“Chill out, sweetheart. It’s just a hockey puck.”
“You almost broke my nose!” You all but yell, eyes narrowed into a glare. You’re practically hugging the wall beside you, having flinched away at the hockey puck Casey Jones had sent ricocheting off the goalpost in the ice rink.
He slides up to where you sit, the wall divider separating him from your frustrated punch. You sigh in defeat, picking up the hockey puck when your racing heart calms and tossing it back to him.
You grab the textbooks next to you, rearranging them with a few pieces of paper with math equations scribbled on them. Casey eyes it with disdain, leaning onto the divider.
“C’mon, you need to study. You have a test coming up soon.”
“Don’t worry, sweetheart,” he rolls his eyes at your anxious expression, “I’ll ace the quiz, no problem.” You cross your arms at this statement, looking at him with deadpan eyes. You don’t believe a single word of it; his past history of bad grades only proves otherwise.
“Trust me! I’ll be fine. In fact, I should be rewarded for how good I’m gonna ace it.” His lips quirk up into a lazy smirk. You straighten your back.
“A bet? Interesting. What do you think should be your reward, though?” Your question stumps him, and Casey’s lips purse in thought.
What should he ask for? A free meal? A date? What would be something only you could give that wasn’t too outrageous?
“A kiss.” The decision tumbles past his lips before he can process it, and he’s about to laugh it off, but the way you grimace only makes his smirk grow. To his surprise, however, you nod with a roll of your eyes.
“Sure,” You snort, “If you get an A on the quiz, I’ll give you a kiss.” You were confident he wouldn’t be able to ever get that high of a grade, so your lips were safe and remained unkissed.
“Shake on it?” He holds out his gloved hand, and you grab it firmly, a smug grin on your lips. You pump your hand up and down, sealing the deal.

Casey groans in frustration, hunched over his messy desk. Scrunched-up wads of paper fill his table, some scattered on the floor. He slumps down with a sigh onto the open textbook, cheek squished against the paper and fiddling with his pencil.
Why was he working so hard anyway? It wasn’t like he wanted that kiss for real or anything.
He recalls your smug grin, almost taunting. He sits back upright with a scowl. He’d show you! He was Casey Jones, the saviour of New York City and soon to be the highest scorer in class! He’d prove you wrong and get that kiss from you, picturing your surprised face and the frustrated scowl on your smooth, pink lips.
Yeah, he’d prove you wrong.

The bell rings, signalling the end of the test paper. He heads off to lunch in a daze. He was pretty sure he nailed most of the questions, save for the trick one at the end. He’d do alright, wouldn’t he?
Yeah, he’d get an ‘A’ easily.
“Nervous?” He’s snapped out of his thoughts when you nudge him gently, having queued up beside him. He picks up the last mini parfait in front of you both, absentmindedly setting it down on your tray without as much of a glance. You like parfaits, he recalls, having shown up to many tutoring sessions with you snacking on one.
He misses the flicker of surprise in your eyes, your gaze softening when you realize he noticed and even remembered your favourite dessert.
He turns to face you, surprised when he sees your dyed hair. “Woah! Nice highlights!” He remarks, and your cheeks blossom pink from embarrassment. He smiles widely at the sight.
“Thanks. I just wanted to try something new, I guess.” You fiddle with the ends of your hair, looking away. He wants to add how good the colour looks on you, but the words die in his throat once your friends call you away.
“Hey, good luck on that test. Even if you don’t get an A, you’ll definitely have improved from the last one.” You add before walking away, a genuine smile on your lips.
He chooses to forego his unsaid compliment, grinning widely. “Thanks, sweetheart.” He watches you walk away with the tray in your hands, sitting down with your usual group. He almost walks into a wall, stumbling back just in time and tearing his gaze away from where he’s watching you laugh. Were your eyes always this bright?
Weird.

Casey holds the piece of paper, gulping before turning it around. He opens his eyes, having subconsciously squeezed them shut in anticipation. A large ‘A’ is circled on the top next to his name, and he whoops in delight.
The teacher frowns at him, and he quickly shuts up and sits back in his seat. He’s practically vibrating in his chair, adrenaline and excitement coursing through his veins. He couldn’t wait to show you and rub the result in your face while gloating. And, of course, the kiss!
The kiss?
He pauses. Why had that been what he was most excited for?
Of course, he was excited about the kiss. It was what you had bet on, after all, he reasons. But a slight feeling nags him in the corner of his mind, unable to pinpoint exactly what was so odd.
It’s not like he has a crush on you or anything. That’d be weird. You’re just his tutor, after all. It’d be bizarre if he did. That’s why he doesn’t have a crush on you.
Right?

