It was a love story from the very beginning

Hi there!!! Another meta from season 15, we are getting slowly to the end of this series of Destiel analysis.

Remember this is a summary from my metas from season 15 with some new additions related to the end of the show.

Dumb Jokes

Episode 15x13 was a BL episode. We had the Hunter Corp with AU!Dean and AU!Sam which was funny, but there was some hints of Wincest.

Putting that to a side, it was an interesting episode because it brought back Ruby in the Empty talking with Castiel. But not just that, it was a recalling to Ruby/Sam relationship. Castiel mentioned they were lovers and in the Empty Ruby confesses to hi "She liked Sam".

This was important because Ruby/Sam was one of the early Destiel mirrors. And for the narrative, to bring it back means a reaffirmation of Destiel being a romantic thing. At least the sexual attraction in earlier seasons.

The dumb jokes between Dean and Castiel meant Dean was happy. Dean was happy because Castiel and him were okay now, and as he showed i 15x10, he feels Castiel is his mate for life.

That's why he enjoys making dumb jokes to his angel or, including, to make him jealousy as we will see in the incoming episodes with Amara.

Another important Destiel scene was ghe kne in which Castiel goes inside the Empty, helped by Jack.

Castiel almost dying to get into the Empty, is a parallel to Dean almost dying to get into the veil. And idk why it was so easy... But, could work as a foreshadow too.

Why a foreshadow? Because they showed us how, through Jack, Cas, or anyone else?, Could break into the Empty, and maybe... Because Ruby called Cas, he could represent the connection, the first one in waking up the Empty, and being released from it. So maybe, this could be the way to refill Heaven with angels sleeping in the void.

This was a big spec about refilling Heaven with angels from the Empty which, we should asume, it happened.

It was also a clue about the possibility of Dean rescuing Castiel from the Empty which never happened. The one rescuing him was Jack.

When Dean finds what Jack and Castiel were doing he almost lose his mind. He was worried of lose Castiel again. And he reacts scolding his husband for it.

Again the quote: "You did a stupid things" or "You are an idiot", isn't else than a reflection of Dean being worried about his angel. Old married couple bickering. Nothing to see here.

Tomato Smoothie

Just a few things about episode 15x14. Yes, one one in which Mrs. Potters appears bringing more unresolved mysteries about the bunker. I hope we can see it in a future, if someone makes a reboot, but no in C*W please.

It was very symbolic the nymph gave Jack a smoothie than tasted sweet but weakened him, and she gave Dean a tomato juice to make him stronger.

And why is Dean with tomatoes? Okay, get ready for the second meaning...

This is screaming how deep inside the closet Dean is, right? Mrs. Potters knew.

Now, about visual narrative, we had Dean pressing the reset button twice. The second time he made it using a hammer. Hammer represents justice.

And Jack is there, so we can infer, this was a foreshadow of the end in which Jack makes Justice by reseting the world bringing everybody back.

But why twice? And why is Dean the one pressing the button?

Maybe because is not Dean but Jensen? Maybe Jensen will make some justice by rebooting Supernatural? Let's see... well he started with John and Mary which... is not what we were waiting for, but it's telling us he has the copyright of SPN, or something like that.

Domestic and Jealous Husbands

The amount of domestic Destiel and Dean being a completely dumb making his husband jealous, is why are we here now.

Is a husband enjoying mocking his husband. Enjoying the face his husband is making.

Because that's what a happy husband Dean in love does. He plays around with his husband Castiel mad and enjoy the results: handsome annoyed (jealous) face.

Another example of this was the scene in which Dean talks about Amara and him having a "thing".

Sammy's face here is also a thing like WTH ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT, DEAN? And Castiel is "WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY TO YOUR HUSBAND, WHICH IS ME?"

And not just this scene but the one where Dean cut him off in the phone when Castiel asked him for Amara? LMAO. People, that's very, very a lover's game.

Dean is playing with Castiel because he is hopelessly in love with him and because he is flirting and happy and wants to enjoy Castiel's reactions. Because they're in love. Loudly in love.

Last thing I'm gonna say about this episode is, Dean was waiting for Castiel in this scene.

When Castiel comes back with Jack, he was about to leave and Dean stops him, by asking him where was he going. Castiel says they just came back with Jack, and he was in his room, and ghey didn't want to wake Dean up... but but, Dean was already awake, in fact, the whole buddy language is yelling... I WAS WAITING FOR YOI CAS, WITH A WHISKEY BOTTLE TO HAVE A DRINK TOGETHER.

