luna was caught, and as an impidimp, he thrived off it. Now keep in mind this wasn't by his own will! When Luna broke it down for him after the fact he felt incredibly bad! (He couldn't let go of Naomi for an hour.) Even when Naomi gained more and more confidence in herself, Sebby stilled thrived. He's so happy that his trainer was loving herself the way he lived her! Just seeing her happy makes his day! He loves his team, both him and Xena like pulling pranks on the others( much to Luna's annoyance) and he really looks up to Neptune and Eloise! ( I say that as if they're really old or something lol). It may come as a surprise to some that Sebastian is a strategic thinker, often the one implementing strategies for the team( Luna's so proud). He's not afraid to fight dirt, btw. He's still a Grimmsnarl. Though no one would seem to notice given his cheery personality.
Name: Prince Yuki
Gender/Pronouns: " I am prince!" He/they
Species: Frosmoth
Nature and Characteristics: Hardy and proud of his power.
Bio: Is he an actual prince? Wouldn't you like to know. Yuki, despite his claims to be a prince, his a lot more humble than he lets off. Most of his ego comes from his battle prowess( he was considered to be the "strongest snom" on route 8). This cockiness had lead him into some trouble, particularly given who is considered the leader of the team, though no one really took his claims to leadership seriously....well. Except Sebastian. Now Yuki isn't stupid. He knows that no one truly believes his claims that he's royalty, nor that he had the skills to be a good leader. It infuriates him to no end, but it's something that he has long accepted. But Sebastian was different. He listened. He helped him train. He called him " His Majesty" or "My prince". He believed him truly. And soon his actions spread across the team. Of course by the time he evolved, Yuki was fine with them not using the title prince everytime given how close they all gotten, but it was still nice to be taken seriously! He never really got that before. And it all started with Sebas- Sebby. It all started with Sebby. Sometimes, at night, when everyone is outside of their pokeballs, camping out, Yuki would sleep close to Sebby. Usually he would hate getting close to anyone while he sleeps, given it gives him unnecessary warmth. But he makes Sebby the one exception.

The Most Important Thing
Summary: After Leon loses the championship match, there's no one better to keep him company than his little brother. After all, Hop knows him better than anyone - and he knows what it feels like to lose.
Length: 1,282 words
Or, if you’d prefer: [Read on Ao3] [Read on FFN]
“What a powerful Max Geyser from Inteleon – will Charizard be able to survive it?”
Charizard lets out a pained cry and falls forward, catching itself on one arm. Hop holds his breath. C’mon, Charizard, you can do it, hang in there–
But Hop’s silent encouragement isn’t enough. As rain clouds gather and begin to pour their contents onto the battlefield, Charizard loses the last bit of strength it had left. It falls forward, glowing with red light and returning to normal size.
Charizard has fainted. Lee has been defeated. The unbeatable Champion has finally been dethroned.
It seems surreal – straight out of a dream. Hop feels lightheaded and dizzy. It takes him a moment to realize that’s because he’s still holding his breath. He takes in a big gulp of air and slowly lets it out, trying to wrap his head around the idea that his Champion brother is no longer the Champion anymore.
But Lee holds the new Champion’s hand up high, the crowd goes wild, and excitement bubbles up in Hop’s chest. Because it’s not just anyone who beat his brother – it’s Gloria. His best mate and best rival. There’s no one who deserves the title of Champion more than her. If Lee has to lose to someone, Hop is glad that it’s to Gloria.
The new and old Champions have left the field, so people are starting to leave the stands. Gloria’s mum turns to Hop. “Come on, we should go congratulate Gloria on her victory!”
Hop nods in agreement, and the pair join the throng of people heading towards the lobby to catch a glimpse of the new Champion.
However, when they reach the intersection that splits between the two locker rooms, Hop pauses. Most of the crowd is heading right, towards the challengers’ locker room. But Lee has his own locker room to the left, and there are a lot fewer people heading in that direction. Hearing how the ex-Champion feels about his loss isn’t as interesting of a story as learning about the new Champion, after all. Even if it is the first time that he’s ever lost an official League match.
For once, Hop has a little more experience than his brother in that department.
And if Lee’s anything like him…he could use some company right now.
He taps Gloria’s mum on the shoulder. “Hey, I’m gonna go see Lee first,” he says, pointing to the left hallway. “I’ll catch up to you in a bit?”
Gloria’s mum gives him a knowing smile. “That’s a great idea,” she says. “Take your time. Gloria isn’t going anywhere.”
Hop flashes her a grateful grin and slips out of the crowd, heading down the hallway to Lee’s locker room. Flashing his Challenge Band is enough to get the League staff to allow him inside. It’s practically identical to the challengers’ locker room, but it has a warm red-and-yellow color scheme instead of dull white-and-gray that normally makes Lee and his regal red cape look right at home.
But now…Lee looks as out of place in this locker room as a Thievul in a field of Wooloo. He’s sitting on the bench in the center of the room, holding a staring contest with his shoes. His shoulders are slumped, his cape is dragging on the floor, and his head is bowed so low that Hop can’t see the crown pattern on the brim of his cap. Is this what defeat looks like on him? Hop hates it. The unbeatable Champion, the shining star of Postwick, the big brother of Galar – it feels so wrong to see him look so disheartened.
Good thing Hop is here to fix that, then.
“Lee!”
Lee startles out of his staring contest and whips his head around to face Hop. “Hop? What are you doing here?”
Hop glances from side to side with comically large eyes. “Oops, I was looking for Gloria. Did I come to the wrong locker room?”
Lee’s brow furrows. “Isn’t her locker room on the other side of the stadium? I thought you were better at directions than me.”
“I am.”
“So how did you…” Lee finally notices Hop’s playful smirk and puts two and two together. “Oh. Oh. You were – you were joking. Got it.” He laughs hollowly and runs a hand through his hair. “Sorry, I…figured you’d want to visit Gloria after the match, not me.”
“Glo’s got plenty of other people visiting her,” Hop says with a shrug. “Figured you’d want some company, too.”
“You don’t need to worry about me, Hop,” Lee says, shaking his head. “Go visit your friend. I’ll be okay.”
Hop crosses his arms. “No.”
“No?”
“No,” he repeats, taking a seat next to his brother on the bench. “I’m not leaving this room until you are okay.”
Lee blinks, staring at Hop for a few moments. Then he puts on a big, bright smile. “Thanks, Hop. I feel better already!”
Hop’s first instinct is to return the smile with just as much enthusiasm. But it quickly fades as he realizes what his brother is doing. This is Champion Leon’s smile, the one that he gives to the reporters and the crowds. But he never directs it at Hop unless they have an audience. It’s meant to charm, to distract, to hide – which he doesn’t need to do around Hop, not usually. Hop doesn’t know whether he’s more annoyed that his brother tried to use his Champion smile on him or the fact that it almost worked.
“No, you don’t,” Hop says, pursing his lips.
Lee’s smile dims only a little bit. “I do! I’m happy you’re here. But you don’t need to be.”
“Of course I do! I’m your brother,” Hop retorts.
“And you’re Gloria’s friend, too. You’ve got just as much obligation to visit her as you do to visit me. You don’t need to stay.”
“But I want to,” Hop says, looking at his brother earnestly. “I’m your number-one fan in the whole world! I don’t like seeing you down.”
The smile is fully gone now, replaced with a wide-eyed stare. “You’re still…my fan? After all this?”
“Of course!” Hop says, mildly offended that his brother would even suggest such a thing. “Why wouldn’t I be?”
Lee casts his gaze back down to his shoes. “I failed to catch Eternatus and I lost my Champion title. I’m not unbeatable anymore.”
