are you gonna do a epsiode synopsis-thingy for guilt trip? because if not then its fine :)
Here you go!
- The episode opens with Miss Bustier writing on the chalkboard. Marinette is staring fondly at Adrien - who is talking to Nino - while Alya is busy writing something that is immediately revealed to be a note to Nino that has a heart on it, which she then passes to him. Nino opens and reads it, smiling. Nathaniel is drawing while Alix is talking to Mylene.
- Rose is looking troubled, then winces and brings a hand up to the side of her head. She raises her hand, calling out to Miss Bustier, then asks if she can go to the nurse because “Miss Dora is back,” which Juleka gapes at. Miss Bustier makes a comment about “not keeping Miss Dora waiting,” then calls for Marinette to ask if she can accompany Rose to the nurse’s office. Marinette, however, is still distracted by Adrien, so Miss Bustier has to call her name again, to which Marinette flails and hurriedly agrees.
- Out in the school courtyard, Marinette asks Rose who “Miss Dora” is and suspects that it’s an imaginary friend like the unicorn Rose had in 6th grade. Rose explains that Miss Dora is a name she uses when her head is hurting, which then reminds her never to leave home without “Mister Coffee.” Marinette looks confused and Rose does an exaggerated voice, throwing her arms around, flexing, and pretending to be this “Mister Coffee” person, who is “the most important snack for your health.” Marinette giggles and comments that she love how Rose sees things, then tells her to return to class whenever she can, and also to greet Maria. Rose is confused, to which Marinette gestures to the door and clarifies, “Nurse Maria.” Rose laughs and tells her not to worry as she “never takes too long with Maria,” then enters the nurse’s office. Marinette smiles and walks away.
- Marinette returns to class, assuring everyone that Rose is fine, but Juleka frowns and looks down worriedly. The scene then cuts to lunch time, where Juleka is nervously playing with her food. She gets a text from Rose and gets excited at first, but her face pales when she actually reads the message, her hands gripping the phone tighter. She puts the phone facedown on her food tray, then pushes the tray away, clenching her fists on the table anxiously. Marinette walks by, noticing the pushed tray and Juleka’s slouched position, then tries to tease her, making up a character called “Mister Mosso,” a snack full of energy that helps so much that “Miss Dora” will visit her too (I presume this is either a mistranslation or a joke about bad cafeteria food). Juleka covers her mouth, made more upset by the comment, and runs off. Marinette calls after her worriedly, insisting it was a joke, then sets her tray down and chases after Juleka while calling out for her.
- The scene cuts to Juleka going through the doorway to the boiler room (for reference, it’s the room Horrificator kept her victims in “Horrificator”). She had apparently gained an insane amount of speed between getting to the lunchroom and then the courtyard, as Marinette is just exiting a door on the above floor, so she didn’t see Juleka. She tries to call out for Juleka, but gets no response, while Juleka is crouched down and sobbing to herself.
- Meanwhile, the window to Shadow Moth’s lair opens, and Shadow Moth monologues about how he knows this feeling of loneliness and anxiety that no one shares, and how only an akuma can relieve it. He sends his akuma off to pursue Juleka.
- Back at the school, Adrien is just walking back into the school (having been back at his mansion for lunch), but Marinette bumps into him on the way in. Cue shoujo bubbles from Marinette’s point of view as Adrien smiles with a hint of concern. Marinette excuses herself, but stumbles through her words. She manages to pull herself together enough to explain that she’s looking for Juleka, and that Juleka ran off crying while she was talking to her in the cafeteria. Adrien points to the open door next to them and suggests that she might be in there, so the scene cuts to them going inside.
- While Adrien are going down the stairs, Marinette trips on nothing before she hits the first stair, which causes her to fall onto Adrien (cue more shoujo bubbles). Marinette pulls back and apologizes, explaining that she’s just so passionate--worried about Juleka, and that’s why she’s so nervous and clusmy. She adds that she’s a fool, and that she doesn’t know if Juleka is upset because of something she said. Adrien tells her that not all the things she say make sense, but they’re never mean, so there must be another reason. He encourages her to follow her and they continue walking, soon hearing Juleka’s crying as Adrien catches sight of her briefly. He throws a hand up to stop Marinette, telling her to wait and say nothing while he goes and talks to Juleka.
- Adrien approaches Juleka, then kneels down and asks her if she’s okay. Juleka starts mumbling that she wants to be alone, while Marinette pulls her phone out mid-sentence to start texting. Adrien repeats what Juleka said and tells her that she understands, then glances back as he hears Marinette’s phone go off. The scene cuts away to the cafeteria, where the Miracuclass gets a group text from Marinette telling them that Juleka is in the boiler room, which they react shocked to.
- The shot cuts back to Juleka, as Marinette approaches and kneels down next to Adrien. Marinette apologizes to Juleka and calls herself the worst class representatitve ever, but adds that she doesn’t understand if she said something to make Juleka upset. Juleka glances up, hesitates, then admits that it’s not about Marinette, but Rose. Marinette asks what she means and Juleka answers that she’s worried about her. Marinette tells Juleka not to worry and that Rose is okay, as she just went to rest in the nurse’s office. She also tells Juleka that she can tell them anything, as they’re her friends and she promises that she won’t tell anyone. Juleka, relenting, pulls out her phone to show the text she’d gotten from Rose, showing Rose in an unknown blue bed and giving a peace sign at the camera. Marinette is shocked that Rose isn’t in the nurse’s office, and the camera pans out to reveal the rest of the Miracuclass, who express shock and ask if Rose is in the hospital. Juleka buries her face in her knees again and confirms that she is.
- Alya goes up to her and asks why Rose is in hospital. Juleka looks up, seeing everyone staring at her, and explains that Rose got sick when she was little. Mylene repeats what she said in shock and Ivan asks if she’s alright now. Juleka replies that Rose’s sickness can come back at any second. Alix repeats what Juleka said in shock and Nino points out that Rose is always so bubbly and happy, so they never would’ve thought about such a thing. Juleka admits that Rose made her promise not to tell anyone, then begs everyone not to tell Rose that she told them. Adrient tells her to stay calm and assures that they won’t treat Rose differently because of her illness, with Marinette assuring that Rose will never know she told them. Markov then comments that he’s reprogramming his software to give him any future information on Rose’s story, and Kim swears that he’ll never say anything, even if he’s bitten by a zombie dolphin.
- Adrien offers his hand to Juleka, who takes it and lets him help her up. He tells her that it’s okay and that she kept her secret for as long as she could, and it was just too sad for her to keep it to herself anymore. Juleka thanks him and Adrien tells her that that’s what friends are for, and that Rose trusts her and Juleka can trust them, assuring that they won’t say anything but they’ll help Juleka if she needs it since they know now. The Miracuclass joins in to group hug Juleka.
- The akuma is repelled by the positivity, and Shadow Moth says that it’s impossible that such despair disappeared.
- The episode cuts to later, where Juleka is smiling as Rose waves at her, having just got off the metro and wishing her a good morning. Juleka hurries down the stairs and hugs her, with Rose telling her that she’d said everything was fine. The scene then shows the both of them heading to school, with Adrien greeting the two of them on their way up the stairs. Rose greets him back, then Marinette passes them and also greets them, though she stops partway to the school’s entrance.
- Marinette turns around, then rushes to hug Rose, telling her that she loves her and that she doesn’t think she says that enough. Rose tells Marinette that she really likes her too, at which point Mylene comes in, calling Rose the school’s sunshine. Markov joins in to say that everyone’s mood increases 90% when around her, while Max confirms that the calculations are correct. Nino tells Rose that she’s the sound that brings happiness to everyone’s dance floor, and Juleka starts looking uncomfortable as Rose - oblivious - tells everyone that they’re important to her too, and she and everyone else don’t say such things enough. She cheers that this is an amazing way to start off the day, then continues heading into the school. Juleka sighs in relief.
- On Rose’s way into class, Kim runs up and takes Rose’s bag. Rose thanks him but insists that it’s not heavy. Juleka glares from a distance while Kim comes up with an excuse that carrying Rose’s bag is good exercise to him. Rose giggles, then thanks Kim when he hands her the bag when Rose is back at her desk. As Rose goes to sit down, Marinette places a cushion below her, explaining that the chairs are so uncomfortable that she decided to make pillows for everyone, but Rose is the first to try it. Rose, starting to get uncomfortable, accepts.
- Rose starts to take her tablet out of her bag, but Markov pulls it out the rest of the way, telling her that he’ll writing all of her school notes so she doesn’t get tired. She thanks him, but says that she likes writing her notes. Markov flies off and Rose looks over at Juleka, who’s forcing a grin. Rose looks ahead with a smile and Juleka frowns.
- At the cafeteria, Marinette allows Rose and Juleka to pass her in line, Kim making a show of telling the others to let Rose pass as he, Max, Marc, and Nathaniel back away. Kim excuses it by saying that it’ll make Rose happy, with Juleka glaring at him. Rose sits down with Juleka, and Marinette passes Rose the apple she has. This leads to Alya passing her apple as well, then Nino, then Max and Markov, then Kim, then Ivan, at which point Rose is shown to have a tiny mountain of apples and she glances at Juleka. Juleka looks away, but Rose says that she has the feeling that Juleka needs to tell her something. Juleka looks back and Rose takes her hand, dragging her off.
- Cut to the restroom with both of them in a stall. Juleka admits that she told the others and Rose repeats what she said, then laments that they’ll never treat her normally ever again. She sees Juleka’s sad face, then insists that it’s her own fault for telling Juleka her secret in the first place, because she made Juleka worry about her all the time. She cheers back up and says that it’s no problem, grabbing Juleka’s hands and saying that she’ll solve this, as she should have told the others a long time ago, so she’ll explain everything and things will go back to normal. Rose leaves the stall and Juleka smiles.
- As Rose opens the door to the restroom, she finds that everyone had been leaning against it, thus knocking them over. Max explains that he was worried since she was in there for longer than the average person spends in the bathroom, with Ivan chiming in that he was about to tear the door off and Kim saying that he was almost going to dive in to save her. Rose says and says that she sees that she made everyone worried and apologizes for it it. She explains that she never told anyone about her illness until that day because it’s not her problems that matter but how she overcomes them. She asks if they know how she does that, and Marinette suggests that it’s by giving cute nicknames to them. Alya suggests that it’s her always being generous (we’re show an image/flashback image of Rose and Ali working together somewhere) and Ivan suggests that it’s her always singing too loud. Rose says that it’s all of those and she wants to keep doing that. She adds that she doesn’t want anyone to see her differently and that she wants them to be her friends who laugh and have fun with her, not carry her stuff or embroidering her pillows or worrying about her every time she’s in the bathroom. She says that she doesn’t want them to feel sorry for her, taking Juleka’s hand and looking at her while assuring that there’s no one happier than her.
