My whole life, you were a teacher and friend to me Please know my actions are not motivated only by envy I too have a destiny This death will be art The people will speak of this day from near and afar This event will be history And I'll be great too I don't want what you have I wanna be you
This was supposed to be for the free prompt of the 8th day of @tes-summer-fest Heavily inspired by The Buttress' Brutus music video, the idea actually belongs to @trinimac and @ayem
[Image description: a greyscale image with red and blue accents portraying daedric princes Boethiah, Azura and Mephala and also Trinimac. Boethiah and Trinimac are in the foreground. Boethiah is a muscular dark-skinned elf with long fangs, she has snakes on her head instead of hair. He is covered in dark blood and has a smirk on his face. Boethiah is holding dying Trinimac who's wearing a full suit of armor and is covered in blood. His helmet has horns that used to form a circle but they're broken. There's a shining halo between the horns that's also not a perfect circle anymore. Azura and Mephala are in the background, standing in front of an arc and near a roman column. They’re both looking at Boethiah and Trinimac while smiling sinisterly. Mephala is a thin dark-skinned elf with six arms and eight red eyes. She also has spider mandibles. She’s wearing a white crown that looks like it’s made out of a spider web. She’s wearing some grey fabric that leaves her half-naked and shows three out of six of her breasts. Azura is a fat elven woman with a thick black braid. There's a star on her forehead and a crescent moon under her braid. She's also wearing a flower crown made out of red roses. She's wearing some grey fabric, similarly to Mephala. Azura has big bat wings that are semi-transparent. End ID.]

A Note from Fansplaining
If you’re subscribed to Fansplaining on iTunes or another podcatcher, you’ve probably seen that we put out a short statement this week in lieu of a new episode. Because we’re committed to making all audio we release fully accessible, we’ll transcribe the clip at the bottom of this post, below the cut. But fwiw, it’s mostly just explaining what’s in this post:
Black lives matter. We condemn white supremacy in all its forms. We believe the police should be defunded and dismantled. And we want to make sure everyone who listens to our podcast knows about ways they can contribute to this fight, and ways they can support the Black community (please note that these are U.S.-centric). We’ll be back with a new episode soon, but this is more important than anything we could say right now.
Places to donate
If you’re out of work or have lost hours in the past few months, you may not have money to spare. But even small donations—$5, $10—add up. A few organizations we recommend:
House of GG, a Black-led organization, is fundraising to build a permanent home in Little Rock, Arkansas where trans and gender-nonconforming people can both be housed and receive leadership training.
G.L.I.T.S. is fundraising to buy two buildings to create a permanent place to house and support Black trans people in New York City, as well as sign leases for space to use in the interim.
Sista Afya, a Chicago-based organization, is fundraising to keep its therapeutic services, social events, and wellness experiences under $15 and to hold large scale events like a free arts festival.
For a larger crowdsourced list, see suggestions here.
Ways to get involved if you can’t physically or monetarily participate
If, like us, you live in New York City, here’s a great resource for actionable things you can do from home. Here’s a national list, though for more granular detail for your town/city/region, you should search social media. Some great google doc action happening right now!!
As a reminder, when contacting elected officials:
Always write your own email, rather than use a form. People who work or have worked in these offices strongly advise this, and report that form emails are regularly filtered out, often directly into the trash.
Always write a postcard rather than a letter. Letters are scanned for things like anthrax and can get held up for days; postcards go straight through.
Ensure you know the official’s position on whatever you’re asking about before you call or write. If they’re already supporting or sponsoring a specific piece of legislation, call them anyway and thank them. They use constituent numbers to show that their positions have a lot of public support.
Particularly for white and non-BIPOC: reach out to your family members, as much as you feel safe doing so, and speak with them about Black Lives Matter and the issues of the day. If you have language barriers with your family members, or just need a place to start, Letters For Black Lives is a great resource that includes material in many languages.
Stream this video—all ad revenue will go to bail funds, families of victims of racist police brutality, and other Black-led organizations.
Resources on anti-Blackness and racism in fandom
Because we are a fandom podcast, we encourage white fans in particular to continue to listen to Black fans and other fans of color when it comes to racism in fandom. If you’re new to the podcast or haven’t dug into the full back catalogue, we recommend prioritizing:
Our pair of episodes on race and racism in fandom—especially anti-Blackness in fandom—featured eight different guests. Episodes 22A and B: “Race and Fandom Part 1” and “Race and Fandom Part 2.”
Ebony Elizabeth Thomas was one of our earliest and one of our most recent repeat guests. You can listen to her talk about race, children’s literature, and fandom in episode 7, “The Dark Fantastic” and episode 120, “Ebony Elizabeth Thomas.” Once you’ve listened to these episodes, buy or request that your library purchase a copy of her book, The Dark Fantastic.
Tanya DePass is the founder of I Need Diverse Games. In episode 42, “Fresh Out of Tokens,” she discussed fan/creator interaction and intersectionality in the context of games specifically.
Rukmini Pande is a well-known scholar of race and fandom. She first joined us in episode 29, “Shipping and Activism,” to talk about the ways that ships intersect with politics; then, she returned in episode 89, “Rukmini Pande,” and discussed her academic work. Once you’ve listened to these episodes, buy or request that your library purchase a copy of her book, Squee From the Margins.
In episode 48, “Con or Bust,” we interviewed Diana Pho and Mark Oshiro, two board members of Con or Bust, an organization that raises money to help fans of color attend conventions.
For further reading, Fan Studies Network North America has put together a great list of resources.

[Intro music: “Awel” by stefsax]
Flourish Klink: Hi, Elizabeth.
Elizabeth Minkel: Hi, Flourish.
FK: Welcome to not an episode of Fansplaining. Um, we almost completely canceled recording at all, but we decided that we wanted to record a short thing, because we know some people only receive us through their podcatcher or whatever and don’t ever go to our website or our social media. So it felt important that we actually record something short today.
ELM: All right. So, just off the bat, at the risk of sounding like a terrible brand black .jpg with white letters, I think it should be obvious to everybody right now but it’s always worth restating—Black Lives Matter. We strongly support everything that is happening right now. We both strongly believe that the police should be…what word are we gonna use? Dismantled?
FK: Yes.
ELM: Dismantled. Like, we, like, you know—and like, strongly condemn white supremacy, which is the foundation of our country and much of the world.
FK: Right. So…
ELM: Very broad statement here, but like, you know, it’s definitely worth stating in explicit terms and not couching it around, you know, just to outright state support for Black people and the fight that is going on right now.
FK: Completely. And we really struggled with whether or not to record an episode because, on the one hand, there’s a lot of topics that we think would be really good to talk about that are within the purview of this podcast—stuff like the way people are using social media to organize, stuff like the entire conversation around K-pop fandom and the way that’s been going down. There’s like five things.
ELM: Spoiler, spoiler: It’s been going down poorly.
FK: Yeah.
ELM: Wait, side note: just anyone, please please please, cause I know a lot of people listen to this podcast and are in fandom but are not in K-pop fandom, if an article that you’re sharing about K-pop fans mobilizing doesn’t acknowledge the, like, rampant anti-Blackness happening within those spaces right now, they haven’t done enough research.
FK: Correct. And also, it’s both that and also if you see the narrative that K-pop fans are only bots, that’s also the other flip bad side of the coin.
ELM: Well, we should—now we’re gettin’ right into it. We’re not actually doing an episode. We’re not actually doing an episode. Yes.
FK: We’re actually gonna talk about this at some point in the future. Right now it feels like, you know, just being two white women talking about this stuff feels like not the thing to do right now? And we also don’t want to right now ask Black people to come on to our podcast and talk about things in a deeply traumatic and horrible moment. So we’re going to put a pin in the podcast and we’re gonna come back with all of those topics and a bunch of guests and basically begin to address this stuff, hopefully in a moment that’s less fraught. Is it ever gonna get less fraught? I don’t know if it’s gonna get less fraught.
ELM: That being said, let’s play it by ear! Because I could not tell you what’s gonna happen two weeks from now, but like…
FK: [sighs] Yeah, I really don’t know either.
ELM: Just, we’ll see. So in the meantime, we are going to put a post on Tumblr so it’ll be shareable, and we are going to include resources—places to donate, in particular places that aren’t getting as much attention. More grassroots stuff that we’re seeking out right now. And also ways to be active and involved for people who don’t have the money or physical ability to be protesting right now, because I am very aware of the narrative of “You should be in the streets! And if not then you should donate!” And it’s like, well, what happens if you are unemployed and also physically unable to get out there? There are so many ways that you can really be, actively lend your support right now.
So we’ll put those in there, and then also, we shared on Twitter a thread of great resources about anti-Blackness and racism in fandom, and since this is a fandom podcast we’ll be sharing some of those in that post as well, because it’s all connected.
FK: Absolutely. All right, everyone out there, stay safe, stay strong, if you’re in the streets stay in the streets, and we’ll be back when we can.
ELM: OK, bye Flourish!
FK: Bye, Elizabeth.

My Review for THE RED SHOES - 1948 - by Powell & Pressburger.
So I decided to take my blu ray copy of THE RED SHOES by Powell and Pressburger movie and calmly watch it one more time in order to prepare this review. To my surprise this copy continues with the incredibly beautiful and crystalline image. I confess I'm curious to watch it in 4K UHD because this movie really deserves the best of the best. So I decided to put this video presentation maybe even to introduce this film to a new generation that doesn't know this cinematic wonder yet, as well as trying to explain why movies in Technicolor have such an exciting image especially in the 40's or 50's decade. It is somewhat curious how the mystique of red shoes works in popular myth but it is also interesting that it is always related to women almost in general. Red is fire, blood, heat, romance, passion, youth, beauty and emotion. But there is also danger and danger and even street signs represent a complete stop. Directors Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger used the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale "The Red Shoes" written in 1845 to make and retell the same story in 1948 in the film of the same name in ballet form and in the drama of the three main characters. . Boris Lermontov (the always excellent Anton Walbrook more than perfect in this film) is a hugely successful manager from a Classic Ballet Company with a passion for music and dance that expresses itself in his persona and eccentricities as well as a methodical and calculating man. In the first performance of the Ballet Lermontov film we are introduced to the three central characters besides Boris. They are Vicky Page (the beautiful Moira Shearer, who studied ballet and appears here in her first film) and music student Julian Craster (Marius Goring) who leaves the performance believing that her music had been plagiarized by her teacher and author of the music of the piece. After the performance Boris is introduced to Vicky and Vicky invites her to one of his rehearsals. Julian then writes a letter to Lermontov telling the circumstances of the plagiarism of his composition. Even though he regrets having written the letter, he falls into the hands of Boris who challenges the young man to play something of his original authorship and, impressed, hires Julian to join his company as a repetiteur. And during the rehearsals that Julian discreetly approaches Vicky and Boris while watching Vicky dancing, he begins to think about a new ballet piece having as a prima ballerina Vicky and this piece will be The Red Shoes with music by Julian. With the resounding success of the new ballet the company further solidifies its prestige. Vicky secretly falls in love with Julian without Boris' knowledge. I think you can imagine what would happen when Boris discovered the romance unfolding behind his back. At this point the characters converge in secrets, plots and dangerous relationships that are always represented in the brilliant cinematography of Jack Cardiff that always highlights and expresses the color red during the film. Very few times in history have colors been used in such a participative way in a drama like this. The Technicolor process is super advanced and the camera in which this film was used was simply colossal and very heavy. But the work that in this case has to be highlighted and the restoration team that in 2009 achieved what was perhaps impossible at the time to correct the defects of the original print and the 4K high resolution scan makes today we watch this movie with an infinite image superior even in relation to the time this film opened in theaters in 1948. To return to the central story found in Christian Andersen's fable all these factors in which the character Vicky who wants to be famous and loves dance finds herself in an intrigue in which she will have to choose between the career she loves so much with Ballet and stay with Boris, or the love of her life and decide for Julian. In the fable, shoes are what they possess and seduce the afflicted young woman who cannot resist the temptation to wear and show off with such a seductive gift. So I would say that the film is about the main protagonist's stubbornness, her vanities and the illusion in which she thinks or assumes that she controls everything around her when in fact she is being manipulated and reacting against her will. And for us as an audience we can only live all these emotions through an absolutely wonderful film scripted in cinematography and music of supreme quality in a work of art in vibrant and intense Technicolor.

