COD + Tropes
which trope do they fall into when it comes to you.
SIMON GHOST RILEY + FWB TO LOVERS
i have said it before but simon really struggles when it comes to relationships.
he insisted that this was a casual thing but soon realized that's not true. from the way his heart beats faster when you rarely cuddle, to his trouble sleeping wondering if maybe you were with some other bloke. his insecurities got the best of him and he would end up saying something mean out of jealousy. when he saw you took offense to it he decided in four seconds that he was not gonna lose you. he confessed his feelings (in a sentence or two) and since then he has no problem with everyone knowing you are his.
KYLE GAZ GARRICK + THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY
kyle was always a romantic. outspoken, proud romantic. you guys probably met in high school and just fell in love. you both knew you were it for each other but everyone kept insisting it was just a first love kind of thing. it was not.
circumstances brought kyle into the army and leaving you was the hardest of it all. you both also decided staying together was just gonna be painful so you broke up.
a couple years later kyle came home and got his life together as an adult. after seeing the reality of bills, rent, taxes and just life, he realized maybe he doesn't wanna do it at all without you. a call and a few tears is all it took for admitting you are still each others soulmates.
JOHN SOAP MACTAVISH + FAKE DATING
look at me in the eyes and tell me this is not HIS trope. it was simply meant to be. maybe he saw you in a bar and some guy was being too insisting for his liking, maybe johnny got sick of his family asking about a future wedding or maybe gaz told you guys you couldn't pull it off and you took the bet. doesn't matter, but it happened.
after months of intense eye contact across the room, flushed faces when realizing you were holding hands but there was no one around and holding you by your hips for group pictures, johnny felt his stomach turn when you mentioned something about going on a date with some other soldier for real.
next thing you knew he was kissing you against a bathroom door. really kissing you, not like those pecks for the public that always left you wanting more. in breathless sentences you both decided to be together like you always wanted (probably in a quick to be continued kinda way so you could keep kissing)
KÖNIG + SLOW BURN
it took him years. years.
from the moment he saw you in base he was thankful his hood could hide his red face when he developed a crush in about 15 seconds. he was also very surprised when you just talked to him.
könig kept you as a friend for years and himself busy with missions, it wasn't until you were thinking about transferring when he decided you wouldn't do it. you can't just go, right?
the only condition to staying was a very long conversation with him, where you admitted being in love with him for the longest time, and thinking maybe he felt the same way. but after that many years you needed to have him now, or just try to move on.
i don't think könig ever felt that relived. he mumbled something in german, suddenly ripping his hood off and kinda tackled you to the bed in a hug. you laughed and decided yeah, this is gonna work.
JOHN PRICE + FORCED PROXIMITY/ SECRET RELATIONSHIP
having a new secretary in his office was the last thing john needed.
he was sure it was about the fact that it was someone new in his personal space, someone who knew nothing about his routine.
it obviously had nothing to do with the fact that he looked at you longer than he looked at papers. or about your accent being so distracting to him that you had to say most things twice.
being trapped in an elevator with him was the last thing you needed.
again, its about the fact that you have so many things to do for your impatient boss (not about his cologne being intoxicating and his shoulders looking a little too big right now)
neither of you knew how it happened, but it did. and you were sure he pressed you against every inch of the elevators walls while kissing you like a mad man.
the truth is everyone else on the team knew the reason why you drove each other crazy, and john was more than grateful when the person who opened the elevator doors and saw the state of you was simon.
after fixing your clothes and an awkward apologize to simon, you talked about it.
having a secret relationship with him didn't last long, this man likes to move fast. but after the elevator incident, you were more than okay with that.

never wanted anything from you (except everything you had)
{ One-Shot AU for head, heart, hand. }
@saintbeau asked: I know you said in the Canon ending, up until a certain point, Oliver was planning to let the reader live. If he'd never decided to kill them, do you think they'd suffer a similar fate as Farleigh and be forced out? Or do you think there's ever a possibility of 'the pet coming with the house' so to speak? I think to a degree Oliver's yearning to take Felix's place could lead him to essentially slotting himself alongside the reader if they'd allow it.
Summary: After the death of your best friend and his sister, you can't bring yourself to stay at Saltburn, even when their grieving mother wishes you would. However, after several years away to process and grow, you find yourself back in touch with Oliver Quick, who's changed so much in the time you've spent apart. Fate certainly has a funny was of working out, so you're not entirely surprised to end up back at the place you'd once called home.
Need to Know: They/Them. Explicitly NB Reader. Reader is from a well off family but has pretty much been adopted by the Cattons. Oliver/Reader are endgame here.
Warnings: Very poor relationship with reader's parents. SALTBURN-CANON ENDING; Felix & Venetia are still dead, but we get a happy ending this time. Also not sure if it needs a warning but Oliver does admit to killing Felix.
A/N: 4162 words. This got away from me. this ends up being so painfully fluffy. it's VERY Oliver/Reader, Oliver's less of a bastardman and he doesn't kill Elspeth but her health is failing significantly like it does in the movie. i think i might have made him a better person as compared to the film, but it's still canon compliant mostly. it ends so fluffy and happy tho, i love it omg. AGAIN THIS IS NOT CANON TO head, heart, hand.

----
There is no world where you stay where Oliver wins.
But there's a world where you leave, heart too heavy with grief, where you transfer from Oxford and spend time as an adult reconnecting with your own family, where he finds you again. Your parents don't respect you as family, but you're granted access to their lives, to be in their line of sight; you become almost like a live-in assistant who takes meals with them but for whom they show no outward affection.
It's all you have left.
You tell yourself it's enough.
"That Catton fellow offed himself," your father says it with such idleness, as if reporting the weather.
"Sir James?" You almost choke on your breakfast, and father peers down his nose at you over his morning paper, giving you a smile that doesn't quite reach his eyes.
"Yes, sorry, I forgot you knew him -"
"Surely it doesn't say that he offed himself," your mother frowned, tugging at the corner of the paper to try and get a look at the article. They bicker lightly, charmingly, in the middle of this cafe about the death of your best friend's father, and what the article is saying or implying, but you just wonder about Elspeth.
Later, when you search through old papers and memories and notebooks, you find the number for Saltburn and call. Duncan's voice is familiar, as is yours to him.
"Captain," the old nickname is so gentle on his tongue, the most gentle you'd ever heard him be about anything. Then, as quickly as you'd heard it, the gentleness is replaced with apology, letting you know that Elspeth is unavailable, but that you'd be welcome to attend Sir James' funeral. You know you'd never be able to bring yourself to attend.
It's Oliver who reaches out, deliberate, in the months that follow. It's slow going, too formal for how intimately, how messily you knew each other for those few months in the Spring and Summer. He apologises, says he saw you on the cover of a tabloid trailing a pair of aging socialites and looked further into it.
"You looked -" he tells you over dinner in the city, beautiful, settled, no more of his youthful awkwardness; it had only been a few years, but how glad you were to see him, "fucking miserable," he says so gently, taking your face in his hands. Oh fuck, you'd missed him, missed his touch, missed how clearly he could see you - you burst into tears in the restaurant.
Dating Oliver makes you feel like a whole new person, raw, relearning yourself, realising you'd been living like a ghost since you'd left Saltburn. Your hyper competency had needed an outlet and your parents had provided that, but you were barely a person, to them or to yourself. Now you were learning who you were, alone.
Quieter. More focused and driven in your professional endeavours. As dangerously charming as Farleigh ever was. The memory of Venetia peeking through in your wickedly sharp wit. An echo of Felix in the affection you carried with you, in your smile, in your laugh. A living ghost, learning to love and embrace the ways in which you were haunted, rather than grieving for them.
You spend nights in his little flat, take refuge from your own life in his, and Oliver's the one who informs you that Elspeth has moved into town, leaving Saltburn echoing and empty, if not for the skeleton crew that maintains it.
"She wants to see you," there's a strange look in his eyes when he says it, something conflicted, almost dark, but when you smile, he too lights up.
Elspeth holds you for a very long time. In the middle of a cafe in walking distance for your both it turns out, there's tears in her eyes, and a joyful smile, and she doesn't let you go even as Oliver goes and order you all drinks.
"So beautiful, you've always been so beautiful," she murmurs, long, elegant fingers feather light against your features, no care for propriety here, "you're so grown up." It's like she's trying to connect the person you are now with the memory she has of you. Tears are welling in your own eyes.
"I'm sorry I left, mum." There's a lump in your throat and her tears start to fall as she takes your face gently, cradling you against her, laughing through her bittersweet memories.
"I never blamed you, pet, never," she assures, voice wet with tears but reassuring nonetheless. Oliver sits down on your other side, wordlessly leaning into you both, resting his head on your shoulder. The three of you stay like that for a long moment. You can hear Elspeth sniffling quietly.
The moment breaks, she lets you go, and when you sit back up, Oliver takes your hand, lacing his fingers with yours and resting your joined hands on the table. Immediately Elspeth's eyes focus upon them, and she gives a warm smile to your both.
"I cannot believe you've found each other again," and she sounds so genuinely joyful, "it's funny how the universe works out." Oliver gives a faint, bashful smile, leaning into you, bumping your shoulder for a bit.
"I'm a lucky man," there's something wonderfully, desperately loving in his eyes when he looks at you in this moment. It is, to him, the total and complete truth. Before you're overwhelmed by your urge to kiss him, however, Elspeth continues.
"After all that's happened, I am glad luck, and life, have brought you both back to me; I was just saying to dear Ollie the other day," Elspeth rests her cool, well manicured hand on your free hand, sitting on the table, "the two of you should come stay at Saltburn again."
Something constricts in your throat, grip on Oliver's hand tightening momentarily.
"I know," Elspeth is quick to move her hand to your shoulder, seeing the way your expression changes, drops, "but that house still holds so much love for you, my dear pet," and she takes a deep, shaky breath, finally admitting, "and I can't bring myself to be there alone."
Looking to Oliver, he gives you a gentle smile, nothing but sweet warmth and reassurance; he's changed so much since Saltburn, so sweet, so sublime. That version of Oliver didn't know how to love you or Felix in a way that was good for any of you, you came to realise, but this Oliver, oh this Oliver had crafted himself a home in your heart with love you didn't think anyone other than Felix had been capable of.
"It can be our home again," he murmurs, a sentiment Elspeth echoes like she hadn't even realised that was what she had wanted from you both;
"It can be your home again."
The drive to Saltburn feels like a memory, of young laughter and loud music and Summer sweat whipped away by the wind in Felix's convertible. The car you'd chosen to take with you is far more sensible, but still relatively ostentatious, and when you ask Oliver to drive, he of course obliges you. Still, the music is loud, and the day is warm, and even if the two of you are quiet, there's still a warm hand on your knee.
And you still feel loved.
Saltburn creaks and echoes with familiarity.
The doors open, and though you don't recognise the footmen either side of the entrance, you certainly recognise Duncan. He's older, of course, as are you. There's a touch of grey by his temples, and he's paler than you remember, but still prim, still gaunt and haunting -
"Mister Quick," until his eyes fall on you, and he softens almost imperceptibly, but you see it, you hear it in his voice, "and Captain Y/N," almost like it's an in-joke between you both by now.
"It's good to see you, Duncan," you tell him sincerely, and for the briefest moment he actually smiles.
"And you as well."
Everything's the same, just as Elspeth had assured you both. Everything's the same, just as when you'd left. Fled. Alone all those years ago.
Coming back, hand in hand with Oliver, it feels surreal.
Grand foyer, red staircase, secluded alcove that you and Venetia used to tease Felix about regarding his 'accidental' bout of cousin fingering, Henry Seventh's cabinet, the arch Felix claimed his grandmother haunted, the Green Room, gardens through the windows, Rubens that Felix never cared for but you had always appreciated. Still broken piano. Blue Room; still blue. The King's bedroom, not that you cared for Henry the Eighth, but Felix always liked to bring it up. The long gallery. Portraits of Cattons you had never cared for. Shakespeare's folios that you and Felix had spent a Winter going through, just to brag that you had, without realising how few people would care.
Sir James' teddy was absent from it's usual chair. Something about that makes something ache in your chest, just a little. So you look away, to the maze beyond the windows that you never want to go in again.
You know this house, this route, like the back of your hand even now. Oliver holds your hand tightly as you rest your hand on the intricate doorknob of the midnight blue door that you both remember so well.
"Are you okay?" Oliver's voice is quiet, is reverential, as you hesitate. Nodding once, you push open the door.
It still smells like Felix. His things are still here, still a bit of a mess. Books and knickknacks and photos. His wardrobe door is still ajar, the way you know you left it when you'd been scrambling to pack your own garments when you'd last been here, and his clothes still hang there, frozen, a moment in time.
It aches, but it doesn't... hurt. Not like you thought it would. It almost seems silly, to have this preserved for so long.
"Can we stay in here, Duncan?" You call out, knowing he must be around somewhere, he always was.
"I thought you might," Elspeth's gentle voice from the doorway makes you and Oliver both jump. But she's smiling at you both, and once the shock has worn off, you can't help but laugh. It sets you all off, laughing warmly, fondly, all three in Felix's perfectly untouched room.
Elspeth does, however, let you know that they've had the bathroom redone. She doesn't say it's because of Venetia, but you're quietly grateful nonetheless. You don't know if you could bring yourself to bath in there if all you could think about was Venetia's blood across the bathroom floor. It's different now.
When you try out the new tub, still claw-footed, still deep and soothing, there comes a knock at the door you'd left ajar out of habit.
"Mind if I join you?" It's Oliver, with a teasing little smile and hope in his eyes. He does not wait at the door like you know he once had, he is bold, he is unapologetic, he is confident in his love. Enthusiastically you wave him over, delighted to create new, better memories in this bathroom that no longer resembles the one you know.
There's still this strange kind of divide; Oliver, at times, still acts like a guest. Saltburn's been your home for too long for you to feel uncomfortable within it's walls, but Oliver's still always asking permission. For everything. He asks if he can borrow some of Felix's old clothes and looks relieved when you look at him like it's an absurd request.
"He's not going to be wearing them."
Elspeth gets this look in her eyes whenever she recognises any of Felix's clothes on Oliver, fond and nostalgic as she tells him she's glad they're no longer gathering dust.
"Beautiful clothes for a beautiful boy," she liked to say.
It takes you a few weeks to realise Elspeth's ulterior motives. Her health is failing. She has no family left. She needs people. As Oliver had pointed out so long ago, you were both desperate to be needed. Much like when you were younger, your own parents had no qualms about you living your life at Saltburn without them; they'd hire another assistant. The email they'd sent back to you did however note that you had been the best assistant either of them had ever had. It's the nicest thing they'd ever said to you.
Elspeth speaks to you alone one morning during the fall, the grounds turning all shades of golds and oranges.
"I..." your thoughts are moving too fast, her offer was so simple yet so overwhelming, "can't take Saltburn." A deep sigh escapes her, and she looks out over the grounds, but pets your knee, "I won't leave," you try to placate her, "you, or Saltburn, if you'd like me to stay; I'll be like Duncan -" this gets her to laugh, fond and bright, "but I think it will complicate things with my own family."
She tells you she understands. Her voice is getting weaker by the day. Then, after another long moment of gentle silence and contemplation, she speaks carefully.
"And Oliver?"
Part of you kind of knew this was coming.
"He might love Saltburn more than me," you admitted with a chuckle, "and he loves you dearly, you know that right?"
"He's such a strange, beautiful creature," Elspeth muses fondly, "I don't know if James even looked at me the way he looks at you," she smiles at you, expression turning soft and nostalgic for just a moment, "Felix used to look at you like that, didn't he?"
"In his own way," you agreed, unable to look her in the eyes while knowing exactly what she meant, exactly what she could see in this moment.
"They say we have more than one soulmate in our lives, pet," she says softly, reassuringly, and you look up once more. There's gentle hope and fragments of old grief that wrap around your heart as she continues, giving your knee a faint squeeze, "I think you're one of the lucky ones."
And your mind settles back on Oliver, how good, how kind, how loving he's been in the year since you'd reconnected. Finally, you're able to smile.
"I think so too."
Oliver seems genuinely surprised when you and Elspeth approach him with the offer. He keeps looking at you, confused. All you can do is smile, assure him that you want Saltburn to be in his name.
"I'm not abandoning you," you laugh, "I'll be here as long as you'll have me, help take care of any paperwork or maintenance or, well, calling people to take care of those things."
"They're a good house pet," Elspeth actually teases, while Oliver is still silent, looking at you in awe. He stutters through a verbal agreement, and Elspeth delightedly says she'll get the contract drawn up in the next few days.
"Why me?" Oliver finally asks, and Elspeth stands, wrapping her arms around him in a hug.
"You've worked hard all your life, Ollie, I can see that in you," she murmurs, "and you loved the ones so dear to me. I know you will love this home, and my darling Y/N, and one day I know it will be a family home again."
Oliver is quiet during supper, he keeps looking at you with this unreadable expression, almost grateful, but somehow intrigued. There's something lighter about him now, less tension carried in his shoulders, a small smile he can't quite get rid of. After you all eat, he offers you his arm and asks you to stroll the grounds in the moonlight.
"I thought it'd be you," his voice is so soft. The moon makes him glow. He's wearing the pale, linen shirt of Felix's that catches the light so beautifully.
"I could tell," you can't help but smirk, gently ribbing him. When he laughs, it almost sounds disbelieving.
"Saltburn was your home first."
"Saltburn is a place," you tell him, "my home was always the people in it."
"Felix was your home," he remembers when you'd told him that, how wide Felix had smiled when he'd heard it.
"And now," you're surprised by how your voice catches as you realise what you're about to say, "it's you."
"You love me," Oliver turns with wide, adoring eyes, while you can't help your shy smile.
"Of course I love you, you know I love you -"
"You love me-love me," he sounds like he's discovered the meaning of life, like he can see it in your eyes. Then, very suddenly, a whole new realisation seemed to wash over him, "I think I actually want to spend the rest of my life with you."
Oh! Is this -?
"I don't have a ring, fuck-!" Before he can get any further, you're kissing him, wrapping your arms around him, desperate to make him taste how much you fucking love him. Giddy and burning with desire, you feel like a teenager again, overwhelmed with delight and affection in this old house you call a home.
When you suggest that you meet his parents, properly this time, Oliver makes a face like he's bitten a lemon. It's a beautiful, cool mid-morning at the beginning of Winter, grey light reaching through the curtains to caress you and your fiancé, wrapped up in Egyptian cotton sheets.
"I've met them before," you remind him gently, hand splayed out across his chest as he looks at the ceiling, "I don't hold that Summer against you."
"Felix stopped... trusting me," his voice barely breaks a whisper, "he stopped loving me because of them," it trembles, catching, and you see tears in his eyes. A flush was rising up his cheeks, grief and a strange kind of fury overwhelming him it seemed, much to your surprise, "you should hold that Summer against me, should hate me, should -" it's spilling from him now, with such speed, such anger that it's almost frightening.
"Ollie, love -"
"I wasn't in my right mind, I was sick and obsessed and- and- and I can't believe I hurt you like that -"
"What are you talking about?"
Through his tears, his grief, his outburst, Oliver threw his arm over his face, unable to look at you, unable to look at anything in this room he now seemed to regret being in.
"I just wanted him to love me too," Oliver choked out, "I know you tried to help me - I can't believe I hurt you, I know you loved him - but I didn't want him to love anyone if he didn't love me."
"Oliver."
"I put the cocaine in his wine. I gave him the bottle. I left him there."
To your surprise, as much as the news hurts, it comes in a dull wave of grief, not the sharp, stinging kind you were braced for. What you don't expect is the sympathy that wells up inside of you for the man who just admitted to killing your best friend.
But you had spent years grieving for Felix, had come to terms with it, made peace with it. It's a shock to the system, of course, to learn he was murdered, but you can see the hurt, the guilt that Oliver had been carrying with him, and knows how it feels to be overwhelmed with love for Felix Catton to the point where you'd do unspeakable things with him in your heart. You'd ruined lived over one-word insults spat in his direction because that was who you were, that was what you did.
And you knew Oliver Quick, who he was, how he operated, the kind of desperate jealousy and need to be needed that became dangerous or perverse when they went unsated. Neither of you were the people you once were.
Carefully, you drape yourself over Oliver as he wept, wrapping him up tightly in a hug with one arm, other reaching up to brush through his dark, messy hair.
"Loving Felix makes us do terrible things," you murmur softly, fingers carding through his hair, "you took someone special from this world, but we can't change that."
"Why the fuck are you being so nice right now?" Oliver groans, voice full of disbelief, "I just told you -"
"You loved Felix and he stopped loving you back; you were drunk, and obsessive, and out of your mind with some psychosexual desire. You killed the man you loved, that we loved," you recount firmly, and he quiets down, still sniffling, "do you regret it?"
"Yes," he whispers.
"Are you lying?"
A long pause follows.
"I don't know."
"Did you ever stop loving him?"
"I don't think I ever will," then, moving his arm, he reaches out for your face, gently cupping your jaw. His eyes are bright red, smudged tear tracks shining on his cheeks, "I don't think you will either." You shake your head, confirming as much, before you turn your face and press a kiss to his palm.
"You're not that same person, Oliver, neither am I. The version of me from that Summer might never forgive the Ollie that killed Fi, but I know you now, and I know you love me, and you'll love this house, and the memory of Felix, just like I will."
"Why are you so good to me?"
"Because you're not a saint, and you're not a devil. You can't change the past. You're just a human, full of flaws, but you're better than you used to be, I know."
"I love you." He coaxes you forward, bringing you in for a passionate, messy kiss, murmuring against your lips, "I love you, I love you, I love you."
Still, you keep this revelation between the two of you. Elspeth never needed to know.
It was a small ceremony at the beginning of Spring on the grounds of the Saltburn Estate. Elspeth was barely able to get out of bed anymore, so the location was more for her sake than anything else. She'd insisted on taking the reigns for planning the wedding though, looking through folders and magazines with you and Oliver at her bedside.
A beautiful flower archway, Duncan officiating, and only your families as guests. At your suggestion and reassurance, Oliver had worked hard to repair his relationship with his family.
"You don't have to lie about being important anymore," you'd smirked at him, "you're inheriting the Saltburn Estate, you're marrying into my family; you're Oliver Quick, that means something."
Oliver's family had marvelled at the estate the minute they arrived at the property; his sisters and their partners seemed shocked and delighted.
"Is this your place?" One had asked you, eyes bright and incredulous as you and Oliver were giving them all the tour.
"Ollie's actually," you give him arm a squeeze as you give him a proud smile, watching as he ducks his head, flush with embarrassment.
"This is you house, Ollie?! What the fuck!?" Another shouted, even as her own partner laughed while asking her to tone it down.
Before the wedding even begins, his oldest sister has talked him into letting she and her children visit in the Summer.
It comes as a surprise when your own parents show up, though you suspect it's because Elspeth personally called to invite them, not because of you. They too are impressed by the house, but less so than the Quicks; they'd been there for gatherings in years past, after all.
When your grandmother arrives, however, that's when it all becomes real for you. Unlike your parents, she dotes on you. Your grandfather had been the head of the business when he'd been alive; your grandmother was a dedicated professional, but always a romantic at heart, which is where your mother claimed to have gotten her artistic proclivities from.
Oliver says you have the same, beautiful eyes, and she chuckles.
"He's a charmer, I see," she teases, but wraps him up in a hug. "You be good to them, Mister Quick," your grandmother tells him in a faux-stern voice as she leans out of the hug, "we're the kind of family you don't want to get on the wrong side of." Despite how she's waving a finger at him and doing her best angry glare, Oliver can't help but cast you a fond smile, wrapping an arm around you.
"I'm aware, ma'am; every day I feel lucky to have Y/N by my side."
This seems to sate your grandmother, who pets his cheek fondly, and tells you that you've got a good one.
"I think so too."
It's a beautiful, perfect day, the best day of your life so far, where the worst day is now but a mere memory. All that matters is Oliver Quick, and the love in his eyes as he looks at you, as he promises you;
"This house will be full of people who love you for the rest of your life."