“You think I’m your fan just because you hadn’t lost a battle?” Hop stares at his brother with one eyebrow raised, waiting for him to realize just how ridiculous he’s being. But he doesn’t look up, barely responds beyond a shrug of his shoulders. Hop frowns and presses himself against Lee’s side. “Well, you’re wrong. I’m your fan ’cause you’re an amazing Trainer and my big brother. And that’s never gonna change, so I’m never gonna stop being your number-one fan.”
They stay like that for a few moments, Hop’s shoulder resting against the thick fabric of the Champion’s cape. Finally, Lee’s arm shifts, wrapping around Hop’s shoulders and pulling him close. He rests his cheek on Hop’s head. “Thank you, Hopscotch,” he murmurs.
When Lee eventually lifts his head, Hop twists around to look at him. His eyes are a little watery, but he’s smiling fondly. Hop grins back. There’s the smile that he knows and loves. That’s Lee’s smile.
Hop wraps his arms around Lee and rests his head over Lee’s heart. “Love you, Lee.”
Lee returns the hug, holding on to him tightly. “Love you too, Hop.”
So maybe Lee isn’t the Champion anymore. So maybe he isn’t unbeatable. But the fact still remains that Lee is his brother, and for Hop, that’s the most important thing.

Postwickshipping fic bc I’m in the mood
(I’ve never written a pkmn fic before so hopefully I get the characters ok! This is basically a comfort ship for me)
(Set five years after main game! Assuming the characters were around 16 in main game, around 20-21 now)
This was it, the fifth year Gloria was taking on someone to defend her title as Champion. Hop couldn’t make it to the stadium as he was holed up in the lab to keep an eye on some Pokemon, but he was watching it from his phone, cheering for his girlfriend.
They had started dating maybe a year or two after Gloria became champion. Despite Gloria often being busy with her Champion work, she always made sure to stay over in Hop’s house once a week. Any day one of them had off they spent with the other in their workplace, and if they both had the day off, date night!
It was going great so far. Gloria often complained of all the work being the Champion took, and how she’d love to be able to settle down with someone (preferably Hop). Hop just laughed and told her it’d calm down at some point. He’d never admit he wanted the same thing. He’d love to be able to have normal meals with her, go out exploring together... He just wants to be with her as much as he can be.
One day Gloria joked that if she ever lost her title she wasn’t entirely sure what she’d do. Hop threw out there that Sonia could always use another assistant, to which they both laughed. Hop didn’t think much of it.
He turned his focus to the match. Both Gloria and her opponent were on their last Pokemon, down to very low health. Hop liked to predict what her next move would be, and this one was obvious.
“Well, if she uses Quick Attack now, she’ll definitely win! She outspeeds Cinderace, so even if they both use it, she’ll go first! She’s got this in the bag.” He described to himself, punching the air before she had even won. The Rockruff that had been bounding around stopped and looked up at him, barking once.
“See? It’s easy! Oh, wait! It’s her turn.” He turned up the volume. “C’mon, mate...”
‘Mate’ always slipped out, even though they’re dating.
Gloria didn’t act for a moment, all cameras turned to her. She looked like she was planning something. Then she looked right into one of the cameras, looking directly at Hop. He almost felt like he was there. Then, she sighed and smiled.
“Inteleon, use Double Team!” She commanded with the confidence of someone who’d thought they’d won.
But everyone knew, even Gloria.
She’d doomed herself.
Hop gasped, dropping the phone.
“WHAT?! No, they’re gonna attack! You’d gonna lose! Gloriaaaaa..!”
Rockruff barked again.
“Oh, shush and let me be emotional!”
Inteleon used the move as told, and as Hop had imagined, the opposing trainer had gone for an attack, knocking Inteleon out.
That was it.
Gloria was no longer Champion.
Hop was speechless as the award ceremony was carried out. She lost? How? She was amazing at these battles, how did she just lose? While he wondered, the host asked “Anything you wanna say to the people at home?”
“One specific person, actually.” She said, taking the microphone.
“Hop.”
He looked at the screen again.
“Keep the door unlocked, ok?”
- - -
It had only been two hours since the championship ended. As soon as it did, Hop had unlocked the door like she said, then promptly collapsed into the couch. He knew he wouldn’t be getting any work done, so he absent-mindedly stroked a Pyukumuku as he thought. Gloria didn’t seem upset at all, which was odd; many losses at Monopoly on her part had showed him she always gets at least a little bit frustrated.
So why did she just take it?
It’s not like he was angry, or disappointed or something. He was just... confused.
As he wondered, he heard a bit of a commotion outside. Sighing, he stood up and popped his head out the door. People were crowded around the train station.
‘May as well go check that out. Get my mind off that.’ He thought. He stood up, bringing the pokemon back into their pokeballs before he left.
He made his way down to the station, hearing people chatter about the match. It’s not like he was the only one watching; everyone in Galar was watching.
When he got there, he had to push his way through a crowd, but when he got to the front, he saw...
“Gloria!”
Gloria, who had been talking to an excited fan, spun around when she heard his voice.
“Hop! You’re here!”
She made her way over, immediately hugging him. Yes, she was on her tippy toes. No, nobody mentioned it.
“I was gonna surprise you at the lab, you know.” She said. Hop laughed, hugging back tightly.
“Well, I’m here now, mate. We could still go, though, if you’d wanna?” He asked. She nodded, glancing around.
“Sure. Gotta tell you something in private, anyway.” She said.
Ominous much?
Either way, Gloria gave one or two more statements before taking Hop’s hand, leading them both back to the lab. Her hand was pretty warm, he noticed. Why, he couldn’t tell you. I suppose you just notice those small things when you’ve been with someone for so long.
- - -
Gloria collapsed onto the couch, sighing. “I sure missed this. You’re lucky, getting to sit here each day!”
“What are you, a couch expert?” Hop asked, both of them laughing. Eventually though, when both had calmed down, Hop spoke up again.
“So mate, about your match...”
“Oh, that? Nothing much.” She said nonchalantly.
“Wha- you lost! You lost your Champion status! Doesn’t that bother you?!” He asked. Gloria laughed, putting her hand over his.
“I thought you woulda realised. I lost on purpose.”
Hop didn’t react for a moment. When the words sunk in though, his eyes widened.
“What?! On purpose?! Why?!” He exclaimed.
“Well, a few things.” She started. “You know how I’ve been talking about how hectic becoming champion gets. I just... wanted to get away from it, I suppose. Besides, having ‘past Champion’ on my record is gonna be great for the ol’ resume.” She explained.
“I mean... Wow. So you’re just, ok with this? You’re not mad or anything?” He asked, still kinda surprised.
“Yep. I figured five years was good enough. Besides...”
She squeezed his hand, sighing.
“I wanted to be with you. Only seeing you on my days off just wasn’t enough for me.”
“Pfft- Well, same here! In a weird way, I’m sorta glad. Now I get to see your face whenever I want! And not just in your battles.”
“Do you watch all of them?”
“Every single one.”
Gloria laughed again. Hop smiled, just happy to be seeing her in front of him. It felt... almost surreal. He was happy, though.
“But, uhh... there’s a second reason I decided to give it up. I wanted to settle down. Like, get a house, job... you know.”
“Oh, really..?”
“Mhm! But... obviously, I’m not just gonna move in somewhere on my own. So, I have two questions for you. One... would you be interested in... well, living with me- ah!”
Gloria was cut off by Hop suddenly throwing his arms around her. “Yeah! Yes, definitely! I- this is awesome!”
“Hahahaha! Glad you’re so enthusiastic.”
“Of course I am, mate! Do you think I’d say no?”
“Not really.”