Real life Marauders
There are 4 boys who are in my grade who are best friends who remind me of the marauders. Each of their personalities match up almost perfectly, and since I haven’t seen them in a while I thought I’d write down some stories about them. Here’s a little introduction to each of the un official marauders:
James Potter: the one I’m probably closest to. He is so unbelievably dumb, but also kind of smart?? He’s so funny and he doesn’t even realize it, and sometimes he just goes on and on and you just can tell that the others just aren’t listening because “oh, it’s James.” He’s in my English and Math class
Sirius Black: extremely good looking, with long dark hair. Don’t know much about him, other than the fact that he’s best friends with James, Remus, and Peter. He has more common sense than James but still is immature. Flirts with me and [Marlene] in math.
Remus Lupin: The one I know the least, but have the most classes with. We have English, History, Science, and Math together, and seeing him with different members of the marauders is very funny. He’s rather quiet and super smart, but once he’s sitting with his friends his filter comes off. Overall very sweet.
Peter Pettigrew: In my LA class. Super sweet and really funny, and very close to the other boys. He’s pretty clever and fun to sit with, but mostly follows James’ lead. Very nice.
And now here are some stories that I have:
Math:
- The first encounter I had with James and Sirius was when they sat at a table with my good friend who I recognize as Marlene. I was talking to her, when all of a sudden James asked me “do you have a spare binder? I messed mine up” and showed me his completely destroyed binder. Conveniently I did so I gave it to him. The first thing he did was put his hand behind the plastic cover and poke holes through it with his pencil.
- Whenever we had group work time in math, Remus and I would pull up extra desks and sit with James, Sirius, and Marlene. We wouldn’t do any work.
- before a math test, James made up some stupid analogy about alligators to help him remember something??
- during the same test, the teacher walked out of the room, and the events were as followed: Marlene didn’t know what she was doing so Sirius took her test and was looking at it. James and I were trying to figure out wtf was going on and we were equally as lost, so I began to cheat off of him. When the teacher walked back in, Sirius threw Marlene’s paper back at her and it was so hard not to laugh. We didn’t get caught. When we got the tests back, I got a 97%, and James got a 63%. He almost got us caught when he said to me, “but you cheated off of me??!!”
- James was copying my math notes because he had missed a day. Sirius, who often messed with James paper (ex: ripping holes in his paper with his pencil, scribbling on it, etc), squirted chocolate milk all over my notes. When he realized it was mine, he wouldn’t stop apologizing.
- I let James and Sirius copy my stuff just so long as they let me explain it to them so they can do it on their own.
- James and I were arguing about what colors each subject was (English is RED!!! And math is BLUE). Sirius was genuinely confused that subjects had colors??? And the argument got really heated until Remus pointed out James was colorblind so obviously he was wrong >:(
- Sirius tries to coach James with his math work, but gets frustrated super fast with him, so I have to be the one to do it.
- Since no one else was doing their work other than Remus and I, I turned to him and asked whag he got for one of them to see if I did it right, and he ignored me. He later apologized because he thought I was just trying to copy him like James and Sirius always do.
- James did something loud and disruptive in the middle of a lesson, then blamed it on Remus. Remus mouthed “ill kill you” over and over to James. It took everything we had to stop Marlene and I from bursting out laughing.
- James likes to show me Bigfoot videos
- when our desks are put in rows for tests, when they all walk in, they all sprint to get any seat other than the front. James usually ends up sitting front row, which means that whoever’s behind him will tickle him.
- James got a text from a random number who was claiming to be some woman. We were joking and said it was sex trafficking, and Sirius said “who’d want James??” And Remus said “Id sex traffic James.”
- our teacher lets us sit together but we have to sit right in front of his desk :(
- whenever Marlene and I get in trouble for talking, we always get fake disappointed looks from Sirius and ESPECIALLY James.
English:
- I sat at a table for a while with James, Remus, and Peter. And what. A. Time.
- we were pretty rowdy all the time and never got our work done, but since I was the teachers favorite I never got in trouble.
- our teacher would get angry at our whole group and yell at us, then just apologize to me later, which drove James absolutely crazy.
- I catch James staring at me and giving me funny looks often in class, so when I ask what he wants he just waves his hands and looks away like he did nothing wrong.
- Peter is very sweet on the outside but that boy can talk some SH!T!!! Our English teacher is insane so whenever she isn’t looking he would make fun of her
- they spent an entire class period trying to touch their thumbs to their wrists (none of them could) and when I showed them I could, they all lost it. I didn’t think it was that strange??
- we have to write down what we’re greatful for at the beginning of every class, and I always ask James what to write. He gets this far off look in his eyes and always gives me something dumb like “tin foil” or “white crayons.” I always take his suggestion.
-one time James wrote down “substitute teachers” and shared it to the class one day, and got in trouble for it. He got a detention for “insulting a teacher.”
- Remus and I tell James and Peter all of the answers to questions because they never read the assigned books.
- I’m pretty sure James doesn’t know how to read??
- I’m kidding (maybe?)
-Remus and I get into arguments with our English teacher because she doesn’t know anything??? Any time she says anything factually incorrect (which is a lot) we both immediately give eachother a look and raise our hands.
- The three of them were blasting some music out of their earbuds during work time. Our teacher asked what was happening, and James said “Rap music. It helps with learning Shakespeare, did you know? It’s like Mozart and classical music, but there’s actually really cool studies about it you should look up.” Thats bs.
- we had a timed writing and Remus and I took turns getting eachother extra pages. James and Peter were horrified when we were on our 4th and 5th pages and they were still outlining.
- James snaps his fingers when he’s trying to remember something
- we had to perform Shakespeare scenes in groups, and I can not remember why they did this?? But Remus ended up spitting water all over Peter in front of the class.
- we were reading life of pi, and I overheard James say “You know at the end of naked and afraid how they give the survival ratings? Pi would be an 8.4 at LEAST” and the other two completely ignored him. I thought it was funny.
- Marlene was doing Valengrams, and she came outside of our classroom and tried to wave to me. I didn’t see, but James did, and overly enthusiastically waved back, which caused the teacher to yell at him.
- overheard peter say “You ever seen penguins of Madagascar? how did that make sense?” And James enthusiastically agreed.
- Remus gives them snacks
Extra:
- James pushes me in the hallway just because he’s taller than me >:(
- James also likes to show off. We were walking to the library when he started bragging about how he could touch the ceiling (since they’re super high up), so I told him to prove it. He could, but he ended up breaking one of the ceiling tiles. We ran.
- While Remus’ legs are the longest, Sirius and James get insecure about it and spread their legs as far as they can. Sitting across from them is a nightmare because their legs are always in ur personal space.
- where there are marauders, there’s a Snape. Marlene and I have a group chat with him in it and other people, but we also have one without him. One day, while we’re all standing there, Marlene texts the wrong group chat (with him in it) “[SEVERUS] JUST FARTED. IT WAS WET. I HEARD IT.”
- she felt bad for a moment, but when I told her she should probably apologize, she said “why? he did.”
- I have to ask Remus for help in science sometimes and he’s always eager to help.
- we had an online discussion in English, and Peter spoke once, Remus asked a few good questions, and James didn’t even show up.
- I miss them all dearly bc school is cancelled because of COVID :(

credits and thanks
credits for non-themes
because sometimes tumblr will refuse to post in tags if I add links, and because I want to give due credit especially since I tend to share a lot of things for free:
-whenever I’ll use a texture that isn’t a very simple gradient or an edited photo, you have to thank @ravenclawwit for all fancy ones unless stated otherwise.
-skeletons of themes I’ll share unless said otherwise, psds I make, and many techniques have been learned from @octomoosey‘s tutorials.
-Christmas things, which are not commissions but done for free, have been done using @plldailly‘s textures unless stated otherwise in the post
-overlays were downloaded from @scottvandyne or taken from octomoosey’s tag, or from @hermionegrangcr (here) or @kaeveeoh-art here, @faiataka here,  teamenti doodlepack on deviantart and more to come.
-I am basically studying @evansyhelp ‘s code page and checking out all her links which you’ll see me reblog whenever I use.
this list will keep getting updated - I also have a credits tag for things I use less often but are equally wonderful here. and obviously with the exception of people saying there is no need to do that (so sometimes I may skip because they are here) in every post I will use the @ mention  or at least write ‘I used x which I took from Y’
Credits for my themes
note that some of the following things may have been changed to a barely recognizable point, but I still want to credit the people who first taught me how to do them through their tutorials (or who shared their codes). I use them in most of my themes.
If I use a different script from what I have here (for example a different askbox script, I'll specify it in the theme's credit post. If you are mentioned here and want to be mentioned specifically in the credit post of each theme, and not just have people redirected to this page, let me know! I thought it would be better if you didn’t have me in your notifications all the time out of politeness, it’s not a problem for me to actually mention you when I write extra credits.
as always thank you to octomoosey because without their tutorials I would have never tried coding, and for general popup information, tooltips and scrollbars. Their blog is full of tutorials and my theme's body usually comes from them even if it keeps changing little by little.  My audio-posts will be styled following their tutorial too.
Special mention to evansyhelp again for putting so many resources together.
Thank you to @agirlingrey for the  dropdown link tutorials and tab tutorials (  in some blogs the tabs and dropdowns look very different or are even positioned in completely different ways) and for a first look at how to animate links. Their blog is also full of tutorials.
Now, if you see any of the following extras in my themes, here are the credits unless I say otherwise in the post:
@eggdesign ’s tutorials for the popup askbox colors change  and for the night mode button
@whateverhtml for tumblr askbox height fix.
@annasthms unnested captions using undocumented docs
@magnusthemes for a message before the regular askbox  and remove tumblr redirect links

Header Coloring Tutorial
(Requested by anonymous)
What you need:
Adobe Photoshop (any version)
VLC Media Player/ KMPlayer / any player with screengrab capabilities
Mood music (optional)
Here I will be showing you how I make my headers, specifically in a pastel coloring style. This is a long image-heavy post! You can find the whole tutorial under the cut.
0. Put on some background music.
I like to listen to Tatsuro Yamashita's music when I make pastel GIFs/edits because I feel like his songwriting is pastel-colored. (He's also an amazing musician overall. I highly recommend his 1980 album Ride On Time!)
1. Find the image/scene you want to use.
When finding scenes to screengrab, I recommend working with video files that are 1080p or higher. 720p is adequate, but if you have the option to get a copy in 1080p, do it! Avoid working with anything lower than 720p.
To screengrab, open the video file in VLC / KMP / etc. then take a screengrab of the scene you want to use. Each player has different controls for taking screengrabs; go to Settings to find out the keyboard shortcuts.
The screengrab we're using for this tutorial is from Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon Classic Episode 15. Here is the "raw" version:
Tumblr media
2. Open your screengrab in Photoshop.
Open Photoshop, then click File > Open > [your screengrab]. Usually VLC / KMP will save the file in your Pictures folder.
3. Crop the image.
Click the Crop Tool, then type in your desired width and height in pixels (px). For headers, it doesn't really matter what size you pick as long as the aspect ratio is 16:9. This online aspect ratio calculator is incredibly useful.
Tumblr media
(Disclaimer: I realized only after taking all the screenshots for this tutorial that the example I'm using doesn't have a 16:9 aspect ratio. My apologies. Anyway, do as I say, not as I do. LMAO)
4. Sharpen your image.
Initially, in the Layers panel, you should have one layer named Background. Right-click this layer, then click Duplicate Layer. Then click the eye next to the Background layer to make it invisible.
Tumblr media
Now click the Background copy layer. On the menu bar at the top of the screen, click Filter > Sharpen > Smart Sharpen. These are my settings:
Tumblr media
Sometimes the difference isn't so readily apparent, but when an image is sharpened, it goes:
Tumblr media
(This next step is optional.)
To achieve a sharp look but with softer edges, duplicate the Background copy layer. Click the Background copy 2 layer. Then click Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur. These are my settings:
Tumblr media
At first the image will get all blurry, so set the Background copy 2 layer's opacity to 30%.
Tumblr media
5. Create these four adjustment layers as your base.
This is the base I use for almost all of my edits. It helps set the "look" I'm going for.
(I learned this from this tutorial by @completeresources.)
Above the Layers panel, you'll find the Adjustments panel.
Tumblr media
a.) Click Levels (top row, second from left). This adjustment will lighten the image considerably and sort of wash out the colors.
Tumblr media
These are my settings:
Tumblr media
When you're done, click the arrow at the bottom to return to the Adjustments list.
b.) Click Selective Color (bottom row, rightmost).
Tumblr media
Click the drop-down button next to Reds and choose Blacks (at the very bottom of the list). Then move the Black slider (bottom slider) up to 100%. This will "protect" the blacks in your image once you start going crazy with the coloring later.
Tumblr media
c.) Click Vibrance (middle row, rightmost).
Tumblr media
Set the vibrance to around 30-40. I went with 35 here. This will make the colors pop just a tiny (almost invisible) bit.
Tumblr media
d.) Click Gradient Map (bottom row, second from right).
Tumblr media
Click the black-and-white option, then OK.
Tumblr media
In the Layers panel, change the Gradient Map's blending option from Normal to Exclusion. Then set the opacity to 10%. Now the image will look slightly faded.
Tumblr media
Now let's compare the image before and after these adjustments:
Tumblr media
6. Adjust the coloring.
So first of all, I just have to say that Selective Color is my best friend. I use it all the time (way too much).
As you can see, the most prominent color in the image is light purplish-pink. I was really feeling the pink, so I wanted to make the image even more pink. To do this, click Selective Color, then select Magentas from the list. I don't have a fixed formula for coloring, so all I really do is play around with the sliders until I find the color I want. Experiment as much as you like. After fiddling with the sliders, these are the settings I ended up with:
Tumblr media
Now the purplish parts are essentially gone.
Tumblr media
But the yellow-green of the trees is still a little too striking for me, so I clicked Selective Color again, then selected Yellows. I fiddled with the sliders again and ended up with this:
Tumblr media
Now the trees don’t clash as much with the pink anymore.
Tumblr media
I'm still not completely sold on this coloring at this point. Now I want to add a bit of blue. So I adjusted the Color Balance (middle row, third from left).
Tumblr media
These are my settings:
Tumblr media
And this is the image:
Tumblr media
Some of the purple bits have returned, though they're not as prominent as they were before. The image is still mostly pink.
7. Add one last Gradient Map. For the final step, add a Gradient Map just like last time. But instead of setting the blending option to Exclusion, this time set it to Overlay with the opacity at 10%.
Tumblr media
And now here is our finished header:
Tumblr media
8. Add a divider. (optional)
If you want an asymmetrical divider or a torn paper divider, here's what you have to do.
a.) Asymmetrical divider - Click the Polygon Tool and make sure the Sides are set to 3 and the color is white (#ffffff).
Tumblr media
Now draw a triangle over the header. Make it slightly bigger than the image itself. Then click the Move Tool and check the Show Transformation Controls box so you can adjust the size and placement of the triangle.
Tumblr media
This is how the header looks with this type of divider:
Tumblr media
b.) Torn paper divider - In the Layers panel, click the New Layer button (second from left, next to the trash can) and set the blending option to Screen.
Tumblr media
Then select the Brush tool and pick a brush that could imitate torn paper edges. (The brush I used here is from @completeresources’ 20k celebration pack.) Then draw over the image. Fill in any gaps if necessary.
Tumblr media
This is how it looks with the torn paper divider:
Tumblr media
9. Save your header. Click File > Save for Web & Devices. Alternatively, you could also click Ctrl + Alt + Shift + S. Make sure it's set to JPEG, then click Save.
Tumblr media
Now your header is ready to use!
So that's how I make my headers, but this is definitely not the only way to color images. There are so many more tutorials out there for other styles of coloring. Keep studying and keep experimenting until you find the style that you really like.
I hope this tutorial helped!

