#i.e. saying 'we go together' when dying to stupid mechanics

missing piece. falling asleep somewhere that isn’t their bed. Though, I believe I've seen you write about almost all these prompts at least at one point or another, they're all so wonderful.
Wow you’re right. Especially this. Off the top of my head: I’ve written about Alyx falling asleep on the couch, on the floor, and somewhere??? that definitely isn’t under a tree in Il Mheg. I’ve written about Aymeric sleeping on the couch twice, and along with various passing references to him sleeping at his desk, I am currently finishing up a chapter that involves snoozing briefly in an armchair.
Coincidence? Definitely not. Anyway, here’s another one.
-
“Darling, I shan’t make it, go on without me.”
“Out of the question,” Alyx declared, “We go together.”
“Then you must needs carry me.”
“I can’t carry you.”
“Of course you can. Just lift with your legs.”
There was some small chance that had she not been besot by hysterical laughter that she could have made some progress, but this was not like any of the times Alyx had tried to lift an entire Lord Commander from the ground just to see if she could. Those times they had both been standing, for one thing, and she had far more stable footing. Though she could not carry him more than several steps she prided herself on the almost-fulm of space between his feet and the floor.
Such a feat in their current state was far more daunting erring on the absurd.
Nevertheless, Alyx made a very weak attempt at achieving some semblance of a sitting position, but was no match for the sleepy weight (and absolutely, definitely purposeful resistance) of her companion. She collapsed beside him and sighed dramatically.
“I’m too drunk,” she whined, “And you’re just a ... giant ragdoll right now. Just an enormous, beautiful sack of popotoes. I’m no match for you.”
Aymeric, similarly smashed if not moreso, had tears in his eyes from laughter.
“But you are,” he said, “You belong here with me. On the floor.”
It was extremely comfortable. She lay her head in the curve of his shoulder for only a moment, just enough to regain her strength.
Several minutes later, Alyx opened her eyes without realizing she had closed them.
“Aymeric, we are going to fall asleep here,” she said groggily, “And we’re going to be really, really upset about it when we wake up.”
“So be it,” he mumbled, “We go together.”

so i just finished yakuza 6 and wow. i have a lot of thoughts and opinions. so here they are!!
im spoiling pretty much the entire game + a little bit of tlou part 2 (pretty much just the beginning when a certain someone dies) so keep that in mind. the tlou spoilers will be indicated by ⚠️ so if you wanna skip over that, just ignore everything inside the caution emoji.
this game is probably my second favorite yakuza game/tied for my favorite yakuza game with yakuza 0. i have never played a game that has left me with as much an impact as 0 has and yakuza 6 has given me that same feeling i had when i first finished yakuza 0.
there are only two problems i had with this game. the first problem i had was with the combat. overall i think yakuza 6’s combat was pretty good, but there were some times where i got very tired of it very quickly.
it was only really when i was fighting against large groups of people + 1 or 2 heavy weight mini bosses. i would have both of the mini bosses continuously knock me down over and over before i ever got a punch in. it reminded me of the problems yakuza 3-5 had. and i had the right upgrades to help me, too (i.e. the rising tornado, automatically get up thingy, etc.) and while i could get up quickly, it just made it quicker for them to knock me right back down again. however i only had this problem when i was fighting many people/heavy weight mini bosses, everything else was fine.
my second problem was the fuCKING TROBLR. i would get notifs for this all the fucking time and with that annoying ass text tone it has it got very old very fast. and at first i was like “well i’m probably just annoyed by it because i personally don’t care about doing any of this troblr shit i’m sure if you’re actually interested in doing these side missions it would be different.” but here’s the thing- i would get these notifs all. the. fucking. time. in the middle of a very very important plot mission? troblr notif. running away from a random encounter? hold on, gotta stop to close out this troblr notif because the text tone won’t stop fucking ringing until i look at it. you’re at the end of the game and you’re running through town to get to where you need to fight this boss and your mind is focused entirely on the plot because crazy shit just went down? hold on, my phones ringing, oh wait no it’s just that stupid fucking app some bitch downloaded on my phone. as you can tell, my anger for this one (1) game mechanic is unmatched.
in terms of the ending, it wasn’t the happy ending i was rooting for, but i’m glad it wasn’t. i think it was a very good end to kiryu’s story and the focus on family and the father/child bond throughout the entire game was amazing. as kiryu’s writing his will, the game goes back and shows you all these examples of family throughout the game and pieces together the theme. i think tying it all back to family/parenting is just what was needed to finish off kiryu’s saga, because that’s been such a big focus throughout the series. from how he was an orphan, to his relationship with nishiki, yumi, kazama, daigo, and especially haruka, not to mention all his friends he made throughout the series. if it wasn’t made clear before, you can see just how important these relationships and family is to kiryu and how he would go to any length to keep the loved ones he has left safe, even if it meant never seeing them again.
