"no...this doesn't seem good" i sighed as i took an Eraser and deleted some drawing, today i have planned to go out today with Chaeryoung since it was a long time since we had a date and since i had some time before our date, and I was ready so i have decided to continue my drawing i started a while ago of Chaeryoung.

i only started drawing in the Start of the Quarantine when boredom was really common in the day so i have decided to learn to draw as hobby, and even though it has been a year or so i am not that good it is something i enjoy doing once in a while.

"Y/n!" I heard my mom's shouting from downstairs, as i got up i took my Sketch book from my shelf and headed downstairs. And as i walked down i saw chaeryoung looking at me with her cute smile, her Brown and silky hair slightly hid her gorgeous brown eyes, she was also wearing a beret, she was also wearing a plain white dress, she was also holding a Wooden basket which inside it had some food

"its been a while huh" Chaeryoung said with a cute smile she always wears when we are together as i just laughed a bit and hugged her.

"aw you two are so cute together" my mom said as she took a picture of us without noticing and looked at me with a smile of a proud mom seeing her children being nice to each other, "so where are you going for your date?" she asked both of us

"we thought about just hanging at the park together, just some casual picnic" i replied while i took from the fridge 2 water bottles and gave one to Chaeryoung, "we are going now, i will come around dinner" i said as i gave a hug to my mom as we got outside and walked straight to the park, with my hand in Chaeryoung's hand.

"so...how did you spend your time in home? You know, with all of that quarantine and stuff?" Chaeryoung asked me, as she looked at me with a cute smirk

"uhhh....Nothing much, just being bored at home" i lied, i did want to tell her initially about me learning to draw trough YouTube videos but i did want to keep it as a surprise for another date. after a couple of minutes of walking, and we finally found our place we decided to do our picnic, it was near a big Tree which me and Chareyoung used to go to a good amount of dates together before the Pandemic had started

"this is a great spot we picked" she said as she spread the Mat on the grass and in the meanwhile i opened the Basket, inside there was a couple of Sandwiches Chaeryoung has made for us and inside there was also some fruits Like Apples and Bananas, "Bon appétit" she smiled as we both started to eat the sandwiches .

"wow they are so good" i said, smiling after tasting the Sandwiches, for the meanwhile we just did what A couple does, as she looks at me with her Adorable smile which i couldnt resist, a thought suddenly came into my head. "Chaeryoung...can i show you something?" i asked her as i tapped her shoulder

"uh sure, what do you want?" she said, i just took from te bag my drawing notebook, she did look a bit confused but her face changed 180 degrees as she saw what i showed her. it was a drawing Chaeryoung's smiling and even though in my opinion it wasnt that good since it  wasnt completely ready, chaeryoung was just sitting there with her mouth wide open.

"is that...me?" she asked as i just nod my head in agreement, suddenly she grabbed the notebook from my hands and started skimming it, after the drawing of her there were some basic stuff i drew like trees, some animals and i did tried to draw a Scenery of a forest, but based on her laugh i knew she saw how i drew the sky which was not that good, "Wow Y/n you draw so good, how much time did you work on those?" she asked

"well...i started around the start of the pandemic, since i was really bored my mom suggested to me to try something new, so i started learning to draw from videos, though i don't really consider myself that good" i replied, quite surprised to see the positive reaction to my drawings,

"well i think they are fantastic, though...is ok if you will draw me again? " She asked with a smile and even added her pout,  but i already gave up and accepted her request so i just took the notebook from her hands, got my pencil and an Eraser from my bag and started to works when suddenly she stopped me

"wait let me pose for you" she said jokingly as she just laid down on the Mat with her face looking directly at me.

"you're really going to take this seriously ?" i asked her as she just replied, so i just rolled my eyes and started drawing her, “you know... i think it's good at least someone knows this side of me” i said to myself

Chapter 9: Red Fire

In the middle of a dirty road a blue BMW 3 series belonging to Jonathan Norbury was surrounded by at least half a dozen of agents, when Hardy arrived however they couldn't tell him anything important, except that the suitcase was neatly packed and had some documents inside.

"Something in the glove compartment?" He asked one of the guys that was classifying the findings.

"A two way train ticket to London, tuesday at 9:00 am and back Sunday at 5:00 pm" he start, and showed him the evidence bag, "Condoms, a lighter, and some spare change" He listed and he momentarily observed the bags, and a small black tube call his attention.

"What's that?" He said picking it up and examining the object "Give me a pair of gloves"

He opened the bag and take out the cylinder, it was a lipstick he opened and could see the worn out product of a bright shade of red. And he looked at the cap one more time, it had engraved "My Goddess" over the brand logo.

"Big spender huh?" The agent said.

"What do you mean?" Harford said looking as puzzled as Alec at the lipstick.

"It's a Giorgio Armani lipstick, in the shade Red Fire but it's personalized, you can ask for engraved gifts in that brand, it's quite expensive" He look a little embarrassed by their even more curious look "My daughter makes YouTube videos" He said trying to explain himself "I listen to what she says and help her buy stuff" and then in a professional voice he add "It was under the passenger seat"

"Well, make sure is classified and don't take it home, is not your tone anyway" Harford said trying to joke with the officer and hide a proud grin when Hardy hide a small laugh.

SOCO Brian Young was enjoying lunch with his girlfriend, and even when her mind was still on the case she was trying to be polite enough to have a light conversation with him.

"Have you thought of what I asked you?" He said after the waiter left their food on the table, it was a nice quite terrace, but Ellie's mind was somewhere else.

"Ahh yeah, I have" she said a bit blindsided by the question "Look Brian... I have loved our time together and I know it makes sense to move in together..."

"Move in together?" He asked trying to sound surprised by her remark, preventing the upcoming disaster "No, I meant of spending next weekend away on the City,I mean you are going to need a break and I'm sure Tom will like it"

"Oh" She sighed in relief "Sure, I mean I hope this is clear by then, but I will love too, I'm sure my boys will like it" She was about to add something about his other proposal but then the reflection of a pair of sunglasses caught her attention "Would you excuse me just a second I have to use the bathroom"

He nodded and watched as she walked away thinking that maybe it was for the best to give her more time if that meant more chances to get the answer he hoped for. Because besides everything he was in fact falling in love with her.

"Excuse me, madam." Ellie said to a woman that was fixing her make up in the mirror "Are you the principal from Broadchurch Primary School?" She said politely, not entirely sure about what had driven her to speak up.

"Yes, I'm Annabel Saunders, pleasure to meet you" She was an older woman probably in her fifties, yet she had a proper way of talking, and a slightly Scottish accent "You are Ellie Miller, Mother of Thomas, I remember you from a few years ago. How can I help?"

"I'm so sorry to ambush you like this, but I was wondering about one of your employees, Miss Y/L/N, and what could you tell me about her, when was the last time you saw her?" She said.

"Well last Friday of course, she ask me permission to leave early, poor thing, had a terrible headache, I suggest to take her home but she said a friend was picking her up. And since she had to work the weekend with the elderly and the troublemakers I left her go, who could have thought of what was coming to her?" She said changing completely Y/N recollection of the facts.

"So you didn't saw her last Sunday?" Ellie asked trying to not sound alarmed.

"Oh no Detective, some of my personal works the weekend with special classes for the old, or to regulate their students. But I'm not always present. I'm sorry is that important? I have her assistance card at the school, you can go look at it, I'm heading there" She said and Ellie nodded yes, before going away to make an gave a hurried excuse to Brian.

Mark Latimer was playing with Lizzie and Freddy in backyard, while Beth took pictures on her cellphone, it was simple and beautiful domestic pleasure, one that you never got to experienced, and now you'll never will, your mind said and the tears fight to cloud your view again.

It was curious, you haven't make your mind about the kids thing, but Jonathan did, maybe it was another excuse to keep you inside of the house, but maybe you wouldn't mind to have a beautiful baby with his eyes... no you couldn't keep like that, you centered your attention in thee dishes that you offered to wash since your stay had been prolonged now that detective Hardy haven't found somewhere else for you to stay.

Alec Hardy, you have listened to him screaming trough the door in Dr. Florence waiting room the Wednesday of the previous week "AND YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO KNOW ABOUT MY SEXUAL LIFE OR MY FAMILY" but it wasn't his fault, therapy could be a nerve wrecking experience.

Nevertheless you couldn't forget the first time you saw him. It was Sunday after the bar incident, and you made an appointment with the shrink to calm down Jonathan and for Ashley sake.