They laughed again, pulling away.
“And... ok, ready for question number two?” She asked.
“Not sure how it’s gonna get any more intense than the first question, but sure!”
“Ok, well... here, stand up.”
Gloria stood up, pulling Hop to his feet. She was surprisingly strong, considering her height and build. When they were both standing, still giggling slightly, Gloria took a deep breath.
“Ok, ok, I- stop looking at me like that!”
“Can’t. You’re just too cute.”
“Dork.” Hop laughed at Gloria’s pout. She took a deep breath, then began speaking again.
“Ok, Hop. We’ve been together for years, and despite the long distance, we’ve been really happy together, right?”
“Right.”
“Ok, good. So, I’ve been thinking about this for a while, and I’ve finally decided to ask. Hop- gah, screw this gammy knee-”
Gloria stretched her leg, then dropped down onto one knee, pulling a box out of her back pocket. Hop covered his mouth, eyes wide. He was pretty sure he knew where this was going.
She flicked open the box.
“Hop, will you marry me?”
Hop instantly pulled her to her feet, kissing her. After a moment, Gloria smiled into the kiss, returning it. They stayed like that for a moment, just being happy. Eventually though, when their need for air tore them away from each other, Hop smiled.
“Yes. Definitely yes.”
~ ~ ~
Ik it’s probably bad but I really wanted to try my hand at postwickshipping so it probably isn’t perfect but it’s fluffy marriage proposal so :>>
(Sorry to all my non-pokemon followers lol) (which is probably a lot of you bc I’ve never posted pokemon content before)

Pokemon Journeys Episode 62 + 63 Review (that nobody asked for!)
These reviews I’ve been writing for Journeys have been so well-received I was honestly surprised! I think I’ll only write them for episodes that contribute to the storyline or character development rather than filler-esque episodes.
I know I’m late with episode 62 and a lot of people have already reviewed the episode. I had watched the raw on the Friday and I wanted to watch the sub to have a more informed opinion. However, my Grandmother’s dog was rushed to hospital and I was way too anxious to actually do anything other than worry. Thankfully, he was discharged and is doing a lot better!
Anyways, as usual I will keep my review below the cut, so if you want to read that’s great!
I don’t know how long this post will be given it's about two episodes but I’ll try to break it down into sections.
Build-up and the Beginning:
To be honest this was an episode that I had mixed feelings towards whilst waiting for it to air. As I have mentioned many times, one of the aspects I find frustrating about Journeys is the pacing and development, and once it was confirmed Sobble would be evolving into Drizzile after only one actual episode dedicated towards his development, I was honestly annoyed especially as Sobble was pushed to the side in favour of Grookey being the new “cute” starter.
The beginning of the episode wasn’t particularly great if I was honest, I didn’t understand the point of the television interview and then there was Sobble’s actual evolution scene. When the synopsis described Sobble’s evolution being triggered by him saving another Pokémon, I thought it was going to be something epic rather than him saving an Oddish from a falling berry. I think they could have handled Sobble’s actual evolution a lot better, they could have gone down the route of something similar to Professor Sycamore’s Garchomp when she evolved from Gible to Gabite and then to her current evolution, she was surrounded by the other laboratory Pokémon and Professor Sycamore and it was so wholesome. I think if Goh’s other Pokémon had at least witnessed the evolution it would have made the evolution sequence better, I mean Oddish didn’t even acknowledge that Sobble had saved it.
Drizzile:
For the majority of the episode, I felt so sad for Drizzile, I mean I was a little confused that he forgot about his middle evolution as Renji had it on the screen in Episode 54 (but never mind!). I just felt so sad for him after he saw his reflection and learnt he wasn’t an Inteleon yet. However, Goh’s other Pokémon didn’t help Drizzile feel any better, he was literally being tossed around left and right until he was caught by Big Bro Cinderace (that is my nickname for him) but sadly even Cinderace didn’t understand the extent of Drizzile’s feelings.
Throughout the series, we’ve had a lot of episodes surrounding a trainer and a Pokémon trying to understand one another’s feelings and they have honestly made some of the best episodes such as DP’s Stopped in the Name of Love, where Dawn’s Piplup was physically ready to evolve but emotionally he wasn’t and Dawn didn’t even realise the extent of Piplup’s feelings until Meowth translated for her. There’s even an episode in XY, where Serena didn’t understand Braixen’s attachment to her branch without James’ help. There’s probably even more but these are the two that I can think of at the top of my head. Even in these instances, Dawn and Serena didn’t realise the extent of their Pokémon’s feelings without the help of a third party (which was using Team Rocket a lot better than Journeys)
I went a bit off track, it's a lot easier for a Pokémon to understand their trainer’s feelings than a trainer to understand their Pokémon’s and that's because of a language barrier. Similar to animals in the real world, Pokémon have to use alternative means and signals to express their feelings and I think what made this episode more impactful was Goh not receiving that third party help (although Professor Cerise did give him a hint by notifying him about Pokemon experiencing personality changes when they evolve).
Whilst, I believe part of Drizzile’s depression stemmed from the fact he wasn’t an Inteleon yet, I think he was confused and emotionally drained due to these new innate traits he’s suddenly developed such as laziness. Whilst, the episode does acknowledge and try to address this issue for Drizzile, I don’t think it entirely hit the mark. Compared to the BW episode, A Village Homecoming, where a Zweilous under the care of Iris’ friend evolved into Hydreigon it went on a rampage because it was confused by the sudden change and scared until Iris calmed it down (which was some good development for her). Whilst, I respect the fact Goh gave Drizzile space and time to process his emotions, this ending is a little bit unsatisfactory to me, I’m sad Drizzile is just sat in a cave all alone, I was hoping by the end of the episode he would overcome his depression and accept his new form and traits. Plus, if the writers pull what they did with Farfetch’d and forget Drizzile exists, I’m going over there with a pitchfork!
Goh’s emotional development:
Now I won’t lie, lately, Goh has been getting on my nerves and I hate feeling that way especially given he’s meant to be a main character. However, one of the aspects that was annoying me was his rapid development particularly in the area of battle but this episode did an amazing job of representing Goh’s emotional development.
If this was Goh at the beginning of the series, there would have been no doubt he would have tried to drag Drizzile out of that cave instead he was taking his time and trying to coax Drizzile out until Cinderace decided to drag the poor boy out and it broke my heart seeing the single tear slide down Drizzile’s cheek more than it did every instance he cried as a Sobble.
What I love about this episode is Goh learning from his mistakes and recognising that Drizzile’s personality change was similar to when Scorbunny evolved to Raboot and then Raboot to Cinderace. Although they missed an opportunity with Ash, he could have brought up his experience with evolution and personality change with his Charizard. Anyway! As I mentioned in the Drizzile section it's harder for a Pokémon to articulate their feelings as humans do. However, even humans have difficulty expressing or even understanding their own feelings sometimes and Goh understood that.
That heart-to-heart, Goh had with Drizzile made me cry but it did such a great job reflecting Goh’s emotional development and that moment Drizzile wiped Goh’s tear as Goh had once done for him was so moving. As I previously mentioned, I like the message of giving someone space and time to process their feelings but as I previously mentioned that ending left me with some mixed feelings.
Conclusion:
Whilst, I would have preferred Sobble have more development before evolving and for the actual evolution to have been handled better. All in all, it was a good episode that honestly had me crying. The ending for me was a little unsatisfactory but I definitely think this has been one of the better Journeys episodes to have come out as of late.
Episode 63
It’s a miracle! They didn’t wait for 20 episodes to give Chloe and Eevee development and they went to a different region!