i think him dying, or “dying”, was also a good idea. ⚠️ tlou2 spoilers: it’s kind of like with joel in tlou, we all loved him and how he would do anything for the family he has left, and seeing him die was heartbreaking, but honestly, he had it coming. joel did a lot of shitty things in the grand scheme of things, even if it was for the benefit of someone he loved, and even if there wasn’t a “right” solution to the problem.⚠️ kiryu is without a doubt an amazing person and an amazing protagonist. but he is/was also yakuza. a well known one at that, so that means he has obviously done some things that are wrong, and he says how he’s not proud of it multiple times. even if you’re a good person, if you do/have done bad things, they’re going to catch up to you eventually. that’s just the way life is sometimes though, and that’s what makes kiryu and his story feel real. he’s not a perfect protag who does everything right and saves everyone. he’s a flawed person with experiences and connections that have shaped him into what he is, and that’s part of the reason why he’s such a good person.
anyways thank u for listening to my ted talk

edie's pov
"...edie's attackers. i found them. i found them, mr. stark."
my eyes flutter open at the sound of peter's voice. my hazy mind smiles at the soft murmur of it in my ear. that is, until i process what he said. he found them? my head spins and aches in protest as i clamber out of bed and onto my feet. i run to the lab, where i know tony will be. my feet pound on the floor and pins and needles shoot up my legs as they try to wake up along with me.
i reach the lab and throw the door open, tony shuts things down hastily and messily as he pushes past me in the doorway. i run after him, following him down the stairs and through the hallways of the vast compound. my lungs hurt as i move, faster and more energized than i've been in the last week.
"mr. stark! where are you going? is peter okay? let me come with you!" i rush out the words and scramble to keep up with his long strides. he makes it to the room where he keeps all his marks and hops into his newest creation.
"edie, come on kid, no." he says out of breath. his suit is completely assembled now, aside from his mask that's still flipped up. i clench my fists at my sides and refrain from biting my tongue until it bleeds. he continues, "this has nothing to do with you."
i taste blood in my mouth, "it has everything to do with me!" my heart is pounding, almost as loud as my words. tony stares at me, mouth agape.
"stay here, edie. can't you just listen to me for once?" he seethes at me through his teeth and i flinch from my spot. i put my all into standing my ground as he huffs at me and flies away through the opening hatch in the ceiling before calling out into the comm, "i'm on my way, parker. don't do anything stupid."
i watch him vanish into the night. my body feels like there are bees buzzing through my bloodstream as i stand alone in the basement of the compound. a rush of adrenaline passes through me and i turn to run back up the stairs and into my room.
i ignore the annoying numbness in my side and shuffle through my bags for my suit. at this moment, i don't give a damn if tony doesn't want me out there. i don't care if peter doesn't want me out there. i need to go.
my teeth ache in my mouth from gritting them so hard. i can't find my suit. i let out a frustrated groan as i tear my room apart in search of the familiar fabric. i give up and run my hand through my hair, tugging on the ends until my scalp throbs. my face burns in anger. i can't help but feel helpless. peter, the boy who i know would do anything to protect me, is out there in hot pursuit of the people who hurt me. now tony is too. the guilt fills my stomach as i picture peter hurt, laying on the ground because i couldn't get there in time.
i throw all of my morals to the wind and strip down to my underwear. i grab a pair of black leggings and a black hoodie and throw them on. i shuffle through my weapon bag and hide three knives in my waistband, two in each leather boot, and one in each sleeve. i pull the hoodie up over my head and run for the door.
i start to sprint down the stairs and out of the compound when i remember something i saw down in tony's mark room. i turn on my heel and head down there with long strides.
a sleek, black motorcycle sits on the shiny marble floor. i pause and take a moment to admire the beautiful form of transportation in front of me. my feet circle it in search of keys and to my amazement, they're resting perfectly in the ignition. i scoff in disbelief at my luck and hop on. it feels sturdy and strong between my legs as i turn the keys and rev the engine. with a devilish smile, i kick up the stand and let the bike carry me away.
when i reach the city, it seems too quiet as my motorcycle is the loudest sound in miles. granted i haven't been out in days, the lack of noise still feels wrong. the chances of finding peter out here are slim with no help. i can't exactly talk to him over the comm without tony hearing me. i turn to just riding around, keeping an eye out for a certain red-and-blue-clad boy.
my ears pick up on a familiar mechanical whirring as i drive past a dark alleyway that blends in with the rest of the city. i circle around the block and pull over to stop. tony stands over a man, who is lying on the ground. my breath catches in my throat at the sight of tony rolling him over and beginning to spray a medical webbing over his back. i hold myself back from running over to him, knowing that if mr. stark knows i've left the compound, i would be dead.
"i knew you'd come anyways. why do you think i left the bike out?" his voice is soft, but it carries its way over to me. i jump at the sound before hopping off the bike and slowly walking up to tony.
"i-im sorry..." i mutter, eyes not able to leave the dying man before us. tony offers me a tight-lipped smile.
"don't be. i couldn't keep you locked up in there forever. i'm not saying i'm happy with your decision, but we can always use your help, wolfie."
i look around the rest of the dark side street, "where's peter?"
