What if Mika's plans for after graduation are to leave Valkyrie to develop his own art without relying on Shu

sweatdrops. ough. i've a feeling it's probably in some way gonna make shu feel like he's being abandoned because idk if i were to write some conflict that involves shu's grandfather dying. might as well make him feel like when it rains it pours, right? i think it'd be interesting, although we have to keep in mind that shu wants mika to be more independent.... though of course grief can cause regression very easily.

Y'know, if you told my 12yo self that there would be an accurate Percy Jackson show (or movie) coming out, she would have been ecstatic. But I'm just... not. It's hard to understand why. I still love the books - at least the first series, nothing in Riordan's work really interested me after the first one with the exception of maybe the end scene of Mark of Athena, which is really well written - and I still re-read them annually. The casting seems to be on point. The lore seems to be respected So... why is it that I don't care?

Maybe it's got something to do with preferring my own imagination and interpretation of these characters, idk. Maybe it's in the beauty of reading a book and imagining the world and characters myself instead of accepting whatever visuals the series chooses to give me. Dunno.

Some kind anon on /40kg/ is detailing some stuff from his early copy of Arks of Omen Abaddon.

The Arks of Omen can apparently function as “Mini Astronomicons”, warp beacons, that allow them to guide larger fleets. (useful)

Also they have these Demon Engine Cores that enable a lot of their function.

....

Vashtorr specifically needs Abaddon to do the heavy lifting for the Arks of Omen stuff, gathering artifacts across the Galaxy to build a Super-Weapon.

Did Dawn say why Giratina 'suited' you? And why did that make you completely convinced she's Akari?

She didn't say why. Only that it suited me. I'm assuming it's something she knows about deep down, but doesn't realize it.

As for why it made me certain, it's like I said. Giratina absolutely adores that photo of Akari and Volo. So it most certainly knows one or both of them. I bear a striking resemblance to Volo. So if Giratina "suits" me, and Giratina adores this Volo person, then it stands to reason that Dawn knew Volo...because she is Akari.

And let's face it: the stories and her and Akari's disappearance/appearance match up all too conveniently. Convenience like that is too much.

i do unironically think the best artists of our generation are posting to get 20 notes and 3 reblogs btw. that fanfic with like 45 kudos is some of the best stuff ever written. those OCs you carry around have some of the richest backstories and worldbuilding someone has ever seen. please do not think that reaching only a few people when you post means your art isn't worth celebrating.

#i often wonder about how many things would be considered classic or high art had they only received the marketing #how many short films that were made for class could have been the most powerful thing you'd ever seen? if you'd seen them?#“you know the greatest films of all time were never made” etc etc #but like. these works of art ARE being made. it's just enjoyed by a smaller audience with equal impact though #i think about this one furry i used to follow on insta who had the coolest worldbuilding ever. it's been years.#thought prompted by that sketch of nimona from ten years ago that was just for a character design #posted to the creator's tumblr and now it's nominated for best animated feature film at the oscars #and by the genuine emotional reaction a fan comic made me feel. how much work had gone into it. how beautiful it was to me.#idk what to tag this but i hope whoever needs to hear it does #writing #writer #fandom #fandom culture #artist
