| Trigun Stampede Episode 6 Ramble

Before writing this whole thing I’m about to go on, I just want to say that i will be talking about major trimax spoilers, specifically for volume 10 as well as spoilers for tristamp (obviously)! so if you haven’t read trimax, maybe skip this post! Anyways, onto the ramble!

I’ve had this thought for a while now — since I’ve first watch stampede — but I’m dumb and don’t know how to out my thoughts into words. Along with this, I’m sure there are others who have made posts talking about this exact thing but I don’t care, I just want to brainrot and cry over this.

So, episode 6 of tristamp — “Once Upon a Time in Hopeland” — is the episode in which we as the audience are finally given a glimpse into Wolfwood and Livio’s childhood at the orphanage. And immediately, something stands out about this entire scene — the artstyle changes.

Instead of the typical CG/3D models that we the audience are used to, we are given this sketchy, simplistic, 2D animation style instead — almost similar to that of which you’d find in a children’s book. This of course, is completely different in comparison to what Tristamp had shown us previously. All the other flashbacks we had been shown thus far had still been rendered in CG. But this. This scene in particular is the only one with this art style. With that being said, it’s safe to assume that Studio Orange did this with the specific purpose of making this scene feel special and distinct. To make it stand out and to signal it’s importance.

Now, with that being said, why would studio orange go out of there way to make a distinct artistic style just for this moment? Not to mention, why make it only geared towards Wolfwood and Livio? Well… I think studio orange is going to use it in relation to Wolfwoods death.

Like, okay hear me out, I’ve seen some people say that there worried wolfwood won’t die next season (for whatever reason) but like THE DEATH FLAGS ARE ALREADY THERE!

LIKE!! THE FUCKING BELL?? HELLO?? JUST THROW IN SOME CONFETTI WHILE YOUR AT IT! (IM SOBBING SO LOUDLY)

But anyways, back on topic. I think they’ll use this 2D artstyle in a way to make wolfwoods death hit like a fucking train. Like… after rewatching tristamp for the second time, I couldn’t help but feeling like this whole artstyle choice is going to bite us in the ass later.

Like…y’all… I can see the fucking confetti falling in this artstyle…

Now, this last segment of this ramble is just gonna be me speaking in “what if’s” and just spewing out made up scenes based on this idea since obviously we have no clue what studio orange plans on doing. But anyways, here it goes.

So like…imagine studio orange finally adapting the couch scene, with Vash and Wolfwood having their last drink. Now obviously, the scene would prolly go similarly to the manga, with Wolfwood saying that he’s sorry for saying his smiles were empty and vash telling him to not say stupid things. Cue in the confetti beginning to fall, and in Wolfwoods perspective it shifts art style. And to make it even more fucked up, they could do the thing were it flashes between this and then back to the normal CG models; between Wolfwoods contentment of his death and being at peace with it — depicted like a children book — versus the CG — the true reality of it… the one vash is experiencing as he begs god for just one thing.

On a side note, I’m so so so fucking scared and excited for what Orange has in store, considering the fact that they’ve already paralleled the one fucking confetti frame from the manga (which I will not show cuz I cant look at those panels but if you know, you know) and like, I don’t know, I think I’m just gonna be a mess when that arc gets adapted.

Anyways, UH, I KNOW THERES PROLLY A POST THAT HAS SAID THE SAME SHIT BEFORE BUT BETTER BUT I JUST HAVE HAD IT IN MY BRAIN FOREVER SO UH YEAH!

A Lovely Surprise

This is my very first Fanfic, I've been wanted to start this account but never knew how to start it. It's in second person. So, I'm very sorry if it turns out bad and he's out of character.

word count: 681

So further ado, Nanami Kento x Reader.

It's a Friday and you're still at your life-sucking job, you couldn't wait any longer until you could go home. In your head the clock that sat on your desk was a ticking time bomb, as more time went by less time until you could see your husband, Nanami Kento. Which was your main motivation to get home.

Then the clock strung. At the speed of light, you leaped up out of your seat packing up your belongings. You fine felt a rush of relieve come down you. You couldn't be any happier, you practically flew to car. As your journey from your job to your humble abode took even more years of your life, you've finally drove into your driveway noticing a certain car wasn't there.

Your suspicions grew as you unlocked the door to a Kento empty house. You don't recall any message from him saying he would be out the house. So, you just do your usual after work routine, making your way to your shared bedroom to destress. You stumble upon a note.

-Dear Y/N, I've got a special surprise for my lovely wife. But you'll have to wait for this treat it will be sweet and spicy. Love, your loving husband.

You had to reread that note to process if you truly read it correctly. This isn't your usual impassive husband. The same one you've known since his emo haircut days back in high school. He's never been this flirtatious before, this reminded you too much of a certain white haired, blue bug-eyed idiot.

It weirded you out on the note, but you looked on optimistic view of things. You moved on with your life and got dressed into some comfortable clothes. Time has gone passed; you were simply just lying on the couch rewatching nana for the 100th time, you could hear the sound of the front door opening.

There he was your knight in shining armour, Kento. Which in his arms you could see your favourite type of flowers and huge plushie of rilakkuma.

"There's the love of my life." He praised. "Don't just stand there love, these are for you."

It was like someone had kicked you right in the voice box. You were speechless. It wasn't your guy's anniversary or anything. He isn't the type of man to finesse you for something, it was a lovely act from him. So, you accept it.

"Oh my god, I can't simply accept this Kento." You Insisted.

"Oh, love don't think you're unworthy of my love." Kento reminded.

"No that's not what I meant, it's just I'm shocked by the sudden presents." You retorted.

Kento was taken a back. There was no reason why a loving husband couldn't shower his wife in gifts. In his eyes she was as hard working as he was, and she was most caring soul he's set is eyes on. He even questions what she saw in him in high school.

As the two exchanged the gifts, you felt bad since you didn't have anything in return. Which he made sure to reassure you it was fine. You sat with Kento as he ate his food, but a little voice in your head was questioning when the spicy part of the treat was to show.

When the man was fully feed, he told you to wait on the bed whilst he took a shower. To entertain yourself with his dispatcher to the bathroom you just scrolled through TikTok.

As you were in the middle of a random part of a movie to look up and see a shirtless Kento at the foot of the bed. Your mind froze on spot, as you took in all of the man you luckily get to call husband.

Kento was the first make a move, slowly crawling up you. Slowly taking all of you in as he straddled you, whispering sweet nothings into your ear. And from there pressing kisses into your neck, by time getting lower. It was mere silence except for your soft moans. He looked up and spoke.