Prologue and Continuity:
At the beginning of the episode, the group are watching the Adult division of the Marine Athletics Race held in Hoenn. Eevee takes a particular interest as a Vaporeon is participating in the race and I really loved this link to her debut episode where she was copying all the Eeveelutions such as walking elegantly like Sylveon and attempting to swim like Vaporeon before nearly drowning (God love her!)
However, I love the fact similar to the Ponyta episode, Chloe takes the initiative and wants to meet Vaporeon and his trainer as it may be good to expose Eevee not only to her evolved forms but also learn from other trainers that have had an Eevee why they evolved them into certain forms (Ash this would have been a great opportunity to call May and Serena! Or even Virgil!)
Kairi and Vaporeon:
I honestly loved the dinner scene after the group tried the racecourse and it's a miracle Ash is actually using Dracovish! I loved the discussion Chloe had with Kairi asking why he chose to evolve his Eevee into a Vaporeon. And I liked the fact his answer was simple, his Eevee loved the sea, was a natural on a surfboard and evolving Eevee into a Vaporeon was a natural fit for the two of them.
I’ve only watched the episode raw, there’s a bit where I assume Goh asked Chloe what she would want her Eevee to evolve into. I think Chloe’s answer focused around the fact she wants Eevee to decide for herself rather than have her or someone else decide her path, a feeling Chloe probably relates to as her classmates all assumed she would want to be a Pokémon Professor like her father. Also, Eevee sleeping on top of Vaporeon was so wholesome, I’m sorry why are not talking about this!
The Ending:
After the incident caused by Goh’s Dewgong (honestly going from the episode preview I thought it was something to do with Team Rocket so Dewgong causing trouble was a nice change of pace and not doing Team Rocket dirty by using them as convenient plot devices!) Anyways, I loved the ending, as Kairi gave Chloe a Water Stone and I love the fact it doesn’t mean Chloe has to use the stone immediately but the stone is around and is there as an option. Chloe and Eevee can keep deepening their relationship which already increases Eevee’s evolution potential as three of her evolutions are triggered by the bond between trainer and Pokémon. Going down the line, I think Chloe meeting other trainers that have an Eevee or one of the Eeveelutions is a great way for her to develop and learn from other trainers.
All in all, this was a great Chloe and Eevee-focused episode (as mentioned in my overall Journeys critique I’m just sad Yamper is being pushed to the side when Chloe’s earlier development is attributed to her bond with him). Hopefully, in future episodes, Yamper can be more involved. Overall, the last two episodes of Journeys have been good. The trailer/preview they showed, Infernape’s BACK!!! Also, seeing more of Ash’s old Pokémon like Hawlucha and Noivern my favourite father-son duo!! Journeys finally delivering on what the fandom wanted! Also, I think I heard Kakihara’s voice in the trailer and if I’m right, I’ll be over the moon, he’s honestly one of my favourite voice actors >o<
All in all, Journeys might have some good content coming up, my only complaint being I don’t like how all the Gen 8 content is being shoe-horned into these mini arcs and we’re hardly seeing any Galar characters.

Jump-Start
Huh, it’s been a while since I’ve made a Tumblr exclusive one-shot.
Anyway, this is a belated birthday gift for a friend of mine, who happens to like Zeraora and Toxtricity, so this was a story that involved them doing some cute interactions together. Since I didn’t know which Toxtricity was preferred, though, I included both, and the romantic vibes are on the slightly subtle side.
But, this also made for good practice on writing Toxtricity characters, since I’m planning on using two like this for my fanfics in the future. Hopefully “Amp” and “Low” are cute names for them based on their forms, but if not, I tried.
Oh, and a modern setting, which has definitely been missing for a minute! It’s fun putting Pokemon back in that kind of a setting.
It’s not very long, I suppose it has shades of hurt/comfort, but otherwise, just some simple friendship/romance fluff.
Anyway, the story will be below the cut! So, enjoy!
...
...
Slightly outside of a city, a concert lit up the night along a small stage in the park. A crowd cheered as the band upon the stage hit their song’s crescendo, jamming as sparks flew up from the stage. They drifted through the air, and fizzled out, sparkling as they cascaded away into the wind.
Lowering their arms from their bodies, the electrical salamander pair smirked as their fans wildly called out for them.
“Yeah, yeah, let ‘em hear it,” called the black and white badger from the center stage. “Come on, give it up for the Toxtricity brothers!” He grinned as the audience erupted into roars for the duo. “You think their dueling strumming was good, you should see them really harmonize. And hey, one more time, give it up for Rillaboom on the drums!” They cheered again for the ape in the back, who waved his wooden sticks around as he flipped back his grassy hair. “There ya go, nice, nice! Once again, we want to thank you lot for coming out. I’ve been Obstagoon…” He chuckled as screams and cheers broke out for him. “Wow…I wish mum and employers would be that excited,” Obstagoon joked, earning laughter as well. “Anyhow, I’ve been Obstagoon, and we’ve got just one more song tonight! It’s a bit of a mash-up cover mix, but we think it’s banging, so let’s rock out one more time!”
Waiting for a moment, Obstagoon grinned back at his band, as the brothers lifted their arms to the protrusions on their chests and Rillaboom spun his drumsticks around. Knocking back the last swig of water from his bottle, Obstagoon crushed it and tossed it across the stage, as his dark and sharp-clawed weasel manager caught it. Slowly, the applause died down.
Inhaling in, Obstagoon gave a heavy scream out as his band started blasting their music. He stood close to the microphone and held up his arm as his legs kept the beat from the song.
 “Only want one future,
Only want one world,
We’ve got our beastly rhythm rolling,
And you will know our names!”
As Obstagoon continued singing the lyrics, the band played harder to match his energy, and the audience reflected their excitement.
One feline member, however, folded his arms and bit his lip. His bright blue eyes stuck on the strumming lizard pair, shifting back and forth between the two.
“YEAH, ROCK ON OBSTAGOON,” shouted a goblin-like demon with long black hair. Grinning, he turned to his friends. “He’s got to be the best singer ever!”
“He’s pretty cool,” complimented the sandy brown crocodile with him, tapping his foot as his tail swayed. “But I can’t deny I love those jamming reptile dudes.”
“Both of you shut up,” snapped a pale monster with horns that shaped into giant jaws. She swayed around and lifted her arms back up. “This is going to be my new favorite song!”
Shaking his head as he listened to them, the tiger-like creature shuffled away from them. He stumbled back once three small rodents jumped around in the next nearest space.
“STRUM THOSE CHESTS, TOXIBROS, WHOO!” A white and gray spiny rat rolled around and bounced, as her spiky fur shot out from her body. “JAM MY DUDES!”
“Toge, I don’t think they can hear you,” reasoned her blue and white squirrel friend.
“WHO CARES?! ROCK ON, TOXIBROS, JAAAM!”
Shrugging, the squirrel jumped up too. “SHOOT MORE SPARKS OUT, LIGHT IT ALL UP!”
Their third rodent friend, a hamster with black and yellow fur, abruptly changed form, as the once dark eyes became furiously red. “I AM SO HUNGRY!!”
“HA, YEAH! PEKO, ISN’T THIS GREAT?! WHOO!”
Wincing at the three, the feline fellow backed away, bumping a white and red rabbit that swayed around. He glanced at the bipedal tiger, who muttered an apology as he strolled aside.
“Hey, wait up!” A tall blue chameleon slipped around the yellow tiger and scooped up his lanyard, eying the pass on it. “You’re a VIP too?”
“Huh?” The cat rubbed behind his neck. “Oh, uh, yeah.”
“Nice! Us too, and we’re going to bug the boys after the show. Name’s Inteleon!” He pointed back at his rabbit friend. “He’s Cinderace, and we’re good mates of the drummer.”
