TRUTH WAS, ETHAN HAD BEEN SIMPING HARD FOR Y/N SINCE HIS VERY FIRST DAY OF WORK. How could he not when she had that graceful smile on her face that made every customer weak in the knees? Ethan clearly wasn’t not the exception, he could work-ship the ground she walked on. But the attraction was very much one-sided.

It wasn’t that he was invisible to her, but she just didn’t see him the way he wanted to. They did flirt a bit, but while he did it with the intention of making her notice him in a romantic way, she only did it for fun, there weren’t any second intentions involved. Besides, Ethan had to watch every day the way boys would hit on her and asked for her number and how she wrote it in the palm of their hands. It broke his heart knowing she would never see him in another light.

“How many times did you have to write your number in someone’s hands today?” Ethan asked faking a laugh as they closed the cafe.

Y/N rolled her eyes playfully “Today was a chill one, so not much.”

“Have you ever gone on a date with any those guys?” he asked curiously. She never talked about going on dates, or never mentioned she was seeing or texting someone.

Y/N looked at him with surprise eyes. “Eth, please tell me you don’t believe I actually hand in my number that easily.”

“Wait what?”

The girl laughed, and punch him in the arm lightly. “You do think that! God, Ethan. I give them fake numbers. I don’t want random people texting me.”

“Can’t you just say no?” Ethan asked confused.

“I don’t want them to feel bad.” she shrugged.

“So you give them fake numbers and make some strangers let them know the pretty barista gave them a fake number?” Ethan asked incredulously.

Y/N grimaced “Okay, that sounds bad too, but I least I don’t have to see their rejected faces and they don’t get turned down in public.”

Ethan laughed, and the pressure on his chest evaporated. Was it crazy that he felt relieved by this new information? A bit. “So that means that I shouldn’t bother to ask for your number?” he acted disappointed.

Y/N chuckled. “Econ geniuses are my weakness, so I would never give you a fake number.”

Ethan blushed and shoved her “Shut up! I’m not an Econ genius.”

“Anyone who passes that dreadful class is a genius in my eyes” she said, shoving him back. “Let me give you my number, but don’t ghost me, okay?”

“I would never.”

“Good, cause you’d break my heart.” she joked, writing down her real number on his palm. Her hand felt so good on his, Ethan wished she would never let go. “There you go. Text me, we should hang out outside of work.”

“Really?” Ethan’s eyes shone and his heart started doing cartwheels.

“Of course, Eth. I actually like being around you” she smiled softly. Ethan would definitely mark that day as the best day of his life. “I can set you up with someone and we can go on a double date!” his face fell. So much for hoping. “Or, we can do something just the two of us. Now that I think about it, we don’t actually know much about the other. What a fake friendship we have.”

Friendship. That’s all he was ever going to have with her, and he needed to come in terms with it. Y/N was amazing, and he should be lucky to have her around, even if it was just as a friend.

Although, on a wednesday morning, the turning point happened. The university’s cafe was completely packed, and so they had to work ten times faster than usual. Stress filled the air of the small shop.

“Ugh, stupid machine! You had to choose this day to work like shit?” Y/N groaned, hitting the coffee machine. The coffee poured down slowly, and knowing it was going to take ages for the cup to be filled, she took one step backwards in frustration.

Ethan, who was trying to get to the other side to deliver a drink, bumped into her. Being in a rush, he almost made her lose her balance when they collided, but he grabbed her by the waist just in time to steady her. “Sorry! Are you okay?”

Y/N wanted to say yes, but she was not okay. Not because he had hurt her, but because the feeling of his big hand on her waist left her speechless. It produced a glitch on her body, a malfunction that caused her brain to not be able to utter a single syllable. She only managed to nod before setting her eyes on the coffee machine as if it were the most interesting thing on the planet.

For the rest of the stressful shift, Y/N found herself sneaking glances towards the tall boy every time she could. She couldn’t help it, her eyes diverted on their own and every time Ethan would pass by her, her whole body tensed and yearned for one more touch.

Ethan’s electric touch had been like a bug that altered her whole system. How in the world did she not notice him like that before? The way his cute polo shirt hung to him like a second skin—giving him the look of a hot nerd that Y/N was now a complete sucker for—, the way he adorably frowned in concentration as he prepared a drink, or the way his beautiful curls sticked to his forehead because of the sweat—honestly, she had no idea sweaty men could be that attractive. That’s what Ethan Landry was. He was so fucking attractive, and now that Y/N saw it, it took her lots of self-control not to push him against the counter and kiss the hell out of him.

