Seeing reactions after this episode is actually slightly hysterical? It proves that this fandom can be so blind-sighted by characters relations, that they forget what show they are watching. Like, I have always been a self-proclaimed Roman-girl, because I find him compelling and extremely psychologically interesting, and like all of these characters, to a certain extent, I do empathise with him on the level of trauma that he went through. But why the fuck are people surprised that THIS is how he behaved in this episode is beyond me. Oh, suddenly Roman is dead to you because he behaved in the way that was very much consistent with who he is? That’s who all of these people are, like come on, what do we think we are watching here? You didn’t really think he will suddenly become a defender of democracy because it serves a greater good of the country? He was the one to fucking choose Mencken as a president, he cherry-picked him for Logan, because he knew that their views align, that Mencken will be a smart business decision. This whole thing is a transactional procedure - they needed to get someone who will be willing to serve their corrupt interests. Roman doesn’t see a problem in having fascist as a president, because he will never be touched by the consequences of having that kind of man in power. He is very much safe at the top of the mountain, and who the fuck cares what will happen to the peasants at the bottom of the chain? In this way, he imitates Logan the most, because in the end of the day, people are units to him, to all of them really, some of them are just more willing to admit this than others.
Also, like, “uuu, Roman was such a misogynist to Shiv this episode, he just didn’t listen to her at all”. Look, can we stop being delusional here for a second or is it some sort of selective memory situation? Roman is a misogynist. Kendall is a misogynist. Shiv, in fact, has a lot of internalised misogyny going on, and her being a woman never stopped her from pushing other women under the fucking bus, so let’s be real here for a second. And that is not to be said in defence of Roman, frankly nothing what I’m saying here is supposed to justify his behaviour in this or any other episode, but it’s more of like… reality check? I know that Roman’s self-destructive spiral and semi-decent behaviour at the beginning of this season might have clouded certain aspects of who he is, but please, go back to season 3 and count all the instances of him throwing misogynistic and, frequently incestuous jokes and innuendo, at Shiv? How many times he undermines her position on the basis of her being a woman? Or how Kendall, for that matter, uses similar arguments in 03x02? All the siblings use aspects of each other as weapons. Kendall is undermined because he is unstable, because he is a drug-addict, because he has a tendency of flying off on the cloud of mania, and crashing in the heap of depression. Shiv is crossed out because she is a woman, because she frankly has no real experience in the firm (which, although people might be super angry about that, because she is such a “girlboss” apparently, but this is a factual argument), because of her relationship to Tom and tendency to take several sides at the same time (with not much thought put into it). And Roman is frequently undermined because he is a freak and a pervert, because “there is something wrong with him”, because he is the weakest dog that is most easily manipulated, who crumples like a wet tissue if only to receive a bit of affection. They all weaponise their “weak” points against each other, because this dog-eats-dog mindset is focal to who they are as a family, to how they were brought up, to how Logan wanted them to be. So please, let’s not be surprised, when Roman suddenly uses misogyny as an argument against Shiv, because it’s not sudden at all, and it’s always been there.
I think what we have on our hands, is the same situation we had in 03x07 during Kendall’s birthday (and previous episode with Mencken), where some people are so outraged by Roman, and by his ability to shove the knife where it hurts, that they suddenly cross him out completely. Again, all these characters are bad people, there was never any doubt about that. They are compelling because of the complexities of their familial relationships, because of their childhood trauma and the consequences that this trauma has on them as adults. But they are still completely reprehensible as human beings, and I think some viewers forget about that and then get outraged when show about awful people features awful people. And I’m sure, either in next or final episode, something will happen and Roman will become sympathetic again, and he will regain his position as a “poor meow meow”, just as he did in the finale of season 3. Its always a fucking carousel with this character and people get sucked in and have their eye’s covered just to realise that nothing really changed, and nothing will change, because in this show people, at their core, remain the same.

Just finished watching Wendigoon's video about Hisashi Ouchi and had a terrible, awful, no-good DP prompt idea come into my head. Come suffer with me.
So the Fentons constantly threaten to tear ghosts apart "molecule by molecule" right? What if they managed to make an anti-ghost weapon that made good on that threat? One that tore apart ghostly DNA or ectoplasm, and just straight-up turned any ghost hit by it into green goop, melted within seconds like Danny's clones?
So I imagine that at some point after destroying a couple of ghosts with this new weapon, Jack and Maddie finally manage to corner Phantom somehow. Terrified, Danny is left with no choice but to try to explain who and what he is, hoping to all the Ancients that it will be enough to stop them from hurting him.
Unfortunately for him, the Fentons don't really listen at first and shoot him point blank.
Danny puts his arms up to protect himself and closes his eyes, trembling in abject fear, imagining himself melting away into a pile of goop right in front of his parents. He desperately hopes it's quick and painless. He waits for the end.
...and waits
... and waits
The Fentons and Danny both feel shocked, but Danny eventually laughs (a bit hysterically) and continues explaining his accident, intensely relieved that his half-human nature had protected him from this weapon.
