Please, Don't Go. - Chapter 11
Summary: There's a few moments that Obi-Wan and reader go through with some serious conversations in between.
W/C: 2.5k
Warnings: angst, implied intimacy
- - -
You were pacing nervously. The last you heard was that Qui-Gon was being pursued and Obi-Wan had sprung into action. You knew the ship had lifted off, but you weren’t sure if your other Jedi protector was alright.
So, you were in the usual meeting spot you had with Obi-Wan. You weren’t sure he’d be able to get down here, but you went there all the same. If he wasn’t able to come, then you had some time to think. You would have time to ease your worry.
When you heard the door slide open, you were faced the other way and you paused mid-pace. Turning, you were met by a sight you weren’t expecting. Beside Obi-Wan stood a young boy.
“Anakin, meet Princess Y/N Y/L/N,” Obi-Wan said as he guided the boy further into the room.
“Oh please,” you say before kneeling in front of the boy, “you can call me Y/N. It’s a pleasure to meet you Anakin.” You reached your hand out and he happily took it and shook it.
The smile on his face was large and bright. “It’s nice to meet you too,” he replied with a bubbly sounding tone.
Without much warning, he hugged you. You didn’t hesitate hugging him back. Whatever it was, you were drawn to this boy. What it was? You couldn’t say.
When Anakin pulled away he smiled, “I like you. You feel welcoming. It’s a nice change from everyone at home.”
“I’m glad you like me because I like you too,” you reply with a boop to his nose with a finger. He giggled and squirmed in the spot he stood as you wiggled your finger against his nose.
As Obi-Wan watched, his heart warmed. He wasn’t surprised you were good with children, but it was different to actually see it. One day, you would be an amazing mother. The thought darkened. If you stayed with him, you wouldn’t have that opportunity. Not unless he wanted to go against The Order even more than he already has.
He snapped back to the moment when he noticed that both you and Anakin were looking up at him. You wore a concerned expression as you clearly saw his smile fade. The look in your eyes told him you wanted to talk. Whether it was because you started having second thoughts before or it was because of seeing him, he knew you just needed to talk.
Clearing his throat, he finally spoke, “Anakin, go find Qui-Gon. If he’s in the cockpit, you should convince him to let you learn how to pilot the ship.”
“Okay!” Anakin’s face immediately brightened as he could hardly contain himself when he practically ran out the door. Obi-Wan closed it behind the boy, leaving you two in privacy once again.
“Is Qui-Gon alright? Are you alright?” you immediately questioned. Your initial worry was the Jedi Knight, but now you were worried about Obi-Wan. What could’ve happened that dropped his smile that quickly.
“Qui-Gon is fine. There is something that we discovered, but I can’t speak of it until we’re sure,” he replied. His voice was low, meaning that he was thinking of a lot more than that.
Taking the few steps, you took away the distance that was between the two of you. You needed to feel his arms around you.
He returned your embrace, but it wasn’t the same. He seemed distant, like he was second guessing what the two of you have. Please, Maker, don’t let it be that Obi-Wan was thinking of ending it.
When you pulled away, you dropped your arms from him and crossed them in front of you, almost like you would when you were sad and trying to gain comfort from yourself, while taking a step back. It pained Obi-Wan to see you distance yourself because of him. He wanted so badly to pull you into him so he could comfort you, but you clearly caught him in his thoughts.
You were the first to break the tense silence, “You want to end it. Don’t you,” you say in a pained whisper as you look at the ground. If he was going to say yes, you couldn’t bear looking into his eyes when he did. You didn’t want to see the sureness he would have in them.
Only, Obi-Wan was taken aback. He never thought that you would think that. His eyes went wide and took a small step towards you, but you only stepped back. You still weren’t looking up, so you couldn’t see his true feelings.
“Of course I’m not, dearest,” he said, reaching his hand out. He was asking silent permission to take your hand in his.
When you didn’t take it, his heart sunk a little.
“Y/N, please, at least look at me,” he pleaded. He wanted you to know he wasn’t leaving you due to the thoughts he actually had often. He did, however, want you to look in his eyes when he finally voiced these worries. Obi-Wan wanted you to know that you weren’t that he was upset, but that he was upset at himself; that he was upset that he may never be able to fulfill all of the usual things couples do.
Slowly, you lifted your eyes to his. It had taken a few moments, but you did. Obi-Wan’s heart shattered when he saw tears in your eyes. It was far from the first time, but it was the first time that he was the cause of them.
“I’m not ending it,” he started, softly. He wanted you to see just how serious he was. “You aren’t the cause of my worries. It’s myself that I’m disappointed in.”
That had gotten your attention, changing your sad countenance to one of confusion, “What do you mean,” you said shakily.
“When you saw my smile drop, it wasn’t because I was planning to leave you. You were so good with Anakin and I started thinking about how I can never make something like a family happen for you. Kriff! I can’t even properly marry you if we wanted to!” His voice began to grow louder as he expressed more and more frustration with himself.
Immense relief filled you as you realized exactly what he meant. If the two of you made it through everything, he would never be able to provide for you. Not the way he would like to. Not without breaking The Code or leaving the Jedi.
Stepping up to him, you cut him off as he was still rambling about it all by placing a hand on his cheek. You offered a sad smile, showing him that you already had thought about it.
“It’s alright, Obi. That was something that I’ve already come to terms with.”
He tried to offer at least a smirk, but he couldn’t. He hated the fact that you accepted it already. You deserved so much more. You deserved a family. You deserved a husband that you could actually love openly.
You painfully could see what was running through his mind. When he went to open his mouth to speak it, you instead kept him from voicing it and pressed your lips to his. It took him by surprise, but he kissed you back.
“I know you think I deserve more,” you say when the two of you separate, resting your foreheads together. “But I don’t want it if it means I don’t have you. Even if I never have a true family, we’re enough. You are more than enough.”
Obi-Wan almost broke right there. He almost let himself go and crumble in your arms. He almost said that he was going to give everything up for you, but you wouldn’t have that. You wanted him to stay a Jedi because you knew he loved it. You didn’t want him to change who he was just to be with you.
At the thought of just how much you thought about his future as he did yours, it was the final push.
Tears built up in his eyes and he fell into your arms. Gently, you guided him down to the floor as his face was pushing into your chest, nose pressed into your sternum. You guided him so that you were both on your knees, until Obi-Wan instead rested on a hip as he wrapped his arms around you.
Resorting to your usual method of comfort, you started to stroke the hair on the side of his head, starting just above his ear and trailing down to the nape of his neck. Your other hand gently rubbed his back. You could feel the material of your gown grow wet with Obi-Wan’s tears, but you couldn’t care. All you cared about is that he was finally letting it all out.
This was why you loved Obi-Wan so much. He not only had the ability to constantly comfort you, but he trusted you enough that he let his normally composed stature drop, allowing you to return the favour.
When he began to calm, you retrieved a handkerchief from a hidden pocket in the gown. After he pulled away, you used it to wipe his cheeks dry and handed it to him to take care of any other needs.
“Thank you.”
“I love you, Obi-Wan. That’s all that matters. I don’t need everything else if it means that I have you,” you replied, bringing a hand to cup his jaw.
Smiling, he moved his head to kiss your palm.
-
The day on Coruscant was a lonely one. Instead of joining Padmé in all of her diplomatic ventures, you stayed in your temporary apartment. Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon had taken Anakin a few hours ago, not long before the Queen of Naboo joined Senator Palpatine to address the rest of the Senate about their planet’s issue with the Trade Federation.
The time with Anakin had been amazing. Despite what he had been through as a slave, he was quite a happy boy. He was excited about every little detail of the planet as you looked out the window and pointed things out to him.
Now, though, you were alone. You were passing the time by reading a holo book before you heard a knock at the door. A little too quickly, you got up to answer it.
After pressing the button, the door slid open to reveal Obi-Wan. He quickly looked around the room, surveying for anyone else, before suddenly enveloping your lips in his. There was an eagerness behind it that the two of you hadn’t been able to act on in almost a week.
You couldn’t help but giggle, “My, my, the padawan is eager.”
“Only because this is the only night we have on this planet. Alone, if I might add,” he said between kisses, slowly removing the outer layer of your dress. You couldn’t help but move your hand to undo his belt so that you could remove his robes and tunic.
“What about-”
“I’ll tell you later,” you quickly said, cutting you off. Letting out another giggle, Obi-Wan lifted you and carried you to the bedroom.
-
You were tracing circles on his chest as his breathing was starting to even out again. The layer of sweat made the feeling of his skin the best thing you ever felt.
Obi-Wan was relishing in the feeling of your hair pressing against his chest and shoulder. Looking down at you in the soft light of the lamp, he brushed a strand behind your ear. Your eyes sparkled in the beautiful way that he knew was only for him.