“Tough shift, right?” Ethan said as they cleaned the now empty cafe.

Her gaze dropped down to his arms, his biceps flexed as he cleaned the counter. He was so hot. “Yeah.”

“What’s wrong with you today? You seemed off the entire day.” he asked confused.

“Nothing, I’m just really tired.” she said casually, forcing herself to look away from him.

“God, yes. My body is about to collapse.” he groaned as he stretched his arms. The action cause his shirt to ride up, showing a bit of his lower stomach.

Y/N’s grip on the cloth tightened as she felt the heat growing between her legs. I get it, I’m an idiot for not noticing how hot he is! Stop torturing me, she said to her hormones. “Same.”

Ethan laughed. “Seriously, what’s going on? Do you feel sick? You’re flushed, your face is really red. Do you have a fever? I can finish cleaning, you can go home, or wait for me and I’ll drive you.”

And he was so fucking sweet too. She wanted to rip her heart out and give it to him. “No, I’m okay.”

But Ethan didn’t believe her, so he walked towards her and cup her cheeks, making her breath hitch. “You’re not. What are you not telling me?”

Y/N sighed, he was not going to let go. “Trust me, you don’t wanna know.”

“I wanted to know, now I need to know. Tell me.”

“I’m horny, okay?” she blurted out in an exasperated tone. “And it’s your fault!”

“W-what?” he took one step back, eyes widened.

“Yes, you put your hand on me today and I can’t just stop thinking about your long fingers on the curve of my waist. And you won’t believe half the things I’ve seen inside my head since. You have been driving me crazy the whole day”

Ethan’s mouth was dry. At first, he thought she was messing with him, but her shiny glossy doe eyes were telling him a different story. She wanted him. “Try me. No, actually, show me.”

And it was then when the cafe’s temperature raised, when lust filled the air and their bodies turned warm with need. Five seconds later, Y/N fastened herself to him with a stitch—she grabbed Ethan by the collar of his polo, and tugged him down to met her lips in one ferocious kiss. She walked him backwards until his lower back hit the edge of the counter. He moaned both in pain and excitement.

The girl sneaked her hand down his shirt and felt his toned abs, groaning in delight against his lips. “So fucking hot. I need you.”

Ethan grabbed her by the forearms to change positions and then turned Y/N around so that her back was against his front and her stomach pressed against the marble counter.

He bit her earlobe and then started dragging his wet lips down the skin of her neck, sucking on her sweet spot. His veiny rough hands slipped inside her shirt, exploring the skin of her stomach and then they settled on her waist, giving them a squeeze. “You liked this, didn’t you?”

“Yes.” she replied breathlessly, resting the back of her head on his chest.

“Isn’t this better though?” he asked huskily on her ear as he trailed his fingers upwards, cupping her breasts. “No bra? Lucky me.”

“Eth…” she moaned, clenching her thighs, desperate have him inside her.

Noticing that, Ethan used his right leg to spread her thighs apart. “Bend over the counter, love.” he commanded, raising her skirt up to her hips and unbuckling his belt. “Be a good girl and moan my name.”

When they left the cafe, they were both still flushed by the dirty and hot encounter they had. Ethan still couldn’t comprehend how the day ended—he had walked inside the cafe that morning, the idea of fucking Y/N didn’t even cross his mind because he knew he had no chance. And now he was leaving with his hand intertwined in hers.

Y/N, on the other hand, didn’t even want to think about her life before that shift, when she wasn’t at Ethan’s mercy, when she didn’t know he kissed slowly and with passion, that he was a very dirty talker, that his touch felt like heaven, that he loved being praised as much as he loved praising, that he made the hottest sounds and that even though he had been attractively rough during sex, he was a fucking sweetheart after it, making sure she wasn’t in pain and had a good time. "Ugh..." You wake up with a groan, rubbing your eyes and assessing your surroundings. Noticing the still-dark environment surrounding you, you reach out for your phone which was on the bedside table.