"I love you."

"I love you too."

This was rushed but if I choose to continue writing I'll make sure for it to be proper. OMG im sorry if it's cringe T-T

TOL Rewatch Week One

Just rewatched episode one with beloved mutual @magicaldreamfox1 and AAAAAAAA this show really does so many things to me

I have like a million and one thoughts but two main ones-

I am still so fucking pissed about Khai being made into a genuine asshole for drama reasons in the show instead of just being a dumb slut (affectionate) who thought his feelings for Third were Extra Special Friendship Feelings as if all friends dream about building a life with their bestie and get anxiety over the idea of said bestie not being by their side always.... yeah Khai is so much gayer in the novel y'all don't understand I will never shut up about this particular change. Never ever. HE SHOULD'VE BEEN A SIMP FROM THE GET GO. I get that the drama was important to fill up eps but like they did Khai a grave injustice by erasing so many of the scenes that showed his good side, his scared side, his confused side, his deeply in love with Third side. I will never forgive them for making the show Third biased when the story is supposed to be about Khai's journey.

What would've happened if Two had never intervened. Like I've already written a fic about Third giving up on Khai after overhearing him in That Scene but even then he'd at least tried and like his crush had been acknowledged by people other than him. But what if Two had never found him that night he decided to give up. What if neither Two nor Bone had tried to intervene during that time and Third had pulled away from Khai???? WHY AM I MAKING MYSELF SAD THEY'RE MY FAVOURITE SHIP But like imagine KhaiThird having a friendship break-up imagine Khai losing his fucking mind bc Third was his everything and he just didn't realise it until he'd already lost him imagine them remeeting a few years after they've graduated and Khai desperately trying to get back in Third's good books and Third being his meanest self trying to hide how much he still loves Khai AAAAAAAAA someone write the fic pls i am on my knees begging

Other notable thoughts I had while watching the episode

We should talk more about the fact that Khai went and got his ass beat defending Milk's honour AFTER he found out she was messing with him. Like he just did that huh. And he had no reason to think it would help him get her back or anything he just did it bc he felt like it. My poor lil meow meow my favourite puppy boy I love him.

Khai's not nearly as Straight in ep1 as he'd like to believe. To quote Dreamy, why are you as a man "riding" "charles". He's a bottom. I said what I said.

THE WAY KHAI SAYS LOVE YOU TO THIRD STILL KILLS ME APPARENTLY

Third is the og bl exploiter girlboss. He was capitalising on his sexuality and close male friendships before it was cool.

Two and Bone BOTH knew Third liked Khai in ep1. Two definitely noticed Third in the scene where they wrap up filming, tho he's obviously been eyeing him a while. And Bone absolutely Knew when Third walked away while they were teasing Khai about Milk. He literally frowned at Third walking off and then turned pensively to Khai. Maybe this is when he decided to confront Khai about Third's crush?

Fake Protagonist is still undefeated as best bl ost I said what I said.

Two and Bone are the best friends ever. This friend group is perfection like no other BL has executed a friend group this well, where everyone gets appropriate screentime and no one exists just for comic relief or to further the plot, they all have their story arcs, their own motivations and flaws and endearments, and they don't go off on their own after the show ends. And they ALL actually get along well. Not Me could've had this if the writers weren't Black antis.

It will be so fucking hard to watch one episode of tol per week literally itching to go watch more as I type AAAAAAAAA

- also curiously this episode is missing this sentence from shintaro abt someone rebuilding the city bit by bit which is in the novels and the manga, which is meant to foreshadow saeru's influence. but then again the first 17 manga chapters are taken nearly word-by-word from the novels so maybe thats all it is 🤷

- also it took like 6 minutes for shintaro to leave the house... theres other things being done ofc, establishing shinene's dynamics, quick exposition of how ene ended up with shintaro to begin with, and spilling soda onto the computer and leaving the house. but i feel like it wouldve been better if the anime stuck to what the novels + mr1 does, where ene blares a loud fucking alarm. that quickly establishes shinene's dynamic and easily leads to a So You Must Be Wondering How I Got Here type of thing, and then knock over the soda leave the house bam easy. instead the anime really took its time with like..... idk making shinaro look ikemen. yeahhh not the best choice, especially considered how rushed the last few episodes are gonna be. ok back to watching the anime

- also aku benci x2 like its only futuristic when its convenient which is soo fucking Lazy. theres literally no reason for this story to be set in the future. like all this city scenery is based off actual modern day Kashiwa its just... ugh. barely any care put into this anime at all

What ruins the RTC revival

So i’ve been brainrotting over RTC these last weeks and. watched both bootlegs. while the original holds a dear place in my heart, the revival simply isnt as good. So Im going to rewatch it and write down the reasons why.

DISCLAIMER: LONG POST

AN: please watch the show before reading this. it wont make sense otherwise.

Also. R! is used to talk about the revival character. Likewise, O! is used to talk about the original character. Cause holy shit they are completely different characters.

1. Humanoid Karnak. i refuse to elaborate.

2. “Virgil shall play— the bass”. I loved that delivery, and now it’s gone

3. When explaining the rules about the armrest, Karnak goes a bit too fast, which ruins the comedy for me

4. “I assure you, none of the calls you are about to receive will have life altering consequences (pause. looks down) except for one of you”. THE PAUSE IS GONE. THE PAUSE WAS WHAT MADE IT FUNNY.

5. THE CHOIR FACES THE PUBLIC.

I will elaborate. In the original version, the choir is on the other side of the stage, facing backwards, and only face the public when dead. This helps establish that the stage is the afterlife. THIS VERSION DOESNT DO THAT.

6. R!Mischa looks old. The entire cast looks old, but R!Mischa looks like a 40 year old. Thats a grown ass man sir.

7. No Penny foreshadowing in the newspaper.

8. The segment of "something doesnt feel quite right–" is gone. I loved that segment. I feel its fundamental to introducing us to the characters.

9. No friendly banter between Ocean and Noel during the song :(

10. RICKY ISNT SUPPOSED TO SING YET. Even if hes already dead, the others arent supposed to know he can already talk.

11. On the subject of R!Ricky. The crutches are gone. What the fuck. I know why but i hate why.

12. R!Ocean is the one asking "where are we?". And its not scared, its not confused, its just... a question. O!Constance's delivery is far better.

DEMOCRACY ROCKS!

I hate this delivery. R!Ocean's "Democracy rocks!" was perfect: preppy, upbeat... this singy-songy democracy rocks sucks. O!Ocean wouldve never.

