I generally avoid the musical endeavors of actors I am crushing on because often they are not as great at one as they are at the other. This is not an issue for Conathan. Au where scarecrow kidnaps Tim and gives him a new fear toxin, this one slower to increase paranoia. Why? Because plot. Anyway, they test Tim when they get him back and the results come out negative (false negative) and Tim says he doesn't feel anything-- he has a fear of betrayal from his closest friends and family. It starts on a normal evening, Tim's updating his cases when Dick walks down to do his own cases, when all of a sudden, Dick tells Tim he's worthless. Tim freezes and Dick just continues on. He's worthless, a good for nothing, Dick really did fire him, so why is he still here? All with the same sickeningly sweet smile Dick always has on his face. "Tim." Tim blinks and Dick's far away from him, getting a cup of coffee from the designated bat-coffee station. "You weren't responding there. You alright? Catching enough Z's?" Tim blinks again. Wasn't he just-- didn't he just-- he shakes his head and forces out a snort. "Gross, don't try to sound young Dick. You're 30 years old."

Dick puts on an exaggerated expression of hurt. "Excuse you, Tim. I'm still one with the hipsters." He says, striking a pose close to teens during his youth. "See this? I've still got the moves, I'm cool, hip, and young."

Tim laughs, shoving his worry off. Maybe it was tiredness and insecurity getting to him again. "If you have to convince me you're still young, then obviously you're not."

"And if you have to convince me that you're still worth something, then obviously you're not." Tim stops laughing, his shoulders going tense.

"...what?" Tim blinks again and Dick's head tilts. "I asked if you wanted some coffee too. Hey, your hearrings going bad. Maybe you're not so young either, mr hip and cool." He snorts, rolling his eyes.

Tim shakes his head. "I... i uh--i think... I think I need to head to bed. Maybe."

Both of Dick's brows arches up at that. "This early? Patrol hasn't even started yet?"

Tim nods, "yeah- I'm skipping. Just for today. Maybe. I think I really need the sleep, do you think I can cash in a favor? Or do I just leave this--" he gestures towards the batcomputer, "--for later?"

Dick humms. "I guess... leave it for later? Tim, are you okay? Do we need to check for head injuries?"

Tim shakes his head again. "No, none of that. Don't want to waste anybody's time. I'll just... head to bed. Night." He stands up and makes his way to the stairs, ignoring the way he feels eyes staring at him from all corners of the room, watching his every step.
