[A/N: I wrote this in a rush bc there’s some stuff going on in my personal life and I just watched episode 9x10 and I needed a good cry 🥺]

“Christ,” you grumble under your breath, slipping in a puddle and nearly falling flat out on the back porch. You try to adjust the grocery bags in your hands to see where you’re stepping, juggling your house keys between two fingers as you mutter on, “How many times have I told that man to wipe down the deck after a swim? Gonna break my damn face one-”

Your griping comes to a dead halt and the bags fall onto the deck with a series of heavy thuds. It’s not water you slipped on.

“St-Steve?” you stammer out, choking on his name. As you follow the trail into your home, now resembling more of a macabre art exhibit than a kitchen, your voice grows stronger and you yell, “Steve! Steven!” Red streaks and fingerprints are smeared across every visible surface, and the sheer volume of blood on the floor sends your heart leaping into your throat.

You can hear heavy footfalls rounding the corner, and you brace yourself to meet your demise at the hands of the same man who attacked your husband minutes ago. Then panicked blue eyes appear at the doorway, and tears pool in your own as you rush into the familiar security of Steve’s arms.

“You’re okay,” you exhale sharply, hands roaming every inch of skin that you can find. Your fingers graze over several bandages along his arms and chest, across his split lip, down the bridge of his nose, and you repeat again, “You’re okay.”

“Most of that blood’s not mine,” he assures you, tenderly brushing his thumb over your cheek and giving you a moment to catch your breath.

“Is this- Is someone after your team?” you ask, taking note of his harried appearance and red-rimmed eyes as he leads you to sit on the living room couch.

He sniffs sharply and averts his gaze before answering, “Not Five-0. My team from the Morocco op.”

You take his hand and bring it to your lap, squeezing it tightly and running your thumb over his knuckles. “How many, Steve?”

He swallows thickly. “Three.”

“And…” You steel yourself for your follow up question. “And Joe?”

Giving your hand a squeeze in return, he says, “Joe’s okay.”

You take and release a deep breath, then lift his hand to your mouth and press a kiss to the back of it. “Do what you need to do,” you say softly. “Just come home to me in one piece when it’s done.”

“Angel, this might not-”

“Consider that an order, Steve,” you cut him off, lifting your resolute gaze to meet his. “You will come home to me.”

“Okay, mama,” he whispers. “Okay.”

The telltale sound of a key slipping into the lock has you jolting awake in the dark living room. Sitting up on the couch, you rub the sleep from your eyes and glance at the clock to find it’s nearly three in the morning. Steve steps inside and locks the door behind him before dropping his bag to the floor. Even in the dim lighting, you can see the weight of the world bearing down on his shoulders, and you call out to him softly.

He takes lumbering steps towards you, then sinks to his knees and rests his head on your thigh, his arms coming up to encircle your waist. “I came home to you,” he says, haunted, his voice muffled by your cotton shorts.

“Thank you, baby,” you whisper, carding your hands through his hair as he tightens his grip on you, his anchor.

“I came home,” he intones again. Your heart aches at how small he sounds, and you understand in that moment what he’s really saying to you: I’m the only one who came home. Pressing your lips to his forehead, you murmur, “You can let go now, honey. Let it go.”

His large body quakes beneath your fingertips, heaving with silent sobs as a lifetime of loss and sacrifice takes its toll. Drawing in shuddering breaths, he clings to you like you’re the oxygen he’s seeking while you rock him side to side and run your hand along his back.

The sun will come up in a few hours, and with it, a new day. But for tonight, all your husband can focus on is coming home to you and the most beautiful sunset he’s ever seen.

how did you get so good at crowded perspective pieces?

hey lol. forgive me for the wait, i tried to answer this (twice) on the day u sent this and both times my app crashed after me typing out a whole thing so i just needed to. take a breath before trying again. im on vacation rn so i dont have all of my files/sketches so im gonna try and make do with what i have.

the real answer is that i only really started doing it recently! i really made the resolution to make my work more involved and resolved instead of just doodling a character on a random background.. i’m very inspired by cartoonists and comicmaking and so i want my illustrations to be fully resolved scenes that tell stories and communicate ideas. right now im focusing a lot on trans bodies in close proximity, small spaces and domestic t4t relationships. I started off with a few studies. I did sketches of some artists who drew enviroments i enjoyed and tried my best to grasp an understanding of spatial relationships. taking some life drawing classes also really helped ^_^

im gonna talk about my house party series bc its relevant but i used different methods to sketch each one!

i used the csp perspective tool to create a linear grid to work off of, it’s very helpful, i knew i wanted a more centered composition for this one so i drew my center character first and figured out how to layer others around them from there!

this one was a little more complex. i made a photo collage (i wish i had used my own refs but. we all make mistakes) and then went over it with a lasso tool blocking out chunks of color. then i turned off the collage layer and drew over the chunks until i was happy with my layout! for this composition, i wanted your eye to travel pretty nonstop around the peice so i chose to make it cluttered and vertical to overwhelm the viewer!

this one was actually not sketched digitally!! i drew the characters in my sketchbook since i knew i wanted to go for a more layered and abstracted vibe, then used my lightboard to trace them on top of eachother.

