PRE-FROSH (CHAPTER ONE)
This story is a sequel to "Dad's New Life."
I was prepared to take a good amount of teasing, and maybe more, this weekend. But the guys in the Sig Ep house were cool, I had to admit.
I didn't think I was going to be able to visit. But my older brother Connor swore to my parents he'd keep a hawk's eye on me and keep me from drinking or doing anything I shouldn't. I got along OK with my brother, but growing up he was always kind of bossy, taking advantage of being three years older than me and more of the popular kid in school.
He was still that guy, only now I'd grown up, taller than Connor now, and had really bulked up. I'd say it was basketball and lacrosse, but a lot of it was just obsessively working out and keeping my growing teen body fed with enough protein to put on muscle. I still had a young face - and I had a good idea it would be a while before I could pull off a fake ID - but I was starting to get a strong build for my 6'3" frame.
I now sat in a big sofa in the rec room of the fraternity house, watching some dumb TV. Connor plopped himself next to me with a knowing grin. He had two beer cans in his hand and offered me one. "Not a word to Mom and Dad, Squirt," he admonished.
"Course not," I said, gratefully taking the beer. I took a few sips. It was cheap beer but I didn't care, I loved it.
"Hey O'Brien," one of the brothers said. Alan I think his name was. A senior and a stocky, goofy dude who I discovered was one of Connor's close buddies in the house. The Four Musketeers they called themselves, and Alan was the crudest of the bunch. "Is the pre-frosh gonna partake of Mike's services?"
I wondered if Mike was a drug dealer or something. I figured my older brother wouldn't be into anything too wild. He was the studious one in the family.
Connor got an uncharacteristically shy look. "Dude, it's my baby brother we're talking about."
"I'm not a baby," I objected. I'd turned 18 a couple weeks earlier.
This fraternity brother just gave me a sly wink before turning to my brother. "Like your brother doesn't get his dick wet. The young dude's a fucking lacrosse player fer Christsake."
Fuck, they were talking about sex. With a dude. I smirked, and Connor laughed when he turned to see my expression. "You don't even know what you're grinning about, Jase," he teased.
I shrugged, showing off as much teen bravado as I could. "I figured if it wasn't fun, you wouldn't be acting like I wasn't ready for it."
I could sense my brother was frustrated, cause he didn't object or act bossy, he just gave me a pale grin. "All right. Just remember. No talking about what happens this weekend. Promise?"
"Yeah, dude," I said, annoyed. "I fucking promise."
It was a half hour before Mike showed up. I heart his booming baritone voice coming down the SigEp house steps to the basement before I saw him. I don't know what I expected, but the guy was older, a lot older. Like, dad's age. And buff as hell. He didn't quite look like an ex-athlete, not like Coach Carson, but he was big and beefy and muscular, more of a gym-pumped build, but he clearly took real good care of himself. He wore a snug polo shirt and faded jeans and had a Chicago Bears ball cap on. His shirt was all filled out with huge pecs and big guns. I had jerked off to some bi and gay porn, maybe more than I'd like to admit. I never thought of myself as into older dudes, but something about this guy got me going.
Particularly since I was putting two and two together and realizing this buff older man really was somehow providing some kind of services to the fraternity brothers. Maybe just a handjob or something, and I wondered if he was actually a fucking hooker the way the guys acted so nonchalant.
"Hiya, fellas, how's it hanging?" he asked, giving Dale a fist bump. Dale was another one of the Four Musketeers.
"About six inches soft," Dale wisecracked.
It may have just been banter, but this was not what I was expecting for my pre-frosh weekend on campus.
Mike gave a soft chuckle and looked around. "Same room?" he asked.
"Yeah," Alan replied. "We set it up to make it extra comfy for ya."
Mike smirked but didn't take the bait of the taunt. He just asked. "Who's first?"
"Let the prefrosh have first dibs," said Kyle, a sophomore soccer player who had a whole stoner vibe about him.
I looked over at my big brother Connor, like he was going to object. He just shrugged in a "you wanted it," kind of way.
So I acted like I wasn't some dumb young high schooler and stood up. I felt the guys' eyes on me, almost giggling.
I followed the big guy up the stairs and down the hall. I don't know whose room we were using... one of the brothers', but Mike seemed at home, like he came here regularly. As we stepped in, I started to get nervous, my bravado going right out the window. The man caught on.
"I've not seen you around the house before," he said.
I stood awkwardly in front of him, shifting on my feet some. "I'm just visiting," I explained. "I'm still in high school actually," I added, then immediately regretted it. I was probably blowing my chance for a handjob right then.
But the man didn't seem fazed. His blue eyes twinkled beneath the brim of his ball cap and a smile formed on his handsome face. Up close I could now see the silver flecks in his stubble and for some reason I found that really hot. "Is that right, buddy?" he asked. "Not too young for me are ya?" he asked. Kind of flirty in his question.
"No sir," I replied. Feeling dumb for calling him that. "I'm a senior... just turned 18 a couple weeks ago."
He nodded with that sexy smile of his and now openly looked me up and down. "You're big for 18... you lift regularly I bet."
"Yessir," I said. I wished to hell my parents hadn't instilled that deference to elders thing in me so hard. I probably seemed like an idiot to this guy. "I'm a typical jock, I guess. Hoping to get a lacrosse scholarship somewhere." God, I was blabbing now.
"Nice," was all the guy said and like that he was crouching down in front of me. I'd lost any chub I had with the nervousness and the small talk, but now I knew instantly I wasn't gonna have a problem getting hard. I felt that horny tightness in my chest and throat as I watched this hunky guy get in position and run his hands along my legs.
Mike looked up at me. I tried to gauge his age. Late 40s to mid 50s. He was well preserved for sure, but also had a tan that made his face look more ruggedly handsome. "I bet you get a lot of attention from men."
I shook my head. "I wish," I replied. It was refreshing to be honest, even if I didn't even know this guy.
Mike's paw now massaged the growing boner in my shorts. "Just send out the signals, stud, and I can guarantee you'll get as much attention as you want." It was wild to hear his words in such a deep baritone of a voice, the Chicago accent thick as hell.
"Signals?" I asked. In addition to a handjob, maybe I could get some advice for hooking up. If I had the guts to back in my small hometown.
"Yah," he explained. "Eye contact, body language. Letting a guy know you're open to his advances." His fingers were now undoing my shorts. "I wasn't sure about you, actually. You seem the shy type."
"I've never done anything like this," I admitted.
"Na? Ever have your cock sucked, buddy?" he practically growled.
I shook my head. My heart pounded more. Maybe this was gonna be more than a handjob.
I watched as he pulled my shorts and underwear down. My cock flopped out, hanging in midair for a second before it bounded up into a hard upright position. I was hornier than I realized.
"Hot damn!" Mike gasped. "Cherry and hung as fuck." His hand wrapped around my meat, sending shock jolts of pleasure to my balls. The man's eyes seemed fixed on my dick. "Hell of a cock you got, buddy," he said. Then looking up, he asked, "You Connor's brother?"
"Yeah," I replied. Blushing some. I guess I figured Connor partook of Mike's services, but this was crazy to think about. My dick enjoyed the idea of my big brother getting sucked, though. It jerked in Mike's mitt.
He returned his attention to my crotch. "I could tell. Though you're even bigger than him.... fuck!" He paused and licked his lips. "God, I love virgins."
And like that I watched, almost as if in slow motion, as this middle-aged hunk leaned in and started taking me into his mouth. He used his mouth to wet me down at first, just an inch or two, but it felt incredible. Pleasure but also the novelty of sensation. I'd not been entirely truthful. I'd fucked a couple of chicks, that drunk fumbling at parties kind of fucks, and I'd dated one girl who let me feel her up and she'd give me a handjob. THIS, though, was another world. Mike knew what the fuck he was doing.
The kicker was when he pulled back a second and took in a breath then swallowed me all in one go. His throat felt snug and tight but it was the nastiness of the action which caught me off guard.
Not as much of a shock thought as a voice in the room.
"How is he, Pre-Frosh?" It was Craig, a fit, muscular junior, a kind of typical popular frat dude. The fourth guy in the Four Musketeers group my brother hung out with. I'm guessing he was sent in to keep an eye on things and make sure I was OK.
"Fuck," I gasped. Switching personalities now that I was trying to impress one of Connor's brothers. "Dude knows how work a cock."
Indeed, as I spoke Mike was bobbing up and down on me with slick sounding mouth strokes, his spit running down my balls.
I got a better view of Craig as he stepped up. He always wore his longish dirty blond hair under his ball cap and I saw his cute-handsome face examine my own. "You gonna nut soon, bro?"
I shook my head. "I could. But I want this to last." It was my first time out, and once I got over the fear of a quick trigger I'd settled into enjoying the rising and cresting pleasure without quite orgasming. Though I felt it could come any second now.
"You up for sharing?" he asked. Cautious. I had a sense if it was any other brother, he would have butted right in. But I was Connor's kid brother.
I pulled back and we both laughed as Mike tried to follow me, latching his lips on my meat before I finally broke free.
Craig was already pulling down his sweatpants to reveal his hard dick. He was regular sized, with a good looking cut cock. I enjoyed seeing it but also was proud I outmeasured this college bro.
"Hot," Mike gasped as he moved from his crouch to a kneeling position. Craig played host by offering a folded towel for his knees. The man pulled off his ball cap and tossed it aside. His hair was short and showed a good bit of gray on the temples, but he had enough length on top to give that matted-tousled look from his cap. Mike was still in his polo and jeans and his muscle looked pretty amazing as he scooted toward Craig.
"Fuck yeah," the fraternity brother grunted. "Suck my fucking cock dude."
Craig's eyes were down on Mike, eagerly watching the big guy do his work. Craig's smaller size meant Mike could go wild, battering his own throat with hard and fast movements of his skull.
I didn't know where to keep my eyes. On Mike and his slutty thrill in sucking cock. Or on Craig, who was clearly responding to the sexual stimulation in his face and whole body.
Craig finally reached down and held Mike's head, steadying it and slowly pushing him off.
"It's O'Brien's turn," he said with a chuckle. "I know you like the big ones, Mike," he added.
"I do," the man admitted without shame. He gave Craig's tool one more lick then watched as I stepped up to where Craig had been.
Somehow his BJ now had warmed him up for me. It wasn't just the deep throat that got me off. It was the swiveling motion of his head and the milking suction. Involuntarily I gripped the sides of his head to brace my body.
"Oh SHIT!" I cried. I was entering orgasm now, one that put my previous ones to shame. I saw white for a second and felt light headed. Like Mike was sucking out my consciousness along with my cum.
I heard Craig laughing. "Go for it, bro!" Then. "Niiiccce."
Mike finally spat out my prick. "If you want seconds, stud, you know where to find me," he winked.
Craig meanwhile was practically pushing me out of the way, eager for his turn, his dick reddened and leaking in excitement. "Tell the next guy he's up," he said as he thrust back in between Mike's wet lips. "It won't take me long."
I found my shorts and underwear and put them back on, taking one more view of Craig, who was actively fucking the big burly dude's face.
Everything about this was so crazy and so exciting. A couple of the guys on the team had bragged about gangbanging Kelsey Myers, but I think they were bullshitting. And here was an out-there gangbang happening in my brother's fraternity house.
I was still flush and breathing heavy when I returned to the den. "Who's next?" I said, as I plopped next to my brother on the couch and picked up the beer can, which hadn't warmed up too much. I took a sip of the cheap watery stuff, which for whatever reason tasted like the best goddamn beer I'd tasted.
I could tell Connor was watching me, trying to read me. I turned to him. "What, bro?" I asked, maybe acting more annoyed than I was.
"You OK, Jase?" he asked in a low voice.
I nodded. "Why wouldn't I be?" I said, trying to play it cool. "That was awesome."
He paused and took a sip of his own beer. "You won't mind if I go in there soon?"
"Fuck no," I said, getting the courage to make eye contact with my brother. We were two O'Brien men experiencing the same cocksucker. It was a strange bonding experience for sure. "I'd feel bad if you didn't on my account."
Indeed Connor's turn was next and he got up off the couch, a boner already forming in his sweats. I had never thought of my big bro like this, but indeed he had a pretty big tool.
He was gone about ten minutes. Good for him. When he came back he was flush like I was, the Irish genes making his cheeks rosy pink after sex. I could tell he was embarrassed to have done that with me there, and I enjoyed being the laidback one for a change.
"Seriously, bro," I whispered. "Thanks for letting me do that. You know, for not getting all protective and shit."
He shrugged. "Just don't tell Mom and Dad," he warned.
"What the fuck would I tell them?" I said with a chuckle.
Connor laughed. "You got a point there."
We were watching some dumb MTV reality show, but mostly my attention was on the brothers as one by one they got up to go partake of Mike's services. Alan might have been the last to do so, and when he came back he asked, "Anyone up for seconds?"
I heard the guys laugh as I stood up.
"Pre Frosh is going back!" cried one of the guys. I hoped I wasn't embarrassing Connor or anything, but I had tasted the forbidden fruit and wanted another bite while I still had the chance. I ignored the taunts and made a beeline back to that room.
The door was ajar and I pushed my way in. I saw Mike's polo shirt before anything else. It was on the floor, a few feet away from where that folded towel was, and his discarded jeans.
The man was lying on the bed, face down and ass up in a dreamy quiet repose. I underestimated how muscular he was. That ass alone jutted up in two round hard globes and his back dipped down then swelled up in an amazing mass of lats and rear delts. The back was tanned and totally smooth, a contrast to his pale but furry buns.
I was taking off my shorts and underwear when Mike turned and looked over at me. "I was hoping you'd come back, buddy," he said in his deep soft voice. "You eager for the full ride?"
I wasn't the brightest guy I suppose but it was dawning on me what he meant. At least one of the brothers had fucked him and Mike was now asking me if I wanted to fuck him too.
"Yeah," I said. Like it was a normal occurrence for me. My dick was rock hard again and I fisted it a little.
Mike gave a smile as he watched me get closer to the bed. "Damn, I'm gonna feel that in me good, aren't I?"
Somehow he knew how to be flirty as hell in a masculine way that got me rock hard. Before this weekend I would have imagined I'd enjoy having sex with one of Connor's fraternity brothers instead. Living out some SeanCody or CorbinFisher fantasy. But this older guy was pushing my buttons big time.
"Yep," I said, trying to act cocky like Craig or the other guys had. Only I didn't know where to start when it came to fucking. Surely it wasn't as easy as in the porn videos.
Thankfully Mike seemed to read my hesitation. "Just climb on buddy. Daddy's all lubed up for that big monster."
I wasn't sure what I thought of the daddy thing. But this man was so hot and so clearly in heat, humping the bed some and hiking his meaty ass up for me as I got onto the mattress.
His muscle felt warm beneath me as I stretched my body on top of his, trying not to put all my weight down on him, but just enjoying this. It was so different than fucking a chick, the complete lack of hesitation as Mike reached back and gripped my tool long enough to guide me in place.
"You have an amazing body, stud," he hissed. "Hot fucking high school senior."
My prick felt the wetness of the lube. Then as I pressed in past his recently fucked folds, I knew it wasn't just lube. I'd heard the phrase sloppy seconds of course but it was insane how sloppy Mike's ass felt. Tons of fraternity cum awaited my dick as I bored inside him. I knew not to just ram it in him, and in a way I savored the slow inching in and the way the man's cuts clung to me.
"You have a great body, too, Mike," I said, now letting my chest press more against his back muscle. A thought occurred to me. "You let guys do this a lot?" I asked.
He leaned his head back up against my neck. It took me a second to realize he was moving his ass back against my hips too, doing some of the work to penetrate his ass with my long cock. "Yeah, I do," he replied, matter of fact. "That bother you, buddy?"
"I don't know," I said truthfully. "I guess it's kind of hot.... thanks for letting me do it."
Mike let out a deep growl. "Anytime buddy... that dick of yours feels AMAZING."
I sawed some inches in and out then decided to go for it. Sending my hips forward I pressed all the way inside him. I'm thick and long and I know Mike really felt that.
"Oh FUCK YEAH, buddy!" he grunted, pushing his chest up a little as if to challenging me to press him back down to the bed. I did, accentuating my movement with another thrust into him. "Love that horse meat ya got."
I would have loved this anyway. Losing my virginity with a man. Having my first ass fuck. But Mike was gonna spoil me, I knew. The man just loved sex and his love was infectious. I held on to his shoulders and started fucking. Not hard but with a steady deep pump. Maximizing the pleasure on my cock but also aiming for that vocal response from him.
"Take that dick, man," I growled in his ear as my hips now worked faster. Mike was bigger and more muscular than me but I had the leverage position to hold him steady while I nailed him, as well as the sex adrenaline pumping in my veins.
I worried I was going too hard, but the harder I nailed him the more he seemed to get into it.
"GODDAMN! High schooler fucks like a porn star," he growled.
I worried the brothers could hear us mate. Then I hoped they could hear everything. I was riding that excitement of my first piece of ass, and I was rising to the occasion. I now knew why my lacrosse buddies were so excited by pussy, but this was even better.
His ass was slick and I could feel the wetness along my cock and balls and had a good idea all that cum was frothing up his furry crack. A few of the fraternity brothers had fucked and bred Mike's hole. Connor was probably one of them, I thought.
That idea I was fucking on my brother’s load made my balls tighten immediately. "Holy fuck," I gasped, my cum working up real quick. A part of me wanted to slow down and enjoy this more. That part of me lost out, though. I held on tighter to Mike's beef and just went to town, cumming deep inside the man's guts.
"Get it, buddy!" Mike cried, eager for my seed. I had no idea if he was going to get off. Maybe he did earlier. Right now it was just about my spurting prick and my pure need.
I rode out the cum and finally slowed my roll, now kissing along the man's neck and feeling up his body.
"Hmmm," the man muttered. "You sure that was your first, Stud? You fuck like a champ."
"Yeah," I chuckled. "Hell of a first time, too," I said. "I'm gonna remember this one for a long time."
"I'm glad, bud," he said. "Damn... it feels like I got a baseball bat wedged up inside me."
"Sorry... I can pull out," I said.
"Don't on my account," Mike said, softly, almost shyly. "I mean, I figure an 18 year old jock has another in the tanks, right?"
My dick wasn't going soft and while I wasn't 100 percent sure I could come again soon, I knew I wanted to get as much Mike time as I could. It might be a long time before I had a chance to fuck a man again. "Yeah," I replied.
I humped him some more, before Mike asked if I wanted to try some other positions. We didn't do them all, maybe, but I had a good number of firsts that afternoon. Missionary, cowboy, reverse cowboy, standing. But we finished in doggy, which might have been my favorite.
I felt like a total stud when I finally dismounted and saw how much cum I'd added to Mike's hole. I gave his rump a gentle pat which made the man laugh.
He watched as I got dressed again. "You around town for long?" he asked.
"Just the weekend," I said.
He grinned and looked me up and down. "If I give you my number, will you hit me before you go?"
This is not how I expected my college visit to go. "Hell yeah," I said.
Mike slid out of bed, his beefy body looking amazing all naked and some wiry silvery hair in his chest fur. His dick was pretty soft but I could see the trickles of fresh cum dripping down the insides of his hairy thighs. He found his wallet and fished out a card to hand me.
It read “Daddy Mike” with a phone number, Insta and Twitter handle and OnlyFans URL.
"Are you a porn star?" I asked in surprise. I now felt like a small-town hick for sure.
"Just like to have a little fun," he said. "If you're the jealous type don't look me up online," he said. "A couple of dudes learned that the hard way." He seemed weirdly apologetic to be warning me.
"If what we did just now was a 'little fun' I'd hate to see a lot of fun," I joked.
"The weekend is still young, Pre Frosh," he winked.
I was a little lightheaded and thirsty when I got back to the den. A couple of the guys razzed me for taking so long and I notice Kyle and some other dude get up to go into together.
Connor seemed quiet, not pissed off but in a strange mood. Later, after dinner, we found ourselves sitting alone. My big bro decided to check in with me.
"I guess I shouldn't have been so worried about you with Mike," he said. An edge to his tone, like maybe he didn't approve. I don't know.
I sighed. "I'm gonna call him up tomorrow, you know, go hang out with him." It was a weirdly euphemistic way to say I was gonna fuck Daddy Mike again.
That hit my brother the wrong way. "Come on, Jason. I'm supposed to be watching out for you."
"Dude, it's gonna be fine," I countered. I didn't know if I could convince him of that, or if he needed convincing. Maybe he just felt guilty things had gotten out of hand.
"You know," I added. "I'm into dudes, Connor."
"Clearly," my brother laughed. OK, he wasn't THAT pissed off at me if he was joking around.
That made me laugh, too. "I mean, like, I know that's what I want. I'm gay."
"Oh," he said. "That's cool." Then, "you know I still worry about you, Jase. It's what brothers do."
"Yeah," I conceded. I shot him a wry grin. "And thanks, bro. I wouldn't have it any other way."