Au where when Saiki was younger, he sometimes ran into Aren's mom injured and helped her out, and he became something like an unofficial medic to her and her little group. Sometimes when Saiki was patching her up, she would vaguely talk about her kid around his age and stuff. Well, she wouldn't mention Aren by name or talk about him out loud but Saiki just reads her thoughts and so he vaguely knows about her little Hoodlum but then she and her gang moved and Saiki being a little too good at Rock Paper Scissors happened and so they got separated and drifted apart.
Only for some odd years later (Like, four or five) and Aren transfers into Saiki's class with his whole trying to be a normie spiel and how he is totally not gonna be a punk anymore. Aren doesn't really look like his parents (In the same way of how Kusuo and Kusuke don't really look like Kurumi) so Saiki doesn't really suspect anything- and neither does Aren, and they carry on. Imagine a similar situation as the street magician Chouno Uryoku and how his ex-wife did not look anything like how the dude thought of her.
Saiki never really got out of his Street Medic habits and Aren sometimes coming to school with some scrapes from gangsters either trying to pick a fight or drag him back into his past only exacerbates Saiki's medic habits. Like, he always used to carry bandages and alcohol wipes and antibiotic ointment, but had talked to just carrying bandages because a whole medkit had been annoying to carry and needless for an esper like him. Though, he had started carrying a bit more for Kaidou and Hairo when they become closer. (Saiki adds the antibiotic ointment back into his repertoire for Aren)
When they gets close enough and Aren invites them to his house is when the fun really starts. Kaidou and Nendo find Aren's baby album and look through it and everything. But Saiki spots a smaller album on the book shelf and is thinking "Better not show too many of these family albums to those two, who knows what we might see" trying not to think about the album collections documenting his parent's dates and stuff.
And when Aren comes back into the room the four are just vibing and hanging out, Aren even bought out some Coffee jelly as an offering thank you for coming ya introverted bean. So, even Saiki is in a pretty good mood. And then they hear the front door open and close with shuffling and stuff with a 'We're home, Hoodlum!' and Aren going to greet his parents like the totally good kid he is, and Saiki is like "??? That voice sounds kinda familar."
And whadduya know!
When Aren's mom turns around from putting stuff in the fridge, Saiki instanting recognizes her and its the same lady he helped all those years ago! I imagine its not a big dramatic moment but there is a "What a surprise" moment. And she's just like "Haha! Little Medic, you're friends with my brat, what a small world! I hope he's treating you and his other friends right."
And Aren is standing there after trying to introduce his friends like "What." Kaidou says "You know Saiki???? But he never leaves his house!" But Nendou is the one to be like "Wow, Aren's Mom, how do you know my buddy?"'
To which Aren's Mom says briefly that Saiki used to get discounts from the stores near her hangouts (Rough part of town, but great prices for stingy child espers) and how he used to help her and some of her girls. Aren is over here dumbfounded, and Kaidou is just like, "wouldn't he have been like, six, a decade ago??" That Saiki pointedly does not confirm.
But Saiki and Aren's mom are over here just casually talking while all the other teenagers are standing there, bewildered. Like, Aren is over here being like "Hold on, I thought Saiki was a goody-goody, He knows my mom?!?" Meanwhile:
Aren's Mom: How's that brother of yours?
Saiki: Moved to Britain and is still a sore loser.
Aren's Mom: Haha, good to know he's not bothering ya! So, how's my little hoodlum doing in class? Not being a brat is he?
Saiki in a true show of open candidness: If he was a bother, he wouldn't still be in my class.
And Kaidou and Aren are nearly shitting their pants from this being like "SAIKI?????" with it just completely flying over Nendo's head.
Then, the rest of the hang out is Aren's Mom sharing stories of tiny Aren while Saiki is eating more Coffee Jelly

Tumblr media
A loud knock at her apartment door interrupts Y/N from the movie she's just begun watching. Sighing, she sets the freshly popped popcorn on the coffee table and walks towards the door, wrapping her cardigan tightly around herself. When she opens the door, she is surprised to see Jay standing there, an angry expression on his face. He storms into her flat before she can say anything.
She shuts the door as she turns around to follow him inside her small living area, confused and worried for her partner.
He was in a good mood when she left the district earlier this evening, laughing and joking with her. She can't think of anything that would have made him angry in the time between then and now. He told her that he was going home to do nothing for the rest of the night.
"Is everything okay?" She speaks up softly, unsure of where his head's at right now.
"No, it isn't," his voice is filled with resentment and anger as he glares at her. She never imagined she'd be the one to face his unsettling glare he one gives suspects when he isn't taking any of their crap.
When he reveals what he's angry about, she is overcome with guilt. "Voight just informed me that you've asked to be transferred to the homicide unit at district 27."
'Shit,' is the first thing that comes to her mind. She wasn't sure how she was going to tell him that she had requested the transfer, but she didn't expect him to find out through Hank, who was refusing to sign the paperwork. S Shaking her head and lifting her palm to her face, she massages her temples, feeling her own anger at her boss. She should have anticipated him to going to Jay to persuade her to stay with intelligence.
"Were you planning on telling me before you left?" His irritation was still evident in his voice.
"Of course, I was," she tells him, her voice raising slightly. "Hank is refusing to sign the papers, so I don't know what's going to happen."
"He doesn't want you to leave, and I don't want you to leave either," he confesses, his voice also rising.
"Well, I have to," she frowns, her arms folded across her chest as if attempting to create a barrier between them, knowing he won't stop there.
"Did I do something to make you no longer want to work with me?"
"Of course not," she says, shaking her head. "You're the best partner I've ever had, and I trust you more than anyone. You've always had my back; you're honest, entertaining, and loyal. Even when you're being a pain in the ass with your Halstead sass."
"So, what's the problem?" He shouts in frustration, his eyes still filled with anger and confusion.
"The problem is…" she stops to take a long breath in and out, trying not to become overly emotional. "No one else can make me feel the way you do, and I hate that."
Jay's stare changes to a shocked expression in an instant, his blue eyes wide and his mouth slightly ajar as his body is frozen in place. When he does not respond, she continues talking.
"I hate it because I had one rule: never fall in love with someone I work with, especially my partner," she reveals.
Everyone was aware of her 'no dating in the workplace' rule and where it stemmed from. Fresh out of the academy she'd been paired up with a cop who had left the academy two years before her. She'd fallen hard and fast for the guy only to find out he was engaged to a civilian. She broke it off as soon as she found out, but it was messy, and she ended up transferring to district 21. It took her three years to move up to intelligence where she was partnered up with Jay.
The day that she met him, she knew she was screwed. After a week of working with Jay, she asked Hank, who she'd known since she was a kid since he worked with her father, if she could be partnered with someone else. Hank refused, having seen how well the two work together.
Y/N tried her hardest to put distance between her and Jay but as they got to know each other on a personal level as well as a professional level, she knew she couldn't stop it from happening and all she could do was try and deny it. It seemed to be working out for her until Jay got shot multiple times in a shootout with a drug cartel two months ago. He almost lost his life, and it terrified her. Knowing she couldn't be with him, because she thinks he doesn't feel the same and even if he did there was Hank's dislike for in-house romances, she thought her only option to move past these feelings would be to transfer out and put actual distance between them.
"You came along and drew me in with those pretty blue eyes and that smug little smirk," she laments, her arms at her sides. "And then I got to know you and worked with you, and you were so frustrating but also so kind, protective, and caring. "I was in love with you before I realized it, no matter how hard I tried not to be."
Jay wraps one arm around her waist and the other on her face. His soft pink lips crash into hers in a passionate kiss as he pulls her body up against him. As she leans into the kiss, Y/N's eyelids close and her arms go over his shoulders as she gives into the feelings, she's tried so hard to deny.
When the kiss is over, they are both out of breath. He kisses her on the forehead, leaving his lips to linger there for a moment.  "Don't go through with the transfer."
"I have to," she sighs, smoothing his coat and concentrating on that so she doesn't immerse herself in those blue eyes she adores. "You know Hank dislikes workplace romances."
"As I said before, Hank doesn't want you to go," he reminds her.
"When he finds out about this, he could change his mind."
"I doubt it," he says, taking a step back to look at her.
"What are we going to do?" She wonders aloud, a little unsure.
"Talk to Voight, keep it professional at work, and take it one day at a time," he says, as if he's given it much consideration. "But right now, I'm going to tell you that I love you and kiss you again," he adds, dipping his head to the side as he leans in.
"I love you, too," she murmurs as their lips meet again in a kiss, this time softer and more tender than the first.