The Flutist
This latest addition to my and @histoireettralala‘s ever-growing Trifecta AU was partially inspired by our love of the fact that Michel Ney played the flute, and partially by a scenario we randomly came up with one day regarding baby Louise Murat being fascinated with Ney’s red hair.
... Also, partially by my constant need for Marshalate fluff these days.
Enjoy! :)
***
[Age: 1]
Michel Ney can't remember the last time he's been stared down this hard by a baby. But he is prepared to give as good as he gets; blue eyes lock on to blue eyes. The contest commences.
He hasn't spent much time around this one-year-old who bears such a striking resemblance to her father. In addition to sharing his eyes (both in color and mischief), little Louise Murat has also inherited Joachim's dark, curly hair, rounded chin, and thickset lips.
His attention span, too, apparently, Ney thinks, as the baby quickly grows bored with the stare-down; the wide blue eyes shift upwards. Settling on Ney's hair, they widen yet further.
Murat, holding the squirming child, grins at Ney.
"You're the first redhead she's ever seen."
Ney can't help but smile.
A plump little arm stretches towards him. A stream of incomprehensible baby gibberish babbles forth.
"I think she wants to touch your hair," Murat interprets without missing a beat. "Is that okay?"
Ney chuckles. "Sure, why not."
Murat gently lowers baby Louise, guiding her wobbly steps--she has only recently started walking--across the narrow gap on the sofa between the two men. A moment later she latches onto Ney's shoulder, mouth agape in wonder as she continues studying the red hair intently.
"Bababababa," Louise says, staring Ney in the face.
"My, aren't you a talkative one," Ney replies. "Just like your Papa." He gives her a wink.
"She is indeed," Murat says proudly.
A tiny hand reaches towards Ney's hair.
"Gently, sweetheart," says Murat.
"It's okay," Ney reassures him.
Her face full of wonder, baby Louise pets and pats the strange red hair, narrating the exploration with a series of random coos and gurgles. Murat is smiling in delight; he pulls out his cellphone to take a picture--no, a video! Caroline and Aglaé will both love this!
Ney is beaming too--until Louise suddenly grabs a fistful of his hair and gives it a much sharper yank than he would expect from a one-year-old.
"AHHH-D-D-D-D-D" Ney grits his teeth, bending down slightly towards the baby to alleviate the pulling. He sees Louise opening her mouth wide and--Wait, is she trying to--
Yes. Louise is trying to eat his hair.
"JOAC--"
But Murat has already dropped the phone and is hastily reaching over to gently extract Louise's hand from Ney's hair, scooping the baby up into his arms. The little girl looks, for a moment, as if she is about to cry--she flails towards Ney, whining--but Murat is an expert at this sort of thing, and has her distracted and laughing again in no time.
Twenty minutes later, Murat has to take a phone call.
"Go on," Ney says. "I can keep an eye on her."
"Thanks."
By the time he returns, the reconciliation is complete: Louise is sound asleep, snuggling against (and drooling on) Ney's shoulder. She hadn't even tried to eat his hair again.
Murat reaches out tentatively. "Here, I can--"
--Ney shoots him an indignant look, unconsciously pulling the slumbering baby away from her father.
"Um. Okay then," Murat says, chuckling as he runs a hand through his hair. "Just, you know, make sure to give her back to me eventually."
"Do I have to?"
"Yeah. I've gotten pretty attached to her."
That makes two of us. He and Aglaé have four sons, but no daughters. He'd always hoped a girl would come along for them eventually, but it didn't seem to be in the cards. Now all of a sudden, tiny Louise Murat, with her wild curls and curious blue eyes and grabby little hands, has stolen his heart.
Either Ney's face is betraying his thoughts far more than he means for it to, or Murat is a mind-reader.
"Tell you what," Murat says with a knowing smile. "How 'bout if we share?"
"Deal."
***
[Age: 6]
Ney has been invited to a tea party.
Although he isn't entirely sure whether "invited" is the right word.
Actual invitations can be declined. But Louise has no sooner "invited" Ney to the tea party than she takes him by the wrist and begins dragging him up the stairs. He looks down at BunBun, being likewise dragged along by Louise's other hand. The giant, floppy stuffed rabbit has been Louise's favorite toy since Murat brought him home from a recent trip to an amusement park with Ney and Lannes. Apparently BunBun has been "invited" to the tea party too.
"Is there going to be room for both me and BunBun?" Ney asks.
"Yes," Louise says. "It's a big table. And you're my special guest!"
"I thought BunBun was your special guest?"
"BunBun lives here," Louise says dismissively. "You're my special, SPECIAL guest."
"Well then," Ney says, "I consider myself honored."
They finally reach the top of the stairs and Louise opens the door to Letitia's room, where all the tea parties are hosted.
Already seated at the table are Letitia, Mr. Bear, and Murat, the latter scrunched precariously into a pink plastic chair that is clearly much too small for him.
"Greetings!" Murat says with a broad grin. "I take it Louise invited you?"
"Indeed," Ney confirms with a nod. "I'm a special, special guest."
***
[Age: 10]
Ney's fingers flutter expertly over the keys of his flute; the cheerful notes of Bach's Partita in A Minor peal through the air. It is a difficult piece, but also a long-time favorite, and after playing it for so many years, he has little need to reference the sheet music in front of him anymore.
He had fallen in love with the instrument at twelve years old. The only boy in his school band to choose the flute, Ney had endured some teasing from his peers for picking what they considered a "girl's instrument," but it had never fazed him. In his eyes, it was their loss for not being able to appreciate the flute's beauty and versatility.
By high school he was the best flutist in his class, and his talents ended up earning him a college scholarship. In college, they helped him charm Aglaé, who played the clarinet in the college orchestra. And the rest was history; as far as he was concerned, Ney could trace all of his current happiness to learning to play the flute during his childhood.
He had hoped one of his sons would develop a liking for it as well, but so far they were all gravitating to--Ney grimaces inwardly--the brass section. Where did I go wrong?
Ney concludes the final notes of the piece, and is startled to hear applause. He turns to see Murat and little Louise, clapping happily from the doorway.
"That was so pretty Uncle Michel!" Louise exclaims.
"Incredible!" says Murat. "Why have I never heard you play before?"
Ney blushes. "I rarely play in public anymore. Thanks though, I'm glad you liked it."
"Well you absolutely should play in public more! Our friends would love to hear it! Isn't that right, darling?" he asks Louise.
"Papa is right! You play so good!" the ten-year-old says.
"Thank you, my dear."
"May I hold the flute? I've never held a flute before."
"Yes, of course!" Ney hands Louise the flute. The child studies the instrument in rapt fascination, running her littlefingers over the intricate keys and tubes.
"Next year she'll be old enough to play in the school band," Murat says.
"Oh yeah? Has she chosen an instrument yet?"
Murat looks down at his daughter, who is still captivated by the flute. He smiles.
"Possibly." ***
[Age 11]
The following year when Murat informed Ney that Louise had, indeed, decided she wanted to learn to play the flute for the school band, Ney had scarcely been able to contain his joy.
"Also," Murat began, "she's wondering if you'd be willing to teach her some of the basics, before her formal lessons begin next month?"
"Tell her I would be delighted to."
Sitting in the Murats' beautiful garden now, he has, so far, taught Louise how to put the flute together, what all the various parts are called, how to clean the instrument, how to hold it, and proper posture. Now, for the most important part: how to make the sound come out.
He shows her how to form the necessary embouchure--the positioning of the lips in relation to the blowhole of the flute--and demonstrates with his own flute: a clear, sonorous B-flat emanates through the garden.
Louise tries to copy his face, and blows into her flute.
PPHHHHHTHTHHTHTHTHHHHH.
She tries again.
PPHHHHHTHTHHTHTHTHHHHH.
And again.
PPHHHHHTHTHHTHTHTHHHHH.
Louise is dismayed. It isn't working! Is her flute broken?
She hands the instrument to Ney; he holds it up, arranges his embouchure, and plays another B-flat.
"Your flute works perfectly," he says reassuringly.
Louise tries again and again, over and over, but still fails to get any sound to come out of the flute. Ney can see that she is getting frustrated.
"Don't be discouraged," he tells her. "This is usually the hardest part for every beginner."
"Was it hard for you too?"
"Oh yes. It took me hours to do it right the first time. And multiple lessons. I was in total despair after a while, but then I just... did it. Somehow. And once I made that first note, I didn't have any problems doing it again. It was like something had just clicked, and now I could play the flute. So, don't worry. You'll get it eventually, I promise. We're not going to give up. Okay?"
"Okay."
A little over an hour later, the PPHHHHHTHTHHTHTHTHHHHH suddenly morphs into a resounding OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
Louise lowers the flute, staring at Ney with wide eyes.
"Uncle Michel!! I did it!!! I'm playing the flute!!!!" she raises the flute again and, making the same embouchure as before, plays a full, crystal-clear note.
Ney turns away just for a brief instant, to wipe away a sudden, unexpected tear.
***
Ney makes his way towards the front row, his eyes finding Murat's curly hair in the dim light of the school auditorium.
"Glad you could make it!" Murat greets him. "Caroline and I saved you a seat."
"Thank you," Ney says, sitting down beside his friend. "Wouldn't miss it for the world."
Louise has been working very hard for the past six months, and tonight is her first concert with the school band. Additionally--and Murat had barely able to contain his excitement when he'd told Ney--she was going to be performing a duet with another student. The band instructor had been so delighted with the progress of both girls so far, that he wanted to give them a moment in the spotlight to showcase their developing talents.
"Is she nervous?" Ney asks.
"Honestly, I think she's more nervous about playing in front of you than anything," Murat chuckles.
Ney grins. "I can't imagine why. We practice together all the time!"
"Yes, exactly. She's worried she's going to mess up and disappoint you."
"No, that won't happen," Ney says firmly.
The concert begins. While the band of eleven- and twelve-year-olds performs its ensemble, Caroline dutifully records it on her phone, Murat sniffles and wipes his teary eyes with a handkerchief throughout, and Ney wallows in nostalgia, vividly remembering his own days playing with the school band. He smiles at the sight of Louise, so poised for her age, playing every song without missing a beat, as if she'd been in the band for years.
"My little princess," Murat wibbles during the break between pieces, falling apart into the handkerchief again. Caroline smiles and runs her fingers through his hair, but Ney can't help but notice her own eyes are glistening in the darkness of the auditorium.
"You should've seen him when Letitia played the Butterfly Queen in her first school play," Caroline tells Ney.
Murat gives a shuddering sob into the handkerchief at the memory; Ney, shoulders shaking, conceals his laughter behind a hand.
Now it is time for Louise's duet. She is introduced to the audience. Only the firm hand of Caroline on his forearm keeps Murat from springing up out of his chair to cheer for his daughter.
"Don't embarrass her, dearest," Caroline whispers reprovingly.
"Right. Sorry," Murat says sheepishly.
Louise and her companion begin playing Beethoven's "Ode to Joy," with the band instructor accompanying them on thepiano.
Ney smiles. The Ninth Symphony has always held a special place in his heart, and now it is going to be even morespecial.
Louise hits every note perfectly.
The audience applauds after the girls finish their performance. Louise curtseys, lighting up at the sight of her parents and Uncle Michel in the front row. She gives them a wave before returning to her seat with the rest of the band.
Murat is a mess. But Ney is surprised to find his own face suddenly wet too. He fumbles through his pockets for a tissue. Damn it all. Probably should've anticipated this.
Murat hands him a handkerchief.
"I always bring a spare," he explains.
"Thanks." Maybe I should too. What is happening to him? He's slowly turning into Murat--a big, blubbery, walking catastrophe. Oh God.
After the concert, he stoops to give Louise a hug.
"Did I do good, Uncle Michel?"
"You were brilliant, my dear. I'm more proud of you than I can possibly put into words."
Louise is beaming. She hopes he'll come with Papa and Mama to all her concerts from now on.
"As your special guest?" Ney asks.
"My special, SPECIAL guest."
Murat claps him on the shoulder cheerfully.
"In that case," he says, "you might want to order some handkerchiefs."

