♤ Isagi Yoichi : Shut the fuck up. What do you even know about football?

It had been another quiet night in the apartment. Despite returning from Germany, you rarely got to see your lover; the only reminders being the left dumbbells that were left on the floor along with discarded clothes that gave away the silent message of him not returning home for the night, instead choosing to go out to the field to train until early hours of the morning.

Sighing, you bent on the floor picking up his discarded sweaty clothes and threw them into the washer, walking to the kitchen to prepare a meal for him and keep it in the microwave in case he was still hungry, leaving a note on top of the lid.

‘For Yo. Eat well :)”

Days had turned into a week and there were signs of Yoichi in the house but it felt as if there were a ghost of him, considering the pairs of studs that would be left at the doorstep, the empty dish of the previous night left to dry near the sink or the missing watch that told you he had a press conference or the billboards that were in the city with his face featured for a new product in the market.

It wasn’t until one night where you had grown frustrated that you had decided to leave at an ungodly hour in the night, driving to the stadium where you knew he would be, practicing.

Walking around the bleachers, on the field, you watched as Yoichi dribbled the ball past his feet and made it past his opponents, the last one before the goal giving him a critical shoulder push as he fell to the ground.

“Yo!” you gasped, running towards him as the referee held up a yellow card to the opposing team player. Leaning down you watched as he grit his teeth, a feral expression displaying his animosity taking over his face.

“Are you alright?” you asked.

“I’m fine. Just… leave. Go home, I’ll be there in two hours.” he said, shoving your hand from his bruised shoulder. “Just come home, Yoichi. You can play tomorrow. You need sleep.” you said, eyes settling on the bags under his gaze. “Tomorrow?” he asked in a grave voice, giving you a glare from the side of his face. “And then what? When I get a broken nose and bleed, you’ll tell me to play next month?” he contested, his voice gaining a higher tone with every passing word.

“I-”

“Shut. the. Fuck. up. What do you even know about football?” he asked, a humorless chuckle coming out of him. “I’ve earned my place in this field. I don’t need to hear what I need to and don’t need to do when I’m the best here. And if I had to, you would be the last person I would ever come to.”

You watched as he walked away from you, giving his injured shoulder a few turns before eventually going to the referee, saying that he was ready to play, while the rest of the players stood there awkwardly, looking at each other on what they should do. You could feel tears pooling in the corner of your eyes from the sheer humiliation you had felt before them, with the thing that hurt you the most being how small isagi had made you feel. Gritting your teeth, you clenched your fists onto the metal of the car keys, the smooth yet jagged edges digging into the skin of your palm. Taking a slow turn you walked out of the stadium into the car, settling into the driver’s seat with your face staring up at the hood of it, trying to stop the tears from falling down your face.

After driving around in circles of the city you had made it home, throwing your keys onto the table, and settling on the sofa haphazardly. Maybe you couldn’t give him what he needed…just gave him what you could and what you thought was best.

Not daring to step into your shared room, you decided to pack a bag and not be there for the night; it was a bad idea to stay in the same place that reminded you of the one you wanted to get away from, leaving a gel pack that you had picked up from the konbini in the freezer as one last gesture before you turned in for the night.

Dropping on the soft mattress of the hotel bed and too tired to think from all the tears you cried, you decided to do the best thing and sleep, unaware of the lit up screen of Yoichi and you with a silent ring.

♤ Itoshi Rin : You’re so insecure, it's actually pathetic. Makes me think why I’m even with you.

It had been a good six months when you and Rin had become a pair… unofficially. There had been speculated rumors of the football star seeing someone, with the paper printing his image with a random model that he might have met at an event or collaborated with.

You knew you shouldn’t be envious, as it was Rin who would come to your apartment at time of the night during weekdays or spend the night at your home during the weekend, yet you couldn’t rid off the green feeling that made your insides churn in sadness.

It was another night in your apartment when you heard the sound of a doorbell. Opening the door, you revealed the figure before you to be none other than the man you had been seeing. Handing you the package of food you had ordered prior, he moved into your apartment, stepping out of his shoes, going into the living room, removing his coat. Taking his spot on the couch, he placed his phone on the table, eyes staring into yours, asking you to join him. Placing the package on the table, you moved to sit close to him, a good space between the two of you. Lifting a finger he beckoned you to come close to him.

Sighing, you came close until your knee touched his, his hand reaching to yours, entwining your fingers with his. It wasn’t like Rin to talk, choosing his actions to speak louder for him.

“I saw you on the cover of the magazine today. Didn’t know you were the new model for Issey Miyake…” you said with a small playful smile, remembering the navy blue sweater that Rin wore on the said photoshoot.

“They’re hosting an event in two days.” Rin said, his thumb brushing over the expanse of your hand. “Social events disgust me.”

“Hm… but you do have to build your image as a footballer right? Might as well watch models on the runway and clap while you’re at it…” you teased, nudging him.

Grunting, he placed his head on your shoulder, the soft tresses of his hair brushing against your collarbone causing the corner of your lip to perk up.

This was nice.

You felt your hands shake as you held the phone closer to your face, eyes squinting at the image.

‘Football star Itoshi Rin and Kimimura Ayano at Shibuya : a blossoming love?’

Blinking sleepily at the bright light from the morning sleep, you let your gaze adjust until you got a better look at the picture of what seemed to be Rin and the Japanese girl group idol who had been on the steady rise ; his hand brushing the strands of hair away from her face. Your heart dropped.

If he wanted to bring a plus one, why wasn’t it me?

It was a pattern for a few days where you wouldn’t answer Rin’s texts, answering them with one or two words. Rin knew you had been acting strange, the screen of his phone blank rather than seeing the plethora of messages he usually got from you ranging from owl facts (that were very much welcomed) to what you had decided to buy or go or treat yourself with on that day. It was eerily silent.

Deciding it was better to see you in person, Rin decided to drive over to your apartment.

On the sound of the bell, you walked to the door, body too tired to lift itself. Opening the door with a heavy hand, you watched as Rin brushed past you walking to the couch with a quick pace. Walking slow footsteps, each weighing with the sleep you desperately needed, you sat a good foot away from him.

“What’s gotten into you?” he asked, eyes fixed on the wall in front of him.

“It's… nothing.” you said, hand resting under your chin while the other gripped your phone tightly.

“You know better than to challenge someone who knows you’re a terrible liar.” “You want to start off with lies, Rin?” you asked, irritation getting the better of you from the lack of sleep and stress. “Why don’t you tell me what this was then?” you asked, unlocking your phone and shoving it in his face.

Blinking at the picture before him, he grabbed your phone and zoomed in on the pixels. “Where did you find this?”

“Doesn’t matter.” you spat, snatching your phone away from him.

“A picture. That’s all it took? Thought your self control was better than that.” his voice touching a grim note, getting up from the couch to sneer down at you.

“An invite to a person that you’re not dating when you are actually seeing me? Thought your self preservation was better than that.” you retorted, getting up from the couch, until your torso was inches away from his.

Flaring his nostrils and clenching his jaw, you watched as the warmth in Rin’s eyes now dulled.

“You’re so insecure, it's actually pathetic. Makes me think why I’m even with you.”

“And I deserve someone who would not make me second guess my place in their life.” you said, walking towards the door, pressing down the handle to open it.

“If your conversation is done here, you can go. Don’t want to hold you any longer, Itoshi san.”

You watched as he clenched his jaw out of anger, fists clenched as he slipped into his shoes and left with heavy footsteps, not turning to bat an eye at you. Closing the door behind him you felt your knees buckle to the floor, as you wept.

Maybe this was for the best.

♤ Kunigami Rensuke : You’re an eyesore. So do me a favor and stay out of my way. Get the fuck out of my sight.

It had been another long evening at the gym, as Rensuke pushed himself on his routine.

Run…Run hard. Run fast. Run light. Breathe. Repeat.

Little did he know that the late nights spent at the gym was a way for his subconscious to escape from the nightmares that he faced in the wild card, even if it had been years since he had left the blue lock facility. Closing the door behind him to the apartment he made his way to the kitchen, the sight of a bento flooding into his vision.

“Out with friends. Eat this in case you get hungry!”

Deciding to turn in for the night, Rensuke left the box untouched, his muscles screaming for him to get into bed. Stepping out of his clothes until he was in nothing but clad boxers, he pulled the sheets over himself, falling into a deep slumber oblivious to the door opening at midnight.