“Oh, hi,” the tiger barely managed over the music. “I’m a friend of the guitar guys. Uh, and I’m Zeraora.”
“Wicked, you’re one of those super rare types,” chimed in Cinderace. He beamed to the cat. “Feel like I’ve seen you somewhere before…”
 “Really?!”
“Mm…nah, just tonight probably,” determined Cinderace, as Zeraora deflated. “Thought you might’ve been with the others. That lot over there is a pretty funny bunch to eye up too.”
Following where the rabbit pointed, Zeraora blinked at two shorter pixie-like creatures, who danced and spun around before a much taller black ape with green vines wrapped around his wrists. Though the ape looked rather unimpressed, he seemed to sway and tap his feet to the rhythm.
 “You friends with them?”
“Uh…no, I’ve never seen them before.”
“Ah, ok, that’s cool then.” Cinderace grinned. “Means that we have less of a crowd for later.”
“Yeah, the three of us and those two boyfriends over there.” Inteleon pointed to a muscular reptilian monster pumped his fists alongside a fox-like fellow with long whiskers that twirled a spoon. “The bigger one is Machoke, and the shorter fellow is Kadabra. They’re buddies with Obstagoon.”
 “Huh.”
“Yeah, kind of an odd sort, but pretty friendly.” Inteleon shrugged. “Anyway, we’ll see you a bit later on, then. Cheers!”
They waved as Zeraora nodded and wandered for an open space in the crowd once more.
 …
Later after the last song, the crowd dispersed rather quickly. Zeraora watched the various parties that shuffled out, with his eyes falling on the oddball group that Cinderace pointed out before.
“Oh my gosh, Victini,” clamored the ballerina-like pixie. “That concert was amazing!”
“Right?! They have such cool music!” The rabbit-like pixie hopped back and forth on her feet. “Zarude, wasn’t it cool?”
“It was different, so, I guess,” decided the ape with vines. He covered his flushing face as he glanced away. “Frontman definitely made the show.”
“Ooh, are you crushing on Obstagoon?”
 “Nuh-no.”
 “Totally is. Dead-on, Meloetta.”
 “Shut up!”
The shorter duo laughed as they levitated into the air and danced around. Rolling his eyes, Zarude stormed off, as the duo floated and laughed around him. Zeraora watched them for a moment and sighed.
 “Excuse me, mister?”
Zeraora whirled around and wildly looked around for a moment. He blinked and slowly glanced down at the tiny hamster before him.
“Have you seen any good snack stands?”
“Hm? Oh, um…” Zeraora pointed across to a small cart nearby with a snowy ape before it. “That looks like an ice cream vendor.”
“Ah, that would be yummy.” The hamster bowed before scampering off. “Thank you!”
“Sure thing!” Zeraora smirked. “Cute kid.”
Twisting back, the hamster gained a darker and sinister glare, as Zeraora flinched and took a step back.
 “DON’T EVER CALL ME CUTE.”
 “Right, right, sorry!”
With that, the hamster relaxed and switched back to the normal form. “That’s ok! Bye bye!” And once more, the hungry hamster hurried off and Zeraora carefully watched and waited until he was alone again.
A heavy sigh escaped him, and he lowered his head as he dangled his arms. Slowly picking himself back up, the Thunderclap monster checked the empty stage.
“Hey, you’re that tiger guy the others mentioned!”
Blinking at the new voice sounding, Zeraora turned to Machoke and Kadabra, as approached him.
“See Kadabra? They were right, he’s real.”
 “Um.”
“Machoke, honestly!” Kadabra pinched his forehead and dropped his shoulders. “Sorry, we didn’t really meet before, but we’re friends of Obstagoon.”
“Ah ok, the other two told me about you guys,” recalled Zeraora. “It’s nice to meet you. I’m Zeraora, a friend of the Toxtricity brothers.”
“Nice to meet you as well. I’m Kadabra,” he introduced, “and you probably heard me, but this big guy is Machoke.”
 “Hey there! It’s a pleasure!”
 “Likewise.”
“We were just on our way to go meet up with the band,” revealed Kadabra. “Are you going to see them too?”
“Well, they gave me this pass for that—”
“Come on, Kadabra, that was a silly question,” chastised Machoke. “Of course he’s going!”
“He could have had other plans!”
“Then why would he be here still?”
 “Um.”
“Sorry.” Kadabra leaned against Machoke and rolled his eyes. “He just likes to bully me sometimes.”
“Do not!” Machoke slumped down over Kadabra, propping his chin over his head. “Just a little bit of teasing.”
 “Uh-huh.”
“It’s true! And you’re so fluffy too…” Machoke chuckled as he brushed Kadabra’s mustache and tail. He grinned at his partner’s blushing and then returned his attention to the cat. “Hey, Zera, come with us, and we’ll all head over!”
 “Oh, um. Sure.”
As Machoke lifted off of him, Kadabra studied Zeraora for a moment. “It’s strange, but I feel like I’ve seen you in particular somewhere before.”
 “Are you sure?”
“Hmm. Now that you question me, less so.” Kadabra shrugged. “Ah well. It’s still nice meeting you all the same.”
Kadabra smiled as Machoke scooped up his hand and guided him along. Zeraora watched the pair as they chattered to one another, though he quietly ambled behind them, clutching his arm and lightly rubbing it.
Heading behind the stage, the three came across the band members packing up. Rillaboom lifted his drum for the truck, and listened to Cinderace excitedly babble to him, while Inteleon leaned against him and inspected Rillaboom’s sticks. Obstagoon spoke on the phone while the Toxtricity brothers listened to their manager’s directions on loading equipment.
Spying the other three arrive, Obstagoon finished up his conversation, hung up the phone, and waved to Machoke and Kadabra as he strolled to meet them.
“Sweethearts Supreme made it to our show! How about that?” He winked and laughed as the two blushed and looked away from him. “Aw, come on, I’m only teasing. It’s great to see you both.”
“You act like we wouldn’t come out to see you,” mocked Kadabra. “We don’t get that carried away on our dates.”
“Could’ve fooled me,” teased Obstagoon. “So, so! Anyone cute out there for me tonight?”
“Kind of hard to tell when everyone around us was just screaming your name,” admitted Machoke. “You might just be a bit too popular.”
“No such thing!” Obstagoon folded his arms and beamed for a moment, but then deflated. “…Come on, no one noteworthy?”
“We did our best listening out for you, but Machoke’s right, and it’s difficult in a crowd,” reiterated Kadabra. “Why can’t we just take you to a bar or a club?”
“Because those are for after I find someone and we can double date,” insisted Obstagoon. “It’s no fun just picking up someone random.”
“So, you’d choose a fan instead.”
“Yeah!” He grinned. “We’d have common interests right away!”
“Well, how about a monkey?” Zeraora waited as Obstagoon finally focused on him. “I think one was kind of interested in you.”
“What, my drummer buddy, Rillaboom?” Obstagoon chuckled. “He’s cute, but I think he’s got his hands a bit full.” He shrugged. “Fortunately for him, he’s got two of them.”
“No, I meant this dark ape in the audience,” detailed Zeraora.
“With the two little ones bouncing around?”
 “Yeah, those were his friends.”
“Ooh, that makes more sense! Still, he could probably be a good dad…” Obstagoon blinked and shook his head. “Wow, I’ve been rather rude. Name’s Obstagoon, as you likely know!” He outstretched his hand and stuck it out for Zeraora to take, and quickly shook it once he did. “Big hands and good grip, nice! What’s your name, mate?”
“Zeraora,” he introduced. “Uh, I’m friends with—”
“Hey, you came!” One of the Toxtricity brothers hurried over and threw his arms around Zeraora. “So cool, great to see you!”