“Are you going to finally tell me what happened?” you asked before pressing a kiss to his collarbone.
You pressed a few more, each one making their way up his neck.
Suddenly, he flipped you to your back, which earned a squeal from you, and he hung over you, letting out a chuckle before saying, “Not if you keep doing that. I’m afraid I would tell you something slightly different. Again.”
Giggling, you pulled him down from his position on his elbows so that you could kiss him.
“Okay,” you said with a chuckle as his lips moved back from yours, “I’ll be serious now.”
“About which part, darling?” He said in a teasing tone as he looked down at you with raised eyebrows.
Although he knew you thought that you looked like a mess, he thought that you were utterly beautiful.
“Who said that it only had to be about one,” you quipped back. Obi-Wan practically growled as he dove his lips back to yours.
-
This time, you let Obi-Wan have some time before imploring him to tell you what happened. You wanted to know if Anakin would be trained as a Jedi like he had been promised.
“Unfortunately, my prediction was correct. The council said he was too old.”
“But,” you said. You knew there was more. There was no way that his master would take no for an answer. Not when Obi-Wan had told you how much Qui-Gon studied the prophecies.
Obi-Wan chuckled, “But, my master is adamant about the boy being trained. He said that he would train him, which took me by surprise before saying I was ready for the trials.” He sighed, “I tried to step in to defend his decision, but I’m afraid I had spoken out of turn. Then, they let us leave without giving a straight answer. I know Qui-Gon will train the boy with or without the council’s permission.”
“Poor Anakin. He’s such a sweet one,” you said. Obi-Wan hummed in agreement. He had only known the boy a couple of days, but he liked the boy. Clearly, you did as well.
“I just hope they will change their minds. We don’t want anyone with that kind of signature in the force to fall onto the wrong path.”
You looked up at Obi-Wan from your place on his chest. He was staring at the ceiling, no doubt deep in thought. Lightly, you played with his padawan braid. It had been something that he’d let you do more and more as days went on.
“I’m sure, whatever way it is, Anakin will be properly trained. He deserves it,” you say before attempting to stifle a yawn.
Obi-Wan’s attention was brought back down to you, stifling his own yawn. He encouraged you to sleep as he drew patterns on your back. You were partially on top of him, and he loved it. It allowed him to feel your heartbeat not far from his.
His attention was fully on you as he watched as you drifted off. Only when he was sure you were asleep did he allow his own eyes to close. He focused on the feeling of your skin pressed to his as he let sleep overtake him.

You Belong with Me. - Anakin Skywalker x reader
Unisex.

This day started the same as any other day. You woke from your small room that was very high up in the Jedi Temple. You got out of bed and got ready for the monotonous day a head of you. You took a quick shower, got out and dried off. The only thing you took extra time on was your Padawan braid. You wore it with pride no matter how bad you hated it and couldn't wait to become a master to chop it off. Throwing your robes on quickly, you headed for the door. You only had an hour before your meeting with your master and the council. You wouldn't dare be late but you had gotten back from a mission very late the night before and hadn't eaten in days, so you headed to the dining hall to grab something quick like a meiloorun and some juice.
You had hoped to run into some friends along the way since you hadn't been home in a while. Your two best friends were Anakin and Makenna. Both extraordinary Jedi and your most favorite people in the world. But to no avail that's not who you ran into.
"(Y/N)! Oh I am so glad to see you've made it back safely!" Padmé says running up and embracing you in a rather tight hug. "When did you get in?"
"We got back last night. I would've told you but it was very late." You say breaking the hug and awkwardly crossing your arm to hold the other. You had known Padmé for a long time. You once had to escort her back to her home planet on Naboo for a mission, so you had gotten to know much about her. But it seemed no matter how polite and gentle she was a part of you was always a little intimidated by her. After all she was one of the most beautiful women in the galaxy and to top it off, a senator. You couldn't help but stare at the floor when talking to her, almost as if her beauty was blinding.
"Ani will be so glad to hear you're back." She said rubbing the arm you were holding. You suddenly sensed the feeling of worry coming from Padmé. You look up into her sorrrow felled eyes.
"What is it?" You ask. She makes a you-already-know face towards you and you bring your hand up to pinch the bridge of your nose. "The dreams again?"
"Unfortunately. But you know he won't tell me about them." She now puts her head down shaking it side to side. "It's just- I don't know why he can't talk to me, I'm his-" she smiled down at the floor shaking her head, "Apart from that I'm glad he has you! You are his best friend!" You cringe at her last sentence. You loved being Anakin's best friend but an even bigger part of you wants so much more. You've never felt in competition with Padmé because there's no contest. He would pick her every time and you couldn't blame him. She wore the most extravagant dresses credit could buy and you were in your tolerable, baggy Jedi attire.
"Okay well just tell him to come find me later." Your mind was being overcome with ill-mannered comments about how she didn't deserve him but you kept quiet. "Shall I escort you to the dining hall?" You hold your arm out to walk Padmé down the long corridor to the dining hall.
"Oh this is perfect! I was just heading that way to speak with Ani. You may join us." Padmé says as if you had no choice, but you didn't like being around them when they were together. You were consumed with jealousy when he, or she, made advances towards one another. Anakin would always look at her so lovingly as he caressed Padmé face, she'd blush and reveal her bewitching smile. Neither of them knew your feeling a towards Anakin. You pushed your feelings deep deep down but you were afraid if you got too jealous you wouldn't be able to stop Anakin from sensing your emotions.
"Thank you for the offer, Padmé. But I'm going to be in a bit of a rush seeing as though I have a meeting with the council in just a few minutes, so I'm just gonna sit by myself to not distract myself." What you said didn't make sense in your head and it didn't sound any better coming out. You didn't know what else to tell her though. Hey Padmé I can't sit with you because I'm madly in love with your boyfriend. Absolutely not.
"Oh, okay! That's fine. I'll just have him find you later." You could sense something was off about Padmé again but this time you weren't sure what.
Once you got into the dining hall your eyes overtly go to Anakin sitting by himself. Your breath hitched in your throat at the mere sight of him. You started to feel your cheeks warm up as you blush. You then clear your throat and tell Padmé goodbye before she makes her way to Anakin. You grabbed your breakfast and sat just behind them at another table. You didn't want to sit with them but you wanted to hear their conversation.
Padmé was upset with him, that much you knew. She kept saying things like; you always do this, how dare you and even sometimes I question our alliance.
She was talking about their marriage. She doesn't know you know about their marriage but you did. When Anakin told you he was so happy. You faked it for hours then finally excused yourself to your room and almost drown in your own tears. He talked about wanting to marry her but that's not the Jedi way so you thought nothing of it. You didn't talk to either of them for weeks. Your master knew of your feelings for Anakin, so she helped you out by telling them you were on a mission when in reality you were so emotionally weak you could barely move a muscle.
"Hey you're back!" You heard your friend Makenna from over your shoulder. You shushed her still trying to ease drop on Anakin and Padmé. "Oh shit what'd I miss?" She asked trying to get the dirt on their relationship. Makenna also knew about their marriage because you told her. You had to tell her. You weren't eating, you weren't sleeping and her being your best friend you couldn't keep it from her any longer.
"They're fighting." You say in a hushed tone.
"Oh yeah. They've been fighting for weeks now. Ever since you left actually." Makenna said.
"Do you know why?" You ask out of curiosity.
"Just Anakin being Anakin. I heard that he has been disagreeing with the council again and," she got closer to your ear to whisper a little softer, "he's been disappearing randomly. Like he's supposed to be on a mission right now with Obi-Wan, but no one could find him. He's in a lot of trouble right now and Padmé has been livid. They're constantly at each other's throats."  Makenna took a sip of your juice after telling you the recent gossip. Your stomach twisted at the emotions you could feel coming from Anakin. He was stressed, anxious, tired and furious all at the same time. The tension made you feel sick.  You turned your focus back to Makenna to distract yourself from getting sick.
"Doesn't help that he's having the dreams again." You say making her eyes grow huge.
"Again?! What of this time?" She asked.
"I don't know yet. Padmé just filled me in on it. She says he won't talk to her about them, as usual. If he can't even open up to her then why is he with her? Can't he see that I'm the one who understands him?" You say putting your head down now starring at the table. You start to think back to the nights when Anakin would cry himself to sleep in your bed. How you'd comb through is hair with your fingers and watch him sleep. He never slept peacefully but there were those few seconds in between his conscious and unconscious state. Where his head was filled with nothing but the peace of silence, before the dreaming and after the breakdown. Those were the little moments you lived for with Anakin. I wondered if Padmé had every really looked at him the way you do. You doubted it though. Seeing as their relationship is so hidden it's almost like they keep it a secret from each other as well. They always asked for you to join them in whatever they were doing because they didn't like being alone together. And Anakin isn't the only one who keeps secrets in that toxic relationship. He tells you all the time about the secrets she keeps in her head. He, sometimes, even reads her mind because the deceitfulness becomes too much to bare. At this point you're starring at them. They're still fighting but they're covering it up with fake smiles.