Waking up from bed he was greeted with the sight of you setting pieces of toast on the table, the sizzling of food on the pan filling the air with a delicious smell.

“Good morning Rensuke! Did you sleep well?” you asked with a smile. Grunting as he scratched his bedhead, he walked towards the fridge, grabbing the cold carton of milk and chugging it down.

“Rensuke! That will just ruin your appetite! You need to eat!” you exclaimed, walking over to him to grab the now half empty milk carton. “If you wanted milk, I would’ve poured it out in a glass for you…”

“Leaving for practice.” he said simply, footsteps on the wooden floor moving in the opposite direction.

“When will you be back?” you asked.

“Dunno.” was all the said, throwing on a shirt and a pair of joggers with his duffel bag as he headed towards the door. You sigh upon hearing the click of the door with Rensuke gone.

It has been like this for a while now. Spending time together was a rare opportunity and even if you did it was different from how close you were to him. Conversations had merely turned into sounds of approval or discontent rather than talking.

Silence was all there was. Not to mention the fact that he was not taking care of himself, overworking himself at the gym and not having the appetite that a regular footballer should have. Getting up from the couch you decided to follow him to practice one day, watching him from the bleachers.

“Kunigami! Pass!” his teammate waved as Rensuke spun the ball on his left foot to tackle the opponent, only to be thrown on the ground in surprise as he felt an ache and a trickle of blood down his foot from the movement of the opponent. Lifting his head he was surprised to see a puncture on his skin, the red liquid flowing and a reddened area that would no doubt swell as time passed.

Medics rushed to the scene, bandaging his leg while the coach wore a grim expression but tried to maintain his calmness. “Give it time kiddo. You’ll be good in four days.” he said, giving him a pat on the back. “Hit the showers.”

Kunigami sat on the bench of the locker room, staring at the ground interrupted by the sound of the opening of the door, hands holding the large brown package.

“Rensuke…” you called out, watching his bare back while the towel covered him and another was draped over his shoulders. Turning around to face you with a clenched jaw, his eyes seemed feral and dangerous.

“What are you doing here?”

“I…” words failed you as you held the large package in front of you.

“Did you… How long have you been there?” he asked, getting up from the bench and walking towards you with a limp. “Doesn’t matter… get dressed and I’ll drop you home.” you said with a nervous smile as his intimidating figure stood inches away from you. Peering into the bag he saw an assortment of tablets, protein pellets, a gel pack, other medical and vitamin supplements.

“You looking down on me?” he snarled.

“Huh…?”

“You think I’m pathetic?”

“What? Rensuke… What are you…?” you asked, as he grabbed the bag out of your hands.

“Protein supplements.” he said, throwing the box out of the package onto the floor. “Gauze.”

“Disinfectant.”

“Bandaids.”

“More pre workout.”

“Gel pack.” he said as he kept throwing out the items in the bag onto the floor.

“Do I seem that pathetic to you?” he asked, ripping the brown cover into shreds as they fell to the floor. Trying to hold in your tears, you swallowed with a deep breath.

“I am just trying to help you, Suke… You haven’t been taking care of yourself lately. The only thing you do is dash out of the house and I’m worried about you. You look like you haven’t slept in days and I’m concerned about you.” you answered, fingers reaching towards his face only to have it smacked away in anger.

“Are we playing fucking house?” he retorted, laughing a humorless laugh. “I don’t need someone to tell me that I'm not doing fine. You know what you are?” he asked, face coming close to yours. “You’re an eyesore. So… do me a favor and stay out of my way. Get the fuck out of my sight.” he said, walking away from you towards the lockers. Letting your tears fall to the ground you felt your legs shake as you bit your lip.

“If that’s what makes you happy.” you said, opening the doors to leave, not daring to look back.

Mike’s Monologue (Actually Romantic Version)

Hey y'all! So, a lot of the analyses I've seen about the monologue and things I noticed about it myself as to why it sucks ass were kind of just easily fixable things related to the editing of the scene. And because I have an editing software and thought it would be a fun way to practice...I fixed it. So here's what Mike's Monologue could have looked like if they had wanted it to be actually romantic.

Notes and process under the cut.

- Everything I used (except flashbacks) is from the original ~4 min sequence from them pulling El out of the water to her sending Henry flying (I’ll reblog with a link in a second)

-My version is ~3 mins long, shaving off a whole minute from the og. I did that by cutting out everyone else who intrudes on the scene, which is Will and Max but also shots of Lucas, Hopper, Eddie and Dustin in distress after the bulk of Mike's speech

-The ending is super interesting because El looks at Max and then frees herself, but as she does so we leave the mindscape and Surferboy’s: We cut to Max irl, getting her bones broken, Lucas beating Jason to go stand and look at Max dying, a shot of Hopper with a snarling demodog on top of him, Eddie getting eaten and Dustin calling out for him, and then back to Max and Lucas. Only then do we cut back to Mike still yelling "fight!" and El falling off the wall sending Henry flying. Which imo emphazises that this isn’t the kind of romantic love saves the day scene that it should have been if it was meant genuinely. It’s El remembering Max is in danger that pushes her to fight, not Mike, which is why we see all of her friends in danger as she frees herself. It’s not just Will between them in this scene, it’s everyone.

-Cutting all that was relatively easy because at this point Mike just keeps repeating "fight, El" so no dialogue was lost and I didn't have to futz with the audio

-Similarly cutting Will's prompting Mike was also so easy to cut, which just shows how unnecessary it was. Which, in turn, just hammers home how suspicious it is

-I simply covered Will and Jonathan's reactions to "hurt more" with a reaction shot for El, eliminating further intrusions on the scene by others

-The montage includes 15 different clips of memories, which is more than El has when she restarts Max's heart (10) and about the same as Max during Running Up That Hill (16).

-Making the montage made me realize how jarring the constant back and forth between Mike and El becomes, especially towards the end of the monologue, after that first memory: During Running Up That Hill we focus solely on Max after the boys put on Kate Bush, only cutting to them once when Max starts to float and even then Max is still in the picture, because we're in her head and need to see how she feels and how she's escaping. I tried to imitate that with my montage, but it's interesting that in the real version we get dragged back to Surferboy's and see Mike talk, making the scene not just about El and her fight to escape but also about Mike performing (when he should become just a guiding voice like the song)

-El's reaction in the montage except for the laugh after the t-shirt mention are all from after the monologue

-The most immediate and drastic change imo was when I changed the background music. Even without the montage the cut already works so much better with "Unambigious True Love" playing instead of "You're The Heart"

-I didn't have to do anything fancy to make the new song work. I simply underlaid UTL so the track lined up with the fade to black and it fit basically on the first try. The length spans the entire monologue, slowly building up and then cresting during the montage and falling as Mike calls for her to fight and the vines fall away. It would literally have been the perfect track to use instead of making up a new one and then naming it after Will's feelings.

-There are still a couple of things about the monologue that I couldn't fix, such as lighting, shot composition (Will is still visible over Mike's shoulder for example) and the actual text, which is still a bit weird, but overall doing this was very interesting because it made me think about what we should have seen if they wanted this to be genuine and the difference between what I ended up creating and what we saw on screen is stark.

In conclusion: They’re bones

Something inky this way comes! The Ink Demonth emerges once again!

The Ink Demonth is a 31-day event dedicated to the game Bendy and the Ink Machine (and other games associated with the Bendy universe). It’s based on daily themes. As long as your creation involves elements from the game along with any interpretation of the respective day’s theme – it counts!

You don’t have to create something for each day, make as many creations as you’d like. However, if you manage to do all 31 of them, you can submit a form to receive a little gift (drawing request)! In the form, you will have to provide a link to each of your posted event submissions (it doesn’t have to be Tumblr, just a site that’s publically accessible!).

The event starts on the 1st of August and ends on the 31st. Although, don’t worry if you’re too busy in August, late entries are always welcome! (…for reblogging, as for drawing gifts I’m going to give all of you an extra month, so if you’re aiming for that, the end of September is your deadline.) (I usually also give an extra month before for preparing during July but this year I’ve been too busy to make it for July so apologies!)

Why in August? I figured that since August is the month on Joey’s calendar in his apartment and August is the month during which BatIM takes place, it should be the one!

My favs when their s/o gets love potioned

Inspired by this post! In case the link is broken, I’ve reblogged it so it’ll be right below this post on my blog!