He was there wearing a cozy navy blue sweater, it was nicer than his usual suits, but he was too focus pretending to read a magazine to pay attention to you. Not like you wanted him too, but since he had picked Freddie a couple times at the primary school you have been curious about what could be so sad in his life to have that expression on his eyes.

It was finally your turn, and you stand up to get inside, maybe the sudden movement made him react but for a brief moment his eyes were on you and you couldn't help it and gave him a smile, and he take you by surprise smiling back. But before he could say something Jonathan was already arguing with Dr. Florence to get inside.

He was like that when he cared about something, ridiculously obstinate, like with his electronic shop, when he spend two weeks building some benches for the church, and wanting to marry you against his mother wishes...

"Shit!" You had press a wine glass to tight and it broke in your hand making a cut on your palm, and the blood began to spurt rapidly, it was so red, like Jonathan's blood in your wooden floor, like his shirt... who was that?

You tried to found a paper towel to stop the bleeding, and suddenly a succession of memories invade your head, he was wearing a red shirt and smell like bourbon and coke, he smiled at you at the club... bur you couldn't place his face, and then Jonathan was screaming at Ashley at home, it was all your fault.

And now he was dead, that was also your fault, You did this a voice keep saying in your head, No I didn't, I didn't, please stop saying that... you keep repeating it, but the voice screams louder, and the pain in your hand is growing, the memories begin to swirl in your head, the letter the two pages crumbling in your hands, Jonathan's car, where have you left it? And you couldn't keep this thoughts from coming to your mind, and your inner voice was not strong enough to make them stop so you had to scream.

"IT WASN'T ME, I DIDN'T, I SWEAR I DIDN'T DO IT"

1. Do you remember the episode/scene/chapter that you first started shipping 6?

I think the episode where they and Catra go on a mission together to find First Ones tech on the polar region? They were so lovely together, all excited about the mission, casually touching each other (which is kind of a big deal given that Entrapta is canonically autistic and does not really like to touch people and Scorpia seems autistic to me too). Though I can’t really pinpoint the exact moment, but they were my first ship for this show

2. Have you ever read a FanFiction about 2?

Oh yeah! It even was among the first fanfiction I ever read and what got me into reading fanfiction. Thought looking back there is definitely to less fic about them.

3. Has a picture of 4 ever been your screen saver/profile picture/tumblr?

No, but only because this was one of my earliest ships where I didn’t had tumblr yet, and I am very private about showing my fandom live openly on something like my phone or computer background. But that does not mean I do not love them.

4. If 7 were to suddenly break-up today, what would your reaction be?

Not surprised. At all. I mean they don’t really like each other in the first place; there are one of these ships I ship because its sexy and their dynamic is interesting, not because they would be good for each other.

5. Why is 1 so important?

Oh my, I could write an whole essay about that. In fact, I did an 30 min long Youtube video about that. But in short, its is both how respectful they are to each other and that they genuinely like each other, and how rare it is to see two disabled people not only being written well but also find love with each other and manage to help each other trough their internalized ableism (I think you don’t know that series, fandom-star: Entrapta is canonically autistic and its the best portrait I ever saw, and Hordak is physically disabled, some sort of muscle atrophy among other things)

6. Is 9 a funny ship or a serious ship?

They are enemies on two sides of a civil war between their Castes, who seem to have some past together, so definitely serious.

7. Out of all of the ships listed, which ship has the most chemistry?

I think L’Rell/Cornwell. They had only two scenes together and made me and many, many others, including the actors, ship them. I also think all mentioned Delenn-ships have insanely strong chemistry, but I seem to be the only one thinking that. And I don’t know if Entrapta and Hordak have really chemistry or something more awkward, more honest, but they did have an interesting dynamic right from the start

8. Out of all of your ships listed, which ship has the strongest bond?

I can’t decide between Entrapta/Hordak, Delenn/Lennier and Data/Geordi. Entrapta broke trough an space-anomaly induced amnesia in a “perfect world” just from hearing Hordaks name, and he remembered her trough two times brainwashing. Delenn and Lennier have this vow of “I’m yours forever. Heart, Body and Soul” and she says he is the rock on which she stands and without whom she would stumble and fall. Data and Geordi served on one spaceship together for years and managed to get trough so many catastrophes together.

9. How many times have you read/watched 8’s fandom?

Surprisingly less, since its not that old a fandom. Only two times I think?

10. Which ship has lasted the longest?

Delenn/Lennier. I think I shipped it for nearly five years until the fandom just got to toxic

11. How many times, if ever, has 2 broken up?

I think never, because they are not the type to break up easily, as they were finally a couple.

12. If the world was suddenly thrust into a zombie apocalypse, which ship would make it out alive, 2 or 8?

I think both are strong contenders, since L’Rell and Voq are both Klingons who know how to survive and fight, but through Datas android strength and no need to eat and all the useful functions of Geordis visor I think Data and Geordi would have an advantage.

13. Did 5 ever have to hide their relationship for any reason?

I think the humans would not have been to happy for Delenn taking an nerdy, much more younger priest as her lover? And I think at the beginning they were very insecure about how people would react to their relationship after the oh so perfect and charismatic Sheridan

14. Is 4 still together?

In canon they never got together, but if they ever did, I think they would stay together. Both of them would need therapy for their own reasons, but they would stay together.

15. Is 3 canon?

No, sadly not. Even if the actresses loved it and Mary Chieffo (L’Rells actress) even was the one to coin the ship name

16. If all 10 ships were put into a couple’s Hunger Games, which couple would win?

Either Data and Geordi for the above mentioned reasons or Delenn and Neroon, because Neroon is one of the best warriors in the whole Warrior Caste and Delenn can use a fighting staff too, and is cunning, sly and ruthless.

17. Has anybody ever tried to sabotage 10’s ship?

Canon. Canon and fate did.

18. Which ship would you defend to the death and beyond?

Well... I actually did that with Delenn/Lennier. The Babylon 5 fandom is the most toxic I was ever in, but I loved them to much to be able to leave. I was attacked, gaslighted and bombarded with a hate blog and meta of how wrong they are when Delenn/Sheridan is right there and has just as many problems as well. But they were part of me so I fought. Tried to concentrate on the positive. But since the fandom is so toxic that was not really possible. Somewhen I realized that no ship is worth to sacrifice my mental health for, no matter how important and how much I saw myself in it. It is fiction. It was not worth my live. That hurt, but it was necessary. I am so much happier now that I am not in the Babylon 5 fandom anymore.

19. Do you spend hours a day going through 1’s tumblr page?

I do. But thankfully, and finally, finally, it is an popular ship so I could just follow a lot of people who ship it too and there is always new art and meta and fic for it, its amazing. It is such a heaven after Babylon 5, even if there are of course some antis, but so much lesser.

20. If an evil witch descended from the sky and told you that you had to pick one of the ten ships to break up forever or else she´d break them all forever, which ship would you choose?

I think L’Rell/Voq. They are cute, but they don’t represent anything and I love several other ships much more.

PURE FLUFFFF AN: so this is my second shot that ive ever writte, so is shit. I just wanted to write this idea that has been in ky mind for so long. Sorry for any mistakes, I speak Spanish, ok that's alllll.

Been in a relationship with one of the biggest YouTubers was something out of this world. Yo met David through Matt, a friend of yours since childhood, you were invited to his 22nd birthday party three years ago, since then you’ve been inseparable. People started to ship the two of you and you really didn’t mind at all, you kept it going with it for the vlogs, until the day he got his wisdom teeth removed. You took care of him, and he being all out of him confessed that he liked you. Everything was kept only for you and the group in the begging, but after your six month anniversary you decided to finally make it public. To your surprise the majority of his fans actually liked the relationship you two have. After a few years of ups and downs he proposed to you. it was honestly something you never thought it would happen so quickly. You were in New York for your birthday. It was amazing, you stayed near Central Park and explored the whole city. David always by your side, walking on the busy streets, and enjoying the company and everything you did. 