- Marinette promises not to embroider more pillows, Kim says that he won’t exercise by carrying her bag, and Alix says that that’ll be enough of exaggerated affection. Rose says that she likes their affection, then giggles, the group immediately going in to group hug her. Rose tells Juleka that she told her everything would be okay and Juleka smiles.
- The scene cuts to later in Ms. Mendeleiev’s class, where Ms. Mendeleiev says they’ll be studying viruses, germs, and bacteria. along with everything terrible they can cause. Rose sneezes, which causes everyone to look back at her in panic. Marinette stands up and shouts for Rose’s parents to be called, then throws a blanket over her while Mylene drops boxes of tissues next to her. Alya shows her phone and says that she can’t manage to contact her parents, so Marinette throws a phone to Nino to tell him to call an ambulance. Chloe and Lila look completely disinterested/annoyed at all of this.
- Markov and Kim are bringing Rose more things, but Rose stands up and screams for everyone to stop. Everyone freezes in place and Rose apparently(?) teleports from the back of the classroom to the front so there can be a shot of everyone but her freezing in place. Rose reminds them of their promises, which leads to Juleka apologizing and running out. Rose tells her to wait and chases her.
- Shadow Moth shows up again, stating that this feeling is more powerful than a secret and more painful than the anguish of lonelinessL the guilt of a girl who betrayed her best friend. He sends another akuma, different from the first, and adds in an amok this time.
- Meanwhile, Juleka locks herself in one of the stalls,  with Rose pursing. She bangs on the door and apologizes, telling Juleka that it was her own fault and begging her to open the door. Juleka pulls out her phone and gets a string of texts, first from Marinette - who says that it’s her fault and she’s sorry - then everyone else. Juleka notes that everyone is feeling guilty because of her, which Rose denies. Rose then sees the akuma and amok ascending over the stall door and cries out for Juleka’s name once more, begging her to answer.
- The amok slips into Juleka’s phone while the akuma goes into Juleka’s glove. Shadow Moth introduces himself and gives her the offer to use her feelings against those that promised to keep her secret instead of letting herself get taken by her intense guilt. Rose begs Juleka to resist, but Juleka gets akumatized into Reflekta. Rose tells her to wait and she’ll be right back, then runs off while the part of the stall door Reflekta’s facing turns into a portal. Shadow Moth explains that it’s her sentimonster, Guilt, and it’s perfect for Reflekta’s needs, as everyone who broke their promise and is ruining her friend’s life are going to go into a Guiltrip. Reflekta says that the first person to take the guilt will be her, then drops her phone into the trash bin as the portal activates. Reflekta lets herself get sucked in, much to Shadow Moth’s shock.
- Rose bursts into the classroom to tell everyone that Juleka is being akumatized and begs someone to help. Ms. Mendeleiev comments that she’s a science teacher, not a superheroine, starting to tell everyone to remain seating but turns as she realizes that everyone excluding Lila, Chloe, and Sabrina are gone.
- The group heads for the bathroom, but Adrien and Marinette sneak away to transform. Ivan pulls the stall door open, revealing the portal, and Alya wonder aloud what it is just as the portal activates and starts sucking everyone inside. Rose clings to the restroom’s doorway and Ms. Mendeleiev enters to tell everyone to return to class only to get sucked into the portal. Rose shouts for Juleka to keep calm because she’ll save her, then lets go of the doorway to go into the portal, though her ankle gets snagged by Ladybug’s yoyo. Ladybug is hanging onto Chat’s baton, which is lengthened past the width of the doorway while Chat hangs off to the side. Ladybug tells Rose to wait and she’ll take her to a safe place, but Rose explains that her friend Juleka is in there and she’s not leaving her alone, untying Ladybug’s yoyo from her ankle and letting herself get sucked into the portal. Ladybug comments that she and Chat are going to play explorers, then latches her yoyo to Chat’s baton, telling him to hold still. Chat drops and grabs Ladybug’s hand and they both go into the portal, still supported by Ladybug’s yoyo on his baton.
- However, the wall with Chat’s baton starts to break, with Ladybug saying that the wind is too strong and she can’t hold it anymore. The wall breaks completely and Ladybug and Chat are sent spiraling down the space inside the portal, represented as a spiraling pink tunnel.
- Shadow Moth gloats that Ladybug and Chat Noir fell directly into his trap and are never escaping, adding that their miraculouses are his.
- Ladybug and Chat Noir reach a part of the tunnel that is constantly sucking them in deeper. Chat notes that it’s colder on the inside and Ladybug says that she has a weird feeling. The camera cuts to something on the tunnel, which spits out a hot pink bubble that floats towards Ladybug. Chat shouts at her to be careful and hits the bubble with his baton, making it burst. More bubbles come out and they keep busting them, Chat noting that it’s like a huge pinball machine while Ladybug notes that it’s in multiball mode. They both start “swimming” deeper into the tunnel.
- As Ladybug and Chat Noir are going by, they see Ivan, covered in bubbles and saying that everyone’s trapped because of him, repeating it over and over as more bubbles attached to him. Chat wonders aloud what’s wrong with him, and Ivan gets completely covered in bubbles, which turns him into a Reflekta clone. Chat Noir asks if he’s seeing things right and Ladybug says that Juleka must’ve been reakumatized by Shadow Moth, the portal tunnel being her sentimonster. She says that they have to find where Reflekta is hiding as she must be the one controlling things. She tells Chat to be alert and they swim deeper through the tunnel.
- The two hear an adult female’s voice muttering about how she shouldn’t have let “them” leave the classroom, which is revealed to be Ms. Mendeleiev who also gets turned into a Reflekta. Ladybug notes that the sentimonsters purple balls are infecting everyone and Chat says that it won’t be easy to find the real Reflekta when everyone looks like her. Another Reflekta is nearby and mutters in a male voice about how he would’ve been faster if he’d worn his competition shorts, while another with a female voice murmurs how she shouldn’t have let go of Ivan’s hand. Ladybug points out that they might look the same, but the voice is still theirs.
- As they descend further, Chat sees a Reflekta with a male voice talking about how he can’t help his best friend face his father. Chat saddens, realizing that it’s Nino, and multiple pink bubbles come out to start sticking to him. He laments that they wouldn’t be stuck in this trap had they defeated Shadow Moth. Ladybug states that this can’t be happening - not now - and a single pink bubble sticks to her which she then tries to pull off. Chat sighs and activates Cataclysm, trying to touch himself with it, but Ladybug cries out for him, the pink bubble now off of her as she goes to hold his arm back. She tells him that they’ll be paralyzed if they turn into Reflekta and Shadow Moth will take their miraculouses. More pink bubbles start sticking to her and Chat says that they should give him their miraculouses, Ladybug relents and states that he’s right, wondering aloud how she could believe that they could beat a sentimonster so powerful by themselves.
- Rose happens to be floating by and smiles as she sees Ladybug and Chat Noir. She cheers for them and tells them that they’re amazing and she knew they’d come to save them. She then sees the emotional state that they’re in and saddens, apologizing that they had to come and lamenting that it’s her fault and she’s not a good friend. She adds that she never should’ve told Juleka her secret and pink bubbles start sticking to her. However, we’re shown a visual metaphor shot from behind her, dark energy swirling around her while she starts lighting up with bright white energy. She states that she can’t think that way and it was good that she told Juleka because that was what made their friendship strong. She strikes a pose as she repels the pink bubbles away, which makes Ladybug realize that Rose is fighting against the negativity by thinking positive, which is what’s preventing her from transforming into Reflekta.
- Ladybug’s own pink bubbles float away from her and she says that they’ll have to do the same, so she starts telling Chat Noir that he can do it and he has to think positive. Chat doesn’t respond and Ladybug starts complimenting him, saying that he’s the best partner anyone could ask for. He asks her if she really thinks that and she replies that she does, adding that she doesn’t say it often but she couldn’t do any of this without him and it’d be less fun too. Chat finally smiles and repels his pink bubbles just before he’s consumed by them, saying that it’s a wonderful thing to hear and adding that Ladybug is also “purrfect.” Ladybug laughs and pushes him back, saying that she’s glad he’s back. Chat flicks off the final pink bubble on him and asks if she really thinks they’ll be able to defeat the sentimonster. Ladybug says that she does and reminds him not to forget that she has her lucky charm, summoning said object (turning herself into her Charm form) and receiving a pickaxe. She starts to talk about what she can do with it, but trails off nervously when she doesn’t see anything of note. Chat asks her if she doesn’t know what to do with it and Ladybug insists that she does, saying that she’s just adding suspense.
- Chat suggests using his Cataclysm to make the sentimonster go crazy, but adds that maybe it’s not the best idea to use it while they’re inside. Ladybug agrees and states that the negativity is messing with her head, at which point Rose starting cheering for them, saying that they’re the best and they’ll manage to save Juleka because she believes in him. Chat Noir has stopped fighting the bubbles a bit ago and Ladybug is still trying to fight, saying that they’ll do what Rose said but they’ll need more positivity for that, then adds that she already knows who can help them. She opens her yoyo and pulls out the pig miraculous, giving it to Rose with the usual miraculous speech. Rose comments on its beauty and Daizzi emerges from the miraculous, both Rose and Daizzi talking in sync as they comment on the other’s cuteness and ask for their name. Rose introduces herself and Daizzi follows suit, explaining that they’re Rose’s kwami. Ladybug adds that the kwami give them powers and tells Rose to use the words, “Daizzi, Rejoice,” to transform. Chat, meanwhile, is still floating away, absolutely covered in bubbles.
- Rose transforms and Ladybug goes to introduce Chat to her, but trails off when she struggles for a name. Rose introduces herself as Pigella and Chat repels his bubbles, commenting to Ladybug that she found a solution. Ladybug reminds him that she told him to think positive, and Chat says that he can’t wait to see their new friend in action. They descend deeper and we start to hear a voice - Juleka’s - saying that everyone feels guilt because of her: Rose, Marinette, Adrien, Ivan, Mylene, then that same phrase is repeating over and over, along with only those five names. Ladybug gapes in shock at the sheer amount of bubbles surrounding Relekfta, then Ladybug and Chat turn expectantly to Pigella. Pigella descends and places her hands on the wall of bubbles surrounding Reflekta, then pulls out her weapon - a tambourine - and summons her power, which reveals a glowing gift. Pigella pulls the ribbon off and Chat wonders aloud if it’s a superpower. Ladybug explains that Pigella’s power shows the affected person the biggest wish in their heart. The wish is reveal to be Rose and Juleka together, surrounded by the rest of the class, and Pigella notes that a normal day in class where everyone acts normal around Rose is Juleka’s biggest wish. Reflekta smiles at the image all of the bubbles around her burst.