3/18/23: Did some editing, added some things to hopefully flesh things out a bit and make it easier to understand

Characters (word count): Trey (800), Leona (700), Silver (600)

Summary: Basically a love potion explodes in your face during class and the first person you lay eyes on after that is not your boyfriend, though that’s of no concern to the potion. Neither he nor the new object of your affections is too jazzed about it

Notes: no gendered pronouns for reader, some jealousy based fluff

Trey Clover

Of course. Of course it had to be someone from his own dorm you saw after the potion incident

Originally he’d been planning to keep an eye on you anyway, but now it seemed he didn’t have a choice. You kept a vice grip on Cater’s arm, preventing him from fleeing the Heartslabyul kitchen

“Are you hungry, honey? I know you don’t like sweets so how about I make us some sandwiches?”

Rip his heart out, why don’t you?

He just barely suppressed the grief from showing on his face upon hearing the pet name meant for him used on Cater

When Trey turned to meet Cater’s gaze, all he could do was shoot him a sheepish grin, wiggling his arm in your grip in hopes that Trey would see that he was being held captive

Whether it was because you noticed that he wanted to be let go or because you needed both hands to make sandwiches was unknown to either of them, but you let Cater go anyway

Cater moved to leave but you called him back, saying you were almost done

At Cater’s excuse that he was busy and had plans, you replied that you chose that time to hang out with him because you knew he would be free

The boys were unsure whether they were impressed with your planning or concerned that you managed to learn Cater’s schedule in such a short time

Sandwiches made and grin on your face, you dragged Cater to eat outside with you in the warm sunshine, leaving your poor boyfriend behind to quietly bake for the dorm’s next tea party :(

His phone dinged while he was busy waiting for the pastries to bake and feeling sorry for himself. It was a Magicam notification

You’d just posted two pictures captioned “#TogetherForever”

The first was a tasteful shot of the sandwiches you’d made and the second was a selfie of you and Cater, pressed cheek to cheek with matching grins on your faces

Trey sighed. Cater never could resist a good photo op

In the garden, you were scrolling through your phone. “Look, Cater! We’ve already got so many comments!”

“You posted it?” he asked in disbelief. Trey was going to kill him. Or worse, mess with his meals

“Yeah!” you laughed, not noticing the disparity between your moods as you read through the comments

They were all confused. When had you and Trey broken up, they asked.

What?

As you stared at the comments, wondering why they all mentioned Trey, the fog blocking a part of your brain began to clear

You were dating Trey, not Cater

You called Cater honey. Right in front of Trey

Oh shit

Without a word, you jumped to your feet and rushed toward the kitchen where you hoped your beloved still was

You only made it a few steps, however, before turning on your heel and coming back to snag your uneaten sandwich

You’d just finished the last bite when you reached the kitchen and sighed in relief when you saw that Trey was still there

He was scrolling through his phone, only noticing you when you got close

Given no time to process what was happening, Trey let out a grunt as you barrelled into him, squishing his arms to his sides as you hugged him tight

“Trey! Honey, I’m so sorry!” You were hiding your face in his shoulder, unable to see his face as you babbled one apology after another

In the middle of you swearing up and down that whatever you did with Cater wasn’t real, he wiggled one arm out of your grasp and held up a hand to stop you

Your blood ran cold at the feeling of him breaking away from you and you were almost afraid to look at him

Trey called your name softly and you finally met his eyes, terrified of what you might find. What if he was really upset?

Though you found no anger in his expression, you were still uneasy, not knowing what he was feeling

“I get a get out of jail free card for this,” was all he said. You nodded readily, pursing your lips. “Then all is forgiven.”

You planted a sloppy kiss on his cheek and held him tighter, wailing about how you’d never leave his side again

He didn’t even need to ask you to take down the pictures you took with Cater; you did it as soon as you let him go

The very next day, you posted a picture of a honey cake captioned, “With all my love to my sweet baker <3″

The comments were once again flooded with confused people, wondering if you’d thought the previous day was April Fool’s day or something

Leona Kingscholar

How weird that you were seeing Leona everywhere today, you thought

Unable to take your attention off of Jack for more than a moment, you didn’t notice that it was no coincidence

You also didn’t notice how Leona’s jaw clenched or how his tongue clicked whenever you had any interaction with Jack

What you did notice, however, was the way Jack would glance nervously behind you every so often

You’d turned to look once or twice but never saw anyone looking to do either of you harm. It was just Leona and neither of you had done anything to piss him off

“Come to the Mystery Shop with me, Jackie!” you said, pulling him along by the hand. You started off in the opposite direction of where Leona was leaning against a wall

“Wha- Can’t you shop on your own?” he asked. He glanced behind him to see Leona standing up straight once again to follow

“I could, but I really want you to come with me,” you said. “No one will mess with me if you’re there.”

“Do people mess with you often?” he asked. You nodded, not looking back

“Yeah. Some of them try to prank me, others try to flirt. It’s a headache every time.”

Jack hadn’t known about this. When he looked to Leona, it seemed the lion beastman was in the same boat

Jack had never been the best at identifying emotions, even less so when it came to inexpressive people, but Leona wore the most unreadable expression he’d seen yet

Finally, after a moment of Jack wondering if he should block or dodge, Leona nodded his chin forward, telling him to go with you

With Leona’s blessing, Jack kept your pace all the way to the shop

As you browsed the shelves, a voice in your head nagged at you that something was wrong

It wouldn’t stop and became unbearable to the point that you put the can of tuna back in its place and looked around you in all directions to prove to the voice that you were fine, there was no one in sight but you and Jack

See? You were perfectly safe. But still the voice wouldn’t shut up

It was relentless, screaming at you that you were in an unnatural situation, that you didn’t belong here. You couldn’t even focus on reading the product labels anymore

Instead you told Jack that you could shop another time and that you wanted to hang out by Savanaclaw’s pool for a bit

Which is how Jack found himself lying right beside the pool with you cuddling up to him

The sound of the water gently lapping at the edge of the pool was his only solace as he watched Leona pretend to nap nearby on a lounge chair

You laid you head on Jack’s arm, accepting that you would just have to be content with what you were given

You tapped your finger gently on his vest, right where you’d originally wanted to rest your head

He’d denied you when you asked and you gave him your best puppy dog eyes, hoping to change his mind

Unfortunately for Jack, he couldn’t tell the difference between puppy dog eyes and the look of someone about to cry

Worried that you were going to start the waterworks at any time, he offered you his arm instead

You stopped your tapping and laid your hand flat on his chest

“Jackie,” you said softly. He turned to look at you gazing at him sweetly as you laughed. “Your heart is beating so fast.”

A moment later, your world turned on its axis as a pair of arms hooked under you and hauled you into the air

Spluttering in surprise, you looked to Jack just in time to see Leona plant his boot on his hip

With no deliberation, he pushed Jack right into the pool

“Leo! What do you think you’re doing?!” And suddenly you stopped. Why had you called him Leo? And why wasn’t he annoyed by the new nickname?

One by one, the memories returned to you. Leo wasn’t a new nickname. You’d been calling him that since you started dating

“Leo,” you said again, this time looking at him as if you’d met him for the first time in years

“Welcome back, bunny,” he said, and you could feel his voice rumble through his chest. “We’ve got some naps to catch up on.”

This wasn’t funny. This wasn’t funny At All

Of all the people you could have seen after the potion exploded in your face, it had to be his father?

Well, he supposed it could have been worse. If it had to be any other Diasomnia student, he guessed he was glad it was Lilia

If it had been Sebek, he’d fear that his brusque mannerisms might hurt your feelings

And if it had been Malleus.... Sebek would be even more likely to hurt your feelings, he thought

Still, he couldn’t say it was pleasant watching his love fawn over his father the way you were doing

He was able to convince Malleus to spend more time with Lilia today so that he could keep an eye on you, much to Sebek’s outrage

“Silver! How dare you try to order our lord around just to selfishly spend time with your partner!”

Malleus only laughed and told Sebek to settle down, that Silver was only worried about you since you were affected by a potion

Though, if he were to be even more honest, he’d admit that was worried about you as well. Humans weren’t so hardy as fae and he wasn’t sure what exactly was in the potion

So now the three of them sat in the lounge watching as you giggled at all the attention Lilia was showering upon you, each with different feelings on the situation: annoyance, amusement, and disgust

Lilia chuckled, gently patting your head as you twirled the flower he’d given you between your fingers

It was plucked from one of the vases in the lounge, but it was the thought that counted, right?