"Hey?" Makenna says nudging your arm, "He's a boy. Chosen one or not. And boys are stupid. They see one pretty girl and think they're in love. You and I clearly know that he should be with you but he's not because he's a stupid boy. So, get over him, move on. Stop letting him hold you back from living your life, (Y/N)." Makenna started rubbing your back soothingly and you nodded towards her. She was right. Anakin never showed interest in you and only came to you for his problems. No more.
"You know what? You're right." You say standing up now. "I- I have been living in Padmé's shadow trying to compete and for what? He has never looked at me twice. I'm done. You say angrily in a hushed tone trying not to draw attention. "Thank you, my friend. I have to go now. I have a stupid council meeting." You rub her shoulder in gratitude and head out of the dining hall. When you open the doors to the corridor it almost felt as though you were walking into your new life. A life of no Anakin. It definitely scarred you but it also felt like something you should've done a long time ago.
—————— Night Time
After the council meeting you had a very good day. Your master gave you the day to do as you pleased sense you had been on your last mission for so long. So you just did stuff to kill time and to avoid Padmé and Anakin. Neither of them ever really went to the training arena so that's where you spent most of the day. You trained along side a fellow Padawan, Kham. Kham was a couple inches taller than you but not quite as tall as Anakin. He had darker hair and blue eyes that went with his beautiful dark complexion. It had been rumored for a while that he had a crush on you but you never got that vibe from him. To you you guys were nothing more than just friends.
After training and hanging out for a while he asked if he could walk you back to your apartment. You said yes not wanting to be rude and to also not walk alone. You guys were telling corny jokes and making each other laugh until you got to your front door. There sat Anakin against the wall awaiting your arrival. When he looked up to see you walking with Kham you saw his face contort into a rage. Was he jealous? No he couldn't be. What was there to be jealous of? You were you and nothing more than a best friend to him.
"Anakin." You say greeting him with a nod. For once you weren't happy to see him. At this point you wouldn't mind if you never saw him again. Just the sight of him enraged you.
"(Y/N)." he said back to you in an angered tone, "Kham." He greeted Kham as well. "I've been waiting here for well over an hour." He spat at you as if to make you feel bad. Kham felt the tension between the two of you.
"Okay, I'm gonna go. Anakin," he nodded. "Good to see you and (Y/N) I'll see you tomorrow." He says giving you a sweet smile. You smile back in response and he leaves you with Anakin. Great.
"Why didn't you tell me you were home. I had to find out from Padmé." He says jumping right into an argument.
"Sorry dad we got back late." You say.
"What's tomorrow?" Anakin asked. In reference to what Kham had said to you.
"A word to describe the upcoming day." You say sarcastically knowing exactly how he'd respond. You didn't care though. You simply walked past him and into your apartment.
"You know exactly what I mean. What is wrong with you?" He asks annoyed with your new attitude towards him.
"Are you really here to find out what's wrong with me or for me to be your emotional support blanket? Come here Ani let me soak up every ounce of frustration and anger you feel so you can feel better about yourself." You're tone had gotten louder. You didn't care if the entire temple could hear you. You were just glad that you were finally sticking up for yourself.
"Oh, so now my emotions annoy you?" He says way too dramatically for your taste.
"No Anakin that's not what I'm saying. I'm annoyed that that's all we talk about now. Ever sense Padmé came into the picture all I get from you is your emotional, sad, depressed state and the second you feel better you run right back to her. I'm exhausted Ani. I'm exhausted. I can't do this anymore." You say turning your back to him to not show him the tears you're holding back.
"Well, if that's how you feel then fine. I'll go." You could hear him head to the door but you wanted him to hear everything you had to say because you didn't know if you'd have the guts to say it again.
"You know- I used to think you hung the goddamn moon and all the stars, Ani. I so obviously loved you and you couldn't careless. For years I have been by your side through all your ups and downs and I got nothing in return. You never greet me when I come home from missions but oh- I didn't show up one time when you came home and you didn't talk to me for a week. So you go Anakin because I'm done. I can't take it anymore of this emotional abuse. I- I can't." You could feel the pooling tears in your eyes start to full. The tears you wept were not for him but for you. They symbolized everything you held back from him all these years. You were overwhelmed but relieved to finally be done with the charade and excited to be your own person again, if you ever were to begin with.
Anakin was frozen in his tracks still looking at the door. You cried silently not wanting him to stay and comfort you. You also knew he needed time to process everything you just told him. You'd never talked to Anakin that way and you wish you didn't have to. You wondered if he would indeed just leave. You wondered if he'd say absolutely nothing and walk out the door. But he didn't. All Anakin did was turn swiftly on his feet. Now starring at you he puts one foot in front of the other as if he was going to walk over to you. He stops as if he were still numb by your words.
"You think after all this time I didn't know you loved me? If you didn't love me why would you stay up with me all those nights just to talk? I've always known." He pauses for a moment. You just stare at him in confusion. Were your feelings a game to him? You wondered unto he spoke again. "Even after all this time and all those late nights you never once realized how crazy an- and insanely in love I am with you?" You gasped at his words throwing your hand over your mouth. "I never show up when you come home because I get too nerves to see you and when you come home hurt I- I lose my mind. When you didn't show up that one time I thought you needed space. When I saw you with Kham I almost lost it." Everything he said was music to your ears except the last part. He's jealous of a guy you're not even dating?
"Your jealous of Kham? That's funny, um, how about your wife? How do you think that makes me feel? I have to see you guys together constantly. If you love me so much then why do you torture me? Why did you marry her?" You wipe a tear away aggressively trying to appear stronger than you feel.
"Because I don't have to worry about her as much. Before her you're all I thought about day and night, which I still do. I thought being with her would help me get over you. Every time you go on a mission I'm scarred it'll be your last. I can't think straight or concentrate on anything when you're gone. You're my rock." He walked towards you now at a steady pace. Your tempted to take a step back but you don't. You just stare at Anakin until he fills in the empty space between you.
"I love you, (Y/N). I have always loved you."
You say nothing in response. You just do the one thing you'd been dying to do since you met. You kissed him. You kissed him in a way that cannot be described with words. Butterflies ran all through your body. Your head now feeling dizzy from all the passion and emotion that seeped from your mouth into his. He did not hesitate to kiss you back in this long awaited kiss either. You felt him smile on your lips which made you giggle. You nuzzled you're head into his chest and he enveloped his arms around your lower back. You were over come with joy now knowing that your best friend, Anakin Skywalker, the chosen one, was in love with you. You picked your head up to stare into his beautiful blue orbs.
"I love you, Ani." He just smirked down at you and kissed you ones again.

Beside the point that Obi-Wan wasn’t supposed to have romantic feelings for anyone, he was surely not supposed to have romantic feelings for his padawans friend who was quite a few years his junior. Alas however, that was what his heart now desired and every time you came around to see Anakin his heart stopped for a moment.
You were intelligent and if he was saying so, more compatible with him than Anakin was. He found you were always on the same wavelength about things, Jedi training wise along with just random stuff that came up in conversation. You were still a Jedi in training and he promised himself he would do nothing to sabotage your dreams of climbing up the ranks.
Still though, he couldn’t deny his feelings for you. Well he could but it was getting harder by the day. The more he saw you the more difficult it got.
“I hope you don’t mind that I’ve asked Y/N to join us today Master, her teacher is out on a mission that she couldn’t come to,” Anakin said as they stood in the elevator going down to the training rooms. Obi-Wan nearly choked on his saliva. It took him a moment to answer his padawan.
“That's fine,” was all he managed out.
Anakin was well aware of his Masters growing feelings for you and because he was so inthralld in Padme he figured it might be good for Obi-Wan. Not to mention he was also able to catch the way that you looked at him. You were both so intensely into each other sometimes Anakin felt like he was being inappropriate when he was in the room with you two.
The tension was unbearable. He hoped he wasn’t so obvious with Padme.
The two of them walked down the hall to the regular large room they trained at. You sat on one of the training mats, messing with your lightsaber, watching the blue move back and forth in front of you. At the sight of the two boys you stopped, smiling and putting your lightsaber down.
“Anakin!” you said, walking over and giving him a brief hug. It the best way to have an excuse to touch Obi-Wan if you hugged Anakin first.
“Obi-Wan, thank you so much for allowing me to join you today,” you said with a small smile and gave him a brief hug. Anakin rolled his eyes at his Masters flustered ways when he hugged you back.