Could I request Vil, Malleus, Ruggie and Jamil with a Fem!Yuu who is a seamstress that is really, really good at sewing, knitting, embroidery, and other forms of textile design.
If you're to busy to do this request, I completely understand.
Love your profile picture btw, it's so cute!
~Sure I got time~
Tailor-Made
Seamstress!Yuu x Vil , Ruggie, Malleus, and Jamil
(NRC is a mixed school with boys and girls.)
Tumblr media
Crewel stepped over the scattered bolts of fabric as he tried to get to the bed. The room was a mess as always with sketchbook paper littering that girl's desk. Said girl was in a deep burrowing in layers and layers of loose fabric, pillows and discarded ribbons.
"My dear pup, I don't know how you will manage to get to class when you can't even wake yourself up." Crewel said to his ward as he pinched her cheek.
The girl grunted and tried to pull away before mumbling in her sleep."Five more minutes."
Crewel stared at her incredulously as he pulled harder.
"Five minutes, soon you will have no minutes! The carriage will be here soon and you're room is a mess, your hair is matted, and your not ready for school!" Crewel was rather upset.
If he had it his way she'd be shipped off to an all girls school in France but she chose NRC for some reason. Sure, it wasn't a bad school and he could look out for her, but the boys there where characters. Why did she want to transfer there?
After prodding her, Yuu eventually shook herself awake and prepared for the big day. Her stuff was packed and her familiar Grim was at her side.
"The carriage is here!"Crewel called up the stairs. The girl came running down with her hair combed and uniform tidy.
Crewel sighed fondly over the girl. She had grown so much from when she was just little pup. Her mother would be so proud.
Divya, was an extraordinary woman. He misses her dearly but her daughter was still his treasure.
"Divus? I'm leaving."Yuu looked at him with concern in her eyes.
"Oh right," He said pushing his feelings down as he kissed her forehead "Be good pup. I'll see you there."
"See ya, Da- Divus!" She panicked before rushing out the door.
With that she entered her coffin and had Grim stay at home until she the entrance ceremony was over. When she awoke it was time to stand before the magic mirror.
Her soul resonated with one dorm one made for her: Pomefiore
She stood up a little straighter when she heard it. Part of her had doubts but now she knew. Her smile was wide as she saw her guardian smiling at her as though there was no doubt. She was just like him and Divya, people who understood beauty and perfection.
Vil
Tumblr media
Being a housewarden meant keeping his students in line. That meant also keeping students from fighting. The girls were currently dealing with a problem. One he had to take control on.
The new girl had caused a mess involving dye. Vil would have to punish her by making her clean. Though he couldn't help but do it half-heartedly.
She was rather meek about the whole ordeal and apologized over and over. She had done it with the best intentions of adding a color to her list of fabrics and it just got everywhere.
He couldn't deny that it was a rather nice shade of lavender. Still, he could see this becoming a problem. He chose to give her a room where she could do her dyeing hobby in peace. They had a room for such things anyways even if it was abandoned.
Form that day he rarely saw her. When he did she was scurrying around campus gathing materials or with friends.
He found out why from the girls. Yuu was working on something big and they were helping. They were bubbly and giddy as can be when he asked but they never told what I was. They did say something about the upcoming ball and cheaking on her. His curiosity peeked, he entered the sewing room.
The room wasn't dusty like before but the smell of old wood lingered mixed with perfume and paint. Yuu stood in the center with glasses perched on her nose and measuring tape around her neck. She was placing pins on the hem of a gown. Her eyes focused on getting it just right. She nodded before pulling out her pen and using her unique magic [Let's Stick Together] causing the pieces of fabric to fuse together.
She fingers danced across the waterfalls of handspun lace as she pulled, cut, and sowed the gown. It was the same color that drew Vil's eyes.
He looked around as the seamstress focused and became taking note of other objects in the room. Mannequins were lined up in rows. Each had a suit or dress that was meticulously crafted but some were bare. Each were designed beautifully. The moment he touched the silk of one the suits his eyes caught sight of a silhouette.
In the corner of the room was a mannequin covered by linen.
Vil eyed the unaware girl and heard the 'click clack' of her hands weaving lace designs.
He lifted the blanket and he was more then just enraptured.
The suit was quite grand, vintage but new.
When Vil saw it he felt a pull in his chest. One you'd get if you saw something perfect for you while browsing and you are over taken by such a need and desire for it.
He wanted this suit. The ball was in ta few weeks and had a outfit planned but he needed this suit. Only this one would be worthy of him.
His eyes went back to the girl who finally looked up.
"VIL-SAMA!" She shouted her glasses falling off her face but still attached to the chain around her neck.
"I see you've been working very hard." Vil praised her with a pat on the head. Yuu wrinkled her nose blushing at the remark.
"What are you doing here?" She asked dumbfounded.
"I wanted to check on you. There is so much silk and satin here you'd think it was my closet." Vil mused.
"Oh, this? A few of the girls are paying me to make their gowns for the ball and a few boys too. I've been making them in pairs." Yuu said showing off her latest gown to be finished.
"I see, what about that one?" Vil pointed to the suit that was hidden away.
"Oh, not that one. It wasn't really made for anyone." Yuu shook her head as she pulled the cover back over it. "It's not worth looking at."
Vil felt a sting in his chest. How could he say that about something so stunning, something she made with her own hands.
"You seemed to work very hard on it. "Vil said keeping calm.
"Yeah, I guess. It's not very good though. I think I made it to match some kind of prince aesthetic but messed up. Besides what good is it if no one would wear it." Yuu sounded upset with herself "It's better sometimes to stick with what you know people like. People like handmade clothes. Something made for them, not for me."
Vil wanted to argue with her but he couldn't. She was right in some aspects. Only some.
"I'd like to commission you. Make me a suit just like this one here. Fix a few things. Change the materials on the undershirt and skirt to silk." He ordered her.
Yuu agreed reluctantly. She was sure Vil would think her design was cheap and while looking fancy at first, its commodity won't last.
Still, Vil didn't let her slack on his suit and came in regularly to check on her. Almost everyday he came to watch her and advise her on styles. He even modeled a few things she was working on. Sometimes when she was having bad days he'd just sit with her until it was over. When he needed her, she'd rush over to the shoot to fix whatever the problem was. Sometimes the stylist on set just didn't get it right. They were quite the duo. It was clear from the nickname Vil gave her. Ube.
There were only three other girls in the dorm and they noticed Vil hanging around. Soon enough they were giggling amongst each other as they helped the seamstress with her work.
One girl in particular who had become Rook's little spy as of late made it no hint that the ball's theme had them going in pairs. She also made it no hint that Vil would be behind if he didn't find a partner.
"So tragic it is! Almost every girl is already taken and so are the guys." Belladona said throwing her hands up as she spoke.
"Is this you asking me to go with you." Vil had seen this tactic before.
"Of course not, Rook is taking me. You're so busy I doubt you realized that a certain girl hasn't been asked." Belladona was Yuu's closest female friend. After the dye incident, they began forming a friendship. All the girls loved the hardworking seamstress. They just didn't want her to miss out.
Vil got the message and berated himself for not thinking of this. Almost immediately he went to visit Yuu who had finished the last of her commissions just in time with a few days to spare.
"Vil! You're here! Look I'm finally done!"She showed off the finished lineup of outfits with pride.
Vil didn't looked happy though. He knew the owners of each of the set. He felt something missing.
"You're missing one" he said simply.
Yuu looked around for a second before shrugging.
"What do you mean? Yours is right here." She asked.
"I meant yours. You aren't going to make your own dress for the ball?" Vil asked knowing how much pride she had in her work.
"I didn't think I'd have time to. I had a design but with all the orders..." She fell silent "It's fine Vil, it's just a party. I'm happy to see everyone else shine."
"What good is it to say that? How can you see everyone else shine when you aren't even there." Vil has been annoyed by this women for too long.
"Vil?" Yuu asked feeling the temperature shift
"I am so sick of your self depreciating martyr complex! It's either, my work isn't good enough or putting everyone else before yourself. Can't you just admit that you are a talented person, that your hard work means something? Why can't you just see yourself like I do? Someone who's talented, beautiful, and caring. Why is that so hard?" Vil poured his heart. He didn't knownhe was holding this back. Every thought he had at the back of his mind was rushing out. "I'm sorry. It's just...I wish you'd care about yourself more. I want you to be happy."
Yuu knew Vil cared but she was dumbstruck at how much he cared. They had never put it into words.
"I'm sorry. I guess I never...thought you felt that way." Yuu said "I doubt I'll be able to go now anyways. I only have three days left to make one."
"Then allow me to help." Vil didn't know much of dress making but he had seen Yuu do it enough to get an idea.
Thankfully Belladona, Dory, and Aza came in to help as well. The dress was finished in record time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yuu loved it. I was better then she imagined.
"Well then, all it needs now is a suit to match." Vil said rolling the mannequin that wore his suit to stand next to it. "It looks best like this."
Jamil
Jamil knew it was cold but he was only going to be out for a few minutes before returning to his dorm. It was not that long a walk. Beside he had a jacket on.
"Jamil! Wait!" Yuu called out to him, her basket of yarn bouncing on her arm. "It's cold out!"
"I'll be fine." He said waving goodbye.
"No, don't. Put this on first!" Yuu wrapped a big scarf around Jamil's neck.
The chunky knitted scraf was only the beginning as a hat and mittens were added on. All he needed now was an obnoxiously cute knitted sweater to top off the look. Granted it was a rather comfortable scarf.
Still Yuu was a bit of a mother hen. Something fostered by being the tailor of the Pomefiore dorm. Having the fix clothes all the time.
Jamil had been a recipient of that treatment after getting a few rips and tears. One he got a rip in his PE uniform while dismounting his broom she immediately mended it with her unique magic.
He had seen her use it a few times to punish her rowdy friends by fusing their hands to walls or statues to keep them from moving.
Jamil didn't know whether to be thankful or annoyed by the mother hen. But time told that he began to rely on her help. After an incident involving a carnivorous plant in the greenhouse he managed to ruin his uniform jacket and didn't have time to fix it. He left it in her care.
"Don't worry I'll give it back to you before classes tomorrow." She said brightly before scurrying off like she always does.
Tumblr media
Jamil couldn't believe what he got back the next day. It was his jacket but it was beautifully embroidered with gold.
"You didn't need to go that far." He said trying not to look bashful.
"Oh, I guess i can just cut out the thread." She responded a bit disappointed.
"Absolutely not! You made this for me! It mine!" Jamil yelled pulling the jacket on and keeping away from her.
"Aww, Jamil~ I knew you'd love it!" She cheered as she tired to hug him.
This was something special just for him. He doesn't like his things taken away. When others saw him in wearing it they were envious. So much envy that everyone wanted one. Embroidered uniforms were the new trend after all.
Actually, Jamil felt something vaugly familiar about this. He went to the trophy hall to check his suspensions. Inside a glass case was a uniform from a former student that was kept.
"Divya Khatri"
She was first place in many art competitions. Their were even a few pictures hanging in classrooms that were her's.
What Jamil was looking for was the similar style in the embroidery but now all he could see was the last name.
"Khatri"
I guess we all have something we want to live up to.
Ruggie
There is no such thing as wasted material. Every leftover scrap of cloth is useful.
Ruggie would often drop off old clothes he wanted tailored or recycled. Yuu didn't ask where he got it but she was able to make such cute outfits for the hyena. It saves money on material and they can dye the clothes however they want.
It was around Christmas when he asked Yuu to help make clothes tosent back home to his family. A few babies were born recently in the neighborhood and he wanted to send something.
Yuu agreed immediately and began knitting something for the children.
Tumblr media
She might have gone too far because she ended up with a lot more clothes then she realized. She remembered that Ruggie's community is pretty big so a few extras for the bigger kids would be useful.
By the time Ruggie came to check on her she was working on something bigger. A quilt, you can't welcome a cub into the world without a quilt. It's something they need all their lives.
Ruggie had to pull her out of her sewing haze with a shake.
"I don't think you'll finish in time." Riggie said nuzzling her cheek.
Yuu pouted, a bit disappointed but understood.
"Don't be sad, why don't you come visit and we can work on it there." Ruggie chimed trying to maker her feel better. "I'm sure the kids would like to thank you in person."
"Really? I'll ask Divus and we'll go as soon as break starts!" With this she immediately started rexting her guardian.
"I've always wondered. Why do you call your dad by his first name?" Ruggie asked tilting his head makingnhis ear wiggle a little
"Divus isn't my dad. He just raised me after my my mom..." She didn't say the rest but you know the rest.
"It's okay, I understand. We have more in common then I thought. We orphans gotta stick together!" Ruggie said going back to nuzzling his giggly friend.
It's a good thing Divus didn't see that.
During the break Yuu spent time finishing the quilt with Ruggie's grandmother. Divius supervised the visit of course before they left to go home.
Tumblr media
Malleus
Malleus liked watching Yuu work. Specifically watching her use the loom. It was calming to listen to the calming clacking of the wood knocking against the frame.
Even more he liked the spinning wheel when she was making yarn. The monotonous sound was calming and familiar.
"OW!" Yuu yelped as she pulled her hand way from the silver needle. A small drop of ruby blood fell staining the white yarn.
Immediately Malleus was at her side holding her injured hand.
"Are you feeling alright?" He asked "Do you feel faint?"
"I'm fine, I just need a band-aid. Rook will probably know any minute now and tattel to Vil again." Yuu sighed, she would be banned from the work shop until it heals.
Whatever compelled his sweet little lizard brain to lick the wound was beyond her. But it worked whatever it was supposed to do because the pin prick healed.
"Unhand her Roi du Dragon!"Rook shouted as he appeared out of the great blue yonder AGAIN!
Yuu isn't even surprised. He was doing it on purpose.
After that happened Yuu wanted to apologize for her vice warden's behavior AGAIN. She made him a embroidered handkerchief.
Tumblr media
Mellues was very proud of his handkerchief and thanked her for it buy gifting her a pouch of jewels from his hoard. How thoughtful.
Only for him to come back with puppydog eyes with the scorched handkerchief in hand.
"I'm sorry, your precious gift was ruined." He was clearly upset.
"Don't worry, let me take a look at it." Yuu comforted him as she gently took the cloth.
It had a few singed holes in the fabric. Yuu made a 'tsk' sound as she examined.
"It was an accident." He said as if he asking for forgiveness.
"It's no problem. I could just fuse the fabric and re embroidery it or...I can just not" She said thoughtfully.
"Not?" Malleus asked.
"Well I can't unburn it. It's burnt. I can remake it but it won't be the same handkerchief I gave you. I can however stich around the holes and fuse it, preventing it from unraveling. With a bit of tlc I can make it better without distorting the original design." Yuu explained taking the cloth over to her desk.
Malleus agreed readily as he watched Yuu save his handkerchief.
Halfway through Divus called asking what she wanted for dinner.
"You are very close to the professor. Are you two related?" Malleus asked after she hung up.
"He's my guardian. Raised me since I was 4 and I learned everything I know from him and mom." Yuu answered.
"Oh, he's your father. I had no idea." The dragon said a bit surprised.
"No, not my dad. He was there for me when mom died. They dropped me off in front of his house when no one else could claim me. He was barely an adult back then, like 20." Yuu said in a clipped tone "He had enough to deal with without a kid being dropped in his lap. He probably sees me more as a sister then a daughter."
"Did he say that?" Mallues asked seeing the hurt in her eyes.
Yuu had spent her life blaming herself for Divus not being free.
'Of course not. I just assumed-" Yuu started but stoped "Let's just finish this first."
Crewel
Yuu rushed home that evening since it was the weekend. After greeting the dogs she cornered Divus in the kitchen wearing that dalmatian apron she had made him when she was 9. It had red ruffles and she made one for herself with pink ruffles to match. She had out grown it a long time ago.
Tumblr media
"I'm home, Divus." She said peeking into the pot only to receive a slap on the hand with a spoon.
"Not yet pup, I don't want you sneaking bites before I'm finished." Crewel said sternly as he ordered her to help instead of being a nuisance.
Yuu got started on the salad like always as she huffed like a tired puppy.
"Did you have a good day at school?" Crewel asked checking on the potroast.
"Yeah, Malleus needed help fixing his handkerchief." Yuu said cutting up the lettuce.
"I'm not sure about you hanging around him. He's polite but he's still dangerous even if he doesn't mean to be." Divus was more worried about Yuu dating then the potentially dangerous dragon.
"Dad! Please don't, I can hang around boys and keep myself safe." Yuu whined.
Divus didn't say anything at first.
"Dad?"He whispered under his breath a smile creasing his lips.
"I meant Divus!" Yuu blushed.
Crewel turned down the heat on the burner before turning to face Yuu.
"Yuu, don't force yourself. You call whatever make you feel comfortable. I've been wanting to talk about this with you. I've raised you since you were little. You're as good as a daughter as one that was my flesh and blood. You're my little girl." Crewel said reaching over hugging.
"Thanks...dad." Yuu held back tears as she hugged him back.
Over dinner the two talked about the normal event of the day.
"Hey, dad? Can we talk about mom?" Yuu asked, he knew Divus never liked talking about her. It hurt him alot.
"She was my best friend. She was older then me when we went to NRC. She was brilliant artist too....."
Crewel talked on and on about his memories of Divya. He never mentioned how she died, he focused on her life. Sharing the good time just like she would have wanted.

