Screeches to a halt in a cloud of dust HELLO I'M LATE I'M SORRY. The first Saturday of a fresh month is tomorrow, which means it's time for another community art party hosted by [VS] Verdant Shield! Last week I ran a(n also late) poll and the winner was Rata Sum, a place we haven't been since the very first small test party all the way back in January!
For those who haven't heard of them before, art parties are an idea carried over from Final Fantasy XIV - big (or small!) get-togethers for artists/writers/creatives of all kinds to hang out, chat, and create together! Put together your most eye-catching look, find someone who inspires you, and get to work! Afterwards, everyone uses the party-specific tag (ours is #VSArtParty) to share their creations so others can see and spread the love around via reblogs! The tl;dr I always say for these is this: the 'goal' of an art party isn't to be drawn, but to draw others, and share with the community!
Party details are in the image above, but I'll toss an expanded text version under the cut with things like /squadjoin information!
Location Details:
A guildmate suggested we have the party down by the docks this time so we could have a boat party, and I totally agree! I may have put Antidawn Anchorage as the primary land point, but if you have a skiff feel free to take to the water as well! Worth noting that in order to interact with others' skiffs you must be in the same party or squad, and you do not need to have a skiff of your own to interact with a party/squad member's one!
Now, for those not familiar with Rata Sum, here's a quick image of the spot in question, which can be reached by taking the Antidawn Anchorage or Dawnside Quay asura gates nearby the Magicat Court (Antidawn) and Metrical Court (Dawnside) Waypoints:
Time & Squad Details:
As always, the party will consist of two separate events, with an hour break in between (though technically people jump from one to the other immediately anyway so the NA one tends to 'start' earlier than the scheduled time).
The first party will be on EU servers and begin at 9pm Central European Summer Time (aka 3pm Eastern Daylight Time or 5 hours before in-game reset). I’ll be hosting on my EU alt account, so to join either /squadjoin or whisper Toxicologist Mosse for an invite.
The second party will be on NA servers and begin at 7pm Eastern Daylight Time (aka 1am Central European Summer Time or 1 hour before in-game reset). This one I’ll be hosting on my main account, so to join either /squadjoin or whisper Teekzi for an invite.
IMPORTANT NOTE (mostly for the NA party): If you join and the squad is at or above 45 members, please just taxi into the right map and then hop out of squad to allow others to do the same! Essentially all conversation now happens in say chat so you won’t miss out on anything by being outside of squad!
Closing Words:
My apologies for the extremely short notice on this one everyone, I've been slapped with a bunch of IRL stuff (it's nothing bad, don't worry!) that's kept me out of the game for longer than I'd hoped. With all the exciting game news buzzing around lately though, I might just have to set aside some proper time to let myself get invested in this again, we'll see! Anyway, as always, thank you so much to everyone who comes out to these events and helps make them so special - I can't wait to see you all again tomorrow night! ♥

i made my first witcher video!
hi everybody! if you've been following me for a while, you may know that i've been working on creating a witcher analysis youtube channel for a couple of years now (the kind that does video essays and deep dives).
though my first video is not an analysis, it is equally important—a biography and bibliography of author andrzej sapkowski's life and works! if you ever wondered how the witcher was created, this video is for you!
also... it's over an hour long! so i'd recommend that you watch it when you can get some time on your hands :)

The results of the best K3 song bracket are known!
And the winner is... Oya lélé!!!
Tele-Romeo finished second and Alle Kleuren ended up in the third place. Hart verloren just fell out of the top 3 and ended up in fourth place.
And with this the competition is over, I posted the bracket first on March 22nd and the first polls the day after. That means it took over 3 months to determine the very best K3 song of all 4 generations. I had great fun seeing people campaigning for their favourite songs in the notes, why they think a certain song is better and occasionally sharing stories of times they performed one of these songs as a kid, so thanks to everyone who voted and/or reblogged some polls, some comments really made my day and I hope this tournament reminded you of some old songs or introduced you to some new ones.
Speaking of which, my next plans are to run 3 more tournaments to determine the best song of each non-og generation, because the og was (kinda understandably) overrepresented in this tournament and I thought it might be fun to give the other 3 formations a chance and some other people also liked this idea when I polled people a few weeks ago. So, ehm, keep posted for that I guess. It won't start immediately, because I am kinda busy atm and I need to figure out some logistics for the kkj generation (does de revolutie count as an og song or a kkj song??), so you might see me outsourcing some decisions through polls in the coming weeks.
Finally, now that I have your attention, I've been running a 2-year campaign to get K3 in the NPO radio 2 top 2000, and specifically Oya lélé and since Oya lélé did actually win this, I think I might be able to convince you to vote for Oya lélé as the K3 song representation of the top 2000, so if you would please consider voting for Oya lélé in 5 months and if possible try to convince other people to do so too, you would make me very happy. (Also because I do not have other social media so I can only campaign for it here)

Comments under this Stranger News tweet where they displayed a fanart Byler poster made by (incredibly talented) @almirondesign
(Traslation: rainbow at every hour, minute, second... stop!)
Apart from it being an amazing ship, this is one of the major reasons I can't wait for byler to be canon in s5. I just know it's gonna piss off SO many homophobes. We're gonna see the true colors of so many "allies" who say they're not homophobic until they see gay people being represented in their favorite tv show. We're gonna see so many homophobes who we didn't even want here getting out of the fandom. We're gonna have so many queer kids and people in general who are gonna have representation through 2 major characters in one of the most famous tv shows of the last century.
The true spirit of Stranger Things is freaks, losers, the outcasts of society who are meant to feel left out and marginalized until they force themselves to fit in; being the heroes of the story. They're not gonna make a gay kid's sexuality serve the only purpose of pushing a straight pairing's plot forward. They're not gonna give millions of queer kids out there the message of "sorry, but you can't get your happy ending with who you want to!! maybe if you had come out the right way you could have... what a shame :((". So, for once, we're not gonna be queerbated. Byler is not gonna go down in history as forced representation.
We're going to have so many homophobes mad bc, surprise!!! Queer people exist and our love stories can be as beautiful and valid as any straight one!!!
St 5 is going to be a huge step for queer people all over the world and I can't wait to see it
(Sorry for the long rant lmao but I made the mistake of checking twitter during pride and now I'm mad af bc of all the shit I found anyways HAPPY PRIDE MONTH!!!!!)