“Of course, it's always a pleasure to have someone who listens to me at these sessions,” he joked, a charming smile on his face. Anakin moved across the room to the other side and sat on one of the mats while the two of you flirted for a moment.
The session went on for a long while of Obi-Wan just showing you and Anakin the few movements that you needed fixing in your stance and then you practiced together. You beat Anakin more times than he beat you but he was also tired and you were also trying to show off. There was a mutual agreement there that went unspoken.
“Anakin you need to plant your feet before making that swing, it opens your side for an attack,” Obi-Wan told him sternly. You stood back and put your lightsaber in the hilt, seeing from the clock that the session was to be over soon.
“Well than you fight her Master,” Anakin huffed, tired of having to be in the middle of the tension but also hoping it was the day the two of you would get together. A blush formed on Obi-Wan's face that was subtle but there.
“That's hardly appro-”
“Oh come on Obi-Wan. Don’t think you can handle it old man?” you teased and he raised an eyebrow. He knew you were trying to agitate him and it was working well. Anakin smiled at your words and moved off the mat.
“Well if you say it like that.” Obi-Wan brought out his lightsaber and the blue light rivaled your own, the soft hum able to over take your light nervous breathing.
“Don’t go easy on me sweetheart,” you teased. A charming smirk came over his face and he pounced where you deflected, on the defensive immediately. Anakin put his head in his palm as he sat on the floor, watching the two of you. You both moved with an easy grace against one another. Your lightsabers caught each other in front of you and you tried not to look at him through the blue glow in front of you two. Eventually you raised your arm, catching him in a weak spot while he looked at your face. You both stumbled away from one another, shaken by the force behind one anothers blow.
“It's a draw. I have to go meet a Senator,” Anakin said, standing. You didn’t look at him, instead at your lightsaber in your hand that you had closed but was still slightly shaking from the force you and Obi-Wan had been fighting out.
“You’re very skillful Y/N,” Obi-Wan said, practically ignoring his own padawan as Anakin left the room. You chuckled and met his eyes.
“You aren’t all bad either General Kenobi.” Your voice drawled out unintentionally but seeing his eyebrow raise at you calling him General made you glad you did. You walked closer to him, boots hitting the floor lightly. You had never been alone in the room with him before.
“Just Obi-Wan is fine,” he said smoothly, practically fully masking his feelings at you being so close to him in a room alone. Boldly, you stepped forward again grabbing his lightsaber from the hilt on his hip. Your fingers brushed his side and while both of you pretending not to notice it was obvious you both felt it.
“I have a book that I was wondering if you could take back to the council for me. I’m busy this afternoon and I understand you have a meeting?” He nodded and took his lightsaber back from you. You whined a bit unintentionally.
“Of course. Do you have it with you?”
“It's back in my chambers. It will only be a minute I promise.” You stepped back and toward the door opening. He nodded, following you out. You walked side by side to your room.
When you got there and the door shut behind the two of you, you grabbed the book off of your nightstand and stared at it, unable to give it to him for a moment. He watched the gears turning in your head.
“What is it?” he asked, stepping forward and placing a hand on your arm. You turn your head to look at him, smiling a bit.
“I know Jedi aren’t supposed to have feelings for others but I’m a little distraught about that rule,” you say as though it was a joke but he could hear the seriousness in your voice. His heart dropped a bit, selfishly hoping you were talking about him but sure you were talking about Anakin,
“It's a hard rule to live by.” You hesitated.
“Have you ever ...had feelings for another Jedi?” He let go of your arm and tried to look natural.
“Yes,” he breathed. Your eyes widened and your heart strings tugged.
“Who?” you whispered. He shook his head but was unable to back away from you.
“I shouldn’t-”
“Obi-Wan please.” Your voice sounded so mature in that moment as you pleaded with him. Like you had grown so tired after years of living.
“You.” His voice was barely audible but you caught it because you were looking for it. He waited a moment to hear your rejection and when it didn’t come he was going to speak again but you were setting the book down on your nightstand. He opened his mouth to ask what you were doing but your lips crashed onto his and he promptly closed them, gripping your sides to steady the both of you.
You shoved him onto the bed with a hard force and he didn’t have time to make a snarky comment before your lips were back on his. You sat on top of him, hands running through his hair as you kissed him roughly. You pulled away to look at him and make sure he was alright, that you weren’t doing anything he didn’t want.
“Oh don’t stop now,” he muttered with a snarky smile. You rolled your eyes and worked on his complicated outfit and getting it off, desperate to find more skin. If you didn’t have one just like it would have taken forever.
You laughed a little as he grabbed your own robes and you were both frustrated in getting one another's clothes off.
“This is the reason Jedi shouldn’t have sex, these damn robes,” you joked and he sat up, you still sitting on top of him. He finally made a breakthrough and your were naked other than your bra and underwear. He undid your hairdo just by kissing you again and roaming his hands through your hair. You finally kicked his clothes off as well as he kissed you.
Feeling your hands on his body made him feel a fierce urgency he had never felt before. A sense of need, needing to be in you, needing to be one with you. Your lips moved down his neck and he undid your bra through a moan while you grind your hips against his crotch.
He was done waiting. He had waited so long for this moment, for sure nothing was going to happen. But here you were, on top of him, your lips leaving sloppy kisses on his bare skin. He would have thrown out his lightsaber and his Jedi status if it meant you would never stop.
“I need you General Kenobi,” you muttered as you pulled away from his neck. He made a noise that sounded like a moan just at your words.
“What are you doing to me,” he whispered and you smiled, pulling off him and sliding off your last bit of clothes. He shrugged off his as well and you connected your lips to his again hungrily. He took his hand and lined himself up with you and you slowly sat down on him. You gasped in unison to the feeling and you clung to each other, your hands gripped his built shoulders and his hands on yours lips, nails digging into your skin.
“Y/N,” he muttered and you nodded, moving up and down, creating a pace. You moved a hand up to move his hair out of his face and stared at him as you moved, him staring right back. You kissed him again briefly and then stuck your head in the crook of his neck. Neither of you lasted very long and you came together, shaking against one another.
After a moment you pulled off him and you both collapsed on the bed beside each other. He threw an arm around you and snuggled closer to him, despite both of you being sweaty and tired from training and sex.
You put an arm around his stomach and traced lines into his chest with your finger. There was a moment of content silence as you came down and processed what just happened.
“Should we have done that?” he whispered. You laughed lowly and looked up at him.
“Well we can’t take it back now.” He shrugged.
“I liked it. Very much,” he said chuckling. You laughed a bit too, finger going up to his chin and then back down to his chest.
“I like you very much.” He smiled dreamily.
“You don’t care I’m...older than you?” You rolled your eyes.
“Sweetheart that is the least of our problems,” you said with a smile. He nodded, understanding. He seemed calmer now that he knew how you felt. Now that he had you in his arms.
“We can make it work.”
“Oh yes we can.” You sat up, looking down at him. He propped himself up with his elbow. “And you know what, I may be training with you and Anakin more. My Master is supposed to be gone for a few months. Very important mission.” He looked at you for a moment and then you smiled sneakily. “You did that. Oh my Maker, you sent her on a mission!” you said laughing. He shrugged.
“I didn’t know we would end up here but in hindsight I sure hoped we would.” You got up and grabbed his robe, putting it over your bare body. It was big on you, the sleeves falling over your fingers.
“You have a council meeting and I will be here when you return. I’ve stolen your robe so you have to come back.” You threw him his other clothes and he started to put them back on.
“I would have come back either way. You’re officially stuck to my side.” You smiled and handed him your book.
“Oh darn what am I gonna do?” you teased. He kissed you softly when he was fully clothed and you melted into his lips, cursing when he pulled away.
“I’ll see you later,” he whispered dreamily.
“Later General Kenobi.” He gave you a look and then the door clicked behind him. He walked down the hall a ways and didn’t even notice when he ran into Anakin. His padawan held up his hands to steady Obi-Wan.
“Focus on your surroundings Master,” he joked as Obi-Wan regained his composure.
“Thank you Anakin,” he said snarkily. Anakin was about to walk away when he caught a mark on his Masters neck that made him pause. He lifted up his hand and touched it, making Obi-Wan pull away, annoyed.
“Maker, you and Y/N-”
“Anakin Skywalker I will-”
“Well at least cover it. Where's your robe?” Obi-Wan didn’t meet Anakin's eyes, cursing himself for being so sloppy. He had just been so caught up in the moment. Anakin laughed, taking off his robe and handing it to Obi-Wan who took it with a sour look.
“Thank you,” he stammered. Anakin smiled.
“Anytime.”