2:42 AM. The phone lights blare onto your face, causing you to squint. As you scroll through your notifications, two catch your eye— a text bubble from Miles sent a few minutes ago, and a promo from McDonalds for their new meal.

Miles’ message was rather cryptic, and a normal person wouldn’t understand what “ruawkkekkrkx” meant. But a few months of these kind of typos (which meant Miles was either on patrol or barely awake), and one learns the language.

On the other hand, the McDonalds notif… if it was a propaganda technique, it was definitely working on you. You click on the advertisement, and damn did that chicken burger look good…

You decide to go back to Miles’ text. After opening the app and keyboard, your fingers feel too heavy to type… so you tap on the call button instead.

After exactly three rings, he picks up; in place of his normally spunky voice was a low, raspy one.

“Hey. You good? What’s with the random call?” Damn, his voice was unintentionally sultry as hell. Would it be weird if you started screen recording? He wouldn't know, right?

Ahem. Anyway.

"Oh, I'm fine, a little hungry though. I just didn't wanna type. Um, nice voice by the way." You hear a chuckle through the screen.

"So, you hungry? I mean, I could like, get you a snack or whatever."

"It is literally 3 in the morning right now." Though you expressed disapproval at what he said, your facial muscles tugged into a smile.

"Whatchu want?"

One link to a McDonalds meal later, you're patiently waiting in a now dimly lit room, phone in hand and still in bed. You decide to watch a show while waiting.

You're midway through your show, engrossed in a particular fight scene when you hear your window open with a click. Your fight or flight senses kick in, and you jump out of your bed and grab your phone and lamp (it's the nearest weapon, so...).

You watch as a dark figure comes out of the window in fear, you are ready to swing your lamp and dial your nearest police station when the figure raises both their hands in the air, to signify peace...?

The person pulls up their mask to show their face, one that you'd instantly recognize anywhere.

"Miles!"

You drop everything and sprint to his arms— literally nothing, not even a meteor, could stop you at that moment from wrapping yourself around his lean figure. Miles places his hands on your back, and the two of you relish in each other's presence.

You wish the two of you could stay like that forever, but the enticing smell of a chicken burger and drink eventually draw your attention towards it and you pull away from him.

"Can we talk about how the hell you got to my window with me living in the 21st floor? I seriously thought that the moment you clicked open the window was going to be my last for a few seconds."

Miles smiles and slightly bites his lips, and God forbid the kinds of things you would do for this man.

"Maybe over a chicken burger?"

When Wilbur glanced at the clock in his office, his eyes widened and cursed himself for getting carried away. Though, how can he not when it's you, talking and joking around with him like the two of you had been long friends. It had been a couple of weeks since you reached out to Wilbur—he remembered slightly panicking over seeing your notification—and ever since the two of you would make time to talk despite the time difference. He can't deny that it was kind of awkward at first with both of you being nervous and all but only a couple of days passed when the conversation finally started to flow smoothly like a river. Just a couple of days ago, he taught you how to use discord.

Today was no different than any other day. The two of you were talking again, the topic resides on his band and the tour that was about to commence, when he realized that he was supposed to stream in about five minutes and he had yet to prepare everything. Since Wilbur finally have some spare time on his plate and all the news outlets that tried to get the scoops from him have back down due to the rumor being replaced and forgotten by some other celebrity gossip, he thought it would be a good time to stream and let his fans know what he had been up to.

Wilbur smiled at your reply, staring at it for a few seconds before finally putting down his phone and turning on his computer.

You had an idea. Something that you had wanted to do but never really had the opportunity until now. You wanted to watch Wilbur livestream. Sure, you've seen some clips on YouTube before but you felt it wasn't quite the same experience with seeing it live. You wanted to see him in his element. But, if you're being honest you just wanted to see him smile and hear his laugh. You were glad Sam wasn't there because then he would call you a simp and that you're whipped for Wilbur.

With a made up mind, you got up from bed—still clad in pajamas—brushed your teeth and washed your face, took a trip to the kitchen for a quick breakfast and coffee before heading to your office that was filled many memorabilia from film set and a growing amount of awards. You put down the plate and mug on the desk, making sure there was distance between your computer and the hot drink. After a press of a button the screen changed from black to a picture of a beautiful scenery that you took on a vacation in Italy. You opened the browser and typed in the link to his Twitch channel. When you clicked on the stream he was already in the midst of a conversation with his chat.