14. I hate R!Ocean. I refuse to elaborate.

Sike! I will. She's doesnt look the "overachiever golden girl" part. I dont mean her looks, i mean her attitude– she seems normal. She seems like a normal girl, shes not even half as annoying! Thats what made O!Ocean great– her being annoying yet lovable!

15. Mischa doesnt grab his crotch :(

Okay i must elaborate. The crotch grabbing may seem weird but its part of the gangsta persona. The psoture this Mischa adopts is simply... not it.

16. That was emasculating...

After the "i am naked child in the wilderness" introduction, O!Mischa says "that was whack". Not emasculating. Hes surprised that hes said that, but he doesnt say that it doesnt represent him. He knows he is vulnerable, and he embraces it. R!Mischa seems embarrassed of this side of him. WHICH IS NOT MY DEAR MISCHA.

17. Instead of giving the discourse, Ricky simply says "Level up". There is no character.

18. On the topic. The choir realises he can speak only now. There is no "The twilight zone" moment, no "It certainly appears that way. Badass" moment. Fuck this.

Sidenote: we're at the 13 min mark

19. R!Jane Doe is less autistic coded. Shes just creepy. Inherently bad.

20. "Playing games where people"s lives are on the table is

Super illegal"

This delivery makes no sense. Why would she say it like that. Why would she move her hips alongside that line.

21. This monologue's delivery is shit. It reads like a comedic monologue, and not a "debate team" monologue.

22. The improv thing. Why would you add that. I mean i know why but why.

23. "IT TAKES TWO WINGS TO FLY–" R!Ocean is a theatre kid in the bad way. O!Ocean was a debate team kid. O!Ocean was better and more in line with the character

24. Instead of singing the "Oh nooOOOooO" she says "Nope. Nope." Why. Oh, I know why!

25. This Ocean can't sing. Im sorry. No offence, but this actress isn't fit for this role. Her voice doesnt adjust to Ocean's registry.

26. Instead of the euphoric "WHAT A RUSH" we get a full of soberbia "What a rush~". R!Ocean is meaner.

I have to note R!Constance is one of the few good things in here. Her delivery is great and her dialogue is good.

27. "And then i got to get on that ride. Thanks" got replaced with a line that makes Ricky seem like an incel

Okay i know that ricky IS horny but hes NOT an incel. "No one wants to make out with the tambourine guy". O!Ricky wouldnt complain about that. He complained about riding the cyclone and DYING.

28. Instead of trying to get a hug, Jane tries to offer up her doll. I just loved that part :( it gives her character.

R!Noel is also good. Not as good as O!Noel, but good. The nativity scene is awkward, but it fits. So im not counting that.

And the transition from Noel to Monique is amazing.

29. But, as much as I like this Noel's acting... the singing is mediocre. It sounds like a karaoke performance. It looks like a karaoke performance. It feels like a karaoke performance.

Its been half an hour. I need help.

31. The dance during "THAT FUCKED UP GIIIIIIIIIIRL" changes and its worse.

32. Again, I hate R!Ocean

33. Every Story's Got a Lesson. Again, she cant sing.

34. The porno bit is gone. It gave Ricky some depth.

35. The Saw V bit is gone too. It was so funny :(

36. The improv thing..... sucks. Constance lets to, and she is supposed to be the restrained girl until her song. It breaks the character. It ruins the surprise.

37. The transition to Mischa's turn is rough as fuck

38. Mischa's backstory here makes him seem like an asshole. The original was this sad story, this one is just angry. Its reductive.

39. He says "Mostly positive feedback" as a bad thing, says it /neg. Doubting. O!Mischa was amazed, loving, said it /pos.

40. It was HILARIOUS when he said "Good for hot dog (raises index, as in "1"), but not so good for Ukraine (raises middle finger too, as in "2") so THANK YOU FOR KILLING MY MOTHER (leaves middle finger up)". GUESS WHAT. THATS GONE AS WELL.

41. The pause before "Autotune will never die" is gone too

42. To put it simply, R!Mischa didnt slay. O!Mischa slayed.

43. Why does Ricky have a box in his head. What the fuck. I know why but why.

44. It takes too fucking long for Mischa to get his. Uh. Thingy around the waist (fajín in spanish).

45. The Talia projection on the sheet/skirts is bad. Im sorry. Its just bad. Not as creative, not as perfectly-timed...

46. I miss the bit where Talia appears in Mischa's chest. As if it were his heart. It was so emotional yo

47. The dubstep part is not as good. I loved the circle with the fortnite dance.

48. Mischa is off tune by the end of the song

49. THE PART WHERE OCEAN IS SPED UP IS GONE.

50. The transition to Ricky is shit. Its just "yo why dont you go next"

51. R!Ricky not smooth. Ocean is weak to her knees for no reason.

52. The backstory changes for no reason???? Hes not disabled he just wont speak????? There truly was no need.

I'll admit it: this man Can Dance

53. UNDERWEAR JUMPSCARE. WHAT THE FUCK.

54. R!Ricky is less autistic coded. Hes just WEIRD. Inherently bad.

55. The space jesus line is delivered badly

56. R!Jane Doe doesnt fly.

Thats my only complaint, and its justifiable. R!Jane Doe is one of the few things done right here.

57. The New Birthday Song is less awkward in the beginning. Less like theyre making it up on the spot and more like they all knew it already.

58. I just realised the bit of LOVE CONQUERS ALL IS GONE.

59. Retroactively, NO PART OF "DO YOU WANT TO KNOW WHAT WOULDVE HAPPENED IF TALIA AND MISCHA HAD MET?" . That was so poetic,,,,,, and now its gone,,,,,,

60. Ocean's breakdown isnt much of a breakdown.

R!Constance. Wow. I love her. She is the only other good thing in here.

61. I HATE R!Ocean

62. R!Ocean doesnt elaborate on why it shouldnt be her. She isnt self aware as the original.

63. The final montage doesnt show us her entire life. Sure, it shows her POV, but theres no old Penny.

64. Karnak breaks and talks normally afterwards.

It is a great show. This is not a decent show. Most of the songs sound off, except for Sugar Cloud and The Ballad of Jane Doe, and the acting is mediocre at best.

Maybe it’s not as bad. Maybe the original is so good that it simply can’t measure up to it.

Heck, maybe i’m conditioned after having watched it thousands of times. Hate and love are two sides of the same coin: perhaps, had i not loved the original so much, i wouldn’t have hated this rendition as profusely.

Regardless, I did not like the Blue Bridge version.