Because Dean bows his head, avoiding Castiel's gaze, kind of flustered cutie in love who wants to spend time with his husband.

This is because after Purgatory 2.0 they made the mating dancing I'm 15x10, they got married in episode 15x12 and now they're in the honeymoon. That's why Dean behaves so dummy. Hahahaha.

To Conclude:

These episodes showed us a happy Dean in love, making his husband mad just to enjoy it.

Poor Castiel he didn't see it coming...

SPN Season 15 Spoiler Sheet, update 8/31

Waited until that second trailer came out to post. I am LIVING with all this new content! Mind the disclaimer and check it out under the cut.

DISCLAIMER: This is gathered info from various sources. This is not confirmed information. Stuff in this WILL be wrong. Don’t take this too seriously. This is for fun. Also, if you use this info for another publication, please let me know as a courtesy. Don’t be a dick. It's all out there, but it hurts to see my same phrasing on other publications after all the work I’ve done to consolidate it…

General Info (oldest to newest). This is a blend of pre-COVID and post COVID, so some might change.

They are adding a whole extra day to filming to do the final scene. They will film the final scene last. (Implies logistics- lots of returning people?) PRE COVID SPOILER

In an interview, Kripe indicated that the series ending would have “peace” for Sam and Dean

Not much new at the TCA’s, but it was said it is “unlikely” Jeffery Dean Morgan will be back since his last appearance was such a good end note. There were some jokes about a Castiel spin off.

There will be a special tribute ep (Post COVID talk seems to indicate this will stil happen)

Misha will be in 15 out of 20 episodes this season (he’s missed 3 so far and I suspect will miss 14 and 16, unclear about 19).

Cas’ deal with the Empty may come up later in the season.

Jack will be a critical part of the ending of the show

Dean and Amara’s connection will be explored

There will be a bunker themed episode (MarySue article)

In one of his cookbook interviews, Misha used the word “we” several times when talking about the final scene of Supernatural. He said that would be the last scene they shoot. It seemed to imply that he was in the scene, but that could be open to interpretation.

JaxCon/Vegas Con spoilers:

Misha said the ending was “happier than he expected” but also had some sadness. He later used “sad and redemptive”

Misha mentioned that Claire will be mentioned on the show, but as of yet not appear.

Dean says the line “stop killing my people” (to god?)

Jensen said he doesn’t see how the story could continue past this season, but Jared said its more of “a see you later”

Misha confirmed he’s in the final scene, but he also indicated he had one week of filming left (total?) PRE COVID SPOILER

Al Cal posted a pic of a “thrown away” call sheet that seem to indicate Micheal, Lucifer, and a character named “Betty” interacting in the bunker. Unclear as to the validity.

There will be a flashback episode

Charlie (original flavor) will return

Filming will resume on Aug 18th. Per Canadian policy, they must quarantine for two weeks. Those quarantining seems to include:

Fairly Clear: Jared, Jensen, Jake Abel (Micheal), Rob Benedict (Chuck/God) Mark Pelligrino (Lucifer), Al Cal (didn't need to quarantine, but he is definitely on set)

Unclear/Rumored: Misha (he is being deliberately cagey), Osric Chau (Kevin- but likely for another project, he was a week ahead of everyone else) Jim Beaver (Bobby) flew to Vancouver on 8/26, so he could make it for the last couple days of filming with a quarantine

No idea: Shoshannah Stern and Ruth

Reasons Unlikely: Sam Smith (chemo treatment), Kim Rhodes (working at a camp during quarantine)

Jensen said sp 19 is more of a season finale, while 20 is a series finale. Repeated in interviews/livestreams.

Megan Fitz. complimented both Dabb’s and Glynn’s writing on twitter. Not sure if it is in reference to rewrites or the special retrospective that is planned.

Jensen indicated that the ending did change per COVID protocols. Unclear how much.

Misha is being very, very cagey about where he is. Some live streams seem to indicate he is not at home, but he has yet to confirm- his presence in 19/20 is hard to track. In an interview with Metaverse, he was in bed in a hotel looking space and you could see mountains in the background. He was not on set for the first week of filming, so he could be a week behind.

Misha has thrown around the words “final” and “what he <Misha> would have wanted” per Cas’ ending. “Sad/Proud” and “poignant” were also used.

The final episodes will premier October 8th. The finale will air Nov 19th in conjunction with an hour long special.