I think creating crowd scenes is a lot about juggling space, figuring out how to make things look cramped but not have things blend into one blob. it’s difficult, but with patience you can learn to balance the elements effectivly.

Sooo, first one is, what advice do you have for aspiring writers and artists that follow you? Follow your passion, practice a lot, don’t get distracted, etc?

What’s the best part about being an author and a writer? The satisfaction when you finally finish a piece, or when a lot of people like and share your artwork and book?

Do you read any fanfictions? I’m wondering because I’ve almost ran out of good Prowl/Jazz fanfictions and I want more to cure my need for cuteness and angst with those two 🤲

Do you listen to music when you write/draw? If so, what kind of music, or does it depend on the scene when your writing/drawing. It definitely depends on what I’m writing at the moment to determine the music lmao

Will you ever make your Obsidian King fanfiction into a little series? Like after you’re done the first one with Prowl and Jazz whenever, will you plan on doing one with like Bluestreak and a love interest and how that would all play out? Or is the Obsidian King just a standalone?

Have you ever cried when you were writing your books? The Obsidian King, Vulnerability or otherwise? I cried during Vulnerability :( poor Bumblebee man and I relate to it so much too! Like, I absolutely love your writing in both because it feels as if I’m actually there, y’know?

Do you plan on continuing to learn German despite when you finish your Vulnerability fanfiction one day and only need a bit of German for it? I find it cool to learn German! I’m learning French at the moment, but I’m thinking about learning German after.

advice for aspiring artists/writers? you hit the nail on the head lol gonna preach the three P's i told myself and others years ago: practice, patience and passion. when you're a growing artist (which you always will be) you need to have patience with yourself as you navigate through the mistakes and learning curves as you practice. the passion keeps you motivated. if you don't have that passion and patience, you might have a hard time with the practice and growth

best part of being a writer? short answer: i love getting comments that analyze my work. long answer: i have been trying my best to focus less on the end product and its reception when it comes to writing, much like my art. this can even lead back to the first question: i personally believe you should not focus most on those things, but the process more. the things you learned, the steps you took, the parts that felt therapeutic for you. that's what should be the best part. (but ofc, i do love the comments i get on my writing and it certainly makes it feel even more worth it. analyses on my writing? THE best.)

j/p fanfic recs most of my favorites come from beloved rizobact. winner takes all and crystal ghosts are my favs from her. it's been a long time since i read this one, but domino milkshake was a fun one as far as i remember. if you've already exhausted those, the j/p zine just published some fics ',:)

do you listen to music when you draw/write? lot of times, i focus best with no music or a single song on repeat. tho i don't like the silence as much, it's quite boring. i like to have something so i'll either listen to music or put on a youtube video, usually mark or jack, sometimes reaction videos from other youtubers. i don't usually switch up what i'm listening to based on what i'm writing bc most times, it's the music that determines the art but it's not the biggest influence. i tend to listen to whatever my neurodivergent brain decided to attach to that week ...or month. rn, i'm still working through exhausting a german playlist and "rising kingdom" (yes, the minecraft song lol)

will obsidian king be a series? this is the plan as i realize i may not be able to juggle the various stories all in one fic (i'm sure i could but the way i had started the obsidian king wasn't the right setup for it) the next one i want to tackle after j/p is megoplita's story. from when they all first fell in love to the beginning of the autobot-decepticon war. bluestreak and the twins may not get their own story for a long while, if at all, since i do not have anything figured out post-war.

have you ever cried while writing a fic? not any of my current ones, no. but i have cried writing you are my flower iirc and infinity (i took prowl's death HARD, man.) vulnerability does hit home with me since it's just pure projection with bumblebee, a lot of it was actual sensations and thoughts i've experienced, but it was more therapeutic than upsetting for me. take care of urself anon <:)!

do you plan to continue learning german after you finish vulnerability? hell yeah, i hope to! i don't have a solid end goal going into this, because i highly doubt i will reach any sort of fluency, but it will always be a fun and interesting thing to learn. if i did have to give myself a goal, it would be to write a fic in german to test my knowledge! but for now, it's mostly just keeping my brain busy and engaged with something new

Important Announcement: Good News for a lot of you guys—I’m not gonna delete my own twst series after all. At least for now.