1. What is your favourite childhood movie and why?
Strangely I’d never been big on movies or tv as a kid or even now (I want to get more into it now but my adhd still says no) my mum even told me that when I was young she could sit my brothers in front of the tv to be entertained but not me, I’d lose interest hella quickly… probs the first time I got into anything tv related was when I was 10-12 and was invested in the drama of the tv series “dance academy” on abc3 Ive actually met the producer! other than that I didn’t mind a reality show as a kid but then most of that wore off after I studied media in school and we went as live audience to “reality” shows and I realised how set up everything was and couldn’t care less afterward -
If I had to pick any movie that I loved and that still strangely brings me some sort of comfort.. it would have to be the 2010 Jaden Smith Version of Karate Kid ahahaha idk why (well I kinda do there’s lots of reasons but then I’d go on another whole tangent so I won’t) I was like 11 when it came out so I think that can count :) I can weirdly watch it over and over whereas most other movies I watch once and never again.
2. Do you have a favourite book or book series and why?
I talked about this in some previous posts on here but my fav book of all time is “Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine” by Gail Honeyman !!!!! I also am very passionate about “The uncaged sky: my 804 days in an Iranian Prison” by Kylie Moore-Gilbert (the audiobook version narrated by Kylie herself) and fav wholesome series has gotta be the Heartstopper graphic novels!!!! AHAHA again I could go on and on and on about why I love them all individually as they are all VERY DIFFERENT from each other, but I’ll literally be writing like 3 giant essays so I’ll stop myself now!! I will say, while it’s important we consume and love media that we don’t relate to to broaden our perspectives of life, it’s obviously easy to consume and love media that we see a small part of ourselves in and think this has a lot to do with why I love these so much!
3. The colour that makes you happy
Probably a dark green which reminds me of the rainforest:))))
4. Your favourite cereal?
I honestly don’t eat cereal and never really have :,) cereals were kinda demonised in my house as a child (almond mum tings?) but then eventually they weren’t anymore but I never rlly enjoyed their taste - this is such a sad answer but probably Kelloggs sultans bran LMAO. I haven’t had it for years but I rlly don’t mind it … I think it’s probably very different to American cereals cause it’s not sweet … one time I went to an American food store here in Aus and everything I tried taste like pure sugar and hurt my stomach so bad LOL never again I’m hoping and praying that Americans have other food options not featured in this store 😭 cos I understand some of it as a one off dessert but like everyday breakfast omg noooo I hope ur stomachs are ok
5. Your favourite gemstone?
I’m ngl I don’t have a super passionate answer about this one off the top of my head (sorry I’m such a boring person!!) I think they’re all so pretty!!! I gave them a google to try decide which I like most but it’s impossible .. I think I love any of the blue ones!! I’ll tell you one thing I rlly don’t love the yellow topaz cos I’m born in Nov and I see it on everything and I swear it’s the worst one imo like liteeally any other one I love! But I can still appreciate it ig :,)
6. Any activity you liked as a child and do you still like it now?
My biggest pain as a child was athletics!!!! I used to be competitive in 100m, 200m, long jump and triple jump :) sadly I no longer do athletics or compete but my passion for running/competitiveness lived on and by 15 I ran my first half marathon.. but from 17 onwards I got quite sick and was unable to run (minus a few little months of getting back into it over the yrs only to have to stop again) and now I’m 24 and finally getting back into it again.. kinda.. cos my health is still kinda shit but I’ll go for a lot shorter runs a couple times a week and hoping and praying my health gets better so I can proper get back into it.. not to compete anymore just for myself cos it’s one of the only things in this life that brings me joy :) I’ve also always loved taking photos although I’m not professional or anything it’s just been a fun little hobby I guess.. I have a few diff cameras but in currently trying (failing) to save for this new different one.. just waiting for my uni scholarship money this tri bc I’m too unwell to use it to go on a holiday atm I’m gonna use it to buy this camera I’ve been wanting oop :,) I’m a much bigger a fan of film photography over digital but the camera I’m planning on buying is kinda a combo of both eg. It produces images of a similar vibe to film photography but is actually digital so u don’t have to worry about wasting film :) it’s also a point and shoot, super small and can be taken anywhere which is much better than my current digital camera which is bulky and has a million settings idk how to use lol.
7. Have you ever read Lucy Maud Montgomery books?
I was about to say no I’ve never heard of her but then I googled it and saw Anne of Green Gables which I read when I was like literally 8… and as I’ve said in a previous post I never remember what I’ve read even if I read it two minutes ago bc adhd tings but I always remember how it made me feel - and I remember really enjoying it! Maybe I should give it a reread cause I barely remember what it was about :,) as for the rest of her books I don’t think I’ve read any! I love so much that you have a fandom page omgggg I wish I was that passionate about something !!!! PLS PLS give me recommendations if someone were only to read 1 of her books .. okay maybe 2 for now!!!!! I might actually give them a read :)))

Time has a secret appreciation for gag gifts but will NEVER admit it out loud unless he wants the boys to constantly give him walking canes or the medieval equivalent to Werther's Originals. But nevertheless, he does appreciate the gift/joke when he's out of sight.
Oh, please give him a pun book. His eye(s) will light up when he realizes what it is, but be prepared cause he isn't gonna shut up any time soon.
Ocarina
A new ocarina and new memories. He won't admit it but he chest does get tight at the sight of it, but his heart flutters in the same beat. He's gentle as he takes it into his hands, admiring the wooden instrument in it's construction. Now, he is more used to the 12 holed ocarina but isn't against learning how to use other kinds of ocarinas, magical or not.
Warriors
Bouquet of Flowers
Such a soft and beautiful gift will warm his heart! Being so used to the harsh memories of wars and death, the sight of the beautiful bouquet makes him stutter for a moment. It takes a second for him to register that this is for him. The delicate petals, the vibrant colours, they contrast the bloodied swords and shields. It's....nice.
Earrings
Warriors strikes me as someone who has a collection of earrings. Now, seeing as he is a Captain he can't carry such things around with him. It not because he's embarrassed or ashamed (quite the opposite actually), it's simply a safety hazard and would take up more room than necessary. So he keeps such things in his quarters back home, which means he has had the same simply earrings in for months.
So, its easy to say he got excited when he opened the small box he was handed and saw what was inside. He'll put them in immediately and practically prance around camp!
Twilight
Handmade Blankets
Twilight grew up in a small village, so gifts like this aren't unfamiliar! Most of his blankets back home were gifts to him, so being given a similar gift fills him with nostalgia! He melts even more if he was given the thick woven blanket because the gifter was concerned he gets cold. (Tbh he's probably a living furnace but it's still nice!)
Bandana
At first he's very confused at the gift but still appreciated it! It was a lovely green that went well with his armor and tunics. And as he tied it around his neck, it fit perfectly! It wasn't too tight or loose and it didn't bother his neck. As much as Twilight enjoys the gift he can't help but be confused...and a little suspicious.
He continued to fiddle with the bandana even when you made a hasty retreat. Suddenly, he fingertips ran across something that stuck off from the fabric. Twilight gives a light tug and pulls off the bandana to get a closer look only to find a tag. At a closer look he notices the brand on the tag.
It was a fucking dog brand bandana.
Sky
New Wood Carving Tools
A new set of carving tools would mean a lot to him! I'd like to think that he has two sets that he owns, a very well made set that is back at Skyloft and one decent set that he carries on him at all time. The ones on him have seen almost as much as he has, and have been chipped beyond repair. BUT to be gifted with brand new tools that beat any tools he had at home is truly baffling!
Plushie
Something soft, tiny and comfortable to sleep with?! SIGN HIM UP! The soft fabric, the cute aesthetic and thoughtfulness! He loves it and couldn't be more happy, and if you sewn it yourself? DOUBLE LOVE!! He doesn't care what the others have to say, he is holding that plushie to his chest every damn night! Bonus points if it is a loftwing and bonus bonus points if its red!
Wild
Recipe Book
A BOOK FILLED WITH NEW AND INTERESTING RECIPES?! How could he refuse such a brilliant gift! Now, as much as Wild loves cooking and experimenting with all sorts of food, he also loves learning about the culture surrounding these dishes! It is served with other specific dishes? Is it associated with certain events? How common is it? Or is it considered a cuisine! Bonus points if these foods are from your background! He has many questions.
Masks
Wild certainly has a large collection of masks, so large that it almost rivals the old man's! Almost. But he is always happy to add to his odd collection, especially if its more monster masks! He'll be more than happy to sit down and listen to you as you explain the origin of this mask! The more scary the better!
Legend
A Unique Item (Handmade items/gifts. I.e. art work, clothes, jewelry etc)
What do you get the man who -quite literally- has everything? Something one of a kind! Something that was made out of love and struggle (and maybe tears but who am I to say). Whether it's simply or complex gift he'll love it all the same. The fact you thought to make something from scratch just for him warms his heart. Even if he won't admit it!
Sea Shells
He's very very confused at first. He didn't mean to sound rude as he asked why you give him a sack of shells, but he was quick to regret his tone as you shrink back. But the reason you gave nearly brought him to tears.
You quietly said you've been collecting them for him, collecting them from everywhere the group has been. But as he continued to press, you admitted you wanted to gift him something to that when he left -when everyone left- he'd know that this was real. That everyone was real. And that he had friends from across time and space.
Four
Customized Hammer
Not only would Four love a new forging/blacksmithing hammer but on that customized for him?! He would be so giddy! Now, you may be asking, how is it a customized hammer? What makes it special?
The sides of the hammer are engraved with images! And these images look like a familiar small mouse creature~ They are subtle in their design and from an outsiders view, it'll look like some sort of logo!
Jeweled Bracelet
Something small but strong, either brought or made. Inlaid in the bracelet are four gems that sit side by side. Four gems of vibrant colours, each one representing each part of him. The inside of the bracelet -the part that rests again his skin- holds his initials. The metal is a harsh contrast to his warming skin, he really likes it.
Hyrule
New Flowers/Herbs
A hobby of Hyrule's is pressing flowers and herbs in his journal, which is filled with information about everything single plant found in it (based on this headcanon). Being given something to add to his collection brings him so much joy and excitement! Oh, how he can't wait to find out what interesting properties these plants might have! Bonus points if you gifted specific flowers to him cause they reminded you of him! Bit of a warning, he might get extremely flustered!
Compass
For a traveler, he tends to get lost quite a bit huh? He will be quite grateful for a compass to help whenever he steps off the trail! Though at first he is quite embarrassed and tries to say that, while he appreciates the gift he doesn't need a compass that bad! Hyrule accepts the gift after getting a stern look from some members *ahem* Time *ahem* of the group.
Wind
A Ship in a Bottle
A thoughtful gift that reminds him of home. When presented with the gift he has to contain the squeal of joy! (He fails but don't tell anyone) He turns the bottle over in his hands, trying to see every detail of the ship trapped inside. Bonus points if the ship itself resembles Tetra's boat. (A few tears might fall but that's a secret between you and him)
A Beaded Bracelet
It doesn't matter if it's hand made or store bought, he loves it with his whole heart! Whether the beads are crafted by the most talented craftsmen or by a simple tool, he admires every detail and every nick in the wood (intentional or not!). He can't help but smile as he slips it onto his wrist, it reminds him of the matching bracelets his little sister used to make for both of them.