You couldn’t seem to see that the affection he was giving you was the same that he’d given Silver when he was a young boy

Or perhaps you didn’t want to see it, just pleased to have him smiling at you and giving you gifts

Still, all daydreams must come to an end. Yours did when, with a lighthearted laugh, Lilia told you that you reminded him of a little boy he used to take care of

Little? You were here thinking he was flirting back while he saw it as babysitting?

Ouch

Suddenly feeling very embarrassed, you put the flower into the nearest vase and gave Lilia a flimsy excuse about homework as you readied to leave

Happening to catch Silver’s gaze on your way out, you made your way over to him, ready to tell him what had just happened

“You don’t see me as a little kid, right? You take me seriously?”

Silver, patient as he’d always been, assured you that you were not childlike (at least not to the point that anyone would treat you like a child) and that everyone took you and your feelings seriously

“He was just teasing you,” he said, smoothing down your hair

Just as you were about to ask once again if he was sure, you raised your head to see him smiling at you

This smile was one reserved for you and you alone

But how did you know that?

And why was your first thought when you saw him to go to him for comfort? How had you known he would comfort you?

And why was he doing it so gently?

Without you even knowing that your expression had changed, Silver patted your head again

“It’s ok,” he said, and you knew he wasn’t just talking about the way Lilia teased you

He’d watched over you

He’d comforted you when you got upset over something silly

He’d forgiven you before you could even apologize

“Silver,” you said, lip wobbling

Rather than say anything else, he simply pulled you into his arms, his muscles relaxing at having you right where you belonged

You nuzzled into his shoulder and if he felt the tears soaking into his jacket, he didn’t mention them

And to finish out this year’s Duke Week, we end on another note of duality. Duke’s a bat who operates mainly during the day, and occasionally is called upon at night. The bright sunlight of day may reveal something different about our hero compared to the cool moonlight of night.

Feeling Weird About Promoting Stories

Anonymous asked: How do I get over being ashamed to promote my story more? While I definitely write for myself, I like a bit of validation as well but I'm too shy and feel a bit...cheap? There's a person in my writing community who goes around begging people to read their stuff. They keep track up to where you've left comments, and then asks why haven't you commented on their other chapters. They also passive aggressively say nobody likes their stuff enough to leave comments and other things to guilt people into guilt reading their stuff. I've been encouraged by friends to market my stories more, but I just can't bring myself to do it because I feel like I'm in the same boat as this person.

First, I want to be clear that what this person (in your writing community) is doing isn't promoting themselves. It's nagging and badgering, and if they ever try that as a fiction writer, they'll have a very short career.

What they're doing is like hitting someone over the head repeatedly with a pillow. Promoting your story is like standing there holding a sign that shows information about your story. You're not asking anyone to read your story. You're not badgering them by appealing to their sympathy or sense of guilt. You're literally just saying, "Here's my story..." It's up to them whether or not they want to check it out.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with or shameful about promoting your work/product. If there was, we wouldn't have TV commercials, print ads, movie trailers, billboards, etc. The key is to do it in a way that doesn't annoy or badger your potential "customer." When promoting books and stories, that means doing it in a way that's quick, interesting to the reader, and not doing it so frequently that they get sick of hearing from you.

Many fan-fiction writers have a social media account associated with their writing which they can use to help drive traffic to their stories. So, for example, an Instagram, Tumblr or Facebook page. The link to this social media would also be shared at the bottom of each story to give fans a place to stay updated on your writing.

A promotional post would look like...

1 - A text post with a little teaser or hook:

Hi, everyone! I just updated Two Balls of Yarn over at AO3. Let's just say this is the chapter where everything goes sideways. You can check it out here: [link to story on AO3, username, or whatever]

2 - A graphic: for example, a book cover for your story, a mood board or aesthetic, a gif set, or story art, along with a caption that says something along the lines of what's up above in #1. Alternatively, it could say something like: Two Balls of Yarn, updated 9/3/23, available here...

If you're have a story in progress that you're posting every week or so, you would do such a promo post every time you update. However, once every few days or so, you might also choose to promo an older story. Depending on the social media platform, you may also want to do other types of posts occasionally, such as episode reviews (if for a TV show), reblogs of fan-art or gif sets related to the fandom, etc. You might even share links to other writers' stories that you really enjoyed.

Also, and this is SO important... 90% of success when promoting on social media is reciprocal engagement. In other words, if you want people to read, like, and comment on your stories, you need to read, like, and comment on other people's stories.

anyone who watches kwite, you should really look at this

kwite hasnt posted anything since these allegations were made. obviously im going to listen to his response (and you should too, its important to have all sides of the story in any situation) but i would like to give a gentle reminder to believe victims. remember that only about 3% of sa allegations are false.

edit: for fucks sake, i know. i’ve seen the fucking video. i know. if you want to blame someone blame orion. the people hurting the me too movement are the ones making false accusations, not the people who believed them. i understand that orion faked evidence and i shouldn’t have believed them. my intention with this post was just to inform people about the situation. it’s not like i said shit like “i always thought smth was off about him”, because i fucking didn’t. i just posted the link to the tweet and said that you should believe victims since the percentage of false SA allegations is very low. what i meant by that was “don’t immediately start saying how x person would never do something like this or otherwise defending them because you don’t think that this person who you don’t know in real life would do that”. what i did not mean by that was “dogpile on the accused immediately before they have a chance to defend themselves” which seems to be how some of y’all are taking it. you know what else i said? “i’m going to listen to his response (and so should you, it’s important to have all sides of the story in any situation)”. i’m so very sorry that i didn’t also say “before making any definitive judgements, which i have not, i just feel uneasy about all this and i want to think that this person wouldn’t lie about something so horrible”. i kinda thought that was implied already. because i didn’t want to think that they would lie about this and yes that was naive of me and i was wrong but i already fucking know that and i already feel shitty about it.

A Breakdown of My Thoughts On Good Omens S2

(That may or may not also be a meta about my predictions for the future interwoven in)

Hey All!

All right, I’ve officially watched Good Omens Season 2 twice, and am almost done my third time through, and I want to put out some thoughts before I start reading other people’s meta about S2 so that my initial thoughts aren’t influenced by those. I was GOING to post it to my GO blog @inevitably-ineffable-husbands first, but decided instead to make the initial post here since this is my largest audience (my GO blog is mostly a reblog blog, but it’s been pretty active the past week with people sending me asks there!).

During my second watch-through, I took some notes about stuff I wanted to expand upon. This got a bit messy, long, and disorganized so I tried to just clean up those notes so they’re more legible. I think I inevitably want to write separate meta about each section, especially after my next few rewatches (AND especially since I want to talk more about 3 or four Big Thoughts that I have about S3).

BEFORE THE BEGINNING

I have running theory that’s kind of on strings right now, but I feel like Aziraphale feels responsible for Crowley’s Fall, that he feels he didn’t do enough to help prevent it, which may explain his actions in Episode 6.

Now, I’m not saying that the entire reason he spends so much time with Crowley is because of some underlying guilt, NOT AT ALL (just a small part of it), but more that he feels like he could have done more to dissuade Crowley from asking questions – It’s why he spends their entire lives trying to convince Crowley he is good! Aziraphale loved seeing an angel so happy with what they were doing, and his warnings were making Crowley unhappy. Instead, Aziraphale decided to compliment Crowley on his work to make him smile again. I think it’s absolutely something to note since this scene and the finale of E6 suspiciously bookend each other, meant to be compared and contrasted with each other.

When Azzie is presented with the opportunity to give Crowley back something he loved doing – being happy making galaxies – Aziraphale took it, because he knows how much Crowley struggles with his own sense of self.

Unfortunately, Azzie thinks Crowley’s inner turmoil is because of who he is and his status as a demon, not because Aziraphale is literally his whole raison d’être and why Crowley keeps coming back to him – he’s only ever truly happy being around Aziraphale.

Crowley, in turn, has become Azzie’s own reason for being, he just sadly hasn’t come to that conclusion yet at this point in the story. Aziraphale thinks that by being the Supreme Archangel, he will have the authority to make things RIGHT, not knowing the info that we as an audience have through Crowley that that is FAR from the truth. I’ll go more into it in my Metatron section below.