"after the bad guys, but i hope he's alright. he hasn't said anything in a while." he points to where his ear would be on the outside of his mask. i don't know what to do with my hands as i grow nervous and impatient, "then let's go. we have to go." i say as i walk back towards the motorcycle.
tony stops me, "i have to help him," he gestures to the man, "i'm taking him to the hospital. you can go, just keep your wits about you." and he's off again, picking the man up by his arms and shooting up into the air.
i let out a sigh and get back on the bike. i fly through the near-empty streets, constantly looking above my head for a swinging boy. time passes and with each second my stomach sinks lower and lower. i don't know what i would do if something happened to peter. whether it was a paper cut or a stab wound like mine- my heart shrivels at the thought.
finally, a flash of red passes through my peripherals and i immediately change the direction of the bike, causing sparks to fly off the ground as metal scrapes against it.
"peter? i'm here, i see you." i call into the comm.
"e? what the hell are you doing out here? is that you on the motorcycle? damn, that's badass." he chirps through the piece of communication with ease as he continues to fly past buildings.
"yes, it's me. you need to corner them. are they on foot?" i ask, my voice loud as i yell over the roar of the engine. it's then that i see peter is chasing after a black suv, it's screeching through the streets, weaving through the slow traffic and making any sharp turn it can, "nevermind, i see them. i'm gonna catch up."
i twist the handlebars and the motorcycle screams beneath me, lurching forward into the dim side streets of new york. i cut corners and drive on sidewalks to avoid getting caught up in traffic. the suv is closer now, i can make out two people in the front.
i go through my plan in my own head and try to explain it to peter as best i can, "okay, pete. when i say so, i need you to web my bike to the lamp-post down on 26th, okay?"
"what? how is that going to help?" peter questions, i ignore it and push on, "just do it, parker."
i look at the street sign to my right, 21st street. i rev the engine again and gain on the vehicle in front of me. i could reach out and open the trunk if i wanted to.
we pass 23rd street. the suv speeds up ahead of me, putting a few meters between us. i groan and push the bike to go faster. i'm nearing them again when i catch a glance of the driver. it's the woman who stabbed me. her eyes twinkle in the light and she smiles at me. she smiles the cruelest, most unnerving smile i've ever seen in my life. images of that night pop back into my head. images of her holding the knife covered in blood, mine of course. the knife was so rusty and old, making me shudder at the thought of it slicing through me.
i snap out of it when i see we just passed 25th, the lamp-post is close in the distance. i push the bike to go impossible faster and i grab onto the back of the suv with a tight grip, "now peter."
the boy who was keeping up with me from up above shoots a single web at my bike, then swings and connects the end of it to the lamp-post to the right of us. in a fraction of a second, i speed up so that the bike is even with the back right corner of the van. i let the momentum of the bike that is now stuck to the post throw the black vehicle off course as it begins to spin and get wrapped up by the web. i jump from the bike as it collides with the lamp-post after taking the suv with it. it looks like a tetherball, fully wrapped around the pole, but instead of unwinding- it's stuck there with super glue.
my body spins away from the bike, throwing me to the side in a heap of tangled limbs in the nearby alleyway. i let out a few strangled breaths before bringing my arms underneath me and pushing my body up and onto its feet. peter lands down next to me with a soft thud and his arms are immediately wrapped around my waist to help hold me up.
"you're crazy," he whispers in my ear as he leaves an awkward, mask-covered kiss to my forehead. i roll my eyes and look at him with a coy smile, "never said i wasn't." we laugh together at that.
"oh, how nice. lou, come here, look at this. look how nice." a female voice laced with venom spits at us from a few feet away. a line of blood trickles down her forehead and into her eye, but she makes no move to wipe it away. the man stumbles from around the car. his arm hangs at an unsettling angle and he lets out a few pained groans as he moves.
my body stiffens at the two people in front of me. peter notices and tightens his arm around my waist. the woman takes slow steps towards us, her feet colliding heavily with the concrete. the man, lou, is struggling to keep his breathing steady as he leans against the totaled vehicles. i eye both of them wearily and notice how unfazed they seem.
peter takes a step foward, "stay back. that's close enough."
the woman stops walking, "im sorry, little boy. i wouldn't want to upset your friend." with every word, her eyes linger on a different part of peter's body, making everyone uncomfortable. lou straightens up and clears his throat, she pays him no mind. to my relief, peter graciously ignores her stare and stands his ground, "who are you?"
"oh me? i like to stay anonymous most of the time, but for you- for you i guess i can bend the rules." she lets her eyes pass over peter again as she traces two fingers over her bottom lip seductively. i almost throw up in my mouth at her insinuation, but again- peter holds his own. lou speaks up before anyone else can.
"enough, jai. no one wants to fuck you." his voice is tired, obviously over his partner's behavior. she snaps her head in his direction and gives him a look that makes him bite his lip and look away. she slowly turns back to peter and i, who’s still standing in front of me.
"i'm impressed by your work," she says with a sickeningly sweet smile on her face and gestures to the busted vehicles, "amazing what you can do together, disappointing what happens when you're alone." her eyes travel to me and connect with my own, "how are you holding up, little one?" she lets her gaze drift down to my side, where i unknowingly have gripped tightly with my hand.