Sweet potato & chickpea savoury pancakes
Also known as "some shit i just made up cause i wanted to make falafels but the first recipe i found insisted i dont use canned chickpeas but thats all i had"
Both names are too long.
1 can of chickpeas
1 small sweet potato
Like 5 cloves of garlic. Maybe more
1-2 cups of flour? Idk i wasnt paying attention
Olive ouil
Salt, pepper, paprika, cumin, i think i put something else in but i dont remember. Oh yeah baking soda?
Cause of the whole ass can of chickpeas (large) this makes quite a lot so get ready to flipp
Drain most of the can goop and then blend chickpeas with little bit of water. Add more water if its not blending well
I also blended in some olive oil and salt here but that can probably wait till later lol
Get your sweet potato and wash it then stab it with whatever.
Microwave it until soft, took mine about 3 minutes, turning it every once and awhile (be careful will be hot)
Crush up your garlic with the side of your knife or a big rock you painted on when you were 12 that your mother keeps in the kitchen for some reason, while you wait for your potato.
Run some cool water and skin the mushy sweet potato with your bare hands like a beast (you probably shouldn't do anything i write this is dangerous you could burn yourself)
Moving the chickpea mush to a large bowl, blend the sweet potato and your garlic with some water.
Put that shit in the same bowl and mix with the spices, baking sota, and enough flour to get it to look like this
Not quite a dough but not NOT a dough.
Really sticky and not rollable.
Let sit in fridge for an hour maybe? Thats what the falafel recipe said but mine only sat for like 45 minutes cause i got impatient
In a non stick pan (i think i dont actually know where this pan came from) put enough oil in. Ideally i think that it would be enough to cover the entire thing but i didnt wanna waste that much oil and it absorbs quickly so idk.
I have a glass-top stove and those cycle how hot they get so i kept a close eye on it and flipped between medium to medium-low whenever i felt it was getting too hot
I used a 1/4 cup to scoop it, but i only used like a third of it. 1/4 a cup is way too much. Do a single test one to make sure its at a good temp
Each side takes like 30 sec to a minute idk i have adhd times not real. Should be a nice deep brown colour.
Theres raw flour in there so get a lid for your pan and keep it covered so the insides cook a bit. It will still be mushy inside.
Get a plate with some paper towel set up close by to put them on once theyre done.
My pan could handle frying 4 or 5 at a time, make sure youve got some extra room as theyre gonna be really tall and not very wide when you first dump em in and then youre gonna want to squish em once theyre fried on one side.
Ok you probably shouldnt follow this recipe i just thought id write it down for myself cause they turned out way better tasting than i thought they would. If you hurt yourslef its not my fault goodbye