chapter 27 of So Happy Together
26: https://mysteryofren.tumblr.com/post/618810659365371904/a-power-all-to-your-own
note: chapter after this is so fucking fluffy, and low key drama filled at the end. also some fluff in here too ahhh
possible tw: mentions of death
Today was the day. You woke up early. All the first order agreed to meet at your grandfathers since the venue was closer to his house. Elaine wanted to get ready at his house as well. During the week you caught up with Rey, and talked about prom. She told you she was meeting Ben there which made you sad. That's when you talked to Elaine about her getting ready with the both of you. She agreed saying the thought of that made her sad too. You both packed what you needed, and went to get Rey. Once she was ready, you all piled into your car. First you all stopped at a store for a few things, then made your way to your grandfathers. When you arrived he wasn’t home yet. You all walked in. you looked around, and there weren't any notes telling you where he was. You figured he had some last minute work to do before tonight.
After you all got to the house you went inside for a bit. You let Gideon out, and played with him for a few minutes before Rey, and Elaine got you so all of you could grab the things out of the car. First you took in your dresses. You hung them up in your closet, and went back down for your makeup, and hair stuff. Even though she wasn't going Phasma still wanted to come help you all get ready. Once she arrived you all got started. Rey had chosen a simple style. She just wanted to straighten her hair, and call it a night. Elaine was doing an updo that needed her hair to sit in curlers. You and Phas worked on getting them in while Rey worked on her own hair. Finally you, and Phasma got all the curlers in her hair, and you heard a car door slam. Your grandfather was home, and you ran down stairs to see him.
“I figured you might be taking a while to get ready so I went and got you girls some snacks.” he held up a box from Amilyns cafe, and you smiled.
“Thank you so much! We were thinking about ordering food.”
“Well I'm glad I could save the day.” you hugged him careful not to knock the box out of his hands.
“Reys upstairs too, do you want to come say hi?” you asked him while taking the Box out of his hands.
“No, I would rather see you all when you're done getting ready. I want to be surprised.”
“Alright no problem.” you went to go back upstairs when he called your name.
“There's something I want to give you.” he motioned for you to follow him, and you did. He brought you up to his room. There was a box sitting on his bed. It was dusty. You could tell he had gotten it from the basement. He walked over to your grandmother's old vanity. On it sat a big dark blue velvet box. He picked it up, and took it over to you.
You placed the box from Amilyn’s down on the bed, and took the one he was holding out to you. Slowly you opened it, and sitting in it was a small diamond necklace, with matching earrings. It felt like all the air left your body. You recognized this set. You had seen it so many times in pictures, and a few times in real life when you were a kid.
“Are you sure?” you asked him.
“Positive. I gave this to your grandmother to wear for our wedding. Now I want you to have it. I want you to see you wear it, and make it more beautiful than she did.”  You closed the box, and pushed it back towards him.
“I want to wear it for my wedding.” you said trying to choke back tears.
“My dear, I love you, but I'm old. I may not see you get married.”
“Don't say that.” you whispered while a tear made its way down your face.
“It's true. I may not live to see you get married, but I'm here now. And there is nothing I would love more than to see you wear this.”  you hugged him, and he hugged back. He gently rubbed your back while you held on to him tight. You pulled away, and took the box out of his hands. You opened it again, and looked at it.
“I had to search the basement for a week to find this box. I took it to get cleaned as well. I wanted it to look just like it did the day me and her got married.”
“It's beautiful.”
“Just like you my dear.” He kissed your head.
“What about Rey?” You asked.
“Rey more than likely has jewelry. I know you. I didn't expect you to buy anything too expensive, but it's a special occasion. You deserve to wear something special.”  just then you heard Phasma call your name. You had to get back. You hug, and kiss your grandfather one more time before taking both boxes to your room where you all were.
You walked into the room, and held up the box of food. Everyone stopped getting ready, and looked inside it. Your grandfather had remembered everyone's favorite item. He got Rey her banana bread, Phasma her coffee cake, and he got you and Elaine a chocolate croissant. You all sat in different places, and ate while you all talked. Phasma and Elaine sat in front of the vanity while you and Rey sat on your bed.
“What's in the other box?” Rey asked while picking it up.
“Oh lemme show you!” you put your food down, and took the box from her. You stood up, and moved into a position where everyone could see. You slowly opened the box, and showed everyone the necklace, and earrings.
“Is that-” Rey said quietly before Elaine interrupted.
“Satines wedding gift?” Elaine asked.
“Yeah. she always wore it on special occasions, and he wants me to wear it for tonight.”
“She always looked amazing wearing those.” Elaine said
“She knew our grandmother?”
“Only for a year or two. I saw her wear it once or twice, but I've mostly seen it in pictures. Obi-Wan has em hung around the house. He told us the story about the night he gave it to her.”
“So he gave it to you tonight?” Rey asked you.
“Yeah. He knew I wasn't going to wear any special jewelry tonight so he gave it to me.”
Elaine, and Phasma got closer to examine it. You looked at Rey who looked a bit sad. She wasn't as close to them as you were. She didn't have to be around as much. You knew something in her was disappointed that she didn't get anything of hers. A part of you felt that it made sense. She didn't show up to her funeral, or even try to see her before she passed. Another part of you felt like she should still have something to honor her. After the girls had gotten done looking at it they went back to eat, and you sat back down on the bed.
Once you were done eating you all continued getting ready. You, Phasma, and Rey got the curlers out of Elaines hair. You all helped her get into her dress, and when she was in you all worked together to get her hair done. It only took about an hour to get it right. You sat down at the vanity, and started your makeup while Phasma curled your hair. Rey, and Elaine worked on each other's makeup as you did yours. Your hair was pretty simple, Phasma curled your hair, and then pinned some of them up, and back.
Your makeup was also pretty simple. You did just a simple cut crease, with the eye shadow matching your dress, and a bit of glitter in the cut crease. You looked at the time, and saw it was almost time for the boys to arrive. Phasma helped you into your dress, and then you helped Rey into hers. She had chosen a dress that went with the school theme. Her dress had a nude lining, with star netting over top. Gold, and silver stars were scattered across the dress. Like your dress it had a train, but hers also had long wings draping over the shoulders. He had on gold eye makeup to match it. You all started getting your accessories on. When you opened the box holding your mamas jewelry. You Looked over at Rey.
“Hey,” you said.”I really like the Earrings I chose to go with my dress. Do you wanna wear her earrings?”
“Are you sure? They're supposed to go together.” she said.
“Im positive. We’ll just have to stay close to each other.” you joked as you took the earrings out, and placed them in her hand. She smiled at them, before reaching over, and hugging you. You watched as she put them in, and admired them. You took the necklace out, and went to put them on when Phasma took it.
“Don't worry, I'll get it on.” she placed it gently around your neck, and clasped it. You looked at it as it sat against your collarbone. It looked so delicate. You were almost afraid to wear it. You continued putting your jewelry on, and soon you all were ready. You heard a few car doors slam, and you looked outside. Yours, and Rey's parents had just gotten to the house, and they headed inside. You told Rey they were here, and you all got up and headed downstairs.
One by one you all walked down, and everyone watched. Rey's dad was crying a bit. All he kept saying was how grown, and beautiful she looked. Your parents stayed dry eyed. They had seen you in formal attire plenty of times before. Your pop pop on the other hand was silently crying. You looked at him while tears fell down his face. He looked at Rey then back to you. You ran over to him,and gave him a hug.
“You look absolutely divine, My dear. The heavens couldn't make something as beautiful as you.” He said as he placed a hand on your face. He brought you close, and kissed your head, careful not to let the tears mess up your makeup.
“It looks better than it did in the store.” your mom said. You turned and looked at her.
“Thank you mother.” her, and your father walked over to give you a hug.
“Elaine.” your grandfather said. “Your parents are devastated that they can't be here, but I assured them I would take plenty of photos, so forgive me if I insist.”
“It's ok, Obi-Wan.” she replied as she walked over, and hugged him. You all talked, and your parents started taking pictures of you all. After only a few you heard a car pull up outside. You went over to open the door, and saw the boys getting out of a limo. Along with them was Ben. great. You watched as they all smoothed out the small wrinkles in their suits, and spoke. Matt looked up and smiled when he saw you. He hit Hux’s chest to get his attention when he pointed at you.
He looked at you in a way you had only dreamed someone would. Ben looked up along with him. They both stared at you like you had just come down from heaven. They watched as you walked over to them with a smile on your face. Once you got over to them Hux stayed staring at you. You were going to say something when you were interrupted by Matt. He grabbed Hux by the shoulder and shook him a bit.
“Dude breath, you gotta breath Man.” he looked over to Ben, and did the same.
“You too dumbass, you gotta breath.”
Hux took in a deep breath and hugged you.
“You look absolutely amazing.” he said.
“You look pretty good yourself.” you replied with a smile.
