okay this took so long bc i know nothing abt DnD so i did a bit of research!!! my friends have talked abt DnD and i never understood but knew it was smth cool n involved alot of creativity, but now i just think this is sm cooler <33 anyway im not creative at all rn so im referencing everything from this website im using👍

okay I couldn't decide but qiu is half-elven.

i can't really think about what class he'd be in, but i think i could see him as a bard

he's the laziest bard though 💀 and thus is mostly a wanderer.

qiu will wait until they're on their last coin and then will go perform

would perform a very good show while MC pickpockets the assholes that were disturbing the bar just a moment ago

otherwise, he just performs for you and his friends.

they'll have/be at a party with all their friends, and will perform some type of magic trick to entertain everyone

qiu will sing you little songs, read you poetry he wrote while watching you sleep that morning<3

for any important dates like birthdays, or anniversary (if you're dating), etc., they'll do a cool magic trick and perform a elven dance that he learned from his mom

and every night its full with laughter and good music, and occasionally he'll come out from behind the bar

(honestly, he's mostly just cleaning the glasses and looking pretty <3)

and he'll pull you or one of your friends into a dance

omg imagine its not just a bar, its also a bed & breakfast

of course he's decent enough at cooking, so every morning he lays out a nice breakfast for his customers

i dont always go for (cis) genderbent art depending on the context and how its pulled off, but always sunny genderbends r honestly very interesting and cool to me regardless of what they look like (whether they make characters cis or trans or whatever). and i think its because all of the characters have very specific interpretations of gender roles and its fun to think about how that might differ or stay the same

per my last reblog i really like the idea of girl!mac's dad hating her because she was supposed to be born a boy and her trying to fit into that role while also navigating what her gender means to her personally..... there is so MUCH to think about there. similarly i see people talk about dennis as being transfem because it makes you look at a lot of her character aspects very differently (e.g. her very deeply internalized misogyny and sexism) idk i could make a whole separate post about the connotations that come w transfem dennis because i do think people dont necessarily think about all of them. but i do like that interpretation and i think its interesting to reexamine those traits through an entirely different lens. i've seen people headcanon frank as a trans man which is honestly real as fuck to me. but the point im getting at here is that Because gender is so relevant in at least some way or another to every member of the gang you can kind of do anything with how you view their gender (whether its cisgender or not) and it still tells you a lot about their character and the way they view the world. im not saying this isnt something that applies to other characters in other shows because gender roles tend to be deeply relevant in a lot of things and turning them on their heads in any way can be fun. there's just something specific about sunny that i enjoy and im glad so many of us think about it lol idk.

I know i dont usually post stuff like this, for the longest time if you had asked me what my gender was id say i was a regular guy..but in truth i say that but i never really felt like i "Fit" with the term guy. Like in my brain whenever i think of myself i never really think specifically about being a male. Before i just assumed "oh its cause i am one, obviously i wouldnt consciously think of that. its sort of a given" but looking back that clearly wasnt the case, always joked how i barely counted as a guy and most people either would laugh like its a joke but a few days ago a coworker asked why..and i sort of froze up cause i had never really stopped and asked myself why? Like i knew i didnt act like a normal guy, i didnt think like one, i never had that attachment to the title of being male. so i always felt this disconnect from manhood, and even when my father tried to teach me to be a man it always felt like i was just an outsider looking in and learning a lesson through a window or something. he tried all kinds of stuff you would expect a "manly" guy to know, hell he even taught me how to track through a forest (would cut notches in trees and we walked from the top of a mountain to the bottom and had me lead us back following the marks he made. yeah dad take your like 14 year old to the fucking bottom of a mountain and make me track cut marks like some legendary hunter lol). and he would always explain what manhood was and i just....it never connected to me you know? i always chocked that up to the fact my dad was never really around (after he and ma divorced he sorta slowly dissapeared from my life till he was dead one day) and so i figured i wasnt like a regular guy cause i was raised by like, 95% woman only so i thought that might be why? but as ive come to realize it isnt that and ive just never really vibed with the idea of being just a guy, its never clicked for me.