I've been reading a lot of discussion recently about whether Ed made enough amends from 2x05 onwards: if his nonpology should count, if his probation lasted long enough, if he showed enough regret for the trauma he caused the crew etc.
To me personally, the answer is yes. I think it was handled quite well, and I don't need to see 10 eps of him grovelling. Admitting he wants to make amends but not quite knowing how, reconsidering his past behaviour, letting Lucius push him off the ship, "sorry about your leg", listening to what people (Fang, Stede) tell him, trying to move away from the Blackbeard-persona and piracy in general - those felt real and meaningful.
Is that enough? Well, I think the answer becomes very clear when looked at in the context of the show and the themes of guilt/forgiveness in other characters.
First of all: Izzy. Who sold Ed, Stede and the crew out to the English and used the English navy's power to assume a captaincy he didn't earn on his own merit. Who played a crucial role in Ed's mental breakdown and following murder-suicide attempt. While of course Ed is responsible for his actions towards the crew, Izzy has very deliberately and on purpose used every trick in the book to replace the soft, open, heart-broken "namby-pamby" with the Blackbeard of old. He may not have wanted the deranged Kraken, but he did want the brutal, vengeful, merciless pirate who risks his crew's life on a regular basis to raid ships, to drive them hard, and, well, be a proper pirate captain with all the violence that entails. Even in the most sympathetic reading of Izzy, where he acted out of a misguided sense of protectiveness or whatever, he fucked up big time.
Izzy has never uttered a word of apology (or nonpology) to the crew. Or openly acknowledged his hand in Ed's transformation mid-1x10 (which all happened in Ed's private quarters) to them. He never apologised to Fang for the shitty way he treated him even before Stede Bonnet came into his life. Or to Lucius for being a homobphobic dick to him. Or to Stede for trying to kill him multiple times. He didn't thank the crew for risking their lives to keep him alive.
He is never made to wear sackcloth and a catbell ashes.
Instead, he earns his redemption incrementally through his actions: he keeps Ed from firing into the mast (thus saving all their lives at the last minute). He keeps Ed's (presumed dead) body on the ship. He accepts Stede's presence in Ed's life and helps him become a better pirate. He He opens up and shows vulnerability during Calypso's Birthday. At the very end, he apologises to Ed and acknowledges the pain he brought him.
Is that enough? It certainly is to the narrative. It kind of is to me.
But the important point is that he is redeemed because the people in the show - Ed, Stede, the crew - decide that he is. They choose acceptance, cooperation, kindness and belonging over grudges, punishment and bitterness.
This show doesn't expect characters to deliver pitch-perfect, PR-approved apologies or self-flagellation or a tit-for-tat reckoning of all their sins in order to be deemed worthy of redemption. It expects them to move on. To change. To try.
(I meant to talk about the narrative's treatment of Stede as well here, but I think this is quite long enough already and it wouldn't change the main point).