Screw it im making the su post (untagged because I’m not getting into that mess, if you don’t wanna see this stop reading now)

I haven’t watched the show in many years so like take everything I say with a grain of salt, but I’d heard the “space fascists” and “I think we have to kill this guy Steven” kinda criticism a lot before I watched it and it definitely surprised me. I honestly didn’t pick up any of that from the show, and I think the reason is because the show is not actually about Fascism or Murder or even systemic problems in general, it’s about interpersonal harm and it just uses systemic problems as an allegory. Now I’m only talking about the stuff with the diamonds here, there is plenty of commentary on real world systemic issues, but I don’t think the oppressive society of homeworld was intended to be that on any level beyond “persecuting people by putting them into Classes and dehumanizing them is bad” which it is not the first or only media, even children’s media, to say. The diamonds are not ultra efficient dictators with the motives or logic of real fascists, they’re a fucked up family who accidentally made their robots sentient and had a trans kid and have to deal with the consequences. Again, if I rewatched the show I could probably get a better analysis going but the important thing is they are very much not Forgiven at the end; all that happens is that they are convinced to Stop Killing the Protagonists and then do work to undo their fucked up society mostly offscreen. Steven doesn’t like violence because hurting people makes him feel bad, which is fair and true! I think some people don’t understand why anyone would feel bad about hurting someone who’s clearly a Bad Person, but that’s not how it always works in real life. And yeah, it’s a messy show with messy writing and inconsistent metaphors, but I find it really silly to pretend that anyone could actually watch this show and think it’s encouraging genocide. I know this discourse is so beyond irrelevant these days but it just kinda frustrates me because it just makes me feel like I watched the show wrong somehow all those years ago.

woW what a mf’ing throwback ,, lmaoo i went back to rewatch scenes of s3 of narcos just to get a good grasp on his character and i ended up just rewatching the entire season and to say i am entering my obsession once again on this dumb show would be a little underestimat e

BU T i just- i want to personally thank and kiss whoevers hand requested me to write for alvaro ,, alvaro herrera,, BABY HERRERA ??? HOLY SH- he is fine to say the least and im here with my bs yet again- so lets beginnnn

and dd whereeee can i even begin to be honest ,, pinshe alvaro con sus chinitos Y OJOS DE COLOR ?? - i instantly felt weAK, ay dios mio -

this mf definitely has the physical genes to be in the herrera family in obvious terms and i just love the vibe he seemed to carry sorry

like for some reason he gave me the feeling hes the more “crazier” /laid back one and not so tense when it comes down to him and pacho ya feel?

pacho is the one that is somewhat looking over his shoulder just a bit more than alvaro does to an extent -

and the reason i brought this up is because even tho we are not talking about pacho,, the differences they both are in a relationship changes in ways that are shown i feel ? alvaro gives me a different tune and i just wanted to get that into the conversation here since hes related to pacho and we have already gotten a good sense/grasp with him and yeah

and woww ok since i brought this up ? let me just give you guys this overall view on how alvaro is in a relationship by what i think ?

because i just feel it,, i feel like he would be the indulging type you know? the kind that is,, if you wanted to so something or go somewhere,, you bet his ass is already tagging along with you -

he just “lives in the moment” is what im sort of going for and i dont know why he reminds me of that overall

so before i move on,,, i was debating whether or not to include this but obviously if youre reading this i added it and left it as it was,,

but for a hot minute i could not decide how the first meeting between the two of you went -

because i kind of saw two ways this could go,, like he may have just met you randomly,, youre not associated with anyone,, youre just his nena and thats it -

i sort of imagined him just starting to bring you around and if anyone asks he just says some shit like “oh es una amiga” and just leaves it as it is because thats how the two of you started out as,, just friends-

and then sooner or later since hes always around you you just become his girl ? ya know -

I'll start if u don't mind; I think she's actually an epic mom and ppl who hate her don't realize the writers cannot fucking write women at all in the slightest and actually she loves Lloyd and she's an epic mom !!!

i already KNOW this is going to get long so i’m throwing this under a cut lol

SO. i agree VERY MUCH WITH THIS STATEMENT. you can tell if you rewatch ninjago that they had no clue what they wanted misakos character to be. she definitely suffered the most from the “ninjago was originally 2 seasons” thing. by the time they figured out her character (which to me is s13) it was too late for her :(. also people who think she hates her son are so funny. so many ninjago fans cannot separate their own projections onto characters from canon so they just make up the most random bullshit about characters they don’t like. there’s more i’d say about this but i’d actually be kicking a hornets nest.

i’ve said this before but i REALLY think misakos character would’ve benefited so much from a sad backstory. i love the idea of her having a terrible mother and the whole breaking the cycle of abuse we could’ve had it all….. like the idea of misakos mom being what ppl think misako is would have been the best ever to me. her own mother not liking her and thinkjng she’s an inconvenience and getting in the way of her career is SOOOOO *kissy noise* the only thing i’d change would be her mother leaving her somewhere. personally i’d make it where misako ran away or got lost and her mom was like “aw :(. anyways!” and never bothered to look for her. think billy batson from shazam but less sympathetic for the mother character.

i actually wish they had made misako silly…. like another reason i feel like her character suffered is bc they were so insistent on making her a female wu that it feels like she isn’t even her own character sometimes. like the wise mentor trope is cool but im so over making every female character the hashtag epic girlboss. but if they were so insistent on making her a wise mentor why the FACK didn’t they ever use this or bring this up?????????

i’ve rewatched ninjago from beginning to end like 5 times and i swear they NEVER mention this once. like other than misako giving nya some advice here and there they never show misako actually. MENTORING nya. which makes no sense bc we the audience know that misako is capable of teaching fighting skills and wisdom. ninjago is very much a ‘tell don’t show’ type of show and misakos character suffers because of it so much :’(

i’ve said this once but misako and cecil SHOULDVE BEEN SIBLINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i know some ppl prefer the exs route or just them having always not liked each other which i can see but come onnnnnnn. cecil literally looks like if they had to make a guy misako. you know stitch and the pink thing that looks like stitch but a Girl. that’s misako and cecil but siblings bc yes i know that stitch and angel the pink one are dating.

do you see my vision. also i know this wouldn’t make sense also is kinda stupid but dr julien as the hidden third sibling. literally only so misako can be a middle child. imagine lloyd having to call this mf uncle cecil.

misako should’ve had more screentime with lloyd that’s a given but i think she should’ve had more screentime with the ninja in general. would’ve loved to see her chillax with them also the idea of her going in an adventure with them would be fun *stares at secrets of the forbidden spinjitzu fire chapter*

uhhhhhh what else what else…. OH yeah autistic misako is real af forever.