Now dont get me wrong, the idea of using she/her pronouns actually is uncomftorable to me so now i feel like im sort of just floating here? in between gender in my own sort of like...little world and im worried about doing it right. Yeah i know "oh i want to do good at gender which is a logical and reasonable thing that can be done" i know i know. But like, i dont want to wear makeup and dresses and stuff (though nail polish would be nice, perhaps a good black would be cool.) and i feel like i dont particularly want to wear any womans clothing? i like guy clothes, there comfy, fit me nice, and for obvious reasons they are all i got lol. Also i like having my goatee and facial hair so thats also a thing. i just worry that after browsing the nonbinary tag that cause of stuff like this i wouldnt be good at being nonbinary, or that i would do it wrong. OH also that i would still be comfortable with people using he/him pronouns as well as they/them but wouldnt feel comftorable with somebody using she/her ones (perhaps this is just cause he/him pronouns are all ive known my entire life and thats why im more comfy with them). yeah all that makes me worried id be doing nonbinary wrong, which i know is a dumb sentence cause nobody can do gender "wrong" and that its a personal thing that is up to only the person whose gender its about feelings on the situation. but that lingering doubt is still in my mind, that i will be some sort of fraud or not ACTUALLY nonbinary and stuff. cause lord knows alot of tumblr views nonbinary as just "WOMAN 2" and if you arnt some hyper androgynous person you arnt actually nonbinary and i know i know, i shouldnt care what fuckin morons on tumblr say.

But gender stuff is new to me, VERY knew. Lord knows i still have strange feelings towards being ace and sometimes worry im not "ACE" enough to be considered ace. so im def still fighting some internal demons about this stuff. But having good friends around is helping out alot and i cant even imagine how id handle dealing with this sort of stuff alone (cause lord knows what little family i got left wouldnt be the most...supportive) anyway uh, gender is fuckin wild and confusing and stupid and simple and everything and nothing and lord does it give me a headache.

i have rewatched the scene. breakdown:

maka looks and sounds bittersweet talking about how she doesnt really know where her mother is at any given moment. she uses the word "missing," and even though she describes her mother's traveling as cool or positive, thats still a kind of telling word choice.

crona sees it as maka's mother "abandoning" her for "some trip," speaking in a very dismissive/unimpressed tone. they see her mother's traveling as trivial and unimportant compared to being present in maka's life.

maka's comparison of her mother to a grizzly bear isnt an uncommon thing. mama bear. but crona has not experienced someone who's multifaceted like that in a good way. "strong and scary but also cuddly and loving" probably just sounds two-faced and ingenuine to them. "that seems like a lot of things for one person to be."

maka's best memory of her mother being "the divorce" is very much a comedy line but its still valid. considering how maka sees her as strong and scary it was probably impressive to see her calm and collected in the face of a really emotionally horrible situation.

and then we have... "she's my mom, silly, i love her." honestly bestie not the best thing to say to this particular person lol. but its how she feels! maka very clearly idolizes her mother and sees her as The Good One out of her parents, most likely in a "no matter what im siding with her" way. <- thats getting into headcanon territory but yknow. its the vibe i get

crona's only known one mother, one caregiver, their entire life. and theyve also been raised with a unique sense of purpose for being alive. crona is alive so that they can do what medusa says, so they can follow her direction until theyre strong. until theyre whatever she wants them to be. they are not just alive for the sake of it, and they have to earn it every single day. crona cares for the woman who raised them and who keeps them alive; they want her approval and the safety she provides from the dwma that would otherwise kill them.

i dont think its coincidence that crona says "she's my mother." when they run away. maka presented them with "she's my mom, silly," which they visibly mulled over in that moment. if i step back into maka headcanon zone, she comes with a lot of black and white morals. her mom is always in the right and her dad is always in the wrong, even if that means ignoring things that contradict that viewpoint. "she's my mom, silly, i love her" might have uhhhh. made crona's dependency on medusa worse. (which of course is not makas fault btw. crona asked how she felt about her mother and she answered honestly)

honestly i think its interesting that crona feels so strongly about maka's mother. they explicitly think she's a bad mom. even though they have like, the worst mom in the series. i dunno how exactly to make that make sense other than them just having a double standard, but it could go in a lot of different directions.