Day 25: Another Banner Year - Set after "Our Town", before "Anasazi": Melissa shows up at her sister's apartment, demanding a few answers.
Day 26: I Saw Your Face In A Dream - AU where Mulder and Scully meet on karaoke night at a bar.
Day 27: Christmas With You By My Side - Sequel to day 22 "Cookie Theft And Other Crimes" but can be read as a stand-alone: What happens when Mulder wakes up with Scully in his arms?
Day 28: The Truth Is (Not) Found In A Glass of Whiskey - All Mulder wanted to do was drop off a report. Now he has to deal with a drunk Skinner.
Day 29: Glass Half Full - Sequel to "The Truth Is (Not) Found In A Glass of Whiskey": It's the morning after and Skinner wakes up with a hangover - and remembers way too much from the previous night.
Day 30: Feelings You Can't Hide - A post-ep for "Bad Blood" obviously. A jealous Mulder, an attempt at humor and the hint of angst may be found here.
Day 31: Trick or Treat - IVF arc, angsty fluff: They're supposed to go to the Gunmen's Halloween party, but there's something they need to make sure of first.

Stay By My Side Ep 6 soft D/s elements
Tumblr media
This episode, Jiang Chi and Bu Xia hits some bumps. It's classic bumps, but it's unique to them, which is what makes it interesting.
So we start the episode with Bu Xia accusing Jiang Chi of causing their relationship to be misinterpreted. Right off, I heard people checking out with this scene. It didn't make sense to them, but I've been like this. My first kiss was actually a girl, initiated by me, and then I completely flipped my shit on myself. Sometimes there is just a war inside you that you have to fight. For me, it was society and for my daughter it was her own "normy expectations."
Jiang Chi is understandably confused. However, if you pay attention, this is where I really see Dom in him. He isn't in it for just the rewards, he is trying very hard to meet the needs of his skittish sub baby. Now, I will say that the D/s element are very soft, but they are still there. I often hear comments about D/s and age. Lifestyle is different from scene and many cultures, especially Asian, have a natural inclination towards a D/s aspect. I actually explain why this is, but I can't link it because assholes keep reporting my posts. *I can literally hear my daughter going, "Mom, your ADHD is showing, back on topic."* Sorry!
The interview cracked me up. Jiang Chi says yes, and Bu Xia says no. Guess who won? Bu Xia, looks at him but backs down. The way Jiang Chi looks at Bu Xia when he is talking is so cute. At this point, Jiang Chi just thinks that Bu Xia doesn't want everyone to know yet, and he is okay with that. He doesn't let Bu Xia say they aren't dating, but he doesn't confirm that they are either. Compromise.
Notice the clear and precise. "There is no misunderstanding. I meant what I said."
Tumblr media
gif credit to ueasking
Bu Xia's dreams are telling him what he wants, but he isn't ready to deal with it yet. Him falling off the side of the bed is my favorite thing because, I think, we've all done it. 🤣🤣🤣
The more I watch, the more I think that Jiang Chi is playing the long game. He is too aware of Bu Xia's confusion and is too understanding of it, and yet at times he reels him in.
Jiang Chi has learned the best way to handle Bu Xia is with the reward system. "Help me with dishes/wait for me, and I'll bring you late night snacks."
Bu Xia is cute, but he clearly isn't ready for self reflection or owning his own responsibility. Notice how everything is all Jiang Chi's fault. Not that I don't do the exact same thing with my husband, but that's besides the point. I'm just stating the facts about Bu Xia. 😈
I honestly adore the basket ball team. Their teasing is light-hearted and meant to showcase an acceptance. Because everyone but Bu Xia can see it. He is a coconut.
This next scene is very D/s. The brat talks back to the team captain when told that he has to wash Jiang Chi's stuff. Captain immediately grabs Jiang Chi and puts him in front to handle the brat. Notice the firmness of Jiang Chi when addressing this. He isn't yelling, he isn't even being rude, but rather using a tone and logic to indicate this is a line. Bu Xia didn't even think of doing anything but accepting. And there is a that reward system again. Jiang Chi rubs Bu Xia's head, essentially saying, "Good Boy."
The hilarity of the water bottle scene after basket ball practice. Again, I love the basket ball team. The uniform washing scene that turned into let's see how wet we can get each other was impossibly cute. I don't want to hear the phrase "boys will be boys" unless we are talking about a scene like this. That's the kind of boys will be boys behavior that I can get behind.
The whole next scene is my everything. First, the explanation of the uniforms. Then the kiss. The wash clothe coming down to cover Bu Xia's eyes. The initial gentle kisses from Jiang Chi, to more once Bu Xia shows acceptance. Sighhhhh, it was so cute.
Tumblr media
Now we are at the point where Bu Xia has got to be getting whip lash from his own brain. You can see his amusement and happiness at all the pictures "deadlock" (by the way, it took me forever to get the joke behind that. That it's their names. I'm so stupid.) Bu Xia is clearly pleased at Jiang Chi taking a secret picture of him. Then he sees the comments and it flips his switch. Now he is back to questioning himself.
And it's all downhill from there. His basket ball teammates are trying to gently push him in a direction. They push too much, though. Leading to a huge misunderstanding for Jiang Chi. Who in his feels pushed too hard. Causing us to end in angst. We have 10 episodes in total and this was only number 6!
Hope you guys enjoyed this! As always, thank you for taking the time to read. 💜💜💜