"leave her alone, don't even look at her." peter hisses through clenched teeth. her eyes widen and her smile turns wicked. she takes a step forward and peter takes one back, his body bumping into mine.
"protective of this one, aren't you? i could tell when you left an innocent man to die just to run after a pair of measly criminals." her words sink into both peter and i. he takes a quick glance back at me, but i don't return the gesture. i don't know how that is supposed to make me feel. i love peter and i would do the same for him, but is it the right choice when you have to choose between him and an innocent man? i was always taught to protect the later, but my heart would never agree when it comes to peter.
i place my hand softly on his lower back, hoping to relieve the tension rising from his body. i feel his body relax beneath my fingers, but he stiffens again at jai's words.
"quite pathetic if you ask me. i guess you two are perfect for each other. just two little superheroes taking on the world and leaving a wave of disappointment behind every time." jai takes tentative steps towards us and pops her tongue, "but that's okay right? as long as you have each other."
peter moves his hand to grab mine and squeezes it tight, i squeeze back and step into his body so my chest is flush with his back. our bodies shiver against each other. i lay my head against his shoulder and look away from jai. this horrible stranger who insists on tormenting us is now laughing at us. her hysterical cackle jumps around in the night air. i peer to my right at lou, he's beginning to sweat underneath the dim street light. his functioning arm reaches behind his back and i see the glint of black metal before i push peter's body away from me.
two shots are fired. peter falls to the ground to the side of me and catches himself with his arms. i collapse next to him and begin to search him for bullet wounds. he looks at me with wide eyes, "i'm okay. edie, i'm okay." i let out a breath and look around at my surroundings.
jai and lou both lay on the ground, their bodies spazzing and seizing against the cold concrete. police sirens sound off nearby and i look back at peter confused. his eyes are trained above my head, i move to look, but a strong pair of arms grab me and hoist me up into the air.
"that's enough fun for tonight. peter, you okay to get home on your own?" tony's voice speaks calmly from behind me as we hover in the air. peter nods his head and shakily gets onto his feet before giving me a nod and swinging away.
i crane my neck to look at tony, but he's stoic as we fly back to the compound, not one of us saying a word.

So since the new It movie is getting pretty popular, I thought I’d make a list of some things from the book about the characters!
This is just so people who are interested and want to know more but who haven’t had a chance to read the book yet can find out more about what goes on in the book!
I’ve tried to keep it spoiler free, so there isn’t anything about the Losers as adults, and I haven’t actually had the chance to see the movie yet (hopefully I will in the next few days!) so some of this may also happen in the movie idk.
Also if there’s anything I’ve missed/got wrong feel free to add on or correct me!
(Sorry this got pretty long, there’s just so much!)
Bill:
Likes to ‘dress well’ (i.e. wearing ties) at school.
The tallest and strongest member of the club.
Has an aura of charisma that draws people in to him.
Spends a lot of time in Georgie’s room because even though it scares him to go in there as it’s exactly the same as it was when Georgie died, it’s where he remembers Georgie best.
His mom gave him a tongue twister (‘he thrusts his fists against the post and still insists he sees the ghosts’) and he secretly believes that if he can learn to say it without stuttering his mom will love him again.
He also thinks that if he can kill whatever killed Georgie his parents will notice him and love him. (Honestly one of my favourite parts of the book is where he starts screaming at It about how ‘My parents took it out on me and that was wrong!’)
Constantly feels guilty about dragging his friends into his quest for revenge over Georgie’s death, even though they say many times they want to come with him.
Also feels guilty about sending Georgie out in the rain to die, even though he knows it wasn’t really his fault.
He always had a stutter but it gets a lot worse after Georgie dies, and disappears when he impersonates someone.
Is only just big enough to ride Silver.
Has a typewriter he likes to write short stories on, and his teachers love his stories.
Gets all A’s on his report card, and Georgie says it’s because he’s not so much good at telling but good at seeing/perceiving/understanding things.
Uses a bullseye slingshot to fight It.
Beverly:
Usually wears jeans or shorts or school skirts and blouses (Eddie finds it odd the one time she wears a dress), and sometimes an ankle bracelet.
Tall for her age.
Always has cuts and bruises from her dad.
Has the best aim of the group, so she’s usually the one holding the weapon when they go to fight It.
Often has cigarettes and matches.
Knows deep down that it was Ben who wrote her the poem.
Gets really mad when the others suggest she do the less dangerous jobs just because she’s a girl and insists that she’s a part of the club so she should do the same work as them.
Is good at baton twirling but knows she will never be a cheerleader in high school because that’s for the girls from rich families.
Lots of people look down on her because she lives in ‘one of the slummy apartments on Lower Main Street’.
One kid in the book that they’re sort of friends with for five minutes named Bradley implies that her mother is a whore, and Bev protests that she’s actually a waitress.
Makes breakfast for her father when her mother is out working.
Loves her father but hates him too, and hates how relieved she feels when he’s not around.
Slaps Richie to wake him up after the smoke hole ceremony because she thinks he’s dying.