“Yay, we’re all here,” murmured the other brother, ambling over to the pair. He lifted his arms and dropped onto the embracing pair. “Group hug, hooray…!”
“Amp, Low, is this the one you two always go on about?” Obstagoon tilted his head as he folded his arms, while Zeraora perked up at the question.
“Yeah, he’s super cool,” praised Low. “His movements are so quick that they sound like thunder.”
“He’s great at guitars and percussion, and even makes his own special effects,” piped up Amp. “And he’s pretty cute too, right?”
 “Guys…”
“Aw, look at him blush!” Obstagoon snickered. “But he makes a pretty good crowd scout too! Maybe I should fire my minions and sign him on instead!”
“Please fire us,” muttered Machoke and Kadabra together.
 “Just for that, I refuse!”
 “Ugh…”
“Shouldn’t have made friends with someone famous!”
“You weren’t famous when we met,” teased Kadabra as he stuck his tongue out.
“And you don’t even pay us for all our hard work,” piled on Machoke.
“Blah, blah…” Obstagoon observed the Toxtricity brothers with Zeraora for a moment. Scooping up Machoke and Kadabra’s hands, he tugged them along. “Actually, I want you two to come meet our manager before he kills himself over all of that equipment. His name is Weavile!”
The badger dragged his friends off to the truck, where Weavile was struggling to lift a large speaker in.
Both Toxtricity brothers smiled to Zeraora, who reflexively returned it to them. However, he glanced down to the ground and rubbed behind his head. Low nudged him a bit, while Amp picked up his cheeks to make a smile. All three laughed a bit, but Zeraora slowed into a sigh, and his friends stopped as well.
“So, um. Why did you guys want to invite me?”
“Isn’t it obvious?” Amp placed his hands on his hips. “We wanted to see if you would enjoy our group!”
“We want to try getting you to come to more shows too,” chimed in Low, lightly strumming at his protrusions.
 “But why?”
“…To…see how much you liked them,” enlightened Low. He tilted his head. “You know, like, to see if you wanted to join in.”
 “What?”
“Haven’t we bugged you about this a lot before?” Amp folded his arms and hastily tapped his foot. “You used to play music with us too, and we want to see if we could fit you in with our group!”
 “Plus you’re fun and nice.”
 “Those too!”
“Do you guys really think that?” Zeraora raised an eyebrow.
 “Of course!”
 “Why wouldn’t we?”
 “Uh…it’s nothing important,” downplayed Zeraora.
“Come on, you can tell us!” Amp picked up Zeraora’s hand and swayed it back and forth. “You could use it!”
“If it’s a secret, we’ll keep it safe,” reassured Low, as he clung to Zeraora’s other arm. “And if it’s not, we want to listen anyway.”
“Well…I haven’t really been all that great at standing out almost ever,” divulged Zeraora. “None of my music or performances did well, definitely nothing like what you guys do.” He deflated and stared down at the ground. “People keep acting like they recognize me, but it’s mostly because I’m considered a very rare type, not because of my old works or style.”
 “Wait, really?”
 “That’s what we love!”
“Nobody else seems to,” furthered Zeraora. “In fact, I’ve been trying to give up at performing altogether, which is why I came here to support you guys. I wanted to see you both do better and get out there more.” Zeraora shrugged. “I’m mostly irrelevant.”
“Who told you that?!” Electricity sparked from Amp as he pounded his fists together.
“That wasn’t very nice at all,” agreed Low, closing his eyes and shaking his head.
“Nobody told me that,” corrected Zeraora. “It’s just…what I picked up on.”
“Oh. …Huh…we never thought that about you at all.” Low picked up Zeraora’s hand. “In fact, I always thought you were really cool, and you inspired me a lot of times. Plus, you always notice even small things with us, like not just with music, but how we’re feeling, so that makes me feel great.”
 “Really?”
“Yeah, me too!” Amp scooped up Zeraora’s other hand. “I really had no idea that you didn’t seem popular. I always thought everyone liked you, but maybe that’s because Low and I like you a lot!” He grinned. “You’re so supportive with our music, and seeing you around always brightens up my day!”
“Wow, I…didn’t know that,” realized Zeraora. “That’s…you guys, that was really sweet…”
 “Sure, of course!”
 “Anytime for you.”
“Does that mean you’d consider joining us sometime?” Amp tugged Zeraora’s arm closer to his chest. “I’d love to have you around!”
“Me too, I want you to be with us,” insisted Low, as he pulled Zeraora closer to him. “I think we’d play better and be happier together.”
“Ah, well, I…um…” Zeraora blushed and smiled. “I guess I should think it over first, but…I’m pretty sure I would like that, if the others think it’s ok.”
 “Of course they will!”
 “We’ll convince them.”
Together, the trio laughed as they hugged again, and spent the next half hour talking and catching up on their recent activity. Once Weavile insisted on heading out for a late dinner, the band members quickly invited their friends along, and everyone took off for a nice night.
...
...
Yay, cute and wholesome ending!
I was actually planning on being totally overt with the Toxtricity bros wanting to date Zeraora and argue over him at first before Zeraora hinted at them trying a poly relationship, but it seemed a bit jarring compared to the heartwarming moments they were having, so I kept that part out. (I didn’t want it to seem like the brothers had ulterior motives for being nice to Zeraora.)
Obstagoon was another character that I wanted to test out a little bit. Hopefully he was pretty cute too, since I wanted him to play off my typical Machoke and Kadabra type of couple. It had the Fighting-Psychic-Dark triangle, so I was too tempted to pass that up. (Jock, Nerd, Punk, whoo!)
Writing all three of them as rock-stars is pretty much what they’re designed for, so that’s good, but I’ll have to consider how to transition them for medieval times and potential alternative roles, lol.
Some other Gen 8 Pokemon were included too, since I’m totally out there with them and Gen 7, and need to get into using them. I even tried out Zarude for fun, even though they’re not available, as of writing.
Also, I know nothing of music, so if this isn’t a super authentic band hangout kind of thing for you, my bad, but I’m not very familiar with that for a writing genre by any means, lol, so, sorry!
Lyrics were swiped from Fire Emblem Heroes and titles from Xenoblade Chronicles, since I wasn’t very lively on making lyrics. Lazy, I know, but oh well.
Anywho, just a simple and fluffy fanfic for a friend, who I hope enjoyed it! And everyone else that reads too. So, thank you for reading!

Blind Shield Nuzlocke Notes 10 (Finale)
-Starting off the tenth and possibly final session
-Current Team: Freight the Coalossal, High Voltage the Toxtricity, Nosferatu the Dreadnaw, Riot the Falinks, Snowball the Frosmoth, Warrior the Grapploct
-I updated Warrior’s moves in preparation for Raihan, he now knows Drain Punch Waterfall Superpower and Ice Punch
-Even though Raihan is a dragon specialist, I’m not using Snowball. Last time he led with a Gigalith so I’m leading with Nosferatu and Warrior
Raihan
-Oh god he reworked his team for one on one battles there goes my plan
-Why the FUCK does he have a torkal
-Like, from a story perspective, why would he try to take out Charizard boi with a drought Pokémon?