OH YEAH ok i just remembered what i was going to say i think ppl who think misako is like. really uptight and would yell at lloyd over little things over even at all are so baffling. girl how did you even come to that conclusion. she would be his number one supporter she literally owns a sweater/hoodie with his face on his. love that for her.

the ronin misako dareth friendship was interesting. it could’ve been cool but writers decided to immediately drop it. but also i think it was really weird?? the ronin misako part anyways because they put that in after shadow of ronin so that makes it so awkward to me lol. no clue how shadow of ronin did so maybe they just chose to ignore it but knowing what happened in that game makes it so funny in a really awkward way

season 9 was great that scene where misako tells lloyd to leave her behind…… ough. would’ve loved to see her interact with the other elemental masters a bit more but i’ll take what we got.

my pre-rewatch personal enjoyment episode ranking for s16 bc. lists. everything between 3-7 is muddy though i can be swayed to think otherwise.

1. shoots - probably the best pacing of the season, the only episode where i feel every character felt complete. good episode for both the characters’ pasts and where they stand now wrt to their families. dog frank. mac and charlie’s legacy :)

2. inflates - still had a fairly good pacing and good division of screen-time between characters. fun character dynamics especially between frank and all the others. charlie “won” at the end. there was only one bed.

3. celebrity booze - before you yell at me hear me out. this is where my ranking starts to get silly and more personal. i love breaking bad i was excited for this episode to come out before i even watched iasip. mac was serving. charlie threw up nickels over some guy. however frank dee and charlie were sidelined hard. this episode isnt that great im just heavily biased because of braaron. if it was any other celebrity this would rank in the bottom half for sure.

4. bowling - lost points because the men vs women stuff was handled poorly. dennis should not have won that strength competition against the waitress. i could go on about how this episode failed at the actual competition and ways they could have improved. i loved all the side characters though. i liked mac charlie and frank in this ep but they were kind of useless to the plot. also dennis’ misogynist rants were too on the nose. good sibling lore though.

5. dtamhd - some of you are going to kill me for ranking this lower than celebrity booze which is deserved just remember that im hugely biased because of braaron. also because this was the only episode i had any expectations for, which you should never do with this show. plotwise pretty solid though parts of it did get repetitive (we get it, its the systems not the people). i wont lie though ill never like "it was all a dream" endings. also in general i dont enjoy watching episodes where the majority of the gang dont feature in general (part of the reason why i found mfhp boring too). also the gore. i loved the gore. you did so good sweetie.

6. fvr - the hysteria surrounding that episode was so fun but honestly i think the actual frank versus russia part is soo underdeveloped that it throws the episode off balance. also i didnt love the character writing, especially for mac, he was a little too cartoonishly stupid for me here. oh and unfortunately i had expectations for this one too (mac having a bf) so while the catfishing stuff was CRAZY it didnt fulfill my need to see mac be gay onscreen. please let him be gay onscreen. to me the episode is full of pieces that didnt quite fit together. why did dee disappear for the last few minutes. why was uncle jack there he was so useless and unfunny. the sinned system reveal and the dating sequence was awesome though.

7. cursed - i really need to rewatch this episode. none of the plotlines feel fleshed out enough so it all kind of blurs together. why was cricket involved? why was uncle jack there again someone needs to kill him fr. i liked mac's chase utley lore but other than that i feel like nothing actually happened this episode lol?

8. risk-e-rat - i just. cannot get past how nearly every scene is some iteration of "wow i dont like X, that's not how it was when we came here!". the characters barely did anything they just kept saying shit. this season has episodes that are so goddamn repetitive and this by far is the worst. it was boring. they didnt even fuck the rat. not even their criminal activities can make up for that.

ANON YOU'RE PLAYING A VERY DANGEROUS GAME HERE I COULD LITERALLY WRITE A WHOLE DISSERTION ABOUT VICE VERSA YOU GOTTA GIVE ME SOME LIMITATION IF WE BOTH WANT TO GET OUT OF THIS WITH OUR SANITY INTACT. it's probably a good thing that it's been a constant 48 hours goat screaming up in my head since the show ended and that im still nowhere near coherent enough to articulate my thoughts properly........

talay's character journey is actually one of my favorite things about the show (and this says quite a lot, considering i adore pretty much everything about it) and i think it's also one of the best i've ever seen depicted in a BL. i do feel like im lacking the right english words to explain myself rn, but there's been something so.. charming and heartening about watching this boy who didn't believe in love, who has always prioritized his dream career to the point he never allowed himself to even consider a romantic relationship, slowly opening up to the possibility of it

the way they handled it was also incredibly refreshing to me, because talay’s choice of putting work before love is never shown in a negative light, it’s simply a part of his character that helps the viewers build a sense of who talay is: someone driven, meticulous, logical…. but talay is also warm and caring and kind. he doesn’t need to change or put his dream aside to love and be loved, he just needs to leave some space for it and let himself feel. if in the end puen is asked to choose between work and love (and in his case that choice feels like a blessing, because he never had an option before), talay’s journey is all about learning that he doesn’t necessarily have to pick one or the other, but that the two can coexist

another thing i really appreciated is that the writers never rushed talay into realizing and accepting his feelings for puen, but they made him experience all these new and different emotions (both good and bad) and then actually gave him have the time to figure out what they meant. it was a slow process, but it felt incredibly natural, and drawing a parallel with the color pink was such a clever way to show the progress in talay's feelings

puen’s character journey is probably less evident, compared to talay’s, but it’s honestly just as good. i feel like we focus a lot on how the alternate universe gave puen the chance to learn about all the different kinds of love and affection he never got to experience in his life (not only romance, but friendship and family too), however i think a big part of his journey is also rediscovering himself and letting himself be puen

it probably sounds a bit of a contradiction, since he spent most of the series going by ‘tun’, but i’ve rewatched some scenes from the first few episodes and it’s really startling how much more contrived puen feels compared to the second half of the show. this isn’t to say he was being fake or insincere, but you can see he used to hide a lot behind the cool actor persona he had to build for himself, and it made me realize that i didn’t fully understand just how true puen’s words are when he tells talay “not many people see this side of me. you’re one of them” and “i’m like this with you only. when i’m with you i don’t act.” being with talay and travelling to the alternate universe helped puen reconnect with who he is, and it’s beautiful to see his real self coming out more and more throughout the episodes and have him realize that maybe being puen is not that bad

i think im gonna stop here because this is already too long and if i start on all the reasons why puentalay is the best couple with the best development ever i will be on my deathbed and still not done with it, but i said it before and im gonna say it again: puen and talay's journey of going from strangers to friends to lovers felt believable and realistic in a way few others ever did, not only in BLs but in other shows too. it was about two very different people who didn't know what love was helping each other grow and choosing each other over and over again. they fell in love, and it felt real

