what abt shy!reader sleeping over at rafes for the first time?? 😊😊
Tumblr media
you'd been so nervous, slathering way too much frosting onto chocolate cupcakes while rafe told you the agenda he'd planned for tonight's date. in between mentions of dinner at this restaurant he liked on the water and stopping to get some ice cream before the outdoor movie, he'd thrown in a sentence that made your heart thud in your chest.
"unless you wanna come watch a movie here. we can eat all this crap you jus' made." you look up, butter knife almost slipping out of your hand.
"watch a movie.. here?"
"yeah. couch's comfy. got enough dessert to get a cavity. you can sleep over. how's that sound?"
it sounded terrifying. this was a milestone, one you needed several days and a new set of pajamas to prepare for. rafe looks down at your worried eyes, knitted eyebrows. you set down the cupcake before you drop it.
"sleep over?" you repeat it softly.
"snap out of it, kid. you don't have to." though the words feel like they should be mean, they're not. spoken with a sweetness you often found yourself wondering came naturally to your boyfriend, or if you brought it out in him. you hope for both.
"no, i want to," you correct quickly, blinking fast. "um, can you bring me home to get my stuff?"
"yeah. before dinner."
you turn back to your cupcakes with a smile, one that he stares at while you finish up. true to his word, he brings you home—you drop off a few sweets for your parents, give your kitten a treat while you pack a quick bag and grab your toothbrush. you don't change for dinner, keeping the pretty dress on until he gets you back into his bedroom later that night.
you've brought clothes to sleep in, but you hover in front of rafe's dresser still, working up the nerve to ask for one of his shirts to wear to bed. you can't seem to find it, deciding just to wear your pajamas, no matter how silly they are, when rafe opens the drawer and pulls out two shirts. he hands you one.
"get changed. m'gonna go change in the bathroom. be right back." you think you'd marry the boy if he asked right now—he seems to know your every thought before you can even finish thinking it, or figure out how to articulate it.
when rafe comes back you're a vision in one of his old frat shirts, playing with your hair while you sit on the foot of his bed.
"ready to sleep?" he asks, and you look up from your knees, smiling at him the way he wish you wouldn't sometimes, the way that makes his chest hurt with the amount of love pouring through your pretty eyes.
"what about dessert?" you ask with a laugh, smiling bigger when he rolls his eyes.
"haven't you had enough? how do you still have teeth?"
"i floss."
"shut up. get in bed." you crawl under his covers, inhaling the way everything smells like him. you lay your head down on one of his pillows, staring when he gets in next to you. "you okay?"
you love that he asks, that he cares enough to make sure.
"yeah. i'm okay."
"good. get some sleep." he doesn't say anything, but he still brings you in close to his chest, head on top of his heart, an arm around you, legs tangled together. when he thinks you're asleep, you hear the quiet sound.
"night, kid."

Imagine Dean Winchester x You
Tumblr media
You get sick and want snacks.
You found yourself confined to your bed, wrapped in layers of blankets, battling a persistent cold that left you feeling weak and miserable. Dean had to leave for a short period to check on a lead for the current case, leaving you alone.
As you lay there, surrounded by tissues and with a thermometer by your side, you felt a sudden craving for comfort food – the kind that might make you feel a little better despite the illness. You reached for your phone and dialed Dean's number.
After a few rings, Dean's voice came through the phone, "Hey, Y/N, what's up?"
His tone was warm, and you couldn't help but smile despite the congested nose. "Hey, Dean. How's the hunt going?"
Dean sighed. "Slow progress, but I'm on it. What's going on? Everything okay?"
You paused, feeling a bit guilty for interrupting his work. "Yeah, yeah, it's fine. I just... I'm feeling really under the weather, and I was wondering if you could do me a favor."
"Of course, anything for you. What do you need?" Dean replied, concern lacing his words.
"I was thinking maybe some snacks might lift my spirits a bit. Could you grab a few things on your way back?" You requested, your voice slightly hoarse.
"Snacks, huh? You got it. What are you in the mood for?" Dean asked, his tone lightening.
You chuckled, knowing Dean's penchant for junk food. "Surprise me. Maybe some chips, chocolate, and definitely a tub of ice cream. And, oh, grab some chicken soup if you can find any."
Dean laughed. "Got it, Y/N. I'll make a stop on my way back. Anything else?"
You thought for a moment. "Maybe a cheesy action movie? Something to distract me from feeling like a human tissue."
Dean grinned. "You got it, Y/N. I'll be back soon. Hang in there, alright?"
"Thanks, Dean. You're the best," you said, feeling grateful for his understanding and willingness to cater to your whims, even from a distance.
As the day progressed, you drifted in and out of sleep, checking your phone every now and then for any updates from Dean. Finally, the familiar rumble of the Impala pulled into the driveway, and you mustered the energy to get out of bed and greet him at the door.
Dean walked in with a small bag of snacks and a DVD in hand. "Hey, sicko. I come bearing gifts."
You grinned weakly. "You're my hero, Dean."
He handed you the bag, and yoh eagerly peeked inside to find an assortment of goodies, including the requested ice cream. "You nailed it, Dean. Thank you."
Dean plopped down on the edge of the bed, looking at you with a mixture of concern and affection. "How are you feeling, Y/N?"
You sighed, leaning back against the pillows. "Like a mess, but your snacks and a good movie might just be the cure."
Dean chuckled, putting the DVD into the player. "Well, you're in for a treat. I picked an action-packed classic."
You spent the afternoon together, with you nestled under the covers, surrounded by snacks and the glow of the TV. Dean, ever attentive, periodically checked on you, making sure you had everything you needed.
As the movie played, you couldn't help but feel grateful for Dean's presence and the effort he had put into making you feel a little better. The snacks, the movie, and the shared moments made you forget about the stuffy nose and sore throat, at least for a little while.

my yandere!leon headcanons so far MDNI
Tumblr media
hello! these are just a few headcanons i had about leon as a yandere and a person in general. there is nsfw below the cut, so MINORS AND AGELESS BIOS FUCK OFF ‼ also feel free to send me your thoughts on yandere!leon and your personal headcanons if you have any!!
xx
sfw
⟢ he's self-aware that what he's done to you is horrible. he knows you have every right to hate him, but that doesn't stop him from wishing you would love him back. he never meant to hurt or deceive you, but he's lost and given too much. leon wants someone to come home to, share a meal with, and feel needed and wanted. to receive a sliver of what he's given out. so forgive him if he's being selfish when it comes to you, but he deserves happiness too. so why not help him play house?
⟢ smells of bergamot and lavender. it’s nice and relaxing, but also musky and woodsy. he read somewhere that lavender calms the nerves, so he just absolutely lathers himself in the scent. Sometimes you swear he smells like sleep personified. unfortunately, he’s still a man, so he uses old spice lavender body wash. for cologne, he uses sauvage by dior.
⟢ normalcy is hard. how can anyone go back into society as if the amount of  horrors you’ve seen, aren’t there? like you’re fine and everything is fine? so, leon has found a pretty good remedy, company. each friday, a sit down dinner with claire, chris, and jill. pizza, wings, and beer every sunday with chris watching whatever football game is on. sometimes they may not know the current standings of teams, but it’s fun to pretend that they do. yet friends can only fill the void so much, maybe with you, the world won’t feel so lonely.
⟢ he has a major sweet tooth! likes his coffee with cream and sugar, won’t drink his coffee black unless he really needs it. leon will always have room for dessert lmao. has tried to bake, but he just doesn’t got it 💀something just always goes wrong. a big ice cream/frozen yogurt guy. once a month, leon will make a “everything under the kitchen sink” sundae. he’ll dump whatever pints of ice cream into a large bowl and top it off with whatever candy, syrup, and whip topping he has. leon is usually on a very strict diet, so why not splurge?
⟢ leon on his off time has taught himself how to smoke/grill meat. only knows how to make small side dishes to go with the meat that he’s made. mashed potatoes and grilled veggies are usually his two favorite go-to sides.
⟢ i'm a firm believer that leon's receiving love languages are quality time and words of affirmation with a hint of acts of service. leon works a lot, whether at the office or away on another mission, this poor, tired man is always working. so when he's home be prepared to be attached at the hip. leon also has a lot of self-doubt and guilt about what he's done to you, so by telling him how much you love and appreciate him, it feeds his growing delusion that what he's done is necessary. you need him just as much as he needs you. it also adds to the reassurance when you do small things for him to show your love and appreciation, whether it’s real or not. like cleaning and folding his laundry, making him a cup of coffee in the morning, back rubs after a long day, or even packing his lunch for the day.
i’m giggling at the thought of leon keeping all the small notes you add to his lunch, reading them when the day gets tough. or maybe he has one or two in a go-bag when he has to take small out-of-state trips for work.
⟢ building off the one before, he won't admit it but he's clingy. he prefers showers, but will choose a bath if it means he gets a small intimate moment with you in the morning. not in a sexual sense, more in a “let’s bask in each other’s presence”. never sits across from you at a table or booth, always next to you. same thing for the couch. there could be a thousand pillows on the bed, but he always chooses yours. leon will also never lets you sleep facing any windows/doors for security reasons. there is no such thing as personal space with this man.
⟢ since leon is a yandere his reciprocating love language is all of them. he wants you to stay with him, so he is willing to drown you in his love until it's the only thing you'll ever know. i'm going to break this down a little in sections.
⟡ leon isn't the best when it comes to choosing the words that relay how he feels. the words feel wrong and it leaves him awkward. so any sort of verbal praise from him is rare. the most you would get from him is a thumbs up and a "sure" or a pat on the back with a nod.
(😀👍🏻 <— leon fr) but, put a piece of paper infront of this man and all of a sudden he's writing words that’ll make shakespear blush. it's words so sickly sweet it gives you a toothache. leon really hates himself for not being able to verbal relay this to you, but maybe you can feel what he wants to say?
⟡ leon is just really good at showing you how he feels than telling you. I KNOW THIS MAN WOULD GIVE THE BEST HUGS BECAUSE HE SO DESPERATELY NEEDS ONE. just imagining leon giving you a bear hug, fully enveloping you, and he can't help but hold you a little closer. maybe even holds your head a little more to him. his eyes are closed, soaking up the loving moment, he might even do a little sigh of relief. because with you, he's safe. with you, he's loved. and he just wants you to feel the love he has for you through every action. to feel what he can't say. (SORRY I GOT OFF TRACK!!) leon also always has to be touching you in some way. his favorite places for kisses; nose, cheek, neck, or hand. every morning, when he's holding you close, he'll leave small repeated kisses on your neck until you wake up giggling. not really into lip kisses, but will sometimes start a lazy make out session. just loves holding you whenever he can and making sure you feel loved at all times.
⟡ leon will also do the most for you. having a hard time sleeping? he's awake with you, lightly scratching your back in small circles or holding you close while he's running his fingers through your hair. leon just can't sleep knowing that you're having a hard time sleeping. hungry but don't want to cook? he's in the kitchen cheffing it up. putting love in every plate that he makes you, even if it isn't restaurant quality. i feel like leon will also leave you small notes around the house in places that you would find, but it's little drawings instead of words. in the slow cooker, a picture of a flower. in between the dryer sheets, a bad stick figure drawing of what you think is of you and him. at some random page of the book you're reading, a simple heart.
⟡ leon loves spending time with you. it doesn't matter what it is, even if you're doing nothing. he wants to do nothing with you. his favorite thing to do with you is listen to you. whether you’re rambling about the latest tv drama he knows nothing about or it’s late at night and you’re reading whatever book you’ve picked up. he loves being in the kitchen when you’re cooking/baking. he’s your dedicated sous chef, so feel free to boss him around like your gordon ramsay. although, i’m so sorry for the amount of “my name is sue” jokes he’ll make. loves watching movies, putting together legos/ doing diy crafts, and playing mario kart.
I NOTICED THIS WAS GETTING LONG AND IDK IF I EXPLAINED THIS WELL BUT IM HOPING I DID. THIS WAS SOOOO SELF INDULGENT.
⟢ when it comes to pet names, leon will add a “my” to the start of it. he’s possessive and it shows in his actions. will often say: my girl, my sweetheart, my baby, my angel, etc.
nsfw (i’m not good at smut sorry)
⟢ the praise problem does not equate to what happens in the bedroom. i'm sorry, i just simply refuse. a complete 180, he's a talker. whether it's saying something so outlandishly lewd like he wants the whole world to hear or sickly sweet nothings in your ear, this dude will NOT stfu. (and it makes me giggle and kick my feet) I WILL PUT MY LIFE ON THE LINE AND SAY THAT THIS MAN IS ABSOLUTELY FERAL IN BED. he's always stressed. from his job, from the lack of self care, from the past that just never seems to leave him. he's on edge. he has healthy ways of releasing it, but sometimes the gym or extra training isn't enough.
⟢ which can lead to leon being a little mean in bed. he’s absolutely degrading the life out of you while also giving you whiplash with the praise that he gives you as well. leon is a lot more aggressive and at some point you’re just a fleshlight to him. spanking, choking, biting, spitting, you name it, it is on the table. also licking whatever drool comes out of his mouth makes him lose his mind fr.
⟢ i'm not good at writing smut, but i do have an idea of what i think leon's favorite sex positions would be. the first one would be mating press. it's extremely intimate and it allows him to be close to your face and neck than the regular missonary position. again, he really gets off knowing that he's the one getting you off. another postition would be cowgirl, it gives him full view of your chest and face, except you're not really riding him. again, he just using you as a fleshlight like giving you the perception that you’re in control. another would be you on your belly and him basically putting you in a headlock. IDK WHAT IT’S CALLED BUT IF YKYK. and leon just saying the most down right atrocious things in your ear would make me go crazy.
YOU’RE GONNA SIT THERE AND TELL ME YOU DON’T WANT HIS HUGE ARMS AROUND YOUR NECK, YOU’RE INSANE.
⟢ last but not least, ✨moaning✨. i like to think that he’s a grunter and whiner at the same time. idk if that makes any sense? he’s loud but not obscenely loud. but sometimes when he overstimulates himself, he’s a complete whiner like lovi (again if ykyk).