Basically I’m saying that this sequence at the beginning exists to show who Aziraphale is as a person, an angel who struggles with his OWN sense of self and his desire to do good and make people happy. Aziraphale is so consumed with believing that he can change things if only he has some control over a situation, then it can all be better; he fails to see that he already has everything he wants right in front of him. He doesn’t think he can TRULY be with Crowley safely unless something changes the status quo, and he naïvely thinks that taking the job is the best way to do so. I think next season we will see Aziraphale finally understand that he CAN’T be “free” until he accepts that he and Crowley ARE better as one.

Another note I wanted to make about this is just an aside commentary: Aziraphale ABSOLUTELY was smitten by Crowley. I suspect until he met Crowley, Aziraphale had never seen another angel be so joyous in his work. It intrigued Azzie and blossomed into something-unknown in him.

Azzie was smitten since before the beginning, and that he indeed pines for Crowley. He’s just terrified about what happens After if he were to do anything about it.

CROWLEY-IS-RAPHAEL THEORY (or another Top-Ranking Angel)

This is one of my favourite theories that circulates in the fandom, and I went into a bit of detail about this on this post here, but I want to expand more upon it briefly (hah).

I think this season further proved Crowley was A Big Angel™ before he Fell (not necessarily Raphael, but it IS the prominent theory about his identity). It’s a Big Point that I think they’ve been planting the seeds for in both seasons so that we as the audience can figure it out; maybe not exactly WHO Crowley was (the general audience wouldn’t know about the theory), more that Crowley was indeed a higher ranking angel than all of them. This could be a big reveal in S3 for the general audience, and will be the reward for the “easter eggs” that the fans picked up on.

Here are the clues that I have so far, both from the fandom theories for S1, and my own observations of S2... I have not read any meta yet as of writing this, so I probably missed some if people are talking about it:

Raphael is notably missing from the main Archangels. It’s very odd, because he was a prominent figure in a story about Abraham

When we first see Crowley in S2, we see him as the primary creator of the universe. That kind of task isn’t given to just any angel. We knew in S1 that Crowley created stars, just not the full story of it.

The only Top Angel who recognizes Crowley is Saraqael and we don’t find that out until Episode 6. They mention that the two worked together during the creation of a nebula. Saraqael is just as old as Crowley and was there Before the Beginning as well. Michael, Uriel, and Gabriel don’t recognize Crowley when they come down during Job’s trials, meaning that Crowley probably Fell before they came to be Top Level Angels.

“A throne, a dominion or ABOVE” is who Muriel said were the only angel classes that could open the file on Gabriel, and Crowley literally just opens it without issue. Crowley faffs it off as an old password (but even then, why would he HAVE an old password for a confidential file?) but I think it’s more true that he actually had and hasn’t lost the clearance he had as a higher order of angel. Muriel NEVER stated that an Archangel can open the file at ALL. BUT I think Gaiman’s Archangels are technically top of the chain so they possibly are able to open the files as well. For shits and giggles, I actually looked into the orders of angels: Muriel’s listed angels are part of the top 4 levels of Angel rankings. Now, I know that the authors took creative liberty with Capital A-Archangels for story purposes, but it’s a very interesting thought, isn’t it? I wonder if Crowley was actually one of the first Supreme Archangels? Just something to nibble on until S3.

The INSANE power level of HALF of a bit of a small miracle from TWO people that can raise 25 dead people is very interesting thing to literally flash red in your face as if to say “THIS IS A REALLY IMPORTANT THING TO REMEMBER, DON’T FORGET IT”. Why? Why make this the catalyst of events in the series if it’s not important and won’t be brought up again? Was Crowley’s power the one that set off alarms in Heaven since his part was to hide Gabe from Heaven?

The writers have deliberately avoided giving us Crowley’s name in Before the Beginning. Crowley has a penchant for changing his name when he wants to distance himself from the past, and there’s a good chance he purposely threw away his Heavenly (dead) name to cast aside any memories of that former life. It’s not who he is anymore, nor who he wants to be ever again.

Crowley constantly references the problems with Heaven, stuff that Aziraphale seems to have no knowledge of.

Crowley has an uncanny sense of where Aziraphale is and what he’s up to at all times. Actually, he’s able to sense trouble from everyone regardless. NOW, this might be down to him just... being so smitten with Aziraphale that perhaps he’s purposely attuned his senses to him, but none of the other angels nor demons seem to be able to do this unless it’s with their own kind. Crowley seems to have it for everyone. This is an odd power for one “measly demon” to have.

I’m certain I’m missing a few other easter eggs here that were mentioned, but in the interim, I think these definitely the ones that are worth noting.

“One Character Split Into Two”

I’ve seen a theory that ties into the Angel Theory where Crowley and Aziraphale are actually two parts of the SAME angel, Raphael, and I only remembered it after I saw this quote from David and Michael’s interview:

“Well, now we’re playing one character that’s sort of split into two”

Interesting choice of words... Did one of them slip up here? I don’t think that this is the case, that it’s just me over-reading into an interview quote, but it is something I did came across in my readings of the Raphael Theory that I thought I should mention.

While trying to find a couple posts to link to for this theory, I came across this super interesting post regarding Aziraphale’s name meaning in Hebrew, and it does list ONE of the “unlikely” possibilities being that it means “Raphael is my strength”. While the author links this to be part of Crowley!Raphael theory, I kind of like it for the Duality Theory, where Crowley IS Azzie’s strength in the sense that he’s the Emotional Support Demon. Crowley IS kind and gentle and protective of Aziraphale. And Azzie, who gets his strength from Raphael Crowley, is the brains (or main single braincell carrier) of the operation.

Kind of like an overly-romantic version of soulmates, literally One Soul split into two people who are meant to find each other again and become whole.

Also, I go back to my point about their power being ASININE at less than half each. WHY IS THIS POSSIBLE? A theory: They are stronger than an Archangel’s miracle together, so it’s not absurd to speculate that it was stronger because it was finally at its full power with the SINGLE soul concocting the miracle.

Anyway, this Duality Theory is probably definitely not the case since we see them both Before the Beginning, BUT we can argue that the scene we saw was their first introduction after being split... Aziraphale just HAPPENS to zoom by, the only single angel in the area? Hmm.

I ALSO just want to say that perhaps when they body-swapped, that may have also activated dormant “together” powers within themselves? Just a little thought I had while writing this section.

Aziraphale is Raphael and Doesn’t Remember

And finally, there’s the theory that they will pull a Shyamalan and reveal that it’s Azzie that’s actually Raphael. I honestly think this is the least likely scenario, given that all the clues they’re putting in the show don’t at all point to this, other than the possible entomology of his name (I read somewhere that Gaiman initially was going to spell it Aziraphael to coincide with the naming conventions of the other Angels) could be a play on the Raphael name and it’s Aziraphale who’s actually the missing Raphael.

I don’t think it’s this at all, for the record. I just wanted to point it out since it is a theory that I’ve seen thrown around linked to the Raphael Theory.

Regardless of which theory it is, I just CANNOT get it out of my head at how often they kept bringing up elements of Crowley’s past, and I just.... mmmm. I know he’s more Important than he lets on. There’s just too many eggs dropped in this season for me to let it go without a bit of grumbling.

Or maybe I’m just looking too much into it. *shrugs* I can’t help it, reading between the lines is a hobby of mine I do so enjoy.

MAGGIE AND NINA

UGH, I absolutely love character mirrors... I love seeing the parallels of characters and how they’re supposed to represent the protagonists in situations.

Regarding Maggie and Nina, upon rewatching the series, I see now that Nina is primarily Aziraphale’s mirror and Maggie is Crowley’s.

For Maggie, as an expansion on a drunken post during my liveblogging:

She’s smitten (”pathetically in love”) with someone just out of reach, hopelessly pining and watching from afar.

She’s STUPIDLY protective of and adores Mr. Fell and Nina.

She, like Crowley with Aziraphale, attempts to make Nina happy: She gives a record as a gift without thinking about the “after” (Crowley tends to do the same)

She’s stands up to the demons and for herself.

She’s “unloved and unloveable”, which Crowley believes himself to be

She’s the one who thought up the plans to get them out of trouble

For Nina:

Fussy and stuck in her ways

Doesn’t want to disappoint but can’t seem to do right by anyone

“we’re just friends, well, we hardly know each other” (which I believe is a line similar to one Aziraphale said in S1)

Afraid to start a new relationship for fear of not being good enough

Makes their love interest wait and hopes they’ll be there when the time is right (She will be)

Her relationship with Lindsay appears to me to be a parallel for Azzie’s relationship with Heaven, with them being "done” with Aziraphale for one too many indiscretions. Lindsay also accuses Nina of “cheating” which Aziraphale technically does with choosing Crowley over Heaven

Their inevitable NOT match-made is a gentle parallel to the painful NOT match-made by our heroes. There’s a bump in the road, and when they’re both ready, they’ll eventually get together.