Once he explains everything, the Fentons apologize with tears in their eyes for how they had treated him. They accept him for who he is, and promise to do their best to learn more about ghosts' true natures. They decide to use their inventions in an actually scientific, ethical way, to learn more about this culture and people. Danny and Jazz are both ecstatic. Everything seems perfect. Sure, Danny might have thrown up and passed out the minute they got home from that little talk, and sure, his skin turned a bit red and painful where he got hit, but that was the extent of it, right? His human half purged the effects of the weapon from his body, no harm no foul.
But they all forget that while Danny's DNA is half human, it is also half ghostly in nature, and the weapon just tore through those parts of him like bullets through paper.
A week later, Danny's skin starts to feel like it's burning

when yuuji and megumi finally got together, what were everyone’s reactions? like inumaki and panda obviously threatened yuuji in the most nonsensical way possible but what about gojo and nanami and the others? like finally seeing their little boy grow up to be old enough to date and immediately going for the worst possible candidate in a lot of people’s minds *cough—the zenin—cough*.
if gojo was on the verge of a mental breakdown from just giving Megumi The Talk, i can’t imagine just how hard it hit him that his little sea urchin was growing up so fast.
What must be understood is that the second years have been following their relationship from its inception like it’s their favorite soap opera. Maki clocked it when Megumi tried to kill Kamo Noritoshi with an elephant over him and all of them have been overly invested in it since. Those are their beloved kohais. They’re both so stupid and vulnerable. Like idiot babies. They want them to be happy idiot babies who hold hands.
Yuuta would fight special grade curses with one hand and text Maki with the other to find out if they were dating yet and maki would text back “no but they each killed a special grade and megumi has a domain expansion now” and Yuuta would text back “what am I MISSING”. Inumaki thought if they gave them nine years or so megumi would work himself up to a hand graze and Yuuta would freak out because they don’t have that kind of TIME. Panda texted Yuuta in a panic weeks after everyone else figured it out to tell him that he thinks megumi and the kid who’s sukunas vessel like each other and Yuuta had to pretend to be surprised as if the entire matter was not giving him stress sweats from Africa.
The unofficial reaction was that maki sent a gif of a ship coming into port into the group chat and everyone celebrated like it was new years and the ball had just dropped because thank fuck it finally happened.
As a side note, the second years all consider themselves parents of three and are only half joking about that fact. It’s so hard raising teens. The little shits keep fighting things. None of them have any social skills. All three of them are completely feral. They’re pretty sure nobara bit a purse snatcher the last time they went out into the city.
But that was the unofficial reaction. They can’t tell Megumi or Yuuji about that.
Yuuta actually gets a call from Megumi to tell him that he has a boyfriend, and he had to pretend like all this was news to him as if he had not spent the past three months more invested in this than anything in his own life. Yuuta told him that he was happy for him, and that he couldn't wait to meet Yuuji, and lived in blissful ignorance about the fact that Yuuji screamed into his own pillow for twenty minutes that night because Megumi came and told him that Okkotsu-senpai was important to him and he'd like it if they got to know each other.
Maki started a campaign of teasing Megumi about his new boyfriend, because she sort of loves giving her little nephew shit. Megumi wonders why life has to be this hard.
Inumaki and Panda had already given Yuuji the shovel talk (it was part of what made Yuuji realize he was completely in love with Megumi) and had a stunningly moving congratulations and dating advice speech for Yuuji that featured a power point presentation.
Its moving nature was slightly impacted by the fact that Inumaki gave it.
Inumaki patted him manfully on the back, and Panda gave him a brotherly hair ruffle, and Yuuji continued to be confused as to what the hell was up with the second years.
The issue with Gojo is that they can never tell when he's taking the piss or if he's being genuine. Like, Gojo loves giving him a hard time. It's a classic "Fushiguro is getting hit on" conundrum. Is he actually devastated that his little boy is growing up or is he just doing it to fuck with them?
Megumi insists that he's doing it to be an idiot and refuses to speak to him for days, which does not help with all the weeping.
Whatever the case, it's enough to annoy Nanami, because he keeps agonizing over how his baby was swept up by some jock who was going to steal his sweetness and Nanami would take offense on Yuuji's behalf because Itadori Yuuji is a gentleman and a delightful young man and Gojo should be glad that Megumi is dating someone like him.
Megumi wonders why life has to be this hard sometimes.
Nanami is just happy for them both and gives them both private congratulations wherein he tells them that he's glad they have each other and that they are good together. He is the most normal of them all.

Lost love is sweeter when it’s finally found.
Thena meets Gil, a few months after his death, again.
Will their souls match again?
Thenamesh AU 👀
Thena's hands had never shook when facing down an enemy. She was the Warrior Eternal. She didn't have any reason to shake in the face of a fight. But if her weapons were forged of steel, she could imagine they would be rattling terribly right now.
"Thena?"
She tried to keep her breathing under control, to keep her blade level at the approaching target. She set her lips in a thin line, "close enough."
His face flinched, like she'd hurt him. "Thena, it's me."
It wasn't. It wasn't. It wasn't. It wasn't him. How many times had she imagined this? How many times had her brain whispered sweet things to her like this? The entire reason she had chosen to leave the planet was because that house - that little, solitary house back in Australia - was full of whispers.