Traditional V
It's literally 8.2K words. I'm so sorry. I hope you like it anyway even if it's long.
Read the rest here: Traditional
“How do these things usually end?”
Forget dislike, he hated this. “I usually end it,” he told her. He liked being honest with her, but honesty about this might ruin him. He was glad she wasn’t looking at him. Just pressed to his side, he thought he might have exploded while answering that question if she wasn’t so closely snuggled up to him.
Harry practically begged his driver to teleport him with how fast he wanted him to drive. The thought of her alone in his home in pain made him almost delusional with anger. The car had hardly stopped when Harry threw the door open and punched in the code for his lock before entering.
We left her on the couch with her favorite show – E & L was the message he got from her phone. He really should have just gotten their numbers. It seemed like a safer idea. He appreciated them taking care of her. She didn’t seem like one that wanted or needed someone to take care of her all that much. This was proof as such. She was going to stay at work if it wasn’t for Eleanor asking. He was grateful Niall had the same idea as him to send her home.
He was more grateful to Louis and Eleanor for taking her here.
Harry had a large, comfy sectional in the main room. Again, the storm door hadn’t even shut yet and he was across the room knelt by her side on the chaise part of the sectional. There she was sleeping so peacefully, her show long forgotten, he didn’t even want to wake her up. But after extensive research on burn care once she left the office, he was worried she was getting dehydrated--so much so he thought he'd have to take her to the hospital. Especially after she drank her coffee and not water. He did note there was a glass of water on the end table beside her and once more he was grateful for her best friends.
Harry continued marveling at how pretty she was and, for another moment, forgot about how upset he was that she was injured. Her lips parted just slightly, cheeks a cute rosy pink, her hair a bit smushed against the pillow behind her. Her friends must have propped her up just a little so she could rest and watch the TV. He wondered how long she lasted because the TV was still playing, and he did manage to take note that The Good Place was her favorite show. The remote was just by her fingertips and he paused the show before turning back to her.
She had two blankets on her and looked a bit lumpy. He thought it was weird that with a burn she wanted more heat. Which of course led him to worry her body temperature was dropping rapidly like he had read on the multiple websites he studied from before arriving home. Carefully reaching out, he rested a hand on her abdomen noting it was cool and squishy to the touch.
Too squishy.
Peeling the top blanket back he found her covered in a second blanket and sandwiched in between were all the ice packs and his frozen vegetables from the freezer. He smirked and covered her back up. He really liked Louis and Eleanor.
Her face was so peaceful, not a wrinkle of distress from pain or her dream. He really didn’t want to wake her up, but he would go mad if he didn’t hear from her directly that she was still okay. Gently, he pressed a hand to her face and rubbed his thumb along her cheekbone. “Hey, kitten,” he murmured so softly. “Can y’wake up for a minute?” He didn’t want to touch anywhere really in worry he would hurt her aching skin. He slid his hand down to her neck and rested it on her shoulder and before he gave a tiny little shake. Mostly just pressure on her arm than a shake, really. At least that’s how he was justifying it to himself. She shifted ever so slightly, and her eyes fluttered open. She frowned so cutely Harry wanted nothing more than to kiss her so badly. “Hey love, do y’feel okay?” He asked shifting his hand back to her sweet face. Her eyebrows were pinched together as her eyes adjusted to the setting sunlight coming through the window.
“Harry?” She murmured.
“Yes, love, what d’you need?” He asked.
“M’sleepy,” she told him closing her eyes again quickly. Harry thought his heart was going to burst out of his chest, she sounded so cute.
He chuckled. “I know, love. M’sorry. Jus’ want t’make sure you’re okay.”
Her eyes opened again, it seemed like a better adjustment than the first time. “M’okay. Louis went through your cabinets looking for medicine,” she told him. “M’sorry. He doesn’t have any boundaries.”
“No, kitten, s’alright. I should ‘ve told him where it was.”
“Eleanor went through your kitchen and linen closet for veggie soup she turned me into,” she said sleepily.
He was so glad she could make jokes because he was still so upset but it was easier to talk to her with no one around. “S’okay, too, love,” he promised chuckling. “Can I take ‘em off now? They’re not too cold anymore.”
She nodded. “I’ll buy you new ones,” she closed her eyes again.
He rolled his eyes as he collected all the packs and bags of vegetables off her body. The short walk to his fridge and leaving her on the couch literally had his heart aching to be away from her. He was so far gone for the poor girl laying on his couch he doesn’t know how he got so lucky to happen across her profile. “When did y’take medicine last?” He asked looking at the bottle of pain killers that was left on the counter. She reached for her phone on the end table inhaling sharply at the movement.
“Right when I got here...probably five hours ago.”
“Okay,” he said. He still had an hour. He didn’t want to chase her pain. The thought of her being in pain made him sick. “Y’okay?”
“I want to sit up more...but...I need help,” she admitted.
“Sure, sure,” he hurried back to her side. “What d’you need?”
She threw the blankets off to the side and Harry gathered them up and tossed them onto the other end of the sectional. Reaching her hands out, Harry eagerly took one in each hand. Her hands were so warm. He waited for her next direction. “Harry,” she said gently.
“Yes, love?”
“There’s nothing you can do about it, it’s going to hurt a little bit no matter what. It’s okay. It’s not your fault.”
He frowned. “I don’t like that you’re trying t’comfort me when you’re injured.”
She giggled. “M’okay,” she promised. “Just pull me to standing and then I’ll readjust.”
“Okay,” he nodded. As he pulled her upright, she closed her eyes and inhaled sharply as her clothes and skin surely rubbed together. He pouted more at her pain and waited until the pain subsided a bit while she stood. “Y’alright, kitten?” He hummed.
She nodded. “Yeah,” but she didn’t really sound like she believed she was fine. Opening her eyes she glanced back at the corner of the couch calling her name. “Okay, um... I should... probably use the bathroom before I leave.”
Harry was full blown pouting. “Leave?” He asked.
“Well...yeah...I was going to call Louis and Eleanor.”
“I was going t’make y’dinner, kitten,” he said.
Again, she wasn’t one to believe in herself much when it came to relationships. Especially after her last one abruptly ended. Even more so with the somewhat interesting relationship she had with Harry. But she swore she could hear the tone of disappointment in Harry’s voice. “Er...I don’t want to overstay or put you out...I just thought—”
“Love, I want y’here so I can take care of you.”
Harry was a several inches taller than her, so she had to tilt her head up just a bit to make eye contact with the prettiest green eyes—that, without any exaggeration—in existence. Even pouting, he was still the most handsome person she had ever laid eyes on. He looked worried and she wanted to smooth out the wrinkle he had made between his eyebrows. How on earth could a man’s eyebrows be cute? How could Harry be this attractive? It did not seem fair to the rest of the male species. It was hardly fair to her being in the same room as him with so much effortless beauty. “Well...what about work tomorrow? I have to go home so I can shower and put on real clothes.”
“Tomorrow’s Saturday, love,” he reminded her.
She completely forgot. Sighing, she bit the inside of her lip. Truth be told, the idea of having to maneuver without anyone around when every movement felt like literal fire seemed stupid on her part. But she wasn’t sure she wanted Harry to see her naked and burned—especially when he hadn’t seen her naked when she wasn't injured. “Yeah, but I have to replace those files and I want to get Niall’s shoes replaced and his pants dry cleaned from all the coffee—”
He shook his head as she spoke. “Kitten, you’re not going t’work on a Saturday. I don’t even think I’ll let y’go in on Monday,” he said definitively. She was speechless.
“Harry,” she started.
“S’fine kitten. It’ll be like a little weekend getaway. I could use a day off,” he smirked wryly.
“You can’t take Monday off, it’ll be too suspicious. You’ve never taken a day off while I’ve been there.”
“Y’sound like Mum,” he rolled his eyes.
“Well it’s true.”
They were both quiet for a moment and Harry glanced at the hallway before turning back to her. They could quibble over Monday later. “The bathroom is down there,” he said. “Do y’need me t’help you at all?”
She snorted. “No thank you, I’d rather die.”
He chuckled. “Kitten, s’okay...I...I won’t say anything.”
She shook her head. “No,” she started to slowly move down to the hall. She just had to get her leggings off her thighs, and she could pee in peace.
“Jus’ shout if y’need me,” he said sitting on the couch and scrolling through his phone.
*
She was extremely unhappy that Harry was right. She probably couldn’t be alone. It took her nearly fifteen minutes just to pee. When she left the bathroom, Harry was in the kitchen, prepping some vegetables for dinner. He had a cookbook open on the counter. He also had enough time to change because he was now adorned in a black band t-shirt and a pair of shorts. It felt so domestic and homey she almost forgot she was in pain. Harry gave her a tentative smile. “At least stay for dinner, yeah?” He asked.
She nodded. “Okay, thank you.”
“Course, love.”
She went over to find her phone where she last left it and texted her message thread with Louis and Eleanor.
El, are you around this weekend?
Sorry, love. We’re heading to my mum’s this weekend. If it wasn’t for a birthday party, I would be right over to help you! Why don’t you stay with Harry...? :)
No worries, it’s no big deal!
I’ll ask him.
Ask him to fuck you too.
Thank you, Louis.
She groaned audibly.
“Y’okay, kitten? Are you in pain? Y’should take some more medicine,” Harry was too nice.
“M’fine,” she said. “Umm...I need to go home to get some clothes...if it’s okay, I think I will stay the weekend...if you don’t mind.”
Harry continued chopping the variety of veggies he had on the cutting board, and he didn’t want to overwhelm her, but he thought he might be smiling like a crazy person thinking about how he was going to spend the whole weekend with the pretty girl he liked so much. “Sure, kitten. Whatever y’need.”
She blew out a breath and she tossed her phone on the couch. “I know you’re busy with the food, could you help me sit again?” She asked rubbing a hand over her face in embarrassment.
Harry frowned more and wiped his hands on a kitchen towel before coming back to her. “How can I help, love?”
“I think we just reverse what we did for me to stand. Except I need to be sitting up more,” she said and held her hands out for Harry to take. Harry took them and she couldn’t help but notice that despite having literal second degree burns on her body, she thought the fire Harry started by holding her hands was hotter than the coffee that was spilled on her. Slowly, he lowered her to the soft cushions, and he apologized every time she winced in pain.
She sighed as she settled into place comfortably. Harry fluffed the pillows around her and lightly laid the blanket across her lap. He put the phone and remote in her hands and took her glass to refill. “M’sorry,” she muttered. She hadn’t really fully processed her injury. She was too shocked when it first happened, then embarrassed, and sleepy when she felt the comfort of his couch. Now that she was alone with Harry for the weekend, she was nervous. Harry brought her water glass back along with two pills for the pain. He didn’t want to hover, so he returned to the veggies.
“What are y’sorry for, beautiful?” He asked over his shoulder.
“For bothering you,” she mumbled quietly.
Harry frowned. “You’re no bother, love,” he promised. She didn’t say anything for a minute and Harry just went back to the veggies and then turned to the pantry to get the pasta he had for the dish. At that moment he heard her sniffle. He spun on his heel dropping the box of pasta on the floor. The box broke open and scattered all over the hardwood. He didn’t care. “Kitten?” He asked nervously and rushed to her side. He sat next to her and was heartbroken by the tears in her eyes. “Does it hurt too much? Do y’want t’go to the hospital t’get checked out?”
“No,” she sniffled. He reached out carefully and cupped her face.
“Angel, what’s wrong?” He was practically begging for the answer. Frowning, he took a deep breath. “I don’t want t’force you t’stay, love. If y’really don’t want to, I could take you t’your parents or another friend or something,” he suggested. “I jus’ wanna help you,” he promised.
The tears left her faster and she shook her head. The notion was worse. She didn’t want to think about how kind it was of Harry to have her stay. It wasn’t Louis and Eleanor’s fault or problem to take care of her and it wasn't their fault they couldn't take care of her. But she should have had more than two people who could help her.
But no one else but Harry could take care of her. “No, it’s...I’m fine,” she promised. “I...” she swallowed back the tears and Harry was so grateful he felt the smallest pressure of her leaning toward his hand.
“Hey, it’s okay,” he promised.
She hiccupped on a broken cry and turned from him. “I’m sorry. You’re so nice and helpful and this is...above and beyond what’s expected of you,” she didn’t look at him, but the only thing Harry could do was look at her.
“Love, I want t’take care of you,” he said quietly. “Please jus’—”
“When my brother died, my mom and dad started...” she shook her head and winced like it was fresh. Harry stopped speaking not fully understanding where this was headed, but here he was, holding his breath waiting for the rest of her speech. “They stopped taking care of me and... themselves. I left as soon as humanly possible. That’s why Louis is always around for me...he was so mad when he found out how they...” she trailed off unfortunately, so Harry had to use his imagination to imagine what happened. But he didn’t spend long on it because she was still sad, and still speaking. “I stopped having friends and that never really bothered me. No one really ever understood me like Louis and Eleanor anyway...but now...now I’m stuck bothering you and,” she let out shaky, gut-wrenching sob that felt like a literal tear in Harry’s heart. “I don’t even have parents that care about me,” she cried and covered her face.
Harry wanted to pull her into his lap and wrap her in a bubble and then a blanket and then himself. But he couldn’t because she was hurt and that hurt him. “Angel, m’sorry,” he hummed. He didn’t speak for a few more moments and just let her cry as she let out all her emotions. “I want t’take care of you. S’all I want,” he promised. He carefully turned her head toward him and he brushed the sad tears off her beautiful, perfect cheeks. “M’sorry, kitten,” he said and leaned forward to press a kiss to her forehead. She sniffled against him and then sighed softly stifling all the cries she had with just a kiss to her forehead by quite possibly the sweetest man she had ever met.
*
Harry video chatted with her while he went to her apartment to get her belongings. “In hindsight, we should ‘ve brought y’here,” he smirked.
She smiled at him as he entered the darkened place. “Had enough of me now that I cried all that much?”
“You must be the most tragically funny girl I know,” he rolled his eyes ignoring her commentary. He didn’t know how someone so beautiful and lovely could have such low self-esteem. She giggled cutely as she directed Harry to her belongings and tried to find him a suitcase.
“You were the one that wanted me here,” she reminded him.
He paused his search for clothing for her and gazed directly into the camera. “Yes, kitten. I love being around you,” he promised. “Didn’t think you would want me t’invite myself over...or rather thought you would think you’re a bother if y’did. Inviting y’over ensures you’re not bothering me,” he had a goofy grin on his face that made her frustrated because he was entirely right. It almost seemed like a trick for him to be so cute and make such a comment that was so accurate. She was quiet for a second. Harry mistook her silence for pain or being upset. And he hated that. “Y’okay, love?”
She nodded silently. “Um...I didn’t really think this through, but m’gonna need some underwear so just open the top drawer, grab a handful and don’t look. And then T-shirts are in the third drawer. I have leggings and sweatpants in the fourth drawer.”
He chuckled as he followed her directions, even not looking in the drawer as he pulled out way more underwear than she needed for her few days stay. He threw them in her suitcase and then grabbed the other things she asked him to grab. “Do y’need anything else, kitten?” He asked.
“Can y’grab a couple books for me?”
“Course, anything else?”
Her makeup was still with her because of Eleanor along with most of her other toiletries. “No that will do it.”
“Alright, then m’on m’way back after I get the books,” she heard the zipper of her suitcase close and she realized that in the span of three years of dating and living with someone that she loved, he never would be doing what Harry was doing for her. In fact, she couldn’t imagine any guy blindly reaching into her underwear drawer if she wasn’t sleeping with them. There was no way she could have someone rifle through her apartment looking for things to make her feel better. “D’you want your laptop, too?” He asked. It made her heart flutter, and she cleared her throat awkwardly overcome by the realization and emotion.
“Uh, yeah. Yes, please.”
She could not fall in love with Harry.
*
At some point between dinner and watching The Good Place from the beginning so Harry could experience the chaos and drama, she fell asleep on the couch. Harry wasn’t one to read books or watch TV the way she asked when they put her bookshelves together. For a while, he was engrossed in the sitcom that had clearly stolen her heart.
But a slight little snore pulled him from his TV stupor. Once more Harry watched how beautiful she looked just sleeping. This time her neck was bent forward at an awkward angle since she was sitting up facing the TV. He admired her for a moment (only a short moment because he really was worried about her neck) and how much he liked having her there on the couch.
He just wished with everything in him that her body wasn’t burned.
He pressed the pause button on her show. “Hey, love?” He said shaking her very slightly. Just like this evening. “Let’s get you t’bed.”
Her eyes fluttered open, and she rubbed the back of her hand sleepily against her eye. Harry thought she was deliriously cute. But her frown deepened. “It hurts,” she mumbled.
Harry frowned. “Oh, kitten. M’sorry. I’ll get y’some more medicine,” he said getting up from the couch. She shifted uncomfortably.
She forgot he was her boss. She forgot he was paying her to just be there and that she was supposed to be sleeping with him or at least kissing him. Right now, all she could think about was how uncomfortable her skin was. “Harry,” she whined.
“I know, baby, I know,” he cooed. “I’m so sorry,” he hurried back to her side and put the medicine in her hand and waited for her to place the pills between her lips so he could give the glass of water to her. She was still in pain.
“Can’t I just stay here?” She asked practically whimpering.
“We have t’change the bandage, love. And at that point y’may as well be in a bed. I’m sorry.”
She sighed heavily. “Okay,” she whispered.
“I’m sorry, beautiful,” he said grabbing hold of her hands waiting to pull her to a standing position. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes as she waited for Harry to pull her up. With a good tug, Harry had her standing. Before she lost her balance though, he wrapped his arm around her back careful not to touch any part of her facing him.
“Ow, ow, ow,” she cried.
This was a terrible idea. He should have just let her sleep on the couch. But by morning it would be even worse. “I’m sorry, love,” he repeated. He felt so horrible she was in pain. In the light of the TV and the dimmed kitchen light over the island, he saw the sparkle of tears forming in the corners of her eyes. It broke his heart. They slowly walked down the hall, her sniffles the only sound.
“Harry,” she whispered when they made it to the bedroom. She didn’t know if it was Harry’s. It was beautifully furnished, but it hardly looked like someone lived in there. Her suitcase was laid flat on the floor under the window.
“Yes, love?”
She sighed. “I’m so embarrassed but you’re going to have to help me,” she mumbled.
“’Course, love.”
“You’re so going to regret picking me once you see how gross it is.”
He chuckled dryly. “I don’t think you’re gross at all, love. Please stop making fun of yourself. You’re breaking my heart.” She kept quiet until she was seated toward the middle of the bed, a little more awake and in less pain now that the medicine was working through her system. Harry turned on the lamp on the nightstand. The room glowed in a warm yellow-orange light. She liked this house so much she hoped Harry would let her come back again after seeing her gross body.
“Yeah, but the first time you’re going to see me mostly naked is when I have these burns all over me.”
He shrugged. “Then we’ll pretend s’the first time when you’re better and I can see y’naked for the right reasons,” he said simply. If her skin wasn’t already burning and aching with coffee scalds, she would have probably lit on fire right there at the words he spoke. She realized it was her own doing that she said the first time he sees her naked. Indicating there would be multiple times that he would see her naked. “This is purely medical,” he told her crouching in front of her legs ready to take her leggings off.
She was a bit shocked Harry was willing to compartmentalize like that. It made her a bit woozy. She was lucky she had the burns to blame. Harry was slow and careful getting her pants over her thighs. Once past them, it was easy to pull them off. She tried not to think about how Harry was her boss. But she was really grateful she shaved her legs this morning. Even if she had no intention of Harry seeing her naked when the day started.
“M'gonna do your shirt now, love, okay?” He asked. “S’all business.”
“That can mean a lot of things with you,” she muttered as she put her arms over her head as he tugged the shirt off. He chuckled at her. Harry didn’t seem to pay any mind to her body. It made her nervous that he hated it. He was probably too kind to say anything now. Especially since he already volunteered to take care of her for the weekend. She envisioned a text on Monday evening saying that he would no longer be paying her and needed to find a new place to stay.
“Lay down,” he nudged gently grabbing the petroleum jelly and coming over to kneel beside her on the bed. “Y’okay, in there, love?” He asked gently tapping on her temple with a smirk. He started with her thighs—they would heal fastest, she was sure. The jelly was so cool compared to her hot skin and Harry was so gentle it felt nearly sinful. She sighed with relief before she tried to answer him. He moved along to her hips and she would have to remember to thank Eleanor for grabbing a basic pair of bikini underwear that covered everything.
“Uh...yeah.”
“Convincing.”
She sighed. “I...I’m assuming you hate my body,” she said glancing at him nervously. He snorted at her remark.
“I liked y’first answer more,” he rolled his eyes. “Why would y’think that?”
“Well,” she shrugged. “M’not really a huge fan,” she explained looking back up and avoiding his eyes. “I really don’t know why you picked me in the first place,” it was easy to talk to his ceiling fan. “I think I’m quite ordinary looking,” Harry carefully removed the bandage that Eleanor put in place and the air touching the most sensitive part of her injury stung. She saw Harry frown as he looked at it. It must have been worse looking than she thought. “And I know it’s confusing because I just said I was nervous and asked you to pretend, but—
“I don’t really know what scenario I would be taking y’clothes off that wasn’t for sex or a medical purpose, but I think your body is beautiful and if I didn’t have a purpose t’take care of y’right now, I would strongly consider not sleeping tonight jus’ t’ook at y’for eight hours while y’sleep. There’s nothing ordinary about you. You’re extremely sexy.” She was stunned and silent. She didn’t expect him to say that. Certainly, didn’t expect him to carry on as if he didn’t. But she hadn’t a clue what to say after his confession. “Burns and all,” he finished. Harry continued taking care of her quietly, while she couldn’t do anything but look at the ceiling fan. Now it really felt medical. She winced audibly when his fingers brushed over the blistering burns. “Sorry, love,” he murmured. “Alright, all done. I’ll be right back.”
She watched him leave and she laid there letting the ointment dry a bit. She heard the water in the kitchen turn on and he seemed to grab a few other things. He returned to put a water bottle and book on the side table. He had gauze and bandages as well.
“Thank you,” she whispered. She wiggled awkwardly toward the pillows trying not to get the oil of the jelly all over the sheets. Harry helped by pulling the bed spread and sheet under her butt as she slid toward the top of the bed.
“I still want t’fire him,” he said knowingly, fluffing the pillows around her as if this was a completely normal moment for the two of them.
She rolled her eyes. “It wasn’t his fault.”
He shrugged. “He hurt you,” he reminded her.
“It was an accident. I’m as much to blame.”
He shook his head. “M’not arguing with you.”
“Harry?” She asked quietly. Harry found the remote for the TV in the little drawer and sat it next to her book. He grabbed the gauze and bandage and got to work on the sensitive injuries. It felt so intimate. So personal. It was wildly awkward. She wished he would get in the bed on the other side. She bet if she asked, he would.
“Yes, kitten? Can I get y’something?” He murmured, focused on making sure he didn’t bandage too tight or snag any part of the burn with tape so that it would be a nightmare to get off in the morning. His concentration was adorable. She was definitely not falling in love with him.
“Thank you.”
Harry’s smile was so lovely she could have cried. It was so gentle. So beautiful. She wished she wasn’t so hurt right now because all she wanted to do was snuggle with him and maybe actually let him see her naked. Definitely not in love. He leaned over the bed and slid one hand along her cheek and tangled his fingers in her hair beside her ear. “Of course, love,” he said and pressed one of those perfect kisses he had been giving her to her forehead.
Well, he would have.
But she bravely tilted her head up at the last second so their lips touched. It was the briefest of seconds but enough to cause a tingle in her lips. It barely lingered long enough for her to even feel it before Harry yanked back nervously, almost losing his footing as he knocked the water bottle off the nightstand.
She pouted feeling like an idiot. “Oh,” she said looking away. “Sorry,” she muttered embarrassedly. Of course, he didn’t want to kiss her after caring for her gross body. It was a dumb idea, and she was hoping she could blame her actions on her injury and the need for sleep to recover.
He couldn’t believe how upset she sounded or how dejected she looked. As if Harry hadn’t spent hours awake at night imagining what it would be like to kiss her from the moment he met her.
Carefully aware of where she was situated, he sat beside her, careful not to touch or shift her aching body parts. “Kitten, y’surprised me,” he chuckled and placed both hands on either side of her neck and his thumbs gently brushed over her cheeks. He was so gentle with her it made her so weak. Swallowing the embarrassment of being rejected momentarily as it dissipated from the air, she glanced nervously into his eyes. He chuckled again. “If I knew y’were gonna kiss me, I wouldn’t have pulled away,” he promised seeing the worry in her eyes. His perfect face was so close she swore even though it was dimly lit, he never looked more handsome than he did at midnight, an inch from her face, ready to kiss her. “M’gonna try that again, yeah?”
She nodded eagerly, cheeks warming beneath his thumbs stroking her face. Harry leaned forward brushing his lips against hers so perfectly she thought that if she died because of his kiss, it would be the best and only way to go. His lips were so soft, it felt like kissing two little pillows. She felt woozy from how fast her heart was beating and all he did was apply the slightest pressure to her mouth. She moaned softly against him, and he smirked pressing another perfect kiss against her lips. He pecked at them a few more times, almost like he didn’t want to move to far from her mouth (he didn’t). Eventually, he pulled back just a bit so he could kiss the tip of her nose and then the one kiss he meant to place on her forehead.
She smiled slightly and thought about where she was just a mere three months ago. Her ex would never take care of her like this. Lord knew her parents wouldn’t either. But this man that happened to like her profile was perhaps the only person outside her family (Louis and El included in her familial statement) that had ever cared for her in this capacity.
“I’ll let y’sleep now, kitten,” he whispered. “Sleep well,” he pressed one more gentle, sweet kiss on her lips, picked up the water bottle he knocked over, and turned the light off before he left the room.
*
Saturday passed in a lazy blur. Harry was very mindful of her movements and despite his insistence, she didn’t let him stay in the bathroom while she showered. The blistered burns seemed to take well to the jelly and the more minor burns were red in color but the initial sting was gone, indicating they were well on their way to healing. “I can probably get out of your hair tonight. That way you can have your home back when you go to work tomorrow,” she said eating the omelet and home fries Harry made her. “Do you like cooking?” She asked casually. “You’re very good at it.”
He frowned. He really enjoyed having her around. Especially now that they had moved onto the kissing phase of their relationship. He really enjoyed that. “What makes y’think I want y’out of my hair.”
She sipped her chocolate milk that she insisted on making. Chocolate milk is a breakfast staple. She had insisted when she stirred a glass for him as well. “Well...I took up all your free time this weekend,” she shrugged. “On top of that you waited on me hand and foot and I was really needy.”
Other than the first night when she was in so much pain, she had hardly been needy. Harry loved having her around. It was like playing house with her. The need to have her there all the time was so strong. He woke up to her in his dining area looking at her laptop playing music from her phone. He thought he might pass out from how perfect it felt to see her there, so at ease.
“Y’weren’t needy,” he mumbled biting into his own omelet. “I like having y’here.”
She smiled sweetly. After kissing it seemed she was little more at ease with his compliments. “Harry,” she said gently. It almost sounded like the way someone says we need to talk. But it was just his name. It pulled bitterly at his heartstrings.
“Yeah, love?”
“I know I’m new at this...but you’re not. Do you usually have...companions here for extended stays without...” she trailed off looking down at her plate. “Without having sex?” She asked quietly before she looked back at Harry with blushed cheeks.
For the last forty-eight hours, Harry nearly forgot he was paying her money to spoil her and have her in his life. He forgot the arrangement they financially agreed to. And he forgot that it was quite different than all the other ones. Part of him was grateful he forgot because that meant she was asking as his companion. He was misinterpreting her reasoning, it wasn’t because she wanted to leave as just a girl. In all the picture-perfect weekend moments (injury aside) she was just a girl in his house, and he wanted her to stay, and she wasn’t getting on his nerves for that. “Oh,” he shook his head clearing all his thoughts trying to remember where he wanted this conversation to go. “Uh...no,” he shook his head in response to her. “No I didn’t,” he admitted.
She smirked wryly. “I don’t want to overstep,” she said softly. “I appreciate you taking care of me, but...it’s not fair for me to...take your money when all we’ve done is kissed a few times and you’ve done all this caretaking.”
He felt like his heart might break. He seriously considered just...not paying her anymore and asking her to move in like some sort of love-sap psychopath. “I don’t mind, love...you’re...different.”
“All the more reason I shouldn’t stay,” she said softly. “I...can’t be caught sleeping at my boss’s boss’s house,” she wrinkled her nose cutely. It was hard to be sad or mad when she looked so goddamn adorable. He hated that the reason she thought she was different was simply because he worked at his company.
He wanted her to know it was because she was the most beautiful person he had met.
“M’not even gonna be home tomorrow...y’would have the whole place t’yourself,” he bargained.
She bit the inside of her lip and tilted her head at him. He sat across from her, and it was so domestic. Like they were playing house. It broke her heart a bit that she had to leave. She kind of wanted to stay. Especially after all the kindness Harry showed her. Other than Louis, she was rarely treated so perfectly by a guy...and even with Louis it was all brotherly. She wished she just met him at work and not online. It put a whole damper on the whole...situation. “I just don’t want to overwhelm you.”
Harry was not against begging. He was about to start when he thought of a different angle. “Y’said you’d be friends with me if I wasn’t paying you, yeah?” He asked.
“Yes,” she said tentatively. It was literally like a business deal. Like the one they had when he first messaged her nearly two and a half months ago. She was hedging her bets and Harry was prepared to make any deal he had to, just to get what he wanted. All for her to stay one more measly day with him—especially when he wasn’t going to be home and he just wanted to come home and make dinner for her.
“Can’t y’stay as my friend?”
She smirked. “Do you have Niall stay for days at a time and make him breakfast, lunch, and dinner?”
Harry thought there was something in her perfume or pheromones that made him an idiot. That, or she was much smarter than he gave her credit for—and he knew she was brilliant. But that was an easy deflection, a simple counter to his request and he didn’t see it coming at all so he assumed it was the former and her pheromones were like some kind of drug that turned his brain into mush. “No,” he sighed.
“I don’t want to leave, Harry,” she told him. “I like kissing you and I’ve actually rather enjoyed the waiting on me part. I just feel bad because I can’t reciprocate anything with all these disgusting burns,” she was finished with her omelet, and she popped a fried potato into her mouth so casually. It really was a business deal.
Harry knew that. At the heart of all of this, it was a business deal. He was paying her to be in his life.
He regretted it. No if ands or buts about it. He was quiet for a while as he pondered her argument. He wasn’t sure he could continue bargaining with her. “Well...I want y’here. Can y’at least stay so I can make y’dinner one more time?” He asked. There was no use in arguing. She made more sense than he did and he would remember that when it came to hiring at the end of her internship.
But he was really looking forward to waking up to her still in his house when he left tomorrow and returning home to her in the evening.
“What kind of multi-millionaire doesn’t have a chef?” She asked, again, so casually. As if she hadn’t just severed Harry’s heart in two.
*
“Uh...love...do y’mind if I spend an hour or two in m’office tending to a few things?” He asked. “They’re pressing, apparently,” he said looking at his phone. They were back on the couch. She could get up and move now on her own and she was watching Harry’s reactions for all the funny parts in the show. It was a lot easier to talk to him now that they had kissed. Maybe it was because she felt like it was something in part to the relationship they had. She got a little too involved in watching her own favorite show because she hadn’t realized Harry wasn’t watching. She paused the show.
“You’re not seriously asking me if you can work in your own house, are you?”
He chuckled at her reaction. “I don’t want t’be rude, kitten.”
She shook her head. “I’ll be fine. Go ahead...let me know if you need help,” she smirked.
Harry had a hard time getting off the couch and leaving her. Especially when he knew he only had hours left with her now that she would be leaving tonight. She pulled the book she was reading off the side table and settled it into her lap. Again, he was overcome with how goddamn cute and perfect she looked in his home, reading in the main room while he was about to work.
He walked behind the couch and sneakily tilted her head back and kissed her in one motion before she had time to notice what was happening. When he pulled away, he smirked and gave her another gentle kiss before tilting her head back up. “Enjoy your book,” he said climbing the stairs to his office.
*
It was approaching three hours that he was still working on calls and other work when he was getting antsy that he hadn’t heard a peep from the pretty girl waiting for him downstairs. The idea that she left without saying goodbye was making him cranky.
God, she was going to take down his company if she got a new job at the end of this internship and left him for any extensive amount of time.
“Okay, I’ll deal with it tomorrow morning. First thing. Have a good night,” he said and hung up. He barely closed his laptop and rushed downstairs to find her gone. He hurried to her room (and the idea that it was her room was not lost on him), thinking she had gone to nap.
But the bed was made perfectly. He could have bounced a coin off it. Even her suitcase was missing. He frowned and felt like he might melt into a puddle of heartbreaking sadness. He wasn’t even angry at her; he was just annoyed that she didn’t say goodbye. Not even a text. Maybe some emergency came up and she just left, that would be understandable.
He made his way back to the main room not seeing any evidence of her. How someone who could hardly walk thirty-six hours ago left without a trace or a sound in a matter of three hours was nearly impressive. If he wasn’t so sad, he would have called her immediately and told her such.
Just as he was about to call her to ask why she left without saying goodbye, he saw the movement on the porch outside—she was waving to someone. Must have been one of his neighbors. As low and sad as his heart was seconds ago, it was just as equally happy. He left his phone on the table and headed to the door. He slid it out of the way and moved around to the front of the swing where she was reading cutely. Her finger paused her spot on the page and she looked up at Harry. “Hi, Harry,” she smiled.
Harry would never be mad at her for as long as he lived. He was certain.
“Hey love, aren’t y’chilly?” He asked.
She shook her head. “No, just a blanket and a book, I’m all good,” she grinned. “I wanted some fresh air."
"I thought you left."
She frowned. "Without saying goodbye?"
Harry was in love with her. So deeply. "I didn't see your suitcase."
"I put it in the bathroom for an easier time showering," she said simply.
"Oh."
"Do you want to sit? Or do you want to watch more TV?”
He wanted to sit and stare at her for the rest of the day. Maybe well into the week, too. “I don’t want t’interrupt..."
She shook her head, folding the corner of the page before closing her book. “Of course not,” she said softly and then she patted the seat beside her. Harry wasted no time sitting beside her. She lifted his arm around her shoulders and pressed herself firmly into his side. “I love it out here,” she smiled. “I’ve always wanted a porch swing,” she giggled. “I love your house,” she said again.
Harry thought it might be a bit ridiculous if he bought her a bunch of porch swings. The sentiment was there, though. He would have. “Thank you, kitten.”
“So...I know we don’t have the most...traditional of relationships as it were,” she started. Harry was really starting to dislike talking about their circumstances. He just wanted to hang out with her all the time and probably marry her and kiss her until he died. Was that too much to ask? “How...how do these usually end?”
“Oh good,” she said simply.
He snorted. Her responses were almost never what he thought they were going to be. “Why is that good?”
“Oh, I’ll never end this,” she smirked. “I’m all yours until you don’t want me. I don’t want to date another guy as long as I live.”
He loved the first part of her statement. The idea that she was all his was more exciting than he could describe—especially given that he was merely going to propose by the end of her internship which he assumed would likely mean the end of this companionship too. Probably by Christmas at this rate. He frowned at the latter part, however, because it may pose a problem for him later. “Kitten, y’can’t let some idiot ruin love for y’like that.”
She sighed. “I know...Eleanor said the same thing...I guess she has a friend that has a friend that would be perfect for me, so she says,” she rolled her eyes. “I told her to tell them I’m in a relationship.” The roller coaster of emotions this girl spoke into existence for Harry was going to give him a heart attack at the ripe old age of 29. “So, I was just wondering,” she said. “Sorry for saying it’s a relationship. I promise I know it’s not.”
She was apologizing for all the wrong reasons. “S’okay. Happy t’cover for you,” he murmured hoping he didn’t sound as disappointed as he felt.
“I know I don’t have a lot of power given you’re the one with all the money—but if...if you start sleeping with someone else, can you just let me know? I’m not sure I’m all that comfortable with it just because of...ya know...diseases and stuff. Not that I think you’d knowingly give me something! I don’t think you’re...oh Jesus,” she said putting a hand over her face. He chuckled. Listening to her talk and trying to piece together where she was headed with her reasoning and line of questioning was easily becoming one of his favorite things about her even if the questions weren’t always what he wanted to hear.
He was never right when he tried to guess, though. “Kitten, I am very cautious ‘bout that sort of thing. I wouldn’t do that t’anyone. Especially not you,” he promised.
“Okay,” she said and then tilted her head up to look at him. “Thank you for being so honest with me, you don’t have to be...so it means a lot,” she reached up and brushed her thumb over his cheek. Harry still thought he was going to have a heart attack because of her. But it might be for simply being the sweetest being he had ever met and nothing more.
He hated that she was going to leave after dinner. “Are y’sure you don’t want t’stay the night?”
“No...I figure if we’re going to have dinner tomorrow I should let you have some time to yourself before—”
“Dinner tomorrow?” He interrupted, feeling the somersault of his heart once more.
“Oh, sorry, do you have plans? I just assumed we always get dinner on Monday. I figured—”
“No, no,” he smiled knowing that even if she left tonight and he wouldn’t see her at work, he would still see her tomorrow. He had no idea that she had thought their...dates...were regular. He loved that. Hopefully he was hiding the fact that he faltered, overwhelmed with relief that she really wasn’t leaving because she was sick of Harry. “You’re right. I have t’make a reservation for somewhere...anything you’re in the mood for?”
She shook her head. “Now that I’ve had your cooking, I don’t know how I’ll be able to eat anything. You’ve effectively ruined breakfast outings for me. I think if this whole Styles Incorporated thing doesn’t work out, you should open a restaurant--maybe you can keep the same name. No one will know.”
He chuckled, rubbed his hand up and down her arm that was wrapped around her and he leaned down to kiss the top of her head. “I’ll keep that in mind, love.”

