Do you guys have any tips on how to join a group that has been going on for a while like yours? I've been meaning to try and apply for a while but I worry about fitting in with writers who have been writing together for a long time
Hi, anon! This is a lovely question, and we really appreciate the care that people put into thinking about joining our group!
It’s true, our group has been going for a long freakin’ time - we love it, and we couldn’t do it without our amazing group of writers. If we had to narrow down who has had success writing here and why, I think it’s actually pretty simple: plotting.
We’re a slow moving RP, which you probably know if you’ve been looking into us for a little bit. Our threads tend to get nice and long with plenty of shorter paras/gif chats interspersed, and some of us have threads still going from “Summer of 1977” (in-game time, it’s now January 1978!), and we like it that way. That being said, the only way to really get what you need out of those threads and the characters is through plotting and communication with your fellow writers. We’re all very welcoming here, we love getting new faces and we know for a fact everyone here does their best to get things going with the new folks. It just has to be reciprocated, and - we might be biased - we believe everyone in the group is super nice and easy to approach. Ever since we made our own Discord channel, too, it seems like plotting and messaging has gotten even easier!
As long as you can come to us with a brain full of ideas and headcanons and excitement and openness to discuss potential plots, you’re going to do absolutely fine with us! You’ll find yourself fitting in and thinking up flashback threads and it’ll be like you’ve been here all along. We’d love to have you, and don’t hesitate to send in any other questions you might have! -The Admins