Note
everyones doing these and I want your thoughts. who are the 5sos babies and what are they like
okay so years ago I had a little universe of 5SOS and their kids and most of this is from then:
The Hemmings Children:
Bethany Jane: Oldest child, very shy and reserved, wants to be a nuclear engineer when she grows up or maybe a princess (until she’s older, then she decides to major in medical lab sciences), definitely in love with Teddy Irwin
Holly Anne: very outgoing, loves extracurricular activities and is part of too many to count (cheerleading, dance team, chess club, book club, key club, drama club, band choir and orchestra), definite daddy’s girl, wants to go into music therapy
Caden James:, always wants to hang out with “gramps” and read the newspaper, very into academics (he took 6 AP classes his freshman year of high school, though he doesn't like to brag), also on the lacrosse team
Spencer Robert: only 7.5 months younger than Caden (Luke couldn’t wait the 6 weeks and his wife needed an emergency c-section after a car accident), still very small from being premature, Caden’s best friend, 100% a momma’s boy, everyone thinks he and Caden are twins so they just say yes
The Irwin Children:
Theodore “Teddy” Fletcher: Oldest child, adores Bethany Hemmings, wants to be a botanist (eventually opens his own flower shop with Bethany after they’re married), doesn't take school seriously because he’s got dyslexia and none of his teachers have been very nice, goes on study dates with Bethany because she understands how to help
Presley Annabelle: Paisley’s twin, daddy’s girl, wants to be just like her dad and even starts a band with Paisley and Camilla Hood, likes to skip school to go to concerts (Ashton likes to go with her and they both agree not to tell mum)
Paisley Grace: Presley’s twin, incredibly sweet and gentle, has the hugest crush on Spenny Hemmings but is too shy to say anything, wants to be a neonatal nurse
The Hood Children:
Camilla Koa: Oldest child, loud and outgoing, never shuts up, has a new crush every day, prom queen, most popular girl in school, bestest friends with Bethany Hemmings though they run in different social circles at school, wants to be a sound engineer on her dad’s tour, plays bass in her band with Presley and Paisley Irwin
Carolina Joy: Complete copy of Calum, exactly the same mannerisms, same smile and laugh
Cameron Fletcher: Calum’s favorite bisexual (though he may be just a little biased), uncle Mike is her favorite uncle, loves to play video games, makes the best homemade pizza, wants to be a video game engineer and make her own games, learns how to code at a young age
Carter Mae: stereotypical girly girl, always has her hair and makeup done perfectly, always has flashy colors and designs on her nails, spends hours at the mall with Gwen Clifford, definitely has a crush on Preston Clifford though she can't tell Gwen that
Caelen David: the only Hood boy, adores his Auntie Mali and only ever wants to hear Mali sing, wants to be a singer but has very bad stage fright, likes to watch Camilla practice with her band
The Clifford Children:
Preston Anthony: exact opposite of Michael, sucks at all video games and hates playing them, loves to eat healthy foods and do yoga, not a dog person, very neat, loves being at school and learning new things, best friends with Caden and Spencer Hemmings
Guinevere “Gwen” Evangeline: best friends with Carter Hood, loves all things spooky, has a pet tarantula named Tantor that Michael refuses to look at, is always begging Michael for a pet snake, wants to be a zoologist or a veterinarian, adores animals, always brings home random animals and tries to see how long until Michael notices and makes her put them back in their natural habitats

Choices to Make (Part 1)
Tumblr media
Summary: April Hudson, a biologist studying animals and neighbor of the Cullen's, notices something wrong one day on her wilderness cameras which leads to her life being changed forever. Curiosity killed the cat.
(No pairing) Please like and comment, but remember to give me credit for my story!
Fall 2008
It was another rainy day in Forks as I drove back to my house after work, my red Ford hatchback quietly sloshing down the wet roads with the windshield wipers set at a quick pace. My name is April Hudson, twenty-one-year-old garden business associate and wildlife watcher with a completed degree in biology and still living with my parents. Was, at least.
My parents had to move further south for their twin jobs leaving me alone upstate after graduation with their small house in the middle of freaking nowhere. I loved the rain of Washington until I had to leave and come back and get reacclimated to the weather.
I was fine with the arrangement where they would periodically check in on me but most of their time is dedicated to their work. The only real neighbors I have are the Cullen’s but they’re nearly five miles away from, now my, little cottage, so there is almost no way to really call them neighbors.
The most I’ve ever seen of them is passing by them in their cars and even that was too short. They were all introduced once when my family moved in but that was only once and since then I only see them when they need to stop in for flowers or ferns for their home.
As I pull up to the cottage, the light from the bathroom is still on from the morning. “Damnit,” I sigh heavily. ‘Always forgetting to turn that one off’ I berate myself silently in the confines of my warm car.
I grab my beat-up leather work bag in one hand and jog inside to avoid being more wet and cold than usual. ‘It’s the last thing I need.’
“Hello, my little Mitten,” I greet my sweet little tabby cat with a smile. I’m greeted back with a small ‘mew’ before chuckling to myself and feeling the soft fur under my fingertips. Stripping off my clothes and getting rid of my bra, I finally feel free and alone in the quiet house.
I don't feel like I'm the prettiest girl in the world with my large hips and thick thighs along with this dry skin in such a moist environment, but it’s my house to do what I please in it. I run my fingers through my shoulder-length hair as I let it out of its ponytail when a sound catches my attention.
‘Chirp! chirp! chirp! chirp!’ “What could that be my love?” I whisper lovingly partially to myself but mainly to Mittens as I walk to my computer where the noise is originating from.
I took up my parent's love of nature a while ago and hung up trail cameras to capture animals big or small traveling across the property, but there hasn’t been a ping in a while. Until now.
The computer’s white light fills the room as it wakes up whirring and as I click my way through the files, petting Mittens rhythmically, while the start of the video plays like usual with the wildlife until there’s something that’s not so normal. The big buck walks through the woods, like usual, and then there, right after the third second, the deer is gone. There and then gone just like that. A whole deer gone without a trace.
“What the hell?” I ask myself and I play it back nearly ten times before not being able to find anything wrong with the tape to indicate a glitch. “I guess I’ll look at the next one,” I say warily. My internal radar for weird stuff is slowly beginning to rise like a pressure gauge from the green zone to the yellow and the hairs stand up on the back of my neck as I start to feel not so alone.
The next camera I pull up is deeper in the woods near the middle of where the property is. A few seconds in there is a man beginning to dig a hole without any sort of digging equipment until there is a hole with the dimensions of a shallow grave, the deer is thrown in as though it weighs no more than a small sack of flour, and then the weirdest part occurs: The guy takes off his shirt, tosses it in with the deer, and then fills the grave back up again.
‘I know that shirt, I know that shirt’ I repeat before it clicks; ‘It’s the hair.’ The mop of blonde hair in the video is the same as the mop I drive by every so often; Jasper Cullen. It all comes together as I remember him coming in with Alice to get flowers wearing a light colored button up dress shirt.
“No fuckin’ way.” I rewind it and hit play again only to watch the same thing happen without fault. “Oh my god.” I don't know whether to watch the video again or to throw up my dinner from earlier. “Oh shit!” I cry out, startling Mittens off of my lap, and standing up abruptly enough to knock my chair back onto the ground. ‘I have to tell someone—wait, I can’t tell anyone’ I realize with a start. “The Cullen’s.” My blood turns to ice and my fingers become cold.
‘I have to get the shirt’ I tell myself and if I want to get back before dark then I’d better get out there and start digging now. I give a kiss to Mittens, feed her, and put on all of my gear like mud boots, insulated rain jacket and finally grab a shovel from the shed. I don’t bother putting my bra back on because I’ve already taken it off so it’s too much of a trouble to put back on and there’s no need since, hopefully, I’m the only person in these woods tonight.
Grabbing my headlamp in case, I start my walk out. It’s fairly short but the dig is difficult and plain annoying. The mud slips and sloshes around my boots as I try to dig the hole back out but after over an hour of straight digging, I finally get to it just around the four-foot mark. It doesn’t even look like he tried to hide the shirt separately as I tug it out of the narrow hole I’ve dug. I turn my headlamp on and turn around when something catches my eye.
There’s another area of raised soil about ten feet away and another ten feet in the opposite direction. ‘This is a dumping ground’ I realize and that feeling of terror turns my blood to ice once again. I fill the hole in as quickly as I can and immediately head home, not daring to look in the other mounds for fear of what I might find if I do.
I slam my door as I come in, not caring that I’m dripping wet as I tromp through my house. I sit on the bed and put the muddy and blood covered shirt on my coffee table and simply stare at it. ‘I have to tell them and then just forget about all of this’ I tell myself.
I find a drawstring bag to put the battered dress shirt in, slipping it under my bed, and try to sleep. Try being the key word. There is so much adrenaline running through my body that every time I close my eyes I see Jasper throwing that deer in, bloodied and dirt covered, before simply running off. ‘You can’t stay quiet.’
The next day is giving me a bad case of the nerves as I dresses in my nice black slacks and olive green blouse to meet the Cullen’s, well mainly either Carlisle or Esme seeing as all of their kids freak me out with how they stare, but I’m uninvited anyway, so there’s that problem. I decide to go at noon so that the rest of the family might not be there, especially Jasper.
With the CD with the copied video and the bag with the shirt in hand, I set out on the drive. As I get closer, more nerves collect in my chest making me breathe heavy and tremble at what they might say. I mean who knows, their son could be the beginnings of a serial killer and they could very well know about it and let me get killed too. The thought makes me slow down for a second before getting back up to normal speed.
My heart is beating out of my chest as I turn down their rock driveway and, after another thirty-second delay, I’m finally sitting there in front of their monumental house. “You can do this. It’s really easy, you’ve got this,” I whisper to myself as I grip the steering wheel tight enough to turn my knuckles white.
‘Stay calm and just be cool’ I think slowly as I try to slow my breathing. I walk up the clean steps and my hand trembles fiercely as I lightly knock on the frame of the door to avoid potentially damaging or even smudging the glass.
I see Esme walk toward the door, seeing as the whole house is nearly made of glass, and try to make my face look less like I’m going to throw up all over her.
“Hello April,” she greets and her voice sounds like music to my ears. I try not to get distracted by her looks but dear god she is beautiful. Literally, everything is perfect about her. “What brings you here?”
I find my heart rate rising even more at her being polite but if she knows why I’m here then she’s doing a damn good job at covering it up.
“I’m sorry to bother you today,” I start and she smiles warmly but it doesn’t help my nerves. “Well, um, I wanted t-t-to, uh, tell you something but I didn’t want to freak you out,” I stammer. ‘Get it together’ I yell mentally. “I have something to show you if you’ll let me, Mrs. Cullen,” I tell her politely back and hold up the CD.
“And what is in the bag?” she wonders with a pinched brow and tilted head. When it releases its tension there’s not even a crease in her skin, but I blink away the errant thought.
“That also goes with the video,” I tell her slowly. “If I may. . .?” I ask with a small gesture to enter their house and she lets me into the entryway. “Do you have a CD player or a computer I could play this on for you?” She nods her head and leads me into their house where we end up in a room with a computer and shelves and shelves of books.
With shaky hands, I start to take the CD out of the case and I think I should tell her a little before I spring on her that her son could be a serial killer or a poacher at best. “So I don’t know if you know this but my parents got me wilderness cameras while I was studying for my degree and that I have them in the trees around my property, um, and I got a ‘ping’ last night. Uh,” I pause as I try to get my tremors under control, “so I looked at it and I thought you should be the first to know what I found,” I end in a whisper so quiet I don’t know if she heard me. I glance at her to find her looking back at me with worried eyes.
I stand from the seat and offer it to her in case she needs to sit after watching something so unbelievable. I pull up the file and click the play button. The video of the disappearing deer and then Jasper digging the hole plays on a loop and I watch her expression change from surprise, to worry, back to a stony one that gives nothing away.
She knows exactly why I’m here. She brings her perfect hand to the mouse, clicks the stop button, and then looks at the bag I’m still holding in a death grip from my nerves. She goes to say something but I stop her before she can start with a slight hand motion and a look.
“And I don’t know if it was the best idea to do but I dug up the shirt because I want nothing to do with this and I don’t want it anywhere near my home,” I whisper and widen my eyes slightly to see if my point gets across, but I decide it’s better to say it anyway.
“I found two more mounds of dirt near this one, so I don’t care, and I won’t even ask what he is doing, or what you’re doing, but stop burying dead animals in my backyard,” I tell her severely.
She looks me in the eyes and then nods her head once. I let out a nervous breath. ‘Thank god.’ “I’m going to head home then. Here,” I hand her the bag with the shirt and then start to walk toward the door, resisting the urge to sprint. Everything inside of me is screaming for me to get the hell out of here.
She opens the front door for me and I leave without another word and don’t glance back as I walk to my car. The entire time I feel as though I’m holding my breath and once I’m finally in my car I let it out. I start the car and leave as fast as I can while trying to not seem like I’m running away.
The adrenaline is running rampant through me at this point and I’m shaking all over worse than a leaf in a storm. I let out one sob at the feeling as I finally reach my house. I hear a cacophony of meows and little cat screams surround me as I sit on the couch closest to the door and wrap a nearby blanket around me as tightly as I can. ‘What the fuck have I done?’ I ask myself softly.