LITA Ep 3 Rewatch Thoughts
Hi friends! Here we are at ep 3, and these posts are getting longer by the episode so grab a lil snack and some water if you want <3 I had to make a part 2 because the number of images got to be too many (linked here and below)
The opening continues to slap (plus I think I've listened to it enough times I think I can sing along with the chorus despite not knowing more than 8 Thai words)
Recap spanks hehe
Opening the episode up strong with this beauty (am I talking about the bike or Phayu in the folded coverall? clearly it's both)
Tumblr media
SCHEMING CUTIE ALERT!!! That's the Sky-is-my-new-favorite-person smile <3
Tumblr media
I'm dyingggg - Phayu says "I'm still waiting Rain" but bro, it's only been like 10 hours since the declaration of love-war, please calm down
Oops I realized I haven't been mentioning the episode titles - this one is so cute! 'I like Rain, and I'm not talking about the weather" but tbf this should have been episode 1's title
Live footage of me crying over my schedule as a grad student:
Tumblr media
Dang, Sky has got a good poker face
Tumblr media
Also Rain and I are equally dumb (I'm including myself here bc if I didn't already know Prapai and Sky were going to have a storyline I probably wouldn't have assumed he liked guys right off the bat) - Sky didn't even flinch when Rain writes down his mission to court Phayu (a guy) and immediately writes down the first tactic. WHICH incidentally is "show up in front of him every day". It's pretty full-circle that Prapai uses this same tactic to woo Sky later on, isn't it? (I also didn't notice that until right now so wow these rewatch posts are helping my analysis skills lmao)
Look at my determined son!! He's gonna get his mans!! (Sky's looking a little skeptical tho)
Tumblr media
Ah Sig my beloved other son who has a single braincell bouncing around in his head like a DVD player screensaver
Tumblr media
The Rain-at-the-garage montage contains so many cute shots but this would get too long if I put every single one in, so let's focus on the first meeting with the brothers-in-law (P'Saifah and Rain). How much must Phayu have described Rain for P'Saifah to instantly know who he is on sight? Also P'Saifah probably reported back to Phayu immediately and I'm kinda sad we don't get to see that convo.
Tumblr media
I didn't catch this until now but they also foreshadowed Rain missing a deadline in the next scene. Sky tells Rain to finish his work but as soon as Phayu texts him, Rain runs out of the room without having done anything.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Listen, I love P'Aon and his matchmaking skills ok??
Tumblr media
Look at Rain, he's trying so hard to be polite with the P'Phayu and the khrap - what a good boy! It's taking everything in him tho lmaooo
Tumblr media
The conversation that comes right after this between P'Saifah and Rain is pretty interesting. I love how the narrative keeps trying to tell us that Phayu is some sort of dangerous fellow when all he's done is be a model student and mechanic and teach college freshmen good manners. Could he maybe learn a little something about physical boundaries? Perhaps, but maybe it's just how kind-looking Boss is, but I never got any sense of danger from Phayu, and esp not towards Rain. Rain's reaction to hearing presumably about Phayu's past relationships is quite on-point, and really cements the stubborn and determined attitude he takes towards getting Phayu to like him. It's how we as the audience know he's gonna be successful.
Next up, Phayu arrives in all his fashionably-late glory. This part has me smirking every time because he walks in all suave and stuff but approximately 7 seconds into Rain's pouting he immediately drops all pretenses and becomes so squishy and soft
Tumblr media
I LOVE this exchange between them - again, we are getting a full picture of their early relationship dynamics. Phayu has expectations that Rain's gonna be different, and Rain's telling him he's gonna meet those expectations, and Phayu's satisfied "ah just as I thought" face makes an appearance.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I absolutely adore this expression on Rain/Noeul - it's so subtle but powerful
Tumblr media
Yay dinner date!! Phayu is taking so many mental notes right here (also pls note this is the same face Rain is making right above)
Tumblr media
Phayu is way too good at pressing Rain's buttons omg - he really got Rain to do this with like a single sentence of teasing (tbf Rain is pretty impulsive tho so I'm not surprised)
Tumblr media
The poor serviceperson was like pls let me go
Tumblr media
Phayu goes through this episode looking wayyy too satisfied imo
But Rain actually does have nice manners - he gave Phayu the utensils and bowl first and does say thank you
This smile should be illegal actually bc it is stealing my heart and soul
Tumblr media
And we get another instance of Phayu being very not immune to Rain's pout (this time he doesn't even get to pout for 3 whole seconds before concerned Phayu is feeding him and patting his mouth with a napkin)
Tumblr media
We get some more foreshadowing that Rain is going to miss a deadline
Tumblr media
ok THIS. These small gestures that Phayu does for Rain have me swooning just as much as their intimate scenes. Something about that sentence is grammatically incorrect but you get my point, right? They could have easily not included them (and idk if these were even scripted) but they make the relationship that much sweeter and believable.
Tumblr media
Slightly off-screen headpat alert!!
Tumblr media
AND WE GET IT IN POV SHOT TOO
Tumblr media
Live footage of us whenever PhayuRain do anything:
Tumblr media
Get you someone who looks at you the way Sig looks at his writing utensil (Have I mentioned I adore him yet?)
Tumblr media
Also wait he's not wrong!!!
Tumblr media
We get Rain's voice jumping like 10 octaves this time lmao (the increase is proportional to how much he loves Phayu obvs)
Tumblr media
Look at our smart boy!! He's won design awards, y'know
Tumblr media
Phayu you are not allowed to bully P'Aon like this - he's literally on your side??
Tumblr media
Rain: I don't want to see Phayu
Also Rain: ignores Ple, the teachers, his friends, his homework to run to the garage to give Phayu snacks
Part 2 here (y'all we're literally only halfway through the episode omg)

NATLA Ep. 4 "Into the Dark" initial thoughts
Okay wow, I think this is my fav so far in terms of changes they've made. The best ep so far is probs Warriors but this was quite bold in the changes it's made and you know what, the first episode made me fear they'd be too timid to actually lean into their changes but no. Just like Danny Pudi put his whole Pudissy into his role, this episode committed to its direction and I can respect that even in places where I don't agree with the changes. The only exception is Bumi's tests, a lot of the dialogue and other aspects lifted straight from ATLA didn't work because it felt more forced in this context than anything. And overall I think Bumi is my least favourite part of the episode and its adaptation.
I was glad to see Jet in this episode, too, even if it was brief. I'm still lacking stronger emotions and a stronger presence from Katara but I'm glad for this goodbye with Jet and how it sets up exactly what it needs to. We did lose Jet being a foil to Sokka and there was a major missed opportunity in having Jet actually interact with Sai but ah well, can't have everything.
Instead of Sokka foiling it out with Jet there's the surprise inclusion of basically Book 2 Chapter 2 which I did not expect but am pleasantly surprised by. This ep went hard on the music taken straight from ATLA between the nomads' songs and Leaves From the Vine playing over the Iroh flashback. And! And!! Oma and Shu are lesbians!!! This is not a drill, Oma and Shu are lesbians in love. If there was one thing I hoped for in terms of the live action show it was casual queer representation and I got it in the most unexpected but pleasant place. Love it.
And!! On top of the surprising but not unwelcome inclusion of The Cave of Two Lovers, the story is recentered entirely on Sokka and Katara. I'll share more thoughts on this later but suffice to say I always love me some Water Sibs appreciation and this was much needed in this version. I still take issue with essentially erasing Katara's mothering of Sokka but it's clear the impact Hakoda leaving had on them is the same and, most probably in lieu of Bato of the Water Tribe, we get this storyline with them. The fact that love being the answer was reframed as the love between these two siblings is honestly a galaxy brain change and decision and I respect the hell out of it. There's still much lacking in terms of really fleshing out our cast but I will never, ever say no to more Water Sibs content. If we were gonna spend so much time in Omashu and put so many familiar faces in there, makes sense to also do the Omashu backstory AND utilize it to shine some light on the sibling dynamic that otherwise doesn't have much room to breathe in the live action. This is the kind of bold new direction that they have to take and own to make this show work.
I also enjoyed the Zuko and Iroh stuff and that's some interesting inclusion of more Book 2 things as well. The way even their plot from the Winter Solstice part one ep was integrated here is quite clever and I enjoyed both the past and present Iroh scenes. We'll see how they handle the actual Zuko backstory and I do think this version of Iroh needs a bit more, how should I put it, softness, but there's much to like here. Especially giving Zuko the option to pursue Aang instead and having him choose to rescue Iroh. Similar to a choice he made in the above mentioned Spirit World ep but honestly, lowkey more poignant here.
That's it for me for today but I'll watch the second half of the season tomorrow. I have to say, so far it has at least provided some interesting new takes worth taking a deeper critical look at, and I don't agree with those who dismiss the show entirely. It has merit even if, halfway through the first season, it's yet to convince me it can justify its own existence.

Pairing: Austin!Elvis x reader, Olivia!Priscilla x reader.
Warning:Fluff just Fluff. (Reader's 21, Priscilla's 24, and Elvis's 34,)
Part of ATS
You look into the body length mirror watching at the seamstress up touches on your wedding dress, the dress was handmade of course, and you expect nothing less you are getting married to Elvis and Priscilla Presley after all they wanted you to have your dream wedding although it's not an actual legal wedding because you couldn't get married to two people in the states but you guys didn't care, you aren't hurting nobody.
a knock comes on the door "Come in!" You shouted so they could hear you while you politely shooed away the seamstress. The person opens the door and walks in, it was your mother. "Mom." You smiled, you're so happy she accepted at first she didn't understand but she didn't want to lose you, you were her baby and she always said 'if it makes you happy then I'm happy'. "Hey, baby you ready?" She asked walking up to you, you look back at the mirror.
Nodding and stepping off the pedestal and intertwining your arms together as you walk out of your dressing room and to the venue, you guys decide to have your wedding at Graceland while the nanny takes care of the children.
You take a deep breath as your mother walks you down the aisle the tunnel of beautiful trees above you as you look ahead at Priscilla and Elvis standing side by side, watching you with so much love in their eyes.
Once you finally reach some and had handed your bouquet to your bridesmaid you're only invited a few people you could trust, Elvis invited the Memphis Mafia and some of Priscilla's friends. Both of them hold one of your hands as jerry begins "Today We Gather here to watch the union between these in-love people, and before we begin do any of y'all have vows" Jerry looks between you and them, Elvis nods his head "Darlin' when I met you, I thought it wasn't going to last long but when I got to know you, I fall, you're kind even when I'm being an asshole but you got a fire in ya, a fire I want to protect and love, I won't let nobody distinguish that fire. Nobody." Elvis's accent is thick with emotion, he squeezes your hand to let you know he's serious.
"Priscilla?" Jerry asks her "(N/n)," Priscilla pauses, tears in the corner of her eyes "You are one of the best things that happened to me," she takes Elvis's free hand and intertwines their fingers together "I can't wait to see more of what the future holds for us I love you" you smiled at her words, "I always thought love wasn't for me, I mean who would love a broke waitress but then you ended up my life, it seems like everything was going to be all right, complete. I can't wait to be your wife" you say with your voice in a shaky tone, they both smile at you.
"Alright, EP, Priscilla do take (y/n) as your lawful wife in sickness and health till death do you part?" "We do" they squeezed your hand "Do you (f/n) tak-" "I do!" You chimed in causing everyone to chuckle "Well by the power not vested in me," people laugh at that before Jerry continued
"I pronounce you husband and wives you may now kiss the bride." Priscilla was the first to kiss you, she grabbed your face in her hands places a soft kiss on your lips before kissing around your face with a giggle, making a small giggle leave you. Elvis looked at you intensely as he puts his hand behind your head and pulls you into a heated kiss, lips dancing and locking together, tongues swirling around each other, you were able to break out of the trance once Priscilla clears her throat and hits Elvis on the chest.
You pulled away with the feeling of your face hot and of course, Elvis is smirking, tease.
Everyone cheer and clap as you walk down the aisle, Elvis in the middle holding both you and Priscilla's arms, you on the left and her on the right.
"Ready to change that name, Mrs. Presley?" Elvis asked you "Of course, Mr. And Mrs. Presley." You grin as you walk to your new future.