Chapter 13
You were sprawled about on Tatum’s spare bed she had in her room, whereas Sidney was tummy-first on her inflatable, seemingly lost in her own thoughts.
“God, I loved it.” Tatum giggled, pulling her blonde hair into a tight ponytail, whilst looking at you, her eyes filled with admiration. “I’ll send you a copy… BAM!” She punched a stuffed bunny that was next to her before picking it up, flinging it all over the place in excitement, “Bitch went down.” She laughed, “The insults had to be my favourite part, though.” She gleamed, tossing the stuffy elsewhere.
You rolled your eyes at her exaggeration, “Tatum, it wasn’t a movie, there shouldn’t be any favourite parts. I punched a person, let alone insulted her outside a police station…”. You sat up from the bed, sitting criss-crossed, propping your arm up on your thigh and resting your chin in the palm of your hand. “I could have been arrested!” You chortled, snorting in the process.
Tatum completely ignored that possibility, her exhilaration being her only muse.
“I’ll send you a copy—BAM! (Y/n), superbitch.” Tatum repeated and in her best you voice she said, “Now, if I were you, I would put that book on hold and shut the fuck up for once.” She placed her hand on her hip, contorting her face into that of someone who was extremely confident.
Your lips formed a thin line, shocked at how she managed to recall the event word-for-word. “I’m actually surprised you were able to remember all that, was it really that impressive?” You quirked a brow, tilting your head, ignoring the sudden pain in your hand.
“Uh, yeah.” She tsk-ed, “I’m certain you’ll be the talk of the school tomorrow.” She giggled. “You’re so cool.” She beamed, batting her lashes.
“I thought you might want some ice for that right hook.” Dewey suddenly appeared in the doorway, tossing you an ice pack.
You caught it with your sore hand, wincing slightly, regretting your instinct to catch it with your dominant one.
“Thanks, Dewey..” You warmly smiled up at him, placing the pack on your knuckles and instant relief was felt.
You laid back down, your head hitting the pillow.
“I’ll be right next door. Try to get some sleep, girls.”
“Yeah, yeah.” Tatum groaned, waving her hand at her older brother, motioning him to leave.
You turned on your side, looking at Sidney and a ping of guilt washed over you, yet again that night.
She was distraught, and she looked uncomfortable, most likely because of the argument you both shared with each other earlier at school, and how you gave her the cold shoulder at the Police Station, silently scolding her for the ridiculousness of believing that her own boyfriend would try to kill her.
You frowned, a wave of gloominess lingering in the air as you let the ice pack fall to the ground.
“Sidney?” You whisper, trying to get her attention.
She shuffles, not wanting to talk, but she soon groans, turning to face you.
“Yeah?” She questions.
“I’m sorry.” You pout, rubbing at your orbs. “I shouldn’t have said those things at school, and I shouldn’t have scolded you at the police station.” You mumbled, “You’re a person; you have feelings and those feelings are valid and they always will be.” You finished.
Sidney’s eyes grew, not sure how to process everything, but she soon smiled, and for once, she didn’t feel like you were the bad guy and that everything will be okay.
“It’s fine, (Y/n). Apology accepted…” She trailed, “Though, you were right, I had no business to go through your journal and call you names when my mother was something else…” She gulped, “I don’t know what got over me… and I am truly sorry.” She twiddles with her thumbs, looking at you with hopeful hues, as if she was begging for your forgiveness, and in ways, she was. Afterall, you did punch a woman for both her sake and yours.
Tatum cheered, glad that her two best friends made up. “Jeez, I’m thankful you both apologized to one another because I was starting to get bummed out in my own home.” She laughs. “On a more serious note…” Tatum changes the subject, her curiosity getting the better of her. “Do you really think Billy did it?”
Sidney’s smile soon faded, “He was there, Tatum..” Her voice trembled.
Tatum rolled her eyes, “He was destined to have a flaw, I knew he was too perfect.” She whined.
Knock… Knock…Knock…
Rapid knocking at Tatum’s bedroom door was heard and this caught everyone's attention.
Tatum looked at the door, seeing it open, revealing her mother, Mrs. Riley, “Telephone, honey.”
“Who is it?” The blonde asks.
“It’s for Sid…”
“Is it my dad?” Sidney popped up from off the floor, looking over yours and Tatum’s bed.
“I don’t think so.”
“Take a message?” You chirped in.
“No, um, I’ll get it.” Sidney looks at you and Tatum, indicating for the both of you to follow her.
“Gotcha..” You mouthed at her, grabbing ahold of Tatum’s hand, forcing her to get up and follow you towards Sidney and the three of you went out the door.
--
Sidney placed the phone up against her ear, her nerves screaming to be let out, “H-Hello?” She stutters.
“Hello, Sidney.” The killer spoke.
“NO, NO!” She yells, gripping the sides of her head.
You and Tatum rushed to her side, holding her, keeping her from freaking out anymore.
“Poor Billy-boyfriend.”
Sidney quickly placed the phone down, clicking the speaker button, so everyone could hear.
“An innocent guy doesn’t stand a chance with you.”
“Leave me alone!” She yells, starting to hyperventilate.
“DEWEY!” Mrs. Riley rushes off to get her son.
“Looks like you fingered the wrong guy…Again.”
“Who are you?”
“Hang up, Sid.” Tatum ushers her friend as you rubbed her arm, trying to support her.
“Don’t worry, Sidney. You’ll find out soon enough. I promise.” The killer gloats, taking a heavy-breath. “Oh, and (Y/n), Sweetheart, I hope you found the gift a real heart stopper~”