Also, another thing I wanted to note here, is that Nina’s VERY heartfelt conversation with Crowley is super, SUPER important to AziraCrow’s arc, and I believe it is the catalyst to why Crowley made the decision to try to confess in Episode 6. Like, he genuinely looks like he’s re-evaluated a few things after Nina walks away. And because it was the Aziraphale mirror stating this, Crowley perhaps starts to get ideas in his head that maybe Azzie is ready to move forward, since “it certainly looks like [you’re a couple from the outside]”. Why not make it official then? Maybe Aziraphale IS just waiting for Crowley to make the move.

THE INEFFABLE BUREAUCRACY

I don’t have much to honestly say about this one, other than I am SHOCKED that it only took them 4 years to figure their shit out but our idiots still are at first base after 6000 years. Get your asses moving, idiots!

Seriously though, they’re the biggest pair of mirrors in the season, but funnily enough, I think Gabriel is Crowley’s, and Beez is Azzie’s.

Gabriel, like Crowley to Azzie, introduces human things to Beez.

Gabe questions Heaven and convinces Beez to question their side... essentially he “Falls” when the trial happens, abandoning Heaven.

Gabe throws everything away to be with Beez.

Beez is the one who learns from Gabe, just like Azzie learns from Crowley.

Beez compares themself to Aziraphale: “I imagine he took better care of you than I would have”.

Beez calling Gabe “you silly, silly angel”... Aziraphale called Crowley silly in the first half of the season.

And as an aside, just... the casual “I love you” from Gabe is like an unfiltered Crowley. Because I am certain Crowley will be the first to say it.

That’s just a super simplified version of it all, but just wanted to point it out so y’all can see where I’m coming from on why I think that.

And I REALLY BELIEVE that Aziraphale will repeat this or a similar line to Beez’s in S3:

“I just found something that mattered more to me than choosing sides.”

I think it will be the line before the climax of S3 that Aziraphale says when he finally rejects Heaven. Because that was a POWERFUL line, and it will solidify the mirrors and parallels that are all over this season. I feel like Heaven won’t suffer the same incident happening twice, so we might even finally get to see a ridiculously protective, vengeful angel Aziraphale, to rival all of Protective Crowley moments! WHAT a payoff that would be after two seasons of him just kind of sitting idly by not standing up for himself, eh?? GOD I want it.

CROWLEY AND AZIRAPHALE (& THEIR RELATIONSHIP ARC)

I have just a few notes to immediately take away from S2, but I do plan on expanding more upon these thoughts in my Revision of my A Thought on AziraCrow from an A-Spec Perspective meta I wrote prior to S2.

In that meta I state very clearly how important their relationship and its portrayal is to me. I do concede that, because of this fact, I may be biased in my opinions about literally the entirety of S2′s relationship arc. I ADORE Aziraphale and I really see a lot of myself in him, and I can understand why he did what he did at the end, and why the “rejection” happened. But again, I will touch upon that with the revision meta.

Instead, I took some additional notes while I watched and rewatched S2 that I don’t think I can fit well into that meta without ham-fisting it in. I’ll try my best to break it into yummier sections so it’s not so messy.

Protective / Jealous Crowley (and his possible PTSD)

This point deserved its own little section, because it’s one of my favourite things this season. I love just how BLATANTLY PROTECTIVE and JEALOUS Crowley was, to the point of being near-murderous. I LOVE the confrontation scene with Gabriel so much, because it’s SO revealing to just how terrified Crowley is of Aziraphale being hurt and not being in Crowley’s life again.

I imagine he constantly replays the fire in his head: what if Crowley WASN’T there to save Aziraphale that time??? To step into fire for him??? He’s seen how bad No-Azzie would be with the Bookshop Fire, and I think he STILL believes that it was Hellfire that discorporated Azzie (not the accidental summoning circle). So imagine the psyche of a demon who is hopelessly in love with an angel, having to be face to face with the fire that he believes killed Azzie the first time and THEN have Azzie’s boss basically tell Crowley how little he thinks of Aziraphale? Ooof.

And I also will standby the fanon theory that it was Crowley who left all the fire extinguishers in the bookshop, and not Aziraphale. Bless Azzie, he knows that this is a “New Fear Unlocked” in Crowley and lets him do it to ease the anxiety.

And isn’t it funny that Crowley (aside from the 2 year lockdown) seems to have spent every waking moment keeping a steady eye on Aziraphale? He’s scared, which is why I think he might have some PTSD related to everything he’s seen that Aziraphale is blissfully unaware of.

Their Arc and The Kiss

It’s so clear to me now more than before that Aziraphale IS Crowley’s whole life, to the point of obsession. I think the final arc that Crowley has to go through before he can truly be with Aziraphale proper is learning to let Aziraphale also protect him, to loosen the stranglehold that his fear of loss has on him. That Crowley doesn’t have to shoulder everything by himself and be Aziraphale’s shadow. Because that’s what he is in S2 – a lot of scenes of them together in the modern day is Crowley trailing just slightly behind Azzie, always watching and waiting for trouble and being there for him.

I think Crowley has a genuine fear of loss of control similar to Aziraphale’s. Where Azzie’s is related to “well if I can do this thing then everything will be alright”, Crowley’s is “well if I can just keep Aziraphale safe, then everything will be alright” and that’s... not a good foundation for a relationship. Their Big Breakup had to happen for them to both realize this.

Aziraphale has NOT gone through his “lost my partner” arc like Crowley has with the bookshop fire. I go more into it in the Metatron section, but I think that Azzie’s arc will look more like Crowley being used as a leverage tool against Azzie by Heaven, and those seeds were planted in the final moments of E6. Perhaps something DOES happen when Crowley inevitably comes to his rescue, and he also “loses Crowley for good” (but we know that the totally-made-up-just-now law of parallels will bring him back, we hope).

They’re currently at the Miscommunication and Separation stage of their relationship. They’re both so scared of hurting each other that they DON’T communicate... they DON’T expose each other to “bad things” that they know and instead just focus on the good. The breakup had to happen the way it did for Aziraphale to finally Get A Clue – because I honestly don’t think he realized Crowley loved him until the kiss – and that Azzie himself wasn’t the only one with a crush on his best friend. It had to happen that way for Crowley to understand that his overprotectiveness and lying by omission only harms Aziraphale in the long run.

Listen, I think it’s possible that Azzie thinks that Crowley only did the kiss because he didn’t want Aziraphale to leave at that moment, just another “Crowley thing” that he would do. It was piss-poor timing that was at the tail end of too many emotions and anger, and it’s easy to see how Azzie could have interpreted the kiss wrong.

They both expressed wanting to be together, but misunderstandings will ensue because neither of them are good at communicating WHAT exactly "being together” entails. Crowley thinks Azzie means “working together side by side for a shitty company”. Aziraphale thinks Crowley means “just doing what we always do and having fun doing it”, both without shifting the status quo, when in fact they both mean “I can’t see myself with anyone but you and I want you forever in any way we can be, let’s please shift the status quo”.

Then Crowley made the situation worse (though I do think he was VERY brave in doing it because WE the audience know his intentions are true and honest) by adding a kiss into the mix when they’re both upset and angry at each other. Both are left crying (Aziraphale turns around when the Metatron arrives, and there’s NO reason he should unless it’s to wipe his eyes. And Crowley deliberately put his glasses back on, so I think it was to cover up the tears) and no one gets what they truly want.

I think we’ll get a payoff for this next season, when they’re finally BOTH on the same page and NOT misunderstanding each other. I think there will be a “did you mean it?” from Aziraphale, and then a verbalized “I love you (or a variation of those words)” from Crowley, and then the paralleled line of “our side” I mentioned in the Gabe & Beez section. I think there will be a better, more satisfying kiss next season. I really do have faith about that.

Other AziraCrow Things

I saw a meme that put it best: “Aziraphale fell first, but Crowley fell HARDER”. I think Crowley is more comfortable in his pining because he’s not constrained by the same hangups and “obligations” that Aziraphale has. Aziraphale is worried that it’s “sinful” to love a demon.