WE’RE ALL SYNCED NOOO…. everyone remember to rest and eat and hot water bottles help with cramps but don’t burn urselves .. and maybe take some paracetamol too (or ibuprofen if ur feeling silly) my mother swears by it . I think it’s just a desi thing and like willpower i forgot tje term but like . when u believe something will help u so much it does . But it works for me..

AND HONEY WATER!! i will stand by honey water till the day i die just boil some water and add some honey and wait for it to cool (don’t burn ur throats guys) Or just add a bit of cold water like i do and supposedly that helps with a sore throat and it makes u feel all warm and fuzzy . my Dad taught me the first one he says its cause of the texture i never fact checked that

i’m getting carried away with the random food things ONE MORE FOR GOOD LUCK if u want . to make Desi chai . boil half a cup of water and put tjat in a tiny saucepan with the teabag, one cardamom (make sure u crack it open so the tiny little seeds drop out), like a Teaspoon of fennel seeds or something idk i just add whatever amount looks good, and optionally a little bit of cinnamon (again i just wing it just add a small bit) and some sugar/sweetener and let that all simmer for like 30 seconds while u get half a cup of milk and pour that into ur saucepan . Thenn you wanna mix that around a bit and leave it all to . cook? that doesn’t sound like the right word… whatever. leave it for a few minutes and ur final step is when the chai starts rising u let it rise to the top and then turn down the heat and let it sink (i have a gas stove but if you have an electric ermm just set it aside for two secs to sink i think that’ll work). let it rise and sink three times!!! this really makes the flavour pop according to my dad!! then just strain it and enjoy :3 i lovee chai it was inevitable being pakistani HAHA it always makes me feel better after anything whether i feel sick or something bad happens or if i’m just silly chai is just nice for any occasion . my phopo calls me an auntie but Likeee isnt being a rich brown auntie the life…… im not rich yet but one day guys trust

anyway that got long HAHA i love cooking and baking and stuff … and home remedies MEDICATION IS GOOD DONT GET ME WRONG but sometimes im too lazy to run to the shops and get some cough syrup or something so i just make some honey water .. please take ur meds and get vaccinated though guys ❤️ stay safe hope u liked my chai :3

the holidays are always really fucking weird, i dont like many of them but specifically December is just- ew

Anyway ill just thro my mini pitty party real quick:

From heres basically a trauma dump about being in the hospital, but i typically talk about this in a tone more like "oh yea! i nearly died lmao"

When i was like, just turning 6 I had 💫pneumonia💫 & needed to go to the 💫hospital💫. So I spent like, 12/11-31/15 in the hospital. along the way i had these treats happen (not really in order, 💜=story from family member, ❤=i actually remember this)

💜being diagnosed by my sisters 16 yo boyfriend by looking at my gums, whereas medical staff took 4 days

❤Some mcdonalds, cool auntys banana bread, jello & making popin cookin sets w/ my older sister

💜a 5 day medically induced coma

lung surgery therefor cool fuckin scars on my back (WHICH I CANT FUCKING SHOW ANYONE CAUSE I WAS CURSED W/ TITS AND 2/3 ARE UNDER MY BRA)

💜waking up from said coma periodically only to say "im scared" w/ my mom trying to comfort me but i had ear shit going on

💜Finnaly actually woke up, yelled "IM DEAD", which is reportadly the scariest shit my dad has ever heard, my mom asks if i hurt, i say yes, she like "ur not dead honey" again i was 6 & in & out of a coma 😂 (idk why but I've always found that story funny)

💜my parents being thretened w/ truancy by my dumbass school

❤Christmas, I had *2* mini christmas trees in my hospital room 💅 1 was cool but my cool uncle & aunty got me a pink 1 which I still have to this day as a lamp

💜only trusting 1 of my doctors cause he looked like my grandfather who'd been deceased for 2years at that point

❤💜going on walks around the kids floor in a wheelchair & stealing a little gingerbread beanie baby ornament but they didnt care so they just let me keep it & i still have it somehwere.

💜my mom met a lady who had a son who was a few months old & they didnt expect to live past a couple weeks but he *did* (more on that later)

💜had food in the cafeteria and i proceeded to rub the pizza i got *into my hair*. My response? "Its just cheese" my family and I quote that to this day lmao.