Analyzing Social Climb (pt.1)
K, so after finally getting back home and having actual WIFI in here, i decided to watch social climb again in its entirety and express some of my thoughts and observations i guess? Anyways lets go
The video starts with a 10-Second long animation of the band´s logo, and directly moves over to the visuals of a fancy-looking house. Over it, there is a bit of text and a headline:
                           “the TELEFOUNDATION presents
                              THOUGHT REFORM
&THE CORPORATE GUIDE TO SOCIAL RECONDITIONING”
Now, let´s try and analyse this :D
What is Telefoundation?
On the internet, i wasnt able to find any mentions of the word, let alone a definition of the word, so i assumed it was the name of a fictional firm in the iDKHOW universe  But, i was able to find a similar word, “early television foundation” and also a link to something else here: http://www.cftf.org.uk/ if you want to take a look at that. The first one tho, it is a museum “dedicated to the preservation of the technology from the early days of television.“, as directly quoted from their website.
Furthermore, the website says: “Our website's mission is to preserve and make available to the public the history of early television, from the mechanical systems of the 1920s through the introduction of color televsion in the 1950s.“
Aha, so that museum just showcases different TVs from around 1945, how´s that connected to social climb and idkhow? I dont have an idea, but we know that the mv for social climb is a brainwashing propaganda video from 1977, broadcasted over television.
What is Thought Reform?
thought reform is another word for brainwashing used by Robert Jay Lifton, one of the first phsychologists to study both brainwashing and mindcontrol. Lifton was a US-american phsychatrist and author in the 60s. 1970 he was accepted as a teacher at washington school of psychatry. Later, he released his books called “Home from the War: Vietnam Veterans. Neither Victims nor Executioners (1973), and The Nazi Doctors: Medical Killing and the Psychology of Genocide” (1986), of which the publishing years bring us near to the time in which the iDKHOW story takes place.
returning back to ´thought reform´, Lifton offered 8 steps/methods of manipulating minds. I have copied them off http://changingminds.org/techniques/conversion/lifton_thought_reform.htm  for anybody interested:
#1 Milieu control
All communication with outside world is limited, either being strictly filtered or completely cut off. Whether it is a monastery or a behind-closed-doors cult, isolation from the ideas, examples and distractions of the outside world turns the individuals attention to the only remaining form of stimulation, which is the ideology that is being inculcated in them.
This even works at the intrapersonal level, and individuals are discouraged from thinking incorrect thoughts, which may be termed evil, selfish, immoral and so on.
#2 Mystical manipulation
A part of the teaching is that the group has a higher purpose than others outside the group. This may be altruistic, such as saving the world or helping people in need. It may also be selfish, for example that group members will be saved when others outside the group will perish.
All things are then attributed and linked to this higher purpose. Coincidences (which actually may be deliberately engineered) are portrayed as symbolic events. Attention is given to the problems of out-group people and attributed to their not being in the group. Revelations are attributed to spiritual causes.
This association of events is used as evidence that the group truly is special and exclusive.
#3 Confession
Individuals are encouraged to confess past 'sins' (as defined by the group). This creates a tension between the person's actions and their stated belief that the action is bad, particularly if the statement is made publicly. The consistency principle thus leads the person to fully adopt the belief that the sin is bad and to distance themselves from repeating it.
Discussion of inner fears and anxieties, as well as confessing sins is exposing vulnerabilities and requires the person to place trust in the group and hence bond with them. When we bond with others, they become our friends, and we will tend to adopt their beliefs more easily.
This effect may be exaggerated with intense sessions where deep thoughts and feelings are regularly surfaced. This also has the effect of exhausting people, making them more open to suggestion.
#4 Self-sanctification through purity
Individuals are encouraged to constantly push towards an ultimate and unattainable perfection. This may be rewarded with promotion within the group to higher levels, for example by giving them a new status name (acolyte, traveller, master, etc.) or by giving them new authority within the group.
The unattainability of the ultimate perfection is used to induce guilt and show the person to be sinful and hence sustain the requirement for confession and obedience to those higher than them in the groups order of perfection.
Not being perfect may be seen as deserving of punishment, which may be meted out by the higher members of the group or even by the person themselves, who are taught that such atonement and self-flagellation is a valuable method of reaching higher levels of perfection.
#5 Aura of sacred science
The beliefs and regulations of the group are framed as perfect, absolute and non-negotiable. The dogma of the group is presented as scientifically correct or otherwise unquestionable.
Rules and processes are therefore to be followed without question, and any transgression is a sin and hence requires atonement or other forms of punishment, as does consideration of any alternative viewpoints.
#6 Loaded language
New words and language are created to explain the new and profound meanings that have been discovered. Existing words are also hijacked and given new and different meaning.
This is particularly effective due to the way we think a lot though language. The consequence of this is that the person who controls the meaning of words also controls how people think. In this way, black-and-white thinking is embedded in the language, such that wrong-doers are framed as terrible and evil, whilst those who do right (as defined by the group) are perfect and marvellous.
The meaning of words are kept hidden both from the outside world, giving a sense of exclusivity. The meaning of special words may also be revealed in careful illuminatory rituals, where people who are being elevated within the order are given the power of understanding this new language.
#7 Doctrine over person
The importance of the group is elevated over the importance of the individual in all ways. Along with this comes the importance of the the group's ideas and rules over personal beliefs and values.
Past experiences, beliefs and values can all thus be cast as being invalid if they conflict with group rules. In fact this conflict can be used as a reason for confession of sins. Likewise, the beliefs, values and words of those outside the group are equally invalid.
#8 Dispensed existence
There is a very sharp line between the group and the outside world. Insiders are to be saved and elevated, whilst outsiders are doomed to failure and loss (which may be eternal).
Who is an outsider or insider is chosen by the group. Thus, any person within the group may be damned at any time. There are no rights of membership except, perhaps, for the leader.
People who leave the group are singled out as particularly evil, weak, lost or otherwise to be despised or pitied. Rather than being ignored or hidden, they are used as examples of how anyone who leaves will be looked down upon and publicly denigrated.
People thus have a constant fear of being cast out, and consequently work hard to be accepted and not be ejected from the group. Outsiders who try to persuade the person to leave are doubly feared.
Dispensation also goes into all aspects of living within the group. Any and all aspects of existence within the group is subject to scrutiny and control. There is no privacy and, ultimately, no free will.
Most of these methods are intigrated into the social climb music video, showing an elite, almost cult-like group of people most liekly cut off of the rest of the world, etc. i think #3 could also be a reference to the song “modern day cain” by iDKHOW, of which (for example) the pre-chorus is:
“So now you've done a little wrong And you need to be forgiven By the Vicar and the company you keep And then you conjure up a fiction To get the pretty girl to listen“
and also the main chorus that is:
“This is the sin That I will confess to release myself From consequence And everyone can tell“
in which method #3: Confession is mentioned directly. (Oh boi, i think we gettin to the point now, but after 2 hours just straight out researching and writing the first two explanations/theories i kinda dont know how to formulate the next section. i´ll take a short break.)
What is Social Reconditioning?
As i did my research on the internet, the term “social conditioning” seemed to have appeared way more often in results, and doesn´t seem to differ that heavily from social reconditioning, so let me explain it first. Social conditioning is  the definition of training someone to behave in a manner that is generally approved from society and/or peer groups in society. “Manifestations of social conditioning are vast, but they are generally categorized as social patterns and social structures including nationalism, education, employment, entertainment, popular culture, religion, spirituality and family life. The social structure in which an individual finds him or herself influences and can determine their social actions and responses. “ (Wikipedia)
So now that we´ve got that figured out, what would Social Reconditioning mean? I myself would explain it as having to adjust from one specific social pattern/structure to another. an example i provide is a soldier coming back home from the war and having to adjust into the general city-life from the strict life in an army. The “corporate guide to social reconditioning” is most likely to be a book in the iDKHOW universe abouthow to fit into a generally acepted form of society again. But what other social structure, or rather group of people is it, that one has to recover from?
This is what i think is worth mentioning in this wikipedia article:
“Propaganda.
Edward Bernays, Freud's nephew and the father of propaganda and public relations, used many of his uncle's theories in order to create new methods in marketing. In Propaganda, he published that "If we understand the mechanism and motives of the group mind, it is now possible to control and regiment the masses according to our will without them knowing it".[4] He used the herd theory in order to create public relations, thus conditioning the public to need particular goods from certain manufacturers. In the same publication he stated, "A single factory, potentially capable of supplying a whole continent with its particular product, cannot afford to wait until the public asks for its product; it must maintain constant touch, through advertising and propaganda, with the vast public in order to assure itself the continuous demand which alone will make its costly plant profitable."[4] His theories and applications in social conditioning continue throughout his work. “
In Summary/Conclusion
Social climb is a propaganda/brainwash video
It is from the late 70s (1977 to be exact)
The band iDKHOW is in it, joined by Whiteshadow (the white skull person with the mask), possibly meaning that Bamd has time-traveled into 1977
Social climb is very likely to be referencing Modern Day Cain, and probably MDCs music video
The propagande video might be advertising or warning the public about a cult-like group of elite people
Which are a Illuminati-like organization, if not Illuminati itself
speaking from scenes like the one at 1:19, where the Pattern on the table undoubtedly is a pyramid with an eye in the middle, having the letter i,d,k,h,b,t,f and m in each rectangle in the first row
if i get any more stuff facts about the actual video into this i might as well make a second part out of this

Video
youtube
I have finally completed the animation I started 9 months ago. It’s about my friend being stranded in the woods. It’s almost based on a true story and the audio comes from actual videos of his ordeal.
Notice I said “started 9 months ago ” and not “worked on for 9 months.” There were long periods of inactivity. But I did know the whole time that I would finish it eventually. Unlike many projects of mine! I am very excited to premier this to my friends (and some family!) tonight and feeling very fulfilled.
It started with my friend Milly (Mills) posting several short videos he recorded while waiting for a towtruck to pick him up when he got his motorcycle stuck in the mud.
Tumblr media
Something about the videos and his monologue made me want to create an animation based on them. So I cut and stitched various parts together in Renoise, and came up with the whole audio track.
Tumblr media
The principle of my workflow is to get the entire audio track, including music, finalized before ever picking up my pen. Timing and pacing scenes by audio only is a good way to get it right, I think. If I can make something that flows just by listening to it, it’s a good bet the final animation will flow too.
With the audio track exported, my first step was storyboarding. A quick sketch for every scene or cut, sometimes with arrows or rudimentary animation to illustrate the intent. It’s during this storyboarding that most of the ideas were established. I really enjoy how I have to be creative to come up with visuals to match an audio track that was created without much regard for what it would all look like.
Here’s a rendering of the animation with the storyboards overlaid on top:
youtube
Holy heck are there a lot of cuts in this animation. It feels like a shot is rarely held for more than 5 seconds. I could go and count exactly how many shots there are but I’m lazy.
Tumblr media
So I had the storyboard and audio track for an animation that weighed in at about 4.5 minutes, spanning almost 4000 frames. My New Years animation was longer, but that was barely animated. This was definitely going to be up there in terms of work required.
Tumblr media
My next step was drawing in very angular outlines for the backgrounds. The triangular/polygonal style in the final product didn’t come until much later. I really didn’t know what I wanted the backgrounds to look like, and this loomed over me for almost the entire time I spent doing everything else.
I was itching to get down to the raw animation work, so I began taking on scene after scene of character animation.
youtube
The flat-color-with-no-outlines style was a choice I made quickly when I considered how much extra work it would be to give it my usual treatment. It was also refreshing to try something new.
Tumblr media
The animation is 15 frames per second, but many parts were done at 1/2 or 1/3 rate (twos and threes, in animation lingo). Sometimes the decision came down to how "in the mood” I was to animate at the time.
Tumblr media
Guides are important. A lot of scenes were free-handed though. When you draw a character enough times you get pretty good at it.
Tumblr media
When I crack open a Rockstar, you know it’s time for some serious animating.
With most of the character art done, I moved on to the motorcycle. Oh, that friggin’ bike. A Benelli TnT135. Even after studying literally dozens of photos and videos of it, it’s still a tricky 3D shape to grasp at some angles, particularly the tail end of the seat.
Tumblr media
And then I had to animate it in that penultimate shot of our hero driving away. I shamelessly took as many shortcuts as I could to avoid as much redrawing as possible. The end result is okay. I hope the significance of what the bike is doing means the viewer isn’t focused on how realistic it looks.
Tumblr media
At last I had to face the backgrounds. My first attempts failed miserably.
Tumblr media
So, Adobe Animate does not really have great tools for coloring (by hand, anyway). Trying and failing to come up with a workable style was discouraging. Forests have a lot of variety in texture, all around. There’s all kinds of colors and shapes. How could I convey all that?
Go abstract.
Tumblr media
No, Adobe Animate does not have some cool 3D mesh feature or fractal generator. These triangles were drawn line by line, fill by fill. That includes the animated water.
I managed to re-use some backgrounds in many of the simpler shots, but some locations, like the bike and road, had angles too varied to copy and paste.
I had determination, though, because working on these backgrounds was part of the final stretch of getting this thing done. I could see the finish line.
When the backgrounds were done, I made pretty quick work of drawing and animating the various props. Basically anything that wasn’t the character or bike, like the log, the can, the foil cup, and so on.
The last few days were spent creating the title and credits, as well as polishing stuff like the color correction used to illustrate times of day. Yesterday I sent a preview of the whole video to my good friend Viper, whose critical yet supportive feedback I value the most. I must say, his generally positive response helped me sleep that night. The night before, I was tossing and turning, stuck in a mind loop of drawing triangles in my imagination. That is not a joke.
Thanks for reading! After keeping this mostly-secret for so long, it’s nice to get it all out there.