How (Not) to Lose Your Soul: Chapter 1
And today is the day, my Dear Readers! We are back with the sequel to How (Not) to Summon a Demon! While I'm extremely nervous to post as this chapter took a bit longer to write than I'd hope, I am also excited to post it and get this story rolling. So without further ado, here is chapter one of How (Not) to Lose Your Soul! Pairing: Alastor x fem!Reader Warnings: bit of profanity
Gold paints your skin with the morning sun as light dances with you in a field of grass. A cool breeze tickles your neck, your hair whirling around you as you spin, faster and faster. Giggles, bubbling like champagne, erupt from your chest as you're lowered backwards, one arm clasp around a slender neck while you throw the other above you, curving into the dip. Red eyes search for yours, smile stretching wide when they meet as a soft whisper brushes against your skin, "Ma Chérie."
Your smile matches his as he brings you upright, hands settling on his chest. Your heart swells when you see how he looks at you, love written clearly across his face. You tilt your head up, placing a tender kiss upon his cheek. "I love you," you breathe, giggling when he returns the kiss to your forehead.
"I -" He speaks, but you can't hear his words.
"What?" you ask, smile faltering. His brows pinch together and he speaks again, but you hear nothing. The air around you stills, growing cold. The sunlight no longer feeling warm on your skin  as clouds gather overhead. You feel a tug on your leg and scream when a hand starts to pull you down. You reach out for him but he's no longer there, an empty space where he once stood. You scream again, clawing at the grass as you're dragged beneath the ground. Your head is barely above as you gasp for air, coughing as dirt begins to fill your lungs. Your chest is on fire, you can't breathe, you can't breathe, you can't -
You bolt upright in a panic, heart pounding. Your hand flies up to  your throat, rubbing it. There's no dirt as you gasp and cough, sweat beading down your forehead. Tears begin to form as you take in the unfamiliar room. To your left, you hear Veronica groan, rolling over under the covers. A lamp clicks on, dim light spilling into the room.
"What happened?" She sounds worn out but concerned. You wipe at your cheeks, sniffling as you turn your back to her, swinging your legs over the side of the bed.
"N-Nothing, sorry," you croak, voice hoarse. Your hear the blankets move again as she stifles a yawn.
"Another nightmare?" You sniff again, nodding your head. Your hands grip the edge of the bed tightly as his face flashes before you, a bittersweet reminder of what you couldn't have. Veronica sighs behind you. "Wanna talk about it?"
"No." You stand up, walking to the mini fridge on the other side of the room. The water you grab is cold to the touch, soothing as you gulp it down, the bottle crinkling loudly. You spare a glance at a clock hanging on the wall. It's 3:48 in the morning meaning you've only gotten roughly three hours of sleep. Damn.
"We heading out now?" Veronica asks. You throw the empty bottle in the trash before walking to your bag in the corner, pulling out a clean sweater.
"May as well. Still got another two hours to go before we reach Savannah." You slip on a pair of jeans, searching next for your hiking boots. You debate whether to add a jacket, knowing the temperature for the day was going to be cold. The weatherman even warned about ice collecting on the roads, but you doubt it.
"Can't we get at least another hour of sleep? We've already been driving for ten hours yesterday," Veronica complains, falling back onto her pillows. "My butt still hurts!"
"You knew what you were getting in to," you remind her, packing the rest of what you don't need back into your bag. You were surprised at how little you actually needed when it came to hunting demons.
"I know, I know," Veronica states, "and I'm not going anywhere but, damn girlie, can't we slow down just a little? It's not like he's going anywhere any time soon." You frown, standing up straight.
"What?" You're glaring, you know you are, but her words cut through you like a hot knife, stirring up anger.
"Wait, you're taking it the wrong way," she corrects herself.
"Am I?"
"Yes!" She stands up with a huff. "You're acting as if you're on a deadline to find him when in reality, he's not going anywhere. He's an immortal soul in Hell for fuck's sake." Veronica is angry now, too, and for why you're not sure, but it's pissing you off more. What right does she have to be angry? It was you that lost everything, not her. You were the one who had your very love ripped away from you. You were the one here on Earth while he was stuck in Hell, no way of knowing if you were alive or not. For all he knew, you had died and gone to Heaven, never to be with him for all of eternity. No, you had to find him and tell him. You had to summon him back to Earth and tell him that you're alive and well, and that you love him. No matter what it took or how long, this was something you needed to do and Veronica was just going to have to deal with that.
"I might be on a deadline," you say, grabbing your backpack and slinging it onto your shoulder. You don't wait for her as you head to the hotel room door.
"What do you mean?" she asks, nearly tripping as she tries to get dress in a hurry to follow you.
"His book was stolen, taken. That means whatever is trying to stop me from summoning him will be trying to keep me from finding other ways to get to him." It made sense to you. Ever since your encounter with the angel, her words a solemn warning, you knew time was against you. Your jaw tightens as you remember what she had said, 'Let's see if you can find your filthy demon again.'
"Wait up," Veronica pants, closing the door behind her. You make your way down the steps of the building to the parking lot below. As you reach your car, you pop the trunk and toss your bag inside before slamming it close again. Veronica finally catches up. "Look, I'm sorry," she apologizes, "I didn't mean to sound -"
"Like a bitch?" you finish for her. She flinches and you sigh, turning to face her. "I'm sorry, too." Veronica pulls you into a tight hug.
"We'll find him, girlie, I know we will," she says. You clear your throat, not wanting to cry for what seemed like the hundredth time that week.
"I'm going to go return this key. Start the car for me, yeah?" You toss her the car keys and walk to the hotel front desk. There's no one here, the office empty as you look around. Shrugging, you drop the keys on to the desk. As you turn, a cold breath breathes down your spine. You whip around, ready to punch whoever is that close to you, but there's nothing.
"Hello?" you call out. You feel the same cold air tickle your neck again except now, a hand joins it, gripping your throat tightly. You raise your hands to claw at the hand but feel nothing. It's like the air itself is choking you, pressure causing your head to grow faint as you struggle to breathe.
"Turn back," a voice whispers into your ear. You feel your feet leave the floor, dangling as you're lifted up. "Go Home." Your eyes roll to the back of your head, vision going black. Just as you feel yourself slipping from consciousness, your dropped to the floor harshly, falling to your knees. You cough roughly, inhaling gulps of air to refill your lungs, chest burning.
"Are you ok?" You see an older woman come into view from behind the office desk, her blue eyes worried as she looks you over. You stand weakly, ignoring her and pushing open the door to step outside. Veronica stands by your car, messing with her phone before looking up at you. Her eyes widen as she moves to intercept you, her hands gently reaching for your neck.
"The fuck happened?" She looks past you to the office then back to you, her nostrils flaring angrily. You shake your head, stepping around her. "Was it them again? I swear, if I catch them doing it, I'm gonna -" she pauses, "- probably not be able to do anything, but I will give them an earful!"
"It's becoming more frequent," you mumble. You climb into your car, starting the engine. Pulling up your phone, you select a route to Savannah, Georgia. Veronica hops in next to you, buckling her seatbelt.
"Think we're getting close?" she asks. You shrug, placing your phone on the mount that sits on your dashboard.
"Don't know, but I like to think that's the case." You buckle up, putting the car in reverse. "Why else would they be actively trying to kill me?" The tires screech as you pull out onto the highway, headlights bright as you drive.
"I still can't believe it," Veronica shakes her head. tucking a leg beneath her. “Demons, angels, heaven, hell; I miss being ignorant to all of this.” You want to say you agree with her, that you want to return to a world where you still believed science over faith. You can’t, though. Alastor had opened you up to a brand new world and even if they skies were darker without him right now, you wouldn’t change a thing. “Are you sure it’s angels?” She tucks a leg beneath her, her arm propping on the door.
“Not really?” You take an exit that directs you towards the interstate the continue, “I’ve only met one but she made it pretty clear that all of heaven is against me.” You can’t forget what she said, her words replaying in your head. ‘Let's see if you can find your filthy demon again.’ Your grip on the steering wheel tightens, knuckles going white. If this was a challenge, then you were going to win and smugly rub it in her face.
Veronica shifts in her seat, grabbing the folded map sitting between you. It’s wrinkled and worn, red circles placed in different areas with notes scribbled next to them. She spreads it open, taking a look. “You said we’re heading to Savannah, right?” You nod your head in confirmation and she continues. “According to this, we’re gonna be looking for an old plantation house. Apparently the previous owners claim it to be haunted by a demon.” She shudders, putting the map back.
“Hopefully the rumors are true,” you say. You don’t want this to be just another dead end like the previous four places you’ve visited. Truth be told, they were all long shots, each destination hand picked from hours of online research. You looked for everything from ghost stories to possessions, marking down the ones that seemed particularly promising. The first four left you empty handed, the rumors being just that with not a single demon to be found. It hurt, thinking all of this would be for nothing, but you had to push on. You just had to, for him.
Ignoring the way your mind wandered, you placed your focus back on the road. Traffic was nonexistent as you drive, speeds exceeding local limits to make up for lost time. As you draw closer to the coastal city, the sky starts to lighten up. It’s nearly six in the morning when you make it, traffic building as people begin to head to work. You slow down, filtering in as you hand Veronica your phone.
“Put in that house address, will ya?” you ask. As she updates the route, you search for a gas station, nature calling. Spotting a exon, you quickly park at a pump and turn off the car. “Be right back.” You step out and walk swiftly to the small building, beelining for the bathroom. You excuse yourself as you bump into a rather tall man, disappearing into the restroom for a minute. When you come back out, the same man is a few feet away, occupying himself with a random bag of chips. Normally you wouldn’t pay no mind to a stranger, but the way he’s dressed has the hair on your neck standing up.
Wearing all black and darkened sunglasses, he looks straight out of an action film, like a bad guy waiting to ambush the protagonist. You keep an eye on him as you head to the coolers, grabbing two cokes for you and Veronica. You walk up to the register and set them down, waiting as the cashier rings them up.
“That’ll be $4.35.” You pull out your card and pay, taking the drinks and heading out the door. You quickly climb back into your car, handing Veronica hers. As you start your car, you see the man walk out, looking around before pausing when he sees you. Fuck.
“Hang on,” you mumble, giving Veronica no time to react as you put the car in gear and peel out of the station. As you merge into traffic, you check your rear view mirror to see if the man followed you, but he’s still standing in the parking lot. You relax a little and focus on the road.
“The hell? We being chased or something?” Veronica asks, turning in her seat to look out the back of the car. "Is it more angels?" She starts to panic, grabbing the handle above her on the car roof.
“I thought,” you shake your head. “Never mind.” You’re being paranoid, the events earlier at the hotel being to blame, you think. The guy could've been lost or waiting for someone. Maybe you should've listened to Veronica and stayed at the hotel a few hours more. No, you think to yourself, whether or not you're actually on a deadline, you didn't want to waste any more time. You heart aches with the need to see him again, to hold him, to hear his voice call your name.
You blink back the tears and continue driving, praying to the Universe for this lead to be the one.