Okay, I just finished rewatching the first season of Miraculous and I have some thoughts, but before that I need to complain

Why the fuck is the episode order Lika That? I initially set out to watch the episodes in production order rather than release order because I knew there was some funky stuff going on with the release order, only to find that the production order was also all fucked up ??? So I had to rely on someone on reddit who was kind enough to write down a chronological episode order for the first three seasons (and despite that, Origins ended up as the last two episodes of season 1 for some reason, although I am retroactively glad about that tbh, more on that later). Fortunately it looks like seasons 2 and 3 do just follow the production order so watching those will hopefully be easier

One of my main reasons I wanted to rewatch Miraculous and finish it is that I wanted to see if it was even a good kids show. Because while a lot of MLB fans and critics bring up good points about the missed potential of the show, it feels like a lot of them go about it from the perspective of adults or older teens who want to enjoy it as a piece of media that caters to them, rather than as the show for children it actually is (which isnt exclusive to this fandom, its just kinda a general tumblr thing but still). Its something that really bothers me about critiques of childrens media because yes, making something for a young audience isnt an excuse to make something bad, but you still need to apply different standards for kids media than you would for teen and adult media. What I mean by that is, just because a piece of media for children doesnt appeal to you, an adult, doesnt mean its bad, its just not for you.

So, Miraculous isnt well-written by the standards of media in general, but is it a good kids show? The first season, yes. Since Ive already watched seasons 2 and 3 and seen a lot of the spoilers for seasons 4 and 5, I know theres gonna be some problems and Im gonna run into some issues with my future critiques because it genuinely gets hard to tell what theyre even trying to do narratively and if theyre trying to appeal to the under 10 crowd like the first season or trying to become more mature and for tweens (10-12 year olds) as the series goes on, which are important things to consider when critiquing the show like this but Im gonna worry about that later

For now, yes, the first season is a good kids show.

The characters are pretty archetypical and Adrien is honestly pretty bland when hes not Cat Noir but theyre all ultimately pretty likable (or hatable in Chloe, Lila and to a lesser extend Kim's cases) and I like the diversity in Marinettes class, both in terms of ethnicity and in terms of bodytype. That being said, the designs of both the civilian characters and their akumatized versions are mediocre and personalityless at best and straightup awful at worst. For the akumatized villains I find it kinda weird that theres not really a consistent style to them. Some of them, like Stormy Weather, Lady Wi-Fi and Evillustrator, practically have the same color scheme, some of them, like Stormy Weather, Puppeteer and Reflecta, have the vibes of magical girl anime villains, some of them, like Timebreaker, Simon Says and Rogercop, seem like villains you'd find in a western comic book series etc. And it really doesnt feel like its because of the personality of the akumatized or because of their feelings when they got akumatized, it feels like its just kinda random every time and Im not a big fan of that. Marinettes Ladybug suit is really bland and I dont like how much emphasis it puts on her underage body especially since this a show claims to be empowering to young girls while Adriens Cat Noir suit looks fine i guess, just kinda generic for a black cat superhero. I dont think it'll ruin the experience for any kid watching the show but to me stuff like this is a pretty big display of carelessness, especially considering fashion is so important with Marinette wanting to be a designer and the main villain being a world renowed fashion designer.

The animation is pretty good for TV cgi though and I actually found the fight scenes very engaging and fun, I think kids who like action would really enjoy them

After watching seasons 2 and 3, I was honestly very surpised to see that Marinettes crush on Adrien and her awkwardsness around him was actually pretty cute and endearing initially. Like yeah, shes a bit of a weirdo about it but shes not like, a stalker and her awkwardness feel like an appropriate level of over the top-ness for an animated kids show and its definitely a far cry from the cringy, unecessarily slap-sticky shit I remembered, so that was nice. The writing in general was far less juvenile and trying-too-hard-to-be-funny, except for Hawk Moth. Now, theyre not trying too hard to make him funny, theyre actually trying to do the opposite, but hes just impossible to take seriously with his cringy lines every time he goes to akumatize someone. I think it would be better if the sequence of him sending the akuma out was silent, like we the potential victim get angry, cut to Hawk Moth smirking and doing his thing with the akuma in silence, then we see the victim get akumatized and talk to Hawk Moth except we dont hear him so its one-sided. But like with the character-design stuff, i dont think this will ruin the show for the kids but I do think making the main villain more mysterious and scary would be an improvement.

One of the big ways that the show fumbles imo are the lessons. Like, lets take Stormy Weather; the girl (I forgot her name sry) gets akumatized because she lost the vote to become weather girl and went on this huge rampage taking her anger out on everyone. From that description alone I would assume that the lesson of the episode would be about being a sore loser and how you cant always win in life so you shouldnt get so angry when you lose and that lesson would be taught by our Paragon of Goodness Ladybug, but its not. Ladybug doesnt talk to her about being a sore loser and has one of those 'say the moral outloud' kids media-moments, she just gets de-evilized and seems too exhausted to be angry anymore and thats how that ends. The actual lesson, the one that Marinette needs to learn, is how to say no to things and that its okay to accept help and not burden yourself with responsibility so much. And thats a good lesson but its so disconnected from the bulk of the episode in a way that it really shouldnt be

Im also suprised that a show with this premise doesnt have more conclusion-scenes where, after Ladybug saved the day, Marinette goes up to the akumatized person and tries to cheer them up. Like, a lot of the people who get akumatized are pretty much strangers to her so I get why she doesnt go up to those (although I still think she could spare some encouraging words for them in her Ladybug suit considering the experience they just went through), but a lot of them are her classmates and it would demonstrate why Marinette is a good Ladybug, whether shes transformed or not. As it stands, there are episodes where she is that Paragon Of Goodness that teaches other people lessons and episodes where shes just clumsy impulsive Marinette who needs to learn how to be more confident and responsible. That might be intentional, but because the villains and Marinette in civillian form are so disconnected, I dont think the dichotomy here works very well.

