Jeremy is always trying to stifle the black Irish humor which I inherited from my father and his mother, which he thinks is bad for the kids to hear (whereas in my opinion, hearing that kind of talk was thrilling and amusing when I was a kid, and is part of why I’m so funny now!)

Example from just now - we got some mailing to notify us of a meeting to discuss a construction project in the neighborhood. Jeremy says, “we don’t care about this road construction, right? I can throw this notice away?”

And I said “they could send a mailer saying they’re going to poison our drinking water and I still probably wouldn’t make it to a meeting to discuss it.”

Which he I guess thought was inappropriate to say in front of kids!