A trailer was released on 8/27. Scenes included:

A moving speech from Sam to Dean

(Possibly from 18) A teary conversation between Dean and Cas

Injured Dean being helped by Cas in the bunker

Jack breaking some cuffs/bring thrown into a wall/saying he has to kill god

Dean and his grenade launcher and a purple nightgown

Sam in a sweater vest getting a gun from under a pillow

A glimpse of a body with “Lust” written above it/a matronly woman (I think the villain from 14) saying “Boys”

Ghost Dean? Little Sam cutting off a hand

Some intermixed scenes from past episodes

A second trailer was released on 8/31. Scenes included:

A monologue from Billie about god coming to destroy the planet plus her banging on a bunker door (with her hand all gooey) and striking someone with her sythe

Jack continuing his speech about killing god but expanding that he has a ritual to do

Lots of red danger lights in the bunker/ 3 people getting tossed around in the bunker/Chuck in the bunker

Chuck saying he doesn't believe Sam and Dean can kill him

Young Sam and not ghost Young dean

Dean angrily driving the Impala then saying “its time”

Production shut down as a precaution for coronavirus on 3/13, two days into filming. It is scheduled to start again on Aug 18th.

Jensen indicated there might be some re-writes for this ep to account for COVID protocols.

When they started filming, they indicated they were on day two. So maybe they could only use some of the scenes they shot? Then they added an extra day all called it day 9. COVID protocols makes things take longer

AlCal was definitely on set.

Jake Abel is definitely on set, and he posted an instagram story with his trailer and Lucifer’s (Mark Pelligrino)

Some filming was done at a gas station called Showalter’s (name of the director) with Jared, Jensen, and Alex

Rob Benedict posted it was his last day in Vancouver, indicating we won't see Chuck past this episode? Or very very briefly in 20? Jake Abel posted a similar message, also baiting fans about Misha’s whereabouts

theory: they heard Billie say in 15x18 that Jack would be useful to God's ending, so maybe Sam is saying That Stuff out loud in case Chuck is listening; it's a red herring and Sam knows Chuck's End will come at Jack's hand, but he can't say so.

I'm interested to see whether they address another New Death in the Final Ep, but mostly excited to see Cas and Eileen(?) back with the boys, what happens with The Empty and Heaven, and ofc where their lives go from here.

Thoughts on sdcc weekend? Though G was there, I've read in few places that they were visibly showing strains and it wasn't the "happy" stuff they wanted to portray. The J2 content was slow this year.

we got cute j2 pics and moments and apparently j2 did that scene in titanic before jack and rose kiss in the gag reel so i cant wait to see it

now what i wanted to see was what would be the consequences of jared going at gen on instagram for his bd and how they will interact and well jared still didn’t want to have anything to do with her and thats awesome

basically he just did one forced fake shout out to her during the panel, and it’s so obvious that it was just to say “look! gen is here! wow we’re so married!!!” in front of everybody and he called her the “mother of his children” during one interview so yeah not my wife or anything, he just said smth a divorced dad would say and there was ZERO pics of them together on gen’s insta, ZERO fan pics of them close to each other, gen was so far behind jared in one vid and he couldn’t care less about her, there’s only pics of him with shep

this sdcc looked like it was jared’s visitation right, he was NEVER with her this week and they couldnt bother to do the OTT shit they usually do during sdcc

the only thing that happened is that jared deleted his “this birthday sucked” comment on gens insta and it looks like he only did it now because he got to see his kids yesterday lmao like “see you’re nice with me ill be nice with you”

anyway j/g cant stand each other its amazing lol

apart from that it was just the regular press for the show so wtv

and the only reason we got that much content last year was because they were promoting the fuck out of scoobynatural thats all

J2 SIGHTING @ the CASINO after AHBL8 made me really happy bc it tells us so many wonderful things: 1- After days stuck together at the con J2 again choose to spend their free time together, and I’d like to remind us that Jen has told that he’s not much into gambling, so he’s basically there to be with Jar! 2- I can’t help but think that Jen appearing out of nowhere when the fan decided to walk up to Jar and politely stopping them (cit. “grabbing…”) was Jen purposely playing interference: why? Maybe so the fan wouldn’t disturb him when he was focused on the game, maybe not to leave him alone to face a fan in a non controlled environment if he was feeling tense/anxious for some reason. Anyway, I think once again Jen was taking care of Jar! 3- I think gambling is a waste of money, potentially addictive, unless it’s poker or black jack bc those require skill: I’m happy we got an outside confirmation that Jar is successfully using his great math skills for black jack! He’s a smart cookie, indeed ;) And can I just point out the obvious and say that it’s so rare to find in the same person both a strong logical/analytical side, shown by Jared’s math skills, and a strong emphatic side that we all know and cherish and that also allows Jared to be a great actor!! I’m just sorry that these gifts from nature come with a side of anxiousness and depression :( I guess this turned into a Jared Appreciation Post ^_^“, and the whole thing got kinda too long… hope you don’t mind my rambling, but I just love sharing my thoughts with such a wonderful listener as yourself!! - Italian Anon

Isn’t it wonderful to see the J’s out and about together? They obviously had the “excuse” to do so by working together over the weekend, but even then seeing them hang out openly is a treat these days.