Oh!!! It's a good thing I was staying up late or else I might've missed this!! (Oh god this got a lil long, I'm so sorry ajdgskahd)
Using she/her, how about a kakegurui one where R(eader) is a relative of Yumeko's, maybe her sister (or cousin could work too), and it's like. Yumeko's the fun loving one, her canon sister I imagine is the calm one, and R is like the angry takes no shit from anyone type, and she's there to watch over Yumeko's trouble attracting ass to keep her inline, so to focus on that, she doesn't gamble (Yumeko does enough of that for both of them) but now that's making trouble turn to R instead in the form of an infuriating Kirari, R like back talks to her and would probably bite a hand that gets too close if she has to, and when Kirari in one (underhanded) way or another manages to corner R into a gambling match with some poor soul so Kirari can observe her, R shows that she's just as good and insane as her relatives (though calms down faster?) , aaaahh I don't know what else to add on or how to end this, can't think much this late so here you go!! I hope you have fun!!
The Jabami Blood Flows
Jabami Sister Reader, Yumeko Jabami and Kirari Momobami (Platonic)
A/N: Here it is! Sorry I didn’t really get into the gamble. I couldn’t make myself research exactly how craps works and I’m not smart enough to calculate any math or cheats. The canon gambling timeline might be a little messed up too because it’s been awhile… But I think I captured the spirit of what you were asking for. Thanks for reading! Word Count: 2,523
(Y/n) couldn’t remember what life was like when her parents were alive, nor could she really remember what her oldest sister Souko was like before Yumeko had to send her away to live in that special hospital. All she knew was that life as a Bami was eat or be eaten, take or be taken from, and she hated it.
When Yumeko told (Y/n) of her plans to transfer to Hyakkaou, she was dead set against her going. That was where she went to school, Momobami Kirari. The one who had a hand in their older sister’s decline in mental health along with their own aunt. However, nothing that she said to Yumeko could get her to change her mind. So (Y/n) did what any good and responsible sister would do and filled out her own transfer papers so she could tag along.
It was difficult keeping track of Yumeko when they were two years apart, especially when the middle school was in a separate wing of the sprawling building.
But after she had heard about Yumeko becoming a house pet within the first week, (Y/n) had nearly blown a gasket. In retaliation, she quickly sized up the casino disguised as a school and realized the students could do basically whatever they wanted. (Y/n) was disciplined, a diligent worker and good student, so she got all of her schoolwork ahead of time and did it at home so she could keep an eye on Yumeko throughout the day.
She allowed Yumeko to take part in the Debt Swapping Game to undo the damage she had done to herself and her “new friend” Saotome, but after that (Y/n) was all over her… not that her nagging was very affective, unfortunately.
“You’re so cute when you pout!” Yumeko gushed, squeezing (Y/n)’s cheeks.
(Y/n) grabbed her sister’s wrists and groaned, “Neesan, I’m serious! No more gambling! We have the money, pay off the debt so you can stop wearing that ridiculous tag!”
“Sweet little sister, always looking out for me. You don’t worry so much, okay? I want to keep this tag just for awhile longer.”
“Why? It makes no sense, people treat you worse than an animal!” (Y/n) only got more upset the longer this conversation dragged on, “Get rid of it!”
“I’m not going to do that,” Yumeko smiled, somehow so carefree, “it makes for some really interesting gambles!”
“You’re so stupid!” (Y/n) suddenly yelled, finally shocking the smile off of Yumeko’s face, replaced by mild surprise, “It’s like you want to end up like Oneesan, you want to leave me all alone!”
“(Y/n)—“ Yumeko reached out her hand to (Y/n) but she ran passed her and kept running until she found an empty classroom to cry in.
She couldn’t cry forever though, and soon fell into a quiet, simmering anger that began to boil the more she thought about how their lives had come to this.
“Momobami Kirari.” She hissed hatefully. She ruined Souko and was in the process of taking Yumeko away from her too. Well, (Y/n) wasn’t going to standby quietly.
She wiped her eyes and and stood up, tromping through the halls, she followed the signs until she came to the Student Council room and without bothering to knock, she pushed the door open with a loud thump, making the pair that resided within look up.
“You can’t just charge in here like that!” Sayaka was quick to reprimand.
But Kirari put up a hand, “Don’t be troubled, Sayaka. It’s just one of my dear little cousins paying me a visit. I’d recognize a Jabami anywhere. Care for tea, (Y/n)? I haven’t seen you since you were quite small, you’ve grown a lot.”
“Jabami…” Sayaka’s mood soured a bit more. One Jabami was already one snake too many.
“And you look very cute in the middle school uniform.” Kirari continued on, tilting her head towards Sayaka, “I remember your middle school days Sayaka, you looked very cute in that uniform too, although this one is nice as well.” She tugged on the hem of Sayaka’s jacket for emphasis.
“Thah- thank you, President.” And like that, Sayaka was subdued, but still a little wary of their impromptu guest.
“I don’t want your stupid tea, or small talk!” (Y/n) yelled. “I want you to get rid of the house pet system!”
“You can’t just storm in here and demand such a thing!” Sayaka bristled.
“Ah, is Yumeko refusing to pay off her debt?” Kirari sat back in her chair slightly, “Unfortunately for you, I’m not inclined to accept your request. Your sister is just too fun to watch.”
“I hate you!” (Y/n) seethed, Kirari’s eyes widened, but it was clear amusement rather than surprise at the outburst, “I hate what the Bami clan is under your rule! If it was someone else— if things could have been different— My parents would be alive, Souko wouldn’t be in the hospital and you wouldn’t be trying to take Yumeko from me right now! I hate gambling! I hate that when people gamble, they are risking the happiness of people they are supposed to care about too! I hate you for pitting everyone against each other all the time! You have the power to stop all this before we all destroy each other for good, but you don’t use it, and I despise you for it!”
“Oh my,” Kirari cupped her between her thumb and index fingers, “so much resentment for a girl so young. Are you sure you aren’t Saotome’s little sister?” She chuckled.
“This isn’t funny!”
“Is it not? I find it a bit amusing at least. For someone with Jabami blood flowing through her veins, you are very adamantly going against your nature. It’s interesting. You might be one to watch as well.”
“What the hell is that supposed to mean?”
“I think Yumemi has plans for your sister today. You might want to start making your way to the auditorium to cheer her on.” Kirari said instead, steepling her fingers in front of her coral blue lips.
A look of realization and then dread fell over (Y/n)’s face. She gave Kirari one more glare, then bolted from the student council room.
“What a rude girl!” Sayaka huffed. “Has she no respect for upperclassmen at all?”
“Easy Sayaka,” Kirari soothed with a teasing lilt, “I think my week just became a little more interesting.”
***
In the days after Yumeko’s admittedly unique gamble against Yumemi, (Y/n) had taken to giving her dear older sister the cold shoulder. It made Yumeko sad and pouty of course, but until she could promise (Y/n) that she was done gambling for good, (Y/n) refused to talk to her. She started going back to her classes like normal instead of following her sister around and did her best not to think about all the bad situations Yumeko could be putting herself through.
But she couldn’t ignore her sister for long, not when an unfamiliar upperclassman came to her classroom to summon her for a gamble. Apparently, Yumeko had got herself in a lot more trouble than (Y/n) had dared thought possible, or so the house pet had claimed.
“Where is she? Yumeko!” (Y/n) ran into the room, only turning around when she heard the door lock behind her. “Hey! What are you doing? Open the door!”
“That was a lot easier than I thought it would be.”
(Y/n) whipped her head to the back of the room to see a tired looking upperclassman, another house pet, sitting at a fancy craps table in front of a large mirror that almost took up the whole wall.
“I’ve been waiting for an opportunity like this to get back at Jabami for what she and Saotome did to me at that damn debt swapping game. You’re her little sister, right? What am I saying, of course you are.”
“What do you want? Who are you?” (Y/n) asked defensively.
“Kiwatari Jun.” The upperclassman answered with a smirk, “And I’m gonna turn you into a house pet.”
“Like hell you are. You can’t force someone into a gamble unless they are part of the council. Unlock the door.” (Y/n) commanded, but Jun chuckled darkly.
“You’re right, I can’t make you do anything, but the door is locked from the outside, and I don’t have the key.”
“Then I guess we’re just stuck here forever until we die.” (Y/n) hotly retorted.
“Not the case,” he knocked on the mirror behind him. “See this, it’s a one way window. People can see us, but we can’t see them. Once we gamble, someone will come and let us out.”
“I’m not going to gamble you.”
“You will. Word is your sister is going on a gambling tear without you yapping in her ear. She’s got a real big gamble coming up today with that crazy Beautification Committee officer. You know, the one who likes swinging a gun around.”
“Yumeko already gambled her and was disappointed. She wants nothing to do with Ikishima now.” (Y/n) had really hated that gamble. It was exceedingly frightening. She was glad Yumeko had been put off by Midari’s recklessness in some shape.
“She came up with a new gamble that really has your sister going. Safe to say she’s giving her another chance. I don’t expect you to believe me, but is it really a risk your willing to take? If you aren’t there… you might not see her again.”
(Y/n)’s blood froze. She didn’t want to believe this guy, in fact, she was sure he was lying, but her fear of losing Yumeko was stronger than reason. Saving Yumeko was the only thing she could think of that was truly worth gambling for…
“What is the game?” She finally asked through gritted teeth.
“Craps,” he swept his arm over the table, “A simple dice game, what do you say?”
“I want to test the dice.”
Jun exhaled though his nose, “Not a gambler, huh? You sure seem to know what to look for.”
“When you grow up in the world that I have, you can’t help but pick up a thing or two.” (Y/n) sat down at the opposite side of the table, she could feel her heartbeat picking up like it would at the starting line of a race, or before reading a speech in class. She hated the feeling. She hated how her body loved the feeling. The excitement of doing something that felt totally crazy.
Despite not remembering her mother very well, she was definitely her daughter. That blood flowed through her veins as it did with Yumeko and Souko. A red glow briefly reflected off of her eyes.
“Are we doing this, or not?”
All of Jun’s little tricks were exposed round after round, but even if (Y/n) had let them slide, she was rolling perfectly every time, a skill she had picked up by merely watching Souko practice as a toddler, just a baby even. If she wasn’t so dead set against gambling, she could probably be making millions of yen a week. Her playing style reminded Jun more of Mary, but every once in awhile, she’d make an absolutely insane call that could only be something a Jabami would ever think to do.
It didn’t take long before all of the money the student council had leant him was on the other side of the table and with it, his dreams of freeing himself from his house pet chains. Now he was another four million yen in the hole.
“No… you’re just a snot-nosed middle schooler!” He hissed, pounding his fists against the table, making the dice and chips clink together. “I was supposed to win.”
“Idiot.” (Y/n) smirked, the red gleam appeared in her eyes once more, “Don’t you know nothing is guaranteed in gambling, nothing but disappointment for someone anyway.” She got up from her chair, not even caring to take her winnings with her. “A pity a had to lose my no gambling streak because of you. You weren’t even a challenge.”
She walked over to the door, pleased to see it was already opening in anticipation of her approach. She was a little surprised to see it was Sayaka who opened the door, however. She was even more surprised when Sayaka pulled her forward and a zapping noise met her ears, followed by a heavy object hitting the ground. She turned to see Jun curled up on the floor and saw the taser in Sayaka’s hand. He must have been coming up to attack her for humiliating him so badly.
“You never learn, do you, Kiwatari?” Sayaka tisked, “Lose with dignity for once.”
“Thank you for the show, Jabami (Y/n).” Kirari rounded the corner seconds later. She must have been watching from the other side of the glass. Suddenly this impromptu gamble was making a lot more sense. Jun didn’t seem smart enough to come up with a scheme like this himself.
“I should have paired you up with someone interesting, but I wanted to see what I was working with first. You did not disappoint. We will have to do something like this again soon.”
“No way,” (Y/n) could already feel herself coming down from the brief high of gambling a upperclassman into submission, “I’m not going to let you catch me in a position like this again. No way in hell! Yumeko isn’t even in trouble, is she?”
Kirari smiled, “No, she’s not. However, I’m sure I could make an offer or two you simply would not be able to refuse. Whether it’s to forbid your sister from gambling in this school again, ending the house pet system, dethroning me as student council president, or even as the head of the Bami clan, I’m sure we could work something out. I think it would be really exciting for us to gamble one day.”
(Y/n) hated the shiver of excitement that ran up her spine. There were a couple of options in that short list she wouldn’t mind seeing to fruition, yet she shook her head and bumped into Kirari as she passed her.
“Just stay away from me!”
“I’ll be seeing you around, (Y/n). Have a good rest of your day.” Kirari waved, watching (Y/n) stomp away with amusement.
***
“Oh, (Y/n)?” Yumeko was surprised that after days of the cold shoulder, (Y/n) had sought her out for a hug, but she was very happy for the suprise affection to say the least and instantly returned the embrace. “You’re being so sweet to me! What brought this on, I wonder?”
“Don’t gamble with Ikishima ever again, got it?” (Y/n) ordered, “And always make sure you have your phone on you so I can ask you what you’re up to, okay?”
“Okay, okay!” Yumeko giggled, “You don’t have to worry. That person you just mentioned is dead to me anyway.”
A strangled moan of Yumeko’s name could be heard in the distance, but no one acknowledged it.
“Hey,” Yumeko’s eyes lit up, “let’s go do something fun this weekend. Just you and me, anything you want, okay?”
A small smile worked its way onto (Y/n)’s lips and she nodded, hugging her sister tighter.
“Yeah!”