Laughs at the most inappropriate times, even if it could get her killed.
Hides her huge crush on Bill as well as Ben hides his crush on her (but basically everyone in the Losers Club can see both).
Not very good at making friends; the Losers are the only real friends she’s ever had (although the same would probably go for most of the others).
Ben:
Always wears sweaters to hide his gut.
Great at building things and coming up to solutions with problems.
Often notices things that the others don’t but never makes them feel stupid when pointing them out or teaching them to do something.
Has loads of building blocks and model sets he plays with.
Spends a lot of time reading.
Kicks Henry Bowers in the balls when Henry tries to carve his name in Ben’s stomach.
It genuinely never occurs to him that he’s lonely until he befriends the other Losers, like ‘a blind child from birth doesn’t even know he’s blind until someone tells him’, because he’s never had the friends to know what he was missing out on before.
His single mom is young and works 40 hours a week to support them. She worries about him starving and her not being able to provide for him; her overfeeding him is like a security blanket for her.
Doesn’t remember his father much, but he left Ben some silver dollars, one of which the club melt down to use as ball bearings against the werewolf at Niebolt Street.
Provides the snacks for the rest of the club.
Wishes Bill good luck when he notices the romantic spark between him and Bev, but at the same time thinks Bill will never love her like he does.
Eddie:
Wears a Captain Midnight ring on his little finger.
Totally hero worships Bill, does things that he would usually be too scared to do because Bill does them or he wonders what Bill would do in that situation.
He and Ben both do this thing where they glance quickly at someone to gauge their emotions before looking away.
Thinks a placebo is the thing underneath cows that the milk comes out of.
Often hears his mother’s voice in his head telling him not to do things.
His mom makes him wear a jacket no matter how hot it is outside.
Laughs in Henry Bowers’ face when Henry breaks his arm and rubs grit in his mouth.
Essentially blackmails his mom into letting him see his friends.
Bill talks about how Eddie is good with mechanical stuff, as the two had worked on Silver together.
Also is said to have a compass in his head; even when the others are lost and there’s no possible way to know where they are, he still always somehow manages to navigate them to where they need to be or at least somewhere familiar.
Is ticklish.
Sometimes sits on the grass outside Niebolt Street Church, ‘pretending to read on the grass, actually jiving’ to the gospel music they sing.
Gets nervous when Ben calls him cool.
He mentions that he’s known Richie for four years and still doesn’t really understand him.
Has three fat single aunts in Haven, Bangor and Hampden. His mom takes him to visit them on the bus sometimes, and he hates it because they all pinch his cheek.
At one point Richie has ice cream and he licks it even though he’s terrified of getting germs (idk I just found that part funny).
When he was younger his mom yelled at him for putting his foot in an X-ray machine and afterwards he was always paranoid about getting cancer.
Derisive of Beverly and Richie’s smoking because that’s how you get cancer.
His mom makes loads of cutting remarks about his friends and he tries to hide that one of his friends is a girl and one is black because he knows what she would say.
The club sign his cast, like it’s a contract.
They all take turns using his aspirator before they go to fight It at Niebolt Street.
Kicks the absolute shit out of the Crawling Eye, saves everyone, and then freaks out because It tore his shirt and he doesn’t know how he’ll explain it to his mom.
Richie:
In the book his worst fears are the movie monsters he loves going to watch, in particular the teenage werewolf and the crawling eye.
Carries his transister radio down to the Barrens a lot, is the biggest fan of rock and roll of the 50s. (Ben breaks it accidentally before they go to fight It but we sadly never see Richie’s reaction to that.
His family are Catholic. He gives some pretty loose interpretations of the Bible throughout the book, sometimes quoting it, and he won’t eat meat on Fridays.
Understands Bill ‘perhaps better than anyone else would’ until Bill meets his wife years later.
Is friends with Beverly before the beginning, the two of them smoke and play with yoyos together, and he’s the one who brings her into the Club.
Also speaks to Ben a bit before when he’s still the new kid at school, and Ben mentions that he has the nickname of Bucky Beaver at school because of his big front teeth.
According to Eddie he always gets A’s and B’s for his schoolwork but then C’s and D’s for his behaviour and his dad is always mad and his mom cries so he tries to behave for a while but it never sticks.
Has dozens of Voices but pretty much all of them sound like him.
A lot of his voices are pretty offensive, and all of them are terrible.
Has seen It before the Niebolt Street encounter, but believes it’s a dream and has half-forgotten it. It appeared to him as a giant statue come to life.
Loves horror movies.
Brings sneezing powder to Niebolt Street to try and fight It, and it actually works (because he believes it will).
His mother sometimes wishes she’d had a daughter because she doesn’t understand Richie and she thinks she could have if he was ‘a pretty little girl’.
Once tried to smoke some random plant he found and got sick.
Carries his transister radio down to the Barrens for them a lot, is the biggest fan of rock and roll of the 50s. (Ben accidentally breaks it just before they go to fight It, but we never see Richie’s reaction to that.)
Stan:
Is so neat and has such a serious expression he looks like a tiny adult.