You checked the time and noticed that it was 9:30. You’d already done your cleaning for the day, and dinner was sitting warm in the oven…for a while now. You groaned laying on the couch, in your nightgown, sipping your wine as you waited patiently for your husband Miguel to return home.
Waiting on him became more of a habit these days. Sometimes, you would wait until the early hours of the morning. You couldn’t sleep while he was out there, and after realizing this, Miguel vowed to come home every night at a decent time. But that still meant he left out pretty early in the morning.
The lock on the front door clicked and Miguel walked in, beaten and weary.
“Mi amor.” He said silently and placed a kiss on your cheek as he walked in, hardly wanting to embrace you.
You frowned at his battered appearance and stood from the couch, watching as he sat down. You pressed the button on his spider suit and watched as it dismantled, leaving him in his boxers. His arms and torso were tattered in fresh bruises and scratches. As much as Miguel attempted to keep his straight demeanor, they sure did ache.
“What happened?” You asked, sitting in front of him and opening the first aid kit.
“Got hit by a plane, train, a truck, then got kicked in the chest by a horse.”
You paused and looked at him in disbelief, “Miguel-”
“It didn't do any damage, I promise.” He reassured.
You began applying some ointment onto the bruises that formed on his torso.
“A new villain named Spot,” He started. “He’s basically a human dimension hopper.”
“Like you?” You smiled softly as you worked below.
“I mean….but he's straight…hole.”
You threw your head back and laughed, “I'll try to imagine that Miguel.”
He smiled until you touched one of his wounds harshly, causing him to hiss and squirm.
“Sorry! Sorry.” You panicked and went to put the ice pack on the spot.
“S’okay.” He said, leaning his head on the back of the couch and sighing.
You tended to his wounds for about half an hour before guiding him to the bed. He groaned loudly as he laid on the soft plush and you quickly adjusted his pillow for him. When he got comfortable you went and changed into your nightgown, then climbed in bed next to him.
“When are you gonna take off?” You asked softly.
“I can’t take off you know this.”
You sighed deeply. “You get hurt almost every night Miguel, eventually my sewing skills won't get you through the night.”
Miguel went silent for a few moments pondering. You were right, and he knew it.
“Fine.” He said. “Only a day.”
“The full 24 hours Miguel.”
He huffed before nodding. You laid next to him and threw your leg over his waist, he pulled you in by your lower back. The two of you laid in a comfortable silence.
“Lyla open the blinds.” Miguel said out loud. The blinds that shielded you two from the city skyline began to rise. You loved the view, and no matter how many times you saw it, you would never get tired of it. You watched the twinkling lights in the distance and leaned into Miguel. His hand caressed the back of your spine gently.
“Is this a new nightgown?”
“Yes.” You giggled. “It's fenty.”
“It's nice on you.”
You smiled and adjusted your leg, but paused feeling something stiff.”
“Miguel?”
“Yes mi amor?”
“Are you turned on right now?”
You looked and saw a smirk forming at his lips.
“You could've just said something.”
“I'm not dying for sex Y/n.” He scoffed. “It happens.”
The two of you made eye contact for a moment. You both knew he was being coy, and that in just a few moments he would say-
“But it would help to pull up your nightgown.” He laughed as you already climbed onto him, pulling down his boxers and hiking up your nightgown.
The two of you let out a shared groan as you sank down onto him.
“Fuck, Just like that.” Miguel grunted and threw his head back as you rode him. He allowed himself to let loose, forget about all his problems and focus on your tight cunt squeezing him into oblivion.
“Fuck Miguel!” You said breathlessly, beginning to weave your hips faster. One of his hands held your waist while the other gripped the plush of your ass tightly.
“Almost there.” Miguel grunted.
“Might be the longest you ever lasted.” You joked.
Miguel opened his eyes and quirked his eyebrow. Quickly, he threw you off of him and managed to pin you down under him.
“You think I don't last long?”
You giggled as he began pecking you all over the face, before leaning to your neck and suckling on that sweet spot. You let out a moan and threw your arms over his broad shoulders, rubbing his back.
He looped his arms under your knees and held your legs back. Slowly he sank into you, both of you letting out a shared moan at the feeling.
He placed a kiss on your temple once you let out a whine, feeling his tip hit the hilt of your cervix.
“I say I'll last longer than you in this position.”
“S’not fair miguel!” You whined out. You know once he got you on your back, locked down, it would take mere seconds to get you coming.
He began thrusting into you, slowly at first before finding a pace that had you pawing at his back and crying out. You tried your best to turn your attention away from the pleasure he was giving you but it was impossible. The cool air that hit your pelvis each time he pulled in, the warmth that returned when he slammed down into you. The way his damp hair hung over his forehead, and the way he scrunched up his eyebrows, grunting above you in bliss.
The pleasure was breaking you down, and you began to tremble under him.
“That’s it.” He cooed, feeling your walls squeeze around him.
You let out a loud yell before gushing all over his pelvis, whimpering and panting heavily.
“Good, Good.” He leaned down and placed kisses on your cheek and neck. Without pulling out of you, he crashed down,  panting into the crook of your neck.
“You were supposed to rest.” You said after catching your breath.
“I’ll be fine.”
You slapped the back of your hand on his chest and he let out a breath of discontent.
“That's what I thought.”

Fear and Anxiety
Summary: Eddie is annoyed when you get sick/hurt. Characters: Yandere! Aged Up! Eddie Kaspbrak x Reader Tw: Injured/Sick Reader, Care-Taker Eddie, Controlling Eddie
Tumblr media
"Richie- Slow down!"
It seemed he didn't hear you, because he pushed you down the hill in the worn out tire as you screamed for help. What neither of you expected was for you to run into a rock and for you to come flying out.
Richie gasps and quickly runs down the hill. "Shit. Shit. Shit! Eddie is going to kill me."
-----
"God, I don't feel so good," You cover your mouth, feeling your head spin. You bent down, covering your mouth, holding down the vomit. You looked down at the pale water as it spun in the toilet.
"I don't know what wrong with you two."
You groaned, not looking up at the man standing over you, holding your hair. "Oh, we were just having fun-"
"And look where you are now." He interrupts you and you look back at him, with blurred vision.
"It's no big-" You then puked into the toilet, before finally standing up, though you quickly catch yourself on the vanity.
Eddie flushes the toilet, grabbing you, and leading you to your room. He sits you down softly, before sitting on the edge of the bed. "So, are you going to tell me what happened?" He sounded like a dad scolding you.
You groaned heavier, turning away from him, "You're just going to scold me."
"Of course, I am! You're sick from smoking and eating to much," He then grabs your hand to show a nasty bruise, "And who knows how you got it."
You chuckle, "You should see my leg." For some reason, you must have been high or something, because you lifted up your pants to show Eddie a huge purplish-yellow bruise that was the sign of your hand. You should have just kept your big mouth shut, because Eddie lost his mind.
"What the hell happened to your leg!" He grabbed your ankle and pulled you closer to him, "God, does it hurt-" He facepalms, "Of course it hurts. I'm getting an ice pack," He then looks towards your pillows, before grabbing two besides you and putting the under your lower thigh. "I'll be right back."
You close your eyes, moaning to yourself. It was a blur what was going on and you weren't really aware of what was happening. Though, you did feel something cold touch your bruised area causing you to wince. He apologized, but put it back on, hoping to bring down the swelling.
"I told Richie to be careful with you. He always does this. You always end up hurt. What did the two of you even do?" He grabs some bandages from his bag, then takes off the ice bag, before wrapping up the bruise. Eddie could feel his blood boil as he thought about it. Richie is spontaneous and reckless and you're impressionable, making it easier for you both to do stupid things.
"It's fine. God, you should of been there-"
"Yeah, I would have stopped the two of you."
You roll your eyes, while shaking your head. "Boo! You're no fun, Eddie," You sit up, tilting your head, causing him to grab your cheeks and set you back down.
"You need to lay down, Y/n."
"No, I'm fine-"
You slumped down, almost hitting your head, but luckily Eddie caught you. "Oh, yeah you're so fine. But not the fine you're think of. You're not leaving this bed until you're healed."
"It's no big deal. It's just a few bruises-"
"And you were puking."
"From eating to much."
"Which wouldn't have happened if I was there."
"You're such a mother hen, Eddie. You're lucky I love you."
Now it was his turn to roll his eyes, "Yeah, I'm the lucky one." He sighs, "I wonder how you've lived this long without me."
"Ahh, I've been doing just fine."
"Sure, babe," He remarks, shaking his head. "Says the one with bruises to the guy that's perfectly bruise-less."
"Because you don't do anything fun," You joke as Eddie massages your leg. You leaned on your pillow, sighing. Your eyes begin to close as you slowly fade into sleep.
"I'd rather you be safe and bored than in danger and having fun."

hi!! first post! let me know if it's ooc or not, i'm trying. tysm for reading! tags below.
cw; fluff, angst, hurt/no comfort, follows the events of re1. boyfriend! wesker bc he's so sillypants and i love him lol. not proofread, written under the influence, whoops! somewhat clingy but mostly cold reserved bf wesker. jill and chris mentioned, valenfield implied.
petnames used; primrose, little dove.