- Chat says that it’s impressive and Pigella explains that it’s the power of positivity. Chat adds that it worked perfectly to win the battle, then floats closer to Reflekta and Cataclysms her object, freeing the akuma. Ladybug captures it and frees the purified butterfly, then Relekta de-akumatized back into Juleka. Pigella approaches her and assures her that everything’s okay, introducing herself as Pigella and adding that Ladybug and Chat Noir saved her. Ladybug and Chat Noir then turn and Chat notices that the sentimonster and “its friends“ (the other Reflekta) don’t seem very happy. Ladybug says that they need to find out what object controls the sentimonster, then turns and asks Juleka if she remembers where the amok went. Juleka explains that it’s in the trash bin and Chat Noir repeat what she said like a question. One of the Reflekta states that they won’t escape from the void of guilt, and all of the Reflekta start shooting at them, with one repeating roughly what the other said. Pigella says that they will and powers the beams back with her tambourine, telling them to change the subject. Chat Noir tells her that she’s done well, starting to knock Reflekta’s away, and Pigella states that what’s important is not the problems but how they fight them. Ladybug says that they have to find the amok, so she, Chat Noir, and Pigella (who has Juleka at her side) all start to ascend the tunnel.
- The suction begins as the group ascends higher, eventually becoming too much. Ladybug is thrown back, clinging to one of the things that spits out the pink bubbles, and laments that the wind is too strong and they won’t be able to get out. Chat notes that it looks like they ran out of luck, and the mention of luck reminds Ladybug of her lucky charm. She pulls it out and uses it to pull herself higher, stating that this is what it was for, and she slowly climbs upwards while using it. She exits the portal, then pulls Juleka’s phone out of the trash can and smashes the screen with the pickaxe, freeing the amok. The portal closes in on itself and everyone inside emerges.
- Shadow Moth monologues that Ladybug may have won with that positivity of hers, but she can count on him to fill her days with negativity. He adds that he knows how this ends and his lair’s window closes.
- Ladybug, Chat Noir, and Pigella do a group fist pump, then Ladybug walks over to the disoriented Juleka. Pigella sneaks away to de-transform and Ladybug opens her yoyo to pull out a pink and white charm, handing it to Juleka and assuring her that it’ll protect her from future akumatizations. Juleka smiles and nods, holding the charm to her chest. Ladybug then uses Miraculous Ladybug, returning herself to her normal form and changing the Reflekta back into their original selves.
- Rose runs up and hugs Juleka, then takes Ladybug’s hand in both of hers and thanks her for saving Juleka. Ladybug smiles at her, then she and Chat Noir leave and go up to the school’s rooftop. Chat Noir asks if she’s not going to hide with Rose to get the miraculous back, but Ladybug reveals that Rose had given it to her when Rose held her hand earlier. Chat Noir comments that Rose really is incredible and Ladybug says that Rose doesn’t need a miraculous to be a superhero.
- The scene cuts to the classroom, Marinette approaching Rose and taking the pillow back from underneath her, saying that Rose will have to wait for her birthday like everyone else. Nino, Kim, and Ivan looked shocked, to which Marinette asks them what’s wrong and states that Rose isn’t made of glass. Rose laughs and jokes that she’s going to faint from laughing too much, leaning on Marinette and teasingly begging for someone to take her to the nurse. The class, barring Chloe, laughs, and Chloe stands up to ask why nobody laughs when she says something like that. Adrien comments that, in her case, it’s never a joke. The class laughs again and Chloe relents, saying that it’s true. Rose says that it’s really nice having everyone back and tells them to please never change.
- The episode ends there.

07 Ghost - Volume 15
Ooh a Katsuragi cover. I always appreciate when manga follow the “every character gets their own cover” formula. Even the smaller side characters get a day in the limelight. Not sure what the deal is with the bubbles but okay...
Katsuragi’s kind of a boring character, but I appreciate that he’s a foodie. Gotta love a villain with hobbies.
Ch. 85
-It’s probably just a coincidence that Ouka’s clone code is 007, but it feels like it’s meant to be symbolic since this is “07 Ghosts”
-So the other clones are soulless, however that works. Not sure what they mean by “I want to go back!” Back to...non-existence?
-Is this the first time we’re seeing the Eye of Rafael’s personality? I wanna see more. It’d be cool to see Rafael and Mikhail interact (wait, is Rafael a boy? Genderless?)
Ch. 86
-The splash page for this chapter is like the gayest thing I’ve ever seen:
Tumblr media
look at this nineties boy band lmao (why is Teito’s hair blue?)
-Okay but the omake about eggs over rice is a big mood. When I went to Japan for the first time I completely fell in love with how they use eggs and now all I want to do is eat eggy dishes lol
-I didn’t know skull noses looked like this and it’s kinda freaking me out:
Tumblr media
-It doesn’t seem totally clear how aware Ouka and Teito are of everything Mikhail and Rafael say when they take over. When Ouka “wakes up” in front of Ea she clearly heard the exchange between Mikhail and Rafael, but in earlier chapters it seems like Teito would completely black out when Mikhail took over, Maybe it has to do with the level of control they have over their alter egos?
-So Ouka’s only KINDA a clone lol. Sorta feels like a cop out but hey, whatever makes her feel better.
-Oh shit, dead anime Mom hair! I always wonder if the mangaka is aware of the trope or if they just subconsciously choose the style whenever they need a mom character:
Tumblr media
-Wolfram was an incel before we knew what an incel was lol. Feels very Severus Snape creepy (except he’s supposed to be a bad guy so...)
Ch. 87
-I found this chapter kinda dumb for two reasons: the fact that an antidote would wake Teito’s mom from a poison coma after so long & Ouka’s mercy toward Wolfram. I hate it when bad guys in anime/manga are redeemed like 0.2 seconds after they’re defeated! He didn’t deserve that
-Ayanami referring to himself as a death God...kinda hot (I feel like Death God sounds way more epic than shinigami lol)
Ch. 88
-Really not sure how “Landkarte” is supposed to be pronounced. I’m reading it in my head like “Land cart” lol
-”I died drowning, nice to meet you!” lol same.
-Landkarte’s speech about attachments felt very Buddhist. Again with the German names but Asian everything else
-Landkarte’s ability sounds a lot like Madoka’s ability at the end of Madoka Magica. Teleporting to someone before they become 100% corrupt and ending their suffering. Landkarte is mahou shoujo confirmed.
-I like how Ea and Landkarte are a package deal. Not only are they cute together but it also just makes sense that their powers are incomplete alone because they’re fragments of Verloren.
-Damn WTF. THAT took a turn D: it feels a little clumsy that they introduced Landkarte as a cinnamon roll and then turned him into an axe scythe murderer two seconds later but okay...
-Man this chapter was juicy...with only two volumes left at this point, I really wonder how many more twists we’ll get.
Ch. 89
-I feel like Landkarte’s goals are pretty vague here. “I want to make the world perfect and somehow that involved murdering a bunch of people!” Riiiight...
-Does this mean Ayanami isn’t the real final boss? Ayanami redemption arc confirmed?
-Apparently Landkarte can just live with half of a body. Is that what Lab meant by him being “not a person anymore”?
-I swear, this is the first chapter where they verbally acknowledge that they have wings lol.
Ch. 90
-”I taste like family don’t I?”...wh-wha?? WHAT!? What’s happening?
-They keep referring to Mikhail like he’s a robot all of the sudden. “Static,” “circuits,” what is this steam punk all of the sudden??
-Okay, wait. Where the heck do the ghosts/Verloren get their new names when they die? Ayanami’s original name was “Krowell”? Why did he jump name nationalities (European to Japanese)?? Castor also had some kind of Chinese sounding name before he died. Do they assume new names to hide from their families? Like a secret identity?
-Ea and Landkarte’s reunion is really badass, hell yeah

Rock Versus Needle
Request: Basically Kirishima already got a few piercings, but he’s worried his quirk will break the tattoo gun at the shop he’s at so he enlists Shinsou to brainwash him… Also Kiri looking really blissed out and dazed? ( By @ride-the-bifrost )
Prompt: (Requested) Kirishima was fine with getting piercings, but after one disaster at a tattoo parlor, he realizes he won’t be able to ink his skin unless he enlisted some help… And Shinso just happened to be in the neighborhood.
Pairing: Shinsou x Kirishima
Rating: Fluff! (Beginning of a romance?... ;3), some dirty thoughts
Words: 4,464 (DID I GO OVERBOARD?! IM SO SORRY)
-----------------------------------------------------------
“I’m sorry, you want me to do what?”
Shinsou stared at his red-haired friend, one brow propped up in slight surprise. The pair sat in a quiet cafe, with a cup of steaming coffee in front of each of them. However, both mugs sat untouched. Shinsou leaned forward, trapping his beverage between his elbows as he clasped his hands above it, resting his lips against his thumbs thoughtfully. Across from the table was Kirishima, who was currently fiddling with the stud in his earlobe. He was nervous, that much was easy to see, but Shinsou wasn’t exactly sure why. He leaned back in his chair, violet eyes scanning over Kiri’s figure as he patiently waited for a response. He let his eyes linger on the visible piercings that his friend already owned, from the dark studs in his lobes to the silver hoops that climbed up the shell of his ear. On each of his eyebrows was a curved barbell; one of his latest piercings added to his ever expanding collection.
“I wanted you to use your quirk on me… At a tattoo parlor.” Kiri’s voice was unnaturally quiet, and his tongue darted out to swipe his bottom lip, the steel of his tongue piercing glinted before disappearing back into his mouth. Part of Shinsou wondered how that cold steel would feel against his own tongue, but he quickly shook the thought away. He didn’t want to start another hopeless crush; not after the first one failed so drastically.
Kiri sighed, louder this time, and dropped his head into his hands on the table. “It was just so… So embarrassing!” Shinsou winced at his volume, which was bordering on wailing at this point, and noticed a few of the other customers glancing in their direction. “I knew it was going to hurt, but I wasn’t expecting my quirk to go off and break the poor guy’s gun! He said it was okay, but I gave him money for a replacement anyways, and oh man… It was just so unmanly of me to not control myself. And now I’m scared to do it again, not because of the tattoo gun, although that little guy is expensive…” Kiri was starting to ramble, acting oblivious to Shinsou’s presence and disappearing into his own thoughts. The action reminded Shinsou of Midoriya, and a small grin flew across his lips. “And money isn’t much of a problem since we’re pros now, but I don’t want to gain the rep of the one guy who’ll destroy your tattoo gun in the blink of an eye, ya know? And-”
Shinsou waved his hand, halting Kiri in his verbal tracks. “Okay, okay. I get it. Did you ever have the same problem with your piercings?”
“No! Those were practically nothing; the pain was there for a second, then gone! But as soon as that needle hit my skin…” He shuddered at the memory. “Man, I’ve been told that it was going to be painful, but that was not like being scratched by a cat, let me tell you!” Shinsou grinned at that answer, knowing what he was referring to. When he had gotten his first tattoo, the artist had told him the same thing, that ‘it’ll feel like being scratched by a cat over and over, no worries honey!’ when in actuality, it was much worse than that. Shinsou knew what it felt like to be scratched by a cat - he had several of them to know - and that was not it.