I have seen antis call sylki a toxic relationship. They call Sylvie abusive and Loki a simp. And I feel there is a simple reason for that. One, subversion of gender stereotypes in relationship and not conforming to accepted behaviour of conduct. Let me explain what I mean.
For the longest time, Loki has been the fandom sexy man. People romanticised his toxic masculine traits, his broken persona, his trauma, his damaged emotional state and unhealthy coping mechanisms because it made him appealing. He was literally the fandom 'brooding guy'.
And typically in media and fiction, the brooding guy has been paired with the gentle girl. This girl is often kind, shy and docile who offers kind words, affection, companionship and care. And this love and care of her coaxes the brooding guy out of his shell and heals him with the power of love. Most often than not, this girl only serves the purpose of being the emotional support crutch for the brooding guy. And most times, her entire world revolves around the brooding guy. He and his troubles turn into the centre of her universe and she drops everything in her own life to help him out.
A great example of this is Mary St. Jacques in the 'Bourne Identity' (the book, not the movie). Yes, she's shown as an accomplished and independent woman (and not exactly a gentle girl personality wise), but that doesn't change the fact that she drops her entire life and gets embroiled in the world of gangsters and assassins, all for a man she doesn't know from before and who holds her hostage at gun point. From then on, in the first book, her entire arc is helping Bourne find out who he is.
Now, this gentle girl often fulfills the 'I can fix him' fantasy. Where a woman with her unconditional love and support can fix a broken man. This is so often romanticised in romance novels to the point of expecting the women to keep up with abusive behaviour in the name of helping the broken, brooding man
And that's what many people were expecting Loki's love interest to be. They expected him/her to be totally devoted to Loki, to mother him, be the only person he was close to, be his emotional crutch and heal his traumas or atleast try to fix him.
But the series went the opposite way. Instead of Loki's love interest being the one to carry the burden of his trauma, they gave Loki an even broken women to fall in love with. Sylvie is drowned in so many of her own insecurities and traumas, that she can't be Loki's emotional crutch. That doesn't mean Sylvie doesn't care. Because she does and she has proven it many times. She tells him his mother must be proud of him, holds his hand on Lamentis, asks him if he was ok in ep 4, gives him her sword during the timekeepers chamber fight. She prunes herself to find Loki, gives him the tempad to offer him a way out and doesn't want him to follow her to Alioth because it could be a suicide mission.
She cares a lot, but not in the way women are expected to care for their men in a relationship. She doesn't carry the entire burden of his trauma or try to fix him. She doesn't shower him with outward, emotional displays of affection. Most of her affection is hidden in plain sight. And so she is called a smug, arrogant, abusive bitch.
On the other hand, instead of the Dom! Loki the fandom headcannoned, we got a soft, thoughtful Loki who cared for Sylvie, cheered her on, assisted her achieve her goal and loved her unconditionally. He loved Sylvie how a woman should be loved, but he gets called Sylvie's dog and a simp for it, because a man supporting his woman and respecting her makes him seem weak. People prefer the toxic, possesive, dominating behaviour as a sign of love over true respect and care.
And because of this thinking, people think Loki is weak. Because he doesn't dominate over Sylvie. Because he doesn't try to own her or control her.
Some say Loki was henpecked because he simply put up with whatever Sylvie said or did. But that is a lie because the moment he didn't agree with her stance in ep 6, he stood up against her and stopped her in ep 6. That means Loki was willing to stand up against Sylvie when he felt the need to. And that is a sign of true confidence and strength.

flowers of every color | writer's behind the scenes!
some stuff about my writing process for the fic! be warned that if you haven't caught up yet, there are spoilers
tagging people who liked and/or replied my interest check post: @agustdiv1ne @mazeinthemoon @txtistheloml @kyaneosprincess @teletubbiesssss @banggyu0308
these are pretty long so i'm putting them behind a read-more hehe
story planning:
while we've gotten plenty of yeonjun in prince outfits over the years, the main inspiration for this fic is yeonjun's opening outfit in act: sweet mirage! i saw that and was like "oh man he would be SO DASHING as a prince 😍" and just went from there
if you've been here from the start, you might know that i didn't originally plan make a series! i just word-vomited the first chapter (well, what became the first chapter) directly into tumblr's post editor because the thought of prince!yeonjun wouldn't leave me alone, especially after seeing a few other prince/commoner and prince/servant fics floating around lol. chapter 1 is also the only chapter made using tumblr's legacy editor rather than their new one (which is also why the cover pics are one big edited photo and not 3 separate photos, i couldn't figure out how to get 3 photos to line up in the legacy editor).
i honestly did not expect people to read chapter 1 but they did!! and they liked the idea!! plus even after writing chapter 1 i STILL couldn't get the idea out of my head so i decided to write it as a full story. i've written plenty of oneshots before under my (non-kpop) ao3 account, but this is my first multichapter series! so i opened google docs and made a quick outline of the story's main events.
the original outline for foec had 6 chapters + 2 endings, but as i wrote the story, i realized that more detail and scenes were needed than what i initially outlined! chapters 3 and 4 (ball preparations + the ball / gazebo dance scene) were supposed to be one chapter. chapters 5 and 6 (y/n hanging out with the chois + getting caught + punishment + intro of arranged marriage) were also supposed to be one chapter. chapters 7-9 (end of friendship, reconciling with soogyu, y/n & beomgyu talk) were also supposed to be one chapter!
i actually started writing the bad ending first before the good ending -- my reasoning was that if i were the reader, i would want to save the good ending for last so that i could end the series on a positive note. i was very surprised when people voted for the good ending first in the poll LMAO also as far as i'm concerned, both endings are canon in a "branching timeline" kind of way. they are both the real ending! i do have a soft spot for the good ending but also i love angst too much to not write a bad ending haha.
honestly most of the story beats from my original outline made it into the final fic! the biggest change has to do with queen hwayoung's and princess ajin's roles in the story (more on that below).
character notes:
when i was first brainstorming i really wanted to include both taehyun and hueningkai in the story as well, but i struggle with writing ensemble casts and choi line + y/n (+ the supporting characters in the castle) were already enough for me to handle. soobin and beomgyu were the easiest for me to incorporate into the story since they have the same last name and i could go "oh in this universe they're part of the same royal house hence the same last name" HAHA. i do imagine that the house of choi princes are also friends with tyunning (kai does get alluded to in chapter 9), but they're off doing their own adventures.
some of little moments in the fic were inspired by actual things txt have done in variety shows! yeonjun, y/n, soobin, and beomgyu playing cards in chapter 5 is based off to do ep. 53 where they also play cards. soogyu playing badminton in chapter 8 is inspired by gbgb era idol human theater where they played a little badminton by the pool. and there are a lot more small character quirks that are inspired by gifs or fancams i've seen of them haha.
queen hwayoung and princess ajin were originally not supposed to be part of the story! my original idea was the have the arranged marriage subplot be heard secondhand by through advisers so that it feels like an invisible force pulling yeonjun away from y/n. but i needed to make the threat of the arranged marriage stronger and ended up writing the scene with queen hwayoung in it for chapter 6.
princess ajin especially was a late addition -- originally she was never supposed to appear at all, never visiting the castle and only speaking through her mom / royal advisors, so there was that threat of yeonjun being married off to someone he's never even met. but after looking through the feedback of chapter 6 i realized that i kinda-sorta accidentally made setup for her oops. people were wondering what she'd be like, and it would feel too anticlimactic to never have her appear in the story, so i wrote her in. which i don't regret because i did enjoy writing her big scene in chapter 10!
speaking of which: a friend of mine asked what happens to princess ajin, and honestly i wanted to give her proper closure too! but i couldn't find a way to fit it into the story in a way that felt natural. if you ask me though, she gains some level of political independence from her mom (represented by her visiting the castle in the good ending). she still marries for political reasons, to a prince or nobleman who is also in it for the politics, and at first they treat their marriage as a business partnership. eventually they grow close and form a devoted "i'd do anything for you" bond -- not necessarily romantic in nature, but caring in its own way. (i'm describing a queerplatonic relationship basically)
tbh i don't have the energy to write another multichapter right now, but i would love to see spinoff fics for soobin and beomgyu or even taehyun and kai as princes in their own kingdoms! so if you're reading this and you want to do it, you have my blessing <3
flower notes:
while some chapter titles were planned around a specific flower representing the events & progression of the story, others were not (because of the chapter splits i talked about earlier) and i just chose whatever flower was in it lol. the planned chapter title flowers are: yellow roses (ch2), pink roses (ch4), sunflowers (ch5), striped carnations (ch7) , purple hyacinths (ch9), red roses (ch10), daffodils (GE), and white lilies (BE). the unplanned title flowers are: irises (ch1), lilies of the valley (ch3), red and purple zinnias (ch6), sweet peas (ch8).
i mostly used this website as a reference for the language of flowers, BUT i also double check with one or two other websites to make sure i'm getting an established flower meaning and not something made up! when i started fic planning i made a list of flowers with meanings that fit the main story beats and character progressions, then picked the ones with the most established meanings (i.e. supported by multiple "language of flowers" websites) and/or the ones that were appropriate for the growing season.
even though i wrote a disclaimer not to pay attention to botanical accuracy re: seasonal flowering times, i originally envisioned the fic to take place over the spring. then when it got longer, i imagined it taking place over spring and summer, so i tried (keyword: tried) to choose seasonally appropriate flowers or flowers that bloom year-round. this is hard for me because i live in a tropical country. i have never seen a lot of these flowers in person because they don't grow in the climate here, and i have no idea what a four-season year feels like. so i decided not to put time-of-year markers in the fic and leave the season ambiguous, and added that disclaimer about the flowers' accuracy.
an example of this: chapter 9 is named after purple hyacinths. i first decided on this back when the story was only supposed to take place during the spring, since hyacinths are a spring flower. i considered naming it after hydrangeas because they mean something like "thank you for understanding" (i.e. y/n going "thank you for understanding what a hard position i'm in" to yeonjun), and also because they're one of my favorite flowers. but i wasn't sure about their seasonal appropriateness since some sources said that they bloom during early summer so i changed it to hyacinths. BUT THEN the fic got long and i started imagining that the later chapters take place in the summer SO the hyacinths ended up being seasonally inappropriate after all! and hydrangeas would have been more appropriate! especially since txt literally has a song called hydrangea love out aarghhh noooo but anyway it is what it is
other flowers that didn't make the cut + their meanings: sweet william (gallantry), alstroemeria (friendship or devotion), freesia (friendship, thoughtfulness), white tulips (forgiveness, consideration, respect), thyme (courage, strength)
other notes:
the key lime pie in chapter 6 is based on a real pie that i ate at my friend's house when i visited her there and i thought it was the most delicious thing i have ever eaten. in the original draft it was a lemon tart!
i wanted to keep this series strictly sfw, but i did consider making both the good and bad endings have suggestive, fade-to-black scenes. for the good ending, the suggestive part would have involved y/n in yeonjun's room the night after their speech / before waking up together. for the bad ending, it would have happened when yeonjun visits y/n's quarters. i didn't write them bc i... am not good with anything suggestive or nsfw klsadjfklasjd
I COMPLETELY FORGOT BUT Y/N'S FATHER WAS ALSO IN THE AUDIENCE FOR THEIR SPEECH IN THE GOOD ENDING... i have no excuse for not writing him in other than I Forgot. i am so sorry but please imagine he was there
--
that's all i can think of for now! if you have other questions about foec or my writing process please please feel free to reply to this post or send an ask <3