And the thing is, she actually does reach out the akuma victim as Marinette in Origins. Honestly, most of the issues I named arent present in Origins, with the exception of Hawk Moth being hard to take seriously; Adrien actually has an endearing personality when not Cat Noir and you understand why Marinette likes him so much, Marinette and her civillian persona feel less disconnected from the Ladybug stuff because she actually talks to Ivan and her learning to be more confident as a heroine helping her become more confident and assertive in her daily life is really good, even if the lessons of "talk honestly about your feelings" and "be more confident and have faith in yourself" arent directly connected either (although still arguably more than the two lessons in Stormy Weather)

Origins as a whole is a far better episode than any other season 1 episode and really feels likethe set-up for a far better and more interesting show. I really think the main thing holding this entire season back is the fact that its episodic and we didnt get to see Marinette and Adrien develop as heroes or anything else, we just kinda smashcut to their 'default' dynamics and while we can ultimately guess how those dynamics ended up developing from Origins onwards, we really shouldnt have to guess, we shouldve seen it because it wouldve been fun and interesting and the show would be much better.

Considering the fact that they jump straight into serialization with season 2 and european cartoons having continuity is pretty common, I have no idea why they would start out episodic like this when all it does is drag the series down. My best guess is that they were trying to imitate popular american cartoons at the time, which usually started with the first season being entirely episodic and then having a big season finale that changes the status quo in some major way before it continues in a more serialized format. But why they did it doesnt really matter, all that matters is that the show is worse for it, although definitely not bad or unsalvagable. This is a very solid start for what couldve been a great show, but just kinda ended up being pretty bad instead

Tsuzuru: I made a lot of changes to the script this time, but I decided I wanted to perform it as a story so I won’t forget what I actually felt as a writer now.

Tsuzuru: I know this is something really self indulgent… Especially when I’m the lead of this, so I’m sorry.

Tsuzuru: And for “Clockwork” and “RATF” and…

Itaru: And as I’ve said before, I think it’s an extra OP stat for a writer to be able to take what happens in their life and turn it into some kind of creative work.

Sakuya: Yeah, I love “RATF”!

Itaru: Yeah, I getcha. I really like the relationship between Kubota and Miyagi. (2)

Citron: And I love “The Luminous Circus”!

Itaru: I love “IMMORTAL CROW” too. Def got a fave from that one.

Chikage: “The Clockwork Heartbeat” is mine. It was the first Spring Troupe play I saw.

Chikage: Regardless of its orgin, it left a genuine impression on me. I’ve rewatched it on DVD since then.

Chikage: That’s a good thought. I do like how Winter Troupe is a little sad overall.

Sakuya: I always cry at that one. And I really sobbed over “Yin Yang Midnight”!

Itaru: Obviously. We’re all huge Mr. Tsuzuru Minagi geeks.

Tsuzuru: You’re embarrassing me, but thank you.

Chikage: That reminds me, your complexion isn’t deathly pale this time. You usually look like a zombie after you finish a script.

Tsuzuru: Actually, it’s an extension of writing the script for Otomiya-san. Masumi’s been the designated time keeper for the all-nighter ban…

Masumi: The Director told me to watch your health so you wouldn’t get sick.

Director: Sorry. It’s just, ever since RomiJuli started on a time crunch, it’s become your style to push yourself too hard, Tsuzuru-kun…

Tsuzuru: Well, I used to find it too hard to concentrate unless I was completely cornered with a fire under my ass.

Tsuzuru: But Otomiya-san told me that if I want to be a professional for a long time, I’d need to make some changes to that.

Tsuzuru: I’ll be getting older in the future too, after all!

Itaru: Tsuzuru’s becoming an adult…

Chikage: That’s the most growth I’ve seen from him in a while…

Citron: Growing up in the name of old age…

Tsuzuru: Don’t put it like that!

Tsuzuru: Anyway, I’m also being more conscious of my health in the future so I don’t have to worry everyone else about it.

Director: It sounds like you’re already ready to live as a professional writer.

Tsuzuru: Yeah.

Director: Well, alright then, since Tsuzuru-kun’s script is ready to go, we’ll start practicing hard tomorrow until the show!

Sakuya: Yeah!

Sakuya: I really like the glasses Yuki-kun and Azami-kun decided on.

Chikage: The overall atmosphere is much different this time around.

Sakuya: Everyone looks super cool!

Tsuzuru: …Hey, Sakuya.

Sakuya: What’s up?

Tsuzuru: During rehearsal this time, and even before then… From the very beginning actually now that I think about it, thank you for always being the first to praise my scripts.

Sakuya: You don’t have to thank me! I just really love your stories, so I’m always impressed with your scripts…!

Tsuzuru: Still, writers are always anxious. I feel so relieved when I hear honest affirmations about my work coming from someone like you, Sakuya.

Tsuzuru: Besides, you’ve always been giving me hints since RomiJuli. Same goes for CROW, and this time with Tooru.

Tsuzuru: And above all that, it’s just plain fun to write with you in mind. This time, Tomohisa was just as fun to write for because his lines came out so naturally.

Tsuzuru: It’s a role that’s unlike anything you’ve had before, but that’s why I think you’ll rise to the challenge and give it your all.

Sakuya: Yeah. I really felt your trust in me and I’m really happy as an actor that you wrote Tomohisa as my role.

Tsuzuru: Of course I trust you. I want you to support me as co-lead. As long as you’re with me, I’ll probably be fine.

Sakuya: …Yeah!

Masumi: It’s almost showtime.

Citron: Even now Masumi is being a gatekeeper!

Tsuzuru: I’m glad. But it’s “timekeeper.”

Itaru: How about a few words from our lead.

Tsuzuru: Umm, I almost ruined myself as a writer during the slump that led me to this play, but…

Tsuzuru: The other day, when everyone was complimenting me on all my works--.

Tsuzuru: I was once again proud of the works I’ve written and the characters I’ve created, and I don’t want to ever forget that.

Tsuzuru: I know this might sound like self-flattery, or like I’m a doting parent, but I really love each and every one of the characters and stories I’ve created.

Tsuzuru: It’s not just because I wrote them, but also because everyone played their roles and breathed life into them.

Tsuzuru: I really like each of the characters in this show this time.

Tsuzuru: I think everyone standing right here in front of me in their costumes is so amazing…

Tsuzuru: I’m so happy to have all the actors I admire playing these roles. Once again, thank you, guys.

turning 21

I decided to reread the one I did when I turned 20 and apparently I also wrote it on the 31... I guess that some things just don't change? I had an exam on the 22 (which I passed! yey!) and then my brother arrived the next day and then christmas and... life. so. that's why im writing this 16 days later.

for my birthday I went to an Italian restaurant with my friends and I had a great time. they all wrote me letters which I read today (yeah, very late, I know.) and then I passed my final exam which was a very important milestone for me. but now, today, New Years, my father is in the hospital.