“Alright, I’ll help you… on one condition.” Kiri’s face brightened up almost instantly, and Shinsou wanted oh-so-badly to lean across the table and smash his lips to the other man’s, yet held back. “If I do this, you’ve gotta cover for dinner.” Kiri laughed at the trade, immediately agreeing and beginning to bubble with excited chatter. Shinsou, however, found himself with a sense of dread; he said he didn’t want to get another crush, yet here he was, setting up dinner for him and a supposed friend that he may have been a little attracted to… Okay, maybe a lot attracted to. He knew he shouldn’t have been, but after the break up between Kiri and Bakugou, Shinsou had become the red-head’s closest friend. He didn’t want to ruin that because of feelings, and he didn’t plan to. Sooner or later, they’d disappear, Shinsou told himself.
Right?
-----------------------------------
If Kirishima was going to be honest, he was terrified of asking Shinsou for his help.
As the two continued down the sidewalk, towards the tattoo parlor that was just able to squeeze Kiri in for a quick appointment, he couldn’t help but continually glance at his violet-eyed friend. Did he think Kiri was more unmanly now? Was he debating on staying as his friend? Did Shinsou hate Kiri for asking him to use his quirk for something so silly? Kiri hoped he didn’t. He liked having Shinsou as a friend, and his looks weren’t all too bad either. Not that Kiri would ever say that aloud; he valued their friendship too much to lose Shinsou because of a little crush.
Kiri looked away from Shinsou, instead daydreaming about the things that have happened to him so far to get him to this point in life. After him and Kat- Bakugou had broken up, Kiri had felt so lost. They’d been glued to the hip since high school, dated for 2 years, before Kirishima had ended the relationship after catching the infamous hot-head in a not-so-accidental position with his “arch nemesis” Midoriya. First, he had been upset, crying for what felt like forever and locking himself in his apartment… Then he was angry, to the point that he made it known to the tabloids who Ground Zero had an affair with, when it had happened, and so forth; all with his usual bright smile on his face. Essentially, it had plummeted Bakugou to the bottom of the popularity scale, especially since he was pretty mouthy to begin with.
After ruining that, Kiri started to go more heavily on his piercings. Before, he only had the two innocent studs in his ears; but that quickly escalated to the metal that now climbed up his entire ear, to the piercings on his eyebrow and tongue, and finally to the most painful of the piercings on his, ahem… miniature Red Riot. Now that was a pain he wasn’t expecting either, but it still didn’t punch him the same way as the attempted tattoo had.
He looked at Shinsou again, catching his violet eyes in his own amber ones, and felt a light blush rise to his cheeks. Shinsou cocked his head to the side. “Are you nervous? You seem to be zoning out.” Shinsou asked curiously. Kiri immediately shook his head, placing a grin on his lips and flashing two thumbs-up in his friend’s direction. “Nah, I’m ready to go! Let’s get this rolli-”
And then he walked straight into a telephone pole.
“Kiri!” Shinsou grabbed his upper arm just as Kiri began to stumble backwards, eyes dazed and blinking, as if unsure on what had just happened. “Jeez, are you okay? You should’ve looked at where you were going instead of at me. I know I’m handsome, but still…” Shinsou’s attempt at a joke managed to make Kiri laugh, if only slightly, before he gently shook of his friend’s hand from his bicep. “I’m okay, I’m okay! I’ve taken tougher hits than that, you know!” As if to prove his point, he activated his quirk and hardened his face, sharp teeth still out for display in a face-breaking smile.
Shinsou sighed, running one hand through his unruly hair, but smiled back nonetheless. “Good thing we’re almost there. You’re sure you’re alright?” He reached a hand out, brushing it against Kiri’s forehead softly. Kiri’s face erupted with heat, turning as red as his dyed hair. “Y-yeah! I’m okay! Weshouldreallygetgoingcmonletsgo.” He practically spit out his words before rushing forward, placing both of his palms on his cheeks as if to hide his blush. Jeez, was he a high school girl in a shoujo manga or something? Hopefully Shinsou didn’t think that was too weird. He risked glancing behind him, watching as Shinsou’s eyes furrowed but followed close behind him.
Shinsou wasn’t exaggerating when he said they were nearing the tattoo shop; it sat at the corner of the street, a neon light blinking in its window to signal that the doors were open to all who dared to enter. For a moment, Kiri felt a chill slide down his spine, and a flashback to the days prior. He was about to turn around and call it quits for the day, yet Shinsou’s hand stopped him. It was warm against his bare forearm, and as the sleeve lifted up, Kiri could see the beginning of his tattoo. Kiri gulped. Not because of nerves, as Shinsou probably thought, but because Kiri had the urge to turn around and abandon the shop to instead shove the quiet man into a wall and kiss him until their lips were bruised. He jumped back for a moment, forcing Shinsou to drop his hand, and grinned weakly. “No time to waste!” He managed to slip the words past his lips before entering the building, trying to shake off the yearning feelings that were beginning to build. He could hear Shinsou sigh behind him, but didn’t think much of it; if Kiri had turned around to look at the purple-haired man, he probably would’ve noticed that Shinsou might’ve been having the same yearning thoughts as him.
The tattoo shop was clean inside, with one wall lined with seats and the other with framed artwork, most likely from the artists available. Straight across from the doorway was a long bar-like surface that blocked off the artists from the customers until both were ready, and in front of the register was a young woman with hair dyed as green as her vibrant eyes. She lifted her attention from her book just as the pair entered, a friendly smile growing on her lips.
“Shin! Long time no see!” She greeted the hero, placing a marker in her novel before closing it. “Were you here to add to the collection already?”
Shinsou laughed, and Kiri noticed the way his shoulder seemed to slouch with comfort. Oh, Kiri thought, eyeing the pair as they talked. This isn’t any tattoo place; this is Shinsou’s go-to. Knowing that the place was one that Shinsou held at such a high regard made Kiri feel warm inside, as if he was making a prominent connection with the violet-eyed man. He stared at the back of his head longingly.
The girl at the front desk craned her neck, eyes straying from Shinsou to instead land on Kiri. Her grin seemed to widen, if that were possible. “And I’d recognize that firetruck-red hair anywhere! Red Riot, am I right?” Kiri shook himself out of his trance and stepped forward with his hand out and his usual smirk. “That’s me! But call me Kirishima, since I’m off-duty!” The comment made the girl tip her head back and laugh as she met his large hand with her small one.
“Well, you’re funny at least.” She said, shooting a look in Shinsou’s direction as if to give him a signal. He shrugged her off, and she redirected her attention back to the awkward pro-hero beside him, releasing his hand in the process. “Have you come to add some ink to that virgin skin of yours?”
“How did you know?”
“Call it a woman’s intellect.”
Shinsou snorted, and dodged just seconds away from being smacked in the face by a flying pen. “Don’t make me angry, or I’ll make your next tattoo your last!” She threatened, although it held no malice in its words.
“Oh! Are you an artist too?”
She looked back to Kirishima with a wicked glint in her eyes. “Oh, I’m the artist to go to, honey. I go by Bambi.” She pointed to a small cardboard sign to her right, and Kiri read the store’s logo for the first time; Bambi’s Ink Corner: For All of Your Good and Bad Decisions.
“So! Since we’ve established that, was there any design specifically I could do for you?”
Feeling more at ease than before, the three of them moved past the bar and further into the parlor, sitting down in plush seats. Shinsou and Kiri sat beside one another, shoulders brushing, with Bambi across from the pair with a sketchbook opened up on her lap and balanced on her knee. Bambi forced Kiri to dictate a majority of the conversation, eyes jumping from her book to the red-haired man as she encouraged him to continue talking about himself, throwing in a few questions here and there. Not even five minutes had passed before Bambi had raised her hand up, halting Kiri mid-sentence. “Okay, I think I’ve got it. Let me know what you think- actually, you come over here. Let’s keep it as a surprise for Sir Stares-a-Lot next to you. Have you even blinked in the past few minutes?” She directed the jab at Shinsou, who rolled his eyes as he looked at Bambi instead, as a light blush dusted his pale cheeks. Kiri, ever so gullible, only blinked in response and moved towards the woman, eyes flitting down to her sketchbook.
Almost immediately, his eyes widened in shock. “Woah! This is amazing!” He gasped, earning a tinkling laugh from Bambi. Shinsou raised a brow at the pair, but kept his lips tight. “Is this for me?” Kiri finally connected the puzzle pieces together, and his face brightened after Bambi nodded.
“We could get the outline done today, and if you decide that you want it colored later on, we can do that too.”
“Y-Yes! That sounds amazing!”
Bambi smiled, and stood from her chair. “Alright! Let’s get started, then. Follow me.”
Kiri could feel the nerves kicking in once more, and he risked a glance at Shinsou, who had already gone back to staring at him. Immediately his ears reddened, but Shinsou didn’t move his gaze. “You’re going to do fine. I’m here for you.” The words probably didn’t mean too much, yet they still had Kiri mentally squealing at how romantic it seemed to sound. Instead, he squared his shoulders and followed Bambi. Shinsou’s shoulder brushed Kiri’s once more, yet Kiri brushed it off as an accident, not realizing that Shinsou liked the warmth that radiated from the red-head’s body. Even if Kiri didn’t realize, Bambi did, and she shot Shinsou a wiggle of her eyebrows.
“Alright, Rock Man. Any specific place you wanted to get this bad boy?”
“Ah… Maybe my back?”
“Back it is, then. Shirt off, stomach down on the table.”
Kiri shot another look at the quiet man accompanying him. Kiri was in fit shape - he worked out constantly, even when it was his day off - but suddenly he felt insecure to show it off in front of Shinsou. After a moment’s hesitation, however, he grasped the hem of his t-shirt and yanked it over his head in one swift movement.
Shinsou had to fight the urge to stare down at the other man's bare torso, and crossed his arms over his chest self-consciously as he risked a glance at the tattoo artist instead. Luckily, Kiri’s face was still hidden in the cloth of his shirt, since the look on Bambi’s left Shinsou with a blush and a stutter. Of course Kiri’s body was well-toned; he was a Pro-Hero of Japan, after all. Compared to his own body, however, Shinsou was a stick. A lanky, lanky stick. Idly, he wondered if Kiri would appreciate his body the same way that Shinsou would. The blush on his pale cheeks deepened.
With the shirt out of the way, Kiri followed Bambi’s directions, arms tucked under his cheek as he rested on his stomach, his toned back out on display for all to see. He shot his purple-haired companion a nervous grin. “This should be a piece of cake, huh?” He laughed, although his voice held the same tenseness his eyes did.
