On the topic of manwha, are there any titles you'd reccomend?

Like you I prefer enemies-to-lovers and dubcon in stories too so if you have any recommendations I'd love to know them ☺

I've read like... well over 200-250 manhwa now - I did used to categorise them all on Goodreads, but recently Goodreads has been adding them to the category 'not a book' which I would find less hypocritical if they did the same with unpublished fanfiction, but of course...they haven't.

As a result, I kind of have to recategorise all the webtoons and manga I've read onto LibraryThing, but that makes reccing things really hard, because my ADHD makes it impossible for me to remember names and authors off the top of my head almost all the time, so I use categorisation services like Goodreads to help me out.

That being said, a lot of manhwa are enemies-to-lovers and dubcon as well, especially some of the most popular ones. I read across a lot of different genres, I suppose for ones I've been enjoying lately (but as a result many aren't completed) there's Define the Relationship (not enemies-to-lovers but alpha/alpha with dubcon), XXX-Buddy / Perfect Buddy (which is one of the best things in the whole world), Semantic Error (which is also a completed light novel and I believe a live action), Murderer Llewellyn's Enchanting Dinner Invitation, On or Off, I Can Hear It Without a Microphone / Full Volume (though I don't rate the side story at the end so I've stopped reading), Love for Sale, and B-Class Guide. I also really love Highest Order (Love so Pure) which isn't enemies-to-lovers or really dubcon, but is just a really amazingly written manhwa with one of my favourite side-stories of all-time. Oh and how can I forget Aporia, which is incredible, and idk why so many people fucking sleep on this one.

But yeah I'm probably missing like 50 recommendations. These are either ones I'm reading now or intend to reread soon. I'm not including any manga here, just webtoons / manhwa.

But that can be a good place to start! Not all of these are enemies-to-lovers and not all of these have dubcon and some have both and some have only one or only the other, lol. I go by good writing / writing that I find interesting.

it seems to me like eldest tries really hard to make it seem like arya has a lot of personality and complexity as a character and frankly it's not really working imho. like. there's a scene that really frustrates me. where we're told that she and eragon sit and talk about their families, their lives and whatnot, but that dialogue just. doesn't exist. how the hell am i supposed to see her as something other than a clear attempt from paolini to create "ideal woman who is so perfect and wonderful and yet will eventually fall for our protagonist"? give her some depth! make it make sense to me that eragon would be interested in her, aside from the fact that she's oh so beautiful. paolini makes him literally say to her that he cares about his friendship with her, but tbh i don't think any of us do either because their friendship has never been properly developed. most of the time it's eragon's inner monologue going "wow she's so pretty and wonderful and has such stealth and her figure and her hair and omg she'd never be with me :(" and her being mean to the dwarves or smth.

I think kind complicated put blame onto Mahiru, she didn't asked for the murder of Natsumi, she cover the murder more because Sato took the photos(sure that I doubt she would have reported). But honestly, between Natsumi, who was a bully, Peko, Fuyuhiko and Sato who really killed someone, trying to blame Mahiru, who was a victim of bullying, losing her friend and murder, is very... complicated.

This seems to make an assumption that there is a single share of blame that must all go to someone, which isn't how things work.

I understand that the movie does push the idea that Barry is ‘mentally 10′, but it’s important for us viewers and writers to question that and do research before we write for characters like him. The truth is - we don’t know what he usually behaves like. We don’t know what he needs help with and what he doesn’t. We don’t know if some things have even become a non-issue again, once he was back with his family. We don’t know. And it’s wrong to just take the ‘he is actually a child in an adult’s body’ and run with it, when it’s not true at all. He’s an adult with certain needs and impairments/limitations. He is not a child.

(To be perfectly honest, I had to edit my fics about him again to make sure I take out all sentences, or change them, if they even implied the ‘mental age’ theory; but generally speaking, I do treat him like an adult in my fics, the way all of us should. Because he’s an adult. He drives an RV. He most likely isn’t really educated past the age of seven and lacks a lot of basic knowledge he should have because of that. He has been heavily drugged since he was a child for who knows how long, which definitely messed with his development. But he’s an adult nonetheless. Mentally disabled people are not children and shouldn’t be treated as such.)