Your grandfather walked out, and greeted the boys. He led them inside where everyone else was. Upon walking inside you heard Rey call Ben’s name. He looked confused that she was there. She looked angry that he was there. They both walked outside to talk about it. You saw them yelling at each other, when you heard Matt gasp. He was standing in front of Elaine, and looking at her. He had that signature goofy look on his face as he looked her up and down taking in the woman before him. You quickly grabbed his camera, and took a picture of both on them making sure to get his reaction in the photo. After it developed you handed it over to Elaine before walking up behind Matt.
“Was it you who said ‘you gotta breath man’?” you asked jokingly.
“Yes, but if I were to die right now I would be more than happy knowing I died seeing her like this.” Elaine hugged him, and they both got to talking just then you went, and grabbed Hux who was talking to your grandfather.
“Sorry pop pop I have to introduce him to Mother, and Father.” he nodded, and went off to talk with Phas, and Rey’s parents. You grab Hux’s hand, and take him over to your parents as they stand off to the side alone talking to each other.
“Mother, father. This is Armitage Hux.” your mother held her hand out to him to shake it. He grabbed it, and gave her a kiss on the top of her hand.
“It’s good to finally see where Y/N gets all her beauty from.” oh he's good. If there's anything your mother loves its compliments. She gave him a big smile as she took her hand back.
“Oh my. Y/N you never told me how charming he was.”
“Hello. I’ve heard a lot about you from your father.” you heard your dad say.
“I can assure you my father is biased, but I'd very much like to prove to you that I'm worthy of your daughter's company.” Hux held his hand out to your father. He reluctantly took it, and you could see how he was gripping his hand. Hux’s face didn't convey that he was holding his hand hard enough to break it.
“You both raised a fine young woman. Y/N is an exceptional person, and I'm glad I have the pleasure of knowing her.” your mother smiled again while your father stayed staring at him. You could tell he’s easily got your mother's love, but you knew if Brendol talked to your father he didn't say anything nice. You heard a door slam, and Rey walked in. she looked upset. You ran over to her.
You both talked for a few minutes before she ran upstairs. Apparently Ben told her he couldn’t pick her up, because he had something he had to do before. Coming here is what he wanted to do, but he wasn't expecting her here at all. You stood in place for a moment. Everyone was talking to one another so nobody would notice you slip away. You walked outside to where Ben was standing. He was tossing a ball to Gideon, and watching him run after it. You cleared your throat to make your presence clear to him. He turned around, and gave you a weak smile.
“Hey, kid.” he said.
“What are you doing here, Ben?” his smile left his face, and he turned back around.
“You’re being stupid. She loves you. She would do anything for you, and you treat her like this. Like she doesn't matter. Like she doesn't exist.”
“Since when do you care about her, huh?” he turned around to face you.
“She hated you. She wished so many things would happen to you. Why are you defending her?”
“Because we're friends now. You have been so caught up in you, and what you want that you never realized we worked our problems out. She wants you Ben, and the least you could do is act like you want her too.”
“What if i don't want her?”
“Then what do you want Ben?”
“I want you. I want you to-.”
He stopped mid sentence. His eyes looking directly into yours.
“Want me to what?”
“To be mine.”

A Love Like Ours [Chapter 1]
Fandom: Star Wars Pairing: Rey x Poe Dameron Rating: T Words: 1009 Notes: A series of drabbles and short stories based on a prompt list. Every drabble/short story is different, chapter 1 in AO3 is the list. Today prompts are 9.- “You can’t banish me! This is my bed too!” & 12.- “You’re getting crumbs all over my bed.” For any and all DameRey fans. Enjoy!
The Series | Read @ AO3
Poe Dameron has the best sort of relationship problem. Because it wasn’t really a problem, just a small annoyance; but one he liked to tease Rey with. Rey liked eating on their bed.
Tonight was Christmas Eve and Rey had gone to bed earlier, Poe had chosen to stay up later so he could talk to his dad. His father had taken Han and Leia’s invitation and had chosen to spend Christmas in Colorado, with the excuse that he wanted to enjoy the snow with older people.
Rey and Poe had chosen to stay behind, so Rey’s grandfather, Obi-Wan, would not spend Christmas alone now that he was getting on in age. So, Poe and Rey offered to host him and now, he was sleeping on one of their guest bedrooms.
“I know pa,” Poe spoke to the phone as he switched channels idly. “Don’t you worry, we’re fine. Yes, I made dinner, no Rey only helped with the chopping. Bless her, she’s completely lost in the kitchen. Obi-Wan is asleep now. How are Han and Leia? Having a good time in the snow?”
Poe listened as his father spoke to him, yes, he missed Kes, but they would see each other soon. And by the sound of his voice, his father was quite animated and obviously having a good time. Poe was glad of it, his father deserved to have fun and enjoy himself. Poe had not said anything, but Rey and himself were trying for a baby and he knew that, when it happened and the baby were here, Kes would be over the moon for his grandchild and spend his love, energy and time spoiling the kid.
“Sounds fun pa,” Poe smiled even if Kes couldn’t see it. “Glad you’re having fun. Rey? In bed… no, I just wanted to talk to you, I promise. Ok, fine. I can’t believe that I’m letting you send me to bed. No pa, don’t worry about it. Goodnight, I love you too.”
Poe hung up and set his phone next to him, it wasn’t terribly late yet. He could still stay and watch something else without bothering Rey. He sat up when he felt something hit his legs. Beebee. Poe relaxed and bent to scratch the corgi’s head. Then looked at the television, re-runs of Christmas shows, he turned it off. He stood up. “Goodnight buddy.”
Poe climbed the stairs as silently as he could, not wanting to disturb either sleeping person. But as he came closer to the room that he shared with Rey, he could hear the soft sounds of television and something else. Poe narrowed his eyes. Then, with care, opened the door to the room and as soon as he did, he rolled his eyes.
Rey was up, box of butter cookies in her lap, happily munching away as she watched ‘Murder, She Wrote’ re-runs. He coughed and when Rey turned, he nearly burst out laughing. Rey’s face was a mixture of surprise and full cheeks. She looked adorable. But… crumbs on the bed. He arched his eyebrow, looked pointedly at the bed. “You’re getting crumbs all over my bed. And here I was thinking, that we had banned food on the bed.”
Rey swallowed the cookie and shook her head. “I didn’t. You did.”
Poe walked into their room and closed the door, once inside, he began to undress. Being a military man had left him some routines. Undressing, folding his clothes and pajamas was something he did on autopilot. “For a reason. It can be annoying to find crumbs in the bed.”
“It’s only on my side, though.”
“Ah, but we sometimes aren’t simply on one side, are we?” Poe threw Rey a flirty smirk and wink. Relishing as Rey’s cheeks flushed, even in the low light of the television, he could see it.
“Honestly Poe.”
Poe climbed into his side of the bed. “Oh and Rey? You’re banned from our bed for a week.” He turned and gave her his back, biting down a laugh as he heard her sputter indignantly.
“You can’t banish me! This is my bed too!”
“Well, I just did. Goodnight love, enjoy the guest bedroom.” He closed his eyes, thinking of boring things, avoiding to laugh at Rey’s obvious indignation.
“Poe Dameron, you simply can’t banish me from our bed!”
“Well, I just did. Goodnight Rey, sleep well sweetheart. Turn the tv off when you leave.” He finished speaking and pretended to be asleep. Fully aware of Rey glaring daggers at his back. Then he felt her move, she left the bed and nearly stomped out of the room. Poe allowed himself a chuckle.
A few minutes later, Rey came back and began making noise. It was very clearly the hand vacuum they owned. Now he understood why Obi-Wan had gifted it after they had bought the house. Poe didn’t speak and neither did Rey. The only noise came from the tv and vacuum. Then, a few - very long - minutes later, Rey turned the vacuum off.
“All clean, unbanish me.”
Poe couldn’t help it, he burst out laughing and got a pillow to his head for his troubles. “Ok, fine. Unbanished.”
Poe felt the bed dip and Rey climb in, “You’re a mean one Mr. Dameron.”
“I just want the bed free of crumbs, sweetheart,” Poe said, still chuckling. “But since you cleaned up, that’s fine.” He turned towards Rey and opened his arms, Rey didn’t waste any time to cuddle with him. “Let’s sleep, we have presents to open tomorrow.”
“Goodnight Poe,” Rey said as she yawned. “I love you.”
“I know. I love you too.”
***
The next morning, both Poe and Obi-Wan opened a small box to find baby booties in it. Poe felt a rush of love wash over him and hugged Rey tightly. Obi-Wan simply wiped tears from his eyes and smiled at the couple.
“Best Christmas gift ever.” Poe said and kissed Rey deeply.
“I love you, Commander Dameron. Or should I say, we love you?”
“I love you both.”

After you traveled through the vortex, and landed at the foot of the Jedi temple, you ran throughout it, trying to find Anakin. You asked every face you saw for him. Finally, they pointed you in the right direction and you found him in a meditation room.