boyfriend wesker!, who's not always the most affectionate but makes sure to always have a hand on you at all times, unless you're apart. he's always holding either your hand, your waist, or the back of your neck. his hands are slightly calloused, cold, and smooth from both his lines of work. you'd shudder upon initial comment, mutter something about his fingers being "cold as ice," and melt into his touch anyway.
boyfriend wesker!, who, when you're away, sends you updates on his day so you're not worried where he's gone. if he's reading a book, he'll send you a line that makes him think of you, be it a fact or something a character said. when he's working and you're at home, he's frequenting his Nokia 6150 in his office to see if you've messaged him. he's private about your relationship with all his coworkers, Umbrella or R.P.D.
boyfriend wesker! who hasn't told you about his job at Umbrella, and likely won't for your own safety. He can't risk getting his little dove involved, especially if you're not the science type. he only tells you things you'd want to hear about his position at the R.P.D.- stories of Chris being an astounding meathead and Jill's crush on him. he'd update you on developments because he knows you like that sort of thing, even if you say you don't. off-handedly, he'd mention Barry's family, and look at you with some odd kind of longing.
boyfriend wesker!, who is incredibly protective deep down, but refuses to act out or make either of you look foolish. if you're getting hit on, he'll intervene on your behalf and simply pull you aside. he knows it's not your fault. he could never be mad at you, his primrose.
boyfriend wesker!, who has a very big soft spot for you. while he's cold with anyone else, you are the only one he'll let some of his walls down for. he feels bad for lying to you about certain things, but he has good intentions- or so he thinks.
boyfriend wesker!, whose feelings are stronger than he thought they could be for someone. his heart yearns for you at all times, and though he doesn't say it often, he would kill for you. his own feelings scare him at times- when he wakes up in the middle of the night, you by his side snoring away, and wonders how he got here in the first place. it's those times he might pull away and try to close himself up again.
boyfriend wesker!, who pushes you away when he can't handle his feelings. he reprimands himself for not being in control of himself- that's all he really wants, control. he tries to keep himself at a good distance so you're content with him, so you trust him. he doesn't realize he's manipulating you, nor that he's hurting you. he doesn't think he can.
boyfriend wesker!, who, when you end up leaving him (as you should), doesn't bat an eye. although it does hurt, he knows better than to beg, god forbid cry, at your feet as an attempt to keep you for longer. he has never been that kind of man. instead, he wishes you well and helps you pack your things. of course he's curious as to why you're leaving and in due time, he'll make all your suspicions come to life. soon enough. he'll confirm your worst fears- that he's been hiding from you, lying to you, for your entire relationship.
ex-boyfriend wesker!, who, months after the breakup, isn't over you. still sleeps with a shirt you left behind used as a pillowcase for a pillow he hugs to get comfortable. he'll wake up in the morning at times and feel around for you, his heart sinking in his chest at the reality of your absence. when he gets ready and stares annoyedly at himself in the mirror while he brushes his teeth. imagines it's you slicking his hair back with a light-feeling gel instead of himself. if he thinks about it for too long, he can hear you making little comments about how long his hair has gotten or how soft it is. his lips press into a thinner line at that, and his jaw clenches.
ex-boyfriend wesker!, who carries out his plans to get rid of S.T.A.R.S. and wonders what you'd think of him now after he's tried to kill his employees (and almost succeeds. that damn Chris.) you wouldn't look at him the same, but the twisted and frankly delusional part of him hopes you'll tell him that it's okay. that you'll still kiss him how you used to, or touch his arm and reassure him that he didn't do anything wrong, that he's justified in his actions. although these delusions would only carry him so far, as he needs the real you- not just an apparition of you.

Outside The Office Part Twenty
Hey all!
Requests for val x reader situations are open! Feel free to shoot me a message or ask anything! Everyone's life is so very different, so it would be fascinating to stick Val and reader in different places. From the kinky to the mundane- I'm here for it!
Enjoy! Comments, feedback and critiques are always appreciated!
Sunlight streamed in from the window and slowly, I blinked myself awake. Somehow in our sleep, I ended up tucked against Valentino, my head against his chest. His heart beat steadily in my ear and for a few seconds, I contemplated staying snuggled against him and going back to sleep.
Slowly, I shifted myself and a jarring pain shot through my wrist.  The events of the previous night came flooding back as I awoke, the pain in my wrist a stark reminder of my fuck up. I tried to sit up, to wriggle out of Valentino’s grasp. Advil, ice pack. That’s what would help.
“Princessa?” He muttered sleepily. His arms wrapped around my waist and he tugged me back towards him. “Where are you going?’
“I’ll be right back Val,” I said softly.
His grip tightened and he opened his eyes. “Princessa, why the rush?” he asked sleepily, “we have time. I don’t need to be at the studio until at least ten. Come’mere.”
I didn’t want to tell him I hurt. Not after last night, not after him finally, finally showing me his vulnerable side. He brushed away a strand of hair and gave me a sleepy smile as he rolled onto his back, pulling me on top of him. I let out an involuntary gasp of pain as my chest bumped against him and my wrist hit the pillow. Fuck. I didn’t want him to see the pain he caused me, to lose access to that vulnerable side he showed me.
The sleepiness vanished from his face and he sat straight up. “Princessa, what hurts?”
I flinched and tucked my hands under the blankets as quickly as I could. “Nothing, Val I…”
“You’re a terrible liar, baby,” he cut me off. Carefully, he pulled back the blanket and stared at my wrists for a few moments. Gingerly, he took my hands in his as he looked in horror at what he had done to me.
The black and blue handprint stood out against the paleness of my skin. I watched his expression change from soft and sleepy to fearful as the realization of what he had done showed in the light of the morning. I wondered if the drugs he took the night before had clouded his judgment at his initial sight.
My stomach sank as I remembered the drugs, the alcohol, the fear that flooded me when I realized he was coping the same way I had watched numerous angelic soldiers fall to. The fear that he too would end up sick, dying, and the need to feel his heart, to feel the proof that despite his reassurance, that he was alive. Pain aside, I pushed my head back to his chest and listened for that sound.
“I didn’t realize…fuck. Stay here,” he said as he pushed himself away from me. “I’ll be right back.”
I shivered as the bedroom door slammed shut behind him. I hadn’t had my head on his chest long enough to hear his heart, but at least he was up and moving. I swung myself off the bed andI made my way into the bathroom. I locked the door behind me.
In the bright lights the bruises looked worse, clear marks of both my fuck up and his. I took a deep breath and turned on the cold water, letting it soothe the sensitive skin, hoping that the cold would reduce some of the swelling.  I tugged down my shirt, revealing the dark bruise along my collarbone, a reminder of the love and trust we gave each other right before the incident. I sighed and let the shirt fall into place as I dug through the medicine cabinet and swallowed two ibuprofens. I didn’t want him to see the extent of the damages- Val would blame only himself. A half hearted knock pulled me from my thoughts.
“Mi amore, please let me in,” I heard his voice behind the door.
I hesitated but pulled on my robe, ensuring the long sleeves covered as much of my arms as possible. I unlocked the door and opened it.
“Val, I’m fine, I just needed a moment,” I said.
He crossed his arms and gave me a look. “Don’t give me that. Honesty, princessa..”
He reached for me and I flinched as he pulled up the sleeve of my robe, looking away from him. Coldness pressed against my wrist. With the other, he wrapped his arm around me and pulled me to him, cradling my head against his chest.
“I am so sorry, my love,” he said quietly. His thumb stroked my hair as he held me in place. His lips pressed against my forehead. “It won’t happen again, I promise.”
That wasn’t the only thing that needed to never happen again. I laid my head against his chest and listened to the pounding of his heart in his chest. Was it fast because he was upset, or a side effect of the drugs he took? I couldn’t tell.
“Princessa?” He asked as I pressed my head harder into him. “Princessa, why are you pushing into me? Come on mi amore, talk to me.”
I took a deep breath and felt him do the same.
“Valentino, we both screwed up. But…I need to tell you something. Last night, when Vox and Vel told me you took something, you coped by taking drugs I…” I swallowed. Was I being silly? I mean, he couldn’t die- not that the fact took away the fear.
“You what, princessa?” He asked. His fingers fell under my chin and he tilted my head up to meet his gaze, “whatever it is, you can say to me. Please.”
“You scared me last night, Val.” I said softly. “And not because of the bruise, or the yanking or the pulling, and not because of the bite mark either but Val because…because you coped with it by drinking. And added in drugs and when I said I was afraid your heart would stop beating, I meant it. I’ve seen it happen before.” The words rushed out of my mouth.
He gave me a condescending smile and reached to touch my cheek. “Princessa, I told you- Overlords like myself cannot die..”
I pulled away from him and gave him a glare. “That’s not the point! I don’t like seeing you like that, I like you, my Valentino, not under the influence of…whatever that was. I watched soldiers die because of that, Valentino.” I took a deep breath and tried to steady myself. I reached for his wrists and pressed my finger against him to find the steady thumping I had come to associate with his love and protection.
He studied me quietly, and allowed me to hold onto his wrist. Silence filled the room as he remained deep in thought. Finally, he let out a sigh.
“I cannot promise I won’t touch them again, princessa. The fact of the matter is that I cannot die again.”
I opened my mouth to protest but he pressed his finger to my lips. “But what I can promise is the next time we go through something this awful, the next time we screw up, and we will, mi amore, because neither of us are perfect, I will not self medicate. I will seek other ways…that I will figure out.” He leaned down and kissed me softly. “I am sorry, my love. I never thought that would be the one thing to frighten you.”
“Can we stop apologizing to each other?” I asked. I reached my arms out to him. “Can we both move on and chalk this up to…I don’t know, a learning experience?”
He sighed but took me back into his arms. He pressed my head to his chest and nuzzled the top of my head. The steady beating of his heart again filled my ears and I felt him let out a long, slow breath. The sound, the movement comforted me- the proof that he was here with me. Proof he was alive.
“Yes, princessa. I think we can.”