He was sat in an office chair, something similar to the ones in your childhood home. A green screen displaying a green meadow in the background with a little glimpse of a white wall due to the screen being folded on the top right corner. You watched the chat pouring in, some responding to what he was saying while others asked what did they miss. You tried to read some of them but that prove to be a hard task since it all passed by so quickly, replaced by yet another messages.

For awhile you just watched him, smiling when he did something cute, laughing when he did or said something funny. It felt like you had somebody accompanying you instead of being alone eating toast in your office. It was a very enjoyable experience until your name was mentioned.

"No, chat, I am not dating y/n l/n," Wilbur expressed, after reading his chat.

You slightly cringed at the topic of you being brought up. This always happens whenever you're being associated with someone. All people ever wanted to talk to them about was you. You were aware that most of it wasn't ill–intentioned but you couldn't deny it had ruined a couple of past relationships for you, be it platonically or romantically. You couldn't exactly blame them for it. The constant questions about you instead of themselves or their work grew tiring and unbearable for them. So, naturally, you felt bad about the unknown person bringing you up especially since this was Wilbur's first stream in awhile and you were certain he wanted to talk more about his band.

"Those rumors were made by a bunch of fucking idiots who would trampled over someone else's fucking boundaries to get clicks for their so called news." He voiced out, with an edge to his voice . "Do not believe every rumors or gossip spreading around, chat, unless the person involved confirmed it themselves."

Your intention in watching Wilbur's stream was to merely observed him interacting with his fans. You didn't want to appear and have people make a big scene out of it, especially now that the dating rumor have died down. But, that intention went out the window when he started shit-talking the media and indirectly defended you. Therefore, you decided to typed in something in his chat to express your agreement with him.

For awhile, you thought you got away with it. Everyone doesn't seemed to notice your little comment, but of course there were always that one eagle-eyed person who noticed every single possible thing.

When someone in his chat mentioned you, Wilbur had to admit he was kinda nervous on how to approach the topic. Of course, he likes you. There's no doubt about it, but he had to thread carefully for your and his sake. He didn't want to add fuel to the fire, even if the fire was shrinking. Although, at the same time, he didn't want to ruin any chances with you—if there was one in the beginning—by sounding too rude or dismissive. So, he tried to sound as neutral as possible and hoped for the best.

"But, since we're on the topic, chat, I wanted to say that y/n actually reached out to me when that dating rumor thing started getting more attention, cause like I've said before, a bunch people wanted to interview me and shit, and they felt bad about the whole thing and apologized for it and stuff." Wilbur revealed, slightly spinning in his chair. "But, they shouldn't have to because obviously it's not their fault and all, but I think it's very kind of them to make that effort.”

Wilbur leaned closer to his monior, trying to read what his chat was talking about. Some of them were gushing over the interaction he told, whilst the rest were getting excited about some thing. The chat was moving fast than per usual and he was beginning to have a hard time reading one.

"Okay, what are you all talking about? Did someone raid me and I didn't notice?"

GOD yes. tennis is soooooo expensive, it takes approx 1 billion dollars to pay for lessons, court time, coaching, travel, accommodation, gear, etc etc. :// You get paid if you win. let me say that again: you get paid if you WIN. there aren't salaries! early in your career, you are HEMORRHAGING money, esp if you have a coach. the travel is fricken expensive all by itself!! and if you're paying a coach as well you're either in debt or you're playing with house money if you catch my drift. (tennis players often come from wealth, much like f1 drivers — they can also be sponsored, sometimes by their country, but usually only if & while they're successful!!)

if you do well, you start to win, maybe you make money, more likely you're breaking even for a while (or even still losing). if you do REALLY well, then you're looking at more prize money and maybe sponsors, so then you can start making some real money out of this. but yeah it's CRAaaaaaazy how much money tennis players pay to play tennis lol!! it is 10000% a problem for getting underprivileged kids into tennis, there's a reason tennis is so white!