Thoughts (since I don't write on Tumblr often
I've been following Jeff's career since like...mid-Kinnporsche airing, I don't remember exactly when but like he had the first 3 songs from his new chapter phase. And honestly, I'm really proud of the guy, like from the cutesy songs he started with to working on a well-defined style and universe, to his now international stardom...Congrats!!
I'm also wondering about the album since he said there was 12 songs, (and we're missing single 9) and Stranger might be released inside the album but there's at least 1-2 new songs. He basically gave himself the opportunity to promote for a long-ass time with all these MVs (and thanks the sponsorships+the money he made for this clip budget) but that also means very little new songs. Like for album 2, is it going to be a mini-album? Or a normal-sized one? Is he going to go the one MV one song way again?
I don't know how thaï music industry works but it's going to be interesting. I hope there's Covid precautions in place at his concerts because I would hate for him to have his career shortened that way. Like fans, please wear masks. I wanna hear the high notes, and he's basically set himself up by having one high note per song (no, you don't need it Jeff) and that makes it hard to not to have public, embarassing false notes (is it how you say it in English? I'm French btw)
The studio posting in advance the Cartier Paris event schedule is funny, I've visited the museum and it's absolutely a visit during opening hours on a normal opening day. They probably privatized it with lots of money, but if they don't it's gonna be funny to see random art students going "who's that guy/why is there so many celebs??"(Paris museums are either closed on Monday or Tuesday, depending if they're state museums or city museums)
He's made quite a lot of connections last year, going from the first partnerships (the cat food one was mandatory) to high-end partnerships with luxury brands. I would love to know what made him choose these ones and reject the others but we will never know what has he been offered.
Also, Chuang! Except for one of the mentors I didn't know, it feels weird to see people I've seen being rookies listening to seniors becoming the judges of today, when the judges used to be people who weren't known celebrities to the idol fan watcher. Now my idols are another idol's idol! Like I'm going to watch a show (on and off because I'm busy) because of the judges and not the contestants! In terms of the competition, I wonder how they're going to be promoted, especially since it's a girl group. Like, when Produce/Chuang was created, it looked unrealistic, and here we are! I think the girls version of the show tends to be the first, and idol girls seem less "guaranted success" than the nth boygroup. Idk about thai music industry again, so idk how idols survive, because the only idol girls I kow in Thaïland are Sizzy from GMM..We'll see, but I hope the show fulfills its role of career launcher without scandals or evil editing.
Back to the actual topic, seeing the Jeff pyjama pic for the show's filming is making me wonder if he's going to be styled in Valention the whole time. If it's the case, we could literaly have a guessing party before the episode teasers, though he's a wild card since he picks women's clothes too. Please show, make him wear a skirt! A pantaskirt?
Also, his haircut, an actual discussion topic (but kpop idols announce comebacks by hair colour, so why not?) is making him look like he's somewhere between 18-22. Like it's only when he styles it back that it doesn't give him too much of a baby face. For his movie, I think they're filming backwards or not in order in terms of time period, because I don't think they're going to do bald cap if he needs to have no hair. We might get short military-like (I hope he doesn't keep it, I love the long hair). But also, is it me or he's started working out the Dorito back way? Like, he's got more arm and shoulder muscles than without workout, but last singing appearance he really looked "guy who works out to have a triangular back" and that may be movie-related as well? Again and again, idk.
I don't really write about stuff a lot, the thoughts often stay in my head, but yeah, here they are!
For his next career moves, I'm mostly curious about how much space he's going to give to acting or being in reality shows, since he's a singer first. I think Wuju is going to be his last work with Barcode as a partner, but I'm curious about where he's going to be casted if he does series again, like he has more options than just the BOC productions (unlike Barcode) and he may become a "pass-around, no fixed ship actor. But we're making plans on a comet now, and I really should go back to working, so bye for now!

*sighs* Oh yes. Candy Coated Nightmare. I am not finishing it on principle. It was originally inspired by a gif fic. That gif fic was taken down when the creator left the fandom due to their art and gifs being stolen over and over again.

AH! Okay, so I suck at explaining things BUT I will try my best.
Okay, so I'll go through the students that I've already made faires for, which in hindsight is only like 7 of them (Izuku, Katsuki, Kirishima, Denki, Shoto, Ochako and Iida) since i have an incredibly short intention span so if this comes out a bit late then I'm sorry.
Okay. So, in the Barbie princess charm movie they say that 'the fairies are to act as student's person assistants.'. But I thought that seemed kinda soulless, for their only purpose to just serve humans, i think thats a bit weird.
So, I made a solution for this. Since U.A is a school were teens learn to become heroes I thought that fairies could have multiple jobs, one of which would be becoming pro-heroes personal Assistants, like a tiny sidekick. So, the fairies at U.A are all also teenagers, they wanted to go there to learn how to work as pro-heroes assistants. So, at the start of the year fairies are assigned to a student where they will be that students personal assistant, this helps both parties as the fairies get used to working with the heroes in training and vice versa. (Also, yes in the universe there ARE laws against fairy abuse. Also that can get you suspended from U.A ect.)
Where they come from can be debated, typically fairies come from the forest or whatever. I like to think that fairies existed before humans and they had been living in peace for YEARS so when humans started to grow in amount at first fairies did try to stay hidden but quickly realized that if they did that then humans would most likely freak out when finding them. So, at some point, probably around the 1600s fairies revealed themselves to humans although fairies didn't really get real rights until the 1900s (cause humans are weird like that.) As humanity and fairyity (?) evolved some fairy families decided to stay living in the forest whilst others moved into human cities with specially made houses by the government.
Okay, I am NOT good when it comes to staying consistent with stuff so in gonna go into specific fairies now. Also, I SUCK at making names, so they don't actually have names yet 😅 but most things are worked out..
Anyway, here's Izuku and Katsuki for now cause I'm incredibly tired but I might do more, but for now these are the two that I've worked on the most
Izuku Midoriya
Okay, so again I don't have a name but her general appearance is 'She has a petite figure as do most fairies. Her skin is a soft lilac colour. Her hair is a dark greyish purple, it's long and silky and straight. It reaches her mid-back. She has long curtain bangs and a small ahoge. She has freckles across her nose and baby blue eyes.'
Additionally; 'Shes around 3.4 inches tall, which makes her shorter than average since most fairies are around 3.7 inches to 4.2 inches tall. Her wings are delicate, thin enough to see through, they are tinted a crystal blue colour. She can fly with them although, just like legs, her wings can get tired if she flies for a long period of time.'
I LOVE designing female outfits, so she doesn't have a set outfit but here are some ideas; (picrew credits at the bottom of the page)
So, personality wise, she is like a puppy, curious, energetic ect. She is obsessed with humans, she thinks they are the most interesting creatures alive. She finds simple humans things fascinating like cats and fans, since her family was one of the ones who stayed living in the forest..so, she literally was only told about humans existence when she was like 12, so you better believe she was amazing with the concept of pro-heroes, so being a fairy she went to a school where she could train to be the next best thing (or the closest a fairy could be anyway).
Again, in terms of names. I don't have one. PLEASE give me suggestions so far I've thought of stuff like; Ivy or Liliac
Anyway, Izuku, this man 100% knows EVERYTHING about fairies, he did his research. He knows U.A students get a fairy assistant, he has done SO much research on fairies history, customs, mannerisms ect. And you better believe he is incredibly gentle when he has to hold or pick up one of the fairies, he's also done his research on the best ways to hold a fairy to avoid hurting their wings ect. He also has a notebook dedicated to them and each fairy he meets in U.A gets their own page because of course they do. He also happy to answer any questions his fairy might have about humans.
He was awkward at first, being around someone so small did worry him slightly. Although, over time he got more comfortable around her, he asks he questions about fairies all the time. Unlike most people, his fairy actually likes listening to his rants and mumblings. Since his fairy is incredibly energetic and active, she barely ever settles down. So instead of sitting on his shoulder or in his pocket like most faires, she tends to just fly close to him, taking in her surroundings. She also has a tendency to wander off.
Okay, this is all I can think of rn for these two (any questions feel free to ask, my ask box is always open <3)
Katsuki Bakugou
(Not even gonna lie he's one of my favorites, I think hes one of the funniest characters on the entire show.)
Okay. So appearance wise; 'She has a petite figure, as do most fairies. He's skin is paper white, she has deep red eyes and curly reddish auburn hair, she has a side part and her hair goes down just to the middle of her neck. Her ears are pointy like elf ears, she has a small fangs. She also has small black earrings. Her wings are thicker than average, so she can fly for longer than most fairies, he wings are tinted pink. She is 3.9 inches tall, which is around average height for a fairy her age.'