❆❆❆❆❆❆❆❆
Being neighbors with Wanda had many perks. She was a kind soul. It didn’t matter what the occasion was — if someone needed help, she was the first to step up and make a plan. She attended every PTA and neighborhood watch meeting she possibly could. Wanda was the sun of Westview, and not a single person could escape her compassionate rays. No one except her adorable little hermit of a next-door neighbor. You were a bit of a mystery in the community. You were young, just moved in, and seemingly didn’t know anyone in the area. As if the lack of attachments wasn’t enough, you were painfully shy. You had missed the first few community parties since no one could contact you. When you did attend the first pool party, all you did was sit on a floatie and drink.
Wanda was fortunate enough to be one of the few people you actually talked to in the neighborhood. Though the conversations were brief, she learned a lot about you. Most of it was through simply watching you but you were surprisingly open with Wanda. Despite your crippling shyness, you worked in retail. You had a really bad habit of putting your hand in your face when you spoke. Wanda assumed it was so you had an excuse not to look people in the eye. You also really enjoyed photography. You loved it so much, that the simple promise of taking pictures was all it took to get you out of the house. Wanda even convinced the principal to commission you to take yearbook photos.
Wanda thought you were the cutest thing to ever wander into the neighborhood. Though she denied it if anyone asked, the older woman had developed a slight crush on you. She was kind to you because she was kind to everybody, but not everyone could say that Wanda gave them homemade lunch every Wednesday. In fact, those Wednesday lunch boxes were the start of a real relationship between you and Wanda.
"Here you go, sweetheart! I made sure to add some extra Oreos in there!" Wanda was always extra bubbly on Wednesdays. She'd wait until the morning to actually pack your lunch so you'd have no choice but to sit down and warm up a bit before heading off to work. Having actual conversations and hearing your thoughts about the world was oddly relaxing for her. Any relaxation she got from that day's conversation was immediately thrown out the window when her hands brushed yours. "Your hands are as cold as ice! You're not sick are you?" Wanda carefully grabbed your hand and squeezed.
The extra touch made you jump out of your skin. "Oh! I'm fine, my heater sorta broke last night while I was sleeping. I'm working an extra shift tonight so I can get fixed, don't worry about me!!" You and Wanda had been friends for almost a year and you had yet to learn how she worked. Every time you told her not to worry, she would only worry about you more. "I got a heated blanket and a lot of pillows on my bed, I'll be fine for a few days!" A brave smile spread across your face with the hopes of getting Wanda to relax about your condition.
Wanda pressed the back of her hand against your forehead. Your temperature was fine and you seemed to only have the sniffles, but she wasn't going to leave you out to the wolves. "Fine, but let me make you some soup for lunch!" Before you could refuse, Wanda took the lunch box out of your hand and headed back towards the kitchen. "There's some pancakes leftover from breakfast this morning if you want and I'll make sure to make extra dinner tonight so you'll have something warm before bed."
Your heart nearly exploded out of your chest. Just taking lunch from her once a week made you feel guilty, you'd never live down having her feed you three times in one day. "No, that's not necessary! I'm sure what you made me today is enough," You said as you reached for the lunch box. "Plus, isn't tonight when Vision comes over? I'd hate to intrude or give the wrong impression!" You continued to make grabby hands until Wanda used her free hand to cup your face.
"I'm going to make you soup for lunch and you're going to eat breakfast while I do it. Then, I'm going to drop you off at work to make up for having to stay." With her careful grip on your face and confident tone of voice, you were hopeless against her. "Vision wants to commission you again anyways. You two can talk about that over dinner." She gave your cheeks an affectionate squeeze before letting you go.
Having Wanda talk to you like that had certainly awakened something in you, but you elected to mindlessly follow her orders rather than think too hard about your attraction to your neighbor. "I'm sorry, but I can't do any more photography right now…my lens got scratched up and I can't afford to replace it right now." Opening up to Wanda was a slippery slope. One minute you're lamenting about your struggles and the next she's draining her wallet just to help.
Wanda nodded along as she began to cook. "Ah, well he won't need it until early next year so there's enough time to get that in order! What type of camera do you use?" She felt bad about taking advantage of your misfortune, but it was the only way you'd accept a gift from her. "Oh, and there's some juice in the fridge if you want."
Had you not been busy eating, you would've noticed the trap Wanda had set up. "Oh well, I'll use any camera, but I mostly prefer digital cameras over anything." The feeling of a homecook meal filling your stomach was wonderful. "This breakfast is really good, thank you Ms.Maximoff!"
Wanda sighed as she put a glass of juice next to your plate. "I told you, Wanda is just fine. You make me feel like I already have grandkids."She playfully flicked your forehead before turning back to the stove. "Also, a broken camera won't get you out of dinner. It'll be ready as soon as you get off work!"
You let out a sigh of defeat but continued eating. "Okay, just promise not to go overboard because I'm gonna be there. You know how you get with guests."
❆❆❆❆❆❆❆❆
Wanda had decided to take step back after having you over for dinner. You spent days desperately coming up with ways to pay back her kindness. After enough pleading, the two of you settled on just having you entertain the boys while she went gift shopping. Though Wanda was hesitant to leave you with the boys and take up your weekend, she left anyways.
After being stuck in dreadfully long lines and the densest traffic she'd ever seen, Wanda didn't exactly have high hopes when she returned. Billy was calm on his own, but Tommy had a way of bringing his brother out of his shell and into his world of chaos. Which was to say she was rather surprised to see her sons resting peacefully on the couch with you sandwiched in between. "Oh, this is definitely a first."
You looked up from the tv and smiled. "Yeah, Tommy was a bit of rugrat. Turns out he really likes puzzles though, it's a really easy weakness to exploit." You carefully moved out from between the twins. "I can help bring the gifts in if you want. I don't know how long these two will stay asleep when they realize I'm gone."
Wanda didn't bother trying to refuse you. "I would really appreciate that. Just hide them in Vision's old study for me." She handed you off the first few bags she brought in the house. "Do you have any plans for Christmas?" It was a simple question, but one that made her unreasonably nervous. "I mean, you probably do, but if not there's always a seat at my table for you!" She batted her eyelash and flashed the prettiest smile she could. "Even if you just step in to say hi, it'll make me really happy."
Rather than answer her, you just kept bringing in bags. You couldn't tell her the truth. There weren't any Christmas plans and you would just spend the day cooped up in your house. Wanda wouldn't let you do that. "Welp, that's all the gifts! Hope you and kids have a nice winter break!"
Wanda grabbed your coat sleeve before you could walk out of the house. She pulled your back flush against her chest. "I'd really appreciate it if you showed up." Her hands slid to your front and zipped up your jacket. She considered giving you a kiss on the cheek, but the moment was ruined by her twins' disgust.
"Noo, don't let mom give you cooties!"
You burst out into laughter at Tommy's interjection. "There's no cootie giving here. I promise your mom doesn't like me that way." The words sounded neutral leaving your mouth, but they disappointed you. "I'm sure Ms — Wanda wants someone her own age and more capable." You giggled to lighten the mood. "Well, I'm off to work! Call me if you need help wrapping stuff!"
"Fine, but the offer still stands!"
❆❆❆❆❆❆❆❆
Christmas day had arrived and you were nowhere to be found. The whole neighborhood and their relatives had packed themselves into her house, but you were just a ghost.
"Wow Wands, I'm surprised you haven't been showing off that new plaything of yours yet." Agatha's teasing voice filled the air. "Their car's still parked. They can't have gone far."
Wanda frowned at Agatha's description of you. "They're not my plaything and even if they were, I wouldn't show them off like some dog." Deep down, she knew part of that wasn't true. She'd happily show you around like a new puppy if you'd let her, but you weren't hers to show off. Not yet at least. "I'll go check on them, but promise not to say anything weird if they come over." Wanda grabbed her coat and made her way to your front door. At first, she just looked around to see if you were there. Maybe you'd been picked up by someone else when she wasn't looking out her kitchen window and hoping you'd walk over to her house. The adorable sight of you sleepily hunched over your laptop was all the confirmation she needed.
The knock on your door startled you. You climbed off your kitchen countertop and opened the door. Wanda standing in front of your door with her arms crossed was not what you expected at all. "Oh, hey Wanda." You stood up straighter and fixed your clothes. "Is everything alright, do you need me to watch the boys?" It confused you when Wanda shook her head. You peeked over to her house and noticed all the cars lined up in front of her house. "Oh, your Hanukkah party! How's that going?"
Wanda could only sigh. "No dear, it's my Christmas party. You know, the one I invited you to last week?" She watched as your face fell. You looked like a kid that just got caught with their hand in a cookie jar. "You're not taking anything from anyone by coming. Just a few hours, that's all I want." Her heart nearly exploded watching you shift from side to side.
"Why are you so nice to me all the time? I'm just your neighbor." Being defensive when you had no excuse wasn't a good habit, but you'd rather die than have Wanda waste another ounce of her kindness on you. "I'll be fine. My heat is back on and I've got enough food. Just go have fun." You got ready to close the door only for Wanda to put her foot in the hinge.
"I'm nice to you because I like you." It was Wanda's turn to blush. Karma for all the times she'd left you a stuttering mess for her own amusement. "I understand if you're not interested, but every time I see you I just get the urge to take care of you. It makes me sad seeing you overwork yourself and huddle up in your house all day." She gripped your door frame hoping you'd be at least kind enough to reject her softly.
Your heart was beating a thousand miles a minute. None of the words swirling in your head made sense. You were overjoyed at Wanda's confession, but you didn't wanna seem like a nerd in front of her. "...I'll…I'll go to your party, just let me get washed up first." You slowly opened the door and let Wanda into your home. "Sit down if you'd like, I'll be showering upstairs."
While you showered and rehearsed your own confession, Wanda roamed your house. There wasn't much, but you cared for what you had. The video games were neatly stacked and organized, your couch and furniture had just been cleaned, and the fruit washed and ready to eat. "You really do a good job at keeping… What is that?" The compliments on your house care were cut off by Wanda's astonishment at the sweater you choose to wear.
You looked down at your sweater and smiled happily. "Oh, I got it from the store I work at. I didn't get to wear it last year so I'm bringing it out today…do you like it?" The graphic skeleton with a Santa hat, mug of hot liquid, and decorations in its chest cavity wasn't exactly what Wanda expected of your style, but it was cute on you regardless.
"I think it's very cute. Now let's go, people we ask questions if they don't see me after a while."
You grabbed Wanda's hand and tugged it before she reached the door. "I really like you too. I understand if you want to go slow because of the boys, but I'm willing to commit." The seriousness on your face was foreign. "I'll try not to be such a hermit!"
Wanda kissed your cheek and simply led you back to her house. It was obvious you had practiced your confession, but she could always tease you about it later. Thankfully, not many people noticed how long she was gone so you were able to sneak into the crowd without too many questions. Of course, nothing escaped Agatha's watchful eyes but Wanda shielded you from her invasive questions.
Christmas was the first time you had stayed until the end of an event. Sure you had the ulterior motives of making a good impression on Wanda, but you genuinely had fun and hadn't noticed the hours ticked by. Cleaning and putting the boys to bed took a while, but you were satisfied to see Wanda's house back to its original state.
"Here! I meant to give you this when you first came over, but you were too busy partying to notice." Wanda carefully placed a box down on the countertop and smiled. She giggled at your hesitation. "You're not gonna refuse a Christmas gift from your girlfriend, are you?"
The title made your face hot. "That's a low blow, especially for you!" You carefully pulled off the wrapping paper and lifted the lid. Your heart stopped once you saw what was inside. "Wanda, this is almost a thousand dollars worth of equipment! I can't accept this, I didn't get you anything."
While you mulled over a way to pay Wanda back, her mind began to wander. "I can think of a few ways you can pay me back," She whispered. Her hands cupped your face and pulled you in for a kiss. It was a lot deeper than the ones she imagined giving you before. "A few more of those and we'll be even. Yeah?"
"Yeah."

Sweet Angel - Lucy Dacus x Reader
Sypnosis: Lucy's gf has chronic pain, so she wears many different hats - nurse, dog mom, and sweet angel from heaven above
G's notes: surprise shawtayyy (also I love my tens machine lol)
WC: somewhere around 2k (woweeee)
Warnings: RPF, tooth-rotting fluff, chronic pain, physical therapy marks, no fundamental physical descriptors?
The house is dark, way darker than it should be for the afternoon, automatically sending Lucy on high alert. She sighs softly, putting to the universe that you’re just napping and not having a flare-up. Trying to be quiet as she walks into your shared home, she sees your dog Murphy’s head rising from the couch, immediately knowing that you’re indeed having a flare-up and you've unknowingly shut the door on your poor Murphy in your pain-induced haze. Recognizing one of his humans, he stands up, stretching before wobbly walking over to Lucy, his tail wagging. ”Is mama sleeping, Murph? Hm?” Lucy asks, leaning down and scratching his chin. Lucy treads quietly, placing her keys down on the thrifted hall table. Toeing her shoes off, she puts a Trader Joe’s and her studio bag on the dining room table.
She quietly pads up the stairs, her heart cracking when she sees you laying face down on your shared head, a heating pad on your back, an ice pack on your neck.
“Hi, love,” Lucy says softly.
You groan in response painfully; Lucy notices.
"Hey," you exhale through clenched teeth. Your voice is raspy, and it takes a few tries just to say that one word. You slowly roll over on your side, keeping close to your heating pad and ice pack.
"Rough day, huh?" Lucy whispers, her heart aching as she sees the state you're in. The pain in your voice is evident, even when you say very little. Lucy’s hand lifts your shirt, checking on your skin, constantly wary that you’ll burn your skin in desperation for some relief. She immediately notices the deep bruised circles on your back, wincing when she realizes you went to physical therapy this morning.
“Sarah did some cupping, I see… how was therapy?” she asks softly, trailing her fingers over the marks.
“F-Fine,” you slur, teeth chattering from the sheer uncomfortableness. “I was fine all day… had lunch and then I walked Murphy and got home and… it hurts Luce,” voice trembling, tears leaking onto the pillow.
"I know, I know," Lucy whispers soothingly, reaching out her hand to gently rub your back as she speaks. "I'm so sorry, baby. Do you want me to bring you some ibuprofen or your tens machine? What do you need?" Lucy does her best to keep her voice and tone gentle to avoid triggering an even more intense flare-up. She doesn't want you to feel more pain than you already are and wants to take care of you.
“I don’t know,” you sob softly, rubbing your eyes furiously.
"Okay, hang on, sweet girl," Lucy says, her voice still gentle and soothing. She leaves the room momentarily and returns with ibuprofen and your tens machine. She helps you sit up more and then puts the tens machine around your back, emitting a subtle buzzing sound. She gently squeezes your hand with her own, offering some support and reassurance. "Would it help you if I made dinner and did the dishes tonight?" she asks.
“I’m not hungry,” you sniffle softly, the pain radiating up your back, throbbing deep into your skull.
"I know," Lucy sighs quietly. "But you have to eat, love. Let me make you something light, just a little bit of something, okay?" Lucy gently strokes your hair back with her fingers, her tone still soft and caring. "You want some sourdough toast? An apple with peanut butter? I bought those crunchy things from Trader Joe’s that you like…" she offers.
Your whimpers are response enough, her hand rubbing the back of your neck, knowing food is the last thing you want right now. “Do you want your migraine cap?” Lucy asks gently.
“No, not now,” you respond, slurring softly.
“When are you due for another injection, my love?” Lucy asks, rubbing your scalp.
“Uhhhh….” it hurts to think, your eyes squeezing shut.
“Okay, okay… I’ll just look at the Google calendar; just relax,” Lucy says, cringing, reprimanding herself for asking so many questions.
Lucy gently pulls you to her chest, your face resting against her chest, cheeks smushed against her shirt. She rubs your hair gently, her other hand adjusting the pads of the tens.
“I’m sorry,” you whisper, voice muffled against Lucy’s t-shirt.
Lucy holds you close, her heart breaking as she listens to your words. She knows how much this pain takes a toll on you, the unpredictability always throwing you through a loop. She strokes your hair softly, her face frowning when she thinks of how you dealt with this while she was gone. She knows you’re capable, but there’s a part of her riddled with guilt when she’s away having the time of her life touring and traveling, knowing you’re home in a similar position to now. She has to commend you when you are up and moving around again. She’s been home precisely 11 days while on a break before the next leg of the tour, and this is your first flare-up, your commitment to pain management and self-care paying off.
“What time is it?” you mumble groggily, cheeks wet and flushed, eyes puffy.
"It's a little after 6:30," Lucy gently murmurs, holding you close. She strokes your hair and your back with her hand, trying to offer some comfort despite the numbness you often feel in your head. She could tell that the flare-up had been particularly rough on you, and she knew that the pain had only exacerbated your exhaustion. She wanted you to get some rest, even though you were likely to toss and turn from the pain.
“Mhm,” you hum, eyes closing, the ibuprofen and tens finally kicking in.
“When did you walk, Murphy?” Lucy asks softly to gauge how long you’ve been lying in bed.
“I don’t know… 3:30… maybe,” you slur, words soft and quiet.
"That makes sense," Lucy whispers, her eyes on you as you slowly begin to relax and your eyelids droop. She smiles lovingly, her finger trailing down your face. She felt a little better seeing the tension in your face release and the creases between your eyebrows start to smooth out.
She lays down next to you on the bed, her legs wrapped around yours, wanting to be close to you as you begin to rest. She closes her eyes and whispers, "I love you."
“Love you,” you mumble back, the faintest hint of a smile on your face, eyebrows finally relaxed.
Lucy smiles softly as you say those words, her worries and anxieties slowly dissipating as she watches you fall asleep beside her. She worried about you and was scared to see you in pain. But the tiny smile on your face and the fact that you were finally falling asleep and getting some rest was a huge relief.
Lucy watches you sleep for a while, Murphy moving up on the bed and a little too close for comfort for Lucy. She stands, tucking you in softly, removing the melted ice pack from your neck, and adjusting the heat pad further up your back.
She beckons Murphy to the stairs; he’s staring at you in bed, whining softly. “Come on, Murph, potty time,” Lucy calls, trying to get him out of your bed and out of the bedroom.
Murphy slowly gets off the bed, his ears drooping a bit. He doesn't want to leave you while you're sleeping, his stance at the foot of your bed almost protective. “Murphy, come,” Lucy says sternly, her tone soft enough to not wake you. He whines again, not wanting to leave but knowing he'll get much-needed attention and love once he goes outside with Lucy.
"It's okay, Murph," she tells him quietly. She strokes his head and gives him a few scratches behind the ears, trying to gently encourage him to go outside. After a few more moments, Murphy finally gives in and follows Lucy down the stairs.
While Murphy does his business, Lucy can’t help but admire the sun setting, the sky awash with shades of orange, yellow, and pink. The trees and buildings cast long shadows across the skyline, and the view from your back porch was stunning. Lucy couldn't help but snap a few photos to capture the moment, knowing that it was something that you would love.
Eventually, she and Murphy return inside, throwing him a small treat and watching him gulp water as she fills his food bowl with dinner. She returns to the dining table, finally putting away the groceries, wincing when she remembers her perishables, but it hadn’t been that long. She moves about the kitchen, putting dry goods into jars and boxes in the pantry. While cleaning, Lucy can see the exact moment the flare-up started based on the random assortment of things lying out in the kitchen and moving into the living room.
Lucy makes a quick little snack plate, knowing fully well you will only touch some of it. She fills up your huge water bottle with ice water and walks up the stairs, Murphy at her heels, excited for your bedroom door to be open again.
Lucy gently nudges the door with her knee, and Murphy rushes in, excited to see you after being out. She places everything on the nightstand before moving to the bathroom to run a hot bath with Epsom salt, throwing some towels in the warmer, a thoughtful gift from Phoebe last Christmas. She returns to the bedroom, greeting you by kneeling on the floor near the bed, kissing your nose and cheek softly, her knuckle gently brushing your cheekbone.
“Hmm?” you hum, eyes closed, feeling a nudging on the bed, Murphy’s nose gently pushing the back of your knee. Opening your eyes, Lucy is in view, her bright eyes and wide smile, soft features. “You look like an angel,” you murmur playfully, eyes crusty and cheek squished against the pillow.
Lucy chuckles softly as you call her an angel, her face turning a bright shade of pink as she smiles softly. She gently brushes some of the tears from your face, her thumb gently caressing your cheek. "You need a minute to wake up?” she asks, unplugging your heating pad and checking the skin of your upper back again. You shake your head gently, the position becoming uncomfortable. “Hold on, sweetheart, give me a second,” Lucy says, tapping your shoulder as she pulls off the wires from your tens.
“Bathtime," she teases, her voice still soft and gentle. She knew you were still in pain, and the exhaustion was catching up to you, but she wanted to make you comfortable.
“You ran me a bath?” you ask, words still slurred from sleep.
"Yes, I did," she chuckles softly, her face still flushed as she gently helps you sit up. She takes your hand and helps you swing your legs off the bed, trying to help you get your bearings. "It's just about ready. Do you want some help walking to the tub?" she asks gently.
“Please,” you whisper, eternally grateful for your sweet angel of a partner.
"Of course, lovie," Lucy says softly, heart aflutter at your softness. She wraps her arm around your back and helps you walk down the short hallway and into the bathroom. She gently supports you until you're sitting on the closed toilet, and then she starts to help you undress. She's careful to keep you comfortable and not push you too much, but she also knows that soaking will help with some pain. “Arms up…atta girl,” she teases, lifting your shirt over your head.
Lucy helps you slowly into the tub, hissing at the temperature and then relaxing in the hot water. A small smile grows on your face, almost bashful to sit in front of Lucy this way, even though this is common.
“Thank you,” you say, voice thick with emotion. Lucy sits down next to the tub, Murphy lying at her feet.
"You're welcome, my love," Lucy whispers, her voice still gentle and caring. She leans against the tub, rubbing your knee, her eyes on you as you settle in and relax. Murphy’s head lifts to look at you softly, sighing contentedly and enjoying the quiet moment with his moms. The combination of the warmth of the bath and the Epsom salt helps to soothe your muscles and help you relax, and Lucy and Murphy are thrilled to see you finally getting a break from the pain.