Actually rewriting drafts. A lot of the time, I don't typically rewrite drafts, but for some of the Ghosts ficxs, I've actually got multiple different versions of fics LOL

Uhh I'd say I've definitely developed a stylised way of writing? Which, is actually pretty much just the way I write normally AHA - a lot pauses in strange places, and of course the angsty internal monologuing. I also like messing with structure when I can (Unfortunate House of Leaves simp over here)

Catching when my tenses slip. I don't know why, it might be due to roleplaying, but I find that I often flip between past and present tense in the middle of writing (where it wouldn't make sense to) But I've been able to catch it, lately. Makes editing fics a bitch LOL

top 2 writing resolutions:

Just posting more honestly. Last fandom I wrote fics for got a grand total of three fics because I didn't get to finish the others LOL, and then I kind of drifted off to other things (it's still some of my best angst work, so hopefully I can bring that energy to the Ghosts. The character I fixated on actually might have some similarities to Logan ssooo 👁 👁)

Maybe trying to branch out more? My two modes of writing are Hurt/No Comfort (hilarious, because I hate reading Hurt/No Comfort) and Whump so maybe I can try smth else? Maybe romance? Definitely not something I'm familiar with writing, but it feels like something I could try. (The real issue is finding ships I wanna write about /hj)

They told a thousand stories; all indecipherable, written in a language that no one could speak of, but could understand all the same. The mind's exact tales of suffering were locked away, hidden, but their effect still seemed to shine from the soul's very own fractured looking glass. A hint of resignation acted as dust upon the reflection's surface; a house haunted by time more than any other phantom.

and then this giant excerpt from a WIP abt Hesh :)

Occasionally, a glimpse will come to Hesh’s mind. Sometimes it’s intrusive, lightning flashing against a canopy of dark clouds, shaking the foundations of his mind with a deafening roar. Sudden, brief and violent in nature. Other times it’s… slow. Easy and gentle, like ocean waves crawling their way up the beach; soft, hushed. Almost comforting, if not for the deep grief that the tide often brought with it, the wind brushing by carrying the faint echoes of laughter and excited voices.

On days like this, the wind only seems to carry his own distant screams. The tide now feels lonelier than it ever did. That one set of footprints trailing in the sand was just that; a single set. The second set of imprints settled in his own stride now gone. 

Instead, the ghost of his shadow is embedded yards away, a trench dug out by desperately grasping hands, reaching for anything. Reaching for him.  

It’s still the gentle ease of a memory washing over him, sea foam gathering, swaying and receding slowly, but that’s perhaps what makes it worse. The slowness. The time he has to sit there and dismantle himself from the inside out, while his own head taunts him with things he no longer has, can no longer reach out for. Even the ebb and flow of water can wear down cliffs with enough time, steady and persistent in its movements.

i love talking about food lol - i'm a vegetarian but i went to cooking school so i have decent knowledge about food in general i'd say my fav food ever tho is french fries 😂 they're simple but never fail to make grin from ear to ear when i get to eat some

ok so i've been to a few places in europe but my fav so far is either innsbruck or prague - both of those cities have beautiful architecture and i loved learning about their history as well :D

oh god you're rly gonna make me choose? 😅 hmm the most art i consume in general is music and there's very few genres i don't like so it's rly hard to give a short answer lol the first artist that comes to mind rn is kordhell (spotify link) there's not a single song they made that i dislike i get that this style can be repetitive for some but i really enjoy listening to it a lot^^

fan fiction huh? 😏 as much as i love fluff i'm a sucker for hurt/comfort and angst with a (at least somewhat) happy ending i enjoy all kinds of fics as long as there're none of my triggers involved ofc (sadly i still find some bc not everyone tags the things that trigger me since they're quite "normal" so i get a not so welcome surprise every now and then lol) some of my fav things to read are royal!au, soulmate!au, arranged marriage and slow burns 🥰

my favorite time of the year would be anything other than summer 😂 i rly don't handle heat well and sunlight gives me a headache all year round and in summer there's just so much more of it lmao (i'm a complete night owl btw)

jfalksfjklasf aot yes - ok a bit of context i started watching aot but quit after the first season bc i didn't rly find it all that interesting 😅 i predicted most plot twists or had a vague idea of what was gonna happen but i rly liked sasha and armin (i was aware that levi has a huge fanbase and i rly didn't understand why lol) then a few months later i thought i'd give it another try and holy did the levi fan train hit me hard - idk how i was able to ignore this precious bean the first time around i also grew to love hange a lot and i'm gay as hell for pieck but at the end of the day levi is my favorite - he's nr 1 on my simp list and he always will be ❤️