Is the one who comes up with the idea of the blood oath and cuts everyone’s hands.
In the year below the others, was kept back a grade because he was sick a lot as a kid.
Best friends with Richie, even though Richie teases him a lot about being Jewish.
He says he’s not really Orthodox Jewish; he barely knows what being a Jew is, other than that he occasionally goes to synagogue in Bangor.
Has multiple freak outs throughout the book where he wants to leave and the others (mainly Bill) calm him down and convince him to stay, and they all really respect him when he does keep coming back because they know how scary it is.
He feels like he doesn’t have anything to have faith in like the others do (because Bill ‘has Georgie’ but he has ‘nothing’) but Bill reminds him that he has his birds.
Carries his dad’s binoculars and bird book with him.
At a couple of different points scares It away by listing bird names, simply in believing that they’re real and It is not.
In the book his big fear is more of unnatural things; dead people walking for example, just things that can’t possibly be real, because it messes with his sense of order.
‘Stan didn’t have much of a sense of humour, and the bit he did have was sort of peculiar.’
Breaks a window playing frisbee with a plate and has to do chores for it.
Wins at Monopoly.
Sings like Paul Anka.
Mike:
Goes to Niebolt Street Church School and plays the trombone in the band there.
Learns about the dark history of Derry from an early age, his dad compiles the history of the town and teaches him a lot about the injustices that are committed there, both by Pennywise and the townspeople.
Actually likes that Derry has a lot of history.
Really close to his dad, always helps around the farm with him, and his dad pays him for fruit picking like he does any other workers.
Before the start of the book his dad takes him to the police department to show him the electric chair, and he’s scared the police chief won’t let him out again when he sits in it.
Mike’s family and Henry’s family have a long running feud, which started with Henry’s dad poisoning the Hanlon family’s chickens and painting swastikas by their bodies, and Mike’s dad pointing a gun at Henry’s dad’s head to warn him away from his family.
He is therefore Henry’s number one target
One time asks Richie what sex is. Richie just shakes his head.
Goes fishing sometimes, just to relax and take a break from farm life and chores.
In the book his fear is giant birds, because when he was a baby a bird attacked him in his pram and he has vague memories of it.
Doesn’t like swearing in front of girls (even Bev).
Henry:
His dad came back from World War 2 messed up in the head, and beat his mother until she left.
Henry both loves and is terrified of his dad.
He slowly starts to lose his sanity over the course of the story, and even his friends begin to fear him.
Kills Mike’s dog (RIP Mr Chips).
Wears a pink motorbike jacket with an eagle on the back.
Patrick:
A fully fledged sociopath verging on a psychopath.
Believes that he’s the only real person in the world.
Murders his baby brother because he’s scared he could be real too and he disrupts the family’s routine.
Kills flies and collects them to show people while silently smiling at them.
Finds a fridge in the dumps and begins using it to kill neighbourhood animals.
His creepy behaviour goes unnoticed at school because of Henry’s gang and other problem kids acting out.
When Henry starts letting him hang around with his gang is when everyone starts to realise Henry is really going crazy.
Is killed by leeches (or It in the form of leeches) jumping out at him from his murder fridge as Beverly is watching secretly.
Victor:
Probably the smartest one of Henry’s gang, as it goes along he realises Henry is going too far and starts trying to back out of things (but once he’s in he’s all in).
Dies in the tunnels.
Belch:
His real name was Reginald.
Hit the only two home runs at the Tracker Brothers lot in Derry history.
Dies in the tunnels (I think he and Victor are killed by Frankenstein’s monster but cba to go check now).
Georgie:
His middle name was Elmer.
Had cartoon character posters all over his walls.
Loved taking photos and putting them in his scrapbook.
Totally adored Bill, Bill was his hero.
He originally sees Pennywise’s eyes as yellow, but when he looks again he sees them as blue- the same colour as Bill’s and his mom’s eyes.
Some other things about It and the town of Derry:
The Losers build a clubhouse down in the Barrens. (Well, Ben builds it, the others help and buy hinges, and Eddie and Bill go and find a big mahogany door to use).
It comes every 27 years, but it’s not necessarily strict on that so sometimes it’s a year or two out (although this also could be due to lost records or disappearances going unrecorded) and each cycle usually begins or ends (I can’t remember which) with a big event (i.e. the Kitchener Ironworks explosion).
Derry always has a higher murder/disappearance rate than is normal for a small town, but it skyrockets every 27 years.
Only the ‘oldtimers’ are really aware of the cycle, and very few of them are willing to talk about it.
Richie and Mike have a shared vision (in a smokehole ceremony) of It arriving on Earth millions of years ago, and understand that It has always been there and is the heart of the town Itself. Derry was literally built on It.
It’s implied that most of the adults in the town to some extent understand this, and many of the events that take place in the cycles come about as a result of people actively taking part in/ignoring the victims of the dark events in the town (i.e. the townsfolk murdering the Bradley Gang).
It can control/influence people in the town.