-Whatever I’ll just use rock side
-OH FUCK IT MISSED AND NOW NOS HAS NO HEALTH SWITCHING TO FREIGHT
-Okay, it tanked a solar beam and it tanked a rock slide
-Second rock slide killed
-Raihan switched to Flygon, I switched to Snowball. Flygon Used sandstorm
-I’d use quicker dance, but I can’t risk a stone edge so I’m using Aurora beam
-Well, it used dragon claw so I messed up
-Turtonator? Time to switch back to freight and take no damage from that fire blast
-Rock slide, sunny day, miss, dragon pulse, rock slide, dead
-He sent out Goodra, dynamaxing and using Max rockfall
-Raihan Used rain dance? This team has a lot less synergy than the last one. Whatever, canceled it out with max rockfall
-Raihan made it rain, AGAIN, and died to a third max rockfall. Which made it sandstorm
-Unfortunely, dynamax wire off and he switched to GM Duraldon. Switching to Tiot cause freight is low
-Tanked a Max rockfall and Max knuckle, took half with a Brick Break
-OH GID MAX DEPLETION PUT ME AT 8 HP AND THERES A SANDSTORM
-Thank god, Close Combat killed and the battle ended
-Now for champion Leon and/or Tesla CEO Rose
Leon
-Dont know what he’ll use except Charizard and possibly Sobble. Putting Snowball up front because I know Charizard will be last and I may be able to sweep with quiver dance
-The cheering of the crowd fills you with determination
-“Wait, hold on!” Goddamn it rose
-“It’s time I brought about the darkest day, for Galars future of course” it’s called the darkest day you can’t be an antivillain and still call your plan the darkest day
-I knew dragonville tower was evil plan place
-“But you’re terrible at directions, what if you get lost along the way?”
-Hop acknowledges the fact that he sucks good
-Hell yeah! Going back to the slumbering weald to catch god!
-Oh sweet a life orb giving it to Warrior
-I’m glad they brought back the evil team interrupts the elite four thing from black and white
-Shield dog is in front because it is important
-Sonia can’t see god dogs because Sonia isn’t a stand user
-Getting Zelda vibes
-Honestly, the Shield is more fitting for a Nuzlocke than the sword. You aren’t trying to destroy, you’re trying to survive, to protect the team members you care about
-The dogs are dead, aren’t they
-I’m actually surprised I’m not just fighting Shield dog, this is different
-The leaders evacuated Hammerlocke, making themselves useful
-How did hop get past Oleana?
-Hey! It’s good mook! I forgot to mention her earlier but she’s cool
-Rampaging dynamax pokemon in the power plant hell yeah
-Eternatus! The least kept secret in the game! I’ve seen this thing and it’s cool and I’m glad I get to fight it instead of waiting for ultra Shield
-Leon’s fighting on the roof like a badass
-Is that an egg
-Ooh summoning Satan to use as green energy what could go wrong
-THAT CHOIR
Rose
-I still have Snowball out front
-And he’s using escavalier. Time for freight to continue carrying this team
-Uh oh swords dance
-Nevermind, outsped it ant took it out with heat crash
-“You’re go tough that’s not fair” life isn’t fair bitch
-Ferrothorn, really?
-It survived a heat crash. Operative word being A, because the second one killed it
-Rose, I know why Leon beat you as a kid. It’s because you exclusively use steel types and he has a goddamn Charizard
-Klingklang got off two wild charges but it’s dead now
-Freight’s at half health and can take out purrserker, but I don’t want to switch into Rose’s GM anchor so I’m going to Riot
-Took a lot of damage in the switch, but took it out with a Max knuckle
-“I’ll show you a move that hits so hard you’ll be speechless” I doubt it
-OH GOD FAIRY MOVE
-Whatever it’s dead now
-That chuckle and clap, gg mate
-“Leon is just like a knight in shining armor coming to rescue the princess from a dragon!” Glad pokemon is finally giving lgbt representation
-Leon caught eternatus doggie doggie what now
-Side note, I just realized I haven’t used any of my dynamax candy yet. Used them all of Nosferatu for obvious reasons
-And Leon hasn’t defeated eternatus yet great
-A fucking pokeball, Leon? Really?
-Okay were fighting this thing now I guess
Eternatus
-Snowball dodged a flamethrower out of love and took away half of eternatus’s health with aurora beam!
-Switching to Freight, tanked a dragon pulse. Almost died to a crit dragon pulse, but got it into red with a rock slide
-Switched to Nos, took slightly less than half damage from a dragon pulse
-Killed it with ice fang
-OH GOD IT DYNAMAXED
-Time for round 2?
-ITS A RAID BATTLE WIRH HOP!
-Oh god Snowball can’t attack and Eternatus is storing power
-Time for sword and shield
-The gods dogs jesused and teleported to us! They saved Snowball!
-And now we’re in box art form!
-Now it’s a real max raid battle! We got four fighters, three of which exist solely to take hits for Snowball
-It’s potswick! Wait, no, it’s everywhere!
-God dogs have abilities that buff each other that’s cool
-Shield dog uses light screen and sword dog used howl!
-Good job Snowball, tank that G-Move
-Eat Ice, dragon fuckboy
-Quiver dance time!
-Behemoth blade and bash!
-Snowball, put this mother fucker on ice
-Okay it would have been cooler if that killed but sure that’s fine
-And sword dog steals the kill!
-Oh, I have to catch it? I’d prefer to kill it but this is fine I guess
-I used an Ultra ball, Leon. Take notes
-Welcome to the box, Eternatus. Or should I say, “XD lol haha”
-Yeah I gave it a lame name because it’s evil
-Bye bye doggies
-Time to take on Leon, for real this time. I could swap someone for XD lol haha, but that isn’t my style. I’m winning this with the team that got me here. And also Warrior
-No major changes for the final battle. Swapped Freight’s Rocky Helmet and Nos’s Assault Vest, replaced Tar Shot with Giga Impact, and evened the team out to level 61 with rare candies
-I’ve loved this game and it’s climax, but the end is here. Let’s look over who we have with us. Also the only girl which is weird
-Freight, the longest lasting member of the team who’s carried me through countless battles
-HV, who I raised from a baby and is our greatest offensive powerhouse
-Nosferatu, who was brought on after the deaths of his brother Dracula and JORSTIN. He quickly proved himself a vital member of the team
-Riot, who fought his way on by killing Mondo and proved to useful to hate
-Snowball, a late member who I spent hours bonding with the evolve
-And Warrior, who I have literally never used in battle
-It’s time to take on Leon
Champion Leon
-He’s starting with an Aegislash, so I’m swapping Snowball for Freight
-Side note, the champion wielding aegislash is so fitting
-I love this theme
-Ha! It used King’s Shield!
-Sacred sword hurt, but Heat Crash took it out
-Swapped to Haxorus, I’m swapping to Snowball
-Good thing I did, cause he used earthquake
-Risking a quiver dance
-And he killed Snowball with iron tail fuck
-Time for Warrior to justify his existence!
-Almost died to outrage and only did half hp with ice punch good job buddy
-Now, this may seem mean, but I’m not going to switch. Letting Warrior die gives me a free switch to HV, who can take out Haxorus and sweep most of Leon’s team
-With Choice Scarf HV boombursted Haxorus to death
-Inteleon! Yes! He kept it!
-Critical hit! It’s dead now
-Mr Rhine tanked a boomburst and killed HV with psychic
-FUCK I THOUGHT IT WAS ICE NOW
-Going to Nos and Dming. Max rockfall crushed it
-Okay, Dragapukt is definetly a dragon flying. It paralyzed Nos with thunderbolt, but he’s still in the green
-Enter The Charizard
-You know, I mentioned my feelings about GM Charizard earlier and I’d like to reiterate it. I hate Charizard spam, but it is a cool design and I like the idea of the champion having a Charizard as a starter and having won at ten
-OH GOD MAX OVERGROWTH NOS IS DEAD
-Switching to Freight, it used Max Rockfall but I survived and got off a rock slide. I won’t survive another one so I’m switching to Riot
-Okay, Riot is in the green and Charizard isn’t giga anymore. Now what?