Personality wise, she is incredibly sassy and sarcastic. She loves stupid people, genuinely. She loves hanging around with stupid people and just kinda watching them, she thinks it's great. (Aka mostly Denki.)
Okay. Katsuki. You better believe that man did NOT want a fairy. I mean he already hates other humans helping him nevermind a literal two inch tall fairy flying around trying to help him, how weak did U.A think he was to assign him a fairy to help him? Jesus. Luckily for him, his fairy couldn't be happier leaving him alone to help himself. After all, she really only wants to be a pro-heroes sidekick to watch all the fights go down, see how much blood gets drawn, y'know?
Surprisingly, Katsuki let's her sit on his shoulder throughout the day...then again unsurprisingly he sucks at holding and picking up fairies he's always too rough or aggressive. So most of the time she just flies around him and sits on his shoulder by herself instead of relying on him to literally carry her everywhere, which works out great since it would annoy the hell out of him if she did.
Also, they 100% gossip together and talk shit about other people whenever they're alone. Bonus points for the fact that she can fly near his ear when he's walking and whisper insults about the other people walking by.

Soulmate AU: There are a few different versions but the one I'm doing is where an hour before the new year a red string will appear on two soulmates' pinkies (if one's soulmate is not born or dead, it will not appear). The string will disappear once it turns to the new year. Might experiment with other versions in the future. Enjoy~

Hi! My name is (Y/n) (Seme last name) and I'm one of your average members of society. Nothing too special about me, just working my ass off to pay bills... like everyone else. This year is the 14th year I've been trying to find my soulmate. Yeah, I know. I've managed to miss my soulmate for 14 years. Whoever my destined partner is is gonna murder me once I find them. Honestly, after missing them for the fourth year, I kinda gave up and just took up the fact that I would be forever alone.
All of my friends had found theirs within the first or second year. But this lonely feeling in my heart kept on growing and growing and I really couldn't bear it anymore. I've earned enough money to live relatively well for the rest of my life, but money isn't going to get me a partner. Which is why I'm out at 12:46 right now, desperately following a glowing red string to wherever it'll take me.
I turned a sharp corner and stopped myself just in time before rushing out onto the busy streets. "Holy shit, how much further?" I growled, looking down at my watch as I waited for the street light to change. 11:57... I'm gonna miss it again... I thought as I started to dash again. "5! 4! 3! 2! 1!" Fucking- "Happy new year!!"
Fireworks were set off as I turned a corner, praying that the string wouldn't fade away. But I was still too late, the once glowing red string faded into nothingness. I was too busy watching it to notice another person turning the corner as well. "Ow!" He and I yelp simultaneously. Rubbing my head, I looked up, wincing slightly to see what I had bumped into. Coincidentally, the other person also looked up and we made eye contact. His (uke eye colour) eyes are beautiful…
A worried (and angelic, might I add) tone suddenly broke my train of thought. "Are you okay?" he asked, sticking out his hand so I could grab it. "Hm? Oh yeah, I'm fine. How about you?" I answered, taking his hand and pulling myself up. "No major injuries," he chirped, releasing my hand and dusting a bit more snow off of his legs. "Just a bit wet."
We went to a nearby hotel (cause they have laundry service there) and got a room. While our clothes took their sweet time getting clean, the male, who's name I learned is (U/n), and I talked a bit about the situation from before. He said that ever since he was born, there had been a red string every year and he was desperately trying to find his soulmate.
"That's quite some courage. What are you going to do if you can't find your soulmate?" His (uke eye colour) orbs had a hint of question as he thought about it. When he answered, he said: "As long as the string is there, I’ll make sure I find them!" I chuckled at his enthusiasm and got up to check on the washed and dried clothes. "You'll definitely find your soulmate before I do."
Another year has passed and it was about time single pringles would run around the streets trying to find their other half. I had been working out, along with (U/n) who decided that we should keep in contact. I was ready for this annual run, and I was determined to reach the finish line this time. (U/n) said he wanted to try a different neighbourhood and wanted to test his luck there, so I drove him there and dropped him off.
I found a crowded plaza close to him and parked my car, waiting for this ghost of a red string to appear once again. I dozed off thinking about what my significant other could look like. It would be nice if they had (uke hair colour) locks and stunning (uke eye colour) orbs... whoever it is could also have (uke skin tone) skin and be (shorter, taller, about the same height) as/then me...
I felt a rush of wind go past me as I see others running about the plaza, following what I see as nothing. I looked down and saw my own red string and snapped out of my thought. "Oh fuck, precious seconds I'm never getting back..." I cursed as I joined the crowd, running. Wind rushed through my sweat filled hair as I ran around the streets following the thin red string as it took me to... the neighbourhood I dropped (U/n) off at?!
"Damn it... if I knew they’d be here I would've stayed with (U/n)... What a waste of time..." I muttered, following the string, winding up and down the long roads to find (U/n) being harassed by a group of shady looking people.
"Come on! Just give in already! Your soulmate doesn't want you anymore so just stay with us! We'll make you feel so good!"
I rushed over and punched the bitches in their ugly ass faces and snatched (U/n) back from them. "Fuck off! He has a soulmate and it definitely isn't any of you!" Those very shady people must've seen my angry expression cause it didn't take them three seconds before they were running for their lives. After scaring them off, I looked down at (U/n), who was currently holding the sleeve of my jacket. “Did they hurt you anywhere?” I worriedly asked. "N-no... (Y/n), look at your- I mean our hands..."
I looked down and finally saw what I've been wanting to see for at at least a decade. The end of my red string was attached to none other than (U/n), who was admiring our hands like an art sculpture in a museum. His (uke eye colour) eyes were sparkling in the night, as he mumbled, "so maybe it was fate that we bumped into each oth- Mph?!"
I grabbed his face and hastily connected it with mine, just as fireworks fired off signaling the end of another year. Except this year would be the start of an everlasting relationship, bound together by lovely red strings of fate.