“Anakin!” you sighed with relief as you ran to him. It was in that instant that everything else was forgotten. The past three years of Asgard, Thor, Sif, being a warrior, your status, your duty to your new land...Loki, all of it was forgotten. All you cared about in that moment was Anakin Skywalker.
He stood, grinned widely at you, and hugged you tightly, the feeling of home and comfort surrounded you.
“Y/N,” he greeted and you two quickly left the meditation room.
“I got your message. What’s troubling you?” you asked as you held his hands.  By the Force, he had gotten handsome. If you weren’t so worried about him, your cheeks would be red as you stood before him. His hair had grown, it’d become wavy, his face had matured, his jawline more defined, his lips more plump. He’d turned into the image of pure handsomeness, so much so your breath halted in your throat once you took him in.
“Come, not here,” he instructed as he pulled you to his room and shut the door. Once you settled on his couch, he asked if you needed something to drink.
“No, please, Anakin, you called out for me, tell me what’s going on,” you pleaded as you gestured for him to sit. He obliged and sat next to you, pulling one leg up so he could face you.
“It’s good to see you,” he informed, his deep voice so full of emotion you almost melted.
You were about to burst from anticipation however, and your feelings could wait. “As it is you, but Anakin--”
“Yes, yes…” He waved you off. “I--uh--I feel a pull to the dark side,” he said suddenly and your stomach dropped.
“Anakin,” you breathed, touching his shoulder, your brows pulling together. “Whatever for?”
“My visions. They...They’re of you,” he said quickly, his dark eyes on yours.
“Of me? What of me?” you questioned.
With a pinched face and a pained voice, he told you, “Just like the ones of my mother, you’re dying in it.”
You took a second to process this. Anakin’s visions had always proved true. There was no reason to question them now, but to your knowledge, you were in no danger. You slowly shook your head.
“Okay, Anakin...I believe you but as far as I know, I’m in no danger...so what does all of this have to do with the dark side?”
He waited a moment, pursing his lips, and his robotic fist curled. “I...Well, I confided in Senator Palpatine that I was worried for you and he told me that...that a Sith had the power to stop death.”
You sighed. “Palpatine? You should not put your faith in him, Anakin, I do not trust him,” you said.
“I know. I know you don’t. But what choice do I have, Y/N?” he asked as he whirled off the couch. “I can’t let you die,” he said.
You stood as he faced away from you.
“Does your vision show you where or how I die?”
“No, but if it is anything like my mother, it will be soon,” he answered while he spun to be face to face with you. “I can’t have that happen. I’ve already lost so much, please don’t let me lose you too.”
You pursed your lips.
“What if I stayed for a few days? To show you that I’m not in harm’s way?”
“But my vision--”
You silenced him with a finger to his mouth. “Anakin, your visions have always told the truth, so when the time comes, we will deal with it, but promise me you will stay away from Palpatine and any darkness.”
A moment passed between you two, your finger still on his mouth. You knew this worried him, it must if he was considering going to the dark side just to save you. The fear fell off him in waves and ebbed into your own Force aura. You wanted to wash his fear away, but there was nothing to do but you knew going to the Dark Side was not an option.
He nodded and you lifted your finger from his mouth. He finally broke the silence. “Very well.”
He led you back to the sofa by the hand.
“So how has your new life been?” he asked in a more cheerful tone, a smile playing at his plump lips.
“It’s been very good.”
“Where did you end up?”
“Asgard. I am King Odin’s warrior. I fight with the Princes, as one of the top ranked fighters.”
“Is that so?” he asked with a grin. “Well congratulations. That sounds...fulfilling.”
“It is. And you? It must be so nice to be a Master!” you said excitedly as you beamed at him.
He had a half smile on his face. “I wouldn’t exactly know.”
“What do you mean you don’t know?” you demanded, irritation in your voice. “Surely they’ve granted you the title of Master by now.”
“No, Y/N, they haven’t,” he sighed as he answered.
“But that’s preposterous! You deserve to be master more than anyone!” you objected. Anakin was the best Jedi the Force had ever seen and to deny him his right as a Master was ridiculous.
“The council doesn’t think I’m ready,” he tried gently.
You scoffed. “The council. Hah! You’re more than ready. See, this is why I am happy with King Odin. With the Jedi there are so many...rules.”
“Ah yes, the rules. Is that why you left?”
You shrugged. “Partially,” you answered with a slight sigh. “All of the politics and the rules and guidelines, surely you must understand my desire to leave.”
“I know the Jedi are strict but it’s for a good reason,” he countered.
“While that may be,” you started, “they don’t allow for a normal life, Anakin. Your entire life is devoted to them. That isn’t a life. I needed freedom. I can not be chained to a religion or practice. I need freedom to go where I wish, live where I want...love who I want…”
“Love? Have you found love?”
You laughed awkwardly at the question, Loki slamming hard into the forefront of your mind. Thinking of Loki and sitting next to Anakin felt entirely alien. A bout of guilt built itself in your stomach.
Much like earlier, when you forgot of your beloved Prince, you remembered that for your three years in Asgard in Loki’s presence you’d let your memory of Anakin slip. You’d told Loki of him when you first started to become close years ago. Loki had asked about your previous life, where you came from, your family, all of it. Of course, Anakin was the subject of most of your stories and memories, Obi-Wan making a guest appearance often, but mostly Anakin. However, once you stayed longer and longer around Loki, his memories took the place of the memories of the Jedi and Anakin.
How could you let the man you’d grown up with slip from your memory?
“Uh, no, not quite,” you answered and left it at that. “And you? Last I heard, you and Padme had found love with each other, is that true?” You weren’t sure why but you were hoping sincerely that he wouldn’t say yes. Something gnawed within you.
“Senator Padme? No,” he replied, shaking his head with a small laugh. “That would be highly inappropriate and neither of us feel that way about each other. We are simply friends.”
“Ah, good.”
“Good?”
You realized what you just said and scrambled to correct it. “I mean that...uh...it’s good because otherwise you’d have to hide your relationship or leave the Jedi so I’m glad you’re not in that position.”
“Ah, right,” he agreed with a slight nod, looking a little dejected.
Anakin couldn’t….no...no, he couldn’t...care for you like that, could he? Surely not. He was a Jedi, forbidden to love. At least, forbidden to admit they were in love.
Furthermore, why did you want Anakin to want you? He was your best friend. Your childhood companion. He wasn’t allowed to love you and doing so would destroy his career as a Jedi…
For the life of you though, you wanted that. You wanted Anakin to want you the way you wanted him. You wanted that romantic flame to ignite between you two….
But...hadn’t you wanted the same thing moments before Anakin filled your mind? Loki was in the middle of a request, question, or something rather, and you had been filled with optimism and hope that it was for the same thing you were wanting of Anakin now.
In fact, if you thought about it, you’d had these feelings for Anakin for a long time. Right before you’d left, you had wanted to ask him to run away with you. You wanted him to join you on your quest for a new life, but between the war, and Padme, and the guilt of making him leave the thing he was destined for, you decided against it. But at that time, you suppose you felt more than friendship for him, and another part of leaving was that feeling those things shouldn’t have made you feel guilty, but being a Jedi it did - so you left. You knew the only way to get over Anakin and to have the freedom to love someone would be to leave the thing holding you back.
You and Anakin caught up a little more, him telling you of recent missions, you telling of yours. You mentioned Loki, Thor, and the others and life living in a palace. Before long though, he suggested you come say hi to Obi-Wan and the others.
Obi-Wan was teaching so you came in and stood at the top of the stairs until they were dismissed. You observed him. He had grown more handsome as well, his hair growing out and he had filled out even more, looking more and more like an adult. He was possibly the best master anyone could hope for. He stood at the bottom for a moment, collecting his things before he glanced up, sensing the presence in the room.
“Anakin, what’re--Y/N?” he gasped, his eyes going wide.
“Hello, Obi-Wan,” you greeted sweetly.
“My goodness!” He dropped his things and ran up to hug you. “It’s been too long, Y/N! How are you? Are you returning? How long have you been here?” he asked, volleying so many questions your head started to spin.
“I’m just visiting, Obi-Wan,” you answered, quieting his excitement, trying to ignore the pang of guilt that assaulted your stomach as you saw his face fall.
“Oh, I see. So what brings you to us?”
“My visions,” Anakin interjected. “I told her.”
Obi-Wan’s gaze shifted to his Padawan. “You told her of your visions. Anakin,” he sighed disappointedly.
“No, I’m glad he told me,” you assured, touching Obi-Wan’s arm. “I am. His visions haven’t been wrong yet. I plan to stay a few days to see if that eases things, to see if his vision goes away.”