The last night you stayed he said you were going out to have dinner, you went to the prettiest restaurant ever, it was in the top flor of a giant building. “David, this is amazing” you said while walking to your table and watching the city at your feet. “Only what you deserve” he said back kissing the top of your head. You smiled to him at sat at your table. You ordered your food and talk for a few hours, when you were done and only the dessert was left, David went to the bathroom. The music form a piano started to travel through the air until it reached your ears. It was weird since all night the only thing you could hear was the noisy streets. The music of the piano made you turn your face to the door that lead inside the restaurant, only to found David walking towards you with a little black velvet box. Your eyes started to tear up a little. Your hands covering your mouth in disbelieve, a shy smile on David’s face while he went onto his knees and opened the little box. A tear when down trough your face and breathe became hard to you. “Y/N… a literally practiced this so many times in the mirror, but im speechless right now” you chuckled, “I love you, and I-I can’t believe I found you. You have no idea of how you make me a different person, a better one, and I honestly don’t know what would I do without you. I know sometimes is hard to keep up with all that happens but I know ill be lost without you, so that’s why I want you to be with me for the rest of our lives” You started to cry again, David took your hands on one of his, “Y/N would you make me the happiest man in the world and marry me?” You literally couldn’t talk so you nodded and bit your lower lip. David took the ring out form the box and put it in your finger. He stand up and pulled you to his arms, you hugged him back still tearing up a little. He took your hands back to his and talked again, “I love you and I can’t wait to spent our lives together” you smiled and kissed him. Your lips dancing with his, “I love you too”.

Eight months after the wedding you sarted to feel bad, nausea, pain, you let it passed. One David went back to Chicago for some business he had there, sou you stayed in L.A and made your life as normal. During the week you had an appointment with your doctor, normal checks ups. You started and drove there, on your way David called. “Hi baby” you answered. “Hey babe, I just called to say that ill back tomorrow morning” “Yeah I know, you’ve been bothering me all week long” “Oh, so you don’t miss me?” “No, not at all. I’ve been really relaxed. Not doing anything at all” “Im glad to hear that. Me and Stacey been all crazy” you laughed at his story. “I gotta go babe, I have an appointment, call you later” “Yeah its fine, im gotta go sleep. I’ll call you when I make it there” “Yes baby, love you” you hang up and entered the building. +++

“Everything is normal, you just have to take some vitamins and you’ll be okay” you nodded and sat up. When you were about to leave the nausea came back and ran to the bathroom, emptying your stomach. A nurse came after you and ran her hand in your back. You stand up and washed your mouth. The nurse asked you to come with her, and you did. She took you back to the doctor’s office and took some blood samples. “Are you ok?” The doctor said. “Yeah, I just been with nausea and pain this days lately. Its nothing” you said rubbing your forehead. The doctor nodded before talking again. “By any chance, can you pregnant?” The question took you back for a little but soon replied. “No, Im with birth control, haven’t stop in 4 years” you said. The doctor nodded again and explain you that all the symptoms you had were pretty similar to the pregnancy ones, you just went with it and waited for the results.

Back home you took one of David’s cameras out and put it in the island of the kitchen, adjusting it to you. You started o record.

“Hi guys. I know this video is going to be weird” you paused”I don’t know how to do this thing, David is the expert one” you smiled ”so… Im going to be pretty face forward. I went to the doctor today and” you bit your lower lip and gasped ”im pregnant” you let the air you didn’t know you were keeping out. A big smile appeared in your face and your eyes got watery. “To be honest I didn’t expect it, I’ve been in birth control for so long and never in my mind I thought I could be pregnant. David doesn’t know yet, I want to tell him tomorrow he gets home from Chicago. And I have an idea of how im gonna do it” you took the camera in your hands and started walking to the bedroom. So you know how David keeps doing all the stuff about his disposable camera. So he left some of them to be done before he went to Chicago and I picked them up today. So tomorrow” you sat on the bed” when he gets back I know he will like to see how the photos turned out, so im going to put this” you grabbed the printed ultrasound and showed to the camera ”in the bag with the other photos. I really wanted to do it like that, cause you know how much David loves all those videos” you smiled remembering when Josh told David that Page was pregnant” and im going to record it, cause I know he loves his clickbait” you paused taking everything that you happened in the last few hours. “I guess ill see you tomorrow”. +++

Before leaving to the airport to pick David up, you sited a camera in your room and the bag of photos on the bed. You started to drive and recorded with your phone two minutes before picking David. “Ok guys, so I left the house all done, a camera and the bag in the room. Im not recording with a camera right now cause he will definitely know something is up. So im just going to keep recording with my phone down and maybe he will record to” you said before putting your phone down still recording. You parked to the side of the street and met David. Opening the trunk he left his stuff in the back and sat next to you. “Hi baby” you said and kissed him. “Hi babe” he said hugging you. “Rough night” you chuckled looking at his under eyes. “I couldn’t sleep on the plane” he said while resting his head on the seat. “Im sorry baby, I’ll take us home quickly ok?” He nodded and slept till you got back. When you arrived David went straight to take a shower and you walked to the living room to update the video. “So David is taking a shower right now, im going to ask him if hi wants food and tell him that the photos are in the bed” you walked to the bathroom and knocked. “Yeah baby?” “Im going to Postmate something, you want anything?” “Yeah some chipotle please” he yelled. “Got it, oh by the way, I picked up the photos they’re in the bed” “Thanks baby”. You walked out of the room and stopped the recording, ordered the food and went to the kitchen. You opened your phone to see the camera through it. You sited another camera in the kitchen cause you knew he will come here when he saw it.

David entered the room changed and with a towel in his hand. He sat in the bed and opened the bag with the photos on it. The photos were in his hands, one by one being thrown in the bed after being examined by him. Photo of the whole vlog squad in a random party, some of his famous friends and some of you, he steered at them the longest a smile appearing every time you came to his view. He was just one photo away from the only thing that matters. Your hand covering your hand to stop the whimpers you didn’t know you were making, feeling the tears end at your hand, you cleared your face and waited. David threw the picture he had in his hands and looked down. His breathing stopped. Everything inside him stopped. He couldn’t believe what was in between his now shaking hands. A single tear started to roll down his face. He sat up and started to jog your way. “Y/N please tell me this is not a joke” hi said reaching the kitchen. Lucas woke up alone.

Eliott had left, again.

Although last night felt really good, this morning was another story. Now that his judgement wasn't clouded by his pulsing, teenage hormones anymore, Lucas immediately felt like an idiot. He shouldn't have given in so easily, he should've insisted they talked before jumping each other.

Yann won't be proud of him...

He wasn't proud of himself either.

He reached for his phone on the floor, lost somewhere in his pile of clothes from the night before and checked his messages.

[22:48] Basile: So. Did you fuck?

[22:50] Arthur: We left ten minutes ago, calm down...

The closer Lucas got to the kitchen, the louder the voices were. He could make out Mika's but the second wasn't Lisa - it was a guy's. Lucas groaned from the inside. Please let it not be one of Mika's hook up...

Lucas drew a breath when he was who was in his kitchen with his roommate. What the fuck. Eliott was sitting at the kitchen island with Mika, chatting over a cup of steaming tea. He was wearing a black tee shirt and a pair of sweatpants he must've found in Lucas's room - most likely on the floor, aka where all his closet lies.

Being seated facing the door frame of the kitchen, Mika saw him first. ''Good morning, Kitten! You didn't tell me you had an handsome man in your bed last night.'' Mika gave him a pointed look which Lucas ignored, blue eyes glued on Eliott.

He didn't leave.

Eliott twisted his middle, a smile forming on his lips when he saw Lucas and his infamous bedhead. He stood from his seat and crossed the floor, planting a kiss right on Lucas's lips, taking the brunet off guard. ''Slept well?''

Lucas opened his mouth but stayed inarticulate.

''Did you find him on Krindr like I taught you? Because I never saw that fine specimen on there and you know I'm always stalking the app.''

Krindr? Eliott was not some random guy who swiped right on a dating app and messaged him for a good fuck. Eliott was more than that. Eliott was the guy that made Lucas doubt his sexuality - something that had never happened before. He was the guy who he let his guard down for and played piano to for the first time in years. He was the guy who toyed with his heart and made him an emotional wreck over the past weeks but keeps falling back into his arms because he can't help it.

But, Lucas couldn't say that.

''It's almost eleven, don't you have work today?'' Lucas asked Mika, subtly yet bluntly kicking him out of his own kitchen.

''Yes, I do.'' Mika down the last of his tea and stood, grabbing his jacket from the back of his chair. ''There's rolls of condoms on my nightstand if you need more and, no fucking on the kitchen table. We eat on that thing!'' he reminded them and Lucas wanted the floor to swallow him. Why was Mika so embarrassing...

''So, you're on Krindr?''

Lucas groaned, pushing his face in his hands. ''Can we not talk about that.''

''Sure.'' He kissed Lucas's temple. ''What do you want to talk about, then? Oh, I know! What do you want for breakfast? Eggs? French toasts?''

Apparently, Eliott was the chief of the family. Both of his parents working late shifts, he had to fend for himself most of the time and, believe it or not, you get tired of eating take out every single day. So, thanks to YouTube cooking videos, he can flick a whisk.