No Strings Ch 12
Warnings: Mentions of work hostage-ish situation. Blood, angst? Feels.
It had been another month, the summer in New York making you thankful for the warmer weather. Rafael had slowly been leaving more things at your apartment, spending more and more time there, and that, you were definitely okay with.
Then it happened, you were the last one in the office when a domestic violence call came in, a quick text to Carisi with details and you headed out. A squad car was already parked out front when you arrived, so without thinking, you entered the brownstone, announcing that it was NYPD. You hadn’t expected to find a gun pointed at you, and you certainly hadn’t expected to have to give up your own. You tried your best to talk the perp out of it, of letting everyone just walk out of there, your heart pounding in your chest as the gun turned towards you.
The uniformed officer had made a call in before entering the house, it wasn’t long until back up was there, including Olivia and Sonny. The minor details had been passed along, ESU was setting up, and the perp wasn’t backing down. Adrenaline was coursing through your body, keeping your senses heighten and on edge, working SVU had you shift to focussing on victims, shoving your instincts on situations like this to the back burner. Your brain was scrambling, trying to think clearly, while the uni was talking, and all it could focus on was Rafael. You prayed this wouldn’t end as badly as it could.

Carisi had made the call, realizing that it was only fair to at least have Barba there when you came out, he hadn’t said anything, just gave him the address and to get there.
“Anyone care to explain why you needed me out here before you even have a statement?” Rafael wasn’t impressed with being called halfway across town at the end of the day, especially on date night.
Olivia turned to him, a soft expression on her face, “We didn’t call you as the A.D.A…Y/N’s inside, perp was armed when she got there, she surrendered her weapon.” He went from annoyed to deeply concerned in a matter of seconds, feeling the colour draining from his face while trying to maintain composure, it had been nearly a year that you’d been involved, and he may have been holding back his emotions, he was absolutely terrified at the thought of something happening to you.
“You do have a plan to get her out of there safely?” Carisi could hear the ever so light shake in his voice.
“We’re workin’ on it.” An eye roll for a response, “Hey…she’s gonna be fine.”
“You don’t know that” Rafael muttered, Olivia gave him a sympathetic smile, squeezing his arm gently before turning back to the ESU team, figuring out their game plan.
Barely a moment had passed before shots rang out from inside, ESU, Liv and Sonny sprang into action and Rafael felt sick to his stomach, the bile piling in his throat as the scene unfolded in front of him, blood pounded in his ears. Officers were coming back out of the door, a woman with them, followed by the uni who’d been first on the scene. Trails of red speckled across their clothes. Raf could feel his eyes starting to swell with tears, doing everything he could to keep from running into the building himself. It was then that Liv came out, guiding a young boy over to his mother, behind her Carisi was at your side, a small girl in your arms, your shirt stained with blood. You looked shaky, frazzled, leaning on Carisi for support.
“Y/n!” He yelled, your face shot up, passing the girl off to Sonny, you quickly made your way over to him, “Oh my god.” He muttered quietly, reaching out for you.
“It’s not mine, I’m fine.” You shot out as soon as you were within ear shot, Barba made to pull you into him and you stopped him, “I’m covered in blood, I don’t wanna ruin your suit.”
Rafael laughed gently, “I don’t care.” He pulled you into the deepest hug you’d ever felt, you felt safe, you felt loved, you felt everything you hadn’t felt before. “All I care about right now is that you’re okay, that you’re alive Hermosa” Rafael stroked your hair gently with one hand as he pulled you tightly to him with the other, his heart still hammered in his chest, the thought of losing you was too much, you did your best to hold the tears in, the ones threatening to spill onto his chest.
After relaying your statements of what happened inside, talking with the people you needed to talk to, and a brief check up by a paramedic that Rafael insisted upon, Olivia sent you home. You were visibly shaken, sure, you faced dangerous situations pretty regularly, and were used to witnessing pretty horrible crimes, but it had been a while since you’d had a gun to your head. Squeezing Barba’s arm gently, you headed to the shower, being covered in someone else’s blood was never an ideal situation. The heat of the water streaming over you helped your body slowly relax as the crimson swirled down the drain, slowly scrubbing your body clean of the physical memories of the day. You took your time washing your hair and drying off while Rafael stewed in the kitchen, he’d poured himself a glass of scotch, not sure what else to even do at the moment. His head shot up when you padded back into the living room, clad in a pair of sweats and one of his old Harvard shirts, tears seemed to be swimming in your eyes.
“Drink?” He asked, voice barely above a whisper, you shook your head,
“Just you please.” He shot over to the couch, sitting with his back against the arm, pulling you into his chest, he could feel the vibrations of your body as you tried to hold back the tears, snuggling deep into his embrace. You let out a shudder of a whisper into his neck, “I love you…” Rafael’s heart both soared and shattered at your admission, he knew it came from a place of truth, a place of trust, but also a place where you realized you might not have gotten the chance to ever say it. He placed a kiss to the top of your hair, squeezing his arms tighter around you.
“I love you too.” Your body relaxed at his reply, the tension slowly leaking out, knowing that you were safe, and you were right where you belonged.

this is such a fun gifset! <333 Could you please explain how you made it? Like where you found these images and textures, how you created this white outline around the characters, which font you used etc. I hope that's okay to ask.
Yes of course it's okay Anon, I love to help with giffing when I can. We're gonna go through the Santana gif but I'll share the layers of Kurt and Rachel too to demonstrate that it's the same principle. And of course if you have any further questions please do ask.
So my comic book-style gif making started with the set before this one, Kitty's Paintbox Comeback set that's more like my most recent Quinntana hallway fight one. I'm pointing that out because I unfortunately, shamefully, didn't link to the tutorial I had used with later ones but did there. @yuutta’s wonderful tutorial is the one I based them all on so check that out for the comic effect itself.
So, Snixx Attack:
First, we just have the first half that’s a pretty straight-forward gif with some adjustments and last-minute colouring:
Now, we need to cut out Santana from the last frame, where we want this pop-up sort of freeze-frame thing to happen. I used the pen tool to do the actual cutting. And actually, I was lying that the first thing we need is the proper gif part because you’ll want to prepare for this freeze-frame step before doing anything else. To make your life as easy as possible, select in advance what your last frame will be and duplicate that layer. Then, when converting to Smart Object, leave it out and just drag with the Smart Object itself. Like so:
On that second one you can see that I move the single frame to the very end so it just stays like that once the clip ends. We can then cut Santana out, or rather cut around her.
Once we cut our character out, we apply the “comic book” filters and play around until it looks good. In Photoshop, the filters look like this on my gif:
I usually just copy these as they are to new comic book gifs I make. The white outline you asked about is just a stroke applied to this cutout and then black and white and other adjustment layers are applied as they would be to other elements of gifs. Layer 4 copy is a duplicate of this (don’t let my lack of naming convention fool you) with a color overlay and nudged to the right.
As this set was inspired by this one, I kinda followed the example and nudged the main cutout a bit as well as making it a bit bigger. Compared to where Santana freezes on the original it looks like this:
And then I put on the color overlay layer as well, put a comic background behind it and do the text and its effects. We’ll get into those in a second, but broken down all these layers that appear at the end of the “normal” gif look like this when separated into three main parts:
For the red background, I just googled “comic book background” until I found the right one. Lots of googling involved when you see stuff like this in my sets. Same goes for the Rachel and Kurt backgrounds. This is the one I used for Santana, slightly adjusted for the gif:
I placed it so Santana was in the middle and the lines felt like they were “coming out of her”. And then it was the text and all its effects, arguably the hardest part.
The first element is a type of comic effect-thing, again found via google:
The devil horns and tail, again, googled, and placed on this new layer + with the bg:
The text itself was a lot of trial and error but it’s ultimately SF Comic Script Condensed with gradient, stroke and drop shadow effects. Or, well, with “just” those and some rise warp text applied it’d look like this:
I was looking into how to turn text into a 3D sort of effect in a simple way in Photoshop and probably struggled more than I should have. It’s been a while so I don’t fully remember, but basically there’s a duplicate layer under Snixx Attack nudged to the right to create that final look. IIRC it was duplicating and slightly moving the layer and then combining all duplicates into one, and applying the following effects:

That bottom layer is a few nudge and duplications merged and with the effects above on. On its own, it doesn’t look appealing but with the OG text I’d like to think it achieves what vision I had in my had.
It’s a similar process with Rachel and Kurt, just different scenes of course and different logo/text. The hardest part was figuring everything out with Santana and then recreating the process two more times was quite fun, experimenting with different things. I won’t upload all the files used for those two but you get the idea, googling around and combining images.
With Kurt’s unicorn, again I googled “unicorn” and did some effects on the best png I could find
I know I sped through some things and apologies I’m only answering this now. Please let me know if I need to clarify anything. Ideally this would have been a better tutorial but lack of time and a need to let you know this was more than okay to ask prevailed. I hope it is helpful though and again, happy to answer further questions.

iiiiiiit's mogai month! y'all know what that means!!
as some of you guys may know, july is mogai month! which means, as a respectable member of society, i've gotta do my part to make this one great. therefore... 31 days of mogai! let's go!

“hey i’ve been looking for you!” y/n shouted to the boy sitting in the sand, camera in his hand capturing the waves crashing around.
“couldn’t miss the view.” hyunjin answered when y/n sat next to him raising her knees to her chest.
it was the last night at the beach house hyunjins mother owned in jeju. 4 days until they were split up off to university.
hyunjin and y/n had never been apart ever since they were little. being the same schools throughout their life, living in the same street spending every hour of every day together.
so it was no surprise when they were both accept to the same uni.
they’d be back into town with jiha and seungmin for a few days before driving down to busan.
but jisung and chan would be departing in a few hours to australia for a record deal.
it was heartbreaking for her, not knowing when she’d see her friends again.
“im gonna miss home.” hyunjin sighed making her lose her thought.
“same, imagine how ji and chan are feeling right now.”
the sun was setting, no wonder hyunjin couldn’t resist being here it was beautiful.
it reminded her of when they would be playing in the sand until late when they were brought to jeju for holidays when they were younger.
“this reminds me of when we were little.” hyunjin looked over to her. his face was lit by the golden hour.
usually dark brown eyes turned a sort of hazel colour and long blonde locks lightly blowing away from his face.
“yeah, like when i tried to teach you how to swim.”
“more like tried to drown me.” y/n scoffed pushing him away from her.
both of them sat in silence, admiring the sky in front of them.
the peace was amazing. living with jisung and hyunjin for the past 11 days meant the rest of the house didn’t get much of it.
it was nice to be quiet for the first time in a while.
“hey bitchy and whiny!” the two turned when the silence got interrupted.
it was seungmin walking up to them. how could they have guess by the lovely choice of names.
“ji and chan are leaving now.” y/n stood followed by hyunjin.
“jisung and jiha called it off.” seungmin announced walking back. hyunjin and y/n we’re shocked. they had been together since early high school so to hear this was heart dropping. “so don’t meantion it, jiha is crying in her room.”
jisung and chan were standing by the door their suitcases packed and ready to leave.
she were pulled in by chan first while hyunjin and jisung had their moment together.
him and jisung had been stuck together since they were 12. he was the first boy friend hyunjin actually made. well first friend he made other than y/n.
so seeing him leave to go become a big producer scared hyunjin.
jisung was a cocky bastard, what if he came back as a new person? hyunjin needed to stop worrying his friend would never do that.
“don’t forget to facetime me about your uni.”
“you own me a studio tour then.” y/n joked to chan as he let go.
jisung walked up to her. her and jisung were never that close even though ji and hyunjin were so close.
he looked down at his feet before pulling her in tight.
“thank you so much.” he cried out.
y/n was confused. “for?”
“everything. introducing me to jiha, helping me find my love for music if you didn’t show me got7 i don’t know if i’d be leaving today. seriously i know we weren’t close but i love you so much.” he pulled back wiping his eyes. “keep hyunjin sane for me please.” they both laughed.
chan and jisung got into the car picking them up and seungmin, hyunjin and y/n watched them drive away.
they all looked at each other. seungmin sighed walking away. “y/n i think you’re the only one who knows how to cheer jiha up.” y/n nodded. she didn’t want to go talk to jiha. she’d do it tomorrow.

November Gamedev Progress
AHhhhhhh! Another month over!? I have no idea where it went :(

Calander
Changed the total number of Months from 13 to 12, added Seasons which last 3 Months. Seasons have weighted Weather so more Snow in the last one (Winter?), more Rain in the second one! (Spring?). Trying to come up with some other Weather events that wont be too disruptive. It was really foggy a few days ago so now I wanna try and code that X'D
Saving/Loading
This is the big one, what I spent most of this month working on;
I've set up a Save/Load system! I'll slowly give all the different major objects their own part but currently I've got Trees/Grass/Rocks/some system stuff all being recreated correctly in a loaded world!
So in this gif I start a game, save (note the debug come up), quit to title (lacking a title XD), then start a new game; it's a different map!
Then I quit again and load the saved world! <3 <3 <3
Got the first batch of Buildings stored! Buildings that Craft Items and those that Convert them all set!
And also Benches and their tops work! This was an extra bit of challenge, since instead of just replacing a Bench with say the Distiller, I update it with a SubType, so I've added a check and a loop to the load code. If it creates a building with a SubType it will do a second go of the Creation code and it gets upgraded to a Distiller!
There's still more to do with the Save system, I've been taking it slow to ensure that I don't mess anything up. Saving the customisation of Buildings that are made out of multiple parts like Houses is gonna be a challenge. I have an idea of how to do it, it's just getting it to work will be a pain.
Also saving the ownership data, say for a Goblin and it's Home/Work, or a Pet and it's Nest. I can't save the object ID between games so I'll have to use the object type and it's coordinates.
LAST MINUTE ADDITION!
Got Buildings Saving their Carpets/Rugs, should be able to store the Wall/Floor colours and Building Part placements (like Beds) the same way! But I am tired, and hungry, so maybe for next months update? :S
Bugs
LOADS of little fixes here and there, such as;
Fixed a bug were Item shadow's were clipping underneath flooring and snow.
Snow and Flooring now use the -bbox_top so they have a lower depth priority, and I added an offset to Item's depth (forgot I had to add it to the bounce code!)
Fixed a bug where Dry Grass wouldn't be recreated when Loading a game.
Fixed a bug where Dry Grass wouldn't spawn on Beaches.
Fixed a bug where loading a game would make fully grown trees sprout a new one each time you loaded.
Fixed Tall Grass not spawning in Swamp Biomes.
Updated the Culling System to properly cull Buildings that are made out of multiple parts, previously it just didn't cull them. Now when the main part gets culled all the other parts get culled into a part list that later gets checked when the master is unculled. Getting this to work with the Save/Load system though is gonna be a PAIN!
Fixed a bug where Houses would move when you saved and loaded :S
Visuals
Set up Flooring to give you a slight visible y offset, so it's like you're actually standing on something higher!