Bambi began prep immediately, slapping on a pair of vinyl gloves and wiping a semi-clear liquid on Kiri’s back. Automatically he jumped up, the coolness of the gel waking him from his own thoughts, and Shinsou smiled at his reaction. “You’ve already got it traced and ready to go?” Kiri asked, eyes moving to Bambi as she sat on a nearby stool, dropping dark ink into a tiny container that was barely the width of Kiri’s thumb. While this was his first tattoo, Kiri had seen enough of his friends get them, as well as the numerous ‘What To Expect…’ videos that flooded his computer. Bambi swung her attention to Shinsou, eyes narrowed, but quickly answered the question. “Of course Shinsou wouldn’t tell you, but I don’t need to. That’s my quirk, sort of; seeing things that aren’t there. So while you don’t see any stencil, I can. All in my mind’s eyes.” She tapped her temple, smirking. “It’s great for a tattoo artist, but not so practical for a Pro-Hero, ya know?”
Kiri breathed out a sigh of relief, yet his shoulders were still tense, especially when Bambi placed her gloved hand on his shoulder in warning. “Ready?” Her voice was light, and came right before the buzzing of the needle. Kiri’s ruby eyes strayed to Shinsou, whose gaze was already trained on the tattoo victim. “Are you ready?” He repeated the question, and after a moment of hesitance Kiri nodded. “I’m ready to roll-” He cut himself off, eyes glazing over as Shinsou’s quirk quickly went into effect. A twinge of guilt rolled through the silent man, yet he clenched his teeth as he remembered that Kiri had asked this of him. “Keep calm, okay? Don’t use your quirk until I say you can, and don’t move no matter what.” Shinsou’s voice was deep, and sleepily Kiri nodded in response, hazy eyes still trained on Shinsou as Bambi began to start. Kiri wasn’t even fazed by the needle as it dug into his skin; instead, a blissed look had overtaken, and a chill ran down Shinsou’s spine as he realized how… dirty his red-haired friend looked at this moment. He repeated his command to Kiri in his mind, tasting the dominance of them, and felt his cock twitch. Don’t you dare, he commanded, glaring at himself. You damn pervert. You’re just helping a friend, so keep your head. He turned back to Kiri, Bambi fixated intently on his back as she worked, and continued to speak softly to the dazed man. “Stay relaxed. What makes you relaxed? You can tell me.”
Although a part of Kiri was lost to Shinsou’s quirk, another part was completely aware of the situation. He knew his body wasn’t responding to him, and knew it was because of Shinsou’s quirk; and he didn’t mind. Not one bit. Partly because he trusted his friend to not cause him any harm, but also because he could stare at his friend so plainly without any worry of being caught. He liked the way Shinsou’s tired eyes stared at him too, unflinching and unwavering. It soothed him. His mouth moved just as the quiet man had asked it to, and Kiri wasn’t sure if the answer was correct or not. “Flowers relax me. Carnations have the best smell, and they remind me of my mom’s house. A warm bowl of ramen with pork. Your eyes. Rom-com movies where…” Kiri’s dreamed-out voice faded from Shinsou’s attention as he froze up, registering the red-head’s words as he leaned forward. His eyes? That wasn’t what he was expecting.
“My eyes? Why?” He asked softly, and Bambi’s eyes flitted to his for a moment before she reabsorbed herself back into her work, tuning their conversation out. Kiri blinked slowly, and a dazed smile graced his lips as he answered. “They’re always so calm. I like that. They make my thoughts go quiet too, and that relaxes me.” His voice was quiet, still holding its usual Kiri-charm, yet more soft somehow. Kiri was always loud, even when he didn’t mean to be. Was that what he meant? That Shinsou’s eyes could quiet him down? Or was Shinsou just grasping at straws?
He shook himself out of his thoughts, ready to talk once more, before Kiri piped up again. “Your face relaxes me, too. Especially when you smile, which you don’t do a lot.” He sighed, his eyes closing for a moment. “I want to make you smile a lot.”
Shinsou felt giddy, which was rare. Was this a confession of sorts? It sounded like one. He wanted to pursue it, so badly that he almost wanted to jab at Kiri until his drunk-like state had spilled all of his emotions, but Shinsou knew he couldn’t do that. It’d be unfair to Kiri, and just imagining that situation happening to himself seemed embarrassing enough. Instead, he pursed his lips, letting a few beats of silence carry that conversation away, before continuing to murmur words of comfort, keeping Kiri under his control.
Kiri, on the other hand, was absolutely mortified.
How could he say all of that?! Oh god, if there had been any moment of his life where he had thought this is the most embarrassing moment of my life, then this would be it. He couldn’t even control what he was saying, yet listening to himself spew out the truth like a water fountain had him mentally banging his head against a concrete wall. And Shinsou’s reaction! It was so blank, shock only registering for a millisecond before it was wiped away. What was he thinking about all of Kiri’s words? Did he not like him in that way? Of course he didn’t… doesn’t. Kiri swore to himself. Why would he? You’re nothing special.
The session went on for at least an hour - Kiri wasn’t sure, but it felt longer than that - until Bambi finally dropped her needle onto the metal tray to her side. She swiped the back of her hand over her glistening forehead. “Okay! Done for the day!” As soon as the words had left her lips, Kiri’s eyes flooded with life once more, and he gasped at the newfound soreness that covered his back. It didn’t hurt, not at all; he compared it to a bruise. A very, very big bruise. Shinsou was right beside him in a moment. “You alright? How’s your head?” The concern was endearing, but all Kiri could focus on was the palm resting on his outer shoulder, as Shinsou’s face reflected back in his mind from earlier. His cheeks exploded in red. “G-good to go!” He shouted a bit too loudly, and practically leapt out of his chair, wincing slightly at the sudden movement.
Bambi, of course, almost threw a fit when he moved, and lightly slapped his bare chest before finishing him up, hiding the new ink with a large black pad and securing it with clear plastic wrap. She explained the care instruction to him, even handing him a print-out of the instructions as she continued to speak, and it was at that moment that Shinsou realized he had no idea what tattoo his friend had gotten. He hasn't strayed from the red-head’s eyes the entire time. He mentally cursed himself as Kiri gingerly replaced his shirt back onto his torso.
“It’s pretty big, so make sure to wash it carefully in an hour or so. Shinsou’s gotcha if you need help, which you probably will. Right?” Her bright eyes strayed to the said man’s and he nodded. “Great. Well, thanks for the business! Head home before it gets dark, okay?”
“Wait! I haven’t paid yet!’
Bambi snorted at Kiri’s response. “Well, of course not. Shinsou already did that.”
Kiri immediately turned to Shinsou, nearly breaking his neck in the process. “But- Why- You didn’t-” He stumbled over his words, and Shinsou grinned. That seemed to shut him up quickly enough.
“Think of it as a belated gift. You’re welcome.”
Kiri’s face bloomed. “Jeez, man. You’re too nice.” He raised his hand to rest on Shinsou’s arm, but paused in mid-air, before deciding to gently fist-bump his shoulder instead. As Kiri headed to the exit, Shinsou cocked his head at him in confusion. From the counter, Bambi sighed. “Ugh. You two, I swear.” She muttered, but before Shinsou could question her further, she rushed forward and practically shoved him out of the shop, promptly locking the door behind him. He grunted at her force, and luckily Kiri had turned around to see what the commotion was about to catch the purple-eyed man. “Woah! You okay?” Kiri asked, and Shinsou fought down the blush that threatened to rise as Kiri’s strong arms wrapped around his thin frame. It was a nice feeling, and Kiri’s body radiated warmth, making Shinsou wish to lean into him more. Hell, after the dazed conversation from moments ago, he almost did. Then he remembered that Kiri hadn’t been in his right mind during the time, and untangled himself from the red-head’s embrace.
“Yes, thank you.” Shinsou’s voice sounded uncomfortably stiff to his own ears, but Kiri didn’t seem to notice as he smiled. “Alright! Well, I was hoping you’d help me wash this bad boy when the time comes, and I’m pretty sure I’ve got the ingredients needed for some pork ramen… For some reason, it sounds really good right now. Are you interested?”
A hesitant lump lodged itself in Shinsou’s throat. Kiri’s apartment. Just the two of them. Was that even a valid question? “Sure. Lead the way.”  Kiri pumped his fist into the air at Shinsou’s response, a beautiful grin spreading across his lips.
“All right! Let’s goooo!” He was practically skipping down the street, and it was only after he had turned away that Shinsou permitted the redness to spread from his ears to his cheeks. Awkwardly, he slapped his palms across them, as if trying to hide his embarrassment. Just friends. He repeated in his head, following the loud man as he tried to calm his racing heart. We’re just friends, and after I talk to him about my eyes, I’ll make sure of that. He doesn’t like me like that.
Shinsou continued to repeat the words in his head, not noticing how Kiri’s own face had heated up in a similar way as he walked. He had been repeating a similar mantra in his head, although the only difference in his was what if he feels the same way?
Kiri planned to get to the bottom of that question over a bowl of pork ramen, whether Shinsou was prepared for it or not.

A few things (unnecessary rambling)
Anime I’ve been watching lately:
Bakemonogatari  (6/15 ep)
Tumblr media
I commend this series for setting itself apart from the rest with its weird Shaft (studio) way of animation. That means a drastic colour palette and style (don’t know how else to describe it), head tilts, and a ton of flashing montages with words. It’s very questionable at times (in terms of morals, the way it appeals to the male otaku base, and the general direction of their characters). I’m not sure how far I’m going to make it with this series. I know it’s popular, has a weird wacky cast of characters, and great performances from all the voice actors involved, but it’s definitely not a “gateway” type of anime. It’s really strange, but it’s also counted as “staple” (a reference to the main girl holding the pencil) in some of the anime community. I might write something more extensive about it later.
Bungou Stray Dogs 3rd Season (7/12)
Tumblr media
This series isn’t “the best” from a critic’s standpoint, but this series is an homage to old authors and puts them in an anime. I don’t read, but I really enjoy the show. I’m going to stop here before I go on about this series. I even run @awkwardbsd.
Dororo (2/24)
Tumblr media
They got a kid! To play the kid! Okay, they’re not really a kid. They’re 13. Great animation so far. MAPPA previously worked on a ton of other good things like Yuri on Ice (which was a collab if I remember correctly). The OP reminds me of American Pop music (far different from your usual anime song). The old art style has evolved so much, yet they still pay homage to the old style in some of the sequences. It’s nice.
Gintama (69/201)
Tumblr media
It doesn’t always hit, but when it does, it hits hard (the humour I mean). It’s weird, vulgar, and a bit out there, but it’s regarded as a classic in Japan and recently gathered popularity overseas.
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (9/26)
Tumblr media
I usually have to watch this when it’s light outside. Kudos to Soichiro Hoshi, Satsuki Yukino, Yukari Tamura, and Mai Nakahara for their performances. This is definitely not your average horror anime. I think episode 8 was definitely the first episode that really scared me. Shion and Mion... they really ended that one on a bit of a cliffhanger.