💜being reverted to a toddler for a good minute (someone asked my age i said i was 3, i was not) & needing to relearn walking, talking, the little bit of reading i knew & getting into a shower w/out being scared of being pulled down the drain

❤said dude who asked my age worked at the hospital cafeteria & we visited him after most of my appointments. miss u uncle (that was what he went by), wish u well. Dont know where he since covid cause the part of the building cafeteria was in was torn down.

❤and after all that later and i got releaced on new years eve :>

results:

From there forward i had a 20-30minute nebulizer to do every 4 hours (which my parents had to wake up at like 2am for a half hour for), 2 twice daily inhailers, 2 nasil sprays, "the tire" (tastes like shit and makes me feel anxious) (that isnt even all of it my mom counted 8 meds at one point) and i slowly dropped them year by year till they had me down to just rescue inhailer as needed & if my lungs r really shit for a min i go on the tire. (Tire=prednisolone but what 6 year old is remembering that name lol)

specialist appointments every week, then 2 weeks, then every month, 3 months, 6 months, now im at checkup every year and check in as needed

To this day the smell of a consentrated area of hand sanatizer just has me stop in my tracks lol.

seeing a picture of tiny me on my parents facebook feed yearly of me unconscious in a hospital bed w/ tubes in mah face

couple of close friend i met post hospital (keep in mind i was like 7) didn't believe me so i ran around the playground cursing them the fuck out (never did get in trouble for that 😂) ((I still talk to 1 of them shes cool))

Idk where to put this but about that kid I was talking about before, I found out last year around this time he had just died- of 💫pneumonia💫. yea that fucked me up for a good minute, he was around 6 too which didn't help, I never even met the kid and I still had a weird form of survivors guilt.

Anyway have a merry fucking christmas i really dont get this holiday lol, treat yourself kindly, feel free to be the grinch you are and explain in detail why u hate the holidays u arent alone lol

WEEWOO WEEWOO i finally watched spiderman across the spider-verse and i have some THOUGHTS-

i’ve been avoiding spoilers so like i am probably not the first one with these thoughts but here we go:

SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS

- we all know; miguel o’hara = hot as fuck

- BUT everytime hes on screen the music that was played sounded very similar to the vibe of the prowlers theme in the first movie. coincidence? i dont think so👀

-EVERY spider was shown having doubts about their position. they ALL doubted their stance when miles said ‘we’re supposed to be the good guys’ everyone BUT miguel

- WHAT IF miguel isnt actually his universes spiderman

- WHAT IF miguel is ACTUALLY his universes KING PIN

HEAR ME OUT-

- when hes introduced he says ‘i am not like the other girls- spidermen’ while he is LITERALLY injecting himself with some typa green liquid??? like tf is that????

- maybe that shit actually gives him those spidey powers BUT do we actually ever see him like sticking to a thingie upside down or anything? he is always upright and he doesnt have the spidey stickiness

- he only gets like feral kinda and even his webs are like gleaming red??? and his mask is like SUPER evil and as pointed out by dad peter (aka nick miller) HE ISNT FUNNY

-Literally ALL of the spiders have some kinda funny thing or like cool power

- this man only has vampy teeth (hot) and is fast??? and like has these elbow slashes like???? he has nothing unique like all the other spiders.

- like gwen has her entirely different colours scheme and her ballet movements or the british one (kill me i forgot his name but i LOVED this guy) has his punk and guitar, fuck anarchy thing. like all of them have smth thats their thing but all of miguels traits are like super evil and sussy as fuck…

- AND he was SUCH a dick to miles. any actual spidey would NEVER be such a prick to another spider EVER- my guy is afraid of miles and wanted to break him down which brings me to the motive…

- idk what his plan is but he might know that miles can/ will be his doom. OR he knows that one of the spiders might find out and kill him so he makes this elaborate web of lies (pun intended) about these canon events and like scares everybody into thinking they have to just let these bad things happen when in reality he is just looking for this control. this might be a bit far fetched BUT IDK WHO KNOWS the writers lol

that motive thing i am not so sure about but i am certain hes afraid of what miles can do and will do cuz he is acting like a racoon trapped in a trashbag (shoutout to taylor tomilson lol) and gaslighting everybody onto his side…

then theres his alleged backstory;

- he went to a different universe to live his dream life and conveniently that universes miguel DIES????? MMMMHMMMM and u expect me to believe that mr sexy o’hara????