Other places in Derry where the Losers go besides the Barrens: The Aladdin (run by Foxy Foxworth) movie theatre; the lot behind the Tracker Brothers Truck Depot (to play baseball); Centre Street Drug Store (mostly Eddie, obviously); the Costello Avenue Market; Derry Public Library (Ben likes to stand in the glass corridor between the child and adult library and watch people outside hurrying in the cold); the abandoned trainyard (Eddie goes there and walks the tracks pretending to be a hobo); and Memorial Park (it has a birdbath where Stan goes to birdwatch, and it also has the Standpipe where Stan is exploring when he encounters the dead boys); there’s a bunch of other places that get mentioned loads of times in the book, but I think those are the most visited ones?
The Losers Club do have other friends outside the Club; Richie mentions a kid named Vincent Taliendo a bunch of times, and Bill brings a kid named Bradley from his speech therapy to hang out with them a couple of times, but all of the Losers understand that nobody else is really part of the club.
Following on from this, in the book it’s not so much a coincidence that these 7 kids become friends and discover the monster; it’s heavily implied that they were chosen, and that there has to be 7 of them.
Bill’s parents are named Zack and Sharon; Beverly’s are Alvin and Elfrida; Ben’s mom is Arlene; Eddie’s mom is Sonia; Richie’s are Maggie and Wentworth; I couldn’t find Stan’s and I’m not sure if they’re in the book or not but I’m sorry if they are; and Mike’s are Will and Jessica. Henry’s dad is Oscar or ‘Butch’ (also called ‘Crazy Butch Bowers’).
It’s most well-known name is Pennywise the Dancing Clown, but It also calls Itself Bob Gray or Robert Gray multiple times throughout the novel. (I think that was supposedly Pennywise’s ‘real’ name or something but I can’t really remember.)
Mike claims that It doesn’t so much feed on children and flesh as it does faith; only children are capable of fully believing in the monsters that It takes the form of, while adults dismiss them and refuse to believe.

Tenipuri Space AU
Okay, so this is going to be pretty garbled cuz i’m tired and trying to get this all from a tumblr chat @solosorca and I have been having for the past 2 hours minimum, BUT IT’S ALSO AMAZING.
(below a cut for length)
Seishun - battle class ship Captain - Tezuka Kunimitsu Pilot/Second-in-command - Oishi Syuichiro Communications Specialist - Fuji Syuusuke Radar? Fighter pilot? - Momoshiro Takeshi (still up for grabs) Fighter Pilot - Echizen Ryoma Fighter Pilot - Tachibana An Fighter Pilot - Kikumaru Eiji Lead Scientist - Inui Sadaharu Science Officer - Sakuno Ryuzaki Med-Bay - Osakada Tomoka Engineer - Kaidoh Kaoru Engineer - Kawamura Takashi Ensign (Med-Bay) - Kachirou Katou Ensign (Engineering) - Katsuo Mizuno Ensign (Security) - Horio Satoshi
Hyotei Empire Aliens with a very strong holding of multiple galaxies Atobe Keigo is the crown prince Currently out traveling to create treaties and see about expanding Hyotei’s holdings Oshitari Yuushi is Communications specialist Oshitari and Fuji do not get along at all, but share all the ship’s gossip with each other Will also share misinformation with each other mixed into the gossip.  It is both a game and a test to see if they can pick out what is and is not true. Atobe had heard tales of Tezuka in his early years as a fighter pilot and was very excited to come across his ship during travels.  So excited, in fact, that he drew the Seishun into a battle to test Tezuka’s command capabilities. Now they are begrudging allies.
Rokkaku - Deep Space Exploration No one is sure if these guys are actually crazy or immune to the insanity deep space tends to drive humans to, but either way these guys spend most of their time exploring the unknown, unmapped parts of dark space -- the edges of the known universe or the long gaps of empty space between galaxies that were left untouched for fear of being forever lost in (think how ships in earlier times kept to parts of the sea where they could still see land, that’s how most ships travel in space, but NOT ROKKAKU!!!) Spending a lot of time out there with only infrequent returns to the civilized universe to pass on any new discoveries or map expansions, they tend to do their own ad hoc ship repairs or adjustments, so their ship looks like a mess and like it should be falling apart but it is in super amazing shape and perfect for what they need it for. Captain - Aoi Kentarou      +took the position cuz he thought it’d make him seem super attractive to girls      +mostly girls are concerned he’s crazy so avoid him Most positions on deep space exploration ships are filled by people who are cross-trained, because they are too far for any sort of response from other ships in emergency situations.  For example, Kurobane and Davide are both fighter pilots, but Kurobane is also a mechanic while Davide fills the role of ship counselor (a necessity on expeditions like this because the solitariness of deep space has led to...incidents.  Icchan is Med-Bay doc and scientist.  Saeki is communications and second-in-command, helping Aoi with battle tactics when required.  Ryo is pilot and radar (his set-up is insane and nobody else really gets how he does it)...I honestly don’t know what to do with Shudoh yet... Anyway, whenever Rokkaku comes back on the map, they always have the coolest stuff to share, but everyone’s afraid to make first contact, because what if they ahve gone off the deep end this time....