You're Beary Cute
Paring: Gaz x Reader (Gender neutral- No use of pronouns for reader)
Summary: Reader has a "little" crush on Gaz and finds a way to tell him without actually telling him. Valentines themed (I know its way late for Valentines day but shushhhhh enjoy the oneshot)
Wordcount: 1,669
Warnings: none- super fluffy                                             There are switches in focus from Reader to Gaz but it's still second person narration stuff (Tilde symbol  ~ indicating the switch)
Tumblr media
As the new rookie to the 141 you where met with both warm welcome, Gaz overjoyed at not being the baby of the group anymore and Soap excited to have someone who wasn't aware of the slightly dangerous pranks he liked to pull, and just simple welcomes, Ghost not wanting to get to close (you wore him down eventually) and Price afraid to drag another "kid" in the world of the 141. After several months of being with the unit the novelty began to fade away, although with Soap gaining a partner in crime it never fully fizzled out.
Proving that you could pull you weight in the team, you gained respect from Ghost and got access to the inner circle. Knowing the others secrets meant that you had to return a few in trade, which unfortunately for you where all more embarrassing than anything else. One late night at a bar after you had a few to many, the team realized you weren't lying about the failed dog walker business you had as a teenager that resulted in you falling into a fountain after tripping on a leash. Or how you got banned from the Zoo after teaching the chimpanzees a vulgar hand sign. Or the accidental Big Foot sighting that got on the news in your home town. (It had just been you covered in mud after a camping trip that had gone wrong.)
The one secret you wished to keep, that was actually so painfully obvious to everyone except Soap, was your crush on Gaz. Price was the first to figure it out early on as you attempted to save yourself after turning red and stuttering while Gaz was helping you study flight manuals. Ghost later caught you "zoning out" in Gaz's direction during a collective gym workout session, chuckling at your poor excuse, he agreed not to say anything. Gaz, oblivious as ever, never seemed to notice or believe the gentle teases from the others.
Currently, while on down time after a mission, you where ranting to Price in his office about the situation after he brought up the approaching holiday. You softly kick the door closed as you set down the box of files you helped him carry in, "I've tried EVERYTHING-"
"Except confessing."
"Movie night failed-"
"I thought you host one like every week?"
"Well yea, but it was meant to be a soft entry confession thing but Soap CRASHED IT!"
You yelled out the last part in exasperation, flopping down on the small sofa Price kept in the room. The door creaked open, "Crashed what?", Soap asked sticking his head in. Price looked up from the papers and huffed, slight annoyance was written all over his face. You go to shove Soap's face out of the doorway, "Nothing! Go away it's dad advice time".
He held up a file with a smirk on his face, "Oh my bad, I guess I'll have to do paper work later." Turning and leaving the door wide open just to piss you off, Soap sauntered away.
"When did I become- you know what I don't want to know..." Price muttered getting up from his desk and walking out into the common area. Following him out you continued talking,  "Even if I do say something, what then? like I can't go anywhere if it all goes wrong, maybe I can transfer or something, going MIA would be even better- Hey what?" Stopping midway through as Price turned around and directly walked back into his office again.
"You'll figure it out, you're smart." He stated with a smile, before closing the door in your face.
. . .
Opening the door to leave for his morning run, Gaz looks down at the objects sitting in front of the entry, a single rose and a giant Ferrero Rocher. Looking around he saw that everyone else also had gifts with a rose in front of their doors, Soap had Biscoff chocolate bar, Ghost had a chili chocolate, Price had a coffee chocolate, and you had a bag of gummy worms. Picking his up, he felt a small lump on the underside of the base, flipping it over he saw that there was a hidden pocket containing a note of a single word: Tank.
A smile formed on his face as a blip of realization hit, every morning for his run he passes by the old retired tank south of the base. Going to put up the rose and the chocolate, he shoved the note in his pocket and left for his jog.
Reaching his destination faster than usual, Gaz stopped to take a breath squatting by the old machine. Something glinting in the low light of the sun rise caught his attention, walking over to the edge of the tank, hanging from the main gun was a small silver key with another note: Roof
~
Preparing for room checks was a boring but slightly cathartic part of your routine, making sure that everything was clean and organized kept your space peaceful in comparison to the chaos of the missions the unit was sent on. Moving to open the door to sweep, you slipped on something causing you to nearly miss slamming your head on the door nob and landing right on your ass. Checking the bottom of your boot, you saw a heart cut out of construction paper with words scribbled on the front.
 Warehouse #34  1800 hrs.
~
Entering the common area, Gaz sees most of the unit up and sitting around the table. Soap was already eating his chocolate bar while Price and Ghost where drinking from mugs. "What you'd get?" Price asked watching Gaz grab a bottle of water from the fridge. "Just a chocolate." He answered, not noticing the glance between Price and Ghost, as he walked over to the door that lead to the roof.  "Finally gonna jump?" Ghost called out as Gaz climb the stairs, Gaz not bothering to respond in the hurry to find the next note.
Pushed against the corner of the rail guard, was a black storage box padlocked with a lock and chain. Pulling out the key, Gaz opened it to find a package wrapped completely in duct tape and wires. Barley touching a wire caused a small beep altering him to a timer stuck under the lid. The timer began counting down from 10 seconds, scrambling to figure out the "bomb" Gaz stepped back as the box went off. A mini cloud of glitter exploded within the box, picking up the package he unwraps it. The box was folded in plastic wrap so the duct tape wouldn't ruin the cardboard box, holding it with a smile Gaz looked down at the Lego orchid botanical set.
~
"Whatcha thinking about?" Soap sat down on the table next to you, his voice cutting through the haze you where in. "Nothing, just tired." You responded sitting up, hand in your pocket holding on to the note. You had been sitting there, staring at the clock counting down the minutes until six o'clock.
Finally finding an excuse to leave you get up, "Shit, I forgot to refill my med pack.". You walk over to your room and grab a bag. "It's probably to late for the nurse's station, they've all gone home by now." Soap responded, too distracted by his phone to give to much notice.
You ran out the door, calling out behind you, "I'll just go check the warehouse, better be safe than sorry." Quickly jogging to the building, you paused before entering.
What if it was it wasn't what you had wanted?
Walking in, you see a table in the middle of the room sitting on the table was a massive bouquet of flowers and a teddy bear holding a paper heart: Build me?
A clang from the side of the building makes you turn to the noise, "Some bloody idiot-" Gaz muttered tripping over a toolbox someone had left out. "Hey, sorry I tried to get here, Price was going on about incident reports for so long and I didn't want to be rude, anyways-" He stops rambling as you pick up the bear.
"You uh mentioned wanting a build a bear date one time, so I thought-" He was nervously picking at his fingers, occasionally looking between you and the bear.
"Gaz come here-" You chuckle, holding your arms out to him. He smiles and completes the hug, "So I take it you like the gift?"
"I love it, did you get mine?"
"yea, did you make the glitter bomb yourself?"
"I asked Soap to teach me a while back, sorry there wasn't more puzzles, I only had so much time in between missions and -" This time it was his turn to shut you up from your anxious ramblings, "It was perfect, although soap could have taught you a little better"
"Yea, lets blame him for that"
You could feel his movements as he laughed, still holding onto you he leans in before kissing you, "So me, you, build-a-bear Thursday?" You nod in response pulling him to you, occasionally breaking away to breath and smile as he playfully huffed in anger when you broke the kiss.
Attempting to back away (You could only move so far as Gaz wouldn't let you out of arms reach still holding on to you) You look at him, jokingly scolding him for the earlier incident he caused, "you know that stupid ass- I mean sweet note you slipped under the door gave me the biggest bruise on my ass.".
"oh really it did?" Gaz laughed again, a mischievous grin growing on his face as his hands snaked down to the injured area.  "Maybe I can help with that."
"You sure can."
I needed to write something cute after the angsty Price X Reader fic lmao
It was going to be an x male reader but when writing it there was no pronouns or descriptions needed for reader, so might as well make it for everyone.
Follow for more X reader stuff- requests are open