Lucas decided on french toasts because he has a sweet tooth and he hadn't had some since his parents's divorce. It's not Mika who will cook him a delicious breakfast every mornings - cereals will have to do it.

Eliott took out all the ingredients he needed for the french toasts, listening to Lucas's indications of where the milk, eggs, sugar, bread, vanilla and cinnamon were at. Lucas had jumped up on the counter, watching as Eliott whisked everything into a large bowl. 

‘’You look so hot like that,’’ Eliott pointed, glancing at Lucas between two wrist flicks. ‘’Sitting on that counter, looking all soft and cute. It’s difficult to not break your roommate’s rule.’’

Lucas blushed and reached for Eliott, opening his legs to make room for him. Eliott got the message and walked over, responding to Lucas's neediness.

''I thought you had left when I woke up. I was alone-''

Seeing how needy Lucas was in the morning, Eliott regretted leaving the last time he slept over.

Eliott shook his head, leaning down to press his forehead against the brunette's. ''I'm not going anywhere. I told you, I'm done running away from my feelings.'' He closed the gap between them and felt Lucas smile into the kiss.

''I've wanted this for so long,'' Lucas sighed, a beaming smile on his lips. He hadn't been this happy in a long time...or, ever.

He dived in for another kiss, slipping his tongue between Eliott's parted lips and crossing his legs behind his waist, keeping him prisoner between his hold as he deepened the kiss. Eliott's hand slid underneath Lucas's navy tee shirt, feeling his smooth skin under his fingertips.

Their make out session was interrupted by Eliott's phone buzzed on the counter - the recipe long forgotten on his screen. He groaned and pulled away to check the device, quickly typing a reply.

Lucas pulled his eyebrows, pursing his lips. ''Is it Lucille?''

''What?'' Eliott put down his phone, frowning. ''No. I told you, I'm done with her.''

Lucas looked down. ''It's just, the last time you told me you broke up with her-''

Knowing where this was heading, Eliott returned to Lucas to clear things. ''Lucie and I are over, Lucas,'' he promised. ''I ended things for good with her before coming here last night. I can't have her control me like this. She's always monitoring my every actions and it's not how a relationship should be. I get that she cared about me but there's a line between caring for someone and monitoring them like some child. She was my girlfriend, not my mom.''

Lucas recalled hearing Lucille telling Eliott to slack on the beer at Daphné's party, right before they left. It was one of the reason Eliott wanted to leave the party, to breathe without someone snooping over his shoulder.

''When I told her about you, she laughed and said it was only a phase and that I was being delusional about liking a guy. She couldn't have been more wrong. I have real feelings for you, strong feelings. I-'' Eliott drew a breath, staring at Lucas intently. ''I have never felt something so strong for someone...ever,'' he said, baring his feelings and feeling more naked and terrified at the confession than last night when he was literally naked in front of Lucas.

''Me either and it kind of scares me...''

Eliott pressed his forehead against Lucas's. ''You have nothing to be scared of.''

''Last time you told me not to be scared you broke my heart and I don't think I could deal with another heartbreak,'' Lucas said with honesty.

Eliott felt his throat thicken, a lump of guilt forming. ''I'll take care of your heart this time,'' he promised, deposing a kiss right over Lucas's heart, filling Lucas's heart with warmth.

Their intimate embrace was broken when a familiar melody coming from the kitchen radio filled the room, catching Eliott's attention.

''This song.''

Lucas paid an attentive hear to the radio, recognizing this awful song. ''Are you kidding?''

Eliott shook his head, bopping his head to the melody, waiting for Adrien Gallo's voice to fill the kitchen.

''What did I do to deserve this... I just found the love of my life and it turns out he had shit music taste.''

''Uh?''

''First your shitty dubstep and now...this.''

''I'm the love of your life?'' Eliott repeated and Lucas blushed.

Oh no. Did he say that out loud?

''I didn't-'' he started but Eliott cut him, grinning.

''You said I was the love of your life. I heard you!''

Lucas rolled his eyes and Eliott kissed him. ''Say it again,'' he asked, pressing their forehead together. Lucas hummed. ''Say it again.''

''You're the love of my life,'' Lucas repeated, his voice so quiet and intimate, breathed only for Eliott to hear. He looked at Eliott trough his long lashes, his gaze so intense before Eliott went in for another kiss, this time slipping his tongue inside Lucas's mouth. Feeling Eliott stepping back, Lucas snaked an arn behind his neck, keeping Eliott there, stopping him from breaking the kiss.

It didn't last long though because Eliott smirked and started singing along to the radio, much to Lucas's annoyance. ''Une violente envie de descente lorsque t'embrasses ces gars. Je n'ferai point l'enfant, tout cela ne m'atteint pas.''

Lucas rolled his eyes at his cheesy behavior, laughing because he couldn't help it, already completely enamoured by this boy. He tried to steal a kiss from Eliott but he denied him.

''Des rumeurs adolescentes disent que je ne suis pas...'' Eliott trailed, staying in character as Lucas watched him finish the song with an intense look. ''Un homme à femmes et rien d'autre qu'un homme à toi.''

And, if Lucas found himself singing along, no one had to know.

Oh crap.... I don’t even know. Ed is amazing, the way he plays his guitar and makes the whole song work with just a loop pedal is unbelievable. 

I was in one of his concerts and I couldn’t even preocess what the fuck was going on: At some point the lights went out and I started squealing like crazy, and there, in the dark, the sound of his guitar made his way trough the speakers and when I finally saw that ginger hair over the thousands of heads that were in front of me I fucking lost it.  My chest vibrated with his voice and the chorus of people around me singing at the top of their lungs. (My voice was still husky two days after that). 

I’m not a sentimental person, but his songs are the only ones that have made me cry from the overwhelming feeling they transmit to me. 

Aside from that, he’s an amazing person and unlike many great popular artists, his chubby face is not involved in any kind of drama.

Closet Purge! - January 28th, 2018

Last night I did a MAJOR closet purge! I typically do this every spring, but decided to be extra rigorous this go around.

I've watched a lot of YouTube videos about minimalism and how other people downsize their own wardrobe, and many of them reference the "Kon Mari" method from "The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up" by Marie Kondo. I haven't personally read this book but essentially the jist of her method is to A. Sort through your belongings by category (not by room) and B. Pull EVERYTHING OUT. You then ask yourself "Does this spark joy to me?" Or "would I want this if I saw it in a store today?" for each and every item.

So this is kind of what I did with my closet. I took EVERYTHING out, and sorted out piles by category, i.e. jeans, graphic tees, shorts, pjs, etc. I then went through each category, asked myself the questions above and did the typical keep, toss, and maybe piles. Except for when I got through each category I went trough the maybe pile right away again before moving on the next category. I did this as an effort to not dwell on items in my maybe pile and after deciding to toss I moved on right away and did not look back at my toss pile.

In the end I wound up with a box of around 60-80 items of clothing, a bag of miscellaneous accessories, and a purse and two wallets in my toss pile. Which ended up being almost a third of my entire wardrobe. I think the hardest things to downsize was graphic tees and especially sweaters for me. I LOVE and live in sweaters, so I ended up keeping almost all of my sweaters but cut my graphic tee collection in HALF which was pretty hard to do. I did keep one small basket of "maybe" items. Mainly summery things that I'm just not sure about yet. So I definitely plan on going through my entire closet again mid summer. I also decided to keep one skirt that I LOVE but never wear to repurpose into diy reusable grocery totes! (Update posts to come on that and the mid summer purge in the future).

Overall I was pretty surprised by a few things through this process. First, I did not realize just how much I had until I took everything out. I knew it was a lot, but doing this really put it into perspective. Second, I was pretty surprised at how rigorous I was actually able to be.

I'd say my tips for downsizing your wardrobe is to definitely take everything OUT when doing this, be honest and strict with yourself on whether you really NEED the item, don't hang on to things that don't fit but think might fit some day, and once you make a decision do not look back or dwell on it. Another question I tended to ask myself is "do I already have this or something that serves the same purpose?"

Pictured is the final product of my closet, my tops pile, small maybe basket (along with a storage basket for summer shorts which I did go through), and the skirt I plan to repurpose! Any thoughts and opinions are welcome!

A glimpse into a jam-packed day! It was the day to discover the man island of Kalsoy. Woke up early enough, filled our tummies and we headed off to Klaskvik on the neighbouring island of Bordoy. It’s advisable to get to the ferry station early enough as the ferry only holds about 16/17 vehicles. The first row is for the citizens and the 2-3-4 for the tourists, buses, etc. We got in 2 hours prior to our departure time of 10 am. Got over to the island in less than 20 mins. Getting off the Ferry was quite something. The cars are lined in a very specific way as they are gestured in by the ferryman. The same way they are instructed in, they are instructed out.