-And it killed Riot with Fire Blast
-Leon Used a full restore because he’s a cunt
-Okay, this is it. I’m ending this with a rock slide. For Apollo and Dracula and Bob Murray and Idol and JORSTIN and Ophelia and Mondo and Chaos and Pluck and Echo and Snowball and Warrior and High Voltage and Nosferatu and Riot and every Pokémon in the box and Freight and for me, I’m taking you down!
-It survives with a sliver of health
-And it died to the sandstorm I created
-It’s over. It’s finally over
-I mean, I know there will be a post credits battle because every game in the past six years has had one, but it’s over
-Ten days, ten posts, fifteen fallen friends, and it is finally over
-And what a final battle it was
-“Thank you for the greatest battle I’ve ever had” same brah
-To think that I, Blinkin, a young blind British boy with a dream could defeat every powerful trainer in the country in less than a fortnight
-Okay, while the credits roll I’d like to talk about this game. This isn’t a formal review, just some thoughts. This has been the most contentious pokemon game in a while and I’d like to say that I...absolutely loved it. The new Pokémon were creative and fun, the wild area was a great idea I’d love to see expanded in future games, dynamaxing was surprisingly tactical, the characters were surprisingly engrossing. This game was amazing. It wasn’t perfect (linearity, exp share always on, lack of turning animations), but most problems I can think of are nitpicks. But, of course, there is the Cufant in the room: Dexit. Dexit was horrible for collectors and some competitive battlers, I’m not denying that, and there are deeper conversations about game freak as a company that I’d like to have on a later date, but honestly? Dexit didn’t affect my enjoyment of the game at all. I almost exclusively do challenge runs, so I rarely care about the national dex or post game. And, as a game for challenge runs, this game is amazing. X and Y are actually some of my favorite Pokémon games to play just because there are so many different Pokémon and team combinations to try. I think those games had ~450 Pokémon in their regional dex and this game had about the same, and that really goes a long way. Take Black and White, for instance. How many Pokémon were in that game. You might say 500ish, but I don’t see it that way. There are 150 Pokémon you can catch. Less than that, counting version exclusives. So yeah, there were more Pokémon programmed into that game, but you don’t see most of them without importing them from another game. Even with Dexit, this game felt like it had more Pokémon than any I’ve ever played. And again, I feel for the collectors, but I’m not going to not enjoy a great game because of an aspect that doesn’t effect me at all. Let’s get off Dexit. There are two aspects of this game that stand out as especially good. The first is the Galar region. This region was filled with so much charm and care that I could barely put it down. I love Galar, this beautiful country filled with so much goddamn British culture that I can barely breathe. The second reason I love this game is the League. This game breathed new life into the series and featured hands down the best league in any game. I felt, more than in any game, like pursuing the title of Champion was my goal. The stadiums of cheering crowds, the tournament at the end, that brutal champion battle, I loved this league.
-Anyway, lets make fun of the credits
-Oh right, the art director was the Englishman
-Legit, the other guys at Gamfreak call him the Englishman in interviews. Anyway, that explains a lot about this game
-Rock band!
-Okay, these Pokémon are all based on the idea of hardcore British rock and the credits theme is very much not that
-Hey, gym banners.
-They have the fighting banner even though she is sword exclusive
-Side note, when the mentioned minor league leaders I hoped that they would be fightable. Maybe in the post game
-Oh right, in sword the ice towns leader uses rock types. Maybe a Coalossal for the steam theme?
-Oh hey Leon banner
-Yeah I don’t have a lot to say about credits
-WOLLOO
-Huh, no post credits battle
-Okay, Full disclosure, I was spoiled that you fight Hop in the forest and assumed that that would be the post credits scene. When I booted the game up again it showed the forest so I’m going to go check it out
-Thank you for the master ball old lady foster
-Okay Hop, lets go. You vs my remaining team
Hop
-Dubwool did jack shit and went down to two Heat Crashes
-Snorlax killed Freight with a High Horsepower
-You know what? Good job, kid. You earned this
-Now to send out XD lol haha end exterminate Hops fucking bloodline
-Oh, you used a full restore, Hoppy boy? Well, I don’t see why I shouldn’t use the thirty full restore in my bag to destroy everything you love
-Eat shit Hop
-“Congrats on Beating Leon” “It was nothing”
-Oh Sonia’s the Professor now okay
-Thank you for the book, it is going on eBay
-These men have sword and shield hair what the fuck
-You gave Sonia’s book one star? I’ll fucking kill you
-Who the fuck named their sons Sordbord and Shielbert
-I hate these men and want them dead
-Oh, you’re princes? A shame I don’t have any Pokémon who know guillotine
-Okay, Nofumi but somehow even more insufferable, I’ll take you out with my god
-So were doing the aftergame now extra long post I guess
-Of course he has a sirfetched
-What is a king to a god fuckboi?
-The god is me, by the way. Not Eternatus
-Goddamn it Hop
-Okay, fuck it. I can’t beat this losers with only Eternatus. Time to sacrifice XD lol haha to Ghiratina to bring my whole team back yes this is in the Nuzlocke rules
-Are they not going to give Sonia’s girlfriend a name?
-Dynamax In trufield better be something new and cool
-Ugh, it’s just leggy onion. Whatever, lets raid it
-That sounded better in my head
-RARE CARDS I WANT THEM
-God I hate these guys
-I can exaggerate? Hell yeah!
-Piers is an ex leader? So Marnie’s a leader now cool
-So am I just going to visit all of the leaders again? Well that part can be skipped in the notes unless something cool happens
-Okay, it was only the first trio
-Good time my team are immortal zombies because Sword jackass oneshoted freight with his golispod and shield bro one shotted Echo with his Falinks
-Nameless assistant! How dare you betray us!
-Okay, I’m out of battery. Delaying this post til tomorrow so I can finish the aftergame
-What’s up It tomorrow I killed a frosslass and Haxorus and dusknoir. Saved Bede for last because he’s a prick.
-Okay, Bede beat the dynamax pokemon on his own and wants a fight cool
-Side note, Rapidash and Hatterene are both psychic fairy and it’s a miracle I didn’t loose Echo to Bede in session 9
-Burn up is such a cool move
-It was fun beating you again Bede eat shit and die
-Yamper is a good boy
-Oh, douchebags are evil because we revealed historically accuracy that makes them look bad
-Stop being mad to god dogs
-Kill him sword dog! Do it!
-Side note, it’s interesting that this game features both legendaries pretty equally
-Okay sword dog is dead now where’s the real dog god
-Shield Dog! I’m glad you’re hear, but you don’t have to waste your time saving Hop. A little stabbing could help the boy
-Also both god dogs have messed up ears that’s interesting
-Eat the bad man, Shield Dog!
-Okay, I can catch Zamazenta now
-You know what’s bullshit? If I hadn’t messed up the the naming convention Zamazenta would have a Z name. I mean, I could skip to Z, but then there’d be no Y
-The shields fixed his ear cool
-Okay, I know I caught XD lol haha here, but I’ve already dropped Nuzlocke rules so I’m catching this good boy with the master ball
-Welcome to the team, Yorrick
-Okay, lets go kick Hops ass for a final time
-Legit I would not be able to beat Hops final team if I was still Nuzlocking
-You want to be a professor, Hop? Isn’t that sweet, you think you can get a doctorate
-YES! I AM THE KING NOW. AS FIRST DECREE I ABOLISH THE MONARCHY PLEASE DONT GUILLOTINE ME
-I know that the Battle Tower and League Rematches are in this game but I’m going to end this here. Thank you so much for reading and following me on this journey