Witches AU (A Halstead Brothers + Halstead Sister Imagine)
A/N: I'm back! Sorry, it took so long for an update. I moved out of state for grad school a few months ago and I'm working 30-35 hours/wk on top of a full graduate-level course load. Because of this, this imagine is not proofread because I wanted to get this out to you guys. (I also wanted to post this before Halloween, but I had a ton of exams, so I'm just getting it up now.)
Anyway, enjoy!
Math has always sucked. It's confusing and why do you even have to know all of this stuff?
Wasn't this stuff just made up thousands of years ago? So why do I even need to know it? Isn't it all fake anyway. Like, maybe it's not even real and we're just learning stupid shit to learn stupid shit, you thought to yourself as you stared at your math test in front of you.
You looked around the room. You knew you weren't supposed to do this, but you muttered a transference spell under your breath to transfer the information from deep inside your brain where you couldn't find it onto the paper.
Hailey Upton was watching from her teacher's desk out of the corner of her eye, obscured by a book so her students wouldn't know that she was watching.
She knew a witch when she saw one.
***
Will might call his little brother, Jay, overprotective, but at the moment, Jay didn't care. His witch's mark burned, alerting him that either you or Will had just used magic.
Typically, this didn't happen, but there was a potion one could make so that one knew when another person used magic. Jay knew his mom used this on him and Will when they were younger even though she had never told them.
The most important ingredient in this potion was blood from the person who you wanted to know was using magic. This had been easy enough for Jay to come by. All he did was break open your razor, take out a blade, then quickly dip it in the mixture.
Jay had shuddered to think about where the razor had been when he took the potion like a shot a few minutes later. Then, he quickly brushed his teeth to rid himself of the taste of the potion.
Jay glanced at the clock.
You were in math class right now. He knew this because whenever he needed to text you, he made sure to do so during your lunch period, and a lot of times you'd text him back and say something along the lines of gotta go. Math class with a crying emoji.
And, you had been telling him for the past few days how you had a math test.
The man was both a witch and a police detective.
He easily put the pieces together: you used magic to cheat on a math test.
You broke the rules.
Do not use magic in your profession unless it is for the greater good.
Since your profession was currently a student and there was nothing at school that would really be for the greater good, Jay and Will had discussed it and had deemed that you weren't allowed to use magic at school.
Jay made a mental note to prepare a truth serum for you to drink when you got home from school.
***
"Jay, she's a kid," Will said when Jay called him later that day when he was on his way home from work.
"Yeah, and? Mom and Dad took our magic from us when we tried to throw a basketball game in our favor."
"Yeah because we were basically trying to injure the other team."
"Fair point. But, if we let her get away with it now, she'll think she can get away with it all the time and next thing you know, she's cheating on her SATs."
"Fine. Just give it back to her by the end of Halloween."
"Will, I'm not that stupid. I'll make sure she gets them back by then. Don't want her losing her powers forever."
The rule was, and always has been, if a witch loses their powers and still doesn't have them on the night of Sanheim, the night when the spirit world and mortal worlds collide--which is now called Halloween--they would lose their powers forever.
Will and Jay lived in fear whenever they did something wrong during the month of October that their parents would take their powers from them, but luckily, they never did anything that stupid...at least, not during the month of October. November and December, now those months were different stories.
"Might make her wait until the last minute until she gets them back, though," Jay said.
"Just, make it at least an hour before midnight. We don't need any issues."
"Yeah, yeah. And, before you mention it, yes, I'm giving her truth serum when she gets home in case I'm wrong."
"Good. I'll be expecting a phone call from her."
"Why?"
"We both know she calls me when she's pissed at you," Will said. "And then she'll want me to call you and tell you to give her her powers back. Or, she'll beg me to override your spell."
"Please don't give in, Will. I know how you get."
Will rolled his eyes. "I won't. Unless you start cutting it close, then I might have to. But, we both know how hard eye of newt is to get these days, so please save me the money."
"Don't worry. Everything will be fine. But, I gotta go. I have a truth serum to make."
"She's gonna know what you're making the minute she walks into the house. That one smells terrible."
"Oh, trust me, I know.
***
When you saw Jay's truck in the parking lot of your apartment building, you thought nothing of it; you just thought he and his team had finished with a case early.
But, when you walked in, you gagged and dry-heaved.
"Oh my god," you groaned and plugged your nose. "Jay, what are you cooking? It smells like burnt, day-old, rotten fish."
Jay walked out of his room with a clothespin pinching his nose closed.
"I'm giving you one chance to come clean or else you get to taste it."
"Come clean about what?" you asked while you set down your backpack so that you'd have something to do with your hands.
"Cut the crap, Y/N. You have one chance to tell me why my witch's mark burned when you were in math class today or else you get to taste the truth serum. And, just a heads up, the taste is worse than the smell and the aftertaste is even worse. And it's slimy."
"You charmed my magic?" you asked.
"Was that a confession?"
"No!"
Jay walked further into the kitchen and opened a drawer that contained silverware. He pulled out a spoon and then made his way to the pot that was bubbling on the stove. "Last chance, kid."
"You wouldn't."
"Try me." He stuck the spoon in the potion and dished some out.
You unplugged your nose and smelled. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad. And then, you dry-heaved and started to feel the snack you ate in your second to last class churn in your stomach.
"Fine! I used magic to help me with one problem on my math test, happy?"
"Very." Then, he snapped his fingers and the pot disappeared, taking the smell with it. Then, he snapped again, but this time, he did so with both hands and made a gesture with his arms from you to him.
You hoped he was taking the nausea from your body.
You swore you could still it, though, so you walked over and opened the pumpkin spice candle that sat on the kitchen counter. Maybe he just wanted you to admit that you were guilty and all of this would blow over...it wasn't like Jay, but, he had gotten out of work earlier than usual, so maybe he was in a good mood.
You pointed your pointer finger at the candle and muttered the spell.
Nothing happened.
"Yeah, you're gonna need this," Jay said and then made a lighter appear on the counter with a snap of his fingers. "Your finger's gonna be out of commission for a while."
"What do you..." Then, your eyes widened and your jaw dropped. Will always told you stories of when Mom and Dad took his and Jay's magic away when they used it when they weren't supposed to. "You didn't!"
"Don't cheat on your math test."
"Jay! It was one question! And, I just couldn't remember the formula! I didn't even use it for the problem! Just the formula! You gotta believe me! I promise!"
Jay muttered something under his breath and then stared right at you, just above your head.
Unbeknownst to you, he had made a puff of smoke pop up above you, which said truth or lie...and you were telling the truth. Despite this, Jay wasn't going back now. He had to teach you a lesson. And, he'd make sure to give you your powers back by Halloween.
"Thank you for telling me the truth," he told you. "But, you have to understand, that magic is a slippery slope. You can't just use it for your own gain all the time. Mom always said that magic is for the greater good, and what you did today was selfish--"
"But--"
"No buts. You'll get your magic back when I say you can have it back."
"But Sanheim's in two weeks! If I don't get my powers back by then, I'll be mortal! Please, Jay! Give them back!"
"No can do, kid. You made your bed, now you have to lie in it."
"I'm calling Will!"
"We already talked about this, so good luck."
You huffed and marched off towards your room.
"I hate you!"
"If you want your powers back by Sanheim, I'd shut up if I were you! And, make sure you wake up earlier tomorrow to pack your lunch for school because your powers can't do it for you!"
You threw your head back and groaned. If you had your powers, you'd seriously hex your brother right now.
***
"Y/N, can I talk to you for a minute?" Miss Upton asked at the end of your math class the next day.
Oh no. Jay called her. Now you were in trouble at home and at school.
"Sure," you answered.
Once all the students left, she closed the door and then gestured for you to sit in the chair across from her desk.
You were in deep shit now.
"Did you cheat on the test yesterday?"
"I--" You were about to tell her that you didn't, but you knew lying would just make it worse. It was better for you to just come clean. You hung your head. "Yes," you admitted reluctantly. "But, it was only the volume formula for a cylinder! I didn't use it for any number or anything! I just couldn't remember the formula."
Miss Upton nodded. "I see." She'd dealt with kids cheating before, so she knew that if a kid admitted to it, they were usually telling the truth about the cheating. They either doubled down on their lie or told the truth; there was no in-between. "Tell you what, since this is the first time this has happened and you only used it in the formula, I won't tell the principal, and I'll just adjust your grade and take off the points for that problem as if it were incorrect."
You didn't know what to say; you thought for sure that this was going to go on your record the second you admitted to cheating. So, all you could feel was gratitude. "Thank you. It won't happen again, I swear!"
"I wouldn't get too far ahead of yourself," Miss Upton warned. "I do need to have a conversation with your parents about this."
"My um, my guardian," you told her. "It's my brother who's in charge of me. My, um, my parents both passed."
"Y/N, I'm so sorry."
You nodded. "Thank you."
There was a lull in the conversation as Hailey processed what you had just said. She knew that your brother signed permission slips and all that for you, but she thought that was just because your parents were busy working. But, she knew she needed to continue this conversation.
"I'll need to have a conversation with your brother, then. I'll make the phone call during lunch. I'd like you to be present for the meeting."
"Okay. He already knows."
Hailey furrowed her eyebrows. Typically kids wouldn't come clean about this to their parents. But, she thought you were a witch; she just wanted to see what you'd say next.
"You told him?"
You shrugged. "Guilty conscience, I guess."
"I see." She paused. "Well, that was everything about the test. One more thing."
"Yeah?" You knew geometry wasn't your best class, but you didn't think there was anything else in this class that warranted your attention, much less would be brought to Miss Upton's attention.
"Agam ense?"
Your eyes widened, but you quickly recovered. She did not just ask you that.
Agam ense.
When flipped from its backward state, was Esne maga.
Are you a witch? in Latin.
No way Jay's giving you your powers back now.
***
What Jay did not expect to be getting was a frantic phone call from you at 10:06 in the morning.
"I gotta take this. It's Y/N." He told his team. Then, he walked into the break room, which was soundproof.
"Why are you calling me? Aren't you supposed to be in class?" He had already taken your powers, he really didn't know how normal adults disciplined their kids. Maybe take her phone? No, that would be a safety issue. So, what was he supposed to—"
"Miss Upton knows," you said.
"Knows what? That you cheated?" Jay asked. He hadn't even thought about telling your teacher due to the fact that he had been absolutely livid with you yesterday. Maybe he should've done that.
"Yes, but she knows that I'm..." you trailed off. Then, you whispered. "She knows I'm a witch."
Jay took a deep breath to avoid losing his shit. They were gonna take you from him and put you in a mental hospital. He'd have to get a lawyer ASAP. So, all he could manage was, "How?"
"She's one two. She even spoke bruja to me. That's how she asked."
"Did she show you her mark?" Jay asked.
"No. But she erased the board by pointing her finger at the board and making the eraser erase. I didn't believe her, so I told her my water bottle was empty, because it was, and with a snap of her fingers, it was full again."
"Holy shit," Jay muttered.
"I'm telling you in case she brings it up tonight when you have to meet her about me cheating. She's gonna give you a call in an hour during lunch."
"Okay. Wow, okay. I expected something bad, but not something like this."
You stayed quiet, waiting for Jay to lose his shit for being so careless. But, instead, you just got silence. "So, you're not mad?"
"If it was a mortal who caught you, then I'd be mad. But, a witch can find their own kind. So, in this case, I'm not mad. Plus, I already took your magic. I don't know if there's anything else I could really do."
"So, I'll get my magic back by Sanheim?" You asked hopefully.
"We'll see. Now, get to class, kid."
Once he hung up, he sighed. He was about to leave the break room and get back to working on his current case, but then he remembered that he needed to call Will to tell him about the latest development in your cheating and powers saga. Sometimes, he wished he were mortal. But then, he remembered he didn't have to wait for the coffee to brew in the morning because it was done with a snap of his fingers...literally.
***
"What did Will say?" Jay asked when he walked into school that afternoon, half an hour after school had been let out for the day. He had told his team he had to talk to your teacher, and, since the case was close to being closed, they let him leave early.
"Left me a voice memo. Almost made me go deaf because I had my headphones in when I played it," you answered.
Jay winced. "That bad, huh?"
"I'll let you listen to it when we get home."
"Nah. Don't think I need to. I called him after you called me and he basically told me what he was going to say to you...thought he would've cooled off between then and talking to you, though."
"Definitely not. He even mentioned experimentation, the pyres, hangings—"
"Yup. He told me that's what hew was going to tell you. Definitely didn't cool off. Maybe he needs to take a walk before recording those."
You agreed, then took a deep breath. "Let's get this over with." Then, you led the way to Miss Upton's classroom.
"Mr. Halstead, Y/N, please, take a seat," Miss Upton said and gestured to the two chairs that she had placed in front of her desk.
"Please, call me, Jay," Jay said when he took a seat. "I'm too young to be addressed as Mr. Halstead."
"In that case, call me Hailey," Miss Upton said.
"Alright, Hailey, where would you like to start?"
Hailey opened a drawer of her desk and pulled out a few pieces of paper, which were stapled together. She laid it out in front of her and you could see that it was the test that you had taken yesterday. "So, Y/N told me that she had a guilty conscience so she came clean to you yesterday that she cheated." She flipped to a page of the test. She only cheated to get the formula for this problem. And, since this is her first time being in any sort of trouble, I've explained to her that I'm only going to take off the points for the problems where this formula was used and I'm going to refrain from telling the principal."
"Yes, she told me," Jay confirmed. "And, I can promise you, that it will not happen again."
"I'd hope not. I just want to go over next steps with you if this were to occur again..."
You zoned out at this part because you knew this wasn't going to happen again, not after Jay took your powers away. Now, if you had gotten away with it, then this might be a different story. But man, that consequence really made you rethink your actions.
"Just remember, Sanheim," Miss Upton said.
The mention of the ancient festival that Halloween is based off of made you refocus.
What about Sanheim?
"I know. I won't be too hard on her."
You assumed the two had quickly discussed that Jay had taken your powers...or, Jay hadn't mentioned a single thing and Hailey had just mentioned that as a reminder. Maybe she had been rebellious during her teen years and had a scare just like you had.
Jay's phone buzzed. "That's probably work," he said. "Is this all? If not, we can continue this conversation later. Maybe, over coffee?"
Your jaw almost dropped, but you refrained from doing that. You knew Jay was a flirt, but this was a whole new level.
"That was all. And, coffee would be nice. But, let's continue this later. I have other tests to grade."
She shot you a wink, and you were grateful she understood that you were weirded out by this whole interaction.
Then, the two of you began to walk out of the classroom, but not before Jay snapped his fingers.
He paused a second and you continued to walk out of the classroom. Obviously that was something for Miss Upton.
"I'll see you then," she said.
And then Jay came out in the hallway.
"What did you do?" you asked.
"Just had a sticky note pop up with a time and a coffee shop. We're meeting on Friday before school."
Then, once you were safely out of the building and into the parking lot where no one would hear you, you said, "Please don't date my teacher...at least wait until I get my powers back. Or, wait, maybe date her. It might get my grades up."
Jay rolled his eyes. "I'll do what I want, thank you very much. Plus, she's a witch, so if anything happens, I don't have to have that conversation."
"Always easier dating a witch than explaining things to someone. How do you think the Salem witch trials started?"
"Exactly. Now, I gotta get back to work. See you later."
"See you. Can I have my--"
"No."
"You don't even know what I was going to say!"
"You were going to ask for your powers back. It hasn't even been 24 hours. No."
You walked away, but not without muttering, "I hoped because you're going on a date you might be in a good mood. Guess not."
"I heard that!"
***
10 days later, October 28
It was 4 days until November 1. You had 3 days, 6 hours, and 37 minutes to get your powers back before they were gone for good. Jay was in a good mood after his not one, but two dates with Miss Upton, and hadn't worked any crazy cases at work. At least, he hadn't worked any that you knew of anyway.
Also, for the past two days, you had followed Will's advice: Maybe stop asking and Jay will give them back.
You were skeptical about this advice, but you figured it was worth a shot. But, your patience was wearing thin.
He still hasn't given them back! you texted Will.
And he's still at work and you still have 3 days! he answered.
You sighed and flopped down on the couch. He'd give them back...right?
***
October 31
It was currently Halloween on a Saturday night. While all of your friends were out (underage) drinking, you were sitting at home, trying to focus on watching Hocus Pocus (even though it was definitely not an accurate portrayal of witches), and every five minutes you were trying to move something or get another glass of apple cider from the kitchen by using a spell. But, nothing worked.
You looked at the clock on your phone as the credits to the movie began to roll. It had just hit 11pm.
"How's it feel?" Jay asked.
"What?" you asked. You were too focused on how the hell you were going to live as a mortal. Because, if Jay hadn't given you your powers back yet, you'd never get them back.
"Your powers. I just transferred them back to you."
"No, you didn't. I didn't feel anything."
Jay furrowed his eyebrows. "Yes, I did."
You tried to fold the blanket by using a spell.
Nothing.
"Maybe I have to say it out loud instead of whispering."
He recited the spell which translated to: Now that she has learned to use her powers for good and not for selfish deeds, give her back her powers that she needs.
"Try something now."
You tried the simplest spell, a spell to levitate anything in front of you.
Nothing.
All your rage came flying out at once.
"I. Hate. You!" you screamed at the top of your lungs. "I won't get my powers back because you just had to prove a point and wait until the last fucking minute! Fuck!"
"Y/N, I'm sorry! They should be back, it's not midnight yet!"
"Well, they aren't back! I hate you!"
Then, you grabbed your keys and slipped on your tennis shoes, not caring that you were just in sweatpants and a hoodie despite it beginning to snow.
Normally, Jay would yell at you to come back, but he had more pressing matters to attend to.
He quickly pulled out his phone and walked into his room. After dialing Will's number and putting the phone on speaker, he opened his safe and then took out the false bottom where he kept the family's spellbook that had been passed down for generations.
"Hello?"
"Will I fucked up!"
Will looked at the time on his phone and his heart dropped. "You didn't read the fine print, did you?"
"What fine print? There's no fine print!" He flipped to the page where the spell was. "All the letters are normal sized!" He began to read the spell over the spell over the phone. "If not given back by the person who took these powers when Sanheim turns to the first of November under the dark of Boston's sky, then this witch will remain powerless forever."
"Boston, Jay! What time is it in Boston?"
"What are you talking about? It's--" And then it dawned on him: Boston was one hour ahead of Chicago; It was already November first there. "Shit."
"Keep looking through the spellbook," Will urged. "I'm on my way over. There is no way Y/N's losing her powers over a technicality."
***
You sat in the dark of the night, using your phone as the only light to look at your mom's gravestone. If she were here, this never would have happened. She would have given you your powers back earlier. And now, you were mortal. You could die of anything. And, without powers and your parents, was life even worth living at all?
***
"There has to be something in here," Jay muttered as he flipped through the spellbook from front to back once more.
Then, a knock sounded. "It's me!" Will yelled.
"Come in!" Jay yelled back.
The minute he heard the door open and close, he grabbed the spellbook and brought it out to the kitchen table.
"Last page. Everyone's notes," Will ordered.
"I already looked there!"
"Well look again!" Will ordered. He had half a mind to rip the book off the table and throw it at Jay's head, but he decided not to...but only because he didn't want to rip any pages and ruin the spellbook.
The two poured over the book for ten minutes and were about to flip the page when Will stopped them.
"Remember, blood is stronger than any spell," he read.
"Yeah, so? Family's stronger than magic."
"What if Mom meant blood, like actual blood."
Jay's eyes widened. "You're a fucking genius!"
Then, he flipped back to the page where the original spell was while Will grabbed a knife from the kitchen.
"You cast the spell, so it's all you," Will said.
Jay took the knife from Will and then cut his finger just enough that blood started to pool. Then, he held his finger over the page.
One drop...Two drops...Three drops.
The page turned black and white lettering began to materialize on the page.
"If ye be in dire need of thy powers," Jay began to read, "like this spell, thou shalt need three witches, one must be a descendent of those who were imprisoned for their crimes and could have perished in the pyres, by hanging, or drowning."
"Great," Will said. "So we need three witches and one has to be a direct descendent from either England or Salem."
"Hailey," Jay muttered.
"What?"
"Hailey Upton, Y/N's teacher. We went on a few dates, she's a witch, she mentioned she grew up out east!"
"Whoa, whoa, whoa! You're dating Y/N's teacher? Since when?" Will asked while Jay ran to his room and grabbed his phone.
"I wouldn't call it dating. We've only gone on two dates. I told Y/N not to tell you or else she wouldn't get her powers back."
"And now she might not even get them back! I'm calling Y/N to tell her to come home, you call Hailey. You sure as hell better hope that you're right about where she's from."
***
"A technicality!" you yelled when you walked inside your and Jay's apartment after getting that phone call from Will. "I lost my powers because of a fucking technicality?"
"Take a deep breath." You recognized that voice. But, why...
"Miss Upton?" you asked.
"We need three witches to break the spell and one has to be from Salem," Jay said.
"Or, a descendent of those who came from Salem. Technically, I lived in Boston. Then I moved here when I was twelve," Hailey said.
"Okay, so you guys can reverse it?" you asked. You really didn't care about the semantics right now.
"We think so," Will said.
Then, he grabbed one of Jay's hands and Jay took his other hand to grab Hailey's.
"Ready?" Jay asked.
"Yes," Hailey answered and Will nodded.
The three of them closed their eyes and recited the spell.
The second they were finished, you could feel the blood moving in your veins, almost like there were bubbles. Your fingertips glowed for five seconds after that. And then, you felt normal again.
"Did it work?" Jay asked.
"I don't know, it felt weird, but I don't know."
At this point, you were scared to try any magic because what if you just imagined those feelings? what if it was just your eyes playing tricks on you?
"Try a spell," Will urged.
You pointed your finger at the table and focused on thinking about an Oreo milkshake. And then, one appeared!
"They're back! They're back!" you yelled and grabbed the milkshake. Then you took one sip. But then, you remembered something. "Thank you, Miss Upton! You're the best teacher ever! I'm sorry I cheated and I'll never do it again! I promise!"
Miss Upton smiled. "I know you won't."
"I think," Will began, "this calls for celebratory IHOP."
"Yes!"
"I'm down," Jay said.
"Not for you, Jay. This is only for me, Y/N, and Hailey if she wants to come. You're the one who got us into this mess in the first place."
Jay rolled his eyes, but deep down, he knew he deserved it.
"I can make some really good pancakes," Hailey offered.
You might have just been in high school, but you knew where this was going.
"C'mon, Will, let's go," you said and pulled him out the door while drinking your milkshake.
"I don't have a tail or anything, do I?" Jay asked when you and Will had left.
Hailey laughed. "No, you don't."
"Good, because I'm sure those two are going to hex me one way or another. That's probably what they're talking about right now."
Hailey laughed. "I'm not saying you deserved it..."
Jay cocked his head to the side. "Yes, you are." He took a step closer. "Did I ever tell you how pretty you are?"
Hailey shook her head. "Is this your way of flirting?"
"Depends. Is it working?"
"Maybe," Hailey smiled. Then, the two began leaning in. Hailey could almost feel Jay's lips on hers when she noticed something and pulled back. "Why does your breath smell like toad?"
Jay threw his head back and groaned. "Will! Y/N!"
"I'm sure we can find a spell to fix that, c'mon," Hailey said.
Then, she grabbed his hand and pulled him closer to the kitchen table and their two spellbooks, which would eventually turn into one big one as the years passed and they fell deeper and deeper in love.