I mentioned this before in the Raphael section, but I want to reiterate the point about The Miracle, because it’s SUPER important that this was a big plot point. The fact that it was so strong for something apparently so minuscule according to them proves that they are better together, and now that Heaven is aware that their powers combined to create that miracle, they absolutely want to keep the two of them apart. They suddenly became very aware that Aziraphale and Crowley are RIDICULOUSLY stronger together, because if a tiny miracle can set off alarms in Heaven, what can two full miracles combined create? I feel like this is a BIG Chekov’s gun for S3.

I think a large part about why Crowley is offended by Aziraphale’s acceptance of the job offer is because Crowley is upset that he’s not enough for Aziraphale, especially when he rejected Beez’s offer for Aziraphale. His voice shakes when he asked what Aziraphale did. He’s hurt.

THE TOUCHING in this season is insane. It’s so casual and it’s EVERYWHERE. Their relationship, when it’s finally actualized, is going to be heart wrenching in a good way, the “good sort of hurt”. I truly do believe AziraCrow is endgame.

It amuses me to no end that the fact that these two idiots and their one braincell think that they can make a human relationship work when they’ve been mutually pining over each other for 6,000+ years with very little progress. And good lord, they both take their advice from fiction. It’s hilarious.

Aziraphale’s unending faith in Crowley’s “goodness” also kills me. I love that Crowley actually never wants to kill anything, he’s literally just trying to get by without getting caught, and he always gently encourages Aziraphale to do the same. He cares so much about being gentle with Aziraphale. The scene on the rock where Crowley is SO SOFT with Aziraphale melted my heart. It’s so sweet.

I LOVE that it was CROWLEY who got Aziraphale into food and drinks. It explains a LOT about why Crowley likes watching Aziraphale eat. HE did that. It was his first “gift” to Aziraphale (to his knowledge at this stage, when really it was Crowley’s smile at making the universe that really did it).

Crowley’s devotion to making Aziraphale happy while Azzie is just oblivious to how Crowley feels hurts a LOT, but I want to expand more upon this in my followup reblog to my relationship meta. I see myself SO MUCH in Azzie it’s goddamned scary.

Actually, I don’t think Aziraphale is oblivious to be mean, since he makes a point that “rescuing me makes him so happy”, BUT I think Aziraphale might misinterpret Crowley’s devotion as “Crowley wanting to do good” and not “omg he’s in love with me and wants me safe always”. Which I think is why Azzie is naïve enough to believe that Crowley actually WANTS to do good and not get in trouble for it, so thinks that Crowley will jump at the chance to go back to Heaven with him. Aziraphale always saw the rescues and the saving of children and animals on the same level – as a demon fighting against his nature – when in reality it’s a demon who just does what he wants because he cares about everything and Aziraphale happens to be at the top of that list.

THE METATRON and AZIRAPHALE’S DECISION

This section will be short since I actually covered a large chunk of it in my Manipulation of the Metatron Meta Reply a couple days ago, so please go read that if you’re interested. The shortened, summarized version of that is this:

The Metatron is playing Aziraphale, and he’s only using Aziraphale to bring about Armageddon 2.0, using Aziraphale’s desire to be needed and useful against him. Azzie DIDN’T see what Crowley saw in Heaven when he accessed the files and I don’t think he knows about the Book of Life Threat that was the punishment for harbouring Gabriel, either. Only Crowley knew about that, but didn’t tell Azzie (again, a huge problem in their communication that needs to be worked out).

Heaven and the Metatron KNOW that Crowley is a liability and I suspect they also know how powerful they are together. They needed to drive a wedge between them, and knew Aziraphale was pure-hearted enough to believe that he could make a difference, AND that Crowley would never take up the offer that was presented given his vocal disdain for both Heaven and Hell.

And they chose Aziraphale as opposed to the other angels because the angels actually lust for the power, and that can be unpredictable. But because Azzie has ALWAYS only wanted to do Good with no ulterior motives other than to Make Everything Better, he is easier to manipulate. Crowley is the bargaining chip that will be used against Azzie if he attempts to go rogue like Gabe, that I am pretty certain about. I think that Azzie will find out about the Book of Life because they’ll place blame on Crowley for harbouring Gabriel. Aziraphale has no idea that Gabriel really didn’t have any power. The minute Gabe turned against them, a trial and ousting happened. Aziraphale got himself into a no-win situation, and upon discovering this, he’ll believe that, because he rejected Crowley, Crowley won’t come to save him this time, so to save Crowley, Azzie will go along with the plan. Crowley’s life will literally be in Aziraphale’s hands.

I’ve no idea how Crowley will find out about it (from Muriel maybe?), but Crowley’s POV will be the primary focus next season (since this season was Azzie’s) and we’re gonna see a vengeful demon and I’m here for it. Will there be a dramatic rescue or sacrifice? I think so. Not sure who the whump candle will go to, but my bet is on Crowley this time since we got Aziraphale in S1. Who knows. I’m all for “Aziraphale is hurt, so now Crowley goes feral”, but that’s a personal preference that I can get from fanfics, LOL.

Anyway, the long-short is that this job will be the wake-up call Azzie needs to finally see what Crowley saw, without the manipulation of words to confuse him. That Azzie can’t just “make things better” because he will never be allowed to make things better. As a Supreme Archangel, he will have the clearance and ability to find out everything Crowley did. Unfortunately, it will be too late... or will it? ...

OTHER THINGS ON MY MIND (that I didn’t know where else to put)

Aziraphale NEVER FELL because they didn’t want it to look like an Institutional Problem. I even hazard a guess that NO angel has ever Fell since the Initial and Only Fall that sent Satan, Crowley and the other demons down. But Aziraphale doesn’t know that and I suspect that it’s this constant fear of Falling that keeps him complacent to Heaven. He’ll find out how they’ve really been dealing with problems when he’s in his new position.

And I think Azzie also never fell because Crowley made a point to never ever snitch. He knows they would eat him alive in Hell, so he protects Azzie from that as well.

I love that the Bentley clearly has a favourite and it isn’t Crowley!!! The car literally tries to follow Aziraphale. It’s so cute.

And on the subject of the Bentley... Crowley can feel everything going on with his car?? So like... is that a metaphor for Aziraphale being inside Crowley or.....? hee hee heeeeeee.

I loved that David got to use his natural accent in the Edinburgh scenes. IT’S SO PRECIOUS OMG.

And and and while Crowley was high off his rocker, he clearly says “Where are you??? 😢” and Aziraphale had to reassure him that he was there. So sweet.

Aziraphale and his inability to do literally anything humans do “the normal way” (mobile phone use, be a “newspaper man”, properly drive, learn French properly) while turning around and lowkey mocking Muriel is... something else. What a hypocritical dork.

The realization that they have a WHOLE-ASSED apology dance hit me like a tonne of bricks, and we KNOW it’s coming back in S3. There needs to be an entire cabaret from Azzie this time ‘round, LOL.

FINAL THOUGHTS

I adored season two, more than season one for sure, and I loved that it built up upon the AziraCrow relationship. It was an interlude that lets us know that they’re sort of in a rut, stuck in a status quo that both are afraid of changing, and that they both need a catalyst event to happen to truly be together.

I remain more hopeful and certain for a satisfying conclusion to their arc than I ever have before. Which is saying a lot because privately, after Sherlock S4, I kind of was ready to not put my faith in another show to canonize a ship I love ever again.

But there’s a huge difference between this finale and Sherlock S4′s finale: GO S2 DOESN’T feel complete, and Neil wants to finish the story. I went into more detail about it on this post here, but essentially it boils down to S4 left me feeling hollow and empty because its 4th season felt so detached from what we already saw. It felt like the closing of a book with the wrong pages in it, with no confirmation in sight of concluding the series proper with the S5 they’ve been promising for years. GOS2, on the other hand, left us feeling like everything’s WRONG but in the right way, you know what I mean? Like there is a part two to this saga to be completed. And that Neil himself seems determined to finish the story regardless of what happens.

I like to think that both Michael and David know what Gaiman plans for the endgame of their characters, given that Gaiman HAS said he does “have the final fifteen pages of Episode 6 [...] written. Given what we got in S2 with The Kiss, and Michael and David’s adoration for this story and its characters, I am hopeful that Neil entrusted them with what he wants for AziraCrow. They in turn play those characters better for it.

So yeah, maybe I’m just putting clown shoes back on with this one, but I will remain... optimistically skeptical. Like, I REALLY want and believe that AziraCrow is endgame, that the Husbands will be actual husbands, but I also will remain skeptical that it can happen and not be upset if it doesn’t. I got a kiss (a terrible one, but a kiss nonetheless). I got a tonne of touching. I got them dancing together. I think that’s more than we ever could have hoped for, and it’s already leagues above what I am used to.