6 September, 2019
I’ve started to get used to Japan, although I’ve still got a long way to go before I can speak and understand Japanese.
On the 28th of August, I went downstairs and had breakfast. My host parents think I love cereal more than anything in the world, so they feed it to me for breakfast most mornings alongside an already huge breakfast. This was my first day of eating it, however. They had had me select the cereal I wanted at the store. All the options were sweet and sugary cereals, which I don’t really like. however, there was one that was not: bran flakes! My family and the US and I eat bran flakes with our cereal whenever we have it, and they are not sweet at all. So I pointed them out, and my host father took four bags off the shelf. When I had them, however, they were probably the sweetest thing I had all day. They were completely coated in sugar- and there was a whole bowl of them. I struggled to eat the bowl, then ate the rest of my huge breakfast.
In the early afternoon, my host father and I went to my school, Matto High School. They sized me for my school uniform (consisting of a button-down white shirt with an M on it and way-too-loose gray striped pants with vibrant blue and red rubber slippers). It was a little uncomfortable, as the teachers just pushed me into a side room with the door open to change. After the sizing was finished, I met some of my teachers. My class teacher (in Japan students stay in the same classroom for most of the day. A class teacher is something like a homeroom teacher), who is also an English teacher and a fairly good English speaker, is Mrs. Kameda. There is another English teacher who is from the US on the JET program, Miss Pike. She is from New Jersey. All of them seemed nice. I also learned that there are two students from the Philippines in my class that are okay English speakers.
After the meeting at the high school finished, my host father and I went and ate ramen at a nearby small restaurant. Up until that point we had not had lunch, so I was very hungry, but the ramen was very good. For dinner, we had some sort of gigantic pork pancake with a side of squid. Being vegetarian up until I came to Japan, I was a bit queasy about eating meat (it also wasn’t the tastiest meal in the world in my opinion).
On the 29th, I read in the morning for a while. I can’t seem to get up as late as I would like, so I have to go to bed early to get enough sleep. For breakfast, I had a sunny-side-up egg and salad, as well as a thick slab of bread with a hefty rectangle of luminescent, half-melted, yellow cheese. It poured all morning. At 11, my host father and I went to the city hall of Hakusan. I met the mayor. I was impressed. I would have thought that the mayor of  city with a population of over 100,000 would have too busy a schedule to meet with a single exchange student. The city hall is a big skyscraper, and we were on the fourth floor in a room for receiving guests. Because of its purpose, the room had a lot of beautiful art from the city.
I had to make a short speech in Japanese, but I had an interpreter who could help me understand and answer questions. I was given a bag of Hakusan-themed gifts and interviewed by several reporters. Just for meeting with the mayor for 20 minutes and being an exchange student, I got in the newspaper and on TV! After the meeting, we spent 3 hours filling out residency paperwork for my time in Japan. Not my idea of a fun afternoon, but it allows me to stay in Japan for more than 90 days.
There was a Rotary meeting of the club that is hosting me that evening, so I attended and had to make another short speech in Japanese. We exchanged Rotary flags (I gave them Perry’s, they gave me theirs so that I can bring it back to Perry), then ate dinner. It was a fancy hotel, so the food was fancy too. It was interesting to hear the Rotary song in Japanese.
On the 30th I had super-sugar-saturated cereal again. My host father got out a board game and just started playing it with me without explaining it all. Somehow I won, despite not knowing the rules until about halfway through (the game was called オセロ in Japanese, which, transliterated, is Osero. I think it is Othello in English). I went for a walk, and when I got back, I cleaned my bedroom and finished unpacking. It took a while, but it was very satisfying. My host mother made sushi for lunch. It was delicious! My favorite was inarizushi (rice wrapped in tofu). I read in the afternoon, then we had dinner (fish, rice, meat, somen, and miso). I went on a walk after dinner, but the sun set as I was walking and I got lost on my way back. I asked a friendly person for directions and she showed me the way (she actually walked me all the way back home, in the opposite direction she had been going).
On the 31st, I had been in Japan for one week! I studied Japanese for a while, then had breakfast. I went for a walk, then we ate lunch. My host father and I went for a bike ride. Both the walk and the ride were to my high school, so I could practice the route. After the bike ride, one of my host aunts picked me up and took me to her house for a taiko (Japanese drum) lesson. It was interesting and fun, however, I was not very good at it, so I was not too happy when I found out my host dad had recorded the whole thing on video and was repeatedly playing it to anyone who he knew.
When we returned home, my seven-year-old host niece Yuria and my four-year-old host nephew Shudai were there. We went to a sushi restaurant. It was pretty interesting. There was a counter surrounding the chefs with a conveyor belt that had plates of sushi on it. The chefs made sushi and put it on the conveyor belt, and customers took off any sushi they wanted. The price was assessed by the number of plates each customer had amassed and what color they were (different colors indicated different prices). If you weren’t seated at the counter, you were in a group. That’s where we were. There was a screen that you could touch to pick what you wanted, then a wheeled tray would come speeding up to you shortly on a special track. Whenever it came, Shuudai would shout “Shinkansen, shinkansen!” (bullet train, bullet train). You could take your food, then press the screen to dismiss the tray. We ate sushi and overall, it was delicious, although there were a few things I ate that I wish I hadn’t. We had ice cream for dessert, and both Yuria and Shuudai dropped theirs on the ground. After that, we went home.
On September first, I got up and started to get ready for my Rotary Youth Exchange orientation later that day. At 11, three Rotarians showed up to drive me to Toyama City. The drive took about an hour, and it was very scenic. Lots of mountains! There were a lot of trams on tracks in the center of the road. According to one of the Rotarians, Toyama City, along with Hiroshima, is one of the few cities in Japan with trams like that. They were very interesting, and while some looked new, others looked like beautiful antiques, maybe from 60 to 70 years ago. We arrived at the hotel where the meeting was, and all of the English speaking inbound students were there. There were 12 (I think), so it was much bigger than district 7120, where I come from, in terms of youth exchange. In 7120, there were only 13 outbound students total, whereas here the total of inbound English speakers only almost reached that. There were some students from Canada and the US and one from Australia. I was the youngest. The orientation was long and boring, but all of the students were able to exchange pins with each other, a Rotary Youth Exchange custom, as well as business cards. We returned home, and only my host mother was there, as my host father was at a meeting in Fukui Prefecture. We went out for dinner at a small restaurant. We constituted half of the customers, but the people at the restaurant seemed to know her. After spending quite a while there, we returned home and went to bed.
The second was my first day of school. I put on my school uniform. I had breakfast and left. School starts at 8:35, but I was to be there at 8 on the first day. My host dad gave me a ride there, and I gave a speech to the teachers. Mrs. Kameda led me to my classroom and I made the same speech again to my classmates. We all moved to the gym for an assembly, and I made the speech for the third time, this time to the whole school. Afterwards, all the students took tests. This was the beginning of their second semester after a one month break for the summer (school starts in April here). I was given a tour of the school. It has two courtyards, and is essentially shaped like a hollow rectangle with a hallway through the middle. It has four floors, and my classroom is on the third. Lots of stair climbing! Everybody I met wanted to say hi to me, so that was pleasant. There were no classes on the first day, so I just took the English test and studied Japanese, then went home. The walk takes about half an hour. I snacked and ate dinner, then both host parents went to an oil painting class, so I went to bed.
On the third, I got ready for school and left. There are six periods in a school day, plus lunch, cleaning and homeroom. I’m taking English Communication, English, Math, Music, Modern Japanese, Classical Japanese, P.E., Calligraphy, Art, History, Science, Taiko, Office Skills, and Health. Both the math and the science are what I took two years ago in the U.S. I thought I had finished the day, when lo and behold, I learned that I had to stay seventh period, along with every other student, to study on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so I leave at 4:30 instead of 3:30. I had been getting along well with a little help from Google Translate, but at school everyone spoke quickly and used characters I don’t understand, so it was very difficult. My hardest classes have been Classical and Modern Japanese. In Modern Japanese on Wednesday, there was a vocabulary opener, where I had to copy definitions from a dictionary onto a paper. However, while I know two of the Japanese alphabets, the third has thousands of characters which I don’t know that I just had to copy from what I saw, which took a really long time and hurt my eyes. Wednesday was my hardest day of the week. In the U.S., I never really liked Wednesdays, and I had hoped it would get better here, but it did just the opposite.
Yesterday, I went to school. It was my easiest day yet, although that may just be because of the relief of stress from not having to stay at school until 4:30. My host mother had slept in, however, so I didn’t get any packed lunch. Instead, I had to buy something from the school store. By the time I got there, I was at the end of the line and the only thing edible left was half of a stale Nutella sandwich. Not my favorite meal in Japan so far. One thing that’s nice about this school is that the classrooms all have air conditioning because it gets so hot and humid in the summer. However, I’ve been told that there’s no insulation in the winter and they keep it cool, so I’m a little worried. I’ve pretty much memorized my route to school now, so I don’t need my map any more. I walk on a dirt road through rice fields along the way, as well as past two Shinto shrines and across a railroad. It’s a pretty walk. I went to the post office, doubling the time of my walk, but I got to walk by the ruins of a castle. I had no idea that there had ever been a castle in Hakusan. Immediately, I was offered a matcha-flavored ice cream pop by my host dad. It wasn’t bad at all. My host family seems to like eating ice cream at all hours after 10 AM. There was another Rotary meeting and this time the president of my host district, 2610, was the guest speaker. The meeting ended, and one of the Rotarians gave me a ride home. Although my host dad was at the meeting, he had to go to another meeting immediately afterwards. I took my first Japanese bath. It was pretty hot, but still nicer than I thought it would be. I waited this long because try as I might, I couldn’t figure out how to get the water to turn on until I remembered to ask my host mother.
Today, I went to school after breakfast. It was an average day, neither too hard nor too easy, but it was nice because the exhausting first week of school was over. I’ve been here for two weeks now! I’m starting to fall into a rhythm and am enjoying my time here.

First Encaunter <3 - a Donghyuk scenario:
word count:1.8k
Ps: Sond - Suran - 1+1=0
Ps²: If there’s any grammar mistake, I apologize!
Just two years ago I was this eighteen years old girl who was a month away from finishing high school and did not know what to do with her life. I wanted to do everything but at the same time did nothing, until my dad came home with a camera and changed my life forever.
I decided to set the camera up and talk about the make up tricks I used, obviously it was for fun so it was poorly edited. Youtube was starting to get really popular in Korea and me being the chatterbox I am thought it would be nice to just talk about random stuff and in my head only my family and friends would care enough to take a look, but boy was I wrong.
The videos suddently began to gain views and people started subscribing and asking for more and so I did. Looking back at it I am just really proud of putting myself out there because I think that now I would probably be majoring in Law school which was something I did not feel like suited me in any way, but both my parents are lawyers so finding a job wouldn’t be hard.
Now it has been one year since I got accepted into Korea University for visual arts and I love it, it helps me with my videos and gives me enough knowledge to act in several entertainment areas if I want to.
With the success of my channel a lot of brands would send me theirs products and invite me to events and meetings; and at this very moment I have an important meeting with this popular make up brand and I’m already running late.
I left my building in a hurry and decided to stop to get coffee to try and at least make up for my mistake, because unless a miracle happened there was no way I’d get there in time. I entered the caffé close by and felt relieved as no one was in line.
“Iced americanos three, Latte two and Iced tead one” I said a bit out of breath.
As I waited for my order a guy came in wearing a pink hoodie and for some reason his face seemed familiar, but right now I don’t have the time to try and guess from where I know him.
The girl was really taking her time making those drinks and my foot was uncontrolably stamping the floor.
“Here you go, that will be 26.700 KRW” she said nicely.
I gave her thirty and turned in order to leave, but as soon as I did it the guy turned to pay causing us to bump into each other, luckily only our phones fell and we both went down to get it quickly.
“I’m really sorry” I bowed repeatedly as I made my way out.
I caught a cab and just went to the building where the meeting was taking place. The ride took 10 minutes or so and the driver made sure to rip me off, that’s why I don’t take cabs anymore, I paid him and entered the building.
Finally I arrived at the 10th floor and they were all waiting for me.
“I’m really sorry to keep you all waiting, I forgot the meeting was this early” I bowed and honestly felt so embaressed, it made me look unprofessional and I hated it because I always give my best at every single thing I put myself into.
They were very understanding and the coffee may have helped me a bit. As soon as I sat down my phone started ringing and I quickly turned it off to avoid causing more inconvenience to those who were there trying to do their jobs.
...
The meeting lasted for two hours and after the bumpy start things flowed smoothly. I left the room and turned on my phone, I tried to unlock it but it said my digital wasn’t working so I typed in my password which was also wrong, then, I realize that the background was not the one I use.
“Ah please, don’t tell me this is that guy’s phone” I wimped.
I ran to the front desk and asked the receptionist to use their phone, which she kindly did.
“H-hello” I said quite nervous.
“Yes, wah thank god” The manly voice said. It was weird dialing my own number let alone have someone else pick up.
“Perhaps, are you the guy from the caffé?” I asked politely
“That’s right! Our phones got mixed up when we bumped into each other” He explained even though I already suspected it.
“Ah you’re right” I said.
“I called so many times but you didn’t answer I was bit desperate sorry” He laughed a bit and I believe it was out of relief.
“Sorry about that, I was in a meeting and after seeing the random number I turned it off thinking it was a mistake” I explained.
“So could you please tell me where you are? I can go to you right away to exchange it” he said and I was impressed at how kind he was, if it was somebody else they would be so angry at me, but after all, I didn’t mean to do so.
“S-sure, I’m near yeouido in an office building but I can go to a caffè nearby” I explained.
“Okay, I will call from the random number I did earlier when I get over there, so don’t be afraid to pick up” He kindly said.
I thanked the lady for letting me use the phone and took the elevator. That area was filled with caffès and I definitely should’ve been more specific.
As I passed the stores I thought that maybe I should get him something as an apology.
“Wah you’re going to get poor this way” I said to myself.
I decided I would wait for him at the ‘Audrey Hepbrun caffe’, on my way there I saw this phone accessory store and I had the brilliant idea of getting him a phone case so he would not mix up his phone.
“welcome!” this girl said as I came in the store.
I was looking at the cases when this pink one caught my eyes, it was the same color as his hoodie from earlier, of course it was silly, but it was just a simbolic gift anyway. I picked it out and quickly paid since I had to get to the caffé soon.
I sat near the window and ordered a coffee, I mean I was already there and this day is just a complete mess, only coffee could boast me up for the rest of my schedule. I was calmly sipping my coffee when my phone rang, well, his phone rang.
“Yes?” I picked up.
“Hello, I am at Yeouido, which caffe are you at?” He asked politely.
“The Audrey Hepburn caffe” I explained.
“Ah okay, I will be right there” The way he said make me feel like I was waiting for my blind date and I felt silly for actually thinking that.
The door opened and I noticed the pink hoodie instantly. I raised my hand in order to make him notice me. I noticed he brought a guy with him and found it weird, maybe he thinks I am creep, that made me feel like an idiot for getting a gift, but I am most likely just overthinking it.
“Ah hello, I’m Kim Donghyuk” He bowed after introducing himself.
“Ah, Choi Hye Jin” I stood up and bowed.
He and the guy along with him sat in the chairs in front of me and I handed over his phone and he handed me mine.
“Wah, I was really scared when I couldn’t access it, I thought I would’ve to buy a new one” He said smiling.
“Yes, I didn’t notice because we both have black cases” I said and looked over to the little white bag by my side, maybe I should just keep it.
“Should I buy you another coffee? After all, it was my mistake as well” He suggested after noticing my empty cup
“Ah no, don’t worry” I denied and looked at the bag again.
“I insist” He said and got up to order.
A few minutes later he came back and I gattered the courage to ‘return the favor’.
“Here it is, hot americano, not many people order hot coffee” he laughed.
“Yes...Well, since you bought me coffee I also have something for you” I said while timidly picking up the white bag.
“Oh you shouldn’t have, it wasn’t your fault, seriously” He tried to deny it.
“I insist” I repeated what he said before “Got you” I smilled.
I handed him over the bag and he reached in to get the case.
“Wah, thank you so much, it even matches my hoddiet” He said and bowed in gratitude.
“Ah yes” I didn’t want to say that’s why I got it, but he would probably notice afterwards.
After giving him the gift we all got ready to say goodbye and leave.
“Well, I’ll get going now. Sorry for the trouble” I bowed as we left the caffe.
“Ah no, it’s okay, really” He did the same.
We both waved goodbye and parted ways. I decided to go home because I had a video to edit and some homework to turn in. As I made my way home I had to cross this busy street, the pedestrian signal was red and I looked up to see the music video for that popular song lately, I guess the group is iKon, I saw them on tv last week.
Once I lifted my eyes I felt all the heat in my body go straight to my face because the guy in the music video was the guy I just met like ten minutes ago AND gave him a pink phone case as if I was a casual friend.
...
The rest of the way was horrible, I kept thinking how dumb I was because I knew who he was, I even recognized him when I first saw him, he also said his name.
I opened my apartment door still in awe at my stupidity, it felt like I had left my soul standing in that sidewalk. He was so kind and nice towards me.
“Wah, you’re really something, seriously” I said as I looked at myself in the mirror.
I changed into my comfortable clothes in order to study and do some editing but I ended up searching his name. It really was him, I feel like I will be part of those funny stories idols tell in variety shows.
After hours of loud music and trying really hard to concentrate I finally finished all my work and could just say goodbye to this cruel reality, yes, I was being dramatic but who cares, I pay my bills so I can overeact this little things.
A/N: So, first of all, I hope you enjoy this “scenario” and yes, there will be a continuation since it’s kind of a series/fic idk what to call it yet…
ALSO, very important, I try to be realistic when writing something, so, given that the characters are korean I wanted to showcase some sort of realness with the “wah” and other ‘slangs’ if you may. I am in no way trying to copy them, just give a more “real life” feel to it!!!