Interestingly, we actually were girls together... When I met Jo I was 18 years and 11 months old, and had just emerged from my house for the first time in 3 months— straight to school in New York. We were shockingly vulnerable in a really simple 101 Writing class. We spent much of our time in cafes and academic buildings dissecting and chipping away at our Didion imitations until we pretended to 'find' some sort of voice at the end of the semester (how timely!). She towered above me, and coaxed a part of me I thought was shut away for good in a house in Oklahoma City. I felt really comfortable. She celebrated my birthday with me after knowing me for a week. We'd speed through SoHo, two of my strides to one of hers, and I always thought she looked cool with a cigarette in hand though it wasn't anything I was smoking at the time. Her suitcase remained empty with 20 minutes till departure, and we barely missed a bus down to DC. She got us new tickets and against her stature leaned all the way down onto my shoulder for the 5-hour ride, and we split at Union Station. She went off to visit a friend at some DC school and I was seeing family. We reconnected at the end of the week, where those cheap buses meet up, and went back home to New York.
When we were sent home, we sent letters across the Midwest in riveting exchanges between Oklahoma and Illinois. We scrawled bits of forgotten writing projects onto paper and wrote to each other often. Radio silence for a while, and we were back nine months later. She was living with her best friend at the time. It wasn't me. Their sublease was really gorgeous. The energy was funny. They stopped being friends after the lease ran out. I last saw her on my 21st birthday in Tompkins with a slice of cheesecake. Late as usual.
Two years of radio silence. I texted her for some reason in April 2023 and we chatted briefly. Nothing again. She's always been in New York, though. I knew her face really well. I superimposed it onto strangers in the crowd. I knew she was here, somewhere.
That summer I felt another friendship dying. I went home exhausted and sweaty and annoyed. No seats on the subway but a space near a familiar face. I was glad she recognized me. I was afraid she wouldn't. She was to transfer at one stop. I told her I'd be on the train for another hour getting to the outer reaches of Queens. "Safe travels," and I let the subway car population dwindle before weeping. Nothing again. Maybe I was afraid to reach out myself because I didn't have anything to say (<- symptom of being frozen by anxiety for 2 years).
And then something this past week. I waited 12 minutes to reply. I missed the person I used to be so severely and was deadly curious about her. I was embarrassed about our run-in on the train. I sweat so badly I had pit stains on a plain, over-sized shirt (symbolism) and she was in business casual workwear. It felt awfully on-the-nose about my perception of my own life and disappointment in myself. I didn't text her because I didn't want to think about it. But she texted me. Our old writing professor from that very class where we met mentioned me, thus prompting the text. She told me on the phone that she thinks often about a thing I used to say (an Andrea original?!) about Jaywalking with the new mothers because no car would run over a baby in a stroller (😭). A saying which attaches a smile to every crosswalk. And remember she's been in New York this entire time. Couldn't help but cry about it. She regaled me on everything. Seems we've been lonely the same past 6 months. I wish we had each other then. I wish she could've seen the joyful moments. I actually don't know if you'd like her, and I think Winnie has a thing about Jo 'cause she unfollowed her on IG a while back (we were all in that same writing class and we are all deeply unwell lmfao⚠️) but I do consider her a great influence on the Andrea you ended up meeting two years ago, if that's worth something at all. At the very least it'd be funny? I'll make it happen. She's in Bushwick now actually.
Anyway everything's a missed bus to DC and every good thing in life is being that uncomfortable shoulder to lean down and cry on. Likewise, the security I felt knowing she could always casually pick things back up and move forward is something that could pull me out of the tar pit. We have suffered apart and alone long enough.

Random conflicting Adachi details in the Golden anime
In the post about "Adachi was totally stalking Mayumi", I mentioned:
I’m aware that the Persona 4 Golden anime has its own version of this where Adachi is actually legitimately seriously assigned to go babysit Mayumi. But that’s just the anime adaptation’s take on Adachi, and in the commentary track for episode 7, the director emphasizes that this is their take and encourages you to think whatever you’d like.
So here are some other decisions that the Golden anime made that conflict with what else is known about the character.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Golden anime: Adachi is in Tokyo before coming to Inaba. They don't name Tokyo, but he's shown working at a rather distinct building when he receives his transfer order to Inaba, and the building is the real life Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department building.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Atlus: Adachi didn't live in Iwatodai, but he did used to work in the heart of the city (source: Persona Stalker Club episode 11).
I assume that the anime staff picked the Tokyo PD to make Adachi look successful before he gets booted all the way to Inaba.
I know some creators just come up with answers to fan questions, but I don't get that impression about this - Atlus had already thought about it if Adachi was talking about being sick of seeing the Moonlight Bridge. (Tho the Moonlight Bridge in Persona 3 is modeled after the real life Rainbow Bridge in Tokyo. I guess we have "Tokyo at home".) I think Iwatodai is a big enough city that Adachi would miss it when he's stuck in Inaba too. It's modeled on the very large port city of Kobe. Going from working there to working in the sticks would be a huge shift.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Golden anime: Adachi is wearing a red tie as he drives into Inaba with his transfer papers.
Atlus: Adachi's red tie was a hand-me-down from Dojima because Dojima couldn't stand seeing the shitty tie Adachi kept wearing (source: Persona Stalker Club episode 5).
The Persona Stalker Club stuff was after the anime aired, so it's not like they could have known. I also don't get the impression that this was a random answer. The person who asked this question on Stalker Club was totally on to something - why *do* these 2 dudes both wear red ties? Also, in Adachi's social link, Nanako points out that he has holes in his socks, so him wearing a threadbare tie that pissed off Dojima sounds about right lol.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Golden anime: Adachi's apartment is rather empty. Barren, even - there are no personalizations or decorations. It's also noticeably clean - part of the plot is him cleaning out his fridge, and the setting files only shows some folded clothes on the ground.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Atlus: Adachi is noted as being bad at tidying up his room (source: his P4U2 profile).
I don't think this is a "random" trivia thing that someone just wrote for his profile. In the notes accompanying his character design from the Persona 4 Design Works, Soejima talks about communicating that Adachi really was an elite in the police force through his bedhead and crooked tie. How elites have some part of them that's "off", and in Adachi's case, it's that he isn't mindful of his appearance.
Imo, what Soejima did with his character design helps give the player a visual about how his home looks without ever actually seeing it. Like the mental image I have of him is, "dude who sleeps on a futon surrounded by stacks of cup noodles and beer cans, uses a 10-in-1 product, owns 1 suit", and I thought that way before ever seeing his P4U2 profile.
Meanwhile, the Golden anime adaptation went in a different direction and used the appearance of his place as an extension of himself. His room's barren appearance and lack of personalizations reflects how Adachi doesn't have much going on in his life, and the kindness forced on him by others is something he keeps on a cold shelf before physically throwing into the trash. Hmm, it feels heavy handed when you type all of it out like that lol.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
???: Btw, the anime might make you think Adachi has a classic yellow PVC raincoat, but it's actually a yellow mods coat (source: Soejima's character design for Adachi says "mods coat"). The m51 parka that was worn by mods is made of nylon, so it's also waterproof. That said, I have no idea if the anime was trying to draw him in a pvc raincoat or a yellow mods.

And for the more serious post because I didn't wanna clutter my thoughts in one post
This is been a rough holiday and also a lonely one for the past few days since me and my sisters are trying to keep our mom away from our dad after he pulled a (thankfully not loaded) gun at her because he accused her of cheating on him. And it's not even possible because she doesn't drive or go anywhere without him and works 10 hour shifts while he sits around unemployed. She even tried to OD and it's not the first time this has happened since the last time she did was also after an argument with my dad. And it's been such an unhealthy cycle for YEARS and it's exhausting and stressful to live with that energy.
My sister is pressing charges against him for it and he got arrested and got his gun license revoked and he was found in possession of an illegal firearm. But he ultimately got bailed out by what we assume he had done himself? So me and my sisters just feel uncomfortable being back home, not to mention we have my sisters kids here who are traumatized by what he did. Meanwhile my mom got hospitalized and eventually transferred to a mental health facility. The past few days we just spent visiting her, visiting the courthouse to try and file a restraining order, and just staying in a hotel because we don't want to be around our dad.
But the justice system is such a fucking joke because we couldn't even do it at the courthouse because their computers were down and they said doing it online was easier than in paper form. But the link they gave us to do the online form was apparently wrong and now the restraining order process has been delayed because of the holidays. And our healthcare system is also a fucking joke because they barely did anything for our mom while she was hospitalized, and she only spent a day in the mental facility and we feel it would have been beneficial to have her there a few days while me and my sisters focused on the restraining order.
But now our dad went off to who knows where and could come back at any time and we can't stop him since it's his house and law enforcement sucks. We can't focus on anything or feel comfortable during the holidays because our mom wants to get back with him despite everything. And me and my sisters just feel alone because our aunts are just enabling his behavior and we quite literally have no other family to turn to so we are just doing it ourselves. I'm sitting here home alone watching my mom and typing all this out while I let my sisters take a breather and spend time with my sisters in laws. It just feels lonely, and stressful, and I'm unemployed for the time being and have no car to just go out because it's in the shop for repairs, and my unemployment is dwindling because I need to pay for car related stuff.
It just feels like one thing after the other, and I've already told some friends about my situation and I keep getting "Mo you're so resilient". Which is like, nice and all, but I don't want to be because I literally didn 't choose to be in this situation at all. I know I don't want to go down with a defeatist attitude but it's just so hard to keep a chin up and smile around everyone and act like things are normal.

Guys, I'm at the end of my rope. 😩
I won't wax eloquent on the details, but this is an emergency situation, so I figured I'd reach out to my Tumblr community for help.
Basically, I was supposed to stay in my university's summer dorms until mid-August, so I would have time to find an online job and hopefully save up enough money to start renting my own place in August. But today I received confirmation that I'm going to be kicked out and banned from the campus property in about 4 days due to some minor violations. You want to know just how minor those violations were? I took rolls of toilet paper out of public restrooms in various buildings on campus, and brought them back to my summer dorm (also a building on-campus and owned by the university). Why? Because don't have the money to buy self-hygiene essentials due to being out of work for over a year. (They accused me of 'stealing' this toilet tissue.) I also failed to attend a couple of meetings with university staff concerning my documented disability, and how it's been preventing me from completing all of the required room chores for residential students. (Yes, the university employs RAs to come into residential students' dorm rooms to check if chores have been completed, during the school year and over summer break.) A special committee for reviewing student conduct met to discuss my case today, and they decided that these two problems were sufficient reason to kick me out of my summer dorm and not allow me to set foot on campus property again until spring semester of 2024. By following the official process to appeal this verdict, I should secure myself a total of four more days in my summer dorm (from now until Tuesday of net week.) After that I will be forced off campus, and any personal belongings that I don't remove fast enough will permanently confiscated by the university. I enrolled at this university, and moved across three US states, to escape an abusive home and start my life over from scratch. As of now, I have no where to go after I leave my summer dorm. I'm in contact with a number of local people that I trust to discuss my situation with, and am pursuing every possible avenue to find a place to stay. (And I have a handful of close friends from out of state whom I've been updating.) My situation is desperate, so I decided to share my plight here with my Tumblr mutuals and followers. If you have any advice you'd like to offer me about how to move forward, my dms are open and I'd greatly appreciate your input. (Even if all you have to offer is some kind/encouraging words, I'd be more than happy to hear from you!) If you have some spare cash and are willing to send me a donation, my Venmo and PayPal handles are gonna be at the bottom of this post.
And if anyone suspects that this crisis will prevent me from writing and posting chapter 2 of my fanfic Incarnate...
DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THESE CIRCUMSTANCES. I HAVE STORY TO TELL, AND I'M GONNA TELL IT - ONE WAY OR ANOTHER.
As promised: Venmo - kmckenzie22 PayPal - RissaRooKangaQueen (If you live outside the US and want to send me a donation, PayPal has an app/website called 'Xoom' that can exchange and transfer money internationally! Feel free to DM me for details!)