…As more of an explanation than…that, the more I thought about it, the more unsure I became. After talking it over with @stormkitty97, we both decided that we should put that idea on the backburner for now and see how we feel in a couple months. This isn't something I immediately want to nose dive into, especially since it means possibly deleting a series I poured almost three years of my life into. I need time to think this over, you know?

However, we are discontinuing the Lizzie series, because neither one of us is feeling that series anymore. @stormkitty97 because of not shipping Vil with her Yuu, and me thanks to not being into HP in the first place. That might be enough to take the pressure off of me as a writer, because I won’t be juggling two stories with similar concepts anymore. 

I’m gonna post up the next chapters of “Take Me to the Savannah”, the sequel to this story, on tomorrow as an apology to you guys. Because I feel awful about saying something to only take everything back days later. I don’t blame any of you for being upset or being pissed off at me over this.

However, @stormkitty97 also want to take some time off from our collaboration projects and work on our own shit. We both agree that we really need the space to simmer off rn.

In other...news, I'm also thinking about making a general writing server like @darkspellmaster. Because I want to work on projects in other fandoms and keep you all updated. I'll still keep up my own TWST server, though.

I also want to do some one shots in the Grisha Verse fandom, especially for the Secret Santa on the Darklina one, and possibly tackle a TWST October writing challenge, but I'm not sure about the latter yet. I also have another idea cooking in my brain for another project. But if I learnt anything from this experience, I want to think about it more before starting something and dumping it later.

The comic continuation is called 'Batman: The Adventures Continue', and there's three volumes('seasons') total so far. There's Batman: The Adventures Continue, then Batman: The Adventures Continue: Season Two, followed by Batman: The Adventures Continue: Season Three (which is still currently ongoing!).

It’s canon that Ian mellowed out between the first film/book and the second, and the Lost World book said they met when he was recovering from his injury, so I want to know what they would’ve been like before the park incident.

A few other things I would like to know: what are Ian’s other kids like? How does Kelly get on with them? What are all his kids, Kelly included, up to now? How did Kelly and her siblings react when their dad went from being Jurassic Park Ian to Lost World Ian? Stuff like that.

hi hi, i’m pris, they/she, eighteen, intp, and this is the third time i’m introducing myself because it’s been almost a year since my last reintro. i write primarily fantasy with a lot of folkloric influences, but that could change who knows. i’m also a member of the wtw network ! 

i didn’t feel like bombarding people with a bunch of wip intros, so below the cut i’ve given a brief synopsis for each of my projects as well as some info on where they’re sitting at. 

P R O J E C T S 

starborne ; epic dark fantasy . adventure . romance . tragedy . adult 

as the newly accoladed knight imperial, ser vauquelin is tasked with accompanying his liege on a sacred quest through the holy angelan empire to the inferni-ravaged darkwood. but when an imposter wearing prince imperial luciano’s face threatens his claim to the throne, it falls to vauquelin to hunt down the pretender.

status ; redrafting . this is my oldest and main wip, and it was sitting at around 40k before i decided to scrap it all and start a new draft 0. i intend it to be a trilogy, as it’s the most dense out of all my wips, and my final wc goal for it is about 90-95k. a lot of the content i’ve made for it on this blog is now out of date since i’ve updated the worldbuilding doc, so i’ll try to make up for those eventually, but i’m mostly focusing on finishing the draft rn.

aleksander fox has found his fortune when he sells the enchanted feather cloak of a cigne, a legendary race able to transfigure themselves into swans. the assassin voir vératre receives her most difficult mission yet when tasked with claiming the life of the helemar, leader of the faith and object of their worship. whispers of a war begin to brew and the swan queen searches for her missing son as an infection known as the dornenheit spreads throughout the lands.

status ; reoutlining . i originally started this as a nano project for 2020 and tried to rush through a lot of it. the first draft was very bad, it was just 10k of a world and characters i knew nothing about. it’s also gone through a couple title changes, but the outline is putting it back on track towards a more swan maiden meets sleeping beauty type beat. this one should be getting reintroed the soonest. 

the tale of ryuurei ; magical realism . coming of age . young adult 

autumn island, built on the left horn of a dead dragon god, will know it’s first summer in over a decade. with it comes a girl half-mad with grief, ruining any chance sakuma shizu had at a normal senior year. but the island is sinking, residents have begun to fear the nighttime, and shizu seems to be the only one in the know. everyone has their secrets, but how long can shizu keep his before they grow an extra mouth?