- he literally did what king pin tried todo in the first movie- and it failed

- thing is WHAT IF it failed not because he just went there and took his place BUT because he killed off that other daddy miguel

- what if the universe just collapsed cuz he went there and actually changed the entire universes future by killing this other miguel????

honesty its like 1am and i watched the movie like 5 hours ago so all this might not make sense. BUT I BADLY NEEDED TO TALK ABT THESE THOUGHTS- again i am for sure not the first one i just really need to speak this into the void lol

BAN/ZHIVAGO ARC😭😭😭 a few observations: Ban is very clearly influenced by Zhivago’s style, like the clothes are so similar, the fact that they sent Ban to Aberdeen prison and his favorite is Aberdeen ale makes me think he associates it with his dad, Zhivago was hot, Ban mirrors Zhivago’s words to him to Elaine, Zhivago tells Ban to never trust humans and the only humans he ends up trusting are Escanor and Jericho, zhivago has lived in misery about the deaths of his children for almost 40 years :(

One thing that made me notice that Austin wasnt into Kaia was the lack of acknowledgement of her. I have seen celebs be private but i have never seen them completely dismiss like that. I have said before when we men love a woman we do not stfu. We may not tell the world our business but we do not hide her like that shit. If i were Kaia, I would be a little offended. I will understand privacy, but dismissing me? What are you trying to hide? I wish I can low key run some type of live to school the young ladies who think a man craving human connecting, dismissing his girl, and looking miserable as hell every time he around her is "goals". Another thing I wanted to add is I see people who are always bringing the 2 years thing like it means something. it really is the lack of acknowledgement, almost as if the relationship doesn't even exist or is taboo to talk, about that gives me pause. that sure as hell is not what love looks like.

and hey you are more than welcome to use my inbox as a platform to keep on providing your insights. i think it's incredibly important to remember that there are two people in this relationship. us as women can see it from the female perspective, but we need that male perspective too. i really do find that the whole thing of men and women think a little differently is true, i don't think that's a crazy thing to say. so, austin is going through something that us as women can't 100% relate to because we experience it through a feminine lens.

and you're right. 2 years is not that long of a time to have been with somebody. you're still in that honeymoon phase. you begin to settle into a normal routine probably like after 3-4 years. 2 years is still too fresh. and hell, most of those 2 years were spent with austin filming a lot of projects and working away from home. he wasn't spending 2 years exclusively with her if that makes sense. and that's cool about your parents, i have a very similar experience where my parents also got engaged after 6 months and they are still together. how many stories do you hear when the guy said they knew within like the first couple of days that a woman was their forever? practically all of them lol. i feel like we put people into categories right away...either "this person is marriage material" or "this person is fine for now and im not looking to commit". and it's hard to get into that marriage category if someone just doesn't see you as their forever person. either the chemistry is there or it's not, and you can't force compatibility.

this scene always gets me. not only does it begin to show gilyoungs personality it also shows how dokja views himself. he sees himself as a hypocrite for lying to gilyoung but hes not even really lying. gilyoung sees dokja as a good person because he is but dokja cant see that for himself, and if it was anyone else he might think different but because its a kid he just sees gilyoungs opinion of him as immaturely optimistic but from what we know gilyoung is seriously realistic, dokja just isnt able to accept the fact that hes a good person. i just love gilyoung hes so interesting. child characters are always interesting to analyze because kids think in a way adults dont. many see kids always reacting on feelings but kids can be very grounded and realistic but at the same time that connection to their feelings and ability to put empathy above all else can make them better than adults that surround them and more willing to help and forgive, if all of us acted like that then i feel like wed all be a bit better off.

