I just saw a post by @kennyomegasweave about how scott and isaac were originally supposed to date and isaac was going to be the one to die because daniel wanted to leave the show. MTV executives refused to greenlight it bc "scott's in love with allison" and crystal wanted to leave the show too so they ended up killing her off instead.

and can I just say that this is one instance where I actually believe they tried for the queer rep? scisaac has so many little moments that can't be totally explained away as straight... "you're not going alone" & scott obviously being isaac's anchor to some degree & "no I mean you" & the list goes on... but scott's just kind of Like That. he's so earnest and caring and has a bleeding heart for sad strays and so the way he is with isaac can very easily be read as romantic or platonic/familial.

it's different for isaac. he always intrinsically trusts scott, even very early on in S2, in a way he doesn't with anyone else. he's gentle and caring with scott when he's otherwise got a prickly, abrasive attitude. he chooses to stay and fight rather than leave with erica and boyd who were, at the time, his only real pack. time and time again, isaac behaves in conflicting ways that just don't make sense for his personality unless you read it as romantic feelings for scott.

They shut the studio down after the lack of success from the second game. The director (who was aiming for a trilogy, mind you) or any of the OG staff may never see a cent from the rerelease because of legal shenanigans when you shut down a business.

Their big cheese's first three cartoons (two without synchronized sound) are in the public domain.

All of the forgotten rabbit's cartoons from His era are public domain too.

Dolphin and its upscaler tool are free.

So are the original disc images of the first and second games, if you know where to find them.

AND so are the fan retextures, because Dolphin gives modders that option.

It's not worth 60 USD when the company isn't even (and never has been) bothering to hide that it just wants to keep iconic character IPs for as long as possible.

One of the things that I always see I see in fandoms that always bugs me a little is whenever you have a villain, people tend to take characterization of that character to one of two extremes. They’re either vilified to death and sometimes legitimately hated on, quite possibly well beyond what they actually deserve, OR they’re taken to the total opposite extreme and have their wrongdoings just glossed over like it’s nothing (this one tends to happen more often if the character is attractive, but it’s not always the case.)

This happens in a lot of fandoms, but I’m specifically talking about Volo right now because damn.

Not only are both of those things suuuper weird and uncomfortable to see with Volo and the Submas twins for a lot of reasons (some of which I’m not really qualified to talk about in great detail as I am a white western bitch, so I won’t, but you know what they are), but it’s also just so fuuuucking boring from a characterization standpoint, and I CAN go into detail about why that bothers me because writing is one of the only things I am actually really damn good at. Ignoring the terrible things Volo character did makes him dull as fuck and almost definitely makes him seem at least somewhat out of character. It’s just stripping a character of all the good flavor that an antagonist has. The same thing can be said if you take him to the other extreme as more of the Submas fandom tends to do though, if you ignore the good a character does and only focus on the bad then it just leaves you with a very, very flat character.

I’ve seen some other people mention this as well with excellent points, and honestly I really do just want to do the character some justice if I start writing proper fanfiction for Pokemon sometime. He’s a guy, and while it’s very important that the bad things he does doesn’t get brushed under the rug (because he does cause a lot of problems in PLA and betrays a lot of people for his goals), it’s also straight fucked to use him as an angst fueling punching bag for Ingo and Emmet, especially if that’s all he’s being depicted as. 

Volo has almost no backstory or detailed motive in game as to why he does the things he does and that means he has so much fucking potential for incredible stories that fans could make for him, but all anyone cares about is Emmet (and sometimes Ingo and the MC), quite literally, beating him up. What a waste of a good character.

This shit is fine to post, but nsfw artists get flagged? My friend's own pics of themselves in a normal shirt get marked as mature content. Artists have to crop their nsfw art and link to other places to show their art off for fear of getting flagged and marked.

I'm not knocking this person like make your blog more power to you, but why does their blog get to post or reblog nsfw stuff but everyone else has to tiptoe? I'm not sure if it's intentional or if the flagging system is so dog shit. Probably both.