Well, we were waiting for our turn but then this car lined parallel behind us decided he wanted to get out first. The ferryman gestured us to wait and started instructing this white Toyota out. When the car came neck to neck with us, we realized there was no driver in it. The ferryman noticed it at the same time as us. With his two hands holding the car in place, while his colleague went around looking for the driver of this white Toyota, he gave us a little head nod of disbelief. Of course, it was a woman!! I had predicted it, I am a woman, yes and I am going to say this. Women are the worse drivers ever. They won’t cause crashes but they will, however, cause daft mistakes that might lead to a blunder and they probably wouldn’t even know of the damage they caused coz they will be so oblivious. Miss Curley tops came down and finally turns off her engine and put her car in park! Our side-view mirror barely managed to live.. and we decided to stay the hell away from her and drove out, on our way over to to the village of Trollanes ( way up north).

Parked the car in the tiny village and hiked our way over to the Kallut lighthouse. The weather was treacherous and the hike fairly intermediate. let’s just say it kept us on our toes with the heavy winds either pushing us forward or pulling us back. We were at the lighthouse in less than 45 mins… couldn’t stay long as there was no point being slapped mercilessly by the winds. Enroute I met this black sheep, who by far is the most defiant little creature I met. Normally you can never get in very close proximity of sheep, I was convinced that he was blind as I was in touching distance – almost at an arm’s length from him. He definitely wasn’t blind as whenever I would extend my arm out to touch him or even gesture to touch him, he would move an inch backward but would never keep his eyes off me.

Clicked this picture right in his face, no zoom needed- he was quite brazen, or maybe it was me Afterall, I was the one visiting his territory!

We had a face-off and in the end, we both decided that it was enough time wasted at staring at each other. The lighthouse hike is lovely, it is short enough and keeps your focus all throughout as certain areas need your attention and skill. Way down was faster and of course easy enough and it was time to head over and say hello to the Selkie. The seal woman or the selkie is a steel statue of the seal wife, right on the Mikladalur harbor.

This is the story of the Selkie :

The legend of Kópakonan (the Seal Woman) is one of the best-known folktales in the Faroe Islands.

Seals were believed to be former human beings who voluntarily sought death in the ocean. Once a year, on the Thirteenth night, they were allowed to come on land, strip off their skins and amuse themselves as human beings, dancing and enjoying themselves.

A young farmer from the village of Mikladalur on the northern island of Kalsoy, wondering if this story was true, went and lay in wait on the beach one-Thirteenth evening. He watched and saw the seals arriving in large numbers, swimming towards the shore. They clambered on to the beach, shed their skins and laid them carefully on the rocks. Divested of their skins, they looked just like normal people. The young lad stared at a pretty seal girl placing her skin close to the spot where he was hiding, and when the dance began, he sneaked up and stole it. The dancing and games went on all night, but as soon as the sun started to peep above the horizon, all the seals came to reclaim their skins to return to the sea. The seal girl was very upset when she couldn’t find her skin, though its smell still lingered in the air, and then the man from Mikladalur appeared holding it, but he wouldn’t give it back to her, despite her desperate entreaties, so she was obliged to accompany him to his farm.

He kept her with him for many years as his wife, and she bore him several children, but he always had to make sure that she didn’t have access to her skin. He kept it locked up in a chest to which he alone had the key, a key which he kept at all times on a chain attached to his belt.

One day, while he was out at sea fishing with his companions, he realized he had left the key at home. He announced to his companions, ‘Today I shall lose my wife!’ – and he explained what had happened. The men pulled in their nets and lines and rowed back to the shore as fast as they could, but when they arrived at the farm, they found the children all alone and their mother was gone. Their father knew she wasn’t going to come back, as she had put out the fire and put away all the knives so that the young ones couldn’t do themselves any harm after she’d left.

Indeed, once she had reached the shore, she had put on her sealskin and plunged into the water, where a bull seal, who had loved her all those years before and was still waiting for her, popped up beside her. When her children, the ones she had had with the Mikladalur man, later came down to the beach, a seal would emerge and look towards the land; people naturally believed that it was the children’s mother. And so the years passed.

Then one day it happened that the Mikladalur men planned to go deep into one of the caverns along the far coast to hunt the seals that lived there. The night before they were due to go, the man’s seal wife appeared to him in a dream and said that if he went on the seal hunt in the cavern, he should make sure he didn’t kill the great bull seal that would be lying at the entrance, for that was her husband. Nor should he harm the two seal pups deep inside the cave, for they were her two young sons, and she described their skins so he would know them. But the farmer didn’t heed the dream message. He joined the others on the hunt, and they killed all the seals they could lay their hands on. When they got back home, the catch was divided up, and for his share, the farmer received the large bull seal and both the front and the hind flippers of the two young pups.

In the evening, when the head of the large seal and the limbs of the small ones had been cooked for dinner, there was a great crash in the smoke-room, and the seal woman appeared in the form of a terrifying troll; she sniffed at the food in the troughs and cried the curse: ‘Here lies the head of my husband with his broad nostrils, the hand of Hárek and the foot of Fredrik! Now there shall be revenge, revenge on the men of Mikladalur, and some will die at sea and others fall from the mountain tops until there be as many dead as can link hands all round the shores of the isle of Kalsoy!’

When she had pronounced these words, she vanished with a great crash of thunder and was never seen again. But still today, alas, it so happens from time to time that men from the village of Mikladalur get drowned at sea or fall from the tops of cliffs; it must, therefore, be feared that the number of victims is not yet great enough for all the dead to link hands around the whole perimeter of the isle of Kalsoy. In the evening we decided to explore the village of Leirvik, a neighbouring village to Nordagota which is where we are staying. Enjoying the ice cream and walking through the tiny streets admiring the Faroese way of living and discussing their charm and hospitality. Be gone: Chapter 2 - Sick

Entry post Chapter 1: The voice Word count: 680 Warnings: vomiting

Jack woke up. At first, he didn’t know where he was, but after a few moments he remembered everything. The voice, the pain, the agony… He was still lying on the ground in his room, the VR headset next to him. Jack could see red marks on the floor from his blood. He tried to stand up. He felt a dull pain in his arms and legs, his head ached and he had a funny feeling in his stomach.

Suddenly, he knew where that feeling came from: he found himself vomiting on the floor only seconds later. Luckily, he turned away from his VR stuff. His vision was still blurry, and he was feeling dizzy, but he could see that it had gotten dark outside. The clock in his phone showed 11.30 pm. He put the phone back into his pants’ pocket and slowly tried to walk. It worked, so he opened the door and went to the bathroom to get a mop. He had to clean up the floor. On the way out, he took a look at himself in the bathroom mirror: his eyes had gone back to normal, being crystal blue again. Apart from that, he looked like he had aged 20 years, his nose was covered in dried blood and his lips and teeth were dirty from the puke. He must have a horrible breath. He sighed and went back to his room to clean the mix of his tears, blood and puke on the floor. He could feel some of his energy return, at least enough to go back to the bathroom, take a good, long shower and brush his teeth. Suddenly, the fact that he didn’t upload videos today hit him like a bus. “Shit!” He rushed back to his room, immediately sat down on his chair and moved the mouse back and forth, so that the screen would switch on. It was exactly how he imagined: More than five thousand new comments on YouTube, Twitter, Instagram and Tumblr, all of them saying something like “Where are you? Why no new vids today??” Oh, god. Clarifying this mess is going to be fun. Suddenly, the dizziness returned. Jack felt like he was sitting in a rollercoaster. He saw things like trough a black curtain. And he heard the voice, louder than before: “I’m here. And I won’t leave…” As fast as this attack came, it left again. His eyesight cleared, his hands stopped shaking. But Jack was still shaking on the inside: What the hell was going on? What happened to him? He decided to do the clarifying on the next day. He was exhausted. Scared. Terrified. Confused. His entire body hurt. So Jack just briefly apologized on Twitter, switched everything off and went to bed. But what he did wasn’t really sleeping. Jack’s hopes, he could regenerate and forget the strange happenings for some hours weren’t fulfilled. He tossed and turned, while having terrible nightmares all night long. About voices. Pain. Agony. Death. But most of the time, he wasn’t even sleeping at all. Repeatedly, he woke up screaming, covered in cold sweat, afraid of falling asleep again. His heart was beating like a drum, and he was panting as if he just ran a marathon. Multiple panic attacks and adrenaline rushes made sleep a difficult thing to achieve.