watching Leverage: ep 4
GOOD MORNING!
i actually meant to watch this episode last night but my sleepy brain said otherwise lol
Pre-game Thoughts:
also thank you everyone in the Leverage fandom who has given me such a warm welcome! y'all are so sweet and i feel like i'm being mothered by older cousins lol. i didn't expect this to gain a lot of ppl's attention, just a couple mutuals but hello!!! welcome to the show that y'all are vicariously watching through me or rewatching!
ok so turns out last episode we delved more into character backstory AND the overarching plot
Eliot was a farm-boy before getting becoming a bruiser, and i don't know why that is so funny to me (yes i do). my only question is when did he decide to go into that kind of business. was he an underground boxer or something? did he move to the city to "make a name for himself" but instead got into the mafia or something?
out of all the characters, this man is the one i want to know more about just because he never explains himself. oh, he recognized the fighting style of that mercenary? how sir??? oh you've been in this business for some time? how long sir????
this big insurance company is definitely the big bad. if they are the ones that our crew faces in the season's finale, i wouldn't be shocked. i would a little disappointed because these guys seem more like a s3 type of big bad that you build and build for some more seasons.
the actor who plays sterling is so familiar to me. i feel like i've seen him but he looked older than now. was he in spn? i think he was. i don't watch spn, but i've seen enough gifs to know the cast.
i've talked long enough, on with the show!
spoilers incoming lol
fluffy's reactions!
i haven't even clicked play yet WHY IS ALEC WEARING YELLOW??? LMAO HE LOOKS LIKE THE BANANA HAT GUY FROM CURIOUS GEORGE
THE CLERGY???? oh wait no this is about city council corruption. a little disappointed, but this concept is still interesting
the children trying so hard to compliment sophie about her play. i think parker was genuine tho and she deserves a gold star
nathan trying his best to compliment the play lol "a beautiful rendition!" he keeps it vague enough to ensure there's nothing bad well done
OH??? THE EX WIFE IS COMING IN??? DON'T WORRY SOPHIE EVERYTHING WILL BE OK
"what are you doing?" asks the priest suspiciously. "just....uh, moving God's plan along...faster." nice save there nathan
awwww he didn't need to ask them this time to help out
when i say sophie and nathan are in love, i mean it because do you see how soft they are for each other????
alec already with the presentation board about which corporation they're hitting next before nathan needs to ask him my heart! he's already narrowed it down and even knew just what to say, my little prepared computer nerd
ok i know alec's the guy who has more of the comedic lines but don't think i haven't been noticing that his aversions to certain places or people are little holes into his backstory (or maybe not and i'm looking into this too hard but who would i be if i didn't)
"i don't do gangs" that is a short little line but has a a lot of untapped backstory in it i can FEEL IT
very sweet of eliot to just figuratively drag alec with him to get info on the gang who beat up the priest
his son was baptised there T^T ok ok we hitting at nathan's backstory today got it
sophie picking up nathan's distress immediately NOBODY TOUCH ME
well whata you know, i guess it can be that easy to find the gang you're looking for
"how's this for answer" *shows gun* i'm so sorry i chuckled. that's so corny i'm sorry. i would get shot by that man if he did that because i would not stop laughing
YEAH THAT'S MY BOY ALEC SHOVE THAT BITCH
i forgot about the dislocated shoulder lmao
"do you mind?" OOP LITTLE DUDE'S IN DEEP SHIT WITH HIS GANG so the corp enlisted just a lackey from the gang and not the whole....interesting (also their mistake it seems)
ah this grant dude has a stick up his ass
ALEC'S FACE AT PARKER DEAD
ooooooh his publicist?
Tomas talking about his old neighborhood and then grant slamming on it NOOOOOO you hurt my boy
omfg he got yelled at by a nun they're ruthless i tell you
alec my boy "you're catholic and you want to fake a miracle?" i'm DEAD i'll have you know that good intentions are very important
eliot immediately on board with shooting the statue with a paintball gun after saying he thought the idea of the statue bleeding was dumb
AH sophie and nathan heart to heart T^T "you were the good guy...that's what made it fun" "i was...tempted" SEE THIS IS WHAT I MEANT BY DON'T TELL ME BUT ALSO TELL ME
she gonna wait for him T^T "but not for too long" LIES SOPHIE
OOOOOOH TOURIST TRAP
GRANT IS DOING WHAT I THINK HE'S DOING
NO I WAS JOKING ABOUT THE TOURIST TRAP
TOMAS'S FACE
THE VATICAN?????
i love fr. paul. he's so mad lmao
wow we really getting into it
tomas i love you, i'm so glad
FUCKING SHIT I WAS FOLLOWING THE CONGREGATION
"a reading of the Gospel according to Luke" me: "glory to you oh lord---SHIT"
see, this is why i keep my thoughts to myself with a priest because they will use in in their homilies.
WHAT A TWIST
TOMAS MY BOY
ok but saint nick is santa claus tho
he is also the patron saint of prostitutes
general thoughts:
i really thought this episode would center on the clergy and all of that, but that's a too big topic to even cover for one episode. not to mention that that issue covers more than the US and i don't think the leverage crew will go international with their heisting yet.
and this did a great job covering how a lot of poorer communities get screwed over by bigger corporations seeking to expand their commercial empire. ALSO how most of their issues comes with underfunded infrastructure that local governments ignore, giving those corporations such a "great" reason to state their case on why those buildings/neighborhoods should be torn down.
AND it even touched on how quickly things that should be considered marvels are so easily commercialized in this day and age. grant was so ready to turn that church into the next disneyland which 1) is sacrilegious and 2) is such a shallow view on miracles. but hey, that's what US brands have done with Christmas soooooooo it wouldn't be surprising to see someone try to do that with a crying statue.
we even get the discussion of intention vs action because THAT is a hot topic in the Catholic community. do the ends justify the means? do the means justify the ends? and while they kind of leave that question in the air for the audience to decide for themselves, it kind of ends with the episode leaning more on the intention's side. Father Paul broke his vow and revealed what he knew when Nathan confessed because he felt that it was the right thing to do (intention: do right by his church and conscience; action: break the vow of silence a priest makes for confessionals). Our band of thieves framed Grant in order to keep the church's integrity and save the neighborhood. Both acts are considered bad, but both were done with the intention to do good.
so yeah, it was a fun episode, my ot3 trio are going strong. and i can't wait for more!

The Rain Payu scene was a good one I'll give you that, but it's hardly the best in Thai BL. KinnPorsche recently, why r u? Cutie pie , check out , tharntype all had excellent NC scenes.
All right, no need with the discourse anon.
Whether it's best or not it's an individual choice imo.
I have watched all the above series you mentioned other that Check Out so I can tell each has its different appeal.
I think when we started watching Love in the air, we didn't expect it to be this detailed with the NC scenes. I think the shock factor also plays a part.
Why r u? was good but the scenes looked so repetitive, endless kissing (not complaining). It did a good job with the script they had where P'Fight was kind of reluctant and then Tutor eased him into the sex part. I don't remember now, but I don't think they did a scene where we see foreplay, the actual action and the after glow.
KinnPorsche did this in all of the sex scenes, but all the characters were experienced beforehand. Personally I think Vegas Pete and the KP mutual handjob scenes take the awards if there are any.
Cutie pie was good kissing but I got bored of shy Kuea. So I only watched the scenes for Lian.
No comments about TharnType.
What I liked best in Love in the air is the way they have handled the progress of their intimacy.
Go watch their first time together again, once Rain mentions he has never done it before, P'Payu is completely focused on pleasing Rain. Rain just lies there and is feeling it all. When they reach the climax P'Payu kisses him so soft. Where as in Ep 6 scenes we see Rain taking charge, he never stops being handsy or kissing. He even talks about liking it while they are mid action. And it is he who kisses P'Payu softly when they reach the climax. (He is learning fast 😂)
I think it's the first time I have seen this kind role reversal or sexual agency from supposedly an uke character in a Thai BL.
Because of which it stands out.
Sorry for the word vomit on NC scenes in Thai BL. You asked and I answered. 🙈
Extra points for lip biting and licking tongues. Has any other BL done that before?