--Deep Space/Incidents/Character history-- Deep space is very solitary.  Like, there is usually nothing out there except when a new galaxy is found or they come across intergalactic stars/planets, etc.  So sometimes, when people have been out there too long, they way they think gets warped and suddenly ships don’t come back or they do but they’re pirates or cause extreme destruction.  There are rules in place that require a counselor on board all deep space exploration ships and any time a ship begins to show signs of mental instability amongst its crew, they have direct overarching orders to return to the nearest base for reassignment.  Most deep space crews are regularly shuffled around so no one is out there too long.  Rokkaku makes people nervous because of how long the crew has been together and in deep space. Fuji and Saeki were once both on a deep space exploration ship as ensigns and were the only two to make it back.  They will not talk about what happened, so it’s a complete mystery, but they both did manage to pass their psych evals and get reassigned.  Fuji requested and was granted assignment as Comms specialist to Combat/Defense ships and was placed on Seishun, a new ship that Ryuzaki Sumire was working with captain, Tezuka Kunimitsu, to staff.  Saeki, much to everyone’s surprise (and some concern), requested to return to deep space exploration and was placed with Rokkaku by Oji.  Every once in a while, Fuji and Saeki both seem a bit different, scarier, with an odd light in their eye or tilt to their smile, but before anyone can really begin to catch onto it, it disappears behind their usual smiles.
Higa - space pirates
Rikkai Collective - attempting to conquer and expand influence over the known universe.  They have lost their home solar system to their star dying, but colonized many of the ones they have taken over.  Because of this, they are not one alien species, but a blend of many, with some cross-species existing, as well.  Are known to be particularly cruel in battle and conscript all healthy civilians of where they take over into direct military service or the military industrial complex as a whole (i.e.: building ships, arms development, etc)
Fudoumine - battle class Home defense An originally started off here under her brother’s captaincy but transferred to Seishun because they tend to have more time spent traveling outside of the solar system and galaxy and she wanted the chance to grow. Everyone cried when An left.
Further notes 1. Women are a definite minority in the fighter pilot class and female fighter pilots have a tendency to be looked down upon by male peers.  An works, like, 120% harder to prove herself as just as good if not better than any man and is really blazing a path for future female fighter pilots, as well. 2. She and Ryoma don’t get along too well at first because Ryoma’s a cocky snot who will definitely be the best so how is this girl managing to keep up with him???  But they become friends because they both work insanely hard to prove themselves (Ryoma because of his famous father and An because of her gender) and don’t take shit from anybody.  They work really well together as a team once they do become friends, mostly because An is really good at figuring out what Ryoma is trying to do while fighting and can back him up or fill in the gaps. 3. An becomes a definite mentor for the younger members 4. Anytime one comes up to Ryoma for training because they judge An based on her gender not her results as a pilot, Ryoma runs them through the same drill An is running at the time so she can kick their ass at it. 5. Sakuno gets a lot of flack, too, because it’s her grandmother who helped Tezuka put the crew together.  She can be on the quiet side and not one to really stand up for herself, so some of the crew will talk about her like she’s only there because of her grandmother.  When that happens, Sakuno gets angry and hurt and rants to her friend Tomoka when it gets to be too much, but instead of confronting anyone, she just focuses more on her research and is actually an indispensable member of the team.  When Inui’s unsanctioned experiments with alien flora/fauna/minerals/etc get out of control or start causing problems, she’s the only other person with the capacity to figure out what Inui was doing and how to stop the chaos. 6. All Comms personnel are horrible gossips. 7. Tomoka is the second biggest gossip on Seishun and she and Fuji often get together to share watercooler talk. 8. Kawamura enjoys trading culinary tips and tricks and menus with individuals from alien species he meets.  He cooks in his spare time and practices a lot of what he learns to make really interesting fusion dishes that are greatly appreciated. 9. Inui’s similar attempts at nutritional supplements are not near so looked forward to. 10. Earth’s space agency is called ISEF.  Ryuzaki Sumire and Oji are both high up in its management.  The agency takes from all countries with affiliated schooling systems, but the systems are under the control of the country and ISEF only has objectives and educational requirements that have to be met before they will accept students for testing and, upon passing the tests, placement.  Although Ryoma is the same age as the three ensigns on Seishun, he is actually a semi-experienced fighter pilot because the US starts its combat training at an earlier age and, thanks to training from his father, Ryoma was allowed to do a sort of accelerated program due to how advanced he was.
Extras because we ship it 1. Sakuno definitely does not have a crush on the super amazing female fighter pilot, An, who won’t take shit from anyone and stands up for herself, she doesn’t know what you’re talking about.  NO TOMOKA, DON’T SAY THAT!!! 2. An definitely does not have a crush on the cute, quiet and super intelligent female science officer who is really kind and amazing and *sigh*...I mean, what??? 3. Pillar Pair.  It exists.  They have to keep it a secret, though because of the power discrepancy.  Protocol would normally demand they work on separate ships, but then they’d never be able to see each other which is stupid.  Fuji and An are the first to find out about it.  So much teasing occurs.