When the sun rose, he was more tired than before, not having slept longer than two hours, but at least relieved about the nightmares being over. He decided to do something that he has never even thought about doing: he recorded a short video in which he stated being extremely sick, and therefore not being able to record and upload videos for a few days. He hated doing that, but he felt like he didn’t have much of a choice… and he really did feel sick. The majority of his audience took it relaxed, many people wished him to get well soon, and wrote him that the only thing he should be worried about was his health. But breaking his upload schedule still felt like a horrible thing to do, letting down his fans like this.

Why Horror Is Scarier With Weapons

Hey, folks. This is the script for my first video. I think I changed a few things here or there during the process of recording, but it should be pretty close. I've never done this before, so I'm kinda nervous, but I hope you enjoy it!

Our favorite games are often the ones that made us feel these really cool, powerful things. How’d you feel when you met your first Colossus or saw Rapture for the first time? I think the best games stick with us because everything about them, from mechanics to presentation, is all about crafting that perfect, powerful moment.

I’ve played so many games that fail to deliver that perfect moment because they’re focused on just one facet of the game, prioritizing one element or idea at the expense of all others.

But then there’s horror.

Horror is, in a way, the perfect genre. Practically every other genre is named after its mechanics--strategy, simulation, shooter, and so on--but horror, in contrast, is all about the experience. Everything in a horror game, from mechanics to sound to presentation, is all about crafting one specific emotion. What emotion is a role-playing game trying to create? I couldn’t tell you, but when I’m playing a horror game, I know that every part is working towards the same goal. This is what makes horror such a fascinating experience.

The problem, of course, is that horror, like comedy, is difficult to pull off because it’s so subjective. We’re all impacted by different things. Not only that, but each person’s personal understanding of ‘horror’ is different.

When Amnesia: The Dark Descent hit in 2010, it was a sensation. I can’t think of many people who didn’t love it. A tremendous improvement on Frictional’s previous work, Amnesia was a chart topper that didn’t just blow minds, it almost singlehandedly kickstarted the YouTube gaming boom and inspired a thousand clones. It was THE game that everyone wanted make videos about, showing themselves freaking out at the game’s many terrors.

In the game’s heyday, one key bit of praise stuck out to me. Practically everyone I knew said the same thing:

“It’s scary because you can’t fight back.”

Something about this has never sat right with me. Six years later, here I am, still thinking about that statement, and it feels just as wrong to me as the time I first heard it. Something about this just doesn’t work for me. As I think about all the horror games that have actually scared me, every single one of them featured a degree of combat.

Before we get started, though, let’s talk about what horror means.

Many people describe horror as that feeling of creeping dread before they see something bad happen. That’s a very powerful emotion, and I totally get the appeal, but there’s just one problem: that’s not horror, that’s a different emotion entirely. That’s terror. Terror is the gradually growing worry that something isn’t right, that chill down your spine as uncertainty grips you. Terror is worrying that you’re about to confront a monster.

Horror is confronting the monster.

If terror is the tense build-up, horror is the payoff. “Horror,” as a genre, then, is a combination of terror and horror. It’s a genre made up of these two complementary emotions, themselves composites of emotions like anxiety and disgust. When someone says they want “true horror” but refers to the creeping dread, what they want is terror, but terror and horror are two halves of the same whole. You can’t have one without the other.

Many horror movie directors use these two emotions to powerful effect. Alien spends a long time building up the terror before Ripley’s horrific confrontation at the end. Halloween runs for over an hour before Michael Myers attacks. Good horror spends a lot of time setting up the actual horrific experience.

But Halloween and Alien both run less than two hours. What about games?

The expectation is that games will last more than two hours. The audience expects a sixty dollar purchase to last a great deal longer than a twelve dollar movie ticket, and games have historically lasted significantly longer than films. Not only that, but the key to a game’s success is variety--you can’t do the same thing over and over with no payoff. All setup, no joke.

To put it another way, one cannot simply scale up the length of things. A great movie can go for a nice 60/40 split, 55 minutes of terror amplified by 35 minutes of horror. That same 60/40 split won’t work for a 40 hour game. 24 hours of terror followed by 16 hours of horror just won’t work. It gets exhausting. The least frightening horror games try to be nothing but terror with just a few seconds of horror, if anything. The pacing has to change.

Some games, like Alan Wake, take the episodic approach; each level is its own self-contained narrative, with its own distinct beats. Other games, especially open world titles, run the gamut of emotion; STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl has elements of horror, but it also features adrenaline-pumping action, melancholy, loneliness, disappointment, and so on.

For a video game to work, you need terror, then horror, then more terror, followed by more horror. The game becomes a roller coaster, with crests and troughs where appropriate. This keeps the game interesting without being exhausted; it keeps players interested while leaving them engaged. Scare players, sure, and then let them confront something horrifying, but tone it back down after that, give them room to breathe, let them start over.

Make sure it’s different every time, too--Resident Evil 4’s power comes from the variety of its encounter design. The emotional beats are similar, the roller coaster has its ups and down, but each up is a new up, and each down is a new down, and that’s why it works where so many other horror games fail.

Whether you have combat or not, based on every horror game I’ve played, length alone dictates that variety and phases of both terror and horror are required to create a complete package; you can’t simply stretch out the same emotion over a longer period of time.

This brings us to the first flaw in the “no-weapons” horror game argument’s armor. A great deal of these sorts of games try to hang on to that single emotion of terror too long--they want you to feel a state of constant, never-ending dread. The problem is that it’s exhausting; it’s why, I think, so many people want to laugh about it on YouTube. It’s hard to take that kind of fear at face value; it’s much easier to turn it into a comedy routine.

But even when weaponless horror games balance the ebb of terror and flow of horror flawlessly, they still lose my interest, and it’s because there’s no way to fight back.

Here’s the idea behind a weaponless horror game: vulnerability generates fear. If you can’t fight back, you’re more vulnerable, and therefore you are more scared. By reducing your options to simply run or hide, a horror game should be much scarier than one where you have a gun. It’s a catchy argument, and an easy one to take at face value, but there’s just one problem: it’s bogus.

The first mistaken assumption at play here is that fewer options make games scarier. The weaponless horror game strips the experience down. It’s all about terror and the only way of solving a problem is either run or hide.

The problem with that assumption is this: the key to great horror is uncertainty. Horror, especially in games, works when it’s dynamic. Something happens, which leads to a new action, but then a complication arises. Instead of mere escalation, a good horror experience is a series of actions followed by consequences that change our understanding of the situation.

Until Dawn has a wonderful misdirect about a character which leads to a discovery that complicates our understanding of the game. We thought we had to deal with one thing one way, but now we have to deal with something else in a completely different way. It still escalates, but not in a linear way. Until Dawn works because variety fuels interest.

The second, even more mistaken assumption of the “weapons aren’t scary” argument is that having a gun makes you feel safe. This couldn’t be further from the truth. Guns add variety to the game and capitalize on a key component of the adrenaline rush that fuels fear: the audience’s urge to fight.

Players with guns have to balance the desire between fight and flight. A weaponless horror game can only offer the player flight.

Not only that, but guns are not empowering. Sure, you could give the player a Frank West-sized arsenal and send him off to fight all the monsters you want, and it would be fun.

Even when the weapon is powerful, like the Smartgun in Aliens, it still serves the vital purpose of keeping the pacing interesting. One moment you’re scared, the next you feel relief as you start killing monsters. All too soon, the gun’s over, and you’re left with memories of that brief empowerment.

Pretty soon, you start to miss it. All you have now is a measly pistol. Fat lot of good that’ll do you. It’s okay to have moments without terror in a horror game. It’s okay to have moments of hope, because terror is that much stronger when your hope is snatched away. Moments of power accentuate moments of fear.

But weapons, especially guns, aren’t always means of power. There is no better foil in a horror game than a gun.

A well-designed weapon in a horror game complicates the decision-making process. It encourages you to come out of your hiding place, makes you question whether you should really flee. In a weaponless horror game, your options are clear. Having a gun makes you ask “can I take him?” followed by “but what happens if I can’t?” and “what if firing this gun alerts other monsters to my presence?” A well-designed weapon in a horror game isn’t an answer, it’s a host of questions. It’s a what-if generator.

A well-designed weapon in a horror game not only introduces uncertainty, it gets you into trouble. Consider the scariest moment in Alien: Dallas enters the Nostromo’s duct system to flush the Alien out, but the Alien takes him by surprise, and Dallas disappears. It’s a moment that only happened because the crew had flamethrowers and thought they could take the alien on.