Spoilers for Rings of Power Ep 4: The Great Wave (mostly just talking about favorite parts)
Numenor:
Tar Miriel's dream of the Downfall of Numenor was insane. Like, if this is but a mere glimpse of what we're going to get to see when Numenor actually falls...holy cow. And it's the very first scene of the episode too! (I also find it rather haunting that the baby Miriel holds at the start is named Eliniel, who was a woman from the first age who was the wife of Gorlim the Unhappy. Gorlim bargained with Sauron, revealing the location of his fellow outlaws for his wife to be set free from imprisonment, only for Sauron to cruelly reveal afterwards he had killed Eliniel, and then proceeded to kill Gorlim himself.)
Galadriel telling Miriel that "there is a tempest in me", reminds me of the scene from Fotr when Galadriel is tempted to take the one ring. "...Not dark but beautiful and terrible as the dawn! As tempestuous as the sea!" Coincidence? I think not.
If you look closely in the scene where Tar Miriel shows Galadriel the vision of Numenor's Fall, in the room you can see four rather interesting relics, those relics being the sword of Narsil(looking identical to the blade from the Jackson films), the Dragon Helm of Dor Lomin, and Tuor's Axe and Shield.
Something someone on reddit pointed out is that the Palantir seems to be made out of labradorite, which is traditionally connected with visions and dreams. It's a nice touch!
Adar:
The interactions between Adar and the orcs has to be one of the highlights of the episode for me. And what makes it one of my favorite parts is because of just how...strangely moving it is?
Everywhere else, the orcs are depicted as terrifying, ruthless enemies, but in the presence of Adar, they display something I never would have expected to see from orcs: emotional vulnerability.
It was actually kind of surreal to watch. Because since when have we ever seen orcs displaying vulnerability or reverence of any sort? Well, we do here.
The orcs don't just revere Adar though, they adore him. They quite literally see Adar as his name suggests: A father-figure, one who actually seems to genuinely care for them.
In the introduction of Adar we see him comforting a dying orc, who whispers his name, smiling up at him. Adar smiles sadly back, tears of genuine sadness forming in his eyes, caressing the orc's face, all right before he mercy-kills him. The others then carry the orc's body away presumably to be buried. It's all so strangely moving that the entire scene has been totally burned into my brain.
As for theories as to who he could be, I still think he could be one of the first "orcs", among those elves who were taken and twisted by Melkor soon after their awakening. So in a way he is literally the father of all orcs, hence why he's called Adar. Of course this begs the question of whether there was an Orc mother, but I won't get too into that right now. As for now it seems like a pretty solid theory, and one I could definitely see being true.
But there's a new theory about Adar's identity that popped up when the episode was released, one that I really like, and it's that Adar could actually be Maeglin, who survived the fall from Gondolin's walls, and even if he didn't survive, those of Morgoth's armies could have found his body and used some dark magics to bring him back to life. He fits the physical description for one thing: dark hair, pale skin, black armor, even right down to the soft voice, it's all there. The scars on his face are definitely burns, which matches perfectly with his supposed fate of being thrown into fire. The black glove on his hand reminds me of an early draft of the Fall of Gondolin, where Earendil, after being taken hostage, bites Maeglin's hand before Tuor comes in and breaks Maeglin's arm right before he throws him over the edge.
Adar speaks Quenya, meaning he could be one of the Noldor. When Arondir reveals he was born in Beleriand Adar asks "by the mouth of the river?" He doesn't specify much on which river except that he traveled down that river when he was young, and that it was covered in sage blossoms. Maeglin was known to travel down the river Gelion often when visiting the Dwarves. So perhaps that is the river he is referring to.
It's probably less likely than the "Adar being the father of all orcs" theory, but it's still cool to think about. Not to mention the way it could tie into Elrond's storyline would be AWESOME.
Elrond and the Dwarves:
Just when I thought I couldn't fall more in love with Robert Aramayo's portrayal of Elrond, this episode proved me wrong. Dang, Celebrian is one lucky woman. Elrond is such a sweetheart, how could anyone with a soul not love him? This version of Elrond perfectly fits the book's description of "kind as summer". I love Hugo Weaving's Elrond, but he always came off as rather cold and stern. Rings of Power's Elrond features a much more book accurate portrayal of him, and Robert Aramayo does it flawlessly. There's just this care and feeling behind how he plays Elrond that's so genuine, how could I not love him?
The scenes between Celebrimbor and Elrond, and later Durin and Elrond talking about Earendil was definitely one of the best parts of this episode. I was grinning from ear to ear whilst also melting at the same time whenever Earendil was talked about. The way Elrond's interest is immediately peaked when Celebrimbor tells him how he reminded him of Earendil gets to me. But it's Elrond's words to Durin about Earendil that really had me bawling. I'll just let Elrond's words speak for itself:
"For many years, at day's end, I would look up at it...wondering what might he think if he were watching me. Would he be proud of what I've accomplished with his legacy? Or disappointed by the countless ways I'd failed to live up to it? But then, one night, it struck me, that I would be only happy to hear any judgement, so long as it granted me the opportunity to have but one more conversation with my father. Do not waste what time you have left with yours."
That had me bawling.
You can literally see the tears forming in his eyes when he says that, can feel that he means every word of what he's saying. Earendil was one of the greatest heroes of the First Age, and Elrond knows that. Just imagine the weight that must press down on Elrond's shoulders as the son of that same hero. Whenever he looks up at the evening star, that's his dad up there. He wonders what his father might think of him, whether he would be proud or disappointed with him.
But in the end, that doesn't really matter to Elrond, because all he really wants is to just be able to be speak with his father at least one more time, and it especially hurts when you think about the fact that Elrond didn't really know his father all that well. Earendil was always off on voyages, seeking help from the Valar. He was more of a distant figure of legend to Elrond than a close family member, and yet to just be able to talk with his father would be enough for him, no matter if he was proud or disappointed.
‐--------
I continue to adore Elrond and Durin's friendship, and the Dwarves in general. I continue to be amazed by just how well the Dwarves are written in this show. And Disa's singing? 👌 She's hands down one of my favorite characters so far.
But even as much as I love them all-*inhales*
ELROND EARENDILION WHY WOULD YOU TAKE THAT OATH HAVE MAEDHROS AND MAGLOR TAUGHT YOU NOTHING?????!!!!!! *Starts shaking him by the shoulders*
Well, okay, the Oath of Feanor and the oath that Elrond takes in this episode are two very different things(for one thing there's no killing involved) and there's no nefarious intent behind it and it's obvious Elrond just wants be friends with Durin again and gain his trust BUT STILL. There's no way this isn't going to bite him in the back later on.

Well if I erased the last minute that was a perfect episode. Their interactions at the ambulance.
Hahaha, no, even that last minute was part of the perfection! Which, it WAS a perfect ep! Look at what happened:
Jane and Ernie looking expectantly at Lucy as if she must know where Kate is at 6am on a Saturday, which she DOES
Lucy being unbelievably flustered at Kate in a bikini like, we were expecting that from the trailer and yet I still didn't expect it'd be THAT bad, god, it was the most hilarious and painful thing ever
Lucy being super worried when finding hurt Kate and being like, I'm not leaving you!
Lucy sublimating her worry and concern over Kate by telling her to put the ice pack back on her jaw and yelling at her about how dangerous it was to go in alone
Lucy then defending Kate when her boss yelled at her + Kate's soft thank you
Lucy finding out Kate refused a promotion! To stay in Hawai'i! Possibly to stay close to her! That is some Austenian stuff
Also Lucy excitedly telling Kate's boss she'll be okay and that he's lucky to have her :)
Lucy PUMMELING that lady who hurt Kate and like, never in a million years do I think she'd hurt or kill someone because of personal feelings, but did she particularly regret what happened? I wouldn't say so
Jane seeing Kate standing at Lucy's desk (didn't I say that desk's seen more than the elevator??) and immediately leaving the two to talk; as with her and Ernie looking at her earlier during the 6am thing and Jesse gently stepping in to defend Kate at the ambulance, I LOVE when other main characters are involved because writers have historically been very reluctant to expand f/f storylines into others' spaces
Oof, where even to begin with that Kate/Lucy convo? Kate just being there was great, and it starting with Friendly banter, as they'd agreed to return to after Kate's apology in 1x17, also, "you should be horizontal", like, we know you subconsciously think so, Luce
Lucy's "she won't be hurting anyone anymore" and pointed nod at Kate's sling, indicating how invested she'd been in getting the person who hurt Kate
Lucy apologizing for being hard on Kate earlier! Which, yes, just because she's worried doesn't mean she can just take it out on her, so while it was understandable, it wasn't right, and Lucy realized and apologized on her own, and so crucially, given these last few episodes, showing in practice how she views apologies, freely and quickly given when deserved
Lucy's surfing philosophy--and then the mood immediately changing from them laughing about it as Lucy almost brings up who she was seeing, the kahuna Ernie mentioned, but Kate most likely assuming she means seeing as in dating, at which her whole face wobbles and falls, which, yeah, Lucy is casually dating but nobody she'd bring up in conversation so meaningfully, the way Kate thinks is happening
Lucy visibly fighting herself and then HAVING to ask if Kate stayed in Hawai'i for her, and she did! I know people were all like, tbh, I want her to have stayed for career reasons too, but not me, I LOVED that she stayed for Lucy, muahahaha. "Because I wanted to be closer to you?" I love how freaking open that is
Poor Lucy realizing how much she isn't in a place to process this, and shutting it all down before she gives in to the temptation of thinking Kate loved--loves her and they could be a thing and then she could be hurt all over again
"I loved you, Kate." Aaah, she said Kate! Also, loved you, of course, also, like, kind of major, but she said Kate. :> And poor Kate as Lucy walked off. :<
Now okay, so that last minute. I mean, the way Lucy had to steel herself and take that steadying breath before plastering on a smile and walking up to the date? It's only further proof of how NOT over Kate she is, while also setting up a delicious obstacle to climb over in the upcoming eps (sorry to other lady, who seems nice enough). Lucy's heart isn't into her at all and actually I'm pleased that they're granting this time to Lucy (and Kacy the ship, since it's still part of their dynamic), because in other shows Lucy'd just have disappeared off screen after that talk with Kate and we'd just be told instead of shown that she's trying to move on