Kimetsu no Yaiba (3/26)
Tumblr media
This feels a little like Dororo but with a far more “Shonen Jump” way of doing things which involves humour, our young boy seeming a bit older in the anime, and him trying hard while looking like a goof. It was cliche, but it was cliche done right.
Sarazanmai (7/11)
Tumblr media
I feel like I wouldn’t be watching this if it wasn’t for Ikuhara, the seiyuu, and this being a hyped seasonal anime. It’s okay story-wise. It’s really strange. It’s pretty alright and doesn’t feel like a complete waste of time. And that latest scene with Mamo and Hosoya was pretty good if it wasn’t for the fact that I swear I’ve watched both of them act in angsty roles at least 3 times each.
Senryuu Shoujo (7/12)
Tumblr media
It’s plain, it’s ordinary, it appeals to guys who want a plain kind of romance that’s pure while still... appealing I guess. That’s what I get. It’s a poem nerd who falls in love with a former delinquent-kind of guy. She talks in poems. Definitely doesn’t stack up to Kaguya from last season.
Kyousou Giga (1/10)
Tumblr media
This is a really strange story which is kind of on-hold because of how much it seems to have it out for forgetful people like me. They name their characters the same names (okay, they differ in kanji/katakana/hiragana, but I don’t read and that’s only for Japanese people). Besides that, it’s a promising show so far.
The hate anons have slowed. I’m still not happy about the response of the OP saying that I kind of *indirectly* brought it upon myself and wasn’t getting that much hate. I found it to be irresponsible, arrogant, and a lack of moral integrity.

I’ve been typing this with a blistered finger! I had to take a two-week break from bass due to the doctor’s orders post-surgery (nothing serious, just an adenoidectomy). Because of that, I guess my fingers are now wimps on my double bass. I play classical. I was doing a ton of repetitive technique stuff. My finger starts to blister and has one of those bubbles. It hurts, but I persist. I keep going and repeat the exercise around 5-10 times. I go to my study (basically an exercise piece). I do that for about a page of music. I feel it growing in pain, but I’m no wimp. I keep going. I go to my repertoire and suddenly, my hand just slips. I look and see a smear mark. I look at my hand, and it was obliterated. RIP. Here’s to modified typing which got me through this post.

I need to get my hair cut. It’s so fricking long, but I’ve been in hiding from the barber for around 3 years? I don’t wanna go. I’m very sensitive tactile-wise. They always go, “Are you okay?” No. No, I’m not. Oof. I gotta do this eventually.

Hey hey hey, this is the second show I’ve seen ape Osomatsu-san this year. Seriously, no show is safe in a parody as a target for humour’s sake…Note Osomatsu-san is also by Pierrot, though, so they’re attacking themselves to some extent.
Now that they’ve pointed the Osomatsu-san reference though, I can’t believe I didn’t see the scarf colours last time! But…this is episode 5…
Oh, I kind of noticed it, but I’m probably too used to it since I watched the first season of Osomatsu-san – the blue lines are part of that show’s signature style.
Muscovado is apparently a substitute for sugar. It literally translates to “black sugar” though…
Sagami is…a former place in Japan…?
Tama River. I’m terrible at Japanese geography, so I don’t think you should be asking me about this…
Dang, apparently Pierrot is based in Mitaka, Tokyo so whatever joke I was chasing there fell flat.
Wow, they got really self-referential this episode…yikes.
So this is the rumoured Chiba-san? Uhh…
Oh my…I do not see the word “Japanimation” get much mileage at all these days, but I cringe every time I see it.
It’s Pokémon Go! Wow, that’s another level of meta for sure. My hopes for resolving all the stray plot threads while maintaining that wacky sense of humour (or however I phrased it) definitely went out the window…Notice the footage is dated April 24th 20X8, which is about a week before the episode went to air if the X actually hides “2018”.
Suginami. Apparently, Bones, Sunrise and other studios are stationed there…but Pierrot isn’t.
If there’s one thing I didn’t expect in MSO, it’s the fact this show became Shirobako in a sense. I still need to get around to Shirobako, by the way…
Ey, wait a second! Astral, you got your wish! We get to see…Fujimoto’s face!
Whoa! They went all out on the CGI fire effects! What is this show, Golden Kamuy?! (LOL)
Comichiya’s probably Comiket. The katakana (chi -> tsu, to -> ya) look kinda similar if mangled.
Dangit! I missed my mark on the guesswork again! Tokyo Big Sight isn’t in Suginami.
Basically, this is just a long road to admitting they couldn’t do a recap episode, but they don’t have enough content to pad this ep either. Ah, sweet revelations (sarcastic).
Is it just me, or does the bottom of Fujimoto (1)’s face look kind of like…Mohiro??? Wagh??? Update: No, the hair colour’s off.
The “on the train” technically says “on the NEXT train” (emphasis mine).
Wow, they namedropped Ishikawa (probably Kaito)! Ishikawa voices male!Saki, so it makes sense.
Oh my gosh, Mahoutsukai Watashi! What a bold move this show’s taken – it’s telling its own meta-narrative. Which means when I cover it for the collab post…it’ll be meta of meta…that’ll put my head in a spin for sure.
You can see Fujimoto and Sakuyo character designs if you pause for one scene (the one with “staff working from home”).
You can see the name Masayuki Ito (伊藤雅之) on that list with the downward arrows, but I don’t know what significance that name has unless they’re an animator or something...
Mensore is explained here.Basically it’s youkoso in Okinawan.
Jimami Tofu…isn’t tofu, as weird as that sounds. It’s an Okinawan-sponsored drama.
Well, at least this time I got a big epic battle (no matter how short it is). Nothing better than that!
They got Akira Ishida, Tomokazu Seki, Koichi Yamadera and some other guys to voice the Fujimotos this time. Notice there’s no crossover between the Osomatsu-san voices and the Fujimotos, which was probably intentional.
I thought there’d be a real Shinzo Chiba, but there doesn’t seem to be one…
There was a shot of Fujimoto (before the manager)! Wah! Was that there in previous episodes???
Every time people promise wardrobe malfunctions, they tend to…uh, deliver on that…
The Monokubo illustration this time is creepy…I like it!
Yotsuiro Biyori 4
Is this a zombie movie (LOL)?
Wow, Sui really loves cats, doesn’t…he…? (LOL)
Oh, so that weird zombie movie in medias res opening was actually one of those fakeouts…DN Angel’s anime did that, I remember…
Wow, they make Tokitaka so epic in this scene! A determined man is more handsome than one in an ordinary state, don’tcha think?
You can even see rice flying! Amazing! Tokitaka’s got such skill.
I am so spoilt for smol boys this season, between this and Boueibu HK…
Ooh! My eyes have been blessed with the hotness of Tokitaka!
There’s more chicken than usual this ep, eh?
Shiratama anmitsu.
I never thought we’d need a backstory for the resident cat, but okay. It was hilarious and fun while it lasted and now it’s almost over…huh.
Denzou? Eh? (I kinda get why the name’s badass with the kanji involved, but it’s hard to explain to a non-Japanese speaker…)
Agedama.
The next ep title translates to roughly “A Loving Hand for the Lost Lamb”…as in, to extend a hand to it.
Lupin 3 Pt 5 5
Okay, part 5 episode 5 is confusing when it’s just “5 5”, isn’t it?
I think the guy in the green jacket will be important later…? He’s in a key visual for this show, at least.
“This pasta called soba’s pretty good!” – LOL, soba ain’t pasta, y’know…
I’ve learnt about the stack before. Here you go.
IP camera. Hey, I’ve done something on IP cameras before, but normally Detective Conan (and most other mystery shows of the modern day) seem to be reliant on CCTV…
Chicken game…? Sounds tasty!...Not.
Ami doesn’t seem too pleased about all the shooting, LOL.
Even Ami knows bowing is a sign of Japanese respect. Just like how dragons understand the meaning of “Hatori Chise” involves birds…(i.e. I’m kind of skeptical that a real French girl would learn to bow to her Japanese friends when her life is always on the line, a la Ami.)
Episode…1? Y’mean, there’s more adventures, but no Ami? Aw, I was enjoying having her in the fray.
Hinamatsuri 5
A TV? $30??? Wow, I would fight a psychic girl for that! That’s friggin’ cheap!
“Toshibu” (sic), LOL.
Bikkuri means “surprise”, LOL.
“A teacher and a student walk into a bar…” – it sounds like a joke. Not that that could be conveyed accurately in Japanese, though. The fact it even works as an English joke must be a coincidence…
Hitomi’s such a terrible liar! Wahaha!
Nitta’s just like “I’ve given up on this girl”. Either that, or he has a hangover…(LOL)
Sayo looks kind of like Hina. If it weren’t for the hair colours I would’ve mistaken the two.
BnHA 43
Carrying a gun to a fistfight…yep, bad. Plain bad, Mustard, ol’ boy.
Sorry, there was a lot of fighting this ep and nothing much to say!
Boueibu HK 5
LOL, the bald bodyguard…he looks kinda grumpy.
Notice Kyotaro goes “ore kyoumi nai” (I have no interest in it), but the subs missed the subject of the sentence! CR, you weirdoes!
Echire butter…exists!
“You know about genetic testing?” - Irina! I think this is your department!
Ryoma’s the end of the evolutionary line!
Hmm…if there was no Ice Age in Honyara Land…might there have been something else that caused the Furanui/Karurusu conflict? There’s only animosity from one side, after all.
Bunbuku Chagama. Magozaemon was fat, so he would make a perfect teapot/tanuki…
Wait, if Maasa = Ichiro in the age department (roughly 16), that would add up. He went abroad for 4 years and held off on carbs the entire time…yikes.
“The people of this world envy those who represent the opposite of what they fear for themselves, so they criticise and attack them.” – Ooh, Ata makes a lot of sense here…! It’s a quote for the collection.
Asobukoto = It’s not really “fun” per se, but “playing” or “hanging out”. That is, if you translate rather literally.
They’re all underage (roughly 16 – 18), of course they wouldn’t drink! Of course, this is coming from a person who doesn’t drink…the only samples of alcohol I’ve had are few and far in between…
Hey, I studied this stuff in the past, you don’t have to regurgitate this info (about needing food to better absorb alcohol). Lemmee tell you, alcohol ads are weird…
They didn’t make the “glasses fogging up” a weird plot hole. Phew.
Wow, to think I’d be getting a science lesson of things I already know in my Boueibu…I never thought I’d see the day where that happened.
According to this page, one of the things the ramen shop serves is gomoku soba. Wait…that’s right! Ramen’s appeared in this show before! In the Chri-pa episode! Sorry Astral, I gotta spoil s2 for you!
Wow, this chicken carcass is even less of a threat than anything else so far! Wow-hee.
