I unfortunately stumbled into the gossip about taika's private life you were probably referring to when talking about film twitter's obsession with him and ngl i was super creeped out. like people literally made up a guy to be mad about based on stalking his every personal connection without realising how creepy it is to do this to anyone let alone a non white person. I understand what you meant now that people are super weird about it cause i don't even think the guy is perfect and i found it very unsettling

Yep. I absolutely do not care who he sleeps with or what he does privately (if I get any fucking responses like "well, what about...", I will block you, you know exactly what I mean, I'm not playing that fucking game).

WE DO NOT KNOW THESE PEOPLE. They are human beings with flaws and desires and we get to watch their art. Like, critique the art, fine. But leave them alone.

I got into a huge fight with a friend who was absolutely over the moon at not liking Wonder Woman 1984. Like, legitimately excited to tear it to pieces. And it became increasingly evident that he had been waiting for Patty Jenkins to fuck up. It wasn't at all about the quality of the film; it was about him wanting to mock a female director. This dude is a film critic, with a pretty large platform.

Film Twitter, and unfortunately a lot of critics, are not smart. They're Hedda Hoppers without the wit. I know a handful of folks - most of them women/queer/PoC - who are actually trustworthy and capable of analyzing media. The rest are clout chasers, mediocre thinkers, and weirdly obsessive over certain things, to the point that it's quite obvious there are ulterior motives.

I'm serious. I don't want the link or anything. I'm pretty sure it's so gross that veteran tumblr users who've seen it all, tell me to not look it up. I saw a small excerpt of it on Google and I'm NOT going to read the rest if it. I just want to know where it came from!

I don’t know if anyone truly knows. I think maybe it originated on Wattpad? But it’s been reposted so many times, as well as other “The ___ Fic”. It’s been around as long as I can remember (I joined the phandom 2016, left around 2019, I’m just here for the lols anymore)

I don’t blame you for not wanting a link. There are some.. awful crack fics out there. It’s something that has been considered Id say a “staple” to know of or read just because of the traumatizing nature behind it.

I’ll do some research for you tonight anon, and see what I can find as the “origin” of the story. So check back in the next day or so haha.

the funniest meltdown ive ever had was in college when i got so overstimulated that i could Not speak, including over text. one of my friends was trying to talk me through it but i was solely using emojis because they were easier than trying to come up with words so he started using primarily emojis as well just to make things feel balanced. this was not the Most effective strategy... until. he tried to ask me "you okay?" but the way he chose to do that was by sending "👉🏼👌🏼❓" and i was so shocked by suddenly being asked if i was dtf that i was like WHAT???? WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY TO ME?????????? and thus was verbal again

yknow AI art has ruined an entire genre of painting to me, i saw one of those smooth anime-realism pieces and immidiately thought ''ugh, AI art'' until i noticed it was posted by an established deviantart user 6 years ago. like ive never been a huge fan of that genre but it looks like a pretty difficult style to master and i feel bad for the artists who specialized in anime-realism only to have their entire market jacked by people typing keywords into midjourney.