I’m starting to get the feeling that drama with Marina is gonna be minimal and not directly threatening to their relationship. Like it’s gonna be more them vs whatever angst. Like they’re gonna be a united front. And their disagreements will be mild like with most new parents (well generally). I want Maya to be the fun mom so I’m hoping we get that. I just don’t picture her being strict. That’s more Carina and solely based off her comments in GA to Arizona about her being too soft on her kid lol.
The thing one of the writers said about everyone getting a satisfying ending makes me think that Marina will be fine but we won’t see much if any of them on their ivf journey or if we do it’ll cut to black 🤣
And why is Carina always with Bailey? Why can’t anyone else from GA be her friend on screen or the very least be mentioned? They’ve shown it can be done.
It would have been amazing if Jo had mentioned Carina in the latest GA ep. Like a throwaway line or something about her helping or whatever. GA writers forgot she exists.
But we’re all delulu and forgot they keep doing her so wrong on both shows.
I don’t think she’’ll cameo on Greys as a patient so I’m really curious to know what the angle will be.
Also we should probably all stop trying to guess what’s gonna happen. Cos I didn’t imagine her getting sued lol. Well she is a doctor on tv so it was bound to happen at least we know she’s gonna be fine cos that storyline is as predictable as the adoption arc.
I think so too and that's honestly the ideal situation. I've been wanting to see them have drama that was a us vs them situation and we see them confront the problems together instead of it pulling them apart. So with this suing situation, I definitely see them being a united front. I just wonder how they're going to attack the parenting side of things and if they have different views, how they'll go about showing that. Maya definitely shouldn't be the strict mom (even if they had her say she was going to be in 5x07, that's wrong) and I just wonder what kind of things they'd have them disagree on as far as "parenting styles" are concerned. Hopefully nothing too serious because that's just unnecessary at this point.
I think that's probably accurate and why it won't be completely satisfying...though I'm now hoping they don't drop the IVF stuff altogether due to the lawsuit or whatever else ends up happening.
They probably just always have her with Bailey because Bailey is the one who comes onto Station 19 the most because she's Ben's wife. But Carina should be allowed to have other friends and it shouldn't be hard for them to have Amelia or Jo or Teddy come on for an episode since they are able to do it for other situations. It would have been nice to see Jo and Carina discuss the whole adoption thing since Jo went through something similar. Grey's definitely forgets she exists 95% of the time.
I do wonder what Carina's appearance on Grey's is going to be for though or if it's something stupid like it usually is these days and just some background nonsense.
Yeah I didn't expect Carina getting sued at all lol and we all thought the premiere conversation based on the stills was them discussing adopting the baby when really it was them discussing buying a house so yeah...we continue to be wrong most of the time lol

Korn and the mystery chess game
(rant ahead)
One of the things that left me completely 'gaping-like-a-fish surprised, confused, whatthefuck, idonttrust anyone' about the last ep was the brilliancy of Korn vs. Karn/Kan/Gun/Vegas dad.
For my part, until Korn woke from dead and Karn told the mom story from his pov...I totally trusted whatever Korn said (in czech you can say sežrala jsem mu to i s navijákem=i ate everything he gave me, even the fishing rod xD).
In the second reenactment of Nampheungs "death", I didn't believe Karn at all. It felt so out of the character to see Karn so distraught and soft and desperate. P'Ex did amazing job though, because even though I didn't believe Karn's overacting, it did start a seed of doubt in me.
With all the abusive shit he put Vegas through, I was 200% ready to kill him and not trust a single word he says. And yet...
Korn's actions seem dubious at best. And while he compels me to trust him with all the talk about protecting Porsche, Chay and mom, his speech has many, MANY, holes in it.
Starting with: "I wanted to protect my nephews."
Are you sure? Really? REALLY?
You did shitty job with Porsche and even shittier job with Vegas. And offering Vegas his 'love' after shooting Karn? Did he really think Vegas would accept his 'fatherly help' (Korn would gain another chess piece, but would he leave the power in his hands? Vegas is to unpredictable for his taste) OR did he expected and wanted Vegas not to accept so his bodyguards could shoot him and Korn would neatly get rid of the competition?
I don't think he predicted Pete though. (I need to rewatch it to confirm but I think Pete's hesitation was a surprise for him)
I like to think that Korn knows Pete good enough to recognize, that even though he was loyal to major family till now, his loyalties have shifted completely towards Vegas. And even though Pete says he'll be always loyal to major family, I think Korn knows it not to be true. I think the moment anyone would move to actually shoot Vegas, Pete would have shot them AND Korn for putting the order. To support my opinion about this, just look at the scene where Vegas is really shot. Pete didn't even hesitate. He Exploded with rage.
So Pete has become another unpredictable volatile person Korn needs to eliminate from the game. But he's still playing, because even though king is defeated, the queen still stands. So he plays the part of a kind boss who looks after his people (remember Pete's 'khun korn is not cruel, give up to him') and ends it with 'look after Vegas'. Maintaining the facade and ensuring, that if it would come to it, Pete would have at least a sliver of doubt in him (same as Kinn) to sway Vegas not to go against him.
The whole ordeal with Porsche's mom...*sigh*
I really don't know what to even think. What is the truth? Where is the truth? What actually happened?
She trully might be in a shock and not remember anything, not responding to anything, but really Porsche, honey, my dumb naive idiot, doesn't it look too weird and suspicious to you?
The not responding part especially freaks me out.
The whole ep ended somewhat happy. Seemingly everyone got happy ending. So why does it leave a disturbing unsettling feelings in me?
As much as I'm gratefull and 'I'll kiss you on the mouth with tongue' ecstatic about the end VegasPeteMacau scene, I wonder if it wasn't there just to lead our minds away from the mistrust and questions from the Actual last scene - the very suspicious Korn's line and most importantly the empty look from Nampheung.
History is indeed written by victors.
Korn has now two chess pieces he can move how he wants and both of them stand on his side now. Kinn is emotionally attached to his father and Porsche is attached to Kinn. He can manipulate the minor family how he wants.
But. But...
You cannot tell me that all of minor family would be dedicated to Porsche now. I think that at least some fraction of minor family will want to side with Vegas, make him take the reigns after Karn. Just look at the last meeting with 'clan leader' Kinn. Not all of them wanted to follow him. And not all of them will trade Vegas for Porsche.
I am incredibly confused and suspicious of everything about the KP ending.
But I think it's neat, that from the very start, Korn was shown playing chess like nothing, like it wasn't foreshadowing the kind of person he is.
Good job.

Ghost Host Ghost House: I didn't know what to expect, but damnnnnn not only was the series a tearjerker but also so freaking soft and romantic. You find yourself crying about the tragedies and then squealing about the romance budding amidst the pain.
Tumblr media
Blueming: Such a refreshing series. It felt the most like what it was supposed to portray. It was so simple and yet damn near perfect. The series felt the least like a BL, kind of sidestepping a bunch of tropes and making them seem more realistic. IDK how to explain it. Hwang Da Seul is just really talented.
Tumblr media
Secret Crush on You: Once you get past the cringe that is eps 1-3 then you start to realize that the series is kind of epic with great representation and support and dialogue. It's a relatable series with relevant content.
Tumblr media
Takara-kun to Amagi-kun: I wasn't expecting to love those boys so much. It's another simple series that left a huge impact. They really showcased what a first real love is supposed to be like.

what have been BLs that you felt a bit disappointed with this year?
Check Out the Series: WHACK!
The Eclipse: It just didn't hit for me the way it hit for everyone else.
Coffee Melody: It started off cute! But became boring and the main character became annoying.
Fahlanruk: Again, started off cute, but Fahlan? I couldn't stand him. He demanded so much from Sherbet and forced his way into the man's life. I just couldn't commit to him.
Mr. Unlucky Has No Choice but to Kiss: I mean. It wasn't bad, it just didn't hold my attention.
what has been your favorite BL this year?
Love in the Air: Swooped in and took the #1 spot from KP. It really wasn't even about the plot it was more about the characters for me. PayuRain and PrapaiSky were just amazing couples. The chemistry was unmatched. ALSO NO ONE TOLD ME THAT THE ACTOR THAT PLAYED SIG PLAYED DR. SING IN TRIAGE! That man could act because the stark difference in characters left it impossible for me to notice.

Between Us: WinTeam FTW. I've been waiting for this series for a long time and it has not been disappointing. BounPrem have come a long way and it shows in this series.
Tumblr media
KinnPorsche the Series: Originally I was only planning to watch KP for JeffGame, but then all that drama went down with the original production company and Game left so I was like NAH BUT THEN I SAW THE TRAILER?? This series is really what popped off Mafia themes in BL. I love some action and romance so I was not let down.

favorite BL couples (not just of 2022)
CaiReel, KinnPorsche, PayuRain, FighterTutor, PluemKevin, Phunnoh, AePete, TharnType, NubsibGene, DeYi, Hao Ting x Xi Gu, TangFei, Kurodachi, WeiLan, Wangxian, WenZhou, and Yu Zhen x Shi Lei. There are much more but we would be here a long time.
what's your non-BL favorite this year?
Kei x Yaku: I mean technically it's a bromance and I think the source content was a bromance too. The plot was thrilling and exciting and suspenseful. The chemistry was top notch. The action scenes were amazing. Like the entire series was 10/10.
Tumblr media
Heartstopper and Young Royals 2: Queer content but not Asia-based so technically not BLs. Heartstopper has excellent LGBTQ representation across the board. It's sweet and funny and the tackle a lot of topics. Young Royals is on the opposite side of the high school queer spectrum. It's filled with angst and anxiety. Follows up with Prince Wille once he returns to school and has to be in contact with his ex-boyfriend again and the people that helped facilitate their breakup.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gap the Series: I'm loving the girlies. Office romance between a newly graduated young woman and her seemingly untouchable idol/boss.
Tumblr media
MMM that's really it, the only thing I watch outside of BL is reality TV and courtroom shows.
I've done this before so IDK who to tag this time. If you see this do it and tag me!