Taishi only seems vaguely fazed about the fact he’s being made to fight monsters. Interesting. I never think about the perspective of the non-red boys regarding fighting monsters until they’re pointed out, really.
So wait, the magic knight of space…makes bubbles? Uh, Astral, you might wanna learn from this…?
Hey hey, I found a page on tonkotsu ramens (sic from the Hakata anime) and paitan ramen.
Kyotaro on stairs = basically my mood when I want to imitate the “draw me like one of yor French girls” meme. (Very badly.)
So…when I said I missed individualised attacks, I never saw this coming. Sorry about that, people. (Even if that was only Ichiro’s bubble attack.)
Kyotaro makes a lot of sense here. But seriously, I think I need Astral’s easy button right now. That was easy.
Notice Karurusu is acting as a pelt…weren’t otters hunted for their pelts?
Oh, Sujikawa’s a first year, huh?
*Sujikawa picks up the boulder* - *round of applause from me* Wow!
Both Maasa and Dougo have such supportive friends, it almost makes me jealous.
The English! It’s…correct! (thinks back to a magazine article with “Difence” (sic) written on it in pink letters)
I, for one, am happy they’re tackling relationships aside from “brothers” this time. Finally, here’s something that stacks up against its competition in regards to deeper themes, even if it is a comedy!
Dougo and Maasa (Magozaemon) were in class 2, if you pause at the right time. Notably, the members of class 2 were all boys, LOL. Even with the boy to the left of Magozaemon, I think that name might be pronounced “Ai” (due to this page), but it’s in manly kanji.

My Life Is Very Shoujo Manga, Chapter 43: Strong first impressions
A new beginner course started sometime around March in 2015. This officially meant two things:
I was no longer a “beginner”; and
There were new beginners (or as the seniors would jokingly refer to them, “fresh meat”) joining the club.
Since we had separate trainings, it was hard to get to know them until the whole club had dinners together after each day of the Shield Competition. Very early on, out of that beginner group, I had a strong impression of two girls in particular.
One girl, on first impression, was so sweet, bubbly and charming; her presence glowed like sunshine. Gwyn really stood out to me for some reason; I couldn't resist coming up to her, with her young and radiant face, cute smile, full cheeks and very curly hair, and pinching her cheeks.
"Oh my gosh,” I stretched her cheeks. “How can you be so cute?!” It was like love at first sight!
"G-ganglord?" she looked up at me with her big, round, dark brown eyes.
"I- who told you..?"
~~~
Then there was this other girl, who was probably lovely too, I thought at the time, but she had an energy I knew I wouldn’t click with...
Whilst generally, one’s first impression of someone should not be taken as the most accurate representation of who someone truly is as person, and I am open to giving people second chances, I can tell quite early whether I’ll get along with someone.
I try not to let that first impression prevent me from getting to know people on beyond a superficial level. But so far, I have never been incorrect about my instincts about someone.
Frank, Mal and I were sitting around were sitting around a table in a more quiet and peaceful part of the party, at the BBQ Fukuda sensei hosted in his backyard. We were talking about how the intermediate course was going, or something where I remember being something a third-party wouldn't be able to contribute, when this girl-- let’s call her... Xandra, loudly and quite abruptly, butted into our conversation.
“Oh YEAH, totallyyy!” She shouted for some reason, in reply to whatever Frank had just said. We looked at her a little uncomfortably and tried to accommodate her into our conversation. “Xandra, by the way!”
“Hi Xandra... This is Frank, Mallory. I’m Amanda. How are you finding the beginner’s course so far? Are you... um, getting along with the other beginners?” It was hard to know what to say to her.
“Yeah, it’s so great! I’m having so much fun so far. Like, kendo comes so naturally to me, for some reason! I don’t know why I...” The worst part was she would say things that came across passionate, but delivered in a really lazy way as if she were trying to act uninterested and casual.
Then she began to talk endlessly about herself, while neither of us were sure what the right reaction was. Girl came in with sooo much energy and clearly could not read a room.
“Oh MY god, like, you guys... You guys are so cool! Like, I never, never usually click with people this fast. You guys are so chill--”
I tried to be understanding and forgiving of her first faux pas... Especially since we were at a party, and she was new and didn’t know everyone there (and perhaps she might have been a tad drunk as well, or at least pretending to so she wouldn’t feel as embarrassed talking to us.) Any of those things seemed understandable.
But as I listened and tried to be polite and accommodating, I felt my energy drain. Xandra had this mismatched energy which exhausted me...
It felt like she overcompensated for her likeability by acting overconfident, which instead of making her relatable, made her the opposite. Whilst it was pretty obvious to me we wouldn't vibe, I tried to stay open-minded whilst keeping my distance from her as much as I could.
The problem would be, for the next few years until recently, that for some reason, despite trying not to be her space, she would continue to appear in mine...
Can you explain the appeal of Kyousogiga?
i just woke up anon but let’s see what i can shit out
for one and the most obvious upon start-up is the visual and directorial style of the show a la being Rie Matsumoto’s debut series. Not only is the artstyle beautiful and very distinct with its designs, the series had an exuberant quickness to how it was cut and how it carried itself. scenes were cut up illogically oftentimes where a stationary proverbial camera would watch a specific stage for an amount of time while the players would simply be teleporting on and off the stage for their lines, in a way monologing a dialogue. and that’s the sort of illogical storytelling that pushes animation to its latent potential. after that the story itself was incredible, which is impressive seeing as how it managed uniquity despite the fact that it’s another Alice and Wonderland derivative. BUT it’s not just an Alice in Wonderland derivative moreso than it is a specific Lewis Carroll poem “A Boat Beneath a Sunny Sky”
Children yet, the tale to hear, Eager eye and willing ear, Lovingly shall nestle near. In a Wonderland they lie, Dreaming as the days go by, Dreaming as the summers die
now i think this is without doubt a set-up for our characters’ situations, or at least the siblings Yase, Kurama, and Yakushimaru. they’ve been waiting in a Wonderland created by the fairy tale images of their father for their parents to return but i think we can go deeper. i think the specifics of it all can be traced back to the medium which Kyousougiga belongs which is anime. if Boat Beneath a Sunny Sky refers to children daydreaming their years away based on the stories they were told, Kyousougiga perfectly captures three of the most pertinent genres surrounding anime (or at least classic anime) to be represented by the three siblings.
Yase lives atop a mountain in a large Western mansion, sipping tea and eating cakes and wearing large dresses and gowns and pastel colors. She lives in the rose-bordered tinted glasses setting of classic shoujo. Her aesthetic perfectly matches those of the Rose of Versailles and Utena, I mean just look at her own design
Tumblr media Tumblr media
she was given purely black eyes covered in what is effectively an image from the fucking Hubble telescope, as it captures that flamboyant charm of the insanely shiny eyes from those classic shoujo series.
Then we move onto Kurama and see obviously he lives in his sci-fi bubble. Men in black suits, surveillance equipment everywhere, a crack team of computer hackers, a mad scientist, and a secret weapon mecha ready to be deployed at any moment. You can even make the case that it also wishes to evoke the classic spirit since the mecha robot Bishimaru gets deployed with the same kind of fanfare you would hear in a classic Godzilla film.
And moving onto Yakushimaru, his might be the most modern and hell, it might even be a commentary about the bleakness of popular modern anime vs the robust joy of popular classic anime and Japanese media. My man’s might have started out as perhaps the contemporary Japanese Shintoist supernatural genre but from the start of the series he’s stuck in his slice of life drama, feeling little fulfillment from the relationship he’s in, and is borderline suicidal. I mean it’s not even borderline really he just doesn’t want to do it himself.
Basically these kids are what are described in the Lewis Carroll poem, through the lens of the classic Japanese anime and media that influence it. These are the more modernized fairy tales which Matsumoto wanted to use to shift the Alice in Wonderland trek we’ve trekked a thousand times already and THAT’S HOW YOU DO IT. when drawing inspiration from something, especially a well as commonly used as Alice in Wonderland, you don’t just pull out the same tired images of the Cheshire Cat, the Queen of Hearts, the Madhatter, etc those things have been done to death. Instead you take the themes of the story, the being lost in an escapist world of fairy tales while you wait on the adults that raised you to sort their shit out, and you modernize it with new and relatable images and then revamp the rest of the story.
see now i’ve over extended myself and look at this. in just describing what is the set-up for some of the main cast and one or two of the major themes of the story, i’ve only even scratched the surface of the tough and chewy brain jerky that is Kyousougiga. Haven’t even talked about the familial themes, the unique representation of God in a medium that does it every other hit, the high quality of the animation and the PHENOMENAL music (one of my favorite soundtracks period, anime or otherwise), any and all of the mythological symbolism it uses throughout, hell even the brilliant voice acting remains to be talked about. That’s basically the appeal of Kyousougiga, and while liking the show itself is highly subjective and I can understand someone thinking it was a confusing mess, the show is deep and shit’s just a fact. You can start from anywhere in the show, start digging and you’ll inevitably find some meaning. It speaks volumes to creating such a focused 10 episode series even when you had a 13 episode time slot. Granted it had a couple years in development to be drafted and created by Matsumoto and her compatriot, so maybe it should be expected that it feels like no part of the series was wasteful, nothing was superfluous in this incredibly flamboyant show. So to me, it’s a masterpiece, I can start thinking about anything in it and just go deeper and deeper until I’ve convinced myself as such, and to me any series that can provoke so much thought, well it’s simply thought-provoking, and those are my favorite kinds of shows.
so that’s the appeal anon
World’s Greatest ‘Mary - Sue’
Chapter 1: Case of Curious Kitty Onodera
((Read First:  Prologue))
The next few weeks passed without much incident. Sapphire's editor in chief still hasn't gotten around to even talking with Meiri or Takano like they had suspected...but that could be due to the fact that the cycle was now just starting to 'ripen'. And NO ONE wanted to be around the Emerald department near the end of their cycle.
"Gah...no wonder you guys start to look like crap at the end of every cycle...these authors are terrible!" Meiri said; terrible meaning they're awful with keeping deadlines and drag the editors every which way. Something in which she and other manga departments hardly ever had to face. Partially why people seemed to avoid the Emerald department around this time every month. "Are all shoujo mangaka this bad?" she continued to gripe. Meiri's appearance actually looked better than the boys'...though not by much. Her eyes looked strained and hair starting to look like she hadn't brushed it for a couple of days. She felt disgusting that she had to pile on deodorant and light body spray to cover the fact that she hadn't had time to bathe. Though...judging by the sad state of her other coworkers, neither did they... "I'm even having to sleep in the study...I can't go to bed with my husband like this," comical tears ran down her face. An equally comical vision came to mind as well: It would be of Meiri's husband with tears running down his own face trying to sleep in an empty marital bed while Meiri quarantined herself in the study. "It feels like I'm punishing him,"
"I'm sure he understands though, right?" Onodera consoled. He himself looking tired as fuck.