YES I WOULD LOVE TO TELL YOU ABOUT MALAYSIAN FOOD!! I would show u pics but um 🧍->🏃‍♂️💨. Ur gonna have to google it king LOL. The first day back my dad and I went out to a mamak stall (basically just a restaurant for malay-chinese-indian food), and I had roti canai (a type of flatbread with curry) and teh tarik, which I have missed dearly. I dont typically like normal english breakfast tea so getting to have authentic teh tarik was SO GOOD. Teh tarik (translating to "pulled tea") is made with condensed milk and gets its name from how after the drink is mixed it gets continuously poured over and over from one container to another until it gets super frothy.

I've also been getting reacquainted with my favourite fruits 🥰 that you cant get in Australia like mangosteen and jambu air (ai-yer). Mangos and dragon fruit you can get in australia but. um. Theyre bad. They just taste like sweet water. Also unfortunately for me rambutan i havent been able to find rambutan 😔😔. Those look similar to lychee but they taste pretty different, less tangy and sweeter.

Ive gone out with a friend to have cendol (c promounced as a "ch") which is a cold desert with coconut milk and rice jelly, along with other toppings should you choose it. Im also in the process of convincing my bff to do a 3h road trip with me specifically for food in a city called Ipoh 😭 wish me luck.

AND, im getting one of my relatives to teach me how to make rendang and char kway teow. The rendang specifically because the one she makes i prefer over what's usually made in restuarants. I think it's a state difference in recipes or smtg? So the ones you'll find in restuarants are KL/Selangor rendang and she makes from Kedah. Thats just a theory tho im not actually sure.

Its so funny you say that about blackberries bc where i live we have them literally growing everywhere on the side of the road AKDNWKDNKWDN in the summer when they start putting out fruit one of my roommates will sometimes go out and just pick a bunch for the whole household, and they always taste SOOOOO much better than the store-bought ones. Im genuinely not sure how to describe the taste of blackberry other than like. Its very sweet but also very tart (i go for the slightly less ripe ones tbh bc i prefer tart things to super sweet) at the same time, and sorta pops in your mouth a little bit when you chew it. Honestly its one of my favorite fruits i would highly recommend them if you can find em anywhere!!!!

My resolution this year is a bit silly but i wanted to go for a very fun easy one, so its to use every sticker i own this year :] ive already started by putting a few on the creeper minifridge that my roomie got me for xmas 😂😂😂😂😂😂 and i have some scrapbook ideas as well to use my fancier ones that my friends have gotten me!!!! Also you are so valid about the writing-- tbh if you wrote more than expected then it sounds like you succeeded instead of failed, so thats awesome!!! :DDD

Tbh it was really hard for me to sort them into the houses lmao but i guess the easiest and most natural ones were Jihoon and Hyunsuk cause they just scream Gryff energy tbh especially our small lil leader hyunsukie who also happens to be the captain of the quidditch team 🤧 yes sir u bet ur ass he plays so damn well and so damn swiftly too like please he is the reasom Ravenclaw will always lose in match against Gryffindor 💀

And jihoon seems like he could do in slytherin but i think he'd have Gryffindor in his head throughout the whole train ride tbh and the red dummies do sorta match with his loud and pretty abbrasive energy lmao but unlike hyunsuk he doesnt play quidditch and is actually more into making potions and herbology but ofc he wont ever say that aloud (or make me know he actually likes the two subjects) and just says quidditch is overrated and being in potions and herbology gives him more time for himself to do whatver he wants and not because he thinks its cool 🙄

And jeongwoo and junghwan are the newly first years who coincidentally came onto the same train just seconds before it leaves and they just look at each other like "wait arent u that neighbour of mine?? I didnt know you were a wizard too!" Cause yes they're both from muggle families who live in those suburban towns and were genuinely surprised when their kid started developing magic again and even got called by hogwarts

Jihoon is from a muggle family too but like unlike jeongwoo and junghwan his isnt completely without magic? Like jeongwoo and junghwan are like hermione and Jihoon is more like seamus (i think lmao) like his dad was a normie and he got all the magic from his eomma like that

if hyunsuk is playing imma go and watch every single match and i will also drag you, you can ponder about aliens invasions with kyu after the match. he'll always have the best sneakers on and when he gets the trophy and all he'll put on the coolest pair of shades ever.

jihoon is so basic lol he just doesnt play cos he'd be bad at it (not that im not trusting his guns but yeahh) and he's just trying to hide it. i wanna annoy him while he does his boring herbology homework lol aint nobody gonna look at your plants and leaves and stuff bro

I got fun facts ABOUND

They're a very fun group! Jesse's never had complaints abt them, he thinks they're all good kids. They all got their own troubles and have their moments, especially around high school, but they're kids yk? Jesse is happy to have them under his roof if they ever need an escape or a vent or what-have-you. He WOULD love it if they could keep it the hell down after 10 pm though.