Club penguin was a “free” multiplayer online game where people, 6 years old and up, could enter a virtual world. There you could play as a cartoon penguin, taking part in missions and games to earn coins and buy super cool merchandise, ranging from clothes to furniture, in order to complete your feng shui goals in your very own igloo!
However to be considered the hippest penguin on the slopes, you had to have a paid membership. With this membership came unlimited perks such as: being able to take part in every penguin activity on the server and even buying up to 75 Puffles— small furry pets that had no limbs and only ate Puffle-Os (whatever that is).
When you were not joining in on events and missions you could waddle around and make friends! Club penguin offered many places where penguins could chat and chill (haha get it). Were you tired from sliding down the ski slopes and in need of something scrumptious to eat? Say no more! You could head to the pizza parlor where you could relax, eat pizza, and connect with your penguin pals! Besides the parlor, there were many other places you could use the ultimate safe chat or the regular safe chat to talk to other players (let’s be honest though the ultimate safe chat was only created for 5 year olds who didn’t know how to type in the first place).
That’s how Min Yoongi (aka sugasweet66) met Jung Hoseok (aka jdope23) on one cool Monday afternoon at the pizza parlor.
Min Yoongi was a music major with a bad case of sleeping for 12+ hours a day. He had started playing club penguin at the ripe age of 17, during his senior year of high school. At first it was just a joke between his friends but it soon become much more than that.
“Hyung have you heard of this new online game that was just released a few years ago?” Namjoon asked as him, Yoongi, and Jin sat at the computer section of the library. Yoongi didn’t care enough to answer him so instead he just turned his gaze from the music video he was watching (promiscuous by nelly furtado ft timbaland) to Namjoon’s computer screen.
On it was the intro screen to a game he vaguely made out to be called club penfin or something to that extent. Yoongi’s English was not perfect.
“What is that?” Jin sat back in his chair in slight disgust, was he really spending his only study period watching Namjoon play some game where his avatar was a fat ugly penguin? I mean who chooses yellow for a skin color?
“It’s called club penguin, it’s an online multiplayer game where you’re a penguin and do missions and shit. Look I just put a table in my igloo!” Namjoon pointed excitedly at his screen, where there in his white barren igloo sat a brown wooden coffee table.
Jin scoffed as he continued to watch Namjoon mess around with his igloo. After a couple seconds of seeing Namjoon have a mini heart attack because he thought he had accidentally bought the membership, Yoongi looked back at his screen curious. The game, although probably a complete joke, looked mildly entertaining.
Therefore that same day Yoongi went home and loaded up his computer, typing www.clubpenguin.com into the url tab.
Ever since then Yoongi would come home from school and religiously play club penguin. He became very invested in the game, even going so far as to buying the membership. Over the years, Yoongi cultivated an image of being one of the coolest penguins on the server. Or should I say, sugasweet66 became known as the it penguin.
Everyone admired and wanted to be sugasweet66. Of course most people playing were 10 year olds but that didn’t stop Yoongi, a 24 year old college student, from adoring the praise and compliments given to his penguin on a daily basis.
On the other hand, Jung Hoseok was far from popular in the virtual world of club penguin. Similar to Yoongi, Hoseok was a dance major who had stumbled upon the online game one day while sitting in a gaming café with his three best friends: Jungkook, Jimin, and Taehyung.
JustinSeagull97 has created a group chat
JustinSeagull97: hey hyungs clck the lnk I’m abt 2 snd
Mochiboy: are you having a seizure? What’s wrong with your typing?
Taetae95: ^^^^
JustinSeagull97: it’s quickr ths way
JustinSeagull97 shared a link with the group chat
Jdope23: what’s the link?
Mochiboy: is that the link to that game you’re playing right now?
Taetae95: oh is that club penguin?!
Jdope23: club what?
JustinSeagull97: it’s an adventre gme where u ply as a pnguin n it’s rlly fun pls ply w me

JustinSeagull97: lol he wnt do it
Mochiboy has kicked JustinSeagull97 from the chat
Taetae95: now can we play some CP?
Jdope23: sure ig
Mochiboy: ^^^^
From that day on Hoseok and his friends met at the gaming café almost everyday to play club penguin together. Although only Jungkook bought the membership, the four still had immense fun playing the online game. That’s why Hoseok continued to play even after he entered college.
Of course Hoseok would still meet occasionally with his bffs to play, he was usually only ever able to play the game in the dorms because being a dance major meant dedicating many hours to practicing.
It was right before Hoseok left for college when he met Yoongi on Club Penguin.
Hoseok had just finished packing for college when he decided to play a bit of his favorite game. He sat down at his computer desk with a content sigh; his back was beginning to kill him and he felt sympathy for whoever his soulmate was.
Living in a world where your soulmate feels whatever you feel was particularly hard for Hoseok. Of course being a dancer meant that one was prone to getting injuries and aches, but Hoseok felt immense guilt every time he twisted an ankle or missed a step while dancing and bruised his knees. Hoseok didn’t want to inflict pain onto his soulmate, whether it be purposely or not. That’s why he dedicated himself to perfecting every dance move in order to ensure that his soulmate would not be receiving pain from his doing.
Smiling to himself at the thought, Hoseok entered his username and password and was soon logged on to the club penguin server. He debated calling his best friends and telling them to get on as well; on one hand he’d have people to play with but on the other, Taehyung would most likely make Hoseok spend all his coins on stupid shit.
Deciding against it, Hoseok clicked on the map icon on his screen and soon his green colored penguin was standing in the pizza parlor. There were only a handful of penguins there but Hoseok didn’t mind at all.
A small smile spread across his lips as he began to type on his light up keyboard he had spent all summer saving up for.
Jdope23: hello everyone!
Hoseok clicked on a button and watched as his penguin did a circular motion with its hips and arms. He laughed as a few penguins around him copied his ministrations and greeted him.
He then made his penguin sit down at one of the table in the pizzeria, striking up a conversation with a pink penguin with a super cool fedora on.
UssySleigher: hello fellow penguin have you heard the news? It’s karaoke night tonight!
Jdope23: seriously?? How does that work...
UssySleigher: you just stand on the stage and sing... have you never done karaoke before?
Jdope23: I know that it’s just.. never mind. When’s it starting?
UssySleigher: right now.
Hoseok raised a brow as he leaned in to watch as a black penguin with brown spiked hair, wearing a teal shirt with dark stripes, waddled up to the stage. He nearly choked when he read the penguin’s username: sugasweet66.
“What does that even mean?” Hoseok thought as the mysterious penguin took the stage.
Sugasweet66: hello everyone it’s d boy here to use my tongue technology to spit some sick beats
Hoseok watched as no penguin except the one with the fedora replied to sugasweet66’s words.
UssySleigher: let’s get it!
Hoseok shook his head and watched as the black penguin on stage began to breakdance. He couldn’t help but laugh as the penguin began his “performance”.
Sugasweet66: I love it when you call me big poppa
Sugasweet66: Throw your hands in the air, if you'se a true player
Sugasweet66: To the honies gettin' money playin' dudes like dummies
Sugasweet66’s performance went on for another 3 minutes as he rapped the entire big poppa song. At the end of it, Hoseok was in tears and didn’t hesitate to make his penguin clap. He even laughed so hard that he fell off his chair a bit and bumped his knee on the desk.
“Ow god damn.” Hoseok hissed, rubbing his knee. He glanced back at the screen to see other penguins clapping and even dancing in response to sugasweet66’s performance.
Sugasweet66: DAEGUUUUUUUU
And with that last line the black penguin waved and made its way off the stage. Hoseok immediately grabbed his mouse and clicked next to sugasweet66, watching as his penguin waddled towards them. For some odd reason, Hoseok wanted to be friends with this intriguing penguin. Not only was their rap game strong but he was genuinely curious about them. He typed furiously on his keyboard as sugasweet66 made their way over to the counter of the pizza parlor.
Jdope23: That was an awesome performance!
At first the penguin he was now next to didn’t answer but after a couple seconds of waiting, Hoseok got a reply.
Sugasweet66: you want an autograph or smth?
Hoseok snorted. He couldn’t believe that was what sugasweet66 took a full minute to come up with.
Jdope23: sure
Sugasweet66: i don’t have a pen... or fingers
Jdope23: maybe next time then
Hoseok found himself smiling at his screen for the second time today, his hand went to his mouse and in a few seconds Hoseok had added the strange penguin. Now all he had to do was wait for sugasweet66 to accept his request.
Sugasweet66: why did you send me a friend request
Jdope23: I want to break into your igloo
Sugasweet66: ok
Hoseok’s computer made a ding sound notifying him that someone had accepted his friend request and he knew exactly who that was.
Sugasweet66.
And that’s how their friendship started. After that fateful night, sugasweet66 and Jdope23 began meeting up almost everyday on the server. They’d usually hang out at Yoongi’s igloo because he was a member, meaning his igloo was a lot more decorous than Hoseok’s.
The two would go on missions and do almost everything together. Basically they were conjoined at the pixelated penguin hip. They learned a lot about each other over the course of the two years they had played together, for example: what their favorite colors were and how many nipples they had. Although somehow they had never thought to share their real names with each other, possibly because that sort of topic was not usually discussed during their super cool hangouts at, as Yoongi called it, the genius lab.
Even after Yoongi’s penguin started gaining traction did they still hang out as if they were both just two lame dudes playing club penguin (because I mean, they were). Yoongi would still meet up with Hoseok everyday in the game and Hoseok would continuously beg Yoongi to buy him stuff with his membership perks. It was a pleasant cycle that occurred daily until one fateful afternoon, it halted.
It was a particularly warm spring morning when Yoongi was sitting in the back rows of the lecture hall, listening to his music theory teacher drone on about god knows what. It was his last day of classes before spring break and to say he was relieved was an understatement.
Yoongi was feeling exhausted with his workload lately. Balancing a job at the café, his schoolwork, and his fame on club penguin was strenuous and took a toll on him. He was more than ready to just sleep off the stress he had been feeling for the entirety of the break.
Propping his elbow on his desk and placing his head in his hand, Yoongi kept his gaze trained on the board where his teacher was currently writing notes. He was absentmindedly jotting them down when he became uncomfortably warm. He moved to take off his leather jacket quietly and after a few seconds he had succeeded, placing the article of clothing on the empty seat next to him.
However he still couldn’t seem to cool down. If anything, taking off his jacket only made him hotter (and not in the way that he would’ve liked).
Yoongi began to shift in his seat, sitting up straight for a second to find that his black shirt was now stuck to his back due to his body’s perspiration.
“What the hell is happening?” Yoongi began to panic, “Is this what menopause feels like?”
He began to look around the room, making sure none of his classmates were witnessing his potential loss of his menstrual cycle.
“Wait... don’t only women menstruate?” Yoongi soon became confused but luckily, the lecture hall was mostly empty today and those who were here were not paying any attention to his breakdown.
“Okay okay so if I’m not entering menopause then what is going on?” Yoongi, no longer paying attention to today’s lesson, was now using his kumumon folder to fan himself. The heat didn’t seem to subside as a strong wave of pain hit his abdomen. Holding back a groan, he grabbed his stomach in agony and began to rub it, hoping the notion would somehow soothe the now aching organ.
“This must be what giving birth feels like.” Yoongi thought, pulling out his iPhone 4s to webMD his symptoms and see if he was about to meet the face of the grim reaper. However before he could even put his folder down and reach into the pocket of his black skinny jeans, another wave of pain washed over him, stronger than the last.
Unlike last time, Yoongi was unable to hold back his groans. It was like someone had just stabbed his abdomen with a knife and proceeded to shove a dildo in the wound to stop the bleeding. He closed his eyes momentarily and began to try and control his uneven breathing.
A few students began to send confused looks Yoongi’s way however the teacher didn’t seem to notice or if he did, he really didn’t seem to care enough to say anything.
Yoongi continued to keep his eyes closed, his breathing returning to a somewhat normal pace. His stomach was still in pain though and his sweating didn’t seem to ease up. Yoongi glanced at the clock to see how much time was left until class would end and he could sprint to the bathroom, not sure what was going on with his body but knowing the bathroom seemed like the right place to be right about now. The pain began to crescendo and he squeezed his eyes shut when it became unbearable; he abruptly stood up when he felt an all too familiar feeling hit him. He couldn’t wait to run to the bathroom, he had to go now.
Ignoring the stares he was getting from both his teacher and his classmates, he began to climb down the stairs, cursing at himself that he picked today of all days to sit all the way in the back. He was simultaneously rubbing his stomach with one hand as the other held his belongings. The teacher was saying something to him but at this point all sound became muffled to him. All Yoongi was worried about was making it to the restroom in time before-
Oh no.
It was too late.
Just as he had reached the last step his butt cheeks unclenched and a whoosh of unrestrained air, that crackled and snapped like unbounded thunder, echoed throughout the hall. At first, Yoongi was relieved because he began to feel better immensely. Maybe all he needed was to break a little wind. However, it seemed that that was only the calm before the storm, or should Yoongi say, the hurricane.
The room remained silent as it seemed everyone was frozen in time. Some students mouths were agape and others were in utter disgust.
Yoongi had made the grave mistake of trusting that one single fart because all of a sudden, as if Noah had just parted the Red Sea that was Yoongi’s ass cheeks, shit had began to leak out of his booty. It was like the dam had broke and shit was flooding Yoongi’s boxer briefs. Shrieks and profanities originating from the students rang out into the room. Yoongi felt his face heat up, knowing at this point he must be as red as Ronald McDonald’s wig. He couldn’t move nor could he make himself say something, anything to mend the situation. Because in all honestly, there was no coming back from this.
The smell coming from his bottom was deadly and many of the students, suddenly coming in contact with the horrid scent, began to evacuate the room. Even his teacher, who just shot Yoongi a less than amused look, pinched his nose and ran out of the room. Everyone was gagging, even Yoongi because this was one shit that he didn’t enjoy the smell of.
Yoongi was the only one left in the room when he finally stopped shitting himself (literally and figuratively). It wasn’t like he could move anyways, his pants were so full of crap he couldn’t move one inch without it sliding down his legs and making more of a mess than he already was. He couldn’t believe this had happened to him today; he should’ve known not to eat the gas station gimbap his roommate had brought home last night.
Yoongi could stew on that topic later however, right now he needed to come up with a solution on how the hell he was going to get back to his dorm without trailing diarrhea behind him. ——— After the whole “shit and get” fiasco, Yoongi had managed to make it home. Currently he was sitting at his laptop, staring at the club penguin log in screen. He wasn’t sure if he really wanted to waddle around the server after what had happened. Although he soon came to the conclusion that if there was anything that could make him feel better, it was club penguin. So Yoongi logged onto the server and was met with his decked out igloo. A small smile appeared on his face when he saw that his bestie, jdope23, was also online. He didn’t hesitate to send a quick message to them, telling them to come to his igloo ASAP. Already Yoongi was starting to be in better spirits, almost forgetting the events that occurred today. Almost.
Within the span of a few minutes jdope23 had appeared in the genius lab, waddling around and messing with yoongi’s things. Yoongi just rolled his eyes, a silly grin plastered on his face as he watched the green penguin start to break dance on the mini dance floor Yoongi had in his igloo.
Sugasweet66: hey wassup nerd
Jdope23: nothing much
Yoongi began to type back a response when another chat bubble appeared on his screen.
Jdope23: Lmao sumthin funny happen today tho
Yoongi furrowed his brows as he typed back.
Sugasweet66: wut
Jdope23: literally best day eva
He sighed at this, it definitely wasn’t the best day ever for him.
Sugasweet66: u gonna tell me or
Jdope23: someone shattered their pants in class HA
Yoongi choked. He literally choked on the saliva forming in his mouth. He couldn’t be? No there was no way on God’s green earth that jdope23 was talking about what had happened to him today in class.
Sugasweet66: LOL I dnt believe u
Jdope23: no 4 rEAL! It happen in my music theory class
Jdope23: this dood let it all go right before the bell rang and it smelled like someone opened a 50 year old tub of mayo
Yoongi thought he would drop dead right then and there. His palms were sweaty and his stomach began to ache at the memories of today. Not only was jdope23 a person in his class but he had witnessed Yoongi’s shitdown!
Sugasweet66: That me
Sugasweet66: I the one who crapped his pants
Jdope23: Lmao wut
Sugasweet66: I pooped my pants today in class!! You witnessed me let the floodgates of my a$$ break free
Jdope23: oh
Jdope23: OH
At this moment in time Hoseok was sitting in his dorm room, staring at his computer screen in complete and utter shock. The person he had been playing club penguin with for over 2 years now, sugasweet66, was actually someone he knew in real life. Someone who, not only was in his music theory class, but was his potential soulmate.
To Hoseok it sounded crazy but it all oddly made sense. The reason why Hoseok felt like he was going to shit himself today was because the boy who actually did shit himself in his class was actually his soulmate! He had always had an infatuation with said boy but never was able to get the courage to introduce himself.
Now he had multiple reasons to strike up a conversation.
The fact that sugasweet66 turned out to be the shitty boy in his class, who was also his soulmate, was merely coincidence but Hoseok felt like it was fate. It was fate that the owner of sugasweet66 shat himself in their music theory class, it was fate that the two had become penguin besties on the most amazing online game (and dating website) to ever exist.
Hoseok was overjoyed to say the least.
Jdope23: I think we’re soulmates
Sugasweet66 was temporarily banned from club penguin for using the phrase “what the actual flying fuck you talking about egghead”.
The end?