"I told him what I've heard, though I didn't think it would be this bad. I have to push him away when he wants to greet me with a kiss because I don't want him to smell me. But yes he understands. He made it through me being an author after all...though I was never THIS complacent..." she ground her teeth.
"How I would've loved to be your editor..." Hatori said slamming his laptop shut and shoving it into his bag. "You'd be far easier to work with than this lazy deadline breaking buffoon I have to watch over...Sorry..but I need to see to an urgent matter regarding said buffoon..."
"Take care," Takano called as he usually does when Hatori must storm away to attend to his troublesome author. "I need a smoke," he said getting up and heading to the smoker's break room. Seemed his intake of nicotine went up toward the end of cycles; though it was completely understandable for someone that took on a lot of stress despite it being sorely unhealthy. Takano made sure to ruffle Onodera's hair as he left, causing the newbie coordinator to snap back at him. Not that the editor in chief cared at all and continued on his way.
Meiri blinked at the small display before her. Onodera made it sound like he hated things like that, but the blush and somber look he had after fussing about it told her otherwise. Oh my... the yaoi mangaka smiled to herself. Perhaps working with the Emerald department might be a little more fun than she thought.
/(^x^)\
The past few days have been a little rough on Ritsu. His curiosity got the better of him and he managed to pick up the first 3 books of Meiri's most recent series. Going to Books Marimo to purchase them was even more nerve wracking. He felt far too awkward to ask for it from Marukawa's archive for very good reasons. Thankfully Yukina didn't judge or make a comment on Onodera's choices, though he'd really only met Yukina maybe once in passing.
He did find that Kisa was hanging around there a lot. Dawdling outside as if waiting for someone.
He was still there when Onodera left and even had a small chat. It turned out that he really was waiting for someone but didn't know who. Only when the conversation seemed to stall did Onodera take his leave. Still curious as to who exactly Kisa was waiting for, but since he wanted to hurry home anyway it wasn't the best time to find out.
Onodera really didn't to even sample a bit of his purchase even after he left the bookshop. Mainly because of what he heard of the content. It's not something you should be reading in public and he still had a train ride and short walk to go. He just thanked his lucky stars that Takano didn't have the pleasure of accompanying him home tonight. Being neighbors, going a night without the two of them walking home together was uncommon, but there was times like tonight when Takano would dismiss him early while he attended last minute meetings.
His curiosity nagged him the entire trip home though. Have I ever been so anxious to try a book out like this before? He pondered to himself. The feeling was similar to someone who'd bought a racy book or magazine and tried to hide that fact from his parents or roommates. Even though at 25, this feeling would be pointless, he still couldn't shake the feeling he was about to engage in something naughty. He ran his hand through his mouse brown hair and took his shoes off at the genkan. Normally he'd be found flat on his face about this time here. But for some reason tonight he was oddly full of energy.
He proceeded to take out a bag of cookies and pour himself a glass of milk. Seems this was dinner tonight. Sitting down on his sofa (after clearing them of his clean clothes), he took out the Books Marimo plastic bag with his new prize inside. Title was: Never Getting Older Vol. 1 with his new coworker's name, Uehara Meiri, adorning the front cover at the bottom. This ran for 3 years with it's last volume released just a few weeks ago. There were even some stickers pasted on the cover boasting Yaoi/BL of the year, Editor's choice, etc. He could understand how Meiri would be nervous about being able to put out another story that could top this one with all its notoriety.
Removing the obi, he began to read it. The tale was about two young men going to an all boys academy. Seemed rather cliché at first. Both boys had come from well-to-do families and such. The supposed seme was more a class clown that loved to pick on who appeared was going to be the uke. Going a little further realized the more feminine character was actually in love with his bully. He quirked a brow at the situation he was reading before him, Who'd fall in love with that jerk?
The next chapter would reveal why he's falling in love with him. Seems seme didn't always used to be like that. Also seemed this 'bully' really only gave so much attention to him because he was trying to deny his feelings for the uke, which led to his lashing out at him. But the uke saw right through him. Now it seemed they were in the library where all the barriers were finally broken; the uke, being pent up with such emotion, blurted out that he loved him trying to get the seme to acknowledge his feelings as well.
Wait a minute...Why do I get a sudden sense of deja vu? Onodera had this sinking feeling in his stomach. But decided to press on anyway. The last chapter of Vol. 1 was the one that made him light up like a red traffic light. Th...they're gonna...do it in the library? This was bringing back some rather daunting memories that settled in the far recesses of his mind until now. IS THIS A THING FOR STUDENTS TO DO?! LIKE A FANTASY OF SOME SORT?!
Of course referring to his own encounter in the library all those years ago. The parallels were uncanny. But now Onodera was getting a sense of what the other was thinking when they decided to consummate in the library. A feeling like, they couldn't hold their raw passion in anymore and he desperately needed the uke's comfort right then and there.
"She writes a desire that builds up to such a hot intimacy that means everything and not just lust...Sex that speaks of love, longing, and trust as if it were the greatest blessing between a couple," Kisa's words from the beginning of the month came back to him then.
"Could...could that have been...what Takano-san was thinking back then?" No...this was just in manga...right?
His heart then began to pound. It pumped so hard he could hear it in his ears. It was his own misunderstanding of Takano's true feelings that broke them apart ten years ago. He honestly didn't know how Takano felt, but now by just reading his coworker's most honored work, he sees into what Takano must've really been feeling back then. Granted their situations were much different, but it still drove the point all the way home.
He continued reading through this sex scene. A scene so full of passion through which it was brilliantly...drawn. Onodera could feel heat rising to his face and lightning surge down to his hips. He saw the seme pleasure his uke in such a manner that his own body began to burn. He reached a scene where the seme tweaked uke's nipples and Onodera could vividly picture the many times Takano did the very same for him. The places Takano touched him burned with even MORE fervor now. Seeing it clearly illustrated and spelled out for him like this made him resonate with the uke. Even down to the blush and losing all senses including common. Almost as if he could literally see himself in that manga.
Uh oh...this is bad... Onodera's heart couldn't stop its racing and pounding. It wasn't long before he realized just how excited he was. The vivid images were stained in his head and they began to go wild. "...I ...I should stop now," he said as he closed the book marking his place with a book marker. He was actually almost done with the first volume anyway. He couldn't understand it, but raw feelings were bubbling up in him after being dormant for a long time and this little first time manga editor was getting more than he bargained for. "Gah, enough...I'm going to bed..." he tried to shove everything back into the recesses of his brain.
It was only when he stood up did he remember there was a part of his body that was craving attention at the moment. "Great...," Onodera said bringing his hand down, shifting to make it more comfortable. A cold shower seemed far too painful to bear at this point. He then blushed at the only other option.
Onodera could hear his heart more clearly as he went to his bedroom drawer to acquire a bottle of lube. He'd never admit in a million years that he kept it there in the case that Takano decided to force his way into his home again. Peeling off his shirt and pants, his mind raced as he was reminded that it's been such a long time since he's done this by himself. His member sprang forth eagerly as he released it from its cotton confines. Taking the lube and warming it in his hands, he began to set to work rubbing out his little 'problem'.
The vivid imagery crowded his mind again. His head started to feel fuzzy. He was even being stubborn in trying NOT to think of Takano...but who else was he going to think about? It just wouldn't work any other way! It wasn't long before he gave up trying to fight it and Onodera's bedroom was now being filled with his sounds of ecstasy as he pumped. Small moans escaped him as now he couldn't do anything but think strictly of Takano and their time in the library. Then the image would shift to a memory of ten years later being sucked off in his own genkan...then making love in Takano's car. All these memories he tried to shove away as being bad and trying to forget them. But it felt too good to ever forget them right now. Not that he'd ever admit that of course.
"A-ah...Takano-san! Nnn!" he cried as he released.
/(^x^)\
Takano sighed heavily as he finally made it to the final steps leading to his apartment. He stepped into his door and put down his bag. He actually had something he had to tell his neighbor...even though said news could wait til morning. But this was Takano and he liked to have any excuse to bug Onodera. I'll just ring his bell once just to see if he's still awake, if he doesn't answer I'll leave him be...
With that he strolled down the hall to 1202. Before even touching the doorbell, he heard a yell come from within. "Onodera?" this made his heart jump and he hit the doorbell actually starting to gain concern. He then heard movement in the form of rushing about. "?"
When Onodera answered his door, he seemed out of breath. "I...I was just seeing if you were still awake," Takano clamored for his loss of words. "Are you okay?"
"Oh...um yes..." Onodera responded with what looked like a nervous look on his face.
"Are you sure? Your shirt is inside out...as well as backwards," come to think of it. It looked like he'd hastily thrown some clothes on from Takano's point of view. His pants were even undone.
"Eh? ...Ah!" Onodera shot as he looked down. "I...I was in the bath!"
"Liar, your hair is still oily. And you're not exactly wet..."
"Erm..um.." normally Onodera could respond with a snarky remark and try to tell him off. But he...just couldn't find it in him at the moment. Instead he gave a look that was reminiscent of the young, nervous, kawaii little bean that Takano once knew.
"Are you sure you're okay? I thought I heard you yelling..." Takano asked a bit more perturbed at this point. Why does he look so nervous? He's only talking to me... It was then all pieces were coming together. Unbuttoned pants, clothes look thrown on, face flushed, and that all knowing expression that exposed his true feelings for him. Takano closed the space between them putting an arm over Onodera's head against the wall.
"Oi, what were you doing without me?" Takano said in a sultry voice bringing Onodera's hand up to his nose as if to kiss it. This allowed him to catch a whiff of Onodera's essence and lube still lingering on his hand. "Mmm you were thinking of me, weren't you?" Takano said feeling the fire in his own loins.
Onodera had lost the will to fight him back in his own bedroom. He was swept away by his own damning thoughts of Takano. Before he knew it, Onodera was in Takano's bed having his body tenderly lavished by the man in his fantasies.
"Hm? Ah...hhhh…" What did that manga do to me?! I can't fight him! Not that he ever could fight him. The only difference was he had a head start this time.
"I should've gotten off early with you. If only I knew you needed me this badly," Takano's baritone voice purred into his uke's neck helping him back out of his clothes. Kisses going to suckling and back making Onodera tremble with pleasure.
Onodera may have had a head start, but just picturing his little subordinate pleasuring himself was sending Takano to meet him halfway. "You'd have to let me watch one of these days…"
"Sh….shut up…" was all the little blushing tsundere could muster up.
Author Remarks
I think I might be having too much fun here XDD Poor Ricchan! Though I've always wondered what would've happened if they all actually tried a Yaoi just like Nakamura-sensei's herself, don't you? But I suppose that'd be too easy and would probably cause an early end to the story ^^;; Next target might just be Takano! Let's see how many curious kitties I could make out of them! Stay tuned!