It’s important to note that the crew was not emboldened by having the weapon; the flamethrower was not an implement of relief. It simply encouraged them to make a decision that cost them Dallas’ life.

Alien: Isolation, a direct game sequel to the film, starts off rough, but most people agree that it comes into its own after you get through the medical wing--or, put another way--most people seem to think the flamethrower makes or breaks the game, which makes perfect sense. Prior to the introduction of the flamethrower, any encounter with the alien is a simple case of run or hide, and the pesky Alien is programmed to always be somewhere nearby, so there’s no escaping for long.

The flamethrower grants you some breathing room, because it can cause the Alien to run away, if only for a moment. This enhances the emotional pacing of the game. Having a flamethrower also means you’re more likely to take risks, like Dallas did, which put you in far more vulnerable positions than you would be if you didn’t have a gun.

But then it does something else.

The early game is not particularly scary, because it’s a case of either hide or you die. Instead of fear for my first few hours, I felt amusement. Aww nuts, he caught me again. Ha ha.

Once I got the flamethrower, however, not only was I taking stupid risks, but I was constantly worrying about ammo. I was taking chances to get more, or I was panicking because I only had 100 ammo and I’d have felt a lot safer with 400.

It’s irrational, sure, that I felt more afraid with 100 flamethrower fuel than with 0, but having the gun meant worrying about inventory. Alien: Isolation was so much scarier when I had to keep an eye on my fuel gauge, when I had to worry about whether or not I could scare the alien off as my tank was running low. Stressing about my inventory made the game just that much scarier.

As if that weren’t enough, sometimes guns complicate situations because you can’t use them. One of my favorite moments in Aliens is when the crew descends into the alien nest but can’t use the guns they have. There’s this unique anxiety generated by knowing that the guns you have will only make things worse.

Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth is one of my favorite horror games because one of the levels gives you a gun, but you’re told not to use it, because you don’t have enough ammo to fight off everyone who arrives after hearing a gunshot. You have a gun, but now you’re terrified of accidentally pulling the trigger and calling down a horde of eldritch monsters on your head. The scariest thing in the level is the gun in your hand.

That’s what guns add to horror, but they have one other benefit.

In games, death means very little. It’s not really death, it’s a means of resetting a fail state.

Try, fail, die, try again.

Horror doesn’t work when you’re not in mortal jeopardy, and if you die frequently, then things aren’t so scary. Likewise, if a situation is predictable, then it loses any sense of risk.

I played a bit of SOMA on a friend’s account and found it boring because it was clear when the designers wanted me to be fearful as opposed to when they didn’t. The opening is creepy, sure, but it’s so blatantly artificial that a momentary startle is easily forgotten. You can stride with confidence through a level.

Having a weapon introduces a system of risk and reward. Instead of walking with confidence through an unconvincing haunted house, a weapon might help keep deaths at bay, reducing the frequency of death, and, as a result, preserving the intensity of the moment.

Losing resources like ammunition, which you wouldn’t have in a weaponless horror game, can make death sting that much more; early on in Alien: Isolation, death simply meant a do-over. Later, when the flamethrower meant it happened less, it mattered more, and the penalty was losing out on that brief bit of luck when you’d found that extra tank of fuel.

So yes, absolutely, weapons can make you confident, but that’s fine, because it makes horror that much better. Confidence leads to far more dramatic decisions. Weapons introduce uncertainty into your decision-making process, and then they complicate everything by giving you more things to worry about. They keep death from becoming rote; if anything, they give it weight. Weapons, especially guns, absolutely make horror games scarier.

I don’t expect you to agree with me, but I do hope I’ve given you some food for thought. Are there resources other than ammo that can be used? Do weaponless horror games really need to be so stale? How can a player be encouraged to make more interesting decisions than simply run and hide?

A weaponless horror game is often a simple one, a game where the only viable choice is to distance yourself from the act of play. Simply hiding in a corner, motionless, waiting for a monster to leave is not as dynamic as searching for ammo or trying to take out a bad guy so others won’t notice. There is no risk-taking. There is little uncertainty. A weaponless horror game relies on jump scares and waiting for jump scares to happen. A weapon means you might approach a monster and suffer the consequences. You might shoot at the monster with your only bullet and miss. Weapons benefit horror because they add variety to the horror experience; they broaden the emotional pacing of the game.