This year has been so hard. I guess that i finally digested the conclusion that its either a father with cancer or no father. it was so hard. I really spiraled when I finally realized that. I always thought about cancer as a thing of “right now” that we just have to deal with and then it will be over. but it won't. or it won't until my dad's death. Its been so hard feeling like you have to be strong for your family but wanting to cry all day.

I made a lot of friends at uni! finally! I went to classes, like, to the university, and it was great. at the begging I was very nervous but then I got more and more comfortable. I now have a group of four including me and friends from other grades as well. its ben nice. I like uni. I also made friends at my French classes. I've met people from other countries in my French classes and I loved that. I also started taking Croatian classes with my mom this year and that's been great. I think I would like to visit Croatia to study the language.

this year I started watching the owl house which became one of my favorite shows and I rewatched avatar the last Airbender (im still on season three though!). I watched many movies this year. more than ever I think. I love movies. I think I would like to make one. apparently I've watched 138 movies this year... wow. My favorite movie is still Before Sunrise. it also HAD to be the last one I watched this year. I love it. so. much. it was the movie that really got me into movies.

im still doing therapy and my therapist suggested medication for depression. I didn't take it. mainly because I don't want my mom to know that im not doing as well. she has to go through so much, and I think I can still manage. if things don't get better I might take the offer next year I think, but for now im doing what I can.

I've been recording my year, though not as much as I recorded when I was at school. when my dad got sick I stopped recording a lot (and I also started spending less time with my friends as well). i think I would like to edit my videos. I think I would like a videocamera, but they are so expensive.

my phrase this whole year was “im tired” and I hope that that changes next year, especially taking into account that I will be taking more classes and such. I also hope my father's illness will go into recession. I hope he doesn't have to be hospitalized more times and I want him to be happy. today I visited him in the hospital (because they won't let you have more than one visitor at a time) and he looked so... weak. I wish I could share with him my strength, make him feel better. but I can't. his birthday is in a few days but I don't know if he will be out by then. My parents said we could celebrate New Years after he gets discharged, since every day in 2023 will still be 2023 and we are the ones who decide when and how we celebrate. today im celebrating with my brother and my godmother (bless her.)

I knew my father had to get the nasogastric tube, but for some reason I didn't imagine that I was going to spend New Years without him. I don't know how many I've got left, and I really wanted this one. but I couldn't say that, so I said it was okay for us to celebrate on another day. He has to remain in the hospital to make sure he's fine, and apparently his chemo isn't working so he has to try another scheme, with another drug that might make him lose his hair. and im not worried about the hair, but about how he sees himself. it makes him so sad when people dont recognize him.

even with all this depression I would in a heartbeat volunteer to absorb his sadness if I could.

I have realized that when people my age say “I don't understand your situation...” instead of making me jealous or angry, it now only makes me happy. Like, im so happy you don't know what its like to have a parent with cancer. im so happy you don't have to go through everything that comes with this illness. I guess, as time goes by, I get more and more used to this illness and its impact. I don't know that ill ever be okay with it, but. I want inner peace.

I really do.

20 year old me, you had a tough year and you did what you could. and im so fucking proud of you.

Ah not really. Whatever time i have when im not working, id rather spend drawing either for fun or my commissions. Although i do love creepy and macabre stuff, im not a big fan of horror movies. A lot of them are more about either shocking viewers and being as gorey and torture porn-y as possible, which isn't really my thing. Tho there are some horror movies out there i quite liked, I prefer to watch compilation videos of ghosts caught on camera and stuff if im in the mood for something spooky.

The SGE movie's pretty good for someone like me who hasn't read the books. My brother and I actually had tons of fun until all the confusing qb(and the whole thing with Rafal and Sophie. Barf). Like, if the filmmakers knew Agatha and Sophie were sisters then why have them kiss on the lips?? Unless they plan on retconning that since i hear that was only revealed at a later book...

Omg thank you! Ive mentioned it before but I'm not as confident with my writing as i am with my art, so compliments regarding my fics are always super appreciated. I'll consider continuing to write it, if there's still more i can squeeze out of me.

im so jaded about media now, like the magnus archives has ruined me in that ive tasted what it feels like to be treated as a normal human being and not a prop for woke points or someone’s heavy handed bid for acceptance like we need to parade our similarities or differences around to be seen, and i just cant go back

why would i want rewatch good omens when they did everything BUT the one piece of rep that everyone was asking for and was dangled in front of them?

why would i rewatch supernatural knowing dean and castiel are obviously in love and it will just get smacked down in some of the most hilariously aggressive homophobia ever put to screen?

why should i watch merlin for the first time knowing it will just be queerbaiting me like sherlock and teen wolf did before?

why should i finish hannibal when the creator was too chickenshit to just say he was writing a gay romance and i know it will never be finished?

why should i start watching mcu movies again when time after time they have done nothing but mock me and give false promises only rip the rug out and straight up mutilate character development for the sake of not being any kind of queer?

even in explicitly queer media written by queer people over half the time it feels like some huge performance waving a giant flag that says “we’re here!” instead of geniune representation of our community

like, i take solace in old books when it was illegal to print queer rep because at least then i know they were trying so hard for it to be as obvious as possible without crossing a line for a REASON

i keep seeing all these new shows that seem so good but then people will talk about how the main couple is super forced and you can tell it’s because they dont want to acknowledge the chemistry of the main character with another of the same gender, and dont even think of the token trans person getting anything good for them because it’s not happening

and yes i KNOW there’s good stuff out there, like ive heard about how amazing heartstopper is, but honestly i cant take another coming out story, like yeah im glad it’s there for the people who need it, but what about the people like me who dont HAVE a traditional “coming out” story? once i figured it out i knew who i was and i wasn’t afraid of it and i wasnt scared of telling people but i wasn’t just coming out, it’s just always came up naturally and ive never shied away from it,, and i KNOW that’s weird and i know people get pissed when you dont have coming out trauma but why does every coming of age queer story always gotta be a coming out story? like yeah we need more of those but we should also have the other too

anyway, tldr is that im a very tired queer and half the reason i dont consume much new media or even stick with old media is 100% bc no one writes queer people as people

also listen to the magnus archives and be prepared to find queer people being queer without it feeling like an oscar bait disability movie like love simon or overtly homophobic like supernatural