Swapped the offset on Paving for one on Flooring, and adjusted the Depth on JUST Flooring, so now you can stand behind the raised floor! :D
Got Snow set up for working on Roofing, noticed some issues with my Roofing autotiling, so I think I need to remake that from scrap. :(
OK! Scrapped that Roofing because the thinner sections were giving me a massive headache trying to autotile. Made a much simpler one which was about all I could draw without tearing my hear out or the mouse out of the computer.
and it also works with snow!

Might need to adjust the height a bit more, so trees and the statue don't clip through?
Adjusted the offset for drawing roofing, and changed the Create/Destroy selector to more accurately show that you are over roofing, looks better to me.
I also extended the height of the extra bit of Roof drawn on lowest so it connects with Walls, I might change that and instead put it as part of the Wall itself so it's like the wall is taller?
Lighting
I keep messing with them, I think this is better? Did some rework with how darkness works and layered up all lights so there's three levels of brightness from each source.

okayyyy more. revisting 03s version of the 'leonardo #1' aka 'leo fights all those dudes in the rain' aka 'leo vs that damn window' aka 'one of wifis fav moments of the "i want episode were he pass away not because i hate him because i love him" variety'...
At this point i have seen. as fair as i know EVERY version of that specific moment. 90s movie (its raph actually!), 03, 12, mirage and idws (both incredible. i believe eastmans layouts for mirage, stunning. and soph. campbell art on the idw one. so EMOTIONAL). oh and its in the mobile game on apple arcade too. yeah.
and in my mind, 03 a lot of legs up, you get motion over still image for action heavy scenes, animation over live action for less physical limitations on the action, and 2d over cg, which specifically for the relavant eras on tv budgets, helps tune in the colour pallet and textures. is dark and its raining, can you can really see both. cool tone pallets and rain that just poors down the characters skin. at least in the close up shots. lol.
BUT i will admit. and oh i am not usually this person. like. kids/all ages media is gonna be the way it is. its silly to expect it to be otherwise. I WAS. a little struck. by feeling the absence of really heavy hits. like. he cant KILL people. its 4kids.... but as their throwing ya know. waves of enemies, and just using the stock animation attacks and cut away techique. its a little diminished. now it still has the escalation of stakes, gives you that sense of pronglonged exhausting battle, lets you feel both leos skill and when hes in too deep. just the composition/choreo leaves a little wanting.
THAT SAID. it IS a 2 parter. the adaption of the leo micro is part one. issue 11 is part 2. AND. OH i found out where they put all the animation! Its here. NOW this. pretty much makes complete sense when youre not me who just got sicko focused on the endurance sad boy test...
the second half is of course where you have ALL of the characters getting in the mix, an established set piece location of aprils apartment and shop. and you know, time for THE SHREDDER. to actually get in the mix. and not just get his guys to do the work. the difference is kinda wild.
you have a lot of really specific locational fighting, not cuting to the action lines background. constant awareness of where all our players are and what their doing. and when the turtles fight the 'elite guard', (about as literally as you can get to, they are mini bosses). i was thinking. Hey is this rotoscoped? cause something about the form factor of the characters, the heft of their movement, and the full body mechanics of the fighting. it feels so night and day. super impactful and very cool to see.
also what we call. casey with the good hair. instead of the flat middle part hair, they draw him with a bit of volume, some wavy texture... it really gives the impression he JUST tried a new conditioner thats really working for him... its not really here nor there. fun tho.
so. as much as i will silently morn not getting a rise leo no 1 moment (hell they could make it raph again. why not). just cause. god could you imagine? or any of the other newer animations... if you let the batturtles team do it they could get some brutality.. or if they do it in the mm show... shit.
I AM still, getting appreciation for 03 playing the beautiful game, of how you work your stories around animated tv show restrictions. just the previous arc, notes from the underground, has so much unique style of lighting, and one other shot that really stuck out to me. just the turtles repelling down a cliff, arms out front and behind, walking basically, straight down. Its necessarily such an awkward gesture, but it looked really nice, just for a short little transitional shot. respect.

Finished the available episodes of Technoroid Overmind. I have some thoughts.
The characters are very charming, and the show leans into the notion that they are literally programmed to represent their character archetypes, which is a fun little narrative conceit instead of just “here is a Tropey Friend Group.” The designs are interesting, if almost a bit too colourful? I like the show’s less extravagant take on future-fashion but sometimes the overall palette is eye-strainingly bright. Also props to the writers(/mangaka? idk if it’s an adaptation) for committing to a gnc character in a way that isn’t made uncomfortable or weird - at least so far.
It maintains the balance I was hoping for, not leaving the robot-rights intrigue in the dust in favour of the Idol Origin Story plot. In fact, it ties the two together nicely and I have to admit I kind of didn’t expect it to. The first couple episodes frame those plot threads as very distinct, but they do come together to become very intertwined. I think I see where some of what has been set up is going to lead, and I’m looking forward to seeing if I’m right. (Although I feel like some of the connections that could have used a slow-reveal are outright spoiled/given away in the intro? So there’s less payoff than maybe there could have been.)
I’m a huge sucker for AI/robot-rights stories and that component is quite good, there are moments that are genuinely very affecting. It’s making me miss my old Eclipse Phase party. Also, if you’re watching it, strap in when you get to the episode about the cat. No spoilers. but it’s gonna get you in the feels.
Also yes I have to be a parody of myself and specifically mention Lt. Bora bc I’m sure people who know me want my honest opinion there. He’s a flawless soulless husk of a machine and I love him for it. A+ design, handsome voice, devotion to his position at once verges on both comedic and unsettling. Kind of wish they let him be a minor antagonist longer, but the turn is very good. Other than that, no notes. Perfect mechanical bean, I’ll take 12.
Looking forward to seeing where this one goes!