So what we’re going to do right now is we’re going to take the clothes off these candles and compare exactly what the gains were 36 days before the whole thing until the close of the day of the whole thing. And here we’re looking at approximately four point five percent gain. Thirty-six days before the whole thing to the day of the thing. You guys probably all know what happened afterwards. And that’s not going to be our main topic of today because, well, it is quite clear that after every hall thing, the bitcoin price was actually going up quite fast and quite strong, actually. But we are interested in what happened before the whole thing. And here we had a gain of approximately, let’s say, 4.5 percent. Now let’s move on to 2016. Now, in 2016, probably guys already figured from close to close here, 36 days before the whole thing we’re talking about, let’s say approximately 13 percent. So we have 4.5 percent gain and then thirteen point three percent gain. And for all those people who are saying right now, well, in 2016, the price plunged after the Bitcoin whole thing, which is to have to come out a little bit in here. And you guys can already see that. Well, even in here, it maybe took a month or two. And we also had a flash crash right here. But the direction of bitcoin was clear. So what we’re going to do right now is we’re trying to stay as realistic as possible for the current situation. And we’re going to take the average of 4.5 percent and thirteen point three percent for the current situation where we are right now. And that would be a price gain of approximately 9 percent. And well, this is not really a moon boy prediction, but that would take the price of bitcoin at exactly eight thousand US dollars at the day of the Bitcoin boffing in 2020. And also in the survey on yesterday’s video is asking people, what do they see more? This is sending triangle, which would be a bullish pattern. Here we have approximately 60 percent of the people agreeing with that. But we were also talking about the possibility of this rising, of this ascending in here. And 40 people see this as a potential pattern that is forming right now, which would be a bearish sign. So doesn’t matter. On Twitter, on YouTube, people are very indecisive about the bitcoin price right now. So, yeah, exciting times ahead of us, that’s for sure. But what we can definitely say is and those numbers are not lying is that people are looking up Bitcoin morphing once again. So people are getting excited about Bitcoin halving. People want to get informed about the bitcoin morphing and not quite sure how many people are new here. Probably not all too many. But also, you have to ask yourself the question, how many people who are already invested in cryptocurrencies? How many people who already know about bitcoin are Googling Bitcoin hopping right now? I’m pretty sure I’m pretty convinced that some of the people looking at bitcoin hovering right now, they’re new. They want to get informed about Bitcoin. And what do you think are they going to do when they hear about the inflation of bitcoin, especially with the current situation in the economy right now, with the fetches printing money, with the government doing helicopter drops and so on? This is definitely a very interesting and hot topic right now. And the closer we’re getting to the Bitcoin morphing and the more mainstream media attention we’re getting, the bigger the formal will get. So I’m personally definitely very excited for Bitcoin morphing, very excited for the Bitcoin price development. And I’m definitely looking forward to bullish times. I mean, of course, it can happen that we’re going to dump again. There’s not that much liquidity in the markets right now. There’s not even that much volume getting traded right now. I mean, we saw a little bit of an increase in volume over the last two or three days, but there’s not that much volume in the market. Aweil can still dump the bitcoin price, but overall, mid-term and long term, definitely a bullish event. And Google Trends is confirming that to me. And yeah, I think you can see the same picture in here as well. Now let’s go on lower timeframes. What we have seen yesterday or basically overnight was that break out in a year off this ascending triangle. We’re currently trading slightly below seven thousand three hundred U.S. dollars on Coinbase. The price of bitcoin went all the way up to seven thousand four hundred and sixty one US dollars. So we almost touched seven thousand five hundred U.S. dollars. I mean, some days ago, people would have never guessed that that is going to happen right now. But we have to stay realistic once again, as we can see very clearly. And of course, for Bitcoin maximalists, that is actually kind of sad. Here you can see the top of Bitcoin, as I said, at approximately seven thousand five hundred U.S. dollars or almost seven thousand five hundred U.S. dollars. But you can see exactly the same pattern here. Once again, was forming on the S&P 500. We have here it is top right here and then the decline again. So you can clearly see that there is still a very strong correlation. We had a very green day on Wall Street yesterday and Bitcoin basically just followed. That is the reality right now. So note the decoupling Bitcoin from the stock market has not happened yet. There will be a day where this is about to happen. I’m very convinced about that. But today is not that day. I mean, we saw a little bit of an increase in volume over the last two or three days, but there’s not that much volume in the market. Aweil can still dump the bitcoin price, but overall, mid-term and long term, definitely a bullish event. And Google Trends is confirming that to me. And yeah, I think you can see the same picture in here as well. Now let’s go on lower timeframes. What we have seen yesterday or basically overnight was that break out in a year off this ascending triangle. We’re currently trading slightly below seven thousand three hundred U.S. dollars on Coinbase. The price of bitcoin went all the way up to seven thousand four hundred and sixty one US dollars. So we almost touched seven thousand five hundred U.S. dollars. I mean, some days ago, people would have never guessed that that is going to happen right now. But we have to stay realistic once again, as we can see very clearly. And of course, for Bitcoin maximalists, that is actually kind of sad. Here you can see the top of Bitcoin, as I said, at approximately seven thousand five hundred U.S. dollars or almost seven thousand five hundred U.S. dollars. But you can see exactly the same pattern here. Once again, was forming on the S&P 500. We have here it is top right here and then the decline again. So you can clearly see that there is still a very strong correlation. We had a very green day on Wall Street yesterday and Bitcoin basically just followed. That is the reality right now. So note the decoupling Bitcoin from the stock market has not happened yet. There will be a day where this is about to happen. I’m very convinced about that. But today is not that day. The big coin haul thing is going down in approximately thirty-six days from now. In today’s episode, we’re going to have a look at the past and how Bitcoin behaved before previous have things. And what can we expect in 2020 for the Bitcoin price due to the having also? Believe it or not. But on Google Trends, the search term, bitcoin hopping is moving again. And we’re going to discuss when FOMO when mainstream FOMO will get started. And what the impact to become price could be. Also today, we’re going to have a look at the bitcoin price on lower timeframes. Once again, as you probably already figured, Bitcoin broke out of this ascending triangle and is currently trading nicely below seven thousand three hundred U.S. dollars. All that and more in this episode. And now let’s jump right into it. And with that said, what is going on, everyone? Sunny, decree here. And welcome back to another episode. Most of you guys are watching this YouTube channel for quite a while. And we have seen numbers over 200 days, over 300 days in here on this countdown. And now we’re currently talking only about a little bit more than one month. Thirty-six days from now is when the Bitcoin thing is going to go down in 2020, which is approximately on the 13th of May 2020. As I’ve already said, what we’re going to have a look at today is not just a bitcoin price and lower timeframes, but also the Bialek’s ticker and what Bitcoin did in the past before previous Hopfinger, because this is not the first Bitcoin boffing. We had one in 2012, in November 2012 and one in July 2016. And now we’re going to go right into the charts and see what the performance was exactly. Thirty-six days before those two previous half things. And this is what we’re going to take to make a Bitcoin price prediction. What’s about to happen? Most probably what’s about to happen, most likely before troughing here in 2020. Now let’s dive in. So what we’re looking at in here is the bitcoin halving in November 2012. So what we’re going to do right now is we’re going to take the clothes off these candles and compare exactly what the gains were 36 days before the whole thing until the close of the day of the whole thing. And here we’re looking at approximately four point five percent gain. Thirty-six days before the whole thing to the day of the thing. You guys probably all know what happened afterwards. And that’s not going to be our main topic of today because, well, it is quite clear that after every hall thing, the bitcoin price was actually going up quite fast and quite strong, actually. But we are interested in what happened before the whole thing. And here we had a gain of approximately, let’s say, 4.5 percent. Now let’s move on to 2016. Now, in 2016, probably guys already figured from close to close here, 36 days before the whole thing we’re talking about, let’s say approximately 13 percent. So we have 4.5 percent gain and then thirteen point three percent gain. And for all those people who are saying right now, well, in 2016, the price plunged after the Bitcoin whole thing, which is to have to come out a little bit in here. And you guys can already see that. Well, even in here, it maybe took a month or two. And we also had a flash crash right here. But the direction of bitcoin was clear. So what we’re going to do right now is we’re trying to stay as realistic as possible for the current situation. And we’re going to take the average of 4.5 percent and thirteen point three percent for the current situation where we are right now. And that would be a price gain of approximately 9 percent. And well, this is not really a moon boy prediction, but that would take the price of bitcoin at exactly eight thousand US dollars at the day of the Bitcoin boffing in 2020. Now, let me know your opinion down below in the comments section. Do you think that is way too bearish or that is way too bullish? I personally find that very, very realistic. Once again, what we did was we were taking the average of gains 36 days before the previous hall things and added the average in percentage of gains to the current price levels. And that would bring us pretty much exactly to eight thousand U.S. dollars at the day of the halving at the 12th or 13th of May. Two thousand and twenty depends a little bit on how difficult the adjustments are going, but that is the plan. Now, once again, what do you think? What’s going to happen off the wards is actually quite clear. The direction mid-term and long term is definitely going to be up. Now, before we’re gonna talk about the Google Trends, just real quick, something about the sentiment of the community. The community is very indecisive right now. I have two examples. Yesterday I posted I’m going to sleep now. When I wake up, the bitcoin price will be. And it’s pretty much 50/50 among people who believe that the price will be higher or lower. And also in the survey on yesterday’s video is asking people, what do they see more? This is sending triangle, which would be a bullish pattern. Here we have approximately 60 percent of the people agreeing with that. But we were also talking about the possibility of this rising, of this ascending in here. And 40 people see this as a potential pattern that is forming right now, which would be a bearish sign. So doesn’t matter. On Twitter, on YouTube, people are very indecisive about the bitcoin price right now. So, yeah, exciting times ahead of us, that’s for sure. But what we can definitely say is and those numbers are not lying is that people are looking up Bitcoin morphing once again. So people are getting excited about Bitcoin halving. People want to get informed about the bitcoin morphing and not quite sure how many people are new here. Probably not all too many. But also, you have to ask yourself the question, how many people who are already invested in cryptocurrencies? How many people who already know about bitcoin are Googling Bitcoin hopping right now? I’m pretty sure I’m pretty convinced that some of the people looking at bitcoin hovering right now, they’re new. They want to get informed about Bitcoin. And what do you think are they going to do when they hear about the inflation of bitcoin, especially with the current situation in the economy right now, with the fetches printing money, with the government doing helicopter drops and so on? This is definitely a very interesting and hot topic right now. And the closer we’re getting to the Bitcoin morphing and the more mainstream media attention we’re getting, the bigger the formal will get. Hard drives and Solid state drives

Hard Drives

                 Weather is the document you wrote for your college course that you should have written a month ago or that funny YouTube video you saw that had a ending that made you laugh your lungs out. All of that is data and that data needs to be stored some where for later use. You have a couple of drivers today but where going to focus on two main types the standard hard drive and solid state drive we’ll come back to the latter later. Where going to focus on hard drives for now.

                 Where going to start by analyzing the structure of the hard drive and its components, if you look inside one you’re going to find a couple of things, the first thing you’re going to notice is a bunch of disks. They’ll look like ordinarily cd’s but there not. Next thing you’re going to notice is some pieces of metal going across the disks those are actuator arms when you access a piece of data or send data to the drive the data needs to get to the drive some how and those arms do just that. Now the arms themselves don’t move that’s where the drive motor comes in the motor is what moves the arms and the disks aka platers. It does that so you can store data all over the drive otherwise you would run out of space very quickly. Hard drives with physical parts do move and the speed they spin is determined by the rpm’s, some of those speeds and these are the common ones, are 5400, 7200, 10,000 15,000. The higher the speeds the faster the drive is.

                 Next, we have what’s called the solid-state drives as the name suggests there solid bad joke I know. Anyway, unlike the hard drive these drives don’t have any moving parts so there a lot more durable. Now that doesn’t mean you can go troughing these against a wall don’t do that. These drives are a lot faster then standard hard drive, they work at the same speed from the day there made to the day they die, but there is draw back to using them the capacities are not the greatest they tend to be smaller the regular drives. The reason they perform so much better is because they use something called flash and flash is lighting fast (pun intended get it) but the can only last for so long depending on the quality of the flash determines the amount of “writes and reads” it can do before giving up the ghost. So a common technique that’s used even today its still use is use a SSD for your boot drive and some commonly used programs (i.e. web browser , anti-virus program, email client maybe) and that is about it, and use a hard drive for everything since there usually bigger and cheaper The storage of these drives and hard rivers have steadily increased from their inception from a couple of kilobytes to terabytes of today. Some drives are so big that you can hold hundreds of thousands of pictures or hundreds of videos. That was just a basic overview of drives that are used in computers there some other types like NVME, M.2 but those are another kettle of fish requiring a discussion in and of its self.