“Very well. Well, would you care to grab some dinner?”
“I would be delighted,” you said with a soft smile.
“Excellent!”
Obi-Wan gathered his things and you, him, Anakin, Master Yoda, and Master Windu had dinner together in the temple.
“So, Y/N, how is life outside of the Jedi?” Master Windu asked.
“It’s...liberating?” you said cautiously. “Forgive me, it’s just--”
Windu held his hand up. “No need. It’s not for everyone. We’d rather you leave on good terms than to reject our ways and turn to the Dark Side.”
A glance was shared between you and Anakin as you sat next to each other.
“I’m glad you see it that way,” you said softly. “It really is good. I work alongside the Princes in Asgard as one of the head warriors.”
“That’s a respectable job,” Obi-Wan commended.
“Did you expect something different?” you questioned with a laugh before taking a sip of your drink.
Obi-Wan grinned and responded matter-of-factly, “No, in fact, I expected just that. How did you manage that?”
“Well, once I left here, I had heard King Odin was looking for a new warrior to help lead his army so I came to his land. I told them I was looking for the position, they informed me I would be added to the list of 1000 contenders. And so I was. We would have a battle royale of sorts, fighting each other in small rounds, the victors moving on to the next round, so on and so forth until eventually, I defeated them all.” You shrugged slightly. “King Odin saw me fight, seemed impressed, he seemed to enjoy the fact that I could use the Force and gave the honor of serving among his men and sons.”
“And do you enjoy it?” Obi-Wan asked.
Oh absolutely. I’m helping people, I am fighting, I am free to read, learn, travel a little, and I’ve made great friends.”
Everyone at the table smiled at you.
“It would seem that leaving the Jedi was the best choice for you then,” Obi-Wan noted.
“I wouldn’t say that,” you sheepishly said.
The rest of the night was wonderful, as your old friends filled you in on all of the happenings, events, good and bad, updating you on all things as you did the same for them with your new life. Certainly, nostalgia was brought on, just being in the Jedi temple brought back feelings of home. Anakin and Obi-Wan and the other Masters had saved your life more than once on different occasions, and you for them. They were your family when you never knew what a family was.
Yoda, filled with so much wisdom, he reminded you of the King and Queen. Windu with his wit reminded you of Fandral. Obi-Wan reminded you of Hogun with his responsibility. You’d missed them very much, but while they were an amazing group of people to be around, so were Thor, Loki, Sif, Fandral, Hogun, and Volstagg. Not to mention the King and Queen and all of the acquaintances that came with them.
Your past was just as good as your future. The only difference was that there was freedom in your future.

It's Obikin time! Let's celebrate our favourite ship! Reply with a random headcanon, a fic or art rec, or just why you love Obikin! Feel free to tag people!
I love my dumb assholes so much okay.
so. hm. three fic recs (less well-known ones, so wicked thing is not on here, but also that’s a p good fic that everyone and their mother has recced welp). and then song selections from my own personal playlist(s) that fit Anakin, Obi-wan, and their incredibly complicated relationship.
1. Release by lilyconrad - A quick and dirty story about quick and dirty things. This is just, like, straight-up rough smut. I am a simple girl, with simple needs, and among them is Anakin Skywalker getting fucked real hard. thanks.
2. Snapchats from Coruscant by alexei_hecate, criesmom, tricksterity - Snapchat stories of various notable people on Coruscant (mostly Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Senator Amidala and Ahsoka Tano), transcripted for ease of convenience for the visually impaired, hard of hearing, or those who just want to relive some of the iconic videos that got us through the Clone Wars. LAUGHING I don’t have a Snapchat but this is hilarious. Anakin Skywalker giant fucking memelord, not even bothering to hide both his marriage to Padme and also the fact that he has a giant crush on Obi-wan. what a dumb. I love him.
3. The Fires by Driverpicksthemooseic - He wakes quickly and without thought, breaking through the barrier of unconsciousness to find himself face down on the floor of a starfighter. (OR, Groundhog Day. ROTS, Battle of Mustafar, Full-On Groundhog Day. Yes, I am a masochist, thank you for asking.) hahahaha I knew this was going to kill me when I clicked on it. Groundhog Day punched me in the heart when it was a trope on Supernatural in the good old days when SPN was Good. Obi-wan absolutely did not deserve to get put through that many loops, I want to hug him. I’m at least glad these assholes got a happy ending in this fic, so.
now on to the songs! some context: I have a lot of playlists, not all of them public, featuring Anakin and Obi-wan, separately or together. these show up on one or more of them.
1. give me a try - the wombats. ( this could be worth the risk, worth the guarantee / this could be the drug that doesn’t bite / just give me a try )
2. ship to wreck - florence + the machine. ( did i drink too much? / am i losing touch? / did i build this ship to wreck? )
3. just one yesterday - fall out boy. ( letting people down is my thing, baby / find yourself a new gig / this town ain’t big enough for two of us )
4. dyin’ ain’t so bad - bonnie and clyde original broadway cast. ( dyin’ ain’t so bad / not if you both go together / only when one’s left behind / does it get sad )
5. always gold - radical face. ( and they said you were the crooked kind / and that you’d never have no worth / but you were always gold to me )
6. some other me - if/then original broadway cast. ( some other me’s a rock star / some other me’s still cool / some other me does not feel like some tired old fool / and you and i are strangers / or we’re lovers, or we’re not )
7. say something - a great big sea & christina aguilera. ( say something, i’m giving up on you / i’ll be the one if you want me to / anywhere i would’ve followed you )
8. end of the line - captain america ost. ( instrumental. )

Has the time come for 'The Real Housewives of Orange County' to stop fighting?
Dec. 24--Pop culture is littered with doomed, self-destructive relationships.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer dated Spike the Slayer of Vampire Slayers, and you knew that was never gonna work.
Padme and Anakin tried to make it work in the earliest "Star Wars" trilogy and when things fell apart she died of a broken heart, and he, well, he tried to destroy galaxies, now didn't he?
And now, after the second of three reunion shows for Season 14 of "The Real Housewives of Orange County," add to those the star-crossed friendship of Vicki Gunvalson and Kelly Dodd. Things went bad a year earlier and only got worse this season with insults about sex lives and looks, bad behavior and lawsuits.
Yet, once upon time, they were such good friends.
'I would lay in bed with her," Kelly reminisces. "We would talk all night."
Knowing Vicki, matching pajamas were involved.
"She would tell me a lot about those two," Kelly continues, gesturing at Tamra Judge and Shannon Storms Beador, once Vicki's nemeses, now all their base accusations belong to Kelly. "How mean they were. However, she really hurt me with allegations of cocaine."
Prodded by Bravo host Andy Cohen, Kelly agreed that she didn't always react well to people who "poke the bear," which I'm relatively confident is not a euphemism for anything R-rated.
And then, she and Kelly proceed to bicker back and forth for most of the show.
Then something really weird happens. After all this constant bombardment their deflector shields seem to weaken.
"I wish Vicki the best for her life," Kelly admits. "Was I wrong? Did I fight dirty? Absolutely. But I think she deserves happiness."
Vicki agrees that she, too, wishes "the absolute best" for Kelly, and admits that they might be equally guarded and hurt, and have lashed out at each other too often.
The cameras follow them backstage during a break and when they hug it's not some anaconda-style martial arts move, it's for real.
"Sorry about everything," Vicki says.
"I'm glad we worked it out," Kelly replies.
"Be nice to me," Vicki continues.
"I promise," Kelly says.
I swear, if I hadn't seen what I've seen this season I might have shed a tear here, but will this even last until the third reunion show later this week? My Magic Housewives 8-Ball says, "Outlook not so good."
What else did we learn this week? Let's go to the tape.
Tamra talks thinking and drinking: She's confronted over spilling the beans of a sex rumor about Kelly and replies, "Honestly, in my drunken stupor, I really thought I was standing up for her." She's questioned about a second rumor she spread about Kelly later in the season, and replies, "I was very drunk and stupid. It was just a bad decision on my part."
Vicki and Braunwyn can totally agree on one thing: They don't like each other. Vicki thinks Braunwyn Windham-Burke, the year's new housewife, came on with too big of a splash and too much nudity and girl-kissing.
"It's like, 'Hold on, you've been watching us for 13 years, now you're going to come in and try to make a mark for yourself,'" Vicki said.
"I really get a bad vibe from her, I can't stand her," Braunwyn admits.
"It's likewise, girl, I have zero respect for her," Vicki replies.
Everything is insane: Kelly accuses Shannon of hiring a private investigator to snoop around her during her first season on the show.
"That's insane!" Shannon shouts.
"That's insane!" Tamra agrees.
That's inane! I yell to the housewives sitting on teeny couches on either side of a tiny Andy Cohen inside my head these days.
Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi. You're my only hope. ___