Damien is the newest initiate to the group. He's a sophomore when AJ and the other three enter their freshman year. Damien got to know Maya first through extracurriculars-- he runs track and Maya figures skates! They'd hang out after their respective practices and listen to podcasts while waiting for their parents to pick them up. AJ has a huuuuge crush on Damien and everyone teases him abt it... idk I love Damien so much he's such a goober!! V much one of those kids who "acts cool" bc he's always so chill and can easily run in more popular crowds but he's not a douche, he's actually v affable, if not a little too apolitical when it comes to disagreements + drama amongst the teens. Guess he's afraid it'll make his persona less neutral, and the idea of not being able to be friends with every different clique makes him feel insecure :(

Axel is overly boisterous, moderately annoying, and incredibly funny. Will Say and Do things just to see what happens. Rule of thumb: if it provokes their group to throw proverbial tomatoes at him, he's commiting to whatever that bit is. Likes to keep the energy up and the conversation flowing, otherwise he gets too anxious (he deals with a lot of tough things internally) and his friends remind him to relax once and a while, he doesn't always have to be so On around them. Close with all of them but has a special bond with Maya; AJ coming in close second.

Maya is sunshine incarnate. She always has a way to find things beautiful. If her life isnt going to inherently be like an indie film then she's going to MAKE it like one!! And she makes it look effortless to boot. Lover of all thing doodle-y, poetry, and podcast-y. Doesn't always matter the subject; admittedly though, she has a hard time focusing on something full through. If the name or thumbnail interests her she goes "sure hell yeah" and follows it lol. Her and Ax's respective neurodivergencies fit together very well. Her and Sam love to brag about their "boy-free" outings in front of the three guys and will usually team up when everyone else is being annoying. Maya considers AJ her sweet angel baby boy and would carry him around in her pocket if she could. She lovingly gave him the nickname "AppleJack" 🥹

Sam's been around the longest. A very level head in the group, a grounding force. She knew AJ since they were in diapers so they're essentially siblings. This is evident in how they treat each other; they'll whack one another over the head w a pillow and call each other a dumbass with EASE but also be ride or die till the end. The two can share one look and burst out laughing, super silly and goofy!! Sam's mom, Eliza, is a recovering alcoholic and has been slowly but surely putting her life together while Jesse's friend and local foster mom Delilah has taken care of Sam on and off throughout the years. Eliza is good people; her and Jesse are kindred spirits. So, meeting her and seeing her as a fellow struggling parent with a history of addiction, he vouched for her a lot and tried helping her out with housing and finding work while she was at her lowest. There were a lot of playdates, so Jesse's seen Sam grow up. He was there for all her school events, helped with all the birthdays, just as he did with AJ. A lot of that connection goes unsaid-- so it hit Jesse like a freight train when one day a 12 year old Sam approaches him and very casually hands him a father's day card. "You're not my dad but you are A dad, and a good one. I never met my own real dad so thanks for being there instead," the card read. She has to watch her smirk and keep from rolling her eyes and says, "Ah, you don't gotta cry about it!" when Jesse gets that 🥺🥹 look on his face. Despite being as prickly as her mom, she accepts his bear hug and tells him she loves him. The card is still on his dresser.

Yes yes yes!! i can share more. i can OVER share.

so the AU it's centered around a venue in the city that edelgard starts up. Its kind of a combination gig venue/ club where they host live bands on weekends and spin records for most of the rest of the week. let me expand on the characters:

edelgard: she basically manages to get into a bunch of her fathers money and uses it to start a goth club. She does it because her dad also owns a venue, but hes not willing to support small acts if he doesn't think they'll bring a good crowd (and therefore money). She doesnt have like... tons of money from a business standpoint but its enough to get a small thing going.