Title: Read My Lips
Word Count: 3k
Tags: fluff, oneshot, deaf reader!
As you saw the flyer on the wooden pole.
Babysitter needed
Please call xxx-xxx-xxxx
You felt a tap on your shoulder and you friend came into view as you turned around.
She gave you a quizzical look.
She spoke as she signed.
‘You interested?’
You shrugged, you signed yes and nodded your head. She shrugged as well.
‘Extra cash.’
She nodded along and agreed. You ripped the flap of paper off and the two of you walked the remaining way to the park.
As the two of you sat, she signed about the cute boy in her class. This was your last year of college here before transferring to Gallaudet. Your friend buzzed with excitement as she continued to sign about how cute he was and how they were partners for a lab. You smiled and gave a chuckle when she explained how he fell on her by “accident” and offered his hoodie to her.
‘You he wants you, like bad.’
‘I'm hoping for that.’
As you eat your picnic you text the number, couldn't hurt to try right?
‘Hello, I'm texting about the babysitting job.’
Not even a minute later there was a response.
‘Hi yes. It's from 6 pm to 3 am.’
Your eyes widened and your friend peaked over. You looked at her.
‘ Long time working *N/S* (name sign). You think you can do it?’
‘Yes.’ You nodded and signed o.k.
‘That's fine. Quick information though I am deaf.’
There was a pause in the response time. After 5 minutes you sighed, your friend gave a quick wave and you turned your attention to her.
‘No text?’
‘Yeah.’
She rolled her eyes. ‘Fuck them.’
You smiled and gave the chuckle sign. You left your phone to the side, opting to focus your attention on the food and your friends' plan on what to do next.
You got home at 5 when the sun started to set now. It was kind of nice the longer nights and the cold weather.
You felt the vibration of your phone.
‘We don't know any asl. If you're still up for it you could start today.’
You titled your head and thought for a quick second.
‘That's fine I can read lips well. Or we can write/text.’
‘Okay see you at 6, heres my address *_________*.’
It was 5:05 now and from what you can remember that house was reasonably close just to walk to. You went into the kitchen where your dad was.
‘I have new job 6 pm finish at 3 am.’
You're father's eyes widened.
‘Long time work. You got job why?’
‘Extra money before going to Gallaudet.’ He nodded.
‘Ok, I'll inform your mom.’
‘Thanks. I start tonight.’
‘Ok I'll tell her when she's finished grocery shopping.’
‘You make what?’
‘Lasagna.’
‘Nice. I'll eat, finish, then go to work.’
You grabbed the lasagna and cut out a medium size square and sat next to your dad. He was watching the movie Monster-In-Law. Your dad has always liked rom-cons for some reason. You watched Jennifer Lawrence as a waiter at a fancy upscale party and looked at the guy she thought was cute.
You looked at the time at it was 5:40 pm. You waved to get your dads attention.
‘Going to work.’
He nodded. ‘Text me when you get to work.’
You went to the room and grabbed a hoodie since it was starting to get colder. It was a quick 10 minute walk from your house. You gave a slight knock to the door and waited.
The door opened and a disheveled looking man with wide eyes.
He began to speak. “Hi sorry, Abby won't…” he stopped in realization, he held up a finger for 1, and rushed to get paper and a pen.
“Sorry I'm still getting ready Abby is being a pain. Give me 5 minutes and I'll come back out.”
You read the sloppy writing and nodded. You motioned you to come in and you did. There was a little girl on the floor drawing. She looked at you and gave a small smile. You returned it. You got a crayon and wrote something down.
‘Hi! My name is Abby’
‘Hi, my name it Y/N.’
‘Mike told me you were deef’
‘It's deaf sweetie and yes I am.’
Just as Abby was about to write more Mike came out of the room. He had a pen and paper.
‘This is my sister Abby. She already ate but there are snacks in the fridge. The gig is $ an hour. It's low for right now but I am going to get another job soon with better pay, just gotta pass the interview. Her bedtime is at 9:30 latest 10.’
You read through it quickly and nodded. ‘Okay got it. What is you name?’
Mike reddened from embarrassment. ‘Mike what is yours?’
‘Y/N.’
‘Okay I have to go. Call text me if anything happens or any questions you have.’
You nodded and watched as Mike gave his sister a hug and said "see you later.’ You turned away as Mike began to say to call if the babysitter does anything.
Abby rushed back next to you.
‘Can you teach me some signs?’
You gave a smile and nodded.
She quickly scribbbled something down. ‘You have a pretty smile :).’
You gave an another and chuckled. ‘Thank you Abby. Here this is your first sign: thank you.’
She read and smiled looking up at you in anticipation. You brought your palm up and your fingertips touching your chin, you brought it down and slightly out before your chest.
‘Thank you.’
Abby repeated the sign a couple of times before you were satisfied with it.
‘Let's start with the Alphabet.
A B C……”
You wrote that letter and would point to the ones you were about to sign. Abby soaked it all in. She was excited to learn ASL, you found it endearing. Time flew and you started to point at a random letter and Abby would give the sign. You signed names and places to get her familiar with it.
It was already 9:10 and Abby yawned.
‘You look tired. Let's get you ready for bed.’
Abby nodded, sadly, as she rubbed her eyes. She led you to her. You tucked her in. She momentarily forgot.
“Goodnight Y/N.”
She gave a smile and signed goodnight as her. She gave a tired smile and signed it too. You put her night lights on and closed the door.
You went to the living room and snooped around. Abby left her crayons and pencils out, there was a couple of chapter books by the TV, you assumed were Mike's.
A thought occurred to you. You pulled out your phone and texted Mike
‘Just put Abby to bed, she ate a snack apple and some cheez itz before bed too.’
‘Okay, thank you. You can sleep as well if you want. I'll be home around 3:30.’
‘Okay got it.’
The conversation stopped and you gravitated towards the books and picked up a random one.
You nodded off around 1 am. You felt a shake and your eyes fluttered open. You saw Mike and gave a wave. You were about to start signing but grabbed your phone.
‘Sorry I was reading and I guess I fell asleep.’
He pulled his phone and read the text before replying. ‘Don't worry I don't mind.’
Before you could respond, he messaged again. ‘You can stay the night if you want to. There's no car so Im assuming you took the bus.’
‘I walked. I live right down the street. I don't mind walking back.’
‘No please I would feel better if you stayed, it's freezing and dark as hell.’
You puffed your cheeks and debated. It wasn't too far of a walk but understood his worry, it was also like 3 am and cold as hell apparently. You glanced up at him and saw he was staring. He coughed and looked away. You blushed, well yes he was dropped dead hot even with his disheveled look, if anything that added to the charm.
You gave a sigh and nodded. ‘Okay let me tell my parents so they don't worry.’
‘Okay great. Let me get you a blanket and some pjs.’
You texted your parents the update, and waited. You ohone vibrated, and you look up and saw Mike standing.
‘They in my room across from Abby's. I'll wait here so you can change.’
You nodded and got him. You entered his room, closed and locked the door. You saw the pjs plaid bottom that was soft. You looked around as you changed and saw his room was fairly organized clutter on his night stand and a clutter of books by the bed. His room was a pretty green color and his sheets were dark gray. You saw that under there was a bigger hoodie for you and it was a lot thicker.
You immediately put it on and was met with a cinnamon bourbon smell. You assumed it was his body wash, or deodorant, or even cologne. It smelt nice.
You made your way out and this time you had to shake him. He ended up falling asleep on the couch for the couple of minutes you were changing.
After a couple shakes he woke up and yawned. He grabbed the phone.
‘Sorry. Alright you welcome to anything in the fridge for breakfast before you leave, just lock the door and text when you do.’
‘Okay got it, goodnight.’
‘Goodnight.’
He got up and you sat down. He gave a little wave bye and you smiled at him.
You couldn't see it but he blushed as he walked into his room, feeling slight butterflies in his stomach.
You nodded off, dream filled with you and Mike in his room. Coincidently Mike had the same dream setting but more focused on the bed part.
It was 9 am when you woke up, Abby was watching tv cuddle by you on the floor. You gently tapped her shoulder and she squealed and smiled.
‘Hi N/S.’
‘Hi Abby. Goodmorning.’
It clicked what that sign was and she signed it back. She gave you pencil and paper and her drawing clipboard.
‘I have to go, do you want me to cook you something before I go.’
Abby nodded shly and you got up from the kitchen, you scanned the fridge and saw there was eggs and bacon, also there was some green onions. Omelet and bacon it is.
You cooked as Abby watched TV, bugs bunny and daffy duck. You made 3 plates, one for you, one for Abby, and one for me. You set it down in front of her.
‘Thank you.’ You smiled and nodded.
You ate and watched the show with her. Once you were done you grabbed the paper. ‘Okay I have to go, I'll text your brother but you should wake him up soon.’ Abby nodded, and as you were about to leave you realized were still in his pajamas and you left your clothes in his room. Abby saw the hesitation.
‘Whats wrong?’
‘I left my clothes in youe brothers room.’
‘It's open, he leaves it unlocked for me to go in and wake him up.’
You nodded, and walked to his door. You gave a knock before entering. He was still asleep, on his stomach. You tiptoed around, carefully not to step on anything that would make noise. You looked around the end of the bed, you picked up his clothes and found yours right where you left them. You turned yo look at him and noticed he was on his back, also he was shirtless, and that there was a tent in his blanket.
You grew warm at the realization and quickly and quietly rushed out of his room. You went to the bathroom and changed. You messaged Mike there was food and you were headed out now.
You left after signing bye to Abby again. You walked home and went immediately back to bed, the tiredness hitting you mid walk was unbearable.
You woke up to you mom shaking you.
‘12:30, wake up.’
You waved her off and was met with another shake. You groaned and flipped over to get up right.
‘Both father and I, going out to meet up with friends til 3. I made sandwiches, yours in the fridge on the 3rd shelf.’
“Ok. See you later, love you.’
‘Love you.’
Your mom walked off, and layed in bed. Your dream coming back to you.
Flashes popped up, you, Abbys and Mike having a picnic, you and Mike on a date, then the images of you and Mike making it in his room. You immediately shot up and scrambled out of bed and out of your room. You went to the kitchen and got some water.
Great now you had a crush for the dude you were babysitting his little sister for. Perfect. What could possibly go wrong here? You grabbed your phone from your pocket and saw there was a message from Mike.
‘Hey thank you for the food that was sweet.’
‘Oh it was no problem :)’
‘Hey I got called in 3 to 10 would you mind coming over again? If not, it's okay we haven't even gone over the schedule and what not.’
‘That's fine I'll be over at 2: 30 then?’
‘Yea thank you.’
You opened the fridge and there was the sandwich, you grabbed it, a coke, and then picked up a bag of chips next to the fridge.
Time passed as you watched Ella Enchanted. Once the movie was finished you went to your room and got ready quickly. You texted your parents as you locked up that you had another shift and would be home around 10 or 11 tonight.
You got there exactly at 2:30 and knocked. Mike was there with his phone in hand and looking cute though that didn't even cross you mind at all. Mike smiled.
He opened the door fully and stepped to the side.
‘Thank you again. I appreciate it. When I get home we'll talk about the schedule and everything then?’
‘Yeah that's fine.’
‘Okay bye.’
‘Bye have a good day at work.’ Mike gave you a grin and wink which threw you off. He hurried and gave Abby a hug and left.
The day passed by as you taught Abby some more signs, and then you made her dinner and watched TV with her as you ate. The night ended with the two of you doodling on the floor. She had a bear, a bunny, a fox, and a chicken all holding hands. You vaguely remembered that old chain that shut down a while back. You shrugged it off as she must've loved those weird animatronics.
You put Abby to bed at 9:45. You watched the TV the rest of the time with the subtitles on for the cartoons. You saw the door open from the corner of your eye and saw Mike exhausted coming through the door. You wrote a quick question in if he wanted food and handed it to him. He gave a quick nod.
You went to the kitchen, and heated up the left dinner. You gave it to him and he gave thanks. You started to pick up Abby's paper and left them on the kitchen table with her pencils. You turned around and then bumped into Mike. Your head hit his mouth.
You blinked as the pain slowly faded. You signed sorry and Mike waved you off. It's okay.
You were still pretty close as Mike held his mouth and chin. You saw there was a little red still. You didn't notice he the deep breath he took to calm himself.
Can you read lips?
You nodded and titled your hand back and forth.
Your eyebrows furrowed as he let go of his chin.
You're very pretty.
You're shot up at him, and you blushed. He smiled. If you're free tomorrow I don't work, maybe you could teach me ASL while Abby's in school.
You found yourself nodding, and Mike winked at you and put his plate in the sink. You felt giddy for tomorrow.
You left in a rush, even though Mkke offered the couch again. You politely declined writing that you it was okay and your parents expected you. He waved and winked goodbye. You never expected him to be so ... coy? It was kind of hot.
You've dated, of course, but Mike was something refreshing. All of the people you dated were kind of nerdy and quiet, which you didn't mind, but the relationships didn't last long. While Mike was a secret book nerd, he was teasing and so fucking hot.
The next day rolled around, and at 10, you met him at the diner. You wrote down your order, and the teo of you sat in silence.

Broken-Style Remix: Platonic Yandere Bruce Wayne + Bat-Family & Dakota Blake (Part 4)
SUBTITLE: BRUCE & MARISSA
Summary: Marissa Blake is at home working on a new project for her company when a knock on her door distracts her. She opens it to find a rather angry-looking Bruce Wayne. What will this conversation yield?
[The Blake Residence - Marissa's Office - Around 4:30 P.M.]
Swift fingers danced along the keyboard of the desktop as brown eyes watched the code appear on the monitor, a smile on the face of the woman who was making the code before she yawned and stretched before finishing the line of code and saving the work to a flash drive in the same of a corgi - it was a gift from Dakota when she was 6 years old and Marissa treasured it from the first day she got it. The Blake Woman stood from her chair and left the office, going into the kitchen just as the coffee maker buzzed to signal that a new pot of coffee was ready - just what the coder and artist-illustrator needed to get her brain fueled.
Marissa walked into the kitchen with her coffee mug in her hand before grabbing the coffee pot with her other hand and pouring the rich bean juice into her cup when the doorbell rang throughout the house. Marissa raised an eyebrow - all of her family members had a key and never used the doorbell & she didn't order food or a package, so who could that be? Placing the cup and pot down, the woman walked out of the kitchen, through the living room, and to the front door before opening it and her eyes widened at the sight of the person on the other side of the door.
"Bruce?" Marissa asked the man who glared at her with his blue eyes - eyes that were as blue as her daughter's, Marissa knew she was in for a ride for having a Wayne's Kid but she never had trouble with Dakota as a kid...the problem would come with her father. "What are you doing here, Bruce?" She asked him.
Bruce opened his mouth to speak but the sound of phone cameras clicking, people whispering, and videos being taken made Bruce walk into the apartment, much to Marissa's displeasure but she closed the door nonetheless and folded her arms as she glared at the back of Bruce Wayne as he looked around the apartment.
"This is where m daughter has been living for the past 16 years?" Bruce asked as he turned to face the woman who birthed Dakota, "With your pay as a Game Designer and Coder, you could have bought a more suitable place for a Wayne Heir, don't you think, Marissa?"
"Dakota didn't know she was a Wayne Heir until you came into her life and turned it upside down. Or, at least try to. She's still the same girl that I raised, completely selfless and uncaring of her Paternal Lineage." Marissa said as she walked over to the sofa and took a seat before offering Bruce the chair that Dakota loved sitting in. "Now, why are you here, Bruce?"
"I'll get straight to the point: I want you to transfer Dakota's Custody to me." Bruce said as he reached into his suitcase and pulled out some paperwork, "Sign these."
"You're out of your damn mind if you think I am going to give you my daughter Bruce. I raised that girl with blood, sweat, and tears; you think I'm just going to hand her to you just because you're Bruce Wayne? Hell no. Besides, you have a son - Damian, right? Just make him the Wayne Heir." Marissa threw her hand up at Bruce who glared at her.
"That's the thing - Dakota is my eldest daughter - my only daughter - and I want her to have the life that has been denied to her for all these years. You kept her from me but I want her back now. Sign the papers, Marissa, and I'll give you as much money as you want." Bruce said but Marissa looked pissed off at him.
"Money? You think I want Money?! I want nothing from you, Wayne! I have my daughter and there is nothing I will do to give her to you. Get the hell out of my house before I call the police on you for trespassing." Marissa rose to her feet and Bruce followed her and reached a hand out to grab her arm, but, suddenly, the window broke and something came flying through the air, sliced the back of Bruce's hand - making him pull his hand back, and looked at the object stuck into the ground: A simple arrow.
Bruce looked out of the window and saw a figure standing on the roof with a bow and arrow aimed at him but he couldn't see their face - they were wearing some kind of mask and all-black attire.
"The Hunters are here, Bruce." Marissa said.
"Hunters?" Bruce asked as he held his bleeding hand.
"A Vigilante Group - Something like the Bat Family but more stealthy. I'm under their protection and if you don't leave now, they are going to put an arrow in your head. Now, leave." Marissa said as she pointed at the door, causing Bruce to look at the arrow before walking out of the door with his suitcase in his uninjured hand. He looked at the roof and the Hunter was gone. Where did they go? Why was Marissa under the Protection of the Hunters? Just who were the Hunters?

Happy Meal
Hawks / Keigo Takami X Reader
-As a young mother YN didn't know what to do when the number 2 hero had taken the last happy meal that her son so desperately want.
Chapter 13: Bond
Tumblr media
Hawks was called to HPSC. He wanted to get this over with, after all he had you waiting on him at home.
The thought of you made him flutter, so he zoomed to get to the floor he was needed at. Getting there, he saw Enji and Tsunagu.
"Not good." He sighed landing at the room.
"Care to fill me in on whats happening?" Tsunagu asked.
Hawks grumbled, "I really don't. I just want to go home."
On cue the door to the office had slammed open.
"Come in now and close the door!" The president yelled.
The three came in and Tsunagu closed the door.
"Hawks, tell me about what happened during the incident. "
"Hosu was att-"
"No." The president threw pile of papers infront of the 3 heroes. "Tell me about your mission."
Hawks bent down to pick up and see the paper and his blood ran cold. His eyes widened and his throat dry.
Enji and Tsunagu picked up the papers to see what got Hawks like that.
"Those came in today."
"This is..." Enji stared.
"What is this?" Tsunagu was confused. "What does your girl and her kid have to do?"
Images of your previous house and daycare. There's now pictures of Sato that had been posted. Pictures of you walking the street of Hawks' place.
All of which had written the words, "Now I know" it was written in what he could only assume as blood.
"Tell me." The president repeated.
"During the incident..." Hawks was trembling, he wanted to get to you right now. "They were attacked. And he saw them..."
"Who saw who?" Tsunagu was getting upset being left out.
Hawks fist was shaking and he pounded on the ground. "Why did you have to fucking leave her?!" He hissed.
His mind was all over he was pacing the room.
"Hawks be professional." The president growled.
He turned to her with a look amd upon seeing her, he got reminded of who he was supposed to be. He clenched his fist tighter then released.
Enji filled Tsunagu in on what was going on.
"Where are the subjects."
Hawks growled at the used term but answered, "At my place. It's one of the safest places."
She nodded. "Move her out. I'm transferring your mission to Best Jeanist and Endeavour."
The three men turned abruptly.
"What why?!" Hawks was first to interject.
"I don't think-"
Tsunagu was cut off, "You practically failed Hawks. Not to mention... your developing some personal relationship with both subjects."
"They're not subjects! I took the mission and I'll finish it I'm not handing it to anyone."
"Hawks." She glared, "I'm handing you a new mission. Pertaining the creation of the alliance of the villains. You are to infil-"
"I decline."
"It's not an option. I'll be calling for the two to be escorted into your preferred place to keep them, Endeavour, Best Jeanist."
Hawks glared. He wanted to flounce and throw everything. He was aggravated.
"Now you two, decide who will take on the mission of keeping her. The other will help Hawks."
"I'm not letting go of this mission ma'am." Hawks deadpan. "Violence would be the only way to take them from me, you're welcome like to try."
The irk on the president was evident. She turned to the other two heroes present.
"Madam, I suggest you let him keep his mission as well." Enji sighed. "He's developed a bond with the two, they trust him enough to live at his place. Be it their bond may be real or not, its an asset to this mission. Forcing to break the bond would distance the mother once again to people making it much harder to keep watch of her."
Hawks looked and Enji, he felt at ease seeing he was on his side.
"I believe so too maam. If youd rather, you can transfer the new mission to us. It wouldn't be quite logical for Hawks to infiltrate the villains are, when they know he's the one who holds the mother and child."
The president glared at the three.
"Dismissed."
The three looked at each other.
"What of the mission?" Asked Tsunagu.
"He can keep his mission. Infiltrating the villains is a long shot as of now. You all have to keep eyes on them. Especially with the child's quirk surfacing."
"Yes ma'am."
"Hawks," He turned to her. "What's the child's quirk?"
He paused... "He can float."
"Is that the only quirk he's surface?"
"So far yes."
"Keep an eye. The moment he develops a 2nd quirk. It means trouble."
They all nodded.