status ; on-hold . i got a good amount written of this for janowrimo and camp nano, however the structure is what’s really throwing me off. trying to juggle all these plot threads and characters in roughly 20k, what was i thinking. it’s not that i don’t know what to do with this project, just that it’s not currently my top priority. v sorry :(

accused of using witchcraft to awaken the serpent prince from his eternal rest, maude liebreich is set to be executed. her life is vouched for and spared only under the promise that she is able to restore him to slumber. kept under watch as the new head of the once-lost seventh great order, maude works to discover not only the true nature of the serpent prince’s return but of her own birth.

so just a quick update on what to expect, to be uploaded next:

i just posted a quick yoonmi what if so this will be followed by a hannah nct 2021 content, seri and jennie friendship (i’ve mentioned them as friends but i dont think anyone remembers), and possibly an ari fan fave moments with one of the members

after that is the main timeline of things, we’re in 2018 rn so it’s mainly going to be yoonmi and hannah first (yoonmi’s first drama and hannah’s juggling dream and 127) and maybe a little bit of seri’s debut prep. as for ari, i’m just working on the behind of episode 4 of i-land

so yeah that’s what you can look forward to, but also my requests are open for anything~

Hi there! I’m going through a lot of AG blogs rn and saw you talk about how Valerie Tripp is a “double edged sword” for American Girl. would you mind expanding on that? it sounds interesting!

American Girl (especially in the prebeforever, early Mattel era), utilized Valerie Tripp a lot.

They made her write for so many different characters that I feel like she may have been overwhelmed, trying to juggle all the information and plot lines of like 50 different historical characters. A lot of her writing comes off as bland, and with the exception of a few characters, I don’t enjoy the stories she’s written as much as characters who got their own respective writers who only worked on 1-2 characters at a time.

Valerie Tripp loves what she does, and I respect that, but I do wonder what the current state of AG literature would be like if AG was less hesitant to higher other authors when it came to Historicals (and perhaps authors who were excited to work on a new character, or specialized in the history/culture of said character). I feel like they gave her too much work as well, I feel like her books would be less… boring… and rushed if AG only let her work on one or two active Historicals at a time.

There’s also the topic of how some of her books tend to wash over the oppression of certain groups. I wouldn’t necessarily completely blame Tripp herself, she was a white children’s author who was being overworked and expected to write the entire series of multiple historical dolls, but it still makes me want to scream.

When the fluid motions of the four statues blanketed the entrance hall in silence, the sheer force of the blood rushing to her head was nearly enough to make her pass out. This was it. It was her time. The second coming of Seraphina Picquery was underway. Her convictions were reinforced when the very last Violetta Beauvais wand chose her as its new owner. Of course, she planned on carving her own path. That’s why she chose Pukwudgie house, home of healers. She wished to completely put an end to the Dark Era and heal and reunite the Wizarding Community like never before. Pukwudgie suited her values very well, of course! Plus, [a Beauvais wand takes to dark magic like a vampire to blood, after all]. Better to be safe than sorry.

Like her idol, (Y/n) wished to usher in a new era of the Wizarding World with her time at Ilvermorny as her origin and starting point. Her friends, teachers, and family expected it. But suddenly, her parents changed their tune and wished to spirit her away to Hogwarts! Hogwarts! Whispers of the infamous school had reached all the way to North America, and not in a good way. With tensions on the rise in the Wizarding World of Europe, rumors of dark magic and wars...(Y/n) starts to realize that perhaps there was a deeper reason behind why her wand chose her after all.

Author’s Note: I’m back! Will I be consistent? Probably not! My hyper focused interests wax and wane often but I think I’m in a pretty stiff HP fixation rn. But a girl can try. Saviour is still currently on hiatus; I need to do a rewatch of CAOS before I revisit the series.

- song of the dragon :: usurper!myg historical au :: i have roughly 8k so far but i keep going back and editing the plot 🥲 i like the idea but .. how should i say this. it’s a fic that sounds better in my head 😬 so this one has been on pause for a few weeks until i figure out how to give it CPR. metaphorically speaking

- blue moon ritual :: kim line uhhh idk how to describe this one w/o making it sound weird LOL basically. in this fictional kingdom, u get chosen to carry the next heir. i have almost 6k for it but 🥲 it’s nowhere near done. i still don’t know if i should add plot to it. ah i want to make it a series but looking at my track record that’s probably a very bad idea. so my goal is to write it all out then post it in parts.

- ok.. pls don’t sue me bc i started a new wip last week when literally no1 (including myself) asked for it 😬 but i’m writing it !!!!! it’s a tae fic !!!!! he’s so hard to write for (cries). ive always had wips for him but i’ve never been able to finish them. but this time !!! 🤞🏼also it’s a shifter fic !!! w that a/b/o shit n1 likes except me ! yes it’s super self indulgent but idc i’m ready to let that flag fly 🥴