Back on July 5th i uploaded a SHORT reaction video about Spirit Untamed along with my review of the movie, The TV series and Spirit Stallion of the Cimarron in the description box. It got a little too long (over 5000) and had to shorten it down just for a little bit. So here’s the re-edited version of my review of Spirit Untamed
Spirit Untamed.... people are having mixed reactions about the movie. As for me...i'm not going to see it and the reason is because they decided to reboot the first episode of the TV series Riding Free and not a sequel to the 2002 Spirit Stallion of the Cimarron. I was 12 years old when Spirit Stallion of the Cimarron came out into theatres. I didn't see it in theatres but have watched it on VHS and still have the copy to this day. When the first time I saw anything about Spirit I was amazed by the animation, music, characters, etc and loved it even more when i watched the film. I also have a love for horses, since they are my favorite animals and my Chinese zodiac sign and Spirit gave me a love of horses even more. Spirit was made over the course of four years of a blend of traditional hand-drawn animation and computer. James Baxter who famously animated Who Framed Roger, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Prince of Egypt, Gravity Falls, Steven Universe, Wolf Walkers and many more also animated Spirit Stallion of the Cimarron.
He animated different expressions for the horses and mentioned that Spirit was the most difficult piece of animation that he has done. They also brought in a real Kiger Mustang horse named "Donner" renamed "Spirit" as a model for the movie. The other animators studied the horse(s) anatomy, movements featuring hoof beats and vocals that were used to express their vocals in the film. That's right...the horses don't talk in this movie...but you can imagine what the horses are saying in your mind. The music of course was composed by none other than Hans Zimmer himself with songs by Bryan Adams who became the horse(s) voice in song during the film. Matt Damon did the voice of Spirit even though Spirit didn't actually talk. Now I've wanted to see a Spirit 2 movie for a LONG TIME...then years later and was quite surprised that DreamWorks did a TV series of Spirit: Riding Free.
To be honest, I'm not a big fan of the show. I didn't like how the animation looked, including the horses and didn't know that this "Spirit" character was actually the son of Spirit and Rain from 2002. This version of Spirit was a clone of Spirit with just a stripe which doesn't resemble his mother Rain. If there was a reanimation of Spirit and Rain's son or daughter, they would have done the version from the Breyer Spirit Stallion of the Cimarron figurines that also had the baby figurine that has markings of BOTH Spirit and Rain. Also Spirit Riding Free ruined the tagline from Spirit "Some spirits can't be broken" and decided to give Spirit a rider throughout the series while in S:SOTC Spirit gets captured by the Army and tries to break him including the Colonel and thinks that he successfully tamed Spirit and tells the others of speaking his idea of how any wild horse can be tamed but becomes unsuccessful as Spirit finally throws him off.  During the film Spirit and Little Creek had a TRUE bond, even though Spirit is a wild mustang. Even in the end when Little Creek names the stallion the "Spirit-Who-Could-Not-Be-Broken" and sets both Spirit and Rain, Spirit will never forget him and how both Spirit and Little Creek won their freedom together.
One other thing i would like to point out for Spirit Riding Free, they don’t show or even mention the names of Spirit and Rain during the entire show run except for the one flashback episode "Fast Friends: Lucky & Spirit Meet for the FIRST Time!" (didn’t like how Spirit and Rain looked). It was earlier this year that I saw on Wiki that it was announced that in Oct 2019 a “new” Spirit movie will be released on May 14,2021 then got changed to June 4, 2021 and finally after many years, (not sure of what my reaction was) but was excited to see a Spirit 2 movie. When the trailer was released, it was revealed as a reboot of the first episode of the TV series Riding Free. When I saw the trailer, I was not happy that the movie was going to be a reboot of the tv series, not an original story from the 2002 movie. It would have been nice to see a movie without modern day politics and agenda. Maybe that’s why the colonists/Native Americans were no longer in Riding Free and Untamed. The production along with animation was done during the pandemic.
They decided to dedicate it to the memory of Kelly Asbury, the co-director of the original Spirit film, who died on June 26, 2020. So that’s one positive thing. I wasn’t thrilled about the animation of how the horses looked (including their faces) and could have worked a little better on the human characters. When they created Lucky they followed the modern day standards not the period of time which Spirit universe and also don’t quite match up between original movie and show if Spirit is the father of Spirit Jr. Which also makes the period of time even more confusing. I have been told that on average horses live long enough (For Example: The real Spirit who lives in the Return to Freedom Wild Horse Sanctuary in Cali is 26 years old!) but the complete disappearance of colonialists and them being replaced with settlers is never explained. also it’s weird to make the colonel and his goons disappear into thin air.
They would have made better villains than the random horse wranglers-thugs Lucky and her friends had to deal with. But they did change the ending...which i’m not spoiling it. But I did like the different color schemes for the different horses. My advice is to just watch the original. You can love Untamed/Riding Free or not love it and I won't judge, just don’t make nasty comments. This is my honest review about Spirit Untamed and a little bit of Riding Free and I hope you enjoyed it and if you did, comment, like, subscribe and hit the bell for future videos. Until next time, safe traveling everyone. Bye!

RIVITA
Hailing from the colorful escapades of India, Rivita creates electro-acoustic landscapes with her music. After completing an extensive education in music, she is currently based in LA and is focused on writing new music and playing virtual shows. Her latest single ‘Lonely With Someone’ is a story of the consequence of addiction and the unsaid hidden scars that it leaves. The song is a segway from her previous release ‘Someone Else’s Arms’, Rivita states “With this piece of work, I wanted to express the strength an individual really holds. There have been many moments in my life, I have surprised myself with my own strength and while facing some of my biggest fears in tough situations. While growing up I watched someone get lost in the sea of addiction. As I got older, I realized just how common addiction is across the globe and how well it is masked sometimes. It has caused me pain and it felt like I had no right to feel this way because I was not the one with the disease. I wanted to find a way to release my feelings without the consequence of being told to get over it or to stop thinking about it. This is the only way I thought I’d ever be able to fully express myself, through this song”. Listen below.

Lyla DiPaul
Lyla DiPaul is an American recording artist based out of New Orleans. DiPaul grew up in Takoma Park, MD where she fell in love with playing guitar and writing songs at the age of 10. She draws musical inspiration from a variety of songwriters including Taylor Swift, Joni Mitchell, and Phoebe Bridgers. DiPaul eloquently relays the feeling of love and heartbreak through her music, and hopes to connect to people through her work. Her latest single is ‘Still Unwell’ and here is what Lyla had to say about the release: ”I wrote ‘Still Unwell’ with my friend MC in the fall of 2019. Simply put, it is a breakup song. We always describe it as being about nostalgia for a relationship. When you miss all the good things and bad things about a person, and just cannot move on. We recorded the bulk of the song in the studio at Loyola University, New Orleans and then ended up finishing up the guitar work and the vocals in my bedroom after things became unsafe due to the pandemic.” Listen below.

Mango In Euphoria
Starting her project in London after being employed in Florida and travelling through the United States, French-born alternative artist and songwriter Mango In Euphoria quickly found her audience when she dropped her first experimental work at the end of 2020. The singer is an emerging talent noticeable by her quirky style and her mysterious signature voice, matching her very own unique musical tracks mixing Electronic Rock, Dream Pop and Dark-wave genres. Creating melodies coming from her mind with virtual instruments and recording with a very basic microphone during the global Coronavirus pandemic, Mango In Euphoria also began to work remotely with Belgian producer Philippe Francq who helped her in developing a lot of demos with physical instruments inspired from vintage influences such as the Twin Peaks series soundtracks, The Cure, and Garbage. As Mango was mainly musically influenced by Grimes and Lana Del Rey, there's no doubt that the result would be quiet outstanding. Her new song ‘Golden Shrine’ is about celebrating who you are as a unique person, embracing this uniqueness “and also about someone who started to copy everything I was doing when everything was coming from my creativity so instead of getting more pissed off I created a song about it!” she laughs. Shannon
East London singer-songwriter, Shannon is an indie-pop artist that brings soulful tones through her vocals. Her music shares stories and experiences through heartfelt lyrics and production driven by acoustic guitar. Her latest single ‘But He's There’ is an upbeat track about the complications of falling for a close friend. The lyrics reveal inner thoughts of uncertainty about stepping out of one's comfort zone to fulfil an exciting idea of love. As the song builds, the story unfolds and reflects the fantasy for a closer relationship. Shannon's high notes introduce an unexpected direction to the vocal line that mirrors the feeling of being caught unaware by your thoughts and feelings. Whilst picturing the production for this song, some influential tracks from the 90's came to mind from artists such as Corinne Bailey Rae, Lauryn Hill and Natasha Bedingfield. The laid-back drums and organ keys give off a chilled vibe, almost as if the song acts as a passing thought during a relaxed Sunday morning. Listen below.

Nille Nyc
Following up on the release of her debut EP PowerPainPillsPercussion, Danish electro pop artist Nille Nyc has just released new single ‘Someone Else’, her first of 2021, as a per cursor to her upcoming full-length album. Let’s face it, we’ve all been there: a relationship that seems to constantly be teetering on the edge of the abyss, until one day when it finally implodes. Afterwards, all that we can do is pick up the pieces and move on. ‘Someone Else’ is a story about looking back at the aftermath of a bad relationship from the safety of a better place. With a playful guitar, heavy R&B beat and edgy vocals, ‘Someone Else’ opens a new chapter in Nille Nyc’s musical journey. “Throughout our lifetime we experience relationships which challenge our core values as human beings, both professionally and personally. Every relationship needs to grow and mature; to look to the future while keeping the lessons of the past in mind. The same holds true for music. Every musician needs to keep innovating and experimenting. They need to take risks and challenge themselves by exploring new ideas and new ways of expressing themselves. If they don’t, then they run the risk of becoming static and their music will suffer for it”, Nille Nyc says. Listen below.