Hubert: he's got a pet thing for chemistry and does photography and can make emulsion screens for t-shirts which help both the small bands and the venue make some extra cash. As always, a reliable assistant to edelgard who helps her run the place, encouraged her to do it, and can come up with really creative solutions to unexpected problems. He's also got a great pulse on the scene and is really good at scouting acts

Everyone else under the cut!!

Monica: Edelgards other assistant, has a huge crush on her. Doesn't really understand the goth thing but wants edelgard to think she's cool so she dresses up. She does the boring stuff like numbers and books and taxes, but shes really good at it and wants to help Edelgards dream so it works out.

Ferdinand: He works there, im thinking probably leads the tech or setup... but the music?? oh hes so into it. Romantic lyrics and glamorous theatrics? absolutely 100%. His family also works in entertainment (hence the stage skills) but he works with edelgard by choice because she lets him get on stage, which his family business would so not allow. He's not part of an act but he opens up for small gigs as a solo or fills in. He gets to be a rockstar for once and it is everything. Becomes fast friends with dorothea.

Dorothea: Shes scouted as a minor pop act and slated to get signed on to a record label but its nothing like what she expected: someone else writes her lyrics and she stands there and looks pretty. In order to explore her own musical inspiration, she starts writing for herself and perfoming here-- disguised in full batcave makeup with teased hair. its a journey of self exploration.

Petra: I think she would also be employed here! but not at first. She moved to [city] from a different country and found that she had a lot of trouble fitting in. After going to a club night, she met some of the regulars and found a group that didnt care if she fit in or not, as long as she had good taste in music. Introduces people to bands from home, they think its got a cool new sound. she picks up some of their music too. And maybe more than a little of the kickass style. This is the kind of place, she decides, that she wants to be a part of. She lends her strength to stage setup and helps as a security detail on occasion as well, but even when shes not working, shes often found in the audience, or hanging out in the daytime.

Caspar : Head of security! He walked in looking for a job when they were setting up the venue in the early days and after a brief deliberation over funds, the three heads of operations (lol) decided they could afford -- and ought to have-- a bouncer. He's a bit more into the punk side of the music scene but he learns to have a soft spot for crooning and synths. Plus, he found out his childhood best friend is a regular here, and this is a great chance to reconnect.

Linhardt: absolutely not employed. He spends so much time there like he really should just be working the merch table or something but he will not do it. Since he isnt being paid, edelgard tolerates his hanging about at ridiculous hours shooting the shit with Petra and Bernadetta, or reading Dorothea's lyrics and helping her pick out chord progressions. He has a really good ear for the mathematical side of music, understands music theory really really well-- but not creative at all. He can play bass, but only in a really textbook way and just cant get funky with it. Thats what he likes about hearing other people play. He will read books during club nights (but not at live shows). Hes in university and literally does all of his course reading at the club. Often found "stepping out for a smoke" (catching up with caspar)

Bernadetta: A very talented writer with an appreciation for old gothic literature. she writes poetry, and anyone who gets the opportunity to read it knows that they would make beautiful lyrics, but shes too embarrassed to share them. shes a regular and a genuine appreciator of the music. cannot play instruments. doesnt like to dance, just closes her eyes. She likes to hover near linhardt because she trusts him and his resting bitch face is a great stranger deterrent.

Byleth: idk i didnt get very far with them other than the idea that maybe they are the dj during weekdays. Since they understand everyones likes and dislikes so well, they play to everyone's preferences. Bad conversationalist and always saying cryptic shit. arrives when their shift starts and leaves when it ends. has a painfully normal day job.

Bonus: Jeritza is the lead of a band that plays here often. Mercedes comes to support him. She is so confident about being there that no one even questions her vibe. WAHHH this is so long LOL but i hope this is interesting to read!!! its got a lot of room for fleshing out but i just think its so fun and i want them all to be goth!!! heres a little doodle of linhardt, bernie, and petra hanging out in the stairwell to rest your eyes on after all that reading