Isn’t it funny that the fan story of Jensen stepping in before she reached Jared says that she didn’t even notice Jensen before? That just speaks volumes of how insanely good Jensen is at being stealthy. He was wearing a black cap and a hoodie, probably trying to avoid attention and just waiting on Jared like a good husband. ;)

Can you imagine his patience? The fan said she and her friend were watching Jared play for nearly three hours and they didn’t see Jensen at all during that time? Obviously he could’ve been strolling around, having drinks, taking pics with those couple of fans and such, but still! Gambling is Jared’s thing and I imagine Jensen could’ve been pretty bored if he stayed there all night. But what wouldn’t he do for his boy? :)

You are so right, friend. Jared is such a unique man - intelligent, kind and sensitive. I’m constantly in awe of both of the J’s dazzling personalities and the dynamics of their relationship! Neither of them is perfect, but damn are they lovable. I just have such a hard time even trying to imagine a better fit than they are. They’re just... perfect together.

SPN Season 15 Spoiler Sheet, update 9/12

I waited until filming was over to post. Hopefully we will get some interviews in this next month before the show starts airing again. We also usually get episode an synopsis two weeks before airing and photos one week before airing, on Fridays.

General Info (oldest to newest). This is a blend of pre-COVID and post COVID, so some might change.

They are adding a whole extra day to filming to do the final scene. They will film the final scene last. (Implies logistics- lots of returning people?) PRE COVID SPOILER This no longer seems to be the case.

In an interview, Kripe indicated that the series ending would have “peace” for Sam and Dean

Not much new at the TCA’s, but it was said it is “unlikely” Jeffery Dean Morgan will be back since his last appearance was such a good end note. There were some jokes about a Castiel spin off.

There will be a special tribute ep airing the same day as the finale

Misha will be in 15 out of 20 episodes this season (he’s missed 3 so far and I suspect will miss 14. Not sure about 16, unclear about 19/20).

Cas’ deal with the Empty may come up later in the season.

Jack will be a critical part of the ending of the show

Dean and Amara’s connection will be explored

There will be a bunker themed episode (MarySue article)- episode 14

JaxCon/Vegas Con spoilers:

Misha said the ending was “happier than he expected” but also had some sadness. He later used “sad and redemptive”

Misha mentioned that Claire will be mentioned on the show, but as of yet not appear.

Jensen said he doesn’t see how the story could continue past this season, but Jared said its more of “a see you later”

Filming will resume on Aug 18th. Per Canadian policy, they must quarantine for two weeks. Those quarantining seems to include:

Jensen said sp 19 is more of a season finale, while 20 is a series finale. Repeated in interviews/livestreams.

Megan Fitz. complimented both Dabb’s and Glynn’s writing on twitter. Not sure if it is in reference to rewrites or the special retrospective that is planned.

Jensen indicated that the ending did change per COVID protocols. Unclear how much.

Misha has thrown around the words “final” and “what he <Misha> would have wanted” per Cas’ ending. “Sad/Proud” and “poignant” were also used.

The final episodes will premier October 8th. The finale will air Nov 19th in conjunction with an hour long special.

Misha is in the final scene, per pre COVID interviews. I think this changed after COVID.

Jensen indicated filming would take two weeks, longer than usual (looks like a 9 day shoot, with a day off for Labor Day)

According to Superwiki, 9/3 was the last day on the bunker set, the final days are on location.

Scene “28” took several days and seemed to go across both 19 and 20? So they might have done some combo filming?

Filming locations seemed to include a barn (pic with a stunt guy showed wooden walls and straw) and a lake (not the mountain lake from 19). Filming signs spotted at Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve.

There was a pic of J2 with baby on a bridge. Baby had her original plates. They seem to be wearing the same clothes they were in the pilot. There may be grey (??) In their hair, but that could be lighting

Misha posted some creation videos, saying he had been on an impromptu camping trip. He was back in his house. They were posted on the last day of filming and he had pretty decent scruff. He also mentioned that is was the last day of filming and he wasn't up there.

The show officially wrapped at 6:25 on 9/10