Your scent lingered
Drabble: Come morning, you leave behind nothing but crumpled sheets and your scent. But Daryl craves more.
A/N I'm starting a 10-min drabble series where I write something on my phone quick before bed. Here's the first.
Tumblr media
Your scent lingered but you never did.
Daryl wondered why that was - why you'd pack yourself up and haul yourself out of town before his eye could crack open to the dawn.
It wasn't a commitment thing. You were committed to a lot of things: him, sex, chaos.
And you always came back.
You were always there when he needed - with fingers of ice but breaths of fire, and a heart a few degrees south of molten core.
But then you were gone. Away with the night and like a fleeting dream come morning.
The excuses would vary. "Supply run." "Weapon maintenance." "Some Alexandrian snob got a blocked drain (again)."
Daryl had grown tired. Tired of waking up tired to an empty pillow and a scent that always lingered.
Would it kill you to once stay for the dawn, to stay in his arms through morning and to only leave once the knocks came at the door?
It probably would. He knew that by now.
The only thing in this world powerful enough to tie you down was a headstone. And even then, he wasn't sure.
So Daryl stretched out his arms over the king-sized, royally pompous bed, and felt his fingertips brush the sheets where you had lain.
Warmth lingered there. But you did not.
And so Daryl spent half an hour more wondering where you had scuttled off to in your usual hurry, and why you'd kissed his chest so tenderly as you dressed near his bedside.
He'd been awake then. He always was when you left. And every time, you'd whisper him a chaste goodbye as though it were the last, and Daryl would struggle to feign sleep - fretting that it might really be.
Your scent lingered but you never did.
Yet that alone was enough for Daryl. Because there would come a day when neither would remain. And on that day, Daryl knew, this world would become a drop more cold.

How about 35: "It's just a headache, I'm fine."
With Tim taking care of Kon after he overused his TTK?
A sliver of light falls across the floor from the hallway as the door starts to open. With the haze of pain fogging up his entire brain, it's barely enough warning for Kon to remember to croak out, "Don't."
Tim stops, hand falling away from the light switch. "Kon?"
Even the idea of lifting his head from the balled-up hoodie he's using as a pillow is agonizing, so Kon opts for the world's most pathetic peace sign. "Sup."
"What are you doing?" Tim slowly closes the door again, at least; the darkness is blessed relief from the stabbing pain behind Kon's eyes at even the faintest light. "Why are you on the floor?"
Kon squeezes his eyes shut, ignoring the way Tim is definitely scrutinizng him in the dimness. His brain is probably doing that BBC Sherlock thing, tagging and analyzing his pained body language, the way he keeps pushing his thumbs into the pressure points just below his eyebrows, the tension in his shoulders. Tim would hate it if he described it as a BBC Sherlock thing, of course; that's why Kon keeps doing it.
"It's just a headache." His voice is a little too breathy from pain to be dismissive, but he tries. "I'm fine."
"You could've gotten in the bed, at least." Tim sinks down next to him on the rug. "What caused it? Are you hurt?"
"Fuck, Rob, not so loud," Kon groans, rubbing his temples. "Ugh. S'nothing. Overdid the TTK holding all those skyscrapers up for so long this afternoon, that's all. And bed sounded too hot."
Tim is quiet for a moment. "You never told us that gives you migraines."
"Never seemed to matter." Another wave of agony throbs behind his eyes, lancing straight through the deepest parts of his skull, and Kon swallows down a whimper. "It, ugh, it happened way more when I was freshly hatched. Now s'not all that... frequent."
"You being in pain always matters to me," Tim says softly. He lets out a breath, quiet even in the silence of the room, and shifts his weight slightly; Kon can hear the rustle of his clothes. "...Can I get you something? Is there anything—you came to my room for a reason, right? What do you need me to do?"
There's an undercurrent of desperation in his voice, barely there, but readily apparent to anyone who knows him even half as well as Kon does. He hates being helpless, hates seeing anyone he loves in pain, hates not being able to fix it. Kon smiles wanly, opening his eyes to look up at him; it doesn't hurt, not too bad, since the room is so dark.
"I'm in your room 'cuz you have the best blackout curtains in the whole Tower," he says honestly; even in this state, he doesn't miss the way Tim's shoulders droop slightly. "But... if you could get me an ice pack—no, two—that would... that'd be pretty rad."
Tim's on his feet before Kon even finishes his request. "Yeah, of course, I have plenty—" and then he's off like a shot to the mini-fridge in the corner, pawing through the freezer in the dark like a raccoon. Kon hides a wince; his ears are too sensitive for even the slight crinkling and cracking of the ice, and nausea churns in his gut.
But then Tim's back, and in his hands are two blessedly cold packs, wrapped in cloth to make them easier to use.
"God, Rob, I could kiss you," Kon tells him, pressing one to the back of his neck. It's instant, if not total, relief, and he lets out a low moan as the agony spearing through his temples starts to ebb out into the chill. After a second, he presses the second one over his eyes. Fuck, that's so much better...
"Do you need anything else?" Tim asks, hesitating. "I can get you some tea, or a blanket—no, you said it's too hot, um—do you want a sleep mask? Or I can—"
Kon reaches up, grabs one of his hands, and hauls him back down to sit on the rug. It takes a mildly herculean amount of effort, but he lifts his head next, scoots over, and places it on Tim's thigh, so that he can tuck his face (and ice pack) into his stomach. "Shut up," he mumbles, "and just... stay."
If it's too cold, or uncomfortable, Tim makes no indication. He just lets out a soft, "Oh," and then, to Kon's delight, threads his fingers tenderly into his hair. "...Is this okay?"
If his touch was a little more direct, if his gentle caresses were any faster, it'd be too much. But as it is, it's helping, and if he stops anytime soon, Kon might cry.
"Better'n okay," he answers, and despite his migraine, he smiles slightly against Tim's shirt.

MasterList
Warnings : none.
Summary : the ask above
Tumblr media
You knocked on Randy's bedroom door softly. You heard a groan followed by a "Come in.". You walked in closing the door behind you.
"Randy, your mom let me in. I brought some stuff for you.". You said softly placing the grocery bags on the floor. He flopped over in bed facing your direction. He whined a bit, "Thanks.". He opened his arm up to you for a hug.
"Randy... I can't get sick."
"Please?"
"Randy.."
"Please?!!" He whined. You sighed kicking your shoes off crawling next to him in bed. He nuzzled his head into your chest with a slick smile. You wrapped your arms around him gently feeling his forehead.
"Randy, you're burning up!"
"I know I'm just that hot." He joked. You gave him a look, "You know what I mean!". You got up from his bed, he desperately was grabbing at your arm for you not to go.
"Where are you going?" He complained. You sighed, "To get you some ice. And maybe a bowl of ice cream.".
"M'kay. I want-"
"Chocolate with a bit of sprinkles. I know." You kissed his head going to get ice. Randy sat up in bed fixing his bed for you to sit with him. He propped his pillows up and wrapped himself in a blanket.
"I'm back" you said with a smile. You gently kicked the door behind you for it to close. You gave him his ice cream and sat next to him. He immediately dug into the icecream, you placed an ice pack on his forehead. He groaned backing away from it, "Randy!" You laughed. He gave you a look with the spoon hanging in his mouth.
"You need this to break your fever, baby." You said gently. He sighed letting you hold it to his forehead as he ate.
"Thanks for coming." He said while eating his ice cream.
"It's no problem! I'm glad I can help.". Randy put the now empty bowl on his nightstand. He hugged your waist pulling you closer. The icepack now pushed against your stomach. The cold seeping through your shirt, "Randy it's cold" you said pushing him back enough to see you.
"No shit" He whined. You flicked his head lightly, he sighed sitting up.
"What'd you bring?" He asked nodding towards the bags. Your eyes lit up, "Oh! I almost forgot!". You got up to grab the bags and plopped them on the bed sitting back down. Randy leaned his head on your shoulder.
"I got your favorite popcorn! Jiffy Pop! And some movies from your work. I couldn't get my 'girlfriend discount' though because someone else was working."
"Sorry" he mumbled his voice going groggy. You kissed his head, "It's fine. I'm just teasing you. I also got some medicine and some soup.".
"What kind of soup?" He asked tilting his head up at you. You smiled, "Chicken noodles with stars.".
"Good." He gave you a small kiss before laying down kicking some of the stuff. You got the movies picking one up, "Can we watch Ghostbusters?". Randy looked over at you, "Please?". He sighed, "Sure.". You got up putting it in his VHS player. You turned on the TV and went to sit back down with him. He resorted back to cuddling you. He wrapped one of his arms over your hip. His head resting on your stomach, you watched his head raise and fall when you'd breath in. You gently messed with his hair, he'd lean into your hand.
Soon he fell asleep moving in his sleep away from you. The movie ended leaving you bored and alone in the dark. You got up to fix him soup, you placed the bowl in the microwave. You watched the bowl twirl, you looked at the wall clock. "8:23pm". You looked around, Mrs.Meeks was nowhere in sight. You walked back down the hall, You knocked on Martha's door gently. She opened the door taking her headphones off.
"What's up?"
"I was wondering where your mom is. I needed to ask-"
"She got put on nightshift at the hospital. Is everything okay with Randy?" She asked.
"Yeah, just making him soup. Sorry to bother you.".
"It's no problem." She closed the door. You went back to check on the soup. You put extra time on their and waited.
"Y/N?" Randy came out of his room shuffling. His blanket was left behind leaving him shivering.
"Randy. Go get in bed."
"No. It's boring there. I wanna be with you." He complained, hugging you. You hugged him back, "I'm heating you up some soup, okay?". He nodded still hugging you, you let out a soft laugh.
"Randy let go!". He shook his head no, the microwave beeped loudly. You tried to grab the bowl for him.
"Randy Meeks you have to let go. I need to grab your soup.". He huffed letting go, you grabbed the soup and got a spoon from the drawer.
"Here. Be careful it's hot." You handed it to him. He nodded shuffling back to his room. You followed him helping him in bed making sure the soup wouldn't spill. He loudly slurped up his soup glancing over at you knowing it bothered you. You laid on his bed cuddling one of his pillows.
"I'm so tired." You mumbled. He put the soup bowl on his already littered nightstand.
"Go to sleep" Randy said laying down beside you. You groaned softly, "Can't I gotta take care of you.". Randy looked over at you, "You still need to take care of yourself.". You scooted closer to him, putting your head on his shoulder.
"Don't stay awake for me. Get some sleep, it's important you do."
"How so?"
"Who's gonna make me ice cream if you're tired?" He said with a smile. You smiled, "Fin, I'll go to sleep but wake me up if you need anything!". Randy nodded, you fluffed a pillow resting your head on it. Randy wrapped his arm around your waist spooning you in. His face in-between your shoulder blades. You both soon fell asleep.
Two days later you also got sick.
Randy got you your favorite ice cream.

Jersey (Charlie Conway x reader)

I woke up to Charlie's arms wrapped around my waist, our legs were entangled and my head resting against his chest. I could hear his heartbeat.
We won last night's game and my legs are aching, Coach Orion kept me on the ice the whole game. We won 6 - 2 and the whole team was going out for Pizza to celebrate. I looked at Charlie's alarm clock and it showed 10:30.
I carefully tried to untangle myself without waking up my sleeping boyfriend. I slid out from under his grip and stood up. He started to stir and I was scared that I woke him up. He turned over and settled down.
I looked through the overnight bag that I had packed to stay In Charlie's.
Denim shorts and a red tank top with a black and white flannel to go over it.
Then I thought of a better idea, I walked over to Charlie's wardobe and opened the door. His green Duck's jersey was hanging up on a hanger. I took it down, grabbed my bag and went into the bathroom to get changed.

Charlie's P.O.V
=============
I woke up at 11 and immediately noticed that y/n wasn't there. Instead, there was a note on my bedside table.
My Dearest, Charlie
I'm going to Connie's before we go for food, love you
Y/n
Is it weird that just seeing her handwriting made me blush? Ok it's probably a little weird.
I got up and brushed my teeth. I decided that I would wear my green Duck's jersey because we won.
I ruffled my hair in the mirror and opened my wardrobe. My white jersey was there but not my green one. It can't be in the wash beacause I haven't worn it in like a week. I can't ask my Mom either because she has already left for work.
"Odd, where is it?" I thought but didn't think much about it and put my white jersey on with a pair of jeans.
___________
Your POV
=========
I knocked on the door of Connie's house and her Mom answered the door.
"Oh hello y/n. How are you sweetie?" she asked and let me in.
"I'm doing great, my legs are a bit sore after last night's game but that's alright. Where is Connie?" I said.
"Oh she's up in her room dear," She said and went into the kitchen.
I ran up the stairs and could hear 'About a Girl' by Nirvana being blared from Connie's room.
I knocked on the door snd she told me to come in.
When I walked in she looked at me confused and said "Why is your j- WAIT... Turn around."
I turned around and Connie started laughing. "Look at you! Soon to be Mrs. Conway," she joked.
"haha I wish. I just stole his jersey," I giggled and sat down.
"You guys are so cute I cannot deal. So how was your sleepover? Did you..." she raised an eyebrow.
I threw a pillow at her "NO! Connie, god. We just watched a movie,"
Connie laughed "Ok, ok... Sure you did,"
I stayed in Connie's for an hour or two before heading to Tommy's Pizzaria.

Charlie's POV
==============
I was walking to Tommy's with Goldberg around 2 and talking about y/n.
"Dude, you never shut up about her. I understand why though, she is hot. Let's say if you... Mysteriously break up for some unknown reason. Can I have her?" Goldberg asked, which made me laugh.
"Haahha I hope you're not planning to kill me now Goldie... And It's bold of you to assume that she would want you," I winked.
"Well yanno I am irresistible," Goldberg flexed his non-existent muscles.
We walked in and the bell rang above us. I looked around for the team and saw them with 2 big tables pulled beside each other. Everyone was there except Goldberg and I.
I saw y/n sitting down, deep in conversation with Fulton. She was wearing her green jersey but It seemed a little big on her. I looked again and realised that she was acctually wearing my jersey.
It looked great on her though. Of course it was a bit big but... right yanno. It might have been that the name Conway was plastered across her back. It showed everyone that she was with me and it made me think about how good Y/n Conway sounded.
I could feel my face getting hot. Goldberg noticed what y/n was wearing beacause he nudged me.
"Nevermind, doesn't look like she'll be leaving you anytime soon," he winked and went to sit beside Julie.
Y/n looked up and her eyes lit up when she saw me,she beckoned me over to sit on the seat next to her.
I sat down and kissed her on the cheek, and whispered in her ear" So that's where my jersey went."