Full of visions of Gilgamesh, alive and well, standing at the sink and inviting her to taste his latest creation. He would smile at her, the apples of his cheeks turning up the corners of his eyes. The sun would him just so and emphasize the softness his handsome face possessed.
The Gilgamesh before her put his hand to his chest. "It's me."
Thena tried to keep her eyes solidly open and in front of her. But the way he pleaded with her made her heart twist. She would not cry before the enemy. The voice of the man she loved would not bring her to her knees.
"Thena," he took another step closer. She re-gripped her weapon and he held his palms out to her. "Thena, look at me. It's Gilgamesh."
"No," she said aloud to herself, perhaps in some futile hope that her words would ground herself. That thing in the cave had said the same to her. She would not allow her mind to lure her into surrender.
His face changed as he thought. Gilgamesh never was good at hiding how he felt, or what he was thinking. He wore his heart on his sleeve. He had--he had worn his heart on his sleeve.
Because this was not him.
"Sweetheart," he changed tactic, and she tried not to make it obvious that her whole back snapped straighter. How dare he use that name for her? "It's Gil."
Gil: her Gilgamesh, love of her never ending life and partner in a world all their own. Not even their team and family knew the extent to which they had been connected. Two souls, completely alone, together, at the ends of the earth. The man she swore to love on any planet.
She knew what Mahd Wy'ry felt like. Knew its sharp, stinging pecking at her temples. Her vision would blur as her eyes flickered white. And there was none of that in this moment. This wasn't Mahd Wy'ry showing her a vision of her love. This wasn't even that thing in the cave using Gilgamesh's words.
"It's Gil," he repeated, walking closer again. He held out his palm to her, even his fingertips leaning out to her longingly. "Give me your hand."
Thena kept her stance, but the sword vanished from her grasp, dissolving into the air like sparks from a fire. Her fingers shook, reaching for him and dreading the second they would make contact.
"Easy," he spoke so directly to her, no fear, no hesitation. He spoke like he knew her. "I'm right here."
He would say that to her when she was struggling. When her head was screaming at her and the line between what was in front of her what was in the past faded. He would reach out his hand and say he was right there.
Their fingers slid together. It felt familiar. She didn't let him pull her in, but he didn't drag her. He let her decide. Her fingers fluttered against his. His hands were so much warmer and stronger. Her fingers looked diminutive embraced by his.
"It's me," he whispered as their fingers folded closed together, locking their hands pressed palm to palm.
She lifted her eyes from their bound hands to him. He looked like her Gilgamesh. He felt like her Gilgamesh. Her heart was pounding on the inside of her chest, insisting that she fold herself into his arms and collapse completely into his embrace.
If this was, in fact, her Gilgamesh.
The Warrior Eternal tilted her head. The hand felt like the right hand. His heart sounded like Gil's did. But she'd been shown things before. She could trust him no more than she could trust her own Wy'ry mind.
His face fell as she pulled her hand back to herself. His eyes still looked the same, in that warm brown that made her want to drag the sky down so he could pluck stars for his blueberry pie.
"Come," she ordered, standing aside so he could move ahead of her. She would not be turning her back to this thing yet. "The others should see you."
They would confirm if this was, in any way, her Gilgamesh.
"Okay," he smiled, doing as she asked without a second thought. He knew she was the Warrior Eternal. Walking ahead of her could have deadly consequences. But he strode in front as if they were walking home from the market back in Australia. He glanced over his shoulder, "so-"
"Eyes forward!" She pulled her Cosmic Energy to her hand again, just to poke the back of his armour pauldron. She could easily 'slip' and jab into the joints of his armour. And he knew it.
"Sorry, sorry," he chuckled. This was no laughing matter, but he was completely relaxed.
"Stop laughing."
"That just makes me wanna laugh more."
The two of them in the kitchen, her telling him to stop laughing and him clutching his belly in an attempt to do so. Two forks in a skillet of pie on the stove and light streaming in through the hole in the wall they called a window.
"Keep moving," she directed needlessly. She would act the jailer until she was certain he was any Gilgamesh, of any kind.
His hand extended back to her. He wanted to hold hers. They would walk back from the market in Australia, hand in hand, walking for hours back out to their solitude under a sun that could kill a human. She would point out lizards scuttling about and he would observe the plant life.
"You can say you dragged me back," he even suggested, still requesting her hand with his. "You're keeping me detained."
Thena glared at him until his eyes were forward again (as instructed). He knew her--knew the challenge he was presenting. If she wanted to hold his hand, then she would! She needed no excuse for it.
He grunted as she twisted his arm more into position, behind his back and at such an angle that even they would find it uncomfortable. His gait changed but he kept walking as she pushed at his wrist against his back. "Okay, yeah, this works too."
The Warrior Eternal smiled faintly to herself. She was still a Fighter, after all. She kept her grip around his wrist firm as she walked him back to the others. He certainly felt solid though. And with just the tip of her finger to slide into the valley of his palm, she affirmed that he was warm, too.