To conclude, here are some more questions, thoughts, and hopes for S3:

There are SO many “Chekov gun” moments in play in S2 currently, little things that really seem so pointless to have introduced (like the apology dance) and I am TRULY hoping that it’s true that Gaiman didn’t put things in this series unless it’s important later. I feel it will all come back around. Where S1 had open and closed plot points, S2 did NOT.

Why was Crowley able to get into Heaven without any issue? Is THIS part of the Ineffable Plan? Why does Crowley not want anyone to know who he was before the Fall? It’s clear Crowley POSSIBLY knows more than he lets on about Everything. I think he was at one time the Supreme Archangel... Gabriel’s banishment could foreshadow this, given that Gabe is deliberately used as a Crowley mirror in this season.

I hope for a stupidly emotional, makes-me-sob-fat-tears, reunion, confession and acceptance of each other. Oh, and of course, the infamous cottage in Sussex we all hope for. I am a SUCKER for emotional beats and I CRAVE it.

Oh, and a HUGE apology dance from Aziraphale. You introduced that shit, I want to see Azzie go all out in return.

I think Crowley will be the first one to confess verbally. The Gabriel mirror kind of sealed that for me.

1- When did you start playing Choices? What was the first book you played?

Way back when Choices first launched. My first book was The Freshman Series - book 1. It was so fun to play the books and get super excited for new chapters. I was waiting until midnight for new chapters. It was the first time I’ve played an app where I could make decisions and use diamonds for VIP scenes 😍

2- When and why did you join Choices fandom?

I joined the Choices fandom back in 2021. I really missed Open Heart after book 3 ended (and left me wanting more) So I wanted to see if there were any more stories I could binge, and that’s how I stumbled upon Tumblr 🥰

3- How did you pick your blog name?

It may sound weird but it just came to me. Peonies are my favorite flowers. As soon as I thought peonie I quickly added rose and I was like that sounds so cool and it’s unique which I love 😍 And that’s how peonierose was born.

4- Pull up the first post in your archive, and tell us about it!

Gosh. This feels like forever ago. When I first came on tumblr I didn’t post or reblog much 😅 (too shy to interact with anyone 🙈)

5- How long have you been writing fanfiction?

It has been 2 years in August this year since I’ve actively started writing fanfic 🥰 (I still can’t believe I actually made the leap and decided to post any of my stories).

6- What is your favorite Choices book, and what is your favorite Choices book to write about?

You’re really going to make me choose? There are so many good ones 😱

I love to write for two of my favorite books which are Nightbound and Open Heart. Those are the ones I feel most connected to 🥰 Though I’d love to venture out and make edits or social media posts for other choices books too.

7- Share the first fanfic you wrote with us. Do you still like it, or would you change it if you were writing it today?

I wrote Robin‘s Tell-All from TNA, and it was the first fic I’ve ever shared. I really wanted to write a story from Robin‘s POV and how all that happened in TNA affected him and all the mistakes he made.

I wanted to showcase his inner struggle.

I remember how nervous I was to post something that I’d written. I thought to myself, will people even like my story? And if they do like it, then what? It was a great rush to see the reblogs, and the love for my first-ever posted fic.

If I could change one thing, it would probably be the moodboard 😅

8- What is your favorite fic that you’ve written?

That is a tough question, because to me every fic I‘ve written has a special place in my heart. So every story reflects the feelings I’ve felt while writing my story.

Buuuuut if I had to choose: It would be a tie between By a Landslide (Bryce and Luna), the 3rd chapter of my Nightbound series - Unexpected and Go with the Flow (Luna & Bryce)

9- Do you have a fic that you didn’t expect to be well received, but it was? What about one you expected to be but found could use a little more love?

I actually didn’t think I’m a sucker for you, A Pinch of Pink and Blue…This one‘s for you, Cinnamon Sugar and Wildflower, to be as well received as they did.

However, I think Bittersweet Symphony and Losing Game (1 / 4) could use some more love.

Both stories are amazing and I think you’ll love both my pairings. Luna & Bryce and of course Maxine and Adam.

10- If you could write only angst, fluff, or smut for the rest of your writing life, which would it be and why?

I am by no means a smut writer 😅 Maybe I’ll get there 😅 But I’d go with a mix between angst and fluff. I think a nice balance between these two would be good.

11- Do you ever recognize yourself in any of your MCs or in your writing?

Yeah. Tons of times. Take Luna for example. She has anxiety like me, and her appearance, such as her blue-green eyes and dark blonde hair, are like mine. But character wise we’re complete opposites. I wish I’d be more artistic like her 🩷

And Bryce is an Aries like me, and so many things he says or does make me go back, and I’m like, yeah, I would say something like that. Other than that, I’ve learned to give my characters real flaws and make them human, if that makes sense. But it does happen that they end up with character traits that are mine, and then I lean back and realize I’ve given my characters some of my weird and quirky character traits 🤣

12- What element of writing do you struggle with most?

Damn. Umm…I struggle with a lot of things. Finding the right words sometimes because English isn’t my first, not even my second language. I speak six languages, so it's sometimes hard to find the words to describe things.

Showing, not telling that’s another thing I struggle with.

That and if I have to keep a deadline to post something 🤣 Because it takes me forever to post anything I’m not 100% behind and happy with.

13- Do you have any neglected work you really want to finish?

How much time you’ve got? I have over 30 wips, that want some desperate attention, and I always keep adding new wips, whenever something inspires me to write 😅

I’ve found some new inspo for Somewhere Only We Know 🥰 Apart from that I’d love to take another look at my two AU‘s Amber & my Nightbound series. So we’ll see what wips I can manage to finish 😅

14- If someone you know in real life (who isn’t involved in fandoms) asked to read your work, would you let them? If yes, what would you recommend they read first?

Sure. I’d love to get an outside opinion of my work and my characters that are so beloved and close to my heart 🩷

I actually tell people that I write fanfic and original work. And I’ve sent some samples their way and they liked it. Which makes me feel more confident in my writing (not saying it’s perfect, there’s always room for improvement, but it’s getting better).

As for which story to start? I’d say start with Only Love for Bryce and Luna. That was my first story of them and I consider it their start.

Then continue with Always & Forever and Go with the Flow.

Those were my first posted stories about Luna & Bryce and I think you’ll like them. It would give you a good understanding of my storytelling and my characters.

15 - Are there any writers (published authors and/or fanfic writers) who influenced your writing?

There are a couple of authors I admire - Chloe Neil, Elise Kova, Nalini Singh, Rachel Caine (R.I.), Rebecca Yarros, and many more. They have influenced and shaped my writing, my fantasy world-building, and, of course building my characters. These authors know how to tell great stories, which makes me admire them so much.

As for fanfic writers who’ve inspired me? I’d love to give a special shoutout to one of my closest friends who’s been my beta reader for almost anything @annieruok She’s an amazing person and writer. Thanks so much for all the times listening to my ramblings about scenes and characters 🩷

16- Which one of your stories would you most like to see as a movie/series?

My Nightbound series hands down. That is a story that really deserves to be on the big screen or as a Netflix show. I’m not picky.

I’d love to see Grey, Gretel and Hänsel kick some ass. It’s a unique enough story to garner some attention 🥰 I’ve worked really hard to write it and it took me a year to come up with chapters, character names and so forth.

Also Somewhere Only We Know would be cool to see on the big screen. I’d probably weep from joy if any of my stories were ever developed as a movie or series 🥰🥹

17- Do you write original fiction?

Yes, I actually do. I have several original works in my Google docs. And just recently, I had an idea for another original story (I don’t feel comfortable sharing it yet) 🥰 But let’s just say it’s fun to come up with the characters and world-building and everything in between.

18 - What other hobbies do you have?

Reading books, trying out new recipes in the kitchen. This also reminds me I need to exercise more 🤣

Taking walks & going shopping.

Hanging out with friends and binge watching shows and movies on Disney+ and Netflix. Just trying to enjoy every single moment that every day has to offer 🩷

19 - What’s your favorite emoji?

It’s a toss between these three 🥰😍🩷 (What can I say I love pink 🩷 not just because of the new Barbie movie and the pinkmania 🩷)

20: BONUS - tell us anything you’d like (if you want to).
