The 2023 grid, if the budget cap meant that each team could only afford a single hotel room with one bed for their drivers:

Red Bull: So No Homo that they won’t even sleep in the same bed. They argue over who gets the bed and who has to sleep in the armchair. Christian politely asks Max if he could give Sergio the bed because Sergio is older and needs to avoid screwing up his back, and Max says, “I told you already—”

Mercedes: Lewis is the big spoon, and George is the little spoon; they are perfectly comfortable and get a great night’s sleep, except for when Roscoe wakes George up at 5am. George somewhat hogged the blankets, though, so Lewis considers this appropriate vengeance.

Alfa Romeo: Valtteri flops onto the bed wearing nothing but his boxers and falls instantly asleep. Guanyu changes into expensive silk pajamas and lays his head on Valtteri’s chest to doze off. He wakes up in the morning gently pillowed in Valtteri’s arms. Later, Valtteri makes them the best coffee Guanyu has ever tasted.

Alpha Tauri: Yuki and Nyck make the comfiest pillow-and-blanket-nest known to humankind and simply cuddle in it with snacks and hot chocolate, looking at things on their phones and giggling. Eventually Yuki falls asleep snuggled up next to Nyck, and Nyck falls asleep while trying not to move and wake him up.

Alpine: Pierre and Esteban play it cool and joke and laugh about the situation until they’re alone together in the room, at which point the power plays begin. Each one tries to take greater control of the situation—declaring I want this side, I want that pillow, I’m setting the alarm for X o’clock, and so on. Five seconds after they actually get into bed, however, they begin pathetically making out and go on to have sex that leaves them both confused and emotionally devastated. This repeats every single race weekend.

McLaren: Lando and Oscar are uncomfortable with each other and have no idea what they’re doing, but they are also desperately lonely and horny, and they give each other messy handjobs before having quiet crises about their sexuality and independently deciding never to acknowledge it again. This also repeats every single race weekend.

Aston Martin: Fernando, who has been pretending to ignore Lance’s hopeless doe eyes since mid-2022, allows one mere second of smoldering eye contact when he is shirtless in bed with the sheets only pulled up to his hips, and that is all it takes for Lance to literally beg Fernando to fuck him. Lance actually passes out afterwards. Fernando smokes a cigarette.

Williams: Alex does everything possible to be a polite bedmate, he even showers and puts on deodorant before going to sleep. Logan steals the blankets, stays up playing with his phone, and pretends to proposition Alex in a blatantly homophobic way, at which point Alex rolls his eyes and starts making a makeshift bed on the floor out of pillows and chair cushions.

Ferrari: There is a very half-hearted No Homo attempt that lasts all of three minutes because they cannot stop gazing at each other, then making excuses to touch each other, then snuggling up together in bed. They proceed to have big-budget porn caliber sex for the. Entire. Night. And every adjacent room knows it.

Haas: Kevin and Nico low-key can’t stand each other, but they are grinning and bearing it. They sleep back-to-back, tugging the blankets back and forth periodically through the night. Nico wants a light on. Kevin wants complete darkness. Kevin wants it colder. Nico wants it warmer. They are so grumpy the next day that Guenther swaps with Nico; this results in his simply clinging to Kevin in his sleep all night. Kevin strongly considers re-retiring.

I am being so so so normal about them. I am not in aabria iyengar's walls about these characters. I am not chewing through plaster thinking about how rajan isn't looking at elsie when she chances a glance back at him through the corner of her eye barely even moving her head but as soon as he notices her head so much as tilt his gaze moves to her and stays focused there. I am not being consumed by the way rajan is standing half behind and half beside elsie or by the fact that their stances are inherently protective of each other. In a world where Marco didn't die yet still everyone but Annie joined the Survey Corps, Jean wouldn't notice when his feelings for Mikasa has faded and the ones for Marco began to bloom.

Not until they see the ocean for the first time. When Marco comes to him all excited, yelling 'Jean! Jean, look what I found!' before showing him a shell. But Jean's not paying attention to it, but to the way Marco's eyes were shining with excitement and happiness. Of how happy his best friend was, for the first time since a very long time. And Jean would think 'I wish he would smile more. It looks good on him'. Then he would think 'I wish I was the reason why he was smiling'.

Then Marco would take hold of his hand and put the shell in it before saying 'You should have it. The color brings out your eyes!' and that, that exact moment, would be the moment when Jean realizes that he has long stopped having romantic feelings for Mikasa. That all he wants is to be by Marco's side, only the two of them.
